for your rafe cameron series 🧡!
i hc that rafe hates that his shy gf is a people pleaser so whenever ppl ask reader for/to do things, he tells them no and teaches reader to be selfish sometimes
sweet girl . part one.
part two.
. . . finally done with uni and travel work so!!! i have not written in too long, so hopefully i have done it some justice!! part 1 because i truly think it deserves more :(
warnings. manipulative rafe? oblivious reader. bad friends lowkey.
Rafe Cameron adored you to the ends of the earth, every breath you took called his name. He cannot think of any quality you owned in which he disliked (maybe, slightly, being a pogue). But God he could not stand how nice you were. You knew it was a bad habit, a habit that made you likeable for all the wrong reasons.
Your heart was racing, and the base of your palms overloaded with sweat. No matter how many times you tried to relieve the stress, your mind would not stop reeling. It took days of convincing on your friends’ end, but it finally came to their luck when you’d hesitantly agreed.
Terrified. Terrified is the word you would use to describe how you felt. You were in shambles just thinking of the ocean, the deep seas scaring you in ways you would rather not imagine. But your friends needed you, after constructing a plan to get another batch of gold – all they needed was you.
“Are you ready?” JJ asked. Your shaking hands were gripping the edge of the boat before you nodded.
You tried, you really did, only you felt the panic settle in when your legs were the only identifiable object below you that did not jitter you. Your eyes stung painfully, and you were sure they would swell soon enough. After every exhale you did, water filled your lungs and the fish that trickled by your trembling feet, did not help but cause a worrisome tremble of your body.
It was a long while with overwhelming darkness consuming you, and time didn’t register then, not until Rafe’s angry voice was loading through your ears.
He was beyond furious. He wasn’t supposed to leave you alone today, but how could he say no to you when you were practically begging? (it did not take much — in fact.)
Rafe stood near his bed, watching your breathing steady and lashes gently flutter open. He paced near you with haste speed, before sitting down near your arms. “Do you know how stupid you are?”
“wh-what?”
“You wanted to keep this relationship a secret,” his breath shook with every word he spat out, yet the touch on his hands were laced with gentleness. “So you better stay outta trouble. I can’t come n get you around your shitty fucking friends.”
You sat up slowly, taking notice of the way your clothes lay folded on his desk chair, his own clothes hanging loosely around your body. You knew Rafe cared about you, he is your boyfriend, but it never crossed your mind that he’d find anger in your misery.
You gulped, shrugging your shoulders yet your hands still circled by his, “I-I don’t get it, they’re my friends and they asked, it was a risk anyone would tak-”
“No the fuck it’s not, my God Y/N,” he dragged his hands over his face, before leaning close to you. “No friends would ask you to jump into the fuckin’ ocean knowin’ you’re scared shitless.”
His jaw clenched and you squint your eyes at the furrow of his brows, “Rafe…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you.” The frown residing on your face was evident, reaching out with one hand to clasp his rough hands with your own, and another tenderly caressing the creasing of his skin.
You didn’t understand his anger, but it was justified in your head, nonetheless. How could he ever be wrong in your eyes?
Not a second had passed and he was already mimicking the sadness plastered onto you, before using his other hand to caress your cheeks — a touch so soft sighs escaped the pair’s lips.
“Baby,” he cleared his throat, “Im- m’not mad at you. No one loves you like I do. I wouldn’t risk your life; your friends are selfish.”
He cradled your head onto his chest, wiping and pressing on your pouting mouth. “‘s not the first time either, you care too much ‘ts going to hurt you.” you shrug into his chest, heart aching at the sound of his own beating erratically breath your ears.
Rafe sighed, gulping and leaning onto the headboard, “gonna have to have me stuck by you all the time, i’ll be your backbone while you get to be all sweet ‘n shit.”
“you think i’m sweet?” a saccharine giggle escapes you at the roll of his eyes, and Rafe tightens his hold on you, knuckles white as you draw mindless patterns on his chest.

warm enough .
synopsis; recovering from an expected breakup, you find yourself drunk at a nearby bar, encountering an unfamiliar girl who happens to know your ex.
trope; non idol!ningning x fem!reader, uni au, fluff, a little angst, a little suggestive, strangers to lovers, feat. kep1er members :3
wc; 4.8k
cw; a little suggestive but not really
a/n; fun fact this happened to me irl ! figured i could use my experiences for stories ! everything from the breakup to the bar kiss is based on my personal experience so lol have fun. also its kinda poorly written because i wrote some of it while on the plane + in china while being very tired and i dont feel like proofreading so im sorry ^^'
The breakup was supposed to be a mutual thing. A smooth and easy agreement between you and Jimin. You guys met in a cafe when your soon-to-be-ex girlfriend finally dropped the bomb on you.
“I still care a lot about you, y/n. But I want to focus on myself and my future… I think you should too.”
You wanted to speak up, say that you didn’t want to let go yet. Just… hold on for a little longer. Maybe it’d get better if you guys just kept it going for another week. Another month. Another day?
“What I’m trying to say is…”
You always hated this part.
“I think we should break up.”
Despite the older girl being the one to initiate the ending of the relationship, you always knew it was coming. Jimin was sweet, and you definitely did enjoy the little dates you guys had been on through the past year, but there was something missing. Every time she looked at you, it seemed like she was looking through your eyes into her own. Her mind was always elsewhere whenever you two were together, like she was searching for something you couldn’t provide. She never seemed to smile around you, never laughed loudly or hugged you with warmth.
You really tried to be the person for her, you really did; but it was apparent that she was trying to convince herself you were the one as well.
It was shown in the way she bought you endless gifts with things you said you wanted, but never kissed you, In the way she would allow you to hold her hand, but never reached out herself, how she couldn’t bring herself to say “I love you” out loud. Jimin was cold.
You agreed that this was the best path to take, how you felt the exact same way and that it would be good for the both of you, but the tears that nonconsensually left your eyes said otherwise. You still remember the last words you told her before you got up to leave.
“I really hoped it was you.”
There's a saying or the other. “Your body will know if someone is right for you.” You came across it while aimlessly scrolling on social media once, and you thought it was an interesting but ridiculous concept. Countless people would share stories about how their hair would fall out or how they would break out into horrible acne when they were with their past partners, only being relieved from this when single or with their “match.”
It was funny, and you didn’t believe one bit of it until it actually happened. The tightness in your chest that followed you every time you two went out together, the stress of wondering if she actually enjoyed her company, the way you couldn’t truly relax in her presence– it all went away. It all left when she walked out of your life, and you’ve never felt more at peace with a decision. At least, for a little bit.
The breakup was the easy part. It was the recovery that ruined you.
You were the one to establish a rule of no contact, even after you both expressed wanting to stay in touch. It was your only way to hold on to the last sliver of pride you had left after spending a year chasing after Yu Jimin. The rule was established to allow you some time to heal, and you hoped to return to the girl as friends once you felt ready.
With this in mind, you then proceeded to spend a month barely eating, barely sleeping, and not leaving your apartment unless you needed to for classes. It was difficult to be on your own after dedicating so much time to her, falling behind, hoping that she would see you the way you saw her; but after about a month, you slowly felt yourself regaining your footing.
You started going out again, talking with your roommate, taking time to actually care for yourself. It was nice. Perhaps your progress would have left you comfortable enough to move on if you didn’t decide to go out that day.
There she was. Yu Jimin. After an exact 31 days of no contact with her, you finally cross paths. Quite literally, at that– but she wasn’t alone. There was a girl on her arm. She was pretty. Blonde with bobbed hair and a soft smile that made it impossible to hate her. Jimin was smiling too. This is the first time you’ve seen her smile like that, smiling as if she found what she was looking for after all of this time. She doesn't look past her. She sees her.
Jimin holds the other girl by the small of her waist the way she used to do with you, and she kisses her. She kissed her. Just like how she used to kiss you, but not exactly. There's love in her eyes. A warmth you’ve never seen before. In her eyes, there is certainty.
And that was the day your world came crashing down on top of you.
You tried to act normal as you walked past. You really did. Your eyes remain glued to your phone as your knuckles turn white. Her eyes didn’t even meet yours as you walked by. Why wouldn't she look at you? Maybe she's wondering why you won't look at her. That must be it. You hold your breath. As soon as she passed by, you couldn’t help yourself. You made the mistake of looking back.
…Nothing.
As soon as Jimin was out of sight, you cried. You ran home, scaring half the life out of your poor roommate, Xiaoting, as you collapsed in your bed. Everything hurts. Why did it hurt? You wanted this. You felt better without her— the tightness in your chest was gone.
Instead, it was replaced by an indescribably painful ache. One that felt so deep within your soul it would never heal. Quietly entering your room, Xiaoting says nothing as she sits next to your limp body on the bed, rubbing your back comfortingly. The gesture only makes you sob even harder.
She's been with you through it all. From the beginning of your relationship with Jimin till the end, she was there. Xiaoting really was a good friend.
From then on, Xiaoting’s one goal was simple: cheer you up. She would cook at least once for you every day despite not being the best chef, and she would allow you to rant about the same things over and over no matter how overbearing it got. Honestly, you started to feel a little bad. She shouldn’t have to bend over backwards for you just because you’re a little sad.
So when Xiaoting announces that you will be joining her at the bar with her friends tonight, you couldn't say no. Both because she stated it, not asked you, and that it simply was the least you could do for her. Especially after everything she’s done for you. Before you knew it, you were dressed up in your best (slutty) corset top and cargo pants with some hoops and over exaggerated makeup to accent the look. Xiaoting, as your best roommate and friend, matches with you, and you two make a big scene out of getting ready together; blasting music, doing each other's hair, borrowing each other's clothes, and more.
Xiaoting’s girlfriend Yujin had made herself at home for the pregame, and your mutual friend Hikaru soon followed. With Xiaoting as designated bartender, the four of you mingle, laughing and cracking jokes as the warmth of the alcohol and one another’s presence left you with a warming buzz. Xiaoting was an excellent mixer, and in combination with the chasers Hikaru bought and the drinking games Yujin proposed, you were all ready to go.
Xiaoting and Yujin led the way, hand in hand as you and Hikaru trailed behind, drunkenly singing into the cold night air as you trek to the nearest bar.
Being a Friday night, the establishment had been as packed as expected, and you all squeezed your way past other visitors as you’re guided to a nearby table. Xiaoting starts off strong, ordering shots for the entire group before utilizing her combined charm alongside her girlfriend’s looks to convince guys to purchase drinks for everyone as well. You couldn’t help but laugh at the way the duo would bat their eyelashes innocently at lone men for drinks– but at least it worked.
Lazily, your eyes wander through the crowd, the alcohol in your system making it a struggle to see straight. Despite your inability to see properly, you still manage to catch a glimpse of your friends from the corner of your eye, and easily spot Yujin attempting to very publicly make out with Xiaoting as Hikaru struggles to pull her away. You stifle a laugh at the sight, and decide to leave the three to their antics whilst you look for someone to talk to.
It's been a while since you last struck up a conversation with a stranger. The last time you had put yourself out there was before you met…
You shake your head. No. You are not letting your stupid ex ruin your night. Knitting your brows in concentration, you scan the bar. There were plenty of pretty girls to talk to, but you were feeling a little intimidated. Almost all of them came with at least one other person, and you didn’t want to intrude on anything…
Your eyes landed on a lone blonde at the end of the table, scrolling through her phone with alcohol flushed cheeks. She seemed approachable. Worst case scenario, she simply shoos you off. Taking a deep breath, you approach the blonde, deciding to pull out your best conversation starter.
“Are you chinese? You look chinese!!” You exclaim, suddenly switching to mandarin in the middle of your sentence as you ask the question. Smooth.
The blonde girl looks as if she would’ve been extremely offended at the comment if you didn't just speak to her in her native tongue halfway through your sentence, and she quirks a brow at you, an amused smirk on her lips as she leans against the bar.
“Yeah, I am! What's a cutie like you doing in a place like this alone??”
You feel your heart begin to race. So far so good. “I'm not alone!!! My friends are just busy making out with each other and the other is trying to stop them!!” You also lean on the bar, though not as alluring as the blonde before you. More like you partially collapsed and partially slid on it.
She chortles at your response, “well that's not fair to you, leaving you here all alone.”
The sweet and somewhat sultry tone of the blonde makes (non alcohol induced) blush appear on your face as you laugh, “it really isn't! But whatever! My name is y/n by the way!! What's yours??” You scream over the music, sticking your hand out. It was an unexpectedly polite gesture considering your circumstances, and perhaps it may have seemed a bit comical as well with how drunk you were.
She giggles at the response, grabbing your hand then pulling you in, her lips dangerously close to your ear as she yells over the music, “Ning Yizhuo. But call me Ningning! It's cuter!”
You grin. Ningning was a cute nickname. You decided at this very moment you could trust this cute stranger with your life story and personal information she didn’t ask for, and begin to slur out.
“My friends dragged me out here because I was sad over my ex who moved on from me a month after the breakup even though we dated for a year and she's a big jerk for that even though I wish only the best for her but also I hope she dies!!!”
None of the words you spoke just now came out clear, and they seemed to trip over one another when leaving your mouth, but it was enough for the other girl to go from extremely relaxed to suddenly very heated. She stands up straight as her eyebrows knit together.
“To be honest I don’t think she ever really liked me in the first place! I don’t know!! Whatever it doesn’t matter!!!” You continue on, sounding absolutely pathetic as you let yourself feel through the anger you didn’t even know you were repressing, “I was stupid to stay with someone who couldn’t even look me in the eye when saying she loved me!! She was stupid to do the same!! Whatever!! I don’t know!!”
Ningning cuts you off with a raised hand before you can continue, “what the hell?! I hate people like that!! You're wayyyy too hot to be treated that way! Who is she? What's her name?? I might know her!!”
Against your better drunken judgment, you decide to name drop your ex within a university bar. Because that is always a good idea. “Yu Jimin!! She's a engineering major !!!”
Ningning’s jaw drops as she stares at you, almost as if she were trying to find the correct words for what she has to say next.
“Girl, I know her !!!” She screams out after a brief moment of silence, “we shared a class together once!! Oh my god I'm so sorry I didn't know she was like that!! You deserve BETTER!”
Before you could even think of what to say in reaction to that heavy load of information, Ningning grabs your face, pulling you into a kiss. It was a very messy one, her lips almost missing your own during the exchange. Seems like she's not entirely sober either.
Still, even in your drunken state you knew what to do. Your hands immediately find Ningnings hair as you pull her in closer, and you can feel her smiling as she grazes her tongue over the bottom of your lip.
You open your mouth to let her in and the only thing that you can think of or even feel for that matter is Ningning and her tongue. She… was really good at this. Jimin never kissed you like this before. Her hands trail down your back to your ass before she squeezes it, smirking when you squirm against her touch.
She breaks the kiss, her face inches away from yours as she breathes out, “you deserve so much better…” Ningning gives you a quick peck on the lips before stepping back, taking in her work with a devilish glint in her eyes. You stare at her dumbfounded for a moment before whipping out your phone, fully talking in your appearance. Your hair and makeup were a wreck. How did all of that happen just now?
“Done by yours truly~” Ningning winks at you, quickly slipping your phone out of your hand and typing something in.
“Wh— Wait what are you doing?”
“Giving you my number, obviously. My girls are gonna wonder where I went.” She hands back your phone and looks at you with soft eyes through her drunken daze.
“Take care of yourself, yeah?” Ningning kisses you one last time, giving your hand a squeeze before letting go. She disappears into the crowd of partygoers, a sly fox-like grin on her face.
“There you are!”
You feel an arm land on your shoulder as you jump, twirling around and looking down to see a drunk Hikaru with a slightly less drunk Xiaoting and an absolutely hammered Yujin on her side.
“We should probably head back home!” Xiaoting screams into your ear, “Hikaru’s gonna knock out on the couch and Yujin will be with me!”
Her words barely make it through to you, the music and the alcohol and the adrenaline within your system muffling out every word spoken. Regardless, you still nod and trail behind your friends as you leave, not all too sure what just happened.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
You lay in bed, eyes practically burning holes into the new contact in your phone. “宁宁<3” is what it said.
So last night wasn’t just a dream. You really did just get a girl's number by doing nothing but spilling your secrets to a stranger. On top of all of that, your head was absolutely killing you, you swore you could feel your heartbeat within your brain. Still, that wasn’t important. Biting your lip, your fingers hover over the contact name. Should you message her?
y/n [10:59] — hey !! its y/n, the girl from the bar
y/n [10:59] — thanks for keeping me company last night :)
ningning [11:06] — i was wondering if u were gonna text me back
ningning [11:06] — and of course <3 jimin doesn’t know what she lost
y/n [11:08] — haha im flattered
y/n [11:08] — but u barely know me??
ningning [11:11] — that can change xx
Your eyes widen as you reread the text over and over again. Is she implying what you think she's implying? What if she's just being friendly? Can you even platonically make out with someone at the bar?
y/n [11:16] — are u asking me out on a date ning yizhuo ?
You wait.
Oh god. What if she was just being friendly?
ningning [11:18] — only if youll have me
You feel yourself blush at her message, burying your face into your pillow as you squeal like a high school teenager in love. It was embarrassing in hindsight, but.. it felt nice to be wanted.
y/n [11:19] — of course
ningning [11:19] — perfect <3
ningning [11:20] — dinner at my place tonight then?
ningning [11:20] — If youre not too hungover..
ningning [11:20] — i got the best hangover cures ;)
you can't help but arch your eyebrow at the winky face she added at the end but brushed it off, more focused on the fact that your drunk hatred towards your ex landed you a date.
You scramble to your feet and (metaphorically) kick down Xiaoting’s door, abruptly waking the girl from her nap as she screams out, “WO CAO!” She places a hand over her heart as she bolts up within her bed, immediately letting out a sigh of relief when she realizes it was just you.
“Girl what the HELL is wrong with you?!” She hisses, laying back down and throwing the blanket over her head.
You, being the ever loving and best roommate ever, respond to this by jumping into bed with (on top of) the redhead and squeezing her as tight as you can while screaming “I HAVE A DATE!!!”
Xiaoting shoots back up, your arms still latched onto her torso as she looks down at you, eyes wide. “Wait, are you serious?”
You hear a low groan and a hand slapping your arm as you roll your eyes, slapping the arm back as the voice of Yujin grumbles out and shuffles deeper within the sheets.
Both you and Xiaoting look at one another and giggle before she quietly slips out of bed, quickly placing a kiss on Yujins head before grabbing your arm and leading you out of her room. Once outside, she firmly grasps your shoulders.
“Okay, now tell me everything.”
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
You nervously stand outside of Ningnings apartment, bag clutched in hand as you look back behind you. Xiaoting sat within her car on the side of the road, keeping an eye on you to make sure this girl wasn’t going to kidnap you or the other.
The two of you (and soon enough Yujin and Hikaru) had spent the day giving you pointers on how to go about the date. They had thrown an ungodly amount of clothes your way as well as telling you endless conversation starters and compliments to give another person. By the end of it all your head was overflowing with information that you were going to forget as soon as you head out the door, and all of your closet was sprawled on your bedroom floor and in the living room. Still, the girls seemed quite proud of their work.
All of you had consecutively agreed on an outfit that was nice, but not too nice. You wore a plaid skirt paired with a simple tank top and an off the shoulder cardigan.
Holding your breath, you ring the doorbell. You really hoped this wasn’t a mistake. When was the last time you were actually on a date with someone? You couldn't remember. After a few moments of silence, you hear shuffling followed by the door unlocking and Ningning poking her head out shyly. Her eyes light up at the sight of you before opening the door completely, revealing her outfit.
She wore an oversized plaid button up, unintentionally matching with your skirt alongside baggy jeans and some bunny slippers you thought were incredibly cute. Her hair was tied up in a messy but charming bun, held up by a hair stick with small gemstones dangling from the end.
This Ningning was completely different from the one you had met at the bar last night. Though, you suppose you were a different person now as well.
“You're here! Come in come in!” She grabs your hand and guides you inside. Flustered, you spare a quick glance behind you, and you can spot the silhouette of Xiaoting throwing a thumbs up from her car before Ningning closes the door behind you.
“You look gorgeous today, by the way,” Ningning compliments, her thumb rubbing over your fingers as she walks you through her apartment. The gesture makes your cheeks warm, and you find yourself easing into her touch like putty. It was a touch that was loving. Kind. Intentional.
Her home was cozy, with white walls paired alongside warm lighting and paintings and other wall art lining the interior. There was an appetizing aroma that wafted through the air, and you had remembered that Ningning had offered to cook for you.
“What have you prepared for us tonight, chef Ningning?” You ask, squeezing her hand as she grins, “Well it's not much, I'm not a really good cook but I decided to make us some dumplings! A little basic, but it's the only dish I feel like I’ve actually perfected.”
“I hope this is the hangover cure you mentioned” you comment lightheartedly, and you sense a playful energy in the way she looks back at you.
“You'll find out soon enough.”
You once again find yourself quirking a brow at her vague answers, but she simply smiles at you innocently and you find yourself smiling back. It was hard to not be amused by her.
Ningning guides you to the kitchen, which was cleaned perfectly for your arrival. On the center of the table were multiple bamboo steamer baskets, as well as a large tea pot and a simple glass bottle with various native wildflowers as a centerpiece.
The other girl pulls out a chair for you, and you teasing grin at the polite gesture, “how romantic, Ninging~”
She rolls her eyes and giggles before settling down herself, instantaneously pouring you a cup of tea as she gestures at the baskets, “go on, dig in. I’ll be personally offended if you don’t.”
Chuckling, you open up the baskets, releasing clouds of steam before revealing multiple handmade dumplings with various fillings and differing folding styles. Your eyes widen, and you simply comment, “wow,” before taking the first bite of the food.
To say that it tasted amazing was an understatement– you practically felt like you were thrown back to the motherland with a single bite, and it wasn’t long before you were filling your plate with more.
The two of you had spent the rest of the evening getting to know one another more. You had learned she was a computer science major and going onto her third year of uni, as well as the fact she was from Harbing whilst you shared that you were from Shanghai.
“Big city girl, huh?” Ningning amusedly comments, sipping on her tea as you roll your eyes, “yeah… But I'm not rich or anything before you ask.”
The blonde feigns rejection as she snaps her fingers, “damn. I was gonna ask you to buy drinks next time we head to the bars, I think you owe me. ” She smiles at you, and it's warm.
You liked this. You liked how easy it was to talk to her. It was never this easy before.
Soon enough you had ended up on Ningning’s couch, browsing through movies aimlessly as the hefty meal threatened to send you into a food coma. The blonde lay comfortably in your arms underneath a blanket, her eyes occasionally fluttering shut as you continued to search for something to watch.
“Hmm, what about… Velocipastor?” The name completely throws you off guard, prompting you to click on it, skimming over the description as you feel the vibration of Ninging lazily humming beneath you.
“Oh that movie is really good, trust me.”
“... Really? Are you sure, Ning?”
“Yeah yeah…” Her eyes were already shut as she spoke, nuzzling in closer to you as you chuckle, putting on the movie as you wrap your arms around her, pulling her in closer.
Honestly, the movie seemed to be an excuse for the girl to be physically close to you– maybe get a nap in? You weren’t even sure if she was watching the movie at this point. Still, maybe it was for the best. Velocipastor was definitely not well funded within its production, that much could be seen. Plus, you couldn't complain about having a cute girl in your arms.
“Does your head still hurt?”
Ningning’s soft voice rings out, startling you. Honestly, you were getting pretty invested in the film, you had thought she already fell asleep.
“Mmm, a little. I don’t think your hangover cure worked.”
“Oh, the dumplings weren’t the cure.”
Your head cocks to the side as you tear your gaze away from the tv screen, looking down at the girl nestled on your chest as she looks back up at you. There was that all too familiar glint in her eyes again.
“Then what is?”
A mischievous grin curls on her lips before she leans in, connecting her lips with yours. Still a bit sluggish from the night before alongside a hefty meal, her kissing was a bit sloppy, but it was soft. Much softer than before.
You feel yourself almost immediately sigh into the kiss, and you would have found it embarrassing if she didnt guide her hand up your chest, to your neck, and into your hair, soon deepening the kiss.
Not expecting things to escalate so soon, you couldn’t help but let out a soft whimper as your hands landed on her hips, nails digging into her sides desperately as she laughs against your lips, pulling back.
“You’re really cute, y’know?” She purrs, using her hand to brush a strand of hair out of your face, and you can see the hint of pink spread across her lips as she smiles, drinking in the sight of you.
Before you even have a chance to respond, Ningning tackles your jawline, trailing kisses down your face and onto your neck. You try to respond, but when she starts to nip the side of your neck, the words you wanted to say somehow managed to melt into complete mush.
“Mmhmmhgh…”
The sound that escapes your lips allows you the chance to actually feel embarrassed, and you slam a hand over your lips, looking away from Ninging. Your response elicits another laugh from the blonde, and you swear you could listen to the sound forever.
Her symphony soon quiets though, and Ningning looks you straight in the eye, her gaze softening as she opens her mouth, struggling to find the right words to say.
“Look, I know we just met…” she trails off for a moment, almost a bit shy to continue, “but if you want to give me a chance and see where this goes, I promise I’ll treat you so well.”
Her eyes are filled with genuine desire for you, and you couldn’t help but feel… Isolated? Targetted? For the first time you feel like you’re seen, and you don’t know what to do about it.
She presses on, “I’d really like to see you again, and I know you’re going through a lot right now but I want to be there with you every step of the way. I want to see where this takes us.”
“I want you, y/n.”
Your face heats up instantaneously, and you swear your eyes were threatening to bulge out of your skull right then and there. You look at her in silence as you struggle to find your words, and after a few seconds you finally croak out,
“I… I want to see where this takes us too, Ningning.”
Her eyes brighten at your response, and she beams, pulling you into a tight hug on the couch before interlocking her lips with yours once again. You giggle into the kiss, and throw the blanket over the two of you as the movie on the tv buzzed on. For the first time, you found someone warm enough for you.

