Undertale Yellow True Pacifist spoilers //

things i noticed.

Around 3:13 in the UTY OST “Gift”, it starts to slow down a bit. In the last ten seconds of the song, I think it sounds a lot like the track “Good Night” from Undertale. But while Good Night ends on that final note, Gift doesn’t. It stops right before that note, ending in silence.

It’s a peaceful ending for Clover, but one they had to sacrifice themselves for. it’s not an ending where everyone is happy or free, but it is the happiest they could have gotten. just one step, one note away from that happiness- one SOUL away.

Another thing- we hear the track “Undertale” in New Home, while learning about the story and memories of Asriel and Chara. but “Undertale Yellow” is a *credits* track. in true pacifist we never make it to new home- we never get that far, because it wasn’t meant to be. instead we see the stories of the friends we made along the way as they were changed by our journey, and *we* become the memory that is preserved through our friends.

Hey, so it turns out we’ve been living with two gas leaks in our house for an unknown amount of time and we need to replace our entire furnace unit. There are people coming on Thursday to do it.

We are taking out a line of credit to get it done because for our safety we have to, but the interest is significant.

I feel like I’m asking for a miracle, but if I can sell 2000 ebooks or 500 audiobooks of Hunger Pangs through my Payhip, that would cover it. You can also gift people copies through Payhip gifting system or by donating to the donate pile so I can run giveaways.

The water heater still needs replaced but that leak has been addressed safely and is no longer slowly killing us.

One of my favorite choices the Apothecary Diaries made was making the Emperor a “normal guy” (as far as I know as an anime-only). He’s not evil. He’s not hindering Mao Mao’s journey. He respects the concubines.

If anything his lack of autonomy and presence as the most powerful person in the country further enhances the show’s themes of working within the confines of class and gender inequality.

The previous emperor was a horrible, horrible pervert. Okay, then this emperor only weds women of age… Until he’s forced to take his father’s precious wife due to politics. The current emperor reasonably avoids her.

Eunuchs exist? Bam! now the surgery is outlawed, but this will create a reduction in male labor around the palace.

The emperor clearly favors few women. Well, now he must recognize a concubine with a powerful politician father playing the system.

He supports Mao Mao toeing the line of social expectations for women, but hasn’t removed the law against women preparing medicine. It makes one think, if he wanted to, could he make the change at all? For every two steps forward, he’s forced to take one step back.

In this universe even the Emperor is limited by social pressure and the expectations of his station. His life and that of his children is out of his control, and if that isn’t such a compelling piece of world building I don’t know what is.

If that’s how the author twists the narrative of the Emperor you better believe her female characters dealing with women’s issues in this society are even better written.

Okay see now I’m thinking about c!Dream pathetically stumbling into my head covered in injuries, in his torn prison jumpsuit, smearing blood all over the floor and my emotions being like, “What the fuck!” (look my head ain’t PG lol) as they watch behind him as Pandoras’s Vault forms into a new island. Sadness catches c!Dream as he falls forward from exhaustion and Joy at first, is a little disturbed by the bleeding man coated in scars. C!Punz and c!Techno appear a few seconds later, right behind the group and the emotions are suprised to find swords at their throats, “Don’t touch Dream!” C!Punz says pointing his sword at Sadness, who’s struggling under the weight of the grown man, and Joy who is trying to help her hold c!Dream up. Then they are all startled when Quackity appears behind c!Punz and c!Techno, in front of c!Dream, holding an axe dripping blood onto the floor. “I believe you have something of mine?” He says maliciously, staring at c!Dream like a hungry vulture. C!Dream flinches, glaring back at c!Quackity like a challenge, and c!Punz and c!Techno turn around to aim their swords at c!Quackity instead. Behind him, Embarrassment is trying to mop up the blood trail he left on the floor, and c!Tommy and c!Sam are being shoved out of the room by Anger and Disgust. Ennui, who was focused in on the screen and panel, finally turns around, bringing hands to her hips, “Now what do we have here?”…

friendly advice from vetmed: I know that when your animal has an infection that is generating a lot of discharge, you want to describe that to the veterinarian, because it’s a concerning sign. that is true. I also know that the most common word for this type of discharge is “pus,” so it’s logical that that’s the word that you’ll use when describing what’s going on. and in English, we often add a “-y” when we’re using a word as a descriptor.

I’d really like to rant more about how our society establishes hierarchical tiers of love and devalues platonic love and how this impacts ace people but I have no idea where to start because it’s such a complex topic, especially in fandom spaces, and how the “it’s platonic” angle was used in history to devalue and dismiss other queer interpretations, especially gay and lesbian relationships. So of course people in queer spaces get cautious when a platonic interpretation is brought up, because it reminds them of decades of bigots insisting they’re wrong, sinful, etc for interpreting them as romantic, and platonic is the only “right” interpretation. Not only that, we are still in a tumultuous climate with LGBTQ+ rights constantly on and off the ballot, and people still fear coming out of the closet not only due to the legal discrimination but the harassment they may face. Thus, it is imperative that we destigmatize queer relationships, that we encourage them to make queer people feel safe and supported.

I believe that we are absolutely capable of achieving that while also creating a space for acespec people that doesn’t devalue friendship. “Their relationship is ‘more than’ friendship,” is upsetting as an ace person to hear because friendship, to me, is the ultimate and absolute tier of love, support, and joy. There is no higher connection. And just because I don’t experience romantic love doesn’t mean that it doesn’t matter, but I want to elevate friendship to that same tier of importance our society sets for romance. I ask that we reevaluate our viewpoint of friendship and not push it aside as if romance and friendship can’t be as important to each other.

Basically, this is a long winded way of asking people to not say, “There is no platonic explanation for that.”
