So in short: bioware really gave us a shit product (the writing team SPECIFICALLY) with dragon age veilguard and gaslit us that it was come to form game. I genuinely hate what we got and I hate it even more knowing what could've been. I can't believe how a company had such guts to absolutely destroy their game this hard with little to no regard of fans. Like these same people gotta make ME4 IM GONNA KILL MYSELF

But to be so honest I'm kind of happy they fumbled because of this. They lied about everything. Game being dark,the illusion of "choice" in the game,romances,having the most dialog in the game even tho we can't even go up to companions and talk to them...and thank God they weren't awarded for this shit. I hope they sink because of their hubris and arrogance.

All they wanted was to get rid of this game so they can move on to ME4 so they did little what they could do. Push their political agenda (sorry gotta pull a Bharv now🤭) and reuse what seemed more like a ME version of DA. It never felt like a DA game. ME is an amazing game but very different to DA. They took completely different approach in every way possible when handing the Veilguard and its BAD it's just hot pile of crap.

(the potential this game had after seeing the art book is crazy) I'm so disappointed,angry and sad. After 10 years...yes they had ups and downs but c'mon...THEY HAD THE ARTWORK RIGHT THERE!!! how could it be possible that they removed ALL THE ACTUAL INTERSTING THINGS?! They're incompetent but hey at least we got "educated" and "preaced to" on what really matters in the world (and the world of Thedas) ! Thanks Bioware. What a shit show.

and then he finds you again. and there's nothing of you left in here — but there is. he finds you somewhere among these broken pieces and tells you that he loves every single one of them; and you were never broken to begin with.

and you travel through time and space and every, every time he's the one that saves you. he's the one that tells you that you don't need to break yourself and rearrange there parts into something more to be loved. he loves you enough to never leave you again. you give him that thing that kills you; and he's so little, and his eyes are green like the grass you bring him to. you save him. you give him the thing that will kill you many years later. he'll carry that thing with him all his life. part of you. every time.

he doesn't let go when you die. he holds you. you die and you save the world from yourself, but he saves you. he was always there. he always will be. you save him and give him his dream. he will live all his life not knowing he will meet you and he will die for you. you save him again when you meet for the first time. he saves you the same way later. and in all the worlds, all the timelines, all the possibilities — it is him who shows you that you don't have to do perfect. you are enough, even broken.

I didn't see this ending, man wtf have they done. So Loghain, one of the best villains and morally grey characters of this entire series, that has real human flaws and understandable motivations and actions, despite being the main bad guy of Dragon Age Origins.

Has just been reduced to a brainwashed puppet for the never even mentioned before "real villains", that have apparently been pulling all the strings in the background this entire time.

Rip to Loghain Mac Tir, who is imo the most morally grey character of DA series.

Bioware really said "Actually Executors have been controlling everything this whole time and Loghain was manipulated/brainwashed during Ostagar" Fuck you. I can't believe how much they retconned everything.

"There is nothing I would not do for my homeland."

Ferelden and Anora come first before everything else.

Loghain cared for Cailan, he was the son of his best friend and the woman he loved, he is his son-in-law. That didn't stop him from betraying his King because he viewed him as a romantic and naive fool who glorifies war like a fairy tale. There's nothing glorious about war, you are left with trauma even if you win. This is his hatred for Orlais. Which ties to the fact, that Anora (his daughter) was going to be discarded for Empress of Orlais (not to mention that Cailan was already disrespecting Anora as he was having affairs with other women). As for him locking Anora up later, he did it because no blame would be layed on her. These are HIS sins, he will pay for them alone.

So he didn't betray Cailan out of hatred, he didn't want throne out of thirst for power and he isn't a sadist. But that doesn't excuse his arrogance, he thought he was the only one who could do the job right when it comes to Ferelden's protection.

He feels human. He has flaws. He tried to do right in his own way, but he failed and made a terrible mistake which he realises in the end, and he accepts the players judgement to be executed or to join the Wardens.

I'm so pissed at what Bioware did to this character (and many others). So much potential wasted because magical Illuminati across the sea were the true villains all this time.
