i live in my imagination

i realized this a few days ago but classic me, I avoided it. but that was until I made the "ugly side of shifting" post. so this is me coming to terms with the fact that I live in my imagination. its been like that for years but it hit way harder when i got into shifting. it was just something I did when I didn't want to be surrounded by the real world. but I realize that its become an unhealthy amount. I don't suffer from maladaptive daydreaming or anything (at least I dont think I do), but that doesn't mean its not affecting me mentally and even socially. I dont have the desire to hang out with my cr friends like that because I'm so used to my imagination. it makes me comfortable because I can made it however I wanted it to be. I can make the people say and do whatever. its part of the reason I don't really talk about my problems to people I'm close with too. they aren't going to tell me the stuff I want to hear or its going to end up being something I've heard already. i recently started saying that I like the way I do things. which is true. I like being in my own space dealing with my issues on my own because no one else would tell me what I need to hear.

and when the thought that it was becoming an unhealthy obsession hit me, I hated it. and I still do. I don't want to give up on something that has made me stable and happy for years, but I know that if I want to shift and also make a real bond with my cr, I have to. so that's why I'm making a post. this is one of those things I cant do alone or keep to myself because again, I like the way I handle things so if it was up to me, I would delete this blog and go back to daydreaming 24/7, but I actually want to shift. I'm hoping that with this post we'll hold each other accountable and remind each other to actually SHIFT instead of daydreaming all the time.

sadly I don't have a lot of ideas of how to minimize day dreaming because everything I do makes me day dream BUT we are cutting all fanfics out those only make our imaginations bigger and cause us to daydream. so DONT. start embracing your CR and do smth like go outside or paint or do a new mf hobby. avoid daydreaming as much as you can

i gave up on a lot of problem solving, but this is one I intend to actually fix. and I would love for y'all to do that with me. if you don't want to that's perfectly fine I wouldn't want anyone to feel forced, but if you know you can then do it. don't say nothing like "oh no I cant do it I give up" because that sets you back further. so please at least try

Thinking about the papyrus that makes the puzzles in nightmares castle

Also yes he IS the papyrus of something new, though from another timeline

Like he was there in like..the early days when they castle was done but not like, fully.

So like he must know nightmare VERY well, better then he knows his own brother at this point. Though he doesn't even know where his brother is, but from what he was told he may be dead?

Anyways, i think it'd be a relationship akin to whatever it is with flowey and papyrus. Papyrus still believes nightmare can be a good person.

Also i think nightmare would've tried the "hurting them as discipline" method once, when he was really angry. Only to be surprised that the papyrus got out his hold and went and hid in the library. Yeah he didn't realize that the occasional sparring and just watching him fight was enough for papyrus to get a rough idea of what to do, along with knowing him enough personally to know nightmare hates hurting his books and avoids it as much as he can.

Even more surprised when after he calmed down papyrus asked if he was alright, the reason why he did it, straight up just forced him to talk about it, and gave him a pat on the head and praised him for talking about his feelings

Yes this man forced an immortal being to say why he did what he did and even scolded him since "he could just tell him if he wanted something changed."

I truly think papyrus could fight god and win but ok

(Nightmare avoided papyrus for a while after that just...confused.)

being close to nightmare for a while i think he might've gone slightly off the rails mentally, just witnessing the insane shit nightmare does and maybe even because of his aura?

He is still very much papyrus, but he is a little closer to being like HT papyrus mentally.

Also i think he'd wear other clothing, actual armor instead of his battle body. Maybe something like a cloak too, thats like hanging off the side of his shoulder (that has a name, no idea what it is, just bear with me because i dont know how this shit works ✊️)

He's technically a guard in title, though he doesn't really do much guarding. Atleast he fulfilled his wish of being a royal guard?

