Just had some headcanons about Machi pop into my head that I wanted to share with yall. So we know this poor girl struggles with "perfect"/neat things right? Well I was thinking about some healthy coping mechanisms she could develop to replace the whole 'breaking property/living in a dump' thing & here's what I got so far -
1. She always tries to wear odd socks (unless she's invited somewhere nice)
2. Ayame & Mine help her find cool asymmetrical stuff to wear, how to make clashing colours/patterns work for her & teach her how to sew up her old clothes in a more "punk rock" way (after Yuki & Kakeru explain some of her issues with perfection)
3. Tohru gently points out that she dosn't have to tie her laces the same way on both shoes if she dosn't want to
4. Haru & Rin (awkwardly on her part) teach her the power of acessorising (ie. wearing only one earing, putting on an uneven amount of bracelets/rings/necklaces, adding paper clips of different sizes & colours to your clothing & Machi later ends up adding stuff like buttons to her outfits/belongings as well which Haru & Rin are tottally surppotive of despite thier difference in style) & hair/makeup which (thanks to Yuki's advice) they make sure to keep slightly messy (Kimi laughed at it at first until Momiji made her feel bad after he told her that Machi had gone to the bathroon & wiped off all the make up & undid the hair style so Kimi bought her some limited edition Mogeta merch, after asking for Yuki's advice, in apolgey & started referring to Machi's new hair/makeup style as "punk chic" whenever anyone tried to mock Machi about her new look)
5. her & Momiji go on a crazy tie dying adventure (much to Hatori's grumbling & Mayu's amusement)
6. Kormaki gets her into collecting second hand fridge magnets which she then later uses in her work (my version of post-serise Machi is an artist) once the magnetism finally wears off
7. Kagura teaches her how to fix up old plushies (Machi likes creating Mogeta inspired characters) & gives Machi all her old cat ones to work on (Machi descides not to ask why Yuki's cousin was seemingly once obssesd with orange cats because she looks rather embrassed & a little sad when she hands over her collection)
8. Kyo reluctantly teaches her how to cook a few simple dishes (Tohru comes over as well & Yuki insists her food is better but Machi prefers Kyo's simple style of presentation so it's eventually descided that Kyo & her will do the cooking & Tohru & Yuki will deal with the cleaning which Yuki agrees to becuse cleaning is still difficult for Machi but Kyo says it's actually because no matter how much Tohru tried to train him rat boy knows he would never be able to do anything in the kitchen but burn water)
9. Kakeru teaches her the skills of 'excessive badge & sticker decorating' as well as giving eachother fake tattoos (Kisa congratulates Hiro on not saying anything rude to Yuki's girlfriend about her appreance after they first meet her)
10. Cuts her hair short (she delibretly makes it very choppy) once she enters university, where the rules are less strict about your apprence (at least it is if your at art college), & she also regulary wears diffrent coloured wigs (her favourites being a dark red one & a rainbow one) whenever she wants to temporarily change her appearance (beacuse she didn't want to commit to just one look, still wanted to have the ability to quickly "become invisable" again & she heard from Kimi that exsseive hair die-ing could permantly destroy her hair & scalp) it takes her until she's 30 to try out shaving all her hair off (she worried she'd look sick/crazy or not feminine enough) & everyone's really surppotive (though Kimi dose cry a bit, Rin & Haru aren't there when her hair is being shaved & Kyo is a slightly confused as he'd always thought women liked having longer hair then guys) especially Ritsu (who's growing out thier hair again) & they all throw her a big party (Haru & Rin are there for the party bit just not the hair removal bit because it brought up some bad memories) where Kakeru films it & posts it (with Machi's permission) & they give her cut off hair to a charity chosen by all thier followers (despite her disbelief Machi has manged to gain a small group of loyal fans from all her art stuff & her apprences on her loved ones social media), Kakeru also later uploads a video where they help Machi rainbow dye her buzz cut, (she later explores many diffrent types of buzz cut patterns such as flowers & geometric shapes but, at Kimi's insistence, gets them done by a professional)
11. She recycles & D.Y.I's like crazy (Momiji started singing Do Re Mi from The Sound Of Music after she told him that her new dress was actually made from curtains & Yuki cried when she gave him a little rat plushie made from felt, after he came clean to her about the curse)
12. She almost never wears an apron while working on her art because she likes getting messy
13. When her & Yuki go out to eat she loves things like fondoe (both the chocolate & cheese kind), eat N mess & is genreually just a fan of finger food & it becomes a tradition between her & Yuki (& later Mutsuki) to go on a stroll through the park after thier meal & (if it's autumn) look for piles of leaves to jump in (Machi & Yuki also like playing a game where they try to look for the weirdest looking leaf to give eachother & whoever wins gets to pick what they'll eat for dinner that evening & the looser has to cook it, Mutsuki is the "impartial" judge)
14. Machi is amazing at scrapbooking & collarge making (Tohru is more of a dream journal kind of girl)
15. When it's Summer her, Yuki & Mutsuki go down to the beach to see who can find the weirdest looking rocks (the less impressive ones often get used in Machi's art work, the coolest ones Mutsuki gets to keep & any that are too perfect get tossed back in the ocean & Mutsuki likes to score the splashes they make on how big/loud they are)
16. She loves helping Yuki out with gardening for lots of reasons (it's therapeutic & she loves seeing Yuki happy) but she can't deny it's also just fun getting muddy
17. Machi, thanks to Kakeru, devolpes a love of paint ball (but instead of using guns they just throw the paint at eachother like in 10 Things I Hate About You because apparently the gun pellets actually hurt) & will bring it up as an activity idea to her loved ones any chanse she gets
18. Decorates as much of her flat (& later her home with Yuki & Mutsuki) with Mogeta merchandise, random things she collects & her own art work as a big fuck you to her bitch "you have 0 personality/hobbies or talents" of a mother
19. Kisa (happily) & Hiro (reluctantly) introduce Machi to the magic of glitter
20. Machi & Rin eventually become proper friends due to bonding over being abounded by their asshole parents & one of the things they like to do together is work on thier seprete art peices while listening to music (Machi dosn't do any of her "aggressive" art, like plate smashing, around Rin though thanks to Yuki & Haru warnings)
21. When stuff gets to be too much & none of thier other coping strategies are working (like watching Mogeta stoned- which Kisa, Tohru & Momiji do not partake in) Machi & Haru bond by going to rage rooms together to destroy shit & scream (Haru obviously dosn't want Rin around for any of that though so Momiji, Tohru, Kagura or Hana will often take the opportunity to hang out with her, one time Yuki offered & it wasn't bad but it was definitely awkward as they had never really hung out without Haru before & Haru teases her for ages afterwards about her ending up liking Yuki once she actually spent some time with him which, like the precious tsundere she is, Rin will forever deny)
22. (I actually made a whole seprete post about this ages ago but now it seems to have vanished so in case other Machi fans are unable to find it l'll add it here) on the days that it's supposed to snow but dosn't Yuki takes her (& later Mutsuki) skating so she can enjoy scratching up the perfectly smooth ice (they would have gone on double dates with Tohru & Kyo if Tohru wasn't freaked out at the idea of having blades on her shoes & Kyo hadn't claimed to "not trust" ice, he's dislike comes from all the times Kagura had forced him to ice skate with her on the lake near Kazuma's place in the winter when they were kids, so they would instead go with Haru & Momiji - they had thought about going with Haru x Rin & Kakeru x Kormaki once but he proudly revealed that he'd been banned from thier local ice rink years ago for trying "perfectly safe" Olympic level stunts in he's attempt to recreate one of he's favriote episodes of Power Rangers, much to he's fiancee's anger, & Machi reminded Yuki that though Haru & Kakeru were fine with eachother Rin isn't reall able to stand Kakeru for longer than 5 minuites)

THE NUMBER LADS ARE STILL HERE!!
Some of these chapters might be uh... less than consistent with the actual chronology of TCW but that's what they get when they don't air the episodes in order! (Read Part 1 and Part 2!)
CT-2222 = Do-si-do = Double Trouble
CT-3333 = Trees = Leafs
ARC-5555 = Fives (duh) = high fives
ARC-1409 = Echo (honorary number lad) = BetterDomino
CC-6666 = Sixes/Death = DEATH
ARC-7777 = Sevenset = RedBoiiiii
CT-8888 = Loops = Loopy
Trees had almost forgotten about the Numbers meeting. Honestly, the only thing reminding him of the day of the week was his own internal clock. A lot had happened, okay? Geonosis was never “fun” for anyone, and he was just glad it was over. His general and commander had both nearly died there--which was only a first for Commander Offee, because that had been the second campaign to Geonosis, and that wasn’t even including the damn brain worms--kriffing sithspit he needed a nap.
But a nap would wait until he could tell the others he was okay. Fortunately, he’d set a reminder for it, so at least he wouldn’t be getting half a dozen comms from Sevenset or Do-si-do about being late. The rest of his squadron was sound asleep by the time the meeting was supposed to start, so out of courtesy, Trees walked to the mess hall, which, at this time, was all but empty. One or two others milled about, looking just as exhausted as Trees felt. He took a seat in one corner, setting the holoprojector on the table and waiting for the transmission to start.
And trying not to fall asleep.
Sevenset started the meeting, Fives and Echo standing beside him like they had last month. They were approaching graduation by now, weren’t they?
“Hey, Trees,” Sevenset smiled.
“Hi.”
“How was bug world?” Fives asked.
Trees gave them a deadpan stare. “How do you think? I’m sure your friends in Torrent have plenty of stories.” The 501st had also been on Geonosis--their Commander Tano had been with Commander Offee onboard the medical transport infested with kriffing brain worms.
Echo smirked. “Yeah, we heard General Skywalker and Commander Tano threw Captain Rex off a building.”
“They did what?” Loops had appeared just as Echo had started speaking.
“Yeah, they’ve done it a lot, apparently,” Fives nodded.
“Kinda sad I missed it,” his batcher said.
“Devastated.”
Trees blinked slowly. “You aren’t. Believe me.”
Sevenset chuckled. “Yeah, you look like you’re falling asleep over there.”
Trees rubbed his face. “Yeah well,” he sighed, resting his chin on his hand, “when your general and commander nearly die twice on the same campaign, and somehow it involves mind controlling parasites, you’d be a little tired.”
The other four all raised their eyebrows at him. Before they had time to ask questions, however, a third hologram appeared. Trees recognized Do-si-do instantly, sitting at a table instead of in his cockpit like normal. But next to him was a new face--as it were. Judging from the glasses on the table and the shifting lighting, they were at 79s on Coruscant. Lucky bastards.
“I found zero!” Do-si-do announced happily. The man next to him gave a little two-finger salute.
Right after that, two more holograms appeared, which made Trees blink and sit up a bit straighter. He was used to Commander Sixes by now--honestly, he was--but after years of training to recognize COs and react accordingly, it was hard to shake the urge to go to attention. But the commander wasn’t the only one joining. Judging by the dull fuschia color of his armor, this was number four, from the Nova Corps.
He looked like he would rather crawl under a rock. Trees had felt similarly upon being press-ganged by Sevenset and Do-si-do to join them.
Sevenset’s face lit up at the two new holograms. “Commander!”
“Stow it, ARC,” came the immediate gruff reply.
“We’ve got two ARCs now,” Do-si-do was quick to point out, tapping the pauldrons of the man next to him.
The commander looked at the newcomer, then looked back at Sevenset. “He knows who I mean.”
“Indeed I do,” the ARC in question answered. “But hey! Two whole new numbers!” Trees couldn’t help the small smile forming on his face. Sevenset’s joy was contagious. “What do we call you guys?”
“I’m Zero,” the man next to Do-si-do replied. He had dark green paint over his armor, --maybe now Trees could convince Sevenset to change his name in the group chat to something other than Green Bean. His pauldrons were both green, and there was an inverted chevron visible over his grey chestpiece. Zero’s head was shaved on both sides, leaving a wide strip of curls down the center, and a tattoo on one side that Trees couldn’t quite make out from the hologram. He also caught sight of wide loops set into his earlobes. This guy almost had Sevenset beat for aesthetic.
They all turned their attention to the marine, who shrank back minisculely from his holoprojector. “Uhm…” He looked like he’d bolt at the next opportunity.
“It’s just your name, marine,” the commander prompted.
Instantly, the man answered, “Fours. I’m Fours.” Fours looked almost regulation from where Trees was sitting. It was hard to tell over hologram, but there might have been the remnants of a dye-job in his short hair, but it was too overgrown to be recognizable. The Nova Corps really didn’t get much time off. The armor they could see on him had vertical stripes painted over each shoulder, ending mid-way down his chestplate, as well as one down the center of his chest, and stripes down each shoulder bell.
Sevenset beamed at them both. “Well, welcome to the party. I’m Sevenset. I see Fours has already met the charming Commander Sixes.” The rest of them introduced themselves one by one, with Sevenset mentioning Echo’s “honorary number status” briefly.
“So… what do you guys actually do in these meetings?” Zero asked afterwards.
Several of the older members shrugged. Sevenset answered, “Eh, just chat. Or… I dunno, spread gossip.”
“They’re largely useless,” the commander said plainly.
Trees smirked at Sevenset’s eyeroll. “Yet, you keep coming to them, Commander,” the red ARC reminded him.
Do-si-do added, “He’s actually never missed one since you dragged him into it.”
Trees could confirm that--he often kept tabs on attendance just so he knew when to be worried if someone missed out. But he also wanted to keep watching Sevenset and Do-si-do taunt Death.
Zero and Fours both looked surprised, although Fours’ expression was a bit harder to read. He was still pretty on-edge. “How did you get Commander Death to join, anyway?” Zero asked, swirling the contents of his glass.
“Sheer willpower,” Sevenset answered smugly.
The commander crossed his arms. “I’m actually waiting for your last functioning brain cell to die from lack of stimulation. It’ll be funnier on camera.”
Fives and Do-si-do both burst out laughing--a problem for the latter, who had just taken a mouthful from his drink and consequently sprayed half of it across the table. Echo and Loops simply had huge grins on their faces, an expression Trees found mirrored on his own face. Sevenset had a sort of strained smile as he waited for Fives and Do-si-do to recover.
“I’m touched you have so much concern for me, Commander.”
“Oh, I’m concerned, alright.” The remark made Fives and Do-si-do break up again.
The commander was definitely warming up to the group, even Trees could see it. He would probably never admit it, but since his first meeting, he’d thawed a bit. Trees almost wished he could have seen their first meeting on Kamino, just to know how close the commander had been to wringing Sevenset’s neck. For old time’s sake.
Once the laughter had died down into smiles, Zero looked to the two batchers standing with Sevenset. “When are you two graduating, anyway?”
“Next week!” Fives announced, beaming with pride.
“Yeah, we get our new gear tomorrow,” Echo smiled.
“Which means this guy,” Fives added, putting an arm around his brother’s shoulders, “is going to stay up all night reading about it, right Echo?”
Echo shrugged his arm off with a well-worn scowl. Trees frowned a little. “Hey, reading up on the kit isn’t a bad idea. I did it. I’ll probably do it again when Phase Two comes out, whenever that’s gonna be.”
Vindicated, Echo folded his arms and lifted his chin at his brother, who rolled his eyes. Zero tipped his glass towards them. “Well, you survived this long. Have fun next week.” He drained what was left of the drink, then slid the glass to the center of the table. Trees really couldn’t wait for leave… he needed a drink after Geonosis. And not just the stuff the boys managed to sneak onboard.
“Hey, Zero,” Loops spoke up, leaning forward a little. “Why haven’t I heard much about the one-eigteenth?”
A good question. Trees knew rather little about Zero’s legion, aside from knowing it was in the Seventh Sky Corps along with the 501st and the 212th. He didn’t even know which Jedi led it.
“Probably--” The green ARC started to answer, then something out of frame caught his attention, and he held up a finger. He stood up and they heard him shout, “Incident! Off the ceiling! Troll, stop helping!” He leaned down. “Hang on.” Then he disappeared out of frame.
“Is someone actually on the ceiling?” Fives asked, looking to Do-si-do for answers.
The pilot nodded, his attention directed upward. “I don’t know how he did it. But he did.”
“Okay, so Torrent should never meet them,” Echo said. “I think we’d watch as the captain went grey from stress before our eyes.”
Fives grinned. “I dunno, it could be fun.”
“No, it would be fun,” his brother agreed, “right until you blow something up and get yourself and others hurt. Then Kix would have your balls.”
“Worth it.” Echo looked between Sevenset and Fives, who had both spoken, then rubbed his face with both hands.
Commander Sixes shook his head. “Never have these problems with my boys.”
Zero returned a minute or two later, another drink in his hand. “Okay. Sorry about that, someone got a balloon stuck in the rafters, and Incident thought it was a good idea to retrieve it.”
“Did he get it?” Loops asked.
“Unfortunately, yes.”
“Why unfortunately?”
“Because he got a reward for climbing to the ceiling to get it, and he’ll probably try it again later.” He took a drink. “Anyway. One-eighteenth. We’re pretty small for a legion, which is probably why you haven’t heard of us. One company of the two-twelfth is probably most of our troops.”
“Who’s your General?” Echo asked.
“General Veekah Bala.” He got mostly blank stares and couple heads shaking. “Yeah, well. She’s pretty awesome. Togruta, double-bladed lightsaber. Kinda young, like Skywalker, but…” He paused, like he was looking for the right words.
“More sane?” Fives offered. Trees smirked. Skywalker had quite the reputation.
Zero shrugged. “I guess? Dunno, maybe she’s just crazy in a different way.”
“What do you guys do when you’re that small?” Loops prompted further.
“Special stuff--kind of like Rancor, actually. The demo jobs, the stealth missions, that kind of stuff. Each company has a specialty.”
Do-si-do bumped their elbows together lightly. “What’s yours?”
“I’m in Whisper Company. We do stealth and recon and stuff like that. Firebolt is our demo team--that’s… where Troll and Incident are.” He cast a glance towards the ceiling.
Motion drew Trees’ eye to Fives, who had leaned over to whisper something to Echo. Echo thought for a second, then shook his head, a small smile on his face. With Torrent’s reputation, they might like Firebolt, from the sounds of it.
“The other two are Blitz, who hate clankers and bugs more than anyone I’ve ever met, and Enigma, who have made it their sworn mission to hack General Grievous,” Zero finished.
“Hack him?” Sevenset repeated, voicing the confusion on the others’ faces. Except for the commander, because his helmet was still on.
Zero sighed, scratching his head. “Yeah, I dunno. They figure because he’s a cyborg, they can hack his cybernetic parts, right? They’re obsessed. The general totally enables them, too. The Enigma hazing ritual is to hack into a B1 as fast as you can.”
Trees’ face scrunched up slightly. They just kept battle droids around for initiation? That… didn’t seem safe. He and Fours seemed to have similar skeptical reactions to it, but Fives and Echo were nodding along like it made perfect sense. Trees was so glad to be in the 41st.
“What about Whisper?” Loops wanted to know.
Zero just smiled slyly and held up something so they could see. Trees recognized it. Most pilots he’d met had a lucky charm of some kind, either painted on their armor, or their ship, or it was an object they kept with them at all times. Do-si-do had the latter kind: his charm was a dark brown rock with a hole through the center, always in his utility belt. But suddenly it wasn’t.
Do-si-do’s eyes went comically wide for a second, then his hand was flying to the empty pouch on his belt. “What--hey!”
Zero put the stone on the table and slid it to him. “That’s what we do.”
“Steal stuff?” the pilot shot back, snatching the stone up and clutching it to his chest.
“We always give it back.”
Do-si-do was still frowning darkly as he carefully replaced his charm in his belt.
“Huh,” Sevenset nodded. “You guys sound pretty cool. Shame I only learned about you now, honestly.”
“Yeah, it’s okay, we’re usually out of the way, anyway. You know what that’s like, right, Fours?”
The marine stiffened at the sudden attention, and at the subsequent attention from everyone else. Poor guy. “Uh. Yeah.”
“Oh, hey, how’s that mission with Death going?” Sevenset asked him, looking between the marine and the commander. “That’s how he found you right?”
Fours nodded. “Yeah. It’s… good, I guess?”
“They needed the help, that’s for sure,” the commander added. “Although, Bacara’s doing a pretty good job without the general around.”
Trees nodded, remembering General Mundi had assisted on Geonosis, and likely hadn’t been cleared to return to the Nova Corps yet after the assault. Some of the others looked a little lost, though. He reminded them.
“How long do you think he’ll be out?” Fours asked quietly. Trees couldn’t tell if it was genuine concern behind the question or curiosity.
He shrugged. “No idea. I never actually saw him, he was with the two-twelfth most of the time.”
The commander made some nonverbal reply to that before adding, “Well, at least he’ll be coming back. Geonosis has done worse before.”
He would know. Trees had looked him up after his first appearance, just like he had done for them. Commander Sixes had taken part in the first assault on Geonosis over three years ago. As Trees had dug a little deeper, he’d discovered almost nothing but casualty reports in connection. The commander had lost all but three of his original unit that day. Of the three left, two had died in combat, and the third just had a lot of “unknowns” in the report. That might explain the prickly shell of a personality.
Yeah, well, there weren’t brain worms the first time, Trees thought, rubbing his face tiredly. He then realized he’d spoken out loud when the guys who hadn’t been there first balked at him. Whoops.
“Brain worms?” Loops repeated, recoiling, his nose scrunched in disgust. Fours had a similar, though silent, reaction.
“Should’ve had Blitz Co there,” Zero remarked, barely fazed by the revelation.
The commander was oddly silent.
Trees shook his head. “Yeah, well, I’m tired, so I’m gonna turn in. Make sure you add Fours and Zero to the comm link.”
Sevenset nodded. “Will do, Green Bean.”
Trees leveled a deadpan stare at him. “Zero’s green too, get creative. And you’re not the only ARC now, ‘ARCBoi with five i’s,’” he told him, then clicked off the holoprojector.