Hey, can I pleade request Mick dating a journalism major!reader in uni, (and she has to write a paper about something like 'a thing you find beautiful in everday life' or something like that and she writes about Mick, he reads it and realises she has feelings for him)? Please
P.S.: feel free ignore the part in the brackets

Mick had a rushed routine as a driver and a famous one. You also had a rushed routine, though you were neither famous nor a driver. Quite the opposite and your friendship surprised a few people because you were a journalism major who just like in the cliches spilled your coffee on him on your first day at the paddock.
One of your college friends who happened to have a rich mom invited you to a weekend in the paddock, and though every catastrophic scenario went through your head you said yes. As it turned out, you did make a fool of yourself, but it earned you a new friend, and just like everyone once told you, nobody is paying that much attention to the point of remembering the comic situation you got pulled into.
You and Mick clicked and had been friends for around two years now. You made it work even with the hectic schedule and the traveling. He would take you with him whenever it was near enough for a quick plane ride and you didn't have classes. That's how it became a thing for him to know about your assignments and help you with them. He would tell you that it was relaxing to read your writing, and then proceed to do it every small free second he got (there were shots of him in the garage with a sandwich in one hand and your laptop in the other).
Coming to think about it, you suppose that maybe that's how you fell for him. Mick was always there for you even when he was on the other side of the world. He would call, and text, and get you small souvenirs. He would help proofread your assignments, and ask about your day. And don't get things wrong, you have tons of friends, but none of them felt like what you had with Mick. None of them slept with their phone by their pillow waiting for you to sleep and waking you up if they heard you having a nightmare. You kept telling yourself that he was just extra friendly. That he was the golden retriever guy everyone talked about, but that didn't mean he loved you. That, though, wasn't enough to convince your heart and you saw yourself slowly and surely fall for him.
That's how you ended up writing about him in your last assignment. One he wasn't supposed to read, but you forgot you shared the online folder with him and that he opened it every weekend to check for new stuff.
There are many beautiful things in everyday life, but some don't seem captivating to us every day. I love the sky, love the way the blue can turn into orange, and somehow get mixed into a light purple. How at night you get to see different glimmers of stars, and travel imagining cloud forms just like when it's daylight. But I don't see the sky as lovely when it's winter and there's no sun or white clouds, just a dark shade of grey. [...] I also find the rush of people in the city captivating, each going on about their lives, taking the subway, strolling with friends, walking the dogs, and buying groceries. Still, there are days when I hate the rush, and I hate how the dogs will stand in the way on the sidewalk, how the subway is full, and how loud a group of strangers can be. [...] But then there are the people. A person. He drives just as effortlessly as he walks. And the days when he walks with me, the dark sky is beautiful, the dogs barking in the way are music to my ears, and the packed subway is full of bursting dreams and hopeful people. I'm one of them. I'm hopeful he'll notice me one day. I'm hopeful he'll love me the way I love him. I'm hopeful he'll see me just as beautiful as I see him. To me, he's the everyday beauty, not because of his sparkly blue eyes, or soft blond hair, but because of who he is. I never get tired of him. I never will because he's this kind of beauty to me.
"Wow," he breathed after finishing your paper just as you were walking into his driver's room.
His big ocean orbs found your frame by the door, and by the way he was looking at you, surprise etched on his face, you knew he read the piece and connected the dots.
"Mick...I-...I'm so sorry- I-" Truth be told, you were on the verge of tears, what was supposed to be a beautiful day started to feel like a nightmare. You thought so many things, thought he would hate you, thought he wouldn't wanna be friends anymore, that he would laugh at you, but he smiled.
He gave you that overwhelmingly gorgeous smile.
Your heart skipped a beat, and suddenly, he was in front of you, still smiling, he reached for your cheekbones and connected your foreheads, taking a deep breath - something you weren't able to do because of your nerves.
"Schatzi, you're the most beautiful thing in the world," he whispered, and that small sentence was everything you needed to hear.

