If a person really loves you, they will have a hard time choosing whether to stay and fight for the relationship or just let you go because it's what you want. It’s between respect and what you want. 

Jaehyun wanted to lock you inside this apartment. He was planning to keep you like a thing that he loves for safe keeping. He wanted to make you stay, and not give you a choice anymore. He wanted to own you. He didn’t want to let you go. You’re not leaving his life. Not now. Not ever. 

That’s what Jaehyun wants. 

But Jaehyun loves you, that’s why he did not chose what he wanted to do. Jaehyun indeed loves you. You can see it in his eyes. Now that you’ve finally broke your silence and told him that you wanted to leave. And not just leave this place… you we’re talking about leaving his life. This life. For good. 

He was silent. He didn’t know what to say. But you can see in his eyes, he’s hurt. He even turned his back against you because he didn’t want you to see him cry. For Jaehyun hearing those words from you hurt. He wanted to hold you, stop you and grasp for every love that you have left for him. But he couldn’t. He was like a stone, he looked heartless on the outside for making you leave the room, but on the inside he was burning with want to make you stay. 

For three days, you waited patiently for his decision. And in those three days, Jaehyun was just gone. He wasn’t working, he didn’t attend any meetings, gone. Just gone. You packed your things as slowly as you can just so you could keep your calm composure.

And by the time he finally arrived, you knew that the day was today. You will finally leave and will be granted freedom. 

“I’m not going to try and win you back im not going to beg for you to stay. I want you to stay… but that’s not what you want “ 

He looked calm now you thought. He looked so tensed, mad and hurt the last time you were on the same room.

“But at least give me the chance to let you go properly in the way you deserved. Its the least I could do”

In the days he was gone, he did his best to think straight. He did his best to understand your part, why you want to leave and what good is this going to give you both? But to every question he asks himself, all answers just ends up putting you in good position. He can imagine you with a good life, perhaps leaving his life will give the peace he can’t give you. And besides… having a peaceful life was all you ever dreamed of. He has already become the villain in your life he can’t continue to do that.

You allowed him to help you pack.

You allowed him to drive you to your new place. 

You noticed he still wears his ring. 

You thought that this day would be awful, heavy and full of tears. But you can see right through Jaehyun that he made sure not to give you a hard time especially today.

“Hmm the place is small are you sure you dont want a bigger one?” You just gave him a look and shook your head no. 

Surprisingly Jaehyun looked like a normal person today. He still wears black though, all his tattoos are covered with thick clothing at least you get to see him like this one last time. Like a normal person. One without blood in his hands.

While you two were busy unloading your stuff, it was obvious that Jaehyun was taking his sweet time with you, he doesn’t normally move so slow like this, he even checked every inch of your new place and made sure you were safe. If you’re being honest… you’d kill to make time slower for this specific day. 

But after eating quietly at your empty living room floor, it snowed and the room became colder than it already is.

“Jaehyun I want to thank you for today,”he nods his head, looking at you straight in the eye while listening to every word you say, “You know where I live now. But please I hope you keep your word. Let me go” you just said that to avoid him spying on you. Who knows? 

He just nods.

“I hope you get to have warm nights now that I’m out of your life” Jaehyun said before finishing his beer.

“Im off now” He said with a cold tone. 

That night. You watched him get in his black car without even making a second look to you. He started driving the moment the car was ready to go. 

For almost 2 decades of being together. For the love you thought no one could ruin…. Everything went back to square one, on this cold and quiet day.

A year later 

Who would have thought that living a decent and innocent life would be something… so challenging. 

Challenging because now you realize killing someone just because you can… is not normal. It’s necessary and it can be avoided. 

You found a decent job at the library and youre a part timer at a convenience store… everything felt normal. You love it. Even if its boring.

“Well… you’ve been an assassin for far too long” Yuta laughs through the phone, “you should practice self reflection and do some meditating perhaps it could help you” Yuta suggests. 

“Hows Taeyong? Is the baking classes paying off?” You asked. 

