Only thing I know about X Men Evolution is that Wolverine's costume has tasteful sideboob lol. tbh I didn't know anything about X-Men until 2020, when I was in a fandom discussion and someone mentioned Magneto and Charles Xavier and I had no clue who they were talking about. Then my best friend (she and her fiance love X-Men, especially Wolverine) convinced me to watch the 90s X-Men cartoon
Tumblr media
it’s fashion babyyyyy
I can’t speak to the 90s xmen stuff because my taste in animated shows is like. specifically that early 2000s era, with xmen evo and the animated justice league (unlimited) cartoons etc etc but the reason I love scott in evolution is because a) he’s a fucking dork. just a complete and total nerd who manages to say the weirdest shit imaginable with a straight face (I’m not sure if you’ve seen the “THEN TAKE IT RAW” scene but I’ve rb’d it several times on this blog so I encourage you to take a look if you haven’t already), b) hes very morally uptight but that doesnt always mean he agrees with his teammates (specifically there’s this scene where they’re doing a virtual training sequence and they programmed rogue to be the villain and he was Not Cool With It, even though at this specific time she was technically ‘The Bad Guy’) and seeing the contrast between what he thinks is Good or Right vs what Xavier and the others think is okay was really interesting, c) his relationships with the others? *chefs kiss* perfect. he’s a big brother in this show (can’t remember if he was older or younger than Alex in the movies or any other versions) and even though he believes Alex is dead for a good while in this show you can still tell he’s used to being a big bro cause he acts like it, especially w Kurt and kitty. It’s kinda sad to think about sometimes, yknow, that he had to grow up fast bc he lost his entire family at 10 yrs old so he’s Major Serious now but the younger members tend to bring out the kid in him and those moments have a special place in my heart. He’s incredibly loyal to the people he cares about and while it’s not always warranted & kind of stupid sometimes (cough cough, letting Alex convince him to trust magneto that one time, cough cough) it’s an admirable trait and it works in his favour a lot of the time, specifically when the xmen are trying to win over rogue (even though sometimes he tends to bulldoze over others in an effort to save his friends, regardless of whether or not they need it, he’s not an amazing listener at first but that changes with time lol), and d) it’s so much less annoying because he’s a teenager. the whole premise of this show is basically just the xmen but as kids except for Xavier, Storm & Wolverine, so all the stupid and/or annoying shit he does can be chalked up to him just being a dumbass kid. And it’s not as if he doesn’t learn from his mistakes or admit his faults because he does! He’s definitely bullheaded and he fucks up but he’s usually pretty good at admitting fault and moving on from it, which I was veryyyy relieved by. Like specifically his relationship with Rogue & Lance Alvers from the Brotherhood of Evil (yes that’s the actual name, I know it’s a ridiculously over-the-top, looney toons-esque kind of crazy, I still love it) is really interesting because you get the impression that Scott’s very set in this idea that people are (mostly) incapable of changing and so he’s very skeptical when Lance tries to initiate this whole courtship with Kitty, but when there’s inevitably a team up with the xmen and the brotherhood of dramatic names it ends with a sense of mutual respect from both scott and Lance… at least for that episode. With rogue it’s a bit different bc she’s not like looking to do harm, which scott recognizes (and I think he sees a bit of himself in her bc rogue is so lost when we’re first introduce to her and I can only imagine how he felt after losing his family & discovering he can shoot uncontrollable lasers from his eyes in the span of 24 hours) butttttt this is way too long already so I digress lol.
Again, don’t know much about the 90s cartoons but evo scott summers is wonderful, I loved the show when I was a kid and I still like it a lot even now :)

Cypress Morgenstern
A frighteningly intelligent and ambitious user of Psychic-type Pokémon, Cypress has always believed in mind over matter as he has been practicing psychokinesis nearly his whole life. When he was in his early teens, an unfortunate accident led to him being paralyzed from the waist down and necessitating the use of a wheelchair for independent mobility. Thankfully his prior training has made it considerably easier for him to adapt than it might be for some, as he can use his mental abilities to self-propel while keeping his hands free, as well as briefly lift his chair a few inches off the ground to hop curbs if he doesn’t feel like taking the long way around to the curb cut. (Stairs are, of course, still a no-go.) He understands that this is a rather unique advantage to him, of course, and as such is an advocate for making both the Cantessy League and worldwide Pokémon Leagues more accessible to those with disabilities that previously barred them access.
