the opinion for today is that john’s never really needed to be fixed and pairing him with any character for the sole purpose of “fixing” him belittles both the character and john himself. john does care a lot for people, but a lot of people want to ‘fix’ him in ships when in reality, he does care. he can be a great boyfriend who understands boundaries ( as shown with kit, for example, and dani ), but he does run away when he thinks that significant other might be in danger because of him and he’s aware of that fact ( like with oliver, in the newer constantine: the hellblazer run ).

is he an asshole? absolutely. but does he need to be ‘fixed’? no. he’s fine. he’s a decent guy, who’s willing to do just about anything for his friends and feels immense guilt if anything happens to them. he’s never needed to be a hero. he doesn’t want to be a hero. don’t force his hand into being one in the dc universe. keep him his little chaotic neutral self. has he saved the world? yes, but it’s more of a “well, no one else was going to do it” mentality and at one point, he only saves the world because there’s a lack of cigarettes and the shipments of cigarettes weren’t coming in, but that’s also because of his “well, i keep saving the world, and it keeps ending. there’s no point anymore”. poor guy, honestly.

anyways, in sum, i don’t like the whole “they can fix him” ships with john. i think it’s demeaning. can someone be with john without needing to fix him please. thanks.

THE AMAZING DIGITAL ARCADE PARTY!

Yeah, that's right, I caved in.

Basically the exact same show except its established lore and setting is more largely inspired by archive compilations of popular vintage arcade games of the 80s and 90s such as Pac-Man’s Arcade Party, as well as the different takes within the sci-fi / fantasy genre by the likes of Wreck-It Ralph, Tron: Legacy, and Infinity Train.

= BACKGROUND (in a nutshell) 💿 =

In an attempt to save their dying business, C&A developed and manufactured the first hybrid arcade game of its own kind that combined other popular arcade games and home console games with virtual reality. However, just as the company’s luck was turning around, numerous lawsuits from game companies by the likes of Nintendo and families were filed against the company for their product, from apparently “ripping-off” Super Mario Bros. in its entirety to causing many children to either inexplicably fall unconscious or suffer from amnesia after the cabinet’s headset was put on. Just then, as C&A announced they’ll be temporarily recalling the product to fix its issues, a shocking discovery was already made by investigators that would soon bring the company to its demise: the game’s AI had gone rogue, and once a human mind dies from losing one of the games in any way, they are either permanently reincarnated as a personified cartoon character of themselves or just straight up die in real-life depending on the outcome.

"Are there any plans to make a full webcomic out of this?" - Uhhhh, mayyybe? I'm not entirely sure, honestly. While there may be a few side comics and artwork from my head I want to get out sometime, I don't really have much plans for this AU that'll be worth telling a full story right now since I feel there is plenty of things that I've yet to figure out and develop in a matter of time, particularly the setting and characters (especially considering the OG show itself has only 2 episodes out as of writing and I only have mobile apps like ibisPaint X to make this all possible at the moment).

"Can I make fanfics and OCs for this AU?" - Of course! I've seen a lot of incredible things from the community, especially in regards to alternate universes, so you're absolutely more than welcome to share whatever's on your mind as long as your heart's in the right place. I can't really guarantee I'll see every bit of it since I do have some personal biz of mine to take care of at any moment, but I'll be happy to reblog them whenever I get the chance. "Are there any canon ships in this AU?" - Yes. Yes, there are. Well, only BunnyDoll (Jax x Ragatha) to be specific. HOWEVER, you are free to ship whoever you want here! Showtime (Caine x Pomni), ButtonBlossom (Pomni x Ragatha), it's all okay. The choice is yours, a romantic buffet! Since the fandom is growing, I feel like it'd be handy to have a list like this. Please note that some of the tags below don't actually exist yet! I just compiled it using my knowledge from previous fandoms.

#東ディバ絵札 (toudiba efuda) - General fanart tag. It's usually frowned upon to upload shippy art on the main tag (no matter what kind. Yes, yume included) so please be careful!

