Inspo: Set in the World Class series, y/n's older brother Rowan decides to finally tie the knot with his girlfriend Rosemary. In turn, Y/N invites Jude as her plus one. Little did she know that inviting her boyfriend who almost won the euro's would cause such a stir.
You hated weddings. You hated the formality, the expectations, the grand declarations of love. How could anyone promise to love someone forever when life was so unpredictable, so fragile? People fell out of love, people changed, and worst of all, people died. You had seen it firsthand and the pain it caused.
The memory of Noah, your eldest brother, loomed large in your mind. He had been the glue that held their family together, his laughter and warmth filling every room he entered. But in 2020, a tragic accident had taken him from them, leaving a gaping hole that time could never fully heal. Rowan had been especially close to Noah, and you knew that today, more than ever, he would be feeling that absence acutely.
Yet, this wedding was different. Your older brother Rowan, who had been with his girlfriend Rosemary for as long as you could remember, had finally proposed. Rowan and Rosemary’s relationship had weathered many storms, and their love had only grown stronger. It was a day of joy and celebration, something you couldn’t deny them, despite your own reservations.
You stood in front of the mirror in your hotel room, your hands trembling slightly as you tried to zip up your dress. The gown was a stunning mix of red and black satin, elegant and bold, but the zipper seemed to have a mind of its own. You struggled with it for a moment, your thoughts drifting back to all the times Noah had teased you about your dramatic views on love and marriage. He would have laughed at you today, seeing you all dressed up and ready to support Rowan.
A soft knock on the door pulled you from her reverie. “Y/N, are you okay in there?” Jude’s voice, warm and concerned, came through the door.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you called back, though your voice wavered slightly. “Just having a bit of trouble with this zipper.”
Jude entered the room, his presence instantly calming you. He looked impeccable in his tailored suit, every bit the professional athlete who had just come off an incredible performance at the 2024 Men’s Euros. But here, in this moment, he was just Jude, the man who had captured your heart.
“Let me help,” he offered, moving behind you. His fingers brushed lightly against your bare back as he took hold of the zipper, sending a shiver down your spine. He slowly pulled the zipper upwards, your eyes meeting in the mirror.
“You look beautiful,” he whispered, his voice husky with admiration.
Your breath hitched, a blush creeping up your neck. “Thank you,” you replied softly.
As his fingers lingered on your back, you thought again of Noah. The thought of him brought a pang of sadness that you couldn’t shake.
“Y/N,” Jude’s voice pulled her back to the present. “You okay?”
You nodded, forcing a smile. “Yeah, just… thinking about Noah. He should be here.”
Jude’s eyes softened with understanding. “I know. He would have loved this.” He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “But you’re here, and that’s what matters to Rowan."
You nodded, drawing strength from Jude’s presence. “You’re right. Thank you.”
He smiled, his eyes filled with love. “Always.”
You turned to face him fully, your hands resting on his chest. “You look pretty good yourself,” you teased, your voice trembling slightly.
Jude grinned, his eyes darkening with desire. “Well, I have to look my best if I’m going to keep up with you.”
You shared a brief, passionate kiss, the intensity of your love wrapping around you. When you finally pulled apart, breathless and flushed, you felt a thrill of excitement. Despite the sadness, despite your doubts, this day held a promise of happiness and love.
“We should get downstairs,” you said, though your voice lacked conviction.
Jude stole one more quick kiss. “Yeah, we should,” he agreed, but his eyes told her he was in no rush. You steal one last kiss, before Jude gestures an arm for you to take and you slowly make their way down the stairs.
You and Jude arrived at the wedding reception, a beautifully decorated hall filled with flowers and twinkling lights. The soft murmur of conversations and the clinking of glasses created a warm, celebratory atmosphere. You found a quiet corner near the entrance, waiting for the rest of your family to arrive.
You fidgeted with the strap of your bra, trying to adjust it discreetly. Jude noticed your discomfort and stepped in front of you, shielding you from view.
"Need some help?" he asked softly, his voice filled with concern.
"Just trying to fix this strap," you whispered back, your fingers fumbling with the fabric.
Jude placed his hands gently on your shoulders, his body acting as a shield while you adjusted your strap. He kept glancing down at you, his eyes filled with a mixture of amusement and admiration.
"Is something wrong?" You asked, noticing his intense gaze.
Jude's lips curled into a small smile. "No, nothing's wrong. It's just... you look really hot right now."
Your cheeks flushed with a mix of embarrassment and pleasure. "Thanks," you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
Jude's hand slid from your shoulder to your waist, pulling you closer. "Seriously, you’re making it very hard to focus on anything else," he murmured, his breath warm against your ear. His other hand rested briefly on your ass, giving a gentle squeeze before moving away as he heard footsteps approaching.
Your heart raced, the heat between you two intensifying. "Who says you have to?" You whispered back, your fingers curling into his shirt, pulling him even closer.
Jude's eyes darkened, his other hand drifting down to your hip, fingers lightly grazing the fabric of your dress. His lips found your neck, planting soft, teasing kisses along your skin. Your eyes fluttered shut, a soft gasp escaping your lips. His touch was intoxicating, and for a moment, you were lost in your own world.
"You're driving me crazy," Jude whispered against your skin, his voice husky.
Your breath hitched as his hand trailed up your back, lingering at the nape of your neck. "Good," she managed to say, your voice shaking with desire.
Jude pulled back slightly, his eyes locked onto yours, filled with a mix of lust and affection. "If we weren't at your brother's wedding..."
You smiled, your heart pounding in your chest. "I know."
Your moment was intense, the world around you fading as you both focused solely on each other. Jude's thumb brushed against your jawline, his touch sending shivers down your spine. Before you could get further lost in each other, the sound of approaching footsteps and voices broke their intimate bubble. You reluctantly pulled apart, your connection still palpable, and turned to face the incoming relatives.
As you and Jude were still adjusting from your intimate moment, Aunt Karen approached with her warm smile, her eyes flickering with a hint of curiosity. "Y/N, darling! It’s so good to see you!" she exclaimed, pulling you into a hug. Then she turned to Jude, her eyes twinkling with familiarity. "And Jude, always a pleasure. How’s everything going?"
Jude smiled, his gaze locking onto yours, a silent message passing between you two. "Good to see you, Aunt Karen," he replied smoothly, but there was a heat in his eyes that made Your breath catch.
You gave a distracted smile, your attention drifting back to the way Jude’s tuxedo fit him perfectly, accentuating the strong lines of his body. Your heart skipped a beat, the memory of their earlier closeness still tingling on your skin. You could feel the warmth of his touch lingering, and despite the ongoing conversation, all you could think about was how impossibly handsome he looked tonight.
Your Grandma appeared next, her eyes sharp yet affectionate as she took in the sight of you two. "Well, if it isn’t my favorite couple," she said with a teasing lilt in her voice, her gaze lingering on the space between you. "I must say, Jude, you’re looking dashing tonight."
Jude's smile widened, but his hand subtly brushed against You, sending a thrill up her spine. "Thank you. It’s great to see you," he responded, though his attention never fully left you.
Your gaze lingered on Jude, your thoughts clouded with admiration and something deeper, something that made your heart race. Your Grandma’s words barely registered as she continued, “And how was the Euro final? We were all glued to the TV, cheering for you!”
Your Uncle Michael joined the conversation, his face lit up with excitement. "We were screaming the house down! Me and the lads from the pub couldn’t believe it when you scored that winning goal. Everyone was talking about it!”
You shifted uncomfortably. The praise directed at Jude felt overwhelming, especially as your own achievements were being overshadowed. They each forgot the Women’s World Cup again, with the conversation seemingly revolved solely around Jude’s Euro final. You bit your lip, focusing on Jude’s sleek, tailored tux instead of voicing your frustration, but the intensity of your feelings were hard to ignore.
Another relative, Cousin Lisa, chimed in enthusiastically, “Honestly, Jude, you were phenomenal. The whole neighborhood was talking about it. I think they’re still raving about it!”
Jude’s eyes shifted to you, noticing your distant expression. He could sense your discomfort, the subtle tension between you growing as he decided to address it with a hint of humor. “Well, I don’t know. What do you think, Y/N?” he asked, his voice low and teasing as he glanced at you with a playful smirk.
Uncle Michael raised an eyebrow, puzzled. “What would she know? She’s not the one who made it to the final.”
Jude chuckled, his gaze never leaving you. “Actually, I think Y/N has a pretty good perspective. She didn’t just make it to the final—she won the whole Women’s World Cup,” he said, his voice carrying a mix of pride and admiration.
The room fell silent for a moment, and you felt a surge of pride and attraction. The way Jude acknowledged your achievements made your heart race, adding to the growing warmth between you. You glanced up at him, your eyes meeting his with a newfound intensity, the air between you tao crackling with unspoken desire.
"Well, congratulations to both of you," Aunt Karen said, her voice sincere. "You both have so much to be proud of."
You managed a smile, though your attention remained focused on Jude. His presence, the way he spoke up for you, and the genuine admiration in his eyes made your heart swell with affection, and something more—a hunger that you couldn’t quite quell.
As the relatives continued to chat and praise Jude, you found it difficult to pull your gaze away from him. His tuxedo, his confident demeanor, and his unwavering support for you in front of everyone only amplified your attraction to him. It was a reminder of why you were so drawn to him, beyond the accolades and the excitement of the evening.
Amid the chatter, you reached out and took Jude’s hand under the table, your fingers lacing with his. You squeezed it gently, your touch lingering. "Thanks for standing up for me," you whispered, your voice thick with emotion.
Jude’s eyes softened as he looked at you, his thumb brushing against your hand in a slow, deliberate caress. "Anytime," he replied, his voice low and reassuring, filled with a promise of more.
As you continued to mingle, the focus gradually shifted back to the others, but your thoughts were miles away, lost in the way Jude’s touch made you feel. There was a contentment in knowing that despite the overshadowing praise, you had Jude by your side.
As you and Jude settled into your seats in the church, the soft murmur of guests filled the air, blending with the gentle strains of the prelude music. Your attention was immediately drawn to Isabella, your six-year-old niece, who stood near the front with the other bridesmaids. Isabella, or Bella as the family fondly called her, looked absolutely adorable in her tiny ivory dress, a crown of flowers delicately perched atop her bouncy curls.
Your face lit up as she leaned forward, unable to contain her excitement. “Bella, you look like an absolute princess!” You gushed, your eyes twinkling with pride.
Bella smiled brightly, her cheeks flushing with happiness. She gave a little twirl, letting the layers of her dress float around her. “Thank you, Aunty Y/N! Do you really like it?” she asked, her voice full of hope.
“I love it,” You replied warmly, your smile wide and genuine. “You’re the most beautiful bridesmaid here.”
Jude sat beside you, his eyes soft as he watched the exchange. There was something incredibly heartwarming about the way you interacted with Bella—how you made the little girl feel so special and loved. He could see the natural ease with which you connected with your niece, and it stirred something deep within him.
As Bella giggled and skipped off to join the other bridesmaids, your gaze lingered on her, still glowing with affection. You turned back to Jude, your expression full of warmth. “She’s such a sweetheart, isn’t she?” You said, your voice tinged with pride.
Jude nodded, his eyes never leaving your face. “She really is,” he agreed, but his mind was elsewhere.
Watching you with Bella made Jude think about your future together. He could so clearly imagine you as a mother, holding your own children with the same tenderness you showed Bella. The thought filled him with a deep sense of warmth and anticipation, a quiet longing that he kept to himself. He knew how much you cared for your niece, but he also knew that the idea of starting a family someday made you nervous. It was something you hadn’t really discussed, and Jude didn’t want to push it, especially not now.
Instead, he simply admired you, letting the image of your possible future settle in his heart. You had a way of making people feel cherished, and he knew you would be an incredible mother someday—but that was a conversation for another time.
You noticed the thoughtful look on Jude’s face and gave him a gentle nudge. “What are you thinking about?” You asked, you tone light and curious.
Jude shook off his thoughts, offering her a soft smile. “Just how good you are with Bella,” he said, keeping his voice casual.
Your cheeks flushed slightly, and you laughed softly. “She’s been my little Bella since the day she was born,” you replied, your voice filled with affection.
Jude squeezed your hand gently, his smile lingering as you turned your attention back to the front of the church, where the ceremony was about to begin. He didn’t need to say anything more. For now, he was content to simply be by your side, holding onto the quiet knowledge of what he hoped your future would hold—dreaming of a day when you would be ready to take that next step together.
The ceremony soon began, and You watched as your sister Eden took her place as a bridesmaid, while your brother Elliot stood proudly as Rowan’s best man. The anticipation grew as everyone waited for the bride.
As the music swelled, the doors at the end of the aisle opened, and Rosemary appeared, radiant in her wedding gown. You felt a lump form in your throat as you saw Rowan at the altar, his eyes brimming with tears as he watched his bride walk towards him. The emotion in the room was palpable, and you felt yourself getting choked up.
You couldn’t contain your excitement, smiling and gushing as you watched your brother. You had never seen Rowan so happy, and the joy in his eyes was contagious. Although you wished Noah could be there to witness this moment, your heart swelled with happiness for Rowan.
Little Isabella, the flower girl, walked ahead of Rosemary, carrying a basket of petals. Every few steps, she would delicately sprinkle the flowers along the aisle, her concentration adorable. You couldn’t help but admire Isabella’s dedication to her role, smiling each time the little girl looked up with pride.
Jude noticed the way your eyes lit up, how you seemed to be the embodiment of joy and love in that moment. He was completely besotted with you, watching you as you took in every detail of the ceremony. He knew, without a doubt, that you were the one he wanted to spend his life with.
The officiant began the ceremony, and soon it was time for Rowan and Rosemary to exchange vows. Rosemary took a deep breath and smiled at Rowan.
“Rowan, from the moment Noah introduced us, I knew you were special. I promise to always laugh at your jokes, even the terrible ones. I vow to support you in your dreams and to love you fiercely, no matter what.”
Rowan chuckled, wiping away a tear. “Rosemary, I promise to always let you have the last slice of pizza. I vow to support your dreams and to love you through every adventure, every challenge, and every joy.”
Jude felt his throat tighten, his emotions mirroring the couple’s. As Rowan and Rosemary exchanged their vows, he couldn’t help but imagine standing up there with you one day, saying those same words, making those same promises. The thought made his heart swell with a mixture of hope and longing.
The mention of Noah made your tears spill over, and you rested your head on Jude’s shoulder, finding comfort in his presence. Jude’s eyes were misty too, and he wiped away a tear discreetly, his emotions matching yours. He tightened his grip on you, feeling a surge of protectiveness and love.
As Rowan and Rosemary shared their first kiss as a married couple, the guests erupted into applause. You joined in, your heart full despite the bittersweet memories. You looked up at Jude, who smiled down at you with so much love and understanding that it made you feel incredibly grateful to have him by yiur side.
“It was beautiful, wasn’t it?” Jude whispered, his voice slightly choked with emotion.
You nodded, wiping your tears. “Yeah, it really was.”
You sat there for a moment, soaking in the love and joy that filled the room. Jude’s thoughts wandered to the future, to the possibility of a life with you, filled with moments like this. He couldn’t help but dream of standing at an altar, looking into your eyes, and making vows of his own.
Later that evening, the reception is in full swing. The dance floor is alive with energy, guests mingling and celebrating Rowan and Rosemary’s union. The lights are dimmed, casting a warm, intimate glow over the scene.
You find yourself in the middle of the dance floor, smiling as Jude lifts little Isabella onto his shoulders. Her giggles are infectious as she waves her arms, trying to keep up with the rhythm. You dance alongside your sister Eden, the two of you moving in sync, laughing and twirling.
Isabella’s laughter rings out, her tiny hands clapping in delight. "More, more!" she shouts, and Jude obliges, spinning around and making her squeal with joy. Your heart swells with love as you watch Jude interact with your family. He fits in so perfectly, and it makes you think about what the future might hold for both of you.
You glance around the room, taking in the sight of your loved ones celebrating together. Rowan and Rosemary are glowing with happiness, sharing a private moment at their table. Your parents are dancing nearby, looking as in love as ever. The warmth and joy of the occasion fill you with a sense of peace. God, Noah would've loved this.
The DJ’s voice echoes through the speakers, “Can all couples please make their way to the floor for a slow dance?”
Isabella is gently lifted off Jude’s shoulders and handed over to Eden, who continues to twirl and dance with her. Jude turns to you, extending his hand with a playful bow. "May I have this dance?" he asks, his eyes twinkling with affection.
You giggle and take his hand, allowing him to lead you to the center of the floor. The music slows, and the soft, romantic melody fills the room. Jude’s hands find their way to your waist, pulling you close. You wrap your arms around his neck, and together you sway gently to the rhythm.
As you move together, everything else seems to fade away. The chatter of the guests, the clinking of glasses, and even the music itself become a distant hum. It’s as if time has stopped, leaving just the two of you in your own little world.
You look up at Jude, taking in his appearance. He’s wearing a tailored black tuxedo that fits him perfectly, accentuating his broad shoulders and athletic build. His dark hair is styled neatly, and his deep brown eyes are filled with love and adoration as he gazes down at you. The way the dim light catches his features makes him look even more handsome, if that’s possible.
Jude’s forehead rests against yours, his eyes locking onto yours with a gaze that speaks volumes. His hands move gently up and down your back, sending shivers down your spine. You feel so safe, so cherished in his embrace.
“You know,” Jude murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper, “I could get used to this. Dancing with you, being with you. Forever.”
Your heart flutters at his words, your breath catching in your throat. You smile up at him, your eyes misty with emotion. “Me too,” you reply softly. “Me too.”
You lose yourself in his eyes, feeling the world around you blur into insignificance. His touch is gentle yet firm, grounding you in the moment. The way he looks at you makes you feel like the only person in the room, and you know without a doubt that this is where you’re meant to be.
The music envelops you both, the melody weaving a cocoon of intimacy around you. You rest your head on Jude’s shoulder, closing your eyes and savoring the feeling of being held by him. His scent, a mix of cologne and something uniquely him, fills your senses, making you feel even closer to him.
You’re wearing a stunning dress that’s a mix of red and black, the fabric clinging to your curves in all the right places. The intricate lace details add an air of elegance, while the deep red color highlights your features, making your eyes sparkle. Your hair is styled in loose waves, cascading down your back, and your makeup is done to perfection, highlighting your natural beauty.
As the song progresses, you feel Jude’s hand slip down to rest on the small of your back, his fingers tracing light patterns that send a thrill through you. You can feel his heartbeat against your chest, steady and strong, and it matches the rhythm of your own.
You tilt your head up slightly, your lips brushing against his ear. “I love you" you whisper, the words coming straight from your heart.
Jude tightens his hold on you, his lips grazing your temple. “Me too, your my numero uno.” he replies, his voice filled with emotion.
The world around you ceases to exist as you sway together, completely lost in each other. You feel a warmth spread through your chest, a sense of peace and happiness you’ve never known before. Being with Jude feels like home.
As the song comes to an end, Jude leans down, capturing your lips in a tender kiss. It’s a promise, a silent vow of the future you both dream of. When you pull apart, the room comes back into focus, but the magic of the moment lingers.
You glance over to see Rowan and Rosemary sharing a similar moment, their love shining brightly. Your parents are still dancing, your mom resting her head on your dad’s shoulder with a contented smile. Even little Isabella is now nestled in Eden’s arms, looking sleepy but happy.
You feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the love and support surrounding you. And as you look back at Jude, you see the same emotion mirrored in his eyes. He gently brushes a strand of hair from your face, his touch lingering on your cheek.
“Ready for another dance?” he asks, his smile soft and inviting.
You nod, unable to tear your eyes away from him. “Always,” you say, your voice filled with love.
The next song begins, and you lose yourself in Jude’s embrace once more. As you move together, you notice Jude’s expression shifts slightly, a familiar look of deep contemplation crossing his face.
“What is it?” you ask softly, curiosity piqued.
Jude looks slightly startled. “What do you mean?”
“You did that face earlier,” you insist. “What is it you’re not telling me?”
Jude hesitates, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “It’s nothing, really.”
“Jude, tell me!” you press, your eyes searching his.
He sighs softly, pulling you a little closer. “It’s just... when you were with Bella earlier, I couldn’t help but imagine what you’d be like with our kids. And when you were looking at Rosemary during the ceremony, all I could think about was how beautiful you’ll be when we get married.”
You’re taken aback by his honesty, your heart skipping a beat. “Jude...”
He quickly continues, sensing your apprehension. “I know, not now. But I also know that I want it with you. Whenever that is.”
You look into his eyes, seeing the sincerity and love there. It’s a lot to take in, but there’s a comforting certainty in his words. He isn’t pushing, just sharing his dreams, dreams that now feel a little less frightening and a lot more wonderful.
“I... I want that too,” you admit softly, your voice trembling slightly. “Someday.”
Jude smiles, a look of pure adoration on his face. “Then someday it is,” he whispers, leaning down to kiss you again, sealing the promise with a tender touch.
As the music plays on and you continue to dance, the future seems a little clearer, a little brighter. And with Jude by your side, you know that whatever comes, you’ll face it together.

