You tell him you're fine and you continue to make fun of yourself

He starts to feel like he offended you by laughing instead of helping you.

You sigh, giving him a arm rub.

You reassure him again and tell him it happens all the time and you're surprised this is the first time it has happened in front of him.

He still doesn't feel right so whenever he sees you almost tumble he grabs your hand, waist, arm, the list is endless.

"I understand, love. But I'm running out of bandaids.

He rolls his eyes and kisses your forehead again.

He tells you it's not a bother but he wants you to be more aware of your surroundings.

You apologize again.

He pulls you close to his side so you focus more on his support.

You fall a lot so you stared rating your attacks to the floor.

"I give that recovery a solid 8 though. Your timing was much quicker than last time."

You burst into laughter, saying how you'll try harder on your landing next time.

He scans the ground, looking for whatever you tripped on.

You reassure him it was just your feet not landing on the ground right.

He stairs at you and you move about your business.

However, he walks plastered to your side.

He's not a fan of physical touch.

But he definitely doesn't want you to fall again.

You smile. Placing your arm around him.

He's panicking.

You stand up, brushing your knees.

He holds your hand with pride as he struts along side you.

Fellow writers (hobbyist and what-not), do you all remember when you first started writing? Do you all remember that special moment when your brain crackled with an idea so great, you just had to put it into writing? 

Me? Well, I don’t remember it with clarity. Before I knew it, I was already sweating through a third loose leaf of paper, with little to no memories of what I had written down. The experience was so absurd and strange that I threw away the paper. But something had definitely been awakened in me from that experience, I just didn’t know it yet. 

Three years later, when I was at the tender age of 11, I picked up writing again. Or more like, writing picked me up again. To open a small parentheses, I have always had wildly vivid dreams, from horrifying nightmares to wondrous dreams of happiness. On that particular day, I had a nightmare of such a detailed magnitude that my brain commanded me to write it down. From there, I was lost to a world of words and fantasies. 

I looked at the world, became inspired, wrote, loved the writing for a time, hated the writing for another time, and moved on. I repeated this cycle for years. My brain was constantly working overtime to satisfy my needs for a world to lose myself in, and the amount of Japanese media I consumed certainly helped this process along. 

From late 2010 to the more recent 2018, I was writing and writing and writing, however, was any of it any good? No. Actually, maybe yes, some of it was good while others were... not as good. But even then, I like to remember all those cringe-worthy stories and ideas with fondness, like that meme that goes: "Damn, girl, you wrote this? (affectionate)" and "Damn, girl, you wrote this? (derogatory)"

Personally, I never thought I would enjoy going through my old writings so much, but I actually did. And, I don’t want there to come a day in which I don’t remember going on this nostalgia tour, therefore I’m choosing to post this collection of embarrassing and cringe-worthy content, with added comments of a more mature version of myself (hopefully! I'm more mature!).  Nostalgia Tour: A book not written by me will be updating weekly starting next week. Tune in on November 12th for issue #1!

the public reaction to i saw the tv glow is like a perfect case study into how cis people take up queer spaces and unknowingly mock and enjoy trans suffering. sitting in the theater, i had a pit in my stomach the entire time. so many times, i would tear up and then someone else in the theater would laugh. and i wouldn’t cry because how would they look at me when the lights came back on? because they don’t see it. they don’t see the pain. they think it’s funny. i left the theater completely silent, not saying a word to my boyfriend and he didn’t say a word to me until partway into the drive home. the people around us immediately got to picking it apart, explaining what it all meant to each other, dumbing it down, making theories. cis people see the the movie, just like transness, as something to debate. a conversation. something to dissect because it makes them uncomfortable if they don’t understand it in their easily digestible way.
