summary- nanami kento being a girl dad
pairing- husband nanami x wife!reader
——————————————————————————
with the growth of a child came the difficulties of their attitude, most adults making it known that they were struggling with parenting through the complaints of certain ages, like “the terrible twos”, which coincidentally, your daughter was in the current stage of.
“come here, now,” your voice was stern, all patience fizzling out of your system as you watched your little girl cross her arms indignantly, scowling at you before pointedly turning her head away.
it was nanami’s idea to use up your weekend at the beach, his optimism rubbing off on you prior to what was now a toddler’s tantrum.
“do you want me to count?” your eyebrows quirked as your daughter continued the silent treatment, hmphing in disobedience. “fine.. i’ll just tell your father.” at the mention of her dad, your baby immediately whipped toward you, her face contorting into a cry as she realized she wouldn’t get away with not listening, little feet stomping as you got up to talk to your husband who was currently preoccupied setting up a tiny, pink umbrella.
stopping with his task, nanami listened as you complained about your little girl not letting you put on sunscreen, her back apparently too sensitive to stand the cold cream. “help me, please,” you sighed, leaning your head against the bare skin of his chest, forehead resting against his collarbones.
a large hand began to rub up and down the length of your spine, comforting you, consoling you in a way that instantly had your nerves relaxing. “you sit down, i’ll deal with her,” he murmured, kissing the top of your head gently before pulling away to trek toward the pouting child in the sand only a few yards away.
the sun was already starting to beat down at only 8 o’clock in the morning, reinforcing your belief that sunscreen was indeed needed to protect your baby from sunburn or sickness. bottle in hand, nanami approached his little girl like she was a lion ready to pounce at him. she wouldn’t look at him either, braving a spanking to stand her ground.
sinking to his knees a few feet before her, nanami didn’t say anything, just opened the tube of sunblock, and began to manipulate the white lotion into a variety of different shapes. first, was a simple sun on the tan skin of his thigh. second, was a couple of flowers, trailing up the outside of his wrist and forearm. the third actually piqued the little girl’s interest, a big butterfly that was messily drawn on the expanse of his chest.
continuing his painting session, nanami concealed his smile as he heard sand begin to drag beneath what sounded strangely like knees, his peripheral vision granting him the ability to watch as his baby began to crawl toward him, big eyes zeroed in on the insect on his chest.
“daddy,” came a quiet voice beside him, nanami finally looking up from the haphazardly drawn shark on his knee to look at the curious little face of his daughter. her eyes were wide but wary as she pointed to his chest, tiny index coming up to smear the butterfly there, almost like she was testing the quality of the “paint” he had used.
“do you want to help me?” nanami asked gently, gesturing to the bottle in his hand. she tilted her head as if she actually had to ponder his question, before she was nodding excitedly, reaching for his hand in a hurried frenzy.
tsking, he pulled the bottle away quickly, his arm high above her head even while sitting. “if you help me, i get to help you too.. okay?”
nodding again, she tried and failed to reach the bottle, little eyebrows furrowing in annoyance. “pinky promise?” he asked softly, large hand coming down until only his pinky nudged the air before her. before he could pull away, her whole hand wrapped around his single finger, shaking it up and down like a giant shaking hands with an ant, he couldn’t help but laugh.
“alright, c’mere baby,” lifting her up by her waist, she set her feet on his thighs, his hands remaining wrapped around her belly to hold her upright before he deposited a puddle of sunscreen in her hand, awaiting her painting.
she certainly wasn’t gentle with it, repeatedly testing the safety limits of his face, one time almost jabbing a sunscreen-covered finger in his eye. slowly but surely, she began to smile, little giggles coming from her mouth, her reaction being enough to tell him that he didn’t even want to know what was occurring on his face.
after a couple minutes, she leaned back in his hands, her index leaving a swipe of white on the tip of his nose before she started to giggle again, “mister kitty.”
ignoring the revelation of her comment, he tickled her sides, smiling at the shrill laughter that echoed along the empty beach, drinking in the fact that his little girl was happy again, that one of her moods hadn’t ruined the day before it even started.
ruffling the fuzzy mop of hair atop her head, he kissed her forehead, “can daddy paint you now?” he asked nicely, her response giddy and quick, clapping her little hands before plopping down into the sand, back to him.
“i want a kitty too!” she practically barked, wiggling her toes in the sand to conceal her very apparent excitement.
“yes ma’am,” nanami murmered, squirting a generous amount of sunscreen in his hand before he began applying the white paste all over her back, letting his hands “accidentally” travel over her arms and legs, somehow successfully applying sunscreen to every necessary area without her noticing.
finishing up, he patted her bottom, urging her to “go show mommy” to which she complied, hurriedly clambering across the sand to jump in front of you, trying (and failing) to point at the “painting” on her back.
“isn’t he cute?” she gushed, jumping up and down, obviously referencing the cat she assumed was on her back.
looking up from your giggling child, you watched as your husband sauntered toward your position on the beach blanket, triumphant grin on his face at his accomplishment. a smile pulled at your own lips at this, not because of his success, but because of the white whiskers and nose that had been slathered across his face by the hand of the girl sitting before you, makeshift face paint making him the world’s cutest dad.
swallowing a laugh, you pulled your baby into your arms, rocking her back and forth as you watched your sun-kissed lover begin to set up that tiny umbrella once again.. strong muscles glinting in the sun heavily offset by the cute kitten makeup on his face… “he sure is.”

Legos and Language
Steve Rogers x Reader x Bucky Barnes
Tumblr media
Summary: All bets are off when it comes to a Lego mishap in the Rogers-Barnes home
Rating: Y'all shouldn’t be reading the filthy things if youre under 18 anyways but this one is pretty PG (but language is the exception)
Warnings: Domestic stucky, suggested and slight smutty times, 90% fluffy, some foul language, talk of murder and destruction of legos forever, feel good shit, Steve, Bucky and their girl have babies
don’t steal my little munchkin oc names please, I like them
This is written from each lover’s POV, marked by ******** this
This is a work of love and hated of legos, solely to be read for a smile and maybe some happiness, be kind or go away
        “Sonofabitch!” Your hushed curse rattles through the house as you stomp barefoot through your son’s pile of a semi built lego creation. With a few breathy “fuck’s,'' you hop over to the nearest chair to rub the new soreness out. Sharp indentations litter the underside of your arch, and you peel off a flat piece from your toe then mentally plot unmonitored use of the quantum realm to murder the creator of legos before they can cause any harm to you again.
       Continuing your muttering, you delicately set your foot down and turn to the mess. You sigh in relief that you didn’t destroy any of the built chunk, you were only subjected to the ultimate test of parenthood, the loose pieces.
     “Back to our regularly scheduled morning, coffee.” You say to the empty room, narrating your routine as if you were running a sitcom. Once in the kitchen, you set about making a hefty pot of coffee for you and your husbands, humming an 80s rock tune and letting your open robe swish around you loosely in the process.
********
      They both notice you slide out of bed, a super spy and a retired Avenger don’t miss much in their own home. But rather than follow you down to the kitchen to disrupt your morning ritual, Steve pulls his husband against him and nuzzles his hair so they could get some quiet time of their own. A few moments later, Bucky is softly snoring against Steve’s arm, and Steve is on the brink of sleep when he hears a barely audible string of curses and the unbalanced thunking of feet along the hardwood. Bucky seems undeterred, so Steve leaves him be and slips out of the bed to investigate what caused the early use of language, not that he’s surprised considering their wife’s colorful vocabulary when the kids aren’t listening.
       Pulling his discarded boxers back on from the night before, Steve saunters out of the master suite silently toward the staircase. He pokes his head into the nursery to check on the sleeping infant twins, and heads down the old hardwood steps, praying for them not to creak with every step. Halfway down the stairs, he hears you filling the coffee pot under the tap and the chorus to a White Snake ballad quietly playing from the speakers while you hum along. With a smile and a small head bob as he catches the tune, Steve steps across the threshold of the stairs toward the living room and kitchen, unaware of the torture devices scattered on the floor.
      Steve intends to follow the wall to get to the kitchen without his presence known, until you hear a series of words that would make Tony blush and an unfortunate crunching sound of your son’s creation being smashed to bits.
     “SONOFAFUCKINGMONKEYSASSHOLE WHAT THE FUCKING DICK ON A STICK GOD DAMN PIECE OF TORTUROUS BULLSHIT IS THIS?!!” He yelps loudly and tries to hop over the new graveyard of legos.
     In his fresh misery, he misses you quickly dropping the coffee grounds onto the counter top and hustling toward him to make sure his verbatim doesn’t wake the twins. As you begin shushing him from a few steps away, Steve hobbles blindly toward your voice and you see it happen before you can say anything. Your big clutz of a husband smashes his un-assaulted foot through your son’s Legos, only this time Captain America is not the star spangled man with a plan. He has absolutely destroyed the near complete firetruck and you can only stand in awe at his ability to hit each remaining chunk of the build before he finally makes it to the couch.
     “Fuck fuck fuck fuck, why the fucking legos? FUCK!” His wailing is not going to gain any sympathies from you, only entertainment at the weaknesses of men.
     “Steven Grant, you shut the hell up before you wake my babies or I WILL send Bucky to the store and you can have twin duty alone.” Sitting down at his feet to pull the pieces off his skin, you scold him lightly but without any venom or intention. He hisses as you pull the flat plastic off his big toe, and you chuckle as his pathetic whimpers cease.
     “So, coffee?” You stand and pull him up with you toward the kitchen, letting his calloused hands and leftover cologne embrace you like a blanket as he leans down to caress your cheek. He kisses your forehead and softly brushes hair behind your ear with one hand while the other grips your plush hip under the loose robe.
     “Maybe something sweeter to distract me first? This robe is teasing me.” His lips ghost down your neck and he nips at your collarbone while pulling the thin silk off your shoulders.
     “You kept me up late, baby. I need coffee before anything today.” You whisper breathily against his tanned, thick chest, whimpering and shivering as you feel him trace the marks littering your skin and gently squeezing the flesh he is so obsessed with.
     He allows you to pull away only after you shudder again, but he stands behind you, hands locked onto your hips as you pour the bitter amber liquid into 3 mugs. Steve’s love bites on your neck keep you distracted long enough for Bucky to come down the stairs without being noticed.
     “I thought we agreed there was no third wheeling in this family, and yet here we are.” Your bonus husband is perched against the refrigerator offering your favorite coffee creamer and his signature pout.
******
     Bucky is roused by his husband rolling out of bed and the accompanying coolness that surrounds him as the sheets flutter back down against the mattress. He listens to Steve pad lightly down the hall to check in on the kids, Hudson in his room first, then Charlotte and Talia in the nursery.  As the footsteps recede down the stairwell, Bucky lets his body sink into the bed and the scents of his partners surround him and lull him back to sleep.
     Until he hears a string of words leave his husband’s mouth, and a series of crunches and shattering sounds buried under more very inappropriate words. Now wide awake, Bucky shoves himself from bed and puts a loose sweatshirt over his head while he walks toward the stairs. He is halted by a whimper from one of his little twins in the nursery, but his ever present super senses note that both babes are still firmly asleep so he continues down the steps.
       Not sure of the state of things on the main floor, Bucky alertly scopes the space and finds their son’s legos strewn about the floor. With a sigh, Bucky steps around them and shakes his head as he follows the sounds of his husband and wife to the kitchen. He is met with tangled hair and soft pants, an open robed woman more stunning than Aphrodite, and a man barely containing his impressive erection in his low hanging boxers. Bucky can feel the energy in the room, can practically taste the arousal on them, and his subconscious stirs awake, begging to join like a wolf waiting for the hunt.
*******
      “And who plans on fixing our son’s firetruck creation? Because it sure as hell won’t be me, I will be taking care of our little girls where I am wanted.”
     Steve is the first to respond, an arm opens toward Bucky in the same moment. “Honey we didn’t mean to leave you out, c’mon over here let us show you how much better it is with you.”
      As Bucky steps into Steve’s reach, you push off the counter and into the thick warmth of your husbands. Their desire envelops you as kisses are peppered on skin and fingers prod at bits of flesh for a better grip on reality. The moment is nearly bursting with love and lust, blinding both man’s super senses of their incoming visitor.
        “Who da hell bwoke my WEGOS!!!!????? MOMMYYYYY!” Hudson screeches from the bottom of the stairs and you’re running for him in an instant.
        “Hudson Anthony! You do not speak like that. You know better young man.” Steve and Bucky hiss at the use of their boy’s middle name, knowing how he feels in both respects.
       “Baby boy, I’m so sorry about the Legos, but you cannot use that language. No naughty words right?” You hate scolding him when you completely understand his frustrations, but heavens forbid he say any of that in public, the boy would be shamed and sent to his principal so fast even the Daily Bugle couldn’t catch it first.
      Hudson sniffles and rubs his nose, trying to fight off tears of frustration in front of his daddy and papa, but quickly fails.
“But, is bwoken mommy. I woked so hawd on it! Wuh happened?” He begins wailing and stuttering breaths, and you pull him into your arms to hug and comfort him gently.
       “Shh, handsome, it was an accident. See, they were left too close to the stairs and mommy stepped on some, then daddy heard her yelp and ran through them too. Papa moved them out of the way and reminded daddy that he needs to help fix it with you baby.” You bounce him on your hip, trying to push the sadness away like you did when he was a small tike.
       Bucky and Steve step closer, each wrapping an arm around you and Hudson to initiate a bear hug. Hudson whimpers a bit longer then picks his head up from your shoulder and leans toward Steve, signaling he wants his daddy to hold him next. Steve pulls him close and whispers apologies only audible to his boy, but you and Bucky smile knowingly. They head to the far corner of the couch where they can have a quiet cuddle and talk about how Hudson can teach his daddy to rebuild the LEGO vehicle.
      You lean against Bucky, enjoying the moment until he turns to the stairs.
       “Time for round 2 with some sleepy babies?” You tie your robe closed and head up the walk way, stubbing your toe on the first step.
       “Mother fu—dge on toast that was unpleasant.” You yelp and grip tightly onto Bucky’s vibranium arm. He chuckles and scoops you into his arms, carrying you up the remaining steps.
     “Careful, I don’t want to use your middle name today too darling.” He winks, setting you down at the doorway of the nursery. With a huff, you begin fluttering about the room, softly waking your girls and beginning their morning routine.
    “My sweet little Charlotte Ann, and my lovely Natalia Rose, you two are the most precious angels in this world. But for the love of all things holy, no Legos when you’re older ok?”

raven-san, can we please have a wedding crashing where jade needs to marry this girl from another crime family to consolidate power and become the next head of the leech mob :)) but floyd's like I'M BORED and annoyed that his brother's being snatched up by a random chick, so he asks basketball bros, and azul, to help save jade?
This one is super long, so I added some extra sections and placed the rest of the wedding crashing below the cut!
***Spoilers for Jamil and Floyd’s Unique Magic!!***
"I object to this wedding...!"
Tumblr media
Pre-Wedding Jitters
A call comes for the twins in the dead of night, without warning. It’s their parents with exciting news: they’re naming Jade as the next Don Leech. The catch? The Leech mob’s in the middle of a merger with the Worm mob, and he’ll have to marry Don Worm’s daughter to secure the deal.
Jade, ever the dutiful son, is honored by his future title and calmly agrees to the arrangement. On the other hand, Floyd’s annoyed by the idea, and can’t keep quiet about his irritation. He calls out to his twin in the darkness.
“... Ne, Jade.”
“Ee, Floyd?”
“Are you really okay with going through with this? You’re just gonna do what they said? Even though you don’t know the Worms at all? Even if you’ve never met that girl before?”
“It is a request coming directly from father and mother. How could I refuse them? And, furthermore... If I do not undertake this task, then it would fall to you, the next choice to inherit the title of Don Leech. I cannot allow that to come to pass--fufu. You do so enjoy your freedom, yes?”
“... Jade, you’re so dumb sometimes. What’ll happen to your freedom, then? Will you get so busy with being the big boss and being married... that you won’t have time to play anymore?”
“... Perhaps. But that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.”
That thought doesn’t sit well with Floyd--not at all.
“I trust that you will make your own fun of the situation,” Jade reassures him. “You always do.”
As the weeks pass, Floyd sees less and less of Jade around, since he has to prepare for the wedding. Jade reassures him that he’s doing just fine, but Floyd can see right through his lies. He can tell that Jade’s more frazzled than usual--there’s a lingering to his words, and a longing in his eyes, savoring every last bit of autonomy he has before his fate is forever sealed.
Floyd hates it. He hates being lied to by his own brother, and he hates feeling powerless to stop the wedding. Floyd’s so angry that he develops this murderous aura in the weeks leading up to the wedding, which makes everyone around him shy away.
One day, he gets sick of being in the water--it’s a reminder of the wedding to come--so Floyd plays basketball on land to vent. He ends up chomping down so hard that he deflates a ball, then dunks another basketball so hard, he breaks the net.
He sprawls out on the ground and angrily shouts at the sky. His basketball bonks him on the head... and that’s when an idea hits him: maybe he can’t stop the wedding alone, but no one said he couldn’t phone some friends.
Assembling the Dream Team
Floyd first dials up Azul, who agrees to help after some whining and signing a contract agreeing to pay Azul handsomely for his services (... although truthfully, the octopus does want to help Jade, but doesn't immediately agree to do it because of his pride as a businessman).
Floyd also calls his old basketball buddies for help! Jamil and Ace are much more adamant than Azul, but Floyd strongarms them into pitching in. ("Umihebi-kun, Kani-chan, if you don't help me rescue Jade, I'll get suuuper mad, you know? I don't think you'll like me when I get mad. Moray eels are strong hunters, so I don’t think it’ll be a problem for me to track you guys down and give you a good squeeze~" "OKAY, OKAY, WE'LL DO IT!!")
Together, the four boys meet up to scheme of a way to disrupt the wedding without jeopardizing the Leech mob's future. Floyd actively leads the discussion, allowing his hidden genius to come to the surface.
Ace doesn’t contribute much to the strategy (laid out by Azul), but he does keep the spirit up with some jokes. Meanwhile, Jamil provides snacks for them when they work late into the night (though he keeps passing semi-glares to Azul whenever the octopus compliments him or tries to be friendly).
In preparation for the crashing, Azul brews some potions to give Jamil and Ace so they can take on temporary merforms. After all, the wedding will be underwater, in the Coral Sea, and they’ll need tail fins.
The date of destiny draws ever closer... and Floyd's never been so excited to cause chaos in his whole life.
The Crashing - Team Azul & Jamil
They split into two pairs on the day of the wedding—Azul and Jamil, and Floyd and Ace. Floyd uses his position as the future son-in-law to Don Worm to arrange a meeting between himself and the don... except Azul and Jamil will show up instead.
Don Worm shows up to the meeting in his finest clothes (which is very little, given that he’s a merman), sounding a bit annoyed the sudden summoning. “Make this quick, I’ve got to go see my baby girl’s big day... Wait. You fellas aren’t the F. Leech boy.”
“No, we aren’t, sir. We are his representatives... Proxies, if you will,” Azul insists, giving his warmest and most welcoming smile. He uses a tentacle to tug on Jamil’s tail, forcing him to smile too. “You see, there is an important business matter we needed to discuss with you on behalf of Floyd.”
“Hoh? And what would that be?”
“I believe my business associate would be better off explaining the matter than myself.” Azul gestures to Jamil, who has his head down.
“Oi, what’s with you? Don’t you know who I am, boy? It’s rude to not look your elders in the eye when they are speaking to you!! Show me the respect I deserve, from one professional to another!!”
“My apologies, sir.” Jamil looks up, locking eyes with the mob boss. “... Is this better?”
“Yes, that’s...”
“Snake Whisper.”
Don Worm suddenly goes glassy-eyed and slack-jawed. Azul claps at the sight, showering his partner with compliments. “As expected of the talented Jamil-san! Even one look from you can bring a mafia lord to his downfall. Truly, your Unique Magic is most impressive!”
“Save your flattery for later.”
Azul’s lips curl into a smirk as he whips out a golden contract from his briefcase and offers it to the don. “Now then, if you wouldn’t mind, sir... sign on the dotted line.”
The Crashing - Team Floyd & Ace
Ace and Floyd rush to the wedding venue, their tails cutting through the water like knives as they swim at a breakneck pace. Ace can barely keep up with Floyd, who surges far ahead.
“H-Hey, should we really be barging in like this?! Don’t mob families have weapons and other dangerous stuff? Is there a backdoor we can take instead? Hello?! Floyd-senpai, are you listening to me?!” (He isn’t.)
The open, underwater comes into view, and Floyd barrels in without any hesitation, tearing right through some decorations and knocking over the wedding cake with his tail. A loud CRASH! echoes through the waters, drawing eyes to him.
Jade stares at his brother from the altar—wide eyed, but a mirthful smile on his lips. Floyd waves to him, and then to his mom and dad in the crowd of guests. “Hiii, Jade! I’m here to pick you up now.”
The Worm girl starts sobbing, wailing something about how her special day’s been ruined, and where is her papa to put an end to this? At her signal, security guards, and some of the rougher looking guests—Worm family associates—lunge at Floyd, claws and teeth out. A few of them have produced wands, and what seem to be guns—loaded with harpoons.
“Bind the Heart!” Objects and stray magic go flying in all directions, hitting both people and wedding decorations. Cloth tears, columns crumble—but it’s one man against many, and he can only bind so many hearts before the blot starts to stack.
Ace makes it just in time, sending their foes and their weapons hurtling through the water with a blast of wind. “This is why I said to be careful, dammit! Your Unique Magic’s such a crapshoot—don’t just use it whenever, or you’ll be sushi!!!”
“Ahahahah! Kani-chan’s being all heroic today! That’s so cute. Don’t worry, I can play my part, too...!!”
Using his tail, Floyd hooks around a drifting merman and chucks him straight into another. They collide with a CRACK!—but Floyd barely registers it. He’s already bolting off, grabbing heads and smashing them together, slicing through others like a knife through butter.
There’s a crazed, frenzied look to him, gleeful laughter cutting through the waters and mixing with the Worm bride’s screeching. I forgot how scary Floyd-senpai can be, Ace realizes. (Jade and Floyd’s parents are cheering for him from their seats.)