The Plan
Summary: It's your birthday (hooray!) and you still have to work (not so hooray). Nevertheless, you can still count on your friends to cheer you up, but not as much as your loveable boyfriend who insists you spend your birthday with him and a romantic dinner, rather than at a party your friends set up.
Warnings: Swearing, drinking, Taika (yes, he gets his own warning), some content may be explicit-ish.
Request: @whatwememeintheshadows
A/N: So people are actually planning their fics nowadays???? Did I not get the memo or something??? These come straight from my head????
THIS IS SO LATE I'M SORRY. Happy (very) belated birthday.

Okay, so maybe work was less of a bitch today, you had to admit. People were nicer to you today, you got an extra thirty minutes added on to your lunch break just because, and, of course, you got a couple of dirty birthday cards and some cash, but that really shouldn’t matter, should it? What did matter, is that you would get to have some you-time, all by yourself, with your vibrator, a couple of movies, and some nice, low calorie ice cream (that tasted like total shit). At least... That’s what you thought would happen.
“You should totally come party with us! I’ve got the booze, Jess has the men, and we’ll make a whole night out of it! Alcohol, strippers, and dancing! How does that sound?” your friend, Enid, reiterated everything for you at least one thousand times today.
“If I wanted a stripper, I’d ask Taika to dye his hair, shave himself everywhere, and oil up a little. That’s the only sight I’d be happy to see, thank you,” you huff and smile. You appreciate the effort to get you out and about, possibly be a little frisky, but your heart just wasn’t in it, and that was much to Taika’s luck.
“Oh, come on. Taika can’t have that much of a grip on you! He has a lot of ‘female friends’, so what’s wrong with you having some ‘male friends’ hm?” Jess cooed to you, but you immediately whirled around, insulted that she would even suggest that you would do such a thing. And you were sure Taika had female friends, yes, but they were just friends. Nothing else. Although, his flirtatious behavior scared you sometimes, at parties. Some of the women would just swarm him, and you feared any one of them would catch his fancy more than you did.
“No. I don’t want strippers at whatever the hell you’re planning,” you stated again, firmly this time. Your two friends whined again, Jess lowering her head in defeat.
“Fine, but can we still bring booze? Invite a few more friends to party?” Enid asked, setting a hand on your shoulder and pleading to you with large eyes.
You chew at your cheek and think for quite some time. Your friends want to throw you a genuine party, and God knows how long it’s been since you’ve hung around a group of unfamiliar faces, especially since you started to date a Hollywood writer. Maybe it was just what you needed. Taika was supposed to be busy for the night, anyway.
You succumbed to the pressure, and nodded. “Okay,” you agreed. “But if we get any noise complaints, your talking to the cops for me.”
“Hell yeah! You’re not going to regret this! Just you wait! Go home and clean your place up a little. I’ll be by in an hour or two to get things set up!” Enid clapped her hands together in mischief, and Jess suddenly looked more spry. You gave her a warning glance, and she only grinned back, before skipping away, chatting gayly with Enid at her side.
You can’t believe the shit you just got yourself into, and you still wouldn’t believe it, the moment Enid and Jess arrived with their arms full of cheap liquor, streamers, finger foods, and a bunch of colorful-looking lights that look like they just came from a Wal-Mart Christmas sale. As soon as you gave them the go-ahead, they started tearing shit open. Between setting up, your phone started to ping over and over again, as well as your friends’ phones. Apparently, just a few hours was enough time to notify everyone in LA about a party, who it was for, and where it was going to be at.
You just sat back and sipped on frozen margaritas (meant for the party, but it's your party so you didn't give two shits), until the party started and there was a heavy flow of people rushing into your home. Invited or uninvited.
When things started getting wild, that's when a pact was made. Enid and Jess would be cleaning up your house after this was over. You were already stepping over beer cans as it was.
You can't even say you were having fun there. You barely knew anyone. Most of the people there were just randoms looking for a good time, and unfortunately you saw some of them getting that good time in a dark corner. You made an excuse to run upstairs and lock all the doors of the bedrooms before anyone could think about getting there. That's what you thought, at least.
The party was getting to be too much, too quickly. In haste, you locked yourself into your bedroom, and took a step back. You could still hear the muffled voices and loud, posh laughter on the other side of the door. Those girls would pay. You rush over to your window, overlooking your backyard and see people divebombing into your pool, creating waves and getting people outside of the pool wet. People were leaving their trash everywhere, and many red, plastic cups floated in the (for now) clear waters. You didn't know how much more you could take. Maybe parties weren't your thing after all. Especially with strangers.
You sit back on your bed and you don't even bother looking out the window anymore. It was best to stay inside your room, if you didn't want to be molested or assaulted by some dumbass who thinks it's okay to anonymously grope women in crowded areas. Your face buries in your hands, griping to yourself how this would be over in a few hours. Right?
There's a subtle knock on your door, and you jump. It's in the regular, stiff-three order, so you are very hesitant about going and getting it. Then, there comes the "shave and a haircut" tune. Not a very good one, and kind of slurred, guessing by the way there was a loud thud at the very end, the person knocking was shoved against the door. Damn you and your pity.
You're quick to move, despite the strong feeling telling you not to. You just knew some poor soul was being smooshed out there. Fuck, you were nervous. This was screaming bad idea, but you were going to pull through anyway. The plan in your head seemed childish, but it should work fine if the person was desperate enough to get in. One quick swipe of the door, and you're golden! Surely...
You flick the doorknob lock and gulp, keeping a tight grip. On the count of three-- and after having to restart because another desperate knock jumbled up your thoughts-- you sent the door flying open. Sure enough, a heavy body came tumbling in with it, tripped, tried to balance, then ended up crash-landing cartoonishly into your bed, bonking their head a tad on the wooden post at the end of the frame. You hissed a little bit, then closed the door again. You rushed to their aid as the person looked up.
"I thought you liked private parties more than this," a soft, kiwi accent cooed at you, obviously through unbridled pain. This bewildered you even more.
Taika was sitting on the floor, legs extended out in front of him, making him look like a giant from your angle, and he was dressed in a blue tux, black dress shirt, and polished black shoes. Well, they seemed a little scuffed now.
"Shit, Taika-- what the fuck are you doing here?" you drop to your knees and cradle his aching head. He winced at the touch, but was too happy to see you again to deny it.
"Well, I came to take you out on a surprise birthday dinner. Maybe pick up a bottle of wine and go dancing with my favorite person, you, under moonbeams and twighlight," his head bobbled from side to side, which didn't help his animated character, "but it seems to me you have company... and a lot of it."
You sigh and brush an unkempt curl back into place while he cheekily grins at you. "This wasn't my idea," you murmur. "Friends set this up. They'll also be the ones to take it down. I didn't really want to spend my birthday with anyone this year. Makes me feel old."
"Well, you seriously should have known someone was about to stop you from taking another bite of that shitty ice cream in your freezer. They dished it out in shot glasses down there. Even a sober chick couldn't handle the taste," Taika snorted playfully and you rolled your eyes. He seemed to be taking this situation surprisingly well. It was weird. "But it was much to my misfortune that your 'friends' got to you before I could. Maybe I should have settled on a birthday lunch, but that didn't sound too appealing to me."
"Would have been much better than the chicken salad and dry-ass piece of cake I had for lunch today," you fired back. He sighed again and stood up with a groan. You followed with him.
"What now?" he mumbled, stroking the stache on his upper lip, then letting the tips of his fingers wander down to his smooth, freshly shaved cheeks.
"Well, we're both stuck here, so I suppose we settle in for the night and wait it out." You plop yourself down on your bed again and just stare up at him. He doesn't move, however. His eyes were focused on the window, more specifically the lock on it, and he was nibbling at his bottom lip. He was thinking. Some people might call it strange to watch him think sometimes. He really was like a cartoon. With one tap of his foot, he spun around on his heel and faced you.
"New plan," he clapped his hands together. "Get dressed."
You were confused for the next fifteen minutes or so. He helped you pick out a deep blue dress that would somewhat match his and black heels. He was escorting you all over the room with his hand on your lower back. He even tried to do your makeup for you, but he was so inexperienced, you had to take over. The last time he had to do someone's makeup was on the set of the original, five-minute What We Do in the Shadows film.
While you finished your makeup, he was practically smooching your window. He was staring at it like a dog asking to go outside. It made you a bit nervous, seeing the cogwheels turn in his head. He took your hand and lead you to the window, unlocking it and pushing it up.
"Want to go first?" he said behind a proud smile. When he only received silence and a pure, "what the fuck," stare back to his face, he shrugged, and stepped out the window himself. Luckily, you knew fully well he wasn't about to fall flat on his face and die on the pavement below. You had a screened back porch, with a roof over it's head as well, since the seasons tend to get very hot and sticky and mosquitoes just love to lay visits. He stepped onto the roof, trying not to bring too much attention to himself. Once he had bounced down, he brushed himself off, then looked up at you, expectantly.
"Come on, then! Don't have all night!" he hollered and waved to you. "Need me to catch you?"
You gulped, not bothering to answer him. You gently scooted your lower half out the window and taking your heels into your hand. You didn't want to break an ankle on the landing. "Lord, give me strength," you muttered, squeezed your eyes shut, then took a leap of faith. You tried not to squeal as the rushing air flew by you like sticky wind, but before you knew it, your feet touched slanted ground. You felt like you were about to tumble, but strong hands met your waist and kept you up.
"Beautiful!" Taika beamed and kissed your flushed cheek.
"I hate you sometimes," you slapped his chest and made him laugh. He took your hand and started leading you to the other side of the porch roof, and came to the end, where your driveway supposedly was. Parked dead center was Enid's big, black SUV. Tall enough to just be a little hop away from the roof.
"One more, leap, dear?" Taika was on the move again, but you grabbed his sleeve before he could actually make the jump.
"Taika, no. That's Enid's car. She already spends so much on gas, think of how pissed she'll be if she has to remove dents from her roof!" you explain, nervous from the outcome of this little plan of yours.
"Sweetheart," Taika said airily, turning his full attention to you and taking your hand again. "If she was a good friend, she would have known a massive party like this would have pissed you off. Plus, I don't think just cleaning the house is going to get even with this God awful day. So, why not put a few dusty footprints on her car, hm?" Taika was back to grinning, and before you could say anymore, he had leapt away and landed on top of the car with a large thud. He motioned to you with a swipe of his hand. You were in way too deep with him to give up on him now.
You followed through, heels swinging in one hand, and he caught you again like the perfect, Maori prince charming he was.
Car hop, after car hop, he lead the way and made sure you were okay with every stop, until you reached a small enough car to hop down, scale the lawn and make it to his jeep.
"That was," you said, breathless. You couldn't find the right words, and Taika just chuckled at you.
"Exciting?" he filled in the blank space on his own, cocking an eyebrow.
"Yeah," you laugh, fanning your chest and brushing a single strand of hair back. "That's a good word for it."
"Well, excitement doesn't stop here," he opened your door into the jeep for you, bowing respectfully and playing everything up for you, like you were royalty. "I have everything set up for you to have a great night with yours truly. As long as everything goes according to the plan this time..."

