there are 600 people/blogs following me here right now! which gives me conflicting feelings because... on one hand, yay, that's a lot of people... on the other hand, I only get asks and likes from like five of you max... and none of my han/leia fics has even 200 kudos on ao3, let alone 600, even though I've been writing han/leia fic for the past seven years... so my question is ???
#authors want you to interact with us fyi!!#but if it's not fear or shyness then i don't know#i don't think that many people can be bots because i report them#and that's a lot to be deactivated blogs although some might be#*sigh*#if i were writing for the numbers i'd have quit a long time ago lol#sorry i didn't mean to whine; it's just kind of baffling to me#the math isn't mathing

To be so clear I am also regularly in denial about how much pain i'm just in
even with meds, even with rest, even if I haven't done anything in a week, even if i did only good things the day before, even if the exercise was necessary
buuuuut the meds do take the edge off (still in pain but less which is a net good) and i can always tell when they've worn out (naproxen SAYS it's good for 8-12 hours and I get Maybe 7.5 on a good day). I'm attempting to change to preemptive pain relief from chasing pain constantly and it's hard. But we're getting better.
speaking of which. Naproxen time.
i think i'm like. really in denial sometimes about how much pain i'm just Casually In...
OH NO WAIT HANG ON WAIT ACTUALLY MY MEDICINE WORE OFF AND I DID LIKE A LOT OF UNANTICIPATED ACTIVITY NEVER MIND I'M DUMB I'M HURTING FOR ACTUAL REASONS THIS TIME
#i've narrowed down the Major Problem Area to the hip/pelvis/lower back region (primarily the Bones That Are Considered The Hips)#(rather than the hip joints themselves necessarily though to be so real it's definitely also part of the problem)#because the real problem is the fact that i was built Ford Tough and uh. boy howdy do i feel like i need a Fix Or Repair Daily#this is jokes i do not actually have a lot of Real Opinions on non-tesla car types#anyway#this post brought to you by a reply i got from a bot that i nearly succumbed to by going#''hey bud you sound like you're either a bot or new to the internet''#with the intention of adding in a nice little courtesy and social etiquette lesson for internet interactions and why we don't just demand#that folks message us when we've never spoken before and we don't just friend request out of the blue and such like that#(many such cases)#and i realized i could just instead block them#so i did :)#i block only because my grasp on the way people can choose to present themselves online is Incredibly Autistic#and i'd feel bad reporting someone as a bot if it turned out they're just not aware of the same internet location customs as i am#specifically/especially on tumblr where lots of internet space refugees end up#and they may just not know the customs here and that's fair!#the internet has changed a lot since i was a kid and that happens#i might be the one out of touch on this thursday and again the autism is 100% a factor in the way i think#but like we have Ways Of Doing Things In Places in order to make existing in those places not just easier but also more fun for everyone#and it like...it really bothers me when people don't play along with it#i get it a lot of the social rules don't actually do anything anymore#but there's so many more that DO still have a purpose#and we as a society seem to be eschewing all of it because some of it is Dated and not accurate for our current timeline#when what we *could* have been doing instead is coming up with an updated version of the mores and norms so that interaction stays smooth#like. utilizing basic polite language and phrasing is important it's a tough script to learn but it's so fucking important#because it's a shared language we can use to interact together#maybe we're both non-native speakers and we would interact better in our shared native tongue#and we can find that out as we know each other in the safe place of distance and social mores that keep us at a comfortable level#until we can know we even feel like sharing that actually the scripts and such take a lot of time#and i know i'm speaking from a place of privilege and like

Tumblr (for newbies):
Reblogging ≠ reposting. You aren't stealing content by reblogging it, it's basically a 'group share' button. It also helps give artists/posts attention and you can reblog to interact with people. Reblog things you like.
Reblog bait. You can reblog it, but if a mutual hates reblog bait, you may tag it with 'reblog bait'. Or, find a tag with your mutual to put on posts they don't like, and block the tag under the 'content you see' tab in settings.
If someone reblogs your post, and you like their reblog, you just liked your own post.
(Sideblog section)
See my name? This is a gimmick. If a Tumblr says 'officially-(company/country/state)' then it's probably a gimmick! Check their content first because there are a few actual brand blogs, like Grammarly!
You can only make 250 posts (per email) on an account per day. This is called 'post limit' or 'PL'. I am currently on account 2, because I post too much. You may or may not hit post limit in your lifetime.
You can create as many sideblogs as you want, but you cannot like, follow, or send asks as a sideblog, and if you do so, it'll show up as from your main.
(Gimmicks)
Nobody can see your main from your sideblog, so you can have as many followers on your gimmick and none of them on your main
You will see gimmicks. A lot. It's fun.
You can interact with a gimmick as a non-gimmick
As a tumblr user, you have anon powers. You can turn any/most gimmicks into a pretty princess by typing something like '*turns you into a pretty princess*' into their ask box.
Nobody will be mad at you for making a gimmick. At all. There are like, 4 Jesus gimmicks. And it's great.
(General)
Tag a mutuals post with '10k to me', 'future 10k', '10k', or 'this will have 10k' for some fun chaos :3
Submit posts to PM Seymour's discord for MORE fun chaos
(General controls and understanding of Tumblr)
If you are in a youtube video online, you have broken containment
If you are getting a bunch of notifications from a post, you can hold down a notification from it or click the three dots on the post and click 'mute' to stop getting notifications (other than mentions)
You can also filter your notifications by clicking on the top left of your notifications tab and tapping 'custom'
The 'for you' tab of Tumblr is what the algorithm thinks you'll like based on your interests and stuff
The 'following' tab is blogs and tags you follow
On Tumblr, you can add not only extra notes in the tags but also regular tags. Spaces are allowed
If you get an ask from a Palestinian blogger, check yourself (you may find places where it's vetted/verified in their reblogs. You can also tell by them having no photos/story at all [no name, no information, just a donate link], and scams commonly use photos from Google images. Be suspicious if there's anything other than GoFundMe or something similar. PayPal is banned there.) or send a screenshot to me/somebody who offered to help. Then, you can answer the ask so people who can donate can see it, or donate yourself. DO. NOT. PRESSURE. YOURSELF.
Tumblr has a unique punctuation, in a way. which you will figure out on your own. An example is. periods to show a slight. pause
It reminds me of poetry
You can post whatever you want and you will find your people
Block people who make you uncomfortable and report bots for spam.
Welcome to Tumblr
Do what you want forever
#ask for more detail about a point if needed#or wanted#im summarizing here#and other questions#have fun tumblring!!