Jade looks quite proud of his brother, even laughing along to the brutal slaughterfest. His bride stares at him incredulously. “Stop that brute! He’s ruining MY special day!!”
“No,” Jade replies calmly. “I don’t think I will. This is far too amusing to let it end so soon.”
She lets out a frustrated scream and launches herself at her groom, hands going for his throat. The Worm girl is slammed back with a strong hit to her gut, courtesy of Jade’s tail.
She flies back, slamming into a column—and feels a tail wrapping around her and squeezing tight. Constricting her to the point where it was difficult to breathe. A livid mermaid glares down at her, teeth bared in a snarl.
“No one lays a hand on my children,” Mama Leech declares. “No one.”
From the corner of her eye, the Worm girl can see that Jade has cast off his bow tie and flitted over to Floyd, embracing happily in a battlefield adorned with red ribbons trailing through the water. Her vision is abruptly blocked off by a broad-shouldered merman wearing a grimace.
“Now then, what shall we do with this one?” Papa Leech wonders aloud—though from his tone of voice, he has nothing good in store.
The Aftermath
“You’re all fish bait when daddy hears about this...!” the Worm girl warns, her words raspy. “Th-The merger won’t go through...! There’ll be war between the Leeches and the Worms...!”
A loud throat clearing comes from behind. “Fortunately, that won’t be happening.”
Azul and Jamil make their appearance, the octopus merman smugly showcasing a contract. “Ashengrotto—Azul Ashengrotto, legal and business extraordinaire at your service, Don Leech and Lady Leech.”
Papa Leech grunts. “What’s that you’ve got there?”
“This?” Azul’s smirk widens. “Why, it’s a prenuptial stating that, in the case that an act of violence is enacted by the bride toward the groom, the marriage is considered null and void... and the bride’s family assets are to be claimed by the groom. Signed by Don Worm himself.”
“Wh-What?! Impossible!! How did you get daddy to sign such a stupid deal?!”
“Oh,” Jamil says nonchalantly, “we have our ways.”
“So... Uh, Jade-senpai’s still gonna be the next Don Leech?! And he’s gonna be in charge of an even bigger and richer family... How is that any better than the situation before?! You’re just giving him more resources for committing crimes!”
At that moment, two hands come down on Ace’s shoulders, causing him to freeze up.
“Kani-chaaaaan! Everyone!! Thanks so much for your help~”
“Yes, you have my sincerest thanks, Ace-san, Jamil-san... Azul.”
“It is my pleasure to assist such VIP clients. Ah, but there remains the matter of my promised payment—” (Jamil and Ace internally groan at Azul’s words.)
“Payment?” Don Leech scoffs. “After the ballsy operation you boys pulled off today... I’m more inclined to give you job offers instead of a one time sum. How do you lads feel about being hired as the Leech family’s personal lawyer, interrogator, and... well, whatever the heart one is good at.”
“My, my! Such a generous and lucrative offer—“
“There is no way I’m accepting that, especially if that means working with Azul.”
“Oi, I’ll have you know I’m good at lots of stuff!! I’m the one that saved Floyd’s tail fins, is no one gonna acknowledge that?!”
“You did amazing, sweetie!!” Mama Leech chirps—her tail grip tightening until the Worm girl passes out. Ace leaps back in fright. “As a reward, why don’t you let me give you a hug?”
“S-STAY BACK!!”
“Ahahahah! Everyone’s getting along so well, Jade. Isn’t this fun? You wouldn’t be able to enjoy this if you had gone to get hitched.”
“Fufufu. You are correct, Floyd. How sad it would have been if I were to miss out on touching moments such as this. From the bottom of my heart... I thank you for thinking of me, and for rushing to my aid. I could not have asked for a better brother.”
... What Floyd doesn’t know is that this was all according to keikaku Jade’s own machinations. He would never take the order to marry lying down—but he couldn’t outright defy it without immediate consequences, either.
Thank the Great Seven Jade has reliable puppets friends to help him out of a pinch. I’ll be certain to put the additional funds we have gained to good use... Perhaps to start a little mushroom farm.

Papa Don’t Preach - F.W
Fred Weasley x Reader, inspired by the song ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ by Madonna.
About: the reader discovers that she is carrying her boyfriends baby, the two of them decide to keep it; but the storm gets heavier when she breaks the news to her father.
Theme: fluff and angst
Warnings: teen pregnancy, mention of abortion, swearing.
Throwing up into the toilet, moaning Myrtle giggled at you and sat on the window ledge. “That’s the third time this month”
You wiped your mouth with your sleeve and got up off your knees, flushing the loo you unlocked the door and washed your hands at the sink. “I’m aware Myrtle.” You answered, glaring at her before walking out.
You rushed into the common room, luckily the only people in there were Fred and George. They were messing around pretending to duel with their wands, little sparks hissing out the end.
“Have you seen my bag?” you asked, searching around the room.
The boys couldn’t hear you over their loud laughter, you stood there and put your hand on your hip, glaring at your boyfriend. “Fred, please. This is important.”
Fred and George stopped messing around and spun on their heels.
“You okay love?” Fred asked, walking over and putting his arm around you.
You shook your head no and sighed “I just need my bag”
George walked across the room and picked up your red toiletry bag. You quickly retrieved it, walking over to the sofa you sat down and rifled through it, flicking past your period pads and tampons you pulled out your mini calendar.
Fred and George sat down next to you, the two of them sharing looks of concern.
You counted through the squares, week by week and flicked the page, then another. A wave of sickness and panic pooled inside of you, you put your head in your hands and shook your head.
‘I can’t be, we used a contraceptive charm... surely it worked’ you thought to yourself, your knees shaking and your stomach churning.
“Y/N, what's going on?” George asked, his brother too worried to utter a word.
Everything started to make more sense: the persistent morning sickness, the bloating, the all-day long nausea, your weepiness and mood swings, your breasts constantly feeling tender.
“I think I’m pregnant” you choked out, swallowing hard.
Fred felt his heart sink, feeling scared and annoyed at himself for getting you into such a scary situation.
You went back into your red bag and pulled out a pregnancy test you got from the pharmacy at Christmas when you were back in muggle London.
You stood up, putting the test up your sleeve, walking to the same bathroom, hoping Myrtle would be elsewhere harassing Harry.
“Back so soon?” Myrtle questioned you.
“Fuck off, Myrtle!” You yelled at her, losing your temper.
You walked into the empty stall, locking the door behind you. Fred waited outside as you pulled down your skirt and knickers and sat down. “Fred, put a tap on for me will you?”
Fred walked over to the sinks turning the tap on waiting for you.
You followed the test instructions and stood up, the sound of the fast flowing water made this a lot easier for you, but then again you were always needing a wee with the growing pressure on your bladder.
Flushing the toilet and putting the lid down you placed the stick on lid and walked to the tap to wash your hands. “Thanks love” you smiled at Fred.
“You know, whatever happens won’t make me run away.” Fred smiled, tucking a stray hair behind your ear. “How long do we have to wait?”
You smiled at him, drying your hands on your skirt you walked into his arms and pulled him into a tight embrace. “I’m surprised that you didn’t leg it” you joked, trying not to linger in your fear. “we’ll find out in five minutes.”
Fred stood outside the stall where the test was waiting. “Want me to get it?” He asked, pushing his hair out of his eyes.
You shook your head “it’s okay, I’ll get it.”
Walking into the stall, you creeped up on the test like it was a pest you were about to wallop. You grabbed it, your whole future, your whole worth and life would be determined by this stick.
You walked out of the stall standing next to Fred, he wrapped his arm around you. You took me a deep breath and turned the test over so it was facing you. Two blue lines in the little windows stared back you, looking at the key on the handle you got your answer; you were pregnant.
“What does it say sweetheart?” Fred asked sounding nervous.
You turned around to face him, wrapping your arms around him. “I’m pregnant with your baby Fred and.. I want to keep it.” You decided.
Fred pulled away for a moment in shock but he smashed his lips against yours, kissing you like he had never kissed you before; his pool of love spilling into you.
“Let’s go and find George, I want him to be the first to know.” Fred beamed, you nodded your head in agreement with him.
“Am I really?!” George asked, sounding like his father, he grinned at the two of you.
You nodded your head and showed him the test, George got up on his feet and hugged you and then his brother.
By 5 months your little Weasley started to move inside of you, you would jolt at first and you started to notice stronger movements and little kicks during your classes, grabbing Fred’s hand you placed it on your bump.
The students started to spread rumours and the professors couldn’t ignore it anymore, after all, you weren’t denying it.
You and Fred were forced to address the rumours, you were both scolded for being so irresponsible but you were also provided with support for your academic studies and a much needed appointment with Madame Pomfrey.
You were lucky, Hogwarts still accepted you, The Weasley’s (after taking time to adjust) were so excited for you and Fred, but you were most nervous to tell your dad; the man who always believed in sex after marriage, hated the Weasleys, and slated pregnant teens who needed help.
Fred pulled out a chair for you at the kitchen table, once you sat down he pushed it in for you making enough room for your little bump.
“Pack plenty of food on that plate, dear” Molly smiled warmly at you.
This caused Ron’s mouth to gape open “All because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean she can—“
“If I were you I’d shut it” Fred warned his little brother
“unless you want to wake up to spiders in your bed.” George added, smirking.
Papa I know you're going to be upset
'Cause I was always your little girl
But you should know by now
I'm not a baby
“So what’s with the visit?” Your father eyed up you and Fred, trying to figure out why you were home on a Saturday.
Fred sat awkwardly on the sofa, his focus shifting on various objects around the room, he feared that your father would rip his head off if he were to look him in the face for longer than a second.
“I just wanted to come and see you, I thought I’d come here instead of going to Hogsmeade for the fifth time in a row” you smiled shyly, trying to keep calm.
Starting to sweat, you fanned your face with your hand, if you were to remove your jumper showing your larger bump you’d be kicked out before you could offer an explanation.
Your father noticed the fishtail braid in your hair and smiled.
“I remember braiding your hair like that when you were a little girl, you could never sit still on my knee. You would always fidget wanting to go and play with the other little girls and boys down the street”
You smiled at such a fond memory of you and your dad, hoping that he would do the same if you were to have a little girl.
“Dad, we uh.. we’re actually here because we’ve got some news.” You opened up bravely, remembering to not place your hand over your bump.
You always taught me right from wrong
I need your help, daddy please be strong
I may be young at heart
But I know what I'm saying
“Has something happened at Hogwarts?” He asked, “have you done something?” He turned to Fred with a fast forming glare on his face.
Fred shook his head, “I—“
“Fred hasn’t done anything” you replied quickly, stopping Fred’s chance at coming clean.
“I brought you up to know right from wrong, to work hard, to respect yourself, to stay away from vermin.” Your father spoke, his words like tiny pins pricking at your chest.
You held your dads hand walking through Diagon Alley to buy the equipment you needed for your first year at Hogwarts.
Waiting in the queue outside Ollivanders a young girl with a baby bump walked past, holding out her dirt covered hands. “Could you spare a sickle or two? I’ve got nowhere to go.” She begged.
Your father pushed you out of her presence, standing in front of you “not a chance, you silly girl.” He spat at her.
You gave her a glance of sympathy and stared down at your shoes.
“Don’t have sympathy for that pathetic girl, she got herself into this mess and she shouldn’t rely on hardworking people to get her out of it!”
The tears in your eyes made your vision go glassy, wiping them away with your sleeve, Fred was quickly asked by your father to leave the room and to wait outside in the hall.
“Dad” you cried, feeling a lump form in your throat “I don’t want you to be angry or upset, I’m responsible for my own actions and choices—“
“What have you done? Tell me!” Your father began to lose his patience.
Fred stood outside the door in the hallway, pacing up and down in tears, he blamed himself - you grew up without a mother and thanks fo him you might be losing your father.
The one you warned me all about
The one you said I could do without
We're in an awful mess
And I don't mean maybe, please
“I don’t want you hanging around them Weasleys, Y/N. They’re bad news.” Your father droned on, walking you to the train.
“They seem really nice” you muttered quietly, admiring the twins getting onto the train.
“They’re too poor for their own good, Arthur has a strange obsession with muggles. That wife of his clearly has a problem closing her legs with all them kids!”
You sighed, feeling annoyed and embarrassed to even be related to the man who was dropping you off.
“I better hurry up or I won’t find a good seat” you replied.
Your thoughts spinning around your head made you dizzy, you had to swallow down the bile. “Please don’t be mad with Fred, he’s a really good guy”
Your fathers hands were bunched into fists, his knuckles started to turn white. “What has he done? Fred, get in here now!”
Fred felt he could faint at any moment but walked back into the living room and sat next to you, taking your hand in his.
“We’re in a really tough situation.” You trailed off, more tears spilling from your orb like eyes.
Papa don't preach I'm in trouble deep
Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep
But I made up my mind, I'm keeping my baby,
I'm gonna keep my baby,
“I’m pregnant.” You breathed out, feeling the weight suddenly lift of your shoulders “and I’m keeping it”
Your fathers face flushed with rage, he got on his feet and pulled out his wand but your instincts beat him to it, disarming him you shielded Fred.
“Dad please don’t do this.”
“You’ve really done it this time, girl!” Your father yelled. “Did I not raise you better? Did all those lessons mean nothing?!”
You began to shake in your shoes, but you stood your ground, Fred took himself away from your shielding. “She’s done nothing wrong!” He defended you.
“I bet you’ve done this on purpose, haven’t you? Get a beautiful young girl up the duff so no one will want her!” Your father bellowed at him.
He says that he's going to marry me
We can raise a little family
Maybe we'll be all right
It's a sacrifice
You and Fred cuddled in the upgraded double bed, his thumb circling yours as your hands glued together.
“I’m going to marry you, Y/N. Once we have this baby and get on our feet.” Fred murmured lowly, trying not to wake up his brother who laid fast asleep on the floor.
“That’s all I’ve ever wanted.” You replied, your hormones making you weep in relief.
“We’re going to have the most amazing life, mini Fred’s and Y/N’s running around.” He chuckled, kissing your head. “We can get through this.”
“It was an accident!” You yelled at your dad through tears, you gripped your bump feeling the little one kick out.
“A mistake more like!” Your dad yelled back “I was begged not to bring you up after your mother died, that was my mistake! And even worse, there will now be a bastard in the family!”
His horrible comments ripped you into pieces, the pins now turning into hot pokers.
Fred wanted nothing more than to tackle your father to the ground, to beat him senseless but he grabbed your hand and tried to control his emotions.
“We’re going to get married dad, but now it’s more common for non married couples to have kids!” You argued, trying to persuade him.
“Married! With what money! You’re more deluded than I bloody thought, he doesn’t even love you!”
But my friends keep telling me to give it up
Saying I'm too young, I oughta live it up
What I need right now is some good advice, please
“Have you truly thought this through?” Hermione bored into you, pacing in the common room.
You looked up from your books and nodded “yes, how many times do I have to explain?”
“I’m just saying it’s not too late to change your mind, you’re too young to be bringing a child into this world.”
“I’m still studying and attending classes aren’t I?” You huffed, scowling at her. “You’re younger than me!”
“But what about getting a job to provide for your child? It’s irresponsible!”
“I get it!” You yelled at her, you slammed your book shoot and tossed it across the room, storming out.
You were hyperventilating, Fred rubbed your back helping you regulate your breathing.
“You’re dead to me, now get out, both of you. Leave my house and never come back!” Your father yelled.
“Daddy please” you wailed “I really need you, please don’t do this.”
You walked away from Fred and up to your dad gripping his hand in yours, “I need my dad” you cried, searching his lifeless eyes for a response.
Papa don't preach, I'm in trouble deep
Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep
But I made up my mind, I'm keeping my baby,
I'm gonna keep my baby,
You cried your eyes out, climbing into your dads arms for a cuddle.
“Please don’t cry” he wiped your tears “what’s got you so upset?”
“I’m not ready to go to Hogwarts, I don’t want to be so far from you.” You wailed, your hair sticking to your face from all the tears.
Your dad tutted and chuckled at your silly worries “you’re going to love it once you’ve settled in, and you can always write to me if you need to.”
Your father snatched his hand back out of your grip, he picked up his wand and stared down you and Fred.
“You both need to leave before I do something I can’t take back.” He warned “NOW”
You cried all the way back to Hogwarts, Fred and George comforting you when you broke down into a mess. Hermione helped you catch up on all the work you had missed from being unable to attend classes as you got into the later stages of your pregnancy, you were about to burst at any moment.
Daddy, daddy if you could only see
Just how good he's been treating me
You'd give us your blessing right now
'Cause we are in love
We are in love (in love), so please (so)
“Mum!” Fred yelled from the bathroom, holding your hand “It’s happening!”
Laying a pool of the water that burst from inside you, you were slammed with contractions making it hard for you to get back on your feet. This was it, the moment you had been waiting for the past nine months.
Molly stumbled into the bathroom and moved her hands around rapidly, piles upon piles of towels and blankets filled the room and the bath started to run.
“Fred help me get her trousers off so we can get her into the bath.”
“Mum we can just use—“
“We can’t use magic for everything!”
After finally getting you undressed they placed you into the bath.
Fred held your hand and knelt beside you, stroking your hair and placing kisses against your temple.
“Please don’t leave me” you cried, feeling frightened.
I’m not going anywhere, love.” He reassured you.
Papa don't preach, I'm in trouble deep
Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep
But I made up my mind, I'm keeping my baby, hm
I'm gonna keep my baby, ooh ooh
You opened your eyes and looked down still thinking you were in the bath, you found yourself in Fred’s bed, wrapped in blankets with a towel over your chest.
You tried to sit up but Molly stopped you, “take it slow, dear” she said softly.
“Where’s Fred? Where’s.. where’s my baby?” You asked feeling panicky.
Before you could drive yourself into worry, the bedroom door opened and Fred walked in with your bundle of joy.
Fred now delighted you were finally awake came by your side and placed your child into your arms.
You had passed out from losing too much blood just as your child came into the world.
“Madame Pomfrey was hammering at the door, brilliant timing really.” George told you as you counted your child’s fingers and toes.
“Is it a girl or a boy?” You asked, looking up at the Weasleys standing around your bed.
“A beautiful baby boy.” Fred replied, kissing your head.
“Fabian Weasley” you smiled, looking at Molly. “Let’s name him Fabian.”

Spock being kind of betrayed by his love interest but after a bit of angst, everything falls into place and fluff is baaaack :>
Tumblr media
Spock x Fem!Reader
WARNINGS: Language, sexual situations, daddy kink if you squint
Spock is a bit of a stubborn asshole in this one. He doesn’t like being lied to and will not stop at getting the truth, especially when he knows it’s about him. Spock may be a little too personal in front of Bones, but it’s an emotional situation.
The buzz from your monitor diffused through the air, ringing in Spock’s ears. As low as it was it still brought him to groggily open his eyes. The whole room was wrapped in a soft blue glow. He sat up, hand immediately feeling the empty spot next to him.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not exactly sure how long,” you whispered, hunched over the screen.
“T’hy’la,” he said into the glow, tone sharper than he intended.
You hurriedly flipped off the monitor.
“Spock,” you said, “I’m sorry I woke you.” You tip-toed carefully across the room and crawled back under the thermal blankets. Your boyfriend have better been thankful that you were extremely cold natured otherwise the mere temperature of his cabin would drive you out of the room.
“What were you-”
“I was finishing up some work for the lab. I dreamed of it and woke and immediately I had to do it before it slipped my mind.”
He could sense your deceit in the way your voice wavered, but it also did that when you were grieving. He moved to find your hand in the dark, but failed as you began to massage his scalp.
Were you avoiding his touch? he wondered.
“Sleep, Sa-mekh,” you gently teased him with the only word that could make his scowl at you, other than ‘papa’ itself. He did like it in bed, however, as much as he denied it.
You paused, thinking of the word critically, a surge of panic leaving your hands. He could feel it, “Tell me what ails you. Who were you talking to a moment ago?”
“Myself,” you quickly yanked your hands away. “I really am sorry for waking you.”
He didn’t bother turning to face you or to further question you. It would come out eventually at the test of his impatience or yours. Something was upsetting you-he felt the raw emotion even through the follicles of his scalp. He would take more time to ponder-more time to investigate.
“I shall return to  sleep - as should you. You should participate in your work on the alpha shift singularly as your sleep cycles will continue to be disrupted therefore lowering you work efficiency-”
“And yours?” you finished for him, half joking. “Whatever you say, Commander.”
x
“I wish everyone would stop treating us like we’re married, honestly,” you said, crossing your arms in front of Doctor McCoy.
“All I know is that I’ve got an irritated Vulcan asking me to scan you. He thinks you're hiding something from me and he’s doing whatever he can to figure it out before actually asking you. Something about not letting him touch you. I tried to tell him it was normal once a month-”
You gave him a playful swat.
“Forgive me, I jest.”
“How ridiculous,” you replied and then sighed.
“That’s a man’s pride for you. It escapes no species,” Nurse Chapel said handing you back the report.
“And as you are hiding something, I’m guessing, I suggest you go on out with it. He’ll tear the ship apart finding an answer.”
“And how I think he used to indulge in smothering me in rapid fire questions. That was before our first meld,” you said, fingering the edge of the padd not having fully looked at it yet.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t tried that yet,” McCoy said, “He’s already hunted me down once. I’m not allowed to say anything, but as a favor to me-”
“Bones-”
“Keep him out of my hair and tell him whatever it is you’re lying about-”
You turned the padd to face him and his eyes enlarged, first with shock and then with mirth. He let out a hearty laugh.
“Good luck with that one. I’d say he’s gonna turn green, but that’s normal for him.”
“Have you  talked to your mother yet, honey?” Nurse Chapel asked.
x
Why would you have spoken with your mother so late an hour? Was it purposeful because he had been sleeping? Was it an emergency? Surely you would have told Spock.
He had already extracted the call log from his comm, even though the data had been private and locked under your information. You would fuss at him later he already knew, but this little inkling in the back of his mind reminded him. That raw feeling he felt through your hands. It terrified you. You were scared of something.
You were lying to him. You had lied to him. You had not been speaking to yourself. You had been speaking to your mother. He supposed he could contact your mother, but you two had never formally been introduced and some parties might find that offensive.