Interview with Billie for the Kerrang Yearbook. Sounds like this took place around 2000-2001?
Hello Billie Joe. A bit pissed at the Kerrang Awards weren't you? "I was drinking with Papa Roach the night before. Everybody went to see The Cult in Brixton. All the American bands like Papa Roach and Queens Of The Stone Age were there. I felt terrible when I got out of bed to go to the Kerrang Awards." Who ended up worse off - you or Coby Dick? "Sometimes Coby can't even hold it together when he's sober! He's super-hyper all the time. You have to say, 'Coby, turn it off for 2 minutes - I'm in my bunk!' Then he'll turn it off and you can get into a decent conversation." You experienced some difficulty in getting off the stage after accepting your Kerrang Award. "Award's shows freak me out - I'm so scared shitless of those things so I end up doing stupid things. I never theought I'd ever win an award for playing music. Watching all our videos being shown up on the screen, I just looked at Mike and Tre and said. 'Does this mean we're old now?' I can be such a self-conscious freak. I just don't know how to be cool." What's the healthiest thing you've done this year? "I like to keep myself fit. I run, I skateboard, and i'll hit the weights every other day. You reach a certain age when you've gotta start looking out for yourself. I'm staring down the barrel of 30, you know? My dad really let himself fall to @#%$ and I don't want to end up like that. Theres a preconcieved idea about musicians and punk musicians in particular that we have to self-destruct, and I can't buy into that. I like to breathe. Like like it when my heart beats - Its a really cool thing." Have you cut down on your drinking recently? "When i'm on tour I drink all day long with the guys. There's nothing else to do. But i've been at homea while. There are many, many moods to Billie Joe. There's drunk me and theres not-drunk me." What have you learned about being a father during the past year? "You learn new things every day as your kids' characters and personalities are building. Joey is 6 now, he's not a baby at all, he's a little boy. And Jacob, who's 3, is a maniac. The one rule I have is that I never expose them to television." What have you learned about Tre and Mike this past year? "Wow (long pause). I learned that Mike is a Bob Dylan fan, which was kind of suprising. I'm not the biggest fan but I definately appreciate Bob Dylan. And Tre is becoming really fluent in Spanish. His wife is Nicaraguan." What color has your hair been this year? "I shaved my head when I got off the road. Its been black. I haven't really been changing it. When the boy groups started dyeing their hair, I had to stop." Any fashion tips you'd care to pass on to Kerrang readers? "I've been wearing the same pants since High School! Never been into the Versace thing." Best punk rock song you've heard this year? "Last Nite by The Strokes. They're not really a punk band, but those guys have a really cool outlook and a good sensibility about how they present themselves. All the rap rock metal bands have lost that rock'n'roll element, and i'm just a sucker for good rock'n'roll music." What song has been stuck in your head this year, even though you hate it? "Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm. It was bad when Michael Jackson sang it, but it's even worse second time around! Y'know, I think Michael Jackson should join Slipknot. His face looks so bizarre now, its like he's wearing a mask." Are Slipknot still the scariest dudes in rock? "In about a year from now, if they're still as popular as they are now, they'll be as American as apple pie. That's sort of what happened to Marilyn Manson. When he came out he was really scary looking, like 'Jesus Christ! This guy is a maniac!' But now its, 'Oh, theres Marilyn, mowing the lawn, no big deal.' I like Manson, but it's funny how the most normal people end up being the most threatening, and the people who are scariest at first end up kinda normal. That's the dissapointing thing about shock value. Neil Young is more threatening than Slipknot just because he's smarter and has more of an opinion." How much fun did you have on tour in 2001? "It's really exciting at first because you're in different places every day, but after a while i'd rather be home. I get into really long conversations with my wife, I talk to my kids a lot, I'll write little notes and draw pictures for them and fax them to the house. Our sets are getting longer, sometimes we'll play up to three hours, and its because there is no rock'n'roll lifestyle for me other than that. I'm a devoted husband and a devoted father, and so all that decadent bullshit is not my thing. You start to wonder, 'Is this the life for me?' But then I get home and I dont know what the @#%$ to do with myself because i'm not playing music. People have looked at us and gone, 'Obviously these guys have no place to go after the gig because they're still on stage!'" Where were you on September 11? "I was on West Coast time, so it was really early in the morning for me. I saw the towers fall, and it felt like the world was gonna end. What amazes me is that Tony Blair is almost heading the coalition by himself! Does he realise what he's getting his country into? This is @#%$ serious! There's been a lot of shocking words used: the 'crusade against terrorism'. The las thing you say to someone from the Middle East is the word 'crusade'." After September 11, do you share America's renewed sense of patriotism? "No way. I can't really see myself as a patriot. I don't see what happened in New York as an act of war, it's an act of terrorism. Every country has had to deal with terrorism in some form, and this is the first time America has ever seen it and they dont know what to do, so everyone is clinging to these war slogans. All the flags is people's cars and homes - it just seems kind of gross to me." Has American learnt from the tragedy? "I hope some good stuff comes out of this. People have become so self-absorbed and dedicated to their careers. I'm not a person to wave a flag for family values or anything like that, but there comes a time when your relationships and your family is the most important thing, not whether you're making $100,000 every year. Thats what I hope comes out of it - that people realise the important things in life." Six Of The Best Best Friend: " Valium. Lots of plane flights, man. Valium only lasts four hours, so if you're on an 11 hour flight take two and a half." Best advice: "Put your head between your knees if you think you are gonna pass out." Best Ass: "Tre Cool. Not only because he has one, but because he is one." Personal Best: The pinnacle moment for me this year, musically, was playing Reading. It was a great show. There's so many bands nowadays who can't play live, but to actually do it and have people singing along and getting something sentimental out of it at the same time, thats rare, and we achieved that at Reading." Best Night Out: "The furst night I went out after september 11. I really went for it. American has these feelings of its days being numbered. It's like a country that has just got cancer, but the cancer's in remission. A lot of people are doing all the things they've always talked about doing. I hadn't partied really hard in a while, so that's what I did. I went to a couple of bars with Mike and Tre and our producer. We got loud and had a good time." Best Buy: " My cellphone. The ring tone is just a goofy tune. And it vibrates well in my pocket."

Okay. It's like 4am and I need to share with you my AU over this fandom.
The post must be filled with misspelling or some sentence can make no sense buuuttt sorry I guess.
I'm not completely in the fandom but I freaking like the fancontent (I read a LOT of fancontent) sooo anyway. I saw this headcanon time to time so I put my idea in.
MIRACULOUS LADYBUG (honestly right now I have a fever for Ml fancon and fic sooo probably my next post will be ML content )
Honestly the headcanon risk to be kinda messed up and just a big less to read.
Anyway.
Rock/metal! Marinette (with a lil' bit of nerd!Adrien) AU
Sooo (I'm going with point and plus I just translate what I've written
• listening Jagged Stone (and she is a big fan)
• listen a lot a rock band, punk and metal band too.
• Like the old rock French band (like telephone - Which is a real French band if you want listen -)
• Under cut, that's she cut herself. Because she not going to paid 30€ for that and because she did that behind her parents back. She used to cut her mother and father hair (she like doing her family's hair -don't know it's the sentence lean something-)

• she's done almost all a piercing during her rebellious phase (in middle of her middle school) because dang she not going to paid 75€ for a hole on her ear (disclaimer : do not pierced yourself it's dangerous and must be do by a professional, I know that because I have personally some piercing and it's better to do it in a shop with someone you can trust)
•Nor is she oblivious about her piercing. She saw a LOT of video about piercing. She clean the space that's she wan going to pierced like a pro, an she use medical needless (that she buy in pharmacy - you can buy catheter on pharmacy-) She only go on shot for four of her piercing (her tongue, her lip, nose and mouth piercing)
• For a long time, her classmates thought that she pierced in a shop.
• They know the truth during a party at Juleka's place. They're was playing truth OU dare and Alya (who dream to get a piercing) Say that she would love to have a piercing (her parents said that will never happen under theire roof) Marinette tell her that she can pierced her because she have already pierced herself (begging in 6eme -I think it's the equivalent of the 6th grade-) Her first piercing was the helix's (all her classmates are kinda shook )
• oddly a week after the party, when Alya Returned from Marinette home she got home with two new helix on her right ear.

• Her bedroom it's a weird but pleasant mixed of skull, pink skull, and random things associated with rock/punk style with pink
• like in her bedroom, you can see some studded and chains object and just Beside and little stuff pink kitten teddy and sit beside the kitten she have A goat with static crosses teddy (also pink )

-To be honest now, it's like 5am and I never thought that translate some shitty idea take so long xD need to take a break. Now it's midday Soo let's go continued-
• When her class know she can do hair, she became theire unofficial hairdresser ( everyone paid her event if in the beginning she refused to be paid. Everyone try to snuk in their money in her stuff in the weirdest way possible) and when she opened deisgn commission she do some on their clothes.

- No Marinette you're not too "cool" and to "rock'n'roll" for not eating your carrots. Now get your butt here and finish your vegetables.
- *sad Minecraft villager sound *
• People think that Marinette is some cold deadpan mean bitch before Alya come in her class. Alya had always know people like that (who look cold but are more afraid and shy to talk to people and just look scary ) Alya is the first friend (really friend) of Marinette because she don't give a shit about her look. When the two begging to be friends, the class notice that Marinette it's not mean like that though she is. And the class begging to talk to Marinette and be friend with her.
• She become deputies of her class because she's done with Chloe's bullshit and everyone accepted rapidly to have her like class president. Everyone is kinda shook about organization et Benevolent's Marinette can be. After that everyone really like Marinette and she like the mom friends of everyone but everyone know that she can always be scary especially if she angry and someone pissed her off more.
• Her class know about her deisgn hobit and dream during de hats conteste and that's she made almost all her clothes.
• When she hang out with friends concerts (people she met at some rock concert ) they decided to have a tattoo. Marinette have a Ladybug under her right foot. Alya is the first to know because during a sleepover, Marinette forget to hide it. Her parents are the seconds to know (same mistake she forgets to hide it with socks). Adrien know while being Chat Noir (he was hang out at her balcony and she was laying on the floor and he see it )
• inverse Crush au. Adrien fell in love to Marinette because she's the first to see who he is and don't try to put him on a pedestal and Adrien can see that's she is very different that her look can send like personality. Marinette love Chat Noir because he is her very first friend that she thrust completely regardless of her look. (Because even in the beginning she still suspicious about Alya)
• When she is Ladybug almost all of her peircings disappeared (her nose ring, stretch, helix's and her miraculous stay)
• she were her miraculous on her second ear lobe holes
• Tikki listening rock and punk music (honestly I want to see Tikki dancing with eavy hard metal in the room)
•Even she know she can't do that. she brings abandoned animals at home. She clean them and feed them in her rope before take them to a refugee or a veterinary. She let for the first time Jagged Stone because she found Fang hidden in a alley. She noticed that he have a collar so she bring him up to a veterinary where she have the habit to go. The collard have the information for contacted Jagged. Fang letting Marinette take him because she have the same smell that Jagged, some metal and vegetal leather.
• Marinette help Adrien to scare his fan. All of them just run away from Marinette. She become unofficially his bodyguard in school.
•She know how to defend herself and scare people because she go to a lot of underground concert and it's not always nice.
• She swear like a sailor. Not in front of her parents. She swear a lot when she frustrated or angry. And know Hawkmoth know that he is forbidden to send a Akuma past 2.30am, because the last Akuma have to deal with a really really angry ladybug (that was the first night since a very long week of sleep deprived and anxiety and a lot of work plus she was on her period which hurt like hell so she was pissed) No one speak about this day. Because the Akuma was running away from her

• Marinette hide her shyness with her "cold" style. But when she became friend with her classmates she more confortable and became very protective around them, a dont' hesitates to become physically violent. (Happen most of the time with, Alix (because she don't know when to stop before begging a fight) Rose Juleka and Nathanael (who are most of the time bully) and Adrien (she save him from his fan and stupid fuck boy ))