10 Things I Hate About You
Pairings: Wednesday Addams x gn!reader / Enid Sinclair x sibling!reader
Summary: Wednesday discovers that she likes it when you make her blush hates you.
Warnings: just fluff and kissing I believe. Probably ooc Wednesday again.
Word Count: 1.0k
Tumblr media
Wednesday almost stabbed you when you dragged her into a supply closet.
You had intercepted her walk to her next lesson with Miss Thornhill. Before she could say anything you kissed her and she melted ever so slightly. Her hands came up to your face, holding your cheeks with her soft hands as you wrapped your arms around her waist.
When you broke away, she stared at you in confusion as if she was telling you to explain the reasoning behind your actions. “You looked stressed at lunch.” You shrugged. All this talk of figuring out who The Hyde is and Gomez being arrested for murder. “I wanted to help.”
“So you dragged me into the janitor’s closet to kiss me?” Wednesday scoffed, her heart beating far too fast. She reached for the light and you gasped, tilting your head. “What?” She asked.
“You…” You pulled a mirror out of your bag and handed it to her.
Wednesday looked at you skeptically before looking down and also gasping. “What’s happening to me?” She asked dramatically, pinching and moving her cheeks. “Why is there colour on my face?” Wednesday frowned. I opened my mouth to speak, but she rushed out of the closet to Enid.
You sighed and left the closet after, turning to Rowan, Ajax, and Xavier who laughed. “That’s gotta be a metaphor or something.” Xavier said and you looked up at the sign that read ‘CLOSET’ above you. “Congrats on coming out of the closet, y/n.” He nodded to you. You held up your middle finger at them, walking to your dorm.
You didn’t see Wednesday for nearly a week after that. Clearly had blushing spooked her because she also had not been attending her lessons. You went to confront your sister about it, but she just squealed and ran away. She was no help whatsoever.
Finally, on Friday, five days later, you sat down for lunch with your friends and your sister. She leaned over and whispered. “Wednesday is mad at you for making her blush and if she finds out that I’m telling you this she will ‘up out my larynx and tear off your auricles,’ okay? So don’t tell her.” She pointed a breadstick at you.
“Hm.” You said proudly, holding your head up high. “Tell me everything.”
“Well…” Enid started.
‘Wednesday rushed to her dorm and slammed the door shut, startling Enid. She looked in your compact mirror once more, looking distraught. “Help me.” Wednesday said to Enid when she stood up and made her way over.
“What exactly do you need help with?” Enid asked in confusion.
“My face has colour. Get it off.” Wednesday said seriously with a glare. Enid froze for a second before doubling over in a fit of laughter. Wednesday squinted at her in annoyance ask Enid wiped her tears.
The laughter didn’t stop for three more minutes before Enid started wheezing. “I’m sorry. It’s not funny.” She struggled for breath. “It’s just… you’re blushing!” Enid said.
“No.” Wednesday shook her head in denial. “…How do I stop?”
“You can’t.” Enid said when she calmed down a little, giggling softly. “Who made you blush?” She then asked.
Wednesday hesitated slightly with a frown. “y/n did.” She said. Enid heaved out a breath. “They dragged me into the supply closet and kissed me, then I just…” She motioned to her face. “My cheeks started overheating and my stomach feels like I just swallowed a bunch of black widow spiders.”
“You and y/n?” Enid gasped in shock, jumping up and down, hitherto stopping with a glare. “If you hurt them I will hurt you back.” She pointed. “So hard.”
“Enid, you’re about as threatening as that green, singing chipmunk.” Wednesday deadpanned, her blush fading. “Tell anyone about this, especially y/n and I will feed you to the wolves.” She threatened. “Hear me?”
“Loud and clear.” Enid saluted.’
“Holy shit.” Xavier laughed from across the table having eavesdropped on the two of you. “I don’t know what’s more shocking, the fact that you made Wednesday blush or the fact that you’ve been hooking up with her.”
“We don’t ‘hook up’ we just kiss sometimes… for fun.” You shook your head, looking down. “Where is she now?”
“Probably in our dorm, writing something.” Enid shrugged.
You jumped up, grabbing your bag and making your way to your sister’s dorm. You knocked on the door rapidly, not waiting for a response before barging in. Wednesday looked at you wide-eyed before averting them to the wall. You walked up to her and looked down. “Wednesday, look at me.” You ordered.
“I hate you.” Wednesday murmured. “I hate how soft your lips are, I hate your stupid laugh, I hate how you smile at me from across a classroom, I hate how you make me feel things that I don’t understand and feel can’t control, I hate how stupidly pretty your face is. I. Hate. You.” Wednesday took in a deep breath after she stopped, looking at me now.
“Are you done?” I asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
“As a matter a fact, no, I am not.” She said. “I hate how you ask to hug me because you know I don’t like physical contact, and how you braid my hair. I hate how you don’t eat meat on the days that you kiss me because I’m a vegetarian, and how you also put a bottle of water on my bedside table for when I wake up from good dreams. And I hate how you’re so happy all of the time. So much so that it balances me out.”
“Can I kiss you?”
“Please.”
Your lips connected in a first kiss, teeth clashing against each other hurriedly. Like you were scared that the other would disappear when you broke apart. You kissed like every emotion that you had felt because of Wednesday was spilling out all at once. Your counterpart’s hands got tangled in your hair as you pulled her forward by the waist she mumbled your name as you kissed her neck, leaving a tattooed kiss where your lips once were.
“Not hooking up, my ass.”

A/N: Quick drabble I wrote while listening to Ptolemaea by Ethel Cain.
Summary: After spending several days in the Night Court, Cadre!Reader has a nightmare triggered by their unfamiliar surroundings.
Pairing: Azriel X Cadre!Reader
Warnings: PTSD, trauma induced nightmares, mentions of dying, mental torture, dissociation, angst, fear of the dark
Nightmare:
You thought it was real.
That the fire breathing bitch queen had saved you, that she had been real. It was nothing but something Maeve planted to tease you and then break you further.
You knew it.
The dream made freedom taste so real, the grass under your feet felt softer, the air was deliciously cold and fresh against your face. It smelled like snow.
But it was never real.
There is no fireheart. Maeve long since turned her to ash.
As you knelt once more before the dark queen's throne, your back aching with how long you had bowed. Utterly at her mercy. You knew Rowan was next to you, Fenrys on your right.
You knew they had the same delusions you were given. Fenrys was sobbing, he had always hated his oath and to be given a taste of freedom only to have it ripped away? And Rowan, how cruel to have to learn his true mate was not Lyria through a dream. But the savior? She died during the fall of Terrasen.
There is no escaping.
Your hands began trembling and the world started to crack and twist. Whips of darkness began cracking across your vision, and your friends began screaming.
There is no escaping.
Rowan Whitethorn was begging for his mate. His fireheart. The floor roiled underneath you and yet you could only kneel.
As Fenrys began to scream beside you, you forced your head up. Fighting against that unholy darkness that Maeve tortured you with for centuries.
Your last defiance was to look her in the eye, before the blood oath took everything from you.
But as you forced your eyes up and you caught a glimpse of violet eyes, everything shattered.
There was darkness all around you as you launched yourself from your bed, pulling your dagger with you from under your pillow.
You couldn't see.
Your magic thrashed in your veins. There were hands on your shoulders suddenly and a male's voice sounded nearby. The darkness cleared and you saw him, your fated.
Azriel.
There was something in his eyes that you couldn't place, but you didn't want to.
"Are you okay?" He sounded like he was underwater, and you weren't quite sure you weren't still dreaming until his scarred hands squeezed you.
You knew you were awake when you saw the other male out of the corner of your eye, Rhysand. Instincts told you to straighten your shoulders and make eye contact with the high lord- his eyes.
You couldn't do it.
He was trying to speak to you, but if Azriel sounded underwater, Rhysand might as well have been in another room entirely.
So you put your hands on your mates chest and pushed him away from you. Azriel hesitated, instincts likely bellowing at him to hold, to protect, to soothe.
You were beyond words.
Saying anything to either of them was too hard to even comprehend, dredging up the energy to pretend you were fine. The energy to pull yourself together and once again submit yourself to someone stronger than you made you want to bellow.
Blood curdling wrath hit you and your magic roared in answer, heating your wrecked soul. Not wrath directed at the males before you who were trying to speak to you.
You couldn't hear them anyway. You couldn't feel Azriel's hands back on your shoulders, shaking you before abruptly dropping you. You didn't register the pain in his eyes when he did either, or the magic that had erupted from you and cocooned around you.
You didn't notice that the dagger you had grabbed to desperately attempt to defend yourself from old ghosts fell from your hand and clattered to the ground.
You stared straight ahead and felt nothing at all. Until you felt Rhysand break through your mental shields.
Your very soul seemed to cave in when they fell. Rhysand felt it too, you knew. As he immediately began to pull back, knowing he pushed far too hard when your mind was this vulnerable. But as your memories and your pain swarmed to the surface? He saw it.
And Rhysand finally understood why you couldn't hold his eyes.
He saw it himself.

BAHRAIN 23’ : SUNDAY.
P8.
Qualifying P8 overall? That was horrid for everyone’s standards….but qualifying P8 in a Williams that was considered a tractor? That was impressive.First race of the season…
First race in her entire Formula 1 career.
She was nervous, stressed, scared — a whirlwind of emotions really. There was only so much her teammate could do,trying to console her was proved useless as of now.The girl’s mind pranced all over the place, she tried — key word being tried, to slow down her heart. The Brit had taken a seat next to her, watching her lose her mind.He sighed softly, understanding how she would feel yet wanting her to put her doubts and worries to a pause.
Even if they only were acquainted for a few months,he could already read her like a book. She reminded him of himself — a particular time where he was in Toro Rosso.
“Y/N” he called out softly, placing a hand on her shoulder. The girl simply looked up at him with an indifferent expression, though he knew she was hiding all those emotions in her heart. Her hands balled up into fists on her lap, turning a shade lighter than her actual skin was a telltale sign. “You’ll be fine” he reminds her softly.
You’ll be fine.
She will be fine.
The words sinking in,she thought deep and hard about what he said. The worst case scenario would be a DNF — but there were many more races in the season to prove her worth. What if people would hate her for her performance? — people would hate her regardless of what she does ; she’s a woman to begin with.
She nodded her head slowly accepting his words.Don’t get me wrong she was still very nervous….but it couldn’t go absolutely horrid right? “I hope so.” she breathed out, nervous chuckle coming out.
“It’s your first race so I understand the nervousness..but take it easy”
Taking out her phone she scrolled through her messages one last time…only to find a message from her father. Her eyes scanned over the message — trying to hide a smile from forming.
‘Goodluck, will be watching you from the team’s garage’
Not her team though.
Putting the phone away to put on her balaclava and helmet, she quickly made herself comfortable in the car.Checking the settings one last time and doing a radio check ; she was all set to go.She manoeuvred the car out of the pit lane, taking her rightful place between the other 19 cars on the circuit.
“The goal is to maintain your position, overtake if you can but don’t be risky” her race engineer — Rowan informed her.“Copy.” she replied monotously, choosing to put her full attention on the red lights.
Only a few more seconds…and then away we go.It seemed like it would take forever for the light to go off.’You got this’ she repeated over and over again in her head….she would be okay.
3..
2…….
1.
Hitting the throttle to push as much as much as she could, she managed to maintain her position right behind her teammate.Through her side mirror she spotted the obnoxiously pink and blue Alpine trying to catch up to her.Was it Gasly’s or Ocons’s? She didn’t care at all.All she knew was to defend her spot — and playing the supporting role for her teammate.
This went on for a few more laps. She was restless ; her mind thinking of ways to solve the little problem on her hands right now.
Seeing the Alpine begin to close the gap,she pushed the pedal harder than she thought she could. Her heart pumped at undeniable speeds, feeling the adrenaline coursing through.“Gap to Gasly is 6.2 seconds. You can push, the tyres are still fresh” Rowan commented.
“Copy.” She kept her replies short and sweet, all her concentration poured into increasing the distance between her and the other cars behind her.She inched closer to her teammate, not willing to overtake for now.She would have to listen to the team’s instructions…but there was something off.
He was slowing down.
“Alex is going awfully slow” she remarked through comms with worry seeping through. She maintained her pace which caused her to be wheel-to-wheel with her teammate. His car pulled over to the side, leaving her as the only Williams car in the race.Eyebrows furrowing wirh confusement she thought of bringing it up with the team.
“Alex has been instructed to retire the car due to an engine problem—you have to push as much as you can to maintain your momentum.”
Didn’t need to tell her twice.
She said nothing, trying her best to catch up to the two orange McLarens in front of her.Getting closer, the hairs on her neck were pin straight.
“You have DRS.Overtake available”
“Copy” she hummed.Inching even closer then before, there it was.She could overtake now.She drove past by the first McLaren with ease.Oscar, the Australian McLaren driver in question was surprised there was a Williams gliding right in front of him.Sitting comfortably in P6 now,she was on a roll!
Within a few moments, she was able to strike for the overtake over the other McLaren. She was taking her rightful place as P5.
Just a little bit more.
It felt like forever, mere minutes feeling the same as a millennia for the rookie.By now,it was the final lap so she pushed as hard as she could.Passing the finish line she let out a breath of relief — she completed her first race.
“Congratulations Y/N…that is P5.”
P5…
What.The.Fuck.
“You’re joking….right? There’s no way we placed P5” she asked bluntly. She may have sounded blunt — but the girl was overjoyed.
The car was a tractor by how problematic it was during pre-season testing ; how was it in the points now? It was a relief. She laughed obnoxiously, smiling through that balaclava and helmet.
“Believe if it you want but that is a P5 on your debut.Beautiful performance from you — cannot wait to see more” Rowan congratulated her wirh a chuckle, amused at how she was seemed ro be in disbelief. The girl was laughing in joy now.It might not have been a podium like she was used to,but a P5 in a Williams was almost the equivalent of that.
She was nowhere near being satisfied ; but this would have to count for now.
She pulled her car into the garage, hopping out of the cockpit cheerfully.Taking off the balaclava and her helmet, the girl was greeted with cheers and rounds of applause from her team. She bloomed with joy — she didn’t care if her hair was sweaty and all over the place, this was where her hard work has gotten her.
Alex had made his way next to her, bringing the younger girl into a brief embrace. He was disappointed the first race of the season resulted in a DNF for himself, but he would not let that stop him from celebrating his teammate.
“Told you it would be alright” he muttered close to her so she could hear him.She simply flashed him a small smile, her heart filled with gratitude for him.The whole team embraced the two drivers to celebrate, regardless of the outcome. It was a new start.
A good one to say the least.
Tumblr media
MCLAREN: LAP 40/57
The Brit drove comfortably in his McLaren. He was not worried about losing positions now, there was a comfortable distance between him and the car behind him.Driving without a worry,he failed to notice the Williams inching closer and closer to him.
“Lando, you need to push. The Williams is closing the gap between you two.”
What?
There was no way a Williams was behind him.Was he too slow or was the car suddenly blessed by the gods of speed? He couldn’t waste any time pondering further on that — he wouldn’t let himself lose to that tractor.
“Copy.” he replied quickly hitting the pedal to the metal. He tried his best to maintain his momentum ; but it came to no avail. The car had glided right past him in the matter of seconds.
“Was that the rookie’s car?” he asked in disbelief attempting to catch up to the woman in front of him.
“Yes — that was Y/N’s car”
“Fucking hell.”
Tumblr media
The after party was…insane to say the least.
She didn’t exactly oppose parties — but she wasn’t entirely open to them either. The loud screams of joy, sweaty bodies colliding against each other, and the overall smell of alcohol ; she was not really pleased with the thought of parties as a whole.
Everyone in the club was celebrating the start of the season, it would be a memorable one for the books. She was only a few drinks in but ready to call it a day so she could head back to her room.
Stood next to a wasted Alex,he was rambling her ear off about something beyond her comprehension. The pair had showed up together after he convinced her to ; saying something along the lines of ‘enjoying your firsts’ which definetly gave off an entirely different message….
She was unsure of what to do with him — call a cab back to the hotel? let him have his fun? The girl was stuck pondering there and nodding mindlessly to his slurring and rambling.
“I think I’ll take him off your hands for now rookie.”
Her head shot up at the voice approaching her.She instantly knew who it was ; his British accent was hard to miss. The two were cackling at the wasted gentleman.
Greeting him with a nod,she knudged the other driver next to her so he could acknowledge the newcomer.
“LANDO! I’ve been waiting for you” Alex happily chirped, throwing himself to his fellow friend. She watched in amusement as the situation unfolded in front of her.The younger man slinging his senior’s hand around him,he walked towards the center of the party — where the other drivers sat.Their eyes scanned over to a very drunk Alex whose body was supported by the McLaren driver, and then the newbie who did not want to be here.
She flashed a friendly smile to the others as they were welcoming her with cheers.Pierre instantly had to make himself known, greeting her with a wink. She brushed it off, choosing to focus on the others. They went back to being engrossed in their own conversations — she felt out of place.Of course she did! She was a woman standing amongst sweaty and intoxicated men…definetly a position she was not to happy to be in.
Her bubble of thoughts were popped when the young man approached her once more.“Sorry about Alex,I think he’s drinking all that pain from his DNF away.” he remarked, eyes crinkling as he joked. The girl chuckled softly with him.
“He did give me a warning before hand that he was a lightweight — I was surprised it was that bad”
“Well,I would be drinking the night away too if my teammate got a P5 in a midfield car and I had to retire.”
Wow.
He was blunt.
She scrunched her nose at his comment. He smirked at her reaction, hand going over her shoulder in a friendly matter.”Speaking of drinking — you look like you haven’t been doing any of that” he pointed out, eyebrows raised as he wondered the reason for that.
“I don’t drink that much”
“It’s painfully obvious you don’t.” he snarkily commented. The girl raised her eyebrow on him,he was sassier than she expected him to be.She huffed, unsure of what to do with the man next to her.The two had interacted a couple of times through random run ins into each other at the paddock.Shy smiles had been sent to each other…he thought she was Alex’s PR Manager.
“I’m Lando by the way, even if you already knew that.”
“I know — Y/N..” she hummed nonchalantly, the boy raising an eyebrow at her response. She didn’t have any intent of coming off as cold ; she just did not know how to make herself comfortable among them. She was the outcast in her previous years of competing due to her gender — it was unusual to feel welcomed now.
She wondered in the back of her mind, did he have malicious intent or was he just nice?
Y/N was more acquainted with his teammate — Oscar, racing against each other in Formula 2.It was good for Oscar that he got a seat in a prestigious team ; she was unfortunately stuck in the bottom.Speaking of Oscar, she scanned the club to find him nowhere…weird.
“I think I’m ready to call it a night to be honest.” she confessed looking up at him.He laughed whole heartedly at her bluntness.Shaking his head,he patted her back.”By the way,you did good out there.Overtook me like it was a piece of cake” he compliments her as the party goes on.Music began blaring even louder now — bodies dancing like there was no tomorrow.
“I can’t hear you” she said loudly so he could get the message. She did hear what he wanted to say ; she just wanted to hear him say it again. He simply nodded at her,his hand moving itself to intertwine itself with hers.Feet beginning to move,he manoeuvred her out of the club. The ear damaging music slowly died down, the two standing at the entrance.
It was a quite night…contrary to the club. Her eyes scanned the man who had just dragged her out.His brown curls, the white shirt that he adorned along with ripped jeans. Her eyes had then averted to the city lights ; shining in their upmost glory.Lighting up the way for them.
“What were you saying just now?” she asked curiously, eager to hear him now that they were away from the crowd.Lando scratched his neck, his hand that was intertwined with hers untangling itself.
“You…you did a good job in the race.” he hummed softly. She perked an eyebrow as a small grin formed itself on her face, her eyes glinting with mischief.
“Don’t worry — I actually heard you the first time.” she snapped back, biting her lip to hold back another chuckle. His eyes were admiring the view in front of them.Bahrain never failed to amaze him.
“Just remember,I won’t let you by that easily next time.” he promised himself, hands sliding its way into his pockets as he stared at her.
“I’d want nothing but your best,Norris.”