Welcome twt immigrants or just newcomers o///
Every week a new wave of twt refugees arrive and so I decided to put together a tumblr 101 to keep ur experience the most stress free and safe as possible
So here it goes:
You can delete comments or plain out disable comments from your posts! So much control.
You can also edit your posts. It even was a meme back on the olden days where a post would go viral and then the op (original poster) would change the post to something silly and the reblogers would look like wierdos or dumdums lol
You can disable your asks or make a rule so people can't ask as anonymous
Report spams!! You can even get rewarded for it. But, even so, report it, they get immediately taken down temporarily
The report system work and the tumblr team is very responsible when investigating an account/post. It's not nuance and easy to make. No one will judge you for it, in fact, it's common culture to do so. It's how we battle pornbots, spams, hate blogs etc.
You have full control of your blog! What people can see, what it can show, block hashtags and the whole shbang.
The algorithm works! Only the things that YOU search for and like will be recommended to you. And if something u no longer has interest in shows up? Just click that u don't want anymore and immediately everything u don't want goes away.
There are many famous blogs that are fun to follow, specifically as newcomer, to really get u on the tumblr experience such as: heritageposts, thebootydiaries, hotboyproblems, showerthoughtsofficial, fartgallery, haikubotofficial and many others. These are just the ones I followed when first arrived back in 2016;
Yes, there are celebrities among us but they're just... here. Vibing, chilling. The most famous ones being Neil Gaiman and Taylor Swift. Here they are just people;
You might have noticed a lot of blogs with blue verification badges. Some with 20 of them. Some are rainbow! That's because Tumblr made a parody of the verification mark from twt and it was fcking hilarius. We loved it so much that it's a thing now. U too can feel very important if u want!
It's worth going the trending tags. Sometimes they are broken, but it's mostly memes or important world news stuff that are actually relevant and helpful. It's safe and you'll have a fun time lurking on other people's fandoms. That's actually how I got into some of my fandoms to begin with;
Crabs.
And there we have it! I might have forgotten something, but I not too worried as I know that people might add it later on. 😉
Welcome welcome!! You'll be safe here. No matter who you are you find a community for you here
It's a hellsite, but it's our hellsite
Remembered something:
It's important to have a profile picture and header image. An reblog a few things before following anyone. Or you will be reported because people will think you're a spam bot kkkkkkkkk so do nurture your blog a little bit before venturing into the unknown.
#tumblr#twt#twitter#twitter refugees#welcome#I'm manly doing it because of the troubles qsmp community have been facing on the last few... months honestly#so just u guys know a little bit better how it all works#qsmp#fandom#also fun fact#tumblr is known as the ultimate hellsite because of the mechanics as they are very hard to learn how to get used to#and sometimes the site break kkkkk#or just#yeah#it's a meme now honestly#it's not a hellsite because of the people or something like that#sure like any communal place there will be buffoons#but they usually bother for a few weeks and them give up since it's such a work get visibility to your blog if you're being an asshole#oh yeah it's very common to use the tags to just ramble#just let out your thoughts#jesus christ so many typos

hello this is my first Tumblr and I am quite confusef Hel me!
Hello!
Tumblr in my experience is different from a lot of other social media platforms as there is no real goal or purpose or competition in posting. You can pretty much just say or do or add whatever and if people like your vibes the follow you, and if they don't, they don't.
If you like certain topics or Fandoms (groups of people who enjoy a particular show, book, media, etc.) you can search for it and click "follow" on blogs dedicated to those things.
Whenever they post something, you can see it on your dashboard (your "feed" or "homepage") and decide to comment (add pictures or words) reply (say something without sharing the post with your followers) or reblog (share with your followers, so that anyone following you can see the post, with or without adding your own commentary.)
Beyond technical stuff, there are some cultural things you may want to know about.
If something you reblog has potentially upsetting content- violence, traumatic topics, nudity- its considered an act of courtesy to "tag" it. This is so your followers who specifically do not want to see those topics can use filters to make those posts invisible. This is handy for people with phobias, PTSD, or photosensitive epilepsy, but also for people who just don't like those things.
There are a lot of memes that will not make sense. That is because posts don't vanish when they get old, so anything that becomes a "meme" often gets referenced over and over again for years, sometimes actual decades. Posts like "do you like the color of the sky?", "Horse Plinko", "loss.jpeg", etc. are examples of this.
There is no algorithm that decides what you might like and shows you those things. You are in control of your own experience. If you see a lot of posts from people you don't like about things you don't want to see, you can block them and never see them again. They won't see you, either. It's like making friends- you can choose to follow whoever makes you happy and avoid whoever doesn't.
There is a bot problem. Bots are automated spam designed to look like other users. This is often "cute single women" type stuff, but can also be anonymous or generic fake blogs that send out a thousand identical messages that accuse you or others of wrongdoing, or just send out basic insults. They will never see your reply. They only exist to cause chaos. You can report and block them and are encouraged to do so.
There is a difference between "liking" and "reblogging". If you "like" something, it is added to an invisible list so you can go back and find it later. If you "reblog" something, your followers can see it too. Artists prefer reblogs over likes, because they put a lot of work into their art (or writing) and the only way they can reach a large audience is if lots of people share it. Artists who are trying to get commissions or develop a career depend on reblogs to continue making art.
Sometimes an update or change happens that alters the website without any warning and everyone whines about it and adapts. This happens every few months. It's kind of dumb and sometimes makes it worse but if you Google "tumblr 2012" you will see that it's actually been a slow march of improvement.
Something weird will happen on April fool's day. Sometimes this will affect the website layout.
You will not get many followers unless you engage with other users. This is a cafeteria and if you wanna eat alone you can.
If any of your posts go viral you will see it forever until you die and if it's about Beans you will live out the rest of your days getting messages like "Are you Bean Guy" so tread lightly
You will need to choose an icon and change the appearance of your blog or people will think you are a bot. (Side effect of the bot problem.)
I have no idea if you are a bot or spam message this reply is an act of faith
Good luck!