There's No One There, 1/? (Group Fic) - Marmalade
Summary: One student missing multiple classes without warning can be explained away but when more girls start disappearing, it can’t be dismissed. Jaida, Jackie, Gigi, and Crystal may not be friends but if it’s to figure out what’s going on, they’re willing to work together.
A/N: This is my first story for here, I feel like I’m maybe not the best at starting stories but I’m excite for what’s in store so hopefully you’ll stick it out. I’ve never written this genre before so it’ll be an adventure for all of us.
—
“Do you know Nicky?”
Jackie looked up from her book, a sci-fi novel that she had tucked in the sleeve of a medical journal, to see Gigi standing before her. She was practically the queen bee of the school and seeing her without her usually circle of friends in tow was a rarity. While Jackie was by no means a faceless member of the student body, her participation in the honor club and the drama club as well as her status as the lone nurse’s aide did well tying a name to the face, she hadn’t been expecting Gigi to approach her out of the blue, the two shared few classes and have seldom spoken before.
“-She’s in our year, French-“
“Yeah, what about her?”
“Well, we share a dorm and she didn’t come in by lights out and then today in English, she wasn’t at her desk. I know you work with the nurse; I was just wondering if she came in yesterday.”
“I don’t think so? Maybe she had a family emergency come up and had to leave earlier in the day.” Gigi pursed her lips and folded her arms, leaning against the wall rather than join Jackie on the bench.
“She’s my best friend, if she had to leave and didn’t have the chance to say goodbye, I feel like she would have left a note for me.” Jackie closed her book and set it down.
“Okay, yeah it’s weird but she’s probably be back in a few days and she’ll be able to tell you herself.”
After a moment of looking down at her feet, Gigi nodded and pulled away from the wall.
“You’re probably right. If she had to see family in France and had to catch a flight then maybe she didn’t have time to say anything…Thanks.” Gigi made her leave and Jackie returned to her book, not dwelling on the subject.
Gigi had approached her on a Thursday morning. The days rolled by and Jackie hardly thought about it, Gigi hadn’t approached her again, but as Monday arrived and Jackie walked into her history class, she noted that the desk usually occupied by the French girl was vacant and Jackie spent the class making brief glasses as if the girl would magically show up when she wasn’t looking.
If she did have to go back to France, Jackie told herself, then it would make sense if she had to have a longer absence because of the travel times. That was probably it.
-
Crystal peered out from the corner. A decent number of girls were passing through the hall on their way to their next class, all she had to do was not draw any attention to herself. Crystal hurried out and tried to melt into the crowd, picking up her pace as she passed by the woman with jet black hair that stood outside one of the doors.
“Crystal.” Vice Principal Visage’s voice was stern and Crystal stopped in her tracks with a stammer. “What did I say about dying your hair?”
“You said I could dye it natural colors and it’s ah-nh- a lot of people have naturally red or orange hair! Not here but- in like- the deepest…darkest depths of Scotland?”
Miss Visage stared her down with that disbelieving slight sneer she gave any student who made excuses she didn’t like. “…It’s pink.” Crystal was trying to smile like she didn’t know what was coming. “I am not going to have this conversation again with you, you have until Monday to change your hair otherwise-“
“-You’ll shave my head, I know.” Crystal was fairly certain that it was a hollow threat but V.P. Visage was known for being the single most cut throat faculty member. Miss Visage opened her mouth to say more but as the bell rang and Crystal used the opportunity to slip away.
Monday came and Crystal forgot to buy hair dye when the weekend bus came to take the girls into town for daytrips. She didn’t think too much of it until she found herself sitting in the office. Miss Visage was in a meeting at the time and an incensed teacher sat Crystal down in a chair and gave a long-winded lecture about disrespecting the school’s image with her delinquent hair. Honestly, Crystal had stopped listening a while ago and stared straight ahead at the wall with her hands in her lap, the only thing on her mind was the potential repercussions.
An hour later, Crystal stood over the sink in the communal bathroom in her dorm hall with a pair of scissors in her hand and a chunk of her hair missing. The teacher hadn’t even cut it directly on the top or the side, nor was it close enough to her hair line to try to make it into passable bangs so now Crystal scrambled to salvage it. More clips of hair pooled while a few girls giggled and walked out of the bathroom, she could hear them say “Weird girl’s playing hair stylist” as they passed someone walking in.
“What’re you doing?”
Crystal glanced up in the mirror and saw Jaida standing there, her expression was a mix of dry judgement and genuine confusion.
“Uhh- just um, trying to fix this.” The hand holding the scissors circled over the mess that was her hair right now.
“…Do I want to know why?”
“Something about disrespect, I wasn’t listening to be honest.” Jaida let out an amused chortle and stood idly by as Crystal resolved to trying to cut the other side just as short. Another large clump of hair fell into the sink and Crystal looked up to realize that now both the top of her hair and the sides were scruffy and stood out on ends.
“Child- why don’t you just cut the back of it and give yourself a pixie cut?”
“Because I’ve been trying to get my hair to my waist for years! I don’t want to start over now.” Crystal resolve to trying to make the sides even shorter before realizing that Jaida was still there. “What’re you doing here?” It wasn’t like there was a line for the stalls or the showers and the two knew each other from having to work on a project together once but that didn’t blossom into a friendship so much of a ‘If I’m at a place where I don’t know a single person and I see you, I’ll go say hi’ dynamic. Jaida shrugged and looks at her nails.
“I just don’t want to be around my dormmate right now. She’s being weird.” Crystal put her scissors down and turned to look at the other girl. “Jan is normally like the peppiest bitch I know but she’s been real down lately. I’ve asked her about it a couple of times now but like, she just won’t tell me what’s going on. Bitch, she keeps going ‘you wouldn’t get it, no one gets it’ and I got to a point where I told her that if she won’t tell me to go tell a counselor. It’s just not great knowing that she’s having some kind of problem and there’s apparently nothing I can do because she won’t say what the problem is.”
“Is it true that she quit drama and the soccer team? Midterms are in a few weeks so what if she’s just super super stressed about them then BAM!- two full weeks of spring break and she comes back to school doing a big musical number. I think a lot of girls in our level are really worried about exams, Widow’s been kind of out of it too these past few days. She hasn’t felt like dancing, Widow of all people! Like- h-can you imagine?”
“Doesn’t sound like her. It’s not like I have perfect grades in all my classes either but some of these girls are really letting the exams get to them, I’m telling you… Did you hear Nicky got sick or something like that?”
“No, really?”
“I don’t know exactly what’s going on but apparently she had to leave sometime last week. No warning or anything. Gone. Just like that.”

---------------------------------------------
This year's Halloween will be the saddest for Chloe and Dan. The last one where their baby girl can still be considered a "kid" dressing up and getting candy.
Trixie couldn't be more excited.
Trixie has been waiting for this day to come ever since Maze told her about all the wonders of mischief night. Knowing that officially next year she can partake drove her bananas.
But, that doesn't mean Trixie was 100% happy about this being the last trick-or-treating for her. Who wouldn't miss all that free candy and cash [with Maze by her side, like always]? That's why, for this last kid-like Halloween, Trixie is getting everyone together to celebrate!
"I'd love to know how this little meeting ended up at my penthouse." Lucifer groans. He leans against his bar and downs a shot of his usual drink.
"Because you lost last game night and owed her one." Chloe chuckles next to him and nudges. Lucifer rolls his eyes.
"Your spawn is a cheater."
"Gee, thanks. Wonder where she gets it from."
"You're welcome." Maze adds in.
"All right everyone! May I have your attention please!" Trixie steps away from baby Charlie to stand in front of the TV. She smiles when everyone looks to her, "Since this is my last trick-or-treat night I want to make it extra special! I would like you all to come out walking with me wearing costumes I picked for you, and then enjoy a little after party at Mom's place!"
"Don't you have other urchins around your age to do this with?" Lucifer says.
"If you have questions or comments you have to raise your hand!" Trixie says with hands on her hips and a raised chin.
"Oh for the love of-" Chloe and Maze nudge him on either side. Trixie holds in her laughter. She loves pushing the Devil's buttons.
Lucifer raises his hand with an annoyed glare, "Yes, Lucifer?"
"Again, you little demon, why aren't you doing this with other urchins?"
"My friends are all too old already. Last year was it for the rest of them. Besides," Trixie looks back around the room and holds her arms out wide, "I'd much rather do this with you guys! You're more special to me!"
"Awww, and we love you too mini me!" Ella gushes. Her and Trixie fist bump the air.
"I'm sure everyone here would love to spend this Halloween with you, monkey." Chloe smiles. Everyone in the room, besides Lucifer and Charlie, smile and share their agreement.
"Awesome! Ok, so let me give you guys your costume pictures!" Trixie picks up her pink folder from the coffee table.
"Alright big me, I'd like you to be this!" Trixie hands Ella a piece of paper, "The family's crazy scientist!"
"Easy peasy!" Ella winks.
"Amenadiel, Linda, and little Charlie, here's your costumes!" Trixie walks over to the family and hands them their papers. Amenadiel chokes on a laugh, holds his paper up to Lucifer and the Devil almost dies of laughter.
"I think it's very cute, Trixie!" Linda says. She grabs Amenadiel's paper so she can hold the three pictures together: Zeus, Alcmene, and Hercules.
Amenadiel groans, but otherwise doesn't comment.
"These are for you Mommy and Daddy!" Trixie hands a paper to both of her parents. Chloe's is a 1940s noir detective while Dan's is a classic black pants, black and white striped shirt, and black eye mask criminal.
The two parents share a look. Obviously their daughter knows more than they thought.
"Here's yours Maze!" Maze takes the paper and stifles a laugh.
"What is it?" Lucifer tries to look over but his demon hides the paper away.
She smiles at him, "Oh, you'll see. You'll love it." She snickers.
"Annnd lastly, Lucifer!" Trixie proudly hands him the last paper.
He doesn't take it. He's too appalled.
"You can not be serious." He says down at the little girl while Maze laughs hysterically.
"Oh come on, Lucifer. It can't be that bad." Chloe says and looks at the paper. She stares at the image of a drawn man, "Who is that anyway?"
"It's Lucifer!" Trixie says happily.
"Fake Lucifer. Why would I want to be a fake me?"
"Because the kid loves the comics." Maze says and lays her paper on the bar counter for Lucifer to see. It's the comic Mazikeen in her battle gear with the half white mask.
"Seriously?" He says.
"Well, you don't lie so I picked something where you won't have to pretend!" Trixie pipes in, "I think you two are pretty similar."
Lucifer groans. He wasn't about to tell the little urchin that she was right.
"It's just for one night, Lucifer. Besides, I'm curious how different you'll look." Chloe says eyeing him up.
Dad be damned, "Fine, fine." Lucifer takes the paper from Chloe and crosses his arms. He looks away so she doesn't see the blush.
"Yay!" Trixie runs back to her original spot and claps her hands, "This is going to be so much fun! One week everybody!"
---------------------------------------------
Chloe, Dan, and Trixie are out for family day shopping for Halloween supplies.
Since no one would be home in either house there was no need to buy candy, but of course they get just as much as they usually do. Dan takes Trixie to look at all the Halloween decor while Chloe strolls through the costume aisles.
Luckily, she finds the correct outfits for her and Dan, as well as more accessories for Trixie's last President of Mars costume.
Before she rejoins them something catches the detective's eye. She stares at a picture and remembers Lucifer's words.
"How about a skimpy detective?"
"I'm not walking around half naked, Lucifer."
"Then how about being naked under that humongous trench coat?"
"Lucifer-"
"Come on, Detective! Give me something to look forward to!"
Chloe smiles. She takes the costume and goes to the cashier to purchase it. Hiding it in her purse so Dan and Trixie don't see, she bites her lip in excitement.
Hope he doesn't get offended…
---------------------------------------------
"I feel ridiculous." Amenadiel mutters at his reflection.
"I quite like it." Linda comes in. She's holding a dressed up Charlie and stands next to Amenadiel, "I think you look beautiful."
"You look beautiful, Linda. And so does our son." Amenadiel smiles. He caresses Linda's face and runs his fingers through her curled ponytail, then gives his son a kiss on the cheek.
"Lore conflicts aside, I think this is an amazing family costume." Linda says. She smiles cheekily and tugs on Amenadiel's robes, "Easy to remove too."
---------------------------------------------
"Annnd...TA-DA!" Ella jumps into her living room and spins around. She has that classic crazy old white hair wig on, a white lab coat with huge black buttons, arm length black gloves accompanied with thigh high black boots. She also has safety goggles on her head, and her lab coat is splattered with multiple colors.
"What cha think!?" Ella waits excitedly for an answer.
Margaret clucks once, then returns to her dinner.
Ella sighs and mutters, "Bob would be impressed…"
---------------------------------------------
"I am not dying my hair!"
"You're acting like it's actually permanent. News flash: you're the Devil. Your hair will be back to normal in the morning."
"No."
Maze gives an over dramatic sigh, "Had a feeling this would happen. You got three options Lucifer: you let me bleach and dye your hair," she points to the products on the bathroom counter, "you let me use this non-permanent spray stuff, but I got to use a shit ton of it to make your hair blond," she points to the ten sprays of blond color, "oooor you wear this." Maze pulls out a blond wig from her duffle bag.
"That looks horrendous."
"Yeah, well it's the only one I got. It itches too."
"...The sprays?"
"Will most likely make your hair more banana colored."
Lucifer lets out a frustrated growl, "Fine! Do the damn dye."
"You've become such a baby, I swear." Maze mutters, but quickly gets to work before he changes his mind.
Hours past and Lucifer is officially blond. He inspects himself in the mirror, "Not bad right?" Maze smiles.
"I don't see how blond is better…"
"'Cuz blonds are hot, Lucifer."
Lucifer just hums in response. Maze opens up the bathroom cabinet and pulls out his razor and shaving cream. She shoves the two items into his hands:
"Start working on that baby face. I'm going to change into my outfit."
More time passes. Maze comes back into the bathroom clad in her old leather armor. She stares at Lucifer who is touching his clean shaven face.
"Smooth like a baby's bottom?" She jokes.
Lucifer, however, looks more somber, "More like back in Heaven."
"Ah…" Maze coughs. She rushes over and puts his arms down, "Here," she hands him a contact case containing blue colored contacts, "put these in so I can get started on that scar."
---------------------------------------------
"You look amazing!" Trixie says to everyone as they enter her Mom's place. Each one also compliments her updated President of Mars outfit.
Everyone besides Lucifer and Maze are here, and Chloe gets a bit worried. She goes to text Lucifer when the door rings once more.
"Woooah!" Trixie says, mouth agape.
"Klein mensie." Maze says in her native tongue to Trixie. She smiles, a thing that looks eerie with the half mask on, and walks into the space.
"Holy cow! Lucifer! You look so different!"
"And it's all your fault, spawn."
Chloe speed walks to the open doorway and sees Lucifer. A different Lucifer. Pretty much the Lucifer from the comic come to life. He wore a simple black suit and tie, not too unusual, but coupled with the blond hair, blue eyes, face scar and clean face left Chloe speechless.
"Psst, mommy." Trixie pokes her, "You’re starting to drool."
Lucifer and Trixie laugh when Chloe's hand flies up to her face to wipe away the drool and shut her mouth. Trixie walks back to the living room so Lucifer can step closer to Chloe.
"I'm pleased all this torture hasn't gone to waste." Lucifer smiles seductively.
Chloe smiles back and steps into his open arms.
"Ok everyone!" Trixie yells while Lucifer and Chloe share a kiss, "Let's go get ourselves some candy!"
---------------------------------------------
Trixie's last night of trick-or-treating went better than she expected. She received sooo much candy, and money thanks to Maze when her parents weren't looking, that she'll be set till next Halloween! When everyone returned to Chloe's place Trixie smiled warmly at how happy and carefree everyone looked.
No crimes to solve. No drama. No worries.
Amenadiel and Linda leave around 8 pm to get a very sleepy Charlie ready for bed. Dan leaves with Ella next when she tells him of a party she's going to. Chloe and Lucifer leave by 11pm to get ready for his own party.
Now Maze and Trixie were alone.
"Ready to start your first mischief night early, little human?"
Trixie smiles, all teeth, "Hell yeah!"
---------------------------------------------
"So, you'll look normal again in the morning? That fast?" Chloe asks as she and Lucifer step into his penthouse.
"Good ol' angel genes, darling." He replies as he pours drinks.
"Hmm."
Lucifer looks at her, eyebrow raised in question, "Do you...like this look?"
"Not as much as your normal, no. But," Chloe runs her fingers through his blond hair, "it is...different." Lucifer closes his eyes and hums and the feeling of her fingers in his hair.
The two share a couple of drinks before the party officially starts downstairs. Feeling braver, thanks to the drinks, Chloe motions Lucifer to stand at the bottom of his stairs. She climbs up and stands in front of his bed.
"What are you planning, Detective?" Lucifer's smile is contagious.
"Your surprise."
Chloe slowly unbuttons her trench coat, taking in Lucifer's eyes following her movements. Once the last button is undone she shrugs off the coat while simultaneously throwing her fedora.
Lucifer sucks in air and slowly releases as his eyes roam her outfit. She was wearing a short tight red and black dress with fishnet tights. The top of the dress is cut dangerously low, showing much of her chest and stomach. She turns in a slow circle so Lucifer can see how the back bottom was basically a thong, with a classic devil tail attached.
When she faces him again one hand goes up to touch the horns on her head while the other slowly slides down her open chest, "So, what do you think?"
"I think," Lucifer stalks up the stairs, "that I'll never again be able to make fun of a devil costume thanks to you. Which means," Lucifer reaches her. He grabs her hair with one hand and tugs down, opening her neck to him. With the other hand he grabs her bottom.
His lips ghost over her ear, "you need to be punished, my delectable devil."