“Yeah, surprisingly he bakes really good. But the guy is a perfectionist… nothing he makes make him happy” 

“Well tell him he’s doing a good job already” 

After that sweet call with your friend, you headed to your second job, a convenience store not too far from your place. It’s already 9PM, the person before your shift should be ready to head out. The job is kinda lonely, late hours can be so boring, but you figured its quiet. Plus you can eat peacefully, that’s what matters. Now that you’re alone,  eating peacefully with the food you made while looking at the window and watch the snow fall… 

You remember the night you and Jaehyun parted ways. You haven’t thought much about him. Youre lucky moving out goes hand in hand with moving on… but are you moved on officially?

Everyday, you come home and congratulate yourself for having a kind of life like this. A peaceful and quiet life.

He lost a lot of blood already but you knew better, of course you can’t call the hospital or the police. “Fuck Jaehyun what am I supposed to do?” But you come your senses and just did whatever you can. 

You removed the bullets, stitched him up, cleaned him and made sure that he’s not in pain. Of course… he never removed his wedding ring.

When the sun came out, you went out to see his car and parked it inside. It was full of bullet holes and it seems like he really got lucky last night. 

He slept the whole day, it was already sunset when he woke up. He saw you sleeping beside him and didn’t even have second thoughts about hugging you even though every part of him hurt. 

“What the fuck happened?” You asked gently. 

He can clearly remember how you held a knife on his neck the night he arrived. He just smiled. “Still an assassin, you still got it” he teased you. 

“That was just for protection you idiot— answer me what happened” 

“Well, a business meeting did not end well, what’s new?” He smirked as if he didn’t just almost died. 

“You need hospital by the way… can I call someone to pick you up?” You asked with concern. 

“So eager to get rid of me huh?” 

“No Jaehyun. I don’t know how to keep you alive— please. Call someone” 

“But I like it here… I seriously thought that I’m gonna die last night, and all I could think about is seeing your face again. I’d die happily” 

That explains the smile before he collapsed. 

It’s hard to reason out with someone in this state, especially with Jaehyun. So you left him and prepared for dinner. But Jaehyun as the hard headed man he is, got up with all his strength to be with you in your small kitchen. 

“I shouldn’t be here” he said weakly. 

You walked towards him and hugged him gently, thankful that he is indeed alive. But you have to understand that you cant keep coming back to what hurt you. 

“Stay for dinner, we’ll figure this out” 

That night, you two talked like you didn’t you didn’t grew apart for a year. You were still the comfort that he longs for and he’s not ashamed to show it. While he was talking he didn’t hide anything from you for he was sure that you will never judge him. He admitted that he’s not in great shape, business is not well, drugs was all he had when you left, and that he was depressed. “My father left me with gold, money and a legacy… but not a happy life y/n” he scoffed and finished his meal. 

 When he was fetched by his new assassins, it was harder to leave than he thought. He feels sick, he never wanted to leave your place ever again, just like the night he left you here for the first time. The night he let you go.

“I bet you’re disappointed in me. I promised to never disturbed you but here I am…” he says with weak eyes.

“You can always visit me Jae… but not this way” you joked and kissed him on the cheek. 

Little did you know that your invitation made him happy, a push to be a better man again. He didn’t want to face you again like this, broken,  an addict, lost. He wanted to be better. And so he stepped into his car with hope, with motivation, a better drive to live a new life and bring back the mighty Jaehyun. 

Months passed by and you find yourself thinking about Jaehyun again. Waiting for a sudden visit, waiting for him again. Maybe it’s because you heard his story now? That he ruined himself because he lost you, it’s not your fault of course, you’re not responsible. It’s his own doing and free will! 

But when your waiting has finally come to an end, Jaehyun surprised you in an unexpected way. 

It was night time you just got home from a tiring shift and you barely can’t keep your eyes open while doing your dinner. When the doorbell rang, it woke you up in an instant because…. Enemies To Lovers: G'Kar - This space lizard/marsupial can be grumpy and acerbic when needed, due to his position. I imagine that all it would take is one grumpy remark when the two of you first met to spark a long argument. G'Kar is not one to swallow his pride and apologize, so I could totally see this becoming a long argument that finally snaps one day in a lift. Naturally, both come out with rumpled clothing and puffy lips.

