I've been thinking about this for a long time... so, theoretically, can I (or anyone) ship oliver and evelyn (his girlfriend)? you just pointed out that you are not glad to see shipping content, and at the same time your character has a partner.

Honestly i can totally see why this makes me sound like a hypocrite , so let me try to explain it in a bit more detail (INCOMING LONG RAMBLEY RANT)

To put it simply: im acearo. Im one of those who's so heavily detatched from sex and romance that i just have zero interest in it at all, and I never have. So hopefully you can understand how romance being such a massive and reoccurring trope in effectively All media can get pretty tiresome and annoying for someone who doesn't really understand the nuances of love. One of the many reasons I like eddsworld so much is it's one of the few shows out there that's almost Never used romance in any sort of serious or long-lasting way. I can fully enjoy all of the writing.

And this isn't to say I'm AGAINST portrayal of romance in media, obviously it's a huge part of human history in many ways. I think what i truly dislike the most is when shipping stories are introduced via fanon that weren't there before. If that makes sense?? Like I dont like canon romance storylines, but I can just ignore them. But when a fandom turns what's left into a romantic story as well I cant really enjoy the fandom content the same way everyone else does. I don't even bother reading fanfic anymore just because i know it'll aways be there and I'll always be uncomfortable and close out early. (This isn't me demanding everyone stops shipping btw. I've done just fine for years by simply ignoring it. You do you, I'll just look the other way while you do it)

With oli and eli they're dating in cannon, but i never truly ever draw them being like romantic romantic, nor do i ever dive into the intricacies of their relationship. The fact that he's with eli barely has plot relevance in the overarching zomverse story (name patent pending) and that's how I like it. There is no story to them being in love its just how it is, and how it always will be.

never mentioned these guys (because i forgot they existed) but theyre fairly important players in lorea's story, she runs into the kingswood after (spoiler!) her mom tries to 🗡 her and ends up at haystack hall. sebastion ends up agreeing to let her stay, then as the war continues is the one to push her to claim the throne. totally not because he wants to be her hand and marry his son to her. who would ever do that.

House Mallister

theres a couple more piper cousins/siblings in law on the other side lyman but thats fine. lyman has a wife named lynette swann and i never decided if his name would remain lyman. also i forgot to ever name one of elinor's brothers in law oops

after the hashtag scandal of elinor having a bastard baby her mom gets her brother lucas to marry his son to elinor and elinor is shipped off to pinkmaiden forever. sad!

alia and aelyx are twins <3 i did not add all of daeron's various descendants or ancestors because frankly theres kind of a lot of them and again this site hates incest and it starts looking funny real quick. given more time i mightve added them and the great bastards and all but this is what you get for now

maron said their first kid could have a targy name since they'd be a martell either way so daenerys insisted he give the second one a dornish name and then with the twins they just followed their previous pattern of girl gets dornish boy gets targy. these guys are arguably the happiest family of ocs i got

maron had a paramour before wedding daenerys and he sent her away before the marriage because he knew daenerys would take offense to it, and he didn't want to risk the still fairly new targ-martell alliance, or risk angering daeron, which could theoretically pose a risk to maron's own sister. the family's one real conflict is that the paramour has a son who later shows up claiming he's maron's REAL oldest child and that aeron is actually a blackfyre. thankfully the dornish are not stupid and basically just go ????? before kicking the kid out. well actually a lot more happens than just that but yk how it is. that plotline is also only barely existant. i havent even read a knight of the seven kingdoms yet

hmmm i think a really funny one would be a haunted mansion au where all of the housewardens / overblotters are ghosts in this fucked up cursed haunted house that yuu + grim + the first years stumble into on accident. this is in a non-nrc non- magic universe so its set in a world thats pretty close to real life in that ghosts aren't expected to exist so its like Jumpscare! your new house has got around 8 ghosts in it and they're all INSUFFERABLE!

