When I'm not at work, nothing sounds good to do to relax.
No energy for games.
Don't feel like reading.
Social media is boring and I either keep seeing the same posts or get to where I was when scrolling earlier.
I don't feel like being in discord with friends while I'm doing nothing.
I don't have anything to talk about with anyone or anything currently pressing that needs to be discussed.
Not really close enough with anyone anymore within a short drive to just do random shit with.
I feel like I'm burning out with non-work related stuff, basically everyday life, and I don't know how to fix it.
I was feeling better mentally earlier but now I can feel that going away.
Time to be sad and complain about my passive lifestyle that causes people to forget about interacting with me because I assume that if people wanted to interact, they would.
I know it's not that great of a mindset to have.
But if people really wanted to interact, wouldn't they let me know or check up on me every once in a while?
That part isn't meant about people I interact with on a daily or weekly basis, or for my mutuals on here because I know y'all got a bunch of stuff on your own metaphorical plates.
Like shit, I can't even properly communicate outside of being already acquainted or work situations anymore.
I also am a fucking hermit that rarely leaves their room (a point that I've hammered in most vent posts to where it's annoying).
Shit, these "see more" vent posts are probably annoying anyway, especially right now with me posting multiple in a short few days.
I need a proper distraction from everything.
I need to be head empty, no thoughts.
My self hatred thoughts are starting to become too loud again.
I ain't really got much to look forward to in life in general.
I just accept things, no matter how shitty they can be.
I never speak up for myself.
I let people walk all over me.
Not much has changed with this behavior since high school.
I'm going to be 30 next year and I don't know fuck all about how to do adult life
Yeah I'm planning on moving into an apartment with a friend, but again I don't know shit about anything.
I can already feel that I'm going to fuck up somewhere in this planning.
I just know it.
If I can't trust myself to take care of myself, how am I going to trust myself to be responsible for any of the stuff that comes with finally leaving home.
Shit, the reason I ended my last relationship was because I can't take care of myself and I don't make enough to even think of being able to, so how am I going to be able to be a decent partner?
And with the apartment plans, this is a ride or die friendship, and all the other plans for her fell through, and I want to help as best as I can. But I'm now remembering the above paragraph. How the fuck are things going to work out?
I'm fucking useless, I can't adapt to good changes, I constantly blow off opportunities that are presented to me.
I genuinely wonder how people can enjoy my presence.
As hammered in of a point as it is in these vent rant shit fuck posts, I literally bring nothing to the table for friendships/relationships/etc that is useful.
I'm always the one people are having to help, and I want to repay everyone for however they've assisted me in life, but I'll never be able to.
Honestly there is no point to this post besides me just constantly putting myself down.
My brain is telling me I'm just a waste of people's time, resources, and efforts.
I definitely know I'm the family disappointment, I'm the biggest fuck up on the family trees and I'm not going to be responsible for bringing more life into this fucked world we live on.
I don't know where I'm going anymore with this post.
It just went from talking about how I'm getting non-work burnout and now it's just "fuck I'm not worth any effort".
Should I rethink posting this for my mental health and for friends who care about me? Probably. Am I going to? No, I need to get this all out of my head.
Edit: I forgot to mention how I've been trying to avoid emotions towards people. I don't need to be having feelings for anyone right now since I can't handle taking care of myself. I've somehow caught feelings for someone. I hate it. Even more dumb is I'm trying to fight those feelings by getting to know a cute coworker. I can't stop being an idiot.
Edit 2: Now that I've over thought it some more, a relationship with me for anyone wouldn't even be a healthy one. Reasons as to why? Read the above paragraphs. You can even talk to my exes. The relationships weren't all bad, I'm just kinda emotionally checked out and am not that great with being there.
I don't like having feelings anymore. I was getting used to being fine without associating any sort of feelings toward specific people. Sure I complained about being lonely, but I just crave being touched in any way. I haven't had a good hug in a while.
Edit 3: Damn, I knew I wasn't doing alright, but NSFW content ain't doing anything for me right now. That's how you know I'm hardcore out of it.

SUCCESS STORY (manifesting)
Tumblr media
OMFG you guys! I did it! I made it to my desired reality! I'm living my desired life!
All I did was decide it's done. More specifically, I just did Angel's fulfillment challenge (which you don't have to do). Everyday I just decided to live like I was in my desired reality right now as often as I could and whenever I wanted to.
If I vented, I vented. If I ranted I ranted. If I sabotaged my manifestation I just decided it wouldn't matter and that nothing would ruin my manifestation and everything was ok and fine.
And this is totally optional but I affirmed sometimes. I just did to remind myself that it was done.
My affirmations were:
-I'm living my desired life
-Nothing can ruin my manifestation
-I'm in my desired reality
-I'm in my desired reality in my penthouse in Tokyo
-I have all my desires
-The 3D conforms instantly
And it worked! And now I'm happy! I woke up today IN my penthouse in Tokyo! The view of the city is amazing. I checked my bank account and it turns out I'm super rich! Like I literally have BILLIONS of dollars. And it's like I always get millions of dollars out of nowhere! So it's like I get paid just to exist!
Also life in this reality is soooooooo different than on Earth. Like the people in the city are nice... but they aren't just humans beings. I'm seeing Japanese monsters walking around wearing uggs! I can also see Godzilla walking around in a place in the city it's so cool! (don't worry, they made a place in the city specifically for her)
I can also enter the void anytime I fall asleep. Like everytime I go to sleep I wake up IN the void state completely aware. I know this because I just decided I would go to sleep and I did! (one of the things I also manifested, to fall asleep instantly)
And guess what? I also revised my ENTIRE life. Like all the shitty, terrible things that happened to me and all the awful things I've done are GONE! They never happened. All the arguments I had with people on Youtube are gone, they never happened. I never met those people. All the people who I argued with on Discord, well I never argued with them. All the problems with my family are gone.
I also have new memories of me being in Highschool. It went great! I made some friends, they never got angry at me, I got to play my videogames, and I never had to deal with any kind of stress. And I also have my college degree even though I never went to college.
Also let me show you what I look like:
This body:
Tumblr media
This is my hairstyle (except it's white colored):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is my face (trigger warning: AI art, also dw I'm black):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I'm like popular on Twitter. I'm as popular as @rariatoo. People follow my art and they love drawing my OCs and characters, it's so much fun. Plus I have a patreon and a redbubble. I get to make my OCs as plushies and stickers and ship them off.
And the best part is that there's no wars! No covid, no genocide in the Congo or Palestine, no racism, no problems. And there never will be, everything is fine! Its literally a Utopia.
Summary of what I manifested:
-Desired life & reality
-Freezing Time
-Revising entire life
-Different family (same soul but different looks (slightly) and better personality)
-Entering the void whenever I fall asleep and at will
-A butler friend who I can summon and make disappear at will (he's super nice and never have any problems, perfect personality, kinda shy, and we just had some woopie 🥵🤪)
-Magic (I can do LOTS of crazy stuff)
-Being able to shift realities at will
-Visiting my family through a magic door (my family lives in what I call, "Reality # 3 and I can visit them anytime I want)
-Spawning groceries and food whenever I want (I still go out, dw)
-Friends on discord and some IRL
-Money money monayyyyyyyyyyy
-Perfect health and mental health, no problems with my body
-Never getting yelled at ever again or abused/nobody gets abused/abuse doesn't exist. Yellers don't exist.
& a lot of other personal things
You guys got this! You can get your dream life! Go for it! *I didn't get my dream life yet, that's why the title reads:
"SUCCESS STORY (𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴)" When you put "manifesting in the title it means you haven't gotten your desires yet but you're doing it to help you live in the end. SO please don't be angry or offended.*

come back i still need you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
paring : nonidol!jungwon x reader
warnings : character death, ANGST left and right, mentions of being depressed
word count : 1.5k
luna's diary : kinda shed a tear writing this
Tumblr media
IT HAD BEEN, 3 weeks and 6 days, since you left him.
He was stuck in the endless loop of the 4th stage of grief. Depression, and was left wondering if he'll ever move forward to the next stage and accept your death.
Oh how cruel the world was. Taking away his lover and the plans for the future you guys had carefully planned.
You guys were walking on the street on the day it happened. Giggles filling the both of your bodies as a silver band of ring with a small diamond shined on your ring finger. He had just proposed to you, with promises of giving you everything he had to offer, of staying by your side until his last breath, to grow up even more and have little yous running around. Maybe you could get a dog and a cat and live in a beautiful home.
And then it happened.
He still remembers the way you shoved him to the side as a car came speeding towards you. Your yells still ringing in his ears from the past 3 weeks.
He remembers slowly walking to you trying to take in what just happened. In the corner of his eye he could see the once silver, shiny ring now covered in blood. Your blood. It was everywhere. He felt sick to his stomach. He cradled your face as he broke into sobs. "No no this can't be happening baby wake up" He called out for you as his sobs turned into a breakdown. He saw the light in your eyes slowly disappear. He saw the love of his life leave him, even though you were right there.
2 days later, it was your funeral. As everyone showed him sympathy and gave him hugs. He was still in denial. The first stage of grief. He couldn't even count the amount of times he heard "let me know if you need anything, Jungwon". He needed you back in his arms, but none of the people could give him that. There's no way you could have just left, right? What about the promises? The home? The dog and the cat? mini yous?
Few days later, he slowly slipped into the second stage of grief. Anger. He was mad at no one but himself. He should have been the one to die, not an angel like you. The car should have hit him. Not you. Or maybe he was mad at you too? why would you sacrifice yourself and leave him alone?
Then came in the third stage of grief. Bargain. He prayed and prayed that this would be a long painful nightmare. No way the world could have been so cruel on him. He was just 20 wanting to see life with you by his side, there's no way his fate was written like this.
After realising that this wasn't a dream, and you really were gone, entered the 4th stage of grief. Depression. He was an empty void as he laid on his bed all day leaving all his friends worried. He only got up to eat, which was very rare by the way. Leaving the texts his friends sent him on delivered, he read the last conversation you had with him. Where he mentioned the date and that he had a surprise for you and your excited text messages as a small smile crept on his lips. How he wished he never took you out.
Come back. He still needs you.
It was a new day as the sun shone through Jungwon's curtains. Today, was your one month anniversary, of you getting engaged and also since you left. Today was the worst of all days. It had been a month? no way. "i wish i could turn back time and change everything" he mumbled.
"Time" he jolted up as he remembered something you said about turning back time. Hope rushed through his eyes as he swiftly got out of his bad and rushed to take a shower and get ready. He could not believe he did not think of this sooner. Getting dressed, he rushed out of his home. Coming back taking the ring you once wore in his hands and heading to his car.
"I'm going to get you back, my love"
20 minutes later he reached your apartment. He did not have the courage to step into your apartment after your death. Opening the door he smelled your familiar scent for the first time in a month. Not wanting to waste time, he got in and rummaged through your belongings. "Where is it, god damn".
Finally spotting the shiny wooden box. He picked it up seeing a necklace with a tiny clock in it. Wearing it, he saw as it started to glow.
"How may I help you today?" a voice spoke out as he looked at a beautiful woman in front of him.
"Who must you be? you're not one of them" The voice continued referring to your blood line. "I'm Yang Jungwon, I lost my lover in a car accident, exactly a month ago from now"
"You wish to bring her back?" The voice questioned him. "Yes I need to please. She mentioned about this pendent to me a while back. You need to help me" He replied begging. "Jungwon, I'd suggest you move on. You'll lose yourself if anything goes downhill, and there are less number of chances of it going good and it going bad." The female figure said showing sympathy. "Please, miss. I don't have anything to lose anymore, she was my everything" He said breaking down into a sob.
Sighing, she touched the pendent on his colar. "What time do you want to go to?" she asked giving in. "Exactly a month ago" He said as the necklace started to glow again. "Goodluck, Jungwon" she said.
He was going to make sure you were alive. But at what cost?
In a blink of an eye, he was back. On the street, with you. "I honestly didn't expect you to do it today" Your voice said. Oh how he missed your voice, to see your face in front of him again and to hold his hand. He suddenly remembered why he was here as he became hyper-aware of his surroundings. He knew the car would be coming your way any second. Before he could think of changing your position, it was too late. The car was already coming towards you at an increasing pace. There was no way he could save the both of you.
So he did what he initially came back for.
He saved you.
Shoving your body to the side, he felt the car hit him as he lost consciousness. The last thing he saw was you standing and looking at him in utter shock. Atleast you were safe and alive.
"Jungwon? baby hey, wake up" you cradled his face and broke down into sobs, the same way he did, in another time line. You left a peck on his forehead as you left him there rushing to your apartment.
I'm not going to lose you Jungwon. Not like this.
You rummaged through your belongings, the same way he did. Wearing the pendent, you wished to go back 20 minutes from your present.
You were back with him, on the same street, holding his hand as you listened to him talk to you. You knew the time was near as you walked faster looking for a turn that could divert you form the path in which it was about to happen. Before you could find something, you heard the car's tire screech behind you. There was no way you could save the both of you.
So you did what you initially came for.
You saved him.
You shoved him to the side as the car came in contact with your body. The last thing you saw, was him. Atleast he was safe and alive.
He slowly walked to you trying to take in what just happened.
It was a new day as the sun shone through Jungwon's curtains. Today, was your one month anniversary, of you getting engaged and also since you left. Today was the worst of all days. It had been a month? no way. "i wish i could turn back time and change everything" he mumbled.
Fast forward to him wishing of going back to a month prior to save you. He managed to save you, but lost his life. Not being able to manage with the grief of him gone, you tried to save him. You managed to do so, but you lost yours in exchange. And this continued.
The woman was right afterall when she warned the two you.
Trying to save eachother, the both of you were stuck and lost yourselves in an endless time loop.

Hypersexual
Astarion x Y/N - drabble - 1K WC
Masterlist
Warnings: reference to SA if you squint?, Astarion being soft, reader being defensive af, persistent Astarion, happy ending because I'm weak
————————————
It was one of the first things Astarion noticed about you. Your bed was rarely empty. The Grove, the Goblin Camp, the Underdark, Moonrise Towers, etc. Everywhere you went you seemed to have a warm body beside you by the end of the night. Himself included. He pined for your attention. Feeding from you daily brought you close, sleeping with you brought you closer, opening up bit by bit brought you even closer. And yet, he could still find the occasional rando leaving your tent at first light. If he listened closely enough, he could almost always hear sniffles coming from your tent every time someone left. He typically ignored it, opting to not care so he didn’t get attached. Unfortunately for him, he was attached. He had been for a while and seeing people leave your tent was like a knife to the chest every time. He wanted to confront you eventually, so that's what he did.
He walked over to your tent, hearing the sniffles intensify the closer he got. When he peered inside he saw your naked form, balled up tight, sobbing quietly. He saw the hickies and claw marks the tiefling from last night had left on you. “Y/N?” he whispered.
You swiftly wiped your tears away as you moved to cover yourself up. “Astarion, darling. It’s so early, is everything alright?” You threw on the best smile you could manage while willing yourself to shed no more tears.
“Why are you crying?” he asked as he moved into your tent fully.
“Tears of pleasure.” you waved him off, doing your best to sound lustful.
“You’re a terrible liar, my sweet.” he said as he sat opposite from you but still giving you space.
You sighed, rolling your eyes, “Why do you care anyways?” you cringed internally, that sounded harsher than you intended.
Astarion’s eyes softened a bit, “Because I care for you.” he said honestly.
“Because I’m your blood bag,” you scoffed. “Worry not, I’m well enough for you to feed so… get on with it I guess.” you said as you tucked your hair behind your ear, leaning in for him to chomp down on your pulse point.
Yet you felt nothing but the cold night air. Your eyes found his after a moment of hesitation. “What?” you said.
“You are so much more than food.” he said, a guilty look on his face. Is that all you thought of him? Somebody using you? “Why do you sleep with them?” he asked suddenly, trying to connect the dots in his head.
Your eyes widened, “It’s none of your business.” you said, your voice wavering. “I like sex, so why not?” your eyes avoided his, afraid he would see the truth in them.
“Terrible liar.” he whispered, his foot tapping against your knee trying to get your attention.
“Because it makes it all hurt a little less!” you yelled, his consistent questioning pushing you over the edge. “Because it fills the fucking void somebody put inside me. They used me, they hurt me. So if I can be desired, even for a moment, I will.” you felt tears stream down your cheeks as Astarion watched you, his mouth slightly agape. “This horrible feeling sits inside me like tar. Black and oozing and there is nothing I can do to fix it. I sleep with them because I want to know I can still be desired if I cannot be loved.”
“Who said you cannot be loved?” he said, leaning forward to wipe a tear from your face with his thumb.
“I… I just can’t… nobody can love me after what they did to me. Taking my body, playing with it while I just laid there… frozen. I thought they loved me…” you mumbled, memories from your past flooding you.
“I love you.” he said simply.
Your head whipped up to gaze at him, “You don’t even know what love is Astarion.” you turned away from him so he couldn’t see you cry.
“On the contrary… I have seen lust. I did it for 200 years. But this ache I have inside me, the longing I have for you and only you. That, I believe, is love. And… I like to imagine you feel the same way.” Astarion put a hand on your shoulder, moving slowly when you initially flinched away.
“How can you love me? Aren’t you disgusted?” you whimpered. You wanted to believe him so badly, but how could you? You were made to be used.
Astarion shifted so he could see you as he tilted your quivering chin upwards. “For sleeping with others? Darling I have bedded thousands.” he rubbed your cheek reassuringly.
“That’s different. You didn’t have a choice.” you said, your voice coming out strained.
“I would argue that you didn’t either. When someone violates you like that… I’ve seen it go two ways. You overindulge, or you isolate. Both are natural reactions. Yours was to try and find solace, penance in others. None of it is shameful… it’s just… how things are I suppose.” he said, struggling a bit to find the right words but you felt the connection he was trying to make.
“Each of them took a little piece of my soul… I’m not sure how much is left of me to give.” you shuddered in a breath, trying to calm yourself.
“I don’t want your soul… All I ask is your heart, in exchange for mine.” he smiled at you, moving to hold your hand while he cupped your cheek. You had never seen eyes with so much sincerity and kindness.
“I… I’d like that.” you whisper, leaning your forehead against his for a moment before your eyes opened once again with worry. “Do we have to…” you motioned between the two of you and the bedroll.
“Not until you want to. Completely, freely.” he nodded at you.
“And if I never want to?” you asked cautiously.
“Then I will love you all the same.” he leaned in slightly. He could feel your breath on his lips but waited for you to close the gap.
You kissed him softly. He could feel the fear and apprehension in your kiss. While you felt the patience and adoration in his.

