CW: mention of death and health issues (but it’s in a relatively positive light, for once!)
#cw death mention#cw health issues#Seven.txt#Seven’s Public Diary#i finally got all the results back and I’M GONNA LIVE BITCHES I’M GONNA BE FIIIIIIINE!!!#it’s not as bad as i feared!!! i do gotta take some meds for a bit but that should be it!#and like. continue taking better care of myself in general so these issues don’t get any worse and i don’t do any more damage#good fucking god i can finally relax#hoooooooly shit this has been so stressful#but on the bright side having such a health scare really kind-of forced me to reevaluate some things that i’d been avoiding and ignoring#even though i didn’t quite have to look death in the face i *did* have to sit with him and have a long talk about life#and about what’s truly important. and what’s not. and what i’ve done so far with the time i’ve been given. and what i haven’t done with it.#it’s an important thing that i think everyone has to do at least once if not several times. lest we take the gift of being alive for granted#because yeah life fucking sucks a lot of the time but at least for me… i don’t want it to be over yet. i never have and probably never will#not because i’m scared of what happens after but because i don’t want this life to be over yet#there’s still *so* many things i want to do and accomplish and experience before i’m done with this life#you know?#it’s so easy to trick ourselves into a false sense of security in being complacent because ‘oh i’ll get to it someday’#we always think we’ll do the things we want to do at some ideal time in the future that we just assume we will still be alive for#but no one is guaranteed anything. not even tomorrow. and at least for me it’s very important to remember that#as much as i want to live to be 100 years old that is not a given. it’s a hope and a goal but it’s not guaranteed whatsoever#i can’t live like i’ve got all the time in the world to get my shit together and go be the person i want to be and live the life i want to#live. i have to work my ass off every day or i’ll never get any of those things done in time#anyways. enough philosophizing at 9AM on a Monday. actually it’s 10AM now wow where does the time go#methinks i’ll change this blog’s header image back to the Not Dead Still Alive banner. because i think it’s awfully fitting & very on brand#don’t know why i ever changed it in the first place honestly#also if anyone reads this i am once again aggressively reminding u to get up and go pee if u need to and go drink a tall glass of water#even if u don’t feel like u need it go do it anyways please your body will thank you#also. today’s suggested listening is ‘If We Were Vampires’ by Jason Isbell and Live Like You Were Dying’ by Tim McGraw

Tumblr media
All you’ve ever done is mind your own business
Sure, you don’t have many friends but that doesn’t really bother you
You enjoy being independent. Your grades are high in the air, your part time job in your school is more than enough for you to live comfortably. (In this universe, inflation doesn’t exist)
You don’t really talk to anyone, not even family. Whole bunch of drama happened, and they were toxic so you ended up leaving them for university.
Everything seemed to be going as planned until a 6’4 menace walked into your life.
Gojo Satoru was your typical frat boy and the star of the university’s basketball team.
Some may even say the Golden Boy of your university. He was smart, athletic, had a good reputation among the professors and just with people in general. Not to mention, he was ridiculously handsome. Man literally had girls fighting over him.
You’ve seen him in the hallways but never actually interacted with him. He was in a few of your classes but luckily, you guys never were put together in a group.
Until today. Your prof is running a lab and gathered the smartest students he knows to do it for him. It’s kind of a two in one for him, the lab gets complete and you guys gain some experience.
Anyways, the group consists of you, Satoru and his friend Suguru and some other nerdy people
Now unlike Gojo, you already sorta knew Geto. He was really friendly and kind towards you so you were kind of excited to be working with him.
A few days into the lab and Gojo has a sudden fixation with you. Well he always had, but this lab is letting him work closely with you and it’s making his obsession worse.
You’re stupid if you think that Gojo Satoru hasn’t kept on eye out for you. Every time you walk by him in the halls, he gets a hard on just by catching a whiff of you. The cute skirts and the pastel closet you have drives him over the fucking edge.
It takes every cell in his body to resist the urge of grabbing ur wrist, pulling u into the janitors closet and fucking you absolutely dumb and stupid.
You look so cute and innocent, like a little bunny. And god, you are just an easy target to corrupt.
So, Gojo plans a party. A party on the following Saturday after your lab is complete because he knows that you’ll be free.
His plan is to get you to come, keep you company, get you a little hammered, then get a feel of your pussy. Simple plan.
It’s now up to Geto to get you to come to this party. And of course, for his best friend, he’s 100% on board with his plan.
All goes well in the lab and in your final days of completing the report, Geto asked the big question.
“Satoru and I are throwing a party tomorrow. If you’re free, we’d love for you to come. You can bring anyone you want.”
You blush. Party? Your first party? Your brain breaks out in celebration because as much as you liked to spend your weekend relaxing, you also have a severe case of fomo. (Fear of missing out)
Your eyes lit up, saying yes on the spot in excitement. The following day, you went back to your dorm and tore your closet apart, looking for a nice dress. You settled for a blue, body con, summer dress. (despite it not being a party dress but who gives af bc it’s summer)
The next night, you got all dolled up for the party. You made arrangements with Geto to pick you up. He made it on time, looking handsome in his all black fit with his hair in a bun.
You were excited… for nothing.
There was a party (a lit one), but you realized a little too late that your social skills were next to non existent. The whole time, you felt out of place. So you stood in the corner, drink in hand and watched others dance and interact with each other.
“You don’t look like you’re having fun.”
You turn your head only to be faced with a bright blue eyed man, the one and only Gojo Satoru.
“I guess partying is not my thing.”
“Oh come on, come with me.”
He grabbed your hand and headed towards the beer pong table
You and Gojo were a team and surprisingly you two worked perfectly together
The alcohol in your system made you flush, and you found yourself loosening up a bit and having a bit of fun.
Gojo’s plan seemingly was rolling out perfectly. You were a bit drunk, so he took you back to his room to “sober up” (but it was just an excuse to get u alone so he can fuck u but u don’t know that)
Now listen, Gojo got rizz alright. So imagine the look on his face when he went in to kiss you and you slapped him so hard, his face turned the other way.
“I’m not some whore you can use for tonight. I was genuinely having a good time with you, I don’t know why you had to make it sexual.”
You felt like crying. Is this what all guys think about?? Sex?
You get off the bed and head towards the door before you’re pulled back and thrown on the bed
“Satoru, stop! I want to go home.”
And just like how you did with him, he slapped you. Much, much harder.
He didn’t say anything, he just had this look in his eyes that could honestly kill. He took a hold of your wrist with one hand and let his other roam and touch your body.
He pulled your dress up, revealing the lacy, white, underwear you wore. You were a teensy bit wet, not because of him but maybe the alcohol? Or his best friend?
You don’t know, but Gojo thought the wet spot was because of him.
“Tch, saying you don’t wanna hook up but you’re fucking wet f’me.”
He pulled you closer to the head board, reaching out to his night stand and pulling out,,,, cuffs?
“Wait wait wait wait!” You say in a panic. You squirm to get your wrist free but once you feel the metal snake around your wrists and the click afterwards, you were doomed.
Your dress was ripped off by him. Your panty was somewhere on the ground and he easily took off your bra by doing the same thing he did with your dress. You laid nude under him, against your will.
As you can imagine, the night went terribly for you. You weren’t a virgin but it had been a while since you had sex (all the way back in high school) and really it was your first time with someone so experienced.
The next morning, you woke up with him cuddling you from behind while his lanky legs were intertwined with yours
You somehow managed to escape his grip and sneak out of the house before anyone could notice. You did have work, but decided to call in because of… well for obvious reasons.
On Monday, you dreaded to go to school. But with midterms coming around the corner, you couldn’t afford to miss a lecture. You dressed in baggy clothes and took a different route to class to avoid Satoru.
The day was going alright until you had to go to the library to pick out a few books to help you on an assignment.
While you were reaching on your tippy toes, someone behind you grabbed the book which made you quickly turn around. Your eyes meet his bright, blue eyes.
“You’re avoiding me now?”
The anger that overcame you in that moment was indescribable. You wanted to scream at him, hit him, threaten him or somehow bring him down, but you couldn’t.
“Did I fuck you mute? Answer me.”
You took a deep breath in and said, “leave me alone”
“Why? What, you think you’re too good for me? That I don’t have enough worth to fuck you? Is that what it is?”
He grabbed your cheeks with one hand and squished them together, pushing you back against the bookshelf in the process. He was holding you so hard, you couldn’t move.
“Listen to me, you slut. Don’t get our roles mixed here. You’re literally a piece of shit next to me. You hold no value in this world. If you died, no one would even think twice about it because no one gives a flying fuck about you. You think you’re soooo fucking special or something. You think you’re too good for everyone. Well you’re not. You’re just a broke whore, with no friends, no family, no hobby— nothing.”
He roughly let’s go of your face that you nearly fall to the floor. You tried your best but couldn’t help but cry at his words. Gojo swings off his backpack, grabs a note package and hands it to you.
“This assignment is due tomorrow at noon. I haven’t gotten the chance to start it because of basketball. So you’re going to do it for me cause you’re a worthless, bunny that has nothing else to do after school hours. And before you think about handing in something stupid, take a look at this.”
He pulls out his phone and in a matter of 10 seconds, you felt your heart drop to the pit of your stomach.
A video. Of you. Getting fucked by the Gojo Satoru. It’s evident that you’re crying but it’s easy to cover it up with an “excuse”. Your face held a horrified expression.
“P-please, delete that! Please, I’ll do it but please just- just delete the video please!”
“No, not until that assignment is handed in and I have to get 100% on it. If it isn’t handed in or I don’t receive 100%, this will be leaked to everyone in a matter of minutes. I’ll post this shit everywhere with your full name on it, got it?”
You felt like crying and throwing up at the same time. This felt worse than a nightmare. This felt worse than dying even. “Okay, I’ll try my best but I don’t know if I can get-”
“If you don’t get 100 on this assignment, I’m leaking it. I don’t give a shit. I already showed Suguru— sick bastard got off to it, and I’m sure many more will too if you don’t score 100.”
He picks up his backpack and leaves while you stood in distraught. The following night, after work, you immediately started on his assignment. You saw the assignment date and it was assigned 3 weeks ago. He wants you to do 3 weeks of work in 15 hours.
Somehow, you pulled through the night. Researching the best you can on the internet and trying to make it as best as you possibly could. You were able to send him the file at 11:30am so he could skim through it and hand it in.
You ended up leaving early for the day so you could go home and get some sleep. When you woke up the next morning, your nearly dead phone kept ringing over and over.
You pick it up and see hundreds of notifications on various social media’s and a few iMessages
Your thumb clicked on one of the iMessage notifications and there was Satoru’s name with the following message:
“I told you, only 100%”
Below the message was an image of his mark
A 98%
You swipe off of iMessage and open Instagram and boom
Hundreds of new follower requests, numerous dms and clicking of Gojo Satoru’s story, was the video of him blowing your back.
You checked Snapchat and there it was on his story too. You wanted to die. You wanted to dig a hole and bury yourself alive than live another day in this situation.
Later that day, you had received an email from the dean’s office regarding a “very sensitive and confidential” meeting that would be taking place tomorrow.
You had an idea of what it might be about but hope and prayed to god that it wasn’t what you were thinking.
But to your luck, this meeting was regarding your sex tape and how there is no longer a spot for you on the dean’s list or team.
Your whole world was crumbling apart. You spent your whole life to get to where you are today, only for him to ruin it in a matter of 12 hours.
You left the building slowly, still deeply thinking about what you could’ve done to prevent this. How stupid you are to go to that party and slap the Gojo Satoru.
“Why is this happening to me?”
All of a sudden, everything goes black.
You wake up in a hospital. Your head felt heavy and your arms was twitching. You look around and see… no one. The nurse catches a glimpse of your eyes and quickly walks in to check on you.
She explains that you were in an accident and that they tried to get in contact with an emergency contact but you hadn’t stated anyone. You stayed at the hospital overnight so they can monitor your brain activity and fortunately they were able to discharge you the next morning.
You took the rest of the week off from school and Gojo Satoru was losing his mind. He had spammed called you from various numbers but you weren’t answering your phone at all. He went from his usual mean insults to angry insults to pleading for a response back.
He doesn’t see you until Monday, with a bandage around your head and your arm in a cast which is also in a sling. He nearly runs to you, wanting nothing but to embrace you.
And he does. Holds onto you tightly, inhaling your shampoo until you knee his in the balls.
He immediately drops down and you completely lose your cool. “Don’t fucking touch me! I hate you! You ruined my life! You’re not allowed to touch me after you forced me to have sex with you and shared the video with the entire campus! You got what you wanted Satoru! You stole everything from me! Broke my entire world, burned my hard work down! Made me feel worthless! And now you want to act all concerned?! I hope you rot in hell!”
You ended up going home for the day, otherwise another headache would’ve set in. You took a quick lap before getting up and getting ready for work because those hospital bills weren’t going to pay themselves.
You had the closing shift and although working with one hand was quite the challenge, you desperately needed the money.
After closing up, the walk to your apartment is about 10 minutes away. Everything was going fine until a car quickly pulled up next to you, two men sprung out and shoved you into the car before you even had the chance to react.
One of them had his hand over your mouth while the other held your legs together.
You were blindfolded and tied in the car and after a while the car came to a stop and you were carried out.
You were thrown on the floor and when the blindfold was removed, you were met with his eyes again.
You immediately started crying. You were afraid and quite frankly exhausted of everything that’s happened over the last week.
“Please. I’m sorry. Just let me go. I’ll never ever bother you again. I’m sorry.”
You plead and beg but you hear his belt unbuckling. “Please! Please, I beg you Satoru! I’m sorry! I can’t- I can’t do it again please!”
You were left unheard. He threw you on the bed and tied your limbs to the bed. One of your arms was already in extreme pain and the other arm was starting to hurt too because of how tightly he tied you.
Every ounce of hope drained from your body when you felt his cock push into you. He pushed your head into the mattress and fucked you hard, like there was no tomorrow. Your tears soaked the mattress. Sweat, tears and snot covering your puffing face.
Satoru went on for hours. Abs glistening in sweat, his arm veins popping out because of how hard he was holding you. Not to mention his cock was coated with loads of cum.
You were passed out by the time he finished with you. Your body shaking on its on, cum dripping out your cunt and marks/bruises left all over your soft skin.
Hopefully his bunny learned her lesson.

