My Choices Edits Masterlist (NOTE: List is subject to frequent updates)
You can also see all my edits by searching #cadybear's edits on my profile or on Tumblr, but it'll be a very incomplete list because Tumblr's search functions are ass. Plus a handful of the posts on my profile are just my own reblogs of my stuff.
So, here's a more collective and organized list.
And I do indeed accept requests/suggestions for edits! However, they can take a while, and I do reserve the right to turn down a request if it's something I'm uncomfortable with editing or is way out of my league of editing skills.
Update 04/30/2024: All HSS edits have now been given their own masterlist due to the 100 link limit on Tumblr. The link to this new list is included under the cut.

Turmoil in Tampa
“The most important relationship a head coach has on his team is with the QB. He’s the one who runs the show on the field; he’s the ultimate extension of his coach. If there isn’t a high level of mutual trust between them, both coach and QB will be doomed.”-Bruce Arians- The self proclaimed QB Whisperer
What we are witnessing in Tampa is nothing short of a disaster. Bruce Arians has continually thrown Tom Brady under the bus with taking zero accountability (which he has been known to preach on). Seems as though Arians has been trying to get out in front of all this to make excuses to keep his job. News flash, your offensive scheme blows. There has never been an NFL offense that has had the “no risk it- no biscuit” & won a Super Bowl. The chucking & slinging the ball all over the field has never & will never work. Bruce Arians has been historic in his teams interceptions. In 1998 Peyton Manning threw league & career high 28 picks with the next 2 seasons at 15 a piece. He goes to Cleveland & his QB throws 21, 22, 18 picks. Takes over in Pittsburg in 07 with 14, 15, 14, 9, 15 even with Tomlin wanting a run first offense, Arians allowed for Big Ben to be sacked an astonishing 215 times in just 5 years. Which is an issue in Tampa in itself with there being so much interior rush pressure he can’t step into his throws. News flash if you want to throw deep you have to have protection or use play action. Brady is has been hit the 5th most in the league. Back to the topic in 2012 gets Andrew Luck (the best prospect since Manning) throws 18 picks 1 behind league leader Drew Brees also gets Luck sacked 41 times. Goes to Arizona 22 picks 41 sacks, 12 picks 28 sacks, 13 picks 25 sacks, 17 picks 40 sacks, 18 picks 52 sacks. Bruce then goes to Tampa where his QB throws a historic 30 picks against 47 sacks. The down the field attack DOES NOT WORK.
PLAY ACTION
Play action allows time for the QB to get extra protection by freezing the linebackers and gives the safety’s something extra to think about, allowing the receivers to find open spaces & take those shots down the field. Seems to me when they go play action Brady is able to find the open guy down field between Godwin & Gronk.
MOTION
Everyone & their mom knows you use pre snap motion to be able to determine if the coverage is man or zone. The Bucs lead the league in the lowest usage of pre snap motion. Arians has put Brady on blast for not reading the coverage correctly, hey Bruce it makes it a little easier if you use motion so your QB can get you in the right play. Arians has also said we make our reads after the snap of the ball. What? What kind of offense operates like that. Tom Brady has made his career by knowing what the defense is in and making calls to put his team in the best spots & mythically marching the ball down the field knowing where he is going with the ball before the ball is even snapped.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO AS A COACH
The thing that separates a good coach from a great coach is the ability to use their roster to its strength. The Patriots operated in a way that allowed for Brady to make presnap calls with routes, line protection, audibles all at Bradys will. With Arians its break the huddle and snap the ball. Literally. There is no looking at the defense making line calls from Brady or Jensen, audibles, hots, nothing. Why have one of the smartest players to ever play the game not use his best asset; his brain. Over the 20 years Tom was in New England I never saw him glaze over his wristband as long as he has to after the huddle breaks. That is a sign that Tom is not comfortable with the play call or he knows it won’t work. Arians & Byron Leftwich calling these plays has to have him thinking “why am I letting this paint drinker & former scrub QB call these plays”.
THERE IS NO SCHEME
There is no game plan each week. It’s the same offensive sets, same route concepts, same predictable play calling. Receivers just running around, not being able to read coverage. Every week I watch this team on offense I see the same plays & a massive inability to adjust during the game. Live & die by no risk it- no biscuit. It is gut wrenching football to watch with all that talent the Bucs have.
WHAT TOM NEEDS TO DO
During this bye week for the Bucs he needs to walk into Arians offense telling him to put down the booze & kit kats & tell him we need to run the offense that we ran in New England. After all why would you bring in Tom Brady and tell him “hey scrap what has made you the greatest of all time and try this”. When Manning went to Denver he walked in the coaches office & told them we are running the Tom Moore offense & guess what, it worked. Why would you ask a 43 year old QB to throw in 50 yards down the field once out of every 3 plays. Doesn’t seem like a good formula.
DEFENSE
In 4 of the 5 loses the Bucs have had have been because they have played soft zone & only rushed 3 or 4 guys. Hey heres a great idea, lets sit back in soft zone against Drew Brees, Jared Goff & Nick Foles. Oh here is an even better idea, lets guard Tyreek Hill 1 on 1 with no safety help. I wonder if after they first quarter of that Chiefs game Arians wondered hmmm maybe we should double Hill & Kelce after 7 catches for 203 yards 2 TDs IN ONE QUARTER for Hill alone.
Everything is out of sync for the Bucs, offense, defense, coaching, it’s all the more evidence how much football is culture, coaching & executing.
TOM HAS PART OF THE BLAME
Shame on Tom for thinking he could make this work. To go down to Tampa where Arians has a reputation & offensive scheme that makes no sense. Shame on Tom for being so oblivious to the fact that he would be getting into an offense that is called by Byron Leftwich. Toms arm strength is still good, he still has a lot of velocity on the ball & still throws a tight spiral but the timing with his receivers & communication is very off. Mike Evans looks like he only knows how to run straight. He has no awareness on how to read a defense, get to the hot spot and sit in the correct spot; the guy just can’t figure out what he is supposed to run unless he is running a go. Gronk should have stayed retired, tho he has looked better than at the beginning of the year. The running backs are HORRIBLE. Tom has always had someone to come out of the backfield that can catch little flats, swings, screens, Texas routes etc. It’s pretty clear why no one wanted Fournette, RJ2 is so hit or miss but can’t catch passes either. The Bucs receivers & backs lead the league in drops. Tom has put the ball into tight windows all year, sometimes it comes down to being able to haul in those passes when you have tight 1 on 1 coverage. Toms glazed over look during these games I completely believe is because he knows this offense will not work unless he is the one running it how he wants to run it & unless Arians sobers up & realizes that then Tom will be trying to get Josh McDaniels down there to take over as the next head coach.
Tom Brady is #1 in the NFL in On Target Throws, Air Yards, Air Yards per play, & 2nd in Completed Air Yards. Tom Brady is playing at a high level but they don’t have everything together. They need to take the bye week, have a come to Jesus meeting & decide what they are going to be on offense & who is going to call the shots. I 100% believe if Tom runs the offense the Bucs can win a playoff game or 2. How they are looking now they are almost a sure lock for a first round exit.

Hmmm, thought I had posted this but evidently I didn’t, it was supposed to be a multichapter but I couldn't figure out how to continue it.
Toward Tomorrow
”Hey Lucy, what do I look like?” Came to a playful snicker from Lucy’s now open window as a young man with vibrant spiked pink hair that seemed like it hadn’t met a hairbrush in weeks pulled himself into the windowsill. Although the guild liked to joke otherwise, Natsu was quite handsome, not classically like Gray or princely like Loke but he held a certain spark that drew one's eye.
“What do you mean?” Lucy absently hummed as she sorted through clothes, holding up a powder blue sweater with an inquisitive look before tossing the sweater to the side with a derisive shrug.
“I mean, what do I look like?” Natsu responded with a slightly impatient edge to his naturally husky voice. At his tone, Lucy glanced his way to take his appearance in. The sunlight seemed to dance on his hair in knots and waves, one moment a soothing salmon color the next a bright Sakura pink, almost as if it couldn’t decide what color it wanted to be and changes from moment to moment. Oddly enough it perfectly suited his tan skin and his sharp dark olive green eyes that often sparkled with mischief. The mischief that wasn’t absent now as Natsu rocked back on his heels in order to gain a more comfortable balance on the window, a bright fanged smirk gently pulling on his lips as he studied the blonde.
Lucy was supposed to be packing for the 100-year quest that Natsu claimed they were going on, they just were now awaiting Makarov’s permission to do so which they surely would receive. Of course, Lucy was taking forever to pack, choosing each outfit carefully despite knowing it probably wouldn’t matter anyway when it came down to a fight. Natsu thought she looked beautiful always, even though he wouldn’t say it aloud with her in earshot, the only one he had openly admitted his feelings to was Happy and he was tied and bound in secrecy under the threat of no fish for a month.
Lucy looked especially beautiful to him right now, a millennial pink knit sweater suited her pearly skin, bringing out a natural blush under her skin that’s not ordinarily seen unless you were looking for it. Her hair was tied back in a curled ponytail with a simple white ribbon and white ruffled skirt that ended mid-thigh accentuated her legs that seemed to go on for days before ending in a pair of delicate sandals. Natsu felt a warm glow of pride when he saw a pair of gold flash from Lucy’s ears as she bent to scrutinize a pair of dark jeans. A pair of red ruby eyes glared back at him in the form of two small dragon shaped dangly earrings, they were a gift for Lucy’s birthday a month before and it amused Natsu to no end to see her wear them so often.
Natsu knew he didn’t own Lucy, that he had no claim over her, she was her own person and couldn’t possibly ever be owned. But the fact that he had managed to give her a that she appreciated so much gave him a warm feeling in his heart.
Lucy quirked her eyebrow as she saw his eyes falter and glaze over slightly as he asked that question again, “Like the same Natsu I’ve always known, am I supposed to notice something different today,” Placing a hand on her hip, smoothing down her skirt, “did you get new clothes, cause most of them look the same to me.”
“No… nevermind,” Natsu grumbled, breaking his gaze before flopping forward onto his back, landing with a soft thud on Lucy’s pink comforter before grabbing her pillow and burying his face from view. “Just hurry up already, we are leaving in a few days, we don’t know when we’ll be back so you’ll need you’re more travel-ready clothes anyway. I don’t see why ya wanna pack those daggers you call heels.”
“I know that I still think we should go on one more job before we leave, the more rent money I give to my landlady ahead of time the longer I can help you guys finish whatever this quest is. It doesn’t have to be a big one, just another months worth of rent should be enough.” Lucy finished with a pleading look, her pink lip poking ever so slightly out in an adorable pout.
“...Alright fine, we’ll take that one job in Hakobe forest clearing out some were-rabbits. Shouldn’t be too dangerous as long as we catch them by surprise.” Natsu reluctantly agreed finally, “Pays 200,000 Jewel, that sound like enough to you, we’ll stay two days and be back in 4 days.”
“Thank you! You’re the best, a little extra cash never hurt anybody right?” Squealed the excited blonde as she rushed over and squeezed him into a tight hug, Natsu struggling to hide a slight blush as he was painfully aware of how soft her rather large bust was pressed against his own toned muscles. How she didn’t notice how tight her sweater was he didn’t know but he wasn’t gonna complain if it meant he got the occasional sneak peek that other the other guys in the guild drooled after. Just because he respected her as a person doesn’t mean he couldn’t appreciate her gorgeous looks and all its assets.
“I’ll be here tomorrow morning to pick you up and we can walk there.”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN WALK THERE, IT’LL TAKE TWICE AS LONG TO WALK THERE AND BACK!”
“Fine, walk there and train back, unless you want me to have my insides become outsides the entire trip.” Natsu quipped slyly, knowing he won by the way the girl in front of his eye twitched at the prospect of playing nurse the entire trip.