-----
Man, this is one of the Cantessy trainers I was most anticipating being able to share, I’m real proud of how Cypress came out. I figured it’d be cool if someone with psychokinetic abilities who ended up using a wheelchair for whatever reason could use their mental abilities to move their chair, and I’m not the only one. Disregarding my lack of memory wrt the Xmen franchise (can y’all tell me if Professor X can do this? or are all his powers about telepathy instead?), a buddy told me they independently came up with a psychic-specializing trainer who iirc is fully paralyzed and uses her powers to propel her chair and speak via telepathy and that’s a neat way of handling that concept :o EDIT: I can’t believe I forgot to mention this, prolly cus my notes have it listed separately, but Cypress runs the Lexville planetarium! He also used to be the city’s gym leader before he got promoted to Elite Four, and the gym was in his planetarium before it got moved to the sports arena for the new leaders’ purposes. There’s probably still an arena in there, but if it’s in any sort of battling use it’s just for Cypress and people he trusts to have practice battles. Or it’s been turned into a storage space or an alternate area for shows, idk.
Cypress is one of the two Elite Four members who would be there regardless of what hypothetical version the player would have. His team would consist of an Espeon, a Gardevoir, a Malevoleye (regional evolution to the rock/psychic Sableye variant), a Galarian Rapidash, and an Alakazam.

I feel like one of the major downside to the mutants, and by extension the xmen coming to the mcu. is the unnecessary conflict with the avengers. because the conflict between those two teams has never made sense, and I really hope that they never go that route in the mcu.
Look i know absolutely nothing form the comics i just look at the marvel 616 wiki pages of my favorite characters once in a while and learn random tidbits of information that turn out to be wrong or misinterpreted the next time i look it up
i just think that FOX X universe has a completely different vibe than the MCU and i don’t see why they would have to reunite these wildly conflicting storylines instead of focusing on the characters we haven’t met yet or adding new ones.
They’re clearly doing that with all these new shows and movies and they’re already going to introduce these fun new characters so why would they add the xmen which have their own complete storyline that doesn’t fit the MCU at all?
The whole mutant issue deserves the focus and attention it got in the X-men movies, not to be some random storyline in the MCU. Though i genuinely think the team of Wandavision is doing an amazing job, and phase 4 looks promising af, i don’t want to trust the MCU suddenly knows what they’re doing quite yet.
Personally i hope they bring in the concept of mutants, but that they make it their own with characters we haven’t seen in the FOX movies and a completely different and unrelated storyline.
TL;DR read A Treatise of Evolution and Extinction for some quality avengers in the x-verse content

My thoughts on Gambit && non-comic book appearance.
Tumblr media
The 1990s X - Men (Cartoon.)
The 1990′s comic while depicting a more cliche version of Remy, it’s the most accurate in terms of his motives && ambitions. I say it’s a more cliche Gambit, because it follows an earlier portrayal of Remy that used to be in my opinion you guessed it, a bit of a cliche. This was before Remy was given character growth, he was made to be the lovable rogue, charming, smoking, motorbike ridding ‘bad boy’ with a heart of gold. He was also originally created to be the heartbreaker that falls in love && that’s the Remy we get here.
It’s classic 90s Gambit through && through, and in my opinion on it's cliches aside, it’s the closest && by far best portrayal we’ve gotta outside of the comics. This is because as I’ve said earlier, his characteristics are in place, his motives are very in line with comic Gambit && that’s probably because he’s in no way an au version of the character.
Remy is a flirt, Remy is a xmen that's not always trusted, Remy is trying to do good. He forms a big brother type relationship with the teenager Jubilee [ Very on brand. ] && spends his time as a snarky side character that flirts with Rogue.
X - Men Evolution (Cartoon.)
Look I love Evolution, it was my childhood, && while they provide an interesting version of Gambit. In my eyes, it's probably the worst. Look I love the character designs for most of the characters. [ not Remy he has the worst facial hair / hair cut ever. ugh. ] But that aside, his morals && motives don’t add up with the Remy I know && love.