Heartstopper's Aspec Representation Isn't For Me - And That's Okay (Mini Essay)
Spoilers for Series 3!
So I just finished series 3 and I feel conflicted. I don't hate Heartstopper at all. I think it's a very cute show. I'm happy queer baby gen z and gen alpha have something to see themselves in, I love how Tara, a darkskin Black lesbian girl is happy in her relationship. I'm happy Isaac makes my fellow aspecs happy. I'm happy Charlie tore Ben's singlet in series 2 and for once the victim/survivor is allowed to not forgive their assaulter. I like Heartstopper's little moments but I've felt like something was missing overall and now we're on the third season, I think I know what it is now. There's comments on BL and yaoi by Alice Oseman I don't fully agree with, some of the acting in the show could be a bit better I guess, most of the characters are comfortably in the British middle class and I am a grown adult now so my interest in school/teen dramas has dipped a little bit (but not you Waterloo Road ily <3). So to an extent, there were always gonna be limits on how much I enjoy this show, but nevertheless, I still think they're worth pointing out, especially if we're claiming Heartstopper for the next gen of queer rep. Because honestly having watched shows like Heartbreak High and Koisenu Futari plus being a massive Selah and the Spades fan, I feel a bit robbed in terms of quality.
Isaac still feels underdeveloped and for a show that's been going on for 3 series now this feels disappointing. Like obviously Nick and Charlie get all the screentime as they're the main characters. Tao and Elle got a lot more juicer storylines from s2, Tara and Darcy got more to work with this series even if it was rushed (oh I miss you long series 2010s shows), but Isaac still feels leaps behind everyone else. He didn't really get anything in series 1. In series 2 we saw him coming to terms with his identity which felt like a good starting point but I was still waiting for the 'big asexual plans' Alice Oseman promised and... nothing. I liked his comment about googling aromanticism to Charlie because the representation by PowerPoint style of aspec writing can get tired. I also liked his moment of feeling left out by his friends plus still wanting to know Nick and Charlie's tea, giving him sexual agency whilst aroace instead of feeding into infantilisation. But apart from that... nothing. I wanted to feel more moved by the aquarium scene, but it felt tacked on because whilst Isaac's upset was justified, Imogen just wanted to chat about gay fish, so Isaac came across as a little passive-aggressive instead of what was supposed to be his moment. Plus it feels a little backhanded how much effort series 1 went to in how big coming to terms with your identity is, plus the gorgeous way Isaac's aroace revelation was filmed in series 2 was filmed just to have him blurt it out in an aquarium and have barely any of his friends actually support him like he supported them. But life imitates art I guess. This whole season we've seen characters talking about university plans, gap years and going through the post-16 struggle. But what about Isaac? We never find out what uni he wants to go to or even if he wants to go. What subjects does he like? What job does he want post-school? What's his relationship like with his family? The people need to know! I always found it weird how Isaac was left out to the point where straight characters, whilst still bearing in mind that Tao x Elle is an interracial pairing between two POC and one of which is a trans girl and this is very rare and deserved representation too, had gotten more screentime than him. Imogen, Sahar, Mr Ajayi and Mr Farouk had all been introduced for bigger storylines but Isaac, despite being in the main group, still had to wait for his share. This series was such a huge moment for everyone but Isaac... again. And whilst I'm happy if everyone else is, I genuinely feel like we all deserve better.
Tori was given bigger moments this series and that was great because I was waiting for my introverted slurping sister to come through. Her concern and care for Charlie and jealousy of Nick were great plus with the introduction of Michael, it was all leading to the big reveal of Tori being ace, right? Right? Wrong, because this scene was cut from the ferris wheel moment and I have no idea why. Oseman confirmed it was because Tori's storyline will continue in s4 and she didn't want to rush it but like, what? Series 3, at least in my eyes, did an alright job at building up her coming out. And again, if Nick could get his bi awakening in a one series arc, why can't this asexual character then too? They also covered Darcy's non-binary transition and coming out in this series too so I don't know why there wasn't room for Tori apparently. There was plenty of room for an 'I'm asexual' within those 5 minutes. Waiting to develop her in series 4, which is yet to be confirmed and likely to be the show's last series so it will already have a lot to do with wrapping up the Nick x Charlie saga seems like a poor decision. This is the second time we've had to wait till next season for the aspec character's arc by the way.
I'd like to see some aroallo POVs on this but this season put a lot of emphasis on linking love and sex together and it felt a bit strange icl. Yes, they're linked socially/societally and it's great to have sex with someone you love and love someone you have sex with etc etc etc but the first 2 series made a point of separating the two by showing love without sex and how it was just as meaningful. Almost every time a character was sexually attracted to another e.g. calling them hot or started making out because they wanted to have sex in that given moment there would be a dialogue from one of them going 'it's okay we're in love 'it's normal you're in love' 'well that's what people in love do!' and these are all correct statements but like... we get it! You don't have to be head over heels in love to find someone sexually attractive or just want to have sex with them. It's okay if you're not in love too y'know? I'm not sure what that constant reassurance was for because depicting sex without love isn't as pearl clutchy as it seems when all parties are safe, consenting and comfortable, or, if you've ever had any knowledge about aro(allo) spaces tbf. Nick and Charlie are not aspec and are very much sexually attracted to each other so the conclusion of them having sex isn't surprising at all, especially when I already knew from tweets back in series 1 that Heartstopper the comic already had a storyline later on of the two having sex for the first time. Plus the other characters aren't aspec either so their sexual debuts are also unsurprising and deserved. Plus, I'm actually glad they included Tara and Darcy having sex because many 'sex positive' shows seem to leave out the lesbians. But for a show with an aroace creator and aspec characters, the depictions of romance and sex don't feel like they were written from an aspec lense or for an aspec audience. It's normal for people to be romantically and sexually attracted to each other and then date and have sex. But if you're aspec, you know this. We all know this. This is the mainstream and default depiction of human (hetero)sexuality. We're watching the queer shows to see something different from that. When romance without sex can only hinge on the characters being below the age of consent plus a supposed 'innocence' due to their young age and sex without love is non existent, plus when you factor in how there are no aroallo or alloace characters in the show with 'groundbreaking' aspec representation, it makes for a bit of a headscratcher. Heartstopper may be made by an aspec, has aspec characters and aspec fans, I don't consider it an aspec show. Bit sad, but it is what it is.
It's honestly strange how despite this fact, asexuality and aromanticism is barely mentioned in the main discourse about this show. Antis claim Oseman is a cishet woman despite being non-binary and aroace. They blame the sexlessness of the show on puritanism despite Oseman being aroace. There's constant arguments about how 'unrealistic' it is for teenagers to not have sex despite Isaac being a whole teenage aroace and how some people just didn't have sex in their teens... like aspecs. People are annoyed the show keeps giving Isaac aromantic and asexual storylines because it's 'not as important' and they 'don't care' as if he's not a main cast member and again, the creator is aroace! If you look at the promo pictures of the show, it has the main three pairings, Nick and Charlie, Tao and Elle and Tara and Darcy and no Isaac. Despite the fact it's supposed to be 'for' us and made by one of us, it's not. And a lot of non aspec queer fans watching the show don't see it for us despite being made by one of us either. And that's a real shame.
I'm fully aware Oseman knows about writing aroace characters from the book Loveless, which has an aroace MC. But I think Netflix choosing to adapt Heartstopper over Loveless was intentional. I think Netflix creating Isaac instead of Aled, a demi gay non-binary character from the og comic, was intentional. I think all the decisions Netlix made with Isaac and Tori are intentional, the same way bringing Yasmin Benoit to the Sex Education writers room to cut half of O's storylines was intentional. Netflix has fumbled the bag with asexual and aromantic representation several times now (Cash Piggot and Todd notwithstanding) so at this point, I'm not surprised anymore. Again, I'm happy for anyone who really likes Heartstopper, but I've finally accepted that it's not for me. And that's okay. When someone makes the predominantly aspec, slightly more grown, queer show with fully fleshed out arcs for its's asexual and/or aromantic characters or hits up Lovie Simone for the scrapped Selah and the Spades TV show, I know where I'll be.
We deserved our moments too. We deserve our Heartstopper.