#tkdb夢 (tkdb yume) / #東ディバ夢 (toudiba yume) - General yume tag. Scopes including both Character x default MC and OC x Canon.

#tkdbプラス (tkdb plus) - Often used interchangeably with #tkdb夢. Yume works posted with this tag have the general "sweet romance" feel.

#病みのtkdbプラス (yami no tkdb plus) - For yume works where the canon character is depicted as a yandere / harboring some kind of twisted love for the yume MC. Sometimes used together with #tkdbマイナス tag if the scenario fits.

#tkdbマイナス (tkdb minus) - For yume works that deal with more niche, darker themes generally unsuitable with the positive vibes of plus yume works. Themes vary including but not limited to: forever one-sided feelings, angst, character death, break up, domestic violence, cheating, bad / merry bad endings, gore, etc. Basically if you see works tagged as this, that'd be your Dead Dove: Do Not Eat warning.

#夜のtkdbプラス (yoru no tkdb plus) - General R-18 yume works.

特待生ちゃん (tokutaisei-chan) - Honor Student / The MC. Since Tokyo Debunker MC doesn't have a default name, this is usually how the fans refer to her when talking about her. The canon MC, if you will.

創作特待生 (sousaku tokutaisei) - Original rendition of the Honor Student. Visual design, personality, gender, and backstory may be different to the canon MC.

創作寮生 (sousaku ryousei) - Original (Darkwick) Student that's completely separate from the Honor Student. This term isn't exclusive to Tokyo Debunker so if you only put "創作寮生" on the search bar you'll get OCs from other franchises too (Twisted Wonderland & Harry Potter, to name a few).

Some character x canon MC ship names

冠特 (kamutoku) - Jin x Honor Student

伯特 (hatoku / hakutoku) - Haku x Honor Student

翔特 (shoutoku) - Sho x Honor Student

Those three are currently the only ones popular enough to have people using a dedicated ship names when making works about them. If you want to see the other characters x canon MC ship works, you'll have better luck searching "#tkdb夢 / #tkdbプラス + (character's name)" instead.

As for canon x canon character ships, usually a fandom would create specific 腐 tag for it (like #ツイ腐テ for twst) but since the fandom is still pretty small, I don't think anyone has came up with a proper 腐 tag for Tokyo Debunker. I could've just missed it tho, since I only follow people who post yume and general non-shippy works so feel free to let me know!

For now, you can try your luck by combining the first kanji of two characters' given name. Keep in mind that Japanese fandom is usually much more strict about ship naming tho. AB ≠ BA!

Time for a serious discussion.

It's genuinely upsetting to me how toxic the Hazbin Hotel fandom has been getting in recent months.

At no point should you ship two characters to the point that you send creators death threats because they wrote a Vox x Fem!Reader fic and you ship RadioStatic. Shipping Vox and Alastor because of their currently (mostly) unexplained past is totally cool. I love the fanart. I love the fics.

But the bullying isn't okay. The death threats most certainly are not okay.

Words hurt. And while that may be the intention, everyone handles words differently.

A fanfiction is almost never that serious.

A fanfiction is NEVER worth coming for someone's writing style, personal insecurities, etc. NEVER EVER EVER.

I've seen blogs I've followed for years deactivate their blogs entirely because they got the courage to post their FANTASTIC WRITING and got tons of hate/backlash because there's people out there who believe that RadioApple, RadioStatic, ect. are the only acceptable things to write for.

I've seen blogs go on hiatus for months at a time because someone bullied them for liking and writing for Hazbin Hotel.

It needs to stop.

A whole bunch of you are acting like CHILDREN over a cartoon made for ADULTS, all because of a non-canon ship.

You're on Tumblr, Toots. You're gonna see x reader fics. You're gonna see x oc fics. You're gonna see oc fanart with canon characters. You're gonna see just about everything.

If you want specific fics related to a specific ship, look up the tags for that ship and read those fics but don't degrade someone who put a piece of their soul into a fic all because you think a Samsung TV should fuck a stag instead of the reader.

Do. . . Do you realize how little sense that makes. . ?