Naboo's Note:
Hello lovelies! Hope ya'll like this one as well. Two in one night? What a deal lol I really like this one. Is it a bit of a trauma dump? Yes but writing is how I get it out and Astarion would 10000% comfort me through any of it. We love a supportive king. What a guy. Anyways! - be safe everyone, see ya'll soon!

𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲
it has been almost seven months now, and nothing has happened. nothing.
crowley has yet to still find you a way home, dealing with multiple overblots has become far too tiring to deal with, and having to be the one to solve everyone's problem was too much.
where was your help? why hasn't anyone helped you get back home?
sure, the last few months in twisted wonderland have been lots of fun, but you still didn't belong here. you don't belong here.
you just wanted to go back home, even if that meant dealing with the pain of leaving everyone else that you care deeply for.
"Headmage?" you call out to the man, opening the large door into his office. the man was sitting near his desk, seemingly busy with a bunch of paperwork that was scattered on the table.
he'd shift his gaze up away from the papers, a wide grin spreading across his lips as he dropped his pen. "Ah, well if it isn't Ramshackle's Prefect! What may I be of help to you?"
his voice booms loudly, watching as you approach his desk, fiddling with your fingers. "Uhm... I just wanted to know if there was anything that you found... to help me get home?"
with those words alone, crowley's grin faltered slightly, and you already seemed to know what his answer would be.
"A.. Ah! Right, I am... uh, I'm still looking into it of course! Just a little delayed with... uh, well, with all this paperwork. But worry not, I'll find you a way back home soon enough!"
and it's taking you six months?
you would let out a sigh of disappointment. you knew how this would end, but you had hoped with how long had passed that maybe, just maybe, crowley would've found something.
"Well, I still have a lot of work right now, so how about you hurry along now. You wouldn't want Grim causing any trouble now, right?" the man would shoo you away, and you'd find yourself leaving his office soon enough.
"Hah... what a letdown."
"-ease! Please! Just help me find a way back!" you yelled, screaming desperately for the person's assistance.
"Why should I?" their voice was cold, filled with nothing. a void of any emotion as tears welled in your eyes. "Aren't you supposed to be the one helping people? Why would I be doing your job?"
you could only stay silent as tears streamed down your cheeks, staring at the person before you.
"How about you go and kill yourself and see if you'll get home that way."
you immediately sat up, panting heavily as you looked around the room. you'd lean back against the headboard, trying to catch your breath as your gaze shifted over to the side of you to see grim's sleeping form.
"Fuck..." you brought your hands up to cover your face, feeling all the tears coming out again.
you sobbed quietly in your hands, staying as quiet as possible to keep from waking the feline next to you. fuck! fuck! fuck!
"Is there really no way of going back...?" your voice croaked, wiping the tears away as you stared down at the small beast next to you, moving one hand down to pet his small, chubby body.
"It's ok. Crowley will find something soon. I just gotta keep hoping for it."