Before MSA + 1: Halloween
Arthur had managed to put together something that acted like a diaper but which fitted into his pocket instead of around the hamster. “It takes a little bit to put them together though…”
Cadence seemed happy with the pocket diaper considering how much time she was spending in Arthur’s shirt and coat pockets.
“I wonder if you could incorporate it into your Halloween costume,” mused Vivi.
“Uh…What’s Halloween?” asked Arthur.
Sydney and Lewis gave Arthur startled looks. “You don’t know what Halloween is?!”
Arthur panicked a bit as he realized this was something everyone was supposed to know about. “My parents were super religious,” he said quickly. Sydney and Lewis seemed to accept it.
“Halloween evolved from the Celtic celebration of Samhain,” explained Vivi. “It was the ending of the year at sun down, but the new year didn’t start until the sun rose. Being outside of time as it were meant that ghosts and the like had an easier time manifesting. It probably makes magic easier and stronger too. At some point, people started wearing scary outfits to try and blend in or scare away the spirits. That ritual eventually became putting on costumes for fun and, in the case of kids, going around to houses and asking for treats.”
The other kids were staring at her in surprise at the info dump, while Arthur was wondering if this meant Halloween was technically a pagan holiday.
“Actually, the Catholic church took a lot of pagan holidays and incorporated them into their religion. Christmas takes place in December because that’s when a big festival called Saturnalia took place in the Roman empire. Evidence suggests that Jesus was actually born in Spring,” continued Vivi as if she’d predicted Arthur’s thoughts.
The more Arthur learned the more he wondered if the adults in his early life knew what they were doing.
“Anyway…My dad makes cosplay as a side job so if you want he can make you guys costumes too,” said Sydney.
Lewis nodded. “He always makes costumes for us.”
Vivi perked up. “Really?”
Sydney nodded. “But nothing super complicated, okay? He’s gotta budget.”
“What’s cosplay?” asked Arthur.
“Costume play,” explained Lewis. “People dress up like characters from anime or videogames that they love. Some of the outfits are really complicated or accurate.”
“We usually do a theme for Halloween,” continued Sydney.
“We did Sailor Moon for a couple of years,” said Lewis.
“Another time we were Ed and Al Elric,” said Sydney. “I’m not sure what we could do with four people.”
“Power Rangers?” suggested Vivi.
“There’s usually five of ‘em though,” said Sydney.
“Is that a big deal?” asked Arthur.
“Not really,” said Lewis. “It would just seem a little weird to be short a ranger.”
“So, we need a group of four people,” muttered Sydney. “All I can think of are Transformers, but that might be too complicated.”
“All I can think of is the Scooby Doo gang,” said Vivi.
Silence. The kids turned to stare at Ben. “Would Ben let us dye his fur?” asked Lewis.
“I have no idea,” admitted Vivi. “Would the dye be safe?”
“I have no idea,” repeated Sydney. “Dad knows a bit about hair dye…”
“I think you could get away with leaving him white and black,” said Arthur.
“So, who would be who?” asked Lewis.
Vivi and Sydney promptly pointed at Lewis. “Fred.” Then they pointed towards Arthur. “Shaggy.”
“You do have the muscle tone going on,” agreed Arthur.
And Lewis blushed because he was somehow the biggest one there despite (probably) being the youngest. “W-well, who’s gonna be Velma and Daphne?”
Sydney and Vivi exchanged looks. That was…less obvious. Both wore glasses, had relatively short statures, and were fairly tomboyish.
“You’re shorter,” said Vivi.
Sydney pouted. “Yeah, I am. Guess that makes me Velma…What kind of name is Velma?”
“I dunno.”
“Will we need a van?”
“None of us can drive,” pointed out Arthur.
“Maybe a toy or something,” suggested Lewis.
“Oh, yeah, that makes more sense,” admitted Arthur.
The four kids (and dog and hamster) just lay there for several minutes. It hadn’t been a particularly odd conversation, but something in the air seemed heavy, as if something life changing had just happened.
Then Ben started licking Arthur’s face, ending the moment. Arthur let out a laugh. “H-hey! Stop! Stop!”
Vivi grinned. “You’re saying ‘stop’, but you’re laughing.” Ben decided to switch targets and started licking Vivi instead. She giggled. “Ben!”
“We should teach him how to talk!” Ben turned his attention to Sydney. “Hey! Ew! Your breath smells like fish! Why does it smell like fish? You’re not a cat!”
“Ben’ll eat anything if you give him the chance,” said Vivi.
Lewis pulled a bag of chips out from somewhere and grinned. “Like this?” He popped the bag open. He was immediately tackled by the dog. “Ack!” Ben quickly stuck his head in the bag and quickly snapped up the contents before transferring his ministrations to Lewis. “Oh yuck! Your breath really does smell like fish!”
“Hold him for me,” said Vivi. “I’ll brush his teeth!”
The whole thing devolved into a wrestling match. No teeth were cleaned. Everyone needed a bath afterwards.
Sydney had been right about the Scooby Doo costumes being fairly simple to make. She hadn’t stopped to think about make-up and hairstyling though.
“Are you almost done?” asked Sydney Jr.
“Almost…Just one more pin…and done!” Sydney Sr stepped back to admire how Sydney looked with the brown bob wig in addition to the rest of her costume. “The shape of the glasses aren’t the same, but I don’t think anyone will care.”
Sydney Jr. twirled and did a hop-skip over to Vivi, who was messing with her noticeably longer orange wig. “How ‘bout you?”
“I prefer shorter hair. Hair this long just…gets in the way,” said Vivi as she glared distastefully at a lock of orange hair.
Sydney nodded. “I hear ya. I just want it long enough to ponytail it.” She glanced at the boys. “How ‘bout you two?”
Unlike the girls, the boys weren’t wearing wigs. They’d just had their hair styled into a close approximation of their chosen characters. Sydney Sr claimed this was because the wigs would look too bulky unless the boys were willing to shave their hair. They weren’t.
Arthur fingered his hair. “This doesn’t feel too different from usual besides the colors.” He was wearing green and red. He was coming to prefer bright colors like orange and yellow.
Lewis was happily studying his reflection. “I kind of like this hairstyle.” He turned to Sydney Sr. “Will you teach me how to do this?”
Sydney Sr gave him a grin. “Sure! I’ll get you some decent hair mousse. Now, if you’ll excuse me I’m gonna go change into my costume.” On his way out, he ran into Hiro. “So, how’d Ben like the vegetable dye?”
“He tolerated it.” That was a lie. Ben had taken one look at the dye, snorted, and changed his fur color to the proper brown color.
“I’m leaving you alone with Noelle and the kids for a bit. Behave now.” And Sydney Sr hurried down the hallway.
Hiro raised an eyebrow. The Sydneys were pretty darn odd. Still, they got along with the rest of the family and friends, and Hiro did like themin reasonable amounts.
He walked Ben over to the kids, who all started petting him. “Wow, this dye is really realistic,” said Lewis.
Sydney nodded. “My dad knows what he’s doing.”
“How you holding up boy?” asked Vivi. Ben licked her in response. “Good to know.”
“Oh, you kids look so cute like that,” said Noelle. “Let me get my camera!”
Hiro let the kids pose for the camera for several moments before clearing his throat. “Now, I don’t know how much you know about the holiday, but it is easier to come into contact with the supernatural starting tonight and lasting until November 2. It’s most intense on Halloween though. So, Mr. Scoville and I will be escorting you tonight. I have tools prepared to chase off anything that may take an untoward interest in your group, and you will all be spending the night here. Mr. Scoville also has some sort of repelling ability, so I’d imagine this is one of the safest places in the county.”
Arthur let out a sigh of relief. “That’s a relief.”
“Had some bad experiences?” asked Vivi.
Arthur nodded. “I just knew they were at the end of October. I didn’t know about the Halloween thing. Why does it get so much worse anyway?”
“That’s not something with a simple answer,” said Hiro. “Something makes…magic for lack of a better word more potent during these days, which makes it easier for people to see ghosts and for ghosts, along with other normally invisible entities, to become visible to people. It’s a good time for them to be heard if there’s something they want to get across to the mundane, living population.” Hiro glowered. “Although I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a tradition among the supernatural to have fun and try to scare humans. It’s what people are expecting to happen after all.”
Ben gave a barely noticeable shrug. Hiro wasn’t wrong, but it was more of a ‘teenagers messing around and doing things their parents won’t necessarily approve of’ sort of thing.
Arthur crossed his arms. “Well, I don’t like it, whatever it is…”
Vivi turned to Sydney and Lewis. “Have you guys ever noticed anything weird around this time of year?”
“I haven’t ever noticed anything,” said Sydney. “Lewis says there are ghosts all over the place though.”
Lewis nodded. “Yeah, some are pretty scary. It’s a lot more active in the cemetery and house. Sydney always spends the night since some of them look pretty scary.” Lewis made a face as something suddenly occurred to him. “Uh, this is the first Halloween we haven’t slept over at my house. Do you think Mom and Dad and Belle will be okay?”
“I put some ofudas up at your house that should keep away most dangerous entities,” reassured Hiro. “Honestly, you probably attract half of the activity so just spending time away from them will put a stop to a portion of the paranormal activity.”
“Huh, really? I had no idea,” said Lewis.
“Oh, yes, once ghosts figure out someone can see them word spreads very quickly.”
“Wait. I can’t see ghosts, so why do they keep following me around?” asked Arthur.
Hiro shrugged. “I’m not entirely sure why, but you…leak energy. Being around you is like it being Halloween all the time,” said Hiro. “You also have an aura that the supernatural find pleasing, like how kids will gravitate to a kitchen where cookies have just been cooked.”
“I could go for some cookies,” said Vivi.
“You’re going to be getting plenty of candy tonight,” said Noelle. “You can see about having cookies after you finish off the candy.”
Vivi grinned. “Challenge accepted.”
“No,” said Hiro.
“Aw…but-”
“No, you remember what happened last time,” said Hiro.
“Ooh, what happened last time?” asked Sydney.
“When she was five she ate all of her Halloween candy at once and didn’t sleep for three days,” explained Hiro. “She tried to feed Ben chocolate. Dogs can’t eat chocolate.”
Ben huffed because he could eat chocolate, thank you very much. Stupid need to hold up the illusion all the time. He couldn’t wait until Vivi was mature enough to know what he really was so he could relax at home. Not to mention it would be easier to snatch some of whatever that was Noelle was cooking.
Lewis must have noticed how Ben was staring longingly towards the kitchen because he grabbed a treat out of his pocket. “Would you like a Scooby Snack?”
Eh, it’ll do. Ben snapped it up and gave Lewis a lick of thanks.
“What’s taking your dad so long?” asked Vivi. “He said he was going to be a zombie. It can’t take that long to put on some torn clothing and fake blood.”
Sydney grinned. “Dad put in way more effort than that. There’s latex and make-up and contact lenses…”
“Mr. Scoville’s costumes are really complicated,” agreed Lewis.
Any further conversation was interrupted by a groaning sound. Everyone turned to see…a zombie. It was covered in bite marks, half rotten, had clouded over eyes, and dirty, torn clothing. It was completely unrecognizable as Sydney Sr.
“…Okay, that is a convincing zombie costume,” admitted Vivi.
“Thank you,” said Sydney Sr, briefly breaking character before going back to groaning.
“You look like a dead body!” said Arthur. “Which I guess is the point, but it’s creepy.”
Sydney Scoville groaned again. He sure was taking the zombie thing seriously.
“So…” Sydney Jr held up her treat bag. “Can we go trick-or-treating now?”
“Unnngh!”
“Taking that as a yes!”
Thankfully, the other adults decided to agree with the translation so the kids were able to head out. “There are a lot of costumes,” commented Arthur.
Vivi nodded. “Yep, it’s a popular holiday.”
“What a cute baby!” cooed Lewis at a young couple and their baby, all of them dressed like dinosaurs.
“Thank you!”
“But most of them seem to be younger than us,” continued Arthur.
“That guy’s older than us,” pointing at a guy dressed like a robot.
“People just prefer to go to parties once they get older. I don’t know why. They’re sooo boring,” complained Vivi. “Where’s the darkness? Where’s the creepy shadows? Where’s the questioning of if there’s a ghost around the corner or if that’s a really good werewolf costume or some werewolf decided to go to the store to pick up milk?”
“There are some ghosts following us,” commented Lewis.
Arthur tensed up. “Why?”
Lewis glanced towards the ghosts. “Are you sure he’s not a zombie? He looks pretty dead.”
“It’s Halloween. It’s obviously a very good costume.”
“He smells like a zombie though.”
“We’re ghosts! We can’t smell!”
“Oh yeah.”
“Besides, wasn’t there a Scooby-Doo movie with zombies?”
“Since when are there Scooby-Doo movies?”
“Mr. Scoville’s costume is really convincing,” said Lewis.
“Unngh!”
“Are zombies real?” asked Sydney.
“Yes,” said Hiro. “Under very specific circumstances. It takes one of a few specific rituals. It’s very dangerous and is not something that should ever be done unless you have prior permission from the subject of interest. Even then, it’s not recommended because of the possible side effects.” He paused. “Actually, this is a very complicated subject. Let’s talk about it when we have more time.”
“I don’t wanna talk about it at all,” muttered Arthur as they walked up to a house.
They took a moment to ring the doorbell, ask for treats, and thank the woman handing out the treats. Ben tried to beg for treats. This wasn’t allowed, and the group went on their way.
“Do ghost hunters have a lot of work on Halloween?” asked Sydney.
“Paranormal investigators,” corrected Hiro. “While we do look for ghosts, calling us ‘hunters’ suggests we intend to hurt ghosts in some way. That’s a last resort in cases where the ghosts in question seek to harm the living and cannot be convinced otherwise. And whether an investigator works on Halloween or not varies. Most will take the time off because they might get false positives. Some like working on Halloween though since they might get results they wouldn’t usually come by.”
“That doesn’t sound very professional,” muttered Arthur.
“I agree,” said Hiro. “Personally, I feel that circumstances that modify magical strengths can be dangerous, even if it’s something to your advantage.”
“Wouldn’t that make things easier?” asked Sydney.
“Yes, which might be good in an emergency, but it can make you under or overestimate a situation.”
“How is overestimating bad?” questioned Arthur.
Hiro took a minute to think about how to describe what he was thinking. “It’s like using a hand grenade to make a hole when a drill will suffice.”
Vivi, Lewis, both Sydneys, and even Arthur laughed. Hiro had to admit it wasn’t the best analogy, but it’s what he came up with on short notice.
“It’s like you thought the corn was sweet so you put in the wrong amount of salt,” said Lewis.
“That’s a better analogy,” admitted Hiro. “Anyway, once you outgrow trick-or-treating, you should find some way to spend Halloween that doesn’t involve the supernatural. Maybe go to a party or stay home and watch movies.”
“Watching movies would be nice,” said Arthur.
“Ooh! We could watch the Nightmare Before Christmas again!” said Vivi.
“You will not. It’s a school night,” said Hiro. “As it is the only reason you’re spending the night together is for safety’s sake.” He looked to Sydney Sr. “I’m trusting you and Mrs. Scoville to get the children to sleep and awake on time.”
“Nggggh!”
“That means yes,” said Sydney Jr.
“I still wish we could spend the night at Lewis’ house,” said Vivi. “There’s a lot more space, and it seems more fitting to spend Halloween in a haunted house.”
“Belle sometimes cries at night. She might wake you up,” said Lewis.
“Or we might wake her up,” countered Arthur.
“I don’t wanna wake Baby Belle up!” agreed Sydney Jr. “She’s cute when she’s sleeping.”
The subject of conversation rapidly changed to siblings and sleepovers. Hiro watched them absentmindedly before feeling something brush against his side.
It was just Ben, who gave him a smile unseen by anyone else. Hiro found himself smiling back. It was nice…seeing the children all so happy like this.
It would be nice if it would last forever.