i might elaborate on this one later just because its giving me a lot of entertaining thoughts. little victorian boy ghost riddle loses his fucking MIND over ace doing the worlds most basic magic trick in front of him. vil keeps newspaper clippings about her own death because it was the last time the media talked about her. idia is fucking terrified of the other ghosts and so to have a non-ghost companion he managed to put half of his soul into an abandoned roomba. thats ortho. ortho is a possessed roomba and he rams into Many ankles. do you see my visions

crowley only holds housewarden meetings because its his weekly source of entertainment. he puts all of the housewardens into one room with the vaguest agenda item and no structure to the meeting, sits back, and watches it dissolve into chaos. he's not breaking it up. its like a telenovela to him

So I’m new to the nhie fandom, watched for the first time like last month and with the teaser this is the first time I’m experiencing an active fandom for this show and not just reading a lot of fanfic and metas (thank u for your service on both fronts btw) and a part of me shouldnt really be that much surprised with how vitriolic fans of either “team” of the triangle would get with each other, cuz this isnt my first rodeo of ship wars and stuff, but similarly to you I really like both ships and have no hatred for either character and really dont get why anyone else would really tbh.

Still, I read a tweet a few days ago that I CANT get out of my mind no matter how much I try. A daxton shipper who said something among the lines of not wanting Devi to end up with her racist bully and like… I’m scratching my head trying to understand that. Bully I get it, dont agree with the interpretation, but I can see why someone would think that, but racist?? I can’t think of any moment of him being racist. Did I miss something? I’m genuinely asking cuz being a white latina who lives in LATAM is not like I know all the ins and outs of racial politics in the US, but like the only instance of racism that I can think of in Benvi interactions is the antisemitic comment Devi made in episode 2, but I dont think thats it.

ah, active fandom. a double-edged sword if ever there was one. i have curated my fandom experience to the extreme so i don't have to see uncharitable interpretations of either paxton or ben. bums me out too much tbh. also i'm not on twitter. that helps!

anyway, to answer your question, there are two major components to ben's racism (as far as i'm aware, could be there are more that i'm not sensitive to): ben's line about "it'll collect on your mustache" in 1.02 and ben calling devi 'david'.

the first plays into the way western beauty standards are oppressive to women of color. the second plays into the way any names that don't fit into a very narrow anglicization often get americanized anyway because white teachers and classmates won't even do the baseline work to pronounce people's names right.

now, the fact that the nickname undoubtedly contributes to a broader cultural insensitivity that affects real life people can and does exist alongside the writing itself having an affection for and therefore being unwilling to condemn the use of the nickname. speaking personally, i find it really easy to romanticize the nickname without losing sight of the fact that i have the privilege of finding it romantic because i've never had my name forcefully colonized.

now i'm gonna ask you a question, hopefully you don't mind! what was binging the first three seasons like? i'm mostly interested what stuck out to you, if you noticed the s2 tone shift that seemed/seems so drastic to me, if you have a favorite episode and/or season.

i have repeated this thought to some degree in the past but now i have 130 followers so hopefully i dont get sniped for my perspective lol. but as an old school mindcrack vet i just dont get the "c!" stuff. and i dont mean this in a "please explain this to me". i know what it means-- c! means character, cc! means content creator. so i know that and i know what they imply. people seperate the creator into a "character" and people tend to use that to make it clear theyre talking about a "character" mainly when making headcanons, ships, etc.

what i do mean is. i dont understand how to see these guys as characters unless we are talking like Empires, or even as i see WCsmp (or any cc who states they are playing a character in some way)- those servers are when they have very defined characters often with new names (to be clear i havent watched much of wcsmp, but they got that whole witch thing with loads of lore? so?). hermitcraft isnt often that at all... i know s8 was very unique in the way that a few people did that, and some ppl take on a base aesthetic i can see why people would want to seperate things like that to some degree, making an idea/design/etc out of it or coming up with stuff about the bases- but what they do in videos is 90% of the time meta. its normal cc talk, cc talking about their base/work/game stuff etc etc. putting aside s8 entirely there are no 'characters' to take from most seasons outside of bits maybe-- which means that i see people are just like. making a character out of them, despite there being none. i just never get into the larger fandom, lore, etc because in my head i just dont get why it exists. this isnt a jab at the creative fanworks, its lovely, but i see no point to it because it doesnt stop me from creating like everyone else.