High so this was her a song that really blew up and it even has a remix with TINI and Lola indigo and in my personal opinion I think the original is better but regardless it was one of the first songs I heard from her so it will always have a place in my heart

Tú Me Lo Haces Fàcil I really like the music video for this one it’s very quarantine fashion and not to mention it’s just good to have on when you’re cleaning studying or really just anything  and I know it has a acoustic version somewheres on YouTube that is also good to check out 

Te Necesito so this is this song by khea featuring Maria and I love her vocals so much in this version of the song and the acoustic it’s definitely one of her shining moments when it comes to vocals so I was like this needs to be on the list

Mi Debilidad just another flawless song from her and this is one of those ones where I think you would get a better experience if you translate the lyrics since the song is talking about her weaknesses and things of that  nature

Ademàs de Mì remix so this is a song by Rusherking Tiago PZK LIT killah Duki Khea and Maria of course and I’m honestly surprised that this song didn’t make it onto my Spotify wrapped considering how many times I’ve listened to it but anyways I feel like this is one of those performances where her vocals aren’t paid as much attention to as they should be because yes everybody on this song sounds amazing but Maria just stands out for me along with Tiago because I think he brings a very unique voice to his projects that he’s on but I will say this is a bit of a longer song and a lot of people tend to not like these types of remixes so it’s understandable if you’re not into this song but since it’s one of my favorites I needed to recommend

AYNEA REMIX so this is a song done by FMK Beret along with maria and it’s a very vocal-based song so you can really hear how she can sing and the other two guys aren’t that bad on the song but I mainly just focus on her 

Rost yourself so in order to find this one you need to look up  Rost yourself maria becerra in YouTube and I don’t really know if I would consider this anything extraordinary vocal wise but I think to see that she does have range this is a good thing to check out

okay so first the FMK

Fuck- Conrad.  Yes please hold me with those arms and fuck  me right into the mattress.

Marry- Magnus.  Le sigh, my golden noodle boy.  If he is not hubs material, who is?

Kill- Sharpe.  I mean he is a murderer so... karma, but I would feel bad doing it.

Now for the story, this has not been asked before and I love the idea of it.....

So for Charlie, Adam hates a couple of things.  1) That she had the tendency to eat junk/garbage food.  But he is working with her and it gets better with time.  2) That she loves Top 40/bubblebum Pop music.  He finds himself humming Backstreet boys, Lizzo, Chainsmokers, and what not throughout the day.  3) It also drives him up the wall when Charlie puts herself down (although she has gotten way better thanks to Simone) or apologizes unnecessarily.

Now for Adam... Charlie hates that he never picks up his messes, ever.  It drives her crazy sometimes when he will wake up at all hours with inspiration and plays music, sometimes loudly.  And she gets really embarrassed the few times they go out and Adam insists on telling people what they are doing is wrong.  Usually hapless employees.  

I am certain there is more.  And there are probably more things that Adam and Charlie would say they hate about each other but secretly love.  But they can’t admit that to each other.  Ruins everything.

“Does this guy ever just… ya know, lay off? I swear, I’ve told him no at least four times this week and yet, here he comes.. Walking our way.” Scarlett gave a lazy eye roll and reclined back on her elbows, recrossing her legs as she let her eyes wander to the bonfire just a few feet down First Beach. 

It wasn’t a surprise that naturally, her gaze landed on Paul Lahote… Again. She’d bumped into him earlier in the afternoon and after a mutually long and awkward staring session, Jessica had finally managed to drag her away towards the boardwalk.

“You’re staring again, Scar.” Jessica pointed it out as she laughed softly.

“I’m not staring. He’s just pretty to look at.” Scarlett insisted, biting her lip and taking a deep breath before dropping her gaze.

“And apparently he thinks the same thing about you.” Jessica muttered, making Scarlett look up from her phone just in time to lock eyes with Paul again. When Mike Nelson cleared his throat from above her, she inwardly groaned and glanced away from Paul, who was starting to walk towards them, and as she cleared her throat, she glanced up at Mike, waving, giving her best neutral expression.