You were eating less and less and sleeping with him less and less. You weren’t being as intimate as you usually were either and that was most alarming. Not because it was a requirement to Spock, but because it was a deviation of your behavior. Spock didn’t usually adopt Terran colloquialisms, but once after sucking him off in the lab in the middle of a gamma shift he called you a ‘dirty bird’. He always made you blush when using Terran phrases and slang.
Was it something he did? It seemed he was always doing something, but Spock could honestly not place something accidentally offensive or insulting he might have said. You were pretty good at pointing out when he was too candid or too critical. He was good at pointing out when you were too emotional and too...well too human.
Yet he relished in every bit of that-and so did you, or so he thought you had.
So what was it?
Spock didn’t chew on his nails, but found himself letting the edge of his thumb rest in his teeth.
A familiar warm hand clapped him on the shoulder.
“Look alive, Spock,” the captain playfully chided.
“I assure you captain I am in no way deceased.”
x
You were pregnant. It was that simple. Yet, it didn’t feel simple at all. You wouldn’t hardly let Spock even touch you for fear of finding out. You were terrified of his response.
You were puking in the bathroom and had called your mother immediately. It was the second week in a row and Christine’s labs proved it.
You had a bun in your oven. You could see Spock giving you the quizzical brow at the use of the expression. You could see yourself fussing a little, telling him you knew that he knew exactly what that phrase meant and to stop acting like he didn’t.
It was true what you had said to Bones.
You two weren’t married. It was perfectly normal to have a child out of wedlock- that was, on Earth. You hadn’t even met his parents. What would they say? It would only be a fourth Vulcan. He didn’t speak fondly of his father and whenever prompted you could practically read how sour their relationship was. His father had to be fond of humans to some extent-his wife was human after all.
Would other Vulcans shame Spock? Would they shame your baby?
You heard a buzz from the comm. You got up out of bed and walked over.
“McCoy to Yeoman L/N.”
“Yes, doctor?”
“I’ve got a green-blooded devil down here demanding your presence.”
You groaned into your fist.
“You can’t make me.”
“Please.”
It was the first time you ever heard Spock say that. The tone was nearly pitiful as it was on edge.
x
“You can’t make anyone get a scan, Spock. She doesn’t even work in your division,” Bones said once you arrived.
“She has not been eating, sleeping, nor participating in the normal intimate recreations. Her behavior is off and her pallor has changed considerably,” Spock argued.
“That’s not of anyone’s business, Spock,” you said, appalled. He was being...so unlike himself. It was even weirder that it was in front of Bones. Spock would rather eat his hat than be any kind of vulnerable in front of...well anyone.
“He’s...he’s just worried about you,” Nurse Chapel offered politely from afar.
You groaned, “I wish everyone would just stay out of it. I’m not ready for this.”
“Well you should’ve thought about that before you...uh” Bones started but immediately stopped when you shot him daggers, “Spock, why don’t you just ask her?’
“She has deceived me once before. I do not trust her again to be candid. She is either emotionally upset with a matter and does not want to tell me because it concerns me or she is ill and is emotional about such and does not want to tell me. Either way I am...most concerned.”
It seemed Spock would be eating his own hat later. You could feel the heat rise in your cheeks. Was he really this worried?
“Spock...”
He turned to you, “I apologize for involving the doctor but I do not like it when you lie. Especially when I can be of assistance.”
You could feel water brimming at your lashes. “You’re so smart, Spock. Just so damn smart I hate it.”
You sat on the edge of one of the stretchers, tears dribbling down your face.
“Now, look what you’ve done, you ass!” Bones said angrily, “Out of my bay this instant.”
Spock ignored him and knelt down in front of you.
“I can help. And if I can’t we will find a way, ashayam.”
You looked up at him. “I am upset with something...and I am sick and it does have to do with you. Both of your guesses were right.”
You held out a hand. He assumed it was to meld, but it wasn’t so as you only placed his hand palm down on your still flat abdomen.
His eyes widened. “Y/N...”
“I know I lied about talking to my mother. I was just afraid you would find out and I wasn’t... I just don’t think we’re ready. I want to be ready, but I don’t know if you’re ready. We’re not married and I don’t want to cause trouble for you on Vulcan.”
He stared at your stomach for a long time, hand unmoving.
“I do not care what others think of me on Vulcan. I do not care what they think of my t’hy’la or my child,” he said with a tone of finality, “I only care what you think. If you are not ready I will not force you to beget my children.”
“Are you ready?” you asked.
“I do not think a parent ever truly is. My mother once spoke those words to me,” he admitted, “But it is not my say in the matter whether you choose to carry out the pregnancy. Do you wish to terminate the pregnancy?”
“No, Spock.”
He rubbed your stomach gingerly, “I am sorry for my behavior, ashayam. It was most ill-mannered of me. The mother of my child deserves better treatment.”
You placed your hand over his while it was still on your stomach, “I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t lie to you.”
“Well, well,” the doctor spoke up from the awkward silence beside his nurse, “I guess we ought to pass around cigars now?”
It seemed you both had forgot that Bones and Christine were still even there, witnessing the sappy moment between you two.
Spock repaired that easily.
“I will not allow my t’hy’la to engage in such a habit or for those surrounding her to do so. Certainly, doctor, you do not permit such unhealthy behaviors to pregnant persons.”
You laughed and Bones rolled his eyes.
Another day on the Enterprise, you thought. Another day.

first hero (one shot)
AN: Snippets of Draco as a father, and one as a grandfather. :)
Before Scorpius was born, Draco had no experience with babies or small children. He was raised an only child, and had no knowledge of what to do. His own father was never one for comforting hugs or piggy back rides or teaching him how to properly play Quidditch without falling off his broom. He wasn't a terrible father, but he was definitely not a doting one.
He would do better. Draco vowed the second he discovered Astoria was expecting, that he would. He would do everything he could for this child. Resting his hand to her ever growing bump, whispering 'I love yous' and soft French lullabies.
"Is that-?" Draco uttered, eyes sparkling with wonder.
She laughed. "A little kick, yes."
"Does it hurt?"
"No, silly. Like a baby bird fluttering about."
Astoria's health was declining. Her body was already weakening from her curse and the pregnancy seemed to exhaust her further, day by day.
"If I don't see them grow," She whispered one night, caressing his cheek. "Please watch out for them, Draco. Promise me, you will."
His heart ached at her painfully true words. "I don't want to make that promise. Maybe there's some hope...some positivity?"
"It's the truth." She shrugged. "I can't change that, Draco. You know it, even if you won't say. Promise me?"
"...I promise."
Their son was born just a few days before Christmas. He had been intended to be born after the New Year, but his early arrival was welcomed nevertheless.
"He's...so tiny." Draco whispered, staring at the swaddled infant laying against his mother's chest. He didn't dare touch the blond fuzz, like dandelion fluff on their little one's head. He was so premature, so fragile.
"Hello Scorpius," Astoria murmured, exhausted and blotchy from childbirth, but still had a twinkle in her eyes. The tiny boy yawned, nestling closer to her. "Would you like to hold him?"
Draco nodded firmly, though he was positively terrified of dropping the boy. Astoria placed him gently in his arms, and he melted as the infant squirmed and squeaked.
"Hello, little fellow." He said, careful not to shift too much. "I'm your papa, Scorpius. Scorpius..." He thought for a moment. "Have we decided on a middle name?"
Astoria shook her head. "Are you sure you don't want to do Lucius?"
"Positive." He said, watching as their son's eyes fluttered open. They were bright and blue, like his mother's. Then, it dawned on him. "Hyperion."
"Like my father?"
Draco sat beside her, kissing Scorpius' head, then Astoria's rosy cheeks. "A man worthy of his name being carried on by our boy."
"Scorpius Hyperion," She repeated, smiling. "I like it."
~•~
Scorpius proved to be a shy, but precocious child, always fascinated in anything and everything. Though he had little contact with any other children his own age, he was best friends with his parents, and even occasionally visited his maternal cousins- though by visiting really he sat in the corner, staring at a picture book instead of interacting with them. He was quiet, remarkably quiet with his cousins.
Not that they didn't encourage him to talk to them.
"How about you join them, Scorpius?" Astoria asked, laying on the picnic blanket beside her husband and son. Her nieces, Constance and Cordelia were loudly playing gobstones while Daphne supervised them. "Gobstones is fun, I'm sure they'll teach you."
Scorpius simply shook his head, pointing at his book.
"Alright." She kissed his head fondly. "What would you like to do pumpkin?"
"Braid your hair, mummy." He whispered, giggling.
"My hair's already braided, silly. But...daddy's isn't." She smirked.
"Yeah!' Scorpius chirped, popping his thumb out of his mouth. "Flowers too?"
"Ooh that's a brilliant idea!"
Draco raised an eyebrow. "What are you suggesting?"
"Your hair is so long and pretty. Perfect for braiding." Astoria said, eyes crinkling as she laughed.
So Draco stood as still as he possibly could as his son and wife braided daisies and other flowers in his platinum hair, all while holding back chuckles as Scorpius stumbled around looking for various flowers to put in his hair.
"No, no Scorpius' that's a weed-" He started, but Scorpius didn't hear him, and continued braiding, singing a made up song to himself as he worked.
~•~
"Dad?" Scorpius asked one afternoon, while Draco was brooding by the fireplace. Astoria was resting upstairs after a particularly bad morning of sickness.
"Yes, son?"
"I um," He stared at his shoes, growing anxious. "I finished all the books in mum's library."
"Reading them?" Draco asked, puzzled, though not surprised. Though he was only nine, he devoured books like sweets. Instead of playing, he would read in a cushy armchair, reading books bigger than his head. Fantasy books, muggle literature, textbooks, non fiction, spell books- anything he could get his hands on. He especially loved ones with facts.
"Almost all of them." He corrected softly. "There's the ones you have locked up."
"Ah." Draco hummed. "You wouldn't be interested in that...it's all very grim. They're all about the War."
"Please, can I?" Scorpius begged. "I barely know anything about that and I'm so curious."
"How about we read it together? There are some things you need to know that ...you won't be happy to hear."
They read the old book together, and Scorpius was silent the entire time. When they finished a chapter about the list of Death Eaters, he looked distraught.
"I'm sorry, son." He murmured, but Scorpius didn't answer. Instead, he curled up beside his dad.
"Do you still have it?" He asked finally. "The mark?"
"...Yes."
"So we were evil?" The question was so innocent, but it still hurt.
"It's ...complicated. This mark serves as a constant reminder of my wrongdoings. With your mother's help, I became a better man. At least, I think so."
Scorpius dimpled. "You are." He yawned sleepily, resting his head on Draco. "I love you."
"I love you too, Scorpius."
~•~
"Ready?" Astoria asked, fixing Scorpius' black tie. "Oh, you look so grown up." She cooed.
"Mum!" Scorpius whined. "The train is going to leave soon!"
"I know, I know. One more hug and a kiss?" She asked, and he happily obliged. Thankfully at the age of eleven, he was still young enough to not be embarrassed by hugs. Especially Astoria hugs. She kissed the top of his hair.
"I'll miss you." He whimpered.
"Be good." Draco added, patting his shoulder. "Don't cause too much trouble."
"I won't, dad. I'll miss you too." He said glumly. "Suppose I don't make any friends?"
"You will."
"Don't forget your sweets." Astoria passed the bag to her son. "To help you make friends. Remember?" She winked. "Everyone will want to be your friend if you share."
"Friendly bribery." Draco joked. "But also because of your charming personality."
Scorpius laughed nervously as the train whistled. "I should go then."
"Write to us as soon as you can," Astoria said. "We love you, sweet boy."
"I love you too." He gave them a watery smile. "Bye then." He reluctantly walked towards the train, the trunk already put away so he only had his cat carrier to hold.
Watching him slip away made Astoria's lip quiver.
"He'll be alright, Toria." Draco assured her.
"I hope the other children will be nice." She said. "I don't want his light to dim."
Draco said nothing. It was true, Scorpius was the embodiment of sunshine and love, the idea of putting him with other children who most likely knew of the rumor was not comforting. He had wanted to homeschool Scorpius, but Astoria had insisted he needed to interact with others his age. Sending him to Hogwarts still felt like bringing a unicorn foal to a Chimera den.
"He will be alright." He repeated to himself.
School was harder than they had predicted. Scorpius had made one friend, Albus Potter of all people, who was sorted in Slytherin with him. Still, judging by his letters, he was happy. The other students teased them, but they had each other.
Which was enough.
~•~
It was a grey, cold summer's day. Scorpius curled up by the windowsill, silently watching the raindrops drip down the window. Everything felt bleak and dim. Not even the birds nearby chirped their beautiful songs.
"Be brave, Scorpius." His mum smiled, her strength weakening. "I love you."
"I love you too, mum."
He had held her hand as she passed away into the night.
"Scorpius..." Draco said, voice shaky. "Please let me in."
Scorpius hadn't heard him. He continued to watch the rain fall.
~•~
They were drifting apart. Draco could sense it. He had tried desperately to reach out to his son, but nothing worked.
Astoria would have known what to do. And now...well it was up to Draco to help his deeply distraught son.
After Scorpius' reappearance, he had hoped their relationship would rekindle somehow. It hadn't, despite his stress over losing him and the brief reunion that they shared was awkward. His son was back at school and that was that. Draco wished they could have spent a longer time together, especially after he had been missing for some time.
He stirred his tea thoughtfully. At least Scorpius was at Hogwarts with Albus and his professors. Still, the idea of /why/ he ran away was perplexing.
The manor chimney moved slightly. Placing his tea down, he watched as his lanky son tumbled out in a puff of soot and floo powder.
"Scorpius?" Draco asked, rushing to his side. "What are you doing here?"
Scorpius lifted his head, collapsing into his father's arms. "I came to see you."
It had been a while since they had hugged, but Draco didn't reject it. He held onto his son, his sweet son and let him weep into his chest like he was a little boy again.
"It's Albus." He gulped, voice cracking. "He won't speak to me. Dad, everything is wrong- he avoids me, all of our classes have been changed so we aren't in anything together." His eyes were glassy with tears. "I know for some reason he's in Gryffindor now, but he doesn't even ...acknowledge I exist. It's like he hates me."
"No...no...he doesn't hate you. We'll sort this all out." He paused. "And the other kids, have they been unkind?"
Scorpius stared at him in disbelief. "They've always been unkind, Dad! I'm the son of Voldemort, remember?" He snapped, tears rolling down his cheeks. "You don't know half of the things they do. Every day. Every day they hex me, belittle me, tease me. They make me feel...worthless."
Draco felt his heart break as Scorpius' face crumpled.
"School was fine with classes and such and when I had Al with me to make everything bearable. Now I don't even have him. I'm all alone. I don't want to be alone, Dad. I don't want to go back to school. I hate it there." He took a shaky breath. "I hate it so, so much."
"Scorpius I..."
"I miss mum."
"I know."
He had to make things right.
~•~
His son had come out as bisexual the following year after his little 'adventure' with Albus. Draco hadn't understood the term at first. He had to do extensive research to fully comprehend the meanings, alongside other sexualities that were included. Sexualities and gender were confusing, even Scorpius admitted it.
He didn't understand at first. But he listened to Scorpius explain tearfully, and hugged him as tight as possible when he mentioned he was dating Albus Potter.
"I love him." Scorpius said quietly. "That's what matters the most. Not my labels...nor his."
"I'm so proud of you."
~•~
His son was married.
His son was married, and he couldn't be happier.
Watching Scorpius embrace Albus at their wedding was everything Draco could have wanted. Seeing his son love someone, and look at him with such adoration made his heart soar.
He could see Astoria's bright smile in Scorpius' eyes as he laughed, leaning against his new husband. They were both glowing with genuine happiness.
‘All was well.’ He thought, wondering if Astoria was proud of him too.
~~~~~
Draco was much more confident holding his newborn granddaughter. At least, more confident than when he held Scorpius for the first time. She too, was early and had the same expression of curiosity in her eyes. He chuckled fondly as she reached her tiny hand to grab a hold of his pinky finger. She was precious as a doll, with fuzzy blonde hair and curious turquoise eyes. What a wonder, being that small and innocent.
“She’s beautiful.” He murmured. “What is her name?”
Albus grinned, pride evident in his voice. “Astoria Ginevra.”
The second Charlie spotted Owen exiting the gate he was jumping into the blond’s arms, glad that they both had masks on to prevent him from kissing Owen senseless with hundreds of people around.
“God I missed you.” He muttered, face pressed into Owen’s neck.
“I missed you more.” Owen replied, pulling back slightly. “Where’s Maggie?”
“With Meghan. She’s visiting for a little bit so she offered to look after her while I came to get you.” Charlie explained, grabbing Owen’s carry on as they headed through the airport to baggage claim.
“Is she staying with you?” Owen asked.
“She is, but I may or may not have booked the four of us into a hotel for a few days. She leaves on Thursday so if you wanna stay after that we’ll just go back to my place.” Charlie said.
“We’re staying in a hotel?” Owen grinned, coming to a stop at the baggage carousel, his eyes focused on looking for his suitcase.
“Yeah! Mags is pumped, she loves hotels, especially high rise ones. We’re going back to mine to collect the two of them then we’ll head there.” Charlie said
“Does Meghan know about...” Owen trailed off, glancing over at Charlie who shook his head.
“I didn’t tell her, I wanted to find out what you wanted to do first.” Charlie replied. Owen smiled.
“I’m okay with telling her.” He said.
“Or maybe we just act like a couple around her and see how long it takes her to notice.” Charlie suggested and Owen shook his head.
“You’re evil.” He spotted his bag, leaving Charlie’s side for a few moments before coming back over, his suitcase trailing behind him.
“Don’t think it will take long, cause the second that front door shuts behind us I’m gonna be all over you.” Charlie grinned, taking Owen’s free hand once the younger boy was back by his side, leading him out of the airport. Owen blushed slightly.
“Can’t wait.”
-
True to his word, the second that the door was shut Charlie was shoving Owen against the wall and kissing him with so much force that he thought his lips might bleed.
“Fuck, missed you so much.” Charlie mumbled against Owen’s lips, groaning when Owen’s fingers dug into his hips.
“Char...” Owen gasped out and Charlie just kissed him harder, wanting to make up for lost time.
“When you’re done trying to swallow each other, we’re in the kitchen.” Meghan’s voice called and Charlie groaned, stepping back from Owen. He didn’t want to stop, but he knew if they kept going they wouldn’t be able to.
“We should go to them.” He said, and Owen nodded, still slightly stunned from the aggression of the kiss.
“Probably.” He agreed, but neither of them made any attempt to move, so Charlie nuzzled his face into Owen’s neck, just taking in the familiar scent of his boyfriend.
“This hotel, how is the room situation going?” Owen asked, his hand trailing through Charlie’s hair. Charlie lifted his head up.
“I booked a two bedroom suite. Margaux and Meghan can share one room and we’ll take the other.” He said. Owen smiled.
“Okay good.” He replied. Charlie raised an eyebrow.
“Why?” He asked.
“Remember your texts?” Owen smirked, and Charlie’s eyes widened at the realisation.
“Don’t be so horny.” He muttered, hitting at Owen’s arm. Owen grinned.
“Says the guy who just had me pressed up against a wall.” He retaliated.
“We can hear you, you know that right?” Meghan called, and both Charlie and Owen froze.
“We did not.” Charlie called back, and both boys decided that was their cue to head into the kitchen, where Meghan and Margaux were waiting.
“Papa!” Margaux exclaimed the second they entered the room, jumping down off her chair and rushing over to Owen, jumping into his arms. Meghan gave Charlie a look, eyebrows raised.
“So, finally got your shit together then?” She questioned. Charlie glanced towards Owen and Margaux, a smile appearing on his face when he saw the way the four year old was clinging to the blond boy.
This was how things were supposed to be.
Less than an hour later the family of four had checked into their home for the next few days and travelled up to the fourteenth floor to find their room.
Once they found it Charlie tapped the keycard against the door and pushed on the handle when the light changed to green. Margaux pushed past him, running into the room and heading straight towards the door to the balcony, pressing her face into the glass.
“Woah!” She exclaimed, standing on her toes to try to see the road below.
“Good view?” Charlie asked, placing the bags he was carrying down on the couch, before opening the door and letting Margaux out onto the balcony, trailing closely behind her as Margaux rushed over to the railing.
“Look Daddy.” She grinned as Charlie squatted down behind her, placing a hand on her back gently.
“Wow look how tiny those people are.” Charlie said, and Margaux giggled.
“They’re ants!” She replied, leaning back into Charlie.
“For someone who travels as much as she does you’d think she’d be used to it by now.” Meghan joked quietly to Owen as the two of them stood and watched the interaction.
“Especially since we lived in an apartment building in Vancouver while we filmed.” Owen replied.
“Kids.” Meghan shook her head in amusement.
“You wanna see your room baby?” Charlie questioned, and Margaux nodded excitedly.
“Okay let’s figure it out.” Charlie stood back up, taking Margaux’s hand and leading her back into the main room.
“Am I gonna stay with you Daddy?” Margaux asked, and Charlie shook his head.
“No you’re gonna stay with Meggy.” He said, motioning towards his younger sister.
“It’s gonna be like a sleepover.” Meghan grinned. Margaux pouted.
“But I wanna stay with Daddy.” She whined.
“You’ll be with Daddy until you have to go to sleep, okay?” Charlie told her, pushing open the door, revealing the room with the two double beds.
“And look at this nice big bed you get to stay in all by yourself. You can fit all of your toys around you.” He added, and Margaux frowned but didn’t protest.
“Which bed do you want Mini? The window one?” Meghan questioned.
Margaux glanced at the beds before nodding. Charlie placed her bag onto the bed, unzipping it to reveal the several stuffed toys and dolls they had packed.
“Look, we’ll put all your friends on your bed.” He said as he placed the toys out onto the bed, pulling out Margaux’s blanket last. “And your blankie, and look how nice this looks. You’ll have so much fun sleeping here.”
“And we can even sing with each other at night, or gossip about secret girl stuff.” Meghan added, sitting on the edge of her own bed.
“What girl stuff?” Margaux questioned, climbing up next to her aunt and snuggling into her arms.
“Butterflies and glitter.” Charlie joked, and Owen rolled his eyes at the reference, turning and leaving the room as a response.
“We’ll stay up all night talking about boys.” Meghan grinned and Charlie’s smile instantly turned into a frown.
