I don’t know if this is bold but..

So many Manga, Shows, and Books have a better magic system than Harry Potter…

Like for example: Witch Hat Atelier, it’s a literal tool that any person can learn, the runes can work together and each rune can do a different thing depending on size, shape and how it’s cast. It’s super fascinating!

When it comes to Magic words I often find little joy in them due to how sometimes confusing and hard they are to pronounce but I also like when they are in other languages. Magi for example it uses different words that compose of the spell and don’t try to make a whole new language.

I can also find joy in that tho but it has to be in a way that feels constructive taking the part of levitate and making it be levi and then adding osa is very.. bland idk it doesn’t create that leap of joy in my brain.

Overall I find drawing magic/Rune Magic is so much more fun then spoken magic just bc there is so many ways to go about drawing/Animating/designing it. Ex: Castlevania Nocturne, Owl House, Witch Hat Atelier (again).

I wrote a snippet for my story instead of homework!

But I'm going to do a read more line cause Ambrosius is trans, and his mom, who I named after J.K. Rowling, dead names him and is super racist. Todd also pops up and is still super punchable, but he's actually kind of good in this bit because Joanne is so much worse.

Ambrosius sat in the hallway of the hospital, his skin felt hot. His vision got blurry as he tried to blink away the tears. Ballister has to go do something at work, so he couldn’t be at the checkup. Nimona, well, the hospital was not the nicest to her. So, he called his dad, and his mom found out.

His mom, Joanne Goldenloin found out her trans son was pregnant at the appointment.

“So, when will Naomi be due?” Joanne asked, her step peppy. Her husband, Henry, just looked at Ambrosius with sad eyes. “I know she’s going through a long phase, but honestly, all kids do.”

“He, Joanne, is sitting right there. Maybe ask Ambrosius when his due date will be. And for Gloreth’s sake, will you show him some respect?” Henry asked.

“Dad,” Ambrosius muttered, “it’s fine. I’m just ready for the results and going home.”

“Oh, but Naomi,” Ambrosius flinched at the loud high pitched perky noise his mother made whenever she purposely dead named him in public, like she was correcting his bad behavior. “Wouldn’t it be better if you and your child were raised in a proper household? And away from that commoner?”

“Mom,” Ambrosius glared. “That ‘commoner’ is the father of my baby. And the father’s name is Ballister. I love him, and he respects me. He gets things that are difficult, you are making things worse right now, more than anything else.”

“Well,” Joanne beamed. “We will just have to raise the commoner out of the baby, won’t we?”

“Oh my, just, just stop talking,” Ambrosius hissed as he turned and stormed away. He ignores his mom’s “But Naomi,” screams until he runs face first into someone. Looking up did little to ease his anger.

“Ambrosius, or should I say,” Todd smirked.

“Don’t you fucking dare, Thoddius,” Ambrosius hissed, breathing in shakily as his eyes water more. “I can only deal with so many bigoted assholes in a day.”

“I honestly heard your mom from down the hall while the doctor was checking out my cast,” Todd responded. His posture eased up a bit seeing the red rage radiating from a slightly pudgy Ambrosius. “And seeing you this angry, once, was enough in school, so this is my ticket to get you out of here so I don’t become a punching bag because of someone else. Besides, your mom likes to hear me talk.”

“I’ve noticed,” Ambrosius mutters, wiping his eyes. “Also, why do you still have the cast?”

“Uh, cause you fucked it up good, dude. Anyway, go before you lose your moment to escape,” Todd waved. “Joanne, hey, how’s the lady of the hour?”

Ambrosius gathered his breath, feeling a hand rubbing on his back, looking to the left slightly, he saw his dad. “I’m sorry, I tried to leave her home, but she insisted. Let's get you some fresh air, son.”

How J.K. Rowling felt after basing Snape on her chemistry teacher (who she quite incorrectly thought hated her) thinking he would never see it (he was good friends with her mother, loved the series, and wrote magical beast fanfiction because he — and I have many sources for this — was a mega-nerd, autistic, multi-talented, innately wizard-ish Welshman).

I looked into this guy because I was wondering what he could have possibly done to get Snape, of all characters, based on him. The only thing I could find was that apparently J.K. Rowling took his autistic socializing as “he doesn’t like me” and that this guy was actually a really nice person. Like, unusually so. I went to read up on it again for the sake of this post and had a bunch of “Oh, that’s right; he totally did have a restroom with disabled access installed in the science department for J.K. Rowling’s T.A. mother who was ill” moments, some “Oh, that’s right; he totally was a pillar of his community who went around doing welfare checks on people with violent exes even when he was on his deathbed” moments, some, “Oh yeah, he totally was a feminist who lobbied for women’s rights on a regular basis (my uncle who likes Harry Potter joked that this is why J.K. Rowling didn’t like him)” moments, and some “Oh, yeah; he totally did used to compare his chemistry class to potion making and wizards when kids got bored and sing about it in Welsh with wizard robes on randomly throughout and at the end of the year like a freaking nerd years before Harry Potter was even conceived” moments.