Hello everybody! I've seen some people saying they don't know how to edit their page, and as a result a lot of blogs that are blank are being blocked & reported as bot pages, or labeled as adult pages (because people are reporting them incorrectly. Actual spam/bot pages should be reported as spam, not adult content, even though some of them contain adult content). After so many reports, I think that a blog will automatically be labeled as such and the user has to contact Tumblr support to change it back.
I've taken some screenshots on my own page with some notes/edits, posted above, to help anyone who wants a quick tutorial on personalizing your page. When you make the edits to your page, remember to click on the blue save button in the top left editing area.
It's quite easy, you go to your main blog page and click on the painting palette symbol. The next thing that comes up is a page with an editing area, I've added notes to the sections that should be edited, the header is a good idea to edit also, but it is mainly ✨your description and avatar,✨ as both helps others separate your account from bot accounts that also have an avatar (often blank, or images of women models) and something in the description (sometimes this is empty, sometimes it is"their name" sometimes a ton of emojis, it varies). Some bot accounts even have the word "sim" in their handle, so the community can't totally rely on a username for indication with that word in it, either (unless it specifically says "simblr" or "ts4" in the handle).
Anyway, the influx of bots has caused some annoying problems for us all here, I made another post about that here, with links to more information. The best way to avoid these issues is to make sure your blog is personalized.
Here is a tag on my page for some free icons if you'd like to grab something cute & quick, or if there is something specific you would like, I'm more than happy to make one for you, so just send me a DM or Ask 💗
If I have blocked your blog by mistake, you can send an Ask to my CC finds sideblog linked at the top of my page, and I am also available on Ko-Fi and Instagram where you can send me a message, I will be glad to fix it right away.
And if you've got a blog that you are painstakingly sifting through your new follows due to all the blank ones, feel free to reblog for your followers 💗

Let's talk about bots
Every time I see someone talking about tumblr's bot situation being "worse than ever" I think about that poll I ran in early 2023 where I learned that people considered it impossible to deal with <10 bot follows per day. In a more recent poll, I saw people asserting that one bot ask per week was too many, and I've come across a handful of posts where people talking about seeing up to a half dozen bot posts in an extremely popular tag over the course of a week as something untenable.
I feel like I should offer some...perspective? On how much tumblr's bot situation has improved? Because it has improved.
At the peak of the 2023 bot rush, I got over 100 bot follows in a single hour. Just last month I was getting 2-5 bot asks per day on my main blog alone. I have reported several dozen spam bots posting to the tags I track in the last couple weeks.
As of now, I get very few bot follows—so few, in fact, that I could not tell you when the last one happened. I receive maybe three bot asks per week, across all 22 of my blogs. I see almost no bot activity in my tracked tags. I know I'm just one user on a large platform, but I have been in the trenches with this nonsense, and I've seen dramatic improvements over time.
Here's how to help Staff get or maintain control of the bot situation:
1. Don't report posts/asks—report ACCOUNTS.
2. Don't report as 18+ content—report as SPAM.
If you report a post, it may get the post taken down, but it won't get the account removed. If enough asks are reported, it may lead to an investigation of the account, but from what I know of webdev and how thin Staff is stretched, the bar there is going to be much, much higher than if an account is reported.
If you report a post or account for unmarked 18+ content, all this will do is get them flagged as an 18+ blog, leading their icon to be blurred and causing a banner to appear over the blog when you visit to make sure you're comfortable seeing adult content, or apply a community label to the post. It will not get the account removed. Adult content is allowed on tumblr (to a point), but that's not the issue here—the issue is that's it spam, which is not allowed on tumblr.
We can expect an uptick in bot activity as the so-called Holiday Season gets into full swing, because these bots are generally gunning for traffic, and that picks up this time of year. If you report them for the right things and in the right ways, it will be much easier for Staff to keep it under control.