“Fine.”
~~~~~~
“You complain about wasted time and yet you insist we stop at a Hot Spring.”
“Give it a rest Natsu, it was a great deal, two nights and three days for the price of one and there’s a to die for Sauna along with a open bar.” The blond finished with a prideful smirk.
“It’s only a great deal cause they are closing it to be renovated soon and desperately need customers. Probably no one there except a few stragglers and old people” Natsu said dismissively, shuddering slightly at the thought of seeing old crotchety men fight over sauna rights.
Would there be unisex saunas and baths? I hope so, these types of things are better with Luce’s company anyway. Natsu thought, getting slightly excited at the idea of teasing Lucy again for being so embarrassed wearing such a small towel. She was so weird sometimes, at least Happy was staying with Wendy and Carla, the idea of Happy teasing Lucy into a rage was not a pleasing thought even if Happy was his best friend.
“We’re here”
Before them stood the Gin No Taki hot springs, a rather large old Edo-era style building several stories tall with gorgeous paned windows reflecting like mirrors silhouetted by overarching maple trees, their leaves beginning to shift color from green to red in some places, leaves rustling with the gentle breeze and the buzz of nearby cicadas harmonizing with the distant trickling sound of running water. It looked heavenly.
“Let’s go inside!” Lucy squeaked in excitement, grabbing Natsu’s hand and dragging him along in her wake.
After being greeted by the staff and selecting a room, being fitted into their respective yukatas, they finally settled down for a late lunch consisting of a wide variety of local fish and vegetarian delicacies. Not enough protein for Natsu’s taste but it would whatever it takes to keep the tank full.
After choosing a piece of grilled fish with a side of steamed rice and pickled plums, Natsu couldn’t help glancing at the woman beside him. His jaw slightly going slack at the vision before him, a almost shimmering periwinkle robe hugged her curves, accentuating every crevice. Clouds and cranes dances across the fabric, almost luring him into finding out where they lead, where the clouds and birds chase on the river's breeze adorning the blonds skin. Her hair was pinned into a loosely braided bun held together with a set of pins adorned with silver crescent moon and stars, her hair almost seemed to shimmer pure gold in the afternoon light.
Being caught in a daze Natsu didn't immediately catch what Lucy said until she repeated herself with a slight laugh.
“You look nice Natsu” She giggled, hiding her smile behind her hands in amusement, having noticed his ogling a moment before.
“Thanks” Replied Natsu stupidly, staring down at his own chest. His was a lot more barbaric than hers, black with fire breathing dragons spiraling across it, he felt a certain pride while wearing it as the mere decorations injected him a with a new boldness he didn’t know he needed before. Interesting.
“Have you checked out the saunas yet, I heard there's a communal one… if you want to join me? I-I mean you don’t have to, just don't want to be separated from my partner is all haha” Lucy finished nervously letting loose a shaky chuckle, unconsciously nudging the shoulder of her robe off, displaying more lush cleavage.
Gulping and trying to hide his own blush, Natsu replied as nonchalantly as possible so as to avoid suspicion, “ Yeah, I’ve seen it, we can go if you want, doesn’t really matter to me” Yes it does “ And probably shouldn’t be apart for too long in case something happens to ya”
“Y-Yeah, well, my back is feeling a little stiff carrying that backpack all day, let’s meet there in an hour, ‘kay?
“Fine”
~~~~~~
“You’ve got to be kidding me”
The sauna was packed with at least half the members of SaberTooth. Apparently, Sting had thought it would be a good idea to have a guild-wide excursion to this exact hot spring to celebrate a recent unspecified victory of theirs. Which meant there was almost no room in the damn sauna, not with everyone filling it to the brim. Lucy’s eyes searched over the crowd of heads spying a pink head conversing loudly with Sting.
Picking through the crowd, squeezing her way past a gossiping Minerva, Lucy finally made her way over to Natsu, only come to find out it was just as crowded. Natsu put the man in man-spreading, Mavis does he have no shame? Sting was no better, if not worse.
“Lucy, It’s been a while, how you been? Come sit with us” Called Sting, beckoning her over, oblivious to the seating situation.
“ Yeah come sit” Natsu joined in, ignoring her indignant sputtering; “ I was just telling him about that time we went Celestial spirits realm thing. It was wild man, even if they are so weird. I’ll never understand how Lucy deals with them.”
“Maybe cause they listen when I’m talking to them, if you haven’t noticed there’s nowhere for me to sit peabrain.” Lucy groaned in exasperation.
“Yes there is, right here” Natsu smirked, smacking his thigh, “If ya wanted a seat you should’ve just asked.”
“No way, I’ll just wait until someone moves”
“Suit yourself” Chirped Natsu, eyes glimmering with amusement at the flustered girl. “By the way, met someone on the way in here. Apparently, they had the same idea on going to a cheap hot spring”
“Aye sir!” Came a high pitched voice, “Carla said she wanted to take a bath, kinda weird for a cat to want that but whatever she wants I guess.”
A familiar blue cat came floating lazily into view only to stop to sit on the bench next to Natsu’s right leg, “You’re all sweaty Lushi”.
“Uh, thats the point dummy.”
“NATSU, LUCY IS BEING MEAN AGAIN.”
“AM NOT!”
Natsu could only double over in laughter as his Nakama argued over what the point of a sauna was. That amusement only doubled as Lucy, who had not been paying attention to her surroundings, was bumped from behind and toppled over.
Well, almost toppled over, if it weren’t for the fact that Natsu caught her just in time, pulling her firmly into his lap between his spread legs. A rosy blush soon bloomed across the girls pretty cheeks in a heated flush, quickly becoming aware of the precariousness of the situation she has now found herself in.
Natsu’s warmed calloused hand spanned across her flat stomach, fingertips peeking just under her thin white towel and ever so slightly squeezing the underside of her full breasts under his firm grip, holding her close to him.
Heart racing at this sudden action, Lucy couldn’t help but glance at the man for only to find that he was now engaged in a rather one-sided conversation with Rogue, who seemed rather disinterested sauna as a whole.
Relaxing slightly, Lucy leaned back into his well-toned chest, feeling the ripple and flex of his pectorals and abs after each laugh, after each breath. Lucy took note of the water and steam collecting in the laugh lines of his face and dusted his hair like diamonds. He was exquisite, he was exotic, he was might she dare say enticing. He looked like a god.
Feeling a bit bolder, she pressed even firmer back against him, wiggling her butt to fit more snugly against his shoulder and lean her head on his collarbone. Only to stop when she felt him stiffen slightly at the motion and relax again.
Lip quirking slightly, Lucy repeated the motion again, a bit firmer this time. Making sure to push the softness of her rear to the apex of his thighs, daring him to respond. And he did.
Fingers tightened around her waist, slipping even farther under the fold of her towel. A low, rough growl rumbled from the chest next to her ear, exciting her, and challenging a deeper part of herself.
“What do you think you are doing”

this was not a situation he thought he would even make it to. perhaps it was the residual lack of self confidence that still stormed its way through his mind at the most inopportune of moments that made him think this way but each week that passed where his name was not called during eliminations felt far too surreal for him to simply acknowledge his presence on the MGAs as a solidified fact. nothing was for sure in this show nor was it in this business and so he made it a point to not take his continued chance for granted. he’d have to come back stronger each time.
he was aware of his position when compared to the other contestants. or rather… his lack of position. when it came to rappers he was competing against a former idol of a group he was actually a fan of and a fan favorite that everyone seemed to love in their interviews. he’d gotten a few commendations but he was never really suited for variety and so his screen time when compared to others was lacking as well. he had what he had going for himself and he needed to make that work else he would be buried alive by the others.
this was something he was sure he had foreseen happening when the next challenge was announced. duos. pairs. a partner.
it rendered him speechless at first. who was she? oh she had been commended by the judges. so she had to be really good. what kind of music would she like? would their images match well? would they be able to keep up with each other? would they even get along? so many thoughts were running through his head and they’d not even had the proper chance to greet one another before they were directed back to their seats.
surely this was going to be a fucking disaster.
however he couldn’t have been more wrong. all of the nerves he went into their collaboration with were soon melted away after their first practice. he would have to adjust to working with others in that regard and sia definitely put him to work. her anxiety inwardly made him anxious. it was written all over her face just how nervous she was, how worried she was about everything. that instability rattled him… but he could empathize with it. he knew firsthand how crippling anxiety could be and not even for the sake of the show but simply for her own peace of mind, he did everything he could to assuage her worries and fears.
he brought food for them from work to eat and get energy for their practices. she seemed at ease when talking about her cat and so many fun stories were exchanged along with promised playdates. she grew comfortable and song suggestions began to enter the conversation and from her observations, she made brilliant suggestions that when he looked at and listened to them, he could see himself within the performance. his music was taking an upward turn. happier. able to connect with others without drawing on the negative. the lyrics of awake especially drew him as he imagined yeji and what she meant to him. the love he felt for the song was instant.
things were progressing smoothly.
they grew closer as they practiced and the more they interacted in the studio and in messages sent back and forth, the more it became easier to be comfortable as they established a natural chemistry to translate into their performance. a week was a short amount of time to fully know someone but they were at ease with each other and there was a mutual trust that their futures were in each others hands and that they were truly in this together. he was the better dancer of the two – a truly relative position to have when they were both beginners – and though they only selected short snippets of the choreography, they wanted it as perfect as possible. the moves would brighten the song – the entire atmosphere they were going for – and they wanted to make sure it remained an asset and not something detrimental.
there was an adjustment period for him that he couldn’t ignore though. to rap someone else’s lyrics as though they were his own. it was odd. having to follow someone else’s flow when his own flow switched up and changed on his own whim was something he had to find comfort in to be able to find confidence in someone else’s lyrics. he had to suspend his own creative difference from the original lyrics and instead find himself within them and when he approached it differently – as though he were looking at a script – pieces began to fall into place. yeji. this was for her.
they went shopping to agree on outfits for the stage and though his hair was such a hassle in his eyes, they were able to agree on a look that would be comfortable for them both and keep the youthfulness and playfulness of the song alive. it was different than what he was used to but when they wore their outfits in the store and stood with one another in the mirror, he could really see the picture come together. the loving atmosphere of the song. their skills. their stage presence.
this would work. he could feel it.
—–
the day had finally come.
he’d woken up that morning feeling really good and though he was nervous about performing with someone else in a genre that he was beginning to adventure into, he was glad that he was getting the chance to do it with sia. they both had a quiet kind of charisma and it seemed like it would be hard for them to burst out of their shells but when they were on stage it was an entirely different concept. what was practiced was performed with natural execution and what was improvised was received and reciprocated with comfortable chemistry. her greeting made him smile, the trademarked words of hers followed up with his own casual introduction that he’d adjusted to since joining the MGA’s. “hey, i’m vernon.” they interchanged as they spoke about the song, a smile rising to his eyes as he spoke into the microphone before they took their spots. “hopefully this gets you thinking about your first love in the best of ways.”
they circle round each other in the beginning of the choreography and each snap is achieved with practiced rhythmic accuracy. not a beat was missed. sia’s voice lifted up from behind him with their backs pressed to one another and he used the opportunity to use what his former pr agent said was one of his best assets: his face. he smiled a charming smile that colored his salted caramel hued eyes a playful happiness that when he thought of the lyrics shone just a bit brighter as he knew his own first love was right there in the room with him, the look directed back towards sia appropriately. the way the bass of the song underneath the building dance beat kept him entranced energized him and the confidence he had on stage kept him easy. he was thankful for his continued dance lessons that removed the stiffness from his moves in the little bits of choreography they’d decided to use so as the spotlight was turned over to him with a gracious smile from the lovely sia, the weighted microphone was brought to his lips to give the listeners a deep contrast to the bright lightness in sia’s voice as he had a mischievous warmth that would suck them into the bass drop.