it wasnt like this with mindcrack, there was no "c!' stuff. it was just. the guy. the cc. and that didnt stop us from fan art, shipping, headcanons, and fan fics. im not gonna tell anyone to not seperate ppl into c! and cc! its fine you can do whatever. but in my head i genuinely cant imagine processing it this way unless its actually a server defined as a roleplay server or the cc stating this themself in a whatever context. the ppl i watch (esp people like etho or bdubs (yes even way back when bdubs did the b team mafia bit! it was still The Guy doing a bit)) are just themselves to me, the content creator, but that doesnt mean i think its weird to ship them or write them or whatever. it wasnt weird with mindcrack, so my mindset on this just hasnt shifted at all. (but on a personal note- its why i dont like the idea of making specific gender or sexuality headcanons cuz i feel its wrong to overwrite some real person's identity regardless of c! or cc!). when i first jumped in this fandom i was sooooo confused by this idea. i thought some of these people were playing pretty obvious characters with how much fandom built them up. so the fact i discovered this really wasnt the case confused me more and made it really hard for me to understand this perspective, esp with my oldschool views.

Honestly ever since ive gotten into the alternative universes (like 6 years ago?) ive been SO invested in them i dont think ive EVER felt this way about anything else

I was so confused as to why i cant stay in other fandoms for more then a year at best and i think you just opened my eyes to the reason😭

With other things i feel like a character is acting/thinking in strictly one way and any other interpretations just feel weird, but in the utmv EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE Its literally so endless

I have at least 3 ways two characters might interact with eachother (gods forbid groups of people) and they ALL feel right because ive read about them, and if someones made it, it means it exists in the multiverse

Ive never felt so much freedom and ways things could branch out in a fandom and i dont even know many small aus. I mainly focus on the main ones (plus a shit load of ship kids, i LIVE for the ship kids, i might be able to name more kids than anyone else in this hell hole) however once i dont have situations to put one group in i just move to another, and to another, and to another and it never runs out because i see new things about them SO often

i think the creators in the undertale multiverse is SUCH a creative concept and even though it's fourth wall breaking it's so amazing that it deserves to break the fourth wall

everytime other medias and games or stories break the fourth wall it's either taken unseriously (like pinkie pie from mlp or family guy cutaways) or people shit on it for being out of place and just a deus ex machina or something (hi3 i will NEVER hate you for including the players in the final arc) but the undertale multiverse completely subverts that. actually the entire MULTIVERSE is BASED on the concept that people are willing to make media and art and writing and that is what keeps these ocs and worlds and creations going and alive

the utmv isn't even a real thing. like it's not a fandom that spawned from a book or a movie or a show or game or comic. ok well it technically is but the undertale fandom and the undertale AUs fandon are two different things i think. like undertale aus ofc came from undertale but that's a whole seperate branch of things and sometimes those aus have NOTHING to do with undertale (looking at you dreamtale. and others.)

but the fact that a whole seperate branch of a fandom was created just because people wanted to expand on one tiny game and had so much love for it that it spawned this clusterfuck of a fandom is just so amazing to me. i don't think any other fandom has THIS extensive of a multiverse with aus where the people holding the pencils and typing words are so heavily engrained into the lore (ink and error i will forever love you for being aware of creators I AM AWARE OF YOU TOO!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!)

