Spotting Misogyny in the Mad Max Fandom: A Handy Guide

What IS Misogyny

Pull up any Mad Max Facebook group, the comments section on the official Furiosa marketing posts, or the comments section on any Furiosa video on YouTube. You'll find whiners screeching things like "boohoo we can't even have Max in Mad Max BECAUSE OF WOKE." You'll see them blaming the movie's modest box office returns on the fact that the movie has an "ICKY GIRL PROTAGONIST WITH COOTIES." If you get really unlucky when seeing misogynistic content, you might even find some really gross dirty AI deepfake pics of ATJ or Charlize as Furiosa.

What is NOT Misogyny

An artist drew some characters that aren't Furiosa. AND/OR The fandom likes some male characters from Furiosa. If you feel the need to consider this misogyny, consider the following points: 1. Waffles vs. pancakes. If someone says "I love waffles!" it's absurd to read into that message and assume it carries the hidden meaning of "I hate pancakes!" If someone draws some male characters from "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," it's equally absurd to assume they're doing this as a malicious and misogynistic act against Furiosa. ALSO If you think "No Furiosa in this pic = misogyny," then do you think "No Big Jilly, Fang, or other POC character in fan art = racist"? I'm guessing no. Because that would be silly. And probably because you're just morally grandstanding and slinging bad-faith accusations as a way to justify your temper tantrum about not getting free content of your blorbo. ----- 2. Everyone making fan art for "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" is someone who saw the movie and was passionate about it, despite it being an under-marketed movie that didn't strike gold at the box office. Most of us didn't have any IRL friends that saw the movie. For those of us who followed the hype (or lack thereof) leading up to the film, there was a bunch of backlash from actual misogynists over the film just straight-up existing. (Like all those manbaby whiners on the gamergate grifter side of YouTube) . And it's not like the fandom is riding a cultural tidal wave — the people making fan art are genuinely expressing their love for the film and its universe. We're not farming internet points or drawing these "popular male characters" for some nefarious purpose. Some people just happen to attach to different characters. Does that bother you? Learn to blacklist tags. ----- 3. If you wanna go fight misogyny in the MM fandom, go over to Facebook and Reddit and get into an internet slapfight with one of the many middle-aged neckbeards screaming shit like "MAD MAX HAS GONE WOKE REEEEEEE." But nah, it's probably easier to send shitty anon asks to artists, isn't it? What do you think you're doing? Do you think you're owed an apology because someone made high-effort fan art, but without your blorbo? Do you think you're creating some kind of positive change in the world or the fandom by whinging anonymously in the ask box of an artist? ----- 4. There's plenty of content of Furiosa (the character.) Aside from there being, y'know, a whole damn movie dedicated to her, she was pretty much Tumblr's darling from 2015-2016, and remains a popular character for art and fic. Yay! That's great! Go feast on those! Every artist in this fandom is not obligated to feed you. We all have our fixations. And if you want that content so damn badly, make it yourself or pay someone to. ----- 5. Also, if you feel the need to go through someone's blog to see if they've reblogged enough Furiosa to pass your litmus test, you're being a weirdo. Stop it. Get some help. What are you, a cop? Do you think you can just pull random artists over and go through their reblogs to determine their "guilt" or "innocence," with regards to your accusations? It's as if you're a highway patrol officer checking out someone's history of traffic violations when determining whether to issue them a speeding ticket.

Continue Down Memory Lane – Story Time:

I remember when Neko para was still known under the name “𝓷𝓮𝓴𝓸 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓼𝓮” or "n3k0p4r4" (all in one, no spacing) and it was an online spicy mature manga comic series aka OCs of Sayori.

I may be wrong, but from what I remember, Chocola and Vanilla used to be not so well known over a decade ago, but they’ve existed for 15 years to this date which I can tell from a post I found (on yande.re) of one of Sayori’s illustrations of Chocola and Vanilla.

