omg something just popped into my head and I need to know where I heard the story from

there was like. a guy. who works on some kind of drilling operation maybe? and he brought his son. and then a thing happened and the operation collapsed. but the whole crew was somehow alright, they landed in an air pocket. and every day the crew would go searching for a way out while the guy's son would sit on the scaffolding of the rig and play with his fish toys while looking at the water.

and the crew members realized there were creatures living in the water, and they got paranoid that the creatures were dangerous, and the guy told his son to stay inside. and it escalates for a while until the son goes missing, and then they start a witch hunt, swearing to kill the fish whatever creatures, only to find out that the son and a child of the fish creatures had snuck away together to play. and I think it lead to some kind of understanding but I don't remember where it went from there. maybe it was one of those open endings.

Anyway if youre like me and have trouble visualizing poses you have in mind, 3D models are a godsend.

The structure and proportions of the models arnt perfect even if you resize them, so I end up adjusting a LOT. I just need the general shape of the poses.

Helloooo popping in to say I love your art! It’s cute and feels soft (reminds me of when you’ve got a really smooth pencil and it just ghosts across the paper) but your poses and anatomy also give it a good feeling of realism :D

I really enjoy comics!! I like poking thru graphic novels and webcomics, so I've fallen into the habit of exposing myself to lots of different styles over time that I'm fairly explorative with my art. It gives me a lot to study, especially since different artists have different strengths and preferences

I also think of myself as a simple person, so I'm not strongly attached to anything in particular... I notice a lot of artists find their ground in certain interests or aesthetics. But since I'm not really like that, I try to put a bit of myself in whatever I draw to connect with my art better. Its probably why I like taking creative liberty when making fanart lol

im also drawn to indie creative work like games and animation! they tend to be extremely varied and unique from each other, which is great since I work from my own sense of curiosity. I also hate repetition, so having things that set themselves apart visually or otherwise is something I like to look for.

i understand that with the themes of mistborn and the conditions of the skaa (read: chattle slavery) it would be a little? fucked up? to portray skaa with afrocentric features but honestly for the fact that scadrial is so Hot and Hot and Sun and Hot its weird most the characters are depicted with straight hair and paler skin. anyways all this to say one must imagine kelsier fortnite mistborn sunburnt to all hell and back

so like i want to talk more abt what suicidal means but the problem is "suicidal ideation presents in two general forms, active and passive. the thing most people think of as suicidal is the active version, where the person *actively* desires to be dead and/or is making a plan to get there. the passive form however gets almost no attention in media so many people experiencing it are unaware they are even depressed, much less passively suicidal. some examples: not wanting to experience death but feeling like you wouldn't mind if you didn't wake up tomorrow or just stopped existing; feeling deeply exhausted with just the entire concept of being alive; even feeling like you want to run away, change your name, and start a whole new life; none of these look like suicidal ideation to most people because they don't involve actively doing anything to get from point a to point b, especially the more abstract ones like the start a new life thing - but remember that in order to truly start a whole new life, you have to destroy your current one. it's not suicidal as in wanting to actually DIE die, it's just. wanting something close enough to scratch the itch. but just because you haven't booked the ticket doesn't mean you don't still revisit the 'vacation activities at point b' tab occasionally to daydream, yknow?" is i think very informative and specific, but its also quite long and run on-y so people are v likely to tap out like a third of the way through it, whereas "suicidal doesnt necessarily mean wanting to die" is way shorter and therefore catchier, but is also the kind of nonspecific phrasing that gets you a thousand angry anons about how you said all suicidal people are just pretending they actually want to die or some dumb shit. so it's a fun line to toe

Ever since we joined this fandom in September we've seen so much infantilization of lunar and GOD its frustrating especially because most if not all of the "kidlike" aspects are autistic traits

And the show itself is no help, as much as Monty's whole "Lunar is my son" thing is cute it's just feeding into the idea that he's a child and he's not [text ID: "not" in italics]

Personally I think the Lord Lunar we saw in the recent 2 parter with Gregory most accurately represents that Lunar is no child. He can handle himself and he's not stupid [text ID: "stupid" in italics], as we see when he's like "oh yeah i know what eclipse is doing lmao"