“Hey! No.” He reprimanded.
“I’m joking Charlie, don’t be a party pooper.” Meghan rolled her eyes.
“You joke, but we had a full conversation a month ago about how someone wants a boyfriend.” Charlie said, and Margaux looked up.
“I want a boyfriend.” She chimed in. Meghan laughed.
“You’re four, why do you need a boyfriend?” She asked. Margaux frowned.
“Daddy has a boyfriend.” She stated. Meghan smirked, looking up at Charlie.
“Does he now?” She teased.
“Shut the fuck up, you knew that. You literally just asked if I had gotten my shit together.” Charlie said, and Meghan rolled her eyes at him.
“You didn’t confirm it.” She retorted. Charlie shook his head.
“Hey Meghan, Owen’s my boyfriend.” He stated, ignoring the flutter in his chest at those words.
“Wow! Thank you so much for telling me, that’s so nice of you!” Meghan replied, her tone thick with sarcasm.
“Don’t be sarcastic.” Charlie retaliated.
“What’s that Taylor Swift lyric? The one about looking at him like the stars, that’s you and him. It’s honestly about time that you got your shit together.” Meghan said, flopping backwards onto her bed, giggling when Margaux climbed on top of her.
“Tay’s my boyfriend.” The tiny blonde stated and Charlie sighed.
“Who?” Meghan shot him a confused look.
“Taylor Kare. Who played the young version of Bobby in the show. For some reason she’s decided she wants him to be her boyfriend.” Charlie explained. Meghan grinned.
“I don’t blame her, he’s cute.” She said. Charlie shot her a look and she rolled her eyes before sitting up, Margaux clinging to her like a koala.
“Hey Mini, why don’t we go get some food and bring it back while your Daddy unpacks all of your stuff.” Meghan suggested. Margaux smiled.
“Yeah! Can we get KFC?” She asked.
“Of course we can.” Meghan grinned, before turning to Charlie. “Want anything?”
“Just get one of those big buckets of chicken and we’ll figure it out.” He said as Meghan stood up, grabbing her mask.
“Okay. I’m stealing your wallet.” She told him.
“Of course you are.” Charlie rolled his eyes, but handed his wallet over to his younger sister nonetheless, before leaning in to kiss Margaux gently on the side of her head.
“Bye baby, have fun and be good for Meggy, okay?” He said. Margaux nodded.
“Bye Daddy, love you.” She replied.
“Love you too.” Charlie smiled.
Meghan and Margaux left, the four year old chattering away in her aunty’s arms about something she had seen in Bluey, and Charlie waited until he couldn’t hear their voices anymore to move.
“Owen?” He called, starting to head across the suite to the room he and Owen were sharing.
“Yeah?” Owen called back. Charlie pushed open the door, finding a much larger room with a large king size bed in the middle of the room, and a flat screen tv hung on the wall. Owen was unpacking his bag, hanging clothes in the wardrobe, when Charlie entered.
“Meg and Mags went to get food.” Charlie told him.
“Okay cool.” Owen replied, looking up after a few moments and frowning when he saw the look on Charlie’s face. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Remember the texts?” Charlie raised an eyebrow and Owen’s eyes lit up.
“Come here.” He said, but Charlie didn’t move.
“We’ve gotta be quick.” Charlie informed him and Owen nodded.
“Got it.”
And with that Charlie rushed over to Owen, kicking the door shut behind him.
-
They were a naked mess of sweaty bodies and tangled limbs when Charlie decided to bring up their plans for the night.
“Oh by the way, I have our date planned.” He said as Owen played with his hair.
“Am I allowed to know what it is? Or when?” Owen questioned. Charlie nodded slightly.
“Tonight. At 10:30pm.” He informed the blonde. “And it’s a surprise.”
“10:30?” Owen repeated. Charlie hummed in response. Owen sighed.
“That’s all I’m getting?”
“Yep.” Charlie murmured.
“We’re back!” Meghan’s voice called through the suite and both Charlie and Owen jumped up in fear.
“Fuck, get dressed.” Charlie instructed, tossing clothes towards Owen, before calling back to Meghan. “Coming!”
In record time they were both dressed and came out of the bedroom, trying to look as casual as possible as they walked over to the table where Meghan had placed all the food.
“Daddy, you didn’t unpack my stuff.” Margaux pouted, and Charlie placed a soft kiss on the top of her head as an apology.
“Sorry baby, Daddy got distracted.” He told her as he grabbed some food for her and put it on one of the plates Owen had brought over to the table.
“Oh gross, you didn’t.” Meghan groaned, glancing between Charlie and Owen, who had turned a bright red in embarrassment. Charlie just shrugged, a guilty smile on his face. Meghan fake gagged.
“That’s disgusting Char.” She reprimanded. Charlie shook his head.
“It’s natural.” He retaliated. Meghan hit him.
“Shut up, I don’t want to know anything else.” She said. The table fell silent for a moment, before Margaux decided to speak up.
“Daddy we saw a puppy when we were walking.” She grinned, and Charlie pulled a shocked face.
“Oh my gosh, really? Tell me all about it.” He replied, and for the entire meal Margaux rambled, telling them story after story.
-
Just before 10:30, Charlie and Owen arrived at their date destination. Owen looked up at the sign, frowning slightly when he saw it.
“A tattoo parlour?” He questioned. Charlie smiled, despite the fact that Owen couldn’t see it through his mask.
“You’ve been talking about getting a new tattoo, so I figured we could get a new one together.” He suggested. Owen’s frown melted, a soft look replacing it.
“Why is that oddly sweet?” He teased, leaning his head into Charlie’s shoulder. Charlie grinned.
“Cause I’m oddly sweet?” He replied. Owen laughed.
“That you are.”
“Do you have any ideas of what you wanna get?” Charlie questioned as he held the door open. Owen gave him a small smile, walking through the door as he answered.
“I have a couple of ideas.” He said. “Things that I think would look cool.”
“Oh yeah? Like what?” Charlie’s eyes lit up with curiosity. Owen shook his head.
“Secret. Want it to be a surprise.” He grinned. Charlie chuckled.
“Fair enough.”
After going through the basics and signing some paperwork, it was time for them to get their tattoos. The tattoo artist led them through to the backroom and for the whole time they were there Charlie and Owen didn’t once let go of each other’s hands.
The two boys left the tattoo parlour a few hours later, hand in hand and new tattoos covered in a protective cling film.
“Do you wanna head back?” Charlie questioned, swinging their hands between them. Owen sighed.
“Not really, but we probably should. It’s late.” He answered. Charlie nodded in agreement.
“True. Plus the date doesn’t have to end just because we go back to the hotel... There’s a nice comfy bed and some red wine with our names on it.” He raised an eyebrow and Owen smiled.
“Fancy.”
“Only the best for you.” Charlie grinned, and Owen pulled him close, pulling down their masks so that their lips could meet in a rough kiss.
And if it took them almost an hour to make the 15 minute walk back to the hotel then that was just between them.
-
Charlie unlocked the door to the hotel room and pushed it open, frowning when he spotted Margaux sat on the ground, staring out the window at the city lights.
“Why are you still awake Mags?” He asked as he pulled off his mask, drawing the four year old’s attention to them.
“Missed you.” She said softly, her voice wobbling.
“Oh baby, come here.” Charlie squatted down and the four year old ran into his arms, burying her face in his neck. Owen nodded towards their bedroom and Charlie gave him a small smile to let the younger boy know he understood.
“You were gone but you said you wouldn’t go.” Margaux mumbled.
“You knew I was gonna go out with Papa for a little bit, remember? It’s okay, I’m back, and I promise I’m not going anywhere. Okay?” He tangled his hand through her curls and the four year old hummed in response.
“Okay.” She agreed, her voice no louder than a whisper. Thinking quickly, Charlie decided the best course of action would be distraction.
“Hey, you wanna see Daddy’s new tattoos?” He asked, and Margaux nodded, moving back slightly. Charlie smiled at her.
“First I got this one here.” He lifted his arm to show her the heart tattoo on his ribcage, the plastic mostly obscuring it.
“And I got this one here for my favourite person in the whole entire world.” He finished, showing her the tiny cursive M inked into his wrist.
“An M for Margaux, so I always have you with me.” He said, and she peered at the tiny ink on his wrist, a small smile appearing on her face.
“I like it.” She told him. “Can I have one?” Charlie laughed.
“When you’re all grown up, okay?” He replied, ruffling her hair.
“Okay.” She agreed. They fell silent, and Charlie was just about to suggest that it was time for Margaux to hop into her bed when she spoke up again.
“Daddy?” Her voice sounded small.
“Yeah baby?” Charlie replied.
“Can I sleep with you tonight?” Margaux questioned, already leaning back into his arms.
“Of course baby. You got Mr Penguin?” He asked.
She held the penguin up and Charlie grinned.
“Great, let’s go.”
He stood up, taking her spare hand to lead her towards the bedroom, pushing the door open to where Owen was sat, already in bed with Netflix loaded on the TV.
“Papa! I’m gonna sleep here with you.” Margaux exclaimed, diving onto the bed as Owen raised an eyebrow, looking towards Charlie with a knowing look.
“Oh really? What about your bed?” He asked.
“She was sad.” Charlie pouted, and Owen just shook his head.
“Come on baby, in you get.” Charlie said, letting the four year old climb into the bed before climbing in after her, grinning when she settled into his arms, her head on his chest.
It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep, and once she did, Owen spoke up, his voice soft.
“You know one day you gotta stop letting her climb into bed with you.” He whispered. Charlie made a noise in response, his eyes never once leaving Margaux.
“One day... just not today.” He replied.
“The longer you give in the harder it’s gonna be for you. Cause I know it’s as much you as it is her.” Owen said, and Charlie sighed, his fingers tangled through Margaux’s curls as the four year old slept peacefully in his arms.
“I know.” He started. “I just...”
Owen reached out, linking his hand through one of Charlie’s and giving it a light squeeze.
“It’s stupid.” Charlie mumbled. Owen moved slightly, placing a kiss on the side of Charlie’s head.
“I’m sure it’s not.” He assured the older boy. Charlie was silent for a moment before talking.
“She’s just always been with me and has always needed me to do everything for her, and now she’s getting older and she can do all of these things on her own, and I just get worried that she’s not gonna need me any more, or she’ll decide that she doesn’t want these nights where she asks to sleep with me.” He rambled.
“You’re her dad. She’s always gonna need you Char.” Owen assured him. Charlie hummed in response, and Owen took that as a sign to change the topic, a small smile appearing on his face.
“So I’m guessing no post date make out session or red wine.” He joked, and Charlie sighed.
“Sorry.” He muttered. Owen rolled his eyes, snuggling as close to Charlie as he could get without disturbing Margaux.
“I was joking Char.” He said, and Charlie moved to place a soft kiss on Owen’s lips.
“I had a really good time tonight.” Owen whispered against Charlie’s lips and Charlie smiled.
“Me too.” He agreed.
“Do we have any plans tomorrow?” Owen inquired, and Charlie paused for a moment.
“Not that I know of. Why? Have something in mind?” He moved back slightly so that he could look at Owen’s face.
“I thought maybe the four of us could go play mini golf or something like that?” Owen suggested. Charlie smiled.
“That sounds like a lot of fun.” He answered. They fell into a comfortable silence, both boys closing their eyes, but there was something that Charlie knew he had to say. He opened his eyes and took a deep breath before speaking.
“Hey Owen?” He whispered. Owen opened his eyes, focusing on Charlie instantly.
“Yeah?” He questioned. Charlie smiled.
“I love you.” He murmured. Owen smiled, rubbing his nose against Charlie’s.
“Love you too Char.” He replied. Charlie shook his head.
“No... I’m in love with you.” He clarified. Owen’s jaw dropped slightly, but he recovered quickly.
“I’m in love with you too.” He returned, and Charlie lent in to kiss him gently.
“It scares me.” Owen whispered once they pulled apart. “How much I love you.”
“Honestly, me too. But we’re in this together. And I love you as much as you love me, so don’t overthink it, okay?” Charlie replied.
“Okay.” Owen agreed.
“We should get some sleep.” Charlie said after a moment and Owen nodded, placing once last kiss to Charlie’s lips.
“Sounds good. I love you.” He whispered, and Charlie could already feel himself drifting off as he whispered a response.
“I love you too Owen.”
Heaven Sent; Part 2
Jin x Reader
Genre: Angst, hurt/comfort, fluff
Warnings: None to note.
Tumblr media
A month in and the grieving process hadn’t gotten any better for you. In fact, it seemed to get worse. You were barely eating, barely showering, and barely taking care of the house. The only thing that was keeping you going was the reminder that Aera needed you, and that was only barely helping.
Your family and friends had been doing their best to try and be there for you, but you had begun to isolate yourself from them. You didn’t mean to, it was just easier to do that than to have people pitying you and trying to tell you how you should grieve, especially since you still had a daughter to take care of.
The fact that you didn’t want to be around anyone didn’t stop your parents from checking up on you almost daily though, which is why your head instantly began to hurt when you heard a knock at your front door.
“Y/N-ah,” you heard your mother Chae-won shout. “We know you’re in there!”
“We just wanted to check on you,” your father Ji-tae call out. Sighing heavily, you pulled yourself up from the couch and walked over to the door, grasping the handle and yanking the door open.
“There? You happy?” You snapped, not waiting for them to reply before you were turning around and heading back to the couch.
“No, we’re not happy,” Chae-won sighed as she walked into the house, your father following behind her and shutting the front door. “Why aren’t you answering our calls?”
“I’m grieving,” you replied simply, flopping down on the couch.
“Where’s Aera?” Ji-tae wondered.
“Aera!” You shouted out, fast little footsteps accompanying your words as Aera bolted into the living room.
“Papa, Nana!” Aera squealed, rushing over to your father who swooped her up into his arms and pressed multiple kisses to her little cheeks.
“God Y/N, you look like you haven’t eaten in days,” your mother whispered as she sat down on the edge of the couch next to you. “Maybe even weeks.”
“Haven’t been hungry,” you shrugged.
“And Aera?” She wondered and you whipped your head to the side, your glare hard and intimidating.
“What kind of mother do you think I am?” You demanded to know. “Does she look like she’s lost weight to you?”
“No,” your mother shook her head. “You’re just so deep in this depression, I couldn’t be sure.”
“I may be falling apart at the seams because I lost the love of my life, but my daughter is still my whole life and I’d appreciate it if you could remember that,” you snipped and your mother nodded her head immediately.
“Ji, why don’t you take Aera in her room to go play while I talk to Y/N-ah?” Chae-won said and your father nodded.
“Why don’t you show me some of your toys?” Ji-tae suggested and Aera’s eyes widened excitedly.
“Ok! We can have a tea party with my dolls!” She exclaimed happily, making your father chuckle as he carried her out of the living room and down the hall to her bedroom. Once your mother heard the click of Aera’s bedroom door shutting, she instantly reached out, setting her palm on your cheek gently.
“My baby,” she whispered. “It’s breaking our hearts to see you like this, you know?”
“I don’t know what you want me to say Mom,” you murmured.
“I don’t want you to say anything,” she told you gently. “I just wish you’d let us help you.”
“Why, so I can be pitied every time that you and Daddy look at me?” You scoffed lightly.
“We don’t pity you, but we are sad for you.”
“What’s the difference?” You shot back. “I just....I need to work through this by myself.”
“But-”
“It’s not going to help me to have you and Daddy, or anyone else for that matter, breathing down my damn back,” you muttered through grit teeth, trying to contain your annoyance that would surely give way to anger if you let it. “Give me my space to deal with it how I see fit.”
“Ok honey, ok,” your mother relented. “At least answer the phone when we call so that we can know that you’re alright?”
“Fine,” you nodded.
“How about if your father and I take Aera out for some ice cream?” Chae-won suggested. “It’ll be fun for her.”
“Yeah, alright,” you agreed easily.
“And I’ll stop by the store and grab you some groceries while we’re out,” she added, and you turned to look at her with a raised brow. “Don’t even bother lying to me. I know you’re running low by now and I doubt you’ve been to the store.”
“Mom, you don’t have to do that,” you sighed. “I’ll go while you guys have Aera.”
“You sure?” Chae-won checked. “Don’t feel like you need to push yourself.” You almost laughed then, because that’s exactly what you were doing. The last thing that you wanted to do was go out to the store, to face people; but you also didn’t want to be a burden to your parents, which you already felt like given the fact that you had caused them to worry about you so much.
“It’s fine, I got it,” you nodded, putting on a fake smile in order to help reassure her.
“Ok, suit yourself.”
......................................
That’s how you found yourself wandering the aisles at the nearest supermarket, taking a quick glance at the list your mom had made for you. You didn’t have the attention span or patience necessary to take stock of your fridge and assess what you needed but your mom was kind of enough to do it for you, handing the list off to you before walking out of the door with your father and Aera.
As you moved towards the section of kimchi, you took a few seconds to glance over the multiple brands available. You couldn't help but to chuckle to yourself, knowing that if Hae-il were with you, he’d scold you for even looking at the store bought kimchi. “The best kimchi is always homemade”, you remembered him telling you several different times throughout the years. It was funny how grief worked, because you never expected to be tearing up in the middle of aisle 4 over kimchi.
“Y/N?” You heard someone call and you turned your head to the right, seeing Seokjin standing there. Your eyes widened, reaching up and wiping at your eyes with the sleeve of the hoodie that you were wearing.
“Jin, hi,” you chuckled awkwardly. “What are you doing here? I figured you would’ve been back in Japan by now.”
“I uh, I actually just moved back last week,” he revealed, making your eyes widen slightly in surprise.
“Really?”
“Yeah. With everything that’s happened,” he motioned with his hand and you knew that he was talking about Hae-il. “I realized that I missed home and life is kind of short to be stuck in Japan with none of my loved ones around.”
“I get it,” you nodded in understanding.
“How are you doing?” He wondered and you squared your shoulders, preparing yourself to tell the lie that you always did whenever people had asked you that question over the last month.
“I’m doing ok,” you told him and it looked like he wanted to challenge that, if the raise of his eyebrows said anything, but he didn’t. A few seconds of awkward silence passed between the two of you then, before he suddenly spoke up again.
“It was the kimchi, wasn’t it?” Jin asked and your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“What?”
“Before I called your name, you were crying,” he said softly and you immediately began to shake your head.
“I wasn’t.”
“It’s ok, I’m not judging you,” he replied gently before a small smile came across his face. “You were thinking about Hae-il and his crazy agenda against store bought kimchi, weren’t you?”
“Yeah,” you confirmed breathlessly. “You knew about that?”
“Knew about it? Where do you think it originated?” Jin laughed. “When we were in college, there really wasn’t space to make kimchi the old fashioned way so we had to buy the store kimchi and Hae absolutely hated it. It got to a point where he stopped eating kimchi for almost the entirety of our college career, except for when we went home for holidays.”
“That sounds like Hae,” you giggled. “Over-dramatic as all hell.”
“Ridiculous,” Jin chuckled. Another silence fell over the two of you, but it wasn’t as awkward as before.
“Well, I should finish this shopping so that I can get back home before my parents bring Aera home,” you said.
“Alright. Tell Little Heart that I said hi?”
“Sure,” you nodded, moving to turn away.
“Y/N?” Jin called and you turned back to him again. “If you ever need anything, anything at all, you can call me.”
“Jin,-” you started to say but he shook his head.
“Don’t feel pressured or anything,” he assured you. “I’m not forcing you. I just wanted you to know that I’m here if needed.”
“Ok,” you replied softly. “I don’t have your number though.”
“Oh! Just a second,” he murmured, reaching inside of his suit jacket and pulling out a business card. “That has both my office number and my personal cellphone number. Feel free to use either.”
“Thank you,” you whispered and Jin shrugged dismissively.
“No problem. Have a good night Y/N,” he smiled.
“You too,” you responded, sliding his business card into your pocket before turning around and walking away.
......................................
After getting home and getting Aera from your parents, you managed to get the groceries unpacked and put into their proper places throughout the kitchen. However, you noticed that it was getting late and that you needed to start fixing dinner.
The problem was though, that you just couldn’t find the energy to actually cook anything. You knew that you should (given the fact that you had ordered way too much take out over the past month) but between dealing with your parents and making an unwanted trip to the grocery store, you just didn’t have the energy to do anything extra.
Just as you moved to grab your phone off of the kitchen counter, there was a knock on your front door. Furrowing your brows in confusion, you walked out of the kitchen and through the hall, stepping up to the door and pulling it open.
“Jin?” You greeted him, confusion laced through your tone. Jin was standing on your front step, a large Tupperware box in his hands as he fidgeted nervously. “What are you doing here?”
“I know this probably seems really weird,” he started and you cut him off by nodding your head rapidly.
“Extremely,” you agreed. “Did you follow me home?”
“No, of course not,” he shook his head insistently. “I couldn’t remember where the hell you even lived. It took me 20 minutes to find an area that looked even vaguely familiar and I knocked on this old lady’s door by mistake and I still think she might come after me to kill me because I think I woke up her husband or something.”
“Jin?” You interrupted him, making him stop talking. “You’re rambling.”
“Right,” he chuckled nervously. “Well, when I saw you in the store earlier, you looked exhausted. No offense.”
“None taken,” you shrugged, leaning against the doorway and crossing your arms over your chest.
“I went home and made dinner but I always make too much because I like to cook but it’s only me at my apartment so I figured that you and Aera might like some,” he summed up.
“Jin, you didn’t have to go through the trouble,” you sighed heavily.
“It was no trouble at all,” he assured you. “I make way too much, remember?”
“What is it?” You wondered.
“Some samgyeopsal and japchae,” he said as he extended the Tupperware towards you, and you straightened up as you took it from him.
“Aera’s favorites,” you smiled lightly. “That’s a coincidence.”
“It really is,” he laughed. Just then, you felt tiny hands pushing your leg to the side and when you looked down, you saw Aera pushing her way into the doorway as well.
“Hi uncle Jin!” She cheered and Jin grinned widely as he bent down and held his arms out, Aera falling into them immediately.
“Hi little heart,” he cooed, taking a second to press a quick kiss to the side of her head before pulling away from her. “How are you?”
“Good! I had ice cream today with my Papa and Nana!”
“Did you get our favorite?”