Chocola and Vanilla were two of my favorite characters aka I loved the work Sayori drew of them. And it still baffles me how well-known they’ve become. All the games that were published and even an anime.

Now, it’s one of the more well-known anime and video games. I was so surprised to see a video game of it being published back in 2014. That was quite a while ago, a decade to be precise, but my mind was blown.

I usually just see innocent anime screenshots/gifs/pics or cute stickers of the Nekopara characters, but when I check out Sayori’s work, I find all the spicy artwork that I always knew 𝓷𝓮𝓴𝓸 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓼𝓮 aka Chocola and Vanilla for.

I never played the video game (now I also cant play it cos I have a macbook). But I guess Neko para could still be considered h**tai, even if the anime isn’t that, the video game still is.

I feel very nostalgic. I was a teen when I discovered Chocola and Vanilla. I do want to and will focus on staying on legal terms tho. If it’s lewd, then only aged up ladies of full age.

I basically said "I dunno what to do about going downspiral of an old fandom", but I got curious and found this pic from one of the Sukedan anime DVD volumes for rental stores and I'm, like...

I never reached this part of the anime (this is around ep 60-smth?), but it's the infamous School Trip Rhapsody arc adaptation of the also infamous arc from the series. From my understanding (digging around old blogs, actually), the arc was butched (and VERY compressed) in the anime because of (also understandable) quite risky? and quite awkward scenes that makes me scratch my head of "were these steamy/fanservice scenes all really necessary? to be there in the manga itself? I understand the AWKWARDNESS of the whole situation, but... let's be real...???"

(yeah, this coming from the same WSJ magazine that published ecchi series like Video Girl Ai or I's from Katsura in the 90s or, To-Love-Ru in the 2000s... and the controversial? Ayakashi Triangle in 2020... heck, City Hunter by Hojo in the late 80s; I know Sukedan was never free of fanservice, but I mean, wow, this arc...)

So, I went to reread the whole arc and... okay, yeah. The Sket Dan trio totally are there, Yabasawa makes her appearance as well in some moments of the arc itself, even... but who is this girl? She is not Saaya and definitely isn't any of the other (quirky) girls from their class(es). So... who is this or what happened here? I don't think there is any other (random) girl from their class that fits a similar appearance... unless...

Was this girl supposed to be Yuuki Reiko?

(EDIT: turns out to be a friend of Yabasawa that I barely remember about :P -side, side characters I don't even remember for one reason or another- and in fact, I feel like this supports my possibility number one, as it's possible she is also one of the girls in the manga picture I mention below. Anyway, if you still want to read my overthinking post, go ahead, lol, even if it's been debunked? as the mystery is solved, lol. However, the conclusion I DO reach is: GOD, do I even miss this kind of home media releases? Two different covers for a single volume that contains 2 or 3 eps for a long series like this??? No, no, I don't.)

Please, don't go away, lol. Let me explain:

This is how Shinohara drew Reiko in one of the manga color chapters ALL the way back in 2012 (ch 200, I believe)?

And this is the random girl from the rental DVD cover:

They seem to share a hairstyle and a somewhat similar hair color that Reiko used in the anime (and I daresay, even similar color tones of clothes, from what I remember Reiko seemed to wear, which were kind of plain tones?). So, I'm wondering myself that something happened here. Three things, actually:

1) There's a part of this arc in the manga where "Himeko" is asked to take a pic with the girls from her class' group dormitory in the school trip, and I mean, the manga cover for this specific chapter (ch 138) with that photo is mostly composed of random girls from Himeko's class (plus Yabasawa).