"We're going somewhere for our studies today."
You look curiously at Wednesday, clutching the straps of your backpack a little tighter at the sudden spring of information.
Wednesday pretends to not notice your anxiousness, turning to walk off and expecting you to follow. She pays attention to the footsteps behind her, satisfied that you trail along despite clearly being reluctant.
It's been easier to spend time with you lately, with Yoko being incredibly busy with her club activities, and Enid has been keeping herself busy on purpose to leave you with no choice but to spend time with Wednesday.
Wednesday doesn't think you particularly hate spending time with her. You're always cordial and friendly. You've thanked her multiple times for taking the time to help you catch up on your studies and assistance with your current assignments.
Just a few days ago, you gifted her 99% dark chocolate for all the help. Wednesday had been intrigued, thinking you recalled how she preferred the bitter taste. But the intrigue swiftly died when you informed her Enid let you know as you wanted to do something for her.
It didn't matter. It was the fact alone that you went out of your way to give Wednesday something she'd like that mattered.
"Where are we going?" You ask, your voice tinged with curiosity and wariness the further you walk past the school entrance, clearly leaving. "Are we actually studying?"
Wednesday's eyes peer to the corner of her eyes to look at you.
"You study too much."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
Then.
"You spend too much time investigating, Wednesday."
Wednesday didn't even look up at you as she continued to pack her backpack for the day.
"I thought you were interested in coming along to find answers?" Wednesday's voice was dispassionate. There was a part of her that was tinged with annoyance that you constantly invited yourself along to her trips if you were just going to get sick of tagging along now.
"I very much am, but we've clearly hit a wall and I'm not particularly looking forward to walking around in circles in the forest today," you pursed your lip but then smiled. "Why don't we take a little bit of a break today? If you really want to, we can continue investigating tonight instead."
"You're willing to sneak out?" Wednesday raised her brow at you. She thought you were ridiculous for trying to bargain with her. The investigation was important, and Wednesday had no desire to lose any time.
She would investigate, and you were free to come along or not.
"I'll break any rule for you, Wednesday."
You said it in such a natural way, and Wednesday found that she was unable to reply right away. She looked back down at the ground for a moment, blinking before she looked back up at you.
"Where are we going?"
Wednesday had several ideas of where you might take her. There was the music hall, the planetarium, or even the garden. But what she hadn't expected was that you'd take her to the carnival.
"You didn't get to enjoy it, right?" You asked as you stepped out of the taxi, paying the driver cash. Wednesday didn't answer, but you knew the answer. "I mean, probably hard to enjoy since you were chasing the Hyde and almost died after Rowan did."
That was another one of the reasons why Wednesday didn't mind that you came along with her investigations. You were the only person who believed her when she said Rowan was dead, despite also being of the people who saw him in the aftermath.
When Wednesday asked why you believed her, you simply said she didn't come across as someone who would lie about it. So, if he was dead, he was dead.
"I suppose," Wednesday looked at the carnival before her. It was moderately busy for a weekend, and she wasn't particularly interested in doing any of these mundane activities.
"Alright," you clapped your hands, bringing Wednesday's attention to you. "We're on a mission today. I come here every year the carnival opens up to win the biggest prize, but my tickets were short since the carnival got cut short last time with the entire…situation."
"What are you trying to win?" Wednesday asked.
You grin at her, pointing far down the carnival with a specific booth. "That mini motorcycle."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
"This is rigged," Wednesday seethed, glaring at the booth worker who was nervously sweating ever since she approached.
You laughed, grabbing Wednesday's attention and the relief of the worker. "I know, right? We're totally just losing money at this point."
It was a simple game. A gun with 9 rubber bullets and 10 balloons to pop, and you had to win 5 times in a row with no supernatural abilities to get enough tickets to win the motorcycle.
It was not impossible, Wednesday knew that, but the balloons were not close enough where she could get away with hitting two with one rubber bullet.
They've both spent $100 at this point and while Wednesday would get 9 of 10 balloons every time, you would hit one balloon before you missed every other shot, hitting the corner of the wooden target.
As often as you refilled, it was starting to wear a dent.
"You're terrible at this," Wednesday bluntly said, but you merely smiled and shrugged.
A bit of wind was picking up, making the balloons circle around in their spot. Wednesday spotted her opportunity and chance when two balloons circled close enough towards each other, barely grazing.
Wednesday timed it perfectly and shot her 9 bullets, using her last one to wait as they circled towards each other before shooting and getting them both.
"Oh," you grinned. "That was really impressive."
Wednesday didn't react to your praise, waiting for the worker to rotate the next round of balloons and repeating her actions while the wind continued.
So far, Wednesday has won 4 times in a row. She had to pause as the wind died down, but it was sure to come back in a few moments.
"What do you want if we both win?" You asked. "There's only one motorcycle, so you may have to settle for something else."
Wednesday snorted. "I'm not sure I should get my hopes up on getting anything." It was a dig at the fact you've been absolutely terrible with your shots.
"C'mon, Wednesday," you grinned. "Dream a little."
"I don't dream."
"Nightmare it up a little," you quickly rebuttal.
Wednesday sighed, looking at the prizes that hung and framed the booth. Outside of random useless knick knacks, there were just stuffed animals—which were also useless.
But Wednesday's eye caught on a large scorpion stuffed animal. She wasn't one for being sentimental, but this was as good as it would get.
"That," Wednesday pointed at the scorpion stuffed animal.
You looked at it, grinning as you knew the story behind it. "Sure thing."
The wind picked up again, and Wednesday took the opportunity to win the 5th time in a row. The booth worker, whom Wednesday also assumed was the owner, looked relieved and reluctant to hand over the mini-motorcycle.
"I don't want to stand here for hours," Wednesday deadpanned, having already spent 2 and a half hours winning this prize for you. You would be here for 2 and a half days at the rate you were going.
"We're just about finished," you told Wednesday, and she raises her brow, thinking you'd given up.
But you slap down another $20 bill, smirking. Wednesday looked to your side of the targets and noticed the small dent you've managed to create with the rubber bullets. She narrowed her eyes, wondering if that was your plan all along.
Wednesday gets her answer within minutes. Suddenly, you've turned into a master marksman, shooting every balloon precisely until you were down the last two side by side. You tilted your gun, aiming it at the target, where you created a dent in the side. When you shot the bullet, it shot inside the hole and bounced against the wood, flying out with just enough force to hit the two balloons from the side.
Wednesday furrowed her brows in disbelief.
It continued like that until you won 5 times in a row without pausing. The owner looked like he wanted to say something but merely rolled his eyes with a certain kind of fondness Wednesday was sure you earned over the years coming here.
"The tickets get you two of these," the owner said, handing you two large scorpion stuffed animals.
"Did you have fun?" you grinned at Wednesday.
"It was passable," Wednesday admits, unable to fully say that even mundane activities like carnival games were interesting if she was with you.
As you left the booth, you handed Wednesday the stuffed scorpions to hold while taking the mini motorcycle.
"Look," you said. "Now your scorpion has a little friend to keep them company, or a little girlfriend," you wriggled your brows at her while Wednesday sighed, not commenting back.
She looks at the motorcycle and then at you. "Do you even know how to operate this?"
You smiled at Wednesday. "Not at all."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
Now.
The biggest prize of the carnival is still the mini motorcycle, as they don't change the award until next year. It seems they've stocked up since the last time the two of you were here.
Wednesday knows you already have one, but it wouldn't hurt to have another one.
You seem spirited to be at the carnival playing games, as it's obviously familiar to you.
They walk up to the same booth with the same owner, who clearly recognizes them.
"Oh, not again," he sighs. "You're going to run me out of business. Any chance I can talk you out of winning again?"
You look confused, but when you see the motorcycle as the prize, a moment of recognition dawns on your face from the one in the corner of your room. "I've already won this," you slowly say as a confirmation but not as a memory.
"Close," Wednesday drawls. "I won it."
You look confused as to why Wednesday would win the big prize for you, but before you question it, Wednesday speaks again. "It's time to repay the favor and win me one too."
You smile weakly as if the pressure is on, but you pick up the gun, studying the targets. The dent you created on the target was gone as the owner replaced it. You play a couple of rounds to get a feel of the game, while Wednesday puts little effort into her own game. It's unlikely there'd be wind again this time around. Even if Wednesday now knew the other method, it was something Wednesday hoped you would get on your own.
As time goes on, you're starting to get the idea of how to win. It's rather satisfying to watch you get to the same conclusion.
Wednesday takes her time achieving the same method as you. You're focused on your own game, not checking how Wednesday's faring.
You both created a dent relatively around the same time before shooting in sync, winning 5 times in a row.
The owner sighs, shaking his head and muttering about changing the rules about damaging the targets to win. Still, he hands you the motorcycle before asking what else you want.
"Uh," you hesitate, looking at the various prizes before you. Your eyes spot two stuffed animals that make you grin. "The bat and the wolf, please."
With the prizes in tow, the two of you leave the booth.
"What are you going to do with the mini motorcycle?" You ask.
"Teach you how to ride," Wednesday bluntly tells you.
You look surprised. "Oh," you chuckled weakly. "Right, I guess I probably told you I wouldn't know how to ride one."
Wednesday doesn't know what to say about your comment, so she veers off topic. "What are you going to do with the stuffed animals?" Wednesday internally sighs at the ridiculousness of the question. There are very limited things you can do with stuffed animals.
"I'm going to give them to Yoko and Enid," you smile.
"Right," Wednesday mutters, feeling something bitter rise in her throat but unable to identify it. Despite coming here and doing it correspondingly, none of this feels the same. "Did you enjoy yourself?"
You shrug your shoulders before nodding. "It's not bad to take a break from studying."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
The second time Wednesday takes you somewhere, you give her a confused smile.
"I'm pretty behind on my classes still," you gently point out, hinting that you're not up for another day of playing hooky, and Wednesday concedes with a nod.
"I'm aware. We aren't taking a break today," Wednesday clarifies, "we're merely studying in a different scenery."
The walk is silent as you follow Wednesday's lead. She takes you further down the river to an area you haven't explored before until you eventually reach a tall wisteria tree, probably the only one in Vermont, preserved with magic.
"Wow," you breathe in awe, "I didn't know we had one so near campus."
The gothic girl is lost in her thoughts as she settles near the base of the tree, grabbing the books from her backpack on autopilot.
You used to trail beside her, and now you always walk one step behind.
It's something Wednesday noticed as she took you around various parts of the school during your study sessions in an attempt to recreate the memories. She knows you're starting to find her odd, but Wednesday can't afford to tell you what she's really trying to do.
Wednesday's goal wasn't necessarily to make you remember everything by taking you to these places that hold special memories. If you never remember, that's okay. What Wednesday wants is to recreate the memories in hopes they'll lead the two of you down the same path it did the first time.
But instead of growing closer like you did the first time, it feels like you're pulling further away.
Even so, Wednesday can't stop trying.
"Um," you mumble as you search through your notebooks. "I was hoping we could pick up where we left off on ancient languages?"
Wednesday nods, and the two of you delve into the usual strict business of studying.
Everything is fine, and Wednesday is grading one of your practice sheets while you work on another. It's fine until she notices your trembling fingers. It's subtle as you were obviously trying to hide it, tightening your hands into fists and keeping them at your sides as you attentively look at the worksheet.
"I can't seem to understand the syntax—" you start to say but abruptly stop when Wednesday suddenly stands up, reaches up, and rips off a wisteria flower stock from the tree. She sits back down, reaching over and grabbing your wrist. The gentle squeezing of her hold prompts you to open your hand up, and Wednesday places wisteria stock into your hand.
The shaking stops, and Wednesday begins explaining the syntax to you without skipping a beat while you stare at her, stunned.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
Then.
"Let's go to the wisteria tree," you were holding Wednesday's hand as you dragged her along. "Today is such a beautiful day, and your skin is way too fair—I mean pale—I mean pallor—to be out in the sun."
Wednesday merely gave you an unimpressed look.
"Once again, you're disrupting my investigations. At this rate, it will take me a lifetime to solve the murders going on here," Wednesday's tone was disgruntled. "It would tarnish not only my reputation but also my ego, and I will make sure you die a miserable death for doing so."
"Ignoring the fact that everyone on campus would totally be dead," you turned around and grinned, "We'd have spent a lifetime together—before you killed me, of course."
You didn't add anything else to your words, but Wednesday could catch the insinuations between the lines.
A lifetime together.
A lifetime with you.
The idea didn't displease Wednesday at all; if anything, the fact that it didn't was more disgruntling.
A large wisteria tree appeared, and the two of you easily settled in. Wednesday was grateful that she had an inkling she should bring a book today in her bag.
"I love this place," you sighed with happiness. "I can't believe you found this place, and I've never noticed it in the years I've been going here."
"It's colorful," Wednesday drawled in response. The flowers that grew were vibrant violet and lavender, something she thought was entirely putrid, but she knew you would love it.
Wednesday was about to say something else when she noticed your fingers were shaking.
"What's wrong with your hands?" Wednesday asked with narrowed eyes.
You looked down, finding you were shaking, before clenching your hands into fists. "It's nothing, it just happens sometimes."
"It's not nothing," Wednesday seethed, angered that you would dare lie to her face. "Why is it shaking? What's wrong?"
You looked like you were debating something for a long moment before you asked her. "Can you grab me one of the wisteria flower stocks?"
Wednesday narrows her eyes at your avoidance, but she gets up, pulls a flower stock off from one of the branches, and passes it to you as she sits down.
"Why does it shake like that?" Wednesday demanded again.
"It's my power," you answer softly, wrapping your fingers around the flower. Wednesday watched as the flower in your handle steadily withered and died. You were smiling at her, but your eyes had a distinct melancholy look.
"This happens when I don't use my powers enough or use them too much. Air is generally made up of a lot of different gases but too little or too much of one causes disruptions in my body because the equilibrium between the air outside and the air inside my body isn't stabilized," you shrugged, holding the withered wisteria flowers in your hands that no longer shook. "I try not to if I can, but plants are a cheat way for me to expel and absorb air to find the equilibrium."
"Why not? It's obviously the most efficient way to stop the shaking," Wednesday frowned.
You shrugged. "I don't think it's a good idea for people to realize there are drawbacks to my powers and how to fix them. It may start with plants, but people will eventually start fearing I can use people the same way."
"Can you?"
You quirked your lip in response, and Wednesday knew the answer.
"Besides," you sighed, dropping the dead wisteria stock with a regretful frown. "Some plants are really beautiful. It's a shame to kill them."
Wednesday looked up at the hanging flowers and scrunched her nose in disgust. "I encourage you to kill this offensively colorful tree."
"When it makes you so miserable? I can't deprive you of that."

