“Him? He is truly a kitsune. But he cares a lot about everyone and willing to risk everything to have his goal of his. He is also the one who taught me how to wield a blade and told me to be a kunoichi, a female ninja. It did took awhile to prove my worth to the Oda but I did it. Even some people say I’m almost like him since they don’t know what we are thinking but way more expressive.”

“He is more over an older brother to me and my adopted siblings. We do love to make upcoming battle plans with the information I get but most of the time we just read books. We work under Hideyoshi and some of my siblings do so, we just have a sibling gathering moment.”

“The spicy lover guy… let’s say that things between us is weird. We may specialize in medicine but for him, it’s more over like something he needed to learn to help himself. Despite that weird sense, we do work well together but, he should be more straight over with this words as first time people may think he is serious.”

“He was gone for a while till he came back to warn about Kicho plan, which unfortunately succeeded. But he is a fun guy to be around, although there was some times I saw right through him with that false persona of his. He did confronted me about it but I promised I won’t say a word about it to the others.”

“When I first saw him, he almost reminded me of someone who I had met before. Soon after he became one of Nobunaga’s pages, he came to me to talk about how things go on in the Oda as I am a source for many. It still doesn’t make it better when I feel like something is off about him when I tell him what goes on in the Oda.”

“I know he is a warlord the moment I saw him in Echigo with Sasuke and Morgan. But I kept it a secret as there was probably no need to share it. Despite him saying things he didn’t mean to, he’s a good guy. But I would rather not come across him on the battlefield. I don’t think I would kill him if I did…”

Kanetsugu

“The main strategist for Kenshin Useugi. He is one to not be underestimated by any means. I would like to test my theory about him, but after I found out the debt he owes to Kenshin. I dropped that test quickly as he already went through enough. He may consider himself as a monster due to him killing that noble in self defense but of course, in this time period; kill a noble, you are convicted automatically. But I do hope someday he will understand that he isn’t one when he comes across that important person.”

Sasuke

“Ninja buddies 4 life. I may had been transported here years before him and Morgan. But I’m glad he adjusted to the circumstances here since war is common here. I did ran across him when he spied on the Oda for the first time, but I let him be since he pose no threat to anyone at the time. We did ran across each other again in Echigo with Yuki and Morgan, I will never forget those times. Just being friends and confusing Yuki with our modern language. Thinking about it makes me remember how much fun we had casting aside our circumstances to just enjoy life.”

“That guy… he became nothing more than a husk of himself after that battle. I saw his battles before, but it’s like deep down he didn’t want to fight but had no choice to keep fighting. “I met Kicho before, it was before he betrayed the Oda. I felt off when he disappeared out of nowhere, only to find out that he went to the future. Nobody but me and siblings knows about it. We did plan to tell Sasuke and Mai, but we held back as I know Kicho can find out about us not being in this period. Let alone I don’t want to risk my true identity to be exposed by him.”

“I felt bad for her when she came across Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Mitsuhide. I did came to her defense with reasons that she had many chances to leave Nobunaga in that moment but she didn’t. But I was shocked when she dashed off into the forest. Only to see her in the castle, if I have to guess, she is a strange person but welcoming nonetheless. I do ask her to make kimonos for me time to time.”

Morgan ( @morgan-squad )

“Morgan and I came across each other when they were still residing in Echigo under the protection of Kenshin. Their reaction finding out about me being part of the Oda was funny to watch. I did had a long talk with them about my duties and position in the Oda Forces. But finding out a group of ronins attacked them… let’s just say, I made sure those ronins didn’t forget the consequences of hurting someone I cared about. :)”

“She came to the Castle out of nowhere, but I welcome her to the family. I do sometimes drag her in my pranks but we do get some good laughs out of it. She may act all gentle but she is more capable to put up a fight. All three of us were trained by Mitsuhide, and man it wasn’t easy. Rubia ask Mitsuhide because she didn’t want to be the only to not know how to wield a sword.”

“J is one that is nice. She was in a middle of a custody dispute between Shingen and Hideyoshi. But she was able to solve it by allowing both of them be her legal guardians or parents I should say. Hydrangeas played an important role in having this conflict between the Oda and Takeda in private matters. I have respect for her not only because she made the conflict to be private but, also because she showed that she is a capable leader; one who has the power to negotiate and achieve results that doesn’t require bloodshed.”

Kyoutani hadn’t spoken a word since Yuuji died.

Honestly, Hajime had been kind of grateful when the blonde had yelled at Bokuto, even though it was a shitty thing to do, because it had been something.

But after that, he hadn’t said anything.

The night they got back, they took anything that could be used as a weapon from Kyoutani’s room, and Oikawa announced that the man wouldn’t be going on any missions for the next…undefined stretch of time. He was almost constantly under supervision, and he stayed in his room most of the time.

Hajime was…worried, to say the least. But he figured the man would get better eventually.

He hoped so.

He didn’t want anything else to do with anything. He didn’t want anything to do with living, itself.

They were smart to take away his things. Even smarter to ban him from missions.

If he could open his mouth to speak, he’d probably beg Hajime to kill him. But he couldn’t muster up the energy.

He couldn’t muster up the energy to do anything but lay in bed and stare at his ceiling. The first week, his heart felt like it was going to eat him from the inside out.

Hajime and Tooru wouldn’t leave him alone, though. They were worried.

Maybe they should be.

This wasn’t fucking fair. It should’ve been Bokuto.

Or maybe it should’ve been him. But since it wasn’t, this was his punishment.

The words of his mother echoed in his head, clear as day, and it was what dragged him through the dirt day after day.

“Life is unfair. Kill yourself or get over it.”

The ceiling for who knew how long. Hajime talking to him with worry clear in his tone, Hanamaki or Matsukawa trying, too. Tooru popping in to bring him something and spend some time with him.

It would probably have helped ease the hurt if it didn’t make it swell more and more.

He didn’t know how much time had passed. Eventually, though, the fighting started. Hajime would walk out and Tooru would mumble something. Iwaizumi would reply incredulously, and Oikawa would get defensive. They’d get angry, whisper-yell at each other, then one would start to cry, and the other would soothe them and walk them away from his room.

Life is unfair. Kill yourself or get over it.

If he only got the option, he knew what he would pick. But maybe he was already dead.

He felt like it, anyway.

“Your hair has grown out some,” Hajime noted. “Do, um…I could cut it for you, again.”

The offer was gentle. More gentle than his big brother normally was towards anyone.

He simply looked at him. He wouldn’t mind either way. He would hardly count himself as being in his body.

“Just, promise me you won’t take the razor and try to do anything, please?”

He tried to nod, but he hardly had the energy to.

“I trust you,” the brunette said after a few moments, and then came back with an electric razor. The brute made small talk as he worked on Kyoutani’s hair.

“You know, I love you,” Iwa murmured. “You’re a good kid. Anyways, what do you think of your hair? I did the sides a bit different, but I think they look cool.”

He was turned to face the mirror in the corner. His hair was shorter than normal, and there were tiny stars shaved into the sides. It looked nice.

His face gave the barest of twitches, but it made Hajime light up. He couldn’t fathom why. The brunette hugged him, those biceps flexing with how tightly.

“We’re gonna be okay, Kyou. I don’t know how, but we will. That’s a promise.”

Hajime didn’t break promises.

If only he could believe it.

Koutarou was off of bed rest in a few weeks, and they quickly discovered that the wounds on his arms wouldn’t stop bleeding. Ever. Which fucking sucked.

He couldn’t sleep without a gun, most nights. And he couldn’t even think about sleeping without doing three patrols around the base. Keiji couldn’t leave his side for too long without getting anxious, either.

But it was okay.

They were getting over it, he figured.

But then again, nothing could stay okay forever, could it?

If the main cast died in their first trials who do you think would be most willing to cooperate with the group and who do you think would probably pull a Mai and try to kill their partners?

Also how do you think they’d react to being dead and having to cope with being living dolls. (Also IK Shins trial was death-proof or whatever but let’s just say he tripped on his scarf and died or something ☠️)

Those I think would be willing to cooperate: Joe, Kanna, Reko, Mishima, Gin, Alice, and Kai.

Those I think wouldn't be: Keiji, Q-Taro, Shin, and Nao,

Depends on how you player her: Sara (I think this depends on whether you consider the emotion or the logic/massacre route your personal canon.)

As for how they'd react:

Sara Chidouin - I think Sara would be devastated, but not fully for herself. She see's everyone dead around her, including her best friend, and wonders if she could've done more. If she was stronger and survived, maybe she could have found a way to keep everyone else alive as well. I think she'd cope with being a doll by overcompensating in her protectiveness of the others. She'd try to "right her wrongs" and bring herself nothing but poor mental health in the process.

Joe Tazuna - Joe can't believe that he came back, but he's even more shocked that his steel minded best friend also didn't make it. His main concern is making sure she's okay through this situation, and while he thinks about betraying his partner to escape the game and be a simple teenager again, in the end his heart is kind and he can't.