Ay 깊은 안갯속에 난 길을 잃어가 너란 빛을 따라가 네게 닿을지 라 I’m falling down 끝이 없는 걸 어서 Baby 를 깨워 줘
he kept the fun in the delivery as the entire song radiated an addictive energy, his hand coming over his cheek as though he were asleep, his eyes closing, with a light shake of his head before he opened them as though surprised, a smile beaming across his features at the cute act. not a single word was missed, his clear and audible delivery something he prided himself on with each syllable tended to in order to keep the freshness of love in each word. he gives sia the stage with an exit as though being pulled away towards her, the tug on his sleeve turning his effervescence her way with a hand naturally coming up to affectionately rest at the hair at the crown of her head as his lines begin again, bringing himself to separate away from her as he clutches his chest as though separating was driving him crazy to find his spot for the highlight of their performance.
매일 봐도 모르겠어 Baby 니가 보고 싶어 Oh crazy
as the chorus began and their voices fell into sync – a harmony they worked hard together to achieve with sia’s singing abilities coming in handy to find a tone they could fit together with his very minimal experience – they fell into the choreography that embodied the bouncy exhilaration the song was composed of, his smile sincerely one that showed his enjoyment of what he was doing. they had perfected the parts they were able to do as a craft and seamlessly transitioned the parts they were unable to do out for different moves that would instead express their overjoy. they moved together, one after the other, to form the heart they had worked into the chorus, his radiant smile tamed as the bass dropped and he sucked the audience back into his words. because every word had importance and he gave them attention to give them meaning that he could feel and that those who were feeling a really strong love could feel.
you wake me up with your mind you wake me up with your mind you wake me up with your
You wake me up with your You wake me up with your mind
I’m on your side, you’ll be my sign 조금씩 빠져들 거야 더 흐릿하던 날들은 너로 선명해져 I got you now 널 보면 Lose my mind
너의 향기로 차올라 Eh 나의 맘은 벅차올라 Eh 잡은 두 손 꼭 놓지 마 Eh
he rode the bass of his rap, his body naturally bobbing to the rhythm as the mix of english and korean dispatched from him showed his deep affinity for hip-hop in the emphasis he put on the rhymes exuding a charisma that he felt in his confidence as a rapper and that was something he never doubted. but he kept it spirited to match the lively dynamic of the song, his hand coming out before him to gesture as he looked directly towards sia as though rapping to her, his smile playfully smitten and mischievous with all the tenacity in his shining caramel brown eyes of a man 100% sure of the woman that he wanted. he dropped the mic as he looked at her, her lines taking over his eyes on her forming deep set crescents as she hit her notes as though he were proud, his eyes still set on her even as he delivered his next lines, lightly taking her hand for the second line before breaking free from her again to find his position for the chorus once more.
매일 봐도 모르겠어 Baby 니가 보고 싶어 Oh crazy
you wake me up with your mind you wake me up with your mind you wake me up with your
You wake me up with your You wake me up with your mind
their choreography for the chorus burst through refreshingly once more, his adlibs in the back filled with energy as he released a happy ‘whoo’ and ‘come on’ in the empty space between their synchronized lines until they were made to come together once again, their heads coming to rest together instead of a heart to end off the song. her finger hearts go up and his hands form a circle over his mouth that he bites into a heart, the exhilaration of the stage still very strong for him even as he bows before they take their exit.
for all of the doubts that he had going into the stage, he performed at his utmost confident state, allowing himself to really feel the song and get into it while syncing with his partner to create a fun, playful and innocent stage depicting all the wonders of a first love. the entire time all he could think about was yeji. he’d performed it with her in his heart and he hoped that she could feel it and he hoped that everybody who watched could feel their love in their hearts too.

Week 5 & 6 - Mini Animation Project
For this week’s task, we are going to create an animation based on what we’ve learnt over the past few weeks. Moreover, we only have one week to create the animation, and so we’ve decided to use Roald Dahl’s work for the animation. Furthermore, we also do have the option to choose which quote we are going for, and I chose a quote from ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.
'Boggis and Bunce and Bean One fat, one short, one lean. These horrible crooks So different in looks Were none the less equally mean.'
Source: https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/article?articleId=100-roald-dahl-quotes
The reason I chose this quote was that it is engaging and I can create an animation that could look interesting as well. At this point, I already have a few ideas in mind as to what I wanted to develop. However, before I can even begin to create the animation in Adobe After Effect, I’d need to create quick sketches of my ideas first.
I drew small thumbnails of a storyboard to quickly generate ideas, rather than doing a big drawing as it could take me a long time. For my first idea, I wanted to use simple geometric shapes for the animation. As shown in the image below, Boggis is a circle, Bunce is a triangle, and Bean is a rectangle. These shapes show their appearance such as circle is round and big, meaning fat. For the triangle, I could make it smaller to fit the appearance of Bunce, while Bean is a rectangle as he is described as being lean.
I have an idea to create the transition between the characters using the techniques called, ‘Morphing’. What it does is converting one shape to another, which is perfect for this particular animation.
Another idea I’ve generated is turning Boggis, Bunce, and Bean into bird characters. The reason was that I wanted this animation to have a sense of humour into it to create interests, and I turn them into birds to do just that, as I could create the birds to have funny appearances.
The next thing I did was coming up with a mood board showing all the interesting appearances of the birds and what colour schemes I am going to be using.
Once I have the mood board set, I then coming up with quick sketches of the birds. I’d also have to take their appearances into the considerations as Boggis is fat, Bunce is short, and Bean is lean. I didn’t want to draw the characters too complicated as I’d have to re-create it in Adobe Illustrator again.
Once the characters have been designed, I then create a mini-storyboard showing all the ideas of how it all going to connect and my planning in general.
I have also decided to go with my second idea as I thought it was pretty funny and engaging to the audience. I knew that by going with the second idea, it would be time-constraint as I’d have to create all the assets in Illustrator, and then animating it in After Effect. Not to mention, this mini project’s deadline is in one week, however, to compensate that - it was a great choice going for a simple character's design as this would save me a tremendous amount of time designing it in Adobe Illustrator.
In Adobe Illustrator, I have created all of the assets with each feature in separate layers. The reason why I do this was, for instance - if I wanted to have the wing and tail move, I’d need to have these in separate layers as Adobe After Effect will not recognise each feature that is in the same layer; therefore, I have to do it manually.
Furthermore, I created different variations to experiment with colours and how the birds are going to be displayed. Moreover, I decided to go with the bottom ones as I really like the outline of the character, which has a drawing feel to it, and it makes it perfect for this particular animation.
The next thing I did was create assets for the close-up shot, and an introduction to the characters at the beginning.
As for the transition between each scene, I decided to use different variations of plants covering up the composition which later on changes the scene once the plant has been moved out of the composition. This creates an entertaining and engaging animation to the audience, and it fit perfectly with the simplistic characters that I have designed.
The creation process for these plants assets is the same. It was created in Adobe Illustrator while making sure that each plant is in its own individual layers. In extension to that, I went a step further ahead and exported these assets into Adobe Photoshop so that I can add textures into them to create interests as opposed to having just a plant vector with no textures.
Once all of the assets are made and exported into Adobe After Effect, it is time for me to animate it. However, there are a few things that need to be considered and prepare before that. For instance, the character assets that I have exported - I need to make sure that the assets are layered correctly and are placed in the correct orders. After that, I need to parent some of the assets to the body of the character so that it moved as a whole, and finally - making sure that the anchor points are placed in the correct position to where I want to animate from. In addition to that, I need to make sure to pre-composed all the layers as this will keep everything organised.
Once everything is in order and placed correctly for all of the assets, from the characters to the plants. It is now time for me to animate. It may seem really confusing and intimidating given how there are a lot of assets to use for the animation and a lot of planning and timing involved. However, at a time like this, it is always best to have a storyboard at hands so that I will know exactly what I need to be doing first and break it down into step-by-step.
Following the storyboard, the first scene that I need to be animating is a close-up and an introduction scene for Boggis. This is really simple to get started as there are not a lot of moving elements for this scene, except for his eyes and hair. I animated his eye using the position keyframes while making sure that the keyframes are placed at a distance from each other to get the timing correct, and overall, make it look natural. As for his hair, it is a little simple, and all I have used is the rotation keyframe to animate slight movements.
As for the animation for Bunce, I tried to make it funny by only displaying the top of his head, given how he is described as being short. This one is also easy to animate as well as the only element that I need to be animating is his hair. I wanted his hair to have subtle wiggle movements, and to do that - I am going to use the tool called ‘Puppet Position Pin Tool’. This tool allows me to freely manipulate his hair using the pin indicator. I placed one pin at the tip of his hair while the other one is behind the head. To animate it, I move the tip of his hair to the desired position while moving the keyframes to get the action in.
Meanwhile, for Bean, I didn’t want to animate anything as I thought it would be funny this way. I tried to also make it funny for Bean by making him so tall that he could hardly fit into the scene - which is why I decided not to animate anything.
The next step for me is to animate a fast moving scene where the character is described by their appearances. To do this, I created a floor in Adobe Photoshop to illustrate where the character should be standing, and I will also be animating only the floor. The way I go about making this is positioned the character at the centre and parent it to the floor. This way, when I animate the position keyframe of the floor, the character will move with it.
To animate the floor, all I did was use the position keyframe and carefully planned out the distance between each keyframe to make the movement natural. I then set the easy ease to smooth out the animation.
At this point, I realised that not animating the character would look dull and plain. It was a good idea to make a fast-moving introduction of the characters. However, I wanted to make it look even more natural, and the best way to go about this is animating the character when the floor moves back and forth.
What this means is that when the floor come into the scene, I will be animating the character’s body position, the character’s neck, and tail. These slight movements can have significant changes in the animation that I have created as it gives the character a personality and made it look more dynamic.
To properly explain this, what I mean by animating the neck and body position is when the floor is moving so fast into the scene, the character will actually be leaning backwards as well as his neck. I will be animating it the opposite when the floor suddenly made a stop - this will give the animation a sense of speed.
Once completed, I repeated the process for Bunce and Bean and ready to move on to the next scene. As for the next scene, I will be animating this part from the quote: “These horrible crooks. So different in looks.”
For this scene, it is easy for me as I didn’t have to animate anything, but rather position the character correctly. I will be re-using the characters I have already animated for this scene as it would save me a tremendous amount of time. I placed the character right next to one another and pre-composed all of the layers. I then animate the pre-composed layer using the position keyframe to create the panning effect.
To finish the animation off, the last animation will require extra attention and detail as I have to animate all three of the characters individually. The final scene quote is: “Were none the less equally mean.”, and to animate this part - I wanted to make the characters looking silly and doing silly things which were supposed to be funny.
For Boggis, I made him look like he was dancing by moving up and down. I animated him by using the position keyframe and set the distance equal to one another to create a consistency movement. I also animated his neck by using the rotation keyframe, as well as his tail. As for his wings, I made it look like he was flapping his wing twice by animating the scale to about -100% and this gives the illusion that his wing is actually flapping.
For Bunce, I made him trying to fly for a short distance and back down to the floor again. The animation in itself is simple as all I did was animate him flying using the position keyframe, while making sure that I get his wing flapping correct. As he ascends from the floor, his wing will be flapping really hard, some in mid-air, and some of it as he’s slowly descending to the floor again.
Moreover, I have also animated his body and neck position using the rotation keyframe to make it look natural. For instance, If Bunce were to fly to the left side, his body language would need to move to the left as well as his neck as this signifies that he is moving left. This also makes the animation looked more natural and dynamic which is fundamental and note not to miss out on.