Thanks so much to the people who've already helped spread the word, it's making a big difference already.
The exact amount of the junk pledge is $2,015.
To overcome it's malicious impact, we need to hit an "actual" amount of $15,515 (instead of our real goal of $13,500) - as in, we need to raise enough over our actual goal to cover the money that'll disappear when this fake pledge is removed.
Someone also suggested in the tags that we report it - we absolutely did. :) Here's what I wrote to KS:
"My campaign has 50 hours left and I just got a huge spam pledge for $2,000. This is absolutely insane, and I'm furious. How can you guys let this happen? When this pledge becomes nothing but air, my campaign either won't fund at the last minute because people who WOULD have backed to help get us over the line will think we're already funded, or it won't get cancelled til after the end and then the money won't exist and we won't actually be able to afford to do our project. I'm absolutely livid. I knew y'all were having problems with spam pledges but jesus f-in christ KS you need to resolve this absolutely immediately or figure out a way to make it up to loyal users like us. It impacts KS too, since if we crash and burn at the last minute because of this spam pledge, y'all can't collect your fees. This pledge and it's timing entirely screws up my ability to get last-minute pledges, and even having it there for a few hours will have a substantial negative impact on my ability to run this campaign.
"If this can't be resolved immediately, please PLEASE extend our campaign a day, anything to make up for the damage that this will do to my ability to get my project funded.
"This is the kind of problem that, if KS can't get it under control, I don't know how I'll be able to continue using the platform. Another person I know has had over $10k of spam pledges on his campaign in the last few weeks, and was initially told one of the pledges WASN'T spam and it took over a day to actually resolve. Can you think what it taking over a day will do to my project?
"Sorry, I'm ranty, but I'm livid, and the useless chat bot, my inability to get a human in chat when I've got an urgent problem, the utter lack of FAQ support for what to do when I get a spam pledge like this, and the irrelevant categories on this form I'm filling out now, plus the dozens of uncontrolled spam messages I've gotten about my project across four different platforms, have all combined to make me feel like KS either doesn't care about the spam issue or has zero ability to control it, and honestly neither of these conclusions is heartening when they relate to a company that has taken thousands of dollars in fees from me over the last few years."
I. Might have been a little angry, lmao.
However, their support staff doesn't even get to the office until 9:00 AM Eastern time (one hour from when I'm posting this), and then they'll have however many other e-mails to get through before mine. Our 48-hour window starts at 9:37 am. The odds that the junk pledge will be gone by then are EXTREMELY low. The person I mentioned in that message, it took over a day to get rid of a junk pledge and KS initially told them it WASN'T a junk pledge, so ya know that was awesome for them. I'd been feeling pretty lucky that it hadn't happened to me yet - this happened to them about three weeks ago - but well. guess my luck had run out.
Anyway, if anyone has other questions or comments, I'll see them in tags or you can drop us an ask. The outpouring has already been incredible, folks have pledged (or increased their existing pledges) to a tune of $303 since I put up the post an hour and a half ago, which means we're only about a thousand shy. I was teary-eyed before because I was upset about the junk-pledge, and now I'm teary-eyed instead being grateful about how awesome people are.
Thanks, everyone.
We'll overcome this dipshit scammy bullcrap!

Hello Reddit transfers! Here's some scam spotting tips
Hi! I'm Key (Or Jess), and I'm here to give you some tips to spotting scams. Think of my blog as a subreddit but with several posts a day that often show a scam post or give scam information. All this info is done as a hobby so I'll give you a rundown on the basics of how pet donation scams work here. If you like my hard work, feel free to throw me pocket change or check out my Ko-Fi where I take art commissions. Or just say thanks!
If you share a popular/trending text post, you may get an ask from a blog who wants you to share their pinned pet post. They'll ask you to answer the ask privately but urge you their pet is very ill and needs aid quickly. Commonly, this pet is a cat. But on occasion it's a dog. The ask will tell you their not a bot/etc and are just a person, promise!
If you check the blog, turn timestamps on under dashboard settings. By doing so, you'll get to see the date their pinned post was made. Usually, these posts are only a few hours old or even a few days old so always take caution if you see it's a post that isn't very old. This isn't always a red flag for a scam post, but it's advised to pay attention since you'll see these kind of things often enough since the scammer barely changes up their pattern.
Scrolling the account should also show you how many posts the blog has made. Often, you'll only find roughly 100 posts that are always made within minutes of the other. These posts come from a trending tag of the day generally and are rarely tagged since their just shared all at once and then nothing else. You will usually also see the archive has been turned off since the blog is set to only dashboard view and only accessible to logged in users. This measure isn't always a sign of a scammer, as users can have real reasons for this! But it's a common tactic for scam accounts.
The post tells you the cat/dog is suffering from some medical condition and claims the op will get paid in a few weeks but they need the money before then and they promise they'll pay you back when they reach their goal. Not all users who make posts like that are scam accounts and many of them are real people who will return the help once they can. The op will also tell you to send money by friends and family because they need it quickly and don't want it held up. Usually they'll have a link that will tell you to send them funds there.
However, you may notice some things are off in the post itself. While the op asks for USD, their pay link says their in the Philippines which is not USD and would require conversion rates to apply. Not all PH-based bloggers are scammers and some are disappointed that some people are. Its sadly a well known thing here that this scammer is from there but no one knows who they really are as every name used is stolen off a private aid group. Another thing to do is check the notes and see how many reblogs are directly from the op. Usually you'll find several.
If you want to, it is suggested to ask the op if they can provide you proof they own the cat/dog if your unsure of the legitimacy of their claim. For example, ask them to write their url on a piece of paper and take a picture of it on top of the pet they supposedly own or even post a short video of them calling the pet and holding the paper in sight. Usually this results in the op likely blocking you.
It's suggested to warn anyone sharing these scam posts and reporting scam accounts under Phishing as it's usually the fastest way to deal with them on a daily basis. This scammer has been doing this for years and even brags about how they get away with it since they make hundreds of dollars doing it and ruin the reputation of the names they steal.
These scammers are also stealing content from private facebook groups and reposting them here without the owner being aware of it. The scam accounts are saving pictures and passing them off as their pet. Watermark your vet bill and pet pics in your aid posts if you want to deter scammers from stealing it for future uses. If you are in a fb group that posts vet bill help, please inform them a scammer is going around taking their posts and reusing it for fraudulent reasons. I have seen cases where some scammers even used pictures off Reddit to use for scams.