Gin Ibushi - Gin is devastated when he finds out he's dead. He really wants to get back to his Mother, or at the very least find a way to tell her he's okay...kinda. However his goals shift and he ends up being someone for the dolls and participants to protect. Regardless if he's destroyed or deactivated one of the participants make sure to tell Gin's Mother how much he loves her.

Keiji Shinogi - I think Keiji would be far more distraught then he'd show. He believes that he needs to live with his "sin for a life" to atone for shooting Mr. Policeman. So to be dead without any of his in game growth probably wouldn't sit well with him. I do think that he'd possibly be willing to kill his partner and live depending on who he was paired with, but I think his arc would be similar to Naomichi's where he learns to care for the others.

Alice Yabusame - Alice is more upset about Reko dying than anything else. He swears to avenge her, but is soon torn between helping the participants take down Sou for vengeance or stopping them, so Reko stays safe. In the end, he cooperates with everyone to help those still living. In a way, it gives him some closure for his crime.

Reko Yabusame - Reko is shocked to have died so soon, and very distraught that her life on stage was cut short after all she did for the career she loved. However she can't do something drastic to take that life back. After all, Reko could never hurt a friend.

Nao Egokoro - Nao devested to learn she died, and is torn on what to do as a doll. She doesn't want to betray anyone, but laying down and dying doesn't sit well with her when she has so much to do. Eventually she resolves herself to try and escape, and I think she has the most chance of being successful.

Kazumi Mishima - Mishima holds it together because he can see how distressed Nao is about the situation. He puts on his best smile and encourages everyone to get along together. He even guides the participants and gives them some pretty good advice. He copes with being a doll by trying to be a rock for the others. It's what comes most naturally to him.

Q-taro Burgerberg - I actually think we know exactly how Q-Taro's development would go if he were a doll! I think we've seen it in Mai. She has his selfish and survival oriented tendencies before his development, and ends up stabbing him because of it. I think Q-Taro would end up stabbing his partner for a chance to survive, but end up as a loyal ally to the participants.

Kai Satou - I think that Kai would be extra determined to get the doll Sara home at bare minimum. I don't think that his own safety would be at the top of his mind, so he wouldn't attack his partner since it doesn't help Sara in any way. Also I think Kai would be so determined to finish his goal he wouldn't dwell on being dead...also partially because he doesn't want to think about it.

Kanna Kizuchi - I think Kanna would make her peace with the situation the fastest. Especially if Kugie didn't make it out alive. I think her main goal would be to cooperate with everyone, and she wouldn't have any bad blood with her partner. I think her arc as a doll would be learning to want to live, and you'd be able to save her in the banquet.

Shin Tsukimi - I think he'd freak out so bad. Shin believes that he's destined to die at any second, so to be dead before even getting out of the gates would impact him terribly. I think he'd be the worst version of himself in this AU, loosing all hope that he can survive without desperate measure's. Though I do think it would be interesting if he ended up offering himself up in the banquet to ensure Kanna's safety.

oikawa tooru

-like sakusa, he is dedicated to his volleyball- you know about it, your neighbour knows about it, your pet knows about it, his fans know about it, and probably the whole world knew just how much oikawa tooru is in love with volleyball.

-it's his lifeline.

-sure, you understood his passion for the sport, after all you fell in love with him at a game, where you sat on shiwatorizawa's side, yet you were cheering for the boy whose serves could kill a person.

-but sometimes, things can get way out of the boundary for oikawa tooru when it came to the topic- with countless training and staying back just to practice more, the gymnasium was basically his home, and you were just his second.

"y/n, i thought you understood how much i love volleyball."

"i do tooru, i really do, and i am more than happy that you achieved what you want. but what about me tooru? do i still have a place in your life, tooru?"

"you're my partner, y/n, of course, you have a place in my life, we live under the same roof."

"but isn't that it tooru? we only share the same roof and bed, but how long has it been since we went without talking to each other just because you were never home, can you even count the days since we have actually looked at each other for more than a good second?!"

he sighed at your outburst, what has gotten into you? you had never complained on how much time he spent on volleyball, but now you are?

"y/n, let's talk about it this another day, I'm too damn tired to deal with you right now, at least try to understand someone who has to work all day unlike you."

-as he retreated to the bedroom, you went to the balcony. he had given you no chance to talk with him about the issue, simply shrugging it off like it was not a big deal to him.

-of course, it wasn't, you scoffed. why did he even keep you around when he was content with just having volleyball in his life, it's not like he was even around anymore.

-you dialed your best-friend, talking to them about the decision you were going to make.

"i think i am going to break up with tooru... it's just if everything is going on like this, i don't think it's any different from just staring at him from afar... I'm just tired, really tired of just how lonely i feel in the relationship mei. i think it's for the best."

-it didn't take oikawa more than a second to flee to you at that very moment, hugging you from behind as he snuggled his head into your neck, visibly sniffling and wetting your skin from his tears.

-my man's head over heels in love with you, so it breaks his heart to hear you say that your daily life was almost void of him.

-he couldn't blame you though, you were spitting straight facts like it was your profession.

-he could feel his guilt weighing down on him, as realization sinks on how he could've lost you if he were just another second too late- this only made his tears flood your shirt, as he muttered, "please don't leave me y/n." like a broken record on repeat.

-he should've paid more attention to you, and only now when he was on the verge of losing you, did he know just how much you meant to him.

akaashi keiji

-my man's friendly and kind to everyone, but sometimes he tends to be more friendly than necessary- and it got to the point where he would choose his friends over you, or that's what you thought.

- you sometimes wonder if your life was a cliche: falling in love with a gorgeous boy, him returning your feelings, being the perfect couple that everyone admired, and his childhood best friend who he miraculously had feelings for earlier in his life barging into your relationship.

- sure, you were insecure about how much time they spent together after meeting, especially since he almost made little to no time for you.

-you missed him, craved for his presence, and just want to get him back, even though he was still yours. you had made attempts to talk to him about how you didn't like how much time he was spending with them, but he had always shrugged it off with how they were no more than his friend, and that your worrying was useless.

-it was still okay and all, until he urgently left the lunch date you had planned for weeks, getting a reservation at this hefty dining point, just because his best friend was in dire need of help.

-you forced a smile at him, "alright keiji, drive safe okay?"

-you fumbled with the food you had on your plate, losing appetite, though you were looking forward to this date for so long. you called for the bill, giving them your credit card as you prepared to leave.

-akaashi was tired, as he unlocked his front door he thought about how all he wanted to do was cuddle you before drifting off to sleep. as the front door clicked open, he saw you wrapped up in a blanket as you trained your eyes onto the TV in front of you, not even paying any mind to him entering the apartment.

"hey honey, I'm back."

-you just nodded at his notice, not losing focus on the show you were watching. and of course, akaashi being akaashi immediately knew something was off- you were not excited to see him like you usually were, nor did you get up and give him his usual welcome kiss.

“y/n? what’s wrong?”

“nothing keiji, everything’s fine.”

“no y/n, tell me what’s wrong.”

“it’s not like you are going to listen to me anyways keiji, you are always prioritizing them, my words are just meaningless to you.”

-ah, it was about this again, akaashi thought, he honestly was starting to question on just how many times he has to assure you and tell you that they were nothing more than just friends. why would he run to another when he already had you in his life?

“I told you y/n. they don’t mean anything to me anymore, I have you now.”

“that’s always what you say keiji, but you keep going to them when I’m right in front of you, it’s then you keep running back to, not me.”

-it went on back and forth, slowly turning from a small bicker to a huge argument where akaashi let his anger take control of him.

“YES I’M IN LOVE WITH THEM. ARE YOU CONTENT NOW? THAT’S WHAT YOU WANTES TO HEAR RIGHT?”

-thinking that he was in love with them was one thing, but hearing him spit out those words from his mouth was another. despite doubting him for a while, you knew they were nothing more than friends to him, it was simple just your insecurity, but as the words slapped you in the face, you couldn’t help but run to the bedroom to gather your belongings.

“hey ken, can i please stay at your house for a while? it’s just… i can’t live with someone who doesn’t love me anymore.”

-akaashi never said that to you, he has never uttered how he didn’t love you anymore, yet what he had bursted out earlier, meant exactly that.

-he had to apologize to you, it was now or never.

“y/n, I’m so sorry,” he started, as he put a hand on your relentless packing, trying to get you to listen to his words, “i shouldn’t have said that no matter how angry I got, cause y/n.. you are the only one that makes my heart feel like it’s going to burst everytime. have always been, still is and will always be.”

-he grabbed your heart to put on his beating heart, the thumping only increasing with every passing second.

-you looked up at his desperate eyes, staring at those ocean blue eyes that seemed to suck you in with every plea he sent.

-you hated just how weak you were to akaashi keiji, you hated just how much he knew how to make your heart shake, yet you were still heads over heels for him for the same reasons.

As I enter to the hospital with Hina we saw Takemichi walking to our way, with tears on his eyes. Hina, his beautiful girlfriend, ran to him asking him the same question What happened?

Until Mikey was with us, I can finally understand, she is death, Emma-chan is gone. Why? Why? I promised her to protect her and here I am, with tears in my eyes and nothing else to do.