He probably also learned proper etiquette, dancing and swordfighting. He doesn't really need it he just saw nightmare doing it and he thought if was cool, and well, nightmare doesnt have much to do after all of his friends dying- so he teached papyrus

He also knows piano! He is mostly self taught, and a little of when undyne taught him the basics. He learned because he missed undyne 😔

Actually, i think he'd pick up hobbies or have items to remind him of his friends. Snagging a random sanses hoodie because it looked like his brothers (and leaving some g and an apology note after.), learning piano(undyne), making his own hot chocolate recipe(grillby), ACTUALLY learning how to cook(undyne again), learning how to play the trombone(sans)

Also, just imagining nightmare wanting to fuck with killer so while killer is in the office he calls the papyrus over (and says to find his battle body) without telling killer. And just...killer being met with a papyrus that looks so eerily close to his. (I think every papyrus's body is slightly different, you dont notice it unless you'd be his brother or something)

Nightmare got scolded by papyrus afterwards but he wasn't really listening

Also papyrus spars with others frequently :3, he got permission to go out to AUs and spar with the people there (its mostly papyruses, undynes and alphyses but sometimes others too!) And he's done it for a long time aswell, he got really good at it! And he got even BETTER control of his magic then he already had

If you were to ever fight this papyrus it'd be one hell of a challenge for a shit ton of people, so thats fun

I admire how the death threats and mean comments dont get to you, you're so strong for that

i wouldn't really say i'm strong as much as i am lucky, fortunate and privileged enough to have an enriched life where i have so much good in it that a death threat or some online insults don't really do much to me.

anyway my tips on not letting this shit get to you:

1) go out w friends, family, anyone you know, etc... i know not everyone has the freedom to do that but a free/cheap outing with someone you like hanging out with is a life changer! if you don't have anyone, go out and try to find people. volunteer, speak to classmates/coworkers, invest time into new hobbies, join clubs/hobby groups, etc...

2) we all have people we look up to, right? see how they deal with hardship. i was watching a salon drip ep with bts member jin in it and he said something along the lines of: "i just say, 'it's okay/it's bound to happen because im a superstar' whenever something bad happens." that's my mindset. it's okay because i'm happy, healthy and doing something with my life. bad things are bound to happen if i put myself out there. i have people online who like to read my bullshit. i have friends who go out with me. i have a family who love me. i don't need to care about what some anti shipper says. the fact they compared me to p diddy when i literally just go to uni, work, do assignments, eat, sleep and play all day is crazy. can't take it seriously when i examine my own life and i just see a normal person.

3) try to win the dgaf war. i am not kidding. do not give a fuck. i say to myself: "whoever is writing this shit is more miserable than you will ever be because you haven't reached the pathetic point in life where you tell people to die because they ship something." then i move on and listen to seaside rendezvous and drink some cheap wine.

overall, just live life with your heart full, i know mental illness, physical illness, chronic issues keep a lot of people tired and tormented but just trying to live is enough. keep pushing, don't listen to sickos. just say "it's okay because i'm a human being" and this happens to everyone. we all have people who don't like us, will be mean to us for practically no reason and bad days that bring us down. what's important is just trying to live, love your life as much as you can and usually life will try to love you back.

In her hand was a book of photos she put together for him with little stickers of slimes and aranara with smiley faces, handing it to hatguy as he took his time with each page and noticing the many 'new' pictures, some being ones he didn't give to the lessor lord. "Your a stalker now too? I guess reading minds isnt enough for you." Ignoring his comment buer took out another book. One titled 'Nahida's sumeru travel guide' with a cover drawing of a purple cat barely paying attention to the light green cat. "Do you have to insist on making everything look like a coloring book..." Nahida didnt reply, mearling looking away and humming a tune similar to the aranara while he began his walk to the park.

Whenever you two would hang out together it was in the library within the akedemiya or anywhere he chose. But this time, He just couldnt let go. Was he scared? As much as you implied, you'd never do such things It always rang in the back of his mechanical ears. If only he was still a harbinger, He would've did everything in his power more then he could now to get you the stable income or whatever humans would need in any region or place in teyvat you wanted. Just say the word and he would've done it regardless of her 'excellency' but he couldnt now, all he could do was use this 'curse' which he called emotions to help understand you. "Kuni-...Please let me go....Im alright." you sniffled. He immediately noticed your change in tone. It was soothing just how you always talked to him yet he still felt wary.

With a few more tugs it felt as if his grip only tighter the more you tugged. In defeat, you brokenly sighed and sat back next to the puppet. A part of him was irked at your own confusion. But he never once regretted trying to comfort you through it when, and when you didnt ask. Even awaiting you at your home before you messaged him. It felt as if you sat in the park for hours within cold silence as your throat and chest burned trying making out words but every attempt was cut off by insecurity.