Now.
The silence drags on too long, and your lack of response prompts Wednesday to look at you.
You're staring at her before Wednesday watches peer down at your hand, intensely in thought. There's a mix of disbelief and curiosity in your eyes, and Wednesday doesn't understand why.
This was normal.
"Wednesday," you call her name softly, making Wednesday's eyes nearly flutter at the sound. But the next words make her freeze. "Was I in love with you?"
It's something in the way you say it, curious and accepting. Something rushes into Wednesday's chest like a stampede, and she realizes it's hope.
Your tone doesn't suggest you remember anything, but Wednesday rationalizes that it's fine. While it would be ideal that you remember everything, it's not a condition Wednesday holds.
You’re biting your bottom lip, looking reluctant. The silence falls again and lingers until you speak up again, trying to be firm.
"Wednesday, I don't know you—at least not anymore. I don't know what I felt about you before the accident...but that's gone. I'm not going to feel it just because you bring me to places that mattered to us. I don't remember it and I don’t understand it."
Stop talking.
Wednesday wants you to stop talking. She closes her eyes, turning her head away as if that would stop her from hearing your words.
You don't take the hint.
"I don't feel that way about you anymore."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
It was fine—it was.
Wednesday spends the rest of her week doing various things. She writes, then she goes to the library; she briefly goes to the bee club until she can't stand Eugene's chattering and leaves. She goes on walks with Enid, who smartly avoids talking about you, and sometimes subjects herself to Xavier's monologuing and brooding in his art studio.
Wednesday fills the days with various activities while simultaneously avoiding areas you'd be in. It's not that she's afraid of seeing you, but simply that she doesn't want to.
This is fine.
The day has come to an end, and the sun has long gone from the sky. Wednesday decides to return to her room and play the cello before bed.
This is for the best.
Wednesday focuses her thoughts on her cello and what she'll play, and perhaps Thing will be there to turn the pages for her.
It is meant to be this way.
The room is dark when she enters, and Wednesday knows Enid is not around. There's a small feeling of relief that she doesn't need to face her roommate right now.
The silence in the room feels jilting in a way Wednesday's not used to. She used to be content in the quiet...until you. Then she grew used to your presence and soft chatter around this hour.
Wednesday clenches her fists.
Good riddance.
You were a mistake, and you did her a favor by cutting ties. This was something Wednesday should've done herself a long time ago.
Thing greets her on her bed, and she acknowledges him with a nod. She shreds off her backpack and changes out of her uniform before grabbing her cello and heading out onto the balcony.
The scuttling footsteps behind Wednesday tell her that Thing is quickly following.
"Bring me the new music sheet to play," Wednesday directs. She needs to play something different that would require her focus instead of her usual repertoire, which would allow her mind to drift.
Wednesday starts playing immediately, eyes focusing on the notes she's playing while Thing diligently flips the pages for her.
This is good.
This keeps her mind focused and sharp. Wednesday doesn't have time to think about anything else when she has to focus on what note she'll be playing next.
Despite the new piece, though, Wednesday's mind begins to drift. She has to make a conscious effort to keep her focus on the music sheet in front of her, but you pop up in her mind interspersedly.
"Wednesday, I don't know you—at least not anymore."
Her fingers falter, her cello emitting a jagged sound from her mistake. It's so unbelievably frustrating. She hasn't ever made a mistake while playing her cello since she first started learning it as a child. Years and years have gone by without a single mistake, and it was all ruined because of you.
You plague her like a disease that festers under her skin. Wednesday's done her best to ignore you for days now. She's been ignoring the sight of you, the talks of you, and everything down to the thought of you.
Yet, you were still there, underneath everything. You simmer like a slow boiling kettle until you can't be ignored anymore.
Wednesday closes her eyes frustratingly, willing you to leave her mind. She threatens her brain to erase the thought of you. It'd clearly be so much easier to forget you. After all, look how simply you live now without a memory of Wednesday.
But you don't go away. The memories remain with Wednesday, torturing her for what will likely be the rest of her life.
This was not a form of torture Wednesday ever thought she'd have to endure.
Wednesday opens her eyes and stands abruptly as she walks back inside. She didn't bother turning on the lights, and the only thing illuminating the room was the moonlight shining through the balcony.
"I don't feel that way about you anymore."
Wednesday clenches her jaw and tightens her grip on her cello.
How entirely damning.
Suddenly, a white-hot ball of rage forms in Wednesday's chest; everything she's been trying to push down for the last few days spills over. Emotions run a rampage inside her, unable to be controlled and ignored any longer.
Wednesday lifts her cello before violently smashing it into the floor, the body of it breaking in an uneven half, wood splitting into multiple pieces. The tailpiece cracks, and the strings snap, one of them into Wednesday's hand and cutting it.
The rage and adrenaline in her body don't allow the pain to register, even if she can see the blood.
How could you forget?
Wednesday begins destroying other parts of her side of the room—her bed, her clothes, her books. She pushes her wardrobe over and knocks over the chair at her desk, the loud banging ringing in her ears but not loud enough to cover the pain in her chest.
Thing scuttles back and forth in worry, but he cannot do anything to help his friend. He immediately leaves out the door with a mission.
How could you not want to fall in love with her again?
Wednesday pushes her typewriter off her desk—she thrashes everything off her desk. Her beloved typewriter crashes into the floor, the carriage breaking off along with other various parts. Keys pop off, making a ruckus on the floor as they hit it, but it doesn't bring any relief.
None of this is.
Wednesday pulls open the drawer, grabs out her manuscript, and looks at the last few pages she's written. Viper falls in love with someone who helps her with her investigations, and Wednesday has written up to the part where Viper begrudgingly accepts that fact she has feelings for this person and accepts their confession.
Wednesday has never gotten rid of any parts of her work all these years. Sure, she's done revisions and draft editing, but every scene down to its core idea has never been removed. Wednesday is a stern believer that every scene is meant to happen, and she cannot change the course of her writing when she looks back.
But Wednesday begins to shred multiple pages. She shreds page after page but doesn't know when to stop. Should she stop before Viper gets involved with this person?
Along with the anger settles in hollowness.
It's the realization that even if Wednesday destroys these pages, she can't really undo the fact that Viper has met someone and fallen in love with them.
How could you leave Wednesday to remember everything alone?
Wednesday hears the door open, but she doesn't turn around.
"Wednesday?" Enid's voice is soft and unsure, full of concern.
Wednesday doesn't answer.
Enid steps further into the room, shutting the door behind her as she looks around. The room is a mess with so many broken items on the floor, but her side remains untouched, nearly down to the tape they removed ages ago.
Enid is careful as she makes her way to Wednesday, the girl's shoulder tense with obvious rage. But even so, Enid knows her roommate would never hurt her. So, she places a hand on her roommate's shoulder when she's next to Wednesday.
"Wednesday—"
Wednesday is quick to whip around and look at Enid with violently accusing eyes. "This is your fault," Wednesday spits out. "I wouldn't be feeling this—this loneliness if you haven't been spurring lies to me about love." The tone is filled with disgust at the last word.
Wednesday has never expressed any ounce of emotion that would allow her to scream at someone, but she wants to scream at Enid and can't. Even if she wanted to, her throat feels so raw with something Wednesday can only detect is the urge to cry.
But even if Wednesday threatens her body to refrain from crying, the salty water spills from her eyes without permission. The spill and spill, even if Wednesday doesn't make a single sound.
Enid doesn't care if Wednesday punches, stabs, or even kills her—she pulls Wednesday into a bone-crushing hug. Her roommate resists at first, pushing against Enid, but it's useless against her werewolf strength. Enid holds on, even as Wednesday's pushing turns into desperate clinging.
Wednesday's tears are hot, and Enid knows logically tears are always hot, but she finds herself surprised they are. It's just another sign her roommate is all too human too.
"It's okay, Wednesday, I swear," Enid whispers, rubbing Wednesday's back in soothing circles, even caressing her messy braids.
There's no heaving or loud sobbing, as that would be too much for the somber girl. Even so, Enid can feel the tears soak her neck and dampen her shoulder.
"It's not," Wednesday's voice is so raw, as if the girl had been violently sobbing. She clutches at Enid's back, her eyes blankly staring at the mess she's made of her room. Everything is out of place or broken.
It shouldn't be Enid here, but the person Wednesday wants will never show up.
"I don't have anyone anymore."

Rowaelin x f!Reader
Summary: Rowan and Aelin notice you slipping away from them, and struggle to figuring out how to bring you back
Warnings: depression, negative self talk
Word Count: 1306
A/N: thank you for the request!
Tumblr media
“I’m fine,” you insisted, turning back to your book. It was interesting, it was different, it wasn’t this, it wasn’t reality. In between these pages, you could escape to another universe where your problems and realities didn’t exist.
Aelin sighed, she’d been attempting to get you to talk about what ‘was happening.’ There was nothing. It was nothing. You are nothing, a voice, eerily like your own, said in the back of your mind.
That’s the truth of the matter, wasn’t it? You didn’t matter. Nothing fucking did. How would you explain that to the two people who love you more than anything else in the world? How the weight on your chest felt so heavy you couldn’t breathe but at the same time you existed in a state of nothingness where not even the brightest light could reach? You’d battled it since childhood, and although you hadn’t lost yet, there was still so much you missed every day. It doesn’t matter, you reminded yourself, I don’t care.
“Please,” Aelin caught your attention with a gentle hand on your knee. Eyes blinking back into focus, she was ... Aelin was pleading on her knees with you, her hands squeezing each of your knees. “Tell me where you go when you do that. Let me in.”
When you do what? Space out, you supposed. Pressing your lips tightly together, you debated. The hope in Aelin’s eyes at your pause broke part of you. You couldn’t do it to someone you loved, couldn’t let them in and get a taste of that all consuming despair that threatened to invade and poison all of your surroundings. Just on your own, you felt like the last block of a crumbling barricade against the rushing tide. Eventually, it would overflow but for now you’d do your best to hold it back.
“Let us in,” Rowan knelt behind her, his own arm reaching over to brush against your shoulder. “Please,” he repeated her word.
You turned your head away, “I said it’s nothing,” the phrasing had a tad more bite than you intended. They didn’t deserve to be saddled with your inconsequential issues, no matter how much they asked for it. You could handle it on your own, you’d been handling it for years.
Are you really, thought? The voice said.
“Then come to breakfast with us. I’ll make sure your favorites are there,” Aelin tried, her voice shaking slightly. You thought you heard her tears. You didn’t look. Couldn’t look.
“Alright,” you whispered, a soft agreement, knowing you had to give them something or they wouldn’t leave you to your own devices.
“Alright,” Aelin breathed as if it was a sacred vow, and you hated the relief in her voice.
It started with the small things. It always did. One missed dinner, nobody remarked on it. Two missed dinners, nobody batted an eye. Three, inquiries about your absence. Four, someone went to look for you.
Aelin found you sleeping, decided not to disturb you, and made excuses for your absence, that you were ill, not feeling well, overworked.
It went on like this for months, them making excuses for why you never showed up to meals anymore.
You never needed an excuse for work, no you were high functioning, and always took care to show up to any mandatory obligations that could have negative professional consequences.
You thought you had it under control. Really, you were spiraling so far down into a dark place it would take the hottest sun to drag you out of it.
The next morning, you couldn’t get off the couch. They didn’t ‘wake’ you - you were a master at faking sleep - when they snuck past to go to training, maybe they should have. That invisible weight pushed you back two inches for each inch you moved forward, and eventually you gave up. When they came to get you, you feigned sleep.
It was impossible to hide your insomnia from them, and you knew they wouldn’t interrupt what precious sleep you could get. Often they’d wake to find you asleep in strange places throughout the room, despite starting out in the bed with them.
That afternoon, Rowan brought a healer.
“Just figure out what’s wrong,” he said.
‘Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.’ the word echoed like a horrible melody in your mind.
The healer took your vitals, asked how often you ate, exercised, went outside, how your mood was, if you felt depressed, and a thousand other questions you answered in a monotone voice.
Maybe you should’ve been honest, but you didn’t want to worry anyone unnecessarily and with Rowan hovering in the corner, you felt you couldn’t really tell them.
“Your Highness, could you please step out of the room?” The healer asked pleasantly, patting you on the knee. She was older, you could tell even with the Fae’s gift of eternal youth. Slight lines showed in her forehead and around the corners of her eyes. Signs of a happy life.
Rowan, begrudgingly, left after you mouthed it was fine.
“Now dearie,” for some reason her voice was soothing rather than irritating, usually you didn’t like names like that, “you can answer my questions honestly. Anything you say won’t go back to them, it’ll stay right between us and we’ll figure it out together.”
You looked at her, really looked at her and studied her expression. Unwavering. She didn’t flinch at your unabashed stare, didn’t turn away, didn’t so much as twitch. Like she’d been doing this and dealing with these types of situations for centuries. It gave you some hope.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“Here’s a start, perhaps there’s nothing wrong with you, just different,” her eyes lightened slightly. Perhaps she felt the weight of an order from her King. Or she genuinely wanted to help you. You didn’t know which thought was you and which was the darkness living inside of you.
The conversation felt like a steady push and pull, a battle of wills between you and the healer. At the end, the two of you came up with a plan. One small change. Get outside at least once a day, no matter the time of day or if it was just strolling onto your balcony.
The healer, Elka, was trained as a mind healer too. You felt slightly tricked when she revealed that at the end.
The people who loved you most thought you were insane. But you supposed the normal healers hadn’t turned up anything and you couldn’t blame them for trying, it was something you would do after all.
Despite your high hopes after the first session, progress was slow and you felt yourself almost worsening.
You learned how to portray to the world that you felt alright, but in private ...
The last thing you wanted was to wake them, especially when they had busy and important things to do in the morning. In other words, the last thing you wanted was to burden them. You made your way to the old rooms you used back when you first moved into the castle, and shook the dust off one of the pillows.
Sliding under the soft slightly stagnant comforter, you curled on your side and hugged your knees to your chest.
For the first time in months, the true weight of your self-imposed isolation crashed down on you and you tasted the salt of a tear hitting your upper lip.
You were woken before six in the morning to a slightly angry Fae storming into your room.
“This is where I draw the line,” he pulled back the comforter and shifted you into his arms, bridal style. “You can sleep in our fucking bathtub if you can fall asleep there,” he pressed a surprisingly gentle kiss to your forehead, “but I’ll be damned if you sleep in another room again.”

why are we acting like it's such a crazy idea that the Elucien mating bond is fake/wrong or that Elain might have 2 bonds??
Evidence:
Elain& Lucien literally don't act like any other mates we have seen in ACOTAR. They avoid each other like 99% of the time (by choice). And no, I'm sorry, but shrinking away from Lucien and flat out leaving the room when he's there is NOT the same as Feyre throwing a shoe at Rhys and Nesta kicking Cassian in the balls. There's a thin line between love and hate, but there's an ocean of indifference. Feyre & Nesta were not *uncomfortable* around Rhys & Cassian. Elain is uncomfortable around Lucien. Feyre/Nesta could not stay away from their mates- literally Nesta avoided Cassian for a grand total of 30 pages maybe. Elucien vs Feysand/Nessian is NOT the same.
SJM has already written a pairing where both people were "given to another", thought to have a mating bond with someone else that turned out to be fake. Then they ended up being "true mates" i.e. this isn't something Elriels just made up. SJM has literally done it before with Rowan & Aelin. She didn't care much for being a "fated mates" author when she broke up Rowan and Lydia, did she?
Feyre questions the bond between Elucien twice. She even suggests "Why not make them mates" in regards to Azriel & Elain. Let me be crystal clear when I say this: Feyre saw Nesta hissing and spitting at Cassian for 3 books before they got together and not once did Feyre ever question the Nessian bond. Sure she didn't *know* for sure they were mates, but I'm sure she suspected enough. She did not once hesitate to leave Cassian with Nesta.
In the ACOTAR world, SJM has made it clear not all mates were love matches. If every "fated mates" couple was meant to be an eternal, beautiful bond of love - then why did she write Rhys's & Tamlin's parents as being mates that despised each other? If every single mating bond in the. ACOTAR universe was happily mated and in love, then I wouldn't be arguing against the Elucien bond. But they're not. If SJM believed that all fated mates are living in happily ever after - why did she write about the cauldron not pairing people up for love but for powerful offspring? Why did she write about Rhys & Tamlin's parents? You can't say SJM is a fated mates author and all fated mates end up happy and in love if that is not the case, even in the same series.
SJM has tweeted back in like 2017 about how it's possible for someone to have two mates
It's literally all there in the text. No deep analysis needed, no "omg I think this shadow over this leaf means that Elain and azriel are foreshadowed" crazy reaches. simply picking up what SJM has already put down. She is painstakingly building Elriel brick by brick in the background, and if you don't realize it until the house is built, that's on you bestie. Not Elriels. Not SJM.