And as Draken start walking to us he saw me with some confused eyes, I don't blame him, Toman knew me by always controlling my emotions and now that I explode was weird.

I can't, I can't hear his voice, knowing exactly that Emma, the girl I loved, was having a crush on him. Knowing that she always talked about how sad she feel because he didn't loved her back, knowing that I was the replacement to that broken heart of her.

i genuinely don’t know which character was the catalyst for this or if it was just a giant trainwreck of all of them happening at the same time, but most of the mess that is 3b’s writing can be attributed to the fact that nankidai couldn’t settle on a chapter villain. i’ve already voiced my complaints with the walking wasted development that was the dolls, and i’m sure that they contributed to this, but nankidai couldn’t find a solid tone or theme for this chapter and that’s because he was trying to do multiple things at once.

throughout the majority of the story, we’ve had roughly two villains/villain figures at the same time: the floormasters who are working outside the group, and shin, who’s been working inside of the group. part of the reason that 2-2 was so great is that it resolved a lot of the mysteries around who shin was and why he was acting the way that he did- it had been an ongoing conflict escalating since chapter 1, and when everything came together it was gorgeous and did wonders to humanize shin as a character. then, if you save kanna, he affirms that he was still a good person after all and that even if he is proving the survival statistics right, he’s going out to save the people he loves.

except there’s an ending where shin is still alive and now you have a character whose arc has been immaculately resolved who you still have to keep alive for another chapter. it’s ok, though, because shin is understandably furious at sara for killing kanna and his plan is to take out his revenge on her. but then you encounter a big problem, which is that you need to stretch out this villain arc (which has already been playing out across the entire game) for another chapter. this isn’t feasible; it’s gonna get repetitive at some point. but don’t worry, you’ve been building the game up to introduce the next floormaster, a character who’s supposedly so terrifying that the mere mention of him sends shin into a panic: midori.

at first, this seems like a good idea: bits and pieces of evidence from the last two chapters have been alluding to midori being a terrible person. however, as scary as the story seems to think it’s making him, midori has no real presence as the villain he’s written to be. by all means, he should have killed keiji- he outlined specific guidelines under which keiji would live or die, they failed to meet those guidelines, and keiji should have died. but instead of killing him, midori gives them the time to find the controls to shut the coffin off (which ends up taking ages for the participants even if you’re a fast player) and assigns no consequences to anything they do. he then spends most of the chapter standing in random places and occasionally being an annoyance before dying at the banquet. even then, by the rules midori logically should have won the banquet, but instead he conceded and allowed the participants to win and got himself killed. when the other floormasters in prior chapters have set out to kill someone, they’ve meant it. as underhanded as it was, the participants in chapter 1 were given a chance to save everyone in the preliminary vote. but they didn’t find the sign, so mishima died. ranger even went out of his way to kill alice despite alice technically doing nothing wrong. the floormasters have not been moderate with their viciousness, and yet midori, the man who’s supposedly been killing and torturing people for fun since he was a child, is lenient with his killings. midori has almost no narrative presence as a villain despite how much he’s been set up to be one.

this is where ranmaru comes in, because he’s the only actual threat to the group. the only one to kill a human member of the group is another fucking group member. and it wasn’t shin, whose character arc had been developing for three chapters, it was a kid who had started out completely fine and snapped after being reminded he wasn’t human and having sara whisper in his ear. ranmaru’s actions were definitely rushed and felt cheap, but they are so much worse when compared to midori and shin, who had more motives and capabilities than ranmaru and still ended up accomplishing less than him.

and then there’s shin, who was barely a presence in this chapter. arguably it’s because he fears midori, but this argument seems weak when the story fails to depict midori as something to be feared. midori is a weird enigma at most but all of his atrocities are too cartoonish to be taken seriously. shin promises that his first goal is to take out midori and then move on to sara, but midori is never actually enough of a threat for shin to confront him. shin never gets a big moment where he stands up to the man who has made his life hell for years, he just sits behind the girl who killed his sister as she deals the death blow that they barely earned.

this was a long rant but i think that the failures of 3b’s villains are inherently intertwined- they were all trying to compensate for each other and ended up undermining each other in the process and generally we ended up with a messy, nonsensical story that lacked impact

Fantasy on Ice Makuhari 2022 Day 3 - Impressions

After a full day, I have finally processed what I've watched - FaOI Makuhari 2022 Day 3 - live broadcast.

From the previously released photos of Day 1, I had such high expectations to have sooo many camera-focused Yuzu moments - while that did not come true, the center-Yuzu shots we got were so endearing. I was smiling so hard from the campiness of it all, starting with the traditional FaOI introduction.

Back when I was "learning" about who Yuzuru Hanyu is, I stumbled upon recordings of previous FaOI & other ice shows - I distinctively remember there was this one video where the announcer introduces Yuzu, and he starting jumping when the announcer goes "Yuzuru" - and lands on "Hanyu". I was never able to identify from which ice show that was - and while the intro music of FaOI was playing and moment for Yuzu got closer, I kept on thinking maybe he does it now. AND YUZU DID! "Yuzuru" *jumps* "Hanyu" *lands*. (Sound On)

I was smiling so hard. And then that camera-work. Thank you, Yuzu, for making even the people behind the screen feel seen (I haven't realized until now that the people watching the cinemas saw a huge Yuzu doing this.)

The whole J-Disco number was so fun to watch and in the panned out shots my eyes kept drifting towards Yuzu's spot - not necessarily because I was specifically looking for him, but because he seemed to put his heart and soul into that choreography, as always. He simply was more into it that everyone else. Oh, that MJ circle-moonwalk thingy at the beginning of Afternoon Parade ... so smooth, so cool.

The other skaters were all so fun to watch, but, not gonna lie, Nobu killed it with his Kinky Boots program. Kaori was such a joy to watch, Mai too with her killer 2Ts. Keiji, loved both his programs. What the hell was that Swan parody thing? How am I supposed to watch Notte Stellata now without flashbacks to this parody?!

Yuzu's Real Face! The moment I've been waiting for since the first pics dropped. That program is so wild and crazy and angsty and full of great moves and expression even though it's rough around the edges - but the beauty of it lies in its rawness. Not gonna lie, that water cup moment felt a bit underwhelming because he poured it on his hair instead of face, but it's okay, it was still iconic. (And what do you mean, Yuzu, that you had no idea what would happen when you poured water on you like that?? That us, poor fans, would simply nod along and move on from it?? You knew very well we'd go crazy!)

About the elements from the program - that besti squat is on equal footing if not above the casual spread eagle (for reference, here).

Yuzu's 3A is a monster jump and when performed with anger, it is the king of jumps. That pistol lunge, I so wish we'd seen it from the front and not the back (damn it, Asahi TV cameramen, do a better job). Once more I've been reminded that Yuzu has amazing spins.

That ending pose and the change in attitude - whiplash!!

I felt a change of energy from him when he came back for the finale - and noticed that there was no black bracelet on his right arm. I swear that everytime I saw that bare wrist I kept wondering why my gaze was drawn there. Turns out, Yuzu tossed his bracelet along with the infamous water cup, but all good - he found it afterwards, we have photo confirmation of that.

The finale, even with the bracelet-hiccup, was fun to watch - Kaori: a ray of sunshine - the artist's voice was so good and it was fun to watch the light choreography. Still, those feather things - they remind me of Furbies for some reason. Oh, and check this out: I swear I almost did one heart in return.

I did not want the show to end - but it ended in the best possible way: 4T3A2T1Lo1Lo1Lo (the loops with rippon arms -> they are now called Yuzu-fairy jumps).

Yuzu fist-bumping everyone, his cuteness when he did the heart arms with Elladj was killer. And, of course, the traditional ARIGATO GOZAIMASHITA! What an experience.

I am so looking forward to the next live broadcast and to the recorded ones as well. My first time watching FaOI and it paid off!

Soon, they reached the top of the staircase where there was a very dark hallway. Sou continued walking behind everyone until the area was big enough for the group to stand side by side. He looked ahead, trying to find the source of light in this room only to see a gravestone.

"is that…"

"a gravestone? Yeah, I think it is." Sou responded to Sara. Sara looked back at him in surprise. He decided not to glance back. The others began to speculate what the room was for. Alice speculated it might be a metaphor for death and frankly, Sou agrees.

What else would it be for-

Another light suddenly opened, revealing a coffin. Sou let Sara inspect and open it. He could tell it wouldn't be good. He watched as Sara's eyes turned from confusion to shock as she let everyone else take a peek inside.

Sou's eyes widened.

The same scarf, the black suit, the same green hair.

Shin felt sick to his stomach. His head began to spin and his throat began to tighten as a slew of memories came back to him.

It was the real Sou Hiyori.

Sara shut the coffin and opted to look at another one that just revealed itself beside his old friend. Shin didn't know what to say. he saw a man he didn't know, lying just the way the real sou was.

He looked…dead.