“Lemme guess… Bella’s off with her new toy?” Scarlett said it as mildly as possible, but honestly, she’d figured out this guy’s game about her second week of living in Forks and now she was just… Beyond done.

He was only into her because she was like a shiny new toy. When the new wore off, or if a certain girl named Bella happened to glance his way just once.. He’d be done.

“Nah, I just wanted to walk over and say hey. Something wrong with that, Scarlett?” Mike flopped down onto the sand next to her and Scarlett moved just a little closer to Jessica, the two girls sharing a look. Jessica’s gaze fixed on someone standing just behind Mike and naturally, Scarlett followed it, swallowing hard when her eyes got lost instantly in the depths of Paul’s dark brown eyes.

Paul cleared his throat, nodding to Scarlett and giving Mike a firm warning glare. His fists clenched at his sides and he shuffled his feet. This keeping calm shit was infinitely harder than the guys had been coaching him since earlier, when he’d managed to imprint on Scarlett.

“What’s up, man?” Mike flashed a grin and Paul shook his head, his jaw clenched. That wolf within was bursting at the seams to come bursting out because he’d scented her and he knew exactly how uninvited Mike Nelson was by his imprint right now. Even if he weren’t a shifter, he’d have known it. Was hard to miss the way she was practically trying to sit on Jessica’s lap just to escape the guy and his boundary issues. It set Paul on edge.

“I’d thank you for keepin my girl company, but honestly, I’m still tryin to figure out why the heck you’re still sitting here when it’s obvious you’re the last guy she wants to see.” Paul’s voice was deep, almost a low rumble and as the words left his mouth, he glanced at Scarlett just in time to see her bite her lip and twist a dark strand of hair around her fingertip as she eyed him.

“Easy, man. Scarlett’s my friend.” Mike turned to look at Scarlett who shrugged and muttered, “I barely know you, Mike.” mostly to herself. But Paul heard it and it only spurred him onward.

“You heard her, Nelson. Might wanna get lost now, maybe?” Paul eyed Mike expectantly, a smirk playing at his lips as he did so. 

“Yeah. I’m gonna go hang with the guys. If you wanna talk later, Scar… You know where to find me, yeah?”

“She won’t need to find you.” Paul said it abruptly, again with that same deadly calm smirk. His fists clenched just a little tighter, he could literally feel his skin tightening and he knew if Mike didn’t get bent, he was going to transform… And then, he thought to himself in a last ditch effort to calm down, then you’re gonna prove Uley right and you’re gonna be in a position where you can’t see Scarlett till you learn how to control yourself.

That smirk… It sent Scarlett’s pulse racing. And it made her pause, made her wonder if the ‘stories’ she’d been hearing about certain members of the Quileute tribe were true. She took a breath and felt her body immediately begin to unclench itself with Mike’s hasty retreat. Glancing at him for a second, she tore her gaze away and patted the spot Mike had been sitting in. “How about you sit down, darlin’? Before Nelson decides to try his luck a fifth time today and I have to show my bad side?”

Paul chuckled at that, flopping to the sand beside her, the scent of her filling his nose and making him breathe it in deep. He scooted a little closer when he saw her shiver a little and nodded to the wet clothing she wore, chuckling. “Didn’t anyone ever tell you it was too cold to start swimming right now?”

“Oh, we tried. But Scarlett, she’s a little hellion, so naturally, that went in one ear and out the other… Know what? I’m just gonna… Go over and talk to the guys. Let me know when you’re ready, Scar?” Jessica looked from Paul to Scarlett and winked at Scarlett, making her hasty retreat.

“Your girl, huh? Ya know… Usually I’d expect to be taken on an actual date first. Lucky I like you, Paul.”

Paul leaned in slightly, flashing that cocky smirk as he reached out to tuck hair behind her ear and with a wink, he replied. “Oh, you like me, huh?”

“Maaaybe a little?” Scarlett teased, giving him a soft and playful laugh.

SLOW BURN;

CULLEN.

Rosalie leaving took a serious toll on Emmett. He went from giant goofball teddy bear to quiet and thoughtful. Almost solemn. His family were starting to think that he wasn’t ever going to be the same, but then something happened.