You always knew he loved you, but even your black and white reality began looking different colors. You shuttered while looked at him again, meeting eyes and Surprised that his hat was off. Resting on the bench's crook. "How about..I join the akademiya with you?" you let go of his soft hand, beginning to wipe your eyes until he pulled a green cloth with flowers printed on it out his pants pocket, Damping away your tears as you subtly smiled and sniffled. "I never knew you we're into cute things like this kuni." 'cute?' "Well. You can always rely on this..unique archon of yours to make her presence." you didnt ask any further. Trying to hold back a laugh at the picture of nahida whacking him uptop his head for god knows what. He looked at the picture, intrigued on why you we're laughing. 'buer you had one fucking job-' then back at you again. "No need to thank me- i-" cutting him off, you kissed kuni on his cheek "I love it kuni." 'his skin is so soft~' you thought. "Then I guess I should thank you too." The puppet shifted closer to you moving the book back in the bag and out of your view behind him. "W-wait kuni- not here we're in a park!" he sucked his teeth and still moved closer to you, sinking his face into your neck as you leaned back "And? thats even better, every person here can know how important you are to me. Got a problem with that?." He began tugging at the buttons on your shirt "Or..Does my baby want to continue this at home? I'll let you choose this time."

You fumbled with the keys as you locked the door behind you. Kuni was already tugging onto you. Biting and leaving petals of kisses along your neck. "K-kuni~ slow down.." you moaned. Then Call me and we'll go for another walk if you want. Im sure that childish archon has plenty ideas too."(He thought back to the bell). Some of his advice was stuff you've already heard. Even though it is easier said then done your heart warmed at his ideals. He even wanted to get in the akedemiya just for you, he was willing to do so much. Even if you felt better for a day or made the smallest progress Kuni would be proud.

Omori Manga Thoughts cause it was uhhh

OK so like. The thing is I only got into the omori fandom in February of this year so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

1. I'm mostly a fan of the art style-- a lot of people said that Sunny always seems to have a panicked expression so it's hard to read into him, plus the characters look a lot younger than they're supposed to (Which I find odd). But other than that, I think it does a really good job representing the scarier parts with very abstract drawings of Mari/Something. They coloured it well and thank god did Kel's skintone right. There is one particular panel that I especially love:

So much detail and it captures the feeling of seeing faraway for the first time really well ^^

Some nitpicky positive thoughts:

Sunny could have looked more distinct from Omori because the only difference I see are their outfits. Maybe make Sunny's features softer and have less contrasting values so we can see an immediate difference.

I like how they did everyone's eyes-- Sunny/Omori's are just dull and black, and everyone else with dark eyes are shown to have a light in them. (Just a nice detail i appreciated)

I like how Omori is clearly less expressive compared to sunny, but I think Sunny could have benefitted from having more emotions than surprised/blushing.

2. The pacing was weird. like really fucking weird. The basic structure of the game Omori is: Omori is in whitespace -> Omori plus the gang (Hero, Aubrey and Kel) meet up with Basil and Mari in headspace -> everyone minus Mari goes to Basil's house and learn all the combat stuff along the way -> after fixing the photo album it suddenly shifts to basil in a panicked state before glitching you back into white space again. The moment when basil shifts the mood from calm to terrifying is REALLY important.

It forces the new tone on you very suddenly and also sets up a lot of mystery surrounding Mari when Basil can't finish what he was going to say about her. By now we know that something is very wrong and it has to do with Mari, but we don't know what.

The manga is kind of all over the place the whole time. First we see the christmas scene when Sunny gets his violin. But then Mari does her whole nightmare thing and we know somethings up from the first few pages. Next we wake up at night as Sunny in the real world... yet it shows the little "THREE DAYS LEFT" as well? At this point I was super confused because basically the entire nighttime sequence is shown through a sort of montage with Sunny's mom's voice message in the background before transitioning into the day when Kel first knocks on the door. A cool thing they did was parallel Kel's knocking with the creepy knocking we get from Mari Something. HOWEVER for reasons unknown they just completely cut out the fight against something on the stairs??