Determination! (Platonic)
Warning for this chapter: fisher tigers part is much more serious. It’s talks of slavery and while it isnt too graphic it does included a lot of mature themes. If that makes you uncomfortable please skip over it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You find that your dreams are very disjointed
Granted, you normally don’t dream at all
It’s typically just empty blackness as you fall into unconsciousness and then back into the waking world
But when you do have a dream every once in a blue moon
It’s…odd
Even for Dream standards you think their somewhat odd
The voices of those long past that you’d met cheering you on
Flashes of multicoloured sparks
The endless expanse of space as you stare at a star
It’s an old one, a dying one
Your not sure how you know that information yet you do
And you watch it die with sparkling eyes
It implodes on itself
Creating a massive explosion of light and energy that dispersed throughout the galaxy
Bright white light shattering into every colour imaginable into the void of space
The energy going in every corner of the universe
A supernova
Your not sure how you know that word but it comes into your mind
Perhaps it hasn’t even been invented yet because you know for a fact that knowledge on stars was vastly limited
Yet that doesn’t stop you from knowing knowledge you never knew before
You reach out towards the remnants of the dead star in a trance
The cheers of the dead yelling “stay determined!”
You open your mouth to eat the star shards
And then you wake up
How curious
Sun Pirates
In your time adrift at the endless sea you had come across many people of many races
Humans, odd winged people, mermaids, devil fruit users, marines and pirates
So it doesn’t come as a surprise when you come across a group of fishmen sailing the sea
They all look over deck at you with a mixture of expressions
Some worry, others pity and some with conflict
But as they all watch a Fishman with rose red skin, a tattoo of a sun on his chest and black hair tied back with a bandanna
He ushers them aside to look Down at you from what you assume to be his ship
“Hi! Do any of you know what part of the sea I’m in?. I think it’s the north blue? But I’m not sure. You’d think with the amount of time I’ve been afloat I’d be able to tell but-“
“Kid are you alone?!”
“Do you see anyone else on this ship?”
You don’t have much of a choice before your brought upon their ship
To their surprise though your not scared?
In fact you seem rather amused at the predicament your in
One that would usually leave normal people scared shitless
But it’s easy for the entire crew to tell your not a normal kid
Especially as you seem to find interest in what type of marine animals each member is
Even more so when you ask about how the capabilities/features of said marine animal
It’s…odd how knowledgeable you are despite your young age
And when they ask about it you just say “I know from experiences on the sea”
Like the fuck is that supposed to mean when your talking about the dangerous venom of the stonefish
They are worried
Like real worried
Some are still off put by the fact your a human but with how your talking the mixture of shock and concern overpower it
God they never thought they’d be fretting over a human but when you talk in visceral odd detail about how sharks occasionally eat people when desperate or confusing them for other prey
It’s a bit freaky
Doesn’t help that it’s oddly specific which makes it seem much more personal
And how you explain all these facts with a completely wide smile not noticing how their all horrified
Their captain Fisher tiger is especially worried when he questions you about how you ended up alone at sea in the first place
He keeps pressing you on the matter but always gets the same response of “I set out to sea and haven’t looked back” and “I’m not sure if my island exists anymore. It’s not like anyone would remember me, I’ve been gone for such a long time”
That implies so much and at the same time is very vague
This poor man is a few migraines away from bashing his head against a wall
But other than that and the worry he finds you to be an interesting kid
While watching you interact with his crew he notices that you treat them all as regular people
You don’t make snide comments nor do you go off of stereotypes to categorize them
Instead you see them as their own individual people
People who were owed respect no matter their race or appearance
And even when a few aren’t exactly the most friendly towards you your respect
Giving them space as you see their uncomfortable
For a kid your emotionally aware in a way that even most adults can’t compare
You can tell if someone has deep rooted trauma and don’t push the subject
Going out of your way not to bring up bad memories associated with humans if your presence did so
There were seemingly no bad feelings about it either
Just pure understanding in your eyes from possible personal experience
Even when he harbours hate for you it’s brushed off as seemingly nothing personal
When your not conversing your quietly helping around
Somehow knowing how to raise the sails and properly clean the deck
Never telling anyone of your deeds and just doing them to help out
It’s clear by how organic it is for you that your used to doing it
Yet your own …”ship” is something more akin to a poorly put together raft
Everything about you is odd
And for a long while he isn’t sure if that’s good or bad
Fisher is a man haunted by the actions inflicted upon him
A shared trauma among all his people from humans
He does not discriminate when rescuing slaves but he still has his own afflictions towards humans
The actions of them still on his skin and baring his soul
Yet he allows you on his ship despite it
Because he knows your a child
Someone who had not harmed him nor his people
Someone who’s innocent to the horrors of the world
To the harm done by your race
He grapples with his own hated for you because of something you cannot pick
He feels guilty and horrible for it
Yet the look in your eyes says that you understand him somehow
And that makes him feel worse
A child should not understand hatred from others
Let alone understand why he feels hatred towards them
And then also accept it with such empathy
it hurts
he's reminded of the guards who used to sneer at him for being who he was
you feel no sadness due to his gaze
only kindness as you do your best to avoid him
in some sense you understand why he gazes at you that way
you can't blame him, not when you yourself had been victim of the abuse of your own kind
looked down upon as dirt
seen as lesser
what hurts worse though is that you can't solely blame one group like he and some of his men can do
your human and your hurt by other humans
maybe it's worse in some aspects
it's why you give an understanding look in your eyes despite his occasional glare
Jinbe is perhaps the one you spend the most time with on the ship other than Hatchan
There is apprehension at first but what follows after a short period of time is kindness
Your just a kid
One not guilty for the crimes of others
He can’t blame someone’s actions on you
Especially when your nothing but respectful to them all despite their hesitation due to your race
He reminds you of a gentle giant which is fitting with what marine animal he’s acquainted to
Most times spent with him are ones where he listens to your words
Finding interest and intrigue in your stories and facts of the sea
It seems far fetched a child experienced all this but the look in your eyes says it’s true
The small mementos that hang on your form like hand woven bracelets, necklaces of shells and shark teeth, a coat befit for a captain hanging on your shoulders and bandana tied around your forehead to keep your hair tangled with pearls back
Their all signs that somehow your tales are true
As amazing and horrifying as they seem their true
And it leaves him feeling anxious
Your a good kid
Maybe one of the best he’s met so far and seeing the wear and tear on you hits him hard
You put up a smile and bare through whatever someone throws your way
Never once speaking back unless your standing up for someone besides yourself
It’s admirable but he sees how it has worn you down
Once upon a time he can imagine you smiling out of actual joy
And now it’s a mechanism for you to write off your pain
Your selfless to a fault
And on the sea people take advantage of that
But perhaps you already experienced that
And it leaves Jinbe’s stomach swirling with unease
He frets over you like a mother hen when you throw all regard for safety away and when you get something simple like a paper cut cause he knows either way you won’t care to tend to your own wounds
He honestly at the point wonders if this is what being a mother feels like
But he can’t contemplate that long cause Arlong is being a dick once again
Tension with him was high before but now Jinbe has half the mind to knock him square in the jaw if he kicks you again
And now he has half the mind to shake some sense into you when you walk it off
God he needs some sort of therapist cause he does not know how to help you beyond being protective and patching you up
It’s obvious that your hurt beyond repair on the inside
The times he’s found you just simply staring off towards the sea with a dead look in your eyes is a testament to that
A call of longing in long gone innocent eyes that still retain kindness despite it all
In those moments he just sits by your side and holds you
You grasp him like a lifeline
Something anchoring you down to reality as your mind makes you remember
He tells stories of fishmen island to distract you
He noticed though that when he tells of the promise to fishmen island from joyboy something in your eyes light up
Sparkles of light within them that dance but then fizzle away after a moment along with a shiver gliding down his back for some reason
He writes it off though
Just going back to his tales
It’s under yet another moon lit night you end up staring out at sea again
Memories of the past swirling in your mind like a hurricane
You can’t help it
Not after being reminded of one life you particularly didn’t like
You didn’t mean to overhear Fisher and Jinbe but it just happened
The captain of the crew talking about his time as a slave
The horror inflicted upon him at the hands of humans
You just keep staring out at the water
Burying yourself deeper into your subconscious trying to escape
But you can’t
Too distracted by the memories that you don’t even notice the two coming out the captains quarters to find you
Vacantly staring out at sea
Your staring out at the water
A deep empty stare
Darkness swirling in your irises
Occasionally you twitch, a jolt of imaginary pain burning your back once more
You sometimes still feel the pain of the brand that luckily now doesn’t haunt your skin
You hadn’t felt it in a long while until you realized after hearing him talk the tattoo of the sun on him was his brand covered up
It served as some sort of trigger
The memories came flooding back
The pain
The torture
The screams
The death
The rot
The overwhelming plea for death in a hell that became a limbo realm
Your hands trace the symbol on the wood lightly
Every couple of months (or maybe years? Your not sure) these thoughts and memories came up
It’s a normal cycle for you
Yet now they hit harder after seeing his tattoo
Cause it makes you think of them
Of the 3 sisters, the names of you never got as your mind makes the effort to forget what you experienced
Up until now you always had the worry of forgetting
You had been alive for a long time
so much so that your memories are inconsistent and blur together
Yet your time as a slave is something clear in your head that you wish erase
To wipe clean from your mind and bury
Yet you can’t will yourself to forget them
Because of those 3 girls you’d befriended over scraps of dry bread
Of the shared pain that was all understood from the four of you
Crying silently together while huddled in the dark
Cleaning one another’s bruises
The eldest girl of the bunch holding you one night when noticing your shivering form, the other two following in the action of huddling around you
A budding friendship formed from barely any words but silent understanding and conversations though looks
You can’t abandon their memory even if it’s attached to other ones you wished to bleach from your mind
It’s there staring into the darkened water you mutter 2 words that had been erased from your mind out of fear
“Celestial dragons”
The words are spat out like a curse yet your tone is full of emptiness
It’s something only someone affected by them could say in such a tone
Perhaps that’s why Fisher now looks at you with realization
“You…you were one too?”
“Yeah, it…I think it was a couple years back, I’m not sure though. The passage of time is hard for me to notice anymore, it all blurs together. Hell I can barely remember my life before the sea, I know I had parents and then they died but…I can’t remember their faces. Anyways, I was captured and sold, ended up in some dungeon.” For a moment you pause going over your memories as you pinch your chin in thought, the way you speak about it is nonchalant yet holds a lot of untold weight “it’s a blur of pain, I remember it specifically on my back. I try to limit how clear it is cause I don’t specifically like remembering it. There were these 3 girls though, sisters who all ended up in the same cell as me. We found kinship in our situation, I gave them the scraps of food I got since they needed it more than me.”
“Do you know what happened to them?” At hearing this you turn to Jinbe, a solemn expression crossing your face as an answer
“Not sure. I…like to hope that their ok, that they found their way back home” your tone is anything but hopeful, cracking with gloom that’s evident in your eyes “but hoping is all I can do. I wished for death when I was there, hoping they’d just finish me off so I could move on. At some point though I began to hope, those 3 girls needed someone there for them and I hoped I could remain just for them”
“Why’d you escape then?”
“I didn’t have choice.”
“What do you mean? That doesn’t really make sense”
They watch as an odd look forms in your eyes
They sparkle with unknown mystery
Something old and sentimental
Something ancient despite the young face you have
“Can you keep a secret?”
They look at one another for a moment
A silent conversation between the two
Jinbe is the one who nods first, your gaze then shifting to Fisher who takes a moment to look at you
He never noticed it till now but your eyes have something about them that…seems inhuman
For a second he swears he even sees stars sparkle in them
Great big shining stars that light the night sky’s and allow sailors to navigate the treacherous seas they love and call home
Stars that when he looks at reminds him of his freedom
Of not staring at the ceiling of a cage
Stars he wished to grasp at back in the days he wore shackles
Stars that for some reason now seemed to shine brighter, as if mirroring your resolve
He nods, watching a moment of vulnerability shine through eyes that look blank for a child
Eyes that have seen horrors
Eyes that had lost their twinkle of innocence yet still retain childlike charm in viewing the world
Eyes that sparkle of something ancient and old, residing in the depths of your irises like a great deity in the void of the night sky
“Have you heard about a star that never dies?” And so you begin your tale
By the time your done your tale they both sit there in silence
A deafening and choking silence that grips at you like the old collar of rusting steel or ball and chain that used to be attached to your leg
A sign of having your freedom weighed down
Locked away
You had once tried to break that leg but the girls stopped you
The eldest of them crying for you to stop
So you did
You watch them both stay in silence
And then see the tears line their eyes
And then they crumble like a cracked heart
Jinbe falling first as he grips you
Strong and battle-worn hands now soft and gentle
Afraid that you’d fade away
Afraid what would happen if he let go
It’s what you expected from him
But then You look to Fisher and find him in a similar state much to your surprise, if not he might be even worse than how Jinbe is handling what you told
Pure grief in his eyes
Regret
Pain
Solidarity
Familiarity
And most of all empathy
It pours out from him like his tears
Like a waterfall with never ending raging water crashing down onto the rocks
it’s loud and passionate
Covers up the internal screams of the past latching back onto him, into the lingering scars
Stinging Pain sinking back into those same spots like the angry gnashing claws of a beast
He’s hurting
But so are you
Your hurting together through shared experiences and ones he could never wish to experience
Jinbe holds you for a long while
Time melts away as do the phantom pains of those long past days
You hold him back
The soft material of his yukata pulling you in even further
Warmth
Comfort
Understanding
And your unspoken words of ‘thank you’ to his of ‘I’m sorry, I’m so sorry’
You let time melt away a little more as they find themselves once more
“Why did you tell us this?” Fisher asks this with tears still falling down his face. Jinbe holds you close, webbed hand behind your head as he pulls you closer. You hear the waves lapping at the boat and the beats of his heart, it thumps like a drum. Rhythmically helping your equally torn apart emotions.
“I heard you talking about your experience. I thought it’s fair that I do the same” it’s said in such a simple manner that it makes the two fishmen reel back in shock for the third time in a night. It’s said in such sincerity and innocence, as if that was something normal “an equal exchange,If you will”
The crew watch on in confusion the next morning at the expression of thinking Fisher has on his face
Along with the clear signs of crying that Jinbe and him hold
People push but neither say a word
They say it isn’t their story to tell as their eyes trail back to you sitting with Hatchan
Playing a game innocently
Obliviously
Like a regular kid
Most don’t push after their captains grim expression
The look in his eyes
Some keep their curiosity to a low lit flame yet don’t get anywhere on the account they can’t get you to spill anything and Jinbe doesn’t exactly like them being nosey
So it eventually fizzles out
Things back back to normal
You tell your tales
Show them games they’d never played
You in turn learn more about fishman and mermaid society
But then you leave just as abruptly as you appeared
It’s weird to say but at a diner with them all as shanties are sung you just randomly say that soon you’ll be leaving
And despite how most of them hate to admit it
They didn’t want you to go
Hatchan is comically crying as a few others stubbornly argue against it
That it’s dangerous and you could get yourself killed
They look to Fisher and Jinbe who had been more observant of you as of late (if that’s even more humanly possible for Jinbe)
But their met with a reaction none had thought would happen
They object
They say it’s your choice and they cant shackle you here
The sea was your home
And so the decision for your leave was cemented
In the days leading up to it you spend time with most the crew
But they all notice that at night you and their captain look out to the sky at night
Silence conversations happening through mere looks
pure understanding
Just pure solemn understanding
None make comments on it if they see it
Don’t mention it and forget it ever happened out of respect for both parties
And when the time comes to leave they all watch (some crying even) while waving goodbye
You promise them you’d meet again
“You’ll all be at sea right? Then that means you’ll definitely see me again someday! Wait and see! Grasp your freedom strong and tight, never take it forgranted”
Fisher watches and waves as you drift off into the distance, he holds a gentle smile
He hopes he’d meet you again
Hopes that perhaps you’d somehow end up on fishman island and talk to his people
As much as he thought Otohime’s talks of humans and fishmen working together in harmony were a naive and impossible dream
Perhaps if there were more humans like you it could work
And maybe
Just maybe
It would help both sides see that in the end neither were that different from one another
In your words on the silent night before you left “we both bleed, we feel and in the end we both have the same fates don’t we?. At heart no matter if your fishman, mermaid, human or anything else we experience the same gifts of life. We are all equal in the fact we are born on this earth and die here, and with that comes the desire for freedom and the pursuit of happiness”
He and his crew still have a lot to grapple with on the road to change
But you helped them start the first steps in overcoming the hate for your kind
A young immortal human child who had seen horrors upon horrors
Inflicted by their own kind that they will never stop loving with all their heart
Because you believe that inherently almost every sentient creature is born with kindness in them. It’s the world that corrupts it
When they are asked to take a former slave girl back to her hometown he does not have any hesitation to do so
He hopes that this is the next step in overcoming his hatred
Mihawk
Mihawk thought he was going to have a nice and relaxing day
His morning had been going great, a nice glass of red wine before he trained, a good breakfast
And then when he went outside of his castle there he finds is a young child looking around confused
….god damn it
So yeah, you died and just randomly appeared on the island that houses the greatest swordsman currently in the world
Not exactly your first choice but it wasn’t the worse
Well wasn’t bad instil the swordsman himself shows up looking as confused as you were
Yeah seems like you have some explaining to do
And dying or running away wouldn’t exactly help with the endeavour either since he seems intent on an answer
So here you are
In a gothic mansion lead by Mihawk into a room as he calmly sits down and asks you to explain
Now
And so you do
Well…you do the best you can to explain your entire situation as he sits there with a blank expression
By the end he just sighs
To be honest he’s not sure if he believes it or not but he takes it as an answer for now
And after that you two form an odd friendship and routine as you spend your time on his island
To his pleasure your polite and not loud
Silently watching him train or go about his day
Along with that conversations with you are actually quite pleasant
Mihawk is a man of very few words
Only shanks is able to get him talking with the help of finely aged booze
Yet talking with you comes naturally as breathing the air around him
It’s intriguing
Especially as it seems your story isn’t a bluff for how personally and detailed your recounts of events are
Colour him impressed
you talk of Roger in a way that only Shanks could do
Describe the gods valley event with details only found in classified marine files
Not only that but your also a good storyteller
Telling such events in glorious ways that he can’t help but listen to the liquid gold that is your voice
The treasure trove of stories that flow out your mind
He must admit that he can’t help but sit on the edge of his seat
Wanting to hear more
In this time he comes to care for you
Your a child eternally
One in a cruel world that preys on the weak
While you may be strong mentally (god knows if you hadn’t then you would’ve gone insane) but physical your not
What doesn’t help is your total and utter lack of self awareness
God knows the amount of times he’d saved your ass from being killed by Humandrills
After awhile they seem to get the memo of leaving you alone but that still doesn’t stop you from almost dying in other ways
Almost walking off a cliff
Almost falling into a river
Almost getting hit by a piece of falling stone
He is now paranoid and trails you like a shadows or has you stick around him incase of yet another near death incident
God is this what being a dad feels like? Cause that’s how Mihawk feels at this point
He has half the mind to buy a child leash or something similar
Cause if you wander off one more time and almost die he’s gonna-
You make his stress levels go through the roof
Doesn’t help you completely brush of dying as no big deal
As if being eaten that one time isn’t traumatic as hell
He wonders if his position of warlord has some sort of health benefits cause he might look into therapy
Not that you think you need it though, you think your completely fine yet he begs to differ
You find it funny how stoic he is yet you can read him like a book
He shows his growing care through actions
Like making breakfast or decorating a spare room of his castle to something more suited to your taste
The unspoken offer of “if you need a place to stay your always welcome here” through these actions
A silent way of also prepping for you leaving
He knows that moment is coming
Especially as your small “boat” drifts ashore
He’s hardly call that a boat but nether the less it floats on water and you call it a boat
In your time preparing to leave he insists on at least teaching you the basics of using a sword
The proper positioning of your grip and stance
How to give a powerful slash
You pick up quickly, years of watching experienced swordsmen coming into play
He’s proud yet worry sows itself into his brow
Your a kind soul
One that has been put through untold hell and back
Even the strongest sword can bend and break if pressure is put on the perfect point
He doesn’t know what your breaking point will be but he’s worried
Cause inevitably it’s bound to happen
He at least has some peace of mind knowing he taught you how to fight
And when he sends you off he promises that when you next meet he’d have Sword fit for you
The castle feels more lonely without your small pitter patter of footsteps
The air is still when it should be filled with your stories of old
The garden takes more effort than he remembers when your not there to pull out the weeds
The Humandrills seem to miss your presence
It’s odd but you’d left such an impact in such a small amount of time
Mihawk wouldn’t have it any other way though
Hiriluk
Recently on the spring island you found yourself on there had been rumours of a thief going by
Normally this wouldn’t had caught your attention
But one day as you walk past an odd eccentric man with Snow White hair in a ridiculous manner with clearly stolen objects you can’t help but be intrigued
Especially as he shifts into an alleyway, leaning against the grimy wall with a hand over his heart
Coughs racking his entire form
Almost crumbling down as the subsequent spoils of his stealing fall as well
It’s then and there you become invested in this odd man
His story
So you decide to help him
For someone’s who’s a thief you’d thinks he’d be less enthusiastic about giving out his name
But your sorrily mistaken (in a good way) as the man introduces himself as Hiriluk
A master thief of the grand line
A plunderer of countless treasures and various tales
You nod along
Listening intently to his words as you help walk him to his hideout
The poor man is still shaken after his illness acting up again
Apparently as of late it’s been worse, so much so that he fears his days are now limited
But despite that he keeps a quite chipper attitude
Somehow finding enjoyment despite his circumstances
He’s…much like yourself in that sense
Finding joy even in the bleak conditions of your reality
It…is nice in some sense
To find someone a lot like yourself in mindset
Makes conversation much more interesting as you both talk of similar viewpoints
Much like you he is plagued with a curse that follows him everywhere he goes
From island to island
No matter the pace he canning escape his disease
A factor of his life that he must now deal with as he enjoys the time he has left
He’d given up on a cure by now
But…despite that you can’t help but research a bit to at least try
He appreciates the effort but solemnly admits that he’s tried everything
Hell, his island is known for their doctors and they couldn’t help him
He’s a lost cause like anyone with white lead disease
It’s a fact he accepts
And sadly you do so as well
Your stand only works for you
It’s entire purpose is for its user and not for anyone else
Not versatile or has any multiple uses
At least not that you knew of anyways
So on that factor you can’t do anything
So as you accept that fact you instead focus on spending time with the man
Listening to him get drunk and talk of someone named Kureha
An “old witch” with a stubborn edge and sharp tongue
But also has a kind heart
Someone who became a doctor for a reason, to help others as best she could even if she caused some chaos in the process
An odd one just like him (and you he adds with a smile) someone who didn’t fit in with the crowd
But maybe that was ok
Being different could very much be a curse for several reasons
Especially in a judgmental society that is maintained by the world government
But that otherness was also a blessing
Weirdness serving as a catalyst for so many wonderful things
For new ideas
For stubborn creativity that wouldn’t be snuffed out but instead burn bright
For brining together the people society looked down upon and giving them a chance to rise up
Your stay on the island is coming to a close but despite that Hiriluk doesn’t panic or seem depressed at the thought
Instead he finds happiness in the time still left
The conversations that have been spoken
The time he has left in this world being used for something truly nice
Not just stealing
Instead now truly engaging with life
The spring island your both on is now at its fullest bloom
The place was somewhat famous for how beautiful it was but neither of you had yet to see it
So the day before you go you asked if he’d like to go see it with you before you left
A last hurrah
One that would be spent watching the cherry blossoms in full bloom and have lunch
He agreed
The next morning is spent with him getting snacks of all kinds
Him packing them in a small basket as you lead him with the directions you got from locals
The two of you go up the hill overlooking the light pink trees in full bloom
His hand gripping yours as he goes still in shook
The sight is breath taking
Even the air from your lungs is seemingly sucked out at the sight of the trees in full bloom
The petals gently cascading down like snow around you
Getting stuck in your hair and pooling in his cupped hands
His eyes tear up and stare down at the pink petals
It’s breathtaking
And for the first time in a long while he feels ok
There was no blockage in his chest
Nor the looming grip of death on his shoulders
He felt cured
Like an average man that he always wanted to
The dream of his that died long ago in a doctors office when they said it was incurable
But now as he stares he feels hope
Something igniting in him in place of his Illness
These small fluttering petals had an impact on him just as you had
It cured him somehow
You showing him this magical sight cured him
And now he wanted to do that for others
He wanted to show the people of his bleak winter island this magnificent sight
To see pink instead of the white fluttering snow
To see trees not covered in snow that dampened their beauty
To feel the air escape their lungs
The lunch goes by quickly as does your leaving but both of you do so with a smile
He sets off with a new goal and you wish him luck
Telling him that you believe he’d somehow come up with a solution cause people like the two if you always did somehow
He smiles
When he returns back to his home island he sets out to be a doctor
To help cure others just as you had done with him
Some of The petals he collected that day kept in a small glass jar he kept as a souvenir and for testing
When Kureha calls him crazy he takes the words in pride
Recalling back on your time spent together
That odd little kid who had a spirit beyond their days
One who would humour his ramblings
Took him to that fateful place of blooming Sakura that would go on to change his life course forever
A parting gift in both an experience and in changing his life for the good
So he works on bringing that miracle to the winter island he lives on
Despite how impossible it seems he tries
And he tries and tries
And he keeps going despite how many times he is pushed down by yet another failure
You motivate him
The gift you gave him that he wants to share with others motivated him
His new student that in a lot of ways reminds him of you motivated him
Chopper sometimes still wonders why Hiriluk had taken him in
It lingers on the small reindeer’s mind
And it’s glaringly obvious what he’s thinking making the old “doctor” laugh
“Us weirdo’s have to stick together. I learned that from a friend of mine” as he says this the small blue nosed reindeer watches as the man pulls a framed photo off the wall. In it is him and a child with a large smile. “Hopefully one day you’ll meet them.”
“You…do you think they would accept me?”
Hiriluk let’s our a large laugh at that, clutching his sides as small tears line his eyes “if they hung around a old crazy coot like me then I’m sure they’d love you”
His young apprentice feels hope at his words
Sometimes silently staring at the picture with faint hope that one day he’d meet the doctor-….no his dad’s old friend
Perhaps in the future
But for now he had to help him find a cure
His sickness is getting worse and chopper doesn’t now if he could live with himself if he didn’t find a cure
His only lead as of now is some mushroom that can apparently cure anything
It’s a long shot but he has to try
He gazes as the photo once more
Hiriluk’s smiling face staring back along with your own
He’ll make sure Hiriluk will get to see you again
He promises it
With that the young reindeer sets off in the snow
Whenever you see the cascading petals of cherry blossoms you wonder how that odd doctor was doing
Brook
It was at reverse mountain that you had found yourself being picked up by a particular crew
The rumbar pirates had originated in the west blue
A musical band of jolly singing pirates with instruments of all kinds
All of which varied from different islands and cultures
Brough together in musical harmony
It’s amazing to you how music seems to come to them wordlessly
They play and magic is produced from their songs
So much so a baby whale follows them in their journey and is now waiting for them to return
A promise they intend to keep as the travel the sea like any good crew
Whilst the captain and crew are welcoming and friendly there’s one person in particular your drawn to
Brook is a fun and free soul
Constantly with a smile or chuckling out his odd but charming laugh
The musician teaches you piano as best he can
His hands guiding yours as the crew eagerly watch with bright smiles
Eventually as they sing and dance he has you play side by side with him
Placing his top hat in your head as they all call you “mini brook”
It’s fun
Especially as the giant of a man picks up his violin and lets you play alone
The two of you stringing together a melody that the others join in on
Dancing and singing with slurred speech and jumbled steps
Those nights feel like a haze in your mind
One with a rosy tinted filter overtop those memories
Of the songs sung
The dancing as the crew took turns showing you their groove
Taking your hands into their own and your feet atop theirs as they showed you to dance
But then the music began to die
Despite your many deaths you’d experienced and saw of pirates
This was one that was common yet still chilling
Illness
Honestly with how many ships you’d been on your surprised you’d never experienced a death like this
And it’s certainly one you’d never thought they’d have to suffer through
It starts off as one person
And then it spreads
Brook and the others keep you away from the sight
Telling you that they were just hungover
You don’t tell them you know hangovers don’t last several days
As others being to fall Brook keeps to at least trying to keep the facade of things are fine in front of you
Even as he has to take the place of their captain
He has a good facade
But you hear his sobs at night
For his fallen Crew and the fact it’s still spreading
And for you
By god is he worried for you
They’d all talked of the possibility of having you take your small shipped tied to their own and leave
But they all agree it’s too big of a risk
Their at the middle of the sea, it would be a death sentence if they let you go on your own
They can’t have that happen
Even if there’s still a chance here that you’ll die
There’s still the possibility that at least someone will spot their ship
That help can come and at least rescue you
So for now they have you stay
The symptoms come slowly
You feel more tired
Burning up
Laboured breath
Their all mortified as you one day pass out on deck
When you wake up your tucked into bed
Nearby someone sobs
You recognize his voice and blurred figure despite your senses being dulled
Small shaky hands reach for his
And he reciprocated the action repeating that he’s sorry
That he’s so sorry
That it’s his fault
That he was supposed to keep you safe
You say it isn’t his fault but it falls on deaf ears
He keeps crying even as he coughs
You keep saying it’s alright even as it feels harder to breath
Eventually even though everyone is dead or on the brink of dying they decide to do one last number
One last piece
Binks booze
You sit beside Brook having to lean against him for support as both his and your hands drift along the ivory keys
The songs plays full force
The few left playing the tune
Some cheerfully sing with smiles and dance withe one another
But they fall first
Dying with smiles despite it all
You sing in their place along with those who are left
The singing goes down by one as yet another falls down
Violin clattering to the floor
You sing louder in his place despite how your lungs burn and throat feels as if needles scrape against it
Another violinist goes down after this
Brook shakes beside you
He keeps up a smile
You do so as well but tears escape your eyes
A quartet
The cello goes down
A trio
His smile wavers and tears trail down his face now
He’s breaking
The final goes down now
It’s just you and Brook left, but you feel yourself getting weaker
The edges of your eyes have black dotes and every time you close them it’s harder to open them once more
A duet
You keep playing for his sake
He looks down at you sobbing silently as he continues to play
Their flag waves silently in the wind
“I’m not sure how longer I can play…do you think you can do a solo?”
Tearfully he nods
Playing as you sing
Continuing even after the lyrics stop flowing from your mouth and you slump down into his side
A solo
He cries
Eventually the piano comes to a close
Despite there being no skeleton of you to put with the rest of the memorial Brook doesn’t question it
The sight of Your body disappearing into golden light was just a trick of the mind all those years ago to help with the grief of him failing you
He knows he went insane a long time ago
He’s spent years alone at sea mulling over their deaths, of yours and the promise to Laboon
His mind is long gone as he wanders the old tattered ship that used to be filled with song
Despite it all he tries to put up a mask of being happy
But he never sings
Never plays music
He can’t deal with another solo
Can’t deal with that last performance
Sometimes he thinks of the songs they made
The one the crew made about you that surprisingly got popular
Based off the odd tales of stars you talked about
An undying one
He wonders if it still plays
You remember they made a song about you
It’s long forgotten to the many new sailors of the sea
But on occasion you hear it from old souls. Those who had traveled the seas for many years and had retained the songs and myths now forgotten to the new
The sound of it always makes you smile, but it is tinged with sadness as you do so
Whenever it is sung or Binks Booze you promised yourself you’d always join in
A promise to them, that kind musical crew all those years ago that suffered a horrible death from a bad stroke of luck
You carry their memory along with Laboon
Whenever you end up at reverse mountain you always sing the songs they once did to ease the whales heart ache
It can only do so much but Laboon at least stops jutting against the mountain momentarily
Wanting to one day reunite with those jolly sailors
You wish you could one day do the same
But for now you carry their memories
Their songs that house the remnants of their souls
Sometimes you swear you see their rotting ship
But you always wave it off as missing them
Of delusions of your mind as you stare out into the darkness of the sea

