How do I talk to a fourth grader about sex Ed? Are there books or an online resource for parents you recommend?

hi there, thank you for asking!

the book that I use to teach OWL classes is Robie Harris' It's Perfectly Normal; I strongly recommend getting ahold of the revised & updated edition from 2021, which is more inclusive and queer-friendly, but even the older edition is a pretty good starting place.

it can be a great way to start the conversation if the fourth grader in question hasn't approached you with their own questions about sex and bodies, which can be daunting for a lot of kids, especially if that hasn't historically been the vibe when you interact! they may not know a lot at that point, but most kids have definitely absorbed that sex is something that they're not supposed to talk about.

if they're feeling up to having a chat beyond the basics (anatomy, reproduction 101, changes that come with puberty, squiggly crush feelings, consent and no means no, etc), that's awesome! I find most kids in the 4th-6th grade range already have a lot more information about sex than most people expect; they just have it jumbled up and out of order and lack the tools to make sense of it. ie, I've had students who know about periods but are under the impression that they come out of the butt, understand that a baby grows inside of a person but have no clue how it gets out, and make jokes about someone getting ejaculated on because they know it's Inappropriate and therefore funny but don't actually have any idea what ejaculation actually is or why it happens.

so, you know. much to work on there!

honestly I think the #1 most important thing for any adult trying to be a good ally and educator to young people is to kill the urge to cringe literally ever at all about anything, because the second you make a kid feel weird for asking a question is the second they start hesitating to confide in you with their questions. I've had to poker face kids asking me why someone would ever put someone else's penis in their mouth, what a harem is, and kids very earnestly describing their first wet dreams without having any idea that they were describing wet dreams. there cannot be any "no," it's "yes, and" from here on it. "yes that sounds weird to you, and it's completely fine to do that with people you trust if and when you feel ready to have sex" has got to be the constant refrain. be as rigorously open-minded and non-judgmental as possible establishes that you are a safe person to talk to honestly, and encourages your kiddo to be similarly curious and accepting.

if you ever find yourself really flustered by a question, or you genuinely don't have an answer, it's okay to pull a "I don't know! let me find out more information and get back to you." (also great behavior to model for kids, btw.) if you're ever stumped trying to figure out how to break something down into 4th grader-sized chunks, I recommend Scarleteen as a starting place - it's a sex ed forum run by volunteers for teens, some of them pretty young, so the answers are written very accessibly.

easing into the topic by discussing things like feelings and puberty can be a great way to ease in. have they talked about puberty at school? are their friends having any bodily changes? how do people talk about bodies? do kids get made fun of for developing breasts or growing body hair? does anyone at school date? how does the kid you're talking with feel about all of that? I might just be blessed with unusually gossipy kids, but they LOVE dishing about how other kids act. I learn so so much about my students by asking them to tell me how their peers behave at school; they love to narc.

also: it can be a huge bummer if YOU were really ready to rumble being sex positive and a source of info, but sometimes kids just aren't ready to engage with that. I've know 4th graders who are extremely at eases talking about the ins and outs of vaginal anatomy and 6th graders who would rather run away than even acknowledge genitals exist; there's no predicting when anyone will be comfortable with this. to a certain degree you might need to encourage a kid through initial awkwardness, but if they're reaching a point of serious distress and discomfort we've got to let it go. unfortunately I've taught kids who reacted to their parents' enthusiasm for sex positivity by wilting in exactly the opposite direction, getting anxious and confrontational whenever the topic came up. the majority of kids will become curious in their own time, especially as puberty and sexuality becomes more pressing to them and their peers, and sometimes the best thing you can do is leave that door open for them to return to in their own time.

also, hey! if you're ever really really stuck, I'm here on tumblr dot com :) I'm by now means an expert, but I've taught a LOT of fourth graders what a condom is.

Okay so here's what I know about the whole Anon-ask problem regarding the TNMN community

(Disclaimer: This is only the anon problems that I remember, if any other problems that weren't mentioned in this post that you would like to add, feel free to either reblog or make your own post.)

Just in case, I won't be pointing out names of content creators who have received asks like this, but if it happened to me I'll mention it because I'm completely fine with people knowing that I have received hateful ask.