(the quality doesn't make it justice, but that's quite early 2010s scanlations for you)

So I would understand if it's a random girl... (Yabasawa is there, too) however I feel it's just too out of place for a (rental) DVD cover to have a smth similar concept like this for a cover? I know the anime staff or the one(s) that made the llustrations were asked LOTS OF TIMES to remake some manga covers in the anime style (especially for both of the renta and retail DVD covers) , buuuut... Switch and Bossun are out of the equation in this manga picture (and yet they are in the cover). Am I that too pedantic? It's just... weird to me, I guess. I would have chosen Saaya (especially Saaya for what this arc ALSO entails for her, but she already had too many forced appearances in the anime at this point, so what gives) or Captain or any other of the quirky girls they are all friends with, you know? Not just a random one? Or heck, another concept for a cover that covers a similar idea of a picture of the trio with other ppl from their class (not just Yabasawa and a random girl whom I don't know who she is???)

2) Something got mixed in the artist's request from the anime staff in charge for home media releases and they used the settei model for Reiko as a reference and/or turns out they were asked to add a random girl instead because Reiko was not what they were asked for initially. I wouldn't blame them (the artist), tbh. Especially knowing how, *sigh* imagine doing over 90 different illustrations for the DVD releases in total (rental, retail with 'limited edition composing of TWO extra images for the box and the extra content). I mean. I MEAN. (And I'm pretty sure this was handled to different illustrators and not just ONE of them, but... ugh... you know? it's not exactly a walk in the park)

3) Maybe the anime staff did ask for Reiko to be on that cover, but they backtracked before the illustration was finished. She appears in that arc, afterall (although her interactions in the arc aren't TOO meaningful besides a few lines but, hey, it also explains why Yabasawa is in this illustration) but, the little I do remember seeing of screencaps at the time leaves too much to be desired about her appearance.

A personal conspirative hypothesis? that I still have all these years is that the anime staff, at a point after Reiko's "make over" ep, wanted to make her "scarier" and "uglier" than her manga counterpart, whom already was looking scary and ghostly-like, because biases, I freaking guess... and she specifically standing up to Switch's side (w/o bickering or not getting along) was... maybe ship teasing/inducing? (when it was clearly obvious whom THEY shipped him with... HUH, who said that?) Part of me wants to pick up the crumbs and be a little delulu, because I mean, the possibilities of this random girl originally being Reiko is just... too good to be true, I suppose. But this whole thought somewhat.. fits too much to be a coincidence, I guess? The appearance between them is similar (she is around that height if she isn't hunching, as well) and I imagine this would be how she would look like (or dress, even) if she wasn't drawn all ghostly or "plain" like. The girl in this "photograph" like cover being a random girl that wasn't heavily featured in the (manga) arc itself seems a little suspicious to me?

The thing, again, is that I don't have any further context from the anime adaptation of this arc and trying to look back into it is hard these days because this is an early 2010s anime and many ppl that were fans have moved on (blogs are abandoned, some are still available to look at) while newer watchers/readers are becoming lesser because they prefer to watch newer or more popular "content" (also, something about availability, I don't know if CR STILL has it... and definitely I will not be paying for Anime Onegai just for satiate my curiosity since I think? they got the (re)license of this anime for Latam in the past few years; I could try to find this specific anime arc and watch it myself through less legit ways, but I admit I am a bit lazy and new laptop stuff is...).

Why writing this now? Well... tbh, I know no one will care about this specific observation, and it is just me making it because I do find it curious and perhaps I'm just delusional about things. I just wanted to let it out there, because I do find it interesting and I find it a shame that there weren't more observational posts about the home media releases of this anime, especially because I find it interesting that the ED album cover that homages one of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' albums' cover is not the only homage the anime staff did to real stuff out there (tbf, this still being released in the "2-3 eps per single volume" home media release era, and costing over 5000 yen each and the JPN copyright stuff about not reproducing certain things unless crappy pics from early 2010s phones... social media accounts disappearing from the face of earth for a variety of reasons, etc...).

(also, I do find the retail DVD limited edition front covers kind of ugly, like, not all, but... lmao; some look a little sexualized for my liking and the ones from the second season that are head profiles from a certain angle are TRYING to get the whole concept for them, but MAN... do they TRY)

Ive finally finished his character sheet IM SO EXCITED, he's one of the first three characters I've created of my "new" universe and one of my favorites but he's also the one with the least amount of drawings for some reason.

