you know, i was thinking back to this show again, i watched three seasons of it and that was all that i could tomach and you know what? no.

i dont accept it

i dont care, it was a bad show, it was an objectively bad show and i dont accept that everyone else decided that it was good, i dont care, it was a bad show and im going to tell you why.

emotional terrorism

maybe im a simpleton but i am someone who cares quite a lot about catharsis in my stories. this show refused to grant that, adamantly and violently. im not saying i need a happy ending, i am more than capable of enjoying bittersweet or even tragic stories, but i need a sense of completeness, some satisfaction, some release, some sense that things matter or meant something. this show insisted on refusing to give that. all this show was interested in was get an emotional reaction out of you. it was the emotional equivalent of a jump scare. it was convinced that if it made you feel bad enough people would confuse that with beeing powerful and deep. you could get the same reaction by walking up to someone on the street and kicking them in the nuts. and it would take about as much subtlety or artistry.

2. writer led rather than animator led

you could tell this was one of those shows that were made on the writer's room, not by storyboarders or artists, by "comedians". by people with english degrees. so many scenes of characters just standing around and talking. so many "jokes" that were clearly meant to be funny as something you read on a piece of paper or on a tweet and chuckle as you read it but as animation it just gave limp, stagnant scenes. so much dialog that were references and quips and puns and fast witticisms of the type you come up in the shower when thinking of clever comebacks.

there were so many fucking scenes where everything would stop and a character would launch on some stupid profound monologue about life and philosophy and psychology and relationships. it was like the writers were trying on for size paragraphs of their future memoirs or self help books. so much dialog that was begging for an award for writing. so many "mic drop" moments that were designed to be quoted. i find that the best writing is not the one that you can just quote out of context as a cool pithy phrase. a lot of the best writing ive seen in my life is meaningless when devoid of context, is inextricable of the scene and indeed of the entire story surrounding it but in here i can almost see the seams where the writers look at the camera waiting to see if you are impressed

3. inconsistent tone

this show wanted to eat its cake and then still have it. there are stories that manage to deftly weave in and out of comedic moments into serious moments. everything everywhere all at once does an amazing job jumping from the stupidest, most childish jokes into the most profound commentary about human nature, sometimes doing both at the same time and it worked, one didint cheapen the other.

in here though, it wanted to both have a completly absurd world with the stupidest characters ever and then somehow make us care for it all as if the show hadnt shot itself in the foot. it wanted us to see caroline being in love with what is clearly three children in a trenchcoat and then take her seriously as an adult, to treat any forther relationship drama she has as if it werent completly farcical.

4. ugly animation

it continued the blight that is take over adult animation by doing that disgusting repugnant paper puppet rigged interpolated quasi flash animation that only gives you stiff poses and movements and incredibly boring shots of characters standing in 3/4 perspective in front of the camera. it dull and flat and clunky and ugly, and the character designs were ugly. the noses were ugly and the mouths were ugly and the hairs were ugly and the eyes were ugly. it was all ugly. the backgrounds were fucking ugly and the colors were ugly and it was an ugly show to look at. unbearably so. and even the obligatory "weird" stylized scenes put in to shake things off and try to pretend that it was visually interesting (for like one scene per season) were also fucking ugly.

5. it had not interesting point to make

all it could do was insist and belavor and extemporize about how this one guy sucks and also most people kind of suck but specifically this one guy really sucks and he is not going to get better, or maybe he will? eh maybe, but not really, because he sucks. and we are going to make you like him because we are the writers and we are going to make him relatable and charismatic and sympathetic but actually no he sucks, you fell for it! and what does it say about you that you almost kind of liked him eh????. season after season of him, and in case you almost found anything redeemable about him, we are going to make him even worse, painfully unsubtly so, we are going to make him look at the camera and say that he sucks, because that is the level of nuance we think you can handle, dear viewer. this is called "self aware writing" and its postmodern and meta, which means its clever.

i fucking hate this show and the more i think about it the angrier it makes me, and what makes me more angriest of all is that people like it. its popular. it won awards i think. its largely recognized as a good show and its not! it sucks and its bad and if you like it you are stupid.