Btw, Expect spelling mistakes and for some things to not make sense because I'm a fast typer who doesn't look back through my work

Here are some weird ahh anon ask that have happened before (or at least the ones I remember)

1. The whole 'Joy hates you' situation. From what I know 2 (maybe even more) people (including me) have gotten an anon ask saying that Joy (joydoesathing) hates them. Joy already addressed this issue so I won't go on and on about it but anon, that was NOT okay.

2. 'K*s.' Multiple TNMN content creators have gotten su*cid3 threats and I'm just gonna say, if you have ever sent someone an ask like that, wtb (what the bow 🎀) is your problem? This is a horrible thing to tell someone especially if they have been going through a bad time

3. There was one particular situation where an anon had a 'good' (no it was not good wtb) idea to go into a content creator's, who was a minor, inbox saying 'I ship you with _____'. For extra context, the person who they were talking about was an ADULT. This anon might as well just went into the minor's inbox and said "Oh hey I ship you with an adult hope you don't mind." Wtb?! For extra context: this ask also made the adult uncomfortable when they saw it, and both the minor and adult were very upset about this.

4. A person who role plays as their TNMN oc got a hateful ask because they shipped their oc with an actual character from TNMN. Im sorry, since when was (unproblematic) oc x canon ships a problem??? Wtb

Hey there! I was hoping to request a headcannon. If you are busy or do not want to write abt it. Feel free to ignore this. But I was hoping to ask for a platonic headcannon of the sparda boys + V with a male reader being like the main character of Lies of P/ or P if you want to call him. (If you do not know anything abt it. Feel free to ignore this, but I will fill you in)

So, the reader is quiet. I mean, QUIET, not a word leaves his lips. He has a left metal arm (Nero and the reader probably get along with that) and has a talking lantern that calls itself Gemini around the belt on his hip. Everything seems fine at first. But then the boys spot the reader carrying things a lot heavier then someone his age probably could ever (he looks like he is 16), was a lot heavier and for some odd reason, there is a sound of ticking and metal moving whenever the reader was there but they just shrug it off as the reader's metal arm making some weird sounds.

But that all came crashing down when boys and the reader were fighting some demon or enemy and the reader got stabbed. He didn't bleed blood, he bled oil? Now the boys were frightened or confused or a mix of both. And then, suddenly the reader goes on some far away mission, leaving his talking lantern to the crew so they don't feel so lonely. And since Gemini is a chatterbox and has no sense of secrets, it says everying the boys need to know. Gemini explained that the reader is actually a puppet, bit so advanced that it could fit with the humans. And then the more personal stuff is being revealed. Gemini reveals that the reader is actually a repleca of a real boy (the real reader if you will) the boy died a long time ago due to a disease and his father couldn't cope, so he made the puppet version of his son. But the reader didn't want to be just some copy of a dead boy. The dead should rest, the reader wanted to be his own person. He wanted to be a real boy. So he lied he was actually human, to be something he despreatly wished. How would the boys react to this information.

And after that info dump from Gemini, some time passed (feel free to add how long, weeks or mounths) the reader finally returned, his movement nore fluid and the sound of ticking and metal no longer being heard, but a faint sound of a heartbeat. And the reader finally spoke "I'm home." What would the boys feel after the reader finally returned.

Bonus points if you write the reader playing the piano in the middle of the freaking night while everyone else is sleeping.

Sparda boys + V x P from Lies of P-like Reader headcannons

¤ Dante ¤

-Dante doesn't mind the fact that you don't talk much. If anything, it reminds him of Vergil.

-Thinks your superhuman strength is pretty impressive, given your apparent age and humanity, though it's nothing he can't do himself.

-As you two get to know each other, (except Gemini does most of the talking) Dante begins to see you as the son he never had.

-When he saw you get stabbed and bleed oil instead of blood, the rusty gears in his mind clicked, and Dante realized exactly what you were.

-Confused, Dante could only watch as you ran off to do God-knows-what, leaving behind your lantern to keep him company. Said lantern then proceeded to expose all your secrets and reveal that you are an advanced puppet recreation of a boy who died many years ago of a disease, made by a grief stricken father who just couldn't move on.