Soon, more and more lights began to open, revealing more coffins, five more to be exact. Sara opened and inspected each one, each one revealed a new person. Sou didn't know who they were and he didn't intend to find out. He stood behind the group, keeping his mouth shut.

Finally, Sara went back to the first coffin and opened it, trying to see if she can get something out of it only for her to pull away with a scream.

Shin jumped as the other coffins began to shuffle and move, the lights began to flicker and shut. Shin's eyes flickered back to see the once dead Hiyori step out of the coffin.

"Nice to meet you, Sara."

Shin covered his mouth, hoping and praying that Hiyori wouldn't notice him as he basked in everyone's surprise.

"gather around everyone! You too, shin, come on!" he said childishly, ushering the others closer. Nobody moved. The green-haired man pouted before giving way to the other people who got out of their respective coffins.

Hiyori called them the dummies.

After the quick explanation, Shin's collar began to beep, leading a red line to his dummy partner. A man with blue hair and a large physique. He stood close to him but decided not to engage with him. His eyes wandered around, watching as everyone began to get partnered up. Sara got partnered up with this white-haired teen, Keiji got paired up the snarky middle schooler, gin was paired up with the nervous guy with glasses, q-taro was with this wonderful brown-haired woman, Alice was paired with the girl with the familiar hood, and you-

Wait, where were you?

"looking for someone, shin?" Hiyori asked, his tone mocking him. "oh, (y/n) isn't here. Is she?" Shin's eyes snapped toward Hiyori, nervousness began to fill his gut. He was sure you were just right behind him. He assumed you followed him. He looked around frantically for your figure.

You were just hiding. You were there. You were with him, he might be mad but he didn't want you to leave.

"In fact, I don't want to see you anymore. save your breath and stay out of my sight." Hiyori mocked.

He couldn't breathe. Everyone around him blurred as tears filled his vision. Hiyori caught him before he could drop to his knees. "(y/n) must've been distraught with those words you said." Hiyori dragged Shin back on his feet. "so distraught that she didn't follow you out of the room. That she stayed her until her collar began to beep, beep, beep." everyone stood in shock, taking in his words.

"h-how-"

"how do I know? Well, that's a secret." hiyori said, winking and bringing his finger to his lips. The green haired man pulled away, leaving Shin to drop to his knees. He proceeded to focus on the dumbfounded Sara, telling her to choose a name for him since Shin has been using his real one.

But shin couldn't hear him. The only thing he could hear was ringing.

He lost kanna

Now, he lost you.

Everything else went by like a blur. All the puzzles and fights on the fourth floor, the quick elevator ride to the fifth floor, the exploration around the different rooms. Nothing seemed to sink into Shin's mind. He felt nothing, empty.

That was until they discovered the broadcast room.

The room was filled with security cameras and a ton of monitors, things that usually people wouldn't dare touch. Shin approached the control panel and was about to fiddle with the controls when the feed switched from footage of the different rooms to a video of a very familiar room with two beds, a person sitting on one of them.

Shin froze.

It was you.

For a moment, It showed you staring blankly at the wall. You briefly laughed at the sound of your beeping collar. The collar began to crackle and burn into your neck but you didn't scream, instead, you smiled.

What were you smiling for?

You were looking death straight in the eye yet you had the audacity to smile at him?

What the hell were you thinking?

The video abruptly cut to show the aftermath of the last-minute execution. Your body laying on the ground as your blood began to pool.

"shin, I've accepted my fate."

"We should think forward now. It would be more efficient."

Your words continued to echo in his mind.

Maybe he should put your words to good use.

He should think forward and maybe forgive.

The video ended and everyone was staring at Shin in worry. the only people who believed In him died right before his eyes. Keiji was the one to approach him.

He'll forgive. He'll forget. He'll work together with everyone.

"sou, you doing okay?" the detective asked, placing a comforting hand on Shin's shoulder. Shin turned around to face the others, tears streaming down his face but instead of a quivering lip or a big frown, he had a soft, almost somber smile on his face.

He'll move forward now, knowing that you'll be watching over him.

"Never better," he said, looking back to the screens with a smile on his face. He now radiated a determined aura that rivaled in even Sara's.

He finally found a reason to keep fighting, keep moving forward. All because of you.

"Now, where were we?"

-> stressed. his hairs kinda long so they’re a pain the ass to get out some may think he’d be a little hesistant to tackle them alone but yams has several lice killing lotions in his bathroom ready to use. he is sympathetic but no way is he letting little bugs crawl around his head while he’s around tsukki

-> merciless. who tf do these bugs think they are stepping onto his territory? feral. probably put a few in a jar after pulling them out to bark at them and show them that they’ve crossed the line stepping onto his head

-> have sympathy for the guy they’re gonna be a nightmare for him. more upset than anything. now he’s being reduced to being ridiculed by tiny ass bugs too? give the guy a break. gets them out within the first day because he’s not going to suffer longer than he has to and continues doing the treatment for the rest of the week even though they’re certainly long gone

SUGAWARA KOUSHI

-> brutal. like tsukki he’s got no shame in just ripping them out. suga is the type of guy to catch spiders and gently let them out the window and not kill them. lice don’t get that treatment from him. will straight up throw them down the drain and smirk in the process

DAICHI SAWAMURA

-> just another minor occurrence for him. he’s got short hair it’s no biggie. will probably get his mother to help just to make sure he does it right but overall he’ll get rid of them effectively and quickly you wouldn’t even be able to tell he had them in the first place

KINDAICHI YUUTAROU

-> good. he deserves them. maybe this will teach him to get a good haircut. at least the lice like your cut g

KUNIMI AKIRA

-> tortures them after. probably wets a paper towel to keep them stuck to and jabs at them with a thin needle after he’s got them out. sadist little bitch probably has a deadpan expression while doing it too. the lice fear him across the country and avoid him from now on

KYOTANI KENTARO

-> again he’s got short hair so they’re not too big of a pain to get out but why the hell did they have to pick his head? probably picks them out and just throws them wherever he has no regard for where they land and who might catch them from him

HANAMAKI TAKAHIRO

-> little bugs are just chilling no biggie. probably tells the team he’s got them and shakes his head near them to piss them off. oikawa keeps his distance approximately 5 metres and refuses to be included in any rotation makki is in during practice. even after he gets rid of them he doesn’t tell the team and continues shaking his head near them just to ‘keep them on their toes’

MATSUKAWA ISSEI

-> won’t tell anyone other than makki. the two probably pick them out and throw them in oikawas direction leaving their captain confused as to why the hell the two of them keep throwing ‘nothing’ at him. probably gets rid of them within a week and sleeps with a shower cap on so they don’t touch his pillow, that’s his only rule while they spend their vacation on his head

IWAIZUMI HAJIME

-> isn’t scared of no bugs. probably would keep one and press it down just to stick in his childhood bug diary and sneers at how inferior the lice is compared to the other cooler bugs he’d caught before. his hairs short so again it’s not a huge issue for him. he’ll get rid of them quickly and effectively without too much hassle

OIKAWA TOORU

-> screams. begs iwa to take them out for him insisting that it’s his hobby but iwa rejects and leaves oikawa to handle it alone. oikawas sister dips as soon as she finds out and oikawa believes this is the end of his life. after a week of moping and being a brat, iwa gives in and sorts it out for him to finally give him a peace of mind.

LEV HAIBA

-> never had lice before and is genuinely interested rather than concerned. where did the little bugs come from? why do they like his hair so much? is he the chosen one? probably let’s them live on his head for a while until they become infuriatingly itchy and yaku finds out he’s been letting a cult of lice live on his head and forces him to get treatment

KOZUME KENMA

-> thinks bleach with solve it. everyone who hates kenma’s dark roots better be ready for them to go because he will just bleach the shit out of his hair and assume it’s killed them all. for the next few months his hairs gonna be nice but he’ll let his roots grow out again and you’ll secretly hope for him to catch lice again just so he’ll touch up his damn roots again

TAKETORA YAMAMOTO

-> it’s the blonde mohawk that’s the issue. why tf did he have to make his hair to awkward to work with. doesn’t take him long to get out but he probably picks them out walking home from practice or school and just chucks them in bushes or drains he walks past

MORISUKE YAKU

-> you really think he’s about to let some stupid bugs live on his head and not pay rent? absolutely not. has several different brands of lice treatment lotion and uses at least 4 in one go. that amount of chemicals probably isn’t good for you in one go but his only goal is to kill the lice which he achieves. these bugs are mercilessly killed, revived and killed again all in one treatment session

KUROO TETSURŌ

-> this hurt to write knows exactly how to kill them and won’t hesitate in doing so. by that i mean he’s going straight to his grandmother to do it for him because as much as he knows about treatment and such, nobody does anything better than his grandmother and he’ll sit in a chair with a towel around his neck chattering on about his day as his poor grandmother slaves over his head ripping out the stupid bugs from his inconviently styled hair. kuroo’s lucky his grandmother knows he’s her boy

AKAASHI KEIJI

-> bless his soul he’s horrified. disgusting little creatures, believes they’re vermin of the world. mutters in disgust at them as he watches them drown in the pool of water in his bathtub sink eventually sending them down the drain where he hopes they suffer a painful afterlife