Birdy’s OC: Fae
I’m writing down everything about the OCs that I have, and I’m going to compile them on my blog. I can’t draw, so I’ll be including picrews that I have made over the last year or so. Unfortunately, I didn’t save what picrews I used, but they serve to give a good visual of my girls.
I’m also putting most of this under a read more to not clog up everyone’s feed.
--
Fae is the first OC I made and the first I wrote about! She’s also the only one I’ve written smut about oops. Her published stories aren’t my favorite because they’re my first shots at fanfiction ever, so I feel they’re a little clunky. But you can read them if you want?
No One Else:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/17963174/chapters/42426353
How Can You Feel Unlovable? (18+):
https://archiveofourown.org/works/18047837
She’s grown a lot since I last wrote about her in April 2019 (oh my god) so it’s time to talk about the actual fairy princess.
Name: Fae Willows
Race: Half Fairy (unbeknownst to her)
Age: 26
Birthday: June 24th (Midsummer)
Height: 5’5”
Hair color: Red
Eye color: Grey
Character color: Green
Other appearance related things: Fae always wears chokers. She feels like she doesn’t have a defined chin so she needs to wear a necklace otherwise she feels like her chin just melts into her neck and looks gross.
Fae’s mother Lorelai is very important to Fae’s story. If you don’t know who that is, her profile is here:
https://just-here-for-copia.tumblr.com/post/190669667276/birdys-oc-lorelai
Backstory:
One of the many children of Lorelai, Fae was the smallest out of all of them. Weak and feeble. Lorelai also said she was probably the ugliest. Not good enough to be her future body. So she was abandoned on the steps of her father’s house when she was only a few months old.
Her father, Robert (Bobby) Willows, was only 20 at the time, but he took in his daughter and tried to raise her the best he could. With no wife, he moved into his mother Margaret’s home. Margaret had been a widow for five years, and Bobby was her only son, so she was happy to have the company.
Fae’s father died in a car accident when she was 2 years old. She doesn’t remember him at all, but her grandmother kept pictures all over the house. He was a painter, and Margaret kept his room exactly how it was on the day he died, so Fae came to know him through his art. Her grandmother tried to keep her from pursuing art to keep her from being the starving artist that her father was, but a kind teacher gave Fae art supplies and then there was no stopping her.
Margaret was a very devout Satanist. Fae was a casual believer, but she still followed along to services. Papa Nihil and Sister Imperator helped Margaret a lot when her son died, so they had a friendly relationship. They got even closer when Margaret, determined to find the woman who abandoned her grandchild and broke her son’s heart, discovered Fae’s mother was Lorelai.
The three of them came into an agreement to keep Fae under the protection of the church as much as possible. Lorelai wouldn’t dare set foot onto any Emeritus grounds because she would be detected immediately. Which is how Fae ended up with her job.
Nihil approached Fae, saying he had seen one of her paintings, and wondered if she would be so kind as to touch up a few older pieces around the church? This slowly grew from fixing paint chips to full on art restoration. Fae found a passion for preserving works that would otherwise be lost. Satanic art hasn’t been well received in any time period, so some things have been badly damaged. Fae studied every technique on art preservation that she could find and was surprised that she had a natural talent for it. She was patient and had a strong eye for detail.
A few years into her working with the church, Fae stepped down from the job when her grandmother got very sick. She was old, fragile, and Fae didn’t know how to take care of her. She listened to doctors and did the best she could, but it wasn’t enough. After four years of trying to keep her alive, Margaret passed in her sleep. Watching the only family she had slowly dieabsolutely destroyed her. She felt a kind of loneliness that hurt her down to her bones.
Before Margaret died, she had made arrangements for Nihil and Imperator to take Fae in as a Sister once she passed. It was her last request of Fae, and it was probably the best thing for her. She had spent so long caring for someone else that she didn’t know how to care for herself. Nihil gave her back her old job, complete with a workshop of restoration tools the church had purchased over the years Fae was gone. She was very grateful for the distraction.
But, as the weeks turned into months, she found that four years doing nothing but taking care of a sick old woman had stunted her ability to socialize.Sisters usually joined the church in groups at designated times of the year, but Fae was pulled in right when her grandmother passed, so she had none of the bonding moments Sisters usually had when they were first entering their servitude to the church. Everything on top of that her agonizing heartache at losing her grandmother made Fae anti-social and awkward. It was hard to speak to anyone. She currently passes her days by going to classes, working in her shop, and going to sleep. Rinse and repeat. She may have gone days without saying a single word and didn’t notice. But she’s trying when she can.
She had a good conversation with the Cardinal when she went to ask him for a book. He seemed nice. She felt a little better after that.
Fun facts about Fae:
She is a natural blonde. Like, platinum blonde. She cuts it all off and dyes it red because apparently the only thing her father ever said about her mother was how long and beautiful her hair was. Fae doesn’t like to be reminded of her.
She also shaved down her eyebrows and got multiple ear piercings after her grandma passed away. She doesn’t really know why. Some weird act of rebellion she never did when she was younger, probably.
She can keep any plant alive. Her room in the abbey doesn’t have windows, but she has half a dozen plants that are thriving even without sunlight. When asked how she does it, Fae shrugs and says she doesn’t do anything out of the ordinary.
Animals love her. They tend to gravitate towards her and it makes her really happy. She loves making animal friends.
She’s noticed her eyes seem to be changing? They have always been light grey, looking almost devoid of color. She might be seeing things wrong, but she’s seeing more color there. More of a faint brown? Weird.
What percentage of me is in Fae?: Fae is pretty much my self insert? She’s gotten farther and farther away from that with time. She’s like 85% me at this point.
I also like to play around with scenarios where Fae grew up with Lorelai, so here’s a natural haired Fae!

I would like you all to come out walking with me wearing costumes I picked for you, and then enjoying a little after party at Mom's place!"
"Don't you have other urchins around your age to do this with?" Lucifer says.
"If you have questions or comments you have to raise your hand!" Trixie says with hands on hips and a raised chin.
Besides," Trxie looks back around the room and holds her arms out wide, "I'd much rather do this with you guys!
"Amy, Linda, and little Charlie, here's your costumes!" Trixie walks over to the family and hands them their papers.
Maze comes back into the bathroom clad in her old light leather armor.

Gillian Anderson is hard to pin down. Is she American or English? (Her accent slips between the two, depending on who she is talking to.) Guarded or warm? (She can be either, based on her mood.) Tough or vulnerable? (Or both?)
'‘Because my parents were American and we lived here in the UK, there was always a sense of not quite fitting in. Because of that I’ve always felt a bit of an outsider. I have perpetuated that because that is what feels familiar to me, it is what feels comfortable,’ she explains. When we meet Anderson is English and warm, talking about the birthday parties she has to organise (she has three children, Piper, 24, Oscar, 12, and Felix, 10); and although she is very petite, wearing white patent stiletto boots and slender black trousers, she exudes the commanding charisma that makes her perfect for her imminent roles. Rumour has it that she will be playing Margaret Thatcher in an upcoming series of The Crown, the Netflix series created and co-written by her partner, Peter Morgan. No one is confirming this, but no one is denying it either. Meanwhile, this month she stars in a new Netflix series, Sex Education, in which she plays a sex therapist who lives with her teenage son (Asa Butterfield). And in February Anderson has another plum role: Margo Channing in Belgian theatre director Ivo van Hove’s much-anticipated adaptation of All About Eve, also starring Lily James as Eve, with music by PJ Harvey. The play – a modern reinterpretation of the 1950 film, which starred Bette Davis as Channing, a blazing Broadway star who is gradually supplanted by a younger rival – is about ambition and betrayal, femininity and anger, stardom and personal sacrifice. Anderson’s is a bravura role, one that requires not just the cool intensity that we have come to expect from her, but also humour. Channing is deliciously droll, delivering endlessly quotable lines with comic precision (‘I’ll admit I may have seen better days, but I’m still not to be had for the price of a cocktail, like a salted peanut’). ‘A couple of years ago my boyfriend Pete said to me, “You know what would be a great role for you? Margo Channing,”’ Anderson says. ‘So I rewatched the film and I thought, “Oh my God, how much fun would that be!”’ Anderson, not one to wait for opportunity, discovered that theatre producer Sonia Friedman had the rights to the script and was working on it with van Hove – Cate Blanchett was set to be Channing. ‘So I thought, “Ah OK, I’ll just slink into the background.” Then my agents got a call to say that she [Blanchett] had backed out due to scheduling conflicts, and there was interest, and was I interested? So I was like, “Yes! When’s the meeting? Now?”’ Van Hove, on the phone from New York, is equally excited to be working with Anderson. ‘Margo needs someone who understands what the theatre is all about, someone who can carry a play, who can occupy the whole stage, and Gillian can do that; she is a fabulous theatre actress. Although, of course, she became iconic for me in the 1990s when she was in The X-Files.’ There is something a little surprising about Ivo van Hove, an avant-garde director celebrated for his reinterpretations of plays and operas such as Hedda Gabler, Antigone and Lulu, professing fandom for a mid-’90s sci-fi series; but that is to forget the huge cultural impact of The X-Files, its quality and its ingenuity. The series was about two FBI agents, played by Anderson and David Duchovny, who attempt to unravel various natural and supernatural mysteries. No one expected it to become such a success, least of all Anderson, who was 24 when she was cast in the show. It was her first major role and it made her a star. She won multiple awards for her portrayal of the sceptical Dr Dana Scully, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe. But such stardom often involves sacrifice and Anderson was suffering. The production schedule for The X-Files was brutal, involving 16-hour days for nine months of the year. Furthermore, in 1994, aged 25, Anderson married Clyde Klotz, assistant art director on the series, and nine months later she gave birth to their daughter, Piper. After three years she and Klotz divorced. It was while she was pregnant that Anderson started having severe panic attacks. ‘I was having them daily,’ she explains, experiencing palpitations, numbness, ‘hallucinations, all of it’. Things didn’t get better once Piper was born. ‘I was a young mother, and shortly after that we were separating, and I was working these crazy hours. I remember periods of time when I was just crying, my make-up was being done over and over again and I was not able to stop crying.’ Anderson sought solace in meditation. ‘I went to somebody and there was a meditation we did together. We went to some quite dark places and I got to see that I could still survive those dark places, I was stronger than they were, and after that the panic attacks stopped.’ Anderson had been having panic attacks, on and off, ‘since high school’. As a teenager she was a daydreamer and a troublemaker who felt different from her peers in Michigan because of her childhood in Harringay, having left the ‘incy-bincy flat with a bathroom outside’ that she and her parents lived in when she was 11 years old, when her family moved back to the US. ‘I started falling in with groups and trying to fit in, until it got to the point when it was like, “I don’t f—ing want to fit in. I want to look completely different to all of you, and stop staring at me because I have a mohawk.” I’d shave the sides of my head with a razor blade and dye my hair different colours.’ Anderson’s parents, Rosemary and Ed, were living in Chicago and were both just 26 when she was born. Soon afterwards the family moved to London so Ed could attend film school, while Rosemary worked as a computer programmer. ‘My parents were working very hard and would often work late. I have lots of memories of playing by myself in the back garden and searching for friends in the neighbourhood because I didn’t have siblings.’ After moving back to America, Rosemary and Ed had two more children, a son and a daughter. Anderson admits that her adolescent waywardness might have been related to the arrival of two new babies in the house. ‘I made trouble and I got attention that way.’ Acting is another way to get attention, something Anderson learnt early on. ‘I remember being in a play when I was in primary school. I was meant to be a Chelsea fan. I started chewing gum on stage and blowing bubbles and got all the attention. I thought, “This is all right, everybody is watching me!”’ But when she reached 16 and started doing more professional productions in America, performing became fundamentally important to her. ‘I enjoyed the connection between performer and audience, the control. And I remember thinking, “I can do this. They are showing me I can do this.” 'It changed everything in my life, knowing I could do something. Prior to that there hadn’t been that moment yet when I found purpose and direction.’ Anderson decided that she wanted to pursue acting as a career and was accepted at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago. ‘From the very start of school I didn’t go into the dorms, instead I found an apartment with a roommate in a funky neighbourhood. I was the only one who was living out of school. That is my pattern, carving my own thing. 'All through [theatre] school I dressed like I was a member of The Cure. That was how I was in the world, grungy, not considered, not mature. I was forthright and gutsy – I drove myself to Chicago in my dad’s VW van – but slightly falling apart.’ She always knew she would return to England. ‘My childhood here, the smell of north London, it has such a massive tug on me. I really felt, when we moved to the States, that I would eventually have a life back here.’ She and Piper moved to the city after The X-Files ended its original run, and she went on to have two more children, Oscar and Felix, with her now ex-boyfriend, businessman Mark Griffiths (there was also a marriage to British documentary maker Julian Ozanne, which lasted for two years, with the couple separating in 2006).
In the UK Anderson’s career developed in a way that might not have been expected for the golden girl of ’90s sci-fi. She took juicy roles in big-budget period dramas – Lady Dedlock in Bleak House, Miss Havisham in Great Expectations – and appeared on stage, at the Royal Court and the Donmar Warehouse. But it was her performance in the BBC detective drama The Fall, starting in 2013, that solidified her reputation as the go-to actor for female characters who are charismatic and powerful. Anderson, as DSI Stella Gibson, was imperious in her white silk shirts and high heels, unwavering in her pursuit of the serial killer played by Jamie Dornan. The screenwriter Allan Cubitt created the role of Gibson with Anderson in mind. ‘I wanted Gibson to be an enigmatic figure. Gillian is a riveting actress, but there is an aloofness to her as well. Also I was attempting to reclaim the idea of the powerful femme fatale, without the fatale; someone who is aware that her beauty can be used to help her ends. That she is unafraid of that was radical.’ Anderson was deeply involved in the creation of Gibson’s look, altering the way she thought about herself in the process. ‘What fascinated me about her, and I feel that we were able to find that in the costume design, was that the way she dressed never felt like it was for anyone else but her. I don’t think I have necessarily changed the way I dress since her, but I feel like I am certainly more conscious of what I wear and what it says.’ As a younger woman her style was ‘messy, like a discarded urchin’. She would wear oversized suits and ‘floppy dresses that I had probably stolen from the thrift store’. Whereas now her look is sleek, and she favours brands like Jil Sander, Prada and Dries Van Noten. The Fall was about gender, power and desire; and it was while filming it in Belfast that Anderson began thinking more about the struggles that women face in the 21st century. ‘I was reading all these statistics about young girls being suicidal and having such low self-esteem and I thought, “Surely, given everything that we know, and the fact we are all having these feelings, can we not start a conversation about whether we want this and how to deal with it?”’ This morphed into her writing a book, We: A Manifesto for Women Everywhere, with her friend, the writer and activist Jennifer Nadel, in 2017. Alternating between pieces by Anderson and Nadel, it details their own personal struggles, and includes practical sections on how to deal with issues such as anxiety and low self-esteem using practices such as meditation, affirmations and gratitude lists. ‘We both know how it feels to be in emotional pain,’ says Nadel. ‘Both of us have felt lost, and found a spiritual way out. Both of us have experienced radical transformation as a result of the things that we wrote about in that book.’ Cubitt and Nadel each say that among the most impressive things about Anderson, as a collaborator, are her focus and drive. ‘I have never met anyone with Gillian’s ability to focus. And she has a certainty about things, she is not mired in indecision,’ says Nadel. What this means is not just an incredibly long CV, but numerous satellite projects. Anderson has a line of smart, grown-up clothes that she has developed with the brand Winser London (‘I didn’t realise I was so opinionated about buttons!’). She also works for numerous charities, focusing especially on women’s rights and environmental issues. ‘Because of my work ethic and also having had such high expectations, both of myself and other people’s of me, at such a young age, I think it became near to impossible for me to relax at all, to do anything that wasn’t work-related, so a lot of my later adult life has been trying to force myself to do that, and I struggle so hard, and sometimes I lose sight of it. So there is a part of me that wonders if I am slightly addicted [to work], I learnt it so young.’ The scant spare time that Anderson allows herself is spent ‘going to the cinema, to the theatre, watching documentaries’. Piper, who has just completed a degree in production and costume design, is now living in her mother’s basement, and the two of them recently went on a trip to Amsterdam to see van Hove’s four-hour stage adaptation of the Hanya Yanagihara novel A Little Life. That might not sound like everyone’s cup of tea, but Anderson loved it. And despite all the seriousness and the self-examination (or perhaps because of it), she is good company, thoughtful and witty. She has, she says, got happier as she has got older, less self-critical, more self-accepting. ‘I am constantly reminded of the fact that I am not normal. But fortunately I have enough abnormal people around me to help me feel that it is actually OK.’