Comfort Food
Summary: Jessica, a self-proclaimed foodie, helps her classmate Harry study for their Biology test.
Warnings: None. Pure fluff.
Word Count: 4.9k+
A/N: College/Uni Harry x OC written in first person. Originally posted in 2019. I realize I've been reposting a lot of fluff lately, but apparently that was the mood I was in back then. I feel like this story is very relatable though, no matter your age. We all want to be liked, but sometimes we let our own insecurities stop us from believing we deserve it.
Most people didn’t notice me. Guys especially. They didn’t see me. I don’t mean they didn’t look at me exactly, but when they did it was like they were looking through me. There might as well have been a prettier girl standing behind me that they were really looking at, and I suppose at times that may have been the case.
“Five eighty,” the tired woman at the register said with a sigh. I handed her a five and a one before waiting for the clinking sound of two dimes that dropped from the side of the register into a little metal dish.
I gripped my tray with both hands and made my way to the farthest end of the cafeteria, choosing the booth next to the window where someone hadn’t already taken it upon themselves to open the blinds. I hated sitting in streaming, hot sunshine while I ate my food.
I’d just taken a bite of the macaroni and cheese - the main reason why I frequented this cafeteria - when I heard someone speak.
“Hey, I know you.”
I jumped as I looked up at the boy who stood near the restrooms, thinking surely there was someone behind me he was greeting instead. His name was Harry. I had a class with him, I knew that much, but there was no way he even knew I existed. He was tall with a curly mop of hair on his head and big green eyes that if I wasn’t careful, I could get lost in. I quickly blinked and looked back down at my lunch.
“I have a class with you, right?” he continued, stepping closer to my table. Okay so obviously he was talking to me after all.
I shrugged. “I guess.”
“Yeah. What is it, Psych?”
“Bio,” I muttered.
“What was that?” It was then that he took it upon himself to slide into the booth across from me.
“Biology,” I answered, glaring at him.
“Oh, right! Biology. Professor Graham.”
I nodded, sucking in my lips.
“You sit in front of me, end of the row. What’s your name again?”
“Jessica.”
“Jessica,” he repeated with a lopsided grin. “That’s right.”
Harry rested his elbow on the table, his chin in his hand as he stared at me. He seemed to be studying me for a while, though I wasn’t sure if he was really looking at my face or thinking of something else. Either way, he was silent for so long, even as I tried to ignore him and eat my mac and cheese, I began to get nervous. Finally he spoke again.
“Is that good?” he inquired.
“What?”
“That,” he pointed. “What you’re eating.”
I nodded emphatically. “Mhm. You wouldn’t think so, coming from a cafeteria, but it’s really good actually. It’s just like-”
“Hey, Harry!”
I turned my head to see a table full of people, one of the guys waving Harry over. I recognized him from class too. He sat next to Harry. I narrowed my eyes.
“You have your friends get your food for you?”
He made a face as he leaned forward to whisper, “Only 'cause I had to wee really bad.”
A giggle slipped from my throat before I could stop it. I quickly covered my mouth in embarrassment, but Harry only gave me another lopsided grin.
“I guess I should go,” he finally gestured toward the other table.
I nodded.
“Maybe they got me some of that,” he pointed at my mac and cheese as he rose from the booth. “Good to see you, Jessica. Have a nice lunch.”
“You too,” I managed a smile.
“Oh,” he stopped suddenly, his sneakers squeaking on the tile as he backed up. Then he turned to me, his big hands spread out across his chest. “I’m Harry, by the way.”
As if I didn’t know.
I could hear his voice before I saw him. I was already at my desk, concentrating on my notes from Friday when I heard Harry talking to Sam, the boy who sat next to him. I didn’t listen to what they were talking about, however, until I saw Harry’s legs stop on the step next to my desk and I heard my name at the same time a pen poked me in the shoulder. I removed my eyes from my notes and followed the long, denim clad legs up to a black t-shirt and finally green eyes.
“Sorry?” I asked.
“Just saying hi,” he smiled before bringing his pen to his mouth and biting on it. Then he took the final step and took his regular seat on the row behind me.
“Oh,” I whispered, though I figured he didn’t hear me. “Hi.”
“How was the rest of your weekend?”
For some reason I thought Harry had returned to his conversation with Sam, but then he said my name again.
“Huh?” I twisted in my seat.
“I asked how the rest of your weekend was,” he smirked. “After I saw you.”
“Oh,” I shrugged. “Fine, I guess.”
“Good.” His dimples displayed in his cheeks which made me quickly look away.
“Oh hey,” I heard him add. “I did get to try that mac and cheese. And you were right. Surprisingly good.”
I felt myself smile just as Professor Graham took his place in the front of class and began his lecture.
I’d just slung my backpack over my arm when Harry said my name for the third time in an hour. I turned to look at him, his long arms slipping through the straps of his own backpack.
“Yes?” I asked timidly.
“I have a favor to ask,” he said, taking the top step down to my level. I noticed he was picking at his bottom lip before he tucked it between his teeth.
“Favor?”
“It’s kind of embarrassing,” he admitted. “I’m a fairly decent student. So I don’t usually ask for help. But this class...well, I’m not doing as well in it to be honest. And we got that test next Monday.”
My stomach lurched as I realized what he was implying.
“You need a tutor?” I asked.
Harry tilted his head and a curl fell over his eye.
“I was thinking more like a study partner?” He said it in a question, probably out of nerves. I thought it was cute.
But I knew the truth. Cute or not, Harry was wanting help to get a good grade. Guys like Harry didn’t ask girls like me to “study”. Study partner was a term used for pretty, bubbly girls who were probably making the same grade the boy was - an excuse to be with them without actually asking them on a date. Harry was not asking me for that. He wanted a tutor.
“Um…” I sucked in my lips, then nodded. “Yeah, sure, okay.”
Harry let out a deep breath and his shoulders dropped. “God, thanks Jessica. I really appreciate-”
“I’ll be at the Franklin Library tonight at seven,” I interrupted. “I can stay as late as you need.”
“That’s...that’s perfect actually. I’ll be there.”
I nodded sharply. “Okay.”
I turned to make my way down the steps, feeling Harry’s presence looming behind me.
“Thank you, Jessica,” he said again when we reached the bottom. Then I felt his hand on my shoulder for a split second before he turned for the door. For some strange reason I froze in my spot, watching him reach the exit, then look back one last time and smile.
With the sleeve of my sweater, I covered my mouth and made an inaudible squeal into my arm.
“No, see that’s where you’re getting confused,” I pointed to the diagram in the book.
“Tell me about it,” Harry let out a frustrated sigh. “Actually it’s not so much confusing, it’s just a lot of names and shit to memorize.”
I chuckled slightly and sat back. “Science is a lot of memorizing,” I agreed.
“If I have the book in front of me, I get it. But obviously I can’t do that for the test.”
“Then we’ll keep studying until we get it right,” I offered as Harry scribbled some notes.
Looking up from his paper, he peered at me behind the curl that had fallen over his eye again. It took all my gumption not to reach out and push it away.
“So, Jessica, can I ask you something?”
I instantly felt myself blush and looked down at my own notes.
“Um...if you’re asking if I was a straight A student in high school, the answer is yes. But no, I wasn’t valedictorian. That title went to Joseph Larkin.”
Harry snorted and I glared at him.
“I wasn’t going to ask that.”
“Oh.”
With a smirk that I would have deemed cocky if Harry didn’t seem like such a nice person, he sat back in his chair and crossed his arms.
“Why the macaroni and cheese?”
“What?” I asked incredulously.
“From that cafeteria. You’d barely said two words to me until I asked you about it, then all of a sudden your face lit up and you were eager to tell me how good it was.”
With another pink blush to my cheeks, I pretended to doodle on my paper.
“It’s my ultimate comfort food,” I admitted.
“Why’s that?”
“It’s the closest to my grandma’s that I’ve found anywhere. The rest of the food there is…” I shrugged, “it’s okay I guess. But I go there just for the mac and cheese.”
“Ah, so it’s sort of sentimental for you.”
I tilted my head from side to side.
“That...and...I’m sort of a foodie,” I explained.
“Yeah? Do you cook?”
“A little. But I’m more of like...a connoisseur of particular things. Like I have favorite items that I like to order from almost any restaurant in town, even if it’s not particularly what they’re known for.”
“Oh!” grinned Harry, leaning forward on the table, his arms crossed in front of him. “I’d be interested in picking your brain, then.”
“Go for it.”
“So if I name a place, you can tell me what to eat?”
“Pretty much. Except that Mediterranean place on 5th Street. Nothing is good there, trust me.” I made a gagging noise which made Harry laugh.
“Alright then. How about…” he tapped his chin with his finger, “that steak place by the cinema.”
I rolled my eyes. “Are you kidding me? The double fudge brownie a la mode.”
“That’s a dessert!” Harry quipped.
“Doesn’t matter. It’s the best thing on the menu. Plus I’m not a big steak person.”
“Noted,” he raised a brow. “What about Michaelangelo’s?”
“Chicken Marsala. And the stuffed mushrooms are good. Unfortunately there’s something in their marinara sauce I’m allergic to.”
“That’s too bad. What about Chinese? Do you like Asian food?”
“I like most of it, yeah,” I replied. “Oh! The best is this amazing chicken soup from that place on 8th and Morton. My mom used to get it for me whenever I was sick. I don’t know what they put in it, but I almost always feel better the next day.”
Harry smiled at me, his dimples dipping in his cheeks. I felt myself blush and looked down at the table.
“We should go get some,” I heard him say.
“They’re probably closed now,” I commented before I realized he probably didn’t mean right then.
“Oh! Yeah!” Harry looked at his phone. It was after eleven. “Shit, I didn’t realize it was so late.”
“Yeah I should get home.”
I shoved my book in my backpack and zipped it up.
“Can I walk you?” Harry asked.
“Oh, um...no, I have my car.”
“You don’t live on campus?”
I shook my head.
“Oh.” Harry looked disappointed. Or maybe I was just hoping he did. “Can I at least walk you to your car?”
I tried to hide my smile. “Sure.”
Stepping out into the cold night, I was glad I’d brought my winter coat instead of just my hoodie. Harry, however was only in a light jacket. I did notice how he walked a little closer to me, but I didn’t say anything until he did.
“It’s changing seasons now I reckon.”
“Yeah. Is it far to your building?”
“Nah, just over there,” he pointed across the street.
“Oh, that’s good.”
We made it to my car and I thanked him for walking with me before I opened the door and climbed inside.
“Jessie,” he said, his voice low, his arm on the door. “Can I call you Jessie?”
I bit my lip and nodded. Nobody else called me that, but I would gladly let him call me anything he wanted.
“Good,” he beamed. “You look like a Jessie to me. Anyway, do you think we could do this again? Studying, I mean, at the library.”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
“It’s just...the test isn’t for a week but I really wanna make sure I know this stuff…”
I reached a hand out and touched his bicep. “It’s no problem, Harry. I’m happy to help.”
“Great!” he said. “Is tomorrow too soon?”
“No, it’s fine with me. Same time?”
“Yeah. Thanks Jessie.”
“You’re welcome. Goodnight, Harry.”
“There’s no way Danny’s has better donuts than Esther’s,” Harry argued. “I’m sorry Miss Foodie, but I will have to disagree with you there.”
I laughed at his nickname and shook my head. “Not all the donuts,” I pointed out. “Just the jelly-filled. If I want a jelly donut, I go to Danny’s, no contest.”
“But have you had the cinnamon cake donuts from Esther’s?”
“I have,” I nodded. “And I agree, they’re good. But jelly is the best.”
Harry rolled his eyes which made me laugh harder. I covered my face with my hands, remembering we were in a library.
Harry and I had been at it since seven, studying for the Biology exam, but somehow we’d made it to the subject of food once again, just like we had almost all week, except for a couple days when we couldn’t meet.
“Alright, Harry,” I said once I calmed down. “Test is tomorrow. What do you think?” It was Sunday evening and the library closed early.
“I think I want another week,” he groaned.
“Harry!”
“Okay, okay, I think I’ve got it. I’ll at least squeak by and get a C.”
“Gee, thanks,” I scoffed.
Harry smirked, giving my chair a tiny shove under the table. “I’m teasing you, darling.”
I blushed for the upteenth time that week and gave a gentle grin. “Oh.”
“You’ve been a tremendous help, Jessie,” he added. “I’m actually sad the week is ending. I’ve enjoyed spending time with you.”
“Oh,” I repeated.
“You know,” he raised a brow as he packed up his books, “since we’ve been talking about food so much, I was thinking after this test is over we should go out.”
“What?” I stared at him in disbelief.
“Out to eat,” he offered. “Someplace you like. Not that Mediterranean restaurant or the one by the cinema, obviously.”
“Um...really? Um...I don’t know.” I stumbled.
“Yeah. Why not?”
“Um...I’m...I’m kind of busy,” I said.
Harry pouted, then blinked. “Every day?”
“Well…” I hesitated, knowing fully well that was a lie. “Maybe not. Um...yeah, sure we could do that...sometime.”
“Cool,” Harry beamed, “wanna give me your number?”
I stared at him while he pulled out his phone. Touching a few things, he looked up at me.
“Go ahead,” he urged. But I was frozen.
Guys like Harry didn’t ask for phone numbers from girls like me.
“Jessie?” he asked.
Finally I cleared my throat and recited my number. With a genuine smile, Harry typed it into his phone.
“I just texted you,” he said. “So now you have mine.”
“Okay,” I breathed.
Harry walked me to my car like always and waved goodbye as I drove off. When I got home and dropped my bag on the chair beside my bed, I quickly dug out my phone. I didn’t use it all that often; no one ever called me. It was more for emergencies. But there it was. A text.
Hey Miss Foodie. Good luck on the test tomorrow. And thanks for all your help.
Text me when you get home please.
I bit my bottom lip to keep from smiling as big as I wanted. But it was no use. The smile won out. He’d said please for gosh sakes.
I’m home.
Hey, thanks for letting me know. Just wanted to make sure you got home safely.
Ok.
Goodnight Jessie. See you in the morning.
Goodnight Harry
I could tell my texts were short and bland, even for someone who doesn’t text much. But I didn’t know what else to say.
The test went smoothly, at least I thought. I finished mine a little early and turned it in to Professor Graham. When I reached the door, I looked back and saw Harry with his lopsided grin. I waved and he gave me a thumbs up.
That afternoon I heard my phone buzz which startled me since that didn’t happen often. Harry sent me a short text saying he thought he might’ve aced the test. I told him I wouldn’t doubt it.
Professor Graham said the scores would be posted that night online. Just after I checked mine, and gave myself a mental high five for the perfect score, my phone rang.
“Hello?” I answered.
“A ninety, Jessie! I got a ninety!”
“Harry, that’s great!” I cheered.
“Well, it’s not acing it, but close. Definitely the best score I’ve ever gotten on a science test.”
“I’m happy for you!”
“Couldn’t have done it without you, Jessie!”
I smiled, though he couldn’t see me.
“I really appreciate all your help,” he continued. “Although we probably spent at least half of the study time talking about food.”
I chuckled. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be. I like talking to you.”
“I like talking to you, too,” I said before I could stop the words.
“Good. So let’s talk now,” I could practically hear the lopsided grin in his voice. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing. Just checked my score.”
“You aced it, didn’t you?”
I was silent.
“Of course you did,” he teased. “Smarty pants.”
“Well I was your tutor,” I quipped.
“Study partner,” he corrected.
I laughed louder.
“I like your laugh,” he said. “It’s cute.”
For the next hour, I was not myself. I was some other person, some other version of Jessica. I was Jessie, I supposed, Harry’s study partner. A girl with a cute laugh who got phone calls and texts from curly headed boys with lopsided grins. I didn’t recognize myself.
By the time I got off the phone, my face was flushed, and my smile seemed permanently glued to my face. Washing up before bed, I stared in the mirror, reminding myself who I really was.
Girls like me didn’t get phone calls and laugh for over an hour with boys like Harry. Most people didn’t notice me. Guys especially.
Wednesday morning when I walked into Bio, Harry was already there, which was a first. In fact, he was sitting in my seat, a white paper bag in front of him on the desk and a goofy grin on his face like he had a secret he was dying to tell.
“What are you doing?” I asked with a chuckle.
“Brought you something,” he replied, pointing to the bag. Then he slid into the empty seat next to mine that was usually occupied by Omar.
Taking my seat, I grabbed the bag and opened it, the sweet aroma hitting my nostrils immediately.
A jelly donut from Danny’s.
“What is this for?” I asked him incredulously.
“For helping me with the Bio test,” he said. Then a wide grin spread across his face as his cheeks blushed a rosy pink, much like mine had been doing since last Monday. “And maybe because I kinda like you.”
“What?” My eyes widened like saucers.
He looked down at the desk and back at me. “Alright. Truth? It’s not a maybe. And I don’t just kinda like you. I do like you. A lot, actually.”
“No you don’t,” I snapped before I even realized the words had left my lips. I regretted them instantly, especially after seeing the hurt look on Harry’s face.
“I don’t?”
“Well...I mean...you can’t.”
“Why can’t I?” He leaned closer to me. “Do you have a boyfriend?” he whispered. Then he seemed to consider something else. “Or a girlfriend?”
I shook my head. “No. I mean...guys like you don’t like girls like me.”
Harry narrowed his eyes, his expression looking like all the gears in his brain were turning around all of the words I’d said.
“What exactly are...guys like me...and girls like you? As far as I can tell, I’m a guy...no, not even that. I’m a person. And you’re a person. And I like you. What’s wrong with that?”
“Because it’s…” I stumbled. “I don’t know. You’re just...well you’re you.”
“I am me,” he agreed. “At least I hope I am.”
I tried not to laugh as I shook my head. “We’re different, Harry.”
“How so?” Harry crossed his arms over his chest. I glanced over towards the door and saw Michelle Young walk in. She was tall and pretty and when she walked into a room, people noticed.
“Have you looked at you?” I sighed.
Harry looked down at his lap and held out his arms, pretending to inspect himself. He was really making this hard for me.
“Her!” I gestured toward Michelle who was taking her seat. “That’s the kind of girl that gets attention. Guys like you go out with girls like her.”
Harry seemed to study Michelle longer than I would have liked, but when he turned back to me, he merely shrugged.
“She’s okay, I guess. But I haven’t gotten to know her and spend time with her. She may be a lovely person, or she may be a bore. I like you, Jessie.”
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Being around Harry definitely made me feel a certain way, but I didn’t think he would ever in my wildest dreams feel the same about me. I needed time to process it.
Professor Graham walked into the room then, and the class quieted. Omar shuffled in after the Professor so Harry walked around me to his seat behind me. For the next hour I was grateful he didn’t have to see my face. Because I had no idea what emotions they revealed.
When the lecture was over, Harry asked if we could talk. I told him I had to get to my next class, but he could text me later. And I told him thanks for the donut.
I didn’t get a text from Harry that afternoon, which was rather disappointing, but I tried not to dwell on it. I knew he was out of my league anyway and figured he finally decided for himself.
That night, however, after I ate dinner with my mom and did some homework, I realized I had a voicemail.
“Jessie…” he hesitated. “I’m not exactly sure what I did. But whatever it is, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you off, if I came on too strong. I just...I like you and um.... I don’t really understand this ‘girls like you’ thing you mentioned. But...I think you’re great. And I wish we could go out. But...if you don’t want to, it’s okay. Text me if you want...or call...or whatever. Bye.”
I sat on the edge of my bed with my phone in my hand for nearly twenty minutes. I was too chicken to call. I didn’t know what I would say. And apparently I didn’t know what to say in a text either because everything I’d type I’d just end up deleting before I could send it. Finally I just typed four words.
I like you too.
Harry didn’t reply to my text that night. Or at least not before I fell asleep. But I awoke to new messages Thursday morning.
Thank God!!!
When do you wanna go out??
Oh by the way, how was the donut?
I laughed as I got ready for school, sending him a quick reply that we could go out that weekend if he was available and that the jelly donut was the bomb.
I felt different all day. I seemed to have a hop in my step and a smile on my face at all times. For the first time in a long time, something - other than food - made me...happy.
But the hop and smile were short-lived. That night Harry called me and he sounded terrible.
“I think I’m getting a cold,” he moaned.
“Oh no.”
“I wanted to take you out tomorrow,” he added.
“It’s okay,” I assured him. “We can do it another time.”
“I’m sorry, Jessie.”
We talked for a little longer, but Harry’s coughing was getting worse so we said goodnight.
Harry didn’t make it to Biology the next morning either. I felt awful for him, but more than that, I missed him. Granted, he sat behind me, but just knowing his seat was empty made my heart ache.
After my next class, I had a plan. Taking a detour to 8th and Morton, I made a special purchase before heading to the dorms across from the Franklin Library. I didn’t know which one exactly was Harry’s, but as luck would have it, I saw Omar from Bio walking up to the building and I asked him.
His door was at the end of the hall. Taking a deep breath, I knocked three times. I heard some sort of sounds coming from inside before a latch was released and the door swung open.
“Jessie!” Harry exclaimed in surprise. “What are you doing here?”
He sniffled, then brought a tissue to his mouth which he coughed into. He looked like Rudolph with his red nose. I had the sudden urge to kiss it, but instead I made myself speak.
“I came to check on you,” I admitted.
“Oh. That’s sweet of you. I’m sorry I’m…” he paused to cough again, “...sick.”
I frowned at his obvious look of disappointment as though he really was more upset that he was sick under the circumstances. I found it endearing.
“Harry, get back inside,” I said, pushing him into his room and shutting the door behind me.
“You brought me something?” he asked, eyeing the bag in my hand.
I smiled, holding it up. “Soup. Now sit.”
Mustering up a smile of his own, he followed my orders and sat at the desk behind him. I opened the bag and pulled out the large container of soup and a spoon.
“Eat up, buttercup,” I sang. Then I sat on the nearby bed as I watched Harry dig in. After the first spoonful, he made a sound and looked at me with wide eyes.
“‘s so good!”
“Told ya! It’s my favorite comfort food. You’ll probably be feeling better by tomorrow.”
“I thought the mac and cheese was your favorite comfort food.”
I rolled my eyes. Okay so he paid attention. “Fine, second favorite.”
Despite his illness, Harry smirked before focusing again on the soup. I smiled and started to lie back on the bed.
“Is this your bed?” I asked.
He nodded.
“Okay, good. Didn’t wanna lie on someone else’s,” I joked.
“But you might not wanna lie on mine since I’ve been sick.”
He had a point. I sighed. “I don’t care.”
Harry ate a little more than half the container before he had another coughing fit. He grabbed a nearby water bottle that he’d apparently been drinking from and guzzled it down.
“‘m Sorry, Jessie,” he whined. “I think I need to lie down.”
“Oh, of course,” I agreed, sitting up. I was about to stand when he stopped me.
“Lie with me,” he said. “Just for a little bit.”
I blinked before he practically pulled me down with him, not having the chance to argue. Harry wrapped his arms around me and I instantly felt warm. I laid my head on his chest and felt his breaths, a nice steady rhythm that soothed me.
“This is so nice,” he murmured. “No one’s ever done anything like this for me before.”
I hummed against his chest and he pulled me tighter.
“You know, the soup was great. But if I do end up better by tomorrow, I reckon it’ll be because of you.”
I lifted my head to look at his face. His eyes were bloodshot and his cheeks were flushed, but more than anything I saw...something else. Sincerity.
“Me?” I whispered.
Harry pushed a strand of hair away from my cheek.
“I really like you, Jessie. I think you’re kind and thoughtful, smart and funny, cute and sweet.”
I smiled at him as he traced the back of his hand across my cheek.
“I think you might be my comfort food,” he grinned.
I couldn’t help but giggle at that.
“Smooth, Harry,” I poked.
“Hey, you liked it, admit it.”
It was cheesier than the mac and cheese I so loved. But it was also sweeter than a jelly donut. I could make my own silly analogies. But regardless, it was great to hear.
“I do admit it,” I nodded. “And I like you, too. A lot.”
Tilting his head, Harry leaned in, his lips grazing mine before taking my face in his hands and kissing me tenderly.