A miracle.

Almost a year to the day after Rosalie left the coven, a new family moved into a newly constructed cabin next door to the Cullen house. And almost the instant that the 5′2 brunette got out of a Jeep Renegade and went racing for the house, Alice got hammered with a strong vision.

All Emmett could do was stare.

“Emmett are you alright?” - Esme was concerned. Her gaze followed his and settled on the brunette currently playing tug of war with what appeared to be two younger brothers over a box. She smiled to herself and cleared her throat. “What with your strength, Emmett.. Maybe you should go over and help them move in?”

Emmett’s hand raised, dragging slowly through close cropped platinum blond and he shrugged, kicking at rocks in the driveway.

Eventually he caved in and made his way over. Didn’t return til well after midnight and when he did, he was smiling a little, even humming to himself. For the first time in a year or so, the rest of the coven were treated to Emmett’s records playing full blast.

“I don’t get you.”

Emmett looked up and over at her. “What’s up, darlin?”

Dinah sighed and took a deep breath, rolling onto her stomach, raising her legs so that they were bent at the knee and crossed behind her. She found herself staring right back at Emmett, the warnings and the whispers and the rumors she’d spent 3 years listening to repeating in her head. Not caring, because for her, he was it.

… he’s still in love with Rosalie…

The thoughts were conflicting and for the moment, Dinah shook her head, plastering on a grin and leaning against him as she nuzzled her face against a bare muscular forearm.

“You’re startin to burn.” Emmett noticed the reddening of her skin and reached out for the sunscreen. Dinah rose to a sitting position, sitting between his legs. She bit her lip as creamy liquid made contact with her hot skin. His hands moved over her shoulders and then down her back and she sighed, eyes fluttering open and shut.

Before she could stop herself she’d blurted it out. “I don’t get you because I’ve been trying to show you I’m in love with you for almost the whole time we’ve known each other… and you kinda.. Get distant… Almost like you’re scared or something, I don’t know.” 

…. jesus, Dinah…

… welp, the cats out of the bag… and he’s not responding… Dinah went to stand but Emmett’s hands gripped her hips, tugging her back down to the sandy blanket they sat on. “I am scared. Because there’s something I’m not telling you..”

“You’re a vampire?”

Emmett coughed and Dinah turned to glance at him, biting her lip as she shrugged. “I was joking.”

“But you were right. I am a vampire and you… You’re not.”

“If you don’t feel the same, Emmett.”

Dinah went to stand and Emmett stopped her. Glancing around, he scooped her up and raced towards the treeline with her on his back. Once they were out of sight, Emmett bared his fangs. Dinah swallowed hard, standing there with a pounding heart. She blinked as the confusion cleared and she took a deep breath, reaching up to touch his jawline. “You.. You’re…”

“Mhm. I do feel the same way, Dinah. But it’s complicated..” Emmett trailed off, gaze settling on his bare feet. Dinah reached up, guiding his gaze down to her own. “It’s not that complicated. Can’t we just enjoy each other and worry about the technicality of it all when we have to? I mean… we’re 18.. Well, I’m 18..” Dinah trailed off, feeling pathetic for her pleading with him. But she just didn’t want to lose him in her life. They had this connection that she wasn’t eager to lose. Emmett took a deep breath and thought it over. Rosalie’s last words to him were ringing in his ears and repeating over and over and he tilted Dinah’s chin so that she was looking at him. He smiled and nodded, pulling her close. “I’d like that a lot, Dinah.”

ENEMIES TO LOVERS;

HALE.

“You’re such a jerk.”

Jasper eyed the blonde, a brow raised. All he could do was shrug because she wasn’t wrong. He was a jerk and he had a damned good reason to be. Couldn’t she sense the threat he posed on her life? But he couldn’t stay away either, there was so much push and shove between them, one of them always having some kind of dry humored sarcastic remark to attempt one upping the other. He was drawn to her like a moth to a flame, it was like Alice all over again before she left.