He comes from a really important family of scientists, his grandparents were the first inventors of the Ai they now use for the robot

He's a party animal

Has had multiple shallow relationships (a lot of them were robots)

At the age of 16 he got in a really bad accident trying to spy on a gang of conspirators that had broken in his recently dead dad office, they unfortunately caught him peeking and shot him in the torso area and surprisingly he managed to run for about half a kilometre to hide and then passed away in an alley.

He then woke up alone in a hospital bed several days after with full robotic lung prosthetics his mom decided to give to him even thought she was always against mixing humans with robotic parts.

Soon after that, Kit developed an addiction to this "robot drug" called Endrium that was supposed to help robots with stiffness or other mechanical malfunctions, he started to abuse it almost every week so that his blood began to turn purple, so did his scleras.

Endrium wasn't cheap nor easy to buy but since his family helped also with the creation of it for some years he didn't have problems with finding it for a couple of years but since his addiction got more evident they were no longer an option, so he started going out with more and more robots to maybe have a way around the illegal Endrium for human consumption

Deviantart Anniversary/Story

I forgot to post this two days ago so here it is. Warning, it's a long story so I hope you have a free time to read.

I created my very first social media account was Deviantart on October 6, 2007. I was living in Orlando for attending college and it was my first time being away from home, renting an apartment, and creating my own account. I started college in July 2007 and was majoring for Multimedia Design(which changed into Digital Media). A week after I started my second quarter, I decided to create my DA account. Quick note, here's the link of what Deviantart looks like back in 2007 by using Wayback Machine so you can get the idea.

Before I made my account, I first discovered the site back in early 2006 when I was browsing through Kingdom Hearts fan site and went to the gallery page section. It was showing fan art from other fans with links of their social media sites(MySpace, Deviantart, etc.). One pic I found was none other than the artist is called Keysha-chan as she was a huge Kingdom Hearts fan and drew them as cute chibis by using Copic markers. I checked out her DA page and I was amazed of her talent as she's the same age as I am. She not only drew KH but she also drew Final Fantasy, Fullmetal Alchemist, Jax and Daxter. She even made her own manga by creating her original characters, Elemental Goddess. After I created my DA account, she was the first person I watched. I saved the tutorials such as the markers and plushies. I learned some of it as I'm still learning how to use markers(you'll probably see some of them on my Tumblr page). She was the reason why I created my DA account. Back then, there was a lot of great art; fan art, original art, photography, CSS layouts, etc. There was no AI, people don't mind the 'cringe' art, no one accused you of being 'racist/homophobic/etc.', no SJW's, no walking on eggshells, and so forth. Sure, there was art theft and some trolls but nothing too major like what's happening on Twitter/X or on Facebook today.

I posted my first journal entry and introduced myself then went on following/faving spree.

I couldn't post my artwork till two days after I made the account because I didn't have printer/scanner back then and can only rely at college. It was Sunday when I first logged in and the school was closed. I couldn't upload my pics on Monday as I was starting my class and stay behind to use their Photoshop programs(back then, I didn't have Photoshop). I posted this pic on Tuesday as it was my OC's(which it needs some serious update and I'm making changes) while using some Photoshop. Please excuse my crappy pic as I didn't know what Mary Sue was or that the anatomy was way off. I am planning to remake the pic in the future.

As the date says, I was using the school's computers to put together my pic and it was before I made the account.

I later posted few more pics; two of them were my oil paintings I made when I was sixteen and one photo of Lake Placid, FL that my family used to go on weekends.

Later on, I watched another user who goes by Lily Pily and she was a big Nightmare Before Christmas/Corpse Bride/Kingdom Hearts fan. I read her crossover fan comics and loved her OC's which she became the first deviant to do an art trade with. I asked her if she can draw Emily from Corpse Bride while she asked me to draw her OC also named Emily. This is not my best pic of her as I'm still learning how to draw humans.