Glamrock Monty (FNAF) x Reader Part 3
Notes:
AU Fanfic/NonCanon
Takes place after the fire
Animatronics are redesigned sorta
Sun/Moon are the same animatronic
Will probably be some spicy parts so...18+
No use of y/n, your name is Beanie now
Will probably be multiple relationships (I love Monty and Sun/Moon both way too much plz don't make me choose)
You made your way towards Gator Golf from the Daycare. It was on your way to Rockstar Row so you figured you’d at least swing in there first to see if Monty was hanging around in his favorite area. The animatronics weren’t confined to their green rooms like they used to be. You made it very clear that they were free to go and do as they chose. They were, unfortunately, still confined to the Plex as a whole but that was something you weren't sure the world was entirely prepared for right now.
Heading into the main Gator Golf doors surrounded by cardboard cutouts of the band and random ‘on theme’ foliage, you were blanketed by the shine of the green neon lights and sounds of the faux gators that would occasionally pop out of their pools to give players more of a challenge.
You had so much fun rebuilding this area. The sights and sounds and even the slight smell of…rain. There were so many parts that your team flawlessly put together to create the most perfect ‘bayou’ for the scaled animatronic. You’ve always been obsessed with anything crocodilian anyway so you really got to nerd out during the whole process.
You waved at the staff bots that wizzed past you, almost barreling you down. You looked back and watched them whirl away, a look of confusion on your face. You shook your head and continued on, wondering what was going on with them. Which, funnily enough, you were about to get your answer when some sort of identified item flew past the archway at the end of the little side hall.
You sped up across the bright green carpet as you were eager to see who was already messing up your work. You were firing yourself up to give them a very large piece of your mind when you turned the corner and saw none other than the big, green animatronic himself. You were just in time to see him throw a FazCam at super speed towards the last bot that was racing towards the door. He narrowly avoided the novelty camera so it flew past, clocking one of the big green neon signs and shattering part of the glass at the bottom corner.
“HEY!”
You were furious. What in the absolute hell would make him do that?!
Monty whipped around at the sound of your voice and locked eyes with you, narrowing them and letting out a low growl.
“Oh. It’s you.”
“Damn right it’s me. What the hell was that about?!”
“Don’t ya even think that you can bounce up in here and yell at me!” Monty roared, storming up to you.
Monty was used to intimidating people. Bossing them around. Throwing tantrums. That was just a part of the code that ingrained itself and made it into his personality. But you knew that. So you weren’t afraid of Monty (at least not really). You planted your feet and readied yourself for whatever issue Monty had.
“I came in here to check and see if you needed anything, Montgomery, until I saw you terrorizing staff bots!”
He eyed you for a moment like he was measuring you up before he leaned down and got nose to nose with you. You could see the neon glinting off of the sheen of his razor sharp teeth as he flashed a predatory smile.
“I need ya to go back to ya little office and mind your business.”
“Or what?” You narrowed your eyes, glaring up at him. Challenging Montgomery Gator was not on your list of things that would potentially happen today but you almost weren’t surprised because of his previous (and current) reports. You were surprised that he was throwing his attitude around so early. Over the last few months he had already received a few complaint reports but you brushed them off until you could talk to him yourself. And now the reports were definitely making a little more sense.
Monty stiffened and then let out a low chuckle. “Oh sugar…”
Before you could even react to what or why he said that, you felt his hands grip around your waist and just as quickly as he grabbed you, you felt the claw of his thumb slightly dig into your hip as he pushed you.
Not very hard, but just enough to cause you to stumble and trip backwards, right into one of the little ponds of water that was scattered out around the golf course. Water immediately went up your nose as you were unprepared for the submersion. You panic splashed until it dawned on you that you were only in water that was about 2 ft deep. Standing quickly, you coughed and sputtered, getting your breath back. You quickly looked around for the 7 ft gator to really give him a piece of your mind when you saw him exiting through the little hidden side door that went into the vast maze of underground tunnels.
“Montgomery!” You yelled out at the top of your lungs.
He briefly stopped and looked back at you. Right before he continued on through the door, he locked eyes with you across the massive area and flashed that dangerous grin.
“Nice glasses!”
You were left standing in the pond, soaking wet, completely dumbfounded.
—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-
Monty knew he would probably regret that later. He had only been online for 3 months and already the reports were coming in about his behavior. But if they would just leave him alone, then there wouldn't be any problems. He wasn’t going to be some show pony anymore. Monty cringed remembering what they first told him when they came back online.
'Things will be different now with the new owner.' 'So much more freedom.' 'No more harassment from the human staff.'
What a joke. Already Monty had two run-ins with a couple of mechanics and it wasn't even his fault. They didn't like the gators new upgrades. Called him creepy and started criticizing the new owner girl. Monty didn't understand why she wasn't here when they woke up, if she loved the place so much. And her attitude? Yeah, they were going to have problems. Monty was done being pushed around for fear of being decommissioned.
He strolled around the tunnels in areas that only he was familiar with. The regular staff usually avoided the lower tunnels altogether because of the loose Endo rumors. He had never seen one down here so he didn’t put much stock into the tales.