Something I was really excited about was seeing how they would integrate the combat into the manga. And they do it later with the Aubrey fight (more on that later), but not now? So now I'm wondering if they'll include Sunny's three fears that he has to overcome.

So next we find our boy (KEL!!!!!) and he is asking Sunny if he wants to come to Hobbies. I did find the dialogue here pretty awkward as Kel bounced back and forth in demeanor, but that's to be expected since Sunny isn't talking. (And I appreciate how he shows some kind of reaction to seeing one of his best friends after 4 years lol)

I mean compared to this when he just jumps straight into his hobbez idea without much reaction to actually seeing Sunny lol.

The most notable thing after this is the Aubrey confrontation with Basil and the other hooligans. I DONT KNOW WHY but they chose to not show the hooligans in that scene!! The hooligans are aubrey's little gang/posse who she hangs around with all the time and the people we always see when she's bullying Basil.

It's very important to note that Basil is talking to KIM here. He starts the conversation begging for her to tell Aubrey to give the photo album back. Aubrey is actively ignoring his attempts to get it back, with basil claiming "She won't listen to me."

In the manga she appears out of seemingly no where and proceeds to beat Basil directly with her bat. Prior to this we get no setup or explanation as to why Aubrey's attacking him or what the situation is. WORST OF ALL, It's only Aubrey alone attacking him and NOT her gang of the Hooligans. The hooligans are important in showing us just how isolated and ostracized from society Basil really is after Aubrey began bullying him. He literally has a whole gang of kids who call him a creep and attack him regularly. Here it seems like Aubrey is insane and is just beating him selfless for kicks. (not that I'm justifying Aubrey's behavior in the game, but the lack of context makes this situation even worse.)

I think It's also important to bring up how they switched around the order of events because in this situation, it's not working. We're supposed to first be introduced to younger Aubrey and Basil in headspace-- their younger counterparts. Aubrey is strong-willed and excitable and Basil is calm and kind. And most importantly-- they're VERY GOOD FRIENDS. So seeing Aubrey revealed to have been bullying him these past 4 years shocks the player and makes them understand how much things have really changed. Doing it the other way around will automatically villainize DW Aubrey since we already know what goes on in real life.

And then something interesting happens-- Sunny blacks out during the fight and returns to Headspace. This is SUPER weird as we've only ever seen Sunny go into headspace while sleeping, because it's an escape mechanism he uses to avoid The Truth. Does this mean he isn't aware he goes into headspace unwillingly sometimes? And what does this mean for the continuation of the real world story? Are we going to go through the entire Space Boy quest just to get back to that scene?

Anyway, I'm interested to see how they take it from here. Maybe they'll do a continuous switchover to the real world where they jump between it more frequently. But I question what that would mean for the timeline because the events of headspace happen in between the three days while Sunny is sleeping-- so he can't be in two places at the same time. Maybe they'll write more and more random ways for Sunny to black out to do this?? They defiantly are trying to take a step back from following the game exactly. I can't say I don't like it because I don't know how it'll turn out, so I'm excited for chapter 2!

patrick hockstetter analysis hi, i realize there was spelling mistakes on my henry bowers one but i'm really too lazy to go over it all and fix em so if theres some on here too then ignore it! don't come at me for the hypothetical disorders i'm saying patrick may have, i do believe he probably is on the spectrum somehow and i will not listen to anyone who says otherwise.