KONOHA AKINORI

-> he’s grossed out but doesn’t make a huge deal about it. probably violates himself and gives himself the nickname ‘nitty nori the bug explorer’. he can take a joke and get rid of them in the same week. ugh king shit

BOKUTO KOUTARŌ

-> pain in the ass. he’s excited about these bugs but also worried? do they want to suck his blood? will they crawl into his ears at night? his sisters are the ones responsible with dealing with them and the whole time he’s asking a abundance of random questions regarding the lice and why they chose his head to make their residence

TENDŌ SATORI

-> probably sings at them to make them uncomfortable as he pulls them out. his fingers work magic as he flawlessly picks them out and sends them on their way down to the depths of the drain. the last thing these bugs hear is the terrifying voice of the man who mercilessly sent them to their death beds

USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI

-> his hairs short it’s okay it’s not the end of the world but rather than killing them he believes they have more use to them. he’s going to throw them in this soil in the garden and assume they work the same miracles worms do. he’ll be disappointed to know that they had no effect on his soil and he wasted his damn time making sure to evenly spread them out of the compost heap

MIYA OSAMU

-> will eat with a hat on. if these bugs are gonna live on his head no way is he sharing his food too. they’ve already taken enough from him. atsumu probably bullies him for his lice but freaks out when osamu tells him that because they’re twins, the lice will seek out his head too and they’ll both be infected. he only survives the short period of time with his lice because of the amusement he gets from watching atsumu consciously stay away from him even to the point where atsumu moves onto the couch. maybe he should let the lice vacate a little longer next time

MIYA ATSUMU

-> hates them. calls them every name under the sun but doesn’t actually effectively try to get rid of them. he doesn’t actually know how to get rid of them but is too embarrassed to admit it so he just lives with it. luckily, the lice decided to move in a few days before his hair was due for a touch up so like kenma, he just bleached the shit out of them and it seems to do the trick. it would be concerning had his hair not needed a touch up though who knows how long he would’ve had them.

SUNA RINTARŌ

-> his little sister notices his hand scratching his head constantly and begins to refer to suna as ‘nit boy’ and only ‘nit boy’. he doesn’t really care at first because surely a single shower will do the trick but his sisters provoking gets so annoying he just ends up treating them 7 times over but not before threatening to leave a few dead ones on his sisters pillow if she doesn’t stop calling him names

ARAN OJIRO

-> again, the lice don’t even get to step on his head. they see aran and they respect him. he seems like a nice and reliable guy so why would they go to the efforts of bothering him? probably nod their tiny ass antennas from atsumu’s hair and let aran go about his day in peace

KITA SHINSUKE

-> lice simply don’t exist in kita’s presence. the second a lice stepped foot on kita’s head, he senses it and ripped the mf off before it could even find a nice area to settle. lice keep away from kita at all times and never intend on crossing paths with him

KIYOOMI SAKUSA

-> an indescribable level of disgusted. refuses to accept it at first, insists that lice simply wouldn’t have been able to touch his head but alas he is wrong. tempted to shave his hair off but then again why should he have to suffer just because some stupid bugs said so. has no mercy, will treat his hair every day for the next month and a half and cusses the bugs out as they fall down the drain

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

I made Temperance in concert with Val, so you're going to get a double whammy on this one haha. Val came to be because I was talking with friends about evil DnD campaigns and we ended up making a trio of evil characters, who grew into their own setting with a main city where they do their evil. I really like characters who are living weapons of a sort and I love playing with identity, so I quickly settled on the idea of a conman with a thousand faces, who ends up disappearing behind the masks. Who has no name, is nobody noteworthy, someone you would never spare a second glance if you saw them on the street, but who because of that can steal any face and fit in anywhere. That's still a core part of Val and what makes them scary, though actually writing it and exploring it can be a bit of a pain. But! We're here to talk about the queen bitch herself. IIRC, what first gave me the idea of Temperance was a specific suggesting in the Player Handbook entry about the Conman background. Correction: It was the Charlatan background. "I owe everything to my mentor - A horrible person who's probably rotting in jail somewhere". A living weapon style conman who struggles with identity and an awful teacher who made them into what they are and who they equally resent and thank for that?? listen this is catnip to me. how could you expect me to resist. So this is where Temperance came into being. I quickly ditched the idea of the mentor being in jail, because I wanted the option of her being an active threat. Then as time went on and the other two characters in the evil trio got more fleshed out, I wanted someone more... "actively evil" to match those two. Val is a follower, and I needed a leader. Temperance, then, is everything I love to hate. She is all about facades and pretense, about fitting into society and using their prejudices against them to get ahead. She sees pawns, rather than people, and only truly respects two (2) total people. also she's a hot dangerous lady who doesn't usually do her dirty work herself, now that she is rich and established enough she doesn't have to, but she still would poison you and watch with a pleasant smile as you choke on your own vomit so. like. i'm gay i'm not blind. hope you're not regretting your questions yet as i am incapable of being concise and it will probably not get better :D

✂️ SCISSORS - what is the “last straw” for them to cut someone out of their life? how easily do they let go of people?

Haha. "How easily do they let go of people" extremely easily. Val was her most succesful project and arguably someone close to her and now that they've ran, she would still kill them without a second's thought for betraying her. If you want to be in Temperance's life on her terms, there are two rules: Adore her, and obey her. She tolerates no less, and she will not hesitate to drop you for a more willing toy if you don't have a secondary use for her. There are some rare exceptions, mainly Chal (one of the two OCs in the original evil campaign trio), but baseline? As much as lovebombing is a major facet of her emotional abuse, Temperance only cares about one person and it is herself. Anyone else is simply a means to an end and will be treated as such.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

A queen. She is aware that will not happen and has settled for being a shadow queen, pulling her strings behind the scenes and watching everyone who thinks they're in control dance to her tune, but what she wants deep down is for everyone to know. To see her and see power, see influence, see control, see someone who will never ever be disrespected or fucked with.

📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact.

I get to use a basic fact about her as a random fact cause you don't know her that well yet, score. Temperance is an albino (in her native setting, an albino tiefling), usually with a light pastel pink hair. She is also the reason Val still panics when they see someone with pink hair in a crowd or from a distance.

🚆 TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem?

Pixel you are cruel. First answer and the aftermath: Cry, feel immensely guilty, panic, feel more guilty. She would choose to save more people but it would absolutely gut her and she would feel deeply personally responsible. Depending on the exact situation and the aftermath this is something that could break her as a character, or at least ruin her very very badly and take a long time and the right support to recover from In a philosophical classroom context: She honestly wouldn't be able to answer. Would be deeply uncomfortable with having to consider it too, and she would have to be very hard pressed to stop dodging it and actually pick one.

As a child she made a lot of bead bracelets and she would gift them to anyone nice. The town she’s from isn’t that big, so at one point almost everyone walked around with a colourful, Tanwen-made bead bracelet.

Keiji

☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right?

When he’s lucky: Exactly what he wants them to.  That he’s annoying, that he’s an idiot, that he’s a little shit and he knows it. That he’s down to fuck, when they’re hot. 

Keiji tries very hard to give off an air that he’s untouchable, and he does that by leaning hard into being a bit of an asshole. He likes riling people up, likes getting a rise out of them, loves making fun of people who actually have morals and ideals. So he comes off as all those things, and he comes off as a guy who’s fun to get drunk with but not much else.

If you have an experienced eye you might spot how easily he keeps his balance even when wasted, or how alert he is to exits and entrances and anyone close to him, or how his slight build doesn’t quite hide the lean muscle, but to most folks he looks like nothing more than a small guy with a big attitude and a bigger mouth. He’s very happy to keep it that way right up until he kicks out their kneecaps.

❇️ SPARKLE - what is their most prized possession? what do they value?

okay now, see. i hate you. Keiji doesn’t really have material attachments. He likes stuff, he likes nice things, when he has the time and space to stay in one place for longer he immediately fills his whole bed with pillows. But in terms of a prized possession? There’s one thing that I suppose does count, and that’s from his native DnD verse. It’s an amulet with a symbol of Pelor,  the sun god the monastery is devoted to. He claims he still carries it so he can scam believers into giving him free stuff, but a part of him can’t bear to toss it. It holds the weight of a home he loved, once, where he thought he belonged and where he thought he had value, and even though all that is now ruined and broken and he should know better and he should just fucking toss the thing, he can never bring himself to.

Oh! And bonus round for GW2, in the main verse where Tahir is the commander and Keiji is his right hand (and eventually husband): When they were newly dating Tahir gave him one of his own leaves, encased in amber. Keiji wears it as an amulet and was wearing it when he was killed by Balthazar. It came with him into the realm of the Lost, and it is what reminded him of his name and his memories. In the physical world it split down the middle when Balthazar stabbed him, but when he comes back the amulet heals over too, and it now glows a faint blue to match his scar.

In general: Keiji doesn’t really value possessions. He tends to live lives where he can pick up and move at any moment. When he gets attached it’s to people

“Don’t be a fucking idiot. Don’t believe a word they say.”