modern!uni!aemond targaryen x reader
summary: Being Helaena’s roommate and his bestfriend, dating Aemond was always supposed to be out of the question. Yet hooking up caused feelings to blossom. When you push him to consider more, you are left with nothing until the silence makes both of you cave. word count: 4.1k a/n: this was supposed to just be smut but i crave plot warnings: SMUT [p in v], slight angst, lil praise kink, pet names
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
There had never been a firm relationship to your relationship with Aemond Targaryen. The people closest to you in your lives knew that you had been quite close to your best friend ever since Helaena invited you home for a weekend from university during your freshman year. Aemond had been a high school senior at the time and you were Helaena’s roommate who had nothing to do over the holiday weekend.
A year had passed and now both of you were students at King’s Guard University, where his older two siblings attended too. Aemond had been quickly initiated into the same fraternity as Aegon through some light persuasion from his mother, but still remained primarily focused on his studies. During his first semester, Aemond would often come over to you and Helaena’s apartment for dinner or join in for the weekly movie night. Then it dissolved into you and Aemond studying together, either in his dorm or your room. Now you were… here.
Here was a strange place to be. Nearly every other weekend, Aemond was planted between your thighs or occupying your evenings in some other way. And though you had moved on to become an interesting mix between best friends and friends with benefits, you never shared that with anyone.
When Baela questioned whose boxers were idly tossed in your room, you passed it off as a one-night stand. Aemond received the same insufferable questioning but from his eldest brother, Aegon. He’d ask who Aemond was fucking that made his baby brother bearable to be around, which was often met with a harsh glare. Yet neither of you spilled the secret of your confidential nights tangled up in bed together. It surprised you how easily Aemond and you could pass off his ‘couch sleepovers’ to Helaena.
This past weekend, Helaena had been out of town with her anthropology class to a convention and excavation happening. This left the apartment to you alone, which meant you and Aemond taking full advantage of the opportunity. When Helaena was home, Aemond usually muffled your moans with a hand covering your mouth. But only this morning as he pressed you up against the shower wall, his name poured past your lips like a sacred prayer.
Now, you stood in the kitchen scrambling some eggs while dressed only in his flannel that barely covered your most intimate area. Moments later, Aemond moved into the kitchen with just a towel hanging lowly on his hips. His hair was still damp and hung in its natural waves, much like Helaena’s hair. You always thought to tell him to leave his hair natural, enjoying how the messy waves framed his face, but you would hate to overstep.
When dumping the eggs out onto two plates, Aemond gently wrapped his arms around your lower waist. His head rested on your shoulder, watching your gentle movements, “Breakfast for me? Guess I earned it.”
You swatted at his arm, catching the double meaning in his words, “I made you breakfast because I’m nice, loser.”
He chuckled, taking one of the plates from your hand. In the peace of the kitchen, you leaned against the counters across from each other, enjoying your food. It was a comfortable silence until your mind started to drift. The slight increase of your heartbeat coerced you into saying something.
“This is nice,” You said plainly, hoping he might catch on.
“Yeah. Your scrambled eggs are far better than my mother’s. Never tell her I said that though,” Both of you chuckled at this comment before allowing it to settle once more.
“Yeah, but no, I mean,” You took a deep breath, “This is nice…”
The air suddenly turned stale as Aemond pieced your meaning together, “Oh…”
Without another word or acknowledgment of your statement, Aemond placed his plate in the sink and turned to go back to your room. Your brow furrowed at this, seeing how he shrugged off your words, “Oh? What do you mean Oh?”
Quickly, you set down your plate. Crossing to your room, Aemond had shut and locked the door, “Open the door, Targaryen.”
“I’m changing,” He duly replied.
You sighed, but didn’t pressure him further, just talking to him through the door, “Aemond, you can’t just leave me hanging on Oh?”
Sighing, you leaned against the wall adjacent to your door, waiting for him. The couple of minutes that he spent getting dressed felt as if they lasted eons. Finally, the door opened to reveal Aemond dressed in his usual outfit of a loose-fitting white t-shirt and black jeans. He had tugged the rest of his silver hair back into a low bun.
“Aemond, please, let’s talk about this,” You looked at him, fear beating at your chest,
He took one glance at you before reaching for his phone and keys, “I’m sorry.”
Without another word, Aemond had left you alone and heartbroken in the middle of your apartment. --
For the next week, it would be safe to say that your relationship with Aemond had become strained. Neither of you exchanged texts or calls as usual, never grabbed lunch together, or even sat together in your shared classes. It was torture, but you wouldn’t further wound your pride by groveling for him to come back. Both of you were adults and if Aemond still wanted to just be your friend, then you could wait for such a time.
But it became difficult when the weekend rolled around once more. In order to not raise suspicion, Aemond came over to dinner with Helaena on Friday night. Except you quickly ditched dinner with your roomie and her brother to instead go out with Baela and Rhaena for separate plans. The same occurred the next day when Aemond came over to continue watching a series that the three of you enjoyed together. You waved them off, claiming that you had errands to run that could not be postponed.
It seemed that it would be easy to avoid Aemond, though it did sadden you that you in turn spent less time with Helaena. But you couldn’t stand the uncertainty that Aemond had left you with last Sunday morning…
But now you were tied to plans that did not align with your intention to rarely cross paths with the second Targaryen son ever again. Not only had Baela and Rhaena roped you into a party, but Helaena did too, all claiming that a night of fun would get your so-called ‘funk’ out of your system. Though a party typically would excite you, it caused stress to course through your body instead, knowing that you’d be spending the evening partying at Aegon and Aemond’s frat.
But your friends were none the wiser of the reason for your hesitancy. But with some compliments on how hot you looked and a few shots to pregame, you all made your way to the frat house, arm in arm.
--
Drunk college students filled every room and lined every wall of the house. Those who weren’t dancing on elevated surfaces or standing around were sitting on the couches either complaining or making out with whoever occupied the seat next to them.
You remained tucked in between your group of friends, cups filled with mixed drinks in your hands. The four of you giggled as you spoke of the party-goers surrounding you, placing dibs on where each of you would end your night.
Yet your laughter quickly died when you spotted him. Aemond’s violet eye was trained on you and you could feel it as he scanned over every inch of your body. It was the look of desire and as it flashed in his eye, it would send shivers down your spine, out across your body. You hated how reactive you were to him, even while upset.
Cutting your attention back to your friends, you tried to forget about Aemond for the night. You realized that such a task is easier said than done, but you wanted to truly enjoy having a girl’s night. So with the agreement of your friends, you all filed into the backyard for another round of shots and eventually were roped into playing a drinking game.
It was a game you had played quite a bit during your freshman year that permitted you to get drunk quickly depending on the amount of people playing. Currently, nine people were surrounding the table stacked with cups of varying liquors. You were shoulder to shoulder between Baela and a random brother you hadn’t introduced yourself to yet. That was until Aemond came and squeezed himself in between you and the dude that he simply shot a stern look at.
You wanted to change positions just to further irritate Aemond in your little silent treatment, but before you could, the game began. Immediately, Rhaena went up against Cregan attempting to bounce a ball into one of the red plastic cups. Being a natural shot, Cregan easily beat Rhaena, stacking his cup on top of her own. She quickly grabbed another cup, drinking its contents before firing back against her next competition.
The game continued to move around the table in continuation, cheering being heard surrounding the group. Finally, down to the last two cups, a shot, and the loser’s cup, you were up against Helaena. With a shot of luck, Helaena managed to stack her cup into yours before you could even toss the little ball.
It was down to you against Aemond. After you finished the shot from a fresh cup, you immediately began firing. The air was intense as both of you focused on making the goal into the cup. Your ball would just barely make it in before bouncing off the rim. Frustrated, you took your measures to secure one last chance. Roughly, you bumped against Aemond’s arm, causing him to misfire. He shot you a fierce look, yet you shrugged it off.
Taking your best chance, you positioned yourself to what you prayed to be the winning shot. But before you knew what happened, Aemond returned your cheating favor, bumping his hips into yours. The ball rolled away and instead, Aemond made the landing shot.
You scoffed with a laugh as Aemond passed your original cup back to Helaena while you took the last remaining shot. Now, only the loser’s cup, filled with a peculiar mix of alcohol, sat in the middle of the table. It was not something you wanted to have to force down your throat, much less deal with the hangover that would definitely follow.
Helaena and you were now down to the wire, firing away. Sadly, your roommate did not have the same luck as earlier when going against you. Instead, you landed a winning shot, the unfortunate loser’s cup now being Helaena’s to finish.
Surprisingly, Helaena chugged it like a pro, throwing the cup over her head upon finishing the drink. With a laugh, you all went back inside to dance together and continue the night.
A couple of hours had passed and the alcohol had taken hold of each of your friends at varying levels. Despite taking a few shots yourself, the alcohol did not as heavily impact you due to your faithful attempt to remain sober enough to not end up in somebody’s bed.
“Do worry,” Jacerys, a close friend and Baela’s boyfriend smiled, “I’ll get Baela and Helaena back home safe.”
“No, Jace. Helaena is my roommate, you don’t have to take care of her,” You tried to ease him.
“It’s okay, I promise,” He laughed pointing at your friends, “Plus, they apparently pinky promised each other that they would have a sleepover tonight.”
With a giggle and final nod of agreement, you allowed Jace to lead the girls back to Baela’s apartment. Rhaena left a few hours earlier with her ‘friend’, Lucerys, which now left you. As they disappeared down the street, you turned in the direction of your apartment to begin walking home.
However, you were quickly halted by your name being called out. Turning around once more, you caught the man who called for you and rolled your eyes, “What, Aemond? I’m going home.”
“Yeah, I can see that, but,” He paused for a moment, “But I can’t just let you walk all the way back to your place alone. It isn’t safe.”
You shook your head with a cruel laugh under your breath, “It’s two blocks. I’ll be fine. And I’m not getting an Uber either for such a stupidly short distance.”
Once more, you turned on your heel to begin walking. But Aemond took two steps forward, grasping your hand lightly, “Please. Let me just make sure you get back safe.”
Casting your gaze down to the pavement, you thought over it for a moment. He was right… even if you didn’t want to admit that. With a nod of your head, you finally permitted him to walk you back to your flat. At least, just for his peace of mind.
--
You tried saying good night to Aemond when you approached the doors to the complex. That only caused him to become more chatty. So you bid goodbye again in the lobby. And in the elevator. Then down the hall. But he persisted and walked with you all the way to the door of your flat.
“We’ll get you inside, and while you change, I’ll grab you a snack and some water.”
“That isn’t really necessary, Aemond. Helaena and Baela had twice as many drinks as I did, so I’ll be fine,” You tried to coax yourself out of the predicament.
“Let me take care of you, darling. I haven’t seen you all week,” He pressed lightly.
“There might be a reason for that,” You sighed while inserting and twisting the key to your apartment.
“C’mon, I just want to make sure you’re feeling alright and-”
“Stop, Aemond!” You turned and looked up into his eye with a sharp look.
He seemed to straighten his posture as you took an entirely different tone with him, “If you’re being so frigid because of last Sunday, then at least let me come in and make it up to you.”
“No, Aemond, I don’t want you to come inside and take care of me because you’ll just say something stupidly sweet and I’ll want to tug you back into my bed, and I… I can’t do it,” You whined, frustrated at this current situation you found yourself in, “I don’t want to be your best friend that you have the added benefit of hooking up with. I wanted to be with you, and if you aren’t ready for that, fine. But I will not be the girl who continues to be another plaything as your brother has…”
When Aemond fell silent again, you took it as your cue to continue into your apartment. Quickly, you opened the door, just to shut it as quickly. But Aemond was faster, sliding his boot past the door frame and pressing a hand against the door itself.
His reaction caused you to spring back away from the door, heart stammering in your chest. You knew that Aemond, whether or not you were upset with each other, would not harm you. However, something shifted in his demeanor and a fire was ablaze in his eye.
“I’m not my brother,” He spoke in a stern tone, low in his chest, “You don’t mean that.”
Even in his harsh tone, you knew that his words were not out of anger. They came from a place of hurt. Clearly, you had struck a nerve inside him. But you did not answer him, leaving your previous statement to be far more ambiguous. This only spurred Aemond further.
Aemond slithered into the apartment, shutting and locking the front door. He stood tall, his head reaching the top of the door frame easily. He stood there for a long pause, arms folded over his chest as if he were finding words to condemn you. But instead, he was silent which was arguably worse than whatever he could really say.
“Go,” You said half-heartedly.
Then silence again. It only made you frustrated, not with him, but with yourself.
“I don’t believe you actually want me to leave,” He spoke once more.
He then unfolded his arms, taking small steps towards you, “I don’t believe that you want to chill me out of your life. I don’t believe that you enjoy giving me the silent treatment. And I refuse to believe that you don’t want me.”
“What?” You looked surprised. Not by the whole statement, but by his emphasis.
With a sigh, he continued, “You said, ‘I wanted to be with you’, wanted being past tense. I think you still want me.”
Finally, Aemond closed the remaining distance between the pair of you. He raised a gentle hand to caress the side of your cheek, “Am I right about that, sweet girl?”
When you did not answer, Aemond tilted your chin up with a low hum. His eye scanned over your face as if committing it to memory. His warm breath fanned across you, making the gesture that much more intimate.
Finally, Aemond pressed his lips to yours, gently, to test the waters. What he did not expect was the fervor in which you kissed him back. Your hands immediately raked through his silver silk hair, tangling your fingers between the strands. You pressed yourself up against his frame, bodies perfectly molding together.
He reacted by quickly pressing you up against the closest wall, trapping your light moans in his mouth. Yet cruelly, he pulled away while keeping you pinned in place, “So I am right?”
“Fuck you,” You chuckled at his teasing, continuing to grind your hips against his pelvis.
“Trust me, I fully intend to fuck you,” Aemond gingerly nibbled at your bottom lip, “But I do want you to know that I’m done after this.”
Suddenly, the feeling in your stomach dropped. You pressed yourself back to the wall as hard as you could, anything to create distance, “Done?”
“Oh, don’t worry, sweet girl,” Aemond closed in once more, “I’m not done with you. But I am done hiding what we have. I’m done sneaking around Helaena and our friends. I’m done pretending that it doesn’t bother me when other guys flirt with you at a party. I’m done being your hookup. But I am not done loving you. In fact, I only want to be with you properly from now on. How does that sound, darling?”
The breath hitched in your throat as your eyes went wide in pleasant shock. Words were lost on you. All you could do to reply was feverishly nod your head before kissing him once more.
At your eagerness, Aemond began to strip both of you out of the clothes that now only added layers of separation from each other. The shared kisses would only momentarily pause as he pulled your top off or you tugged at his shirt for him to remove.
Finally left in just your underwear, he paused to look at you. His eye did not wander down your body as it typically would. No, Aemond’s eye was trained on your own eyes with nothing but adoration behind them, “I do love you, and have loved you for a while now.”
You giggled at his statement, softly swatting at his lean chest, “C’mon, loser.”
Taking his hands in your own, you began to tug him into your room. He willingly followed with a chuckle of his own, even lightly spanking your bottom once passing through the door frame.
At this, you shoved him back onto your bed, being quick to straddle him. Continuing with your teasing, you ground yourself over his clothed erection, little grunts escaping his barred teeth. Aemond’s hands moved from your hips, up to the clasp of your bra, discarding the garment by tossing it elsewhere in the room. His large calloused hands then moved over your chest to cup the tender flesh of your tits. A small whimper escaped past your lips when his thumb rolled over your sensitive nipple. He continued his own taunts by rolling the bud between two fingers.
Finally, when he had his fill of the tease, Aemond rolled you both over to where you were pinned on the mattress beneath him. A few strands of silver hair had fallen from the loosely tied bun and tickled your face and neck. His hands trailed down your body, gently grazing the skin and leaving goosebumps in the trace of the digits. They lowered down your body until resting at the band of your thong.
With a smirk, Aemond hooked a finger under the band and released it, watching it snap against the skin of your hip. He chuckled at the whine that poured from your surprised face. Then, he hooked his fingers once more and removed them completely, leaving you bare before him. Though you had been naked before him many times before. Aemond took a moment to scan over your body and admire every curve and dip. You were a painting he would admire for eternity.
Aemond then moved forward once more, taking one of your legs against his chest, the ankle hooking over his shoulder. Slowly, he began to pepper kisses from your calf, down your inner thigh, before being faced with your heat. He kissed your thigh once more, before pressing his lips to the sensitive bud at the apex of your cunt. Your reaction caused him to chuckle once more, before he licked a broad strip from your entrance to your clit, “Fuck… you’re so wet for me already.”
His head then bobbed up to meet your lustful gaze. A smirk played at his lips, “Though I’d love to make you come three times over with my tongue, I want to love you. I want our bodies to be one tonight.”
Pressing one last kiss to your mound, Aemond stood, pressing down his boxers as he went. His cock stood firm and leaking with precum, his length was as impressive as always. With one arm wrapped around your leg against his chest, and the other holding his cock, Aemond began to push into your entrance. Once the tip of his head pushed into your warm heat, both of you moaned out in unison at the sensation.
He completed the thrust, fully sheathing himself inside of you. With the position he pulled you into, the head brushed against the spot that made your head spin. As he began to gingerly rock into you, setting a slow pace, the euphoria began to spread through your body.
Aemond dipped down lower as he thrust into you, with your calf dangling over his shoulder. With each cry of his name, he would kiss the skin of your thigh to affirm how well you took all of him, “That’s my sweet girl, moaning out my name so sweetly.”
The pace of his thrusts then began to increase, causing him to drop your leg. Instead, you wrapped them around his torso, bringing Aemond’s lips to meet your own. Passionately, you shared a kiss once more, the lingering taste of your still on his tongue. He rocked into your with a loving force, his compliments never once stopping between each kiss and moan.
The knot in your lower stomach began to become too much. Aemond knew this from the way you clung to his shoulders, eyes scrunching in absolute pleasure, “That’s it, love. You’ve been such a good girl. Go ahead… come for me…”
His gentle words coaxed you to a blissful release, a daze washing over you. Aemond continued to thrust into you, chasing his own release. Moments later, Aemond reached his high as well, peppering your face with kisses as your slick and his seed dribbled out of your cunt.
Softly, he removed himself, allowing you both the space to breathe deeply. Spent from the evening and aftershocks of your orgasm, Aemond took it upon himself to clean you both up. He moved from the bed, getting you a glass of water and a gentle cloth to clean you up with. His movements were gentle against your sensitive area and he spoke soft praises as the euphoria finally released you.
When he returned to your bed, Aemond moved both of you under the covers. He pulled you into his chest, pressing tender kisses to your forehead. Looking up at him, you offered an affectionate smile, “I guess you were right.”
Aemond chuckled at the words but fell silent again. He took a breath before speaking once more, “I love you, sweet girl, and I am more than happy to be yours.”

