the idea of gay dads post-nimona movie ending is so funny to me because imagine you're ambrosius and you and your husband adopted this little shapeshifter that just found your husband one day and your child looks at you and tells you that she had a baby gay relationship with your great-great-great-great-great-etc-grandmother about a thousand years ago like id be so distraught /hj

[Image description: A digital drawing based on the film Knightriders. There are five different objects on the page, drawn across a diagonal. At the bottom right of the piece, there's a motorcycle which has a front modelled after a Medieval shield. Above this, there's a similarly styled helmet, which has a visor and a plume on the top. Below this, there's a sword which is pointed downwards. Above the two items, there's a mace with its chain leading off of the view of the page. Further above, there's an exaggeratedly big ornate crowd. These elements are drawn with a dark green and all coloured with a flat blue-grey. There's a red outline around the objects, although it is not flush to them. The background is a bright orange.]

Yeah honestly I didn't mind the ratfish even though I disagreed with 90% of his takes, I just wish we could have had some payoff of seeing the cast react to him and I kinda don't get why they didn't do that. It felt like a weird choice

Btw, a lot of the criticisms I've seen of Lower Decks get resoved if you just accept that it's basically a children's social engineering cartoon made by and for adult trekkies.
Like, "Why do all the characters talk so loud and fast?" "Why do none of the characters date each other when they all have such good chemistry?" "Why is every major status quo shift resolved within an episode or two?" Because friendship is magic and we have to save the world before bedtime, bitch! Get with the god damn program

Eight Hours? EIGHT HOURS!?
Every time I think I'm safe for the week Critical Role finds a new way to knock me through a loop XD
The State of the Role today revealed that Ep. 121 is to be the finale of Campaign 3, having a record-breaking 8.5 hours runtime - effectively an entire work day! I suppose if you're gonna break a record the finale is the best place to do it, but seriously that is so much and so much can happen in it! I am curious why they opted against splitting at least the live showing into two parts, perhaps running one half on Thursday night and another on Friday just to give a breather then the whole thing in the VOD, but perhaps there just isn't as neat a cut between them to be feasible.
It's a wonder what can occupy such time though - and no, stop it, don't think that, I won't entertain it after everything they've fought through - I assume a lot of it could be chatting with the gods (potentially with an array of guest voices and maybe a friendly ghost aeormation playing as mediator), since there's a lot of gods and they want to convince all of them of the Option C plan, with potential ground rules and addendums put forward in the negotiation. There may be some bits with VM and M9 too since the god stuff does directly affect some of their characters, and then a final wrap up for the Hells themselves - even if it's just having a wild ass party and waking up to a new dawn. It's likely going to occupy dominate my thoughts for most of the week, and then the 3 hours I can possibly watch on stream while working, but still that is a lot.
I'm still not ready for it to be over, and there are still things I want to come out of the campaign that while are definitely up to the cast would enrichen the experience for me personally, but now we know when exactly the end is coming, and it's going to be a big one.