SSR Idia Shroud - Room Relaxation Vignette
"Happy Birthday"
Tumblr media
[Mister S's Mystery Shop]
Idia: …Hrrm, I can't find the 15th Anniversary special Star Rogue diorama.
Idia: I told Sam-shi I'd look for it myself, so I wouldn't have to deal with him talking to me, but… There's way too much stuff here to look through!
Idia: And I came all this way 'cause I wasn't fast enough to get it online.
Idia: I can't go back empty-handed after telling Ortho that there's no way I wouldn't get my hands on one as a number one fanboy!
Idia: Oho? This shelf over here has a ton of specialty figures and other hobby stuff… EEHHHH!?
[products fall of shelf]
Idia: OUCH! OW OW OW!!
Jack: Woah!? That was close! Some of the falling goods almost scraped by my nose…
Idia: I-I-I didn't do anything! They just fell off on their own since they were thrown haphazardly onto the shelf!!
[Idia runs away]
Jack: Huh? No one said it was your fault or nothin'…
Jack: …What the, he's already gone! Idia-senpai… He looks slow and frail, but is he secretly actually pretty nimble?
Jack: Oh, man, and he just left everything on the ground. Ugh, I guess I'll have to…
Jack: …Hm? Isn't this box the one Ortho mentioned today…?
Tumblr media
[Ignihyde Dorm – Idia's Room]
Idia: …Haah. And in the end, I just ran away… Without a Star Rogue diorama…
Idia: It's all because they sold it first-come-first-serve, instead of pre-order... Not my fault what happened earlier…
Idia: If I went back now, that terrifying beast of a man from Savanaclaw might still be there. I'll try again tomorrow…
Idia: K. Now that I've decide that, time to get all the annoying dorm work stuff done!
Idia: Uhhh, so, the notices I have to give the other dorm students are… Oh, right, the equipment replacement schedule, and the AC inspection time.
Idia: Just in case, I'll add "Important", "Good News", "Response Required", and "Read Immediately" to the subject… K, sent.
Idia: It sure is hard work bein' a Housewarden. Thought it's not that bad since I implemented a chat app once I became Housewarden.
Idia: Efficiency above all! No face-to-face meetings! Conserving my own energy is the best way to do things!
Tumblr media
Idia: Finished all my Housewarden tasks, and even took a shower, as annoying as it is. I'm awesome. I'd give myself 100,000,000 points out of 100.
Idia: Nice, so… It's finally me time!
Tumblr media
[Ignihyde Dorm – Idia's Room]
Idia: Ah, I got a message from Ortho… He's spending the night in the first year rooms, huh.
Idia: Then, I guess I can just game all night by myself! Fheeheehee!
 [beep, beep!]
Idia: Hm…? What's with this reminder…? Man, right when I was getting into things.
「Survey on Quality of Life Improvements for the Student Body」
Idia: Ugh.. Right, that was a thing. You don't really see paper surveys anymore. Let me think, it should be around… Yep, here it is.
Idia: Uhhh, so what, they want to know what I'd like improved? I mean, kinda late to ask a third-year, isn't it? I can't really think of anything.
Idia: Sides, there were stuff I used to not like about the dorm, but I already made upgrades to all that stuff.
Idia: We soundproofed the walls and floors, installed commercial-grade AC, and the dorm-wide servers are of my own technical specs.
Idia: To live the perfect shut-in life, we can't not have walls that can't take loud shouting, or ACs that can't keep overclocked PCs cool, so~
Idia: …Ah, wait a mo'. I just thought of one issue I got. "There's not enough electrical outlets"!!
Idia: This kinda stuff needed specialized qualifications to do, so it's not like I coulda bought the parts and DIY it.
Idia: I'm using a power strip for now 'cause I have to, but I hate how the wiring just looks like spaghetti. Even a master wiring tech like myself can't stand a sight like that!
Idia: Oh, I just thought of one more thing. "I want to have the low-capacity breaker replaced"!
Idia: It's so weak that the breaker flips just 'cause I try to have 4 computers, the server, a 3D printer, microwave, and electric kettle all plugged in at once!
Idia: I mean, I'd set up a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system in case of emergencies, so my computers and server was fine, but...
Idia: Because of that, my plan to add an AC unit and a refrigerator in my room went out the window. That was a nightmare. Oh, and…
Tumblr media
Idia: …Dyehehe. I said I couldn't really think of any, but it's hilarious how the ideas keep flowin' out.
Idia: I'll attach some of the numbers we have on the cost of estimated damages by having Ignihyde students continue to use those useless breakers.
Idia: The Headmage is pretty much influenced by profits, so. If I explain how it's necessary to get better equipment, then he might listen to improvement suggestions.
Idia: Nice, mission clear. Time to watch some new anime episodes while grinding levels in my gams.
Tumblr media
Idia: See, nothing beats watching anime while mindlessly leveling… Ooh, I pulled a rare one!
Idia: I thought I'd be bored of this anime 3 episodes in, too, but it's actually starting to get interesting!
Idia: Well, now that the mood's getting good, I just gotta let loose! TIME FOR A SNACK PARTY!!
Idia: …Huh? I'm out of my favorite snack. Ugh, I completely forgot to re-order some more when I ate all of it last time.
Idia: If only the Mystery Shop had 24-hour delivery service… Maybe I should add that to the survey?
Idia: Nah, nevermind, I should just focus on the anime. NOTHING'S GONNA BRING ME DOWN!
Idia: Woah, the animation's clean…! They're all movin' so smoothly… Maybe the production team changed this week?
Idia: I'm getting pretty into the main theme song, too! Heehee, fheeheehee…!
Tumblr media
[Ignihyde Dorm – Idia's Room]
Idia: Urrghnn… Aaarghh…
[~♪]
Idia: Gah! Urgh, what's that noise…? What time is it right now…?
Idia: Urk! Everything's so bright, I can't see anything… How's it morning already…? Wait, before that, where'd that noise come from…!?
Tumblr media
Idia: Huh…? Ortho…? Weren't you spending the night with the other first years…? Oh wait, is this just a message…?
Idia: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"…? Oh, right, today's my birthday! I completely forgot, since there wasn't anything to look forward to…
Idia: I'll just write back… Thanks, Ortho.
Idia: Urp…! But now I feel a bit sick…! And my whole body hurts…!
Idia: I fell asleep running my games, and I'm just stiff all over. Can't I just go move to my bed and go back to sleep?
Idia: Nah, if I end up crashing and forget to login and get all the birthday login voice lines, I'll never recover. Gotta wash my face or something…
Tumblr media
Idia: Woah, I can see how crazy my bedhead is reflected in the monitor! I think this every time, but why does my hair end up this bad whenever I fall asleep at my desk?
Idia: Kinda looks punk, but that's totally a different vibe from my usual, lawl.
Idia: Meh, my hair can be whatever. Not like anyone looks at me, anyway.
Idia: It's a pain to go all the way to the washroom… I'll just use magic like I normally do. I'll chill the water, then.
[splash!]
Idia: WHEEEEW, THAT COLD WATER HITS JUST RIGHT!!
Idia: Normally, I'd just leave it here, but… My face feels so dry after pulling that all-nighter.
Idia: But I'm all good. I'm a functioning nerd, so I know how to fix it.
Idia: Ta-da~ I don't really get it, but here I go with the number one most popular all-in-one cream~
Idia: Putting on lotion and moisturizer one at a time is a waste of time. Just plap it on, and ta-da, done. Next is my clothes…
Idia: Nah, nevermind, I'm not gonna change. Now all I have to do is to jump into all my games and collect the birthday login voice lines. Fheeheehee.
Tumblr media
Idia: Perf, I've gotten them all for now. …Huh? There's another message from Ortho…
Idia: …HUH!? HE GOT THE 15TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL STAR ROGUE DIORAMA!? SERIOUSLY!?
Idia: "I was planning on picking it up in the Mystery Shop after classes, but if you can't wait, you can go pick it up whenever"…?
Idia: Well, I gotta go right now, then! That means I have to finish getting ready.
Idia: I don't really wanna go outside, but… I can't keep my poor Star Rogue waiting! Hyah!
[Idia magics hair and clothes]
Idia: K, bedhead fixed. And now, onwards, to the Mystery Shop!!
Tumblr media
[Main Street]
Idia: Fheeheehee…! Look at this craftsmanship…! It looks just like the scene I imagined as a kid!
Idia: Ortho… Did you look for this Star Rogue diorama because you knew I was sad I didn't get it?
Idia: Wheew~ The best thing in the world is a little brother who thinks the world of his older brother, and is really good at search functions~!
Jack: Hm? Is that… Idia-senpai? Good morning.
Idia: GYAAAAAA!? J-Jack-shi…? Why are we making contact two days in a row…?
Jack: I mean, it's not really anything, but… I heard from Ortho yesterday that today was your birthday, is all.
[Idia runs away]
Jack: Happy Birthday. So, uh, did you get what you were looking…
Jack: Huh, he's already gone! Ugh, I don't get him at all.

hiiiiiiiiiii :) i hope you like it, it's just a little story of a request from anon that i loved
REMEMBER: english is not my first language
fluff word count: 700
✦‎۟    ࣭   ⊹
Mason fell onto the bed next to you, panting but smiling. You closed your eyes, but you also had a slight smile on your lips. It was always like that, Mason always knew what to do to please you and think of you.
You lay on your stomach and felt Mason's fingers on your back, giving you goosebumps even after hours of sex. Mason's lips softly kissed your shoulder and back, loving and caring like he always was.
“You good?” he asked and you nodded without opening your eyes. His hand ran down your back, pulling you against him and Mason placed his face against your neck, leaving more kisses.
“I'm fine, you didn't give me any peace.”
“Sometimes not even hours of sex can ease the desire I have to fuck you.”
“Wow, that's so romantic” you spoke ironically and rolled your eyes, watching Mason laugh and lie back on the bed looking at the ceiling. You were silent for a few seconds just listening to the rain falling outside.
“I'm going to get something to clean you up, I came all over you.”
“I like that” he smiled and once again came to you, Mason hugged you from behind, you still lying on the mattress while he left kisses on your back and neck.
Mason quickly got out of bed and you watched him go to the bathroom, coming back with a pack of wet wipes. You felt Mason's hands cleaning you with the wet wipes, and you smiled because you knew Mason was careful even after being wild in bed.
He cleaned your back and thighs and finally everything he had smeared on your pussy. It was a cute and sexy scene, and Mason wasn't shy at all about taking care of you after sex, even though he was tired after the game, he always had time to take some time and be affectionate.
“Do you want to take a shower with me?” he asked and you nodded, getting out of bed and following Mason to the bathroom. You waited as he turned on the shower and turned on the hot water for you. You leaned against the sink as you waited, and Mason walked over to you once more. “Are you tired?”
“A bit tired, yeah, today was a stressful day.”
Mason ran his hand through your hair while holding you by the waist with his other hand, and you threw your arms around his neck, nuzzling your face into his warm, scented neck.
“C’mon, let's take a shower.”
Baths with Mason were always great, he always made sure to wash your hair, just to show he cares, or because he knows you usually have stressful days at work and he lets you relax. No other man had done that for you, and that was why you loved Mason more than yourself.
You closed your eyes with Mason's hands in your hair as he massaged, and you could fall asleep right there because you were so relaxed. Mason had this effect on you, he made you sleepy, and it's actually the feeling of feeling safe and knowing that Mason was there always taking care of you the same way you take care of him.
“Today's game was good” you mumbled as you laid down next to Mason once more, this time pulling the blankets up to cover yourself, knowing that you would spend a few hours watching until you fell asleep.
Mason pulled you to lie on his chest, and it was a thousand times more comfortable than a pillow.
“Yes, I was happy to be a starter, I think things are getting better” he spoke softly, but you could see the smile on his face. Even though he didn't score any goals, Mason had several chances to shoot.
“I'm happy for you, I knew everything would work out.”
Minutes later your eyes were already closing on their own from sleep, and you felt the moment Mason turned off the lights and the TV, and even felt when he left a kiss on your hair and murmured a soft "good night" before the whole room went silent.
The room was dark and warm, cozy, Mason's scent everywhere and...

Your pleasant dreams were rudely interrupted by the obnoxious blare of your alarm. Rubbing your tired eyes, you groggily turned over. Despite your boyfriend being on a regimented schedule, you could never relate. “God you need to teach me your ways, Simon,” you said into your pillow, almost as if he was in the room. But as you got out of bed, you faced the disappointment that he was still on deployment. As you dressed for the day and fastened your hair into a bun, you tried to go over your agenda. The morning was filled with vet clinic planning and clinical meetings. You cringed at the thought. It was honestly the worst part of your day. After lunch, you had two patients to follow up with after some shrapnel wounds gained on the field. Just two German Shepherds who were always well obedient for you. You knew they’d be getting some treats today. Finally, your day ended with a combat fitness test. You had perfected this over the years and knew the handlers and canines were up to the challenge.
The morning had gone by slowly. You sipped your coffee as you exchanged ideas with the supply department and pharmacy. They were preparing for a month-long deployment and along with human patients, the pharmacy took care of the working dogs. After three hours of revising, you finally had a full plan and med list. You could feel your phone buzz but as you saw the examination room with a returning patient file on the door, you decided to look at it later. You took your time to examine the dog's coat and checked on the progress of her stitches. “She’s healing perfectly, private,” you smiled at her handler as you gave the canine a treat. She nodded before leading the dog out of the room. Just as you were about to check your phone, you ran into your other patient for the day. Hopefully it isn't something important, you thought to yourself as you gave a similar examination. With the final few sentences, you finished your charting for the day. You sighed contently but soon groaned at the gentle sound of your watch beeping. You closed your office door before running off to your final assignment for the day.
“Alright we’re done with combat PT for the week,” you commanded as your regiment of soldiers and canines relaxed. After two hours of running through the course and showing the basics of taking down an enemy, you felt like they were satisfactory for the time. This was one of your better commands and the dogs had performed beautifully. They would be ready in a matter of weeks, right on schedule. “Be sure to give your companions a treat before you return them home,” you said and the group dispersed. You stretched your tired limbs as you saw them walk back to base. “Just another day in the Veterinary Corps,” you sighed. You loved your job but you realized after a few years that it was more of a balance between training the working animals and their handlers along with the clinical side. You were in the middle of a 15-week-long session to prepare the dogs for the field and the handlers were giving you a headache.
You shielded your eyes from the fluorescent light as you entered the base. “Long day, Captain?” one of your techs asked and you nodded. “Only eight more weeks until I get my evenings back,” you smiled as you walked over to the office space. “I got a question for you,” he continued, smiling at you. “A few of us are going off base and–“ Before he could finish, he stopped in the middle of his sentence. His gaze turned down the hallway as you heard heavy footsteps approach. “Lieutenant Riley,” he said officially and you turned to see Simon approaching. You smiled at him as you heard your tech quickly wish you a goodnight. “You’d think he saw a ghost,” you joked as he walked up to you. Despite his balaclava, his eyes crinkled with a smile. He shrugged and you avoided the urge to reach up and kiss his cheek. “You don’t answer your phone,” he observed and you remembered the text from earlier. “Sorry, long day,” you said sheepishly and he nodded as if you provided a satisfactory response.
“Didn’t realize you were back so soon,” you said and returned his smile. “Me either,” he replied, “found out this morning.” That must have been him this morning. You muttered an apology and he waved a hand passively. “Anyways, I got a surprise for you,” he said, a hint of cheer in his voice. You raised an eyebrow curiously. “You? You have a surprise for me?” you said in disbelief, “Must be a special day.” Simon shook his head at your antics, letting out a chuckle. He motioned for you to follow him and you walked in step. You made casual conversation about your current group in training and the good visits from some of your patients. “You still give them treats after?” he asked, shooting a glance at you. “Still do,” you said cheerfully “not much has changed in 3 months, Simon.” “You spoil them,” he joked back, rubbing a hand along his sore jaw. Must’ve been one hell of a mission, you thought. You continued chatting until you heard the familiar padding of footprints on the base floor.
“Is that who I think it is?” you said excitedly and soon your favorite partner came running towards you. The handler, also a close friend, tried to wrangle him but Riley slipped out of his grasp. In a flash of tan and black fur, Riley rubbed his head against your leg. “Riles! You’ve gotten so big,” you cooed as you brushed through his coat. Despite being named Riley out of his litter, you loved the almost human-like nickname. You petted him affectionately, bending down to greet your longtime friend. “Heel, Riley,” Ghost commanded and Riley sat down obediently. “Oh stop it, Lieutenant,” you responded, hitting Simon’s thigh and encouraging Riley to come back into your embrace. As you showered Riley in love and belly rubs, you heard Simon tell the handler that he would make sure you returned Riley at the end of the night. The private nodded and continued to his own quarters.
“You have enough puppy time?” Simon joked and you shot a look at him. “It’s never enough with Riles over here,” you said happily, continuing to pet him. “Riley did a great job on the field, Price was impressed,” he complimented and you couldn’t help but beam at his words. “Well Price should know I train the best of the best,” you remarked as you looked back down at the wagging dog, “and he is one of the best.” After another fifteen of you playing around and Simon getting in some pets of his own, it was time to bring Riley to the kennel. He looked tired but happy as you walked through the base. You held the unlatched leash in your hand as Riley obediently walked in between you and Simon. “Always such a good boy,” you hummed as both you and Simon brushed his fur.
When you reached the kennel, you quietly opened Riley’s cage to not wake the other animals. He turned around a few times, trying to find the most comfortable position. “If you come by tomorrow, Laswell is considering bringing Riley and Apollo on our next mission,” Simon offered, putting a hand on your shoulder as Riley laid down to rest. You waved to her before you checked all of the dogs were returned and happy. “I’d like that,” you smiled into his touch as you walked out, “Do you know how long you’ll be gone this time?” “Probably 6 weeks max if we get the job done,” he said gruffly, averting his eyes from you. Even after years of familiarity, Simon always hesitated to talk about the job. You nodded and closed the kennel for the evening. It was quiet as you walked back to your quarters.
“I won’t be leaving for another week,” he spoke up, voice echoing in the empty hallway. You turned to him with a smirk on your face. “Oh really?” you questioned, putting a hand on his cheek. His eyes flashed around but you laughed as it was late and the coast was most certainly clear. “I would enjoy some company, would you?” you flirted. Simon grunted but you were prepared to draw this out of him. “Hmm, what was that Lieutenant Riley?” you teased before he coughed out a sheepish “yes.” You teasingly beckoned him to follow you. He let out a dry laugh before following at your heels, just like a loyal companion.