Here he is seen to work for Magento, [  ???? Yeah I know. ] something that will always be laughable in canon. Gambit we assume sells out his services for money && while it’s not totally out of the realm of possibilities to have him do so. It feels like in order for Remy to sell his skils no questions asked, means you’d have to first strip away all the hardships, all the development, all the small life experiences that make Remy LeBeau, Remy.  [ Also if Remy just wanted money...Idk it would be easier to just steal himself some gems. ]
It is however impossible that Remy would ever willingly attack children/teenagers for money. In Canon Remy has always put the safety of children first, he has a weakness when he sees a kid in trouble, && having him there as one of the bad guys fighting the teenage x-men, feels all kinds of wrong.  Also, Remy would not work well with others, he’s the type of character that walks on the line between right && wrong, && to have him as one of the bad guys (even if he’s redeemed later.) it feels wrong. I also feel kinda iffy about the implied future Rogue && Gambit relationship. Especially since Remy is shown to be at least in his 20s? &&  an adult, && Rogue is still very much a high school student…so….hard pass on that.
Wolverine and the X - men. (Cartoon.)
Wolverine && the Xmen was enjoyable, I was okay with his character design, he looked like Gambit, he sounded like Gambit…&& he even acted like Gambit.(somewhat.)…but…again for Remy to put so many people in danger for money, it feels very weak to me. This can only be explained as a young Gambit, Gambit before he lost control of his powers, an AU Gambit that never had to lose everything && was never banished.  But this would make him what 17 ? && that is not the Remy we get in this cartoon. This is the only way because as dumb as Remy is, he’s not that irresponsible. Usually when Gambit does something fucked up, (that he later regrets) it’s in the name of survival, or in order to save his loved ones.
If Remy needed the money he can easily get it through easier means, getting involved with an anti-mutant senator screams a bad ides, && Remy is not dum. (only when it comes to loved ones.)
Wolverine Origins. (Live-action film.)
I hate this film. I hate everything about it, from Gambit’s dumb character design to the way he talks. Why does Gambit have a dumb hat you ask me??? Who the hell knows, because I sure don’t. Why would Gambit owe anyone money? IDK, to give him a ‘cool’ line to say to wolverine? This movie was possibly the worst X-man film ever made, && you can’t change my mind. None of it makes sense, && Gambit doesn’t feel like Gambit. && it’s only made worse with the knowledge that one of Game of Thrones writers wrote this movie. (I hate them && I hate that they wrote the only movie with my boy in it.)

They could have written wolverine so much better as a chubby hairy bisexual canadian immortal. Hell if they wanted to force him into Scott and Jean he might as well sleep with both of them at once
honestly i just can’t stand him with jean. Like, on her end, why would she ever downgrade like that, even if she still keeps scott.  And on logan’s end, just, ew.... aside from the whole immortal thing, he always feels just way too old for her.
I like a logan who sees these two lovebirds and is like ‘homg i have to tease the shit out of them, they are precious and i ship it’ and is like, gerblin-friend ™.
I also really love what xmen evolution did which is just take the one quality everyone can agree they love about logan: his papa-wolf-protectiveness, and just hike it up to 11: he’s just a fuckin tired adult babysitting a quickly growing crowd of teens and he’s gotten to see jean and scott really come into their own and he’s like ‘y’all are fuckin adorable idiot kids but please for the love of FUCK talk to each other’.
youtube
[start at 2:12. hopefully it’ll auto-start from there, but just in case]
he never belittled scott or jean, he was never gross to either of them, he treated them frankly, which was a nice contrast to how charles and most other adults talked down to them (y’know, as adults tend to do to kids). It separated logan in an interesting way character-wise, gave them all a great relationship seeing as scott and jean were at the mansion the longest and are the most trusted (mission-wise, maturity-wise, etc).  He was like, the gruff uncle who you could go to to hash shit out and who you could trust to not beat around the bush and who’d have your back no matter what.  I like a presence like that in scott and jean’s life (especially scott because fuck xavier, amirite), and wolverine was a great fit there.