“Yep, strawberry!” She nodded and Jin chuckled. “Why are you here?”
“Oh, I just brought you and your mommy some food,” he shrugged. “Some  samgyeopsal and japchae.”
“That’s my favorites!” She chirped excitedly, making you laugh at her.
“I know little heart,” he nodded.
“What do you say to uncle Jin love?” You reminded her gently.
“Thank you!” She told him, leaning forward and kissing his cheek.
“No problem,” he replied before standing up straight again. “Well, I should get going.”
“You don’t want to stay for dinner or anything, do you?” You offered, remembering your manners and he smiled while shaking his head.
“No, I’m fine. I just wanted to help you out,” he responded. “See you later.”
“Bye,” you said.
“Bye uncle Jin!” Aera waved her hand wildly, making you smile as you turned around and guided her back inside of the house, shutting the door behind you.
that time palpatine screwed up (and the galaxy was a better place for it)
Look. I know this idea is shit. I tried to give the idea away. Instead whenever I’m still for more than 30 seconds I start thinking about it. So here.
In another world, when Sheev hears the rumor of a strange pre-Jedi artifact, he doesn’t go to collect it himself. He sends someone who never returns and then decides to handle it later after his Empire plans reach fruition. In this world, however, he goes himself.
He finds the artifact on a dangerous world just beyond the reach of the Republic. The artifact activates upon touch.
The world grows large and scary around him.
A day or so passes without contact. He’d left his crew behind, not wanting to share what he was doing. One of them contacts the Senate for help. The 501st is closest.
(That was by design once. Another chance to connect with Anakin and pull him further into Darkness).
Anakin and his men search the planet. They do not find Palpatine. Anakin does find a Force-sensitive child whose eyes turn yellow when he cries.
A toddler is using the Dark side. He can’t kill a toddler. He isn’t sure he can give the child to the Jedi either, not if he is accessing the Dark side.
“What’s your name?” / “Zee” / “Zee?” / “NO! Zheeeeeeevuh.” / “Zhiva?” / “No!” / “Okay, Little Z, why don’t we try again after you’ve had a nap?”
Zee ends up sticking as the name everyone uses though as anything else leads to frustration and occasionally tears.
(Sheev knows he isn’t supposed to be 2 or 3 years old. He knows he has big plans. When he dreams, he remembers being big. But when he wakes, the memories waft away. He’s smarter than a toddler should be, but his brain cannot contain his adult mind so it all remains just out of reach. That’s more important than a name.)
Anakin and the 501st continue looking, but Palpatine is nowhere. He’s called back to Coruscant to report and join planning for what to do next. General consensus is that he’s been abducted by Separtists.
The Senate has not yet released that the Chancellor is missing.
Anakin contacts Padme about Zee and explains. “I can’t give him to the Jedi, not if he’s using the Dark side, but I can’t just leave him untrained and I’m not giving him to Dooku, Maul, or Ventress. I can’t.”
Padme has an absolutely terrible idea. She asks what the child looks like. “Blue eyes. Red hair.” Padme nods. “It’d have been better if he had brown hair, but if you wanted, we could say he’s ours.” “How? And won’t everyone know then?” “I have body doubles. We could say we’ve been hiding him. I know a doctor who would lie for me. But you’re right--if we did this, everyone would know about our marriage. How important is it that you keep this child safe and away from the Jedi? How else could we justify having him? If we tried to pass him off as an ordinary orphan, he’d have to go into the system.” Anakin is silent for a long moment. Then he asks, “What about the hair color? You said brown would be better.” “No one knows what your family looks like. Tell them your mother’s hair was red.” “Obi-Wan knows it wasn’t.” “Then we have to tell Obi-Wan.” Anakin breaks. “Angel, I can’t--” “How important is Zee?” Padme asks quietly and Anakin sighs. He can’t leave this strange child alone in the world. “I’ll try to meet with him before we reach Coruscant and explain.”
He does.
Obi-Wan stares at Anakin and feels the pinch of a headache between his eyes. “I honestly don’t know where to begin.” / “I shouldn’t have said--” / “No, I’m glad you told me. I just need a moment. You’re married?”
“This is a terrible plan,” Obi-Wan says flatly as he watches Zee sleep. “Padme came up with it,” Anakin argues. “That doesn’t make it better. I’m just more disappointed.”
In the end, however, he agrees to help by not contradicting Anakin’s claims about his mother’s hair and supporting the story that Padme was pregnant years ago, but complications demanded bed rest.
With the support of her family, handmaidens, a doctor, two Jedi, and a marriage license, the galaxy believes Padme’s claim over the child.
The upside is that everyone who thought they knew the difference between Padme and her body doubles are now uncertain in their ability to tell them apart.
The downside is that the galaxy takes one look at the two Jedi who claimed knowledge of her pregnancy and collectively decides Obi-Wan with his red hair is the more likely father.
Every refutation only makes them more certain. They could conduct a paternity test, but then their lie would be revealed.
The Jedi Council is not pleased with either Anakin for marrying Padme or Obi-Wan for possibly fathering her child. If they let the Council meet Zee, then Obi-Wan could possibly be absolved, but then the Council might discover Zee is Force-sensitive or, worse, that Zee accesses the Dark side.
(Obi-Wan to his growing dismay agrees that Zee does not belong among the Jedi. He trusts them more than Anakin, but agrees that they’d have no idea what to do with a possibly Sith toddler. Obi-Wan himself is entirely unsure what to do.)
Meanwhile, the Chancellor is still missing.
A report arrives that Dooku’s ship passed through the sector where the Chancellor went missing. It is a thin lead, but the only one they have. Consensus unwisely grows: Dooku abducted the Chancellor.
Meanwhile, Padme is getting really tired of all the press about her loose morals and journalists demanding she just admit Obi-Wan is Zee’s father. She smiles gracefully against the barrage, but Zee is exhausting and when he’s upset, her own emotions fall off-kilter (a side-effect of the Dark side, Obi-Wan explained) and one day she just snaps, “Shmi, Anakin’s mother, had red hair. He could be Zee’s father.”
She realizes her mistake as soon as the words pass her lips.
The press takes her statement as confirmation that she is bedding both Anakin and Obi-Wan. Since Anakin and Obi-Wan don’t seem to hate one another, however, a new rumor begins...
Clearly the three are a triad.
The Holonet starts spawning image after image of “proof.” Any smile or casual touch that has ever happened among the three is now evidence of their long-hidden love affair. The false names on the marriage license are explained, by these apparent experts, as a clever way to include all three partners in a Naboo-style wedding.
Meanwhile, Dooku learns from his spies that he has apparently abducted the Chancellor. As he has not, he is concerned.
But! He decides to use the disappearance to create a trap. He’ll pretend to have the Chancellor to lure some Jedi in and then kill or ransom them.
(This is when the rest of the galaxy learns Palpatine is missing.)
Obi-Wan, desperate to get away from the press and disappointing looks of the Council, volunteers to spring the obvious trap.
(Anakin wants to go. Padme points out that she cannot handle Zee alone. One of them has to stay with her. ....this has not helped the rumors about them being triad).
Obi-Wan gets to Dooku and demands to see the Chancellor. Combat ensues until Obi-Wan wins and Dooku, cuffed, admits he doesn’t have Palpatine.
He returns to Coruscant with Dooku and brings him before the Jedi Council. Dooku doesn’t reveal anything of import beyond his own lack of knowledge, but his capture does prompt a larger investigation.
While investigating into Palpatine to try and figure out who would have abducted him, a joint taskforce of the Senate and Jedi discover that he’s been orchestrating the entire war and that he’s a Sith.
Meanwhile, back at Padme’s, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme have been caring for Zee. Trying to help Zee control his emotions leads to Anakin figuring out how to better control his own; he sees his own issues more clearly when he finds them in someone else.
Padme is the one to explain that Zee needs to call her and Anakin “Mama” and “Daddy” or “Papa” for his own safety.
Zee, the little troll that he is, calls Obi-Wan “Papa” in public once when journalists are pressing a bit too close. It is uncertain if he did so because he felt unsafe and was just taking Padme’s earlier explanations to heart or because some deep (adult) part of him dislikes Obi-Wan and enjoys causing him pain.
Naturally, after that, there is nothing Anakin, Padme, or Obi-Wan can say to allay the rumors.
Meanwhile, with Dooku captured and Palpatine’s treachery revealed, the war is quickly brought to a close.
Anakin wants to rage about his former mentor, but is mindful of Zee and instead goes to Obi-Wan and Padme for help handling his sense of betrayal.
Zee has a horrible tantrum when peace is announced, though none of them can understand why.
Then Padme learns she is pregnant again.
The Council recommends that Anakin and Obi-Wan leave the Order. Anakin’s hurt for himself is lightened by his indignation for Obi-Wan. He apologizes, but Obi-Wan accepts his dismissal with a tired smile. The war is over. Zee is a difficult child to manage and Padme is pregnant. “The Force is guiding me to where I’m needed,” he says.
Anakin is especially grateful he stays when Padme learns she is having twins. (With no reason to hide now, she receives proper medical care).
Padme, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Zee return to Naboo where Padme’s family insists on a proper wedding for the three.
Obi-Wan is surprising sanguine about this. He says that he isn’t going to leave them and isn’t like he has anywhere else to go. A marriage is a promise; it needn’t be a romance. Besides, he has utterly given up on correcting the record.
So they get married all three of them.
When the twins are born, Anakin and Padme rope Obi-Wan into helping. As their husband, he is equally responsible they claim. Obi-Wan argues for the fun of it, but accepts that he will be “Papa” to Anakin’s “Daddy” and Padme’s “Mama.”
By the time the twins are a year old, their marriage is both promise and romance. Shared exhaustion, worry, and joy grows the love among them. The occasional grounding touch turns to comfort turns to desire. This is not the life any of them imagined having, but resistance is both painful and futile.
Obi-Wan doesn’t mean to fall in love with Anakin and Padme; it is an accident. But once he is in bed with them, Padme pressed against his front, Anakin’s forehead nearly touching hers, his leg hooked over Obi-Wan’s---and he’s watching them breathe as they sleep, he feels deeply at peace, like, after years of wandering and hoping, he has finally found where he belongs.
Years go by. Zee learns to use the Light side, but the Dark calls to him, especially in his dreams. He discovers that he is very, very good at manipulating others.
Maybe his parents instill enough of a moral compass within him that he uses his talents for the good of the galaxy.
Or maybe, as he grows, he discovers the adult he had once been. Maybe he resists, chooses to be Zee instead of Sheev. Or maybe he gives in. Becomes Sith.
Maybe, one day, Zee disappears just as a new, terrible power is rising.
Maybe, one day, while fighting back, Luke learns he is dueling his long-lost, presumed-dead older brother.
Or maybe Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padme learn that Zee is actually Sheev with his youth restored. And, maybe Anakin goes out ahead, sacrificing himself in an attempt to get through to his one-time mentor and son.
Good, of course, ultimately wins out, but at what cost?
KuraNeon Short Fic
Okay, this is one of my longer tumblr short fics, it’s 1000+ words.
Rated M because of lemon. Pairing: Kurapika/Neon
This is not the full length of the fic, the full version will be completed and posted on AO3 when I have the time.
Before anyone starts complaining about their age, Kurapika and Neon are born in the same year. In the current arc, Kurapika is technically 19 years old. I have had people complain about Neon being underaged (people deadass think she’s 12 to 16 tf), but then they go ahead and sexualise Kurapika because “he is an adult because he’s 19”. You can check it here.
Anyway, it’s fiction. Don’t take it seriously. I will just block anyone who tries to start a drama over drawings and fanfics.
Warning: sexual content, hate-sex, angry sex, angst, mentions of daddy issues
Tumblr media
Here we go:
Kurapika wanted to stop this... Whatever they were doing. Yet his reasoning flies out of the window whenever he sees Neon in a flattering night attire.
Here he was, shirtless, with the woman sitting on his lap. Her spaghetti-strapped blouse was pushed down, her breasts exposed to him.
"I told you not to tempt me," he said. He licked her nipple and bit it lightly. Neon let out a small groan.
Kurapika had attempted to tell her that this dirty affair they had was inappropriate and unbecoming of them. Yet, for the past week, Neon had been giving him subtle flirtations and wearing clothes that showed off her skin (as compared to the baggy ones she normally wears).
The last straw was her talking about his Scarlet Eyes... while fondling the chains on his hand.
No.
That had to stop. For one, she was teasing him. Secondly, she recently found out about his Kurta identity - she was pissing him off on purpose to get "punished".
That woman should know her place, objectifying his clan's eyes like that.
He placed small kisses on her neck, then back again to her breasts. She shivered - it felt good.
"Are you happy now? You spoiled girl," he muttered against her breath sternly. She yelped when he slapped her ass.
Huh? That's weird.
His hands got underneath her skirt. Fuck. This girl wasn't even wearing a pair of underwear. She really wanted to get hate-fucked. By him. Again.
His fingers found her sex, all dripping in her arousal for him.
"So good," she mewled. She quivered under his touch.
Of course, she was satisfied, but never happy. There was a difference.
He inserted another finger.
Neon had always been like him - an empty vessel. Perhaps, even lonelier than him.
"M-more!" she moaned, demanding to be satisfied.
"Always wanting to be pampered," he huffed. What a greedy girl.
A father who exploited her fortune-telling, for fame and power; in exchange, he'd buy her all the things she wanted. The endless indulgence of material goods that she filled her heart with, yet it can never be full.
Ever since the Lovely Ghostwriter was stolen from her, the one thing that made her useful to her father... It was gone.
"You can never be satisfied, Neon," he said.
"Yet, you still do this with me," she countered, playing with his blond hair. She gripped Kurapika's hair and looked at his now-reddened eyes. Those eyes were beautiful... that held so much wrath and danger.
She had loved them when they were on a set of casing...but to see them on a deranged man when he takes her... it was... strangely exciting.
Kurapika said nothing, only kissing her in response.
Shut the hell up - he thought. He didn't like when she played mind games while they were doing this.
The kiss tasted sweet - so much turmoil in him, that he wished that a kiss could wash it all away. Wash away all his painful memories.
She snaked her hand into his pants. He hissed at the contact. Fuck. He needed this.
She giggled at his reaction, seemingly pleased, but her eyes said otherwise. Her father no longer paid attention to her, and it was obvious that she was trying to replace this by letting her head bodyguard (who was the same age as her) fill her.
She inserted his penis into her, squealing. God, Kurapika disliked her high-pitched voice whenever she complained. Yet, the noise that she makes during sex was what rubbed his ego - pleading, squealing, mewling, moaning as he rammed into her.
He halted for a moment, to lay her back against the bed. Then slammed himself again. Neon screamed, then covered her mouth alarmingly. He was enraged, she could tell. She really got onto his nerves, with her callous comment.
That disgusting hobby of hers. Collecting dead body parts that reflected her lack of sympathy towards the dead. Again, to fill that empty husk of her beautiful body. To treat people like objects because people see her as a predictive tool. A mere object.
She was her father's cash cow, the mafioso's crystal ball, another name in Chrollo's book and now, Kurapika's personal sex doll.
He removed her mouth. He wanted to hear her. She bit her lip, attempting to be quiet as possible.
He knew this. He wrapped her arms around her lower back, giving a new angle to ride her further. She yelped, in both surprise and ecstasy.
"Slow... Down..." she pleaded, her fingernails digged his shoulders. He said nothing.
"Papa... Papa might - ah!- hear us," she reasoned to him.
But he did not listen.
"I think - ah fuck!- he already... He knows," he said.
It was an open secret around the Nostrade mansion. It was not far-fetched for the young pair, who were equally lonely, to get caught into some odd agreement. She did expect her father to have some sort of reaction, though?
Neon's eyes watered slightly. Whether it was due to her being upset with her father's nonchalance, or Kurapika's roughness - Kurapika was unsure.
Kurapika did help Light recover from their financial slump by redirecting their mafioso business into something else. Perhaps it was some sort of sick reward Kurapika has earned when he chose to help them.
He brushed away the mascara-stained tears from her face. "Stop crying," he commanded, and gave a deep thrust that caused her to yell.
He did know she was going through a tough issue. But it can never be compared to him, his loss. The eyes of his clan gouged out just for people like her to enjoy them as displays. He should be the one crying, but there were no more tears left for him to shed.
He then remembered her hobby - why he was here in the first place. He began to incorporate his resentful energy into the form of pulsating desire, pounding into her mercilessly.
"Give it to me..." she begged, holding him tightly while her toes curled.
Her whole body started to shake.
So close...
Just a little more...
Then he stopped.
Neon immediately glared at him. It was one of his punishments again. To give her all the pleasures into a peak then abruptly crashing it into such a non-climatic disaster.
He laid on her side, brushing her messy hair off her face. They were both sticky, perspiring from their intimacy.
"Don't cry," he comforted and kissed her forehead.
Or I will give you something real to cry about, flesh collector.
She nodded. "Good girl," he said. He stood up.
He gripped her thighs, dragging her until her lower body was out of the bed. "Turn around," he commanded, and she obeyed him.
"Wait..." she protested, looking back slightly, "I want to see your eyes while you-" He gripped her hair. The audacity of this girl to still treat his eyes like a commodity... but in her eyes, he is the same. Another man in her life that sees her as an instrument.
"No. Not tonight, Neon. Look in front," he instructed.
If I catch you looking back, you're going to get it - he thought while he inserted his dick inside her again.
"I- ah!" she heaved, "I - hah - hate you..."
She managed to blurt out. He frowned. He didn't like that, be it she truly meant it or it was out of not getting what she wanted.
Because he couldn't resent her. He disliked her attitude, sheltered personality, her hobby... and worst of all, how she makes him desire her.
But it was never hatred. That was a feeling meant for the Phantom Troupe. She wasn't special enough for that.
He found her clitoris and rubbed it, all swollen and wet from arousal.
He noticed how she opened her legs slightly further to give him better access. Such hatred, huh.
"Yet... You're here," he replied. All he got was a repetition of her breathless curses and whimpers.
“Just… mmph! Turn me around…” she mumbled in the midst of the coitus.
“No-”
“P-please?”
No response. He only did her harder.
“I’ll… do anything,” she said. She looked back, rebelling against his rule. She kissed him before he could scold her. Neon stared at the glowing eyes, completely bewitched by them.
“Anything?” he questioned, and he withdrew himself out of her.
“Yes, daddy, anything-”
She pouted for an added-effect. She knew that was one of his weaknesses. Kurapika sighed.
“Okay-”
It was going to be a long night: he wasn’t done with her yet.
“Are you okay?” Ashton asked worriedly as he and Vanessa came home from dinner with Finn and Mia. He carefully set down the baby carseats while Vanessa dropped the diaper bag with a huff and face planted into the couch.
“No,” her muffled voice answered, sounding cracked.
“Do you want me to make you a hot chocolate?”
“Yes, please…”
He leaned over the back of the couch to kiss the back of her head. “Okay. Gimme a few minutes.”
He rushed to get the twins settled upstairs, his concern for Vanessa causing his forehead to crease as his eyebrows pulled together. It was like her energy had slowly been draining from her all week, and she’d finally hit her breaking point. He hated it. He clipped the baby monitor to his belt before dashing back downstairs to the kitchen, quickly making them both a cup of hot chocolate goodness.
“Alright,” he said, coming back to her still face planted into the couch. “You wanna sit up so we can talk?”
“I’m just tired…” she deflected, sitting up to make room for him, her fingers curling around the offered mug.
“There’s more to it than that. C’mon, don’t hide from me, please,” he coaxed gently.
“I’m exhausted. I don't sleep because I’m always worried about something. Did I give Mason and Bailey enough of me when they were here? Are the twins okay? Are Mason and Bailey okay? Am I being a good enough mom to all of them? Am I being a good enough wife to you? I can barely focus on anything. I don’t know how I’m gonna pull it together when I go back to work. I’m going fuckin’ nuts. I know if I ask you for a break, I’ll get it. But I don’t want to ask you for a break because what kind of mom wants a break from her children?”
He set his cup down, opening up his arms. “C’mere.”
“What?” she asked in confusion.
“Put the cup down and c’mere.”
She did so, hesitantly, letting him pull her to his chest when she got close. The warmth of his embrace had her bunching the front of his shirt in her hands, and hot tears spilling down her cheeks. “I’m so tired!” she cried.
“Shh, you’re gonna be okay. I got ya.”
“I’m a terrible person!” she continued to wail into him.
“Being overwhelmed, and needing help doesn’t make you a terrible person.”
She pulled back to look up at him incredulously. “You’ve been spending too much time with Finn…”
The pads of his thumbs brushed underneath her eyes, catching the stray tears. “What can I do to help? What am I not doing? Do I need to take more time off? Do we need to get a sitter so we can go out, just me and you? Do you need a day just for yourself?”
“I don’t know…”
“Okay. How about this. I’ll take the twins tomorrow so you can have the house to yourself. You can sleep as much as you want. Maybe go get a massage. Whatever you want. And then I’ll bring home dinner, I’ll put the twins to bed while you eat, and then we can spend the rest of the evening together just us. How’s that sound?”
“Like I’m gonna spend the whole day feeling like shit, and missing you guys…”
“It’s okay to need some time for yourself, baby.”
“I know,” she snapped. “It doesn’t make me feel less like shit, though.”
“I understand that. So what can I do to help you? What am I not doing?”
“It’s not anything you’re doing or not doing, Ash! This isn’t something that can be fixed with a day off, or a night out!”
Ashton’s tongue clicked. “Alright,” he said simply.
She sighed, pressing the palms of her hands into her eyes. “Now I’ve made you mad. Great…”
“You didn’t make me mad.”
“Yes I did. You did that tongue click thing. You always do that when you’re mad, just like Finn pinches his nose.”
“I’m not mad at you, or because of anything you did. I’m mad because I feel useless. I want to help you feel better, and I don’t know how.”
“That makes two of us,” she grinned sarcastically.
“Can I just hold you then? Can you let me do that for us?”
“Please?” she asked, snuggling back into him.
His arms wrapped around her, and his nose buried in her hair. “As long as you need.”
In the morning, Ashton got up with the twins so Vanessa could sleep in. “Hey,” she smiled softly when she finally made her way downstairs, finding him on the living room floor with the babies on a blanket.