forehead kisses
din djarin x reader
Tumblr media
summary: after din takes karga's offer of a cabin on nevarro, you find yourself joining the mandalorian and his adopted son on their bounty hunting adventures. or, five times you kiss the helmet and the one time you kiss him. wc: 3k warnings: some description of injuries, and my personal fave, yearning pining aching longing with heavy doses of fluff and smooching, and i revive a fan favorite character (the Razor Crest) note: banner by @janaispunk and fic written for her 1500 kisses celebration! i got the prompt forehead kisses and could not stop thinking of the potential. thank you so much for hosting this little challenge and congratulations jana!!!
Tumblr media
The cockpit is quiet when you climb up. Din sits in the pilot’s seat, the only acknowledgment he knows you’re here is a slight turn of his head. You come to stand at his shoulder and gaze out the viewport at the expanse of stars.
“Call go well?”
“New job.”
“That’s fast,” you say. “Didn’t even get him back the last one.”
“Hot priority. Quarry is supposedly in this system.” Din relaxes back into the chair, finally turns to you. “The kid?”
“Asleep,” you answer. “Think he wore himself out with the…” you wave your hand in the mimic of the child’s magic. “He really likes playing with the new droid.”
Din grunts. “At least someone does.”
You laugh. “Be nice! R5 is very well-behaved.”
You hear his sigh through the helmet before he asks, “You don’t mind the detour?”
“No, of course not.” You lean your hip on the side of the chair, and Din’s bracer brushes your leg.
Your time spent traveling around with the Mandalorian and his adopted son has actually been some of the most relaxing bounty hunting you’ve ever done. They’re both more polite than you expected and it feels…domestic, even if the stream of gunfire and criminal cargo never stopped.
Din Djarin has been a surprise as well. What started as professional camaraderie has developed into an unspoken tenderness that puts a smile on your face and—if he ever took off the helmet to show you—maybe on his too.
“I can prep your locker and the carbon freeze. How long to the designated point?” You push off the chair where he sits.
“About an hour.” He looks up at you, reaches to squeeze your hand. “Thank you.”
You bend forward to press a quick kiss to the crown of his helm. “Don’t worry about it.”
You’re still smiling when you make it down to the hull of the Crest.
.
Nevarro was not the sort of planet you would think of as relaxing, but between Karga’s development of a well-respected port city and Din keeping one of the most quaint cabins you’ve ever visited, it has been the only place you can relax.
You carry a tin plate from the Mandalorian’s kitchen to the next room. Through the window you watch the kid wobble over the rocks to chase after a desperate frog. By now, the little critters know when he’s coming. At the table, Din sits scrolling through a datapad.
“Dinner is served,” you announce.
His visor raises to meet your gaze when you enter. “I could have gotten it.”
“I know.” You incline your head to the pad. “I had a feeling Greef got to you already. More work? We only got back this morning.” You set dinner in front of him, come around his side to look at the file over his shoulder.
“Just a side project,” he says. He closes out of the screen before you can read. “It can wait.”
“Well, well,” you say, raising your hands. “Keep your secrets then.”
He leans back in his chair to face you. “It’s not a secret.” His voice is dry, but he knows you’re teasing. “I wanted to thank you. You…saved my life today.”
“Oh, that?” It’s true. He fell off a building. You actually let him, before you remembered he wasn’t wearing his jetpack. In some odd stroke of luck you’d managed to steal some poor sod’s skyspeeder, catch the free-falling Mandalorian, and total the quarry’s speederbike in one arc with no casualties. “Hm, yes, I was thinking you should be the one serving me dinner.”
“Maybe I will.”
The way he says it catches you off guard. Your heart skips a beat.
“Next time then.” You smile, marvel at the frantic beating in your chest. Then you bump his shoulder with your hip. This time you’re bold enough to place a finger under the edge of his helmet, tilt his head a little more. You place a kiss to where his forehead would be. “Don’t worry, I’ll let you eat in peace.” You nod at the food getting cold, and leave him to do just that.
.
The hull of the Razor Crest is hard at your back. You sit on the floor, shoulder to shoulder with the Mandalorian.
“You know as much as I love the Crest…maybe it’s time to consider—”
“No.”
You sigh. The ship has landed ‘safely’ you’re glad to say. Grogu sits in Din’s lap. R5 is…a little banged up, but fine. The rest of the Crest? Complete disarray. Anything not tied down has been flung around, and there is a gaping hole across from where the four of you sit.
“She is an old ship.”
“She has seen worse.”
Sadly, you believe it. You lean closer to him, let yourself feel the relief of having made it. He leans into you, and the kid lets out a small sound like he’s disappointed too.
“Think we can find a mechanic for this one?” You raise a hand to gesture at the torn metal and frayed wires that frame the picturesque view of open fields and rock spires beyond them. Of all the places to be attacked, here is pretty nice.
You let your head fall to the side. Din shifts with a sigh, and his temple rests against yours. “We’re going to need more than a mechanic.”
You snort. After the distress of the last hour, it feels nice to sit like this. To relax. If that’s what you can call it.
You want to curl up beside him, long to know what it would be like for him to hold you. Part of you thinks he would, if you asked. But still you say nothing, content with the small doses of affection you give each other now. Closeness that is expected - known - but goes unspoken. You turn your head, and your lips brush over his helmet, just above his visor. His head stays tilted down, allowing it. He sighs when you move away.
“We should get to work.”
“Yeah.”
A tether pulls as you both stand to get things in order. Connection. Longing. You wonder if he feels it too. You brush a hand over your lips, savor the feeling of cool metal.
.
You don’t like it. Not one bit. But you understand. With every day that passed, you’ve been feeling worse—caught some bug on one of the trips you’ve made in the last week. It started with a cough, and now you can barely speak. You’re tired, and drained, but still you managed to stay on the ship with the Mandalorian. He wasn’t about to let R5 stay alone with the kid, and to be honest, you think he’s gotten used to having the backup. You have to be content he’s letting you do as much as he is.
“If they give you any trouble at the dock just send them this.” He presses something on his vambrace, and you check over codes on your datapad. You nod confirmation. “Keep the engine running. I shouldn’t be long, and if they decide they want a look at our cargo…”
You both turn to face the short line of frozen criminals.
“You’ll have to make a quick getaway.”
The problem you’ve found with working on newly established New Republic territories is the freedoms of the Outer Rim are being slowly taped over in red. Even bounty hunting hasn’t escaped the notice of the bureaucracy. Din hates it. You hate it even more. And now here he is going out alone to find a rich slimeball that likely paid his way into immunity with the New Republic officers here. Stuck sitting in the pilot’s chair was hardly helping. You nod anyway, watching as he straps on more weapons and gear discreetly into his armor. A knife slips into a hidden sheath under his chest plate. You try to be comforted that at least if he doesn’t have you, he’s well equipped.
You clear your throat, hopefully in a way that he understands your upset. You’ve mostly communicated with him about this job in a series of frowns.
He sighs. “I know.”
You huff.
“I know,” he says again.
Your shoulders slump, and you don’t know how else to tell him right now, so you tuck your pad under your arm and reach for him.
He’s slow to it, but he folds his arms around you to return your hug, awkwardly patting your back before holding you closer. You pull away after a moment, and take his helmet between the palms of your hands. You search his visor, wondering if he really does know.
His hands come under your arms to hold your elbows, thumbs rubbing in a comforting manner. You pull him toward you, rest your forehead against his.
Come back safe, you think. Come back to me.
His hands squeeze tighter. He must know. Surely, he must know.
You pull from him, but keep hold of his head and tilt. You press a kiss to where you rested your head just a moment before, willing his safety. Then you let go before you do anything else. Perhaps it’s good you lost your voice. His hands slip from you when you take a step back, though one hovers between your bodies like he’s not sure. You watch it drift down slowly.
Behind you, Grogu coos a goodbye, but you don’t take your eyes from Din. He looks down for a moment then back to you. Another beat, then he nods. You return it. He walks down the ramp of the hull, and you watch him until it closes, sealing you and the kid inside.
You press your fingers to your mouth. Come back safe.
.
Your hands shake as you pull away fabric and leather. The Mandalorian’s chest plate, marked with carbon scoring, rests on the ground beside him.
“Should have been here,” you whisper. Your voice isn’t better, but you try. You press a bandage to the wound, ignoring the way his blood sticks to your fingers.
“The kid…”
“Safe. On ship.”
Din’s hand clasps around your wrist. “They’ll find—”
You shake your head. You didn’t like it either. Your only comfort was that R5 could pilot the Razor Crest if absolutely necessary. The ship was locked and sealed tight to protect both of them while you found Din.
“I moved ship,” you croak. “They safe for now.”
You can’t see how far the wound reaches—his skin is covered in blood, soaking his clothing over his shoulder and neck. Does it go under his helmet too? Din takes your hand, halting your frantic search. You stop, eyes darting over his visor as though you’ll find answers.
“We have to go.” His voice is strained, but he is right. You can’t stay. Most of your medical supplies are stored on the Crest.
“Din…” his name is barely more than a breath through your lips. You want to say so much. Look at him, barely lucid himself, slumped and abandoned for dead when you arrived. You fear for him, even now that you are here.
“I’m…okay.” He takes his hand from yours and moves to cup your face instead. You can smell the old leather of his gloves, feel the rough patches on your cheek. But his hold is firm, grounding you back to him. “I’m okay. I just need you to help me there.” He breathes heavy, and so do you, but you can see his resolve once more. He’ll make it.
Tears spring at your eyes, and your bloodied hands grasp the sides of his helmet, mirroring how he holds you. You lean in, press a kiss to his forehead. And then another. And another. Then one more for good measure.
He has to know what he does to you. The bandage is pressed to his wound and tucked under the straps of his armor. You’ll have time to properly heal him later. He does his best to help replace his chest plate.
You take his good arm around your shoulders, wrap your arm at his waist. With your help, he stands. The coast is clear for now, and the two of you creep down the streets in the direction you hid the Crest. He follows you without question, each of you pulling the other closer at every turn—so close your shadows become one.
The image follows you all the way back to the ship—haunting you the same as the memory of cold metal against your lips.
.
The lava flats are quiet this evening. The sun sets behind a smattering of clouds, painting the sky an orange-pink you aren’t accustomed to seeing. The view from the Mandalorian’s front porch is unobstructed.
So here you sit, here you stare. You’re not sure when it happened, but it feels like home.
A steady beat of footsteps interrupts the quiet, and Din walks out of the doorway. He pauses there before crossing your view to join you on the bench. His movements are slow, and he’s not wearing his full armor where he’s covered in bandages. You sit up straight, gaze tearing from the sky to follow him. Your hand settles on his arm as he seats himself beside you.
“How are you feeling?” he asks.
“Better. Much better,” you say, eying where a bandage disappears under his helmet. “What about you? Doc still expects a full recovery?”
Din nods. “The bandages are just to protect his work. I should be able to take it off tomorrow.”
Upon your return to Nevarro, you had rushed Din to the nearest med center to fix the first aid you had attempted. Whatever device was used to cause the explosion he survived was nothing you had seen before. After a good soak in the bacta tank, some careful skin grafting, and a hefty dose of painkillers, Doc assured you the Mandalorian would be just fine.
Grogu had fussed profusely from your lap, but Din had set firm rules on when the kid was allowed to use his powers. If Din was still conscious to tell him no, then no it was.
“Starting to consider Greef’s offer? Retire as a bounty hunter, become marshal here,” you ask him gently. Karga had offered it to him before, and on several occasions. Still, your Mandalorian found himself back among the the stars. Something felt different this time. The way he settled in to his cabin, sought the comforts of home. The way he let the kid play and wander longer. “It doesn’t sound too bad.”
You filled in for the job when you were on world, worked bounties as they came in when Karga needed it. You knew he hoped Din would take the job—both of you knew he would be the best at it. After following him around the galaxy, seeing him in action, there was no way to deny it.
Din looks away from the sunset to face you. “I admit I’ve been finding more reasons to stay.” His hand takes yours. He’s not wearing his gloves. His skin is rough but warm, and you skim your thumb over his knuckles.
You don’t take your eyes from him even as you lace your fingers with his. The light from the setting sun reflects on the metal of his helmet, and it makes him look softer somehow. Perhaps it is the pink glow or, when you look him over again, you realize the only beskar he wears is his helmet.
Time slows. The moment feels frozen, the cooling evening air, the touch of Din’s shoulder to yours, the pull of your gaze to search for his. His hand reaches for the helmet, lifting it gently from his head.
You don’t move. You are not sure if you can. Lips part, breath stolen. He has tousled brown hair that falls on to his forehead, creases between his eyebrows, wide brown eyes that search yours. You follow the curve of his nose to plush lips that part just as yours do.
You feel the tether once again, pulling you in. All the times you stayed close to his side, all the times you found yourself reaching for him, pressing your lips to his helm in what you hoped spoke of the affection you held. It takes hold of you now, and graciously, seems to take hold of him too.
Your lips meet his. Eyes slip shut. The light of the sun is lost to the warmth of his skin, his breath on your cheek. It’s soft and gentle. Not unlike every kiss you’ve given him since you met. He kisses you now, slow and testing. Slanting his mouth against yours, drawing closer when you don’t move away. His hand cups your cheek, your hand rests on his chest.
He tastes like home.
Your need for air is what interrupts you. Mouth pulling from his, the light sound echoing in your chest. But you don’t pull away. Neither does he.
You rest, tucked in by one of his arms. Your shoulder leaned to his side, his forehead dipped to rest on yours. You smile.
When your eyes finally come to focus again, you can see the curve of his smile too. You want to say something, test the waters of this light feeling dancing over your heart. He lifts his chin first, and his lips press to the crown of your head.
It’s warm. You sink into his embrace, let the feeling wash over you. Both of you linger on that bench, painted over by the fading sunset as a memory of quiet comfort and forehead kisses.

𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐄 [𝐎𝐍𝐄] — 𝐒𝐊𝐘𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐘
Tumblr media
two / masterlist / wattpad
summary: when a creepy fan gets too touchy with Skye in a meet and greet, she starts to see him everywhere and you're not too sure if it's true or if she's just stressed from work.
warning/s: mentions of substance abuse, mental illness and poor mental health, stalkers and just the general gist of everything bad that happens in the film.
author's note: okay so this was long overdue but it’s finally written and will be two parts, just something that came to me a few weeks ago. Hope you like it!! it’s set around the same time in the film, before Skye’s comeback tour, but there's no smile demon, and it’s loosely based around what happens in the film but not exactly that (it will make sense when you read it lol, enjoy!)
Tumblr media
"Do I look okay?"
I hummed, half listening to Skye, unable to tear my eyes from my laptop.
"It's not too casual? I didn't feel like dressing up today," she continued. "Especially because I'll have to dress up after and it's just too much, y'know?"
"Uh huh," I agreed, admittedly still looking at my laptop screen.
"You're not even listening."
"If I wasn't listening, I wouldn't be replying," I answered, scrolling through a spreadsheet.
There was a pause and then I let out a yelp when a cushion hit me in the face. I moved my hair from my eyes as I looked up in the direction it came from, realising Skye had thrown it. She was stood in front of a mirror, arms crossed and looking at me with disapproval.
"What was that for?" I asked with raised brows.
"You're ignoring me," she said with a frown, before dragging her feet towards me and flopping on the couch.
I sighed, looking over at her apologetically. "I'm sorry, I've just gotta sort this damn spreadsheet. One of the interns got into and saved over the top of it and now March doesn't have any content planned."
"First world problems right there," she said sarcastically.
I gave her a knowing look. "That's your social media content calendar in case you forgot. Do you want fans to come to your tour or not?"
At this, she began to chuckle, sitting up straight. "Okay, sorry. Sounds annoying. But still. Do I look okay?"
I rolled my eyes playfully before setting my laptop down on the coffee table and taking an actual look at her. She was wearing a long sleeved jumper with a pair of jeans. Unlike her usual eccentric outfits, this was toned down, though her jewellery was still more than an average person would wear, as expected from her.
"You look beautiful, Skye," I reassured her with a smile, taking her hand and squeezing it gently. "Very comfortable."
She relaxed, a smile creeping on her lips. "Thanks. That's all I wanted to hear."
I chuckled before kissing her hand and letting go. "Shouldn't you be going now anyway? Your meet and greet starts in ten."
We were at a charity event where she was holding a meet and greet and then performing for free afterwards. I was with her to support her as her girlfriend but also for work as her social media specialist.
"Yeah, I'm going," she said with a wave of her hand before standing up. "You coming?"
I shook my head as I grabbed my laptop and got comfortable on the couch again. "I've gotta sort this and do some other bits, but Tara is with your mum and Joshua to get some content for your Instagram."
Tara was a member of my team who I managed, and the one who would handle the in-person content for behind the scenes stuff, like meet and greets.
"Okay, good luck with all this," she said, motioning to my laptop, before flashing me a hopeful smile. "See you after?"
I nodded in agreement, glancing up at her. "See you then."
And with that, she left for her meet and greet whilst I got back to work.
I wasn't expecting anything to go wrong – it was a simple meet and greet, one Skye had done many times – but then I got a call from Tara.
"Hey, Tara, what's up?" I asked, balancing my phone between my shoulder and cheek as I worked at the same time.
"Hey," she said quietly and distractedly. "Erm, there's been a little incident."
I paused. "Incident? What sort of incident?"
There was some chatting in the background, but she must have moved away from it as it faded. "It's Skye. There was a fan who got a little too touchy. He started saying some weird things and wouldn't let go of her and security had to escort him out."
I furrowed my brows, concerned for Skye's wellbeing. "What? Is she okay? Is she hurt?"
"I think she's okay, but she seems shaken," Tara explained sympathetically. "I thought I'd call you to let you know. Mrs. Riley said not to but– well– it seemed like you should know, Y/N."
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at the mention of Elizabeth, Skye's mother and manager. I'd known Skye as a friend for a few years and we'd been dating for the past year which meant I'd experienced her mother's unconventional style of parenting firsthand. I'd never seen eye to eye with her, but acted civil as she was technically my employer. But now, as Skye's girlfriend, it only gave me more to clash with her about.
"Thanks, Tara, I appreciate you calling me," I said gratefully. "Is she still with you? Skye, I mean?"
"She finished a few minutes ago, left to go get ready for the show. She should be on her way to you now."
I exhaled deeply. "Alright. Thanks. I'll check in. Speak later."
She said her goodbyes and all I could do was wait for Skye to return. She'd been through a lot over the past year, with her recovery and recording a new album and now preparing for the tour... a lot. And she was heavily overworked and the last thing she needed was a creep making her feel uncomfortable.
Eventually I heard the door to the dressing room opening and stood up, seeing her return.
"Hey, darling," I said softly, approaching her. "Tara called and told me what happened."
She frowned, glancing at me, saying nothing. It broke my heart and I couldn't help but pull her in for a hug, wrapping my arms around her tightly. She returned the gesture, hiding her face in my shoulder.
"I'm sorry it happened," I said quietly, rubbing her back.
"He really creeped me the fuck out," she admitted, trembling.
"It's disgusting, people like that," I said with a scowl. "I'm sorry you had to experience it. But security dealt with it, right? He's gone?"
She nodded.
"Good." I pulled back to get a better read of her expression. "Are you sure you're gonna be okay to do the show? You don't have to. They'll understand."
She sighed, looking down and rubbing her forehead. "I'll be okay. I can't cancel just because of one little hiccup."
I shook my head, taking her hands and intertwining our fingers. "It wasn't a hiccup, Skye. You were assaulted. That's a lot. You can have a break if you need it."
"It's okay," she reassured, swallowing thickly and looking up to meet my gaze with her dark eyes. "I'm okay. I just needed a minute. But you're here and I'm here and everything's okay again."
"Skye–"
"Please," she cut me off abruptly, before breathing out slowly. "I don't wanna talk about it anymore."
I hesitated, not liking when she did this. She'd always push down her true feelings if it interfered with work, and it never sat right with me. But she also never listened when I pointed it out.
"Okay," I gave in reluctantly. "If you're sure you can do it."
She offered me a small smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I can."
I chewed my lip as she let go of my hands and walked further into the room, heading straight for the mini fridge. When she pulled out a bottle of water and began to chug it like it was the last drink on earth, I knew she was compartmentalising. One of her coping mechanisms after rehab was to drink water when she felt like having an actual drink, and this was no different.
But as usual, she got her way and the show went on without a hitch. Any mention of the creepy fan was no more and everybody moved on, including her.
At least, until a few days later.
We'd just gone out for some lunch together, making the most of one of the rare moments she had free, and were walking around to stretch our legs when she froze suddenly.
I stopped walking, noticing she had, and looked to her. "You good?"
She blinked, eyes fixed ahead with a sense of panic. "It's him."
I quirked a brow, looking ahead to see what she was looking at. "Him? Him who?"
Her hand on my arm tightened slightly. "From the meet and greet. The fan."
I rested my hand on hers as I looked again, eyes searching the pedestrians ahead. There was a group of people crossing the street, some others hanging by a hot dog stand and some more just idly walking by. But I couldn't see anyone who was acting suspicious or paying much attention to Skye, especially not someone who matched the description security had told me about.
"Skye, I can't see him," I said carefully, glancing back at her. "Are you sure–?"
"He's right there!" she exclaimed, stepping back shakily and tugging me with her. "He's right fucking there!"
I looked again, still not able to see him, but a few passers-by were certainly paying attention now. Worried someone may recognise her and that it could make everything worse, I grabbed her hand and began pulling her away.
"Okay, c'mon, let's go," I said quickly, leading her away from that side of the street and around the corner.
We took refuge under a flower shop's canopy and she started to glance over her shoulder, paranoid, hugging herself with discomfort. I frowned and placed a hand on her arm, rubbing it gently.
"I'll call the driver to pick us up," I said, already pulling out my phone to get her out of here.
She nodded, leaning into my side, and I hugged her with my free hand as I made the call. Once it was arranged, she exhaled shakily but didn't step back.
"You didn't see him, did you?" she asked quietly, half embarrassed and half upset.
I shook my head, glancing around once more. "No. But I believe you, Skye. If you say you saw him, you did."
She sighed, saying nothing else. I didn't let go of her until the driver arrived and took us back to her place. When I tried to speak to her about it, she didn't have much to say and it only worried me further.
It happened again, at the end of the week. I thought we'd heard the last of her crazed fan, but apparently not. I was working from home at my place when Skye called me in a frenzy.
"Hey, darling," I answered, smiling at the sight of her caller ID.
"I need you to come over," she said in a rushed tone, sounding distressed. "Please, Y/N."
My smile faded. "What? What's wrong, Skye?"
"I fucking saw him," she said with a broken voice.
I straightened up, pushing my laptop to the side. "What?"
"The fan, he was there, outside my building," she explained. "He's fucking following me, Y/N, I know he is! I saw him there when I came home and he's fucking there and I don't know what to do. Please, come here, I need you."
"Okay, I'm coming, don't worry," I said quickly, noticing she was getting worked up. "Did you tell reception? Security?"
"Yes, but they say they can't find him and I know what I fucking saw," she replied with a frustrated voice.
"Okay, stay in your apartment and lock the door, I'm on my way," I promised, worrying.
"Okay, please hurry," she muttered.
I quickly got ready before making a beeline straight for Skye's apartment. All I could think about was how stressed out this whole thing was making her. I believed her, I did, but why hadn't he been noticed by someone else by now?
Before I headed straight up, I spoke to the receptionist and security team downstairs in her building, but they claimed there was no sight of the fan, nor anyone who seemed suspicious. That certainly didn't help with my unease and I knew it would only worsen things with Skye.
When I headed up, I knocked first to let her know it was me before letting myself in with the spare key she gave me.
"Skye?" I called out, locking the door behind me.
"In my room!" she called back.
I took my shoes off before going to her bedroom, opening the door to see her sitting on her bed, duvet pulled around her like a safety blanket.
"Hey," I said softly, stepping in and closing the door behind me.
She opened her duvet slightly, hinting for me to get in, so I crawled in beside her and leaned back against the headboard. She attached herself to my side, holding me tight with a pout on her face, trembling ever so slightly. I held her close, kissing the top of her head.
"I spoke to security and reception on the way up," I started gently. "There's no immediate threat. You're safe here."
"I told you, I know what I saw," she muttered rigidly into my chest.
"I'm not doubting that," I spoke, choosing my words carefully. "But... are you sure it's the same guy? Not a lookalike? I know you've been stressed out and–"
Suddenly she pulled away from me, fixing me with a teary glare. "Fuck you."
Realising I'd definitely not said the right thing, I turned to face her and rested my hand on hers. "No, wait, I just wanna make sure, Skye, that's all." She sucked up a breath and wiped away a tear as she glared at the door. "Hey, I just want to make sure," I repeated, eyes flickering over her face with concern.
She swallowed hard, jaw tensed as she looked to me. "I know it's him. I couldn't forget. He's scaring me on purpose."
I nodded slowly, believing she thought she was seeing him. But I couldn't be certain he was actually there. Still, I couldn't say that without her pushing me away, so I said nothing.
"Stay tonight," she said quietly, looking down at my hand on hers and playing with it mindlessly. "Please. I don't wanna be alone."
"I will," I promised, noticing her fatigue. "Have you slept, Skye? You look tired."
She scoffed. "It's hard to sleep when I've got a fucking stalker."
"You're safe here," I reminded her, before squeezing her hand. "Have a nap, c'mon."
She sighed deeply before giving in with a nod, lying down, head in my lap, which was her signal for me to play with her hair. I pushed her blonde hair from her eyes, stroking it gently how she liked. She let out a relaxing breath as I did, eyes fluttering closed.
"I want my security increased," she spoke after a moment, half asleep. "Please."
I hummed, finding her hand under the duvet with my free one and holding it. "I'll talk to your mum about it."
She nodded and fell quiet once more, eventually dozing off. Meanwhile, I tried to think of what we could do because clearly the issue wasn't resolving itself.
As promised, I made it my priority to speak to her mother about her security. Elizabeth Riley wasn't my favourite person, but I had to remind myself that we still had the same thing in common: Skye's safety.
So, whilst Skye was stuck in rehearsals at her dance studio, I went on a search for her mother. Thankfully, Elizabeth never strayed too far from her daughter when it came to work, so it didn't take me long to find her chatting to her assistant, Joshua, in one of the hallways around the building.
Approaching them, I stopped between them and watched as their conversation came to a halt when they noticed me.
"Y/N, hey," Joshua greeted with a warm smile. "It's good to see you."
I returned his smile. "You too, Joshua. Sorry to interrupt. I was actually hoping I could have a quick chat with Elizabeth?"
My eyes fell to the older woman, who glanced at Joshua with a knowing nod before looking to me with a small smile.
"Sure thing, Y/N," she said nonchalantly, before adding to Joshua, "Get that merch order rectified, Joshua, thanks."
Joshua nodded obediently before flashing me another smile and leaving us be. I watched him leave and looked back to Elizabeth with a serious expression.
"What did you need?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice. I didn't blame her, since we rarely went out of our way to interact unless necessary.
"It's about Skye," I spoke quietly, in an urgent tone. "You know the whole thing that happened with that crazy fan at her meet and greet last week? It really freaked her out."
"Yes, I know, I was there," she said dismissively. "It was a lot, but it was taken care of. Nobody's seen the guy since. Clearly security scared him off."
I ignored her dismissal and responded, "Skye thinks she's seen him this week."
She lifted a brow, skeptical. "Thinks?"
"She's seen him," I corrected myself, realising how it sounded. "When we were out for lunch. And again, yesterday, outside of her apartment building."
She hummed, crossing her arms thoughtfully. "And did he approach her?" I shook my head, and she continued, "Did you see him?"
"Well, no," I answered, a little sheepish, "but she's really upset. And understandably so." I straightened up, meeting Elizabeth's stern gaze. "She wants more security. She's being stalked."
Definitely not reacting how I expected to, she sighed deeply like this was a minor inconvenience at most. "Y/N, if she's the only one who's seen him, she might be seeing things."
"With all due respect–"
"Skye is stressed out right now," she cut me off, adamant. "There's lots to worry about with her comeback tour. I love her, but she's got a lot to balance and that unfortunate encounter at her meet and greet may have startled her. If nobody else has seen him, you included, how likely is it that he's there?"
I pressed my lips together firmly, unsure how else to respond. Admittedly, a small part of me could see where she was coming from and I hated it.
"Her security team is great as it is," she finished decisively. "I don't think she needs more."
I swallowed thickly, feeling a little helpless, especially as I imagined telling Skye her mother's response. "She's really scared, Elizabeth."
Elizabeth motioned to me casually. "Let her know she's okay then. That's what you're there for, isn't it?"
And just like that, I was reminded why I heavily disliked her.
"She's safe, Y/N," she told me with a knowing look. "There's no stalker. My daughter is just tired. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to work."
I clenched my jaw slightly as she walked away without a care in the world. Or, at least not for her daughter.
Dreading what was to come with Skye, I tried to distract myself with my own work, finding a spare table and chair to sit at with my laptop. I wasn't sure what I was going to tell her, but it definitely couldn't be that her mum didn't believe her.
After her rehearsals were over, she found me at my laptop, still sweaty as if she'd come straight to me before showering.
"Hey," she called out, making me look up.
She sat at the edge of the table and looked down to me.
"Hey, Skye," I greeted with a smile, trying my very best to hide my nerves. "How were rehearsals?"
"Alright," she answered with a shrug, wiping her face with her sweat towel.
"And your back?" I asked considerately. "You didn't overdo it, did you?"
She rolled her eyes playfully. "No, I didn't. You don't have to ask every time you know."
I gave her a knowing look, since she definitely knew that I did. After she pushed herself too hard at rehearsals a month ago and was stuck recovering for a few days after, ice pack glued to her back, I couldn't let her do it again.
"I took it easy," she promised, pushing herself off the table.
Believing her, I nodded and let it go.
"Did you talk to my mum about my security?" she asked after a moment, and I internally panicked.
Buying myself a few more seconds, I stood up to look at her properly, though the hesitation was still there. Enough for her to notice anyway.
"She doesn't believe me," she said instantly, expression hardening. "Of course she fucking doesn't."
"No, that's not it," I found myself saying without thinking. "She just... thinks you have enough security already, that's all."
She clenched her jaw and looked away, but her frustration was still present in the way she squeezed her sweat towel into a fist.
"Skye, you're safe," I tried to reassure her, taking her hand and feeling her grip on the towel loosen. "Everybody is looking out for you. And if anyone dares get too close, they'll know about it."
She didn't speak, her head clearly running a mile a minute. She had a faraway look in her eye that concerned me, so I lowered my head to meet her gaze.
"Hey, I'll stay with you at your place," I said softly. "Until you feel at ease. I don't mind."
Her eyes flickered between mine, unreadable, then she nodded. "Alright. I should shower. See you after."
I opened my mouth to respond, but she already let go of my hand and walked away, not in the best of moods. Sighing, I ran a hand through my hair, knowing I could have handled that better.
"...no, I want the one with chocolate in it."
I glanced at Skye with an amused smile. "Seriously? You told me you hate the one with chocolate in it. You said it always melts on your fingers when you're eating it."
She scoffed playfully, picking up the trail mix packet from the shelf. "Yeah, but the two minutes where it doesn't melt is my favourite."
I sighed as I grabbed the one without chocolate in it. "Yeah, and then you'll just take mine and I'll be left with the melted one."
"What's your point?"
I quirked a brow as she stared at me, waiting for an expiation. Letting out a quiet laugh, I rolled my eyes and nudged her slightly before taking the trail mix from her hand.
"Fine, idiot, let's pay," I said, realising some things just wouldn't change with Skye. And as much as I pretended to hate it, I didn't.
She grinned with satisfaction before the two of us went to the front of the convenience store, joining the short queue at the till.
"Wanna walk back to your place or call the driver?" I asked Skye as we stepped forward.
She glanced outside the shop window, probably looking at the weather. "It's not too bad out. Let's walk."
I hummed in agreement, patiently waiting until we reached the front of the queue. As I was paying for the few bits we picked up, including the trail mix I would definitely not get to eat, Skye was already walking outside to wait for me, lingering.
"Oh, can I get this gum too, sorry?" I said quickly, before the order went through, taking some gum off the display stand.
The cashier nodded and was putting it through the till when we both heard shouting from outside the shop. I furrowed my brows, looking out the window, only to widen my eyes when I realised it was Skye. She looked like she was yelling at someone in the distance, but I couldn't be sure.
"Shit," I muttered to myself, before tapping my card quickly, paying.
"Do you want your rec–"
"No, it's fine, thanks," I said quickly, grabbing the bag before almost tripping over my own feet as I left the store.
"...I'll call the police, you psycho!" Skye was shouting across the street, earning judgemental looks off several bystanders.
"Skye!" I exclaimed, standing in front of her and holding her shoulders to get her attention. "What are you doing?"
She was trembling as she glared ahead, and I tried to follow her stare to see who she was yelling at, but other than the confused pedestrians staring at us, there was nobody.
"Hey, what?" I asked worriedly, looking back to her and searching her watery gaze.
Her eyes met mine, terrified. "It's fucking him."
I swallowed thickly, realising she was still talking about this stalker who only she ever seemed to see.
"I fucking saw him," she repeated, looking across the street again.
I frowned, rubbing her arms gently before feeling eyes on us. People were starting to put two and two together, no doubt recognising Skye, so I quickly laced our fingers together and led her away.
"C'mon, let's get you home," I told her calmly, but inside I was extremely concerned for her wellbeing.
She didn't speak, though her eyes were darting around, paranoid. When we reached her apartment building, I gave a heads up to the security there before leading her up to her apartment and settling on the couch with her.
She was leaning on my shoulder for comfort, my arm wrapped around her as I tried to find the right words. But there was no way to say it without making her feel like I was ignoring her.
"Skye," I started gently, softly. "Do you think that, maybe, you might be imagining this fan?"
She tensed up before pulling back slightly, fixing me with a glare. "You think I'm crazy?"
I widened my eyes slightly. "No, no, not at all! But I just–" I paused, trying to express my thoughts better without upsetting her further. "I haven't seen him. Nobody has, except you. And it was a scary thing what happened at the meet and greet–"
"You weren't even fucking there," she cut me off with a scowl, hurt in her expression as she stood up.
"I know," I said with a sigh, before standing up too. "I just mean, you've been working very hard and not getting enough rest and maybe you're–"
"Fuck you," she interrupted, gaze running over me with irritation. "You don't believe me."
I frowned. "Skye–"
"No," she snapped. "You think I'm fucking hallucinating!"
I winced at her words. "That's not–"
"Get out," she decided, crossing her arms sternly.
I stepped forward in an attempt to make amends. "Skye–"
"Now!" she shouted.
Swallowing hard, I let out a disappointed sigh. This was the exact opposite of what I wanted to happen. Especially because she looked so hurt and betrayed and I'd never been on the receiving end of that before, not from her.
"I'm sorry," I muttered. "I'm just worried."
"About the wrong thing," she retorted, avoiding looking at me.
I closed my eyes, internally kicking myself, before reluctantly leaving her apartment.

home is where you are
@steddiebingo prompts: hurt/comfort (main card) and home (christmas card)