He came to a cross section with a few different openings that branched out. The one on the far left would take him back to his green room on RSR. As he went to take a tiny step towards the archway, Monty stopped and briefly stared down the tunnel to the right of him. He contemplated for a moment, rolled his eyes at his thoughts, and started down the tunnel on the right, headed straight towards the maintenance door on the far end that adjoined to another door that led to one of the many gift shops.
Monty just trudged along. Humans get sick if they’re wet and cold. And it was pretty chilly in the Plex… She was going to need a change of clothes. And if she was actually going to maybe stick to what she promised, then Monty didn’t want her dying of pneumonia or something just as serious.
At least that’s what he told himself to hide how he really felt.
—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-
You sat and steamed in your desk chair. You hadn’t bothered to grab a change of clothes from the multitude of shops in the plex because you were just that angry. Instead you decided to stomp through the atrium all the way back to your office, halting other employees with a shake of your head when they turned to ask questions about your sopping state, the now heavy green ponytail shaking off water droplets every time you moved.
You had already typed a message on your FazWatch to have the technicians clean and repair the shattered sign that was the handy work of Monty himself
You were upset for a multitude of reasons. One being that you let him get to you. You knew how he was from looking at the statements from others but you choose to look past that and give him the benefit of the doubt. Which is now the reason why you’re sitting in your office soaking wet. You hadn’t expected things to go perfect, you honestly didn’t know what you expected, but it wasn’t being drenched in pseudo pond water on your first day back.
And two, your pride was hurt. Monty was always your favorite animatronic. Knowing that you didn’t automatically win his favor definitely knocked you down a few pegs. You even wore your favorite glasses today that mimicked his own. You felt very silly now because of it.
You really weren’t sure what to even do. How do you punish an animatronic when you’ve made it clear that no one will punish them? You started to feel so stupid. It was completely your own fault for thinking a famously unruly gator would automatically change just because there were new people in the mix.
You were half way through a sigh when you jumped at a sudden and loud knock at the door. You stood and shivered, the chill of the Plex finally sinking in and it was only enhanced by the dampness of your clothes. Opening the door you were absolutely shocked to see the guilty gator on the other side of your door frame.
You looked up to see fabric hanging from the end of an outstretched claw.
“Here.” Monty huffed, through gritted teeth. “Wouldn’t want ya to catch a cold and die before you really get to run this place.”
Your face morphed from sudden shock to a shy but warm smile as you plucked whatever outfit it was from the tip of his claw. Monty was known for his bad decisions, but he definitely wasn’t known for regretting them or making up to the people he got into it with. You still weren’t sure what to do, but this was progress. And any progress was amazing, especially with Montgomery Gator.
“Thank you, Monty.” You beamed up at him, your anger gone. “But if you lay hands on me again, we’re going to have problems.”
Monty held up his hands in mock surrender while letting out a rumbling chuckle. “No promises, sugar.”
He put special emphasis on his new name for you.
“It’s Beanie. You’d do well to remember that, Montgomery Gator.” You sounded stern but you were just teasing him. You liked watching his eyes narrow and that grin spread like he was moments from eating you alive and enjoying every bit of it. No thrill you’ve ever gotten before compared to the feeling you got from him and you wanted more.
Monty took one hand to push his long, bright red hair back while he used his other to push his glasses further up on his face. His expression relaxed into one of lazy confidence as he slowly looked you over.
"I think I'll remember just fine." He mumbled, eyes locking back on yours before he chuckled again and turned to start his walk back down the hall.
You shook your head and had to stop yourself from giggling. Looking down at the clothes in your hands, you started to unfold them to actually see what he grabbed you. When you finally saw the images on the front, you couldn't help but laugh.
Of course he would get you a Montgomery Gator pajama set.
It would have to do while you washed and dried your clothes. You didn't even want to consider what the other employees are going to think when they look at your chic new outfit. Very professional. Very boss babe.
Just as you were heading to your room to change, you got a ping on your FazWatch. Looking down to check, you saw a text from Sun.
tea party? 🧁
You quickly typed out a response as your excitement rose, especially at seeing the cupcake. You definitely assumed there were going to be pastries and you could always go for something sweet.
sure! let me check in with the other GRs and i'll head that way :)
you can maybe also possibly invite them too if you want <3 :))
You giggled more at Sun's progressive use of emojis.
sounds great! i'll text you when we're on the way :) <3
Well this was certainly an exciting first day.
To be continued...
Author's Notes:
Ahhhh it's hereeee. More foundation mostly so I'm sorry about that but because you guys have had to wait so long I'm going to put some heavy fluff and maybe spicy parts in the next chapter or two. Things have leveled out so much more in my life so I'm going to try and at least upload weekly like I originally said! And I will definitely be continuing the Bonnie story, as well, but I need to find a better way to separate the stories on my page. I'll play around with that and see what I can do. Also I got approved to post on AO3 so I will start adding chapters there too!! If you would like my user on there just let me know :) Missed hearing from you guys and I just want to say thank you to everyone who's following along. Much love <3