-It also told them how you hated being only a puppet, and how you desperately wanted to be your own person. Dante had to admit this was extremely depressing information that made him pity you a little. It also hurt his heart to think the kid he considered his own wasn't even alive.

-A few months passed, edging dangerously close to a year, before you came back, and when you did, Dante was shocked to find that you moved more fluidly and the clanking of metal was gone, as if you'd somehow replaced your machine parts with human ones.

-"I'm home," You'd said, barely managing to get the words out before Dante tackled you to the floor with a massive bear hug, actually crying a little as he mumbled about how much he'd missed you and how stupid you were for going off alone.

-In a way, it was a good thing that you'd decided to run off to apparently become a human, or Dante wouldn't have made the decision to ask if you'd want him to adopt you.

-Now that you're a human, you can play the piano easier since your fingers will move more fluidly. Thus, you wake Dante up at 3 AM every night with loud, somewhat discordant piano music that...well, let's be honest, is fricking annoying.

■ Vergil ■

-Vergil saw you as a quieter, milder-mannered, honestly better little brother.

-While your strength was impressive, there wasn't much you could do with it that he couldn't do too.

-One thing Vergil doesn't like is your stupid chatterbox lantern, Gemini. It's annoying and it gets on his nerves.

-The day he witnessed you get started and bleed oil instead of human blood, Vergil knew you weren't a human or a demon, you couldn't be anything that came from this world.

-Then you took off, presumably to complete some mission, though for what benefits, he had no clue. You'd left behind that annoying lantern for some reason, unfortunately. Probably to spite him.

-Naturally, Vergil questioned the lantern and it readily divulged your secrets, explaining how you were an advanced puppet created to heal a grieving father who couldn't move on.

-Gemini also decided to inform Vergil of how you detested being a puppet, and how you wanted more than anything to be your own person.

-This was distressing information; now Vergil was even more concerned than before about where you'd run off to and why.

-He'd searched for you for months, but no matter how hard he looked, he just couldn't find you. It was as if you'd vanished into thin air.

-Then, out of the blue, you returned, more humanlike than ever, and for the first time in history, you spoke. "I'm home," You told him.

-Since Vergil is not a touchy feely person, he deemed hugs unnecessary, so he settled for a very firm handshake and a pat on the shoulder.

-On the inside, though, Vergil was screaming with glee, overjoyed to have his precious little brother, whom he loved a little more than Dante back.

-However, should you decide to play the piano at 2 in the goddamn morning, Vergil will march downstairs, face mask and all, and whack you on the head with his slipper.

□ Nero □

-Nero thought of you as his best friend, cause you two were alike in so many ways, the most important part being that you both have metal arms.

-Your super strength is impressive. This means you can lift all the heavy boxes and furniture so Nero doesn't have to.

-Gemini is kinda annoying, but let's not forget Nero grew up around Dante and knows Nico, so talkative morons aren't really new around here.

-The moment he witnessed you get stabbed and bleed oil was the moment Nero's whole world shattered. You clearly weren't human, so...what were you?

-Nero had so many questions he wanted to ask, but he didn't get the chance to, since you decided to run off on some crazy mission, leaving your chatterbox lantern behind.

-Beyond angry, Nero interrogates the lantern and demands to know what the hell you actually were, and what else you might be hiding. Gemini quickly folds and confesses everything, explaining how you're a puppet recreation of a dead boy who hates the fact that he's a puppet and badly wishes to be a real human.

-Nero was shocked by all this; it's a lot of information to digest, and after a moment, sinks into a chair and decides to let you do your thing. There's nothing he can do to help you anyway.

-Several weeks pass before you return, and when you do, you seem to be more human, more fluid in your movements, and more capable of speech.

-"I'm home," You said, shocking Nero with your words. Without even thinking, he gets up and runs into you, giving you the biggest bear hug you've ever felt. He really missed you, bestie.

-From that point on, things were easier, and happier, the sole exception being when you decide to play the piano at 3 AM and wake the hell out of everyone, making Nero consider dismantling the piano so he can finally get some sleep.

● V ●

-V endearingly saw you as a child, and sought to be your guardian, even if you were nearing adulthood.

-He thought your superhuman strength was beyond incredible as it allowed you to perform remarkable feats and carry him around when he was feeling too weak.