in other fandoms there's a strict canon for medias but in the utmv a lot of aus are just a brief concept and maybe some charactization and that's it (dusttale ily 4 this. dusttale is peak fiction). and if you like the concept enough you can make another concept based on it. and if someone else likes your au enough they might make another au based on it or write headcanons for it. and it's so cool that this fandom is kinda self sustaining in a way. undertale's probably never gonna get another update or game and even though deltarune has its connections its a completely seperate thing. but somehow the fandom is alive and still pumping out tons of amazing content

and the fact that we control all of these character's actions is so daunting but also so cool. like these characters do these things because we basically script them to do. we as creators are the ones drawing the angst or writing the shit posts. if a character is self aware of the creators that's just because we MADE them aware. so are they really aware or are we just pretending that we are. if a character is powerful that's just because we made them powerful. if a character hates the creators we made them hate us. if a character destroys aus we make them do that. but they don't actually feel that way or do those things, that's just what we tell them to do and i think that's really cool

ive yapped a lot about this topic (i still have so much more to say) but i'll hold it back and just talk about one last thing and that's headcanons and interpretations. I LOVE PEOPLE'S INDIVIDUAL INTERPRETATIONS!!! I LOVE PEOPLE'S HEADCANONS FOR CHARACTERS!!! i love seeing how other people think the mtt (or other characters but i am a murder time trio fanatic) would interact or how they would act. i love seeing people's dumb comics of them bickering or making out (errrmmmmm) because it's all different. all these people came up with their own ideas and thoughts on how to expand these relatively basic concepts and it's all different because everyone's different and gone through different things <333

all in all i love you undertale multiverse. this fandom is one of the most unique i've ever had the joy of being in and i hope it never dies out (if it dies out what will happen to all of the amazing creations and worlds and people we've made 😕😕😕 ink will be sad. so pls don't die utmv)

It’s time, once again, for AFTG Hot Takes, the show where I just say whatever the fuck pops into my head.

Today’s topic: Kevin Day and his romantic interests.

Now, okay, I’ve discussed this a bit in previous posts. I’m not going to go too far in depth for the two ships I’ve talked about already.

Please, for the love of god, these are just my opinions. I’m literally just a teenager on the internet. It’s not that deep, you don’t need to write a ten paragraph essay on why grooming is okay (although tbf that made my night. Still waiting on a reply, bb)

With that out of the way, let’s get into it.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of most Kevin ships. I only like two of them, so we’ll save those for last.

1. First up we’ve got Kevandriel, Kevneil, and Kevandrew (pls dont @ me, i’m not 100% on those names)

I hate it. Despise it. Just so bad. Ew.

I made a whole post on why I have Kevandriel, read it if you want. 

Kevandrew (Kevin/Andrew) just doesn’t make any sense. Their personalities don’t mesh at all. Kevin doesn’t take no for an answer, which is something that is so important for Andrew.

Kevneil (Kevin/Neil) is one I just don’t like because, as we all know, I am a petty bitch. I don’t have a reason for disliking it, really. It just... idk, gives me the ick.

2. Moving on, Kevin and Thea.

I made a post regarding this one too, check it out (or don’t).

I don’t feel like rehashing all of that tho, honestly. (but pls feel free to read the reblogs, some were v good and others just made me cackle. Still looking at you, grooming guy)

3. Now, onto the ones I haven’t discussed. We’ll go with Kevjean first.

So, I mean... it’s not impossible that this actually happened in cannon, however. Just judging by the reactions these two had to each other once Jean was out of the Nest, them sustaining a healthy relationship would be nearly impossible.

Also, I am a diehard Jerjean fan (thanks gus_47, I blame you and the masterpiece that is Hoax for this) so I just... can’t bring myself to picture Jean with anyone else.

4. Kevin and Jeremy!

Listen, I don’t hate this one. I simply adore those fun lil fics where Kev is tripping over himself cause he’s in love with Jeremy (looking at you, quicksand). They’re so fun! But, Jerjean owns my soul (again, thank you Hoax) so it’s gonna have to be a no from me.

5. Kevin and Matt

I’ll be real with you, I didn’t know this existed until yesterday, and I am shocked.

I haven’t stopped to think about it much, and I probably won’t, because Dan. I just- that is her husband, excuse you.

