something that really stands out to me is that the two times utena brings up the concept of eternity is when she wants to die as a child and when she's being raped. literally only in the absolute worst fucking moments of her life, and it's so viscerally upsetting both times. the show really does not want you to have positive associations with the concept of eternity, which is of course the point. but at the same time, utena clearly does. when she's in the coffin, she laments that nothing eternal exists, implying that she wishes it does. and "something eternal" is what gets her out of there, she just also learns that eternity isn't a good thing. i've always been less sure about what it means that she asks akio what eternity is in episode 33. it tells us she's forgotten what she saw as a kid, that she still might be clinging to the idea that eternity is something that could save her, and like i said, it draws a parallel to when she was in the coffin. eternity is also something akio offers her during his proposal in episode 38. it's the illusion of a kind of happily ever after. i suppose that in that moment when she asks him, utena is trying to believe in that illusion, because facing the reality of the situation is too painful. it's like anthy looking at the projections rather than the real stars. maybe. i'm not sure.

as much as I would like to believe that Frederick and Asuka could be friends again, like, Freddy is building that rocket as fast as he can to kick his ass before the residual FoC and Gear power leaves his body. I'm sorry. I know I'm the Asuka apologist but dude. Nearly 2 centuries of the most unimaginable agony and festering sense of betrayal, compounded by Asuka goading him intentionally on multiple occassions (his reasoning behind all this goading aside) he is not just going to be able to let that go.

Asuka's crimes against humanity are one thing, you can argue til you're blue in the face about that and there's actual ground to cover there, but what he did to Frederick and Aria is like... damn dude. You, without their consent, turned them into gears. You lied about it to their faces too. Aria, someone who is cited as having her identity and who she is as a human being be one of the most important things to her, trusted you to put her into cryosleep because you said you'd find a way to save her so that she could be with Frederick. She didn't want that, she wanted to stay and spend the time she had left with Frederick instead, but she let you convince her cause she trusted you. And you took away her body, identity, and autonomy. You took Sol's humanity from him following that, lied to him about it, and then spent 200 years pissing him off so bad on purpose to make sure he'd always be there to help you fix everything. Oh, and then you made him kill his wife that you mutilated. Twice, essentially.

I love you Asuka, but shit, that's all kinds of levels of fucked my man. Frederick justifiably hates you really REALLY bad. I hope we get something in Dual Rulers settling this, cause Frederick just letting that go even following the events of Strive is just kinda unrealistic.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason for there being such a difference between how Aaravos treated Leola and how he treats Sir Sparklepuff is due to how much losing Leola hurt. Like it devastated and destroyed him so much that his mind has just defaulted to the mentality of "If I don't ever get attached to anyone ever again, then I won't experience that pain of loss ever again".

-someone having a different opinion from you does not make them automatically a bot or a psyop. it makes them a person who has a different opinion than you

-fallacies, propaganda techniques, and means of spreading mis/disinformation are not just things to watch out for from those you view as opposition, but also things to keep an eye out for concerning your perceived allies and yourself

-sometimes people just don't know things or know incorrect things. this is not a statement of their moral inferiority. not everyone is actively out to do harm, some people just have questions or are wrong about things

ohh hunted, the certified darling. i really like him a lot, and i find it surprising he was the most unpopular voice until broken overtook him and bumped up to the second place. i suppose the reason for this is that he's more "forgettable" than actively despised, as i've only ever heard one person express their disdain for him. i'm hoping pristine cut shines more of a spotlight on him and beast cos they really deserve it!

speaking of bumping up, i really think once i sit down and begin studying his character properly he'll officially be one of my favorite voices. he's darling tier right now, yes, but i feel like i don't quite grasp understand his character yet. theres many reasons i want to though! first, the voice johnny sims provided him is so soft and lovely, one of my favorites. aecond, i'm so interested in his place within the long quiet and tbe narrative. third, the wild routes my beloved.

Hope this doesn't come across as weird or anything but when you draw characters, whether they're swapping spit or just being close in some other way, you're so good at capturing a feeling of, like, intimacy? and it's just one of the many aspects i admire about your art🌸^-^

aww thank you..🥰💛💛💛 i might not be the drawing kisses genius cus i don't even do it all that often but i'll explain a bit of how i go about with closeness between characters and such relying on my prev drawings; aggressive and hatred filled closeness included, because i think it's just as important (to me at least) i hope it makes sense lol

generally it's awesome to just take ideas for these sorts of things from the most random places.. other people's art, movies and stuff u watched, etc etc. i'm usually really quick to pinpoint in my mind what exactly i like in a scene of this variety and how i can flip it and turn it like a pancake. i'm a person that takes all of my thinking capacity to come up with the right expressions to convey a mood and where to place the hands. writing all of that has me feeling like the bald body language guy from youtube
