The 24 Character Strengths are awesome references when writing characters!!

I've found this website to be extremely helpful and cool while fleshing out my characters' personalities and motivations.

Even if I only have basic personality traits for a character, exploring strengths that I feel fits them and reading their descriptions is fantastic for inspiration!! It really helps narrow down the basic ideals I imagine a character would believe in, and then I can get more specific from there. It's a great guide to springboard off of!

Each strength is sorted into one of six virtues. Starting with a broad virtue, for example "justice," and honing that down into the strengths of "fairness," "leadership," or "teamwork" makes writing them really fun!

Here's an example of the "fairness" strength description! Lots of detail and tangible qualities describing it!

Of course there are infinite ways to interpret a character strength, just like in real life. And people aren't always black and white and follow a strength 100% of the time. But it's been extremely helpful to see specific traits being described in so much detail, and imagining different scenarios that a character would react in. It's like I can understand them a bit more and think a little like them, especially if their trait isn't one of my personal strengths. :3

But I also recommend taking the actual personality test for yourself! I took it years ago and it was really cool to put a name to some of my strengths and see how detailed this descriptions were. And when my friends and I shared our results, I felt like we understood each other just a little more. :)

I've been thinking about what Kallamar does to stay busy post-usurp. With my canon, I can't make him the cult doctor, because he would just catch the things he's trying to treat and die. The compromise for that is that he's able to train new doctors and offer medical advice from the sidelines, away from the actual patients. He wouldn't need to do that full-time though, so what else would he do to avoid just rotting in bed all day?

I decided to give him a job that's in line with the hobby I gave him. The COTL world may not have invented the printing press yet, so they probably still spread books the old fashioned way. Why not have the guy who genuinely likes calligraphy do some book copying for the cult?

It's a low-stress activity. Even if he does make a mistake, there's always more paper, there's always more ink. The sun shines in through the window onto his desk and he feels like he's valued. Lamb always comes to pick up the books in person and Kallamar gets to chat with them for a bit, even if it's an otherwise busy day.

Anyway. I think it's worthwhile to have post-usurp Bishops branch out from their crown concepts and pursue different hobbies and skill sets. It's more real to me. They've been doing the same thing for 5 thousand years and they need some new enrichment.

Sorcerers’ society find out the causes of earthquakes happening faster than usual was MC due to their magic potential (MC being the cause of all the natural ‘phenomenon’ in S2) and now want to investigate MC and call them in.

Drama has already started baby.

Solomon who’s against this but goes with MC to make sure they’re ok because it’s not a good idea to ignore a seemingly threat invitation I mean.

It’s explained the Ring of light was used to console MC’s magic and everything is fine now but they’re doubting it and want to investigate the Ring of light for themselves, if it’s actually successfuly tamed their magic or just a temporary device to tone it down- simply meaning if MC’s overflow of magic would still be leaking and not fully restrained.

[Also add overprotective Solomon drama who’s against this because that’s hot and more dramatic]

It’s found out the ring of light isn’t powerful enough to completely prevent MC’s magic from overflowing and now…

The sorcerers’ society have deemed MC a threat. A large threat to the human world.

Who would be better off dead. No. SHOULD be dead.

I think I know how Buck is gonna be involved in the Abuela/Diaz family storyline:

Basically, Abuela is gonna end up being admitted into the hospital because of a bad injury and Eddie ends up having to call his parents so they end up leaving Texas. Later on, it gets revealed that Abuela is showing signs of degenerative memory loss (I'm thinking Alzheimer's or dementia) and they have to discuss next steps.

Eddie and Chris are already at the hospital, but Eddie called Buck when they first went in, so Buck arrives to look out for his boys and to be mortal support. Meanwhile, the Diaz parents are surprised at Buck's presence, but they don't say anything.

Later on, when they're discussing taking care of Abuela, Helena decides to bring up how Eddie could end up getting an injury on the job that puts him in a similar position to Abuela (with his memory being compromised) and that if that happens, there would be no one to look out for Christopher. She starts to say how they can look after him, but Eddie immediately cuts her off and says that he would never put himself in a position where he got hurt like that. And if it did happen, Chris was already going to be taken care of. This almost leads to an argument where Ramon has to shut it down and Eddie walks out.