For Bean, I animated him similar to how I animated Boggis as I really want to make him do a funny and silly dance. Bean was animated using only the rotation keyframe such as his body, feet, tail, and neck. There isn’t anything complicated for Bean animation process at all.
Last but not least, for the transition animation - this is something that will be taking me the most time as I would have to animate the plants individually and there are about nine plants in total. I also think that I can get away by copying the keyframes to save time and changes some of it to create variations.
The plants will be animated using the position keyframes as well as the rotation keyframe to make it appear to cover the composition. It is rather a simple process but time-consuming. Moreover, I could also easily turn these keyframes into easy ease to save time. However, I really wanted to go the extra mile and make the animation look more dynamic, and to that - I decided to use the graph editor.
I can easily manipulate the motion between each keyframe to my desire using the graph editor, and it is a very useful tool in creating a beautiful animation. I wanted some of the plants to move into the composition slowly, while some move in quickly to create different variations. Moreover, I need to pay extra attention to details and see the movement between each keyframe as I really want the plant to flow smoothly, and no sudden movements.
While I was at it, I also animated some of the particles that came flying when the plants move into the scene. This was created easily using the ellipse and rectangle shapes available in Adobe After Effect. I then use the position keyframes to move the particles in random places. Moreover, this was done individually, which is why it took me an amount of time to complete, but nonetheless - I am satisfied with the subtle movements in the animation which makes it look ten times better without the particles.
Moreover, I also repeated some of the particle processes by pre-composing it and duplicating the layers - changing the position and rotation of the pre-composed layer to create different variations.
I have also added some plants into the final scene to create some interests into the scene and visually make it look colourful as opposed to having just the birds there.
Once the animation is completed, the next step I did was render the animation into a movie file and importing the movie file into Adobe Premiere Pro. The reason why I imported it to there was that I wanted to add music and sound effects into the animation, and the best place for me to do that was in Premiere Pro. Sure, I could also do it in After Effect, however, since the project is layered with different assets and all of the pre-composed layers, I thought it would confuse me in the process. Besides, I already have prior knowledge on how to use Adobe Premiere Pro anyway, which makes it my choice into adding the sound effect.
This is a list of websites I used to get my soundtracks and sound effects:

Freesound

The PPPC
Once on Florzan, one of the core planets and owned equally by all members of the Intergalactic Council, the tests began almost immediately. The impromptu leader of the Humans, Human Brian, Dictated that Saiko and himself would be used for the survival and fitness portion, the other two for dissection, modification, and research for nullifying any Diseases that may jump the gaps.
Human Brian and Human Saiko, excelled at almost everything physical, able to jump nearly to 100 feet in altitude and land without harm even at terminal velocity. ((Lower Gravity, Lower Terminal Velocity, at 1/100th of Earth gravity, terminal Velocity is only 1.26 feet per second per second or about 5 feet of falling speed per actual second, this is equivalent to jumping off of a 3 foot tall ledge on Earth))
In hand to hand combat both Humans were able to defeat the combat drone in only a couple of seconds, which is a galactic record, mainly due to their ability to jump and throw things accurately. Upon viewing the recording both humans in their separate fights drew a knife made of DIAMONDS from their right leg, and then jumped at an angle where they were above the combat drone, then spun midair releasing the knife with such force that it went through the toughened aluminium structure of the drone straight into the ground beneath it clearing wires and metal alike without mercy. It seemed rehearsed, like they had been training for it.
In the mobility assessment test, both Human Brian and Human Saiko were able to clear the long distance running course in only a few seconds, they did this by jumping, not only off of the ground, but off of whatever came within contact range of their two feet. Flora, such as trees, and rocks, and sometimes the unfortunate fauna, that was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. These poor specimens were smashed into pieces, trees were broken, snapped from just the force of the kickoff. and the rocks were crushed as if they had been thrown into a pulverizer to become dust.
In the physical force assessment, both humans were able to hold, and move with, easily 40 times their body weight, the Human Female released her load at nearly 900 lbs, and the Human Male didnt let go of his load, we are unable to increase weights beyond 1000 lbs so we may never know what the strength of the Human Male is. That said, it seems Human Males are stronger than or equal to the strength of Human Females. The pressure output of a punch by a Human averages out to 44 Gs, this is insane, that is equivalent to a crash landing from orbit, an unarmed attack by a Human would splatter any known alien life form save those with an exoskeleton, or a survival suit.
**************************END PHYSICAL REPORT****************************
In the matter of musculature structure, the Human species is Dense, all alien life use individual muscles that can pull, push, twist, bend, and flex, Humans, however, have muscles that only pull, and push. but have the same flexibility and range of motion as would be expected of any bipedal entity. This is because of the sheer numbers of different muscles with multiple links to the same bones and joints.
In the matter of Durability, their bodies are able to take all kinds of abuse, and any weapon we have only left a bruise against their tough bodies. Even lacking an exoskeleton our hand cannon anti-personnel-weapons were unable to puncture their skin.
Their bodies act completely free from thought, they blink, breathe, and move, often without thinking of the individual muscles that allow it, but as if being controlled by autopilot with just willing it to be. Their body, as several glands that produce chemicals easily able to kill anything in contact with them, This varies from highly acidic liquid used to digest food, to slightly acidic liquid which exists almost continuously in their mouths, and can be expulsed at a high fire rate as a weapon. The most Frightening is a gland in the Brain that produces Adrenaline, a Military grade combat chemical which almost entirely removes the subjects barriers to strength and has been banned across the galaxy. It cannot be removed without the death of the specimen and thus we must leave it untouched.
**********************END OF CHEMISTRY REPORT***********************
While on board the Human Leader was able to reprogram our ships computer, it now refuses to contact us or respond to commands unless we refer to it as mother. The leader also overwrote and broke the food replication unit on board, so that so long as the device has the basic chemical matter in the vicinity it can recreate anything, from diamonds made out of carbon, aluminium oxide, and iron oxide, to explosive devices using sulfur and phosphorous.
Even though this species is from a backwater planet and uncapable of faster than light travel, even individuals unfamiliar to technology are able to improve upon it, and, more terrifying the human species is talented at mimicry, all 4 human subjects not only learned Galactic Basic in under a week, the two more frightening humans, the smokers, were able to learn and understand Mantiine Core Language, something even computerized translators fail at.
I suggest extreme caution for if the humans receive a score below what they want I fear they will rebel, and nothing we have can stop them.
The only good factor about them is that they desire to be useful, for the most part, 3/4 of the subjects requested positions on my vessel, and I’ve denied all.
***************************END OF REVIEW REPORT**********************
Test Score Approved by Commitee
Final Test Result Conclusions
The human Species is an Anomaly, They have broken our tests, and thus we can only rate them the highest of all species. additionally we give the warning to all Species, galaxy wide, that Humans are essentially like the GODS of most of our ancestors. THEY ARE STRONG, THEY ARE SMART, THEY ARE DANGEROUS, and most importantly they CANNOT, EVER, KNOW THIS.
Treat humans as if they are just another species, Tell them they scored 4th as a species, and hopefully, by the time they creep into the stars, they will be eclipsed by a race stronger than themselves.
There is Nothing worse than a Bored God, Keep them busy, we Request any vessel looking for personnel to hire the Humans should they desire employment. This species is extremely strong and will be a great asset to the advancement of the Galactic community as a whole. So long as they dont know that they are better than all of us.
Actual Test Score 1,000,000 pts of 20,000 possible.

Week 5 - Jade - 2D Asset Designing
Since my part of the storyboard was good to go for the final or third pass, I had to work on the character breakdown of the girl in several shots. That actually took way longer than I was thinking it was going to take. I thought I’d just copy the poses in each of the frames, then draw each of the parts separated and then color. But I underestimate how long it takes me to draw things. And how long it takes to place every single separated piece of the character in its own layer on Photoshop. That is probably what drew the time out longer. And I’m not 100% confident that they look good or will look consistent with the actual design of the character. It was way less stressful when doing the storyboard since I didn’t have to worry about the art style matching. Although, as long as this is only like the first pass of these and it’ll get changed to be more consistent later, then I will be more satisfied.

Infographic Development
With a better understanding of this project and how I will be executing it I carried on where I left off with the infographic. I wanted to visualise carbon dioxide being absorbed within ozone and the effects of this, trapping more heat within the atmosphere. I created the ozone by drawing a squashed elipse on a shape layer. Then adding a ‘roughen edges’ effect to get rid of its solid edges, giving it more of a cloud look, then I used the ‘wave warp’ effect to add some movement to the shape, I had to reduce the parameters within this effect drastically as I wanted the movement to be as subtle as possible. The heat itself are simple paths with ‘roughen edges’ and ‘glow’ added to them to roughen the shape and add some glare, signifying the transmission of heat, then using a ‘wave warp’ again as they were too static without. I liked how this composition worked visually but when I previewed it within the infographic itself I thought it reduced the pace too much, in addition to this, this is a process that is well documented both in and out of education now. So I thought it best to reference the process in part of my text either side and then moving on to my next section instead, people don't need me to tell them about heat being trapped in ozone and I worried in doing so I may cause people to lose interest - I would rather get into more specific areas in the limited time I have within the video. So in its place I had some text saying simply ‘leading to higher temperatures and poorer air quality’ to describe this process and save time visualising it. Before making this decision final I did consult with my housemates and a few other people I could contact easily on social media to ask what they thought and most people agreed it wasn't something that needed to be documented, or if it did it definitely did not need the amount of time it was allocated. So after consulting with other people I was confident in taking this composition out of the project.
In the following section I once again made a really simple asset, in this case an icon to represent a person. I gave thought to designing a character for this part as it might make it more relatable and in some ways personify the piece. But after giving it some more thought I like the genericness of it as a piece of iconography. When I thought about the design of this asset in terms of its functionality too I found that it would be better suited remaining an outlined icon without a fill or more specific design. As I will be using it as a graph of sorts, duplicating the icon and using a fill to visualise data. As I mentioned in my first blog post documenting my video development I don't want the design of my assets to be distracting from the message they or the accompanying text is trying to relay to the audience. I made this icon in illustrator and exported is as a png for use in After Effects.
I imported the icon png to After Effects and before working on the automation itself I made it a pre-comp so that I could edit it without cluttering my main composition, as I knew there would be a lot of later involved in this section. I duplicated the icon to make 9 iterations, I initially planned to have 10 but I wanted to be able to have one central red icon for the ‘THE WHO ESTIMATES 1 IN EVERY 9 DEATHS ARE LINKED TO POOR AIR QUALITY’ point. After making the required number of duplicates I selected all of the layers and keyframed their position at the centre as well as their opacity. I then scrubbed along my timeline a and keyframed the individual positions of the icons moving out horizontally. This gave me a nice animation, which I thinks works well as when people see the sole icon they think of themselves, then with the remainder of the icons spreading out from this I think it reinforces the message that anybody can be affected and we are all a possibility within these statistics so they should be taken seriously, especially as this section is advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) themselves.
I used a red fill on my central icon to visualise the ‘THE WHO ESTIMATES 1 IN EVERY 9 DEATHS ARE LINKED TO POOR AIR QUALITY’ point, which thankfully was quite straight forward. For the following point ‘and 92% of people live in locations exceeding who limits’ I had fill the remaining icons red and then to communicate the right percentage visually I had to measure the height of the png and use a mask to reduce the fill. This didn't take too long as I had 9 icons and I needed to visualise 92%, meaning I only wanted 10% of the central icon to be red (100 / 9 = 11.1111111111 / 100 = 0.11111111111 x 92 = 10.2%) To bring all of the icons back into the centre, instead of copying the keyframes and reversing them within my pre composition, I just split my pre comp within my main comp, reversed it and added a ‘black and white’ effect to stop a reversed animation of the fills being seen. I really like this animation, I think it is a really clear, simple and relatable visualisation of important information. I do think there is room for updating the design of the icons, possibly increasing the stroke, but in terms of functionality I am really happy with this composition.
