Yuri Leclerc as a concept is sooo funny because here is the most beautiful woman you've ever seen, sike! He's a man actually. and you're like okay, okay, cool. he's still the most beautiful person ever, looks introverted yet elegant, so you'd expect him to have a demure-ish personality with delicate hobbies. speaks in noble tongue, voice as soft as the lilac in his hair maybe. probably into fashion as well.

and then he opens his mouth.

DEEP voice, crass, and a menace. were it not for the game's rating and setting, this guy would be cursing worse than a sailor. ANDDD the funniest thing is that he's 😂 an underground mafia boss. his first conversation with the player character is that he'd slit their throat for crossing his men. he's confident, sarcastic and smug, absolutely at odds with his soft appearance. NONE of his hobbies aside from the makeup are ""girly"" at all.

but that's not all! get this. he's... a momma's boy. intimidating fucker that he is, everything he does, the maiming the killing the swindeling, it's all to send money back to her. AND following that, he's something of a Robin Hood minus the heroic fanfare. as in, he's for the common folk. from orphans to the disabled, his care protects them all. beneath the scary job and personality, his compassion runs deep.

he can't stand not knowing things. he sings so prettily but scowls when he's made to do it in public. people call him a Savage Mockingbird and he does do nothing but mock and toy with his prey sometimes. he hates attention. A+ honors student but dropped out for doing crime. he's gotten into shit situations where people took advantage of him for his pretty looks.

he likes stargazing. he's named after a star. his real name at least. the one only his mom calls him.

isn't the dichotomy just the funniest. like don't all these aspects combined together make for the most delightfully jarring character ever. but it makes sense. the totality of his life circumstances made the person that he is now and it just... works.

Holly & Macy November 2024 BIG Progress Update!!

Hi, everyone! I've written up a fairly exhaustive progress update about the status of Holly & Macy and Everyone Else. You can read the whole thing (and view the included pictures) on my Patreon. The Patreon post is public, so you do not need to be a member of my Patreon to view it. It should be available for free to everyone. I'll very briefly summarize the main points below. The gist of it is:

Holly & Macy will officially resume weekly updates starting Wednesday January 29th 2025. From then on, the comic will update on Wednesdays at 11am PST. That’s 1pm CST, 2 hours later than the previous update time.

ALSO I am open for commissions right now! I’ve joined an artist collective raising funds to help Shimaa’s family in Gaza. If you donate to Shimaa’s gofundme, you can get some lovely art from me in exchange! do you ever have to like. check references to remember cat names. or do you just have a mental database of every cc cat ever

Great question! For like the first two years of running this blog it was basically just a mental database. Like genuinely I just knew them. There's a few cats that I've always had trouble telling apart (like Minx's cats or Martyn's cats) but I used to be able to ID most of them off a photo without you even telling me which CC owned them.

These days it's a bit more to keep track of, I update this blog less often, and I spend less time stalking CCs on social media for cat photos. It is much more difficult for me to remember all their names. So right now, if I forget a cat name, I normally just search this blog for the CC name. My tagging over the years has benefitted me because it allows me to double check things very easily!

can be pretty hyperactive, forgets things regularly (even important things, forgot he turned into a heartless in kh1), distractable, later on he seems to have some problems with emotional dysregulation. hes constantly called lazy by his friends but as soon as hes doing something he likes he has all the energy in the world, and also tends to dismiss his own intelligence despite actually being pretty smart, both of which are things that i think are decently common with undiagnosed adhd

At least twice a week since July I've had people thanking me for my neuroendocrine cancer education and telling me how often they use the resources I built them :') idk imposter syndrome is ever present and in healthcare you can even have thoughts of "Man, am I spending too much time educating/researching on poorly understood cancers?"

I'm still struggling to decide on format, but I'm currently compiling my research and resources to make a self-guided cancer education resource for my team. I really enjoy my job rn but I think focused cancer education would be nice to springboard into later in life once I finish learning about the inner guts of the ACA. I'm finally healthy enough to consider higher education, but the catch is my employer insurance is the only reason I can get my medical care...and leaving for school to be able to focus more officially on cancer education means I'd lose that medical care security :(

being incredibly brave and sexy as usual and saying that people should just make more shit up. make up more people in a house, make up a house, more dragons, more direwolves, make a whole new country, write all the lore about sothoros we don't have rn. it's very fun actually to take the world grrm gave us, use it as scaffolding and to build out with it. you'll end up doing neat cultural/historical research, making interesting ideas and adding richness to your own experience and that of others.

did you know korea had one of the earliest heated greenhouse systems ever? i didn't! until i was doing research for more in depth northern lore and then i learned that! it's neat! make ocs and npcs and don't be afraid to build an actual tangiable world for your characters to be a part of.

all i ask is you make it actually findable on your blog somehow bc i know some of yall like those super aesthetic tags but thE SEARCH FUNCTION DOESN'T NOT SO I'M BEGGING PLEASE MAKE THINGS ACTUALLY FINDABLE I'M BEGGING--
