here is the thing that I feel like a lot of people need to realize. Sometimes people just suck and you don’t like them. Sometimes people are mean and annoying and shitty and it is not because of the demographics they are a part of, but who they are as an individual. This is not, to be very clear, to say that we should scale back talk of systemic biases and how they affect our smaller interactions with each other and the world especially when it’s a topic that is only just beginning to reach the mainstream political discourse. That is not what I am talking about. But I think this growing obsession some of us have with moralizing all of our likes and dislikes is a) dangerous and b) embarrassing, because it leads to otherwise very intelligent people starting to genuinely behave as if “non-binary person named leaf who has the toothpaste mlm flag in their bio and draws vivziepop yaoi” is a coherent and meaningful social demographic that we all need to be aware of.

I very badly wanted Jo to have a hashtag feminism arc where she latched onto Poppy and acted as her assistant... the power would go to Poppy's head and Jo would slowly absorb pieces of Poppy's terrible personality and they would both get worse... yeah I would have liked that a lot I think :)

still nutty to me how people's legit trauma from things that main characters do are just swept under the rug or mocked. william kaplan, a thirteen year-old boy who didn't do anything, is killed in a car accident and no one even knows because billy/teen took over his body (i'm not blaming him at all i doubt it was on purpose, but a boy did die and no one knows). sharon davis was roped along to the road, mocked the entire time, killed, and then mocked some more. ralph bohner is the closest we get to someone actually saying "what happened was a nightmare and it fucked me up," but even his story is full of jokes that are only made tragic because evan peters is delivering them in such a way that it's clear that it's because he's that mentally unhinged from what happened. the mcu is a place where people get hurt and are made fun of because they couldn't stop it