Alright. so can't ignore the elephant in the room. but what the actual fuck where these two latest pages? First of all the most down played and terrible explanation on why your quote on quote father is "damaged" like i'm sorry but ronja's daughters are gonna be young adults very soon at some point and she had't told them about ranach yet? like girl what were you waiting on. this entire convo was long overdue and kique rushed it so fast and swept it under the rug to get it over with, it's so poorly executed. fucking vandi, kargo and ferah could 100% vouch for her explanation on why he's so terrible. cause no rogio doesn't count, he enabled his actions and did stuff for him. he's just as bad and their relationship wasn't toxic unless proved. I just feel, now that we might have this anti child turning evil motive that doesn't really make sense? there's really no real reason for them to switch sides and betray their mother if that's a possibility other than to just appease ranach since he can manipulate thats about it. it'll just be for dramatic useless tension. anyways... so instead of ronja being a parent and not going after her own daughter to try and talk some sense into her as this is a vulnerable topic for both of them now. instead we get the worst and dumbest transition in the next page. its night time now and what does ronja do? well instead of again reaching out to her daughter. deer dog pops up into her tent and well they basically have sex. we are once given the cycle that sex cures everything and holy shit i don't know how she can be in the mood for that. like omg just talk about your problems for once without fucking each other. also idk what deer dog means by "tender soul" my dude you barely been around her kids, every-time you were on screen you were either by ronja or standing in the background. I doubt you know what her daughter is like and just exactly know how she'd react. but honestly if naeva sneaks off or goes searching for her father. gotta say it's ronja's fault at that point cause she didn't give a care enough about her own daughters safety and rather get bonded. also off topic kinda, but I keep seeing people claim that naeva as the "black pup" is it just me? I don't see her as black in color, unless my eye sight is really bad and I dont know it. but I honestly have been confused by it. I'd consider her dark toned comapared to her sisters. but not black color wise.

I have never been asked this b4! :-O Im drawing at the moment so it wouldnt hurt to explain how i do my refs for example heehoo

First i shallablamkdabdomdb I Think. I brainstorm. Im like. How does this character behave and act towards their everyday surroundings. 🤔🤨.... and then im like BAM I GOT YOU NOW!!!!! Sooo for the ram , for example- shes around 17 and is like ,, Shes very messy yet energetic ,, a god of war at her age makes her very energetic and outgoing since she has all this power (and well i guess it doesnt help she has adhd but-) so i was thinking about her pose as something rlly silly and dynamic

As i got used to drawing poses it was actually smth i learned from a couple of my moots- one of my moots got a similiar ask like this nd i took it with a big bag of rice and RAN ,,, Its all about me wanting to make dynamic poses- im not the best at fluid bests For Now but IM GETTING THERE ,

But yes sorry; thinking about my poses, sketch it twice, begin linearting- but after i finish lineart, i create different layers of coloring because my brain (ocd) tells me things and if i dont do This Thag Way I Will Be Killed On Spot With A Nuclear Ray From The Sky

I do lineart first, draw the face over on another layer, do hair color first, then body color under the hair color,, after im finished with that i then go HEEERRRM. NOW. Does it deserve a little razzle dazzling? A little speckle spackle? Do i want to render it? Do i want to change the lineart color to highlight the characters main color scheme? Yap yap yap my process isnt ALWAYS like this but its usually that way-

For allure though i can use a good example for this- when drawing allure—if i want to line their hair with the darker beige—i create two more layers and then draw over their hActually this doesnt make any sense I MEAN. WELL. I COULD PROBABLY JUST SHOW THE TIMELAPSE. Oh yeah I overuse the undo and redo button as well as using a FUCK ton of references from pinterest

But heres what my canvas looks like atm :-] if i want to make size comparisons i lower the opacity of the finished art and sketch over that with how tall or small the character is- aaliyah here is the shortest and smallest so to make sure i did her height and body size right i use the transform tool to slide her across the grid and go "is she smaller than i made her ??? Is she TALLER than i made her?? Did i manage to do her body weight correctly???" Etc etc