patrick is SO INTERESTING, the disorders that i suspect he has is possibly CIPA as he doesnt show much reaction to pain and possibly some sort of BPD or autism but im more sure of CIPA. but it's confirmed for him to have solipsism he doesnt think other people or things are real, the reason he killed his little brother avery is because he felt avery was real and his parents were taking attention away from him. he doesnt like deviating from his schedule, he expects dinner to be at the same time, parents to be in bed at a certain time every day but the baby took away from that and so he suffocated avery to death. i believe he also has a sort of god complex as he thinks he decides what happens in the world. he doesnt think him harming people and animals matters because they aren't real anyways and meerly toys for him so he doesnt get bored. we don't get a lot of background on patrick let alone his parents but the movie gives us jack-shit about him. he's obviously a pyromaniac and doesnt seem to have any reaction to pain, laughing when henry hurts him after patrick sexually assaults him. he has a sort of psychosis, he doesn't love anyone besides himself but its not in a narcissistic way. he doesnt really have attachments to anyone, his family could die and he'd just be worried about whats for dinner. he'd only be upset cause it ruins his schedule. He would be upset if bowers gang died but simply because they bring him entertainment and its someone to bully kids with. I feel he probably was subjected to some sort of trauma when he was younger, possibly sexual or some form of neglect. people arent usually born acting how patrick does and all the adults shown in derry seem to be abusive or neglectful. his favorite past time is to torture kids and animals, he enjoys taking their lives, he has a fridge full of tortured animal corpses, mainly cats. since the fridge is his favorite thing it gets used as a factor of his demise, after sexually assaulting henry he goes to his fridge and is killed by pennywise. he loves to spend time at the barrens/junkyard since thats where a lot of the violence happens, those places being frequent bowers gang hang out spots. Bowers gang is scared of him, most adults are too. theres rumors floating around of patricks hobbies so people often let him do whatever he wants as to not agitate him. I dont know if victor and belch exactly know about the fridge as its a little hidden away in the junkyard but henry knows, when patrick teases henry for "letting him" sexually assault him henry shouts "if you fucking tell anyone about this im telling everyone about your fridge and you'll be taken away" or something similar. Henry keeps him around since 1, hes deeply scared of patrick and doesnt want to anger him 2, he also finds ways to entertain henry, helping him blow off steam from the abuse at home on other kids and sometimes animals. henry seems to be a big fan of animals but when he starts to go crazy after patrick dies he shows similarities to patricks behavior, growing violent with dogs and cats and being more murder-driven with his bullying. patrick seems kind of obsessed with henry but it could just be finding henry useful or a good source of entertainment and he can torture henry to end up getting what he wants. patrick is only fueled by his own selfish desires, he has no exact motivation for doing anything, other than him deciding he wants to. psychosis can be drawn out by not sleeping sometimes and maybe patrick could suffer from hallucinations, in the movie it seems he's scared of what he's killed coming back to life but honestly i dont think thats really accurate as i dont think that is something he would think about and he already feels no guilt about it so i think it was just the movie being stupid again. so if he does have hallucinations i think he would be indifferent to them, maybe only being annoyed they arent always at the same time every day.

LISTEN I’m genuinely having fun w landoscar and happen to also enjoy the real life dynamic they have and bottom line happy w whatever they actually are to each other since we literally don’t know how much any of these drivers actually like each other vs what’s just for fan enjoyment

where ppl have taken the fact that Oscar and Lando don’t play a joint hobby sport outside the track but all their friendliness we see is spontaneous and fond and Oscar is terrible at media and can’t fake anything and McLaren people saying how similar and in sync they are and Lando being more himself in media with Oscar than just his Fun Time Goofy Lando self and Lando’s best friend being Oscar’s friend before Oscar was even in F1 and them being so bad at PR fakery that even Netflix can’t drum up a drama around them and their ship name is barely even known outside fandom let alone being useful as PR - as them being “just PR/work friends”

and that even though he’s said none of the drivers that a journalist kept calling bromance count as his real private life close friends, the fact that Lando and several other drivers publicly post PR content of them doing activities together or riding the same jet and both of Lando’s other teammates publicly pushing their ship names and them being PR currency used across official accounts and sponsors and Netflix literally marketing the Netflix Cup around one of them - means those are “non PR real friendships outside of work”

and the one driver Lando actually consistently spends time with fully outside of the F1 season and shares friends with who aren’t in F1 but they almost never post content with each other for PR and are simply spotted together a lot - isn’t even counted among those Lando ships (Max V) bc fandom at large hasn’t decided they’re friends because… they don’t post enough about it on their main accs…

Hello!! Im really happy to hear that :)

I have LOOOTS of hcs for the both of them!! Ive been fixated on these two for four whole years i genuinely have too much to mention in one post lol so if you have any specific questions about specific hcs, do tell me!! Its a bit difficult to answer very broad questions like this bcs i dont know where to begin haha;;