“Your highness, we must go.”
The alarm was like something you had never heard before, almost like a high-pitched scream. It was blaring, outweighing the sounds of gunfire and screams from across the floor. Eyes piercing the back of the Jedi before you, leading you through the capital, his light saber clutched tightly in his opposing arm, the other held tightly onto your hand.
“No, no, we can’t leave him. We have to go back, we have to try—try to convince him—or something.”
The pale robes were rustled along his frame, held together by the single brass armor wrapped around his abdomen. His long hair brushing along his neck, head on a swivel as he quickly lead you throughout the abandoned halls of the building.
“Princess…”
“We must—”
“Your—”
“Obi-Wan, please.”
Screams and yells echoed across the corridors, corridors that were no longer untouched, you noticed. Rather just as red, just as bright as the alarm, bathed in the blood of the staff of the capital of fellow Bakurans. A void had seemed to fall upon you, numbness that led to silence and disengagement, as you walked quickly but carefully, almost glued to the older Jedi's back. Eyes sweeping along the nightmare that had become of your city.
“Y/N!” he yelled, both of his hands taking a firm hold upon your shoulders, “We cannot go back. There is not enough time. Not if we want to succeed in your survival. We must go now.”
This is the end.
Of not you then your sanity, no doubt. The hood felt heavy along your head, concealing the peripheral of your vision, of the horrors that were sure to surround you. As Obi-Wan halted at the edge of the hall, his arm barred out blocking you from advancing. With his saber raised, he peeked around the corner, the hidden corridor that not many people realized was even useable within the capital.
You merely held your breath, waiting, worrying how this would all end.
His eyes flickered around the room though you were hidden from it. Voices echoed, paired with footsteps in the opposite direction. As they faded, he peered back as if to check on you. Your face was expressionless, a fine line into nothing.
The static appeared again, quiter than it had earlier, from Obi-Wan’s belt. The voice was the same as it had been before. “Master! Master, come in!”
Obi-Wan pulled the com near his face and held the button near the side of it, “I’m here, my Padawan.”
“What’s your status, Master?”
“You shouldn’t worry, young apprentice we are near. Shouldn’t be more than another minute or so.”
“The gates are overcome with rebels, sir. I don’t know how much longer I can keep up.”
A worry line etched across the Jedis face at the sound of his young Padawan’s voice. You watched it carefully, almost quizzically. The only thing you could swear to remember from that day other than the red lights and the red walls.
“Should I head for the ship? Get it as close as I can?”
“No. I may need you nearby to help with the safe extraction of the princess.”
He protested, “But Master—”
“I believe in you, Anakin. Forge for the east side of the capital. You will find a row of doors there. That is where we will meet you.”
Placing the com back onto his belt, he turned down the static enough that it were mumble. He peeked once again arond the corner and as he did he spoke back at me, “The room is clear but we have to move quick, another raid could be advancing soon. Just another hallway and then we’ll be near the east entrance.”
His words felt as if they had gone in one ear and out the other. You could only stare forward, eye vacant of reality other than the last remaining gaze upon your father’s broken frame. He could have been dead at that very moment. Slain, sure to go down with the rest of the capital if the clones were to set fire to it as they had with most of the city.
Obi-Wan had sensed your hesitation as well as yoru voidness. “Your highness?”
“Yes?” your voice was meek, a whisper, startled as if he had pulled you from the depths of your mind.
“I need to ensure that you’re listening to everything I am saying.”
You nodded, it was all you could get out then as you could hear the echo of footsteps following down the same hallway you two were standing at the end of. Glancing over your shoulder, you waned against Obi-Wan’s back.
“Okay, now follow close.”
He extended his saber out from behind the wall, the blue hue emitting along the broken and slicked walls. Ensuring the hood was far across your head, you stepped out just behind Obi-Wan, head moving from side to side following any noises or unsteady silence that poked and prodded at your ears. The woosh of the saber was a mere mumble along the empty corridor of the capital. You were near the front of the building, that you could notice from the once marble pillars that now lay strewn, pulled down. Any and all artifacts and paintings were in ruins, and blood from innocent Bakurans smeared along the front steps.
The footsteps seemed to get louder, louder as you advanced across the corridor. You felt as if all the hairs on the back of your neck were wire, sticking up, while the energy seemed to shift around the room, it was almost as if you could feel it. “Obi—”
“Shh.”
It was then the trot had advanced rather quickly just as you were entering the last hallway. You were so close, so close to being rid of that place. So close and yet—
“We got eyes!” a voice yelled out from the other end of the room, “It’s the princess.”
As the voice yelled across the room, you felt Obi-Wan grab your arm and swing you around so you were now in front of him near the hallway. As the footsteps sounded like a sudden stampede behind you, gunshots followed, only to be deflected by the blue saber in Obi-Wan’s hands.
You looked back at him expectnantly not sure what to do as you peered past him to see the rebels followed closely by clones.
“Run!” Obi-Wan yelled, then, “Run, god damn it. I’ll be right behind you.”
You did as he asked. You did as your father had planned for you. You turned, and you took off down the hallway, the long pale hallway void of anything and everything. Just a few more turns, and you would be at the east side entrance. The sounds followed of the saber, of Obi-Wan’s struggling breaths, of the com, his voice yelling into it. You didn’t stop, though, not even as the cloak threatened to trip you or the hood had fallen off your head onto your back.
Not even as the voices followed.
“Not if we want to succeed in your survival. We must go now.”
His words echoed, staining your innocence as you both had left the king to die.
“You, my dearest daughter, are more like your mother than you ever believe. One day you will make a magnificent queen.”
“Anakin, be ready at the door,” Obi-Wan’s voice could be heard just down the hallway.
It was the last thing you heard as you sprinted, through the hallway and out of the large metal door, the red lights still shielding your eyes from the white overheads they once were. Pushing the door open with all of your might, you stepped out, immediately being met with clouds of dark smoke.
Your feet came to a stop on the outside of steps of the east entrance, the smoke billowing in your face enough to make you cough. Waving away the small gust in front of your face, you glared through the haze immediately feeling the horror amplify before your eyes. Red and orange flames accentuated the once blue and green planet. The city was doused, blinded by so much smoke you could only see the heat through it all. Piles of rubble doused the land as screams of men, women, and children were louder than they had been inside. The color drained from your face then as the only thing you could see through the haze was flashes of light from the guns, the blasters, and collapsed forms.
A kick of a rock nearby startled you and suddenly you realized just how exposed and vulnerable you were outside — no longer behind a Jedis back. The figure who supposedly kicked the rock from a few feet away, froze in the street, frame turning slightly at the sight of your form through the smoke. He wore a mask concealing his face.
The anger was gone, the frustration. Suddenly, all that remained was fear. As the stranger tilted his head curiously and took a step closer, you took one further down the steps. You took another, watching carefully how he advanced. As he took another, you broke out in a run down the remainder of the steps.
You didn’t get very far as at the base of the entrance, a figure popped out from the side wall, their arms wrapping around your torso quickly. Pulling you into them, you felt yourself squirm, panic suddenly washing across your frame as the hold tightened. Just as you felt like yelling out for Obi-Wan, a hand clasped over your mouth as the tall figure pulled you flush against their chest.
As they did, there seemed to be a sort of hesitation behind their touch. A lack of anger or immorality that you would have expected if it were a rebel. Instead, a certain feeling washed over you, one of unfamiliarity, almost as if the force itself was asking you to relax back into it. Like the energy around you was more than it had been moments ago upon that front step. Fear diminished then.
They leaned closer, their lips ghosting over the shell of your ear as you fought against the iron-like grip. They wouldn’t let go, wouldn’t wane in the slightest. Their palm was warm across your lips and smelled like sweat. Your breathing was short, uneven, moving far too quickly in fear. He could feel it radiating off of you. His grip loosened slightly but didn’t fall from your frame. Carefully, you glanced back, and relief somehow flooded your system at the sight of a Padawan braid in your peripheral vision.
The Padawan.
Obi-Wan’s Padawan.
Sighing against his frame, his nose tickled your temple as he peeked from around the large wall that was hiding the two of you. As he did this, it allowed you to take him in much more closely. He was young, no younger than you but young. You couldn’t help but trace him with your eyes, there was no other comfort you had at that moment. You followed the slope of his nose, of the defining line of his jaw, and the curve to his lips. His eyes were blue. The rare kind of blue that wasn’t too light but almost reflected oceans. A deep blue, that you somehow could see even through the billowing air. His hair was cut short, a dirty blonde along the top with a small ponytail in the back and, sure enough, behind his right ear, a Padawan braid.
His eyes flickered down to you, having caught you in your act of staring. A small quirk to his lips, you noted as those blue eyes of his flickered across your features quickly, taking in you as well. Or at least that’s what you had thought, not willing to think it into existence. You didn’t have much time to question the validity as the door burst open again, echoing with a slam.
Heavy breathing could be heard, but nothing else as the figure stood still upon the entrance. The Padawan lifted his finger to his lips, advising you to remain quiet, as his hand remained clasped across your mouth. You inhaled, closing your eyes tightly, hoping it all would be over soon, one way or another.
There was another huff, a second passed, and then, “Padawan!”
It was a hushed yell, and yet it was enough to douse your whole body in mere relief. Relief that Obi-Wan was alive. The young Jedi’s hand dropped from around your mouth, but his arm remained around your waist as he stepped out from your hiding spot, dragging you along with him once he had, in fact, confirmed in Master’s presence.
Obi-Wan hurried over, “Good, you have her.”
“Are you alright, Master?”
It was the first you had heard him speak other than through the intercom laced to his Master’s belt and you felt taken aback by both the tone of it as well as the composure he displayed.
The older Jedi exhaled a small smile appearing and then disappearing as another raid echoed a street or two over, “Yes, just trying to catch my breath.”
His eyes fell to you then, still wrapped up in his young apprentice’s hold, and he couldn’t help but examine you quickly, “You okay?”
Once again the only answer came out as a mere nod.
“Alright, we have to keep moving. How much further is the ship?”
The Padawan motioned over his shoulder, “Should be just on the northside of the city, near the ports.”
“Which is about two blocks alright,” Obi-Wan noted out loud, observing the area around him, noting what movements he could see past the flames. “I’ll watch from the back, alright, while you lead my young apprentice. We want her in between us at all times. Got it?”
“Yes Master.”
With that, the young Jedi released you, his hand reaching for his own saber that sat along his belt. He held it tightly within his grasp but didn’t dare ignite it. Not yet, not unless needed. There was no need to draw extra attention through the smog. Obi-Wan gripped his as well, glancing behind the three of you cautiously as his padawan began to advance from behind the wall. Just as he was about to enter out from the east entrance and into the open city, he stopped for a mere second. A moment of hesitation.
He looked back over at you, surveying the tired expression that now bathed your skin in fear. Reaching forward, he took a hold of the hood of your cloak and pulled it up and over your head. Then without a single word spoken, he took your cold hand in his and placed it along the back of his armor, where you could onto it. Your fingers curled around it loosely. He nodded at you in confirmation before turning back to the street. He edged out slowly and then began to pick up his pace, keeping the three of you close to buildings, able to watch behind you in case someone appeared out from the clouds of smoke.
You tried to block it all out, the way the horrendous smell of burning flesh lingered in your nose or how hot the ground at begun. You tried not to peer into the bushes of flowers that now lay abandoned in fits of ash. You tried to conceal it all away from you, once again peering at the back of the young Jedi’s back, hoping it would be enough to save what was left of your humanity.
To save you from the dead faces of those you once ruled over willingly.
To save you from the guilt of fleeing.
“Anakin, to your left!” Obi-Wan suddenly yelled out, gaining the attention of his young Padawan.
Out from the shadows came two clones paired with a rebel. A beacon blue appeared as you blinked and suddenly he was deflecting the string of beams that had appeared in your direction. Grunting with each collision, he slid forward swinging his saber around his back and within his palm against the lines of defense. You watched as with two quick strikes, the clones were left a few mere pieces short circuiting on the ground.
The rebel stepped out from the shadows, a scary smile lifting across his face doused in war paint as he noticed your shaking frame back behind the young padawan, glued to Obi-Wan’s side.
“Found you,” he laughed, his yellow-colored eyes peering past the haze at you.
“Don’t look at her,” the Padawan hissed, drawing the rebel’s evil gaze again. “Look at me.”
“Ah a young Jedi, protecting the queen-to-be, how sweet,” he laughed again and the shivers emitted across your back as you felt Obi-Wan take a hold of your arm, “Well your highness, I must say this will be an honor taking down your only means of escape. You’ll be at my disposable soon enough.”
Grabbing at his belt, a beam of red appeared, the saber emitting the evil-like color that became the new paint along the capital’s walls. The Padawan’s cold, hard stare refused to leave the rebel’s face. As the rebel tried to peer at you again, Obi-Wan’s Padawan lunged forward, his saber outstretched. The rebel met his reign of anger in a swift defense with his own saber. The sound of the two colliding echoed across the empty street.
Once and then again and again.
You watched as long as you could until Obi-Wan was advancing past the two, dragging you in tow across the block and near the ship. You kept trying to glance behind you to ensure the blue light still emitted, and sure enough, it was colliding with the red still, swinging back and forth.
Obi-Wan kept pulling you along with him, that is, until another group of rebels stopped his trail, fewer clones accompanied at their sides. They saw his deflated form followed by your pretty eyes and smirked at one another. The one in the front let out a loud whistle, and before you realized Obi-Wan’s saber was outstretched, appearing just as blue as his young Padawan’s.
Nerves pricking away at your insides, you turned back to peer through the smoke to find the blue light from the saber no longer there, the red too now gone from your line of sight. You felt your throat tighten up. Almost painful enough to throw up at the thought of someone else dying just for your survival. The sounds of Obi-Wan’s saber moving through the air were all you could focus on as you squinted into the line of sight of where his Padawan once was.
Your hands tightened as a figure began to appear. Moving, running through the smoke, far too quickly for you to identify the person. Your chest tightened, fear coating your trembling figure as it dashed through the smog, almost leaping. Landing a few feet away onto the middle of the road, a small relief appeared at the sight of the padawan. A smirk appeared across his lips, a furrowed look evident in his brow as he watched his Master take on the group of rebels. His saber ignited again, the hue of blue reflecting in his eyes as he moved to advance forward.
As he made the first swing, sending a rebel to the ground, Obi-Wan felt his presence. Though it was needed, weeding out much of the enemy, he could also sense your vulnerability behind them.
“You must get to the ship!” Obi-Wan yelled towards the Padawan.
“I can’t just leave you here to fight them all by yourself, Master.”
“I’ll be fine, I’ll be right behind you, but we can’t fight our way throught this. We have to get to the ship.”
“And we will, together.”
“Anakin!” Obi-Wan scolded, his back pressed against his young apprentice, as he surged his saber forward into a rebel’s abdomen. “Take the princess. Go, now.”
The young Jedi groaned in dismay but obeyed as he turned and looked back at you expectantly, “Come on!”
He took a harsh hold of your hand and yanked, breaking out into a sprint. Your feet began to pick up, now willing to lose him in the fire. His grip was tight, almost achingly tight, as he used his saber as a guide through the darkness, using it once in a while for any clones or rebels that passed in front of the two of you. Coughing loudly, the smoke was invading your lungs and your body as your feet slapped against the host concrete of the capital of Bakura. Your breathing was heavy, matching the young padawans as he weaved you through the city, the woosh of his saber the only thing you could focus on.
The screams of pain of those that ran into the path of the chosen one’s weapon weekend with each slice, and you hated how it all made you feel. So weak. So unlucky.
As you felt your hand becoming numb from his harsh grip, the sounds of the city eased, almost into a faded silence, and in its place, the gentle lap of water. The smoke seemed to clear every so slightly, and you found the docks, almost walking straight off of them with how fast the Padawan was leading the two of you. Breathing heavily, he looked around, remembering where exactly he had placed the ship. His hand dropped yours then.
“This way,” he said, darting to the right behind a long string of tall rocks that lined the body of water.
You went to follow, but before you knew it, there was a flash of light, and your feet were taken out from beneath you. You didn’t even have time to scream, not as your body fell back into the lagoon. Sinking in within the confines of your cloak, a tall figure pushes you down. The man’s hard grip was locked around your waist, holding so tightly that you withered in pain. The dark water seemed to be encapsulating pulling you further and further down into its depths.
You withered, trying to loosen the grip the rebel had around you, even more so as his hands moved up to take hold of your neck. Kicking, you felt the tightness around your throat come quickly. It was almost comforting because it meant it was almost over. All of it.
The man’s face was shielded in melting paint, the night sky aiding in his identity. Trying to hold your breath so carefully, you tried to escape as you could, but it appeared unsuccessful as the man only squeezed tighter. You felt as if there was no point then. No hope.
“Father, what was it like being a Jedi?” the soft, child-like voice appeared like a lost memory.
Your father’s followed closely, younger too, “It was like an adventure all the time, my sweet daughter. But it’s more than that, but an honor. There is much respect and to uphold as a Jedi.”
“Like the force?”
“Yes, the force,” he confirmed, chuckling, “Something I feel you will grow more closely to the older you get. You are my daughter after all.”
The edges of your vision began to blur, the last bubbles of air seemed to escape from your nose, the lingering voice of the king of Bakura following you. At the sound of another splash just a few feet away within the lagoon, your eyes peeled back open, struggling even further. Your head ached, feeling as if it were going to explode as your hand raised near the rebel. With it outstretched, you thought of your father, of Bakura, your mother, all of those lost and abandoned by its army, by you. The energies seemed to align, something falling into place, as you internally screamed. The man’s hands released your throat, and he was thrown away from you further into the lagoon.
Unable to look further, you swam to the surface, bursting out of the water with a final needful breath. Gasping, you peered up into the sky through the smoke to the stars. You could barely keep yourself up, body weakening. Breathing waning, you just continued to look up, feet kicking softly, aware you could get pulled back under.
There was a burst through the surface, and you flinched only to find the Padawan. Clothes wet along his frame, he swam closer, a quirk of worry across his face, “I got him. I got him.”
The closer he got, the more the water lapped into your face, and you struggled to stay afloat with the large cloak weighing you down. You groaned out as your legs felt heavy within the clothes. Reaching you, his arms scooped around your frame, either one where the rebels used to be.
“Keep your head back,” he instructed, as his arms began to pull at the cloak around your frame. “I have you.”
It loosened after two tugs slipped from your body with ease. His hands found your waist again as he began to swim you guys back towards the edge of the lagoon. Your breath had shallowed out, the edges of your eyes still blurry, a certain feeling of darkness creeping within your chest.
It was as his hand tightened along your side that you let out a groan of pain. Hot and stabbing sensations shot towards your abdomen. Surprised by the sound, the padawan looked down at you, a worried look appearing for a mere moment as he stepped up onto the shore and pulled you up behind him.
The pain worsened then, the oxygen hitting your body harshly. Your breathing quickened again, this time horrendously, as you peered up to the sky. Glancing down, your hand reached for where his once was. It stung at the contact of your palm, and as you pulled it back, you found it stained with red.
“Shit. Shit,” he swore, his own hands replacing yours over the wound, “Fuck."
Your eyes fluttered, the tiredness of it all too much, the ache of the pain, the loss consuming you. Obi-Wan’s Padawan leaned over you, his wet frame leaving droplets across your face as he tried to keep your eyes open. “Hey, look at me. Just look at me. Gotta keep those pretty little eyes open for me, your highness.”
You couldn’t even react to his words, couldn’t even react at him calling your eyes pretty. Nothing but the way the pain began to swallow you. His blue eyes. His sweet blue gaze locked with yours, his pursed lips moving but no sound reaching you. The only thing you could hear at all was the waning of your breath and the shallow beating of your heart.
The edges were becoming dark, the stars blurring into streaks of the sweetest colors, almost colliding with the sweet pigments of the Padawan’s skin and eyes.