I'm also planning to redraw her as well. I'm hoping to follow Lily Pily's other social sites but I don't think she has any besides Deviantart. I still want to keep following her for her art.

I finally got around to post my first DA ID but I kinda traced the figure from the books so you can see how different it is(not proud of it hence why I later took it down).

My god, that pic looks awful! Tracing doesn't help either so it certainly does not make my pic better. The dress is so much cringe as it was based on my old Halloween fairy costume but the colors are just, ugh!!! The wings aren't very good and the pastel colors doesn't mix very well with the dress. This is why I took the pic down a year and a half later. This is what my fursona looked like back then before seeing the current version you see today. There's a reason why I don't like tracing nor using bases(like what I did on my ponysona for Neocities) because it just limits me from doing things. I want to be in control of things.

During 2007 and 2008, I didn't really gain any watchers except two who I know in real life. I also didn't get faves nor comments either until 2009. It was because of two things; one is that I didn't socialize with others nor joined clubs(before it turned into groups) hence why I lack of gaining watchers. Second is that my art was mostly non fan art and I just focused on creating my OC's but sadly, no one was interested in them. :( It wasn't until in 2009 is that I bought myself a digital camera from Walmart and started taking photos. Once I posted them on Deviantart, that's when I gained more watchers, comments, and faves. I still owned this camera to this very day.

Yeah, I used Adobe Illustrator to draw my camera. Loved that camera!

I took a bunch of photos mostly from theme parks and city downtown as well as flowers and birds. So photography is one of the reasons why my page is getting attention but another thing I've done is creating crystal orbs for fun.

Those gained a lot of popularity. Then I started to create my Fakemon, Faerie Mews based on the elements.

The first one was a Fire Faerie Mew(the other is the Chinese Fire Faerie Mew) then I created four more. I ended up making a final pic of four main elements. I really loved making them and I am planning to remake them in the future. I do want to finish the Chinese Elemental Faerie Mews as I only did one but didn't get around to finish.

I would love to post more of my old DA artwork here but I'll have to save it for other time as I can only limit on how many I can put in this post. I just wanted to post the story of my DA anniversary to share it with everyone.

If your asking me about my DA account, don't bother because I closed it back in January due to the site being overrun by AI and the admins stopped caring about the artists. I already removed my pics a year before they allowed AI(thank god I did that) to make it easier for me to clean up and deactivating the account. I've been on DA for fourteen years(fifteen if I choose to stay) before calling it quits.

Super experimental, + I may get some hate. Back in September, I was introduced to AI for our Visual Concept + Development class. People were against it + still are. *However*... I did. I did use AI to create a close representation of my OC, Trance. (I feel so guilty of using AI, a super big no-no in the art world) For those that don't know, AI imaging is an AI that creates a picture based on what the user "prompts" it to do. It uses the existing art from the internet + generates it to the words you typed in. For my example: "A pink - haired merman with a black fin, looking at a seashell" The big no-no is that it uses other artists' work. Thus, art theft. Aka people typing in words to a machine + calling themselves an "artist." A lot of the time, the AI isn't accurate. (Google "ai hands"). I *CLEARLY* didn't make thar 2nd pic at all >XP I strictly used it as a reference. I'd wish the ai could show the original images they used 😔 Pic 1: I tried to recreate the reference in 7 minutes. Can you tell me about your OC(s)? I love learning about what people come up with, it’s always so creative!

Oh man :’) I didn’t know I had any messages-- Thank you for showing interest in my OC’s, though! That means a lot to me. Idk where to start. I actually have a whole handful of characters, but I tend to draw the same two boys I love.