Following this I wanted to make a point about increased air temperature and poorer quality having knock on effects in increasing the spread of infectious diseases. I found this through the WHO and it really interested me that a global pandemic had arisen in the midst of the climate crisis, I've seen it being discussed online and I think there is possibility to suggest that Covid-19 may be Mother Nature’s final warning, if we don't change our actions now we may pass the point of no return. So this provided the perfect opportunity for me to bring Covid-19 into the video and create a relation between the climate crisis and Covid as they are talked about in the media as very separate problems, when in some ways they come as a pair. So rather than just being an infographic exploring the climate crisis, of which there have been countless, I wanted to move forward from this point discussing how people can be good to the climate and to themselves during Covid-19 and worldwide lockdowns. To tie into this theme a little more I also drew a pixel art style facemask which could go over my human icon as they are surrounded by bacteria.
To visualise this I used the same icon from the previous section of the video and surrounded them with amoeba/bacteria style assets I had drawn in illustrator. I’m not too pleased with the look of these assets, they will be used really small in scale which makes this less of a problem but I think these are something I will definitely revisit to make them look a little bit slicker. For now though they have the basic elements done well enough so that I can import it to after effects and begin to animate it.
Once I had exported my bacteria png and imported it to my main project I pre composed the file before editing. I drew the bacteria in three slightly different styles as I wanted to try and show some evidence of variance in the bacteria, linking to both different illnesses and in some more specific terms different strains of covid-19. I wanted the animation to be in a stop motion style, which each variant flashing up at different points but not all showing at once. To do this I made three layers of my bacteria png and cropped each one to feature a different variant. From this point I duplicated them in turn and moved each duplicate down the timeline, by placing them sequentially this created the stop motion animation I was after. I didn't think this was enough so within my main composition I added a ‘kaleido’ effect on top of my pre-comp. This repeated the icons around a central position at a smaller scale which made them look more like spores of bacteria which I think is more fitting than having them as larger icons. At this point I had my bacteria icons floating around my human icon which I felt didn't have enough connotations of sickness. So I wanted to make a background that reinforced the growth and spread of bacteria.
To do so I started by making a dark green layer, once again adding a ‘roughen edges’ effect as well as some gaussian blur to smooth some of the edges together again. Following this I added some ‘turbulent displace’ as I wanted some movement within it, rather than using wave warp as I had previously I chose turbulent displace as I wanted the movement to bubble more internally, rather than warp side to side, as to me this connoted growth and division more so than the horizontal movement of a wave warp.
To play into this idea of division more I duplicated this solid layer and used ‘hue/saturation’ to give it a slightly lighter green texture. From this point I made a couple more duplicates of each shade and moved their positions to fill the page, overlapping one another.
I think this section is a turning point in the video as it narrows its focus to climate change in covid-19, it separates itself from a lot of other similar content that has come before it just looking at climate change. I was surprised to find there was a correlation between climate change and the spread of Covid-19 and I hope that this section of the video is where people become really engaged as it combines two prevalent issues that most people likely think are unrelated. in terms of aesthetic I think that some assets can be more detailed but in terms of content and animation I am really pleased with this part of the infographic.

Don’t Buy Me No Flowers
@cocoa-and-rum suggested a florist AU. So, I did.
FF.NET / AO3
Face tensed in concentration, Killian focused on the lilies out before him. The pinks and creams blended together in pleasing harmony, but there was something missing. Texture. Movement. As he reached for his pruning shears he stifled a wry groan. If only his old work mates could see him now. Lieutenant Killian Jones, outstanding officer in her majesty's navy, capable, strong ( masculine )... a florist. Almost, anyway. Once his community college certification was complete.
From the front of the store he heard a soft groan followed by a loud whisper of, “Snickerdoodles!”
Killian smirked. His sister-in-law’s inability to swear never failed to tickle him. Dropping the shears, he headed for the curtain that separated the two parts of the store.
“Alright Else?”
As he stepped into the main part of the business, the blonde was staring intently at a sales note.
“Yes…” she replied, the crease between her brows growing deeper. Then she sighed. “Actually no.”
She turned and placed a hand on the large bump that was barely concealed by her crisp, cream apron. “I took this order earlier and I thought it was for delivery tomorrow, but no, silly Elsa, it’s due for today.”
Killian glanced at the clock above the door that led out onto Main Street. It was almost 5.
“A small mistake, love. You’ve been growing a baby, anyone can forgive you being a little absentminded.”
She gave him a wry smile. “Maybe in some cases, but he specified that they must be delivered by seven pm. And he’s not the kind of person who I’d like to get on the wrong side of.”
“Oh?”
She sighed. “It’s that guy Walsh - who owns the furniture store on Ocean Drive?” Killian nodded his understanding. “Well he always seems nice enough, but that smile of his. It doesn’t reach his eyes. I don’t trust him.”
Killian knew better than to argue against his sister-in-law’s almost supernatural powers of perception when it came to others. “Alright then. Give me the order and I’ll get it ready, we can get leroy into deliver it-”
“He’s already on his way to his brother’s for the weekend. I let him off early. You know how close they are.”
With a shake of his head, Killian was already reaching for the paper in her hand. “Fine, I’ll deliver it. Not like I have any better plans for my Friday night.”
“You really don’t mind?” she asked, her hands concentrating on cradling her bump as he was already turning back to the workroom.
“You concentrate on growing my nephew and I’ll keep your business afloat.”
There was a smile in his tone as he slid back beneath the curtain, her barely audible mutter of ‘Don’t be so cocky,” turning it into a full blown grin.
/
One dozen white roses. Perfectly pruned, wrapped in sheer silver paper and tied with a white bow, as per the very particular instructions given on the order. As he retrieved the flowers from the passenger seat of his car, he checked that the small card he’d written out earlier was still attached. It was there, encased in an ecru envelope, as austere as the rest of the arrangement.
He swung the door closed, his left hand cramping as his fingers flexed against the handle. The muscles went into spasm, clenching and stretching as waited for the attack to finish. After a few seconds, the pain passed and his hand returned to its usual state of limited movement and feeling. He was used to it by now, almost 18 months since the accident that had almost cost him his hand and certainly cost him his career at sea.
Human error, they had said. No one’s fault, was the verdict, following the series of event that crushed his hand. After six months it was clear that he would never regain full use of the appendage. He was never going to be happy behind a desk so he’d taken an honourable discharge and ventured on an extended trip to stay with his brother and his new wife. And here he was still, so many months later.
He shook away thoughts of the turbulent period behind him and checked he had the correct address. Emma Swan- Apt. 5a, 100 Oak Ave . He tucked the details back into his pocket and let him imagine who this Emma Swan might be- a game he liked to play on the odd occasions that he took care of a delivery. Would she be an ice queen as the flowers suggested she might be? All neutral tones and groomed to within an inch of her life? Well, she was dating that creepy furniture store owner. Was- past tense, it seemed. The card had only two words. ‘Forgive me’. Short, not exactly open to interpretation. But also… cold? No pleas, no passion.
Stifling a snort, he made his way into the small apartment building, finding the correct door and pressing the doorbell as he impatiently shifted from foot to foot. Impatient to… well, nothing. He had a long standing Friday date with netflix and a bottle of rum. Regardless, it seemed like an age before the patter of footsteps reached his ears. He tensed, ready to thrust the bouquet into the thorny hands of Ms. Swan and make a quick escape.
He was mentally loading up the next episode of The Greatest Catch when the door suddenly wrenched open and a whirl of blonde hair and pent up energy screeched, “WHAT?”
Taken aback for a moment, Killian let his mouth open slightly as he took in the sight: red dress, stiletto heels, tumbling curls.
“I, um-”
He held out the bouquet of flowers, not quite sure what to say to the woman before him with fiery green eyes and a scowl etched on her full lips. She stared at the roses, giving him a moment to compose himself and evaluate the situation. Time to take in just how perfectly the dress was molded to her body. And even more so, just how utterly gorgeous she was from head to toe. Clearly she wasn’t wasting any time on that loser.
“Looks like you moved on then,” he grinned, keeping the expression on his face as she took the flowers from his grip. She looked up at him, her expression blank. “Date?” he added, gesturing to her attire.
She narrowed her eyes as she pulled out the card. “It’s for a job,” she snapped. And then he was faced with a whole other load of questions. “I’m not a hooker,” she clarified, her tone just a little exasperated.
He wasn’t exactly going to suggest that but it did eliminate one possibility. “So what-”
He wasn’t able to finish his question, as the next this he knew the carefully constructed arrangement was slapped against the floor and stomped on with one glossy stiletto. “That asshole!” she screamed, scrunching the delicate petals into the tile that lined the hallway. “Jerk!” she added, before tearing up the card with a quite amazing amount of anger.
Killian stared. All at once he was scared… and just a little turned on. Far from being an ice queen, Ms. Swan was more like some kind of fiery siren, all passion and fire. Enough that could even let him overlook her bad taste in mediocre furniture purveyors. For a moment both were silent. She seethed, her chest rising and falling in a distracting motion that drew his eyes to her… assets. He was intrigued, more so than he had been by any woman in, well, quite some time. He also had a strong sense of self-preservation and knew that now was not the time to make his appreciation of her virtues apparent. So he tried to offer a conciliatory smile, enough to step away, enough to let him leave and then later make a few discrete enquiries among those he knew in the small town- surely someone knew more about this woman. No, woman was inadequate. This… force of nature.
Slowly, he turned away.
“Hey,” she snapped, causing him to glance back and catch her eye, “If that asshole tries to send me any more ‘peace offerings’, don’t waste your time coming out here.” She glanced at the mangled roses. “Seems a waste,” she finished, before storming back into the apartment- giving him an all too perfect view of her shapely legs and tightly clad derriere.
When the door finally slammed shut, he looked up and grimaced. “I’m in trouble,” he muttered, before sloping back to his car, ready to bury himself in rum and thoughts of Ms. Swan.

Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal in Washington
Jan 7, 2021
Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal
Design: LMN Architects
Location: Washington, USA
LMN Architects is pleased to celebrate the opening of the Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal in Mukilteo, Washington. With input from local tribes, the two-story terminal building, designed in partnership with KPFF Consulting Engineers, replaces the existing terminal built in 1957 and adheres to contemporary environmental and building standards.
The Mukilteo-Clinton ferry route moves more than two million vehicles and nearly four million riders annually in conjunction with State Route 525, the major transportation corridor connecting Whidbey Island to the Seattle-Everett metropolitan area. With proximity to commuter trains via Sound Transit’s Mukilteo Sounder Station, the new two-story terminal building’s walk-on ridership is expected to increase more than 100 percent over the next 20 years during peak commute times. The new terminal provides more space for vehicle holding and separates pedestrian and vehicle boarding with an overhead walkway for safer, more efficient loading, especially for people with disabilities.
Charlie Torres, Mukilteo Design Project Manager at WSF, comments: “We listened intently and realized our project had to tell a story, one that had been partially hidden from the general public for years and covered under a Cold War fueling tank farm and a pioneer lumbermill before that. The group of designers asked to bring the project together embraced the goal of designing a new ferry terminal that honored and respected the history and values of the Coast Salish people. While only a transportation facility, it owes a debt to the generations of people who occupied this beautiful piece of land along the Salish Sea thousands of years before our time. The project is light on the earth and wrapped in cedar.”
Howard Fitzpatrick, Principal, LMN Architects, comments: “The Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal is the result of an intensive collaboration between the design, engineering, and contracting teams. But it would not have been possible without the inspiration and sense of mission that the team drew from our tribal partners. The historic significance of the site to the tribes, combined with its incredible natural beauty, inspired the team to produce a project that is imbued with a deep sense of history, while at the same time recognizing the vitality and forward-looking orientation of the area’s original inhabitants.”
