on a completely different but slightly related note, my fav thing to do when playing magic is saying "i floop the pig" every time i tap mana. and if i can get my opponent to do it back to me i know they're chill. if they don't laugh or get huffy: bad player.

*raises hand* can I address an underrated Hugo-Kipo moment???

The scene where they’re playing a board game (kinda reminds me of that card game in Adventure Time where Finn floops the pig), Kipo beats Scarlemagne, puts on the Corn Dog Crown, Scarlemagne then pouts and looks upset, so Kipo, in a very sisterly manner, takes off the crown because she knows he’s bummed he lost, and also knows that the crown means a lot to him even if it is just a weird corn dog crown (he even made a gold version of it)... you even think for a hot second, he’ll get mad or flip the board or get jealous that Kipo gets everything he’s always wanted/never had (hinting at his deeper resentment of Lio and Song etc)...

But then in a very brotherly move, he kinda just smiles at her attempt to appease him, accepts the loss, and gently puts the crown back on Kipo’s head, and just enjoys the moment with his sister...

And it felt really nice. Further emphasising what we’ve learned about Scarlemagne and that it’s a lost and lonely Hugo in pain that is fuelling his anger and actions... and also Kipo is fantastic at winning people over not just because she can talk her way through almost any situation, but as she said herself, she really truly cares... and Hugo has clearly missed that feeling...

I taught my nephew how to play his first table top game during quarantine! We played Card Wars because he loves Adventure Time and thought it would be cool to play the game from the show. He was very excited to floop the pig.