I can very confidently say though, Illumi is absolutely nowhere near shy. At least-- not by the definition. In my eyes, Illumi is a very blunt and straightforward person with no social filter. I do like to think when it comes to hisoillu in general Illumi gets flustered here and there when dealing with his husband like any normal human in love is to be. But when it comes to being an actual shy introvert like hisoka-- absolutely not. You can tell the difference between how Illumi deals with people vs Hisoka. Hisoka is like the textbook definition of an introvert-- someone who constantly avoids people unless he wants to be the center of attention (mainly negative attention so it keeps people away anyways)

General hisoillu hcs would be... I like to humanize them. I like giving Illumi moles, stretch marks and arthritis from his transformation and eyebags from the amount of times he stays up for his missions. Also scars from his training that are faded. For hobbies I like to think hes extremely interested in learning. Just learning. Whatever hes learning doesnt matter, but knowledge is a very prominent fact about him and the zoldycks in general. So while I hc hes extensively knowledgable about anatomy and the economic and political states of the world (those pretty much canon tho lol) and the world in general, I like to always write him extending his knowledge in fics like learning a new language in his spare time or reading books in general. I could expand much more on hobbies including people watching and hanging out with his siblings but i feel like if there is a tumblr word limit i would 1000% exceed it lol.

I like to give Hisoka freckles on his tan skin (in the manga his skin is quite tan) that he hides and many more scars that are also hidden like he'd hide his arm scars after machi healed them. also the one time togashi drew him with hip dips. I liked that! I like to give him a human backstory like initially having a family that he either abandoned or was abandoned by to go on his own journey (not necessarily tragic, though i do not think tragic backstories take away from a character no matter how evil tbh. If anything, I strongly believe that babies are blank slates when it comes to morals until theyre taught otherwise by their environment.) And positive hobbies like cooking for himself because he only ever relies on himself and doesnt trust anybody else, which also goes with the hc of him not being a fan of taking any medication so hes a "tough it out" girlie. which also consequently affects other hcs like my trans hisoka hc and him not getting top surgery until after he married illumi because he does not trust a mf to put him under during it but he does trust illumi-- ITS A LOOONG STORY

I also like to consider their reoccurring personality traits as symptoms for neurodivergence. Like Illumi's bluntness and overly honest personality being autism and his highly emotional sides to him being BPD (i do have a thread on that!) and for Hisoka his hyperactivity and addiction for stimulating fights as ADHD (the adhd video i made abt him covers some of it lol) and you could argue a personality disorder for him as well to match with his hubby.

Also the queer hcs like i mentioned, transmasc genderfluid hisoka that doesnt mind all pronouns that i also hc as demiaroace and pansexual/bisexual while for Illumi I hc him as gay demiaroace agender, etc. These help a lot in figuring out their identities too.

Stuff like that are just the "layouts" for them in my brain that help me immensely when writing fics for them. You have to know everything extensively for the actions that they make to come naturally so when you throw them in a situation, you immediately know how they'd react (ex: sick hisoka would refuse to take meds, or more specifically like in my fic tolerate me darling hisoka was cramping and refused to take pain meds for it so illumi had to use his pins etc etc)

Those are pretty much the surface hcs i have for them that I always consider when it comes to any scenario or extra hc or fic/art or anything. For anything very specific, you'd have to ask about it for my brain to remember ehehe ^^

Like Crusher is basically a menace to society who needs JAIL TIME (ik hes my fav character but like yeah,atleast 5 years of jail),he sent THREE CHILDREN away with his cheats,made so many cheats that are quite dangerous for the racers,usually a jerk to Blaze and the gang and just only cares about certain people (Grammy,Gherkin and Pickle) also I just judge for his crimes against racers,Pickle and his sisters dont really look alike which PROBABLY means his mom just ummm does it um yeah uh if ykyk (and they are all probably fatherless) also Pickle was definitely a stoner and Blaze just seems so naive especially because of how many near death experiences he had because of Crusher but STILL decides to hang out with him,I just feel so bad for Blaze he just deserves better and also,I genuinely dont even see them as friends,I see them as frienemies,Crusher only cares when he gets rescued by Blaze (examples: Flying Robot Rescue,Ninja Blaze,Runaway Rocket),needs help (example: The Super Skateboard) or makes Blaze feel bad just to give him what he wants (examples: Ice Treasure,Snow day Showdown),also Blaze is such a cutie bro over these 2 years I genuinely started to slowly love him more and more and seeing Crusher do bulls_it to him and Aj just makes me feel bad for him bro :(((