The building’s longhouse form, derived through a close collaboration with numerous Coast Salish tribes, enriches the passenger experience, streamlining circulation and managing large patron flows with intuitive wayfinding. Vertical transportation cores with elevators and stairs at each end of the structure lead to a linear promenade at the upper level, from which entries to the ticketing and waiting area are visible.
Phillip Narte, WSF Tribal Liaison, comments: “The Ferry Terminal has been the most challenging project I have been involved in due in part to the collaboration with 11 tribal governments, and the associated cultural and historical issues. I believe the project will become a model for how local, state, and tribal governments can work together. The Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal is the most rewarding and satisfying project that I will ever work on.”
The waiting room is a daylight-filled space with views to land and sea that help orient ferry riders. Tribal cultural motifs created by local, Native American artists James Madison and Joe Gobin are displayed throughout the building, creating a welcoming atmosphere of regional belonging. In conjunction with the terminal, a new waterfront promenade connects a path from downtown Mukilteo, through the terminal and on to the beach, creating an elevated pathway for public use.
Andrew Bennett, Principal, KPFF Consulting Engineers, comments: “The Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal has been an amazing opportunity to contribute to our regional transportation system. It was an exceptionally complicated project and KPFF was fortunate to have visionaries like LMN on our team. We were able to work with literally dozens of stakeholders, firms, and government agencies to deliver this project. Everyone can be proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we hope this terminal continues to be a valuable public asset for years to come.”
LMN Architects worked closely with the Coast Salish tribes, whose traditional fishing rights encompass the area’s coastal waters, to incorporate environmental stewardship into the overall concept. The project’s strong sustainability ambitions started with repurposing the brownfield site, which previously housed a U.S. Air Force Cold War fuel depot and pier. Removing the pier eliminated approximately 10 percent of the Puget Sound’s remaining toxic creosote piles. The structural expression combines advanced energy and water conservation, and the longhouse-style shed roof allows for a full array of photovoltaic panels, meaning the facility can return energy to the grid.
The roof canopy is made from cross-laminated timber, sustainably harvested and locally sourced. Heating and cooling the concrete-slab main floor with electric heat pumps efficiently provides interior comfort year-round. A rack-and-pinion window system automatically opens and closes in response to changing conditions, optimizing airflow and comfort. The vehicle holding area features pervious concrete that collects stormwater and filters it through layers of sand before it enters the Possession Sound. Other advanced stormwater treatment systems are used throughout the terminal site.
Howard Fitzpatrick, Principal, LMN Architects, comments: “The design team took the responsibility of building on such a historically significant and sacred site very seriously. While it is impossible to construct a modern facility without impacting the site, our goal was to minimize those impacts, to work with the sun, rain, wind and views that have always defined this coastline to make a building that respects both its site and the culture that has occupied it for thousands of years.”
The Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal provides a flexible asset for the community while creating a major new transportation hub that alleviates congestion and provides a new connection to public transit. The new terminal improves numerous shortcomings of the existing 63-year old facility while looking to the future with a sustainable approach serving the Pacific Northwest’s rapidly evolving transportation needs.
Walt Niehoff, Partner, LMN Architects, comments: “When we began the design, we were conscious of the transportation and infrastructure needs, but more importantly the rich history of the project and site. LMN and our team of consultants set out to create a welcoming civic space and a terminal for the new century. In addition to providing much-needed infrastructure improvements for the Mukilteo-Clinton route, the building celebrates the nature around the site, meets modern accessibility requirements, and improves both passenger safety and circulation. The Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal is the first new ferry terminal built in 40 years in the state of Washington, and we are extremely proud to be a part of this effort to help improve public infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest.”
The new terminal officially opened at 5:50 p.m. on December 29, upon arrival of the 5:35 p.m. departure out of Clinton. That sailing marked the end of an 18-hour closure of the route to move floating marine structures from the old terminal to the new one. Because of COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings, there was no grand opening ceremony.
LMN Architects is recipient of the 2016 AIA National Architecture Firm Award and is widely recognized for its design of projects that support smart, sustainable cities. The firm has successfully completed more than 700 projects across North America, including the double LEED Platinum Vancouver Convention Centre West in Vancouver, Canada; Cleveland Convention Center & Civic Core in Cleveland, Ohio; Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas; and the Voxman Music Building at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Activists dread basic safety net will not capture evictions
New eviction situations for failing to shell out lease are on the increase in Massachusetts in the six weeks since a state ban expired, and housing advocates want a stronger reaction from Beacon Hill given the rise in COVID-19 an infection rates and the looming finish to a federal moratorium ban.
So much, attempts to take out tenants have taken the form of a gradual-constructing wave fairly than the sudden surge that some feared. Circumstances have been submitted in current months at around the exact same fee as right before the pandemic, and a federal moratorium will block several evictions from staying executed but is due to expire at the conclusion of the calendar year.
But with the pandemic’s next surge in Massachusetts accelerating, neighborhood teams and activists are worried that the state is unnecessarily dangling about the edge of popular housing insecurity.
“We are suitable at the starting of the cliff,” stated Lisa Owens, govt director of the Town Lifetime / Vida Urbana team that has urged lawmakers to just take supplemental techniques. “This is kind of our final chance to act.”
To date, the state demo courtroom system has received 1,882 newly submitted residential eviction for failure to shell out rent cases considering that Oct. 17, when the moratorium that experienced been in place for just about 6 months expired. They trickled in slowly at to start with, with only 70 in the initially two months, and then quickly picked up tempo.
Around the previous two months, conditions have been filed at about the same clip as right before the pandemic: 714 in the week of Nov. 16, and 558 in the holiday-shortened week of Nov. 23. On leading of those people, advocates estimate there are countless numbers of other eviction cases that had been submitted before the condition moratorium took result that could be on the shift the moment again.
Filing an eviction case is in several circumstances just an early step in the system, and not all filings will final result in forceful removal of a tenant. Lots of cases cannot continue to the execution stage until eventually 2021 beneath a separate moratorium the US Facilities for Condition Management issued.
Lew Finfer, co-director of the Massachusetts Communities Action Community, mentioned that the calendar year-conclude deadline – mixed with the impending expiration of expanded unemployment supports Congress created – could prove to be a risky turning level.
“It’s a bleak circumstance receiving additional and more bleaker and shifting into a disaster condition as this all mounts up,” Finfer claimed.
In April, in the course of the very first peak of the COVID-19 outbreak, Gov. Baker signed a monthly bill placing a moratorium on almost all non-unexpected emergency evictions and foreclosures. The laws did not exempt tenants from finally making fantastic on economic obligations, but aimed to continue to keep as many folks as possible securely housed all through the general public wellbeing crisis and at a time when employment losses have been high due to compelled small business closures.
Baker prolonged the non permanent ban once, but he authorized it to expire on Oct. 17 and as a substitute unveiled a $171 million plan.
The proposal enhanced the greatest Residential Aid for Families in Transition (RAFT) benefit available from $4,000 to $10,000 per residence, with $100 million available for the plan this fiscal calendar year.
Far more than 5,800 distinctive homes have been given RAFT rewards because April, in accordance to an administration spokesperson. In between June 1 and Nov. 30, the point out paid out $15.6 million in both of those RAFT support and administrative fees to the regional agencies that distribute the funding.
Baker’s alternate to extending the moratorium drew praise from quite a few real estate leaders and landlords, who have argued that they do not want to result in housing insecurity but at times require to use court docket filings to solve difficulties with tenants.
Greg Vasil, president and CEO of the Increased Boston Real Estate Board, reported enabling the short term ban to finish will assist point out and market leaders get a clearer feeling of the outlook on the floor.
“When I glance at this challenge, filing the conditions isn’t the challenge. What we require to do is make sure men and women do not end up on the sidewalk,” Vasil explained. “I don’t consider any individual would like to be capable to do that. I consider what they want to do is search at these circumstances like an onion. We peel again the very first layer and we’ve solved some of people. Let’s get the job done on the 2nd layer and the third layer and see, at the end of the working day, when we’re at last down to the main of the onion, how a lot of cases are actually still left with folks with full hardship, and then see what methods we could possibly be able to have to enable them out.”
Other companies and leaders aligned with tenants do not share Vasil’s optimism about the administration’s reaction.
The RAFT program experienced a backlog just before the new strategy, and limits on the expanded funding — this kind of as requiring that tenancy can previous for six months or until finally June 2021 for homes with university-aged young children — make it «a great deal harder» to accessibility, according to Andrea Park, an attorney with the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute.
A free mediation program the administration served start with the Office of Community Collaboration has been available for landlords and tenants since Nov. 16, in accordance to an administration spokesperson.
A number of other factors of the plan have nevertheless to make tangible impacts, Park explained. The administration said it would seek the services of attorneys to assist far more tenants have legal illustration through eviction proceedings, but that venture is nonetheless receiving off the ground.
“Not only are individuals assets not all set now, there was no way they were being likely to be completely ready,” Park stated. “They were being declared 5 times in advance of (the moratorium) finished. There have been folks who, on Monday morning following the moratorium ended on Saturday night, acquired eviction notices, like ‘you’re likely to be out in a few times.’”
According to Demo Court knowledge, practically 98 per cent of defendants in rent-relevant eviction situations in 2020 did not have a law firm, in contrast to just 35 percent of plaintiffs.
Park, Owens, and Finfer reported they imagine lawmakers ought to choose a extra forceful method, backing legislation co-authored by Housing Committee Co-chair Rep. Kevin Honan that would maintain a moratorium in place for a calendar year soon after the state of emergency’s end and provide cash to little landlords monetarily impacted by the crisis.
That invoice (H 5018) has unsuccessful to acquire traction. In Oct, Honan said it wanted extra time and operate immediately after it cleared his committee.