-He also noted that you looked a lot like him, especially your hair and eyes.

-Your lantern friend Gemini, though irritating, was quite similar to Griffon, making it easier for him to get along with it.

-When he saw you got stabbed, he grew very frightened. He thought he'd lost you, until he saw you bleeding oil instead of blood.

-After retreating, you decided to take off before he could ask for details, presumably never to be seen again.

-V was beside himself with worry, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, had the lantern you'd left behind, Gemini, not spoken up.

-It told him of your dark history; how you were a puppet made by a grieving father to replace his dead son, and how you hated being a puppet; how all you wanted was to be human.

-V felt so sad upon hearing of this. He never knew the sweet boy he cared for had such a tragic backstory. However, what could he do? He was essentially useless in a situation like this.

-It was a few months before you returned, but when you did, you were a changed person. You were more fluid in your movements and you spoke to V, for the first time ever. "I'm home."

-V was ecstatic to see you again and wasted no time in stumbling forwards to give you a hug and welcome you home.

-From that moment on, V acts more and more like a parent to you, despite his crumbling existence. He loves you like a son and always will, even if you wake him up with your piano at 3 in the morning.

If you don't mind, I'm going to just give some little tidbits about doing the zoom call with Kevin and Jenna

There was no intro with me. The only person I talked to before the call was the producer and that was through email. I had no idea what to expect, and I was really nervous going in. I made a few small notes of things I'd like have said, and I think most everything got covered.

I didn't think it was real until Kevin and Jenna popped on screen.

I was a little shocked when Kevin was so enthusiastic about me A) being an OG glee fan and B) about my real job.

I was taken aback, a little, by how very good looking Kevin was.

(I tried to look nice - but I looked ultimately like me and not like someone who has a lot of money, lol)

The conversation felt mostly like it was me and Kevin, who seemed to be driving it. I had to remind myself to look at Jenna as I talked, too.

(I'll talk more about Jenna later in another post)

I tried to be polite and professional. As the convo went on, it felt really easy to do the conversation. It felt both longer and shorter than I expected.

Funny thing about when I started writing fanfic -- I lied a little, but I didn't want to go into the biggest reason that I was held back so long from writing fanfic is due to my severe social anxiety and the scariness of the glee fandom. But I felt like that was too complex to get into.

Also did you notice Kevin's insulation that I started writing after the show started getting bad after season 3? After the convo was over -- I was really bummed I didn't defend the later seasons in that moment.

I felt really bad when I said fanfic isn't for you, and I hope my reasoning was clear. They seemed to be understanding, though?

Kevin just beamed when I brought up that I wrote Office fanfic. Btw, I COMPLETELY forgot that he was on an episode of Office while doing the interview.

There was one point that I thought, maybe, Jenna had snapped with me -- and it was when she mentioned that they were fans of things, too. Mom (who told me she noticed Jenna's oddness and apathy) said she didn't notice that moment, so it may have been just me.

(Mom did say that I should not have said Kurt was my favorite character - but I reminded her that she already knew since the producer had already asked me that as a vetting question)

I was a little surprised when they didn't ask me about my favorites like they did with a lot of the other fan guests they have. I did mention Kurt in the episode. But I was a little bummed I didn't get to do the usual. (Apparently, they didn't with the first woman either?)

The ending was super, super awkward, and I believe, the only point that was edited. At the very end - Kevin asked for my goodreads account. I was so stunned that all I could say was that it was my full name. I kind of wonder (now) if he was trying to get me to plug some kind of social media? Anyway, the producer jumped in and said she'd get him the info.

It kind of then ended abruptly, as they were saying goodbye. They shut down and the Kevin popped on again to say goodbye again. I could also hear Jenna going straight into asking about what they were doing next.

Fwiw - Kevin never did slide into my Goodreads DMs, which is fine. I didn't really expect him too.

The producer then sent me a message a half hour later saying that Kevin and Jenna 'genuinely' liked talking to me and that I was an awesome guest. (and that she'd be in touch).