“Hey,” he said, rising to his feet to give her a kiss. “How ya feeling?”
“Better.”
“That’s good. There’s breakfast. Want me to make you a plate and get you a cup of coffee?”
“No, I got it.”
“Okay. Got any ideas for what you wanna do today?” he asked, sitting back down while she headed to the kitchen.
She paused in the door frame that separated the kitchen from the living room. “Am I terrible if I want to take you up on your offer of giving me alone time?”
He shook his head. “No, baby. I’m gonna put these guys down for their morning nap, then grab a quick shower. When they’re up, I’ll take them out for the day.”
“Thank you, love.”
“Of course, baby. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
After putting the twins down and before he got in the shower, he shot a quick text to Finn:
Hey, mate. I’m taking the twins out later. Any suggestions on what I can do?
He had a response waiting for him when he got out.
I actually promised the kids I’d take them to the planetarium today if you wanna join us. I think they open at like 10:30.
Yeah, that’d be great! Thanks, mate.
No prob. I’ll send you the details.
“Papa!” Mason and Bailey said in surprise, running to give Ashton a hug. “Mom?” Mason asked.
“Nope, just me, and Henry and Hope,” Ashton told them.
“Ness sick?” Finn asked, helped unload Ashton’s car.
“Sort of? She’s been in a funk, so I asked her last night if she wanted a day to herself. But she kinda blew up on me for asking. But then earlier when I asked if there was anything she wanted to do today, she brought it up.”
“Shit…” Finn commented, snapping out the double stroller.
“Yeah… I’m a little worried.” Ashton went to set Hope’s baby carrier in the stroller, but the infant’s mouth twisted into a cry. “Oh, okay,” he told her, unbuckling Hope and holding her to him.
“Daddy’s girl, aren’t ya, Hope?” Finn teased lightheartedly.
“Oh, yeah,” Ashton chuckled, reaching into the truck for a baby carrier. “Can you hold her for a sec?”
“Yeah,” Finn nodded, taking Hope. “If you have a spare, I’ll take Henry and we can just leave the stroller here. I can put the diaper bag in Bailey’s stroller.”
Ashton finished buckling the carrier around him, taking back Hope and placing her in it. “Alright! There we go!” he cooed at her before handing a second one to Finn.
“Easier said than done,” Finn told him as he secured Henry to him like Ashton had done with Hope, “but try not to worry too much about Ness. Sounds like she might have a case of postpartum depression. And not gonna lie, that can be a little scary for both of you. But, you seem like you’re on the right track. Just keep reminding her that she has people who support her, and take initiative where you can.”
“Yeah… just wish there was more I could do, ya know?” he asked as they made their way across the parking lot towards the planetarium.
“Yeah, but unfortunately that’s not how depression works. Be great if it did. Be great if you could just be like ‘hey, I know you’re going through it right now, but I’m here for you’ and poof! it goes away. But, that’s not how it works. She’s gotta go through this at her pace, and in her way. Only thing we can do is just be receptive to what her needs are.”
“Yeah, suppose you’re right.”
The planetarium was full of dark exhibits with calm and quiet atmospheres, giving off the impression that you were in the middle of nowhere, just staring up into space. And while there were other families with mostly children of around Mason’s age or older, it still wasn’t that crowded for a Sunday.
They took their time, making their way slowly through a few exhibits, reading each placard aloud for Mason and Bailey who took everything in with wide, childlike wonder. “Dad?” Mason whispered in one of them.
“What’s up, bud?”
I’m hungry.
“Okay. We’re almost done with this room, and then we’ll go get some lunch. Bailey, you getting hungry?”
“Yes!” she answered before something else caught her attention. “Daddy! Papa! Lookit!”
“I see, love, but hey. C’mere a sec.” Finn crouched, beckoning Bailey towards him with a finger. “Remember what I said about using indoor voices? Do you hear how I’m talking?”
“But, Daddy…”
“I know. I know you’re excited. And that’s okay. You can be excited. But we gotta bring the volume down, okay?”
“Kay…”
“Thank you. Now, five more minutes in here, and then lunch. Mase? You hear me? 5 more minutes.”
“Dad,” he answered back, giving a thumbs up.
When the five minutes was up, they made their way to the cafeteria. “Oh, well aren’t you guys just the cutest family!” the clerk cooed, ringing them up. “Enjoy your meal.”
“Thanks,” Ashton and Finn chuckled. “What do you think that was about?” Ashton asked as they took up residence at a table.
Finn shrugged. “Maybe she’s a fan of yours?”
Ashton shook his head, looking around the dining area. “Nah… Something else. People have been staring at us all morning, and not in the ‘oh, famous dude!’ kind of way if that makes sense.”
Finn shrugged again. “Not really, no. But I’ll take your word for it. Might just be people doing that dumb double take of seeing dads actually be dads.”
“That’s closer to it. Yeah, that’s gotta be it.”
They were nearly finished with their meal when two women with two small children between Mason and Bailey’s age approached them. “Hi. We’re so sorry to both you. But we just had to say how great it is to see another gay couple with kids. Did you use the same surrogate for all of them?”
Ashton giggled into his drink while Finn’s eyes went wide. “Oh! Thank you! Truly. But we’re not a couple. Um, he’s actually married to their mom,” Finn explained.
Both women turned bright red. “Oh! We’re so sorry! The older two just look so much like you, and the little ones so much like him. And so much like each other. And we overheard the oldest call you ‘Dad’ and ‘Papa’ and… we are so sorry!” they sputtered quickly.
Ashton shook his head, stifling more giggles. “It’s okay, honestly. Honest mistake. These two are actually his, while these two are mine. And they are all siblings. So it wasn’t too far off the mark.”
“Exactly,” Finn agreed. “No harm, no foul.”
“Well, in that case, it’s great to see such a strong blended family. These are definitely some well-loved kids.”
“Thanks,” both Ashton and Finn grinned. “And it’s great to see a family like yours, too.”
“Thanks,” the woman returned. “Well, again, sorry for bothering you. Enjoy your day.”
“Same to you.”
Ashton broke out in a case of giggles once the other family was out of earshot.
What’s funny? Did those ladies make a joke?
“No, they didn’t make a joke, Mase,” Finn explained. “Those ladies thought Papa and I were gay.”
Gay is two dads and no mom?
“Yep.”
Mason chuckled. That’s silly! I have two dads and two moms.
“We know that. But Momma and Mimi aren’t here with us, so those ladies were working with the information that they had.”
Were those ladies gay?
“Not gay,” Finn started to clarify.
Girl gay. Which word is that?
“Lesbian.” Finn signed the word as he spoke
Lesbian, Mason copied. Is that what those ladies were?
“Yes.”
But they had kids. Don’t you need a mom and a dad to have kids?
“Generally yes. But remember, there are different ways for all sorts of people to have kids. When two mommies have a baby, they get what’s called a donor. When two daddies have a baby, they get what’s called a surrogate.”
I thought it was adoption when they did that.
“Yeah, that happens too. And any type of family can adopt. But when you adopt it means you don’t share any DNA with the baby. And sometimes people like to share DNA with their babies.”
Oh… do we share DNA?
“Yes. Me, you, and Bailey share DNA. And Henry and Hope share DNA with Papa. And you and Bailey share DNA with Henry and Hope through Momma.”
Oh… I have to go to the bathroom.
“Me too…” Bailey announced, wiggling in her seat.
“Alright,” Ashton said, pushing his seat back and rising to his feet. “C’mon. Think they got a family restroom in here?”
“Yeah, I think I saw one near the front. Ready, my love?” Finn asked with a grand gesture of grabbing Ashton’s hand.
“Lead the way, baby,” Ashton winked, laughing. “Nessa’s gonna get a kick out of this when I tell her.”
“Oh, same with Mia. So if you hear laughter, that’s her.”
~~~
“Baby, I’m home,” Ashton announced. “Baby?” he asked when he didn’t spot her on the couch or hear her in the kitchen. “Nessa?!” He took the stairs two at a time, breathing a sigh of relief when he heard music spilling from their bedroom.
He placed the twins on the bed in their carseats before rapping on the bathroom door. “Nessa?”
“In here, love.”
He opened the door, finding her sunk down to her chin in a sea of bubbles, candles casting her in a soft glow. “Hey,” he said softly, leaning against the counter. “How was your day?”
“Good. I made an appointment with a therapist. Took a nap. Baked some cookies. And now I’m in the bath.”
“That’s good, baby.”
“Yeah. Did you bring home dinner?”
“Didn’t have enough hands. I’ll order us something, though. Anything in particular?”
“Mmm… Chinese?”
“Sure thing.”
“How are the twins?”
“They’re good. They’re still in their seats so I should probably go set them free.”
“Yeah. Oh, I made some more bottles. Fridge. Top shelf.”
“Okay. I’ll start their nighttime routine while we wait for the food. Enjoy your bath.” He crossed the room to lean down and press a kiss to her forehead.
“Thank you,” she mouthed.
He kissed her again before going back to the twins, taking them back downstairs. He put them in their boppies, before making the bottles. When he came back, Vanessa was curled up on the couch between them. “Oh, baby, I didn’t mean to rush you.”
“No, no,” she waved her hand. “I wanted to. I missed you guys.”
“We missed you, too.”
“So what did you guys do today?” she asked as they got settled and started feeding the twins.
“I took them to the planetarium with Finn, Mason, and Bailey.”
“Oh yeah! Mase has been wanting to go, and Finn said he would take him.”
“Yeah, they had fun. All of them. We’ll have to make sure to do it again sometime.”
“Yeah, that’d be nice.”
“Oh! So the funniest thing happened when we were there.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, a lesbian couple thought that it was so great to see another gay couple out with their kids.”
Vanessa laughed, and Ashton smiled, not realizing how much he had missed her true laugh over the last few days. “Oh! That’s great!” Her body shook with how hard she was laughing.
Ashton started to laugh with her. “Yeah, it was pretty funny. Kinda left Finn to fend for himself because I was trying not to laugh, but I couldn’t help it.”
“Oh! Those poor women must’ve been so embarrassed!”
“Oh, yeah they definitely were. But it wasn’t a big deal or anything. Just a small misunderstanding.”
“And a funny one at that.”
“Yeah it was great. I can’t wait to tell the guys. Luke’s probably gonna tease me for it. ‘See, Ash! I told ya it was only a matter of time.’”
“Aw, you guys have matching stories now! How cute!” And now Vanessa was laughing for a whole new reason, remembering one of the first stories Ashton had ever told her about how Luke and Cory got mistaken as a gay couple at a pizza parlor with Lily.
Ashton continued to laugh with her. “Fuck, I’ve missed you, baby,” he said suddenly, the words holding lot more power to them than just him having missed her throughout the day.
“I missed you, too.”
“No, I meant… You kinda went away from me there for a while. Scared me a little bit.”
“I know… kinda scared myself too. This is just hitting me a lot harder this time around and I’m not really sure why.”
“That’s okay, baby. That’s why I’m here. I’m not gonna let you do this alone. And I’m never gonna make you feel guilty for needing to take a step back. You gotta take care of yourself first.”
“Thank you. For today. And everything. I know I haven’t been the nicest to you recently. Especially yesterday. I’m sorry.”
“Thank you for not pushing me away this time. And there’s nothing to forgive because there’s nothing to apologize for. You don’t have to be sorry for feeling what you’re feeling. Just keep me in the loop.”
“You’ve definitely been spending way too much time with Finn. Should I be worried?” she teased.
“Oh, baby…” he winced through his teeth, teasing her back. “You haven’t heard? Finn and I are kinda a thing now…”
Vanessa fake-scoffed. “Of all the people you leave me for, you leave me for my ex? The audacity… guess I’ll just have to take Mia then.” Ashton’s eyebrows shot up and she smacked his chest with a laugh. “Oh! Get your mind out of the gutter!”
He raised a hand in defense. “I’m just saying… lil girl on girl action would be pretty fuckin’ hot.”
“Do not sexualize the bis for your twisted fantasies, mister,” she tsked, wagging a finger. “Naughty, naughty.”
“Mhm!” Ashton nodded with a grin. “And what are you gonna do about it?” His question was a hot whisper under her ear.
She shivered, smacking his chest again. “Stop that! Not in front of the babies!” she laughed.
“Guess we better speed up bedtime,” Ashton winked.
Vanessa let out another laugh then sighed. “I can’t, Ash. Six weeks, remember? Next week we can.”
“I know.” He softly kissed repeatedly at her jaw. “Glad you seem to be feeling better though.”
“Me too.”
“You’re amazing, you know that?”
“You’re pretty amazing yourself, love. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”

HxH OC Fumiko Nakamura Story ~ Ch. 11 - Hisoka and Abaki
My Stories Masterlist
Word Count: 2921
Warnings: harsh language, bullying, mild violence, blood
   Hearing the name of the resident town bully, you looked up at the boy that was now sitting up in front of you and glaring at you with a look of pure malice.
   "So it is," he snarled at you as he got to his feet. You quickly did the same in a scramble, your eyes locking with his. Upon standing, you noticed that Tsume's two lackeys, Kan and Maro, were here as well. Being large for his age, Tsume was strong in his own right. However, he never liked the idea of a fair fight and always had Kan and Maro in tow to make sure he had the upper hand at all times.
   Spotting two more people out of the corner of your eye, you turned you head ever so slightly to risk a quick glance. You needed to make sure these people weren't also on Tsume's side; because if they were, you would have little choice but to run. Five-to-one was a little more than you wanted to handle at this point in time.
   When you looked over to the boy and girl you quickly realized that these two were complete strangers. And they looked so... different.
   The girl had to be close to your age with warm, caramel brown skin and sparkling violet eyes. Her auburn hair was chopped short all round except for the right side which hung as a braid down to her collar bone. She was lean, but toned, and wore a halter top with intricate designs, harem pants in a color that complimented her top, and slipper like shoes. Shiny metal bracelets adorned her thin wrists, and she wore a fine chain choker as well as multiple earrings in each ear.
   This girl looked so strange to you, but in a beautiful and unique way. Shifting your gaze to the boy, your breath caught in your throat.
   His skin was nearly as pale as fresh fallen snow. His hair, which was longer in the front and sides but shorter in the back, was the same color as the wild raspberries you so often saw growing along the countryside roads and pathways. Appearing to look on the darker shade of red at first until the sunlight showed a hint of pink mixed in. Light colored freckles were splashed across his nose and the apples of his cheeks.
   He wore a simple short sleeved shirt with a card suit spade on it, pants that looked similar to knickerbockers, and the same slipper like shoes as the girl. He was also lean, but taller than the girl and looked to be just a couple years older than you. There were bandages scattered across him; one under his left eye, another his right cheek, even a few on his arms.
   What truly caught your attention the most about the boy was his narrow, amber colored eyes that shown like dark citrine in the light. Although, it wasn't the color of his eyes that caught your attention, it was the swirl of emotions within them.
   At the surface you could see anger and hatred, most likely towards the three creeps in front of you. However, there seemed to be so much more beneath that. It was a look so akin to the very same one you saw in the mirror every day. Sadness, internal struggle, loneliness...
   Suddenly you realized he was looking right back into your eyes with almost as much intensity as you were his. You wanted to look away, but found that you simply couldn't. Your ears and cheeks grew hot and your heart began to flutter like a caged bird.
   "It seems our old local freak has come to help out the new circus freaks," Tsume sneered. The sound of his irritating voice caused you to finally break eye contact with the boy.
   I see, you thought to yourself, so they're from the circus. Well, I guess that explains why I've never seen them before and why they're here.
   "I see you're being your usual jerk self," you said in a cold tone. Your muscles began to twitch and your heart was starting to pick up pace as your intuition told you there was a fight quickly approaching. The darkness inside you stirred in anticipation within it's cage.
   "What the hell did they do to deserve your ugly face to look their way?"
   "Tch," Tsume tsked. He appeared to ignore your insults, however the small twitch in his left eye showed you were making him angrier. "I just wanted to say 'hi' to the pretty girl. And when she ignored me I just tried to get her attention. That's when this pale redheaded freak decided to butt in."
   You glanced at the girl again and saw bruises already starting to form on her upper arm. White hot anger began to spark in your mind and the darkness began to pace within it's cage.
   "What the hell, Tsume?!" you shouted. "Just because your papa is mayor of this place doesn't mean you can go hurting or touching who ever you want!"
   "And who's gonna stop me? Your daddy?" He let out a cruel laugh. "The only thing that bastard is good for is drinking booze and beating the crap out of you. And from the looks of it, he did a pretty decent job of it last night."
   Tsume's goons giggled from behind their boss.
   "Yeah, you tell that freak," Kan jeered.
   You suppressed a growl that was trying to rise from your chest. Narrowing your eyes you snarled at him.
   "Get the hell out of here, Tsume, or else I'm gonna tell your mama how you've been treating girls again." Your gaze shifted to Maro and Kan. "And I'll be sure to mention the two of you to Tsume's mama as well."
   "Bitch, you better not breath a word to my mother, or else-"
   "Or else what, jerk ?" A toothy grin started to spread across your face. Your body began to feel hot and tingly from the sudden surge of adrenaline. "Your weak ass going to attack me again? Didn't learn your lesson not to mess with me after I broke your nose last time?"
   That did it. For the longest time Tsume was usually the one that had won the fights between you and him. But over the last few months, around the same time the darkness had began to emerge within, you had been the one coming out on top causing his hate for you to increase ten fold.
   "Shut the hell up, you stupid freak!" he yelled. Tsume sneered and charged at you, raising his fist up into the air to aim straight at your face.
   From that very moment, everything seemed to slow down. You watched as Tsume moved towards you, your eyes darted this way and that as you quickly picked out all his weak points and flaws. Scenarios quickly flashed and you calculated each best course of action until you came to the best one for the most likely scenario.
   {To slow.~}
   Just as it looked like he was actually going to make contact with your face your hand darted up and snatched his wrist.
 {Break it!}
 Squeezing it until you felt something snap, Tsume cried out in pain. You then pulled him forward while turning to keep his momentum and direction going. Releasing his wrist you continued your turn and swept your leg out to sweep his legs out from under him, causing him to become airborne and land face down onto the ground.
   You now saw that Maro had followed Tsume and was coming straight for you, lowering himself in attempt to tackle your midsection.
   {Crush him!}
   Instinct kicking in, you brought your leg straight up then down when he came into range. The back of your foot connected forcefully with Maro's head bringing him face down right into the dirt. The action instantly rendered Maro unconscious.
   Kan had started his charge just after Maro but skid to a stop just out of your range upon seeing his friends eat dirt. His eyes were wide and he was beginning to tremble.
   With the creepy, manic grin still on your face you tilted your head to one side.
   "You wanna play, Kan?" you giggled.
   Kan frantically shook his head from side to side and took a step back away from you.
   {Little coward...}
   "Aww, that's to bad,~" you pouted. You turned to face Tsume who was still laying on the ground, cradling his now broken wrist. His eyes grew wide and shone with fear and hatred as you approached him and squat down next time him.
   "You see, Tsume, you weren't wrong with what you said about my papa. However," you leaned forward menacingly, "you forgot to mention he's the best damn fighter in this area. And when you're his punching bag on as often as I am you tend to pick up a thing or two."
   Tsume snarled and spit a large, snotty loogie at your face. The projectile hit you right between the eyes and immediately started running down the side of your nose. Rearing back in disgust your hand shot up in desperate attempt to scrub the mucus off your face as quickly as possible. The action causes you to apply to much pressure to your already damaged nose and bursts of light span across your field of vision when a white hot pain shoots through your nose.
   Seeing his chance, Tsume swung a leg forward and kicked your own legs out from underneath you. The unexpected move causes you to land hard on your back, knocking the breath out of your lungs and leaving you gasping for air in a mild state of shock.
   "Get her now, Kan!" commanded Tsume.
   Kan, having seen you go down and Tsume seemingly regaining control of the situation, bolts forward to deliver a running kick to your vulnerable open side. But before Kan can deliver the blow, the red head boy charges forward and shoulder checks him hard sending Kan landing right on top of Tsume.
   "My my,~ ♦" the young man teased, an amused grin spread across his lips, "How rude, you seemed to have forgotten my friend and I have been here this whole time.~ ♠"
   The girl stepped up beside her companion with her hands balled into fists. A fire now burned in her violet eyes causing them to shine with ferocity. As you slowly climbed to your feet the girl took a fighting stance and glared down at your assailants.
   "You're out matched now, I suggest you take your friend and leave!"
   Kan had been stunned from the red headed boy's attack and was feebly moving around on the ground as Tsume had managed to push Kan off of him. Maro was still mostly unconscious, only barely showing he was coming back around with a few twitches of his limbs. Tsume himself was injured and had yet to even get back up on his feet.
   He glanced around and saw that the girl was right, there was no way he was going to be able to win this fight. Tusme gave Kan a rude shove.    "Get up, idiot," he spat his orders angrily, "Help me get Maro and let's get the hell out of here."
   The two bullies shakily got to their feet and collected their friend. Tsume was careful to hold his broken wrist close to his chest in attempt to keep it as stable as possible. Maro groaned as he was brought to his own feet. His head rolled to one side revealing his dirty scrapped up face. Blood was slowly oozing from his nose and one eye didn't seem to want to open all the way.
   "Did- Did we win, boss?" Maro mumbled aloud, still relatively stunned from his harsh impact with the ground. Tsume sneered.
   "Just shut up," he turned his angry hate filled gaze towards you. "This isn't over, freaks. I'll take care of you myself. Just wait."
   "Tch, what ever, asshole," you sneered, "Get the hell out of here."
   The three stumbled down the street, around a corner and out of sight.
   "Hmmm,~ " the boy hummed aloud as his amber eyes hovered over where the trio bullies disappeared, "Why is it that simpletons such as them make such cliché statements? ♠"
   You hadn't heard the boy's comments as you were to focused on watching Tsume and his gang. Just as they disappeared from sight you suddenly became light headed and the world spun around you. Without warning, your knees grew weak and buckled beneath you. Luckily, the strangers had been close enough to you to catch you before you hit the ground.
   "Whoa! Hey! Are you alright?! Your nose is bleeding!" the girl cried out. She reached into her pocket, pulled out a clean hanker chief and gently held it up to your nose. "Do you think we should take her to see someone?"