Hi! I saw you wanted some Xavier requests.
So here I am with an idea 💡
So basically the reader helps Wednesday investigating and they get to Xavier's shed. He found them and Wednesday comes up with the excuse that the reader wanted to ask him to the Rave'n. A detail is... the reader "hates" him a lot😜🤘
Hope you like the idea. I haven't seen it done yet..🤷🏻‍♀️😂
hardest to love
xavier x fem!addams!reader
summary: after wednesday drags you to xavier’s art shed, you accidentally end up with a date to the rave’n.
warnings: enemies to lovers 🤭, swearing, fluff ending
i made this addams!reader because i thought it fit perfectly, no physical descriptions used tho!
AHHHH I LOVED WRITING THIS I HOPE ITS GOOD
Tumblr media
“i cannot believe you dragged me out here.” you rolled your eyes, leaves crunching under your boots.
wednesday had practically begged you to come to xavier’s art shed with her. she insisted he had some sort of connection with the monster she was hunting.
“quit your complaining, it’s giving me a headache. and not the good kind.”
she had picked the lock to the shed and opened the door. you followed after her, seeing hundreds of drawings hung around the room.
“i told you.” wednesday exclaimed, showing off the illustrations of the same monster over and over again, the one wednesday claimed to see the night rowan died.
“this doesn’t make any sense-“
“i think it makes perfect sense. xavier and rowan were roommates, xavier was there the night rowan was attacked.”
as much as you didn’t like xavier, you also didn’t like how wednesday would go around throwing accusations.
you and xavier had immediately got off on the wrong foot. ever since the first day of school, he accidentally made a comment you didn’t like.
the dislike just grew the more he tried to hang around wednesday. you wanted to keep your family safe, much to wednesday’s dismay.
wednesday started gathering some of the drawings to use for evidence. “put them back, wednesday-“
“no. i need these.”
you and wednesday started bickering. all of a sudden, you heard leaves start crunching. “we need to leave.”
you exited the shed and wednesday followed after you. you two tried to silently walk away, but the stupid leaves made it almost impossible.
who the hell makes an art shed in the middle of the woods?
“y/n? wednesday?” xavier called out after you.
the two of you turned around almost instantly. wednesday stuck the drawings behind her back as she pursed her lips.
your stomach flipped with nerves. xavier approached you both suspiciously.
“what are you guys doing here?” he asked.
you were about to speak when wednesday blurted out, “y/n wanted to ask you something.”
“huh?” you said confused, wednesday kicking your leg.
xavier’s eyebrows furrowed at you two.
“about the dance…” wednesday trailed off. it was very difficult for her to hide her amusement at the look on your face.
“right…” you rolled your eyes.
“oh?” xavier smirked.
while you didn’t like xavier, the feeling was one sided. he had tried to apologize multiple times to you, but you never listened.
“are you really going to make me say it?” you asked through gritted teeth, heart pounding in your chest. your hands were shaking.
“oh, absolutely.” xavier grinned.
“w-“ you started. the words just didn’t want to come out of your mouth.
“will…”
“take your time.” wednesday whispered loudly. xavier laughed and you wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
“will… y-you… go tothedancewithme?”
you rushed the last part out. you felt like you were going to faint as xavier looked you directly in the eyes.
“i’m sorry, could you repeat that?” xavier teased.
“i’m not repeating it.” you replied in a hostile yet embarrassed tone. your face was extremely hot.
“yes. i thought you’d never ask.”
“neither did i.” you mumbled to yourself.
➽─────────────────❥
you were beyond pissed at wednesday. pissed was an understatement.
“i cannot believe you made me ask! don’t you ever think, wednesday?” you were pacing around your room.
your normal calm nature was completely rattled.
but you weren’t the only one rattled.
xavier couldn’t believe you had asked him to the rave’n. ajax sat on xavier’s bed as xavier paced back and forth.
“i mean- why would she ask me?”
“maybe she secretly likes you, dude.” ajax replied.
xavier kept rambling on about your behavior and how sudden it was.
you were doing the same to wednesday. she was miserable as she wrote her novel.
“as much as i love to hear you in pain, could you please be quiet?”
“no! this is your fault, all because you’re obsessed with some stupid monster.”
“and you’re not obsessed with the idea of xavier thorpe taking you to the rave’n? hmm? don’t even lie, y/n. i see you stare at him in class. your cold demeanor will soon drop.”
➽─────────────────❥
you dreaded the day until the rave’n. what didn’t help, was thing insisted you wear a black gown to stand out.
“why am i even going?” you sighed. you sat on your bed with your head in your hand, staring down at the gorgeous black silk.
thing had even stolen a matching pair of black heels.
“i invited tyler to go with wednesday.” thing signed to you. immediately your mood changed knowing wednesday would be as miserable as you.
thing quickly signed to you to get dressed. you groaned, grabbing the gown and shoes. thing turned around as you slid the silk up your soft legs, a mid-cut v neckline that showed just the slightest cleavage.
you looked in the mirror and couldn’t even deny how good you looked.
thing then motioned for you to sit down. thing then proceeded to fix up your hair and gave you a nice necklace.
“thank you, thing.” you gave the hand a little kiss. thing signed, don’t mention it.
and there was a knock on the door. all the weight of the world just crashed down on you within two seconds.
“shit, shit, shit.” you swore as thing went over to open the door.
you spun around nervously and tried to find a place to hide. “woah.”
you pursed your lips as you turned around slowly. xavier, dressed in all white, looked at you in awe. he was holding a corsage.
“you look-“
“thanks.” you nervously held your hand out and he slipped the corsage on. you couldn’t help but notice his own shaking hands.
you shut the door behind you both. there was an awkward silence as xavier struggled to find something to talk about.
meanwhile, you were struggling to walk in your heels. “you okay?”
xavier motioned to your awkward walk.
“heels are the worst. they torture your feet, and not in a fun way.”
xavier smiled at you, offering his arm.
you hesitantly accepted. when his warm arm met your cold one you both swore some sort of electricity went off.
the walk through the quad was almost embarrassing. the weird looks everyone gave you as you walked with xavier.
it only got worse when you walked into the dance. “you guys look amazing!” ms thornhill complimented.
xavier thanked her, sensing your uncomfortable stature and brought you off to the side.
“do you see wednesday?” you asked him over the loud music.
you needed to talk to her.
“is that-“ xavier nodded towards where wednesday stood awkwardly with tyler.
you left xavier without a second word, striding over to wednesday. her blank gaze met you and she walked away from tyler to meet you in the dance floor.
“this is worse than a wedding.” wednesday said in disgust.
“i see thing got you back for what you did to me.” you motioned over to tyler, dressed in all white, standing there watching you two.
“thing was out to humiliate me. i at least saved us.”
you blinked at wednesday.
“someone misses you…” she motioned over to xavier looking at you like a sad puppy. he was talking to ajax, but his eyes never left yours.
“i guess we should get back to our dates.” you sighed.
“unfortunately.” wednesday agreed.
➽─────────────────❥
goo goo muck played loudly from the speaker.
you watched as wednesday did her dance with tyler, not even noticing your own body began to sway with the beat.
“wanna dance?” xavier asked.
you stared at him before nodding slowly.
if wednesday was dancing, you can dance too, right?
your body moved with the beat, the crowd forcing you and xavier tightly together.
it was freaky how close you two were. he moved his shoulders to the beat, eyes looking straight into yours as you did the same.
unbeknownst to you, everyone could feel the sexual tension between you too.
xavier’s body language quickly met yours and before you knew it, you danced together in a rhythm that surely anyone in a two feet radius could sense.
your face was mere inches from his, hands brushing against each other as you moved.
and you couldn’t even deny how good xavier looked. under the strobe lights, his hair slicked back into a bun, his white suit.
and before you could realize it, your lips were centimeters away. his lips slightly grazed yours, his big hand coming up to cup your jaw.
but as soon as xavier was about to connect your lips, the sprinklers started to go off releasing red substance everywhere.
“what the hell?” xavier groaned, the liquid getting all over his suit and face.
you stuck your finger into your mouth, xavier watching you in shock.
“paint.”
people screamed as they slipped onto the wooden floor. everyone made a run to the doors, the night ruined.
but for xavier, the only thing that was ruined was the fact he almost kissed you.
“let’s get outta here, yeah?”
you nodded at xavier as you held onto his arm once more. he led the two of you outside and into the quad where nevermore students stood upset.
“i have a spot where we can clean the paint up.”
➽─────────────────❥
xavier took you back to his art shed. the drawings and paintings you previously saw with wednesday were now gone.
you stood silently, watching xavier wipe the paint off his face and neck.
he removed his suit jacket, leaving him in his white button up and pants. the buttons to his shirt were slightly undone, leaving some of his chest exposed.
“you know, i never got to ask. why did you hate me so much?”
xavier was now staring at you. you felt nervous under his gaze.
“it wasn’t hate. it was dislike. i did not like the comment you made about my family in the beginning of the year.”
“it wasn’t meant to come out that way, y/n.”
“but it did. it did to me.”
xavier walked up to you. his piercing blue eyes stared directly into yours. you felt chills run down your body.
“i’m sorry.”
and you could tell he meant it. you’d never seen such a sincere look in someones eyes before.
“can i?” he motioned to the clean rag he lifted slightly above your face.
you nodded hesitantly.
xavier carefully ran the rag along your cheeks, nose, and forehead.
he stopped when he got to your lips, a strange look in his eye.
seeing the way he looked at you made you realize that everything was just one sided.
and with that realization, you grabbed xavier’s waist and pulled him into you.
xavier immediately kissed you, dropping the rag as he cupped your face.
you’d never experienced such passion, let alone in a kiss.
the electricity you seemed to feel appeared to get stronger, and maybe a couple sparks would fly.
but that didn’t matter, because xavier had finally got you. and you finally got what you never realized you needed.

could you write a little something about Rowan x reader where reader is Lorcan’s little sister
It’s been a hot minute since we stepped into tog’s universe…
Part II
The light we cannot see
You were the only source of light in life that Lorcan had. He had given up on life, on the right thing, on the fact that there could be good things gracing this land. But every time the last drop of light was threatened to be snuffed out, you brought it back. You held onto it with both hands. Your love was what kept him fighting. What kept him getting out of bed. His little dark-haired sister. A promise of danger with the kindness of heart.
“Anyone’s up for seconds?”, your voice fills the side dining room, pot slung on your hip as you strolled in. Maeve as much as she used them wasn’t the dine-with-me type so even her closest ate away from her chambers. “When they are coming from your hands, always”, Fenrys chirped, “I would eat poison from you”, he throws you a wink as you scoop another portion of stew into his bowl while rolling your eyes. “Careful, dreams come true”, Lorcan grunted, eyes fixed on the white wolf. Whose purpose in life seemed to be pissing Lorcan off. “I can shove it down your throat”, the table grew still, the threats didn’t surprise anyone by now but Lorcan’s sharp tone still made everyone halt. “Just joking, man. Y/n tell him that I’ve been behaving”, Fenrys pleaded making you chuckle, “I don’t know, have you?” The table echoed with laughter. “Don’t push me into the flames, love”, the white wolf clenched at his heart before turning his attention back to his food. But it was your hand that Lorcan’s eyes fell on. How it lingered on Rowan’s shoulders as you walked past him. How Rowan looked up. A strange sort of longing burning in his gaze. Lorcan lowered his spoon. Assessing eyes drinking you both in. And here it was the quickly shared looks, the slight nods. It couldn’t possibly be…
The rules applied to everyone. No one could come close to you. He wouldn’t allow it. They were all murderers. All were chained to a sadist who was willing and ready to do anything to break them. You were already hung up in front of him. You were already in danger because you shared blood with him and Lorcan hated himself for it. But to add another target on your back. To chain you to another person. To give her a reason to flung you around like a makeshift weapon. No, he wasn’t gonna allow it.
“You know you might just stare straight through the door if you keep glaring at it so hard”, Gabriel’s voice filled Lorcan’s ears as he blinked. He hadn’t even realized that he had zoned out. That you had left the room. “Have you…”, he cuts himself off, debating slightly as if he could voice his inner monologue, “Have you seen anything suspicious lately?” The older male shoots the darkness wielder a look. “As in threats in the city? No, it’s been calm down there”, Gavriel dabs at his lips with a napkin. Lorcan shakes his head, “Here, in the house. Have you noticed things… shifting”. “Lorcan be straight with it”, Gavriel states firmly, “You train Y/n, have you noticed anything strange”, he’s not sure why he stirs the conversation there but that’s where his mind takes him, and now that he’s grasping at nothing, he can use any detail.
“I wouldn’t be able to tell you”, the lion shrugs, making Lorcan shoot him a look of his own. “Maeve, shifting my guard times, Rowan is training with Y/n now. From what I’ve heard it’s going great”, he says it so casually as if he doesn’t seem to grasp the importance of the information he just shared. Not to mention that with everyone still being mid-meal Rowan gets up, waffling something about refilling the wine jugs. “I bet it is”, Lorcan watches him leave, “I bet it’s going wonderfully”, clamping his jaw he manages to take five breaths before he’s pushing his chair back.
A big part of him is hoping he would see just that. Just Rowan filling up the jugs. With you far away from him. He thinks about striding in. Making a big scene. But he halts, turning to the side pantry instead. Cracking the door ajar ever so slightly. “I can’t stay for long, too many men in the main hall”, Rowan mutters, brushing a strand of your black hair away and off your shoulders. “I was promised a night together”, you muse crossing your arms over your chest. “And I will keep my promise. Have I given you reason to doubt my promises before”, Rowan steps forward, a smile on his face. Your hands snake around his neck as you pull him in closer. “Maybe I need a reminder”, you hum, the mischievous eyes gleaming. “Is that so?”, Rowan tries to hide his smirk as he leans closer, “Let me remind you then”.
But his lips never meet yours and when you open your eyes it’s to him being pushed to the other side of the kitchen. “Lorcan”, you rasp out, moving to get closer to your older brother. Who had smashed a jug on his way, its shard now pressing against Rowan’s throat. “You lying filthy bastard”, he grits through his teeth, “The silent pig does dig the sweetest of crops, doesn’t it”. But Rowan’s gaze doesn’t falter. “Lor, I can explain”, you tug at his arm, “This doesn’t have to be this way”, you plead.
“What happened to us not having secrets, hmm?”, his angry gaze crashes into you. “I was gonna tell you”, you whine, “I was, I just didn’t want…”, “When”, he cuts you off, “Tell me when? when he screwed you pregnant and left you by some in to venture for yourself?”, his words make you stagger back. You can see the regret painting his features. But it was too late the words had met their mark. “Yn”, Lorcan breathes out, pushing off Rowan as he turns to you. You shake him off, moving across the kitchen. “I didn’t…”, “Save it. I heard you loud and clear”, you bite back, “I’m honored that you think so highly of your family”, you pull your apron off, throwing it on the table before yanking the patio door open. “Nice one”, Rowan chuckles bitterly from behind him, “You know, for someone who swore to protect her, you’re doing mighty shit work”. The males come face to face. And for the first time in a while, Lorcan realizes that maybe he doesn’t know the soldier fighting alongside him. “I should crush you beneath my feet”, Lorcan growls. “By all means”, Rowan is quick to stand even taller, “Just then you might find yourself utterly lonely in this bleak world”. His words jab Lorcan harder than any blade could. “Now if you excuse me, I have a crying partner to console, her brother is a jackass”, and with that he’s pushing past Lorcan, hitting his shoulder as he moves forward. Leaving Lorcan to stand on his own.