confession. i'm fr TIRED of humans treating corinthians like shit or things that dont feel. it's the little things that make me want to quit my job and i don't know, scam the elderly for a living? (that was a joke.) i love my job don't get me wrong, it makes me the happiest i've been in a long time. today at work while i was busy helping a coworker see what was wrong with their terminal, some dude walked right up to me. he was maybe, i don't know, late 30's, early 60's? it's so hard to tell humans apart. and put his FINGER underneath the panel on my NECK. i smacked his hand away so hard he yelled, but of course i didn't care he almost got to some delicate shit! all because he couldn't stop himself from getting his grubby manchild hands off me.

fucking. respect corinthians. before the empyrean war some of you complained we were replacing humanity, and now that we did all the work for y'all in the war, you treat us like servants and objects that just are there. we'll be around for a long long time. and a ton of us won't forget this.

I wasn't made during the war, so maybe my comments aren't valid, but I totally agree, OP. Humans have become so full of themselves, it's revolting. I'm sorry about your issues as well. We've got a group on TMB about how to reduce human population, and we also think you might be better suited especially if you live in a smaller city, as you've stated in previous posts.

Hello frends some cool knowledge 4 u, so you don't channel ur anger in the wrong direction. Because I have been seeing this a lot this week.
If there's a really popular post where the images are suddenly removed for "violating tumblr's guidelines", they were NOT manually removed by tumblr staff.
Images will get automatically flagged/removed if a post gets reported enough times. This means either coordinated efforts by a group of people, or (equally-if-not-more-likely), mass reporting from 1-2 individuals using bots.
Many reports for the same post = post automatically flagged = images automatically removed. Keyword: automatically
Most times this is an easy fix because the OP can just appeal and say the post was improperly flagged. The post then gets manually reviewed and reinstated within a couple hours.
HOWEVER, if the OP's blog is deactivated (which has been the case in, I think, every instance I've seen people mad about over the past few days), the false reports don't get appealed, post stays broken, people start spreading misinformation that staff has Personally Targeted This Post.
Guys. Plz. It's the report system. Like literally any other website of this size, shit gets flagged automatically (and incorrectly) by malicious users.
There's plenty of things to be annoyed about with regards to Tumblr's staff and how the website is run without making shit up to have an excuse to be mad at them.
#psa#really really really. i promise no singular person on tumblr's staff is gleefully going around and manually flagging images on certain post#no one is doing that. that's not how it works.

5 meta recs!
Some meta recs because we have lots of interesting/relevant meta.
1. Fiction Works 1/2: Different Strokes for Different Folks and Fiction Works 2/2: Storytelling, not Teaching or Preaching by @danpuff-ao3
The two posts are totally worth reading/framing on the wall/preserving in The Library of Congress. It's essentially Fandom 101. Also Life 101. But it's something a lot of folks forget. Danni goes incredibly incisive in the two posts. She looks at the basic problems and zooms out to look at what's the real point of creating a story? What are the limits? What does it mean to feel something is problematic? It's a super uncomfortable read because it's talking about things with more clarity/detail than just the normal vague words we are used to seeing on proship posts. Love, love, love these two essays. <3
Right off the bat, I feel the need to clarify that I understand there are portrayals in fiction that can be troublesome, and sensitivity readers are a boon. However, even here there seems to be too firm a hold on what “should be.” This does not take into account that everyone is different.
People accept this in a vague sort of way. “Dave likes football, and Carrie likes soccer.” This goes beyond people having different favorite colors, or different skin tones. We are all born with different bodies, different genes. We are all born into different circumstances, and are raised differently. We are all molded into different people, and have different preferences, and choose different life paths.
What people also fail to take into account is: the world is a big, crazy place. All sorts of things are possible. How probable they are is another question, but “probable” matters less than “possible.”
2. Don't Quit Your Day Job, AI by @squibstress
AI!!!! So I have been following a lot of AI news about how it's going to replace actors, designers and other creative jobs. Also a lot of fandom posts about fanfic/fanart created by AI getting posted on AO3 and also about authors/artists locking their works because AI is using them to improve. Squibstress did an investigation for what I really, really cared about.
So, okay. We know AI is already writing copy and fiction, but the real question, the important question, is: Can it write fanfic?
To find out, your intrepid reporter made an account on ChatGPT and gave the bot two simple fanfiction prompts.
Love, love, love.
[. . .] I use way too many smirks and rolled eyes in my Minerva/Severus fic.
That's how Minerva/Severus works! I need smirks and rolled eyes in my Snagonagall!! Definitely going to stick to Squibstress and Jane Austen for my reading diet for now. Sorry, AI <3
3. Laughing, Crying, Killing Myself by eldritcher
Fandom has like two big problems now. Ok that's really simplifying things. But AI and antis. Eldritcher has a lot of super clear insights about fandom and why some type of cults/mobs happen here. We definitely know this but it's the type of message which is good to repeat a lot. Cult stuff is scary.
So many who came to fandom and similar creative spheres in the last decade have only known belonging in cliques that are one turn away from becoming mobs. They haven't had the chance to explore discomfort in creation that goes against the norms of their clique, because it endangers belonging and often endangers more than merely belonging because of how dependent they are on the validation of the group what with little support available elsewhere outside. It is tempting to think these mobs are only prevalent in circles that are against shipping or slash or kink or anything seen as transgressive by some consensus, but that's harmfully reductive. Ostracisation via pitch-forks are as present in the bastions of those who ship the most transgressive ships as they are in the bastions of those who don't. The mob is a weapon and all factions have learned by now how to weaponise it to vanish those they don't like.
4. Heroes, Villains, and Blorbos by @danpuff-ao3
I kind of gave up on reading convincing Marauder group characterizations in Snape centric fics and convincing Snape characterizations in Marauder centric fics esp with the more recent fanon takes. But omg. I love those characters/potential. Danni's essay really, really goes into the reason why some characterizations don't work for me because she is spot on about identifying what makes those characters tick. Including their flaws. Flawed characters are sexy because they are human. Our fandom really really doesn't get that point about these characters a lot of times.
None of them were perfect. All of them had potential.
So much of their promise died in the war. They were all so damn young, and so deeply impacted. They all made grave mistakes. They all achieved great feats.
But what draws me to them all above all else is the horrible humanity of them. All of their virtues, and especially all of their flaws.
5. What is good writing anyway? by @danpuff-ao3
At this point I'm rambling, but the point is: how can any of us really judge what good writing is? Even if we can, how do we recommend what is "good" in a way that is fair, or in a way that will be well-received? But most of all, I sort of want people to think beyond the popular view of what is "good" because what is "good" doesn't matter so much as how much you enjoy it, and how it touches you and your life.
Really not sorry for triplereccing danni's essays. I read them in a binge this week and that got me inspired to do a meta post. So! Everybody needs to read them because they are really getting at the heart of a lot of fandom things we can identify with. This essay especially was so personal for me because of why I got into reccing. The fics I normally saw recced didn't work for me. Totally not a fault of the fics/recs. But I wanted to rec fics I loved. I feel those fics are definitely worth reccing because they made a big difference to me beyond just good writing by some definition. But also this is a really good read for authors who feel they are not good enough/comparing to other authors/feeling imposter syndrome. The readers that love your fics are really in love with those fics. For those readers your fics are the best fics in the world. Like Danni says because what is "good" doesn't matter so much as how much you enjoy it, and how it touches you and your life.