Sporteen Masterlist
Welcome to what I call my chronic brainrot and where I start to accept the fact that I might actually like watching sports even tho I spent most of my childhood saying I hate sports lol
This is the first series I’ve done and I’m also a first year uni student so I make no promises on how frequent I can update this but I do wanna try to get them done at least by when my semester ends in like April
Also some of the stories are linked as since some of the guys are on the same team/sport
Choi Seungcheol: Pucking Chemistry
Summary: You never should’ve agreed to tutor the captain of the hockey team. Who shows up a full hour after the agreed meeting time? Choi Seungcheol, apparently as you’ve come to learn. And now you’re stuck tutoring him because for some reason, you're his last hope to pass chemistry so he’s eligible to play in an upcoming tournament.
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself lol, mentions of your father abandoning the family
Extra info: high school setting, Cheol uses the term "princess" a lot and I'm a sucker for calling people by their last name, mentions of Monsta X’s I.M (aka Changkyun) and Kard’s Somin (but she gets mentioned like once lol), your little brother’s name never gets mentioned but you do call him Frosty lol, and my knowledge of hockey is limited to watching Dr. Mike on yt talk about hockey injuries so there’s not a whole lot of hockey action in this fic lmao. On a personal note, this fic made my realize my little brother is turning 13 this year and I can’t handle that because what do you mean he’s a teen now he literally turned one the other day and I think that shows in this fic lol
Release: 2/24 Read Here
Word count: 9.9K
Yoon Jeonghan: Maybe Romeo and Juliet Were Onto Something
Summary: When you agreed to help your dad with coaching his soccer team, you expected to help with writing down prs and handing out water bottles in return for free tickets and an excuse to be out of your dorm. What you didn’t expect to happen was falling for the charming co-captain of his soccer team. So do you take your shot with co-captain or do you heed your dad’s one and only rule of absolutely no dating his players?
Warnings: cursing since that’s gonna be pretty much a staple in my writing lol, arguments with a parent
Extra info: uni setting, so originally Jeonghan was gonna be a basketball player but then I remembered I hate basketball due to getting hit in the face and breaking my glasses on my birthday during practice… Plus I saw a tiktok of svt playing sports and Jeonghan was playing soccer and the gears started turning in my head lol
Release: TBA

Hong (Jisoo) Joshua: It’s a Win-Win! Right?
Summary: Agreeing to fake date your best friend definitely wasn’t on your schedule when you dropped by after Joshua’s swim practice after your student council meeting had ended. But with his oddly passionate fangirls, you suppose this was more for his comfort than anything else. And hey, you could also use this to get your vice president to stop hitting on you as well, so it's a win-win for everyone. Plus it’s not like you’d be met with the realization that you might be in love with your best friend, that’s crazy…
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself lol, and crazy fangirls
Extra info: high school setting, I got a confession… I don’t actually know how to swim lmaoo I just never learned so I apologize for the lack of actual swimming lol and Joshua is definitely inspired by Oikawa from Haikyuu in the sense of his fangirls lol and I guarantee there’s at least 50 fake dating Oikawa fics so here’s my spin on that with Joshua lol. I was also half tempted to make Joshua like one of my friends, who, for some reason decided our senior year to join our school’s swim team that I didn’t even know we had lol while he was on the varsity soccer team but I decided against it for simplicity lmao
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Wen Junhui: Racing Hearts and Skating to Love
Summary: Getting the chance to perform at an end of year celebration? Amazing! Having to perform a paired performance with Wen Junhui? Not amazing! Don’t get it twisted! You don’t hate Junhui, in fact it’s the opposite. You’ve been silently crushing on your fellow skater for months, and now you’re going to have to create and perform a paired program with him. Which of course meant having to spend weeks with him, and getting close to him to actually practice. But you can do this, it’s only for a few weeks, your heart can handle it. Hopefully it can, at least.
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself lol
Extra info: it’s never mentioned but it’s a uni au lol, reader wears contacts and glasses because I do too and I love Wen Junhui so next question lol and literally all my knowledge of ice skating comes from the time I was obsessed with Yuzuru Hanyu like a year or two ago so I apologize for the inaccuracies of the sport lol
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Kwon Soonyoung: Goal- Wait Watch Out!
Summary: Meet cute except it’s not cute and you probably have a concussion from the rogue soccer ball to the head. All you were trying to do was drop off your roommate's lunch since she forgot in the morning and now you’re being carried by a concerned goalie and your roommate treating you like one of her athletes. At least the goalie carrying you is cute?
Warnings: cursing since I can’t help myself, and of course injuries (a concussion) since that’s the plot lol
Extra info: uni setting, my knowledge is very limited on soccer and all that I do know comes from when my librarian would let me stay in the library while the cup was going on last year instead of making me go do errands for the teachers during my student aide period lol and putting Hoshi as goalie is most definitely brought on by Jeonghan’s monthly meeting pics of him as the goalie lol
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Jeon Wonwoo: Scheming Love
Summary: When your coach told your team that you guys would play a skirmish against the boys volleyball team for fun, you felt your heart freeze. Now you weren’t scared of the boys team, you believe your team is fully capable of beating them in a game. No, what scares you is the fact that it means you have to play against Jeon Wonwoo, one of the middle blockers on the team. And your longtime crush. Normally you’re confident as a libero, doing your best to make sure your team’s defense’s on top and making sure the ball doesn’t touch the ground, but with Wonwoo on the court at the same time? Maybe you should start apologizing to your team now. Wait, why did they have a team huddle while you were helping the manager bring the water bottles? And why are they smiling at you like they’ve just made the greatest plan in the history of the world?
Warnings: cursing as usual, and threatening to strangle someone (as a joke lol)
Extra info: high school setting, reader wears glasses because I do too and I love Wonwoo lol. One of two fics that are fueled by my Haikyuu brainrot that’s coming back thanks to the movies and the new content that’s been coming out recently. Wonwoo as a middle blocker is brought on by this twitter artist that’s drawn Tsukishima in some Wonwoo stage outfits and that has caused me great pain I eat it up every time and reader being a libero is because that’s my favorite position lol
Release: TBA

Lee Jihoon: Wait Where Are You Going? Come Back!
Summary: You really didn’t plan to watch your university’s baseball team play today, especially since it was so hot out and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky to provide some shade to hide under. But alas, your best friend insisted on dragging you along, wanting to watch her boyfriend play. Sure that’s fine and dandy, but why drag you along? At least the catcher’s cute, or what you can see of him on account of his mask. Wow, he's really muscular and is he giving Seokmin signs on how to pitch- wait why is your best friend and her boyfriend pushing the two of you after the game is over? And why are they running away? Oh, she’s gonna pay for this once you get through his conversation with the cute catcher.
Warnings: cursing as usual, and betrayal from your best friend and Seokmin lol
Extra info: uni setting, I’m like 85% sure Woozi said he used to play as catcher when he played baseball so that’s why he has this position. I don’t know anything about baseball besides one man named Shohei Ohtani and that getting hit with the ball hurts like hell (and all the injuries Dr. Mike on yt covered lol)
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Lee Seokmin: Breaking News! Falling in Love is Scary!
Summary: Being part of your university’s blog and radio show is great, until you’re being forced out of the studio/office and out in the open to go interview the baseball team after a recent winning streak. Normally this job would get assigned to another team member, but after a recent bout of frat flu ravaging your crew, the interview is left up to you. Whatever, just get the answers to the prewritten questions you have and the sooner you can go back to the studio/office to work on other things. Or that was the plan before the pitcher, Lee Seokmin, took an interest in you and suddenly seemed to pop up everywhere around campus. Or aka, grumpy reporter x sunshine baseball player.
Warnings: cursing as per usual, and you being a hater for no reason lol
Extra info: uni setting, I don’t know much about baseball other than the fact that I would kill to see DK in a baseball uniform
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Kim Mingyu: Red Bandage of Fate
Summary: When you joined the athletic team as a student trainer and got assigned to the university’s soccer team, you wondered if the team’s number 06, Kim Mingyu, the ace of the team and top scorer, was the same Kim Mingyu who basically lived in the training center, constantly in need of treatment for his never ending list of injuries. And please, slow down with the injuries, the center’s almost out of athletic tape and bandages, you’re begging him to please be more careful out on the field.
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself, and very obviously injuries (I’ll come back to be more specific with the injuries lol)
Extra info: uni setting, I’m taking an intro to athletic training class this sem so I know some stuff about treating athletes but again it’s intro class so beware if some things aren’t super accurate lol
Release: TBA

Xu Minghao: Filmed Lovestory
Summary: When you agreed to help film your friend’s practice for an upcoming competition, you didn’t think much of it. You’ve done it thousands of times. Put on your skates, a couple of extra layers so you won’t freeze, use her phone to record her, and follow her out on the ice. It’s simple, really, and a great way to spend Saturdays while also getting some exercise in between your tiring uni life. What you didn’t expect is somehow to agree to film the practices of one of her skating friends. Her very handsome skating friend, you might add. So now your weekends are fully booked for the ice, but watching Minghao skate on the ice, it’s not so bad.
Warnings: cursing as per usual
Extra info: uni setting, as I mentioned with my Jun fic, all of my figure skating knowledge comes from the time I was obsessed with Yuzuru Hanyu like a year or two ago so again I apologize for the inaccuracies of the sport

Boo Seungkwan: Tangerines, Confessions and a Supply Closet
Summary: When you agreed to be the boys volleyball team’s manager, you didn’t think you’d spend your high school career taking care of the team. Yet, here you are, in your senior year and the only reason some of your players are even here (and why some of them are passing their classes, seriously signing up as a manager became a lot more than just handing out water bottles!). The only reason you’ve been able to stick around as long as you have is because of the team’s setter, Boo Seungkwan, who makes your job of wrangling the team a little easier. Now if only you could get the team off your back about confessing to him before the two of you graduate, that really would be great.
Warnings: cursing as per usual, threats to kill an entire volleyball team (all jokes), and getting locked in a supply closet
Extra info: high school setting, this is the second fic that is 100% fueled by my Haikyuu phase that is slowly coming back due to the movies and the new content that’s been coming out recently. And out of all the sports, this is the one I’m most knowledgeable in since I actually watch matches (shout out to Lim Sungjin and Heo Subong). Also I had such a hard time giving Seungkwan a sport since he does so much I decided on volleyball because the thought of him playing makes me want to bark so there’s that
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Chwe (Vernon) Hansol: Quick, He’s Not Watching!
Summary: When your older brother told you to wait for him in the bleachers, promising to give you a ride after your night class, you didn’t think much of it. If you’re lucky, you’d be able to take a nap in the bleachers waiting for him. What you didn’t expect was to somehow catch the attention of one of the midfielders, Vernon. As you come around more and more often, you find the midfielder always making an effort to say hey to you, and even stealing some of the team’s snacks for you. Now you just wonder if he’ll make a move before your brother notices the two of you getting closer with each other.
Warnings: uni setting, cursing as per usual, and older protective brother that means well but doesn’t go about it the right way
Extra info: I deadass looked up what the positions in soccer are because I have no idea what goes on in the sport even though one of my friend’s played our entire high school career
Release: TBA
Word count: TBA
Lee Chan: You’re Not Too Bad
Summary: You didn’t think that showing up to your best friend’s, Seokmin’s, baseball practices would make one of the players hate you, but here you are and apparently Lee Chan hates you. Or so you think at least. The rest of the team loves you, especially since you always bring them plenty of food to feed them throughout practice (it pays to be a nutrition major) and always try to help out even though you’re not an official manager. But it’s no biggie, it’s not like Chan hating you bothers you, nope, not at all. But maybe you’d skip out on stopping by Seokmin’s practice for the week… Yeah that sounds like a good idea.
Warnings: cursing as per usual, Chan being a bit of an asshole but it gets resolved don’t worry
Extra info: uni setting, Dino being assigned baseball is all because of the 231105 fansign where he was given a baseball jersey and glove, and I still don’t know how baseball works
Release: TBA

To the person whom i befriend when i started this blog, that pretended to be a 20 y/o university student and supposed "friend" , deactivated their tumblr on 15/02/2024 , blocked me in discord and tiktok, came back on 20/02/2024 and texted me and made excuses. To the person who made a new account on 21/02/2024 with their supposed real identity this time and followed me on 24/03/2024 wanting to be included into my series's taglist having the same profile picture like the specific 20 y/o on their discord. Coincidence? Absolutely not.
To the person who fooled everyone into thinking they can getaway with it, thinking that abandoning their friends from the old account will make them invisible or unsuspicious with the new one, what a joke. To the person who used the same memes, same layouts and aesthetics, liked the same artists and hating the exact same character like the "supposed 20 y/o uni student". Like the whole theme and style isn't familiar? The used line dividers, font, kaomjis, layout? It's too much to be only coincidence, so my intuition immediately said that something is going on. And the specific iphone screenshot with a star shape on the top left corner that just said it all. To the person who clearly doesn't care to hide anymore and maybe knows that we know who they are, I wish you nothing but to change because what you did was unbelievably disrespectful, but i always had one in mind about you so i wasn't that disappointed, there was something fishy from the start , but for the people who knew you more and they really thought of you and called you a friend — that was the biggest disappointment, the backstabbing and the cherry on top.
I just hope you stop this whole circus, but then again people like you love to put a mask on and play pretend, because that's the only thing you are good at.
#you know who you are#even if you are blocked#i hope to never see you again#and i hope people who know stop interacting with you