“Unbelievable. You’re not even going to bother trying to prove to me there’s a decent guy in there. Fine, you ass. Sit here alone and scowling. I just... I tried.” Jenny sighed and shook her head, turning on her bare feet to make a hasty retreat. Jasper watched her walking away and then.. it happened.

Alice.

In his mind, he could hear her, clear as day. “That girl is trying to reach out. She’s your future. She’s the reason I had to go, Jasper. But you won’t stop being stubborn.”

Jasper watched the blonde from his spot at the treeline. He’d been about to turn and make his way back to the Cullen’s house but Emmett nudged him, nodding towards the blonde. “You could at least go over and apologize, man. You’re always so rough on her and she’s trying. She’s stronger than you give her credit for. Don’t give me that excuse about not being able to control yourself. You can. You just want any excuse to keep you from letting her get close to you.”

“Doesn’t that jerk Benjamin get sick of being shot down?” Jasper mused to himself. He could see her tensing up, he knew she was uncomfortable. He focused and closed his eyes and tried to send her a wave of calm. Then he made his way over, clearing his throat obnoxiously from behind her.

“You might want to leave now. She’s said she don’t want anythin’ to do with you. Several times, actually.” 

Jenny felt herself relaxing and she knew that he was doing it again, keeping her calm. She bit her lip and whirled around with such force that it sent drink sloshing over the rim of her pink Solo cup and onto the white tee shirt he wore. “I thought you were leaving. All you’ve done all night is say rude things.”

“And I apologize, darlin.” Jasper took a deep breath, raising his hand, dragging it through shaggy dark hair, fixing bright eyes on her. “Can we take a walk?”

Jenny eyed him with a brow raised. She’d have burst into laughter, she’d have come up with some kind of smart ass comment to say, but she actually saw the look in his eyes. And more to the point, she felt all that pain and frustration he kept trying to shove down and it washed over her, making her feel as if she’d drown in it herself. She took a sip of the mixed drink in her hands and eyed the treeline, the dark forest that lie beyond. “This party sucks anyway. Sure. But if you say one mean thing to me, Jasper Hale, I’m leaving you in the forest for the bears to eat.”

Jasper offered his arm and Jenny slipped her arm through it, staring up at him, confused. “I thought you hated me. Why are you being so nice now?”

“Because I don’t hate you.I was trying to keep you at a distance, hon. Real stupid idea, I guess.”

“Wait, what?”

Jasper took a deep breath, a chuckle shattering the silence between the two of them. They’d just stepped into the forest path and he stopped their walk, pressing her back against the tree, gripping her jaw with his hand, leaning down and crashing his lips against her own. Jenny started off trying to shove him away, but she whimpered and she cracked, gripping his shirt, pulling his mouth into the kiss even deeper. Her teeth scraped his lip, his fangs scraped hers carefully and they bumped noses, breaking the kiss to laugh quietly. “Truce?” he asked.

“Truce.” Jenny giggled quietly, pulling him back down into another kiss....

First off - huge shout out and thank you to you @yariem-alkahen for sending this my way! I am so late to seeing messages on here - especially anon/asks but  I’ve had a good laugh and then of course followed up quickly by the dreaded decision making answers that this sort of thing brings on haha. ... Thirty minutes have gone by - this is nuts -- Right! Okay anyway - I’m totally good with answering these, making decisions and having explanations.... Fuck - Simon I feel like this gives a stereotypical response but - I feel like out of all the characters listed - he’s not going to settle down traditionally - so it suits him better. (???) (Plus - uh yeah - no need to explain why this works in general... hopefully haha. ^^’) Marry - Sam Yao. (Sorry - I’m not very original here. ^^’) Sam’s a good guy and definitely the king of friendships and commitment so - in some ways this makes a lot of sense that he’d be this option. I’m not saying his character would be the sort for full traditional marriage (or wouldn’t be) but - he’s a sweetie what can I say? Kill - (Hear me out on this one please!) ...this was... so gut-wrenching to put Evan’s name down here on here- ahh! I love and respect Evan and I don’t want him dead this is just -- it’s silly but I sat here for awhile trying to figure out if I could figure out a different method of answering this but I just ... can’t kill the others. (My only reasoning for choosing Evan -- one that I can actually live by is that - well - Evan’s a badass who would if it came down to killing each other -obviously with that fight so - loophole maybe?) Ah I don’t know. I feel like I’m rambling now and I apologize. ^^’ I know logic means nothing here for FMK and that this was for fun. And it was fun - just - really super hard to put Evan under the Kill group. ^^’ Anyway - I really do appreciate the chance to answer these so thank you for thanking of me @yariem-alkahen !! Problem is it’s hard to be unbiased...like, I think Who Am I (B1A4) is a flawless album and everyone should listen to it, but it’s not gonna be everyone’s thing and that’s fine. 2 albums I do think are worth listening to/owning even if I don’t stan the groups that made them are SHINee’s Hello repackage and Block B’s Blockbuster albums. Not a bad song on either, seriously so good.