I really liked how the conversation went (mostly) but afterwards, I was kind of bummed that that was it. I have so much more I wanted to say --- and there was a part of me that kind of wanted to speak up about a lot of things that we always talk about here. But I'm glad I didn't get off topic, and that I did have a professional, honest, and hopefully education conversation about fanfic.

Fwiw - the producer sent me one last message letting me know that the podcast had aired. I did send a thank you email back, but have not yet heard a response -- so I'm guessing that is that.

I am grateful for the experience. Everyone has been so lovely about it, and people even in my real life have had a lot of good things to say. I suppose it's my little fifteen minutes of fame.

I hope people listening got something out of it, too. I haven't listened to it myself - but I just feel awkward about it, and don't really want to.

It does make me want to podcast again, though, and really dig into all the things that Kevin and Jenna don't get into. Maybe someday I can talk Snarky into another podcast when we both have time.

For your female ocs she will most likely get along with enri or Ikuna. Because for enri, she doesn't like how others treated her so sometimes she would make her involved in many activities so enri won't feel left out ( she just felt like everybody deserves a genuine friend yk 😔 ) her opinion on enri is she thinks she's fine ( side note mizu actually finds enri pretty cute 🏃‍♀️)

But because I think she is gonna get along with Ikuna is one, she thinks Ikuna is very gorgeous, two, she finds Ikuna cool because of her personality that does not easily give up. She probably trusts Ikuna to show her fish to her.

At the same time she is probably fond of senju too because she finds senju's rebellious personality endearing and cool. And she also likes her taste in fashion.

But as for males, she is probably most likely to interact with ryomie, sunoashi, naoyu, burai and oujirou.

She finds ryomie's pretty interesting because of the magic and stuff, probably tries to stalk him because she wants to get to know him more, but knowing ryomie he's probably pretty aware of this. Doesn't really like him cause he is popular but more to cause she finds him cool.

For sunoashi at first she just wants to know him more because of the mask but overtime she just wanna know him for himself. If anything she would probably join him to do something very dangerous cause this girl jenis yang cari malang 😔 ( and cause it's fun if she can do something dangerous and knowing someone else is also in trouble with her )

She tries to get along with Naoyu just cause she wants to be part of the biology committee smh ( it didn't work and she can just spy on their activities oml )

She likes burai's outgoing nature cause she finds it a lot easier to get along with someone if they are an extrovert. He's probably one of her closest male friends in the school. Still, she somewhat didn't trust him with her fish 🚶‍♀️

Tries to blackmail oujirou once for the fun of it but she quickly changes her mind after finding out he gets bullied by reku. She likes his hair colour too because it and his vibes reminded her of axolotl ( don't be mad he just looks like one 😭 ) probably would try to help him do something to avoid mistakes

Squeezing these two ask from the old blog together because they have the same topic and are about two members of the same group. As for Joshua's ask, it's the first time I tried to get specific info, usually I tend to focus more on their emotional connection and the characteristics of their personalities, but it was fun to try a new approach. I say emotional stability because it seems they're coming out from a bad experience and are in a process of healing. It's possible Mingyu is a "tool", in the sense that his presence is also a way to move on from the past disappointment.

They seem like someone who doesn't expect much from everything.

They might struggle with self-esteem or they might even go as far as thinking they don't deserve anything.

I'm not sure how I feel about this relationship also because I don't feel much on Mingyu's part, I don't know if he's getting anything good from being close to them and I get the feeling he isn't that serious about them.

They might have different personalities, different life styles or a different world view that brings them to many arguments and clashes.

I feel like it’s a relationship that is kinda "forced", like they are together more to keep up appearances rather than because of real love.

For example, they might have been outed, so everyone knows they’re in a relationship. They’d rather act like a happy couple than going through another scandal linked to them breaking up. Or a sudden pregnancy might be involved too.

I don't think this person is getting much benefit from being with Mingyu either, other than the idea that a handsome and successful man is attracted by them.

I think they'll break up eventually.

While I was shuffling, I was asking your questions in my mind and when I asked about their personality, the 8 of pentacles rev fell off the deck, so I’ll just take this card as what defines their personality.

They might be someone who directs all their energy in the wrong direction. Like over-focusing on an aspect and forgetting about everything else. For example, you ask them to hang out together but they’re always busy with something else.