Kevin Cage of @spotlightsaga reviews... The Mist (S01E02) Withdrawal Airdate: June 29, 2017 @spike Ratings: 0.496 Million :: 0.15 18-49 Demo Share Score: 5/10 @paramountpictures TVTime/FB/IG/Twitter/Tumblr/Path: @SpotlightSaga **********SPOILERS BELOW********** There is something in The Mist, we can be 100% sure of that, and so can all of these characters now, right? No more playing stupid... No more rash decisions outside of the norm of idiosyncratic human behaviors (which leaves a wide gap of opportunities anyway)... And despite the show's flaws, 'The Mist' seems to know that... Not that there's just something in The Mist, but a whole lotta something in there lurking about. We've established that the budget isn't exactly high, there are few decent special effects, but mostly the majority of money was probably spent on Frances Conroy's salary (unless she owed someone a favor). Honestly that's not a dig, or us trying to throw shade, it just feels like a cold hard fact. 'The Mist' is low-budget, but that's not necessarily something that will keep it from engaging its audience... SyFy and The CW have made entire armies of viewers that are faithful to their respective networks on series that aren't exactly paid for with top dollar. To make a successful season with the ingredients that they have at their disposal, it will ultimately fall back onto the building of tension through storylines that are familiar to the audience, but packing slight unexpected twists in small, subtle ways that pack heavy punches. Most of us have read the story and seen the film, (and without giving away spoilers to those that haven't) we KNOW things and its clear that 'The Mist' isn't necessarily deviating from that core narrative, the heart of the story that gives this specific tale it's own unique identity... But that doesn't mean they can't toss some screwballs here & there to throw us for a loop. Capitalizing on periods of extreme anxiety will also be of upmost importance and 'Withdrawal' does a better job at framing cinematic style camera shots to help accentuate the tone & atmosphere than what we saw originally executed in the 'Pilot' episode. David Boyd is directing this second installment of the serial horror drama and he lends his eye for award winning cinematography and camera work, but he doesn't exactly lead the cast past weak running dialogue in what is an otherwise decent teleplay, written by Peter Macmanus, a man who's still honing his chops in the industry as a writer... Most recently on USA Network's 2-Season ode to paid marital affairs, 'Satisfaction'. Keep in mind that 'Satisfaction' is the only other series that Peter Macmanus has ever worked on. We're just not going to get explosive dialogue and fiercely staged friction from the man at this point in his career (and it wouldn't be fair to expect that), even though Boyd does his best at exploiting those moments that Macmanus left wide open in writing. That's not to say the rest of the teleplay doesn't do it's job and serve its purpose to the degree that it's needed to keep the audience right there with it. If 'Withdrawal' is anything, it's proof that 'The Mist' does have what it takes to overcome its own handicaps... Eventually. It stumbles through the episode, but ultimately comes out as a catalyst to further the core narrative in a respectable and visually somber, but glossy manner. 'The Mist' is known for its over-the-top characters. Marcia Gay Harden turned up the volume on her version of the religious fanatic turned prophet, Mrs Carmody in the 11-times nominated, 2007 film adaptation. The character is iconic and won Harden both a Saturn & Fright Meter Award, literally taking home a prize in every category she was nominated for. However 'The Mist' is very different as a film compared to the tv series when it comes to characters, which isn't necessarily a bad thing... Essentially we want something new from 'The Mist', and even tho there are echoes of familiarity, the show is certainly bouncing to the beat of its own drum. We still have what seems to be a strong military tie-in as Eve (Alyssa Sutherland) found out on her short, but violent expedition with the soldier that she quite literally drew the short end of the stick to go on in a chance game of drawing straws that the group should be grateful didn't end badly. Of course they know it wasn't pretty but Eve hides the details from her fellow mall-mates. Why? Possibly to not make matters worse & tensions run even higher... Alyssa Sutherland is just fine in her role, but her fellow top-billed cast mate, Isaiah Whitlock Jr, feels like a strange fit for Mall Manager, Gus Bradley. He plays out the the 'timid manager' schtick well. There's some nuance in there that may ring a bell with certain people who have similar bosses or work with people that desperately want to be in charge, but don't want the responsibility and 'risk vs reward' factor that goes hand-in-hand with the position. We've all seen Isiah Whitlock used to his best potential in shows like 'Veep', 'The Wire' and even several of Dick Wolf's 'Law & Order' entries, but here it seems like either he is having a hard time finding a balance between cartoonish caricature and 'true to life' pseudo-tweener, with a deep base in reality or simply not blending in well with the rest of the greener cast. However, if he's gearing up for a brutal death scene, then he's in the right zone, at least. Since Whitlock is a veteran and proven to be a great asset as an actor in the past, let's not count out that he's just been given aimless direction. This is entirely possible, especially considering the man behind the lens, David Boyd, normally focuses on exactly what that lens shows it's audience instead of taking on the much different, but equally as respectable role as Director. I also don't want to take away from Boyd, as his eye truly lends a fresh feel to the series that just wasn't there in the 'Pilot'. Ultimately, 'The Mist' doesn't make great strides as a series in 'Withdrawal', or even fully explore its episode's namesake through its chemically dependent character, Mia (Danica Curcic), who will hopefully lend as much as she possibly can in the show's future. Mia has a lot to give the show as a character, especially when it comes to uncertainty and a neurotic headspace that will surely add to the tv series' atmosphere... And Curcic appears to be more than up for the task, giving us small but impactful glimpses into what she can do if handed the reigns. AMC's 'Fear The Walking Dead' took its character Nick through hell and back, spotlighting his addiction issues in a slowly crumbling post-apocalyptic world during its freshman season. This could've been 'The Mist's chance to give 'FearTWD' a run for its money with Mia, but instead it bounces back and forth through different sets of characters, making sure leads like Alyssa Sutherland and Frances Conroy (who just so happen to be in two separate places) grab the most screen-time. 'Withdrawal' is beautifully shot... It's foreboding, dismal, brooding, and morose... And even though we are unable to call it successful overall (as of yet), it's easy to see where the potential of 'The Mist' hides in untapped pockets of germinating steam, waiting for the right team of creative minds to bring the show to life.

Overlooked rookies worth your Fantasy Football attention in 2017
yahoo
Glitz and glam marked Round 1 of the NFL Draft. Several impactful selections like Leonard Fournette (Jacksonville), Christian McCaffrey (Carolina) and Corey Davis (Tennessee) renewed fantasy owners’ interest. Meanwhile, Drew Pearson’s boisterous trash talking of Eagles fans Day 2 only affirmed gamers’ desire to reignite the smack.
Outside of Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine, who were already featured here, what leftover offerings could pay fantasy dividends this fall? Here are 11 additional selections in order of projected impact:
Dalvin Cook, Min, RB (Early ADP: 39.2, RB15) – The Guy Fieri of running backs just missed my top-five cut, but he’s far from unsavory. His landing spot in Minnesota isn’t the most delectable – the overhauled offensive line must make leaps and bounds on its No. 30 run-blocking rank per Football Outsiders – but the opportunity is fairly ripe. Questions linger about Latavius Murray’s surgically repaired ankle. At this juncture, there are no guarantees the former Raider will open training camp at full strength.
Cook is a dynamic weapon with considerable explosiveness. His athletic test scores left much to be desired, but his college film suggests otherwise. His evasiveness (No. 1 elusive rating in ’16), helmet-popping power (4.2 YAC last year), sharp vision, patience and open-field acceleration arrow to a fruitful NFL career. But will a healthy Murray poach at the goal-line? What about Jerick McKinnon stealing touches in the pass game? Both are unfortunate downsides. Like many on this list, he’s a draft and stash RB3/RB4 in 12-teamers. He should become the featured RB at some point, but his current top-40 ADP is a bit rich.
[Fantasy Football is open! Sign up now and start winning season early]
Marlon Mack, Ind, RB (Early ADP: 213.3, RB72) – Frank Gore must be a vampire. It’s the only explanation. His consistent production tallied after age 30 defies conventional wisdom. Eventually, though, Father Time catches up to us all. One would surmise a high-odometer RB entering his age 34 season would inevitably succumb to the wooden stake. Robert Turbin and Josh Ferguson remain backups, but Mack could quickly leapfrog both in camp to become the Colts’ No. 2 behind Grandpa Gore.
The scouting community is split on the South Florida product. Some believe he’s merely a pass-only scat back. Others say he possesses the size (5-foot-11, 213 pounds) and makeup to handle early-down work in addition. Put me in the latter group. His body twists, burst and low pad level not only make defenders miss, they typically displace them as well. Mack’s 3.85 YAC and strong 24.3 missed tackles percentage last year with the Bulls was on par with Mixon’s. The dude can handle loads.
He’ll start camp as the No. 3, but it’s probable he earns a start or three at some point this year. Highlight his name for the later rounds.
John Ross, Cin, WR (Early ADP: 144.9, WR60) – Ross is a legit Speedy Gonzalez, a diminutive, tough-to-corral blazer who will give defensive coordinators fits. But he’s more than just a record-setting 40 time. Injuries occasionally hampered him at Washington, but his wide-stretching route tree impressed. Similar to other pint-sized wide receivers (e.g. Antonio Brown, Steve Smith and Golden Tate), he has the necessary technical skills to break press coverage, gain separation and dash in the open field.
A true shocker special pick at No. 9 overall, Ross slipped on team boards largely due to medical red flags. But the Bengals, who desperately downfield wheels, found the kid’s overall package irresistible. Thanks to A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert he will be gifted several favorable one-on-one opportunities. Right away, 5-7 targets per game should be expected shifting between the slot and outside. Erratic performances will be the norm, but he could flirt with a 45-700-5 line this fall.
David Njoku, Cle, TE (Early ADP: 189.5, TE25) – Rarely do tight ends contribute meaningful fantasy numbers Year 1. In fact, since 2000 only Rob Gronkowski, Jeremy Shockey and John Carlson cracked the position’s top-10. Some will reach for O.J. Howard or Evan Engram, but the Miami product has the best odds of bucking the trend. He runs polished routes, shakes defenders after the catch and possesses more than deceptive speed (4.64 40-yard dash). From an analytics perspective, he’s the second coming of Travis Kelce.
Cleveland kicked Gary Barnidge to the curb immediately following Njoku’s acquisition. The veteran tight end managed just two TDs in 2016, but he accounted for 81 targets and 600-plus yards. With a starting spot virtually guaranteed and knowing Cleveland’s ongoing rebuild on defense, the rookie is sure to become the apple of Cody Kessler’s eye. If he falls short of a 50-600-5 opening line, Brock Osweiler claimed another victim.
Zay Jones, Buf, WR (Early ADP: 213.1, WR88) – If the over/under on Sammy Watkins weeks played was 10.5, I would absolutely hammer the UNDER. The human piñata is one absorbed hit from spilling out. Because of that inevitability, Jones, who was ridiculously productive at East Carolina, is a receiver who needs to be on fantasy radars.
In the Jarvis Landry mold, Jones is a savvy route runner who nickels and dimes defenses to death. His precise routes, sharp cuts and shiftiness are ideal qualities. A high-character and very intelligent player, he should quickly soak in Rick Dennison’s system. Do so and he’ll log a high snap percentage off the blocks, potentially earning 6-plus targets per game. Outside of Watkins and LeSean McCoy he has very little competition for looks, though it’s anyone’s best guess if the Bills shed their conservative ways on offense. Still, most expect Jones to man the Emmanuel Sanders position in Dennison’s Kubiak-styled offense.
A yards per catch under 12.0 seems reasonable for Jones. However, occasional heavy workloads forecast 50-plus receptions in Year 1. In the event of a major Watkins injury, that total could exceed 65. For now, anticipate a final output in range of 60-675-4.
McNichols could catch on quickly in Tampa. (AP)
Jeremy McNichols, TB, RB (Early ADP: 208.4, RB70) – A metrics darling, McNichols coincidentally joins another Boise State standout, Doug Martin, in Tampa. Unlike the Muscle Hamster and Jay Ajayi before him, he didn’t receive much notoriety despite positing prolific numbers. He accumulated 66 missed tackles, a 3.55 YAC, 2,183 combined yards and 27 touchdowns over 13 games last fall. Point blank, McNichols has the physicality, scheme experience, fortitude and intangibles to deliver right away.
Martin, refocused after a brief rehab stint last year, earned the Bucs’ praise for his dedication and execution in OTAs. However, one would figure his leash is short, if not nonexistent. McNichols, who many presume will start Weeks 1-3 with Martin suspended, has a ripe opportunity to keep the veteran sidelined. Storm out of the gates against Miami, Chicago and Minnesota and he will be the biggest early season surprise in fantasy. Encase his name with a heart on your cheat sheet.
Kareem Hunt, KC, RB (Early ADP: 195.8, RB63) – Multiple fantasy pundits have already bestowed greatness upon Hunt. When crunching tape, his balance, break-tackle ability and spectacular spin moves increase blood flow. Last year with Toledo, he made dudes whiff on 32.1 percent of his touches. The balanced back also gained an appreciable 3.46 yards after contact and reeled in 41 receptions. Because of those attributes many scouts believe he is capable of handling a three-down workload.
Andy Reid talked up Spencer Ware earlier this offseason speaking highly of his multidimensional assets and “dirty tough” mentality. Ware, though, slowed rapidly after a torrid first few games in 2016. From Week 8 on, he finished RB32 in total fantasy points and tallied a mere 3.6 yards per carry. He enters the summer atop the depth chart, but his grip on the starting job is tenuous. It’s possible he and Hunt form a 60-40 timeshare Week 1 with the veteran toting the heavy side. The youngster may be flexy sexy at first, but his upside, especially over the season’s second half, is rather substantial.