Good to see you, friends.

I suppose the header here says it all. 

FIRST: I stand by everything I’ve said up to this point. I felt that people who abandoned this show early read a lot of metaphor into the show that either wasn’t meant to be there or wasn’t meant to be the focus. I think that those who painted Hiro as just another chosen one character were wrong about that, and I believe the worldbuilding (Slow or not) was worth sticking around. This is not an entire heel-face turn.

However, Episode fourteen of Darling in the FranXX hurt me. It hurt me deeply right after I was an insensitive prick on the internet (Big surprise there) to its critics. In particular to the hosts of a show I love and watch every god-damn week. So having gone through that ordeal and realizing how frustratingly antagonistic I’d been in some cases seeing what they decided to do with this episode was nearly enough to put me off the series entirely. So let’s discuss why Darling in the FranXX episode fourteen pissed me off so badly.

After the rollercoaster of positive progression in character story that was last week’s episode I naturally expected the end-of-episode revelation to carry that progress into this one. Instead what we get is the entirety of Squad 13 doing their damnedest to keep Hiro and Zero Two away from each other.

These people who claim to be Hiro’s friend. These people who claimed they had tried to give Zero Two a chance. They banded together to keep them apart, and for what? His safety? Don’t make me laugh. They didn’t even bother to listen to his feelings on the matter, they just decided that it was for his own good to post a guard on his fucking hospital room and attempt to physically restrain Zero Two from coming near it.

However, they weren’t the only idiots present. Hiro and Zero Two are getting a piece of my mind as well. Hiro didn’t even try to explain why he needed to see Zero Two. These are his friends, as we’ve established. Many of these people he’s known since childhood. Ichigo in particular should have been some one he’d have been willing to open up to considering their history together. Yet in all the time they were together in the hospital room he didn’t think to say, “I remembered that Zero Two and I had history together before we met here at the Plantation.”? Even if Ichigo’s response would have been to believe it was just Zero Two messing with his head I’d at least believe that Hiro’s following actions made some kind of sense.

Zero Two as well. She’s made no effort whatsoever to earn the trust of Ichigo and the others because she was sooooo convinced she didn’t need them. Continually seeing herself as a monster despite her desire not to be one. Nothing Hiro has done for her throughout their lives has managed to actually convince her to change. Being “human” isn’t something attained through genetics. It’s in how you behave that your humanity is measured. Zero Two has ultimately failed to realize this. 

In summation: all the characters behaved like idiots and got their idiot asses handed to them.

I went back, as I should have long-ago done, and watched the Anime FMK coverage for Episode one of DitF. Every problem they had with the show was basically distilled into this one episode. When exposed to that much suck in such an extreme concentration it finally clicked with me and I awakened to an understanding of where they were coming from.

I’ve done a lot of criticizing series this season for not building up their worlds or characters enough, and I realize now that I’ve been something of a hypocrite here. FranXX drip-fed worldbuilding well, but the early episodes failed to build up the characters enough for us to have cared about them. When they finally did start building up those characters the quality of the show improved, but this episode made it face-plant right back into the asphalt. 

I remember last year I raged against Eren Jaeger for never changing. Seeing this episode made me realize that any change in the FranXX characters was cosmetic and temporary, or at least seems to have been.