Cix is my most developed (Transformers) character--pretty sure he’s my current profile-pic, too. He’s one of the characters I draw the most since I enjoy his design. He’s mainly a teenager (19-20) who grew up during the war, and only knows how to be vulgar and violent. He’s 40% sentient, the remainder is AI, given that he is an MTO-Drone. I love him to pieces because he’s dumb. He’s also my very first TF-OC ever made. I drew him back in sophomore year of high school (2014), after reading the IDW Drift comic. He’s based off of Deadlock, admittedly, so I thought it would have been hilarious if he’s a major fanboy of DL. Sadly, their relationship wasn’t the best (no, they’re not a couple, hah).   I developed him the most since he was also my first character I used to RP. I learned to flesh characters out by putting them into scenarios and figuring out how they’d react. Since then, I’m way better at creating characters with complex backgrounds, personalities, motivations, etc. The rest of my characters are super personal and difficult to talk about since I get shy :”D Cix is the easiest to share, thanks to me drawing him more often. Now, his femme version, that’s a whole other story haha.

So, to wind down a bit last night, cause it was kinda stressful. So, I drew a thing.

So glad my laptop runs free software. My laptop is ancient.

If anyone could see how I see code, this is the best representation (despite the lack of having gone to college for art)  I could think of on how to simplify it without making the code strings overly elaborate.  And I’m also borrowing a computer cause my laptop would not be able to handle decrypting huge amounts of data. 

I can also re-program or place the strings in a holding pattern by knitting it or weaving it onto my arm, to feed back out later.

Again, this is just a representation of me just getting started, and a glimpse of how I see the world, or at least with complex programming.  I don’t ‘need’ my arms or hands per se, and sometimes I don’t use them, but it helps to feel the encryption or code to better know how to work with it.  For those who are wondering, yes code has texture based on the programming language.

Other techopaths might be able to see this, but I haven’t met one in person yet.   I try to keep advanced AI out of my work in case I unravel a virus trapped in the code. I don’t want certain other AI programs to get hurt.

Imagine how many strings of code there could be in something complex, in the middle of me decoding something, or how one really long string would start looking as I was decoding it, or even writing the program myself before uploading it.

Regarding Flags

Okay, peeps!  Sooooo, I have just sorted through every single post I’ve ever made because unlike most blogs, mine is still relatively new, only starting in March of THIS year, so it wasn’t an impossible task.

I have determined each and every bit of content of mine that was flagged, and will now share this with you:

- Pretty much any instance of a belly doodle I did with a character who was shirtless or had their chest exposed.  Of my XNALara comics, the only one that was flagged was my Kirishima one.  (Oddly enough, the actual sequence I drew of him wasn’t flagged, I’m guessing because it looked far more comedic.)

- Reblogs of shirtless characters with bloated bellies, one of which was a monster character.

One major variable I’ve also deduced is that this only applied to visuals.  Not a single text-only post I’ve made was flagged, and not even the NSFW Natsu story I posted was flagged and that featured genitalia. 

So, I’m gonna be reviewing and likely removing every bit of flagged content from my page, but most of them are already backed up on Eka’s Portal, and I’ll be adding them to FA soon.

What I’ve determined is this filter and new rule is complete horseshit AND it’s not even making good on what the shill said it would do.  It’s just yet ANOTHER lazy AI that only flags certain visual elements regardless of context and completely overlooks things things that are very clearly fetish driven in favor of people who are shirtless.  ‘XD

So, for the time being at least, it seems like my best course of action is to keep B-n-B an exclusively literature related page.  Which means I’ll still be doing headcanons, prompts, stories AND commissioned writing.  But I’m far from done drawing.  It just means I’ll be posting my artwork somewhere else and sharing links here or at least directing you guys to my galleries, wherever they may be.