For something like this i actually kept th sketch BWAHAHA- i didnt really feel like tracing over it again (at least more or so properly-) so i shrugged, went Fuck It, then made my sketch the lineart layer. I put the flat color beneath it afterwards, put Alpha Lock on so i can shade, and bada bing Bada Boom ,, background comes after everything else (BAD HABIT) (COMPOSITION AND PERSPECTIVE R HEAVILY INFLUENCED BY WHERE MY CHARACTER STANDS-)

hi updating my comm info because my style's changed a lot, and with more commissions under my belt i know what people actually do and dont want to see me draw

that being said, rather than a variety of different style options, im lumping everything under 1 option, with the understanding that the price will vary greatly depending on complexity.

based on the examples below, the cheapest price would be $30 (4th image), and the most expensive would be $60 (5th and 6th images). generally anything you ask me to do won't be under $25, unless it's really simple and/or not colored.

Extra Notes: Her previous name was Hornet and her "warrior name" was going to be Hornetswipe but I decided to change it to Wasp bec I liked it! Her new name and title is Wasp'bite!

Character Summary: 

Wasp was born to Lily'mist alongside her brother Aphid, the litter's father is Shadow'whisker, though he doesn't act like it much. Lily was AroAce and never wanted a mate, but she did want kits, so she asked Shadow to be the donor of her litter and he accepted because he wanted to carry on his bloodline. The main interactions Shadow has with his kits are him looking at them judgmentally whenever they do something that doesn't live up to his expectations.

Despite how Wasp's father acts, Wasp desperately wanted his attention growing up. Shadow was a strong tom and was close to the great Spider'web! Shadow's judgment towards her and her brother left them with some extreme insecurities that manifested as anger and spite towards others.

This only got worse once Wasp and Aphid were made trainees and Lily'mist and her brother Sheep'puddle disappeared. Monarch Spider'web and her followers, including Shadow'whisker all claimed that Lily and Sheep had abandoned the Kinship and were cowards. Wasp, had extreme trust towards her elders and the leaders of the Kinship, she was and is completely bought into the Spider'web propaganda. The majority of the Kinship also bought this story, so she believed them because why would they lie? why would the kinship believe it if it want true? They were devastated by her mother "abandoning" her and along with this, the majority of the kinship were now extra judgmental to the kits of the Kinship traitors. This made her want to try even harder to be more like her father rather than their mother.

Wasp feels the judgement of the kinship, and they desperately want to prove herself, she wants to be a respected and great member of the Kinship, she wants approval from the more popular members of the kinship. Wasp feels they are being dragged down by being tied to her brother Aphid, Aphid is considered the weakest of the trainees, and the kits of the Warden, Bone and Ash are often cruel to the tom. Wasp is desperate for Bone and Ash's approval however and as a result is often just as cold and spiteful towards her bother in hopes of proving herself to not be like him. They have yet to win their favor, but this only makes her more desperate.

Basically she's placing blame on the wrong people and becoming a little teenaged monster because of her mommy and daddy issues heh...

Also... Really, deep down Wasp knows there is something off about the kinship, she knows that there is something off about the story told about her mother and uncle... but they refuse to even think about it, she cant bear to shatter her idea of the kinship... and they cant bear the thought of what actually could have happened to her mother.

Some of my closer mutuals might know a little here and there about my living situation at the moment. I don't like to go into very much detail about it for obvious reasons.

Keeping it simple, I live in an abusive household. My father has been a constant terror to live with since i was very young. He's only gotten worse as I have grown up.

I do not feel safe in this house. I'm counting the minutes down until something horrible happens.

I want to leave before it does happen.

*had to sit in a room all morning and just twiddle my thumbs so got some writing down. So here we are chapter 5 again im a baby writer none of this is profed i just write and post. Everyone be kind. My mind is slightly eased after speaking with Norm. While he didn’t promise anything he also didn’t flat out refuse us, even so miles has continued to fine tune his own escape plan for us just in case Jake refuses to help. Right now however the biggest hurdle in his plan is Spider. Making sure we can fully take care of him, which evolves a mask that couldn't be tracked and a reliable source of oxygen for him. But after looking into some of the tech the new rda developers have been messing with I found a new type of mask for spider. It was more portable and no longer required to be charged; it would create its own oxygen so I keep my eye out and wait to swipe one when the time comes.While we all continue to follow any leads on finding Jake none of us are truly hunting him just doing the bare minimum to look as though we are all still loyal. It's not till a week later that something big happens. Ardmore has one of her goons call on us to meet Ardmore on the bridge.