Still... I’ve stuck with worse shows... Far worse... [One hand Message plays in the distance] and they’ve actually managed to pleasantly surprise me. BTS: i’m not good with putting my feelings into words but I just really love their music and how sweet and kind they are. They came really far!! but stayed humble. They are so so talented and hard working. They really love eachother and their fans. I’m just really proud of them and i love them a whole lot haha

Mhm i think I have two I don’t even know who I love the most haha Jimin: oh my. No words can express my feelings for him. He is just such a talented, hard working and kind person. His voice is perfection and his dance is a sin. He is shy but also confident. He is humble but needs his daily dose of praise. His smile is beautiful he is sexy and funny and sweet and just amazing in every single way (im so whipped rip)

Taemin: I think him and jimin are quite similar so the reasons I love him are kinda the same haha. He is just a really interesting person. He is funny and a meme. He is beautiful and incredibly talented. I love his voice (he improved so much) his dance and his music. He can be so shy but when he dances omg he knows!!!! what he does to us. His smile is the cutest thing. He loves horror movies and is afraid of bugs (just like me) it’s so funny.

Sorry this has taken ages, not been able to use the laptop in a while and I need to type for these things!

Here goes:

Fuck - Matt Parkman (aka The Telepath dude on Heroes):  Okay well let’s look at this objectively.  He’s a cop.  In LA.  So he gets a really hot uniform for a start.  Then.  HE’S TELEPATHIC.  Remember the episode where he realised he was a telepath and the VERY FIRST THING he did was go home and give his wife a damn good seeing to because he knew exactly what she wanted and how she wanted it and she was like “Holy Mary mother of God baby Jesus and all the angels I CANNOT FEEL MY TOES HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOY WHAT THE SHIT SON!  BEST.  DAY.  EVEEEERRRR!!!!!” and he was all like dead pleased with himself like “hehehehe I can read your mind but you don’t know I can read your mind and this is great!” until like the next scene where he finds out she’s been having an affair with his BFF all along like DUDE WTF why would you cheat on Matt look at his face it’s beautiful, he’s one hot tamale, Mrs P!  Don’t be a douche!  Let Matt live!  What?  Oh.  Yes.  Anyway.  Definitely this option.  He’d leave you in the kinda state where it’d take three months just to wipe the smile off your face.  And it would be glorious.  Let’s hear it for Matt Parkman.  Let’s.  What a man.

LOOK AT THAT FACE OH MY GOD

Marry - Iwan Rheon:  This is a no-brainer.  He’s Iwan Rheon.  I mean he’s just all floof and beautifulness and he has incredible big blue eyes and such a precious perfect face and stupendous hair you could spend your life ruffling your fingers through I mean like be real here don’t try and tell me that waking up to Iwan Rheon every day for the rest of your life wouldn’t have any appeal whatsoever.  Also, as if being an adorable little ray of sunshine wasn’t remotely enough for him, HE SINGS!!!!!  IN TWO LANGUAGES!!!  (thank you for pointing this out to me.  I died for a few days but I got better) AND HE IS AMAZING.  I mean you’d have super talented kids and they’d get it all from him.  He can do it all, acting wise.  We’ve seen him be the adorkable little Ash in Vicious.  Everyone else aside from me has seen him be the evil baddie in Game of Thrones.  Now he’s sporting a dreadful American accent in Inhumans (I think he’s meant to be the baddie but honestly I can’t see how the Inhumans are the goodies in this scenario please can someone explain how having a ‘caste’ system in place is in any way indicative of a group of people being The Good Guys?)  The man has depth.  And a beautiful face.  Unsure if I’ve mentioned the face.

Basically he’s like an even sweeter, Welsh version of James McAvoy.  With equally blue sparkly eyes.  Who wouldn’t want to be married to that?

I mean just look at this little perfect angel.  Just look.  LOOK AT HIM.

Kill - Hiro (Heroes):  I mean Hiro god love him he’s never done a bad thing in his life - okay Kenzo may not completely agree there because I swear Kenzo had about 30000 heart attacks in the first episode because Hiro did his head in so much.  But still.  I mean bless him.  He’s just no Matt/Iwan.  I’m sorry, I can’t help it.  It isn’t my fault.