   The boy leaned closer to your face and looked you over carefully. You swallowed hard as you felt your heart begin to flutter again while those eyes looked over your facial features so closely.
   "That's strange, I didn't even see her get hit.~ ♣"
   "That other boy said something about her dad hurting her... Do you think you should get her to the town doctor?"
   "It probably wouldn't be a bad idea. ♣ But first,~" his eyes moved to yours, grabbing as much attention as you could possibly focus in on him while the world swam and danced around you, "you really should tighten up your ten. If you keep letting that much aura slip away you'll pass out.~ ♠"
   You groggily narrowed your eyes at the boy in confusion.
   "Let what slip away? And, ten what?"
   The boys eyes flew open in surprise. He and his friend exchanged looks then he looked back down at you.
   "You mean to tell me you've been using nen and you didn't even know it? ♦"
   You could feel a look of complete confusion take over the entirety of your face. You blink several times, trying to understand through the foggy state of your brain just what this boy was talking about. Looking over at his friend you shook you head a little.
   "What is he talking about?"
   The girl had a look of surprise as well.
   "Uh, n-never mind that for now. "She licked her lips as she tried to think of something. A thought seemed to cross her mind. "Just, what do you normally do after something like this? You know, to calm down and help focus yourself?"
   "Uuhhh," you thought for a moment as you processed what she was asking you, "I usually feel so tired and dizzy after a fight; but, once I just breathe, and force myself to relax, I feel a lot better."
   "Okay, just go ahead and do that then. We'll stay here with you until you can get on your feet.~ ♥"
   The combination of the strangers' concern and kind words brought a warm smile to your face. You honestly could not recall the last time people besides your younger sisters having been this nice to you. And you honestly couldn't recall kids your age being this kind.
   You closed your eyes and focused inward. Taking slow, deep breaths through your mouth since you nose was clogged with blood. You focus on your heart rate and gently encouraged it to return to a steady rhythm. After a couple minutes your head began to clear and the world around you began to settle.
   Opening your eyes you saw that the boy and girl were watching you carefully and almost with awe. You felt your cheeks and ears grow a little hot. You looked down at the ground and found that you couldn't stop smiling.
   "Thanks, I'm feeling better now." You start to get to your feet and they didn't even hesitate to help you. They even each hold onto an arm until they are sure your steady on your feet.
   "Really, I'm fine," you assured them while still holding the now bloodied handkerchief to your nose. "But, I really do appreciate it."
   "It's our pleasure,~ ♥" the boy replied. "It's the least we could do for our rescuing heroine.~ ♦"
   You could feel the heat on your face spread and you just knew it was turning a bright red.
   "Is your nose going to be okay? It's still bleeding," the girl asked. "I'm assuming there is a town doctor?" You nodded a response. "We'll walk there with you. To be honest, we needed to go their ourselves to get some supplies for our troupe."
   "Alright, it's this way," you turn and start to head in the opposite direction Tsume and his friends went. The boy and girl quickly fall into step on each side of you.
   "By the way," the girl said cheerfully, "my name is Abaki!"
   "And my name is Hisoka,~ ♥" the boy added with a warm smile. You couldn't help but smile back as a warm, fuzzy feeling spread through your chest and stomach.
   "It's really nice to meet the both of you! Despite the circumstances," you added with a laugh, "Oh, and my name is Sadashi!"
   "Well, Sadashi, it's an absolute pleasure to meet you as well.~ ♥" Hisoka cooed.
   "Cool the charm, Hisoka, or else you're going to embarrass the poor girl," Abaki laughed. It was a bit late for that, you honestly didn't believe your face and ears could get any redder.

Out of Sync (Part 1 of 2)
Summary:
Deku and Ochako have been married for the past 8 years and have two wonderful kids. Too bad marriage isn't easy. Ever since Deku lost his quirk two years ago, he's been in a slump. He's now a stay at home dad while Ochacko is a very popular pro-hero. The downside? Her agency works her so hard that she's barely home. Basically, Deku and Ochako realize it takes more than love to make a relationship and family work. “Deku-chan! Ahh, I’m so sorry for coming in late again, my agency has been running me wild.” Ochako looked guiltily at the floor. This was the third family dinner she missed in the last week and even though she knew her husband understood she still felt bad about it.
Tumblr media
“That’s fine,” Deku pressed his lip together into a small smile. “I know you're busy. Plus the kids and I watched you on T.V today. Toshi was very excited that his mama was so cool. Izuku turned his attention away from his wife and towards the dishes.
Ochako felt uneasy. Was something wrong? Did she do something? She had been getting more popular lately and was away from home more often than not. “Hey is everything okay?” she asked cautiously.
“Everything’s good.” Izuku continued to focus on the dishes. Ochako knew something was wrong, but she was too tired from a long day of hero work to do anything about it right now.
“Okay then. Let me know if you need me then.” she lingered for a moment, hoping Deku would speak up. He used to be an open book. She remembered back when they first started dating there were no secrets between them. It made her feel good knowing she could hold his heart in her hands. She missed that, things weren’t the same lately.
“I’m fine Ochako, you have an early day tomorrow and should probably turn it. Don’t worry I can handle the fort here, you worry about all the citizens that need you.” She opened her mouth to protest, to say something, but the words didn’t come to her. She didn’t know what to say to him anymore. The last two years had been the hardest of their marriage and she sometimes wished she could take a time machine back to when they were in sync. For now, all she could do is get some rest and do it all another day.
Ochako woke up to find her husband still asleep next to her. She loved seeing him like this. He looked at peace. Ever since his fight with All for One two years ago, he had been tense. She knew why. It’s not easy losing your quirk and your dream, but she wondered how much longer it would take for things to get back to normal. The man she married was bright-eyed and determined. That’s what she admired about him, the light in his eyes inspired her to work hard and become a great hero. She missed that man.
Deku woke up to a cold bed like every morning. He missed having Ochako beside him when he woke up. He would trace circles on her stomach and she would giggle and tell him to stop because it tickled. Back when he was at his agency they would wake up at the same time and race to see who could get into the shower first. Sometimes they got in together and took a little too long to get ready. He missed those times.
“Daddy! Daddy!” he heard his son bang on the door to his bedroom.  “Hey, pal? You’re up early today.” he opened the door which caused his five-year-old to race past him and start jumping on his bed.
“Daddy look I can float just like Mommy!” he closed his eyes and touched his fingers together hoping something would happen, but nothing did. Izuku hoped that his kids would get Ochako’s quirk. He knew how hard it was to be quirkless and hoped his children wouldn’t inherit the same fate.
“It’s okay buddy, you’ll quirk will come in soon.” he smiled at his son. He hoped his words would ring true. He took Toshi off the bed and went downstairs to start making breakfast. Pancakes because his kids both had a sweet tooth and today was Sunday. It was a shame his wife had to work this Sunday as well, he never got to see her anymore. He finished making pancakes and went up to wake up his toddler.
“Hikari sweetie? Time to wake up.” His two-year-old daughter protested a bit, but with some encouragement got out of bed. Hikari was just a newborn when the incident occurred. He felt bad thinking about how much Ochako had to deal with back then. She had to not only take care of the baby but him as well. He was a mess after that fight. All for One’s dying face was ingrained within his mind. Losing One for All was the hardest on him though. He wished he was able to handle it better like Mirio when he lost his quirk, but he just wasn’t strong enough. One for All wasn’t just his quirk, it was his last connection to All Might and now that was gone too.
“Papa!” Hikari stretched her arms up indicating she wanted to be picked up. He picked her up and carried her downstairs to eat with her brother. Taking care of these two was the light of his day and he loved discovering pieces of his wife in them. He still missed Ochako, she was there, but she also wasn’t. Of course, she was a big hero, but he wanted to hold his wife. He couldn’t tell her that though, she needed to focus on saving people.
Work was particularly difficult for Uravity today. It was only noon and there had already been a villain attack and rescue mission. She was looking forward to eating lunch alone and video calling her kids. Izuku made it a point to pack her lunch for the last few months and looking at his note in her bento was always a highlight of her day. She still wished Izuku would take some time to talk to her, but for now, she'd settle for his little notes. Today’s note was a hand-drawn picture of Toshi and Hikari making a heart with their hands with the words miss you inside. She missed them too. Pro-hero work had been demanding the last few months and she barely had time to spend with her kids. Hikari didn’t even call her Mama, just Uravity because that’s what she saw on T.V. Izuku has been working on it with her, but no luck. Today was Sunday and she wanted to hug her kids more than anything, but for now, she would have to settle for a video call. Lately, she's had to settle on a lot of things.
“Uravity? You’re supposed to be at the agency briefing!” one of her colleagues called out to her from across the break room.
“Briefing? I’m on lunch break and I was about to call my ki-” she tried to protest, but before she knew it she was being dragged out by the will of her colleagues' quirk.
Izuku sat with his kids in front of the T.V which was showing footage of Uravity’s recent save.
“Look, baby, it’s Mama,” he pointed at Ochako hoping Hikari would take notice.
“Uravity!” she giggled enthusiastically.
“Yes Uravity is Mama’s hero name, but you have to call her Mama okay?” They had this conversation about 1000 times already, but she didn’t budge. It didn’t help that Ochako’s agency barely gave her time off to spend with her kids or him. He missed her so goddamn much. He didn't tell her that though, she was busy being a great hero and he was busy feeling sorry for himself.
“Mama is so cool, she’s the best hero. She gets to help save people every day. I want to be just like her!” cheered Toshi causing Izuku to smile. He loved that his son was an Uravity superfan, it reminded him of how he was with All Might back in the day.
“Work hard and you will be a great hero just like Mama.” he patted his son's head, but for some reason, the boy looked dismayed. “What's wrong?” he got on his knees to meet his son’s eye level.
“Nothing. Mama and Shou-chan said I’m not allowed to say.” admitted the boys who focused his attention on the ground. This caused Izuku to let out a deep sigh. People had been very cautious around him since the incident.
“First of all can’t you call him Oji-san and second of all what are you not allowed to say.” the little boy contemplated what to do, but ultimately gave in. Toshi was awful at lying to him.
“Well, I don’t have my quirk yet and I know you don’t have a quirk Papa so I asked Shou-chan if I wouldn’t get one.” Toshi bit his lip and looked down at the ground guiltily. Deku had been thinking the same thing recently, but he had no idea his friend had warned his son about it. Both Ochacko and Shouto knew about One for All and even before he lost his quirk, there was a chance that Toshi wouldn’t get a quirk based on genetics.
“What did he tell you?” Izuku smiled softly at him which prompted the boy to keep going.
“Well, he said there was a chance that I wouldn’t, but he had a feeling I would have a quirk. He also told me not to bring it up in front of you because you’d get sad. I asked Mama and she agreed.” there it was, his wife and best friend thought they were protecting him. He appreciated how much they cared, but hated that even Toshi was walking on eggshells around him.
“Well you’re only five and most quirks come in between 4-6 so let’s see what happens. Don’t worry about me. I'm not going to feel sad if you talk about quirks. Papa wants to know what’s on your mind okay? Besides, even without a quirk, there are plenty of jobs that can help make a difference.” He patted his son on the head once more to comfort him.
“But Papa? Why don’t you have a job then?” and there it was, the question that plagued him at night. It had been two years since the incident and he still wasn’t able to get past his dreams. He knew it was time to move on, but he just couldn’t. It felt like all his time spent at UA and with All Might had been for nothing. Recently he had been hiding pamphlets for different police academies from Ochako. He wanted to do it, but he was scared to enroll. It would be saying goodbye to a chapter in his life and talking to Ochako about it would make it suddenly feel too real.
“Well then I couldn’t see you all the time then silly,”  he started tickling Toshi in his attempt to avoid giving a real answer. He loves his kids and staying home with them, but he wanted more.
“Welcome Uravity,” greeted Ochako's supervisor as she sat down in the meeting room. Her agency was a big one and managed quite a few pro heroes, but this room only had about 7 of them. She scanned the room to see if she knew anyone and found Shinsou looking at her. He had some of the best saves of their agency, but he had to keep out of the public eye due to the nature of his quirk.
“Sorry I’m late, I didn’t realize we had a briefing today.” she apologized and took a seat. She felt her phone buzz a couple of times but did her best to ignore it.
“It’s fine, you are our star after all. Rumor has it you might make top ten at Japan’s next hero ranking. We need to make sure you get as many saves as possible before then. You’ll have to log more hours from now on.” the older lady smiled at her.
“But those rankings aren’t for another 3 months and I already have such a long work week.” protested Ochako. She had to work 12 hours a day already, she didn’t want to have to be away from her kids anymore. She felt her phone buzz a few more times and was almost certain it was Deku.
“It takes sacrifice to become a top hero Uravity and you’re so close. What are another three months?”
“I know and I’m thankful for everyone’s support, it’s just that I have kids and I can’t-”
“Don’t you have a jobless husband that takes care of them?” her supervisor said so bluntly that it made Ochako angry. She looked over at Shinsou who also seemed to wince at the comment. She hated the hate her husband got after the incident. Many of his “fans” called him weak or made fun of his quirkless status. Sometimes she hated how public heroes had to be.
“Please, my husband does a lot for our kids as it is, but I still want to be there for them. I am their mother after all,” Ochako explained as her phone continued to buzz. She wished Deku understood that she wasn’t picking up because she was busy. After continued buzzing, her supervisor’s attention was directed towards her pocket where her phone was.
“Need to take that? Sounds important.” the older woman was annoyed and she knew it, but she stepped out to take the call.
“God Izuku this better be important! I’m really busy right now,” she grunted in frustration at the loading video screen. Only when the video screen loaded it was Toshi on the other end.
“Sorry Mama, I didn’t mean to bother you.” Toshi looked terrified when he saw her.
“Oh no baby, I’m not mad at you. Where’s Papa?” she hated that she just yelled at her son for trying to talk to her. She hated this entire situation.
“He’s giving Hikari a bath. I’m sorry Mama, I just wanted to call you so I took Papa’s phone.”
She breathed a deep sigh. “That’s okay Toshi, I’m really busy right now, but we can play hero when I get home okay?” she smiled at her son through the phone. More than anything she wanted to hold him.
“Will you be home for dinner today Mama?” he looked hopeful and she wished she could say yes, but she knew better than to get his hopes up.
“Toshi what are you doing?” she heard Deku say off-screen which caused Toshi to end the call immediately. Part of her was relieved because she had to go to work, but a part of her was angry with him for taking her son away from her. It was moments like this that made her jealous. He got to be there for them every moment of the day. Hikari was such a Daddy’s girl and would get fussy anytime Deku wasn’t in the room. Even Toshi who seemed to worship Uravity still didn’t come to her when he was having nightmares or wanted to build legos. Lately, she didn’t feel like a mother and she hated it.
  Izuku knew Toshi missed his mother and he couldn’t blame him. Still, Ochako and he had an unwritten agreement that they had to wait for her call. Too many times did Deku call her during inopportune times. Now, unless it was an emergency he waited for her to call.
“Sorry Papa,” Toshi said, giving him his phone back. Deku thought about scolding him for taking his phone, but looking at his solemn expression he knew better.
“What’s wrong pal?”
“I miss Mama, she’s never home anymore.” his son began to tear up. He pulled Toshi in for a hug, but Deku knew nothing he could say would change that fact.
“I know Toshi, I miss her too.” Izuku knew that the kids needed some more time with Ochako, but her work schedule was so crazy. She was saving lives and he needed to support her. She had to get out there and defend Japan against some crazy villains and disasters. Not only that but as a popular hero, she had multiple press and publicity events she had to attend to as well. She crossed paths with many of their classmates from UA at them. Izuku couldn’t help but be jealous sometimes. He loved spending time with his kids, but he missed the social events and camaraderie of being a UA alum. He also wanted to get out there and do something important like Ochako, but lately, it felt like he had to hide from the public. He also wondered if Ochako was embarrassed to be with him sometimes. He knew this was not the marriage she signed up for. It was time he got out of his bubble and put himself out there again. The only question was 'how?'.

B for Chemistry, now live
Forgetting Dean was live early this week, Claire barges in to share the good news about her recent grade.
This is part of the Famous Husband verse, which is also a series.
On AO3.
Ships: Destiel
Warnings: none, but tell me if I missed something or you want me to tag something, cause I’ll happily do it without question!
~~~~~~~~~~
It had been going well for a while now, a few weeks actually. Claire was feeling a bit guilty about lying about her parents to her friends and she was toying with the idea of telling them. She had talked about it with Pops and Papa and they were chill with it, so now it was more waiting for a good moment to bring it up.
The moment came a few days later. Claire knew Pops had uploaded the burger video with Papa yesterday and she was talking with Rey and Mary about it during the break. Then it turned to theories. Rey said: “We’re not touching them with a ten feet pole on our insta anymore.”
“Yeah, we learned our lesson.” Mary agreed.
“Exactly, but it is quite curious what people have been saying.” Rey said.
“What have they been saying then?” Claire asked, never having pretended she was a hardcore fan, but a willing listener.
Rey answered: “Well, the videos have had some weird cuts since the documentary and Dean stopped himself from saying some stuff during the live streams. So, there are a few theories he’s hiding something.”
“Hiding what?” Claire asked, raised brow.
“That he has a kid.” Mary said.
Claire chocked on her lunch and there was a bit of chaos as she coughed, trying not to die. When everything had settled down, Mary asked: “Are you alright?”
Claire nodded after which Rey asked: “What was that all about?”
Deciding that something better than this wasn’t going to come, Claire answered: “They’re right.”
“What?” the two others said.
“The theorists.” Claire expanded, “They’re right about the kid.”
“And how would you know that?” Rey asked, not sure why Claire would be saying that.
“Cause I’m the kid.” Claire shrugged.
It was silent for a moment, as Mary and Rey processed the new information with open mouths. Then they both exclaimed different things. Mary yelled: “Are you serious?” and Rey: “What! Are you fucking joking? That’s not funny, Claire!”
“I’m not joking.” Claire said, raising her hands in innocence, “At first we weren’t sure if it was going to work and stuff and Pops, uhm, Dean didn’t want to give me the feeling he only took me in for the views, so we just shut up about it. I wanted to tell you, but I wasn’t sure how.”
“You aren’t joking?” Rey asked with wide eyes.
Claire smirked and shook her head: “I’m not, you can come over after school if you want to. I’ve been dying to show you my room, I got a big bed and everything. It’s amazing.”
“Oh my gosh, you are completely serious.” Rey said, sharing a look with Mary filled with disbelief and excitement.
Then Marys face fell and embarrassed she said: “Oh no, we’ve been talking with you about your dad the entire time, that must be so shit, I’m so sorry.”
Rey also blushed in embarrassment and Claire reassured the two: “I didn’t mind, it was pretty funny and at first also comforting that he didn’t seem a complete asshole from your perspectives, about Cas too.”
The two groaned again when Cas was mentioned, they had talked quite a lot about their favorite teacher/husband of their idol.
Claire laughed at them and said: “It’s okay, really.”
The bell rung and they all had different lessons. Claire stood up and told them to just come over that afternoon, before she walked off.
That afternoon the three got off at Claire stop and she walked over to her house. The Impala stood in the garage, so they couldn’t tell from that. Mary and Rey were still on the fence about the whole thing, but when Claire had opened the door they heard a very familiar voice yell: “Claire, that you?”
Claire yelled back: “Yeah, it’s me. I brought friends.”
There were footsteps on the stairs and in the hall arrived Dean, it was really him. Seeing that her two friends were speechless, she said: “This is Rey and that’s Mary. You know them right?”
Dean grinned at the two and stuck out his hand: “I heard a lot about you two, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Dean.”
Still speechless Mary shook his hand, but Rey had regained speech a bit and said: “Same, uhm, hi. I’m Rey.”
Claire laughed at her friend and Rey snapped right out of it and shoved her with a: “Shove off, Claire.”
Claire just stuck out her tongue at her friend, before pushing past Dean into the kitchen while asking what the other two wanted to drink. Dean stuck his head around the corner and said: “Do you need anything or can I go back upstairs. I was in the middle of editing when you came in.”
“Oh, no, you can go back to work.” Claire said after she’d thrown a look over her shoulder.
“Okay,” Dean said, then he asked: “Your day good?”
Claire nodded: “Yeah, just the usual. Mr. Delaneys class was pretty boring though, he spend fifteen minutes talking about his fishing trip.”
“Ugh, that is boring.” Dean agreed, then he bid his goodbye and left Claire with her friends, glad that she made them and was comfortable enough to bring them back home.
That was now a few weeks ago already and everything had still been going well Dean hadn’t slipped up during his live streams yet and all the videos were triple checked before they went up on the channel. And he had even managed to make two videos with Cas without giving it away.
And Cas hadn’t mentioned suddenly being a father in his classroom either.
So yeah, it had been going well.
But knowing the Novak-Winchesters that had to come to an end sooner rather than later.
It was ten weeks after Claire had moved in that it happened. Dean was doing his live stream on a Friday this week, since they’d planned to go on a family trip that weekend and he didn’t want to be working on it.
He had told Cas and Claire that, this morning and Cas was dutifully in the kitchen leaving his husband on his own. Although he had appeared on the channel multiple times now, he was still rather self conscious and he wanted to be able to review his words later and have a say in what went online about him, so he hadn’t joined in on a live stream yet.
Claire, however, had completely forgotten. She was home a little later that day, since she’d gone out with her friends for a milkshake and since this morning to celebrate. Claire had never been good at Chemistry, but she had studied very hard and gotten a B on her last test. So after the milkshake she had rushed home to tell her Pops and Papa.
She slammed open the door, startling Cas and Dean. She had heard Deans voice from the living room and assumed he was in there talking to Cas, so unthinkingly she barged in and yelled: “Pops! I got a B for Chemistry.”, while she ran and jumped on the couch to give him a hug.
Dean caught her, letting the laptop drop from his lap. Before the two had recovered Cas was already running through the hall, calling out: “Claire, wait! He’s doing a live stream!”
But he was too late.
When the words registered Claire jumped back with an apology and just looked at Dean with big eyes, which he returned. Cas had now appeared in the doorway and he asked: “Is it salvageable?”
Dean leaned over his fallen laptop and read out loud: “‘What happened?’ ‘Is that a girl? Is he cheating?’ ‘Did she call him Pops?’ ‘Was she talking about Chemistry?’ And it goes on and on.”, he looked over at Cas and shook his head, “You can fill in the rest.”