❤️ RED HEART - their love language(s)?

Words of affirmation and physical touch. The former to receive, the first to give. When Keiji falls he falls hard, but it’s hard for him to show it and harder to say it. It's easier to watch what he does. See where he stands in a room, see how he'll keep finding excuses to totally casually touch the person he likes, how he can't sit on a couch next to them without laying his feet in their lap or how he can't make a joke without looking to them first to see if they laughed.

Receiving physical touch is good for him too, but words are what makes him melt. Tell him what he means to you, tell him you care and he matters and he just fucking dies. It feels surreal and impossible and he can't bring himself to really believe it and that's what makes it all the more powerful to hear. Contrary to that, though, is that the immensity of it also makes him really likely to try and squirrel out of it. Deflecting compliments, sassing to distract attention away from the sweet thing they said, anything he can manage.

When it's deep enough in the relationship he can actually be made to sit down and listen and accept it without running, but that takes time. Before that, it takes some mild force or finagling. Am I talking about literally tying him up and distracting him with sex until he's soft and floaty enough to let his guard down and you can swoop in with the praise? Maybe. It's not an underhanded tactic if it works.

Val

💚 GREEN HEART - what things make your oc feel comforted? hugs, kisses, food?

The best thing you can do for Val is be there. Be close but don't crowd them, don't touch them unless they ask or initiate it, and always leave them an open room to escape. Talk, give them something to listen to and quietly chime in with when they start to feel better. Physical contact sometimes helps, but they'll ask for it if they want it and then it's usually sitting with their shoulder pressed against yours, or resting their head on you.

The one exception re: touch is their dog, Kaylie, who is very good at grounding them when they dissociate or start to. Do they sometimes also hug Kaylie pretending she's the human and wishing they could just be normal and hug the person they care about without feeling trapped? maybe.

If we're talking self-soothing, or things they do for comfort, there's baking. When they were still with Temperance, on very rare days where they had time off and there were ingredients to spare they would make cookies for the younger girls and those are some of the rare actually treasured memories they have. They still like baking cookies, and it's both a ritual and a comfort thing for them and what they tend to when someone they like is going through a tough time and they're not sure what they can do to help. When in doubt, make friend's favourite cookies and gift those.

🪤 MOUSE TRAP - what will always lure them into certain danger? a loved one in danger? a promise of something they are always searching for?

A loved one in danger, absolutely. They try not to but they can have a bit of a self-sacrificial streak because, well, they can handle pain better than most people and if someone needs to suffer, it is better it's them than the people they love. Children being in danger or being mistreated too, there's no way they can stand by and watch that happen without trying to interfere.

Chapter 29: Tested

As you sat in the middle of Kenma's sprawled leg, you two cuddled with controllers at hand.

A year at most had passed since the release of Puri Puri Magika: Lost Magic™ and things happened.

Of course PPM recieved a lot of rewards and the hype of the game still hasn't died which surprised you. A multi-player version was also released after 5 months.

You had publish and completed 2 Manga and have a new one on going. Your Manga recieved an anime adaptation which made you proud.

Kenma had won awards as well. Not that we'd go into that🙄. He also 'forced' you to move in so he could make sure you're living healthy and not staying up for a week finishing your script. He also dedicated a day where he streams with you, so you could rest.

You both usually used your time playing games that were on top charts. And among all the games only 1 game almost topped PPM.

The game Kenma had asked Sakujo to make. They publicly released it as a dating simulator, which you could either end up with Kenma or you.

"You idiot! Just fucking die already!!" You screeched as you button mashed.

Right now you were playing Street fighter to match with Kenma's retro theme of the month.

"You suck at this."

"Shut the fuck up! How do I do Kamehameha?!!!??"

Kenma sighed, "It's not called Kamehameha idiot. It's called-" He didn't need to finish his sentence when his character finished you off with a yell of "Hadouken!"

You looked at how your character lost and clenched you jaw.

"You suck!!!! You're a cheater!!!! I hate this let's play something else!!!!!" You screamed.

Kenma frowned at how loud your were but obliged. He checked the comments to see which games they were recommending.

"Let's play th---" He was cut off when the door slammed open outside.

The two of you looked at each other.

"Y/N!!! BABEEEEE!!!!" You heard your Soulmate yell at the living room.

"AHHH! Kuroo!!!!" You hopped off Kenma and ran to the door.

Kenma wouldn't agree but according to the comments, Kenma gave a horrified and broken look the moment you jumped off.

"This idiot." He grumbled and followed you as fast as he could not bothering with his stream.

He saw how you and Kuroo approached each other in slow mo, skipping to each other. So Kenma had no trouble grabbing you by the hood of your hoodie and frowned at Kuroo only to see Alisa holding Kuroo in a choke hold.

"Hey Kenma!" Alisa smiled.

The blond nodded and dragged you behind him.

"Alisaaaaa! Kenmaaaa!!!! You can't split away soulmates!! Let us goo!!!" You and Kuroo struggled from their hold.

Managing to free a hand you both tried to reach out to each other, only for Alisa to choke Kuroo harder killing the poor man.

"I came to borrow YN~" Alisa sang looking at Kenma.

"If she's going be like this, you can have her."

"Swap her with Kuroo?"

"Why the fuck would I want Kuroo?"

"Well I can't have both of them! Do you seriously want them arrested? Again?"

Kenma groaned at sighed. He let Alisa drag you to your closet and he was stuck with Kuroo.

After you got prepared to go out you gave Kenma a kiss and tried to do it Kuroo as well but the demonic aura of the two scared you both so you decided against it and went out.

Unbeknownst to you the two male had a talk about something. Unfortunately unbeknownst to them, the stream was still active...

Alisa dragged you from shop to shop. Buying this and that.

After what seemed to be 3 hours you and Alisa went to a food court.

To your surprise you saw Keiji, Tenma and Yamaguchi together.

"Y/N! Alisa!" Satori greeted.

"What are you guys doing here?" You asked shocked.

"Well we wanted to hang out and Alisa said you were with her so we went here." Tenma grinned.

"Satori dragged me with him." Akaashi said.

They all joined you and then conversation just flowed perfectly. You talked about this and that while eating.

You'd check on your phone hoping to see a message from Kenma but you got none.

"You keep checking your phone, want us gone that bad?" Satori frowned.

"N-No! I was just checking if Kenma left a message."

"Did he?"

"Nope. I kinda wanna go home now."

"Oh my god what if he's cheating on you?" Satori gasped. Which earned him a hit from Alisa and Akaashi.

"As if that hermit could get anyone else. Especially with Kuroo following him. My Soulmate would make girls pass out before they could even glance at Kenma."

"I don't understand why YN loves Kuroo more than Kenma." Yamaguchi laughed nervously.

"Alisa prefers Kenma. Kuroo prefers YN. Kenma hates everyone." Akaashi pointed out.

"If Alisa would let me I wouldn't mind being a third."

"One thing we agreed on is never put you and Kuroo together and unsupervised. So no I don't think so."

"When did you learn that?" Tenma asked.

"After the two got arrested." Akaashi answered.

"Huh?"

"It was at a train. Something... Explicit happened." Alisa sighed remembering what happened.

"H-Huh?"

"YN went on her knees on a train. They didn't actually do anything, just suggested the thought but I guess it was enough to get them arrested." Akaashi explained.

"That's where the KenYN break up came in."

"I'm surprised Kenma and Alisa are still dating you and Kuroo at this point."

"I know right?" Alisa cringed. "Anyway we should continue our shopping spree."

You all stood up and roamed around for another hour or two until Alisa got a message.

"We should go home. Kuroo just texted me. You guys wanna come with?"

They all shrugged and said they'll meet you at your place.

When you got home you got home you laughed seeing how messy your place was. It was like there's a con going on at your house.

Everyone in it was Cosplaying as some game character. There were people you didn't quite know who.

"Y/N!!!!" Kuroo came barelling towards you in his Luigi costume with Mario right behind him.

"Ahh! Where's Akaashi?!" Mario, who turned out to be Bokuto, asked.

Alisa stepped in front of you before Kuroo got to you and turned to Bokuto. "He's on his way. He probably changed clothes."

"What's happening? Why is everyone dressed up?"

Kenma came out of the room with his Overwatch cosplay. You told your friends you were going to Kenma and went over.

"Well hello there. What's up with everything?"

"Do you not know what today is?" Kenma asked.

"Oh fuck, is it our anniversary?"

You and Kenma just looked at each. You fucked up.

"You don't know when that is?"

Everyone was looking at you when you got out of the room which made you feel anxious.

Was this party for you and you forgot about it? It wasn't Kenma's birthday that's for sure. What could it have been?

Alisa came to you in a KDA Akali Cosplay that you assume Kenma lent her.

"Oh my god the photos are gonna be so great."

"I think Kenma's mad at me..." You mumbled.

"When is he not?"

"I don't know what today is..."

"Just- it'll come to you sooner or later."