It’s possible that this is an aspect that might cause some conflict. It’s possible this person is very focused on their job, but then neglect their private life.

Joshua might voice this and ask for more quality time.

5 of pentacles reversed is a card that fits this context, it means that something good will come after hardships, so I think this person will be able to find a better management of their time.

As for their job, they give me the vibe of someone who aspired to something big but didn’t achieve that much. If they are an idol, they probably debuted and then got disbanded soon after because they weren't successful. I feel this is what caused that imbalance in their life, they probably started to focus too hard on their job because they’re so ashamed of their failure. It’s possible they still work around in the industry, but behind the scenes.

I feel they don’t know each other yet or they aren’t that close yet. It's hard to say how long it will take for them to get together, but if we stick by the cards, there's two number 5 that appeared, so it might be 5 years. In 5 years, it will be 2028 and 8 is the other number that appears in the cards so idk you might take that as a sign if you want.

It's hard to say where they’re from, but 8 of pentacles and 5 or pentacles are represented as sitting women in my deck, so it gives me a sense of someone stationary, they might be Korean. 5 of wands is represented as men who climb, so they might be from the south of the country and then moved north to Seoul to train and/or work.

Heyy, this is for your “liar, liar” fic lore. I was wondering how Gojo became Megumi’s godfather? Loving the fic btw, so just wanted to know how the family became a family in the fic? Geto too and his daughters. Also Tsumiki - in the Anime she’s Toji’s stepdaughter so what are the relations in this fic? Sorry if this makes no sense I’m operating on 3 hours of sleep but this fic is too good 🤩 An alternate world where they’re all happy and Megumi has a childhood friends to lovers with reader? Count me in.

omg i love answering questions and i love talking about the family dynamic so plS, SEND IN MORE 😭❤️

let's start off with gojo and megumi (my favourite duo in canon and fanon 😋).

just bare in mind that i'm not gonna reveal too much info, mainly 'cause i have a whole other sequel/prequel (idk what to call it because of it's very unique layout) for the whole family situation i have going on here :)

to fit the whole godparent situation better, i had gojo aged up about 2-3 years so that when megumi would be born (2002) gojo would be 17, a fine age to be appointed godfather to a child (even if it is pretty young). so gojo's birth year is 1987.

how did he become a godfather to megumi? it's a stupid way, really, because the family dynamic is a literal joke (you'd have seen this in chapter 3, the airport scene, where literal CHAOS ensues wherever they go). long story short: at mamaguro's work place, where gojo worked for a bit at 17, it involved interacting with kids, like toddler aged kids and so on. she saw this, saw how he was doing pretty well with them, and after forming a bond with him, appointed him as godfather 💀 (without telling toji). and that's it, really. now you might assume that this is why toji hates gojo in the fic, and to some extent, it is, but there is a WHOLE different back story to that which i don't want to dive into just yet, and once the initial fic is done, you'll know :)

as for geto and his daughters, it's even more simpler than gojo and megumi, really. in chapter 2 of ‘liar, liar,’ i mentioned the kfc breakup and how i changed it for the fic. gojo and geto were going to work in a state school because of the whole we-hate-rich-people vibe they have going on (a parallel to the canon-verse where they hate curses and have to protect the weak: here, they're protecting the poor). but geto ends up working at a private school without letting gojo know and he reveals it at kfc 😔 (poor gojo). now why does this relate to mimiko and nanako? geto visits an orphanage, sees mimiko and nanako as vulnerable, weak kids, and then adopts them. simple as. nothing spoiler-worthy here :)

now for tsumiki and toji! this was really difficult for me to decide. you're right, in the anime, she's his stepdaughter, but there's a reason why in the fic, she isn't. instead, she's his goddaughter. initially, i wasn't going to have tsumiki in the fic, but then i remembered how important she is to megumi in canon, and you'll have noticed how i keep canon in the story but change it so there're no curses, killing, or fictional aspects (everything is realistic). if i kept her as toji's stepdaughter, it would have meant that he had relations to her mother, which wouldn't have been bad at all, if mamaguro didn't exist. but she does. because again, this universe is where everyone lives and nobody dies. so he has no relations to tsumiki's mother the way that he had in the anime (sleeping with her for money). but how did he become her godfather? there had to be some relationship if not for that type?