The young Jedi stared down at the pale form of the Bakura’s princess, the curse words of an endless spiel falling from his parted lips. His hands were stained, stained with the darkest red, as your chest began to slow in the way it rose and fell. Eyes fluttered shut, a peace seemed to overtake your form, and he felt the way his chest tightened unwillingly.
After everything, you couldn’t die. You couldn’t. Not when him and Obi-Wan had gotten this far to save you, to make sure you lived. He wouldn’t allow it.
“Anakin!”
The yelling voice of his Master drew his unsteady gaze away from your still frame. An emergence of blue light appeared through the cloud of smoke. Other footsteps followed close behind. As Obi-Wan’s eyes found the frame of the young princess, he stopped momentarily, just for a mere second, to think about the possibilities of what could have happened.
Anakin stared up at him in disbelief, lost of what to do next.
“Pick her up!” his Master suddenly yelled. “Grab her now!”
With his own saber snapped back along his waist, Anakin quickly fell to his knees, his hands dropping from where they held the wound. Instead, they wrapped around your frame, one underneath your knees. He lifted with ease until you were settled closely into his frame. Obi-Wan continued to run, leading the young padawan through the remaining trail to the ship as the rebels wanted close behind.
“Master, I don’t know how this happened.”
“Now’s not the time for that, Anakin,” Obi-Wan replied back coldly just as they stumbled along the large grey-wielding spaceship. One the Republic had loaned for this mission alone. As he reached the front panel window, he input the code, and the door of the ship began to fall slowly.
The two Jedis peered over their shoulders with each passing second, losing their patience. As it finally opened enough to enter, the older Jedi pushed the younger one onboard with the princess weighing down in his arms. Following close behind, the doors shut behind them, wielding them to rush towards the front pit.
Anakin paused, waiting for further instruction as the princess’s blood began to pool along his armor and robes. Obi-Wan motioned towards the medical bay just down the hall, full of medical assisted robots. “Take her to the med-bay. The 2-1B droids will know what’s best for her.”
Nodding, the young padawan moved quickly down the corridors of the ship, the sounds of his boots echoing off the metal floor. His blue hues glanced down every once in a while at the face of the woman in his arms. Just as he passed you off onto the medical table and the droids swarmed your still-full frame, he felt the ship rise, jutting upward enough to almost push him to the ground. A sigh of relief fell past the young Jedi’s lips, the contentment to know they would be out of Bakura, finally able to breathe.
He sunk back near the wall of the med bay, unable to look away as the droids pulled at your tunic, trying desperately to get access to the wound. Knowing this was more than what he should see, he stepped out of the med-bay instead finding comfort on the floor of the hall outside of the room. He didn’t dare move, not even as the ship steadied out within the confines of space or when the movements from within the room slowed considerably, some of the robots even leaving the room. He couldn’t and wouldn’t, unable to stall the sudden worry that had befallen him.
Had he failed the mission?
Had he failed you, the princess?
Or rather Obi-Wan?
He couldn’t stand any of it — not when he had worked so hard, trained his life away, not as he held your frame in his arms, a woman far too beautiful for that kind of ending where a man like him could only hold you in your last moments.
Why hadn’t the force helped him? Saved you from this.
It was hours when Obi-Wan had emerged from the pilot pit of the ship. His footsteps were heavy along the long corridors, his robes draping near his ankles. A curious brow was lifted as he found his young padawan sitting outside of the medical bay, his head between his knees, palms digging into his legs. Anakin didn’t even look up as the steps stopped in front of him. He was trying to mediate, trying to will away the fear, the anger, everything forbidden for a Jedi. He was trying to do everything his dear mentor had taught him.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan called out, pulling the young Jedi from his trance. Slowly the blue gaze of the Skywalker peered up to find his master looking down at him expectantly.
Nodding for him to stand, his young apprentice followed and pulled himself to his feet. Entering the med-bay, Anakin felt to advert his eyes as Obi-Wan led him inside. He was afraid of what he would see, possibly your pale frame void of any pulse. He could sense his Master’s eyes on him, the expectations upon his shoulders at that moment, and though he didn’t wish, he lifted his head slowly.
There upon the table, you still laid, eyes sealed away behind the confines of your eyelids. White blankets pulled up near your chin over your tunic and torso. Hair strewn behind your head, there was a steady rise of your chest, a rhythmic approach to it that had the young Jedi relieved.
“She will be fine, my young Padawan. She is alive.”
Anakin nodded, needing to hear those words more than anything, as he refused to look away then. Refused to peer anywhere than you as he felt like he hadn’t had much time to truly take you in until then. Until the chaos and the horror had passed into nothing but this momentarily passing of peace.
He had forgotten what it was like to stare so shamelessly at a woman. Attachments were forbidden among Jedis, and thus, he had never taken much consideration of those within the Jedi temple or that he passed upon when he was in contact with the senate. It seemed even as he grew into a young man, he had pushed it all down, avoided it all, amongst the title that he was given of the chosen one. There was no room for weaknesses, for the possibility of failure. Not when this war relied on him.
He felt his Master’s intense eyes following his, but even then, Anakin couldn’t help it. Couldn’t help as his eyes traced along the delicacies of your face, the way your jaw curved, and the gentle slope of your nose. Nor the concise shape of your brows quirked almost in discomfort or the long lashes that brushed your cheeks with such ease. Your lips were pink, and holding his attention the most.
He spoke then, still not looking away, “I had forgotten. Forgotten what it was like to be around a woman. To be able to look at one.”
Obi-Wan hummed in interest as Anakin chuckled then, almost painfully.
“Not since my mother and then Padme. I had forgotten, forgotten just how beautiful they can be.”
Tumblr media
Coruscant. It stared back at you through the window. The mere window of chambers that now were sanctioned to be yours. It was different. The city. The planet. From Bakura, you meant. More metal, more dull, yet more full of life. It was political, far more political than you ever realized, in the form of the Jedi Council, the Republic, the Senate. They all held control at the center of the galaxy, and you could merely stand at that window, fingers tracing the bandage along your abdomen uncertain of everything that lay before you. What to do now in the city of the Jedis?
You had woken up upon that medical bed in a frenzy, gasping for answers, afraid of where exactly you had ended up. Obi-Wan had appeared, and you had felt the tears appear, fall freely at the mere relief, and relinquish the control you could have. Lying there exhausted, you grieved, for your father, for your planet. For it all as it lay abandoned and burned down to nothing but dust.
As your eyes traced the edges of the Senate building in the form of glass of bendable metal, sitting within the windowsill, you sighed at the sound of a soft knock upon the door. You hadn’t left the room since you had gotten there. After a few seconds without your answer, the door opened, and from outside Obi-Wans’s Padawan poked his head in. You felt his presence before he had opened the door or even knocked. It was almost as if you knew whenever he was hovering, waiting for what to do, waiting to see if you would talk.
You weren’t sure how but you just did.
Glancing over your shoulder, you sent a blank expression to him, and knowing it was all he would get, he stepped in without even so much of your permission. Closing the door to a mere crack behind him, you noted the stack of robes within his arms, folded nicely. They were bleak, looked long and comfortable at least, but completely unfamiliar.
His blue hues matched yours, a comforting quirk within his lips forming, “I—uh brought these for you.”
You matched his stare but without your lips so much as saying anything, you merely quirked a brow up in response. His stature deflated slightly, that quirk disappearign into nothing but a fine line as he bowed his head and placed the robes upon the bed. “Obi-Wan has gone to speak to the council. He will be back very soon with good news I’m sure.”
Not able to bear the look on his face, how sweet he appeared, you turned back to the window, to the city, to the only future you had. Even though you weren't looking at him, it was like you could feel the disappoint flooding his system. So much so, that he turned on his heels, his boots echoing along the floor as he reached for the door.
You felt your heart ache, your barrier fold in on itself just at the thought of him leaving with that look on his face and the dejection upon his frame. As he reached for the door-knob, you found yourself speaking far before you had even realized you had opened your mouth, “Wait.”
He paused then, hand dropping from where he had reached for the door. Instead, as he hesitantly turned back to face you, he found you already looking at him, a certain softness now where that coldness once was. There was a gentleness then he hadn’t seen before, even after everything you had been through.
With your hands laced upon your lap, you fiddled with the skin around your nails, uncertainty still plaguing your mind. Finding his intense gaze, you inhaled, “I wanted to— to thank you…”
Your voice trailed off and as it did he quickly realized why it had.
“Anakin,” he answered.
That softness deepened even further, he noted.
“Thank you, Anakin, for saving me.”
He nodded, that dejection resolving back into his chest, instead enjoying how skillfully his name fell from your lips. “The pleasure was all mine. I am glad you are recovered and doing well your highness.”
You bowed your head then, the title sounding so wrong, so devastating to you then. Enough so that you picked at your nails until one was bleeding. Anakin watched carefully, confused by the action alone as you sat there, lost in the depths of your thoughts.
“I wish you wouldn’t do that,” you finally expressed.
He rose a brow curiously, stepping closer into the room, silently begging you would look up at him again, “What?”
You smiled sadly, “Call me ‘your highness’ or ‘princess’. I’m far from that now.”
There was a pause on his end, a moment to take in how sad the princess of Bakura truly was. He knew he shouldn’t question it. Where anyone else would her words, he didn’t, as if understanding you completely then, having been someone himself who had left everything he knew behind. His mother still lay slaved in the very place he had despised completely.
So instead, he asked innocently, “What shall you have me call you then?”
Surprised by his ask, your eyes flickered up to meet his. There was a certain glint that filled his eyes, that smile of his there, peeking out. His expression had you completely transfixed, content in a way.
Smiling softly, your hands relaxed along your lap, “Y/N.”

hello!! this is my first request!! can u write azul saving reader from drowning and gets angry at them out of worry? not realizing that he confessed to them just now until it sinks in?
Hiii sorry this took so long! This concept is sooo good, hope I managed to do it justice aughhh
Because-!
Summary: Azul saves you after you fall into the Octavinelle pool. You're just hoping he doesn't expect repayment- Wait, why is he so upset?
Notes: There isn't much focus on the feeling of drowning, but there's still some. Anyways, hope you enjoy! Also, credit for the divider here!
Tumblr media
If a Darwin award existed, you were really one of the prime candidates to win it, it seemed.
You'd fallen into a pool. Actually, that was fairly normal. There was a very real risk of people falling into pools, that was why most public pools hired life-guards.
Octavinelle's pool, however, didn't abide by that policy, and so there was no one around as you'd fallen in. The panic was setting in at a rapid pace.
You couldn't breathe. Water was filling up your lungs, and you couldn't even cry out for help, and you couldn't breathe-
A splash. Someone was in the pool. Were they- here to save you?
They were approaching - closer, and closer. But you didn't get to see whether they saved you or not, because before they could even get near you, your vision went dark.
You woke up. That was good. Were you- in the afterlife or something? The silver-haired boy above you did seem angelically pretty, after all...
"You're awake."
You felt your face heat up. Nevermind. You were very much alive, and that guy you just called pretty was, in fact, Azul Ashengrotto, Octavinelle Housewarden, your crush, and maybe your friend. The jury was still out on that one. Azul never really admitted his friendships, but he gave you free stuff, so that was probably a good sign.
Would this be free, though? Even with Azul's "no free lunch" mentality, this seemed a bit too far.
"So," you started, voice hoarse. "Do you, uh, need something."
Azul looked at you for a second, expression all too void of emotion. Then, he spoke.
"What exactly were you thinking?" He demanded. "Approaching the pool in spite of your lack of ability to swim is the height of foolishness! If you truly wanted to come here, you should've simply asked me to accompany you!"
An uncharacteristically enraged Azul yelling at you was definitely- something to wake up to.
"I almost died- dude-"
"Precisely!" Azul said, eyes still burning with rage. "Were I not there, you wouldn't-"
He sighed.
"Don't do something so foolish again."
That was it? Azul Ashengrotto, not even expecting repayment? Weird.
"Listen," you said. "It's awesome that you care, but I can handle myself. I've learned my lesson."
"You quite nearly died," Azul said through grit teeth. "What if that happens once more, without me there? You'd die! And even if it weren't for my love for you, I simply cannot have-"
He cut himself off at the realization of what he'd just said. You took a second to process it too. Azul- liked you?
The universe had taken pity on you! Your crush liked you back!
"I- er, forgive me," he said, turning away his head in shame. "I suppose I got a tad carried away. Please, just allow me to accompany you the next time you come here."
"Why don't you also accompany me on a date sometime?" You said, before you could stop yourself. Azul looked at you in shock for a second, before clearing his throat.
"Are you being serious about this invitation?"
You nodded.
"Dead serious."
"Then," he said. "I'd love to accompany you."
And though you could sense he still had a lot more chastising to you, that you hadn't yet escaped scolding, nor the physical consequences of almost drowning, you couldn't help but feel oddly warm inside.
It seemed you'd found a silver lining here.