Mike Williams, LAC, WR (Early ADP: 108.0, WR49) – Tequila Thursday already underway, Evans? Williams’ low slotting isn’t an indictment on the player. His routes are a work in progress, but he’s an ideal sized, acrobatic and wonderfully talented target who bailed DeShaun Watson out on many poor downfield throws. His efforts in last year’s BCS Title game were heroic. Long term, Williams’ upside is massive.
What will ail Williams in Year 1 is landing spot. Tyrell Williams, Keenan Allen, Antonio Gates, Hunter Henry and Melvin Gordon crowd the situation. Yes, Allen would get injured in a game of mini golf, but if he impossibly remains healthy it’s tough to see the rookie garnering anything more than 15 percent of the targets share. Williams’ 2017 peak potential is around 50-700-5. Flip side, his floor could bottom out around 40-550-3. A borderline top-100 pick, he isn’t worth tearing arm ligaments for.
Cooper Kupp, LAR, WR (218.7, WR94) – Don’t let Kupp’s small school affiliation fool you. The kid is a baller extraordinaire. He’s tough to wrangle after the catch, exhibits excellent footwork, grabs everything in sight and is an accomplished route runner. His studious approach also raises his profile.
Kupp’s 4.60-plus speed will turn many off, but he has the package needed to develop into a useful NFL No. 2. Recall, he owned then Washington corners Marcus Peters and Sidney Jones in a 2014 matchup and handled business versus high-level competition at the Senior Bowl. Spectacularly, he amassed a 40-716-11 line in four games against Pac-12 teams while at Eastern Washington.
The Rams are an unappealing employer, but name the No. 1 WR currently on their depth chart? You have to think about it (It’s Tavon Austin, by the way). Kupp suits up and shines Day 1 and Sean McVay would be hard pressed not to feature him. With Kenny Britt’s 111 targets last year up for grabs, Kupp could step in and tally at least WR4-level stats in 12-team formats. If only Jared Golf was one-sixteenth Kurt Warner or, heck, Marc Bulger.
D’Onte Foreman, Hou, RB (Early ADP: 161.7, RB53) – Unquestionably, Foreman is a favorite among this year’s loaded RB class. The uninformed look at his measurements and immediately assume “LeGarrette Blount,” but his juke button comps to smaller, bouncier backs. His decisive cuts, upright style and lateral agility are also reminiscent of DeMarco Murray. Underutilized as a pass catcher, he isn’t as adept a receiver, but he flashed adequate hands during Texas’ pro day. If he can show reliability in the area and dip his shoulder to drive for extra yards, he has a shot to become special.
Out of the gate, Foreman will fulfill the Alfred Blue role behind Lamar Miller. In 2016, Blue tallied just 26.4 percent (8.0 touches/game) of the opportunity share. Still, expectations point to a reduced workload for Miller, implying the rookie could compile some 10-12 touches per game. Most alluringly, Foreman is a viable goal-line candidate. Red-zone efficiency wasn’t a strong suit for Miller last year. Don’t forget about him in the beer hazy hours of your draft.
Aaron Jones, GB, RB (Early ADP: Completely off the radar) – The Jamaal Williams bandwagon is already overflowing. He was drafted one round ahead of Jones, but the UTEP product poses the biggest threat to Ty Montgomery. He’s more explosive, versatile and a flat out better athlete/player. As a shotgun rusher, Williams stunk up the joint throughout his college career. Last year with BYU he also finished dead last among college RBs in percentage of 10-plus yard gains. Jones, meanwhile, excelled in those areas.
At 5-foot-9, 210 pounds, Jones has some pocket Hercules in him. At the Combine he crushed agility tests. His three-cone, shuttle runs and jumping exercises ranked near the top. He isn’t a burner by any stretch (4.65 40-yard dash), but his multicomponent package arrows to solid productivity if thrust into an enhanced role.
Bottom line, I firmly believe Montgomery will be given every opportunity to lock down the primary gig this summer. But Jones, not Williams, could quickly climb the depth chart and overtake Christine Michael as the Packers’ No. 2 (UPDATE: Michael was released Monday. Hello, Mr. Jones!). Remember him, deep leaguer.

The Data Is In: EVERYONE IS BUYING BITCOIN. Proof! Evidence! Data!
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Hey, welcome back, everybody, to altcoin Daily. My name is Aaron. This video today, some of the best news that we have seen in a while. In fact, the first one, two, three, four stories alone are all about proof, evidence. We are seeing both whales and regular people buying Bitcoin in mass. And we have the data, we have the proof, we have the evidence to back this up. That’s what we’re going to focus on in the first five minutes. Also, stay tuned for some other pretty good news. We’re going to talk about everything today. There’s a heavy news day and we’ll get into it. So make sure everybody take two seconds like the video, support the channel because what I’m about to show you might blow your mind. These first four stories, multiple bitcoin exchanges have seen a massive surge in new users this month, actually both new users and buying in general. So in brief, five exchanges reported an uptick in new users crack and saw an 83 percent increase in users packs full doubled its signup rate. Many top bitcoin exchanges have seen this influx of new users since the pandemic lockdown started five exchanges, so a notable increase in both sign ups and trading volume, with some citing a doubling or in some cases a tripling of their usual rate of new signups. These exchanges are cracking open packs bitfinex packs full and Luhnow crack in recorded an 83 percent rise in signups and a further 300 percent increase in intermediate verifications. Similarly, peer to peer crypto exchanges like Paxil saw a 100 percent increase in new signups since the start of March. Bitcoin exchange Luhnow, too, has seen a 50 percent uptick in active users over the last four weeks, according to Marcus, the CEO of Luhnow. He told Decrypt while the current pandemic has created a lot of uncertainty across most, if not all industries. It’s reassuring to see that there remains confidence in cryptocurrencies. While many traders are on wavered as more and more people start to work from home, Bitcoin exchange of bitfinex saw a notable uptick in new users as well. They said Our data shows that within the second half of March, which is when strict lockdown policies have been imposed in many countries. We’ve seen a 30 percent increase in new accounts. This is exactly what you would want to see if cryptocurrency is the future. The exchanges are bleeding bitcoin according to market intelligence from Glass NOAD. The amount of bitcoin being withdrawn from exchanges is steadily increasing, according to our labels. Bitcoin exchange balances are the lowest they’ve been in eight months. Glass know’d tweeted out they do good work. Now let’s check in on the most popular retail exchange. Coinbase is also reporting record Bitcoin buying. The data is represented very nicely here in this screenshot. This is research. According to Coinbase, in the 48 hours during and immediately following the drop, coinbase saw record breaking numbers compared to the last 12 month averages. Coinbase saw a 5 x increase in cash and crypto deposits totaling 1.3 billion a 2x increase in new user sign ups, a 3x increase in trading users, a 6 x increase in total traded volume. But beyond just a rash, two things are clear. Customers of our retail brokerage were buyers during the drop and bitcoin was the clear favorite. Our customers typically by 60 percent more than they sell, but during the crash this jumped to sixty seven, taking advantage of market troughs and representing strong demand for crypto assets even during extreme volatility. This is just data, guys, you cannot argue with data, and the data is great for all bitcoin holders. There is a demand. People are buying. To go further. Somebody bought 1000 bitcoin on crack in exchange just an hour ago. So that’s six and a half million in Bitcoin. On one purchase and you can see the huge green candle right here. Clearly, Aweil don’t know who it is, but this is a 1000 bitcoin order that went through on crack. And so Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are the future and we are seeing that awareness and interest continues to increase by nans is set to acquire coin market cap. The deal could be worth as much as 400 million. So we’re pretty close to April Fool’s Day. Who knows if this is true or not. But the details are this by NANCE is in the final stage of talks to acquire a coin market cap. The crypto exchange is looking to pay as much as $400 million for the deal. Coin market cap is one of the most popular crypto data aggregators drawing 207 million visitors in the last six months. Finance, on the other hand, drew one hundred thirteen million visitors in the last six months. Coin market caps traffic is 80 percent more than by an ounce. And people familiar with the matter told the block that coin market caps ability to drive significant amounts of traffic is one of the major reasons for the acquisition. So does coin market cap own anything proprietary? I don’t think so. But coin market cap is the name brand. So it looks like finance is looking to acquire more traffic. In other news, be cash and be cash. V. They’re having as are going to force miners to move away from them because those two blockchains are not popular and unprofitable and they’re miners are going to go to bitcoin. That’s the story. I mean you can read the details yourself, but I just want you to know what’s going to happen. Be cash and BSB will trend towards zero. That’s my opinion and that’s what it’s looking like is going to happen based on people actually working with them and using them. These next two stories are really good for institutions and big players coming in. The space suit I’m talking about civil wallet now offers one million FDIC like insurance for cryptocurrency. So you know that normal banks have your money insured. Quarter million. Well, apparently there’s new wallets, civil wallet. It’s a multisig non-custodial wallet. That’s important. That’s good. Now says it has a one million dollar guarantee from coin cover. So their quote, they say this is the first time that both technical and non-technical users can feel safe about their holdings. Until now, people had to keep their coins in cold storage, but now they don’t have to worry about it as their holdings are insured up to one million, just like a bank account with the FDA. I see. So for me personally, I’m still keeping my coins on cold storage because, you know, I like that about the space. But many people aren’t going to do that. Many people prefer the safety of a bank, but still want to be able to hold cryptocurrency. Well, now we’re seeing more and more things like this come to light. This is good for the whole entire industry. And they have the multisig solutions I mentioned. So, you know, you don’t have to worry about, you know, your inheritance or your beneficiaries. Inheritance, civil wallet. Users must still abide by stringent new your customer requirements by supplying their government issued ID and subjecting and subjecting their visage to facial recognition software. OK. Users will be able to connect to their bank accounts and buy crypto without leaving the wallet as wallets containing higher amounts of cryptocurrency continue to grow in numbers and insurance policy could not have come at a better time. So this is very good for the industry to go along with that. Another separate story. Epiphanny launches institutional platform to connect exchange liquidity, so an institutional platform has just been launched. And if you check out these details, you will see, wow, this is a really good thing for the industry. Institutions will now be able to trade on every single crypto market simultaneously thanks to Global I-X. This is an API platform launched on March Thirty first by a San Francisco based firm, Epiphanny. The startup hired former executives of Google X Crack and an Alpha Point to promote the service. Global X works by integrating all the world’s exchanges into one platform available to institutional traders. The firm opens business accounts with as many exchanges as possible across the entire world, while presenting a unified interface for its clients. As Swami explained, the immediate reason for this is simple. It allows institutional traders to make large orders while well without depressing price at one specific exchange. So it provides global liquidity by distributing the orders across global markets. The traders tap into global crypto liquidity instead of just one crypto exchange. The core proposition of global X is increasing the bandwidth available for institutional trading desks, as Furman highlighted. Trading on multiple exchanges is complex. If you look at before, in order to execute these global strategies, an institutional investor would have to set up accounts on multiple exchanges globally in order to execute rapidly. They would need separate sets of API is two different exchanges on the front end, its equivalent of calling 17 different brokers to execute one trade and not through one interface. Global Acts also provides a function that few institutional trading desks can have on their own access to all local fiat to crypto markets. So you can see that this is just another on ramp for big institutional players and alone. Maybe this won’t be a big deal, but together with everything else we’ve seen building out in the past couple of years, this is exactly what I would think I would be seeing if cryptocurrency is the future. That’s it for me today, everybody. If you got value in this video, give it a like a lot of interesting stories today. Comment on one of the stories below. Whether it’s about big cash, whether it’s about bitcoin core, whether it’s about these institutional players or whether it’s about, you know, the data that shows that people are buying. Let’s have a discussion down below. I will be answering you.