Thoughts on House of X/Powers of X
((Spoilers)) ((Long Post)) ((Just finished House of X/Powers of X))
Okay, so here are my immediate thoughts:
1. Xavier must have serious neck pains from having that big ass helmet on his head.
2. Why they do sabertooth like that *tears* free my homie.
3. Mr. Sinister is crazy and hilarious, he had me dying
4. Was it just me, or was anyone else getting serious cult vibes from Krakoa. Like, I get the whole point of the island is to separate mutants from the rest of the world, and I’m down with that 100%, but everything just looks so fantastical and everybody is happy and dancing around and shit. And that whole scene where Storm is re-introducing the Xmen and their all naked and everyone is gathering around their naked bodies like their gods on earth…I mean, they all looked hella hot, so I didn’t mind it.
I just feel like everything is working too well in their favor. And this is with the assumption that Moira hasn’t gone back and changed the timeline again.
5. So, basically, every time someone dies, they are copied into another body like a printing machine. Think about it, the original soul/essence of that person is forever gone, so what goes in the empty ‘husk’ is not actually that person but a copy of their essence.
6. If Xavier didn’t know how to bring mutants back, I wonder if he would’ve sent the Xmen on the suicide mission to destroy mother mold- or maybe they would’ve came up with a better plan
(the humans didn’t know the Xmen had that information, so they did have a little time to plan before mother mold came online- matter fact, mother mold almost came online prematurely because the Xmen showed up)
7. I, personally, do not like Moira’s mutant power. I think its interesting, but the idea that someone can go back and redo a whole timeline feels like a crutch. I can’t trust anything that’s happening, because I don’t know at what point in the story has that timeline changed (But I’m assuming everything that is happening ‘presently’ in the timeline is Moira in her tenth life). And when she dies and returns to the womb, is she returning to the beginning of that timeline, or is she in a whole other alternate universe (like a multiverse kind of thing).
Also, every time she does a redo, she’s changing what is naturally supposed to happen. Everyone is essentially at her mercy. We see in the beginning she wasn’t initially using her powers to help mutants, she was trying to make them extinct, until Destiny threatened to end her for good. (So if Destiny didn’t exist, Moira would have ‘cured’ mutant kind)
8. One thing I like about Moira is when she finally decides to help her own kind. But the event on Genosha still took place, so for her to stand aside and let 16 million mutants die… I mean, maybe she wouldn’t have gotten Magneto on her team if she saved Genosha. Also, I don’t think Cerebro had the ability to record people’s essence when this event occurred, so all of those mutants are likely dead dead.
9. One thing I really like was the mutants establishing their own dominion on earth. Like, we’re here, there’s gonna be more of us, and their ain’t shit ya’ll humans can do about it. And the humans prove their point over and over again on why they can’t co exist.
At first I thought, why doesn’t Moira go back and try to reason with humans not to create dumb shit like the sentinels, master mold, and mother mold (which all lead to Nimrod). But then I realized that, even she convinced some people, they are always those few people who don’t give a flying shit and are stuck in their ways.
And I think in the comic they mention that, even if mother mold was not created, humans may create or come across technology that could potentially lead to Nimrod.
Also, even if humans didn’t create nimrod (which they still do) they would have found a way to evolve themselves through technology (hence the existence of the blue people. Its interesting that despite having essentially won against mutants and reaching the peak of human evolution and advancement, they still found themselves lacking.)
10. Overall, it was a good read. I like the fresh take, but I’m still kind of wary on where the story is leading. Maybe they decided to change the narrative to appeal to a newer, younger audience. I don’t think the story is that complicated, but its definitely very wordy and if you have no prior knowledge of the Xmen universe I feel some aspects could go right over your head. It kind of reminds me of reading Watchmen, you may have to read it a few times to really absorb everything that’s happening (and there’s a lot happening)
Final note: I’ve loved Xmen for as long as I can remember, and one of the things that made me love this mutant world is how much it relates to real life. I literally can relate to their struggles, their pain, and understand their reasoning because their life is my life. There are millions of real life people on this planet, who suffer just like the mutants suffer. At least the mutants got powers.

Title: Know It All
Chapter 7
Nightcrawler fanfic (I do not own the X-men or the gif).
Violet Ashbourne is a gifted human hacker in possession of a radio, a secret device that gains her access to a large underground information network and electronics all over the world. Human and mutant coexistence has always been her goal, but will the betrayal of her mutant mother and father- once partners to her rise to power- distort her beliefs? Will the X-men be able to save her from her own pride and ambition? Or will she sacrifice everything, including the only boy she’s ever trusted, for vengeance?