Wait! How!? When!? Where!? How is White suddenly there!? How did Tee meet White!? You can’t just play upbeat music and have the boys running around to show the passage of time and not explain how the fucking villain of the story got the most adorably innocent lil princess boyfriend on the planet!
Phee, bringing Jin on a date to the same place you and Non liked to go is just weird. I hate people who use the same ‘date’ spots for their new partners that they used with their past partners and no, this isn’t me projecting, why do you ask!? Lmao 😂 shut up it’s still tacky af
‘Friend’ the dreaded word.
What is with the ass slapping and window sex!? I mean, I get that they’re supposed to 18 year old boys, who are by definition perverted, but that was some porn level shit. Also, again, no prep. Phee wasn’t even the one blown so it’s not like they were even using spit for lube, or an already lubed condom. What is this, another ABO show? Just having the dudes slick and sliding all over one another apparently.
Ta’s got a decent ass at least, good for him.
“Did you cheat on my brother?” Nah, pretty sure they broke up when Phee saw him being raw dogged by the teacher and then told him to go die, but whatever helps you sleep at night Tan.
“Don’t fall in love with him.” Yeah, I think it’s too late for that.
Oh, mom is not looking so great. Hmm, something tells me that video isn’t real. Mom knows what’s up, it’s finally hit her, her baby’s dead. The actress did a fantastic job of a mother realizing the truth of the death of her child, it’s a startling realization that does take your legs out from under you. Your mind blanks, you can’t think about anything but the last time you saw them, the last terrible thing you said, all you can do is try not to scream. - That got a little too dark and real, sorry.
news.boc.com Cute BoC, very cute.
How long were Phee and Jin supposed to have been fucking by now? Weeks? Months? Because Jin has gotten very emotionally invested very quickly, which is appropriate for teenagers I suppose.
Two years, so they’d be in their what, second year of uni? Tan has gone full mad scientist I see.
Wait, he called to tell Tan that his mom was dead and it was her funeral that day and he just showed tf up! When his dad thought he was still in England!? Lmao, that’s fricking hilarious. I know, I know, wrong reaction to this scene but I’m weird, what can I say.
Oops, bye bye daddy. No wonder Tan is so fucking nuts! That would drive anyone insane. He literally needs Non to be alive otherwise he’s lost everything for nothing.
Is Tan his own guinea pig for his drugs!? Jesus dude, get some help.
Question, were Phee and Jin fucking during their time at university too? Or are you telling me all this ‘I love him’ crap was from one night of decent dick and a few ‘best friend dates’? Like the math ain’t mathing, establish a better timeline here for me when it comes to their relationship because in the first episode it made it seem like they were screwing around for a really long time, months at the very least. But now it seems like they fucked around a couple times in one 12 hour period, Jin decided that was enough to wanna date, caught Phee in a mood because of the fake news report and then they just… what? Kept fucking? Stopped? Jin carried a torch for him for over two years after one night together? Acted like a scorned lover for years because of a single teenaged tryst? Not to be that guy, but girl, you’re coming off a little desperate. I need a more accurate timeline!!!
“This won’t kill them.” Tan, could you try and be a tad more convincing when saying that?
That was a fantastic look from Tan to end on, ngl. Although someone needs to save baby White!
Next episode, we’re back in the present for the most part it seems. Jin somehow still trusts Phee, Fluke somehow gets the gun back and oh look, he holds White hostage, poor bb did nothing, leave him alone! And Tee clearly does know what happened to both Non and Keng as he runs up onto the roof where his uncle is to see the pair… unconscious? Dead? One of each?
I want some backstory about how White fits into all of this next time as well, that would be great. Although considering how little the timeline of events during grade 12 are fully explained, I doubt knowing more about White would make very much sense at this point.

When I used to be in uni, my psychology professor talked about identification, love and hate-
And I wonder, what does it mean to always be in the wrong team-
I always like the wrong and evil character, the anti-hero, always, like a plague, I don't care about the protagonist, they tend to be too much, naive, glorified, blind, coward - but not it's bad counterpart, no, this sad bad meow meow person is 10x better and complex, the good and bad, as every person is.
When we like them, it only means that we see and recognize the injustice they suffer, and more than that, we also know and accept their flaws, we accept and recognize their growth and loss of innocence.
I mean, Alicent? Little girl being hated because she is what women in her time are suppose to be? Obedient to her father's wishes, submissive, passive... but no, vilified as the friend who wanted (I'm cackling who would want to marry him, she wouldn't want to marry no dragon in fact, she clearly is terrified of them) to marry an old and sick man, the father of her best friend, forced to birth child after child as was expected of her because of course she wants to strip her once best friend from her title of heir, yes, it is written on her face. This girl wasn't having a day of peace ever - two children when she was seventeen*, four when she wasn't even near her thirties. A girl, sold, raped, judged and denied justice.
But her good counterpart? Oh, how glorious and modern of her to lie, throw tantrums and rage around, hide behind her weak father's judgements and run away from facing her problems and faults.
Don't even get me started on others... Like Hurrem.
A girl, enslaved, probably saw her family and people die before her eyes, sold from one palace to another, denied to practice her religious beliefs, denied her own language, letters, freedom. Condemn to serve.
But you see, look how pretty she became. Let's gift her to the sultan
Who knows the things they threatened her with, she was, before being a concubine, a slave, property of the sultan, not a woman, a thing.
The inferno she had to endure before having a son, before getting her freedom and a legal marriage.
But yes, she is evil, she wants to kill a child, the child of the woman she hates, a child that won't hesitate to kill her sons.
Because it is the fraticide law. Even her own children would kill each other the moment their father died.
Even to this day, Hurrem isn't remembered as a girl - who suffered and raise up to have the best life she could fight for - she is remembered as the evil mother, playing her children to be against their brother, the wolf among sheep.
Both of them, done dirty by the narrative. Two women called monsters, when they are but two humans, two women who suffered and had to reinvent themselves in order to survive and continue. I doubt it was completely for their own selves, but for those who depended on them.
I could go on and on about so many others, but I'll just talk about this two blorbos.
#don't @ me to debate if you disagree#i won't answer#I'm just expressing that in the end I too will always be on the bad side#god where can we rewrite this shitty portrayals#alicent#alicent hightower#hotd alicent#hotd#pro team green#hurrem sultan#muhteşem yüzyıl#magnificent century#hurrem#blorbo from my shows#english is not my first language#so bear it with me

I have a Sebaciel Pen pal au, Sebastian accidentally receives Ciel's pen pal letter, and pretends to be his pen pal.
Sebastian looked at the letter that had arrived in the post. Jeremy Ratheburn. Clearly whoever had written the address had messed up. He really should go and send it back, but he was curious. And bored, definitely more bored than curious. Sebastian looked at it for a moment later before deciding he was going to open it, and walked over to grab his letter opener. Inside was a letter written in the most atrocious handwriting he had ever seen.It looked like it had been written by a blind chicken. Scratch that, the chicken had neater handwriting. No matter, Sebastian was skilled at reading horrible handwriting. The letter read:
“Dear Jeremy,
My name is Ciel. I am six and a half years old. My favorite colour is blue. I love chocolate cake. Do you like cake? I hope we can be friends.
Sincerely,
Ciel"
It had been hard to read with the spelling mistakes. At the bottom was a drawing of what he assumed was a flower. If he liked children he might have found it cute. Unfortunately Sebastian hated children as much as he hated everyone else. It probably leaned more towards indifference and general annoyance than hatred. People were meant to be used, everyone used everyone else. Sebastian was no different, he just considered himself honest about it.
He looked at the letter again. How sad, it would never reach its intended recipient. He supposed he could send it back...or he could respond. He could do something nice and not let a little boy be without a pen pal. How wrong it would be to pretend to be a child. How wrong it would be to trick a small child. Ah, but at the same time it might be fun. Something to curb his boredom. And ultimately once he was bored once more he'd enjoy breaking a child's heart. He'd sleep on it before he committed.
Sebastian stared at the letter as he ate his breakfast. What to do, what to do? Should he manipulate a child by becoming his "friend", or be a halfway decent person and throw the letter in the trash?
He truly was bored if he was actually considering it. Whatever, it wouldn't hurt to go along for a little bit. And if he really got bored he could say he died, and forget about the six year old. Besides, he was fresh out of university and already bored with his job. He really needed a hobby and this sounded like something easy to fill his time with.
He opened his phone to search up the boys young pen pal. Jeremy, won the spelling bee last year, and plays the violin. Sebastian continued his search. On a public Facebook page was a Emily Rathburn. On her page was a picture of young Jeremy with a frown on his face and a party hat on his head. A cake with the number seven on it sat in front of him. So he was a year older than young Ciel. More mature, smarter, bigger, and wiser. A mentor of sorts. Sebastian could do that, and could pretend to be a mentor.
He truly was bored if he was actually considering it. Whatever, it wouldn't hurt to go along for a little bit. And if he really got bored he could say he died, and forget about the six year old. He was fresh out of uni and already bored with his job. This would be nothing more than something to pass the time until he found something more entertaining.
#sebaciel#this is writing practice#I'm just trying to start writing again as it's been months#do not analyze#also do not continue it#seriously#i hope i dont regret this

Love Blinds
Pairing(s): Blind!Jungkook x reader
Genre: Angst
Word Count: 4.7k
Warning(s): Accident(s)
Summary: You are his oldest and only best friend, but why do you leave him all of a sudden when he needs you most?
A/n This fic was requested by the sweetest person on the planet, @thehopelessromanticclub. I know this took me quite some time, because I'm also juggling with work and uni. Nevertheless, I had so much fun writing this. While this was one of the hardest fics to write, I enjoyed every process it took. Fun fact, this fic is literally the first fic that made me cry when I wrote it. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I've never met a blind or visually impaired person in my life. Everything I've written about blindness and living as a blind person, I learned about them from the internet. I know that there's only so much one can learn from the internet. If there are any inaccuracies about them in this fic, please let me know.

There was one thing on top of Jungkook’s wishlist: to be able to see his best friend, you.
It happened when he was too young to understand the world around him. He was around four or five years old. One morning he woke up still able to see cars passing by, people walking by, he could even name all the colors he saw. The next morning, he woke up to darkness, nothingness, and his mom’s cries.
He met you not long after. He was playing in the park while also learning how to use a walking cane. After half an hour of successfully not walking into anything, he accidentally tripped on his cane and fell.
He wasn’t a crier. So as the pain on his knees spread – he was sure it was at least bruising – he still kept quiet. It went like that for a bit since he didn’t have enough power to stand up again, the pain on his knees was too painful.
The next thing he felt was the soft touch on his free hand, the hand that wasn’t holding his cane. And then, he heard a girl’s voice, “Here, take my hand. I’ll help you up.”
With that, he took the girl’s hand – your hand – and introduced himself as Jungkook.
+++
Jungkook fidgeted on his seat at the bleachers as he waited for you. Hands were already clammy to the point he wanted to wash his hands. You were supposed to come a whole 30 minutes ago and he was supposed to be listening to his coach’s briefing by now. He tried to call and text you, but you didn’t reply to any of them. In your defense, you weren’t big on calling and texting, you preferred scrolling mindlessly on social media and sending him memes.
“Kook, coach Lee is waiting for you by the pool, don’t you wanna go?” His mom woke him up from his deep thoughts.
Jungkook sighed. “I’m worried about Y/n.”
The seat beside him creaked, a sign that his mom took a seat beside him. “Stop thinking of her. Obviously she doesn’t think you’re that important.”
“She was never late, mom. This is just a one time thing,” he defended you. He never understood why his mom disliked you. For all he knew, she had hated you since the first time you met him back at the park. All this time, his mom probably only tolerated you because she knew how much you meant to him.
“The show must go on. Worry about her later.” With that, his mom stood up and left him again with his thoughts.
It took him around five long minutes to realize that his mom was right. The show really must go on. Whether you came or not, he still had a competition to win.
Just as he stood up from his seat, he heard someone run to him.
“Am I late?” you asked in the midst of panting, seemingly you've been running.
Upon hearing your voice, Jungkook smiled. “Well, I’ll be on in a bit. So, kinda?”
“I know you’re gonna do great, as always.”
“And I know you’re gonna ask me for a free meal if I win.”
“‘When’ you win, you mean,” you corrected him.
He laughed heartily. He didn’t know why but you always managed to lighten his mood. “I think it’s time to talk to coach Lee. He’s been waiting for me.”
“It’s your own fault for waiting for me.” You lightly pushed his shoulder.
“It’s your fault for being late.”
“You know why I’m late.”
“You snoozed your alarm again?”
“Yep.” You pushed him again, this time a bit harder. “Now go. The competition’s about to begin.”
“Go sit beside my mom, yeah?”
You huffed. “Your mom doesn’t like me. I’ll sit here. I’ll find you once it’s over.”
“I tell you multiple times to ignore her. I want you there.”
The swimming competition went just like how his other competitions went. He listened to coach Lee, shook the hands of other participants, swam like he was born for it, and won the competition. It was easy. It became a routine.
“But your mom doesn’t. I’ll be okay, seriously. Just go, your mom’s already glaring at me.”
The crowd surrounding him and congratulating him, him thanking them, and him waiting for your turn to congratulate him also became a routine. A boring routine that he would rather skip. He’d rather celebrate with the people he loved, his mom and you.
After the crowd around him left, you finally came up to him and gave him a big hug despite his body was still half wet. It was the 'you' Jungkook always knew, supporting him no matter what.
“Congratulations,” you whispered to his ear. “Again.”
“You sound like you’re tired of congratulating me,” Jungkook joked once you let go of him.
“I'm not tired when it comes to getting free food.”
Jungkook chuckled. “You’re lucky the prize money I'll get will be a bit more than usual. I can take you to that new cafe you’ve always wanted to try.”
“Really?”
He nodded. In his mind, he could only imagine how beautiful your smile would be and how the glimmer of happiness in your eyes shined through. And just like that, the wish to be able to see you grew stronger.
Knowing how his mom was towards you, Jungkook took the initiative to celebrate his win in two different settings: once with his mom and once with you. He’d always done that despite deep down wanting to celebrate it with both his mom and you.
+++
“What’s your plan?” you asked after you picked up your ice cream that he paid.
“For? Don’t be cryptic, please,” Jungkook replied in a bored tone.
“For swimming, of course. I bet you’re gonna get another offer.”
“Already did. Coach Lee wanted me to join this year’s national competition. He thinks it’d be good for pushing my career forward.”
“I assume you accept it?”
“It’s not like I have any other competition at the moment.”
“Yeah, you’re right, I guess. When will it be, though?”
“Still a few months away.” He laughed when he noticed the strain in your voice. He assumed it was because you were nervous for him. “If you’re worried I don’t get enough rest, relax. Coach Lee purposely makes me rest for around a month.”
“For a person who’s never been to a national competition before, you sure seem so chill.”
“If I stress it out, I’ll be unreasonably overthinking.”
“Good wisdom.”
“I know. I’m always wise.”
“Says the one who got scratched by a cat because they kept annoying it.”
It was true, though, he indeed was scratched by a cat once. That was one experience that he didn’t want to repeat ever.
Jungkook protested, “That’s just one time.”
“But that one time makes you not always wise,” you teased him.
“I’ll never win an argument against you, will I?”
+++
Time flew after that. Jungkook really did take a break for a month. If by break it meant he was swimming every other day instead of everyday. And once the month was up, he was training intensely until it was exactly a month before his competition.
Knowing well that you were waiting for him on the bleachers, Jungkook left you to change his clothes into his swimsuit. To say that he was excited for today’s training was an understatement. His last training ended with him beating his previous record. And the day before that, he received an email from the mayor that he was proud of Jungkook for representing his city for the next national competition. He basically was on a roll for the last few days.
So it nearly broke his heart, he could almost physically hear it, when he came to the bleachers and his mom told him that you left.
“Why did she leave?” Jungkook asked with his eyebrows furrowed. That was not very Y/n of you to leave without noticing him.
“Who knows,” his mom answered while gently nudging him to walk towards the pool, “She has always been rude.”
“No, she’s not,” he protested. “Something really did happen, mom. Did she said something to you?”
“Nope,” his mom replied quickly. “Well, you can always call her later. You have more important things to do now.”
That was what he did. He practiced, practiced, and practiced. Lap upon laps he did, trying to shake the thought of you, yet he failed. A tiny voice at the back of his head kept telling him to check up on you ASAP.
Once practice ended, even before coach Lee could give him a feedback, he went straight to the changing room, changed into his clothes, and dragged his mom away.
“Where are you going?” his mom inquired behind him. “Coach Lee hasn’t done talking.”
“I want to meet Y/n.”
“She’s probably fine, Jungkook. You’re gonna look stupid in front of her for doing this.”
“You always tell me to trust my gut feeling. My gut feeling is saying that I need to go to her now.”
“Do you even know where she is?”
Jungkook was stunned for a second. He didn’t know where you were.
“I’m gonna call her. Let’s go to the car first.” With that, he pulled his mom again in the direction of the parking lot.
Inside the car, he indeed called you, but no matter how many times he tried, they all went through.
“No wonder,” his mom commented, “That girl seemed like she doesn’t care about you.”
“If she didn't care about me, she wouldn’t have come.”
“Probably she’s in her moody phase. Give her some time.”
Having enough of his mom’s rude comments, Jungkook snapped, “Mom, please. I don’t have time for this. Just take me to Y/n’s house.”
“I thought she’s with you,” your dad answered after opening the door to a very worried Jungkook. “This morning she said she was gonna accompany you to practice.”
“She did, but then left without telling me.”
“We’re gonna try to contact her, don’t worry,” your mom’s voice spoke up. “Just go take a rest, you seem so tired.”
Upon hearing your mom’s words, he realized that his shoulders had been hurting and his legs were cramping. Jungkook sighed. “But please tell me when you find her.”
“Of course.”
But no one contacted him for the next few days. Not you, and definitely not your parents. As days went on, he became more and more anxious. His phone calls and texts still hadn’t gone through. It was as if you disappeared off the surface of Earth.
He couldn’t even imagine what had happened to you to make you suddenly disappear that day. Not only that, the fact that his mom became more insufferable the more he talked about you made his blood boil every time he thought about it.
There was one time when Jungkook, who never raised his voice at anyone, raised his voice at his mom.
“Right now, your practice is more important than Y/n,” his mom had said.
At first, Jungkook had tried to ignore her in hopes that she wouldn’t say anything else. But he was dead wrong.
“Jungkook, are you listening to me? I said, focus on your practice, stop thinking of Y/n.”
And just like that, Jungkook had snapped, “You’re not helping at all, mom.”
Little did he know that him snapping at his mom only made his feelings even worse.
There was also a time when Jungkook deliberately ran away from practice after hearing his mom’s words about you, leaving both his mom and coach Lee worried. Sure he came back later that day, but he had hoped it was enough of a sign that he didn’t like what his mom had said.
“She’s been gone for days. I doubt she’ll come back. She probably already forgets you by now,” was what his mom had said to trigger such a reaction from him.
And it was only the day before when Jungkook had yet again rebelled, this time to the point he was gone all day.
That day, Jungkook’s mom had said something along the lines of, “You should be glad that Y/n’s out of the picture, you can focus more on winning the competition.”
But to be quite honest, it didn’t make him focus on his practice anymore.
His time was slower and slower to the point coach Lee – who was never mad at anyone – stopped that day’s practice abruptly.
“Whatever problem you have right now, I hope you deal with it soon. I don’t want your head out of the game like this, especially not when the competition comes.” With that, coach Lee had ushered him home.
Later that day at home, his mom had also lectured him about ‘being a good son’ and ‘making your parents proud’. But he cared none of that. He still had a missing best friend to find.
His mom had sighed when she realized that Jungkook hadn’t been listening to her. “I don’t know what else I need to do. Paying for your practices takes almost all of my savings, yet you're getting worse and worse.” Then she whined, “Tell me what more I need to do.”
Only two words had come out of his mouth. “Find Y/n.”
+++
For a few days after that, Jungkook still kept at it with his acts. He only came to practice when he felt like it. Once he was no longer in the mood, he just left. Not at home, but somewhere where he didn’t have to meet his mom – the playground where you and he met the first time. He wasn’t gonna lie to himself about the fact that he frequently went to the playground in hope to find you there. But just like how bare his phone is from your messages, the playground was bare of your presence.
Sitting at the playground made him remember that one time when you and Jungkook planned to go visit your grandpa that lived just outside the city.
One day after sitting at the playground for sometime, he walked back home with an ache both at his chest and head. While the competition was getting closer and closer, he was still no closer to finding you. He almost ran out of time, and unfortunately, also his patience.
As he felt his cane touched the familiar gravel in front of his house, he sighed. It was time to face his mom again. But right before he opened the front door, he heard a talking voice from inside. He recognized the voice as his mom's. He pondered for a moment whether he should walk in and interrupt his mom. Then he decided against it when he heard his name in his mom's conversation. It sounded like his mom was on a phone call since he couldn't hear the other person's reply.
"–lengths I did for Jungkook." Pause. "I just want the best for him since it's gonna be his first national competition." Pause. "I got rid of his best friend." Pause. Jungkook felt like his heart stopped beating for a moment. "Yes, the girl who made him blind."
If his heart stopped beating before, now it was beating so fast. Adrenaline was pumped throughout his body, making his head almost hurt.
There was no way what his mom had said was true. None of it. Not the fact that his mom got rid of you and definitely not the fact that you made him blind. No way. His mom was just bluffing.
But as much as he liked to believe that, his mom still carried on with the conversation. "I don't know what else to do." Pause. "I've tried everything I could, but now he just skips practice whenever he wants." Long pause. “Guess I’ll try that. Thanks.” Pause. “Bye.”
With a huff, Jungkook opened the door. As he closed the door behind him, he heard his mom gasping.
“You’re already home?” she asked.
He shrugged. “I am, for a while.”
“Did you hear everything?”
“Not everything. But enough to know what you did.” Jungkook deemed it was the right time to let out his anger bit by bit.
“So now you know the truth. Why I don’t like Y/n and why I got rid of her.” It sounded like there was no remorse at all.