Miles pov

I walk into the bride wainfleet and z-dog behind me. Y/n wanted to come but i wanted to keep her as far away from the general as i possibly could.

We successfully made it to the clearing, ringing the com link non stop, when it was finally answered i could hear an odd sound in the background. It almost sounded like water or something, just reconfirming that whoever it is that answered was probably near the ocean

I hear jake get further away from the com probably pacing, As i hear muffled cuss words

“Jake she wants to send us after you, but we're stuck if we don't do what they want they will get rid of us. We need to work together and come up with some way to delay Ardmore and get us out, so we can help you.

“Well then tell me what we need to do to make it easy jake cause the rda isn't going to go away again without fully crippling what they’ve got going here. And no offenses but we’ve all been gone for 15 years the rda has stepped its game up. You’ll need our help”

Jake is silent again before letting out a long sigh. “I'll have to talk to some people, Dove. They’ll be the ones that will have to decide if we can do anything”

“Ok jake, we’ll continue to lay our part here but we're running out of time

“I can only imagine y/n but since he's still with you i'll send out a message to the clan to keep an eye out for him. “I understand that and I will not endanger these people I refuse. We will set them up somewhere outside of the village until they are accepted and then we can go from there. Does that sound alright?

It takes until the end of the week to set up a meeting, being in constant interaction with jake we learn that we need to first meet with the clans leader tonowari since they are the ones that must teach, home and aid us

We take the ikran out and stop in our clearing to dump everything with a semblance of a tracker and leave it there. Spider rides with me today instead of miles. I like holding him close, it makes me breathe easier and Miles wants to make sure we're protected. We told the general we would take a quick trip to gather some more supplies for us since we found the food of pandora worked better for our growing Navi bodies than human food did. It takes a couple hours to get away from the base and towards the designated meeting spot it's an area just breaking into the ocean filled with overgrown roots of trees and moss. We land in a forested jungle esc area. A small stream and pond stints on a cliff face if you follow the stream and go further out into the trees you’ll come across the ocean. It’s truly beautiful though. Spider and I were so excited honestly to see the ocean and its beautiful turquoise blue water. I wish there was a beach to plan on and not just tree roots but hopefully spider will have the opportunity to have an actual beach day sometime in the future, all the ikrans are chirping with glee as we let them rest and drink some water. Everyone else though, were very rigged, ears pinned back and twitching at every sound. Hands twitching towards their weapons but making an effort not to grab them, tails swishing steadily back and forth. All on high alert, because even though we're here to make allies, training can not be easily forgotten.

“Ok darlin you ready” miles asks coming over to me and spider. I try and put a brave face on but my insides are twisted. Im affraid. If this doesn’t go well then well be essentially on the run from the rda and well be all by ourselves. I mean i have faith in my team but we can’t do it all alone and… i brought out of my thoughts by miles pulling me into his chest whispering to breath in my ear.

A few deep breaths and i shake my head he loosens his hold and looks at me

“Are you ready my love”

“Miles you I both know it's bigger than that. “ Hes silent

“COLONEL”. Lyle yells out getting all of our attention. He's looking at the sky. Seeing a group of other ikran flying towards us. Everyone gets in formation, grouping into a somewhat defensive stance but still trying to look open since they all know what's at stake here.

Six people land and depart. Three of them are darker blue like us but there are two others. They look different from the Navi I'm used to, they're a lighter more turquoise blue, they have bigger arms and tails. They also wear shells and netting rather than the braided garments of the forest people.

As they get closer the dark blue male leads, his dreaded hair hangs behind him as he walks with purpose towards us.

Jake?” I ask the male as he comes to a stop a quarter of the way from us.

“Jake, neytiri i hear spider shout out as he goes bounding over to the group.

“Spider!” i hear miles call out to the teen who stops before completely running over to them

“It’s ok,” Jake calls out. Gesturing a hello to Spider. The atmosphere is definetly tense on all sides so i decide to try and break it

Jake smiles and neytiri finally comes out from behind him, no longer able to contain her happiness at seeing the person she used to know in a body gifted by eywa. I meet her half way between the two groups as she holds me at arm's length, looking me up and down. Before gently smiling.