Uhmmmm, I don’t have too many ideas…But how do the yanderes in the phantom troupe like the chase/brattiness ? I brain rot thinking about being chased in the deep woods around where a Yandere keeps their darling
The idea of being caught, of the different reactions. Of being dragged back to the prison of a home or even being punished still in the swamp or dirt <3
Hnnnn just thinking! I’ll try to come up with some ideas later on to quench my thirst for your writing🙏
Yandere Phantom troupe members chasing darling through the woods
Warnings: torture, punishment, hitting, yandere, chasing, some Noncon, spanking, oral, abuse
Characters: Chrollo, Feitan, phinks, shalnark, uvogin, machi, Pakunoda, shizuku, Nobonuga. I only did the characters people like ;-;
Also sorry this took so damn long it got lost in the void
/|\^._.^/|\ /|\^._.^/|\ /|\^._.^/|\ /|\^._.^/|\ /|\^._.^/|\ /|\^._.^/|\
Chrollo
Chrollo was testing you, he wanted to know if you where well trained or if you needed some more disciplining
He makes sure you don’t hear the loud lock clip into place, he makes sure you hear him leave and drive away then he just waits
When he hears you leave he gives you a few minutes to see if you’ll change your mind, when you don’t he calmly yells your name
When he actually starts chasing you he’ll make himself as quiet as possible, you aren’t gonna know he was close until you get tackled into the dirt in the middle of the woods
He wouldn’t been gentle of you behaved and just walked back to him like you should’ve but not now, now your going home and getting punished
Feitan
Feitan wants you to run, he wants an excuse to drag you down to the basement and lock you in the chair just like he’s don’t to do many victims before.
He says he’ll be gone for a few days and that he’s leaving you unchained so you can eat and use the bathroom without trouble, but in reality he’s just waiting in the shed to see if you’ll take the bait
He locks the door but leaves the keys in his nightstand right where he made sure you saw him put them days earlier
When he sees you leave he grabs you and lets you know you have a head start, catching something right away isn’t fun after all
When he gets you just hope you didn’t excite him to much because if you do he’s gonna pin you down and fuck you before you can even get back to the house
Phinks
he didn’t have a lot of hope, he wanted to know if you would chose to stay with him if given the opportunity to leave
Obviously you wouldn’t, he kidnapped you, yelled at you for everything and abused you in the most intimate way possible just because he was bigger and stronger then you, he knew you couldn’t do anything
So when he left the door cracked open of course you took the opportunity, you did not expect to see him standing right outside it though, pressed up against the wall so you wouldn’t see him
He garbs you and slams you against the wall, tells you how the door is open and he’s giving you a thirty second head start before he catches and punishes you for trying to get away, he also lets you know your punishment is a broken leg so you better run like hell
Shalnark
Shalnark is out doing somthing and he sees you on the cameras, he’s sad that your trying to get away but not surprised
He’s not even worried, he has cameras all over the woods by his house and your prison
He finishes what he was doing and drives home at a normal speed, but when he gets there it all changes, he lets his presence be known and he yells that if you come out now the punishment will be fast and easy, maybe he’ll spank you once for every camera he seen you on, or maybe you can suck him off and call it a night
But no of course not, you had to be difficult, you had to keep running, now what he’s gonna do is run after you and beat you up when he finds you, all with that sweet little face of his, smiling down at you while he kicks you in the stomach
When he brings you home it’s gonna be hell to, just him using your tied up body as a sex slave, and he won’t out a antenna in you either, he wants you to remember it all
Uvogin
Uvogin is a beast but he’s not stupid, not stupid enough to leave the door to the house unlocked no he did that purpose, he just wants a good chase, one that he gets a reward at the end of, your the reward by the way
He waits in a tree until he sees you start running down the pathway he let you decorate with flowers, how ungrateful he’ll be sure to make you show him how grateful you are while he’s using you body
He’s makes sure you know he’s fallowing you, he’s loud and he’s talking about the stuff he’s gonna do to you when he gets you, talking about how he naught break you hips while he’s gripping them and using you like a fleshlight or how he’s not gonna gag you because he wants to hear you
He’s gonna fully tackle you to the ground when he’s close enough but he won’t do it right away, he does want a chase
He’s pinning you down and ripping you cloths off right there in the dirt under the moonlight
When he’s done he leaves, you better fallow him in your pitiful fucked out necked form if you Wanna clean up and get a bath when you get home even though as soon as you walk through the door your just getting fucked again and again no matter how much you scream no
Machi
Machi genuinely forgot to lock the door, she was focused on something else and just left it open
She was half way to her destination when she just got a hunch that something was off and she was right there you where just disappearing into the woods when she pulled in to the driveway
She’s mad at you for running and herself for giving you the chance to
She uses her nen threads to catch you, putting the all around to you can’t move without getting small painful cuts from invisible threads
When you finally stop she’s gonna calmly walk towards you and drag you back to the house, she’s not gonna punish you to bad because she did leave the door unlocked so she’ll do something simple like a spanking or having you sleep on the floor
Pakunoda
Pakunoda this sweet women was just trying to give you some freedom, she was letting you move around the house freely but only the window in your room was sealed shut
She gets home with some sushi and soft silk pyjamas for you and her but your nowhere to be found, she’s so sad the you left her after she was so nice
She understands she kidnapped you but she really thought you where getting used to her
She’s so gentle when bringing you back home, your emotions are already so wild at the moment she doesn’t wanna set a permanent image of herself as scary
She so calmly brings you to your room and talks to you about how she hates punishing you but she has no choice
She spanks you with a paddle and makes you count, she gives you thirty spanks before she holds you and gives your the pyjamas and sushi, she’s so sweet about it, telling you it could’ve been different if you just didn’t run away
Shizuku
She forgot to lock the door, poor girl is trying her hardest to manage having you locked in a room while continuously forgetting everything
She’s just drinking her morning tea when she sees you running into the forest outside, she’s so confused at first, like no that can’t be them, they are sleeping in their room
Your weren’t, she went to check and finds out it was you, she gets blinky to tear the forest apart so she can find you
She literally doesn’t care, she just puts you back in your room and gives you breakfast
She has no shits to give
Nobunaga
Nobunaga takes it the hardest he gets home and just freaks the fuck out
Screaming, ripping your house apart and then going outside and doing the same to the forest
Your poor little self will be running for dear life while he’s talking about you never getting anything ever again
Another one that completely jumps on you and takes the breath out of your lungs
He’s just holding you into the dirt by your neck saying how dangerous it is out here and how you guys have to go back to the house now
He’s gonna make you show him how sorry you are as soon as your in the door don’t worry

I wasn’t sure how long I was asleep but at some point, my eyes snapped open to the sound of glass crunch under someone’s shoe.
At first, I thought it may have been Joel or Ellie getting up for some reason, so I laid there quietly, waiting to hear the rustle of fabric on fabric as they laid back down. However, I then realized I could feel Joel asleep behind me. I carefully glanced over and saw Ellie asleep. Maybe I imagined it.
Wishful thinking. The next thing I knew, two people were in our room. Joel was out, but Ellie had woken up when she heard the door open. Once I saw that each of them had a gun, I put my hands up in surrender, I had no way of defending us.
“You, on your knees, hands up where I can see them.” The taller of the pair said to Ellie.
Once she was there, he looked at me.
“You. Get over here.” He said, gesturing to the spot beside Ellie with a knife.
I did as he said. Ellie and I were now both on the ground, side by side, her with a gun pointed at her and me with the knife. Then, the smaller of the two people, who I now realized was only a kid, was standing in front of Joel, who was still asleep.
“Wake him up.” Tallie said, nudging Ellie with the barrel of the gun.
“Joel! Joel!” Ellie yelled, waking him up.
The first thing he saw was Ellie and me. Then he turned and saw that he, too, had a weapon pointed at him.
“Eyes on me. Eyes on me.” The tall one commanded him.
Joel looked over to him.
“You don’t have to worry about what to say. We don’t wanna hurt you. We wanna help you.” The tall one said.
“Okay.” Was Joel’s only response.
“Okay, um… I don’t know what the next step is with something like this, but if I lower my gun… we didn’t hurt you, so you don’t hurt us… right?”
“That’s right.” Joel replied, void of any emotion.
“That’s a weird fucking tone, man.” The tall one was getting nervous, which was, in turn, making me nervous.
“That’s just the way he sounds.” Ellie said.
“It is, I promise. I’ve been with him for years, that’s just how he is. But he means it, I swear it. Lower your weapons before you do something you’ll regret.” I said.
“Seriously, he just has an asshole voice.” Ellie began again, “Joel, tell him he’s okay.”
“Everything is great.” Joel said in the same voice.
“Dude!” Ellie said.
“Fuck!” Tallie was getting more and more antsy and I had to do something soon.
“Look, dude, you’re dealing with a pregnant lady, a kid, and an older guy. We aren’t going to do shit. I promise. She is right; he just sounds like an asshole. But he won’t risk his daughter and pregnant wife like this. You can trust him.” I tried to reason.
“Okay…” The man began, “I’m going to trust you. But if either of you guys try anything… yeah?”
We understood what he meant without him having to say it.
“Can I sit up?” Joel asked.
“Yeah.” The older of the pair said. “Slow.” He corrected himself, “Get up slow.”
Joel kept his hands raised as the kid still had a gun pointed at him as he slowly sat up on the cushions he was lying on. “Who are you?” He finally asked.
“My name is Henry.” The taller guy said, “That’s my brother, Sam. I’m the most wanted man in Kansas City. Although right now… my guess is you’re running a close second.”
That definitely wasn’t reassuring for our current situation. He clearly knew that it was us who recked that truck. And he had tracked us here. I began to worry about who else may have been able to do the same.
“Alright,” I said, “I guess that means we’re working together then.” I made the decision for our group.
“You two hungry?” Joel asked, with the same tone as before.
We set up a small lantern on the floor, and all sat around it. I dug into my pack and pulled out a little bit of food for us all to split. It wasn’t much, especially when it was split 5 ways, but it was something.
“Where’d you get these?” Henry asked.
Before I could even think of a response, Ellie had already said, “Bill… He’s dead.”
Silence fell over the group at her blunt response.
“I noticed you signing to your brother earlier… does he only use sign language?” I asked, trying to change the course of the conversation.
“No, he’s gotten pretty good at reading lips. He also uses this.” Henry said, pointing a makeshift writing board around Sam’s neck.
Sam nodded and showed it off to me. It was actually a really smart setup.
“That’s very cool.” I said with a smile to the boy, causing him to smile back.
Joel suddenly took the rest of his portion of the food and offered it to Sam, who took it. He looked to his brother and signed something.
“He says thank you,” Henry relayed for us, “I’m guessing you don’t have much, so… this means a lot.”
“How old is he?” Ellie asked.
Henry translated it for his brother who replied back in sign.
“He’s eight.”
“Cool.” Ellie nodded, “I’m Ellie.”
I watched as Henry spelled her name out for his brother, who smiled in response before turning to me.
“I’m Yn.” I said, once again Henry signed it to his brother.
Then there was silence before Ellie smacked Joel’s leg clearly trying to give him the hint to introduce himself.
“I’m Joel. Look you ate, we didn’t kill each other, let’s call this a win-win and move on.” He said.
I cringed internally. I really thought he could help us out of here.
“Well, I am betting you came up here to get a view of the city and plan a way out.” Henry began, “And when the suns up, I’ll show you one.”
Ellie and I both looked to Joel to wait for his response.
“Fine. But you two sleep somewhere else.” Joel said, still clearly not trusting them.
Henry agreed, and once they were finished with their food, they left. Ellie layed back down and was falling asleep shortly after, but I wasn’t, and neither was Joel. I knew he would be paranoid about something happening.
“Want to push some furniture in front of the door?” I asked, laying on my mat beside him as he stared at the door.
“No. Get some rest. I’m going to stay up, keep watch.” He said.
I knew there was no point in arguing it, so I just scooted up right against him and closed my eyes. Secretly I was hoping that if I fell asleep cuddled up next to him it would eventually lull him to sleep as well.
I am not sure if my plan worked because, by the time I was waking up, he was already up off his makeshift bed, packing up our stuff. The sun was just beginning to rise as I stretched. I found my boots and began lacing them up. Eventually, Henery and Sam returned, and it was time to climb up even higher to get a good view of the city.
“Welcome to Kansas City.” Henry said as he opened the door to a room that had a large window.
“No FEDRA.” Joel commented.
He was right, though. There wasn’t a single sign of them anywhere.
“Not as of 10 days ago, no.” Henry confirmed.
“We always heard the KC FEDRA was-” Joel began but was cut off by Henery.
“Monsters? Savages? Yeah, you heard right. Raped, tortured, and murdered people for 20 years. And you know what happens when you do that to people? The moment they get a chance, they do it right back to you.” Henry said.
I glanced over my shoulder to make sure Ellie wasn’t here to hear any of it.
“But you’re not FEDRA.” I said to Henry as I looked back to the two men beside me.
“No, worse. I’m a collaborator.” He said.
I immediately saw Joel’s face turn as he shook his head, “No. I don’t work with rats.”
“Yeah, you do… Today, you do.” Henry said casually, “I live here, you don’t. That’s how I followed you here. I know this city. And that’s how I am going to help you and your family get out.”
“I don’t think we have much of a choice, Joel…” I said, trying to reason with him.
“Why would you want to help us?” Joel asked.
“I saw what you did the way you both killed those men. Even you, with your hurt wrist.” He said, nodding to me, “Now, I know where to go, but I don’t know how to make it through alive, not if it’s just me and Sam.”
“You seem capable enough. You’re armed.” Joel quipped.
“You’re wrong and wrong. Never killed anyone.” Henry said back, “And pointing an unloaded gun was the closest I’ve ever come to being violent… So that’s the deal. I show the way; you clear the way.”
Before I could say anything, all of our attention was grabbed by Ellie and Sam. They were sitting at the big table, on the opposite side of the room. Ellie was showing Sam a joke from her book causing them both to laugh. For a second, they seemed like two regular kids.
“Haven’t heard that in a long time.” Henry said with a small smile of his own.
Joel sighed as he looked away for a moment before turning back to the other man. “So how are we gettin’ out? And she’s not helping clear the way. She’s injured and pregnant. If I need the help, it’s going to be you.”
Henry nodded, and we began to discuss the plan. He took a piece of paper and drew a rectangle on it, each side having its own number written beside it as well. By now, Ellie had joined us.
“Highways,” Henry pointed to the numbers, “Downtown,” He motioned to the area inside the rectangle, “Us.” He pinpointed approximately where we were on his makeshift map, “This whole area belongs to Kathleen.”
“She’s in charge?” Ellie asked.
“Leader of the resistance,” Henry explained, “You can see the way we’re bounded by highways. They got people posted all around the inside perimeter. If we get close, we get caught. No question. So how do we get across?”
He tapped on the table to get Sam’s attention and signed to him the same question. Sam nodded and used to writing pad to respond. When he held it up, it said “TUNNELS.”
“Boom.” Henry said triumphantly.
“Kansas City has a subway?” Joel asked, confused.
“No, but they do have maintenance tunnels. There’s a bunch of buildings all put up by the same developers. And they share these tunnels, including… a bank building here,” He began drawing more on the paper, “So we enter the tunnels here… travel underground and pop up here. Westside North. Residential. There’s an embankment on the other side of the houses. We head down, pedestrian bridge over the river… free as a bird.” He threw down the pencil and clapped his hands once.
“You’re right. It’s a great plan.” Joel agreed, “So what do you need me for?”
“You notice anything strange about the city? I mean, other than the strange shit you’ve already seen?” Henry asked.
I knew where he was going with this. Ever since we left Boston, I had been on high alert of my surroundings. Especially once we rode into the city, and yet I had yet to see, or for that matter hear, a single infected person.
“There’s no Infected.” I said numbly. There was a not in my stomach as I knew where this was going.
“Oh, there’s infected. Just not on the surface. FEDRA drove them underground 15 years ago, and never let them come back up. It’s the only good thing those fascist motherfuckers ever did.”
“No. There has to be another way.” I said, shaking my head. Just the thought of going down there and facing one was making my stomach churn. I pulled out the chair beside me and sat down before running my hands over my face and then looking back at Henry.
“Look,” Henry began, “Everyone thinks that it’s full of Infected, including Kathleen, which means that we’re not gonna be running into any of her people.”
“Yeah, only dozens of infected.” I snapped. The more he talked, the more I hated the plan. I was on board earlier but now I was almost completely against it.
“No, because you see what I know is… it’s empty.”
“You’ve been down there?” I was thankful that Joel asked it so I wouldn’t bite his head off.
“No, but,” He began as I rolled my eyes with a scoff, “the FEDRA guy that I worked with told me that it’s clean, completely clean. They cleared it out. All of it.”
“When?” Ellie asked.
“Like three years ago.”
Joel scoffed at the same time I did.
“And that’s supposed to make me feel better?” I sassed.
“Okay, maybe there’s one or two, but you handle it.” Henry said.
“What if there’s more?” Joel asked.
“Or one of those blind ones that sees like a bat?” Ellie chimed in.
“Wait you… you ran into a Clicker?”
At the mention of that I stood back up abruptly. Our time in the museum flashed in my memories, which brought back memories of my first time in the museum.
“I’m going to go wait in the hallway.” I said to the group before turning and focussing on Joel, “Come let me know the plan once it’s decided.” I said before leaving.
I am not sure what came over me. But I felt overwhelmed by everything around me. After a few minutes, Joel came out and found me sitting against the wall, knees tucked to chin. He took a seat next to me.
“You okay?” He asked.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be a bitch or storm out… I’m just… I don’t know, Joel…” I said, quietly.
“Try to tell me what’s going on up there.” He nodded to my head.
“I just… it’s like all of a sudden, I was hit by this fear of everything that could go wrong or could have gone wrong in the past… Does that make sense?” I asked, almost embarrassed.
Joel nodded, “It’s called being a parent, welcome to it.” He teased slightly, trying to lighten my spirits, “I’ll be honest, part of it is because you’re pregnant, hormones make those feelings worse. But a good deal of it is just realizing that it’s not just you anymore that you’re worrying about.”
I nodded, “I should probably go apologize to him.” I said, moving to stand up as Joel did the same.
“Does it ever get easier?” I asked quietly once we were both standing.
“I’ll let you know if and when it does.” He said.
I smiled slightly at his response, he seemed to be warming up more to the pregnancy each day.
“Thank you, Joel.” I said sincerely. I knew he didn’t like to be soft and vulnerable, and for him to do so now was very touching to me.
He gave a small nod before leading us back into the room where the others were getting ready to leave.
“Alright, we’ll head to the bank and access the tunnels there. You ready?” Henry asked as I walked in.
I nodded, “Yeah, sorry for snapping at you… hormones, I guess.”
He shrugged it off, “No worries. Besides, I know we’ve all probably seen some shit in our lives, so I get it.”
“Alright, then, let's get to it.” Ellie said before turning to leave, the rest of us followed her out.
Once we got to the bottom of the building, Henry took the lead. He knew all the right alley ways to take and which buildings to cut through to get us to the bank building undetected. However, once we got there, I knew we wouldn’t stay undetected long. The sun was now up and the entire building was made of glass, making us easily spotted.
As if he had read my mind, Joel looked around and said, “We need to get outta sight.”
We looked to Henry on where to go, “Uh.. I, I-I think it’s this way.” He said, pointing in the opposite direction.
Well, that was reassuring. Regardless, we followed him that way. We weren’t running, but we definitely weren’t walking either. I was finding myself getting tired but I pushed on. Hopefully, Henry was right, and there aren’t going to be an Infested in the tunnels, and we would be able to stop for a minute.
He led us down more hallways until, eventually, he took us through a door and down a few stairs.
“This should be it. You ready?” He asked Joel.
Joel sighed slightly as he pulled his gun from his waistband, “Get your’s out too.” He told Ellie as he walked down the stairs to open the door first.
Although I wasn’t told to, and it would be difficult to shoot with my hand wrapped, I took mine out, too, just in case.
As Joel pushed the heavy door open it groaned as it scrapped against the ground. There was water dripping from the ceiling causing a musty smell in the tunnel. But the coast was clear so far.
“See, it’s empty! The plan is good.” Henry said fairly loudly.
“Shh.” Joel warned.
Just because we couldn’t see anything didn’t mean there was nothing here.
“The plan is good? We’ve been down here two seconds. We don’t know anything.” Joel said, shaking his head.
“Your husband’s kinda a pessimist,” Henry said.
I just shrugged. There was no point in telling him the truth now. He trusted us, and if he found out we had been lying since the beginning, that could break that.
“Just point your light forward…” Joel instructed the other man, “And be ready to run.” He glanced at me to make sure I was good to run in case we had to flee.
I gave a small nod, telling him that I would be fine. And with that, we began walking.
We walked in silence, aside from the eerie groaning of the old buildings above us. Eventually, the tunnel got narrower, and the ceiling got lower. This smaller section led to an area that had been painted with a mural that seemed to have been done by children. It was unsetting.
“Whoa.” Ellie said, looking at the art.
“We this isn’t creepy at all.” I muttered under my breath as we all glanced around at it.
Sam suddenly went up to open the door, causing my heart to skip a beat at the thought of him opening it and getting hurt by what could be on the otherside. Luckily though, Joel was ahead of him and stopped him. Henry then guided him to stand behind him with Ellie. On instinct I stepped in front of them and behind Henry. My gun was ready as Joel slowly opened the door.
It was much brighter in there. When we got in, and I had gotten a good look at it, I was honestly confused. It looked like a makeshift daycare or school. But what the hell was it doing down here, in the tunnels?
“What is this place?” I asked as we all continued to look around.
“I heard about places like this,” Joel began, “People went underground after Breakout Day. Built settlements.”
“What happened to them?” Ellie asked.
“Maybe they didn’t follow the rules, and they all got infected.” He said nodding to a board that had their “House Rules” on it.
The board read:
-Make sure doors are locked
-Ask for the password if you font know the visitor
-No shouting or noisy play
-Run to hiding spot when you hear the alarm
The last one sent chills down my spine. Ellie and Sam went over to one of the tables while the three adults looked around. There were still drawings up on the wall. One that stuck out in particular was one of two men with rifles that said “our protectors” below them. We eventually all split off, just observing our surroundings. I could hear Ellie talking to Sam, but I wasn’t retaining anything they were saying. It wasn’t until I heard Joel’s voice that I snapped out of my own thoughts.
“Hey, keep it down. We’re not out yet.” I glanced over to where Ellie and Sam were sitting.
“Ah, c’mon. Can we just rest here for a while?” Ellie asked, “There’s like actually shit to do here.”
“Wouldn’t be so bad to wait the light out a bit. Safer in shadows when we pop back out on the other side.” Henry added, looking at Joel.
Joel just nodded. I guess we were staying here for a bit. The three of us made our way over to the larger table, and all took a seat while Ellie and Sam found an old ball to kick around at the chalk line goal on the opposite wall. It was nice to see the kids being kids and playing, but that wasn’t enough to distract my racing thoughts. Joel and Henry were having their own conversation by now, but again, I couldn’t focus on it. It wasn’t until the end of their conversation that I actually heard anything Henry was saying.
“But you get it, though. You’re a father.” He said to Joel.
“Joel,” I said quietly, but enough to catch his attention, “Can we go talk privately?” I asked.
I could tell he was confused and caught off guard, “Yeah, sure.” he said regardless and stood up.
I didn’t say anything to Henry as I stood as well and followed Joel away from the table and the kids.
“If this is about what he did, I can’t blame him. Sam was sick. If it were me… I would’ve done the same.” Joel said once we were out of earshot.
“What?” I asked, confused.
“Were you not listening to him?” Joel asked, equally confused.
“No… not really. I’ve been kinda zoned out…” he nodded for me to go on, “I think I made a mistake… I should’ve taken you up on going to get an abortion pill when you offered back in Boston.” I said, biting my lip to keep the tears from falling.
“We can’t bring a baby into this fucked up excuse of a world. A place where people are forced to hide underground from murderous Infected. What if we get back to Boston and we have to live somewhere like this? This is no life for a kid, Joel… or what if they get bitten? Then what, Joel? We watch them turn into one of them. Burn their body after putting a bullet in their head?”
I was working myself up to the point of feeling sick, but I had to get it all out of my head.
“We’ve already lost so much, Joel… what happens if we lose them too? I should’ve just gotten the damn pill and taken care of it. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Joel.”
I could tell he was shocked by the words coming from my mouth. I had been so admittedly against it, but now it seemed like I was regretting it. After a second, though, he took me into his arms. I didn’t have the mental energy to even cry, so I just held onto him like he was my lifeline.
“I won’t let anything happen to you or our baby, okay? I promise. I’m glad you didn’t let me talk you into getting that pill. I am happy, okay? Scared shitless but happy. Everything will be okay. Against all odds, I’ll make sure everything will be okay.”
I nodded against his chest but made no attempts to let go just yet.
“Hey, I hate to interrupt, but I think we should get going soon.” Henry said cautiously as he approached us.
I finally, slowly, let go of Joel as he did the same. He nodded, and we walked over to collect our things once again. Soon, we were back to walking through the tunnels. At some point, Ellie fell into step beside me.
“You okay?” She asked.
“Yeah. m’fine.” I said with a sigh.
“What were you and Joel whispering about earlier?” She asked.
Glancing at her sideways, “Nothing.” The way I said it, made it clear that she shouldn’t pry and try to get me to talk about it.
She nodded, “So, do you think you’ll have a boy or a girl? One of each?”
“Don’t put that on me.” I said, shaking my head with a small laugh, “But honestly, I haven’t put much thought into it… I never really thought I’d have a kid, tried my best not to, but shit happens, I guess…” I said with a shrug.
“Well, you already have an amazing daughter, don’t you?” He teased, referring to the lie I had told about her, Joel, and I being a family.
“Eh, she’s alright, I guess.” I teased back, it was nice to just talk and not think about everything from earlier.
We continued having a quiet conversation until we got to the exit of the tunnel. Once again, guns were ready as Joel opened it.
“Do you know where we are?” Joel asked.
“Yep,” Henry said, “The other side.”
He was looking at a sign that said where the tunnel we just exited from would lead to. We walked out, and sure enough, there was an old residential area ahead of us. We still kept quiet, though, and weren’t using our lights just as a precaution. However, once we passed a few houses, Henry broke the silence as he spoke to Sam, but clearly wanted us to hear him.
“No. No one is here. No one’s going to be here because… my plan worked.” He said triumphantly.
“So much goddamn talkin’.” Joel said from where he was leading our small group.
“I’m just saying… I delivered. Make this right, go down the street, embankment behind the last house…and we’re out.” He said.
“Don’t get too cocky yet; we’re not across that river,” I warned.
“So what happens when we cross the river? Where ya gonna go?” Ellie asked Henry.
“Don’t know yet.” Henry said.
“Well, we’re going to Wyoming.” Ellie said, causing both Joel and I to look at her.
“What? It’s a huge state. It can fit two more people.” She defended.
“Yeah, maybe we just call this one a success and say our fond farewells.” Henry said.
“No, he’ll change his mind, trust me. This is how he goes, ‘No, Ellie. Never ever ever happening.’ And I am like I am going to ask you a million more times. And he’s like-” Ellie said.
And honestly, I couldn’t disagree. Joel did have a rough exterior but I could tell when he was getting warn down. And it was starting to happen here. Slowly, but surly. But before I could voice my agreement, a bullet flew past our group.