Eddie came home from work to absolute chaos. Addie and Violet were sitting on the living room floor, arguing over whether to put the white lights or the colored lights on the Christmas tree, which he had put up the night before. Addie wanted white, but Violet wanted colored. Eddie was almost certain none of their lights from last year were even going to work, so they'd have to buy new ones anyway. James and Lucy were fighting over an orange crayon at the coffee table, two blank pieces of paper and a whole assortment of other colored crayons in front of them. Steve and their youngest, Grace, were nowhere to be seen, but Eddie could hear movement in the kitchen. Eddie quickly slipped his boots off at the door and swooped in to de-escalate all the arguing.
He started by grabbing a second, emergency, box of crayons from the cabinet that held the art supplies. He pulled out an orange one and handed it to Lucy, so she would stop trying to take the other one from her brother. Then he moved to the older two girls, squatting down in front of them and picking up two strings of lights.
“Why don't we put the lights away for now, my loves? They probably don't even work. I’ll take you both to the store this week and we can pick some new ones out together. How does that sound?”
They easily agreed, and Eddie was incredibly grateful that everything was solved quickly tonight. Once all of the pups were settled and occupied, not a single argument left to be had, Eddie moved to the kitchen. He stopped in the doorway to smile at what he found. Steve was standing at the stove, stirring a pot of boiling macaroni noodles with Grace on his hip. He was swaying back and forth, softly humming a lullaby as he did.
Eddie slid up behind him, leaning in with a hand on Steve’s other hip to kiss his cheek. “Evenin', beautiful,” he whispered. Steve smiled and turned his head to get a proper kiss.
“Hey, baby. How was work?” Steve asked after they had separated.
Grace was grinning, trying to scramble from Steve’s hold while saying, “Da!”
Eddie shrugged, taking Grace into his own arms. “Nothin’ new. Missed you, though. How was your day? Pups drive you too crazy?”
Steve hummed in consideration. “Hectic. Lots of arguments today. Oh, Lucy broke one of the nice glasses that Joyce got us. She was trying to be like Addie and Violet and help put the dishes away, but she dropped it and it shattered. Everyone was okay, though, and I’m pretty sure I got all the glass cleaned up.”
Eddie’s hand looped around further to rest on Steve’s swollen belly. “And how was the little one today? Not causing too much trouble, I hope?”
Steve huffed a small laugh. “Not letting me actually get anything done today.” He put down his spoon and leaned back into Eddie’s chest. “Every time I finally got the rest of the pups settled down enough to do something, I either had to pee or sit down for a little bit. By the time I was done, someone else needed something, and the cycle repeated.”
“That's okay,” Eddie murmured, nuzzling his nose against the shell of Steve’s ear and taking a deep breath of his scent. He always loved how much sweeter his mate smelled during pregnancy. It was one of his favorite parts of the experience. “I'll finish the chores for you after dinner. You just worry about relaxing.”
“Eddie, no,” Steve argued, moving to stir the pasta again. “You just worked a ten-hour shift. You shouldn't have to come home and do everything here too. I'll take care of it.”
“You will do no such thing.” Eddie adjusted his hold on Grace, who was snuggled against his chest after not seeing him since the night before. She had been the only one still asleep when Eddie left for work that morning. “You chased our little pack of hooligans around all day while growing a pup. You deserve to put your feet up and relax for the evening. I'll take care of everything else. Don't worry about anything.”
Steve glanced over his shoulder with a frown. “At least let me help. Then we can get everything done faster.”
Eddie smiled and kissed Steve’s cheek again. “Whatever makes you feel better, my love.”
Dinner in the Munson household that night was quite the affair, as it usually was with five kids under the age of eight. Afterwards, Eddie corralled all the pups upstairs for baths and pajamas while Steve cleaned up in the kitchen. By the time everyone was clean, clothed, and settled on the couch for one last movie before bedtime, Eddie was wrecked. He loved his children more than anything in his life (except maybe Steve), but they were exhausting. He had no idea how his mate did it all day long.
Finally, he started the movie and went to track down his superhero of a partner. It didn't take him long at all. Steve was in the laundry room, loading the washer to get one more in for the evening. Eddie came up behind him, wrapping his arms around his husband and kissing his cheek. He pulled Steve back into his chest and swayed gently. He reveled in the way Steve instantly sank into his hold, body going lax and a sigh of contentment leaving his lips.
“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Eddie whispered.
“Mmmm, tell me again?” Steve replied just as softly.
“I love you so so so much, my love.” Eddie gently tightened his arms around him. “You are an absolute wonder. I don't know how you deal with our little gremlins all day and not just completely lose your mind.”
Steve hummed, a soft smile on his lips. “They're not so bad. Most days. It helps that Addie, Violet, and James go to school five days a week.”
“A saint,” Eddie said, slowly releasing his hold on Steve to dramatically collapse to his knees in front of him. “I worship on my knees in your holy presence.” As Steve laughed, Eddie leaned forward with his hands on Steve’s sides to press a kiss to his belly. Their pup moved beneath his touch. Eddie would never get tired of the feeling. It always amazed him, just what Steve’s body was capable of, especially when it came to creating life.
“Come on, up off the floor,” Steve finally said, grabbing Eddie’s hand and starting to pull him up. The alpha went easily, rarely one to say no to his omega.
With the pups suitably distracted for at least a little bit longer, Steve and Eddie set about the quiet routine of getting evening chores done. They didn't speak much, just moved around each other in a comfortable silence. Eddie did the day’s dishes and wiped down the countertops while Steve folded laundry at the table. The movie in the living room was still going when Grace started getting fussy. It wasn't long before Violet was calling for them to make her stop.
“I'll get her,” Eddie said softly, not wanting to break the calming atmosphere in the kitchen. Steve nodded, still folding laundry, while Eddie headed for the living room.
Grace was pushing at Lucy when Eddie walked in, and Lucy was quickly losing patience with her little sister. Eddie picked Grace up, trying to remedy the situation, but that just caused a full blown tantrum. She kicked and screamed, fighting against Eddie and her own exhaustion. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. No matter how hard he tried to put out a calming scent to soothe her, it was all for naught. She just kept screaming and kicking and writhing. Steve quickly appeared in the doorway, looking a little worried. As soon as Grace saw him, she reached her arms out.
“Give her here,” he said gently, coming over to take the screaming toddler from Eddie’s arms. “I'll sit with her.”
Eddie nodded and passed her off to Steve, watching as Grace instantly began to calm down. He made sure Steve was comfortable on the couch with Grace curled into his body before leaving to finish cleaning up the kitchen and folding laundry. By the time he was done, the movie was over. All five of their pups were fast asleep on the couch. Grace was curled up on Steve’s lap, her head pillowed on his chest. Lucy was situated firmly in Steve’s side, while the older three were piled up and stretched out across the other cushions.
Eddie was extremely careful in his extraction. He took Addie and Violet upstairs to the room they shared first, then James to his room. When he came back, he slowly picked up Lucy and let her burrow into his neck while Steve carefully tried to stand up with Grace. It was a lot harder the further along this pregnancy got, but Steve was nothing if not determined. He never let anything slow him down; not even being nearly eight months pregnant. Again, superhero. Eddie was obsessed with him.
After a very long, very chaotic night, all of the pups were finally tucked away in their beds. Eddie and Steve could actually take a minute to breathe without someone needing something. As they did every night, once the children were tucked in and sound asleep, they curled up on the couch together with some random movie they'd seen a hundred times before. It was more for the noise and familiarity than the movie itself. Steve was tucked against Eddie’s side, his head resting where he could hear Eddie’s heartbeat, just like every night. Eddie held him close, breathing in Steve’s scent and letting himself finally relax for the first time all day. They both remained quiet for a while.
Something deep down in his gut was telling Eddie that something was wrong. Something was bothering Steve, festering in his mind. Before he got the chance to ask, Steve was opening his mouth to speak.
“Do you think we’re making a mistake?” he asked so softly, Eddie almost didn't catch it. If their house hadn't been so quiet, he might not have heard him.
“What do you mean?” Eddie tightened his arm around Steve’s shoulders.
Steve shrugged as best he could from under Eddie’s arm. “I just- Do you think all of this is just a big mistake?” Eddie’s heart shattered at the broken lilt to Steve’s voice, the tremble of his words. “Is having another baby a mistake?”
Eddie frowned, trying so hard to control his scent. “Of course not. What's wrong, baby? Where is this coming from?”
Steve sniffled a little, pressing his cheek a little more firmly into Eddie’s chest. “I don't know. I just- We already have five kids, Eddie. Our- our house isn't that nice. We don't really have a whole lot of extra money. And with Grace’s medical bills… maybe- maybe we should have just stopped after James, or Lucy. Maybe everyone was right, and this is all just a big mistake.”
Eddie shook his head, feeling the fabric of his t-shirt start to dampen. “Absolutely not,” he said. He pulled away, shifting so he could fully look at Steve. “Baby, this is not a mistake. I don't know who’s putting these ideas in your head, but they're wrong. So what if we don't have the nicest house in Hawkins? That's never mattered. Not to me, not to the pups. It's just a house, Stevie. And so what if we don't have all the money in the world? Our family has a roof over their heads, clothes on their bodies, and they never have to worry about going hungry. Our pups are loved. Why should anything else matter?”
Fat tears rolled down Steve’s cheeks. Eddie caught them with his thumbs as he cradled Steve’s face in his hands.
“I love you, Steve Munson,” he continued, unable to stop now that he was on a roll. “I love you, and I love our pups, and I love our life. I don't care about money, or our house. All I care about is our family. Our five little pups, who bring me so much joy every single day. Sweet little Sophia, who is going to be so loved, just like her siblings. You, the love of my absolute life, who has given me so much to be grateful for.”
Tears were welling up in Eddie’s eyes against his permission. He just loved Steve so much, and he hated seeing him so upset.
“Eddie,” Steve whispered, voice shaking with his emotions.
“Stevie, honey, I cannot even begin to tell you just how amazing I think you are. How strong, capable, loving, and wonderful. The greatest gift of my life is getting to be a dad, and you have given that to me six times now. I am so deeply in love with you, and our big family. I would never trade any of our pups for anything in the entire world. I don't need a fancy house or money, because you and our babies are my home. I don't care what anyone else has to say about it. I am obsessed with you and our six little pups, this house with its scattered Christmas decorations that we haven't had the time to put up yet, and every single other thing about this little life we’ve built for ourselves. Fuck everyone else. This is the only thing that matters.”
Eddie held Steve to his chest as he cried, rubbing his back and whispering all of his love into Steve’s ear in the hope that it would sink beneath his skin and stay there forever.
Later, Grace will wake up and need Eddie to put her back to sleep. Later, Lucy will crawl into bed with them and cuddle up to Steve. Later, Eddie will help Steve make breakfast before going to work. Later, they’ll put up decorations and stick the Christmas presents under the tree. Later, they’ll have a newborn in the house, someone else for Eddie to love with everything he has.
Later, Eddie will still be deeply in love with the home that he and Steve have built together, regardless of what anyone else has to say about it.

Cum back
The long awaited Maknae Line Cuddle Reading is finally here🙌🏻
I hope y'all enjoy!
Han
Don't see him as a big cuddler tbh. I think he does every once in a while when its convenient, but i see him preferring to have his own space more. Like still laying in one bed with his partner, looking something together, but everyone has their personal space. Maybe when initially laying downs theres 2 minutes of cuddling and then everyone gies back to their own place🥲 im also seeing him preferring cuddles when its dark, so either early in the morning when waking up or late at night when doing movie night or falling asleep.
Felix
Cuddling with him is a part of daily routine, i think it'll be happening all day long, at every convenient chance. Cuddles will also be really warm and feel...ugh uk that feeling when you've been out and about the whole day, and ur exhausted and finally lay in bed and ur spine decompresses and u literally can feel the tension and stress exiting ur body? Thats the feeling u'll get when cuddling with felix. Of relaxation, but not quite. Just purging u off negative energy and tension. Cuddling will also be filled with talks and fun and jokes etc im hearing and also - im seeing he won't be shying away from pda. Im seeing lots of cuddling and embracing in public. Im seeing also firm grip(?) and compression. I think he likes receiving deep pressure and probably also gives that in his cuddle sessions too. Im also seeing feet massage.
Seungmin
Seungmin sadly is also one of the non-cuddlers. Im hearing "its a waste of time" and he would prefer to indulge in a hobby by himself, get some work done, run errands tasks etc, or spend quality time with his partner (but like doing something together, actively). But just laying on the couch, together, doesn't seem very appealing to him. He doesn't like it as far as i can pick up on the energy. Despite all that im seeing him cuddling A LOT nonetheless, probably because his partner loves it, and he loves his partner and wants to make them happy, so persay he doesn't like cuddling itself but he likes making his partner happy. Not seeing many clues on how he actually cuddles, but the card shows strong focus on the partner and mirroring to some degree so i assume he just cuddles the way his partner likes. So there's no one set way - it depends on who he's with. Also another important point is that this is not the case for all his partners. The person he's with has to be very special, and he has to love them very much. So yeah - they get that special treatment cuddles.
I.N
He got almost all the same cards as felix😂 i'd say he really loves cuddling, he does it often and likes to keep a constant "schedule". Like he would definitely notice and miss it if today he only cuddled his partner once, for example. Or if in the morning they forgot or didn't have time to cuddle. He'll definitely notice the difference and miss it throughout the day. I think he needs that constant energy to keep him strong and balanced (like mentally/emotionally) and it just gives him a sense of comfort and makes him feel loved in the relationship. I think physical contacts very important to him. I also see him get easily aroused when cuddling and often wanting to slap some cheeks after the cuddle sesh. Im seeing high libido overall, may be a reason for why physical contacts so important to him and why he needs that to feel lm throughout the day. Now i don't mean him needing that every 30 min. But he needs a consistent routine as i said, for example in the morning, then when he gets home, then after dinner, then while watching a movie, during cooking, before falling asleep etc. like just once for a few minutes isn't enough. Not getting much insight on the cuddling itself tho...so i think he doesn't have much preferences as long as its cuddling and just physical contact and just like...their bodies being pressed close to one another. I think he likes cuddling in a layed down position, like he's on his back and his partners on top yk? But not just the head the whole body. Or he has his head on their belly or butt. Just something of that sort, more horizontal cuddling.

