I see a lot of people making fun of Q-taro's name, but honestly.. I can't possibly think of another name for him that doesn't hold the same impact as his original name. Nankidai really thought a perfect name for his design, I love it

On paper his name sounds kinda dumb, especially because the name “Taro” is really nice and it’s just the “Q-“ part that’s weird, but honestly it really suits him.

I also think “Q-Taro” suits his design more than “Taro.” I’ve said before that his design makes him look like every man at a southern gas station, and as someone who lives in the South, I wouldn’t be shocked to meet someone with a random letter and dash at the start of their name.

So his name really is fitting.

GUESS WHO GOT HIS MOM TO PLAY YTTD??? IT'S ME!! she was bored and didn't have any games to play so i recommended the game (read: kind of maybe hounded her about it until she played it). here are her current thoughts

she likes the music a lot

im telling you the INSTANT joe appeared onscreen she said "joe? joe mama?" i love my mother

her sara is both very anxious but also very unwilling to put any big decisions in the hands of "these bozos"

on shin: at first she liked him because of his big scarf. she also thinks he looks emo. then later she found him annoying because he was weak when exploring. her current opinion is "as useless as he may be, he's cute" (she did not recognize him from the title sequence)

on q-taro: she loves the name burgerburg and wants him to be her partner at all times because he is very buff. i think he may be her favorite so far

upon seeing nao: "you've drawn this woman in overalls before!"

on gin: "aw he's cute! why does he say both meow AND woof?"

on reko: she is so enamored with how reko is constantly going like this 🤟 she also said she likes to imagine reko says all her lines in a metal screamo voice

got mad when mishima took away her cigar even though originally she was weirded out by how she even got a cigar

figured out russian roulette on her second try (it took me like four tries and i didnt even have a strategy but she figured it out quick)

i'm just so happy i got my mom into one of my biggest hyperfixations lmao. she even said she's really enjoying the game and is invested in the characters!! yayyy

I don't remember exactly what happened since this dream happened like, months ago.

I was in this castle, and it was a a killing game. I distinctly remember Q-Taro Burgerburg from yttd, Kinjo from DRA, and Ace being there.

I ended up getting drunk (have no idea what being drunk is like 💀) and passing out in a hot tub, fully clothed, with I think Akane from DRA or a random girl and Ace. 10/10

Man every once in a while I think about the time when I got stuck playing Q-Taro’s lost memory minigame for so long that when I was getting ready to sleep and didn’t want to brush my teeth Q TARO FUCKING BURGERBURG’S VOICE told me to brush my teeth and to not give up or something and it scared me so badly I brushed and flossed my teeth without protest.

So yeah guys uhhh dental hygiene or Q-taro Burgerburg will be disappointed in you.

Do you think that the characters in the couch scene (pixel art) have a big significance where they're sitting/standing? I was thinking of that those who were more far away from Sara (Shin and Alice) were the ones who distrusted Sara the most, and the ones who are the nearest are the ones who trust her more, but idk... Thoughts?

I agree with you that the people closest with Sara are the ones nearest to her!

Sara is sitting closest to Joe, Reko, and Gin. I would argue that these three are her most caring allies and have pretty clear intentions about caring for her wellbeing.

The next people she's closest to is Nao, Mishima, Kanna, and Q-Taro. These seem like allies she's close with, but with a certain distance.

Nao is absolutely Sara's ally, but you could argue that Nao has a certain independence from her. She's able to do the Mishima AI plot without Sara, and she's also able to make it far with the sacrifice card.

Mishima is an ally as well, but he died so quickly it's hard to fully count him as one.

More Undercut

Q-Taro cares about Sara, but his selfishness makes him hold a certain distance from most of the cast until 3A-3B. So he's an ally but it took him a bit to be a fully reliable one.

The same could go for Kanna. She cares about Sara so much, but she has screwed her over a few times while she was working with Shin. So they're close but with some distance.

Kai and Keiji are the a little further then the others. They care about Sara a lot, but they're both secretive people who seem to be wary of fully trusting others. So while they do care deeply about her wellbeing, an argument could be made that there isn't a lot of trust between Sara and Keiji and Sara and Kai. At least not until later in their arcs.

Alice and Shin are farthest from the group. This makes sense as they're loners. Yet they also hold Sara more at arms length then anyone else in the cast. They try to kill her during the second main game and don't trust her for a long time. Shin never learns to fully trust her if you play the logic route.

So I think you could be onto something about the placements! The couch sprites are something I'm really excited to look back on after the final chapter is released because I feel like it's possible that this pixel art has more foreshadowing then we can be aware of right now.

I like to imagine them trying all the fair food and Kai being insanely good at the games, winning Q-taro a lot of prizes.