Also I wish the show would do like more chemistry and interactions between characters,its kinda lame especially since it doesnt have the comedy that season 1-3 had :/ It seems like Crusher,Pickle and Blaze have the most chemistry and its kinda s_itty cause like what about the other characters???? Also i kinda wish they would stop repeating the same plot but my brain kinda doesnt care and loves it anyway :D

Typically he does it when they're still young, out of fear that someone talking about their "imaginary friend" will lead to complications

Of course you wont forget about him, infact I don't think he has the ability to erase peoples memories.. even if he did I dont think he would do it unless the situation is dire

Hes so so apologetic about neglecting you these past few weeks/months, he assures you that hes not going to go anywhere

In fact if you want him gone youre gonna have to tell him yourself; and he might even hover to the side to make sure you're doing fine

Tries to clear room in his schedule to hang out with you more, even offers to take you on overnight adventures with him if it's not too dangerous (assuming you still live in the third reality and with your family)

Hugs, lots of hugs! Itward gives the best hugs, I think... as long as you ignore hes cold and hes a skeleton..! Its the feeling he puts into it that matters!

Very hard to fix given he has to take his other kids into consideration

Obviously we dont know how many kids hes helping at once, but given he said hes "the one many children talk about" and the fact hes canonically labeled as a wanderer (safe to assume hes always. You know. Wandering and exploring), I would assume it would at least be a few but not a lot at any given time; afterall theres only one of him

Lessons from Adepticon

//An out-of-character musing about the weekend.

So while sitting the the airport waiting for our return flight, I had some time to muse on the course of the weekend.

It's been a lot of fun! We did have a good time; I really enjoyed meeting some online friends, dressing up, and playing games. It was also a learning experience, as every con is a little different and every venue has its quirks. It's very much a competition and playing convention, with an array of hobbying layered over it, so going without the intent to compete or play does curb a significant amount of the actual events.

It's definitely not a costume convention. There were probably about two dozen full on costumes for a convention with eight thousand visitors. Apparently in previous years there have been costume competitions, but its been awhile(last documented thing I could find was for 2018). In talking to the staff about it, there was some (semi-joking?) suggestion that I should volunteer to staff next year and run it myself. Then another veteran staffer said she'd look into running it. I got her email with the offer of supporting that venture. So maybe. lol.

We did also meet the staff for NOVA Opens costume contest with three encouragement to make the trip down. So we might have to add that to the list.

As one of only a handful of costumed persons(and maybe a touch of arrogance, definitely one of the best), I was WELL received for the most part. Lots of enthusiasm, lots of squeals, and lots of pictures. I will definitely do that again. We did have some costume mishaps (my Jedi&lotara boots will need total replacing)and I will probably do some upgrades/additions for the future.

It was also not a ribbon convention, so almost everyone I gave a ribbon to needed explanation for what it was/how it worked. But maybe with the power of repetition and exposure, we can change that lol. I did really enjoy handing them out because there was also an air of wonder and enthusiasm about it.

Hobby seminars! We really enjoyed our resin class and our freehand class. We also learned the hard way that there was a BIG difference between a "demo" hobby seminar and a "hands on" hobby seminar. I admittedly didn’t notice the difference(since they're both hobby seminars) until we discovered we'd paid 40$+ a head for what amounted to an in-person version of a youtube video. Not a mistake I will make twice. In the future I expect we'll only take classes for things we dont think we could somewhat easily learn via youtube or would otherwise not benefit from a teacher hanging over our shoulder for guidance. We'll also likely watch a youtube video or two of teachers ahead of time- some people, while very talented/experienced, are just not great teachers.

My brother will likely bring a mobile hobby painting set up next year, as there was some down time to paint. I’m not totally sold on the idea but we shall see lol. We did end up picking up a number of models and such, so I am glad we had some extra bag space.

All in all, an excellent experience. We will likely return next year, a little more prepared and ready to battle. :)