Single parent Bruce Wayne batkids being protective and (healthy) possessive over Bruce?? Batkids who have differing opinions on who Bruce should date?? Yes, yes, yes!!
I imagined that the kids are pretty used to Bruce going on dates as Brucie Wayne, to keep up the playboy persona. All of them have worried about varying degrees. Some took the time to do background checks on the person he was going out with and others decided to spy on them.
Hell, they would’ve been doing just that if Alfred hadn’t stopped them. Said something about how Bruce is an adult who can make his own decisions. They all knew the butler was lying through his teeth.
But they were all comforted by the fact that Bruce didn't have any feelings. That most likely, there would be no second dates with that person, they would fade into the faceless void that was the Gotham elite.
That assurance wrapped them up in a blanket when Bruce was out later than he was supposed to. When he came back happy and giggling rather than the usual indifference or just exhaustion.
“This is weird, right?” Duke questioned one day. They were all in the kitchen waiting for brownies that Jason was stress baking them.
“What is?” Jason asked-mumbled as he was setting the timer.
There was a definite tension in the air around them. For a full house of people, it was quiet. Just the sound of mindlessly scrolling on the phone and Jason’s baking filled it. The silence lingered either way.
“That we have this protectiveness of Bruce,” he explained. “Like he goes out for a ‘date’ and look at us. All nervous and fidgety. I mean, it’s been an hour and no arguments between Tim and Dami.”
No one had an answer for that. It was one of those that were complicated and simple all at once. Bruce was a person with feelings even though he tries to hide them, they are present. They exist. And he breaks, easy and often. And shouldn’t that be reason enough? Because he’s a person who has so much love to give but has been burned too many times.
But continues to love either way.
“Because he’s our dad and no one’s ever gonna be good enough for him, duh.” Jason answers, unfiltered and blunt. He was the most vocal in opposition to these dates in the first place, or Bruce going on dates in general.
“But it's all fake though? We all know that for him it might as well be another business meeting.”
Jason opened his mouth to respond when Bruce walked in, and as usual he was bombarded with a million questions. Duke’s question was forgotten by all of them.
“Where did you go?”
“What did you do?”
“Who was it?”
“How was it?”
“Guys, guys, calm down,” Bruce chuckles, “I just got into the house. Let me settle in first.” There was a faint redness of his cheeks, a glint in his eyes.
That only suggest trouble.
“And also, my date isn’t the type of person you guys are thinking of,” he starts off, walking towards the den. His kids follow him like little ducklings following their mother. “It was Harvey Dent “
“The fucking D.A?! Two Face??” Jason yells, alarmed. Harvey Dent wasn't the type to have fake dates with people.
“It was a real date,” Bruce admits to them. He gets comfortable on the couch and all of his kids surround him, preparing to latch on to every word. “Only Alfred knew about it because we know how you kids can get. I really like him, and I know that you have your suspicions, especially about him. So, please?”
“No!” Jason said, a frown on his face and his arms crossed. “I don’t like him, I don’t trust him, and he isn’t good enough.”
“Jay-“
“I agree with Todd, Father,” Damian cuts in. “My mother is a more suitable choice if we’re being honest.”
“Eh, if we are actually being honest, it’d be Superman.”
“Superman?!” Jason questions with disgust written all over his face. “Dickface, I know you have some hero worship going on with him, but that's the most basic of basic.”
“Plus, it’d be weird if I was dating my Dad’s boyfriend’s son,” Tim added.
“For once, Drake is correct. Neither Dent nor the alien is the correct choice for Father. Like I-”
“No, little brother,” Cass said.
“Yea, I agree with Cass here, Dames. I just don't see it working out with those two,” Duke agreed.
The argument continued well into the night and in true Wayne fashion, it in a debate style with well-thought powerpoints and some insults thrown in of course. No one had any agreement on who deserved their father.
“Um, do I get to make a decision on this?” Bruce asked in the middle of a laughing fit. It was nice to have the house full with people and laughter.
All of them looked at him with a blank stare and responded with a swift “No”.

i'm genuinely not even a terf or terf-adjacent but you're crazy for letting them live in your head rent-free like this. obviously you can block whoever you want for whatever reasons you want and i'm not going to try to convince you to unblock them/stop blocking them because it's Your Blog but have you considered that the people who follow you don't care about the identity of the blog owner and just want to see entertaining pictures of animals? i'm pretty sure nobody is following you with the intent of purposefully spiting you and the ask that was suggesting that posting hermaphrodite/genderless animals will ward off transphobes is batshit crazy thinking
Appreciate the concern, but not to worry: terfs get about as much of my attention as a bit of dogshit on my shoe. Mostly I just get annoyed having to go through my feed every day and block them, especially since it seems like there's been more than usual lately. And me making posts about it is honestly me just yelling into the void to blow off a little steam.
And I'm going to post about those kinds of animals regardless, because it's something I enjoy doing, and I think it does highlight an important feature of nature that often gets overlooked. If it pisses them off, that's just a bonus.