Forced proximity
Prompt: forced to take shelter together from various environmental hazards, how will they handle being so close to you?
Characters: Shenhe, Diluc, Chevreuse, Dehya, Kaeya, Zhongli
Tumblr media
Chevreuse
“My musket is waterproof, so we won’t be stopped with the rain.” She said as you ran with her to find shelter. You two had been trying to set up a trap for local criminals using you, a newbie as bait with her in the shadows. Normally you would be against this but you had actually used this before and you didn’t end up with even a scratch from it. As long as Chevreuse was the one you were working with, it was fine.
“I’m more worried about the hypothermia personally.” You complained. Your dainty dress was by no means waterproof. Infact it acted like a sponge, you would be warmer snuggling with cryo slimes than in this getup.
“Over there! There’s a ship wreck, that could offer some shelter if we’re lucky.” She said. The shipwreck seemed recent, probably from the flood of fontaine which displaced many. It seemed this one was relatively in good condition, rust only starting to form on its metal exterior. You ran in with her as you two quickly sought to remove your wet exterior clothes. “We’ll have to remove your dress, sorry if that’s uncomfortable but its just too drenched.” You were a bit surprised but understood.
“Yes I know, just give me sometime.” You said. It wasn’t easy but you knew it had to be done. What made it more difficult was how it clung to you. Hiding behind a broken wall, you undressed to your underwear. You looked to see if she was watching but she had her back turned, trying to get a fire started. You began to squeeze the water out, trying to not get it on you in the process. Next time you should ask for a jacket when she approaches you with the disguise.
“Are you done yet.”
“Almost.. there’s alot of water in this.” You groaned. You noticed she had successfully started a fire. Making sure to isolate it from any flammable objects. You were so cold at that point you just draped your wet dress over your self and sat a bit away from her.
“that bad huh. I’ll just keep my eyes elsewhere then.” She said. “I didn’t think it’d rain today, especially considering how warm it was a second ago.”
“That dastardly hydro dragon. Someone should give them emotional support animal at this rate.” you cursed under your breath.
“It’s probably that one ongoing trial with the serial killer. He’s go a bastard of a lawyer who’s really good at loopholes. Supposedly the final trial is today.”
“They’re not letting that pyscho back out surely?!” You jolted.
“Relax, all it takes is one slip up and he’s got no defense then. Besides, Neuvillette will definitely not let him go if he still considers him guilty.”
“You’re right but considering I fit the bill for his primary victims i can’t exactly sleep soundly until his head is off or he’s imprisoned! I wish Furina was still in the courts, she would’ve never let that man get this far.”
“I’m sure she has her own reasons, but considering how much help you’ve been I’m not going to let you go unguarded. I’ll schedule patrols by your district more and by your areas.”
“You would do that for me? I’m impressed. I didn’t know I did such a good job at being a damsel for hire.” You snickered.
“I mean it. Oh and by the way, your clothes look dry now.” She said. You almost forgot about that.
“Oh, give me a second.”you went back behind your wall to redress yourself, this time leaving the hoop skirt out of it.
“If you’re still cold we should huddle together. That way we can share body heat.” She said as you approached her once more. “My body is warmer than usual because of my vision after all”
“I’ll take you up on that offer then.” You smiled sitting much closer to her than she might’ve expected. “Do you mind a bit of cuddling?”
“With you? No.” She said, her arm wrapped around you almost on instinct. “You’re a bit more special than other people to me.”
“Do you tell that to every damsel you hire?” You tease.
“Oh god of course not! What do you think I am?” She cackled. “You make it sound like you’re some.. prostitute!”
“I am selling my body technically.” You added, jokingly, your head resting on her shoulders almost by instinct.
“Why did you take up that offer anyways? You have a good job, enough to live on the surface anyways.”
“Because I wanted to get stuck in the rain with you obviously! But in seriousness.. i uhh.. had a loan i had to pay and i spent a good majority on my paycheck already. So i needed fast cash and i saw the paper and i took it.” You explained.
“Huh, you sure you weren’t trying to hit on me? Because you were eyeing me during that little training session.” She adds.
“If that’s what you would like it be then yes I was hitting on you.” You said, your eyes trailed to her cheeks to catch a glimpse of her blushing face.
“Hm… I guess you were then.. lets get some rest.. the rain should let up by then.”
You couldn’t help feeling delightful that you finally broke her cold exterior. And with your body so close to hers, you truly felt victorious.
Diluc
“There. Its not much but it should offer some shelter in the meantime.” He said pointing to a old caravan. The roof of it was intact. You two quickly hid under there. Quickly finding your bodies pressed against each other.
“S-sorry.. i can’t move over any more.” You said nervously. But In reality, you didn’t want to move from his warm body at all. It felt like laying on a warm patch of sunlight.
“Its fine. I’ve been told I’m warm enough already. Here.” He took off his jacket, wrapping it across you.
“Thank you… and thank you for saving me from those hilichurls earlier too.” Your heart was racing, it sounded like his was too.
“Its nothing. Those knights, they were supposed to clear the area for merchants.” He scowled.
“Well, it was my fault for making the delivery without a jacket. I should’ve taken Sara’s advice and gone the long way. Its a good thing I still have it.” You managed to pull out the food in question, it was just a simple chicken skewers.
“I suppose you won’t be able to deliver it now, there’s no harm in having it if you’re hungry.” He said. But you offered it to him.
“Have one, you must be hungry. I can’t imagine its easy wielding a claymore on a empty stomach.. besides, there’s already one for myself”
“Why did they order chicken skewers, its the most simple dish to make?” He said almost judge-mentally.
“Well its a special one, we used a marinade for the chicken, try it.” You again offered it to him. He took it. You watched his eyes light up. “Good right? It would be better if it was warm.”
“I’m sure could try it while stopping by.”
“That sounds nice… you’re really warm by the way..” you blurt out. He looks surprised.
“I hope so. Are you warm too?” He asked. You nod.
“We should wait out the storm. I’m sure it shouldn’t be too long.” He said, you realized his face has been red this whole time.
“Although.. My winery isn’t too far from here.. but you said your foot hurt right?”
“I did earlier yes. I might’ve sprained it.” You sigh. “It feels fine now.”
“Hmm… that’s no good. Lets wait until it lightens up then. I can’t risk you injuring yourself further now.”
“I-if you want you could go ahead. It might be better so you’re not stuck out here too.” You say. He seems upset at the idea.
“Absolutely not. You could freeze to death. Lets stay here where I can keep you safe.” His words stuck out to you. Is it possible that he meant that in a more romantic context? Are you just overthinking it?
“I-I’m getting rather tired though.. I almost just want to sleep..” you said. Your eyelids felt a bit heavy, he was just… so warm, his body pressed up against you.. his arms around you… you hoped you would feel this again.
“I’ll keep watch. Just rest a little bit.” He said. As you drifted off to sleep you noticed a light kiss on your head.
“Cute.” He mumbled to himself.
Dehya
“Ugh! I’m so sick of the sand.” You and Dehya were taking shelter inside a cave, you were a professor at the Akademiya, you came out to the desert to study the giant ruin machines so you could do a lesson on them only to get caught in a sandstorm. Lucky for you, Dehya who you had hired, was well versed in the desert.
“Well that’s what you get. Lucky that you hired me, I’m certain you would have never found this cave.” She grinned proudly.
“I’m certain i’d be dead with that stupid wenut poking around. Ugh, what do those things even eat?!” You shook your clothes to get the sand out.
“Idk I’m not the scholar here so.” Dehya grinned.
“Hey my expertise is in machinery.. not oversized worms with no business of existing!” You fussed over your hair, to your shame, it hadn’t survived well. The hair tie you wore must’ve broken while you were busy trying to block the sand out of your eyes. “Ugh.. so much sand in my hair too… this is so unbecoming of me.”
“Unbecoming? You’re a scholar not a model.” Dehya said.
“Thanks.” You said sarcastically. “But I need to look professional and well put together. I’m not the prettiest sure but I should at least look like I am a scholar and not some rat drowing in sand!” You found your hair had also knotted together in what you horrifically realized was a huge mess. Not even your hairbrush could save you.. “oh god…” you winced as you got your hairbrush out, it felt painful to brush it out.
“Yikes.. let me help you there.” Dehya said. You turned to her.
“How is your hair fine!” You felt ashamed.
“I dunno, I wasn’t trying to fight the wind back there, but its really not that bad. Here just sit infront of me and I’ll help.”
“Well.. i guess you’re the expert on desert stuff.. do you encounter this problem alot?” You asked, obliging by her request.
“Oh definitely. Alot of eremite gals use praids or tie their hair up in some way. I could put yours in one if you like?”
“If any of it is salvageable that would be nice. You’re actually rather smart yourself.. you would do well in the ak-“
“Nope.”
“Why? I’m not trying to insult your job, especially right now, but I really think you could do alot more in your life!”
“Then who would you hire for all your little adventures then?” She said.
“Well.. there’s dozens of eremites, i could find another. I just think you have potential that you can’t explore in this position.” You sighed.
“I know you mean well but honestly I like it. There’s no way I’d give up the thrill of adventure and fighting for studying some stupid class like.. calculus.” Her voice carried a confidence you envied. But you noticed her hands were quite skilled, you didn’t feel any pain as she brushed out your knots.
“I’ll give you that, math isn’t the most interesting. But even just like reading some books might do you good! I’m not asking you to become my student I just think maybe investing in a library card could be useful!” You felt at ease strangely. You had been a regular of Dehya’s. Mostly because she was the most trustworthy by review, and also she was a woman. You didn’t exactly want to travel alone with just a man you didn’t know. And also she was rather pretty to look at.
“That is actually a interesting suggestion. I might take you up on that sometime.” She smiled. “Say, how come you always pick me? I heard from the other Eremites that you even canceled a whole trip you had planned because I wasn’t available.”
“W-well..” you blushed. “I just trust you the most. These conditions aren’t exactly easy for me and I’d rather traverse dangerous terrain with someone I trust and someone I know. Besides it gives me the opportunity to not rely on my colleagues’ decisions. I’m not as social as you might think.”
“You sure that’s it? You’re willing to sacrifice papers and lessons just because you don’t trust the other eremites? You know we didn’t start off besties here, what made you pick me in the first place? And it not like its just because I’m a girl, there’s plenty of female eremites out there well versed in combat like myself. I could recommend them to you.”
“I- just.. have a preference for you. Nothing wrong about that is there? Its more mora in your pocket so why should you care?” You pouted. She chuckled behind you.
“Easy now. I didn’t mean to sound like I was complaining. Its nice seeing how loyal you are to me.” You just feel her cocky smirk from behind. But your ego was quickly forgotten as she finished brushing out your knots, now starting to braid them. “If it does any good, you are my favorite customer. That and the traveler but its not like they hire me or anything. I’ve rather enjoyed our adventures. Maybe you should join the eremites~”
“Absolutely not! If i could handle it on my own then i would. Y-you do realize that- oh.. I see what you’re doing.” You sigh.
“See, its not fun when people question your career choices. Much less trying to push their own onto you. This is my dream job, I don’t need to take a class to perfect it.”
“Well to be honest I just would like to see you more that’s all.” You blurted out. Dehya realized you had been blushing this whole time. She seemed a bit surprised. “Those other scholars at the Akademiya are most old geezers with flies in their head reiterating the same sentiments with little flexibility. I much rather talk to you even if you don’t understand those concepts. I just… like to be around you that’s all.”
“Woah. That makes scholarly life alot less appealing you know?”
“I’m not trying to recruit you here! I just.. wanted a excuse to see you around more.” Silence fell between you two. You worried if you had been too open then, letting her know how you felt… “Y-you know there’s talk from Faruzan about opening a school or class in the desert. I think you could help with that.”
“That’s actually rather interesting. Whats her plan?”
“Oh just literacy. Its so they can read more complex topics. Oh and Kaveh was working on a library for the Aaru village too. I wanted to ask what books you think would appeal to the desert kids?” You added.
“Maybe if you have some textbooks that’d be easy or-“
“I mean like fiction. What did you want to learn about as a kid?” You said looking at her. You were a bit surprised to see such a fond look in her eyes. It made your heart thump ad your confidence wavered.
“Well.. I wanted to- hey.. the storms over.” Dehya said looking out at the entrance. You almost forgot about the storm.
“Oh.. maybe we should spend the night here just in case.” You said.
“You just want to keep talking don’t you.” Dehya smiled.
“Well yes. But also my feet are killing me still.”
Shenhe
“Its getting cold out, we need to seek shelter immediately.” Shenhe said. But it was only a light downpour. You felt a little whimsical.
“Oh its such a pretty sight. Rain in the snow.. oh I love it.” You quickly got out your camera to take a few photos. “There will be more icicles soon. Ooh it would make fo such a go- OH?” You quickly were picked up by Shenhe as she located a nearby hilichurl camp.
“Wait but what about- wait why is it empty.” You noted how old it looked. Dust collecting, various masks strewn about, broken. Shenhe set you down letting you looked around.
“I use this camp as my training grounds. Unfortunately they stopped trying to claim this area. But we should be aboe to take shelter in here.” She said. You were surprised by how nice it looked. Hay bedding, animal skins. You could easily make a bed with this. The roof did leak but it would do.
“I still think we could find somewhere better. The rain isn’t so ba-“ you were startled back into her arms as lightning struck not too far away. “Okay lets go inside..” you started to bunch up the hay together into a nest almost. Shenhe watched with curiosity.
“What is that for?” She asked.
“I’m making a bed. You can join if you would like. Its good to keep warm.” You said, bringing the animal skins to use as blankets. She joined you as you two cuddled in the makeshift bed.
“It is quite warm actually. You’ve done well.” Shenhe’s praise had you beaming with pride.
“Ah thank you… you don’t have to be so close you know?” You said.
“Do you want me to move away?” She seemed confused.
“Actually its fine. I don’t mind it.” You said.
“I’m getting rather tired.. you’re quite warm actually.” Shenhe pulled you in closer catching you off guard.
“O-oh. That’s good. I think we can take a rest. So long as No hilicurls come by.”
“They won’t. I laid out those masks to warn them not to come back. Its been months since any have returned.” She mumbled. “I should move them then. They make for good practice.”
“Lets not talk about murdering hilichurls right now please?” You asked.
“Right… so.. do you sleep outside often? You seem to know what to do.”
“No but I know that the barn cats use the hay in my family’s cellar for their bedding. I figured it must be comfortable.”
“You were right. This is quite nice.. I can imagine this bed would make many cat’s comfortable.” She said. You smiled at her imagination.
“Thank you.. I think… i may rest my eyes for a bit.. the sound of the rain outside is luring me to sleep, but im still nervous.”
“I’ll keep watch then. You get some rest.” She said. You smiled resting your head on her chest.
Zhongli
You were traveling with Zhongli, a funeral consultant on your way to Chenyu valley. But you two ran into a problem…
“I didn’t know it could rain like that here!” You felt spooked as you clung to the much taller male. “I just hope it doesn’t start to thunder ei-“ on cue lighting struck the bridge right infront of you.
“Lets find shelter then. Stay close to me. We don’t want to get separated here of all places.” His eyes scanning across the landscape. He spotted a cave and immediately pointed. “There. We should find some shelter there.”
You two quickly retreated into the cave, you silently thanked rex lapis that caves were abundant in this area.
“Lucky for us, there isn’t anyone else here.” He said as you two came in deeper. Finding it empty and relatively dry.
“I-its a shame we can’t make a fire. There isn’t any wood in here..” you lament. “I’m cold.”
“There seems to be a bit of a coal deposit here actually.” He said, poking at what just looked like a splot on the wall. “Here, I’ll retrieve it.” Using his Geo abilities he was able to crack some out of the wall. Putting it in s pile as you watched with fascination.
“You’re very well versed in rocks for a funeral director. Is it your geo vision or just your knowledge.” You asked.
“A mix of both, I’m quite well versed in the topic yes, but my vision does help.” He said. “Now we can use two rocks to make a spark.. we should be careful as coal leaves alot of smoke.” You took two stones and rubbed them against each other, looking to make a spark. It worked and a small flame started to grow.
“Excellent. We’ll stay here until the weather dies down.” You said, instinctively sitting next to him, leaning on him. He seemed a bit surprised. “O-oh sorry i didn’t mean to-“
“Oh it’s quite alright. It might help to cuddle for warmth. I hope you don’t mind.” He said politely.
“I-i don’t mind.” You said. His hand wrapped around you, not too tight but not to loose either. It felt rather nice like this. Your cheeks were tinted with red as he pressed himself against you.
“Are you comfortable right now?” He asked. You nodded. Maybe you should consider traveling with him a little more.
Kaeya
“You do know you’ll need more firewood than that.” Kaeya teased as you attempted to start a fire. You sighed.
“Then get some. Don’t just sit here and look pretty.” You grumbled as you rubbed the sticks together. He chuckled.
“Right right. And it was you who insisted they didn’t need a second jacket.” He smiled, you wore his cloak as he had offered it earlier.
“Well I didn’t expect us to stay the night here.”
“You should know a trip to dragonspine isn’t a one day venture. But with that out of the way, I’ll get some firewood.” He said leaving briefly. Just as he left you got the fire going. You smiled.
“See! I told you i could- oh right.” You said. Feeling his absence quickly. You huddled by the fire as you waited for him to come back.
It felt like he was gone forever when he finally came back. Arms full of firewood.
“Miss me?” He said as he noticed the frozen tears on your cheeks.
“No.. just come over here… you’re probably cold..” you said. Patting the ground besides you.
“Oh now you want to cuddle.” He smiled as he took your offer. Setting the firewood aside.
“You scared me you know..” you said.
“Well I just wanted to gather as much wood as possible. That way we can make it through the blizzard. These blizzards can last very long you know?” He snickered as you jolted.
“Don’t scare me like that!” You grumbled.
“I’m not trying to scare you. Just preparing you for the worst. Don’t worry, we have plenty of rations. And this fire is quite strong. You did a good job.” He smiled drawing his hand across your shoulder.
“Thanks..”you grumbled. You scooted closer to him as you felt a chill run down your spine. “I can’t wait to get out of here.”
“You’re cute when you’re grumpy like this. But you do realize we still haven’t made it halfway to Albedo’s office right?” He said. You stared at him with a look of defeat.
“Ugh! I’m never going to make it!” You whined.
“Oh you’ll live.” He chuckled. “I’m here afterall. I’ll drag you up that mountain if I have to.”
“Well… I guess its good I have you then. I’d probably be dead by now if I went by myself.”
“Oh please, Jean would never send a new night here alone. But your gratitude is appreciated.” He smiled.

Self Aware AU (Sylus)
Summary: You have the lowest Affinity with Sylus. The reason is because he is a red flag. As red as his eyes. Spawn of the devil. Unless, he is actually not as evil as you label him to be. Does this change something in you? Yes? No? Maybe so?

*Chirp* *Chirp* *Churp*
You stirred from the dreamless land. Getting to sleep not enough hours before the orange light seeps through your curtains.
Reaching for your phone to look at the time. Hand meet air, flailing about. Your night stand was gone. One eye opened to see your living room's table.
Feeling a bit groggy, you moved your body.
Yup.
This surface was definitely not your bed.
You sat up lazily on the sofa. Head turning around in search of your phone. You stood up. Feet landing each step with silent notion towards where you inner consciousness told you too.
There it was. Smitten to your floor. You sighed. Last night was intense. You've never felt so unattached to the ground much like last night.
Last night...
You had crawled your weak self to the nearby comfort. The sofa. You latched yourself on it as you slowly climbed it. Your heart was not thundering. But your body was screaming. Out of shock, perhaps.
Sleep didn't come as fast as you wanted it to. You curled on yourself, small enough to resemble a cushion. You breathe the night air mixed with the smell of your freshner.
Time ticking, only got you to finally will yourself to succumb to the darkness. At least you did sleep.
In the present, you already massaged your forehead as you walked off to get the broom and the scooper.
"Good thing I have an extra phone. She told me she uninstalled the accursed game from it... Good."
You took the main body carefully then sweep the scattered parts. The broken phone safely on your table as you calmly went about your day to freshen yourself up then settle your work for today.
+--------------------------------+---------------------+
*Click* *Click*
The mouse glided. Data transfer will be done in three hours, give or take.
You huffed out in relief.
"I didn't know I could throw it like that." You said as you smooth your other finger on your trusted phone.
Broken because of some red-eyed unrealistic man in a game.
"You are the red flag to me after all."
Standing up, you let your tense muscles relax from the anxiety of losing all of your data, glad that mostly were salvageble. The kitchen was at the back of your mind to aile your parched throat. Possibly your empty stomach too.
*Ding* *Dong*
Confusion etched on your face as you stop your track to the kitchen. Head in the general direction of the front door.
"Did I order something?"
From the peephole, there's a delivery crew standing at the front gate with a small box. The person just stood there with the cap obstructing their face.
Usually they just leave it there after taking a picture. But this one didn't.
Another one, the same attire and face obstructed, came from the driver seat of the van. They seemed to be discussing something before writing some notes. Carefully and intricately passing the box one hand to another to put the box in the vicinity of your house without actually entering through your gate.
Impressive.
But still suspicious.
They took a picture and drove off.
You carefully step out. Reaching the box. Stared it down as if it wasn't low enough on the ground.
+------------------------------+---------------------+
Thank you for your service as a beta tester for the game. Here is some token of appreciation from us.
Again and again you read the piece of note stuck on top of the box. Your lunch buddy for today, it seems. You munched your food without breaking eye contact.
You couldn't even confirm it given the situation you're in.
"Let's just play along for now. Got nothing to lose anymore."
You peeled the note. A phone picture depicted the content of the box. Coincidence? You sighed. It was one of the phones designed to cater for gaming, you note. Look simple but could pack a punch.
*zwing*
The start up looks rich.
+-----------------------------+-----------------------+
"OH, HECK NO!"
You saw it. The accursed game.
You were enjoying going through the phone with all its features and apps when you saw it. Smirking at you like someone you know.
You grumbled since it's kind of logical to have THE game installed when the phone was given to you because of your service to them.
BUT!
Is it wrong to get a nice phone WITHOUT it?
"I'll uninstall it."
None. You scroll. None. There's no prompt that notifies you that you can uninstall it. It was built-in.
Okay. That's IT.
You logged into the game.
Ready to spew your wrath.
Fishie. Sleeping on the sofa.
You looked at it blankly. Everything looks normal. You tapped your routine. Nothing was out of place.
Your anger disipate.
"Maybe I should take a day off or two for a nice trip to reset my tired mind."
You sighed as you exit the game.
+-------------------------+-------------------------+
A low chuckle escaped.
Tumblr media
"Perfect timing. So do I, sweetie."
He tapped his phone a few times before pocketing it.
"Let's end this little game of cat and mouse between us. Fortunately for you, I'm a crow who always watches over his kitten. Not a single mouse will be present between us."
He smiled.
The night has just begun.