Kurt's Pov
Logan and Mystique fly the jet smoothly as Kitty, Evan, Toad and I sit behind them, eager to reach this man, Magneto, and his asteroid where he is holding our friends. I can't stop stressing about Violet. She wasn't at the mansion when we left and no one can get a hold of her. What if she gets hurt? What if she's trapped somewhere? Would I be more relieved if she was a mutant? I won't lie- I would be.
The jet's communicator starts to emit static. "What the?" Logan bangs on the controls to shut it off, but it's like something is overriding his commands. "Lo...loga...n?!" A female voice jumps across the frequency. "LLL...Logan! Stop!"
"Is that?" Evan perks up.
"Look down!" The female voice yells again.
We all glance out of the window as Logan tips the aircraft slightly. A figure is waving their arms frantically, standing on a red sports car that looks exactly like Scott's. "This kid is full of surprises," Logan mumbles as he already concludes who it is.
The jet is taken gently to the ground and we all turn towards the hatch to see Violet rushing in and taking a seat. "How'd you get out here?!" Kitty asks as we shake from the jet readying to take off again. "I was..." Violet catches herself mid-sentence, making eye contact with Logan, " I was looking for you."
"WE were looking for YOU." Evan corrects, "You were gone since this morning, we checked the subbasement and Forge said he hadn't seen you since yesterday."
Violet shrinks in her seat, "What does that matter!? We have to find the others, do you know where they are?"
Logan complies with her change of subject, " Magneto has them on an asteroid. He is trying to turn them against us by offering some type of 'evolution' to their powers."
"Magento?" Violet whispers, "He's still alive?"
Logan turns around, "You know him?"
Violet presses her lips together, "I've heard of him." She glances quickly at Mystique's judging eyes and back at Logan.
Logan squints, trying to detect her lie, but he just turns back and flies the jet higher.
Mystique, however, keeps looking at Violet like she wants to tear her apart. My jaw clenches and I shift so Mystique cannot see Violet.
Logan briefs us on what to expect when we arrive, but I can't stop thinking about Violet until I get the nerve to turn around. She is squirming in her seat. I am not sure if it is from the secret she is trying to keep up with or...
"Not a fan of planes?" I ask trying to sedate my curiosity.
She nods, gripping the armrest tightly. I offer my hand to her and she takes it without a second thought, part of me actually believed that she didn't even acknowledge the three fingers.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Violet's POV
We arrive at a clear desert, shrouded in heavy clouds and monstrous sandhills. In the midst of scattered lightning, no doubt created by storm to guide us to their location,  a floating asteroid sends fear through my skin. Although I am relieved that my father did not act against the Xmen, I am worried about the others. If I get to close to one of them, they will be as helpless as I am. I've never gone into danger like this, not willingly at least; just thinking about it makes my eyes water. I let go of Kurt's hand so to distance myself from him. He looks at me immediately but does not say a word.
The jet hovers on top of the asteroid, preparing to land when two red beams shoot at us. The plane shakes violently and Logan struggles to pull up as we dive into the building on the asteroid. Everyone's yelling is sporadic until it meshes into unison. I catch a glips out the window and see Scott and his brother Alex grinning proudly, white hair flowing and free of any restrictions. Seeing Scott without his glasses, you can see how content he is but at what cost?
The crash was loud all at once and replaced by muffled voices coming from outside the jet. I groan from the pressure of my weight hoisted by my seatbelt. My neck cracks as I look around at the empty jet, the terminal controls sparking and seats are torn. Mystique is exiting the hatch above me, "They left me?" I mutter and unclasp my seatbelt.
I jump out the hatch, avoiding knots of loose wires and see the Xmen fighting the brotherhood and mystique lunging at Magneto. "Violet!" I hear Jean yell from the clear tubes that were holding her, storm, Xavier, and Rogue. I run to them, dodging the others. I lean over the terminal next to the tubes looking for a way to release them until I feel someone's eyes on me. I turn and see Magneto, shock, and disgust behind his helmet, "YOU!"
I knew he'd remember me.