Outside of Abuela's room, Buck is sitting with Chris, making sure he's okay after hearing Abuela's diagnosis. Chris says that it's scary, but he just wants her to be okay and taken care of, but Buck can tell that there's something more going on. Chris later admits that he heard Eddie getting into it with Helena and it reminded him of all the times they argued about taking him back to Texas. He then admits to Buck how it's been going on ever since he was a kid and that no matter what happens to his dad, he never wants to move back to Texas because he'd be leaving behind the things he's found and grown to love about California: the main thing being Buck. Buck ends up comforting him and tells him that Eddie would do everything in his power to never put him in that position. And if God forbid something happened to Eddie and Chris was at risk of going back, he wouldn't let that happen, thinking back to Eddie telling him about the will.

The next day at the station, Buck tells Eddie that Chris heard his conversation with his parents and how it brought up his anxiety of having to go back to Texas if anything happened to him. Eddie is horrified at this, but Buck reassures him that he was able to calm Chris down. However, Buck grows serious and suggests to Eddie that he needs to tell Chris about the will, admitting that it took everything in him not to tell Chris himself but he didn't want to do it without Eddie's consent. Eddie ends up telling Buck that he always intended to tell Chris, but after that Christmas that made Eddie quit the 118, he put it to the back burner because he didn't want to give Chris that anxiety. Buck tells Eddie that Chris is always going to have that anxiety about something happening to him, but telling him about the will and his role in it will probably provide Chris a safety net where he knows that no matter what, he's not leaving LA and he's not leaving Buck. After a minute, Eddie relents and decides to tell Chris, but only if Buck is in the room with them when he does it.

Later that night, Eddie and Buck sit with Chris in his room and they proceed to finally tell them about the will. Chris is shocked, but is ultimately relieved that he'd be staying with Buck and that even though he loves his grandparents and Texas, his home is here in LA with Eddie and Buck. Cue Buckley-Diaz group hug.

Once they leave his room, Buck suggests that Eddie might have to tell his parents about the will so that at least they're not blindsided when Buck starts making the decisions in Eddie's absence. Eddie knows he's right, but tells him that he'll cross that bridge when he gets there. He then apologized to Buck for putting him in such a rough position and reassures him that he had a permanent place in Chris' life long before he changed his will and that he's stuck with them. And Buck couldn't be happier. Cue an extra long Buddie hug.

notes: one of my favourite fics ever on god. started my brainrot for dad!husk, portrays one of the most scrumptious radiostatic dynamics and is generally so very well written that i might end up trying to recreate one of the scenes in comic form. genuinely in love with this fic and im so glad i can say i was the first comment on this fic because my God its such a treat to see new chapters drop for this. unfortunately i havent had the time to write out a detailed comment as of now but if someone wants to let the author know that im still in love with their fic and will continue supporting it until i drop dead go ahead for me

notes: the prequel and main fic of this series is human radiostatic, though the sequel is set in hell. it comes with gorgeous gorgeous art and frankly one of the most exhilirating endings ive ever had the pleasure of witnessing play out. i recommend you guys check out their other fics too, the art continues in them + their radiostatic is written wonderfully across all universes!

suddenly feeling very ill after interpreting tianlang-jun and su xiyan's relationship and qijiu's as foils to bingqiu's. all three relationships suffered greatly because of a horrific big misunderstanding, aggravated further by a lack of communication thereafter.

su xiyan, yue qingyuan, and shen yuan are all similar in their decision not to communicate the truth out of guilt, believing that they have failed and have (though unwillingly) abandoned their loved one thus deserve no forgiveness, just suffering.

meanwhile, the common denominator between tianlang-jun, shen jiu, and binghe is the self-loathing born out of the fact that despite the perceived betrayal of their loved one, forgiveness still won out (even before they knew of the truth and received the apology they were due) and the love they feel have persevered.

unfortunately for tianlang-jun and su xiyan, tianlang-jun didn't even get to find out the truth in the original plot, and it had simply been too late in the svsss universe.

same goes for qijiu, shen jiu doesn't get to find out the truth in pidw. meanwhile, yue qingyuan musters the courage to confess his truth too late in svsss; the shen qingqiu that awoken from that one qi deviation all those years ago is no longer the same one he'd loved—which interestingly can be, in some way, paralleled with how shen yuan initially believed that the luo binghe who emerged from the abyss is no longer his beloved white lotus binghe and thus his own lack of attempt to ask forgiveness and explain his actions to binghe upon his return.