SSR Jack Howl - Room Relaxation Vignette
"Happy Birthday"
Tumblr media
[Sports Field]
[tup, tup, tup]
Jack: Pant, pant… I could really feel the burn on those last 20 meters.
Jack: What's my time…? Oh, not bad. I'll have to remember this feeling for next time. Alright, guess it's time to stretch and head back to the dorm.
Riddle: Are you doing solo practice after your club activities once again? You sure are diligent, Jack.
Jack: Oh, Riddle-senpai. When you say "again" like that… did you already know that I always stay behind longer?
Riddle: Well, when the Equestrian Club ends our activities for the day and leave the stable for our respective dormitories, we do pass by the field.
Riddle: I've spotted you running by yourself many times before. Are you training for a meet of some kind?
Jack: Ah, actually, recently my times have been fairly stagnant, so I've been trying to adjust my running form.
Jack: Nothing I was doing was really working… But I think I've really started to figure out what I need.
Jack: For now, I plan on heading back to my dorm and, starting tomorrow, I'll focus on working on my newest running posture.
Riddle: A good decision. It would not do for you to injure yourself by overworking.
Riddle: Besides, a student's priority should be their studies. Passion is well and good, however you would do well to not neglect your studies.
Jack: No need to tell me twice. I don't plan on neglecting my practice nor my studies whatsoever.
Jack: I made it here to Night Raven College, after all. I'll put forth even more effort so I can achieve even more.
Jack: Even if it's the day before my birthday, I'll have to continue doing my best… No, I'll have to do even better than my best.
Riddle: Oh, is your birthday tomorrow?
Riddle: Then I'm sure there's much for you to prepare. It would be rude of me to continue to keep you, so I'll leave you now.
[Riddle walks off]
Jack: Eh…? Oh, sure. Thank you, Riddle-senpai.
Jack: …Did I just say out loud that it's my birthday tomorrow? I hope he doesn't think I'm excited about it, or anything…
Jack: Ughhhh. Nah, it's no good worrying about something that's already done! Time to stretch!
Tumblr media
[Savanaclaw Dorm – Jack's Room]
Jack: Whew… I feel much better after a shower. Guess it's time to finally get to my homework.
Tumblr media
[Savanaclaw Dorm – Jack's Room]
Jack: Guess that's enough of reviewing today's lessons. I gotta put my homework in my bag before I forget, too…
[Roommate A speaks up]
Jack: … Huh? You wanna copy my homework before I put it away? I didn't work on it to help you guys out, why would I show it to you, anyway?
[Roommate B talks back]
Jack: You don't know the answers? Well, that's your fault for not listening during class. Don't come begging me for scraps.
Jack: Ugh, look at 'em, all grumbling over something stupid. Anyway… I guess I just have "that" left to deal with before going to bed.
「Survey on Quality of Life Improvements for the Student Body」
Jack: So they're looking for campus life improvements, huh. Well, there's the fact that some can be irritating just because they're a year or two older…
Jack: But it's not like the academy can really do anything to help improve personal problems. So, I guess…
Jack: I know I'd like it if they could do something about the rule that freshmen must live 4 to a room.
Jack: It's stressful enough having to share a small room with someone else, let alone 3 other people.
Jack: I can't wait for next year. Sophomores live 2 to a room, so it should be way better than right now.
Jack: There'll be more space in the room then… And I'll be able to find more sunlight for my cacti as well.
Jack: Even though I was able to beat the others to the spot that would provide the most light back when I first got here…
Jack: It's still not enough. Compared to the rooms reserved for the upperclassmen, it's still not as bright here, so I have to take extra care of the little guys.
Jack: Cacti are just like humans in that they don't do well if they don't get enough sunlight.
Jack: …That reminds me of back home for some reason. When winter comes, I always see people here and there sunbathing.
Jack: As a kid, I thought they were just lazy, and couldn't figure out why they'd want to just lounge out under the sun…
Jack: When I learned that there were health-related reasons behind it, I was both surprised and impressed.
Jack: It's not like I've been lacking any chances to be out under the sun ever since I've come to Sage's Island…
Jack: But if I could have a room big enough to roll out a rug, it might not be so bad to lay out and sunbathe on it a bit.
Jack: Alright… I've finished filling out the survey, so I guess it's time to sleep.
[roommates chattering]
Jack: Hey! You guys are being way too loud. How long're you gonna be at it?
Jack: You all better go to sleep right at lights out tonight… 10PM is bedtime! Don't keep me awake!
Tumblr media
Jack: …Yeah, like those guys'll listen to what I say.
Jack: I should go back to the survey and ask for a canopy bed… Or maybe a partition.
Jack: Sleep is important for me to build my muscles… So I can't have them keeping me up… Yaaawn…
Tumblr media
[Savanaclaw Dorm – Jack's Room]
[alarm blaring]
Jack: …Mm, is it morning already? Welp, then. First things first after waking up…
Jack: There's no question about it. TIME TO REPLENISH QUICKLY WITH SOME PROTEIN!!
Jack: I need to gain back all the nutrients I lost while sleeping. I'll swing by the kitchen for a protein drink and then head towards the washroom.
Tumblr media
[Savanaclaw Dorm – Washroom]
[splash, splash]
Jack: Whew… No one's awake at this time, so it's nice and quiet here.
Jack: …Man, no matter how I look at it, my hair is tousled into a real mess. This happens every morning, sure, but…
Jack: Since I have thicker hair, it's so hard to tame the bedhead. Ah, tsk, there's even some pillow marks on my ears.
Jack: Well, I guess I'll just start with wetting the roots of my hair and then use the dryer while pulling the strands back…
[blow-dries hair]
Tumblr media
Jack: Once the unruly strands are tamed, I'll comb it… Good, it's more or less better now. If I don't do this first, it ends up taking longer in the end.
Jack: I've tried a bunch of different hair products, but I ended up liking this wax the best.
Jack: Hair gel might be better to keep the shape, but it gets too stiff and takes too long to wash out.
Jack: Only using wax means that my hairstyle starts to lose its hold around evening time, but all I need to do for that is to just fix it up in the afternoon.
Jack: Nice, that looks good. All that's left is to spray it a bit…
[sprays hair]
Tumblr media
Jack: Normally I won't use it 'cause I don't like it to get on my ears, but I want to make sure I look spot on today of all days.
Jack: As for makeup… Nah, I'll go without, like usual. I'd like to look good, but I don't want to get all dolled up or anything.
Jack: I'll just use my normal sunscreen. Can't say I really like how it feels on my skin, though…
Jack: But I remember the first time I ever went skiing by myself and the pain I went through when I forgot to apply sunscreen.
Jack: The way I got burned by the sun reflecting on the snow and I had to live with the embarrassment of the goggles leaving that imprint on my face… Augh, I don't even want to think about it again.
Jack: But thanks to that, I finally understand why my parents wouldn't shut up about not forgetting to put on sunscreen.
Jack: Looks like there's a bunch I'm able to understand more as I grow up, like that whole sunbathing thing. Guess that's another reason why it's fun to grow older.
Tumblr media
[Savanaclaw Dorm – Jack's Room]
Jack: Alright. Now that I look presentable, I think I'll stretch out my muscles to prep for morning practice.
Jack: Phew… This old chair they supplied the room with really comes in handy for stretching.
Jack: Right after we got grouped together, none of us wanted it so we kept trying to shove it onto each other, but that was just a pain to deal with, so I kept it…
Jack: It's hard, sturdy, and it doesn't wobble so easily. Plus, the size is just perfect for someone of my height.
Jack: Next, I'll step onto the seat and… I guess I'll look over my class notes while I stretch, as usual.
Jack: I think we were on this page of the textbook for Magical History…
Jack: "The following year, the ancient incantations that were inscribed on the cave walls were successfully deciphered. The gathered mages then attempted to speak the ancient incantations…"
[Roommate B complains]
Jack: …Huh, what, I'm too loud? My voice woke you up? Well, good timing, the sun's almost up. Get up, already!
Tumblr media
[Main Street]
Jack: Urk, is that who I think it is over there…? …Good morning, Riddle-senpai.
Riddle: Good morning, Jack. Have you finished with morning practice already?
Riddle: Happy Birthday. That's all I came here to say.
Jack: …Of course it was about that. Sorry to be a bother about it. I didn't mean to let it slip yesterday…
Riddle: Heh, you're no bother. We may be of different dormitories, however it is the duty of us upperclassmen to support our underclassmen.
Riddle: You should continue to do your utmost. …Of course, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that.
Jack: Yes, sir! I'll keep on improving!

leaving on wild charted waters [pt.4]
(what if our mc got tired of Night Raven College and all it's inhabitants?)
(what if our beloved mc has...(voluntarily) been helping with decorating for the ball that will be happening in the next few days!?)
(just a “filler” chapter but it's just pure fluff and our mc having a great time with their new RSA friends + fleshing out some RSA students that I may use in future chapters/will get back to angst but as many of you know: our mc needs to be happy!
p.s Neige is actually a nice person in this series, he just doesn’t mean to come off as fake. I just wanted to write a nice version of the character for this!)
(fluff/splash of angst but it's very short)
the ball: part 1
you couldn't be more relaxed. you are currently chilling with your new friends and Rielle on the same shore you stepped your shoes in on your first day here. you all decided that after a long day of studies, activities, and fun ballroom decorating that it'd be a great idea to just relax beside the waters with everyone having each of their favorite snacks and drinks.
you and your friends were quiet since all you could all do was take in the refreshing sea air and the feeling of the breeze kissing your faces, the sound of the water sloshing and splashing also added to the calm ambience of the scene, and of course it wouldn't be complete without the screech of a seagull or the cute chirps of birds. I just can't forget to mention the same beautiful sunset that came upon your first day here also appearing in this exact moment, it really did always take your breath away. 'god, nothing could beat this view' you thought.
you noted how this time when you volunteered to help out with ballroom decorating, that no one actually ever left you on your own or ditched you. everyone did their part, some mishaps here and there, but it wasn't anything none of you could fix. you actually felt as if the work was much less with everyone actively doing their job and not slacking off or disappearing when they have the chance... these guys actually sticked by you and didn't let you down in the slightest. it was as if a splash of the freshest water just hit your face and took off a lot of stains that you had from NRC.
you all reveled in the moment until someone finally spoke up, "today was no joke." your friend, Alex Underlan, spoke in an exasperating tone as he laid with his arms and legs spread as if he's about to make a snow angel in the sand. "it felt as if this day would never end."
the next to speak was Neige Leblanc "we did take awhile to set up the decorations for the ball. thankfully we managed to finish just in time before the setting sun left!" he spoke with a smile as he looked up to see his little blue bird friends sitting comfortably on his hat. "we have to admit we did do a pretty good job on the decorating."
Chenya, an acquaintance from NRC and now very good friends with in RSA, stretched his limbs out in the sand with a loud yawn "beats me, I'm just glad that the hard part is over and we can now nap like kittens!~..."
"I agree with Neige though, we did do a pretty great job with decorating! along with the help of our fellow animal friends too it made the whole thing a bit more hectic yet fun." Rielle chirped in "I do have to admit-- Raps and _____ did an amazing job painting the ceiling and walls for the occasion! it's like those really detailed murals from waaay back then!"
Raps then replied with a bit of a sheepish smile "aww thanks Red, but obviously I wouldn't have been able to get it done in time with my favorite assistant _____ here!--" Raps shook your shoulder gently with the entire group chuckling with each other.
"hey! I'm your only assistant!" you replied with a light giggle "Raps I seriously have no idea how you're not afraid of falling from such a height-- you have immense trust in your hair." you paused " but then again i was hanging onto your hair while painting-- so I actually can tell why you have immense trust in your hair." you all just fell into a fit of laughter together in harmony at the hilarious memory of you freaking out a bit while clinging onto your friend's hair over how high you were to then feeling confident and relaxed while painting the ballroom walls and ceiling with Raps.
after you all calmed down the excitement for the ball started rising in your chest once again "honestly... i'm so excited for the ball. mostly because it's the one ball where I most likely won't have to deal with any people that have underlying personal issues that I have to deal with." you let out an almost happy sigh.
Chenya snickered, knowing well what that referenced to "nahh, no overblots here. don't remember there ever being one since I first came to this rabbit hole." he then closed his eyes as to take a light cat nap.
"me either!" chirped in Neige "but no need to fret or fear, in case an issue does come up we won't ask you to have to take care of it for us. with what you've told us you have seemed to have gone through so much already--" he spoke this next part more lowly " I should've... noticed it back when the VDC event was happening..." Neige sulked a bit but then gave you a small smile "I'm just glad you still came all this way to give RSA a chance _____!.."
"thanks Neige, that's actually... very kind of you to say." you smiled back as one of Neige's little blue birds landed on one of your knees and chirped a small song for you.. how cute and charming. "actually back then at the VDC event I honestly thought you were probably hiding under some super cute and friendly facade but turns out that it's really just you being naturally kind and well... friendly!" almost everyone either choked on their drinks or giggled, basically all collectively agreeing that everyone else thought that too in the beginning of meeting Neige at some point.
Neige paused a bit and looked at you with wide eyes and a genuinely confused smile, processing what you just said as he let out a very confused "huh?--"
"Raps Belleflowe!"
a loud interrupting and snarly voice boomed from behind the group of six, so loud it caused the little birds that rested on you and Neige to fly away! you all simultaneously turned to look at the tall and dark figure with voluminous black curls awaiting for one of you.
Raps sighed in immense disappointment as he packed up any snacks he had out back in his satchel, now looking all gloomy. "well- I'll see you guys tomorrow!.."
Chenya then turned to look his long haired friend with an almost disappointed look too "leaving so soon blondie? not staying over to grab some full grub with us?"
Raps shook his head "ahh...not today guys! maybe next time--" he was about to walk out before he quickly faced the group who all groaned in disappointment together " hey how about to make up for it I treat you all to lunch at school!" everyone still seemed disappointed yet each still gave Raps a thumbs up at his idea.
you all watched him scurry to his father who seemed to be less than pleased, almost scolding him before they both walked seemingly back to the dorms.
"I don't like Raps's dad... always gave me the heebie jeebies, keeps Raps from us outside of school-related stuff, and always gives me low scores on my biochem tests!..." Alex grumbled as he looked up at the sky.
"he is an intimidating individual.. but he seems to be very attentive to Raps and always seems to help him with all the countless hobbies he has!.." Neige tried to seem a bit positive, but he does agree with Alex on the first two things.
"a bit too attentive, I know a helicopter dad when I see one." Rielle huffed before he yawned. "well let's get a meal before we all head our separate ways and sleep like sleeping beauty."
Chenya and Alex both seemed to agree very much with this idea with how quickly they both to stood up in a weirdly comedic way.
you chuckled at this "guess we don't have to tell you two twice."
Alex laughed at your comment "you really don't!"
while the other three got up Neige gently tapped on your shoulder before you got up as well. "hey _____! if you don't mind-- could we take a photo together for my Magicam? I've posted photos with everyone except you, and I wouldn't want to leave you out!" he gave you these puppy dog eyes as he asked, you couldn't help but chuckle at this and nod.
"of course Neige, I'd love to be in your Magicam." you spoke before a bright smile grew on his face and you both set up a pose together in front of his phone's camera.
"1...2..!" and right when he was about to say three he clicked on the camera button and now he has a memory of you two! he looked over the photo "look at us! we look great!"
you nodded in agreement, genuienly impressed with how good you two looked "huh!.. we really do don't we!"
you both giggled together before a loud and sharp 'ahem!' interrupted you both. both pairs of eyes looked up to see all three of your standing friends waiting for you.
Chenya groaned "let's get going slow pokes! Im starting to mistake Alex's stomach growls to that of a lion's roar." the cat tittered before Alex gasped and punched him on the arm, not hard enough to actually hurt him.
"no they do not! fleabag.." Alex sneered.
"awwe! that hurt, blondie #2..." whined the cat.
the rest of you three lightly laughed at the scene before you as Neige and yourself got up together. once the two wrapped up their play fight you all as a group started walking to the nearest shop for a quick meal.
guess you didn't realize that with Neige posting the picture of you two later on in the day that it'd rise hell onto the campus of Night Raven College-- unbeknownst to all of you.
(really short compared to other parts but next chapter will be when the actual ball will happen and all the silly funzies stuff too. as mentioned once again this chapter and the next are basically just fluff and "filler" and to flesh out most of mc's new friends +adding sprinkles and splashes of angst here and there to at least keep it interesting!)

