while im already on the train of teen wolf thoughts, i might as well say that i do not get sterek. romantically anyway. that ship is so intensely POPULAR and ive been seeing stuff about it for literal years, way before i ever even considered watching teen wolf or really knew what it was. pretty much every teen wolf fic i see on ao3 has some manner of sterek in it unless i SPECIFICALLY search for something else, like its just a given part of fanon, but now that im actually watching it im kinda like. where? like yeah they had that one vaguely homoerotic wall-pinning moment in season 1, they snark at each other a lot, but like. i don't even see them together that often. and that's not even MENTIONING the fact that in season 1 stiles is 15/16 and derek is fucking,, 22 (or 20, I'm not sure on his age but ik its at least a four-year difference),,, which is just. yeah no thanks

if anything they strike me more as, like, goofy, vaguely sibling-coded friends. stiles came along as a package deal with scott and started annoying the shit out of derek and derek had no say in the matter whatsoever, and i think that's beautiful.

all this being said, stiles is absolutely bisexual

the way some people straight up have no respect for asou's writing is actually kind of insane to me 😭 like youre a fan of HIS manga, but you outwardly express your disregard for the intentions he had when writing....... disregarding canon can be super duper funsies and cool sometimes, but to straight up say "i dont care what he intended and think my headcanons are more canon than what he wrote because i think he wrote it badly/he sucks at writing this dynamic/i dont like the ship (or whatever) he was trying to imply" is literally just insanely disrespectful IN MY OPINION 😖

i think maybe im just annoyed at how badly people misuse the words "canon", "coded", and "implied" (which im also guilty of occasionally- especially when i first came here) cuz like... "i choose not to acknowledge this thing that is canon or technically canon or implied" is fine (usually). Still reeling from that one time I posted like. Within the tags of a cute fanart something vague about how I liked a certain ship with a female character with a male character. And I started getting days of people trying to ratio me and sending me really fucked up anons that I just deleted rather than dealt with about how I'm I'm lesbophobic aphobic homophobic misogynistic proship abuse apologist freak who's ignoring the creators intent and like. I was a lesbian also exploring my own (at the time tenuous+shaky, because I was worried that realizing things about potentially being bisexual would get me hate for "abandoning lesbians") attraction to men at the time. And how all of That literally just stopped me from potentially trying to do any further thought into how I felt about men for Years, as well as stopped me making art or writing about the ship I liked at the time because I Really didn't want it to get worse and just wanted it to stop and go away. Like what was all that about lmao

And all that because within canon and popular fandom perception was of the character not being attracted to men. Like??