Mystique jumps out of nowhere and roundhouses him in the chest, giving me a window to continue hacking. The tubes fall quickly and everyone runs in different directions except for Xavier, "there are other students here! Magneto has trapped them in another room, you have to find them!" Xavier grips my hand so that I don't miss a single word he said. I nod, terrified that he meant I had to find them alone. I look back and see Kurt knock out Blob in one teleported move, landing perfectly. I run past him, cut off my Logan and Sabertooth throwing each other around. I am a fish out of water here, watching my distance from each Xmen and from the Brotherhood's attacks. The ground under me throws off my balance, sending me to hit the floor. Lance sends another tremor towards kitty and spike. I stumble back up and hurry through the door, away from the fighting. I come to a hall, lined with steel doors, but which are the students behind?
I open each one, leaving once I couldn't spot anyone.
"Violet!" a student yells once I enter the room filled with trapped kids. I hurry to the terminal next to them, repeating the release process.
"This will be easy." Pietro's voice laughs from behind me, but before I can turn to defend myself I am hurled to the floor. "I don't need my powers to deal with you." he laughs from above me. I look passed my blurry white strands and roll on my back as Pietro tackles me. Struggling to keep his blow from my face I feel my sweat start to mix with my premature tears. "You don't think we remember what you did to us?!" Pietro starts to yell. I glance over at my watch seeing the circuits spark from the cracked glass. Piero's eyes were now enraged and all his natural strength leans on my small body. He spits at me, "I wanted to tear you apart the moment I saw you on that camp, but I'll settle for this."
I saw an opening while he was monologuing and connected the two wires and clicked twice on the silver crown. "AHH!" He yelled as electricity sparked in his face and he toppled over me. I pant, pushing his body away from me. The eyes of the students bring me back to reality and I quickly unlock their tube cages.
All of us run into the main hall, following the rest of the Xmen to the Xjet. We all gather in, waiting for Scott and Alex to make their decision; stay with magneto or the Xmen.
"Here they come!" Jean yells as she reaches out for Scott and Alex. Before they can hop in, the jet collapses with the hanger, everyone holding on to anything they can reach and bracing for impact. Logan pulls up last minute and we watch, powerless, as Scott and Alex fall from the sky. Two beams break through the clouds as they use their powers to land safely alongside the Xjet.
Crumbling boulders sink into the sand around us as the asteroid is sinking lower on our position.
"Ready, bro?" Scott grins and holds Alex's hand. "Ready."
I shield my eyes from the orange and red blast as they shoot the asteroid into dust.
We all exit the jet to find Scott and Alex laughing tiredly, their white hair replaced with their normal locks. They must have overloaded their evolved powers and returned to normal. Jean offers Scott his glasses, "I knew you would do the right thing." she smiled. "Yeah well, the white hair didn't really look good on us." Alex laughs, reaching over to tussle Scott's hair. Alex catches me in his sights, "Definitely looks good on you though." he purrs.
Scott smacks him on the head, "She's too old for you." he scowls.
I laugh half-heartedly and hold my arms close, afraid they will fall off. While everyone is counting their fingers and toes I back away from everyone. I still feel Pietro's rage on me; it brings back all of the guilt.
I did what I had to. Saying that usually makes it go away.
"Violet?" Kurt's soft german voice peels through the anxiety.
I smile, "I'm okay."
Lance's voice catches my attention as he speaks to blob and toad, "Two orbs escaped the asteroid before it exploded. Mystique and Magneto are still out there."
I look up at the night sky, its stars illuminating the clouds.
Magneto is one more enemy I cannot afford right now.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
A couple of weeks have passed since our first encounter with Magneto and I think everyone is still a bit shaken up. Those kids have never been abducted like that, it must have been terrifying. I'm not saying I am immune to shock, not since Moriarty kidnapped me, but I understand the helplessness they feel. I've felt it all my life.
"You're up early." I groan, rubbing the crust from my eyes. Forge hides his jump and stares at me as I walk towards his workbench. "Yeah, I figured I'd work on the Xray configurations a bit more." He chuckles, returning to his work.
I stay at a distance and rub my arms awake, thinking about how harsh I was to him when we first met. "Listen, I appreciate you helping me so much."
Forge stares at me, blinking repeatedly perhaps to make sure he isn't dreaming. "I just figured you didn't want to stick around so much, that's why I've been working more."
"That won't be necessary."
He looks up, shocked at my cool composer.
There is no rush anymore, I now know my parents are against me, Magneto is against me, and Moriarty will most likely try to look for me to finish the job. This is the safest place I can be right now without putting Nisha, Bronco, and the growing population of Sanctuary at risk.