The Past - John Marino
Tumblr media
Summary: The timeline of John and Tori's relationship
notes: This is like a prequel to 'Done Trying!' You don't have to read this part, but it gives background on John and Tori's relationship. How they got to where they are in the fic now. The part after this will be a continuation of 'Done Trying' so look for that in the next few days. Also, I do not want to hear any negative criticism about how I've written her depression. I have depression myself and this is how it manifests for me. It's different for everyone, so I don't want to see any hate. Your experience may be different than mine, but every mental health experience is valid.
content: angst, fluff, unplanned pregnancy, break ups, anxiety issues, arguments, birth (not super graphic), mentions of sex but no actual smut, depressive episode, body image issues, mentions of abortion
2019
Tori wasn't drunk by any means, just a bit tipsy. Her fake ID had worked and she was enjoying her night out with her friends. The bar wasn't particularly busy, but the girls were managing to make it feel like a party.
The group of girls all turned to look at the door as a group of rowdy men entered. They were all cheering loudly and patting each other on the back.
"Was there a hockey game tonight?" one of Tori's friends asked.
"I think so," she shrugged, downing the rest of her rum and coke. "I'm going to get another one."
"We'll be here!" one of the other girls giggled.
"Hi, could I have another rum and coke, please?" she grinned at the bartender.
"Sure thing," the man returned with the drink a few minutes later, placing it in front of her, "That'll be 6 dollars."
She reached into her back pocket, when a voice beside her stopped her, "I've got it."
She turned, looking at the man next to her. He was significantly taller than her five foot frame, with tan skin and unruly, dark curls he brushed from his eyes.
"Oh! Thank you," she grinned, taking her drink from the counter.
"I'm John."
"Tori."
"You come here often? Sorry, I know that's cliche as fuck."
"Ha! No worries, my friends and I come here some weeks. It seems your group of friends is making it a bit more lively."
"Hope we're not interrupting your night."
"Not at all. We were the only ones making noise before you guys showed up. You from around here?"
"I'm from Massachusetts. But I moved here for work. You?"
"Pittsburgh born and raised," she smiled, raising her glass up before taking a sip.
The couple continued talking for the rest of the night. Tori wasn't the hookup type though, so instead of going home with him, she gave him her number. Leading to a long line of dates, until he finally asked her out officially.
2020
The world had locked down. No more hockey. No more school. No more work. Tori had subsequently moved into John's apartment so that they would be able to spend time together during the pandemic.
"What're you making?" John asked, wrapping his arms around Tori's waist, tucking his face in the crook of her neck.
"Oatmeal cookies."
"Smells good, baby."
"How was your nap?"
"Relaxing. Would've been better if you were there."
"You know naps make me feel like shit."
"I know... but the bed feels so empty without you."
"God, you're cheesy," she grinned, lifting her hand up to run through his mop of curls. "You want me to trim these?"
"Mmm, not today. I like them long. Why? Do you not like them?"
"I love your curls, Johnny. So sexy."
He grinned, pressing a kiss to her neck.
"I'm going to play 'chel with the boys. Call if you need anything."
She nodded, turning back to rolling the cookie dough into perfect balls. She'd taken up baking during the lockdown. John kept telling her he was going to be out of shape for the next season if she kept it up, but he continued to taste test everything for her nonetheless.
Another month into the lockdown and Tori wasn't herself. She wouldn't leave bed, she was taking naps, and John could barely get her to eat. She claimed she was fine, but he didn't believe her in the slightest.
"Come on, baby. I made mac and cheese, your favourite," he tempted, sitting on the bed and running a hand through her matted hair.
"Not hungry."
"You've gotta be hungry. You haven't eaten since yesterday morning. And all you had then was a couple crackers."
"I'm not hungry. Let me sleep."
"You've been sleeping all day. Can you get up and take a shower for me?"
"Too tired."
"Tori, baby..."
She just rolled over, hiding her face in the duvet. He sighed, leaving the bedroom and going to eat the food he'd made... why let it go to waste.
"How's Victoria doing, love?" John's mom asked through the phone, worry lacing her voice.
"I can't get her to do anything except sleep. I'm trying, Mom. She just..."
"Do you know if she has a history of depressive episodes?"
"Yeah, one when she was in high school. But she said she learned skills to cope."
"Just be there for her, John. That's all I can suggest."
"Thanks, Mom."
Two hours later, Tori emerged from the bedroom. She was wearing the same clothes she had been for days and her hair desperately needed a wash to rid it of grease.
"Hi, baby," John smiled softly.
"Hi. Will you come take a shower with me?" she whispered.
"Sure, but first can you just eat a few bites of the food I made?"
"I... I don't know."
"Please, Tori. Just so I know you're eating."
"Okay."
She sat on his lap, picking at the bowl of pasta in front of them.
"Five bites and we can take a shower."
"Okay."
It took her 20 minutes to take those five bites, but she did it. The couple stood under the hot water of the shower, embracing the time together outside of their room. John helped her wash her hair and brush out all the knots. She forgot how nice it felt to feel clean. She turned in his arms, squishing her face into his torso.
"I've got you, baby. I've always got you. I love you so much."
"I'm sorry, John," she sobbed, "I've been a terrible girlfriend."
"Shh, no you haven't. You're just struggling right now. It's okay. We'll get through his together."
"I love you. I'm sorry."
"No need to be sorry. I just want what's best for you. And rotting in bed isn't."
She leaned up and pressed a soft, loving kiss against his lips. When she went in for another one, he turned his head, her lips landing on his cheek.
"Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry," she cried again.
"No, no. I just... I'd feel like I was taking advantage of you. I love you so much, but I can't... do anything until you're yourself again. Okay?"
"Okay."
The next day, John helped Tori find a therapist online. Even going as far as to join sessions to learn how he could help her to help herself.
2021
Now that lockdown restrictions had been lifted slightly, Tori was thriving. She was going on daily walks and working on new coping skills to use when she felt that numbness creeping back in.
John was back to playing hockey and finally their lives had back some normalcy. A normalcy that had formed itself into a very... intimate love life for the two. There didn't seem to be a day that the two weren't having sex. Tori was pretty sure roadies were the only days they weren't falling asleep naked.
It was amazing, until it all came crashing down at the end of December. Tori had been feeling like shit for almost a week now. She felt sluggish and the sent of John before he showered after practice had her sick to her stomach. The idea of being pregnant though wasn't even a thought that crossed her mind. She had an IUD. They were safe. Surely it couldn't be...
"Do you want me to pick up a test, just in case? I know you said it's like almost impossible," John asked as he walked to his car at the arena.
"Sure, if it'll make you feel better. Pick up two, just in case one is faulty."
"Sounds good, babe. Be home in 20. Love you."
"Love you too, Johnny."
The couple stood in the bathroom, re-reading the instructions for the tests.
"I think it's self explanatory, John."
"I just want to make sure you're doing it right!" he swatted her hand away as she tried to grab the paper from him.
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes, sitting on the toilet with the stick.
"Yeah, just piss on it. Then we've gotta wait 5 minutes."
"Sounds good. You stayin' in here while I pee?" she giggled.
"I'll be right outside."
Peeing on the test was harder than she thought. It was like she couldn't get herself to pee, she was so nervous. After a couple minutes though, she'd put the caps back on and placed them on the counter.
"Come in, John. But I'm telling you, I'm not pregnant. Trusty old IUD keeps your sperm outta there."
"Maybe I've got really persistant sperm."
"I-" the timer rang. "You ready?"
"Yep."
At the same time, they flipped the tests, the plastic clattering against the sink as Tori dropped it.
"They- They must be faulty. False positive, right? Right, John?"
"I- is that a common occurance? I'll google it," he typed on his phone quickly, spelling half the words wrong, "There's less than a 1% chance of that, Tori."
"So? Maybe we're in that percentage. Did you even get good ones?"
"They were the most expensive ones! I just grabbed them!"
"They're wrong."
"Victoria..."
"Don't 'Victoria' me! They're wrong! I'm not pregnant! It's just a cold."
John rolled his eyes, "Can you at least go to the doctor? Get meds for your cold then."
"Fine! I'll make an appointment right now!"
"Perfect. I'm going to make dinner."
"I'm not pregnant," she whispered to herself as she typed in the number for her doctor.
"Is there any chance you're pregnant?" the doctor asked, staring into Tori's eyes.
"I have an IUD."
"I've seen it happen. Would you mind giving us a urine sample?"
Yay. Peeing into more things.
It didn't take long for the results to come back. The doctor entered the room holding a stack of paperwork.
"So, the urine sample came back positive for high levels of hCG. Which means you are pregnant."
"That's not possible."
"I know this is probably a lot to take in right now. I've written down some suggestions for a few OBs I reccomend. As well as some supplements we reccomend for the early stages of pregnancy. From the test, I'd say you're about three weeks."
"Shit. Um, sorry. Thank you. I'll, uh, call these numbers," Tori forced a smile, rushing off to get home.
"So? You are pregnant?" John asked, his eyebrow quirked.
"Yes. I just-"
"Okay."
"Okay? That's all you have to say?"
"What do you want me to say, Tori? 'Yay! I'm so excited to be a dad at 24!' Cause that'd be a lie."
"Stop acting like this is all my fault!"
"I never said that! I just... we've never even talked about having kids! This is all very sudden."
"How do you think I feel?! I'm the pregnant one! Now I have to tell all my friends and family that I got knocked up at 22!" she threw her purse down on the counter.
"You told me the IUD would work fine."
"Why are you blaming me? God, John! Grow up!"
"I should grow up?! You're the one yelling at me!"
"You're fucking infuriating!" she shouted, stomping off to their room. The door shut with a harsh slam, making the pictures on the wall swing.
"Fuck me," John muttered, grasping at his hair.
John slept on the couch that night, not wanting to deal with being yelled at again.
"We should talk about this, Tori," he offered at breakfast.
"Why? I'll just get the pregnancy terminated. You don't it."
"Tori... can we think about this? Make a rational decision."
"Why? Is getting an abortion not rational?"
"Not what I said. I just think you're still angry about yesterday, so you're not think rationally. We need to make a decision together here."
She rolled her eyes, "You made it clear how you feel."
"Did I?"
"Yeah, I think your words were 'I'm not excited to be a dad at 24!' So, there's our answer. You won't have to be," she sassed.
"Victoria, sit down."
"You're not my fucking dad."
"Stop acting like a child! Sit down!"
John rarely yelled at Tori, so the tone of his voice had her sitting right back down.
"Thank you. Listen, I'm not thrilled to be a dad right now, but I'm not telling you to end the pregnancy. I- we can make this work. I want you to make the final decision, but I won't be leaving if you decide this is what we're doing. I love you. And I support whatever decision you make. I will love that baby unconditionally."
"I... I need time to think about everything," she nodded, her lips pursed.
"I understand. But I really don't want to continue this arguing. I want us to enjoy our trip to Massachusetts. Not dwell on this and see our family."
"Okay, I have another appointment in January. You can come... if you'd like. I don't want to tell our families yet."
"Of course... I love you."
She sighed, "I love you too. No more fighting?"
"No more fighting," he nodded.
2022
Tori knew that nobody in the waiting area was judging her, but she felt judged. Her leg was bouncing, her nerves getting the best of her. She was filling out the paperwork that they'd given her. John placed a comforting hand on her thigh, trying to calm her.
"They're removing the IUD today. I don't know if you wanna be in there when they do it."
"I'll stay for moral support."
"Are you sure?"
"Why not," he shrugged.
Tori opened her mouth to respond when her name was called.
"Is your boyfriend coming with us today?" the nurse smiled.
"Yes, if that's okay."
"No problem! The doctor will be right in. We're going to start with the IUD removal. So if you could just strip from the waist down, she can get started."
"Do you want me to turn around?" John asked, taking a seat on the chair in the corner.
"No? Nothing you haven't seen before."
She sat down, throwing the sheet they'd.given her over her legs.
"Nervous?"
"A bit. It hurt to get in. People say it's worse coming out."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Want me to hold your hand?"
"That'd be nice," she smiled.
There was a knock at the door, "We all ready in here?"
"Yep. Come in."
"Hi, Victoria! I'm Dr. Reese. It's nice to meet you!"
"Hi. This is my boyfriend, John."
"Nice to meet you as well! We're going to start with the IUD removal, then we can start chatting about baby. Sound good?"
"Yeah. Is it okay if John holds my hand?"
"Of course! Alright, scooch, scooch. Perfect. Take a deep breath for me."
Tori inhaled, squeezing John's hand. Her eyes screwed shut. A pained breath escaped her mouth. Even John squinted, watching as the doctor pulled on the little strings.
"And done!"
"Thank God," Tori whispered.
"I'll step out! You can throw your clothes back on and I'll be back in a minute with the ultrasound machine."
"You ready?" Tori asked John, buttoning up her jeans.
"Yeah," he shrugged, sitting back down.
John and Tori had discussed things the day before. They were keeping the baby. It was an emotional discussion. Talking about the logisitcs of the whole thing. Especially with her still in school and John playing hockey.
"Ready to see baby?" the doctor smiled brightly.
"Yeah."
"Mhm."
"Alright. I warmed up the gel, it shouldn't be too bad," Dr. Reese moved the wand over Tori's lower abdomen. "And here is baby."
It looked like a little blob, but it still made John's eyes water.
"So, you're about 6 weeks. Measurements look good. I'll want to see you again around 18-20 weeks. You can schedule that on your way out. Congratulations, again."
"You alright, babe?" Tori asked, noticing how quiet John had gotten.
"Hm, yeah. I just... I didn't think I'd be this emotional. Especially over what looks like an alien."
Tori laughed, "Don't call our baby an alien!"
"I'm sorry," he giggled, wiping his eyes, "But it does look a little like an alien."
"Okay... maybe just a little."
The couple left the doctors' office laughing quietly to themselves, their hands intertwined.
Six Months Pregnant - May 2022
It was three in the morning and Tori was sobbing, "You don't understand, John. We're out of pickles."
"I heard you. I just... I don't understand why you're crying."
"I need pickles, John," she cried.
"I- I don't know where to get you pickles at 3am. Everything is closed."
Tori pulled herself out of bed, storming into the kitchen. She dug through the fridge and freezer, trying to find anything that would help her cravings. She pulled a bowl of watermelon out of the fridge, digging in.
John sluggishly joined her in the kitchen, wiping the sleep from his eyes.
"I'm sorry, baby. I'll get you pickles in the morning."
She just nodded, taking another forkful of melon. It wasn't as fulfilling was a jar of mini dill pickles, but it was helping. She couldn't even count how many jars of pickles she'd gone through during her pregnancy, but this was the first time they'd been out. It felt like the end of the world to her pregnancy hormones.
John loved Tori to bits, but the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy was beginning to make him tired. He knew it wasn't fair and that she was going through much more, but lord was he exhausted.
"Do you want me to stay here? Or should I go back to bed?"
She shrugged, shovelling more food into her mouth. John sighed, coming around the counter. He placed a hand on her waist and one on her growing stomach.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Do you want to go back to bed?"
She hummed, taking one last bite. They shuffled back to the bedroom, Tori hugging onto her pregnancy pillow. John fucking hated the thing, but Tori couldn't sleep without it, so... he'd deal with it for the next three months.
August 2022
John had just been traded from Pittsburgh to New Jersey and now... it was time for their baby to enter the world.
"Ah!" Tori gripped her stomach. She was walking around the hospital room, waiting to be fully dilated. John was being supportive as possible, getting her more ice chips when requested and holding her hand when ever she felt a contraction. "Is it time yet?"
"The nurse said it could be a while, because it's your first."
"It's going to be our only. Holy shit! Why did you do this to me?"
John laughed, "I'm sorry, baby. You're the strongest woman I know. You've got this. Do you want to use the yoga ball again?"
"No! I just want the baby out of me!"
"And they said that the yoga ball will help that."
"Fine," she groaned, squatting down on the blue yoga ball. John smiled, watching as she bounced up and down, her cup of ice chips in her hand.
"They'll be back with the epidural soon. Then it'll be smooth sailing," he comforted.
10 hours later and she was finally pushing. She was squeezing John's hand so tight he thought it might break. But he tried to be supportive nonetheless.
"One more big push, Mama," the doctor smiled.
"I can't do it."
"You've got this, Tori," John whispered.
"I can't do it."
"Just one more push and our baby is here, love."
She braced, feeling the pressure one last time. She pushed and a wail filled the room.
"And here's baby boy."
"It's a boy?" John was smiling so wide, it hurt his cheeks.
"It is. Want to come cut the cord, Dad?"
He nodded excitedly, watching as they gave his son his first bath.
"Here you go, Mama," they placed the baby on her chest.
"Hi, baby," she was too tired to cry, but her son was so beautiful. He had a head of dark hair which explained the heartburn she'd had during the pregnancy.
"We'll be back in a bit to help you get him to latch. And then they'll be in with the name paperwork."
"Here," John smiled, unbuttoning part of her gown so she could do skin to skin.
"Riley."
"Hm?"
"Riley Alexander Marino."
"It's perfect, baby. Here, I'll hold him. You get some rest."
December 2022
Things were falling apart. The couple was arguing almost every day. Tori was struggling. She hated the way she looked and that feeling of numbness was starting to creep back in. But she wouldn't allow it, she needed to be there for Riley.
John was going through the hockey season and adjusting to a new team. He was barely home. And when he was, he was beyond tired. Not being much help at all. Night shifts were nonexisitant. It was always Tori getting up to get their son. John either "slept through it" or "was too tired from hockey."
Everything came crumbling down a week before Christmas.
"You're not any fucking help! Ever!" Tori yelled, throwing the burp cloth down on the counter. "I haven't left the apartment in days! I haven't been able to take a shower in days! All I do is take care of Riley!"
"Your his mom! Did you think you wouldn't have to take care of him?!"
"God! That's not what I meant and you KNOW it! Your his dad! When are you going to step up and actually do some fucking work?"
"I'm providing for us, Victoria! Would you rather I quit and we have no income?!"
"That's it. I'm leaving!"
"You're leaving?! Where are you going?"
"Anywhere that you aren't, John. I can't fucking deal with you right now. Call me when you've grown the fuck up and decide you actually want anything to do with your son," she stormed off to the bedroom, throwing things into a duffle bag.
"Victoria! You can't just leave! Talk to me!"
"I can leave! I can do whatever the fuck I want!"
"You- you can't just leave with Riley!"
"Sure, I can! Not like you parent him at all!"
"Victoria!"
"No! Fuck off!"
The screaming woke Riley from his nap and his wails soon filled the apartment as well.
"Great! Look what you've done!" John threw his hands up in frustration.
"What I did? You're so fucking immature. Stop acting like you're 12 and start acting like the 25-year-old you are!" Tori went to the nursery, grabbing some of Riley's things and putting them in the bag as well. She picked up her son, strapping him into his carrier. John was standing in the door, shell-shocked.
"Please, Tori. Just think about this. Please."
"No. I'll be back for more of our things in a couple days," she shook her head, leaving John all alone in the apartment.
March 2023
It was official. John and Victoria were done. Tori had gotten her own place and Riley went to see John every weekend. Slowly but surely, John and Tori were forming a friendship. They wanted things between them to be good for Riley.
And this friendship leads us to where we are now...

Vampire Captures Vampire Hunter to Use as Bloodbag part 37
Warnings: weak human pet, vampire carewhumper, recovery whump, hostile pampering
I decided to go ahead and post several new parts today because I'm super excited to reveal more of the plot LOL. So you guys get extra writing today!
…But nothing could have prepared him for what awaited when Alex finally shooed him into a large room at the end of one hall.
The lights were dim, and Mallory realized it was because the whole room was lit by candlelight alone, more than a dozen laid out all across the floor in no particular order. Lavish furniture and displays lined the walls, long couches and antique wooden chairs and tables scooted haphazardly to the edges of the room to clear the center floor area where all the candles were, along with a fake fur rug. It was a fancy setup, and clearly expensive too -- the whole room was comfortably warm and filled with soft colors and gently-scented candles. Lavender, he recognized, along with several other strong herbal smells. He flinched when a voice spoke right behind him, momentarily forgetting the vampire he was with.
"I know you're still a bit sore and weak from when I attacked you after your escape attempt, so... I did some research, and this is supposed to help humans feel better through 'Aromatherapy' and 'meditation' along with some other reasons I didn't read. I also got some muscle-soreness cream that apparently takes away the ache. Don't... Don't take it the wrong way though, I'm not trying to pamper you or anything. I'll still beat you up if it comes to it." Somehow, Alex’s threat sounded far less threatening than usual. Was Mallory imagining things?! Or was the vampire really trying to treat him better?
Mallory wasn't quite sure how to respond, staring dazedly at the candlelight dancing and flickering across the walls, mind whirring to understand the situation. He couldn't help marveling at all the work that had been put onto this single room. And Alex had really done all of it for him?
Not like he has anyone else around he'd do this for, Mallory mentally commented to himself.
He tracked every movement as Alex came around to face him, gesturing to the rug in the center of the room. “You can sit there for now – I’ve got something else for you first before we move on to the muscle cream.”
Mallory was too bewildered to argue, and robotically did as he was told, lowering himself onto the unbelievably soft rug and crossing his legs, candles surrounding him. A new scent hit his nose as Alex set a plate in front of him, a fancy meal with – garlic-based foods? Garlic bread with garlic sauces and so much more filled the plate up, making Mallory’s mouth water. But it also sparked confusion, and he glanced up at Alex in shock and surprise. “Uh, vampires aren't supposed to be able to be around garlic? Because of how toxic it is to your kind?” he said quizzically. It was common knowledge that vampires were repelled by garlic – so why was Alex serving it to him to eat? Wouldn’t it make his blood undrinkable or even kill him?
Alex surprised him by bursting out laughing, deepening his confusion.
“That's a lie.” He ruffled Mallory’s hair as if he were a dog. “Do you really believe that old tale?”
Mallory frowned at him, and Alex’s smile broadened with delight. “You’re in for a surprise then. We vampires intentionally created that rumor and let it spread among humans because it actually benefits us.”
“How so?” Mallory questioned.
Alex’s eyes were cold and dark in the candlelight. “Don’t you know? Garlic acts as a blood thinner. It relaxes blood vessels and makes blood flow more easily throughout the body.” He touched the tip of his tongue to one sharp fang. “So for a vampire like me? That makes it easier to drink – as well as adds a hint of delicious flavor to the feeding experience. The more humans that consume garlic in the name of ‘warding us off’, the better a feast bloodsuckers get. The whole thing about ‘wear garlic to deter vampires’ is a myth – it attracts us like flies instead.”
Mallory’s mind was reeling. How was that even possible?! His whole life he'd been told a useless lie!
(My unique theory about garlic is 100% backed by science in case anyone's curious. You can do an internet search about the properties of garlic if you're curious to know more! Garlic is a natural blood thinner. Lucky for vampires, I suppose!)