Full transcript of Gillian’s Telegraph interview
‘So I rewatched the film and I thought, “Oh my God, how much fun would that be!”’
Anderson, not one to wait for opportunity, discovered that theatre producer Sonia Friedman had the rights to the script and was working on it with van Hove – Cate Blanchett was set to be Channing. ‘So I thought, “Ah OK, I’ll just slink into the background.” Then my agents got a call to say that she [Blanchett] had backed out due to scheduling conflicts, and there was interest, and was I interested? So I was like, “Yes! When’s the meeting? Now?”’
Van Hove, on the phone from New York, is equally excited to be working with Anderson. ‘Margo needs someone who understands what the theatre is all about, someone who can carry a play, who can occupy the whole stage, and Gillian can do that; she is a fabulous theatre actress. Although, of course, she became iconic for me in the 1990s when she was in The X-Files.’
There is something a little surprising about Ivo van Hove, an avant-garde director celebrated for his reinterpretations of plays and operas such as Hedda Gabler, Antigone and Lulu, professing fandom for a mid-’90s sci-fi series; but that is to forget the huge cultural impact of The X-Files, its quality and its ingenuity.
I remember periods of time when I was just crying, my make-up was being done over and over again and I was not able to stop crying.’
Anderson sought solace in meditation. ‘I went to somebody and there was a meditation we did together. We went to some quite dark places and I got to see that I could still survive those dark places, I was stronger than they were, and after that the panic attacks stopped.’
Anderson had been having panic attacks, on and off, ‘since high school’.
I want to look completely different to all of you, and stop staring at me because I have a mohawk.” I’d shave the sides of my head with a razor blade and dye my hair different colours.’
Anderson’s parents, Rosemary and Ed, were living in Chicago and were both just 26 when she was born. Soon afterwards the family moved to London so Ed could attend film school, while Rosemary worked as a computer programmer.
‘My parents were working very hard and would often work late. I have lots of memories of playing by myself in the back garden and searching for friends in the neighbourhood because I didn’t have siblings.’
After moving back to America, Rosemary and Ed had two more children, a son and a daughter. Anderson admits that her adolescent waywardness might have been related to the arrival of two new babies in the house. ‘I made trouble and I got attention that way.’
Acting is another way to get attention, something Anderson learnt early on. ‘I remember being in a play when I was in primary school. I was meant to be a Chelsea fan. I started chewing gum on stage and blowing bubbles and got all the attention. I thought, “This is all right, everybody is watching me!”’
But when she reached 16 and started doing more professional productions in America, performing became fundamentally important to her. ‘I enjoyed the connection between performer and audience, the control. And I remember thinking, “I can do this. They are showing me I can do this.”
'It changed everything in my life, knowing I could do something. Prior to that there hadn’t been that moment yet when I found purpose and direction.’
Anderson decided that she wanted to pursue acting as a career and was accepted at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago.
I was forthright and gutsy – I drove myself to Chicago in my dad’s VW van – but slightly falling apart.’
She always knew she would return to England. ‘My childhood here, the smell of north London, it has such a massive tug on me. I really felt, when we moved to the States, that I would eventually have a life back here.’

When I was in grade 6, my cousin had started growing out his hair, to donate it to the folks who make wigs for cancer patients, I thought that seemed like a cool idea, so I decided to do the same.
It took a super long time to grow out what was essentially a buzz cut (I got my hair cut in the summer of 2007 before I went to a week long camp, so I waited a year to start too), so it wasn’t until the end of grade 9 when I finally had 12′’ of hair to cut off and donate (the minimum number for them to be able to make a wig with the strands).
While I had that long hair, there was a super long while when I looked like a chubby, shaggy haired boy (not that those are bad, just not what I ever wanted to look like), but when my hair started to be long enough to put it into a ponytail, oh wow was that exciting in a way I did not understand at the time. A lot of adults addressed me with feminine pronouns (both those who didn’t know my name, and those who just saw me as part of a group of girls walking in the halls at school). Being read as female didn’t bother me at the time, but I didn’t really understand that, I couldn’t stop marveling/fixating on it though. I remember telling everyone I knew about every single time I was read as female by an adult, and never once thinking that it could mean anything deeper than the long hair on my head.
Around the start of grade 9, I hadn’t really figured out that you could move your ponytail higher, and so I always had a low ponytail, which left a lot of hair around my face not at all contained. This was also when everyone was talking about Juno, and I remember realising at some point that I kind of looked like Ellen Page did in the movie, and again, I enjoyed that, but didn’t really explore why that might be any more than just noticing it.
I remember my best friend from high school wanting/offering to straighten my hair, and (possibly??) suggesting makeup, which I tuned down because I already dealt with enough bullying from boys at school that made me fear being seen as too feminine, but to be honest, I’m pretty sure I secretly hoped that she would bring it up again, but I guess my stated reason was enough of a deterrent (I said I didn’t want to damage my hair with a straightener, since I was planning on giving it away).
A few days after grade 10 was over, I got my hair cut (First Choice Haircutters quickly became my last choice when they wasted a lot of hair), and my dad shaved my head for me from the super short buzz to actual bald.
I spent the rest of highschool, and the first 3 years of university with hair only slightly longer than a buzz cut.
I don’t think I really had many more thoughts about my gender until after I started to dye my hair and I was living downtown and approaching the end of my university time.

everything has changed part 2
Summary: (Y/N) working on a mission with Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and Natasha Romanoff.
Warnings: There is a bit of French used in this, but I translated it for you.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Word count: 2,215
A/N: Sorry if this one is shit, my mind was kind of all over the place writing this one, but I hope that it is good to you guys. Let me know what you think. Also, this is the last part of this, so what happens next will be left up to your imagination 😉
Part 1
The next morning you woke up, feeling a little off. You weren’t sure where the strange feeling was coming from, but something deep down inside of you felt weird. You were sitting on your bed, staring off in thought, trying to figure out what it was that made you feel weird. It wasn’t until there was a loud knock on your door that you tried to shake the feeling away. “Come in.” You offer. “Hey, can we go over the mission really quick? I’m not going to make it to the briefing meeting, something came up.” Nat said walking in. “Yeah, of course.” You nod your head. You trusted that Nat would be back and ready, in her disguise, by 6. You gave her the run-down of the mission, making sure she knew that she needed to be in disguise and that she had to match Bucky, as he was her date. She nodded when you finished, understanding everything, having done missions similar to this many times before. “You okay?” Nat asked when you finished, “You seem off.” “Honestly, I don’t know, I feel really weird right now,” you admitted. “Like how?” Nat asked, putting a hand to your forehead to make sure you weren’t catching something. “Not physically, I just have this odd feeling, like I forgot something or something tonight is going to go wrong. Maybe I should cancel the mission and we should go after this guy another day.” you shrug. “No, don’t doubt yourself. You’ve been working on this mission for months, no one knows it better than you. It’s not that… are you sure you’re not nervous about being Steve’s date? Even if it is fake?” Nat was always in on trying to set you two up with Bucky, but she was never as forward as Bucky was about it. “Well, last night something weird did happen. When I was at the gym, he came up to talk to me and I mentioned that Bucky wanted me to go out with a friend of his. I, of course, didn’t mention a name. But instead of really saying anything he just went back to the punching bag, then not even 10 minutes later he punched it clean off. Maybe I’m worried that Steve is in the wrong mindset right now and that he’ll blow our cover?” Nat shook her head, “It’s obvious that he was jealous. You didn’t say who, he probably didn’t think it was him, and he got jealous. He’ll probably be fine today.” “Jealous? I doubt it, Nat. Anyway, hopefully, this feeling goes away.” You shake your body like you had chills, trying to get the feeling out of your body.
After the briefing meeting, all of you went into a different conference room where the stylist had set up. “(Y/N), sweetie! It’s so good to see you! Tony didn’t tell me you’d be one of my clients today.” She came over to hug you. “Hey Angelica, I didn’t realize you’d be helping us today!” You smile at her as you pull away from her. “What can I do for you guys today?” She asks, looking over what she has to work with. “This is Bucky,” You motion to him, “We need a haircut, like this…” You pull up a picture on your phone. “And a clean shave, that should make him almost unrecognizable.” You smirk. “As for Steve here… do you have any like 24-hour hair dye, we could dye it a darker color like black or brown. Then maybe some hair gel and fake glasses.” You shrug, not really sure what to do to make Captain America less recognizable. “Then me, I trust you to work your magic.” You wink. “I have just the thing for you, sweetie,” Angelica said to you.
It was about 5 o’clock when all three of you got done with your complete makeovers. Bucky now had hair like he did back in the ’40s, had a clean shave and was in a sleek black tux. Steve had a brown temporary dye in his hair, it was styled similar to Bucky’s with some gel, with a pair of thick-rimmed black glasses and a sleek black tux. As for you, you had gone from having (your hair length) (your hair color) to having hair down to your butt with bleach blonde and caramel highlights throughout it. She had put loads of hair extensions in your hair with the different streaks of color in it. She did a light face of makeup, making it complement your features nicely. You were in a beautiful floor length blue, sparkly gown. She had given you a dress with a slit in the leg, knowing you’d want to have a gun strapped to your leg. It was a perfect disguise. All of them were perfect, you barely recognized the lot of you. “Wow, you look… amazing” Steve says to you when Angelica finished up with you. You blush, feeling it quickly spread from your cheeks to your ears and neck. “Thanks, you do too. Barely recognize you.” You say. He really did look amazing. The dark hair contrasted his baby blues beautifully. Looking at him alone made butterflies burst in your stomach, but him telling you that, made everything in you feel like it was on fire. Bucky cleared his throat, bringing your attention to him. “Oh. my. gosh. Bucky! You look amazing!” You say running over to him and lightly touching his hair, as to not mess it up. “Thanks (Y/N)” He blushed a little. “Wow, look at us.” You say looking around at the three of you, “We all look so different. You did amazing Angelica, I expected nothing less. Thank you.” You give her a quick hug goodbye and you all head to the weapons room to load up on items that you could easily conceal in your not exactly mission friendly outfits.
There was something off with Steve, and you hadn’t failed to notice. He became very quiet after you guys left the conference room where Angelica had set up. “Hey (Y/N), can I talk to you for a second?” Bucky said, pulling you to the side. “What’s up?” you asked, working on putting your gun holster on your leg. “Steve’s jealous,” Bucky said without a hint of doubt in the statement. “What do you mean he’s jealous? Jealous over what?” You asked confused. “The way you reacted to my disguise compared to his.” Bucky shrugged. You scoffed at the idea, “You know this is the second time someone has told me today that he is jealous. Why would he be jealous?” “Because he likes you! You’re way too blind to see it apparently, but it’s there. It’s also really obvious that you like him too, so just do something about it already.” “I do not!” your voice rises an octave when you try to defend yourself. “Nat told me that you felt weird this morning, you were clearly nervous because you have to act like you’re dating Steve tonight. You like him. Someone who didn’t have a crush on him wouldn’t care.” Bucky shrugged, saying it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. However, you stayed strong to your word. “I do not like him as any more than a friend, end. of. discussion. Barnes.” you stomp off to finish putting your weapons on.
Nat had arrived right before you guys had gotten on the plane, ready to go with weapons and disguise. You all went through the fight with little conversation other than talking about the mission that Nat just got back from. When you arrived, you landed the plane at a track a good distance away and drove the rest. You went in two separate cars, goings strictly as couples, not as a group. Steve and you didn’t talk at first in the car, sitting in a sort of awkward silence. “Hey, Steve… If something happens tonight, I just wanted to let you know that…” You were trying to find the words to tell him. While you didn’t want to admit it to Bucky or Nat because you couldn’t stand to see the smug looks on their faces as they say I told you so, you owed it to yourself and Steve to admit it to the both of you. “We’re here.” The driver said, cutting off your thought. “Thank you,” Steve nodded, getting out of the car and holding his hand out, to help you out. He then sticks out his elbow to allow you to wrap your arm around his. You gladly do so, it feeling almost natural to be that close. “Bonjour, Monsieur et Madame” (”Hello, sir and madame”) The man standing in the entranceway greets. Steve froze because he didn’t really know French, luckily you knew enough to get you through the night. “Bonjour” (”Hello”) you reply, faking the best French accent you could. “Avez-vous vos invitations?” (”Do you have your invitations?”) He asks. You smile, look over at Steve and whisper, while still smiling at him “Invitations” Steve nodded and smiled to the man, pulling the invitations from his jacket and handing them over. “Je vous remercie” (”Thank you”) The man thanks Steve, looks them over and says “Vous pouvez entrer, profiter de votre nuit M. et Mme Rogers.” (”You can come in, enjoy your night Mr. and Mrs. Rogers”) motioning you in the doorway. Him calling you Mrs. Rogers, bringing a big smile to your face. You liked the sound of that. “Merci, vous aussi” (”Thank you, you too.”) You smile at the man, entering with Steve. “I didn’t know you spoke French.” Steve looked at you, impressed. “I took some in high school and have practiced it here and there. I hopefully know enough to get us through the night without raising suspicion. Another reason why I chose myself and Nat, we both speak a little French.” You smiled. You guys head to the bar to get drinks. “Bonjour, que puis-je avoir pour vous ce soir?” (”Hello, what can I get for you tonight?”) the bartender asks when you guys sit down. “un peu d'eau pour nous deux s'il vous plaît, ce sera tout” (”Some water for both of us please, that will be all”) You say, trying your best to keep up that French accent. “à venir” (”Coming right up”) She says as she pulls out two glasses and pours you guys some water. “vous voilà” (”Here you are”) She says, sliding them over. “Merci beaucoup” (”Thank you, very much.”) you smile and tip her a few euros for her time. “That’s oddly attractive.” Steve sort of blurts out, but immediately looks like he regrets it when he realizes he said it out loud. You laugh a little “Merci beaucoup” (”Thank you, very much”) you say to him as you pat his leg, assuring him that it was okay for him to say.
The night went by pretty quickly and you were easily able to find your guy. At the end of the night, he made his purchase and left the gala. “Steve and I are going to pursue the guy. You guys stay here, but be ready to leave if we need back-up.” You whisper into the little speaker you were wearing. You stand up from your seat and hold out your hand for Steve, who gladly takes it. The two of you walk out of the gala, keeping a good distance from the man who you were now following. You remained holding hands, in case he did happen to turn around, it would just look like a couple on a stroll. Your skin was on fire where it touched his. You hoped that your hands weren’t becoming clammy and grossing Steve out. You hoped that Steve felt just as nervous as you did. When you rounded a corner, the man was gone. “Where’d he go?” You whispered to Steve, but he had just as good of a guess as you. Not even a minute later he walked out of the shop that you guys were standing next to. You panicked, only thinking about the fact that he’ll know you’ve been following him if he sees that you’re stopped. So you quickly throw Steve against the wall and pull his head down to yours and connect your lips. You felt the man look at you, but he quickly looked away once he saw the PDA, letting go of any suspicion he might have had. You continued to kiss Steve until the man was a couple feet away. When you pulled away, both of you were out of breath. “So…um… yeah, let’s keep going.” You say, flushed and confused as to why that was the first thought that came to mind. Steve nods and you head on. “That doesn’t count you know,” Steve says quietly. “What do you mean?” You ask, looking at him confused. “That doesn’t count as our first kiss. When we get back, I’m going to take you on a real date. Then, if you’ll let me, I’ll kiss you. That will be our first kiss.” Steve smiled at you, blushing like crazy. “J'aimerais beaucoup ça. I’d like that very much.” You say, adding a little wink.