You frowned as you scanned the room for your man. You saw Akaashi in a Kingdom Hearts Cosplay, Satori and Wakatoshi in a Tomb Raider costume. Hinata and Kageyama in Danganronpa. Link, who is Atsumu, clinging to Skull Kid. Sakujo and his husband wearimg you and Kenma's character in PPM.

But you found no one in an Overwatch costume.

"Excuse me..." You heard from the front. It was Kuroo, Bokuto and Kenma on an improvised stage.

"I'm sure everyone here knows what's going on right?" Kenma said exaggerating on the word everyone.

"Today, to continue our celebration we will be having a treasure hunt! The treasures you're looking for are in a form of a game loot box of various game style."

"There are a total of 21 loot boxes around town. One of them empty. You are to bring the loot box unopened here and you'll claim the prize of whatever it is in it. You could either come home empty handed or 100k courtesy to our dear host."

"The clues to the boxes are cut evenly to all the players. All the players will have 1 clue. Each players could only get one loot box and it has to correspond to your clue. Come up and get your clue!"

With that, Bokuto brought out a box with a hole on top. Everyone went on stage and got their clue. You were the last to get the clue so you were excited.

The thought of at least 45 adults in Cosplay running around town looking for boxes humored you. So you excitedly looked at your clue.

What made today special.

You froze. It was as if they were doing this in purpose. You had no idea what today was, and of course you had to get the clue asking for what today was.

You looked at Kenma and he gave you a look. Did he know which clue you got, and is disappointed you didn't know what it was?

You took a deep breath and went over to Kenma. "I-I'll win! I know it."

Kenma nodded. "That'll be one less 100k. Do win."

"Ready???" Kuroo called everyone.

"Go!" Bokuto yelled and everyone went out.

Eyes were on us with a bunch of adults wearing Cosplay coming out of a room. Some recognized people it made you realize everyone running right now was a pretty big deal in entertainment industry or related to someone. No one recognized you though. Bless your fake beard.

You ran to wherever you could think of. Enix, Jump, your place. But you saw nothing. Then you thought of the party.

The party wasn't a year ago from today but it was the only one you could think of.

You ran you were just so tired. After all you've been running for hours. And when you got there.

It was empty.

It broke your heart. You couldn't remember what today was. You failed Kenma.

You just gave up. You needed Kenma's comfort, but you were afraid you won't get it since you failed.

You sadly made your way back to you place. Tears threatening to fall. You were disappointed in yourself.

"Y/N." You heard someone call. You lifted your head to see Kenma.

The tears fell. "Kenma... I could find the box..."

Everyone was already back, and was looking out.

"I-I looked everywhere and I-I just couldn't find it..." A soft sob escaped your lips. And you looked down.

"Y/N."

"I-I don't remember what today is..."

"Y/N look at me." Kenma called.

You lifted your head and saw that Kenma was on his knees. Your eyes widened.

"H-Huh...?"

He brought out a Overwatch loot box from his pocket and cleared his throat.

"Today... Was the day when it all started. The day you showed up in my steps with a stupid flash drive..." He laughed weakly.

You blinked confused of what's happening.

"The day I saw, was the most important day for me. It was the day... The day I noticed you. I really hate you back then. You were so annoying, you still are. You're so persistent. So loud. You ruined my stream. And you kept bothering me. "

"Now you're just insulting me..." You laughed sadly.

"I-I... Look... I love you. I love you YN LN." And looked at the box, "Do you want to know what box you got?"

"Uh-Hm..."

When you opened the box there was a ring.

"Marry me."

You took the box from him and laughed. "You are such a nerd!" Wrapping your arms around him and gave him a kiss.

The crowd hollered and awed at you two. Chanting "Answer him!" and "Say yes!"

When you two parted you rested your forehead against his.

"I love you so much Kenma. I'd love to spend an eternity stuck with your stupid nerdy ass."

As much as I love the dolls, a part of me wishes the dead contestants came back in a doll form instead of strangers the groups didn’t really know. Because think about the dynamics! I also know that the non candidates don’t have dolls, but lets pretend for a minute. 

Sara could be paired with Nao 

Keiji could be paired with Joe

Shin/Kanna and Alice/Reko could be paired with their sibling that didn’t make it. 

Q-Taro could be paired with Kai 

Gin could be paired with Mishima 

Depending on the route, we could have Sara either share her regrets about not escaping with Nao, or admit that she could never happily escape if it meant leaving everyone to die. Nao could also attempt to assist Sara, leading to two different outcomes. On the logic route, Sara won’t accept her help. While on the emotion route she’d be more willing to trust in her friend. If you wanted to explore the darker side of Nao’s character that was willing to cause the massacre ending, you could have her pull a Ranmaru and kill Keiji on the logic route so she and Sara could have another shot of escape. I think Nao would kill Keiji first instead of Reko/Alice since she cares so much about both of them. Especially Reko. 

Keiji and Joe being paired could be a fun parallel to the start of the game where they search together. If the Joe is Mr.Policeman’s son theory is true, this would also be the time to figure that out. For the Sara aspect of things, on the logic route Sara ignores Joe almost completely because she doesn’t know who he is. While on the emotion route she tries to avoid him so she’s not sucked back into the indescribable grief she felt after his death. 

The siblings would be so angsty. For the Shin lives route he would do his best to play the doll off as an inconvenience, but he’s so emotional his care for Kanna slips through the cracks. He becomes overprotective over the doll not wanting to loose all that’s left of his sister. Alice is somewhat the same. He’s conflicted, wanting to give the frustrated Reko her space but also wanting the last chance he has to make things up to her. He’s very also very protective of her doll not wanting to see her die. 

If you want to cry today, imagine Shin’s reaction to Kanna’s doll being shredded by the drill. 

For the Kanna lives route, Kanna enjoys her extra time with Shin, but also understands that he’s just a doll, not really her brother. Reko is very much the same. She treats him kindly, but also holds him at arms length with the knowledge that he’s not real and his battery will run out soon. Reko and Kanna are more worried about the people still alive. They love their brothers, but are at terms with the fact that they are gone. 

As for Q-Taro and Kai, I can’t see Kai stabbing Q-Taro so in this AU I’m going to say Q-Taro gets stabbed protecting his doll. He regrets what happened with Kai and regards his doll and his feelings as real. Kai’s presence encourages Q-Taro to be selfless and make the sacrifices he does in this chapter for the group. 

Gin and Mishima just being father and son. Honestly I don’t have much to add about this dynamic. 

This would also make the choice of which doll is still alive at the end of the banquet more powerful. You could have either Kai, Shin/Kanna, or Mishima repairable.

you had seen bo moping around a bit that morning, exhausted from the previous practice and not at all excited to show up to an early morning one

you decided to send him a little message that might cheer him up and get him through the day before you picked him up that read; “A bento isn’t the only thing I’ll let you eat tonight if you finish up practice with a smile.🥢”

as his eyes dart across the screen, the brightest smile you’ve ever seen slides across his face, his expression lighting up

the team is literally like???? you were moping around for the whole practice??

immediately RUNS to akaashi jumping around him, smacking him on the back excitedly, his face giving it all away

the team groans as they come to the same realization, amidst calls of “Gross, Bokuto” and “Keep it in your pants, owl.”

you have never seen him sprint so fast to your car after practice holy-

he stares into the stands, his gaze hungry and you just know you are in for it now.

Why calling it "logic versus emotion" makes sense

At the end of chapter 2 in Your Turn To Die, the player is forced to choose between killing Sou or Kanna. Kanna frames this as a choice between "logic" and "emotion," where saving Sou is the "logical" choice and saving Kanna is the "emotional" choice. 

Personally, I love the writing in this part. I think it's the strongest writing in the whole game. However, since joining the YTTD fandom, I've read various posts from fans who don't like calling this a simple choice between "logic" and "emotion." For them, it felt like an emotional choice to save Sou, while it was a logical choice to save Kanna. After seeing this argument so many times, I decided to unpack my feelings on it. I also wanted to write my own defense of why calling this a choice between "logic" and "emotion" makes sense, at least to me. For me, it all comes down to how it’s written as a choice between two opposing worldviews, and I don’t focus on the little technicalities. I’ll also argue that the game is using descriptive language, rather than prescriptive language.

But first, we have to deal with a strange irony about this choice:

For the genre-savvy player, yes, it IS "logical" to save Kanna and "emotional" to save Sou.

Before writing anything about this choice, I need to acknowledge that Sara and the Player are two different people. They're obviously connected, and they inform each other's feelings and choices, but they still exist in different worlds. Sara is actually trapped in a Death Game. The Player is vicariously experiencing what it would be like to be trapped in a Death Game through a fictional story.

I'm not going to argue that Sara necessarily likes Kanna more than she likes Sou, and thus it is more "emotional" for her to save Kanna. It's possible to play Sara as someone who isn't that affectionate of Kanna, and she can act generously towards Sou. That's not the main issue here.