They both looked at Claire, who was biting her lip as she thought about what to do.
Dean was about to stop the stream when Claire surprised everyone, including herself, by saying: “Wait!”, she went on, “It’s okay, it’s my fault anyway. Besides I read everything about when Cas did this, I think I hate the thought of the theories more, you know?”
“Uh, okay,” Dean stammered, “Uhm, wanna come over here then?”
Claire got up as Dean picked up the laptop and told the viewers: “Like I said with Cas, this was a mess-up, not a promise and not a reason to pry, okay? Be nice everyone.”
Then Claire sat down next to him and waved, not really smiling, but doing that awkward lip thing. She said: “Uhm, hi everyone. I’m Claire, uh, Cas was my dads cousin and they found me and took me in.”
“And we couldn’t be more proud of her.” Dean smiled.
Claire shoved him lightly and said: “Don’t be sappy, old man.”
Dean rolled his eyes an replied: “I’m not old, I’m 28.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Claire said, but she smiled as well. Then she glanced at the screen and involuntarily commented: “Jikes.”
Instantly Dean got serious as he looked at the comments and asked: “What is it? What happened?”
“Nothing,” Claire assured him, “I just read: Dean is really Daddy now. And I suddenly felt the need to barf.”
Dean cringed and agreed: “Yeah that’s pretty bad.”
Cas also appeared in the background to read along on the screen, he pulled a few faces at the dirtier comments, but concluded that over all it could’ve been much worse. While he was reading them, Dean and Claire were still talking.
“So, a B for Chemistry.” Dean said, “That’s amazing! I know you worked hard on that. Well done.”
Claire smiled and thanked him.
Dean went on: “We are celebrating this tonight, yeah. What do you say, movies and ice cream?”
Claire smirked: “Heck yeah.”
The Dean turned to the chat, before turning back to Claire and asking: “Is it okay, if I say a few things about you?”
“Yeah, sure, go for it.” Claire shrugged.
“Wanna be here for it?” he asked.
Claire shrugged again, before answering: “Not particularly, no. Just tell them not to go digging or something that’s just creepy.”
“Of course.” Dean said, then he turned to the camera and said: “I’m serious everyone. One) she’s a minor, two) it’s basic fucking human decency, three) I will take legal action against you, no this is not a joke.”
After that Claire waved again, before leaving, but she did stay to watch, just from the other side of the lens.
Dean turned to Cas and asked: “Do you want to stay or not, angel?”
Cas looked at Claire, who nodded, then replied: “Yes, I will. Thank you, Dean.”
“Okay, lets start.” Dean said as he clapped his hands, “Firstly, sorry, but this has to be done, but I’m not risking it, so I’m just going to say this all again. I want you all out of her private life okay. Don’t go looking for her on social media, don’t Google her, just don’t, okay. Secondly, this isn’t going to be a regular thing. I’ve said it before, but I’m not here to make money of children, okay. You all weren’t even supposed to know and this is again nothing against you, but people deserve their privacy and with an online community like this I simply cannot guarantee that.”
He saw a few comments and said: “No, it’s not like Cas. He had thought about it after and just wanted the guessing and digging to end. The fact that he’s on my channel from time to time is not the same. Stop it or I will not proceed.”
Claire was feeling pretty guilty about the whole thing. If she’d just thought for a moment, before barging in this whole thing wouldn’t have happened and Pops could’ve just be having fun with his subscribers.
Castiel noticed her look and cocked his head in the questioning manner that had become so familiar to her. She waved it away and scribbled down on a post it note: Later. And showed it to him.
Dean was meanwhile continuing: “Now that I’ve said that, I can tell you all some more fun stuff. Me and Cas got ourself a real talented lady. She’s been living here for ten weeks now, which was why I took the break if you guys remember that. Anyway, she is really smart and funny, but don’t tell her I said that or she’ll get an ego.” Dean grinned at the last part, fully knowing that Claire was right there.
Cas piped in: “She really is. It’s amazing to see how well she fits into our little family here. It probably wasn’t easy for her to suddenly uproot her life and come here to live with us, but we’re grateful every day that she did.”
“Jup.’ Dean agreed, “It is great to see. Is there anything else except that, Cas? Don’t go looking for her and she’s epic and we love her and are proud of her.”
“I think that captures it quite well.” Cas smiled, then the smile dropped and he said: “Wait, for the kids at school. No drama about it, okay.”
“Good one, huggy-bear.” Dean said, “That was all then. Sorry that we have to cut this short, but I’m sure all of you will understand why. For those of you all that missed it, there won’t be a stream this Sunday, but the videos will continue on schedule.”
He ended the live stream and immediately rushed to Claires side and asked: “Are you okay? Do you need something? That was quite something, so suddenly.”
Claire shook her head and waved his concern away. She said: “It’s okay, really. I don’t mind.”
“Are you sure?” Dean pressed her again.
She blushed and said: “Yeah, I kind of like it. Just knowing that this is real and having other people confirm it or something, if that makes sense?”
Cas and Dean smiled back and hugged her. Dean gave her a kiss on the head and murmured: “Makes perfect sense, sweetheart.”
After they’d sat there for a while, Claire checked her phone. She had heard it buzzing, but hadn’t been in the mood to see. Ignoring most messages, she opened the groups chat with Rey and Mary, who had been yelling at her.
The two had lessened the Dean talk, to make Claire less uncomfortable and had decided that tey could watch the stream later when they went out with Claire for milkshakes. They’d assumed she knew, but when they’d gotten back to catch the last part they had been startled to see her and were texting her to check up on her.
Claire appreciated it and assured them that she was okay, for now. She was packing the last of her stuff and decided to turn her phone off that weekend. She let Rey and Marty know, before turning the device off and chucking it in her bag, just in case.
Meanwhile, downstairs Dean was pacing as he worried. Cas watched him for a while, but he couldn’t take it and stopped him. He said: “It’s going to be alright, Dean.”
Dean gave him a look and replied: “We don’t know that, Cas. Everything could go wrong and terrible and she could hate us.”
“She won’t.”
“She might.”
“Well, we’ll just have to see, because we can’t look into the future. Lets just focus on here, we’re going to do something fun, don’t let later ruin that for you.” Cas told him, ever so wise.
Later, he thought. Dean could do later.
Yes, later he would check up on what everyone was saying, even make good on some of the threats he had made, but for now he was too busy loving his little girl. He was busy celebrating her win over Chemistry and then he was busy making sure she had the best first family weekend she’d had in years.
Yeah, he had more important things to worry about than some people on the Internet, especially when he now had a picture of Cas and Claire leaning against each other in the back of his baby, both fast asleep.
Notes: Here are some headcanons for what’s mentioned above ^^^ (also, I’m sorry you’re sad - I hope this cheers you up!)
Duncan telling you:
I think although Duncan would keep his life private from the world, for the most part, it would be common knowledge around the office that he had a child. Nobody knew how old his kid was or even what their name was, they only knew that a child existed (or did they? It was becoming something of a myth around the office). Having worked at the foundation, which is how you met Duncan, you had heard the rumors about this child, but as you and Duncan had gotten to know each other better, you doubted if the rumors were even true, since he never brought it up. However, towards the end of your first date, after a bottle of wine and lots of laughter and opening up to each other, he approached you about the subject.
“Y/N, there’s something I want to tell you… But I’m not sure how,” he’d glance at you nervously, only feeling more confident when you reached over, grabbed his hand gently and gave him a soft smile, encouraging him to continue. “I have a son.” Your eyes would widen a bit, not out of fear or shock, but just a general feeling of warmth that he would share something like that with you. You thought his feelings for you, that he had confessed only earlier in the night, were heartwarming, but him revealing to you that he was a single father, really showed you just how serious those feelings were. It was a special moment for both of you.
First meeting with Y/N:
After a couple months or so of dating, Duncan would bring up the subject about you possibly meeting his son, “Y/N, you know how invested I am in this relationship and I think it’s ready for us to take the next step, so with that said… Do you think you’d want to meet my little one?” You’d be over the moon ecstatic for him finally asking. Truth be told, you had wanted to meet the cute lil baby you had seen in just about every picture of Duncan’s camera roll.
You had gone over with him one afternoon, an hour or so before his nanny were to arrive and send you both off to your dinner reservation. Duncan greeted you at the door with a warm smile. He had been ready to introduce you to this part of his life for a long time, but he didn’t want to scare you away. He kissed your cheek tenderly and walked you over to his son’s nursery, asking you about how your day was and telling you how happy he felt that you were finally going to meet his lil bub (the first time you had actually heard the cute nickname). He opened the door slowly and quietly, the room fairly dark as light shades of purple and blue danced across his room from the dinosaur lamp in the corner. The first thing you noticed was a little head peeking through the crib as the baby inside clumsily stood up on his feet, holding onto the bars of his crib for balance. Once he saw Duncan, a big smile appeared on his face and he started babbling, clearly happy to see his daddy. Duncan picked him up and held him close to his chest, smiling at you as he finally felt his two worlds coming together.
You spent the next hour, sitting on the soft carpet of his son’s room, playing with different toys and reading books to him. At first, he had been shy and clung to his papa, wrinkling the nice shirt he had put on for your dinner date, which caused a small smile to form on your lips. But after a while, he was obsessed with you. Duncan’s heart swelled in his chest, as he sat back and watched the sight of his son cradled in your arms, looking up at you with love and wonder as you read his favorite book to him, in a soft, soothing voice. It was something Duncan would never forget.
The first time he called Y/N mom:
After even a couple more months of dating, you and Duncan had gotten into a nice little routine. You weren’t living with him yet but you always stayed over and spent as much time with him and his little one as possible.
His son was now saying a few words - he knew the words dada, no, bye-bye, hi, and kitty (the name of his favorite stuffed animal that he’d yell while he was playing with it), but it came as a complete shock when one day you were all in the kitchen, Duncan making breakfast and you feeding bub his own as he babbled different words at you both, he had pointed to you and said “mama”. The soft song Duncan had been whistling stopped immediately as he turned to his son, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, spatula still in his hand as he processed what his son had just said. You, on the other hand, couldn’t contain the smile and noise of utter excitement and disbelief as the little one in front of you looked into your eyes and said it again.
You turned to Duncan, the huge smile you wore fading as you saw the look on his face. “I’m sorry, I-I didn’t know he would say that. I don’t want you to feel like I’m crossing boundaries-“ You were cut off suddenly by Duncan pulling you into his arms, holding your face softly and kissing you passionately. “I love you so much,” he’d whisper against your lips, resting his forehead against yours as a soft laugh escaped him. “And I can’t tell you how amazing it makes me feel about how excited you are to hear him call you that.”
First nightmare:
I think this would happen when bub was a little older, perhaps around 3 or 4? You had already moved in and life was sweet for the family at the Shepherd residence. Well, that was until you and Duncan woke up in the middle of the night, startled in bed, as you heard the loud cries of your little one in his room, just down the hall. Duncan rushed out of bed and down the hall, in only his sweats, and you closely followed behind. When you entered the room, Duncan was holding his son close to his bare chest, softly swaying him back and forth as he whispered in his ear that he would be okay.
“What happened?” You spoke softly as you approached them, placing your hand on your little one’s back, gently rubbing circles to soothe him.
“He said he had a bad dream about a monster chasing him,” Duncan’s voice was raspy and still heavy with sleep, although now showed a bit of alertness. Duncan rocked his son back and forth, while looking up, trying to blink away the tears forming in his own eyes as he started sniffling.
“Here, let me,” you offered, noticing how choked up Duncan was getting. You took the now much calmer toddler in your arms and gave him a small smile. “You know, mommy and daddy have bad dreams, too, but it’s okay, because we know they’re not real. Do you know the monster in your dream isn’t real? He can’t hurt you, baby.”
“He…He can’t?” His sniffly voice whispered as he looked up at you.
“Of course not. You are so much stronger than that monster, he could never hurt you,” he gave you a little smile as his tears stopped. “Plus, daddy and mommy would never let anything happen to you. Now, what do you say you sleep in our big bed tonight, hm?”
He nodded sleepily, hugging your chest, as you looked over at Duncan who was still sniffling. You leaned over to give him a quick kiss on the cheek before walking back to your room, your little one already falling asleep in your arms.
Duncan watched as you placed him in the middle of the bed, curling up next to him and placing soft kisses to his hair. He clung to your shirt and drifted off to sleep in the safety of your arms. You felt Duncan get into bed and wrap his arms around you both, exhaling a shaky breath.
“He’s never had a nightmare before.” He nuzzled you both closer to him, “I hate not being able to protect him from everything.”
“Duncan, you are the best father who does everything in your power to give your son the life he deserves, including protecting him to the best of your abilities. Cut yourself some slack, baby. He has a father who loves him more than anything, he’ll be okay,” you reached over, gently stroking his cheek as you heard a content sigh leave his lips.
“Thank you, baby.”
First fight with his daddy:
I think the first fight would also happen when bub was a toddler (terrible twos and all that fun stuff). I don’t think it necessarily would be a fight, more so as a meltdown of sorts, but it would still hurt Duncan’s heart to see his little bub so upset with him. He’d be sulking around while his son was in timeout and you’d just assure him that he was young and this was normal for him to act out occasionally.
“I know, but I can’t stand the idea of him being mad at me. That shit fucking hurts, Y/N,” he’d rub his eyes, sighing. “What happened to my little baby that I used to cradle in my arms? Now, he’s a toddler who’s throwing his book at me. Soon, he’s going to be a teenager and god… I can’t stand feeling this way.”
You’d walk over to him and wrap your arms around his waist, nuzzling into his warmth, “It’ll be okay, baby. Trust me. Your son loves you more than anything, that will never, ever change.”
my world | | mark fischbach x reader
request:  Do you do Mark x Male! Readers? If so, can I request one where Mark and male!reader go on a small trip together and Mark proposes? Sorry if this is too much! I love your writing a whole lot! 💖
of course mark x male readers are game!! this request warmed my heart so much that i had to go watch proposal videos. and then i cried. and now i’m writing this, and will probably cry again. also thank you so much!! :)
warnings: YO GUYS IT’S A GIRL!!! Y’ALL ARE FATHERS IN THIS ENJOY :) also bullying and sexuality discrimination from stupid haters :(, but it’s cute i promise :).
Tumblr media
when you and mark both came out to the public, your fanbase took it very well. there were rumors going around before you two came clean, anyway, and it led to a lot of speculation (and hashtags) to trend on twitter, which mostly encouraged your decision to make a video exposing your relationship.
as usual, however, when there were fans, there were haters. and this time in particular, though there weren’t many of them, the ones that hated on you hated on you. they made fun of every insecurity you had.
they called you all the names in the book, especially fag**t. that was their favourite, and it filled you with so much anger that people had the audacity to say that to another human being -- but mark was always there to calm you down, by your side, the epitome of taylor swift’s you need to calm down music video.
you also had by your side ally, who was the love of your life and the love of mark’s as well. you were grateful that no hate was directed towards her, half because you two kept her out of the public (to the best of your abilities), and half because she was only six-years-old and had already dealt a lot in her life.
her mother, your best friend -- lynne -- had fatally died in a car accident when her daughter was two. she left her only child, allison (who you nicknamed ally), under your care and she grew up with you as her father.
your hole in your heart was filled with ally, but more of all filled with mark and her combined, of whom you started dating just seven months after adopting the young girl.
you caught mark multiple times braiding her blonde hair, watching as she glistened proudly in the mirror: “daddy! daddy! look! papa is making me look pretty!”, a giant smile abroad her face.
there were other times he gave her makeovers. or times where you would walk in the kitchen, examining thoroughly the sight of cake batter all over the floor and walls, flour and sugar over your daughter’s face and a plastic crown on her head. your boyfriend smiled back at you, waving his hand and greeting, “sup, y/n.”
that’s what made you fall in love with everything -- with the whole situation. your daughter. your boyfriend. nothing could be better.
except of course, for a very needed vacation and a break from youtube.
which was mark’s idea originally. he wanted to take you and ally out to see the countryside, driving from california to kansas and staying on a farm for an entire weekend.
you loved that idea, personally.
you grew up on a farm when you were little, and you never really wanted to move to the city until you grew up, and adopted ally. after you started dating mark, it became clear that you weren’t going to be going anywhere soon.
but now, you were finally returning back to your home. to your favourite place.
ally was especially excited, repeating like a mantra that she was gonna see “horsays!” (on account of her speech impediment you just found too pure to fix for at least another year).
mark, chuckling from the front seat, wrapped an arm around you while you drove, leaning his head on your shoulder. “you excited?” he asked.
the man never failed to make you blush, as evidenced by the blood rushing to your face as you peered at him, glancing just from the side at the sudden conversation when you had admittedly been zoning out. “i’m so excited, baby,” you replied.
“good. because i am with the two people i love so much!” he exclaimed, booming, as he sat back up in his seat. “and we’re going to go see horsays. and doggies. and chickens. and. . . what’re they called again? the ones that go moo?”
“a cow!” exclaimed ally from the backseat.
“that’s right,” mark said, pretending to hit himself in the forehead. you chuckled, rolling your eyes playfully, encouraging him to kiss you on the cheek. “and ally, since you’ve been so good in the car. . .”
her eyes went wide from the back, her mouth agape as she narrowed her eyes. “daddy. . . do you mean. . .?”
you laughed, already knowing what was about to happen before he replied, as he fished narrowly in his bag, rummaging for a moment before stripping a thin bar covered in a sleek wrapper.
“chocolate!” she screeched. you jumped in reply, raising an eyebrow to your boyfriend.
“you’re terrible,” you mouthed, grinning. he merely waved you away, ignoring your critiques to his childish parenting. “mark fischbach, if you give her that--.”
“thanks, daddy!” she cheered, now opening the bar. you sighed.
“you know she’s spoiled, right?” you asked. he once again returned to wrapping an arm around you, kissing your cheek softly.
“oh, handsome,” he argued. “you know you are too.”
you didn’t respond to him, still in the midst of a blush covering your cheeks as you turned into the secluded farm.
the darkness was only semi-alluding the lights that were shining from the back of the farm, illuminating the beautiful landscape and the barn behind it. ally, a mouth full of chocolate, stared in awe as, when you approached, you noticed the sight of some tables around and food planted on top of them.
“they must have had a party,” you muttered, turning behind you. “alright, come on baby one and baby two. we need to go to sleep. we can clean all of this up in the morning.” you walked out of the car, approaching the trunk. “alright guys. i’m just gonna get the blankets.”
you heard mark mumble silently in agreement, and then his voice disappear as he fell farther from you -- away. you, however, spent your time fishing through the trunk, trying to find the blankets and the pillows you had brought (since ally was too terrified to sleep without ‘blankie’.)
“hey mark, do you know where blankie is?” you asked, pushing some of the other ones you brought to the side to try and find it. “mark?”
there was no answer, filling you with slight annoyance as you continued to look. ally would just throw a fit if you didn’t have her blanket, and God knows that you would not want to hear it.
“mark,” you repeated, harsher as you knelt on the side of the trunk opening, trying to get a good look of the entire inside. “mark!”
still, there was no response, causing you to whip around and narrow your eyes. however, you were numb and frozen when you witnessed the scenery behind you now transformed, all of your friends behind you and mark on one knee.
ally was by his side, her mouth opened wide in shock as she stared between the two of you.
immediately, you almost collapsed back into the trunk, your eyes watering with tears as you realized what was happening. jack, felix, and ethan were muttering to themselves with giant smiles on their faces, the rest of your friends doing similar.
“y/n,” he began, making your heart melt. “y/n l/n, i love you more than words can describe. you are everything to me. you are my universe.” there was a pause as he took a shaky breath, tears now filling his own eyes. “since the moment you came into my life, i’ve learned what happiness was. you made me remember the good in the bad and you helped me learn to love the little things. you are my everything, and i will never be able to give you what you have given to me. ever. but i can try.”
pulling something out of his pocket, you covered your face as tears rolled down the sides of your cheeks.
“y/n, the most handsome boyfriend i have ever managed to have, and the most amazing, caring, intelligent father that has ever graced this earth. . . please, make me the happiest man on earth, as cliche as that sounds, and please, please, take me to be your husband. will you marry me?”
those words came out like a dream, floating together in the air before you collapsed to your knees in front of him, pulling him into a deep kiss and letting your body melt with his. “yes, mark,” you whispered out loud, gasping for air from the amount of tears. “yes, yes! yes, i’ll marry you!”
cheers were let out, you holding each other, smelling each other’s scent, laughing and crying all in the same time, hearing jack’s loud voice exclaim that bob owed him fifty bucks that mark would pop the question first.
that was until you heard a tiny voice from besides you. “what does marry mean?”
when you looked up and were locked with the sight of your daughter, you looked up to your fiance, watching him force a smile on his ecstatic face, wiping his tears. standing for only a moment, you watched him get up only to kneel back down and take ally’s hands in his own.
“ally,” he whispered quietly, holding her face and instructing her to look at him in a gentle, calm voice. “ally, i need to tell you something, baby.” he paused. “i’m not your biological daddy, okay? and i wasn’t there for you when you were born. your other daddy was.”
you remembered the day you sat in the waiting room, waiting for your best friend because her shitty of a boyfriend decided not to come.
you recalled the moment she was born, and you also remembered the day that the will was read, and you were given custody of the young girl.
“but,” he interrupted. “i need to ask you if you’re okay with me being your real daddy. and letting me be there for you my entire life. being there for both of you. for daddy and you. i’m asking you if you’re gonna let me watch you grow into a beautiful, young lady, and protect you from everything.”
all of you were now bawling at this point, as you watched him speak to her in anticipation as to what she would say.
“please let me be your daddy, baby,” he said, the last part hushed. “is it okay if we’re all a big family?”
ally, unable to say anything, wiped her tears and nodded hysterically, making mark’s voice let out a, “yeah?” and then a following, “yeah. yeah!” before grabbing her and pulling her off the ground, twirling her in a hug.
you felt yourself collapse emotionally, and before you knew it, you were running towards them too, yanking them in a similar hug and listening to their heartbeats against your head.
“i love you,” you heard mark whisper in the middle of screams from your friends. “God, i love you so much.”
“i love you too,” you gently voiced back. and you did.
they were your family.
your love.
your world.