Obviously, and every single one will be "revenged"!

Can I get something of another type/quality back? For example, can I get a fully shaded drawing for my sketch, or art for my drabble?

Unfortunately not, as I prefer to always give something of the same type back. There are only the following two exceptions that I AM willing to do:

you do a drabble/oneshot —> I do a sketch

you do any type of art —> I write a drabble/oneshot

Is there anything you refuse to draw/write about?

Deuce ships (other than Deuce x Allen). NSFW. Family x family. Minor x adult. Any ship considered to be problematic.

How do I tell you about the ship I want you to draw/write about for me?

Do you prefer to do OC x canon, canon x canon, or OC x OC?

I have a bias towards OC x canon and canon x canon ships. However, I'm willing to do any ship that's not problematic! In the case of OC x OC, I simply need you to provide information on two OCs instead of one only.

In order to keep things fair, no. But I could include the third party as a plush or chibi head.

Alright I said I'd make a rant post about this and I will because I am tired at this point, skull emoji. I've seen two different Kunidazai shippers talk about this already and, as a Siglai and OC x canon enjoyer, I feel the need to as well based on my own experiences and observations.

BSD fandom (or any fandom for that matter, but this is about BSD), stop making posts about certain ships all about yours. If I see one more person cry about how Nikolai belongs with Fyodor under a Siglai post, or if one more person turns one of my Fyojin (my OC x canon ship, Fyodor and Satsujin) rambles into Fyolai/makes it about them, I will lose my mind. Not everyone likes your ship, get over yourself and stop forcing it down people's throats.

This also applies to when someone says something along the lines of "Oh, I ship [ship], but this is cute/I respect it". No one cares. Can you compliment something without making it about your more popular ship?

And, moreover, if someone says something isn't a ship post they don't want it interpreted as such, respect their wishes. I used to follow a person on Instagram who would post about BSD, and eventually got tired of all the Soukoku shippers turning their posts into ship content when they didn't want people doing that.

As you can guess, this post is mostly directed towards very popular ships like Soukoku, Shin Soukoku, Fyolai, etc (personally I have never seen this situation with other huge ships like Ranpoe, but considering this fandom I am sure it happens). If you ship any of these and feel offended or disturbed by this post, then ask yourself why. Maybe you are part of the problem, and in that case you should work on yourself and learn to not shove things in others faces.

(Also before anyone says "other fandoms are worse", I have been in the trenches of Danganronpa and MHA. I am very aware of that, it doesn't mean I can't be pissed about this)

(Also on this topic I hate when people assume I'm a Fyolai shipper just because I love Fyodor. Please, it is not the only ship out there and I'm literally very vocal about doing OC x canon with my faves)

I just want to update everyone on my thoughts, and ultimately, my decision going forward.

I don't want to feel miserable when I write. I don't want to feel guilty when I see everyone having fun, doing my best to "catch up".

While I will write a response for my Sweet Dreams mini event (as so many people have responded to their invitations), I ask that no more content be made for them. They were a wonderful ship, and a joy to think about, but this isn't what I want for myself, or Lydia.

I want a ship that I truly love, with characters I adore. I want to be happy, to gush about my faves and my ships without worry of pleasing others.

From now on, I will be focusing on my own happiness, and making the ships I want. I will take measures to ensure my happiness and comfort, such as blocking those like my ex-friend (people who compare or belittle the OC x Canons of others).

Lydia will be shipped with Idia and Trey, either separately or in a love triangle. If you're not ok with that, please feel free to block me. Likewise, for my own comfort, I may not interact much with other OC x Canon content featuring Idia or Trey (due to past experiences). This doesn't mean we can't be friends/mutuals, or that I don't support your ship! They deserve all the love (especially Trey) lol ♡ This is just for my own comfort and peace of mind, and (hopefully) a temporary decision.

Note: This is not referring to the ships of my friends/mutuals, like Jan's Diya. This is moreso referring to people/ships I'm unfamiliar with (so I apologize if I don't interact with your posts ♡)