。❅*⋆⍋*。*⍋⋆*❅。
“It’s so early... not even the sun is awake... why do I hate myself...” A sob threatened to spill past your lips as you numbly walked outside. The cold air was bullying you into tears as it stung your face and hands.
6 am. 6 am. Who was even up this early, especially on a cold day like this-
Oh yes. That would be you.
The city streets were painted in gold from the streetlights and the remaining leaves that were still clinging on for dear life, ignoring the snow that sprinkled the ground with all their might. It was as though the city had been tucked under a large white blanket overnight, a blanket made of glistening diamonds that reflected the warm lights from all around. Truth be told it was beautiful to look at… just not when you have to be awake and freezing. While some would find this scene breathtakingly beautiful you, on the other hand, craved a flamethrower to tear it all down and seek vengeance for your poor skin.
Just goes to show how important proper sleep and caffeine are to begin the day. It could make the difference between waking up with a smile or beginning your villain arc.
Your whole apartment was packed and loaded into the new large SUV, a surprise that came last week with Jackson. You knew you had obtained Takoda’s vehicle but it was surprising that it was brand new and could hold up to 8 individuals. Takoda lived alone with no marriages nor children… So why the large vehicle? Why purchase this large car along with the house? You didn’t miss the confusion on Jackson’s face when he handed you the keys, a hushed comment of ‘When did he even buy this?’ didn’t go past you. It only added to the suspicion of your uncle’s death.
What was Takoda planning?
Unfortunately the city left you with dead ends: the Spades family was a family full of successful lawyers, all ranging from medical to even real estate. They were the Eevees of lawyers, your family: one Spades for every type. The family slogan? ‘ Always have an ace of Spades up your sleeve!’ Every time you heard it your teeth would grind together, because for them it wasn’t about the person they were representing. No, never about their clients. It was about the money. And so trying to worm your way around and see what truly happened and what the other morticians wrote was impossible. Their loyalty (and mainly wallets) would be with your father. Rowan Spades. You were going to keep pushing however a small and short voicemail had you stopping dead in your tracks.
“Hi sweetie! Just checking in, Officer Lee mentioned you’ve been asking about your uncle’s case, and… oh hon, I know this mourning process is hard. Reach out if you need to talk! Be careful out there… snow and all!”
Lei Spades, the one person who, despite being shunned, still tried to help you. Perhaps it was because she was your mother. Or maybe she simply didn’t want Rowan to get upset.  She had met Rowan when she was young and naive, hell, she was still naive at times. At least you hoped she was. It would be worse for her to know how corrupt your father was and simply turn a blind eye because the money was just too good. But she had saved you a few times in the past from your fathers wrath. This being one of them. She would never call unless she had to. And the number was unknown, not her personal phone. A quick warning for her daughter to back away. And if Lei was the one giving the warning then you knew it was best to keep low… for now. But you did have one more place to look into…
The large home that you had yet to step into. The mysterious building that your new ‘assistant’ was hushed about. Any questions asked were either ignored or cut off with him changing the subject. The one that Jackson was supposed to drive you to later that day. You didn’t miss the urgency in his voice the previous week, the way his eyes were looking deep into your own. The moment was implanted in your mind, the goosebumps could still be felt...
“We will leave Friday at noon. Agreed?” He stood at your door, hands in his pocket as his eyes bore into you. The deep brown that was usually cool seemed to be ignited with a fire of sorts at the topic of the house. You noticed this each time you tried to ask questions or pry; the man was a vault and seemed uneasy.
Unfortunately that only ignited your own flame.
You managed to laugh a little, eyebrow raised. A small test to see how he would react... “Uh, sure? I mean if I’m already up I can always head on out early and meet you-” Your words were cut off as you jumped back when Jackson stepped closer. He crowded your space, face inches from your own as his hand grasped your shoulders. You tried to step back but your heel collided with a wall. His fingers gripped your shirt, however it wasn’t painful. The fire that was in his eyes had increased tenfold and you actually felt a small shiver of fear slide down your spine.
“Together. At. Noon.” His words were cool and flat, but you could hear the underlying tone. He was stressed about something. And while every alarm was going off in your head you managed to school your face, putting on a mask of frozen shock instead.
“N-noon… o-okay.” You managed to sound meek, the act working as Jackson gave you a small smile, hands squeezing your shoulders as he stepped back.
“Not a minute early nor late.” His eyes seemed to have cooled down at your words. His flickered up and down your body, something you noticed he did before leaving each visit. “Stay safe, Heiress.”
As soon as the door closed you leaned against the wall, sliding down while taking deep breaths. He failed the test, he was hiding something and you were going to figure it out. If he can keep secrets then so could you.
After that little show you had whipped out your phone and were quick to contact the Sanity Squad, the video call was between you and your three best friends. And they were in agreement: Jackson was hiding something and whatever it was, it was in the house. Of course the first topic was if you should all go together since the whole situation was bizarre.
Theories of him killing you were out the window seeing that he had nothing to gain and too many opportunities to do so. Oh, and Jessi proclaimed he was ‘too hot’ to be a serial killer. The next theory seemed more plausible: he knew some information on Takoda’s death and wanted to make sure you didn’t find any clues. But Jackson had a key to the house so again, that was a dead end. He could easily hide the evidence or destroy it.
Hours later, and a warning from your phone that the battery was going to die, you announced you would simply beat him there and see for yourself. It was your stance and no one could change your mind.
So here you are on this fine Friday morning, beating the sassy assistant by several hours, and hopping into a brand new vehicle. It was sleek and black, the interior dark with faux leather seats. A large touchpad illuminated the space and you were thankful it was able to self-drive. Although these types of cars are common many prefer the old fashioned way of driving and just doing it themselves. But with this tank? You preferred to let it do the work while you kicked back and watched.
You keyed in your first stop in the car’s GPS, feeling it slowly ease away from the building you had lived in for years. It was odd, knowing that you would never be back but at the same time it was a relief to be going to a place that had room to breathe. And no noisy neighbors to keep you up till the wee hours of the morning. Now that you would not miss, not one bit. But you would miss the cozy feel of the small space. It was bittersweet to see it fade behind you.
Ten minutes later and you were parked outside the small coffee shop, I Need Brew, a place you would frequent with your friends. It was hybrid friendly and a great place for many hybrids to begin working, gaining skills for later careers. Or some chose to stay and continue working for the beloved company. It was run by Bang Chan with his fox hybrid Felix being a manager; you knew the two well after frequenting the quaint shop. The fox adored your visits and would often slip you free goodies when Chan wasn’t looking.
Slipping inside you were greeted with warmth and the smell of fresh coffee and baked goods. The interior was designed to make everyone feel at ease and cozy, soft music playing in the background to help the customers gradually wake up without giving them a headache.
“Y/n? At this hour?”
You looked around, knowing the voice but not knowing where it came from, but then Felix peaked his head around the corner from the back. bright orange hair held specks of flour with his orange ears shooting up. His voice was light and somewhat shocked, but still held the adoration he had for you. In return you smiled and stepped further inside.
“I knew I smelt something sweet walking in,” His face broke into a wide smile.
You smiled back, walking towards the counter. “Yeah it’s a bit early for me… I’ve actually come to meet up with the group.”
“Again, at this hour? Do you know what time it is-?” A buzzing noise had the fox looking over his shoulder. “Go sit, I’ll grab you your favorites and be out in a minute.” He disappeared around back as you moved further into the shop, eyes already set on your usual table.
The past few years your group and yourself had always sat at the table located on the furthest wall, right by the counter and where the employees would mingle when waiting for customers. It was how you befriended so many of the employees, all of whom knew your favorite beverages and treats by heart. As you sat you heard the front door’s bell jingle as a blonde walked in, heading straight for your table.
“I’m surprised you actually woke up,” You grinned as Jessi sat in the chair across from you, snow flurries clinging to her winter coat. “You usually sleep through all your alarms.”
“And miss my best friend leaving to head to the woods alone? Not a chance,” Jessi gave you a grin but you could see the worry in it, leaning closer she asked, “Are you sure we can’t come along? What if something bad happens-?”
“Nothing bad is going to happen.” You waved her off, actually believing yourself. Despite the odd circumstances your instincts were letting you know that this wasn’t dangerous at all. It was more… interesting. “Besides we have that locator app, right? One click and you all know something is wrong and the police will be rushing to save me.” You could still see the doubt in her eyes as she listened.
“I think it’d be best to take one of us with you today… just for safety reasons.” Her arms crossed over her chest, leaning back and watching you. “Especially with all that is going on.”
You opened your mouth to protest once more however the familiar jingle of the bell alerted everyone of more customers. You could hear them before you could see them; quick footsteps headed towards you before arms encased your shoulders, a face buried in your neck as a soft vibration pressed against your back. Something soft and warm wrapped around your waist, tightening a fraction as a giggle reached your ears.
“Wooyoung, how do you have so much energy this morning?”
You glanced up to see Hongjoong taking a seat next to Jessi, the man looking exhausted with his iconic split black and white hair disheveled in a disastrous way.  His eyes were dead set on his hybrid Wooyoung who had wrapped himself around you, acting more snake than black panther. You could feel the cat’s purring increase, knowing those vibrant green eyes were focused on Hongjoong.
“Simple,” He nuzzled closer to you, feeling a grin on his face. “I have my Y/n here.”
You remember when Hongjoong first adopted Wooyoung, how the black panther quite literally tackled you and complimented on how nice you smelt and was overjoyed to know that you were best friends with his owner. In his eyes that meant you were part of the ‘extended pack’, along with Jessi, and got to be scented just as much as Hongjoong was. Which he ensured you both were drenched in his scent, looking quite proud of himself each time.
Reaching up you gently rubbed his head, scratching behind his ear just as he liked. You could feel how anxious he was, knowing you would be leaving, heading further away. It was an hour drive to get to the new home and his instincts weren’t liking having part of his pack be so far away.
“You can still sell it and live with us,” Wooyoung mumbled into your neck, his breath tickling a bit. “Hyung wouldn’t mind.”
“Aw, Woo, I won’t be so far away. Plus you can call whenever you want.” You received a pitiful whine from the male as he slowly let go of you, heading over to Jessi to scent her. It was hard to miss the droop of his ears, his last attempt at keeping you in the city gone. Although it tugged your heartstrings and almost made you want to change your mind, one look at Hongjoong and you knew he would be okay; the other male was smiling and shaking his head at the cat.
“I know I said a minute but everyone else showed up. And these just came out fresh from the oven!” Felix was quick to hand out four mugs and a plate of mini muffins with different flavors. Stepping back his eyes landed on you with a raised eyebrow. “So, you’re going to your new home alone in the woods? I’m sure Chan can go with you if you need someone…” His voice trailed off, his tail flicking along with Wooyoung’s. Seemed like he didn’t like the idea either, his animal instincts wary of your decisions. You were thankful you weren’t part of their intimate packs- you wouldn’t even get your foot out the door. Let alone be able to grab the doorknob.
“It’s quite alright, it’s a new home I inherited.” You once again waved off the help. “Nothing wrong with it.” The fox nodded at your words, tail flicking once again to show his displeasure.
“But if anything happens you have people here, okay? Don’t be afraid to ask us for help.” With a boop to your nose he went back to baking while the four of you settled with small talk for a brief moment. Ignoring the world outside while you had the time and just living in the moment.
Truth be told you had no idea how long it would before you got to see them once more. Pushing those thoughts aside you sipped your cup, smiling as Wooyoung took a seat next to you while Hongjoong and Jessi argued over a movie that just came out. As they argued Wooyoung shoved a gift bag in your lap, grinning over at you.
“Woo got you a gift, well, he helped make it.” Hongjoong dropped the argument quickly when he heard the the bag being opened. You opened the gift and pulled out a beautiful red scarf. “The python hybrid next door, San? He taught Wooyoung how to knit.” Hongjoong beamed at Wooyoung with pride while the panther watched you, waiting to see your reaction.
There was a tremble in your lips as you pulled the incredibly soft scarf out. “Woo…” Tears threatened to fall as you turned to the panther. you felt his tail wrap back around you, pulling you into his chest as his purrs started once again.
“It’s made with love from us!” He smiled. “That way we’re never too far away… don’t cry, Y/n!”
It was too late as a few tears fell, feeling Wooyoung pull you back into a hug that soon the others joined in with. “I have the best friends in the whole world.”
“Damn straight you do.” Jessi reached over, grabbing your hand with a grin.
“We love you too, Y/n.” Hongjoong placed his hand on top of Jessi’s, a soft smile on his face.
“You can still live with us- ” Wooyoung’s quick words were cut off with a whine when Hongjoong lightly wacked his arm. Pulling you closer to him, the panther let out the weakest growl you had ever heard. “In case she forgot, hyung not the ears!” You laughed as the growls turned into whines.
Little moments like this made it even harder to say goodbye.
。❅*⋆⍋*。*⍋⋆*❅。
It felt as though you were now living in a snow globe. Tall pines loomed all around, the roads were covered with inches of snow, all while snow flurries floated all around. The sun may have been hidden behind the clouds but the snow offered enough light to make up for it: everywhere you looked you had to squint from the jarring white canvas. You could feel the SUV cruise cautiously through the piles of snow and up the hills that were hidden from your eyes.
“GPS you better be taking me to the right place…” You mumbled, eyes straying warily to the trees that surrounded you. It felt as though you were encased in a sea of deep green and white; it never seemed to end no matter how far ahead you tried to look.
The estimated time of arrival said five minutes but you wanted to call bullshit on that. The tree’s were so dense, so dark, surely a home couldn’t be located here? Who even built this place? Crossing your arms you watched as the car slowly cruised forward, itching to get out and investigate the home in person. As well as text Jackson that you had left about seven that morning… though you were more happy to wait to send that message. More alone time for you to sneak around the place and it kept Jackson from scolding you a little longer.
“You have arrived!”
Your mouth opened, ready to yell ‘Liar!’ but it quickly closed when the car slowly took a turn and hidden was a house. Truth be told anyone could drive right by and miss it, the driveway being extremely narrow.
The home was snuggled amongst the tall pines, large and yet seemed to almost blend in with it’s surroundings and standout all at the same time. The house held a warmth and coziness to it and reminded you of the feeling of going back home after spending a long time away. It sat in a large clearing of the trees, and in the distance you could make out mountains that peaked to the sky. The early morning rays were just coming up, casting an ethereal glow all around. It was beautiful and you were frozen in your seat, watching the sun’s rays gently light up the clearing. A calling urged you to go inside, your heart was fluttering at the sight of it-
“You have arrived!”
The moment was ruined with the car clearly wanting you to get out now. Grumbling, you stepped out of the vehicle and snuggled further into the scarf Wooyoung gifted you. It was much colder out in the wilderness than in the city, the wind whipping around and nipping at your cheeks in a cruel way. Colder and quieter. You could hear your own deep breaths across the baron land of snow. You knew there was a peace to the quiet however being alone in a foreign place it was hard to find it anything short of eerie. The hairs on your arms were rising as you took a deep breath, quietly closing the car door to not disrupt the stillness around you.
The house lured you in with every step, your heartbeat quickening as the key was gripped between your fingers. Any normal person would be afraid, hell even terrified, if they were in your shoes. A family member was found dead with zero investigation done, trying to gain some answers only had your mother warning you to back off, and lastly a house no one knew of was left to you. An hour away from the city your family basically owned.
However you felt anything but fear. There was curiosity for sure and a yearning for discovering what could be hidden within the walls of this building. What could have Takoda been up to with purchasing this place? It looked new too, no physical wear and tear on the outside from the weather. You wondered what he was hiding… And there was something else too, something deep in you that wanted to run in the building. A call from somewhere inside that had anticipation swimming in your veins.
The key slid in with a soft click! The door slowly opening while your eyes were wide and surveying your new home. You were awaiting darkness to greet you; a home that has been sat for too long and was full of cobwebs and dust from the lack of visitors. A cold and dark home was what you were mentally prepared for especially since Jackson was only dropping your boxes off and then quickly returning to his job. However you were shocked at what awaited you.
The foyer was large and spacious, the walls were painted a neutral color and the floors were solid wood. To your left and right were spacious rooms that were rather empty, save for a large sectional couch in one of them with an insanely large flat screen mounted to the wall. There were tall and large windows throughout, letting in the natural sunlight and giving an airy and soft feel to the overall place. Not far from the door was a large staircase with quite a few steps, and you spotted some of your boxes placed randomly along each step.
Your eyebrows knit together as you stepped closer, noticing the boxes were opened. Some even appeared to be missing items, spotting a box that was full of blankets now only containing a single blanket. A frown tugged on your lips, wondering what Jackson had been up to… he wasn’t stealing from you… was he?
You crept up the stairs, spotting more and more of your boxes placed randomly along the steps. Books had been looked through, some missing; blankets were taken out of the box, one box even being completely empty. Finally making it to the top you felt your stomach knot as you found some of your clothes scattered around the large landing. Thankfully it was just shirts and hoodies, nothing too personal, but it still made your blood freeze.
Jackson was the only one who had the other key… right? No one else should have been there… What if your father found out and sent someone to spy? No, no professional would make it look this terrible. What if this was a warning for you? To leave? Fear shot down your spine as you followed the scattered clothes towards a pair of French doors at the very end of the landing.
Almost like a trail.
Your legs felt like lead as you moved closer, steps silent as you crept along, throat dry as a million thoughts and scenarios ran through your mind. What if someone broke in and was needing a place to stay? What if they were dangerous, a criminal on the run? Or a dangerous hybrid? If the intruder were human you stood a small chance. But if they were a hybrid, a being designed to outperform humans in many ways... and if they were a predator... the very thought had your limbs locking up.
Despite the fear that shook you to your core, there was the feeling again: you needed to be there. Something important was waiting for you in that house. An instinct that pushed you to keep moving, a need that fought against the fear that dwelled in you. As if you found this certain thing, you’d be safe. You’d be fine.
Perhaps you have lost your mind.
Standing before the doors you took a moment to gather yourself, gain some courage, and then you had the doors flying open. Body tense as your eyes scanned the entire area, prepared to face the intruder head on-
No one was inside. But what you saw had you shaking.
Your lips turned downwards at the sight before you, hand gripping the door to try to keep grounded. The room was large, a master bedroom that was fit for a family really. Like the rest of the home it was rather empty with the exception of the large bed, an Alaskan king, and your brain was fried trying to process why a bed that large was there and why all your belongings were all over the bed. You felt a chill roll down your spine as you stepped into the room carefully, mentally waiting for someone to jump out and attack you.
But again that other feeling, the part of you that you called insane, felt secure as well. Something about being in that room had you feeling at ease as well as afraid all at the same time. You felt nauseated with the mixed feelings swirling in your head.
All the blankets, clothes, and books that went missing were right there. A part of you wanted to grab your things and go through it all and see what was done to each item. But a larger part of you wanted to curl up in the warm blankets and hide away, ignore all the craziness that you were facing, and seize to exist. If only...
‘Come on, Y/n. Put on a brave face.’  You mentally scolded yourself for being weak; this was your home after all. Taking a deep breath you strolled into the bedroom with more confidence and was going to begin your investigation when the sound of a door closing echoed across the empty house.
‘Fuck the brave face.’ Your blood turned to ice, instincts taking over you flung yourself under the bed. You pressed your hand against your mouth, trying to calm your breathing as you waited and listened as well as you could. You closed your eyes, willing your ears to straining and hear anything. The silence was torture, not even footsteps could be heard. You wished you could at least hear where they were-
A low growl echoed against the walls of the staircase. An actual growl... an animal? You don’t recall leaving the door open, but perhaps you did when you noticed your belongings scattered about...
Did you accidentally let in a wild animal?
As you tried to decipher how the creature got in you heard heavy paws hitting the stairs, the growl low as it came closer and closer. Every step had your heart pounding in your chest and for a moment you wondered if you would die from a heart attack before being mauled by a beast. The thought died as soon as you realized that the paws had stopped somewhere near the landing.
Then, ever so slowly, you heard the paws approach the bedroom. The growl was coming closer and closer, your body nearly shaking as you squeezed your eyes shut tighter. The paws stopped at the bedroom entrance, the growl lower, more of a rumble now as it continued forward. It got closer and closer, the air feeling heavier with each passing second. The rumbling was now right in front of you.
Swallowing the lump in your throat you slowly opened your eyes.
A cloud of browns, blacks, blondes, and silvers invaded your vision at first. Fur that was so thick and long you felt an urge to reach out touch it, knowing it must have been so warm and soft. But you remained frozen as a pair of eyes, lilac- no... gold? You could have sworn they were lilac for a moment but now they were a brilliant gold, stared you down. Eternity could have passed and you wouldn’t have known, not while the canine was intensely watching your every breath. A moment of silence, a moment of stillness-
It lunged and you screamed, your throat immediately burning from the raw strength behind it. Faster than you thought possible you managed to leave your hiding spot just as the large beast arrived. Your feet were moving too fast for you to keep up, heart leaping up your throat as grunts and whines followed you. When you heard those heavy paws hitting the floor you cried out again, the staircase right there.
You believed you could easily dash down the stairs and into the car. You’d be safe there and maybe you could easily call for help. For a brief moment you wished you had waited for Jackson. At least you could trip the man and give yourself some extra time to escape... unless he did it first, which you knew he would.
However fate was a cruel mistress to you today; wet shoes slid against the wooden floor, propelling you face first down the steps. Your voice was stuck in your throat as you sharply inhaled and braced yourself for impact. You felt something solid, but it wasn’t wood. It was... warm and inviting...
Two arms snaked around you, pulling you closer and easily catching you from the fall. Your feet were dangling off the floor with your cheek pressed against something solid that held a low vibration. Whoever this was was strong enough to hold you carefully around the waist with ease and you stiffened as your realized you weren’t alone with just that canine anymore.
“Relax Beautiful,” The voice was right in your ear, a murmur to help ease you. The voice was soothing to hear and you obeyed immediately as if it were natural to trust a stranger like this. The logical part of your brain was screaming at you to break free and run. But there was another part of your brain, something instinctual, that wanted nothing more than to obey. That there was safety and comfort within these arms that would shield you from the whole world...
The voice let out a soft hum, pleased as you listened without a fuss. The arms were still tight as something soft traced your neck, the vibrations increasing before stopping all at once. “My, my, Beautiful. it’s no wonder he was upset, smelling the way you do.” Their tone became deeper, displeasure stirring just underneath the words. Something in you nearly whined- as if you couldn’t stand the thought of displeasing the stranger. Thankfully the logical side of your brain kicked into action.
You snapped out of the trance you were in and physically flailed yourself away. You could tell the stranger was surprised by your sudden outburst and used it to stumble back, feeling your heel collide with a step, causing you to fall and land on it with your butt. Your nearly fall had thrusted you forward, passing the first flight of stairs and nearly onto the midlevel landing. Which was where a new figure was now peering down at you.
A handsome man with beautiful features stood before you, bright blue eyes watching your every move with plump lips forming a soft smile. His hair was jet black and on top was a set of fuzzy black ears. Something swayed out of the corner of your eye and you saw a fluffy tail that had black fur with white underneath, the tip of the tail was also white. He wore dark denim jeans and a white tee, the letter’s DRF embroidered on the top left corner in crimson. A hybrid was in your new home-
A low growl was behind you and for a brief moment thought it was surely going to attack you now. But you were shocked to feel something cool against your head as another high pitch whine was right by your ear. It’s muzzle was nudging you, whining, trying to get you to move but you were too shocked to move a single muscle.
“Wh-who are you?” You wanted to sound demanding. You wanted to sound strong. But your voice cracked and hands slightly shook as your eyes remained focused on the hybrid in front of you.
He gave you another soft smile, lowering himself on the landing to meet your gaze properly. “My name is Seokjin, but please call me Jin. The wolfdog behind you is Jungkook. You, Beautiful, must be Y/n Spades.” His smile widened as you slowly nodded your head, your own eyes staring at him with mixed emotions. “Your uncle, Takoda Spades, left us a letter detailing that you were to inherit us if anything were to happen... this is correct, yes?”
“I... the will never mentioned hybrids...”
“For all of our protection, yes.”
A new voice. This one deeper than the last, all eyes snapping to the foot of the stairs. He was taller than Jin and seemed to hold more muscle as his white shirt (the same exact one Jin was wearing) had a tighter fit, muscles threatening to breakthrough. His hair was a light ash blonde, smoky and seeming more white/gray, with fluffy dark gray ears on top, pointed and standing alert. Your eyes met his and for a fraction of a second you could have sworn they were glowing lilac but it must have been the lighting, instead they were a warm amber that held a fire inside. A fire that invited you to get closer, to feel his warmth and embrace him. You were lost in that warmth, body leaning slightly forward without your knowledge.
Jin’s tail softly wagged at the sight of the male, bright eyes looking between the two of you. Your actions didn’t go unnoticed by anyone. “Y/n, this is Namjoon, our pack alpha-”
Swoosh!
A blur of movement ran passed the three of you in the matter of a second. The air hit your bare neck, your eyes wide as you realized the wolfdog, Jungkook, swiped your scarf and took off down the steps. There was shock for a brief moment before panic ensued- what if it was destroyed? The worry you emitted had Jin whining, stepping to you while Namjoon growled after the shifted hyrbid.
“Hey-!”
“Jungkook!”
You jumped up and ran past the two, much to their surprise, and ran down the stairs. You were ready to hunt the wolfdog down, get the scarf back and maybe even exile him to the woods for the night. He could freeze out there for the night, and then maybe he would appreciate the scarf a bit more-
“Oof-!”
You felt something solid and warm once again, this time face first. A hand locked on the back of your head, firmly and carefully, while another wrapped around your waist. Warm breath hit the top of your head, blowing a few strands gently, while you felt pressure rubbing your head.
“Please don’t be mad.” The voice was new one and you could hear the pout in it as well as the worry. It was heartbreakingly sad, could even make the world’s smallest violin sound mediocre in comparison. “It’s safe, it’s just in the wash. I couldn’t take it. Just his scent all over you and clinging to you like that-”
“Jungkook.”
Namjoon was right behind you, voice low with a displeased growl. In response Jungkook whined and clung to you, body locking to yours. His tone reminded you of a kid who got caught doing something bad. “Hyung, his scent is all over her! The scarf in the sink, I’ll wash it and have it dried by tomorrow!”
Scent? Wooyoung. It took a second but you realized he was on edge about Wooyoung’s scent, on your and the scarf. It was what Jin was talking about earlier, you smelling with another hybrids scent was making them uncomfortable. You tried to step back but Jungkook refused the space. Instead he held tighter, face buried in your hair, cheek rubbing against you in a rushed manner.
“Jungkook, I’m not mad.”  Those magic words had the hybrid loosening his grip on you. It gave you an escape, putting some distance though his arm was still wrapped around your waist with his hand still in on the back of your head. Finger were softly twirling the strands.
He was just as handsome as Jin and Namjoon; hair was a chocoate brown that was kept longer than the others, his ears were triangular like the others and matched the beautiful shades of his fur when he was shifted, as well as his long and fluffy tail. His eyes were doe-like and gold, trained on you with emotions you didn’t understand. A smile broke out on his face, his teeth looking more bunny-like than wolf. The smile and eyes settled your earlier thoughts and put out the angry fire that he had stirred. The idea of putting him outside nearly made your heartbreak.
“You’re not mad? You don’t want me to leave?”
At his question your lips curved up slightly. “I’m not putting you in the doghouse Jungkook. I kind of understand why you did what you did.” His tail wagged, eyes brightening, and toned and bare chest rumbling-
Your cheeks turned red as you realized that Jungkook was lacking clothes. You were still being held close, so close you could feel the toned muscles flush against you, as well as something hard pressed right against your stomach-
“Jungkook. Clothes. Now.”
Namjoon was your saving grace, face so red you didn’t want to face them. But they didn’t need to see you to know how you were feeling. To put it lightly, Jungkook was more than pleased to be the one to have your scent become mouther watering and nearly impossible to ignore. You kept your gaze on his collar, refusing to look elsewhere.
“Yes sir,” You could hear his amusement as his warmth almost disappeared. Almost. “Wait for me in the living room, Honey.” His voice was right in your ear and something sharp nipped at your earlobe. You jumped and squeaked as you hybrid walked out of your view, chuckling at you.
You could feel the burn in your face, still refusing to move incase you got a whole view of the male. Not that a large part of you didn’t want to look, but damnit you were going to at least have some of your dignity.
“He’s gone now, Beautiful. You can turn around.” The tease in Jin’s voice brought a pout to your face as you looked at the other two hybrids. Seeing your flushed cheeks and lips stuttering out had them almost cooing. Jin smiled softly at you. “Jungkook’s very playful, though he doesn’t mean harm.” You wanted to snort because the man was obviously trying to give you a heart attack.
Namjoon stepped forward, a smile trying to form though he held it back. Trying to save you some face at least. In his hands were a few files with DRF stamped in large letters across each one and one envelope with Namjoon written across it. “Mr. Spades left a letter for us and lightly explained a few things.”
Your heart picked up as you wondered what was written to them. Perhaps there was something hidden inside that letter that you needed. What if they knew what happened to him? What if everything written inside the envelope and solved what happened to your late uncle?
“Let’s head to the living room, we’ll wait for Jungkook and then talk.” Jin offered, already taking your hand and leading you towards one of the large room. His thumb rubbed soft circles on the back of your hand as those bright blue eyes seemed worried. You could almost feel Namjoon’s own worry radiate from behind the two of you, and you couldn’t help but wonder...
What was in that letter?
While you were pondering what could have been written you failed to realize you had left your device in the car. The screen lit up once more, 7 missed calls from Sassy ASSistant and followed by one text:
Sassy ASSistant: Y/n Spades you are in serious trouble when I get there.

