Thinking once again somehow of how important it is to me that when Wei Wuxian came back to life in Mo Xuanyu's body, the only two people who recognised him were Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng.

Nothing is more proof of the fact that Jiang Cheng cared deeply for Wei Wuxian. Yes, he was hurt and there was anger but the fact that he held onto his rage and grief for years doesn't read to me as, "he hated Wei Wuxian so much he never forgave him for anything." Rather it reads as anger being the manifestation of Jiang Cheng's grief around losing his brother and closest confidant.

Urgh. Well that was a waste of $20. Order a book online only to FINALLY see an except of it to realize it's FirstPOV. I fucking hate FirstPOV. I understand that it is the major trend right now but can publishers please make it known ahead of time? Or authors? I follow a few authors and am so excited to read their new works and NOWHERE does it mention what POV the story is go to be. Am I just an idiot? Should I just assume that all new rom-com books are going to written this way?

What also pisses me off is that this is a book based off of a deeply beloved fanfic which I KNOW FOR A FUCKING FACT was 3rdPOV. Why would a editor look at a WILDLY SUCESSFUL story written one way and make the author completely change the way it was written? Because it fucking does. It totally changes the structure.

FirstPOV just.... squicks me out. I can't fully articulate it... it feels MORE voyeuristic to "be in the characters shoes" to me? Like, I read fiction to NOT think about myself and sudden a story is forcing me to be the character?? And I find FirstPOV to focus less on sensory and setting details, not to mention the prose is usually.... more straight forward. I rarely find anything 'poetic' or crwwtive in a FirstPOV story.

Anyways I am just really upset because I have been waiting AGES for this thing to finally be published and I got the email that it finally shipped and now to see someone's review with excerpts and and fucking find out it was FIRST POV.

The book made me feel SO bad after finishing it, the narration is amazing and the setting of the scenes keeps you at the edge. How the story unfolds is heartbreaking and well thought out, even if the chapter structure seem a bit disjointed at first read.

Gillian Glynn - ANYTHING SHE DOES: The first time I read the first chapter of Gone Girl I knew this woman was going to keep me at the edge and she did. I thought I love Gone Girl because it’s the book that introduce me to her, Sharp Objects stole the place of my favorite book of hers. She made me understand why I felt a huge halt at some point in Thriller stories, emotion, personal connection, and biases. And her exploration of trauma just hits me like a sack of bricks, she has a way to show it in its most critical state. Her protagonists have space to be someone, period, not necessarily nice but to stretch as far as they need, her narration that is nuanced by every character and that just does it for me.   

I have a LOT more but I’ll be here all day. Just shout out to Timothy Zahn that made my favorite Star Wars books.

as long as her s/o stays close to her and respects the fact that she’s not going to participate in too many games that involve a lot of social interaction and swimming, she’s fine.

My kids have been on medi-cal since i separated with their father and it has been great. I have a child with special needs and we were able to go to the best clinics in town like UCSF and Stanford. i felt that my child gets the best medical care. The court ordered the father to provide a new insurance and we came to Kaiser last year. In almost a year dealing with Kaiser doctors i don't feel the same professionalism and quality of care as we used to get being at different other clinics. I started to think of changing the coverage to what we had prior to this. But i am not sure how i could change the court order and what evidence i need to provide asking for the change. Kids are still on Medi-cal, but its their secondery now.""

My car was stolen on Saturday. I was driving in the car with someone I thought I could trust and when I went inside a subway terminal to meet another friend I left the keys in the car and the person who was in the car with me took off with the car, my phone, my purse, and about $1500 worth of shopping bags and boxed furniture that I had just bought from Ikea. I called the police and they aren't doing much help. I've had to investigate a lot of this myself. The person who took my car doesn't have permanent housing so its been hard to track him down. I found out from the cops he has 4 other warrants out for his arrest for crimes relating to cars. Obviously, I didn't know that when I left him alone with mine. After my dad filed a claim to our insurance company, they said they were going to begin an investigation and sent us a letter saying it was within their rights not to give us any money for the car. They think me and the person who stole the car are working together to get money off of them. Their going to interview me and I'm really scared. The last time I broke the law was when I was five and tried to steal a barbie from Walgreens. I'm only 18 now and I don't even know how insurance or fraud work, never mind insurance fraud. They're going to accuse me. They only thing I'm really guilty of is being stupid/ naive/ gullible. I trusted a person who I should not have trusted. My questions are: 1) How can I track down this person? I sent a messege on Facebook to all of our mutual friends telling them to keep an eye out. 2) How can I move the investigation from the police (who are on my side) along, when they aren't really doing anything? 3) What am I supposed to tell the insurance guy? The cheapest quote I had found (through Geico I believe) is $585/month for full coverage.. that's over $7000 a year... I have two tickets on my record. That quote was done without listing any tickets at all. I work 65 hours a week, so the only place I really drive is to my jobs and back.