“I see you neytiri” She smiles and hugs me, I feel miles and the other scoot up slightly, miles in spider coming up behind me as Jake and Norm follow behind neytiri

For the next hour we dish out a plan, our team would follow our orders and start searching the islands and the villages, once we get to the preordained village, the ocean clans would unite and apprehend the sky people that have been scouring the ocean nearby. They would capture all of us and fake kill/capture us in their attempts to rescue the toruk makto adopted human son. Hopefully there would be no casualties but the human soldiers that Ardmore sends to monitor us will probably put up a fight. Hopefully we can talk them into staying on the boat. Either way it was surprising how well all the boys got along. Working well to hash out this plan to where everyone was taken care off. It brought a smile to my face till i saw neytiri side eyeing miles, she was till stiff as a board so i decided to try and talk to her.

“Hey tiri can i speak with you for a moment?”.. she agrees and walks over with me to sit on some tree roots near by

“How are you Tiri?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean your stiff as a board and i know your not exactly thrilled with Miles”

“That de… Quartich has done much to me and my family, and i hold much anger toward him, but eywa has spoken and i am trying to listen to her.

“That doesn’t mean you can’t be angry with him, neytiri. You know i don't think I ever got to apologize to you.

“For what?”

“For everything for not doing more to stop the attack on hometree, even though I didn’t know they were doing that. Or for stopping miles and the other from joining the war for everything the humans have done to you I apologize.”

Tiri hugs me, both us having tears in our eyes

“I do not blame you y/n for i must also apologize, for taking your mate away from you”

“No tiri neither of us blame you in fact we don't even really remember it. What matters now is that we're here together in these bodies and are able to do better this time”

“I must also thank you and Jake for what you’ve done with Spider. You out of everyone had every right to never even acknowledge Spider but he tells me he's close with all your kids and that you helped him so much growing up.

“Yes i must admit at first i was apprehensive but as he learned more about pandora the more i saw you in him, i knew you would want him to live a life not in a lab”

“You are correct. I wanted him to be able to experience the things around him so again from mother to mother I thank you neytiri.”

Miles pov

“Ok that should be good for now, it’s getting late and your team will need to start heading back Quartich.” Jake says quickly motioning to how dark the sky has started to get the sun beginning to set in the sky

“Agreed, ok y’all pack it up.” I yell to my team all swiftly moving into action

“Sully i would like a word, privately” i say looking over at spellman as he quickly lifted his head from talking to Tonowari as soon as he heard me speak

“Fine, I have something to say to you as well”

Jakes pov

Quartich and i walk over away from everyone else

“Ok sully get this out of the way yeah”. Quartich says bracing himself like i'm going to slug him in the face. Part of me wants to but the more mature part has realized I had wronged this man as much as he had me.

“Yeah, I'm sorry……. I've had a lot to think about colonel, and ive realized, you guys took me in when i got to pandora, despite my disability you all treated me like a normal soldier. I immediately made you the enemy when in reality it was the rda that where the enemy we were all just caught in their net, just like now. “I forgot when i was human that i made a promise to myself that they would come before everything else. I wanted a good home for my family and thought the only way to get it was to follow orders.

Brief background introduction:

Ichiinama was born into the Hanakitsune family, she is smart - Despite the lack of resources, she's managed to impress her parents with her brains, her parents call her and her sister beautiful, however, Ichiinama was never one to express her ideas and inputs, some say she was a hermit. Always stuck with books instead of people, envious of her sister being a social butterfly, she was desperate to have friends but not many wanted to discuss the otherwise "nerdy" topics. Brief background introduction:

Jurei was born into the Hanakitsune family, she isn't as smart as her younger sister - She was still an incredibly smart person. At a time at night, she heard a noise, seeing her and her sister's parents being murdered by a demon, she quietly carried her sister, Ichiinama, who was awake, who also was only 10 at the time, out a window and left their home, not after lighting it on fire to assure the demon will die for what it did. Jurei ran away from the wreckage for a few hours, exhausted carrying her sister, she came across Gyomei Himejima, Jurei pleaded with Gyomei to take her sister and just ditch her, Gyomei, sensing the selflessness of Jurei, did not abandon her, he took Jurei and Ichiinama with him. Jurei trained hard to get where she is today - 21 and the Smoke Hashira(けむりばしら Kemuri Bashira) and she is thriving well, she is good friends with Mitsuri Kanroji and enjoys accompanying her.

