Best guess: puberty as a survivor of protracted childhood neglect followed by forced service as a child soldier in the ghost war and also the mean voice in your head is actually a real homicidal ghost in a jar
(I also have some inwardly pointed Feelings about the vitriol.)
Books Lucy is a mean one but she is one hell of a rational actor and she does do her best to keep the mean words to her internal monologue, which speaks to the kind brave stubborn little girl we see dragging her sister out of the bog in the first book
@hailqiqi I have begun reading The Books
i like the idea of Lucy being the "author" of the Lockwood&Co books. after her talent fades she decides to be a writer. cue the team reading through her manuscripts like "wow Lucy you really hated us back then, huh?"

lockwood & co is great bc you have a group of teenagers who are all at this point in their lives highly trained individuals and capable and experienced and it shows in how they operate. but they are also teenagers and chaotic and disorganized and struggling with altogether too much pressure on their shoulders and it shows too. they're marching around London acting like they know what they're doing and they do but at the same time they don't, because they hunt ghosts and have for years but they're only sixteen and that is so young. you don't know anything when you're sixteen. and they have the health and safety of a nation resting on their shoulders, and they squabble over who gets the last cookie.

i’m sorry, if jessica died when she was 15, and she’s 6 years older than lockwood, and she died 6 years before he showed lucy and george her room at the end of the whispering skull, which takes place the june after the november of the screaming staircase, which is 6 months after lucy joins the agency, and george joined a year before her, that means that he was 15 when he showed them the room, 14 when lucy joins the agency, and 13!! when george does. he was either like 12 or 13 when he started the agency. i thought they were like 16 screaming staircase and 18 by the end of it this is so weird

It's been a long time since the last entry. And I've thought about a new category. Need to explain the members of L&Co. right?

TIME-TRAVEL FICS
As I stated before, I'm new to the Lockwood & Co. fandom, but if there's one thing I love is Time-Travel fics, and that is something that we do not have enough here.
All of them going to the past, someone going to the past (storie's present), one of the characters being of a different reality and going to the future (I read one like this of Ghost Hunter!Lockwood from the Victorian times going to the future and meeting Lucy and it was the best thing I ever read). I NEED MORE. I NEED TIME-TRAVEL SO I CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT.

Someone once mentioned once that in this picture, Ruby looks like she’s wearing Lockwood’s suit and now I can’t unsee it.

I’m probably getting way ahead of myself, but like I’ve been imagining the perfect way to tease Lockwood and Co. season two.
(mild) Hollow Boy Spoilers!! (also Creeping Shadow spoilers in the tags)
So like the camera starts outside 35 Portland Row, and zooms in to the door, as though the audience is walking up to it. We hear the bell, and who answers?
Miss Holly Munro, looking all perfect and pleasant. She greets the camera, introduces herself and says something like “Thank you so much for choosing Lockwood and Company as the solution to your psychic troubles, Mr. Lockwood will meet you through here.”
We follow her through the front hall (I feel like this shot would be a great spot to have hints about the season, like maybe a newspaper talking about the Chelsea outbreak left on the table next to the skull lamp or something) into the living room.
When she opens the door, we see the endings of Lucy and George fighting over something (idk maybe a biscuit or a chair), quickly seating themselves all proper and client-ready.
Lockwood, ignoring this, stands up with his Lockwood grin, and walks to be next to Holly (framed on the opposite side of Lucy, gotta get in as many hints as possible), and says, “Hello, I’m Anthony Lockwood, I hear you’ve had some trouble with bleeding footprints?”
And then it cuts to just the title screen of the show with maybe a release date.

the idea of a portland row game night is so funny to me because i feel like it would get so chaotic.
Lucy is the kind of person to win without really trying.
George would strategize everything and win.
Lockwood would strategize everything and some how still lose.
Lockwood and Kipps would get so competitive with each other that they spend the whole time trying to one up each other. They usually both end up losing anyway but at that point they don't care.
Holly is just happy to be there and watch everyone around her implode. Like if they played Monopoly Holly would be the bank manager while ensuring there is enough tea and snacks to go around.
the Skull is banned from playing because he spends the whole time trying to mess with Lucy.

Possibly unpopular Lockwood & Co. opinion up ahead:
I'm seeing so many people talking about how they hope some kind of love triangle happens in S2 (God willing we get a S2 😭) or some sort of jealousy plot and honestly?
I could not disagree more vehemently.
Love triangles have their place and in certain stories they can be fun, but when a couple is set up with the kind of soulmate-level connection and intensity as Lucy and Lockwood, it's just painful to watch. I really can't stand that kind of wedge being driven between what is originally set up to be such a beautiful, meant-to-be pairing. I think it's overused and lazy, usually just thrown in as a way to add tension between the couple when THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER WAYS TO DO THAT. It's not compelling to me. It's just painful and takes away so much weight from the characters' relationship. I don't want to see that happen to Lucy and Lockwood. The Netflix portrayal of their relationship has genuinely done so much to heal and redefine what love looks like in a healthy/trying to be healthy way to me, and I don't want to see something as stupid and contrived as a love triangle/jealousy plot come between them. Hell, we already HAD the chance for that to happen with Kipps, but Lucy soundly turned him down and made it clear to Lockwood that she didn't want to be with anyone but Lockwood at least that's what I took away from that scene.
Anyways. Rant over.