Hi! I really love your writing! Can u request rowan x reader where they have a fight and she gives him the cold shoulder and he gets a taste of his own medicine for the first time? 😭
Cold Shoulder
Rowan x reader
Warnings: some angst
You heard the bedroom door open and shut. Rowan’s heavy booted footsteps walking around, searching every corner of the room for you.
You got into a fight this morning but had been ignoring him all day. You were only doing what he would do. For once he tried to come to you first to talk about the argument. But you wanted him to squirm for a little while longer.
Currently, you were sitting in the bathtub with the lights off. You weren’t taking a bath, you were just avoiding Rowan.
Rowan approached the bathroom door, jiggling the doorknob. He sighs, “y/n, I know your in there. Please let me in? I want to talk, please?” His voice breaks at the last please. Rolling your eyes you use your magic to unlock the door.
He slowly enters. You cross your arms, turning your face away from him. He sits on the floor next to the tub and places his hand on the ledge. You stay silent, hell bent on giving him the silent treatment like he has done to you.
“Y/n?” He whispers, “y/n I’m so sorry about the morning. I didn’t mean what I said, I was just…I was stressed. I just want you to be safe.” You let out an annoyed sigh.
“Please say something?” You turn to face him. Your brow furrowed and your lips set in a frown. “I’m upset that you think I can’t take care of myself. I know you want to protect me but I can fight too Ro. I just hate when you treat me like I’m some glass figurine.”
You turn away from him again, leaning on the far ledge of the tub. Rowan rubs at his face. “I know. I’m just afraid to lose you. And I know that’s not an excuse but I am sorry.”
Silence lingers between you. You knew he was truly sorry. Giving him the silent treatment wasn’t fair, you knew how it felt. Your shoulders slump as you let out a sad sigh.
Rowan climbs in the tub, wrapping his arms around your middle and pulling you into his lap. He ticks your head under his chin as he strokes your hair. “You can keep giving me the silent treatment if that makes you feel better.”
“No. It won’t. I hated it so it’s not fair, though you deserve it.” You chuckle. “Good. It was driving me crazy.”

daphnejonesricciardo the tortured poets department. an anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. this period of the author's life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. there is nothing to avenge, no score to settle once wounds have healed.and upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. this writer is of firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. once we have spoke out saddest story, we can be free of it.
and then all that's left behind is the tortured poetry.
the tortured poets department is out now.