"You can take your time on it, I know you will come up with something. Plus I'd rather not have something blow up in my face due to your oversight. I'm sorry I was so hostile about results. I'm sure you could tell that I'm not very good with people."
"You made it apparent." He grins, standing up straight and took the chance to touch on a more personal question, "Your accent, you're from London?"
"Yes," I lean over his bench noticing he did not mind his powers being disabled. "Have you traveled there before?"
"No, I've always wanted to though. It always seemed so movie-ish to me. The food, people, and sights. A new adventure and someone to fall in love with around every corner."
"Well now, that's the romantic version."
"You don't like it?"
"Now I didn't say that." I begin to reminisce about my home before the radio came into my life. Cracked floorboards that croaked like a giant frog was living in the nearly flooded basement. A single flat with shedding paint and batches of cobweb bushels that replaced our food. My parent's worried voices staining the kitchen table and black coffee rippling in the mugs, echoing their failed job hunts. While most kids played with dolls and tea parties I became homeless, looking for pretty looking rocks to raise my parent's spirits. At age 10 I finally became useful and apprenticed with a fellow homeless man with a skill for hacking, but who eventually was too stoned to hack ATMs himself. After he taught me enough he was replaced by my regretful, crime resorted father who guided me to banks and personal computers in his temporary jobs. I was a natural, stealing money right from people's paychecks. When I think of how humble and guilty my parents USED to be, I don't regret what I did. I think that is when I actually became their tool instead of their child.
"I didn't exactly have an easy childhood," I admit to Forge, "Sightseeing is only enjoyable when you aren't trying to survive while you do it."
"I guess it is different when you actually live somewhere than visiting. Would you go back?"
"When the time is right."
We look at empty spots around the room, trying to come up with a new conversation starter while the window is still open.
"I was curious, the gadgets that you make, are there any for self-defense?"
"Uh, yeah a couple of prototypes."
I scope his workbench, too afraid to admit that Pietro's attack still made me uneasy.
"You can use my workbench to tinker with them if you'd like, I'll be in the Xray room for a while anyway." Forge gathers some tools and heads for the door, "by the way, I know you don't go to school like the others but there is a dance happening soon and I know a couple of people who want to ask you." he winks, "Just a fair warning."
The door shuts behind him. Is it wrong that I hope Kurt is among those people? It would definitely explain the dresses kitty texted me about- all blue ironically. I smile aware that coming to close to Kurt can be dangerous but keeping away from him would drive me insane. If my father used him against me, well, let's just say he won't have to worry about dying in jail once I get my hands on him.
I glance at Forge's workbench and see a damaged, retractable baton thrown to the side. It is more advanced than the ones police forces use, maybe army designed? The metal that makes up the baton is heavy, a pure, silver rod and deadly without a doubt. I wonder if an electrical addition will make it more effective.

HoXPoX Liveblog: Powers of X#5
Keeping it going with PoX5! As Always; The Link vuv
Continuing the HoXPoX readthrough with Powers of X#5! Cover's another Savage Land variant the character drawing isn't AS extreme as the last one, tho the women are still preternaturally thin and Jean's boobs have that unnaturally robust&high tacked-on look so common to comics :T
Opening X Quote: "they will think we are doing one thing, but the truth is we are doing something altogether different". DECEPTION!!! I'm wondering when Moira's gonna come back into this story given her disappearance from the middle books.
X0: The XMen, Dallas TX, Year 1. Xavier's talking to Forge aboout making the mind-copying upgrades to Cerebro. SUMMARY TECHNICAL DIALOGUE my favorite owo owo owo There's talking in a room filled with this cool Ocean hologram and I love it.
(also they're not using the awful color scheme of 80s&90s Forge, which I thank them for -____-)
Here's a question: is there any discourse out there abt how MUCH LIKE Forge Solid Snake looks? Cuz they look father and son :| :|
AAAUUUGH This Maniacal Xavier face has slain me! I will Share It uwu:
Tumblr media
GAAAAAAH LOOK AT THIS MANIPULATIVE NERD!!! i love him uvu uvu uvu
Tumblr media
Infopage on Cerebro 7.0 Most of it's just worldbuilding technical summary, but there's an interesting tidbit that Xavier has replaced his own "self" with a previous "copy" twice. Wonder if we'll learn about those instances :?
