#i get lucky with swords

Things learned about my vampires and their sword-knowledge on the fun research hole I fell into because of pretty sword;

Ludovico trained in Italian swordsmanship(fencing/martial arts/there's a lot to it actually)--his mother thought this would get him out more and make him more appealing to women(we will forgive her well-meaning heart). He performed shows for socialites, often using a light, strictly for show Italian rapier. --thin blade that one. But he never needed to actually use what he learned, so it was more exercise and performance than genuine combat skills...

Lucient was taught swordsmanship by his Mistress, who was older than dirt, had fought in too many wars for her to remember and spent the better part her substantial undead life--before making him--with pirates (as her Master was one -- it is unknown where he is at this time, probably buried in a silver box somewhere). Lucient is very good with a sword. Any sword. He is also very fast and has the reflexes of someone constantly terrified for their life--because his Mistress made certain he was never relaxed.

The swords they have on board are backswords in design, but heavier than anything Ludovico's used--they're silver-plated, but made of iron (monsters no likey silver, magic no likey iron--the Lune Royale was beset by Hunters often).

Ludovico is going to need some proper combat experience with a sword because so far he's fumbled and gotten knocked overboard when he tried to help.

This means that, at some point, I get to write a scene where Lucient teaches him to actually sword fight.

When I tell you I am giddy.

i'm so happy that robbie is super excited about his new weapon and how it's actually perfect for him and he'll get to join the fights more and be able to keep up with orym on the front lines (and he can also easily keep him healed up conscious while on said frontlines too)

Another strange thing happened today. I'm not sure if I, uh, imagined it?

So like... I have villagers around now, is the thing, maybe I should start with that. You know how villagers are. I rescued them from the vault, and at first, besides the fact they let me carry them, I thought, uh. Well. Villagers, right? Probably - but they aren't... right. I don't know. I'll uh... get back to you all on that. There's just something...

Anyway, that means I have iron production, and food, and also enchantments, which is good, because I wasn't entirely certain I could get an enchanting table out, uh. Easily. They aren't uncommon, I guess? Like, uh, they're around gilded chests a lot. In fact they're a good way to spot... anyway, the enchantments mean that I have stuff that doesn't break as easily, which is good, because...

So like... uh, after. I didn't meant to attach - you know, last time. I'm feeling better since last time. My island is noisier now. More crowded. You know, what with the village. But - I mean, I didn't - I know I can attach images now, though, so I can... I have a bunch of strange gear. It is far stronger than any armor I have ever worn, and the shield is strange and slows down my enemies. It makes me feel safer in vaults, though.

I'm dying a lot less. That's not the strange - okay. I said I'd explain the strange thing, right?

I saw a cat.

I mean, uh. I guess that's not that weird, right? Especially since I panicked, went to go try to figure out how to get fish in the middle of the void, and by the time I got back, it was gone. But uh... I mean... I don't know, man. I keep on thinking about the cat. I keep on thinking maybe, if a cat showed up, uh, something... something else might? Not just a cat. But even just another cat.

I, uh - I mean, cats don't always, uh... they sense something off about me. I guess, haha, the way I sense something off about... but cats don't always like me, but that doesn't mean -

If I see a cat again I'm naming it Boots, I think. I might not see a cat again. I don't know. It left.

But honestly, between the coconut - uh, that'll make more sense with the picture, I don't - I mean it makes sense to call it a coconut but - you know. Between the coconut and seeing a cat for a moment, I feel more at-ease. More like I know what I'm doing. And it's odd, right? Because I lost the cat. I didn't get to keep it.

I saw it though.

And I mean, uh. Outside of villagers, falling squid, and the box of glow squid I made, most of the things I've seen for a while have been trying to kill me?

Not the cat though.

...you know, there are four types of altars in the vaults. I wonder which one I should thank for the cat, or which one I can ask to try to get me another one. It was cute, you know! I uh... I wouldn't mind...

paladins is nyext patch making changes to seris that im rlly excited fur but a little sad about seris currently has 1 talent thats probably one of the best in the game: Soul Catcher, that gives you 24% maximum health and damage after using her q to detonate 12 stacks, and you get percentage based healing off of those stacks too :3 agony and mortal reach are both kinda trash compared to that, even though both have uniqueish effects

But in the nyext patch, mortal reach is being replaced with Forsake, which fixes her biggest issue by making her 1.5s channel heal .5s (though higher cooldown), which is fucking massive in a game where antiheal exists and also lets her spam shots more, and agony is being replaced with a fcuking 20% damage vulnerability applied to people after you stun with four stack det fsdjknfjkds im sad abt this though,,, bcuz forsake is very clearly better fur healing than the other two meaning when im in 1x support scenarios i probably have to run it instead of 24% higher health and damage fur hiting 12 shots ;w;

I wish GI wasn't trying to push people (kinda specifically longer players) away from the game, like damn. I really hope new players are watching closely and not just deciding "there are haters" or "complainers." Some of the things, like the age old where's the end-of-game road map, have been actual game needs that haven't been addressed for years. Game needs, guys. Idk, if you still call some people haters/complainers, then I'm probably gonna call you a bootlicker lol

this is just out of curiosity at this point, but how many submissions did lucky seven get? it’s been doing really well, which i thought was surprising since the monado lost round one. i guess it’d be even more surprising if i was the only one to submit it lol

It got 2 submissions! I think part of the reason it's done so well is because it's got decently non-threatening opponents thus far. But it's about to go up against one of the Kirby swords, so...this may be the end for Lucky Seven. But maybe not!

I am quite shocked it's surpassed the Monado which got far more submissions. It's those goddamn soulsborne fans' fault (affectionate) (I love the soulsborne fans)