D&W fic part 3
Chapter 3: do I deserve him?
I practically jump away from Wade as Laura storms in.
“Hey Laura.” Wade says, practically unfazed.
Laura stares into my eyes, through the adamantium, and right into my soul. Damn it. Of course, the one time I fall for Wade, the one, Laura walks in.
“… Dad…? Is there something you wanted to let me know about?”
“I uh… well…” shit. It’s like words are getting stuck in my throat, they won’t come out.
Wade steps forward, “Laura. Your dad and I are in love! Like Romeo and Juliet except we can’t die no matter which bitch tries to tear us apart! Your young mind wouldn’t understand the love we have!” Wade says, so dramatically as he practically drapes on me. I would expect Laura to be mad. But instead of just leaving yelling and cursing in Spanish, she is grinning.
“Dad, I’m happy for you.”
Sorry, what? Didn’t catch that, what.
“You are?”
“Dad, when I said that Wade was in love with you, by the way Wade, was hardly discreet- - I meant that you should finally make a move. Trust me, I got Blade and Gambit to kiss in the void, of course I know love when I see it. You were too dumb to know you were in love with a guy you have a dog with, and share an apartment and a bed with? Dad… I expected more.”
Holdupholdupholdup. Laura knew I was in love with Wade, even when I was in denial of it… I’m so proud.
Wade leans over and plants a kiss on my forehead. “That means we can make out in front of people.”
“Absolutely not.” I say, but not before pecking his lips. He is still draped on me, I should probably be annoyed but he is so cute, staring at me with those big brown eyes and light pink blush.
We have a good time with Laura, she wants to watch Mama Mia, which I again havent seen, I’m a menace to society again. The singing’s a bit much, but not too terribly bad, just questioning whether what’s-her-face is just an idiot or desperate for a father. Whatever.
Wade approaches me after the movie, when Laura and Al are busy talking bad about us.
“Honey badger, we have been in this little eensie weensie little love whatever you call this for almost twenty four hours. Peanut, I have never said this before but let’s start off slow, huh? This is the first relationship where I really know the person I’m in love with. Peanut, even if you don’t see it, you are the most perfect, attractive, sugariest titted man I’ve ever met, and I want this to keep on going. So can we please go slow…?” Wade says, wrapping himself up in my arms.
“What? Of course Wade, you don’t have to worry about a thing.” I say, reassuringly.
Laura pulls me aside, I get a distinct feeling of de ja vu.
“Papa, have you said it?”
“Said what?”
“Said it!”
“Laura, you’re going have to be more specific.”
“Oh my-… ‘I love you!’ Have you said it to Wade?!” She’s whispering while yelling.
I should have probably considered it before I kissed him, but those big brown eyes just melted my brain. When Laura sees me hesitate she just tuts and massages her temples. She is really going too far as this whole matchmaking thing.
“Papa. I’m going to say this very short and sweet… get your ass up and tell that jabbering, knife obsessed, child you love him!” Laura basically scolds me. I thought I was the father figure.
“Jesus. Kid, we’re taking it slow. It hasn’t even been a day and we really want this to work out. I’ll say the words to him when I’m ready.” I try and say this as reassuring as possible. But still, a little feeling of anxiety tugs at me.
We rejoin Wade and Al, same topic as yesterday, but it’s getting heated. Wade moves to my side and holds my arms close. But instead of the little tug of anxiety disappearing, it only grows. What if I take it too far, he wants it to go slow, what if I get too needy and he gets too tired of me? What if he opens his eyes and sees that shit personality in hiding, and all I am is just an alcoholic, metal, untrustworthy mess?
“You alright peanut?”
“Mm?”
“You ok, you look a little green… is that even possible to get sick?”
I snap out of my anxious haze and look at wades soft, slightly concerned face. I may as well hide it, take away at least a little bit of the mess.
“Yeah bub, I’m good.” I say, but the small tug of anxiety is still there.
The next few days I hide it good. It doesn’t go anywhere, it catches me at the worse of times, resulting into a few bad excuses. I wake up early in the morning after that little demon in the back of my head begins to work together with the little tug. I must’ve woken up a little on edge because Wade is stirring a bit. Every movement I make seems to make a small shake of the bed. I maneuver myself around the squeaks and small movements of the bed and get up, walking to the bathroom. As I look it the mirror, my hands leaning over on the sides of the sink, I study my face. It looks wore down, and I can see the little twinge of anxiety in my own eyes. The voice and the twinge are still working together, making me a little shaky. I grab some jeans and pull them over my boxers, taking a walk outside. It’s crisp for me to wear just a white tank top over my torso, but the chill doesn’t bother me. I walk a bit, trying to clear my head. God, Wade is so gorgeous in the morning, and all I can be is a flaming hot mess of demon whispers and anxiety. He deserves better, he just doesn’t notice. He’s going to regret ever calling after me at that shawarma joint. I’ve been with so many, and I mean so many people over the years, some I’ve spent years with, others only a night, but they always end up dead, or not wanting me, or both. Jean is definitely a good example, she always looked at me with those sharp yet gentle eyes, like knives that promise not to poke. Although she broke that promise pretty fast. I was definitely more into Scott than Jean. But I did have a thing for her. I mean usually, I would find myself staring at Scott, and Jean didn’t like that, she wanted the attention. So anytime I was near her, her clothing would strip down to, or almost nothing, trying to grab my attention, she would flirt, but the moment that I would get myself deeper, she would retreat back to Scott. Scott liked me too, he would always make me have to chase him. Both of them only seemed into each other around others, while other times, it was like I was only a prize they could win alone. Scott was always nice, pecking me on the lips with morning breath in the morning, removing his glasses just enough so I only got a small tickle when I refused to get up. Although when Jean saw it, she tried harder. She didn’t want me, she just wanted Scott off of me. Once, in the mansion, while all of the others were off on missions or training, she approached me, stripped of everything. She would dance or just preform some sort of show for me. But when I gave in, she did too. That is, until morning, when she greeted me in the kitchen with a “hey buddy.” And when I confronted her, she would yell, she would use her powers to make Scott think the same way as her. “Logan! You can’t be grateful I’m pitying you?! You’re lucky I would even look at you while all you’re full of is metal, and it’s almost as cold as you!” It went on and on, until the night when they would simply repeat the same dirty show, like it was a competition who won my heart. Only to eventually break it. They kept yelling until I went silent, and they didn’t need to say it, because that little voice in my head was born. I used to think it was Jean who put it there, intentionally, and always talking, but when she passed, it was still there. I was never enough for Jean, or Scott.
I snap out of the moment when my phone is buzzing 10 times a second. I realize that I have been walking around for 3 hours. All of the texts are from Wade. I read a voicemail.
“Peanut, where tf are you?! You aren’t answering texts, or calls, and you aren’t in the apartment, or with Laura, or anywhere! Did you bail? Oh my g- - I’m so sorry peanut, I know I have been too leading. Did you go off and Wolverine or something? Did you have a nightmare? Are you in trouble? Did one of those TVA bitches come and nab you up? I bet they did, I’m on my…” I stop listening after that. Shit, Wade thinks it’s his fault. That damn voice wouldn’t leave me alone. It’s my fault, not his, damn it why can’t I just care for Wade, why didn’t I leave a note, or something! I can’t even make a note, how am I going to be a good boyfriend!?
I’m practically running home, calling Wade at the same time. “Bub! Hey, I’m so sorry, I went for a walk, lost track of time, I’m sorry. I’m on my way home.”
“Logan?! Al! He’s coming back- - yeah, I know! stop! Logan, thank god, I thought the TVA got to you or something. It’s not your fault.”
I hesitate, ending the call with a “yeah it is… it’s always my fault.” Honestly, I didn’t even know I said it until I got back. Wade pretty much jumps on me, wrapping his arms around me like he’s a koala holding on to a tree branch for dear life.
“Peanut! Sugartits! What did you mean?! It’s your fault?! No it’s not! What TF do you mean?!” And it really hits me what I said. I’m still thinking of Jean and Scott, their relationship with me. But that wasn’t really them, it was just anger and tension talking. But it didn’t, and still doesn’t feel good.
“Hey bub. Sorry, it didn’t mean anything. I think we got lost in communication, I meant I shouldn’t have run off, my bad.” I say with an artificially reassuring voice.
Quick save. But I guess I’m pretty tense and the twinge in my eyes is still pretty visible, because as Wade looks into my eyes, he only needs a moment to look at me before looks at me with a tense face.
“Logan… something’s bothering you. Please tell me what it is? Please? I’ll be your best friend?” The mention of my name, no nickname, no sexy voice, just my name didn’t sit well. I can’t ruin this relationship by complaining. Not this one. I can’t just whine, I’ll be fine. I’m being overdramatic. It was just a couple of bad relationships.
“Darlin’… I’m fine. Don’t worry about it. How about we go out for a breakfast with Mary, huh?” I say, knowing he won’t refuse. But instead, this last month has been full of surprises, he just pulls me close my the waist, his brown eyes looking down at me slightly, his voice serious.
“Please. Please tell me. Then we can go?” Wade says. He is not making this easy. What would Wade do if he knew about it all? This universes Jean and Scott are still alive, so would he blame them? Would it only add to the whining mess that is me?
“I’m fine. I promise.”
“Alright peanut. I’ll wait until you’re ready to tell me yourself. But just know that no matter how messed up, shitty, gruesome it is, I will always listen and love you.” Wade says, resting his chin on the top of my head.
Why does this feel so weird, so lovable, but so unfamiliar?
“Yeah bub. Of course.” I say, laying a kiss on his forehead. Of course, this is hot. The little hint of concern on his lips, the sensitive light in his eyes, his gentle hands on my hips.
“Can we have AppleBees for lunch?”
Authors note: OML I LOVE THEM. Finally getting into Logan’s backstory and stuff, what are they going to order from Applebees? IDK, post soon. This was probably the longest chapter so if you read through this TY

Hi again! I'd like to request my weekly dose of arsonist Neil/firefighter Andrew, if you feel up to it of course. I'm really curious to see what happens next.
I hope you have a nice week, sending good thoughts your way <3
WIP Wednesday (9/4) | Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU (Part 222)
"As someone who's watched millions of hours of Food Network, I would have to say the obvious choices are salt and pepper. And garlic. Things always need more garlic, I think," Neil answers, picturing Andrew looking through his kitchen to find those ingredients. Of course, he has no idea what Andrew's kitchen looks like so he's sort of just picturing him in a void with cupboards. But still, it's nice to imagine Andrew doing something as simple as making himself dinner.
How much?" Andrew asks a few seconds later.
"Dunno. Until it tastes less like nothing, I guess."
Andrew scoffs. "You're a big help."
"So I've been told." Neil smiles. It falls a second later, when he hears a clattering sound and a curse on Andrew's end of the line. He winces and waits a second for Andrew to say anything else. "Tell me you didn't just cut your finger off."
"It was on purpose actually." Andrew deadpans. Neil knows it’s a joke but he doesnt laugh.
“What happened?”
“Hm? Oh. The spoon dove off the counter, that's all."
"If it was that desperate to get away, your sauce must be worse than we thought.” Neil tells him, earning a grunt in response.
"Mm, no worries. I have another spoon," Andrew says. Then he mutters something that sounds like, 'Fuck you, suicidal bastard', under his breath as he tosses it into the sink. Neil snickers and takes a sip of his drink.
"Is it any better now?"
Silence. "What?"
"The sauce we're trying to revive. Is it better?"
"Oh," Andrew's quiet for another moment. Then he hums thoughtfully. "Yes. Much better. Thanks."
"Glad to be of service." Neil says as he picks at his stupid McDonald's combo meal— cheeseburger and fries this time. Big surprise. He sort of wishes he could toss this in the trash and invite himself to Andrew's place for garlicky noodles and good company. It's a deranged thought, Neil's fully aware of that. But he likes Italian food. And Andrew.
He'd really like for them to hang out in person. He was surprised the other day when he suggested it to Andrew and wasn't immediately told to fuck off. Andrew had been so angry the last time they tried to meet up and Neil couldn't handle it. Neil was worried he wouldn't be willing to try it again.
As pathetic as it may sound, he's been practicing here and there. It's amazing how much better food tastes when you eat it fresh instead of taking it back to your hotel room. Right now, Neil's sitting in McDonald's. He claimed a booth in the corner so he could watch both EXIT doors and also have eyes on his car, which is parked right outside. Andrew called with the news of his brother's visit just after Neil sat down with his food. His phone startled him so badly he nearly spilled his tray.
And it's sort of hard to eat with one hand holding his phone to his ear, but he's glad he answered. And he's glad he stayed. Even though there's a dozen people in the restaurant, he doesn't feel trapped. Doesn't feel like he's being watched. It helps, having someone to talk to like this. Makes him a bit less nervous knowing Andrew's there even if he isn't here. It also helps that this time, he's not at a fucking cafe where they just yell out the names of horrible, murderous fathers.
Speaking of terrible fathers... Neil takes his phone away from his ear to check the clock and it's later than he realized. He's going to miss TV time if he doesn't hurry up. Their show comes on in twelve fucking minutes. Neil finishes inhaling his food in record time and runs for the car, with Andrew's voice spilling out of his fist.

And I've Been Meaning To Tell You, I Think Your House Is Haunted
Billy Loomis x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
WARNING: ANGST, Emotionally and Physically Abusive Relationship with Father, Hurt to Comfort
PREFACE: After a fight with her dad, Reader runs back up to her room, when she hears someone at her window
A/N: Phone calls are Colored and in Bold!
Sidney and Billy aren't together and Billy and Stu are not a killers in this A/U!
Tumblr media
"YOU'RE A SHIT DAD! YOU DRIVE MOM AWAY BY CHEATING ON HER AND NOW, YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU SOLD MY CAR?! FOR WHAT?! TO BUY MORE FUCKING BOOZE?!", I scream,
Shoving him backwards. Just then, my father slaps me across me the face, causing a gasp to escape me as a result. I hold the stinging hand mark on my cheek, as the ringing began to pick up in my ears.
"Bitch to someone that fucking cares", he spits,
Sitting back down and picking up another bottle.
"Kill yourself", I say under my breath,
Before storming back up to my room and slamming the door behind me.
My life was a living nightmare that I couldn't escape from. Ever since my mom left, everything went to shit. All my father ever did was turn to alcohol to fill that void and he used me as the punching bag to distract himself from his own misery.
I wanted to go with her, but she was already gone before I even knew what happened. The only reason I found out was by reading the note she left on the kitchen counter when I woke up that morning.
To say I was devastated would be an understatement.
As I sat on the foot of my bed, struggling to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill and remembering the pain I felt on the day day she left, I hear something rustle on the other side my window.
"What the fuck?", I mutter to myself,
Getting back up. I reluctantly make my way to the window and open it to look outside.
At first, I don't see anything, but then I feel a hand grab at my wrist, making me scream at the top of my lungs, as I pulled away.
"Hey...it's just me", Billy reassures,
"Billy? What the-"
"I'm sorry. Don't hate me", he interrupts,
While climbing through to the inside of my room.
"What are you doing here?", I question,
"I heard you screaming from down the street", he answers,
Dusting himself off.
Billy and I met during sophomore year and got together a few months later. Him and his friends were the only people I actually enjoyed hanging out with. My dad never cared about me, so it was nice to have people that did. Whenever another fight would happen, they'd always insist on me staying the night at one of theirs.
"It's fine", I sigh in defeat,
Sitting back down on my bed.
"Doesn't sound like it", he joins me,
Before taking my hand into his.
"Look, I ain't gonna make you tell me anything you don't want to...but I'm worried about you, kid", he caresses the back of my hand,
As I nervously chew at my bottom lip.
"You know I'm always here to listen"
"It just sucks, Billy. He fucked up things up with my mom and now he's fucking things up for me", I explained,
He shakes his head, tucking a rouge strand of hair behind my ear. It was just then he notices the hand mark on my cheek.
"What the fuck?", he exclaims,
"Billy-"
"Did he fucking hit you?", he cuts off,
"Yes, but, it doesn't matter-"
"Like hell, it doesn't!", he yells,
Getting off the bed and rushing towards my door, when I make a desperate attempt to stop him by wrapping my arms around his waist.
"Billy, please don't!", I shriek,
Not wanting to make things were.
"That son of a bitch can't just hurt you and get away with it!"
"Billy", I sob,
Unable to hold back the tears from spilling any longer. His body softens and he looks back at me from underneath his arm.
"It'll only make things worse, please", I pleaded,
Seeing how distraught I was, he takes a deep breath and turns to hold me tight in his arms.
"Okay, fine"
"He'll hurt you too. Just...please don't"
I would've never been able to forgive myself if something happened to Billy.
"Hey, look at me", he says,
Pulling away and holding my warm face in his hands.
"I'm not letting you stay here. My old man's out of town for the week, so you can stay at mine"
"I couldn't impose-"
"It's not imposing, if I ask"
"I'd make me feel a lot better to know you were fine and what better way to make sure of that, then to have you stay with me?"
"I don't know, Billy"
On one hand, my dad couldn't give less of a shit where I slept, but on the other, I hated feeling like a charity case.
"Look, we could invite the gang over and watch some scary movies. I know you're a sucker for those", he suggests,
Making me laugh to myself.
"We could even stop by the store and get you your favorite snacks, obviously, it's my treat", he added,
Taking my hands into his. I couldn't help but sigh contently at his sweet he was. Every time we were together, it felt like nothing else mattered, except us in that moment.
"So?"
I take a moment, before finally agreeing.
"That does sound nice"
"Yes! Alright, pack your shit and meet me outside. My car's parked down the street, so I need to get it", he exclaims excitedly,
Pressing his lips go mine, as I giggle at his eagerness.
"I'll call everyone and let them know we're meeting at yours"
"Sounds like a plan. See you in a minute", he says,
Hurrying out the window. I pick up the landline and dial up Tatum and Sidney first. A few rings go by and they both answer at the same time.
Sid: Hello?
Tate: Hey!
Me: Hey, so, impromptu movie sesh at Billy's. Are you girls' down?
Tate: Hell yeah!
Sid: I'd love to, but my dad would freak if I asked to go to Billy's house
Tate: Then, don't tell him? Just say you're staying at mine
Sid: I don't know-
Tate: We're going
Sid: Tate!
Tate: Oh, come on, Sidney, I'll pick you up!
Me: I really want you guys there. I'm inviting the guys too and I'd rather not drown in all that testosterone
Tate: Exactly! We can't just leave our girl to fend for herself!
Me: Pretty please with the juiciest cherries on top?!
Sid: *Sighs* Alright. I'm packing a bag
Tatum: Awesome! I'll be there in 10
Me: Kk, see you there! Just gotta call up Bert and Ernie
I joke, before hanging up and putting in their numbers in. As I waited, I began stuffing my backpack with pajamas, toiletries, my books for tomorrow and a change of clothes.
The moment I was done pulling up the zipper, Stu finally answered the call.
Stu: Hellooo
Me: Hey, Stu! Got a minute?
Stu: Oh, I've got all the time in the world for you, gorgeous
Me: *Scoffs*
Just then, Randy joins the call.
Randy: Hello?
Stu: Ugh, why'd you add rat-boy?
Randy: If I'm rat-boy, what the hell does that make you?
Stu: Incredibly sexy in comparison?
Randy: You know what-
Me: Jesus, could we please cut the biggest-dick-contest short?
Randy: He started it!
Stu: Oh, grow a pair!
Me: GUYS!
I scold, finally causing them to fall silent.
Me: I was just about to invite you for a movie night at Billy's, but if you two fucknuts can't get along-
Stu and Randy: No!
Stu: I mean...fine. We'll behave, Ms.(Y/L/N)
He promises in a sarcastic tone, making me roll my eyes.
Me: Just get to Billy's
I eventually hang up the phone, pick up my stuff and climbed out the window. Just as he promised, there Billy was, waiting for me in his car. I hop in and he turns up the music.
"You ready?"
I smile and kissed him once more.
"Hell yeah"