Bastille @ the Wiltern (aka How Dan Smith Kissed Me)
Okay friends, strap in, this is gonna be a ride -- partially because I’s super excited, and partially because this is my ONE CHANCE to get revenge for the millions of SPN Con breakdowns I’ve had to read over the years, lol. ((BUT, because I am a nice nice Stitch, I shall put a read more break and you can scroll to the bottom if all you want to read is the kiss part lol.))
To start off, dis me and mah buddy Mikey ( @gnaist)
We have known each other since fucking JUNIOR HIGH, and (as I told him last night,) there are v v few people I enjoy enough to tolerate them for over twenty years, let alone still actively want to see them. Dis guy? He dat guy. :) And he also puts up with me with minimal complaining.
Mikey and I share a birthday week, and we usually do something together (just us) during September to celebrate. This year, he was sweet enough to agree that our Birthday Shenanigans™ should take place at the ONE gig Bastilles playing in LA -- not because he's a fan, but because I am. #FriendshipGoals
So first, I got all dolled up, with fancy pink and purple hair and Bastille-themed nails:
(That’s 00:15 for their song Quarter Past Midnight, a ∆ , and a letter for each member of the band: Charlie (guitar), Woody (drums), Will (bass), Kyle (keyboards), and Dan (lead singer))
Then, I drove to Mikey’s and gave him his half of our newest tradition: Birthday Socks!! One for me and one for him.
We had dinner at this awesome patisserie close to Mikey’s awesome new place (shoutout to him for Adulting and buying his first condo!) We also got cake because Birthday Shenanigans™.
The food was super tasty, and the cakes were CHOCOLATE AF (don’t talk to me about my allergies, okay? Is mah BIRTHDAY)
We were running late, so we actually ate in the Lyft (the driver was nice enough to let us, and we were careful not to spill.) We got to the Wiltern at 7pm, JUST as they started letting people in.
Once we got in, we got overpriced (but very tasty) drinkies (Birthday Shenanigans™)
And then Mikey informed me that if we were going to a concert, we were getting merch. (Mikey is v v wise and a literal doctor, so I 100% believe anything he tells me.) We got shirts!
He got a cute Quarter Past Midnight shirt (that was also unusually soft and high quality,) and I got the tie-dye one that’s based off Dan Smith’s actual shirt. I’mma cut up the collar like I do with all my shirts because I hate t-shirt collars.
Then we went inside the actual theatre, which is an Art Deco beauty. They’d taken out all the seats, but the orchestra section has many shallow levels/risers, and people could basically choose which section they wanted to stand in. There was a bar INSIDE the theatre. The lighting was too low for good pics, but you can sorta see in this:
The very front pit and center section were filled with people who hadn’t sauntered in four hours late with chocolate mousse cake -- but there was space off to the right where we could stand and only two people were in front of us. YAY!
Then we waited. And waited. AND WAITED LIKE WTF PEOPLE?? I figure the Wiltern wants to give people time to buy drinks and stuff, but two HOURS???
Finally, about 9pm, the support act came on: a female singer named Fletcher? Anyone heard of her? Anyway, she was really good, had a gorgeous voice -- although we couldn’t understand what she was singing, but that was more because of the mic set up.
(Das her. V petite and blonde and has a looooot of songs about breakups, lol.)
Once Fletcher finished her set, there was another break while the road crew set up Bastille’s equipment. It was sort of fun to watch, because they’re all English blokes so they’re chatting away in cute accents while they’re doing the setup.
And then, FINALLY, Bastille came on stage.
And it.
Was.
WORTH IT.
They went hard from the moment they stepped on stage, and kept the energy up the entire time.
I cannot fully express to you how electric they are live -- but let’s just say that all the good pictures are Mikey’s because a) he is the bestest of friends and played cameraman for the evening -- but also b) I was too busy jumping around with Dan to get any actual images of Dan jumping around
He even raced up to the balcony during Flaws, WHILE SINGING and dancing. (I was a bit disappointed he didn’t come by where we were standing, but I was also happy for the balcony peoples because you don’t normally get to interact much in the balcony. Also: ART DECO!!!)
Dan Smith’s voice was PEAK HONEY, and he did all the songs I hoped he would: The Draw, Blame, Quarter Past Midnight...hell, I’ll just show you the set-list, which I got to see after the show:
(The girl holding it was the one who got to keep it -- she was super sweet and a HUGE fan who’d been to tons of concerts but had never gotten a hold of a set-list, so we were all happy she finally got one! :D)
SIDENOTE:
During the show, there was this moment in the song Bad Blood where Dan came over to the side of the stage where we were standing. Now, the camera lens makes it seem like we were farther away than we were, like this:
When in reality we could see more like this:
So the band could see our faces, too. So during Bad Blood, Dan’s singing, and I’m singing along with him (like a goober) and I raised my hand like you do when you’re feeling a song...
and he RAISED HIS HAND BACK AND SANG TO ME!
For like, two seconds, but still. It was a MOMENT.
After that, I was floating on Cloud 9 -- so when the concert ended, I was ready to call it a perfect night. But when we went out (the back exit, as it was closer,) Mikey mentioned that because the line had stretched around the far corner of the Wiltern, we’d never gotten a chance to get a pic of the actual marquis.
So we paused, and I looked back at the theater alley and thought -- huh, I wonder if they might...come out afterwards? Mebbe sign a few things? I has this nice shirt I spent too much money on...mebbe they sign my nice shirt, eh?
So Mikey went to get his pic of the marquis, which came out FABULOUSLY:
And then we settled in to wait at the end of the alley where we thought they might come out. Turns out, we were at the wrong end. So after like, 30 mins of waiting on one end, we (there were like, 20 of us) meandered over to the OTHER end of the alley, where the band’s cars were waiting and the crew was loading out the equipment.
BTW, the Bastille crew? Super sweet, English and American, and those boys fucking HUSTLED. They were rolling 300-400lb equipment into this semi, basically doing the world’s largest game of Tetris, trying to fit everything in. We was all v v impressed.
They also brought us water?? Because we’d been waiting for an hour and a half at this point and they felt bad, like...?? AND THEN, they gave us the balloons from the set!!
And all the fans were really nice, and started taking the bunches of balloons apart so that everyone who wanted a balloon could have one (I got a green one, mah favorite color!)
So we’re waiting. And waiting. And WAITING GODDAMN DON’T THEY HAVE CLOCKS IN ENGLAND??
The crew finishes loading, the semi backs out, still we wait. Their manager finally comes out and says that yes they’re coming out, but probably only going to take a couple of group shots with all of us/not sign anything or chat. Why? Because the boys are exhausted. He tells us they’ve flown from England to Sacramento to Vegas to LA in 3 days and played 4 shows, soo... understandable situation.
EXCEPT for this one fan, who started whining at the manager. “I didn’t wait ALL THIS TIME for some fucking group shot, I want a SELFIE!” “I need Dan to take a pic of me with my SIGN!!” (She kept harping about her sign... is no even a good sign?)
Then, when it looked for a second like maybe the boys weren’t coming out at all, she snaps “You PROMISED they were coming!!” >:( The tone of this person’s voice, man -- you know the one? Like she’s Sharon at the Walmart and they were out of stock of Pantene Pro-V or some shit and they OWED HER some gotdamn PANTENE and where is the manager?? Ugh.
Anywho, the boys come out. (Except Will. He might have already fallen asleep, IDK lol.) But there was a Dan and a Kyle and a Woody, and they all not ONLY took some group shots, but DID give hugs and stuffs.
(Dan giving hugs. Woody, who was totally smiley and friendly and not a miserable git like this pic makes him look...right after this moment he ran over and gave the girl next to me a hug. Kyle was off to my right, giving many hugs and taking many pictures.)
(Dan in a taco hat a fan had given him. Woody heading back after giving many hugs.)
(Dan apologizing profusely because someone gave him a shirt for a present and he hadn’t realized that there was an image of a nekkid lady in the art collage on the front, and we were all ladies and he didn’t want us to feel uncomfortable or think he was a misogynist so he covered it up oh god he’s such a cinnamon roll I cannot!)
And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for: THE KISS.
So, during the interminable waiting, (literally, TWO HOURS PLUS, you guys!) several of us started chatting -- during the chat, it came up that I has made a Bastille art. I showed the ladies this pic:
because we were all talking about Dan shaving his head and I was trying to convince them it was actually kinda hot, lol.
They really liked the art!! :D So much so that they convinced me (after many prods and encouragements) to show the art to Dan. And I was gonna do it, honest! I was super brave and not at all terrified.
But then came the whole they’re too tired thing and I was like, eh, mebbe no?
And THEN, Superbitch Fan was standing right next to me DEMANDING that Dan take a selfie with her and her sign. (Which he did, like a sweetheart.) Then when he went to turn to me, Superbitch decided she didn’t like the first pic, and PUSHED IN FRONT OF ME AND PAST THE SECURITY BARRIER to demand he take another one.
Which he did, like a sweetheart -- but then turned past me, probably so she couldn’t grab him again. So I figured, lost cause, right?
Wrong. As he turned back, I was holding the phone out, but not quite up, kind of undecided -- and it caught his eye.
Daniel Campbell Smith GASPED, CLUTCHED HIS HEART
and said “Wow.” Looked at the pic, then back to me, said, “Did you...”
And I held it up and said “Um, yes, I made you...an art?” (Because you know, what are words and why would I, a writer, know how to use them?)
And he just gaped, like HE had no words -- and then leaned in and KISSED ME ON THE CHEEK.
And not a peck, either?? Like a firm, full on “you are amazing and so is your art thing thank you so much” kiss for several seconds??
AND MIKEY GOT THE PIC!
TL;DR:
It may be blurry, but there it is! Immortalized for all time, the moment Daniel Cinnamon Roll Smith liked my artwork SO MUCH he had to kiss me to say thank you.
And then, dear friends, I died.
I have, in fact, been writing this diary from my condo on the edge of the Lake of Fire in Hades. Because I’m dead.
BEST. NIGHT. EVER!!**
((Bonus: Mikey is now a Bastille fan! He really liked the concert, and is going to make his own playlist based on the concert’s set list. I’m so freaking happy we got to share that!! :DDDD))
((Super-bonus: Look in the right-hand corner of the kiss pic. See that woman looking like she’s having her night ruined? THAT was Superbitch. HA!))
**All credit to @gnaist for taking pictures of the entire night, even when I didn’t know he was shooting lol.
#this has been the entirely true diary of your friendly neighborhood Stitch#thanks for reading#I promise I'll post some video of the concert in a bit#stitch in real life#bastille#dan smith: deep enough to drown#concert#the wiltern#live music#fanart#IDK what else to tag this but I feel like I's missing something?#oh!#the doctor and stitch