Forever Be Mine, part 6
This one is pretty relaxed compared to the last few parts lol. Here's the masterlist!
CW: Stockholm syndrome, manipulation, mentions of torture/murder, implied noncon, intimate whumper
...
"Felicity? Can I ask you something?"
"Make it quick, I'm a little busy. If you need money, I can send you some later today."
"I'm not Griff. I was wondering if you had any... relationship advice?"
"And you called me out of all people?" Felicity snorted. "I'm too much of a workaholic to even consider love. As long as you haven't been stalking them, I'm sure you'll be fine." Rowan went silent. "Goddammit, Rowan. Again?"
Rowan wouldn't dare tell her he went even farther than just that. "He hates me. What do I do?"
"I don't know the guy, I don't know what he's into. Probably people not creeping on him," she huffed. "Give him something he likes--and not something you like that you want him to like. Not a hundred roses or some expensive brand of wine he's probably never heard of. Treat him like an actual human with thoughts and emotions and not some pampered pet. Just... be normal." There was talking in the background. "I gotta go. I think you'd have more luck asking Griffin about this."
As if, Rowan bitterly thought. Griffin's idea of romance was fast food and video games. "Fine. Talk to you later."
"Don't do anything stupid." And then she hung up.
Rowan sighed and leaned back in his chair, staring at his ceiling. This entire time he had been forcing Sawyer to conform to his ideas of romance, so perhaps it was time to take some advice for once. He was desperate. Hopefully after this, Sawyer would see him for the perfect boyfriend he was, and come crawling into his arms with love and devotion.
An idea popped into his head.
Sawyer flinched when the shed door creaked open. Rowan knelt down, draping his large coat over his shivering form. He cut the rope and helped Sawyer into the warm coat.
"Let's get you inside, babydoll. You're ice-cold," Rowan murmured, holding Sawyer's hand and walking him inside the cabin.
Rowan brought him to the bathroom, and to Sawyer's shock, left him alone to his own devices. Sawyer turned on the bathtub's tap, waiting until the water was steaming. He slowly sunk into it. It was heaven compared to the freezing temperature he was kept at in the shed. He sunk lower until only his eyes were peeking over the water level.
Once he was warmed up, his mind wandered to Rowan's behavior. Despite not knowing him for long, he figured the first thing his captor would do would be to ramble and insist on giving him zero personal space.
Did he grow tired of him? Did this mean he'd let him go? Or...
Sawyer shook his head. He tried not to think too hard about it and washed himself as fast as possible. When he was done, he climbed out and dried off, finding a pair of neatly folded clothes on the counter. He put them over his aching limbs, just a normal t-shirt and sweatpants. He exited the bathroom to find Rowan waiting for him, holding a bowl of what he assumed was tomato basil soup.
"How was your bath?" Rowan asked, motioning to the couch. Sawyer obeyed and sat down beside him.
"Nice. Thanks," Sawyer whispered.
"Here. You must be hungry." He took the bowl from Rowan and held it close, letting the heat warm him up. "Eat up." He picked up the spoon and dipped it into the red liquid. The spoon was trembling in his hand.
Rowan didn't miss it, because of course he didn't. "Do you want me to feed you?"
Sawyer shook his head. "No. I got it." He didn't, but there was no way he was going to be coddled even more by his kidnapper. He ignored Rowan's burning gaze on him and he ate the soup in small bites. He couldn't understand Rowan, nor did he really want to. All he could do was keep him happy enough so he didn't end up back in that awful shed. He offered his empty bowl. "Thanks."
He smiled and took it. "You're welcome. Stay right there, I got you a present!"
If he had learnt anything about Rowan these past few weeks, it was that his gifts sucked. Sawyer never wanted to look at expensive jewelry or roses ever again. He wondered what horrible gift he was going to receive now. Probably a collar, at this point.
Rowan came back holding something small in his arms. Sawyer curiously stood up to get a better look at it, just to see a small white cat curled up in his arms. Sawyer froze. Rowan approached him with a huge smile on his face.
"What..." Sawyer could barely speak, his hand reached out to the cat, who happily rubbed his face on his palm. "What did you do?"
"I knew you liked cats, and even though I'm not the most fond of animals, love is about making sacrifices. And before you say anything, I didn't buy him from a breeder." He handed the tiny fluff ball to Sawyer. "He had previous owners who got rid of him because he's deaf, or so that's what the shelter said. He's perfectly healthy."
Sawyer looked at him then at the cat. "You're giving me a cat?"
"Yes! Don't you love him?" Sawyer nodded. "See? I'm a good partner!" Rowan smiled proudly.
If Sawyer weren't so distracted by the cat in his arms, he would've scoffed. Instead, he cradled the furball to his chest. "What's his name?"
"Whatever you want it to be, my love."
He frowned and rubbed a finger between the kitten's eyes. "Casper." He still hated Rowan's guts, and he felt anxious now that a cat was in this fucked up situation, but it was hard to be mad at him right now. He was a sucker for cute things, and this fluffy creature was purring contentedly in his hold. He almost forgot that this whole scenario was forced upon him by Rowan. Almost.
Rowan placed his hands on Sawyer's waist, but didn't push things any further. He leaned forward and kissed his cheek. "Do you like him?"
Sawyer didn't want to be too thankful, lest Rowan got ideas that he owed him something. Besides that, he still hated his guts. "Yeah. He's cute." He hugged Casper a little closer to him.
"I knew you'd love him!" Rowan beamed. "Now that I have your approval, I'll get some toys for him. I already got food and a litter box. Anything specific you want for him? I've never owned any animals, so I don't know much about taking care of one." He sheepishly smiled. "Maybe a collar and a bed for him? I'll let you pick them out, and I can pick them up from the store."
"Uh, yeah, a collar, and a bed would be great. Thank you," Sawyer mumbled, still hugging the cat tightly. "And maybe a scratching post."
He didn't like the happy expression on Rowan's face, the bastard didn't deserve to be pleased, but he couldn't help himself when a soft cat was purring in his arms. He always wanted a cat, but due to money being tight, he never wanted to bring another living creature into his shitty living situation.
And even now he didn't, because it was somehow worse... but it'd be nice for someone other than Rowan to keep him company. It was selfish, he knew, but he was so lonely here that he was willing to subject a cat to Rowan.
"What is your ideal date?" Rowan's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Not with you."
"Sawyer," Rowan warned. He placed his hand on Sawyer's shoulder and gave it a squeeze.
He sighed. "I dunno. I haven't been on many dates. An aquarium sounds cute, but I know that'd be too public for you, right?" It was meant as a sarcastic jab, but Rowan took it genuine and nodded. Sawyer resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "I like ice skating, but I guess that's also not your type of scene. Whatever, doesn't matter anyway. I'm gonna go to bed."
Rowan watched the man walk off with Casper still in his arms. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed.
...
"What's this?"
"A lake to skate on! I made sure it was thick enough to walk on without breaking. And after this, we can have some hot cocoa and a nice cuddle session by the fire."
"Uh... that's... cool." Sawyer scratched the back of his neck. "I guess. But uh... why?"
"Because you wanted to go ice skating. And since a public skating rink would be trouble, I decided this would do. Again, I made sure it's safe, so don't worry your pretty little head about that." Rowan booped Sawyer's nose. "I ordered us some ice skates too, of course." He grabbed two pairs of black ice skates from the car's trunk. He led him to a log, brushing off the snow, and then gestured for Sawyer to sit.
Sawyer did so, albeit reluctantly. He watched Rowan kneel to slide his shoes off and replace them with the skates. It got harder to resist the urge to kick him when Rowan pressed a kiss to his ankle as he laced up the boots for him.
As Rowan put on his own pair, Sawyer got curious. "Have you ever ice skated before?"
"Well... no, but it can't be that hard, right? How different could it be from roller-skating?" Sawyer chuckled at his ignorance. Oh, he'd have fun watching him tumble around. "I'm excited to try it with you." He pulled Sawyer up, walking awkwardly to the frozen lake. "Just... hold onto me so you don't fall," Rowan advised, intertwining their gloved fingers.
Sawyer didn't know why he didn't pull away. "Alright," he agreed, his other hand clutching onto Rowan's arm.
Rowan stepped onto the ice, wobbling slightly. "Oh, okay, that's a bit harder than I expected." He slid his feet forwards, pulling Sawyer with him. "You're doing okay, right?"
He couldn't help but grin. "Yeah." Rowan looked ridiculous with his lanky limbs sprawled everywhere and his ungraceful movements. It was the funniest thing Sawyer had witnessed in a long while. "Having fun?"
"Oh, yeah, a blast." He slipped and nearly fell, catching himself with his hand on the ground. Sawyer covered his mouth, muffling his laughter. Rowan glared up at him. "Okay, okay, laugh it up. You have a clear advantage over me here." He pushed himself back up to stand. "Help me." Sawyer obliged, extending his hand to Rowan. "How did you even get so good at this?"
Sawyer pulled him up. "Ice skating was a huge hobby of mine when I was a kid. My parents wanted me to do hockey, the more 'manly' sport, but I liked figure skating. They eventually just gave up."
"Do you still ice skate? I don't recall ever seeing you go to any skating rinks..."
Right when Sawyer was starting to relax, he was reminded this man was insane. "I don't. I had to sell my skates when I went broke." He bit his tongue. He hated telling people personal information, let alone people like this. But there wasn't much he could do about it now. He couldn't afford to upset Rowan anymore. He didn't want to be punished again, and he definitely didn't want to be thrown in that godforsaken shed.
He didn't want to see that ever again. Crazy how that was less than a day ago, and now Rowan had the gall to act like none of that happened.
"That's a shame. I bet you looked lovely on the ice." He kissed his forehead. "Well, whenever you like, we always have this area to skate together. At least until it starts melting." Rowan chuckled and moved his legs like a newborn deer attempting to stand. He had fallen again, but he managed to catch himself in time.
A sadistic part of Sawyer sparked whenever he saw Rowan stumble around like an idiot. It felt nice seeing him being the one out of his element, considering everything else he'd put him through. He couldn't help but take enjoyment from the rare opportunity of seeing the usually overly-confident and arrogant Rowan in an uncomfortable position.
Soon enough they both grew tired (aka Rowan was done embarrassing himself) and retreated to the cabin.
Rowan sat Sawyer down and prepared a cup of hot chocolate for him, adding some marshmallows and whipped cream on top. He set it on the coffee table and grabbed a blanket from the couch to drape it over Sawyer. Casper settled on Sawyer's lap and purred loudly, seeking pets.
Sawyer took the mug and blew on it. "Thank you," he mumbled before drinking some of the warm liquid.
"No problem, sweetheart." He sat on the couch next to him and placed his hand on his thigh. Sawyer looked down at it but didn't move away. "How was it?"
"How was what?"
"Our date." Rowan squeezed his leg, thumb rubbing circles on the inside of his thigh. "You didn't say much."
"Well, I was busy laughing at you," Sawyer pointed out, continuing to drink his hot cocoa. He licked away some foam that clung to his lip. Rowan stared at him intently, almost hungrily. "But it was... fine." He paused. "I guess."
"That's it? I expected a little more from you. Especially considering everything I did for you," Rowan scolded, his tone dangerously low. His hand stopped moving and tightened on his leg. Sawyer shivered. "I bought you a fucking cat. I skated with you even though it's freezing out. I cooked your favorite meal. I held back from touching you when I desperately wanted to." He leaned closer. "And I get nothing but a 'fine'?"
"I thought this was to make up for looking me in a damn freezing shed, not to guilt me into kissing your ass," Sawyer replied bluntly.
Rowan scowled. "Don't get snippy with me."
His word choice made Sawyer snort. "Well, sorry I'm feeling 'snippy' after being stalked, kidnapped, branded, and watching you kill a man. Forgive me for not being in a stellar mood." Rowan stood up, and Casper jumped off his lap at the sudden movement. Sawyer realized he made a mistake and was quick to amend it. "I didn't mean it, please don't put me back there."
When Rowan went silent, opting to stare at him, Sawyer realized he wanted him to continue.
"I'm thankful for everything you've done for me... and I loved our date. I'm sorry I'm so nonchalant about everything, I haven't been in a healthy relationship in years. This is just new to me." Sawyer's lip wobbled, only at the thought of being placed in the freezing cold again.
Rowan folded his arms. "I understand that, but I've been so patient with you. I think I deserve something in return, don't I?"
Great, now Sawyer didn't know how to further manipulate himself out of this one. Then, an idea popped in his mind. He dramatically sighed. "I just wished you'd see me for more than sex."
That was all it took for Rowan to fall for his bait. "Sawyer," he began softly, his scowl turning into a concerned frown, "is that all you think I'm after from you?" Sawyer shrugged and averted his eyes, faking embarrassment. Rowan had already fallen for similar acts in the past, but when it came to Sawyer, all logic went out the window. "Oh, honey, that's not true. I don't just want your body, I want everything of yours. Your mind, body, and soul belongs to me, and I want to cherish it all. I don't know why you would ever think so low of me."
Sawyer lowered his head, fighting back a smirk. "Sorry. I'm sorry, it's just hard to believe that sometimes. I'm used to guys being like that."
"I'm not those types of men, my love."
"I know." Rowan was worse. "It's just... that's why I have a hard time showing I'm grateful for things. Because people have done so much for me in the past, just because they wanted a quick fuck." He took joy in seeing how guilty Rowan looked. Good. "So I'm sorry I've been so dismissive. I'll try to be more grateful."
"Oh, sweetheart." Rowan placed a hand on his cheek. "I'll prove it to you. That I'm not like those men. That I truly care about you, not just your body."
Sawyer wasn't buying any of it. But he had Rowan right where he wanted him. Rowan was eating out the palm of his hand, like an eager dog wanting attention. "How?"
"We can cuddle, and watch what ever you want." Rowan grabbed Sawyer's hands, running his thumbs over his knuckles. "I know I can be impatient sometimes when it comes to more... intimate activities, but I'll slow down. Whatever you need. Cuddling you and having your full attention is more than enough for me right now."
"Okay," Sawyer replied simply, making sure not to let his fake shyness slip. He didn't want to oversell this.
Yet the 'for now' didn't go unnoticed. Sawyer had no doubt Rowan would eventually expect more from him again. He just had to hope by then he could manage to escape without incident.
"Then it's a deal!" Rowan beamed. He practically dragged him to the bedroom, tossing Sawyer onto the mattress. "Sorry," Rowan chuckled. Sawyer had to admit, Rowan was incredibly strong, especially for a guy of his build. He easily lifted him and tossed him around like he was light as a feather. Sawyer hoped that wouldn't turn into something disturbing. "Scoot over a bit, I'm going to set up the movie."
Sawyer had to admit, being around Rowan wasn't as insufferable as it was before. Sure, he still despised him, but... when he wanted to, he could be sweet.
Well, as sweet as a manic kidnapper could be.
Rowan let Sawyer choose from the list of movies, to which he settled on a nostalgic 90's film. Rowan wasn't too interested in it, but if it made Sawyer happy, he was glad. He was too busy staring at Sawyer to actually pay attention to the screen. Sawyer was aware of this and refused to give Rowan the satisfaction of him meeting his gaze.
Rowan nuzzled his face into the crook of Sawyer's neck and wrapped an arm around his waist. He peppered kisses along his shoulder and collarbone. Sawyer remained tense under the affectionate touch, not allowing himself to enjoy it even in the slightest.
He tried not to be annoyed with Rowan constantly interrupting his viewing to shower him in attention, but he had a feeling this would happen.
"I'm surprised you're not into this movie," Sawyer muttered. "Do you not like nostalgic things?"
Rowan paused in his ministrations. "Hm? No, I do. I just didn't watch much TV as a child, so I don't know these films. I'm sure it's wonderful." He pressed a kiss to his pulse point. "I'd much rather focus on you anyway."
Sawyer suppressed a sigh of frustration. "Alright then."
Halfway through the movie, Casper hopped on the bed and flopped between Sawyer and Rowan. Sawyer cracked a smile and patted the bed to coax him closer, so he could pet him. Casper purred happily and headbutted Sawyer's hand.
Rowan was less happy. "This is our moment, can't he wait?" he whined.
He huffed and rolled his eyes. "He's a cat, Rowan. He can't see what we're doing. He just wants cuddles."
"So do I!" Rowan exclaimed indignantly.
"You're such a child." Sawyer rolled his eyes, but still scooted closer to Rowan's side, just to shut him up. He leaned against Rowan's chest, keeping a hand on Casper's head to stroke him. He could feel Rowan grinning above him and he repressed the urge to shove him away in disgust. He focused on the screen in front of them, determined to ignore the arms wrapping around him possessively.
It still felt nice to relax for the first time since he had been kidnapped. Not that he was warming up to Rowan, surely not... Sawyer just appreciated having his nerves calmed after that horrible week he endured.
Before the ending credits finished rolling, Sawyer's eyelids grew heavy and he found himself dozing off, head resting against Rowan's chest. He heard Rowan's soft chuckling and a kiss being pressed against his hairline. He grumbled, too tired to care about the intimacy, and just sunk deeper against Rowan's warmth.

NIGHTMARE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WARNINGS;; written in 3rd person, nightmares, blood, whip, trowing up, KOA SPOILERS
Tumblr media
she woke up  in another room. not the one she loved in the orynth castle. no. she was in a room that she hated and that sometimes, hunted her dreams.
she knew that chair. it was the same chair where her father had chained her mother, forcing  her to watch how he whipped her. she wore the scars, the same one’s aelin had once on her back. aelin. her mate, and rowan. they were her mates.
she looked for them in the room, but it was too dark, so dark that she couldn’t see her feet. but then a faint light appeared in front of her. blood. so much blood that it looked like valg blood, a sound, a whip sound. the light grew stronger, and in front of her…
“no” she whispered “no, no, no, no,...”
she tried to break the chains, but it was impossible, she was forced to watch as her father whipped rowan. his arms were bound to the roof with iron chains, so he couldn’t use his powers to defend himself… and aelin. because aelin… she didn’t want to look to the ground, knowing what she was going to see, but a hand grabbed her neck and forced her to look at the ground.
a scream ripped her throat.
aelin was on the ground. a thin nightgown covered her body, or had covered her body, she couldn’t see her face, the iron mask she once carried, was hiding her beautiful features. and her back… she let her guts out to the floor. there was so much blood, so many wounds from the whip, she couldn’t even see the tattoo rowan inked on her. the hand on her neck tightened.
“let’s have some fun” she felt  his wicked smile.
she started screaming again. a distant voice was calling her name, but she couldn’t hear it. the voice was approaching, her name more clear now…
she woke up again. this time there wasn’t blood, her father wasn’t there, she wasn’t chained to the chair, and her mate’s…
a cold wind tried to calm her, she knew that wind and the scent that lingered with it… rowan.
a soft voice called her name… aelin.
but the nightmare… she got up from the bed and went to the bathroom, but it was too far. she fell to her knees, throwing up again, and again. two pairs of hands were rubbing her back, the same cold wind tried to calm her. once she was done, aelin grabbed her arms pulling her to her body, wrapping her body with her. rowan hugged both of them. and then she started crying again.
minutes, hours… she didn’t know how much time had passed until she calmed down enough to talk, or not.
“you want to talk about it?” aelin said. her voice soft, as if she would disappear if she raised her voice. she looked at her, and aelin felt her heart ache, there was so much pain in those eyes… she took her hand, playing with the ring she wore when they married, the same rowan and she wore.
“you were dead” rowan and aelin tensed. “and rowan… was nearly dead. he… he whipped you, both of you, and…” she sobbed “and i was chained to the chair, i couldn’t move, i couldn’t do anything to save you. you were wearing the mask and your back… there was so much blood, i-” she didn’t finish.
rowan grabbed her by the legs and shoulders, laying her down on the bed again. his arm was on her waist and aelin traced patterns on her arm. when she was more calm, rowan murmured. “we aren’t going to leave, doll. you hear me?? we are going to be here for you, we are going to live for a thousand years with you, and if something happens, we will find you. we will always find you angel. always.” he kissed her forehead. she turned in his arms so she was facing aelin, a silver line in her eyes.
“can you tell me the story?” aelin didn’t ask what story she was asking for.
“of course angel” she grabbed her hand, and she felt rowan behind her, moving closer to her body.
“once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess, who loved her kingdom very much…”

Just to address a few things first -
I love Feysand together and I don't hold their (Rhys's) past mistakes against them.
The way Tamlin spoke to Feyre at the High Lords meeting was petty and childish.
But for those who claim Lucien's actions with Hybern are unforgiveable and therefore will forever make it impossible for Elain to forgive him in order to accept their bond, I think we should compare two scenarios:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rhys admits that he forced Feyre into their bargain as a way to defy Amarantha, a way to get back at Tamlin, and yes, a way to keep Feyre alive. Feyre acknowledges that she was a pawn in his schemes yet still fell in love with him.
Versus:
Tumblr media
Lucien had no idea the sisters would be brought into things, that was all Ianthe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He tells both Feyre and Elain that what happened was a mistake, that the sisters being brought in and how things went down was not their plan. One of Lucien's main goals was to try and save Feyre.
Rhys, in comparison, admits that it was his plan to use Feyre as a pawn to serve his purpose. There were aspects that benefitted her but most of it was for himself and his people.
Tamlin and Lucien believed Feyre was being brain washed and tortured, something she let Lucien continue believing when he found her in the woods, when she felt it was more important to protect the secret of who Rhys was under his mask. So they worked with Hybern in exactly the same way Rhys worked with Amarantha, with the end goal of protecting Feyre and helping their people:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The differences in these scenarios are:
Lucien and Tamlin never used Feyre or her sisters as a pawn versus Rhys who actively used Feyre as one. For good reasons yes but it doesn't change the facts.
There was no "Ianthe" in Rhys's situation. Rhys, as High Lord, made the decisions on his own and did not risk betrayal by sharing his schemes with others. He clearly made the smarter play compared to Tamlin who trusted Ianthe but.....
Lucien never liked Ianthe. Never really trusted her, never wanted her around. Just as Cassian, Az, etc. followed their HLs orders to hide Feyre's pregnancy, just as Amren and Mor chose to keep the mating bond a secret from Feyre, just as the IC all hid the information about Nesta's made weapons from her, those under a HL are subject to following the orders of said HL. It didn't matter if Lucien agreed with Tamlin about Hybern, about Ianthe, he had no power to challenge him. In the end, the decision to do what they did was not his call.
I think everyone in this fandom knows that the events of Hybern would truly not stand in the way of an Elucien endgame.
When Rhys used Feyre as a pawn on multiple occasions.
When Cassian told Nesta that everyone hated her and initially hid the knowledge of the swords from her.
When Bryce initially thought Hunt betrayed her in CC1.
When Rowan punched Aelin in the face and told her the world would have been better had she died as a child.
When Feyre fell in love with Tamlin even after he kidnapped her.
When Ruhn fell in love with Lidia despite the sins she committed for the Asteri.
I think everyone knows Elain's current behavior towards Lucien is not preventing an Elucien endgame.
Not when Nesta told Cassian she wanted nothing to do with him and slept with other males.
Not when Feyre was initially afraid of Rhys, said the night she kissed Tamlin was the happiest of her life, admits she wanted Rhys even UTM yet still accepted Tamlin's proposal.
Not when Yrene thought Chaol was to blame (by association) for the death of her family.
Not when you consider what Elide believed about Lorcans loyalty to Maeve.
Not when Aedion found out about Lysandra and Aelin's plot to deceive him in marriage and children.
Given the history of SJMs writing, there is nothing preventing an Elucien endgame aside from Elain's reticence over the bond and when an author like Diana Gabaldon turned an unwanted arranged marriage (for Claire) into a love story that has one of SJMs favorite male love interests, I think Elucien is going to be just fine.