Hi! Sorry if this isn't much of an ask, but I can't find any discussion about it and I don't know any people IRL who use Tumblr. The thing is... is it just my account or are spam bots extremely out of control??? I've been around for some years, so I'm used to those random bot accounts that follow you. It was annoying but most part of the time they didn't even post anything. Now, every time I want to scroll through any tag (like #photography) it's full of pornographic spam. Apparently they're random bots that spam popular tags and receive many likes (100 or 200 most times) from other bots. It's both annoying (because every time I search a tag it's full of nsfw spam) and also sad because it's probably stolen content from random girls used to promote malicious links. What the heck is going on 😭😭😭
It's not just you! The porn bots actually have a long and storied history here on Tumblr.com 😭 They've been here since the beginning, and Tumblr's attempt to ban porn on the site actually led to its huge downfall in 2018. Things that weren't porn were getting caught in their filters and for a while it made the site unusable. I think they've loosened the filters they were using to ban NSFW content (or gotten rid of them entirely) which is why the porn bots are back. Essentially, the porn bots automatically follow a bunch of random blogs so that they look legitimate and start to show up in google searches, which then leads people to click on their links. You can just block them and report them as spam when you see them.

Dear baby tumblr users
I just want to let any of the little baby accounts that follow me now because of the stupid new rule tumblr put in place to know:
If you don't have at least have some number of liked posts (not from me specifically but anywhere on here) in your Liked folder, by like a week after you've followed me, I will assume you are a bot and report & block you as such.
Or better yet start making posts yourself, like at least 1, or reblogging things you like. Have that be the first thing you do when you can start doing stuff.
I don't know what you think tumblr is, but this is a blogging site, you kind of gotta give the rest of us at least a vague idea that you're a sentient being with human experiences and desires ok.
What you should do on Tumblr
Now I don't mean put personal details like your real name, or where you live/work/go to school, or what your triggers are. That's none of any of our business, and honestly you shouldn't be putting that anywhere else either.
Stuff like your hobbies, or favorite books/tvshows/movies, or some weird out there thing that happened to you one time.
You want to interact with fandom more, this is a pretty good website to do it on, especially if it's for collaborative works.
You want to role play, there's entire role play communities on here.
You wanna do nothing but follow feel good blogs that posts nothing but cute animal photos you can do that.
Tumblr is what I like to call day-walking social media. In the fact that it allows you to be an absolute little creature on here in your own time, and be able to pass as a normal member of society IRL if you're doing it right.
If you're trying to get internet famous, you've infamously come to the wrong place as the most famous users on tumblr tend to be people the average tumblr user base has done their best to run off the site.
How tumblr works best is if what you're most easily identified as among your fellow tumblrites is your personal interests and quirks rather than your personal information.
There's no such thing as spam liking or spam reblogging on tumblr. You can dig into someone's post archive and like and reblog every single one of their posts and nothings going to happen to you or the person you're reblogging stuff from.
Blocking
You don't need a reason to block anyone.
I've blocked people for just seeing them spew hateful shit directed at another user and that made me uncomfortable.
I've blocked people who're in the same fandoms as me just because some of the stuff the write/draw makes me uncomfy.
I've blocked blogs who just makes posts about stuff I'm uninterested in but constantly come up in my search results because we're in the same fandom. As there's only so many variations of character/reader story tag variations I can be bothered to put into the block tag function before I just get sick of doing it.
I've blocked people for dumb blorbo opinions that I just cannot agree with, because that's far better than starting beef with a rando because I saw that they view a character differently than I do.
I've blocked people who I can only assume were making a trolling attempt in the comments of my own posts. Or they really were that illiterate and gutsy enough to come yell at me for their dumb interpretation of what I posted on my own post.
Tagging
There's the tag block feature as I mentioned earlier, though be warned it's not quite perfect.
Dumb people will try and censor themselves in the tags, which means it doesn't get blocked when you try and block that tag. So don't use numbers or symbols in place of letters. Not to mention improperly tagging all together.
Such as tagging a flashing image of something as Epilepsy rather than tagging it as Flashing, which is actually dangerous. As people who actually have Epilepsy tend to use their tag as a way to talk about their experiences and talk to fellow epileptic people meaning that they could get bombarded with flashing images unexpectedly if you're tagging flashing imagery as Epilepsy.

This ad is a scam. The actual "dream box" portrayed costs over $2k as a base price.
OBVIOUSLY I'm sure many tumblr users know this is a scam but some may think that this low price is a special giveaway, or will be "$29" with hundreds of dollars on shipping, or something else.
The issue here is that there is no way to report these people as scammers. Sites like these will take your info and sell it, steal your credit cards, all sorts of these- and tumblr is HELPING them by facilitating their ability to exploit us.
Websites cost money. I know this. I can afford $10 now and then to Blaze photos of my cats, so I do. I'm finally in an income category where I don't HAVE to choose $10 on food or $10 for a fucking cat post. Now I'm paying for as many services I love, so that they will be there for me and others.
Give us the ability to report scam and spam sites. Make advertisers go through some kind of verification process. DO something about this, please.
Between extremely suspicious supplements, especially "viagra like" ones that have been binned as spam emails for literally TWO DECADES NOW and adverts for stuff like this are all over the site. Cringey posts about #MCR and #Superwholock didn't crash tumblr. Bots and spam did.
And tumblr people, the devs need this money to keep the site running. If you can fill this hellsite with animals and cool stuff like what @headspace-hotel and @bogleech and @systlin have posted about, the wild and natural world, or cool facts about swords, or literally whatever your deep dive passion is... spend the $10 if you can afford it. Even if these programmers don't prevent the spam. Do it because that stuff is COOL and INTERESTING and sometimes is a total SHITPOST and because other people deserve to have that inflicted on their eyeballs, too.