TL;DR: This has been a J.K. Rowling are you fucking kidding me post and also Snape is a feminist by proxy; I don’t make the rules.

How Many More Times Can We Say It? Your Harry Potter Addiction Is Funding Transphobia

An anti-trans group called For Women Scotland is crowdfunding their legal challenge over the Scottish government’s definition of the word ‘woman’ in the 2018 Gender Representation on Public Boards Act. To quote Pink News, ‘The legislation aims to ensure public boards have a 50% women gender balance in non-executive member positions, and it includes a definition of the word “woman” that is inclusive of trans women who have a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC). FWS argued including trans women in this definition would impact women’s rights and expressed concerns about wider implications for single-sex spaces.’ The group lost their appeal at the Court of Session in November but were granted permission this month to appeal the decision to the UK Supreme Court. They just received £70,000 from one user under the name ‘JK.’ It’s J.K. Rowling. The accompanying post said, ‘You know how proud I am to know you. Thank you for all your hard work and perseverance. This is truly a historic case.’ I’m not sure I can shout it from the rooftops anymore. Harry Potter fans: this is where your money is going. This is where the cash you handed over is being put to use. Do you even care?

God I think I actually prefer explicit fascist transmisogyny in comparison to the disguised dogwhistly liberal transmisogyny.

Like the people who openly call me an autogynephile and other various slurs and tell me to kill myself are at least being honest. They don't bullshit me about hating my very existence and wanting me to die.

It's all the faux-loving forms of transmisogyny that really make me angry. Like it makes my skin crawl in its dishonesty and hypocrisy. And it takes so many forms. Like the transmisogynist christian "hate the sin, not the sinner" approach where they claim to love me and just want me to accept Jesus in my heart. The necessary condition for accepting their version of Jesus however is me detransitioning, and that would kill me.

There is the terfy "people with gender dysphoria are suffering and they need help but we can't endanger women's sex-based rights for them." i've even seen in arguments about legal gender changes the following: "of course trans women deserve to use women's spaces, but if we allow legal gender self-id evil cis men will take advantage of that. So trans women will have to have their rights restricted." Even J.K. Rowling used it in her terf manifesto.

It makes one yearn for the days of the ur-terf book "The Transsexual Empire" which had the "shemale" slur in its subtitle and in which the author Janice Raymond argued trans women rape real women by the fact of their very existence. That kind of brazen transmisogyny at least had some kind of honesty about it.

There is also the transmisogynist callout culture fandom, or as the japanese fittingly call them: the american feelings yakuza. They callout transfems for problematic kinks like at least once a week but deny transmisogyny. "oh we don't believe all transfems are evil predatory sex perverts, it's just that this particular transfem is."

Their evidence for her being sexual predatory is that she ships two fictional siblings. Or in meatspace meetings, things like her having "bad vibes" ("bad vibes" or "gut instinct" are polite words for what more sensible people call "ingrained bias") .

And they suspiciously keep on making callouts for transfem after transfem in a neverending series, trying to ruin her reputation and socially exile her, but of course they are not transmsiogynists.

There is also the sofboi transandrobro type of transmisogyny. They spread the vilest transmisogyny but always falls back on a terfy bioessentialism to claim ontological innocence and perpetual victimhood in all situations. I've literally seen someone say "how can i be a misogynist, i'm literally afab." These people will not say directly "shut up about your oppression, stupid tranny", but say it in coded form. I had one guy traumadump to me about his rape in vivid detail to make the point that (trans)men suffer more and imply that transfems don't suffer from sexual violence.

And that's the crux of the issue. Open hate barely fazes me anymore, unless there is an immediate threat of physical violence. But being condescended to, being emotionally manipulated, being faced with people veiling their hatred of transfems behind a veil of superficially loving rhetoric, that does make me angry. And these people always use my anger against me. "Why are you so angry when these people are being so polite and nice to you?" And that's because the point of these rhetorical approaches is to have plausible deniability for your bigotry and make transfems look crazy when they point it out.

Yet it's the same bigotry as the explicit version, it's just more dishonest about it. Like if had the They Live glasses and looked at the rhetoric, it would just read "exterminate all transfems." All those polite liberals believe the same thing about transfems as the neo-nazis openly calling for us to be hanged, they just lack the virtue of being honest about it.