It was his fourth birthday. Just like how kids who had birthdays before him celebrated their birthday with the whole class, Jungkook also celebrated his birthday with his classmates.
“Jungkook!” A little girl called him while running up to him.
He smiled upon seeing the big present on the girl’s hand. It was big enough to fill the girl’s hands full.
Once she was close enough, she handed the gift to him. “This is for you. Happy birthday.”
Jungkook accepted it. “Thank you, Y/n.”
Like any other class full of kindergarten kids, the class was chaotic. The teacher was busy trying to sit everyone down and left the birthday boy with his best friend on their own. That was a big mistake.
Little you had seen a lot of funny videos depicting pranks people do on their friends and wanted to try one on Jungkook. So just as Jungkook wanted to take a seat beside you, you pulled his seat, making him fall butt first to the hard floor.
Then everything flew by. He only remembered faintly. He remembered his loss of vision. He remembered hearing cries. He heard a lot of cries. From himself, Y/n, his parents, Y/n’s parents, even the teachers. Then the strong smell of disinfectant indicated to him that he was in a hospital.
There were also doctor’s checkups. A lot of doctor’s checkups. He remembered those checkups almost made him stay up all night. It was hard to forget how scared he was of the doctors handling him.
The only memory that engraved into his mind was when the doctor told his parents that he was permanently blind because of the accident. Then he heard more of his parents’ cries.

Jungkook shook his head in disbelief. “You’re wrong, mom.”
“You’re still defending her?” His mom raised his voice. “Look what happened to you after she came into your life.”
“I’m defending her because the good things she’s done outdid the bad things.”
His mom grunted.
“Yes, she might be the one who made me blind, but she is – was – also the one who pushed me to become a national athlete.” Jungkook regained his breath before continuing his speech. “At the start, I didn’t really like swimming. But when Y/n said that it was cool to be able to swim fast, I was motivated.” Pause. “And don’t even talk about how many times she supported me, accompanied me. She never skips coming to my competitions and practices.”
All he said was true. As much as he wanted to hate you, he couldn’t. A part of him – a big part – still needed you and missed you.
With one last statement, Jungkook ended his conversation with his mom. “You not being able to forgive Y/n is the reason why my career almost ruined. If you really want me to succeed, help me find Y/n.”
It didn’t even take his mom more than three days to find you.
Jungkook was listening to a podcast when he received a notification from his mom. Words couldn’t explain how shocked he was when he realized it was the address he knew well – your grandpa’s house. With you on his mind, he left his house and went to where you were.
Because your grandpa only lived outside the city, it didn’t take long for Jungkook to arrive there. The familiar smell of lavender still lingered just like how he remembered it. He smiled internally knowing that your grandpa still took care of his lavender plants after all this time.
Right before he got the time to step further near your grandpa’s house, he heard a voice calling him. He instantly recognized it as yours.
“What are you doing here?” you asked, your voice getting louder by the second indicating that you were walking towards him.
Couldn’t hide his smile because of meeting you again, he grinned. “What are you doing here?”
“I asked the question first.”
Jungkook sighed. Still the same stubborn Y/n that he knew. “I’m looking for you. Now answer my question.”
“Helping my grandpa around. It’s been some time since I went here.”
“But you never stayed here this long.”
“Is that a problem?”
Jungkook’s face fell. It looked like you didn’t want to talk about the elephant in the room. “I think I know the reason why you’re here.”
“Of course, I already told you the answer.”
“No, I mean–” he hesitated, not sure how to break it to you, “–I know the truth. And I’m sure you know about it, too.”
You grunted. “Jungkook, I don’t understand. What are you talking about?”
He decided to just drop the bomb at once. “The accident when we were young, my blindness, my mom hating you and making you leave me.”
He heard you chuckle at his response. “If you really think the reason I’m here is because of your mom, you’re dead wrong.”
Good. He made you angry.
“I’m not gonna beat around the bush, if you have nothing important to do here, I suggest you leave.”
“Can we talk about this first?”
“What is there to talk about?”
“Everything!”
“I don’t have the time. Just go home.” Jungkook heard your footsteps, you were walking away.
“Please, Y/n,” Jungkook called.
“What is there to talk about?” you repeated the question after stopping in your tracks.
Almost giving up, he answered, “Us.”
“We should never be friends, Jungkook. Your mom was right to separate us.”
“Why?”
“Look at you!” you half-yelled. “Look at what I did to you! Oh, gosh, I can’t even look at you without hating myself.”
“Y/n-” Jungkook took a step.
“No. Listen to me first. I’m really grateful to know you. But your mom was right. I did too much damage to you. We can never be friends.”
“Y/n, I don’t understand what you mean by that. It was an accident, yes, you knew no better. But don’t think it was a tragedy. It wasn’t and it’ll never be,” Jungkook tried to reason with you.
“How can you call it ‘not a tragedy’ while you’re standing there unable to see permanently?”
“I lived with this for so long I almost forget what it feels like to be able to see. Being blind is a part of me now and I already accept it. But why can’t you and mom accept me?”
The next thing he knew, you ran to him and hugged him so tight he was scared that would break a bone. But another part of him, his heart specifically, drumming against his chest he was sure you could hear it.
“I’m so, so, so sorry. You don’t even know how much I’m sorry,” your cries muffled by his shirt. “I’m sorry if I couldn’t accept you. Never even think once that I have bad intentions towards you. I would never do those things to you intentionally.”
Jungkook patted your hair softly. He was lying if your cries didn't hurt him. “I know, I’ve forgiven you a long time ago.”
“I tried to make amends with you. I befriended you, supported you, accompanied you. I basically did everything I could do. But when I realized that you were nicer than what I had thought, I only felt worse.”
“I understand.” This time Jungkook brushed his hair through your fingers. Your hair smelled like strawberries, the exact smell he liked. The smell he had missed.
“And when your mom told me that you would do better without me, I believed her.”
“That’s where she’s wrong. I did worse, you can ask her. I couldn’t do it without you.”
You pulled back slightly, but not breaking the hug. “But you’re so good at swimming.”
Jungkook smiled. “Only when you’re watching. So, can you, please, accompany me again?”
“What about your mom? She would be angry.”
“I already explained everything to her. In fact, she was the one giving away your location.”
“That’s because you forced her,” you whined.
“To be honest, I don’t really care if she still can’t accept you. At least she won’t bother you, hopefully.”
You sighed happily. “Okay. I trust you.”
As he laid on his bed that night,
*Add a scene where Jungkook lays at night, thinking about how grateful he is for making amends with you. He also realizes that maybe he has a crush on you.*

True to your words, you went with him during his practices. Although his mom never talked to you or even approached you, Jungkook felt like things were going better. At least she wasn’t talking bad about you anymore.
On the D-day, you came early – even before Jungkook himself – much to his surprise.
“You’re already here,” Jungkook said in surprise when he heard you call him. His mom was talking to coach Lee, giving him the perfect opportunity to talk to his best friend.
“For around 15 minutes, yeah,” you confirm. “Are you nervous?”
“Don’t even ask that kind of question.”
“Okay, sorry.” You laughed. Oh, how he missed that sound. “Hey, I don’t know if you’re allowed to eat a lollipop before a competition, but I’d like to give you this.”
He felt you pushing what felt like a lollipop into his hand.
“Aside from eating heavy meals, I can eat anything. So, thanks.” He opened the lollipop and put it into his mouth.
“I thought it would make you feel less nervous.”
“You know I can handle nervousness well.”
“You’ve never been to a national competition before, though.”
“Fair enough.” A sudden thought flash in his mind. “Y/n, I have something to tell you, but I think it’s better to tell you after the competition.”
Though it was a nation-wide competition, everything went quite similar like Jungkook’s previous competitions. Minutes before the competition began, he received a briefing from coach Lee, shook hands with the other competitors, and then the competition finally began.
Everything slowed down once he was in the water, it was only him, his mind, and the flow of water around him. Much to his surprise, everything went smoother and calmer than he had anticipated. He never knew that national competitions weren’t much different from his other competitions. In short, he was in his element again. He felt free.
Sooner than what he had liked, the competition ended and he was allowed to go home empty-handed. Empty-handed because he lost. He came in fourth place. Not as good as what his mom wanted, but for a newbie like him, it was just the beginning. He wasn’t sure what was the reason, but he really wasn’t feeling sad or anything.
Once he walked out the changing rooms, he felt someone hugging him. From the smell, he could tell it was you.
“I’m super proud of you. Fourth place in your first national competition? You’re gonna be a legend,” you rambled in his ear while still hugging him.
Jungkook hugged you back. “Thanks.”
You finally let him go. “I overheard coach Lee tell your mom that there’ll be another national competition. The organizer isn’t as big as this one, but he thinks it’ll be good for you.”
“Wow. Isn’t that, like, too soon?”
“Don’t know when it’ll be, though. You can just ask coach Lee.”
“I will. Thanks, Y/n.”
“So, do you have something to tell me?”
Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows. “Huh?”
“Before the competition, you told me you have something to tell me.”
“Oh, right.” To be honest, he kinda wanted to regret it as soon as he had said it back then. Damn you to always remind him.
“What is it?”
“It’s nothing serious.”
“It sounded serious.”
Jungkook groaned. “Do you really need to know?”
“Of course. I’m your best friend. I’m ready to listen to whatever you say.”
“Then I hope you’re ready to change that status, too,” he blurted. Jungkook wanted to hit himself as soon as he realized what he had said.
Y/n coughed, probably in surprise. “What? What status?”
Jungkook took a deep breath. “I have liked you since I could remember. Don’t you think it’s time to change our status from best friends to something more?”
There was a delay in your answer. Jungkook bit his bottom lip, scared you wouldn’t like what he had said.
“Right now?”
“Well, yeah, if you’d like.”
“Of course I’d like to.” Then Jungkook felt your weight on him; you hugged him again, this time stronger than before.
And without words, Jungkook felt your soft lips on his. It tasted better than what he had imagined. He smiled to the kiss.
There were two things on top of Jungkook’s wishlist: to be able to see you and to be your boyfriend. At least he was able to check the latter.