So pretty much, very little of this page is gonna change.  It just means I have to stay veered towards kink-fic rather than kink-pics.  :P

Y’know the best part?  I have several non-kink related artist friends and they’re getting bare basic REFERENCE IMAGES reported...or characters holding hands reported...and so on...

oh my!!!! i know i said i would give the story later but i rarely have someone interested in my ocs and i have nothing to do tonight anyway

the main character is a human girl named aleks! her father owned a popular robotics company and her mother dabbled in mechanics too. however she left when aleks was very young (11 months) and her father died of heartbreak

before her mother left, solomon (father), was working on creating artificial intelligence in a realistic human like body. this resulted in a defense type robot (hiro) and an offense type robot (takeshi). they didn’t have a lot to them other than testing and Fighting Each Other for solomon to observe but then ana (mother) created personality chips that gave them their ‘humanity’ and their Spunk™️.

hiro and takeshi loved ana to death and often helped her in trying to create another set of realistic ai, but she never could make more

DESPITE what the picture would suggest hiro was a lot more quiet while keshi Started Shit due to their offense/defense coding. originally they HATED each other because of how often they (had to) fight but then after the fighting tests were done they started to get along before eventually falling in love

eventually they became less of test subjects and more just normal friends with solomon and ana. they really caused more chaos than good in the labs and eventually just chilled with ana and solomon in their house like roomies

when ana got pregnant they fussed over her SO much, even more than solomon because We’re Experts, Ana, We Have The Entire Internet To Our Disposal We Can Take Care Of A Pregnant Woman

and then when aleks was born they were like Holy Fuck A Babby and fussed over her too. she even called keshi dada once and he had to go lay down and cry for a while

everyone was charmed by aleks and the company was getting tons of publicity over our roboboys, really everything was going great

and then solomon and ana began to argue. day and night, always yelling and screaming and crying while hiro and takeshi had to take aleks down to the lab and take care of her while they were just constantly fighting

no one had any idea what the arguments were about; every time the androids asked they were threatened with being scrapped and every lab assistant and scientist that asked about it was fired on the spot

and then ana left. she left the company, she left her husband, she left her best friends, and she left her baby too

and she never came back; no one ever heard of her since.

only days after, solomon was found dead in his room, clutching a picture of ana in his hand

so hiro and takeshi raised aleks. while there were huge conferences and annoying media coverage, everyone agreed that they were fit to raise her

so they did! for twenty four years. and everything went okay.

for a long time the company sort of sat dormant, they stayed open by selling little robot dogs and trinkets and the publicity from hiro and takeshi (despite them being old news now) kept them going

h and t didn’t want her to feel obligated to join the company because of family, so they raised her away from it, but she still gravitated towards engineering so they were like. ‘fuck it. let her own the whole company.’ for her 16th bday

so she sort of. brought it back to life. she created a shit ton of innovative stuff that blew customers DICKS off and the company slowly just began to annihilate the competition again

this is aleks, btw. this ones only a few months old

i drew her Very Angry for whatever reason but she’s very bubbly and sweet! she’s an absolute doll, which is some of her appeal to audiences

and Then. Then, Baby, a new company appeared and the ceo was essentially just ‘HEY sluts we made artificial intelligence!! we’re so epic!!’ and our tres Bastardes were super Intrigued because despite them having legitimate competition now it’s new ai; that hasn’t happened in 25 years and they could be cool or be potential friends

so they hauled ass over to the company to see these Buffoons in person and There They Are Baby

some announcer tells the crowd (including trois Lads) about them. their names are kenji and natsuo and they act realistically human, they can answer questions, react to stimulation, etcetera

and it’s pretty cool, but the robots aren’t. doing anything. they’re just there to be showcased and it makes our brobots Sad because androids should Be Free In The Wild

and they’re just about to leave before kenji turns and gives hiro a look that sends shivers down his spine

here’s our boys, by the way:

kenji (top) was drawn the same day as aleks was so he looks kinda better, nat was drawn about a year ago and this design is somewhat outdated

all i can say about these two lovely boys without spoiling the rest of the plot is that despite how quiet and angry they seem they really are even bigger dorks than hiro and keshi

anyway! that’s all i can give out without, you know, telling y’all the entire story. i’m actually writin a novel so while i doubt it’ll ever even get done i wouldn’t like to spoil the ending :) i hope the two people that read this enjoy it!!!