Uniform description

Jurei wears the standard corps uniform - Under the watchful eye of other Kakushi, Jurei received the uniform that was tailored by another Kakushi NOT Masao Maeda. Yes, Jurei wears a skirt, however, the skirt reaches until her calves. Jurei wears a Haori with smoke patterns on it, based on japanese Ukiyo-e. She also wears Kyahan with smoke prints and wears dark gray tabi socks and wore a dark purple zōri with peach pink straps.

General appearance

Jurei wears the standard corps uniform tinted in dark purple. Has black hair with silver streaks that were natural. Her left eye is red and her right eye is silver, she has X-shaped pupils. She looks almost identical to her younger sister aside from a few features. Her hair is tied into low twin drills.

"I'm sharing this across as many platforms as I can as I'm faced with a horrible situation and desperately need help. In short I'm losing my home and need a down-payment for a new place. The renters market right now is insane. (Like 5000 sometimes 7000 dollars a month for RENT) I've managed to find a place but he refuses to go lower than 3000 down but the rent is doable with my income. But I have been on medical leave since early February due to seizure like activity while I was working. I still have my job and should be returning in April from medical leave. it's safe to say, you were definitely surprised when you came home one day to austin curled up on the couch, plushie in his arms, thumb in between his lips as a cartoon played in the background while he was asleep

you'd never seen austin so embarrassed when he saw you standing there, his face a deep shade of red.

of course, you assured him that it was okay and that you loved him no matter what. he was overjoyed when you asked about taking care of him, happily bouncing up and down and showing you the plushies he kept in the closet away from you, introducing them one by one. he was just so excited to finally have someone take care of him.

he's such a polite boy, always so full of joy and getting excited over the smallest things. says "thank you, momma!" every.single.time. he never forgets.

he does have a bad habit of sticking his fingers in his mouth though, sometimes he doesn't realize he's doing it, sometimes he does and just wants you to notice so you'll go upstairs and get him his paci.

although he always slips when he gets overwhelmed with his work or when he comes home after a stressful day of press, he sometimes slips when you just let him lay in your lap as you play with his hair. or when he sees a plushie he absolutely needs. or when you playfully call him a good boy over and over again. he's good at fighting it though, as he's been doing it for a long time in an attempt to hide it from you. although, now that he can freely do it in front of you, it's been getting harder for him to fight it sometimes.

he loves, loves, loves playing. whether it be a board game with you, him playfully smashing buttons on a baby guitar or keyboard, or even with his little play kitchen. he's always smiling and enjoying himself. when you two play games to together, he scrunches his nose when hes deep in thought or too focused in his decision. he sometimes scrunches his nose at you when he thinks he made a good move, which he doesn't most of the time but you always let him win anyway

whenever he's coloring something really tricky, he has his tongue poking out when he's focused. sometimes he scrunches his nose when he messes up, but that's okay! it just makes his picture more unique!

although he loves to cook for you and occasionally bake, he loves to help you in the kitchen when he's little. especially when you're baking. "momma, can i lick the spoon, please?" he asks you, giving you little puppy dog eyes with his those pretty, blue eyes you love so much. obviously you let him, who can resist that face?

although he definitely has every single elvis build a bear just because...duh.

the deeper he is into his headspace, the more quiet and shy he gets. but when he's comfortable, he's very chatty.

definitely a little clumsy. after spilling 5 cups of apple juice over a short period of time, you finally broke down and bought him a few sippy cups. now, he refuses to walk around the house without it filled. he loves juice and refuses to drink anything else.

this boy loves his fruit snacks.

he loves those baby sensory videos where it has the little fun music with the fruits dancing in the background. you don't mind him watching cartoons, but sometimes you need something to keep him focused while you clean up around the house.

he loves laying outside with you just looking at the stars and the moon at night, you even put little glow in the dark star stickers up on the ceiling in your bedroom just for him.

because he's a good boy, he never argues when it's naptime or time for bed. at least most of the time.