The issue is that the Player expects the fictional story to go in certain directions based on the morality of their choices, while Sara has no such meta expectations. The Player can reasonably expect to be rewarded with a happy ending at the end of YTTD if they make the "correct" moral choices. Saving Kanna feels like the "morally correct" choice on a gut level because she's a child, while Sou is an adult. So the Player may choose to save Kanna purely for logical reasons. They're not trying to be selfless or wise; they just want a reward from a videogame. And...they're not wrong! Immediately after saving Kanna, the player is rewarded with a cathartic scene with Joe, cluing us in to the idea that choosing Kanna is the "good path." 

Meanwhile, if the Player saves Sou, they're saving him in spite of knowing that this could logically lead to a "dark path." You might save Sou because he's a fascinating character, or because you're curious what will happen, or simply because you think he's cute. These are all emotional reasons. Maybe you don't expect any "happy" rewards if you save Sou, but you still expect the story to be exciting with him around.  

Speaking for myself, I want to see both the Kanna and Sou routes for reasons that are both emotional and logical. I sympathize with both characters, and I want to analyze them as they continue their arcs. I just think they're great characters connected to fascinating themes about humanity.

In other words, the Player is going to have all sorts of feelings about this choice based on the safety of their separation from the Death Game. It's only a videogame to us. We're not actually killing a child or a young man. We still feel sad about the story, but it's a safe sadness, one we can control. You can make your choice based on which type of tragedy is more interesting to you in the moment.

So that's how the Player experiences the choice, but what about Sara? Does it still make sense to call it a decision between "logic" and "emotion" for her? I would argue, "yes." First of all...

"Logic" and "emotion" are descriptive terms for the argument styles of Kanna and Sou, respectively. 

Using "descriptive" terminology means that we attempt to classify language as it is actually being used. Using "prescriptive" terminology means that we dictate how we should be using language.

When Kanna calls this a choice between logic and emotion, you might have thought she was being prescriptive. You might have thought something like, "You can't tell me how I should feel about this." But I think Kanna was simply being descriptive of the language she and Sou were using. It's a fair assessment of their opposing argument styles.

Kanna argues that you should vote for her by appealing to your sense of logic. She eloquently makes the case that Sou has proven himself invaluable to the team with his computer hacking skills. He came extremely close to finding an escape route just before the second Main Game began. With more time, he could find another one. If he dies, there is no one else in their party with his valuable skill set. She also effectively weaponizes her own helplessness by arguing that she is a "useless" child. She states that dying for the greater good "is the only thing she can do." What I love about Kanna's argument is how she twists Sou's own words against him, since Sou has been using coldhearted logical arguments since the beginning. She shows how much she's learned from him, and she's even able to outsmart him.

Sou argues that you should vote for him by appealing to your emotions. He furiously makes the case that he is the most hated member of the team and that you should give into your hatred of him. He says that the choice ought to be obvious based on your feelings. He calls Kanna stupid. He keeps shouting "Stop!" and "No!" He waves his arms in despair. He resorts to threats and exclaims that he will never forgive anyone who votes for Kanna. Sou's argument is compelling because we have never seen him so vulnerable before. Even with his strong will to live, he has an even more desperate will to save the little girl he's grown to care for. It's devastating to watch such a man break down. After losing his previous eloquence, he is forced to bare his soul and pray that that is enough.

However, even with all that in mind, you could still argue on a technicality that some of Kanna's statements are emotional while some of Sou's statements are logical. For example, when Kanna says that she is useless, this reflects her emotional state since she has low self-esteem. And when Sou starts threatening people, it's logical to take his threats seriously. 

But there's something deeper at work here than technicalities. There's still something at the core of their arguments that makes the choice to save Sou "logical" and Kanna "emotional."

At its core, this debate is about how to measure a human life's worth. Do you measure a human life based on how "useful" they are? Or do you recognize a person's worth based on their humanity alone? 

This is a choice between two worldviews, which the story calls "logical" and "emotional." 

In the logical worldview, you prioritize a person's usefulness over their humanity for the greater good. Also, you must be willing to use people like tools for the greater good.

In the emotional worldview, you refuse to reject anyone's humanity, even if it threatens the greater good. Also, you must accept that some moral causes are more important than survival. 

If you vote to save Sou, then Sara prioritizes the greater good; theoretically, the group can use Sou to escape. But being willing to use Sou this way rejects Sou's humanity, because we would be using his talents against his will. For Sou, escape is not worth the cost of Kanna's life. Sara also rejects her own humanity by treating both Sou and Kanna as objects instead of people. Kanna is discarded as a useless object, while Sou is kept as a potentially useful one. This is why Sara guiltily calls this "the worst possible choice" when she makes it. And it's why Sou seems to care more about revenge than survival in this route; there is no meaning in a world where we must sacrifice children.

If you vote to save Kanna, Sara does so knowing it may be harder for the group to escape without Sou's skills. But she embraces Sou's humanity by allowing him to follow his heart. She also strengthens her own humanity by refusing to cross a moral line. This is why Sou actually keeps his will to live in this route and mounts a desperate escape before his death. Because there's still meaning in a world where Kanna is allowed to live. He still dies, but with peace and purpose, and having repaid Sara for freeing his true heart.

In any case, you may still disagree with the semantics of "logic" and "emotion" to describe these worldviews, though they work for me personally. I have one more point to address.

Is it really logical to save someone who threatens you?

At this point, I'd like to talk about the most logical member of the group, the character who immediately votes to kill Kanna: Keiji Shinogi.

You, the Player, may believe that Sou will get his revenge if he lives, because it would make a compelling story. And Sara, a high-school student, may be reasonably afraid of Sou's threats, because Sou has tried to hurt her before. Even though the text doesn't portray Sara as being afraid of Sou in this moment, I understand why the Player would fear for Sara's life. In other words, a logical reason to kill Sou is because you don't believe you can control him. How do you force an adult man to behave?

Enter Keiji Shinogi, who doesn't hesitate. Keiji is stronger than Sou, and he's wicked smart. He's confident in his own abilities. And he understands vengeance better than anyone. He doesn't underestimate Sou, who has outwitted him before, but he decides to accept the risk. Like Sou, Keiji has a ruthless will. I believe that one reason Keiji voted first was because he wanted to assure everyone that "your friendly policeman" would keep Sou in line. So even though Sara doesn't act afraid of Sou in this moment, Keiji is there to calm any hypothetical fears the Player has. 

And Keiji commits to this role! In the beginning of Chapter 3, in the route where Kanna dies, the first thing Sou does is disturb the group peace. He puts on his "tough" mask and pretends that he never really cared about Kanna. In response, as everyone else is fidgeting nervously, Keiji laughs and calls out Sou on his bullshit. He eviscerates Sou emotionally, effectively putting Sou in his place and forcing him to be submissive, for now. It's Keiji's way of reminding Sou that they already know how weak he is, and Sou isn't going to get away with any tricks under Keiji's watch. Even if Sou's only "trick" in this case is to pretend he has any pride left.

From a storytelling perspective, I'm sure that these two will keep playing their power games, and Sou is likely to regain the upper-hand eventually. But from an in-universe perspective, Keiji looks like he knows exactly what he's doing in this scene, and Sou looks like a fool who better do what he's told. That is, if he doesn't want Keiji to skewer his heart in front of everyone again.

So where am I going with this?

My most generous interpretation of Keiji's vote is that he decided that Sou's life had value inasmuch as he could use Sou. After all, it's not like Keiji spared Sou out of compassion. Keiji just said that he hated Sou more than anyone he's ever known--and Keiji already killed someone else he hated. The harsher interpretation of Keiji's vote is that he fully expects Sou to die later due to his zero percent survival rate, which would make Kanna's presence technically more of a "threat" to Keiji's own survival. However, I prefer to think that Keiji was swayed by Kanna's brilliant defense of Sou's usefulness. That's because Keiji isn't a simple monster; he's a complex man who still wants to "serve and protect" the group...in his own way.

To follow in Keiji's footsteps and vote with "logic" means that Sara decides to trust Keiji's judgment. We know that Keiji is one of the smartest and strongest characters, in addition to being Sara's reliable ally. This is why I think it's still "logical" for Sara to save Sou in spite of his threats. Because Keiji is still there. 

Conclusion

That's why framing the choice as one between "logic" and "emotion" works for me. I see it as a choice between two worldviews, one in which people are valued for their usefulness, and the other in which people are valued for their humanity. 

I understand that the Player is going to have their own thoughts and feelings about this choice. Believe me, I was heartbroken too! I really wanted Sou to redeem himself and live. And I think Sara even feels the same way, since she pleads "Don't kill our ally!" when Safalin threatens Sou. It's still possible that Sou could redeem himself in the route where he lives, but I imagine it will be more important that the Player faces consequences for killing Kanna. But no matter what happens in Chapter 3, it doesn't change the fact that it looked possible in Chapter 2 for Sou's skillset to save everyone, and everyone was operating under that mindset.

I think that the writing in this game is stellar so I wanted to defend the story's framing. It surprised me to see folks who had reacted to it differently, but that's all part of the fun. It got me thinking about how interesting it is that the Player and Sara view things differently. It also got me thinking that what seems like a logical choice in the moment could feel like the wrong decision in hindsight.