i can't go into too much detail with this. it relates to the whole gojo/toji situation, and therefore contains a lot of spoilers. all you need to know, as of now, is that he became her godfather through her dad, his former best friend. there's a reason why, there's a whole backstory to that and the clan's involvement to it, which will be explained in the sequel/prequel :)

I DID have two last installments in mind as i was planning out how things would go, But i wasn't able to get them to paper before i lost steam--In large part because @unseelie-robynx And I ended up fleshing out the Bad End from Side B And came up with a sort of splinter AU we call the Tyrant Prince AU (for more info click here!) So i had part 5 and part 6 planned out- Part five (Ovation) was going to be about the rest of the Monkie Crew finding out about what was going on with Red

Everyone of course would react differently, Xiaojiao is trying to figure out the practicalities of un-brainwashing someone, Tang is morbidly curious about both Red's mental state and Oblivion itself (Ironically the true difference in Oblivion Classic and the Tyrant Prince timeline is that in TP Freenoodles didn't get together until AFTER Xiaotian went off the deep end into 'mind control is fine actually' but in Oblivion Classic They're long married because there was gonna be a joke about Pigsy threatening to divorce Tang if he tried to use him as a guinea pig for mind control studies) And Pigsy is sure 'mind control' is just Xiaotian not understanding how drugs work and thinks Red's just Suuuppeerrr High, Sandy is most concerned with keeping Red comfortable so when the 'high' fades he won't have TOO Massive a crash.

But Red IS starting to sober up, if slowly, and once more tells Xiaotian he loves him- which Xiaotian asks again for him to stop,

And it's the first time Red's sober enough to say no to him. I never got to this scene but i imagined Red being both THOROUGHLY addicted to the mind control present, but also getting sober enough to know that something's not right. though the only thing he can peice together as not right is that he's not going to pretend like he doesn't 'love' him when he does and that he 'doesnt need oblivion' which his supposedly also does.

And this is the moment where Xiaotian decides he can't pretend to know what's best for Red, OR that he'd be a good anchor for Red to cling to while he gets sober, and he has to just admit defeat and properly deliver him back to his parents.

He explains the situation as best as he can to them, but they don't really trust or believe him, but he hands red over, says they don't have to tell him anything past this point, but for his own peace of mind he'd LIKE to know if Red starts doing better, and just leaves. (doing his best to ignore Red's crying for him and begging not to 'give him' to his parents because 'he belongs to him' and all that)

Which leads into Part 6 which is basically just a one scene epilogue

it's two years since then, the bull family hasn't been seen hide nor hair of excepting one or two sightings of bull clones buying groceries, and Red Son returns to the city, clean for long enough that he still has some questions and tests that need to be done. It's awkward, but Xiaotian agrees to whatever Red Son needs.

It's simple things, asking for Xiaotian's perspective on the whole event, if his Parents DID tell him how he'd been doing (they did not) and asking if he gets the memories of the clones when they destabilize (He does not)

And then ultimately- asks him to order him to do something. anything. Said firmly, said like he EXPECTS him to do it. So he can be SURE he can say no.

Xiaotian obliges, something simple like 'take off your glasses' which is immediately responded to with 'Fuck off Noodle Boy'

They're both pleased.

Red Son states his parents might try to take over the world again, and he'd probably supply them with tech, but he's not sure if he's ready to get back into the fights himself. it feels... wrong, still. That he's not THAT recovered yet. And perhaps when his therapist hears he sort of went rogue for this, he would be scolded for trying to rush the process, but...

there was one more thing he wants to know. Something he NEEDS to know for himself. Because if he doesn't know then he'll spend the rest of his life questioning it.

Xiaotian is about to ask what he means but Red Son rushes up to him-

and Kisses him.

Because he needs to know if that was real, or just another thing the clone did to him.

Admittedly i wanted the result to be ambiguous, Xiaotian pulls away and Red Son immediately fire teleports away, and we switch to his POV, and he's several buildings away, still watching Xiaotian as he looks around for him, looking worried. And Red Son takes a breath, and looks back in the direction he knows the club once was, and heads home with a smile.

the Last line being 'But now he Knew'