6. Kevallison (Kevin/Allison)

I don’t mind this one, honestly. I sorta get it, tbf. 

HOWEVER.

Diehard Renison fan. Enough said.

And now, at last, we come to the two Kevin ships that I can (and do!!) suport whole-heartedly.

7. Kevaaron !! (Kevin/Aaron)

Listen, I just love their personalities. I love the idea of these two assholes healing together. Simply adore.

Before you say it (you know who you are, and yes I’m still salty ab this) I. Don’t. Ship. It. Because. I. Want. Andrew. And. Kevin. Together. ffs, people. What kind of person do you think I am?

Hello hello!!! Thanks sm for being interested~ Ill share some little ideas/things about this universe and AU since I dont want to go too wild with TPATMOS Comic. So ill ramble on little ideas that most likely wont show up~ So be ready for some hot spam text:

World: -The world is mostly fantasy based. If I were to make it 'accurate' to pirate history, and how they live. it wouldnt be all that fun. So the world is made up on DnD fantasy type logic. Magic, Myths, Enchantments, Curses, Gods of all kinds. All of that exist in this AU. -So its just fantasy pirate setting. Shadow's Ship: -Originally Named The Ark ( not sure if it would be renamed or kept the same ) -Shadows ship is unique even in this fantasy setting. His ship is powered by a chaos emerald that is hidden away in his quarters. -The emerald sits in the middle of something similar to an orrery. -The emerald powers his ship heavily. Such as keeping lights on, and fires going. It steers his ship without needing much wind if commanded to do so. But most importantly, the most unique thing the emerald can do is lift hip ship into the air. Air ships are just as common as sea ships, but one that can do both is rare or at least 'expensive' material wise. -Shadows Ship is large, he has his ship full to the brim with loyal crew members, it very much is like a small community. But a pirate community so its still semi rowdy. Shadow: -Hes made quite the name for himself out at sea. -Shadows main target when pirating is army ships and actually anyone brave enough to pick a fight with his ship. If they shot first- its only plight to send a reply back. -Shadow isnt fond of having his ship in the sky. the only reason he leaves the sea are for the following: 1: the ships underside needs to be cleaned. 2: avoiding a fleet of army vessels that could be an overwhelming match / rivals who teamed up and arnt worth his time. 3: secret for now.

-Shadow only ever shows mercy to those he deems worthy of it. children, the sick, and ones in mental distress. those are the ones that often get a pass. The most he does is leave them at the next island that clearly has some kind of civilization. other than that he wont lend anymore. Surprisingly the only reason he allowed sonic to stay was because he has a kid brother. -Rouge absolutely calls bullshit. Claiming shadow 'has a thing for blue' his reply if they were alone would be hinting to her being correct. Shadows ex boyfriend being a darker shade of blue with red eyes and goes by the name metal...

-shadow is 100% gay in this AU.

-Shadow has a cat that wonders the ship. Everyone adores Cathulhu. A calico little thing. Sonic: -Sonic was fished out of a ship wreak along with tails, and if it werent for them being brothers he would probably be tossed back into the wreak he was fished out from.

-Sonic being saved is rare, since shadow would toss enemies overboard and this being a rare occasion. everyone MUST be useful in some way. sonic is assigned to basically be something similar to a maid on the ship. getting the worst jobs.

-Sonic eventually starts to prove himself as useful, and having tails around improving a lot of the strange tech on board also helped sway the crew on letting the two stay.

-In the comic currently sonic has been on board for a little over 3 months. His stay is much longer than anyone else they ever fished out from the ocean. Its very much accepted that blue is here to stay.

-Sonic thinks the captain sure is handsome too bad he can be a buzzkill sometimes. Other characters: -Rouge: She actually has a bar on board. she also is the only one besides shadow who has her own quarters. Shadow says she has the larger room since she enjoys to splurge. -Omega: Hes not a robot but he is a wondering soul bound to a set of armor. I guess the best visual example would be Al from full metal alchemist lol