AHHH Also: Moira's in a No Place(basically Krakoa pocket-planes that are undetectable&impenetrable). Wonder what she's up to?
Cut to X1 Year 10, the Louvre. Mags and Xavier are confronting Frost over something infront of the Winged Victory of Samothrace, no time to go into the symbolism of that just now. The questionable motivation and involvement with the Cult of the Great Gods seems telling.
there are more basic lvls to it tho: Nike's in the background, Xavier looking at it, when he asks her to help them form a government for Krakoa; the implication, he's looking/considering their victory, is obvsl.  It's above him as he explains his drug masterstroke to her.
There's an interesting thing here where Mags is positioned as the mid-point/referee/border btw Emma and Charles. When X mentions the nation of Krakoa, she turns to Mags as someone she trusts to be the "voice of reason" against concentrating mutants in one place(risking Genoa)
idk how common it's been leading up to this series, but I like how HoXPoX recognizes the recklessness danger Xavier's maximalist dedication to Mainstreaming sometimes puts mutants in.
to be clear XMen villains positions were often explicitly and cartoonishly villainous and self-serving(for instance Hellfire was long just cartoonish mutant supremacist aristos, much like Mags), but this reimagining along more preservationist lines allows it to be a real argument
Like: theyre positing a Frost for whom the Hellfire Club/Corp was a way to live unseen among humans, wielding power in a way that could carve some safety out for some mutants. I think that's a bit charitable given the clear class elements of Hellfire's role in the canon but still
"This is that day youve been waiting for/to make right what went wrong" they say, Nike behind Mags(he'd just told Frost abt their repop plans; signaling he'd convinced her to listen?)
!!This is interesting: She asks how it's going to be different than all the other times, Mags says "let us show you" and presents one of the Krakoa flowers... but it's in something which looks A LOT like the "Seer Self" of the elder from PoX4!!
Cut to Later, Krakoa XD She agrees to help.  The negotiate terms. Xavier takes a VERY WEIRD adn formal supplicant posture that I dont know how to describe but it, again, reminiscent of dance, I'll show you:
Tumblr media
They offer her control of the Krakoa drug trade&the legitimate face of their diplomacy in exchange for two governing seats and bring Shaw back into Hellfire to run covert ops, Frost's face is Priceless:
Tumblr media
an infopage on the initial gov-structure of Krakoa, "the Quiet Council" it DOES NOT seem like a great system AT ALL; twelve person unelected council, half of the membership secret, Krakoa itself only gets one seat/vote though technically two in its "faction" with cypher.
Honestly this seems most like a cabinet without a head of state? Of the members we know, each is head of a particular department or major faction(X the Xmen, Mags the brotherhood, ect) Seems guaranteed to encourage factionalism, backroom conspiracism, and opacity
Cut to later that year, Xavier offering citizenship and safety on Krakoa, various cuts of "villains" hearing his offer telepathically(including a p cool redesign for OmegaRed and his allies), ending somewhere which looks like its underwater(Atlantis?).
Yup it's Namor(who I guess is a mutant now?? Wasnt aware of that). Namor rejects the offer, and questions Xavier's sincerity in belief in mutant(and X's own) superiority(as Namor pegs the reasoning behind Krakoa).
I know I keep saying this but the supremacist vibe of all this is disquieting. You can be right abt mutant persecution without ALSO being right that mutant life is "more valuable" than others, esp when "value" is just an utterly noxious moral standard to begin with.
Cut back to X3 Phalanx presents its terms. The elder is destroyed. The Librarian has Questions, asking Nimrod to extrapolate what's going on(Nimrod believes Phalanx has agreed) Nice joke here: "primordial Kirbons" for Jack Kirby. Paying him would have been better :T
The gist: Blackholes are a gigantic networked Machine-Brains, Phalanxes are created by this to hunt for societies worth adding to its intelligence, the Phalanx as agreed to incorporate them but needs energy to do this, it will eat the entire planet to power the transfer. Oops.
Another infopage of Society types, this time universe-spanning. Adding Titans(singularity intellects), Strongholds(allied titans fighting to consume others), and Dominions(allied strongholds which are effectively gods) All transcend time(interesting implications re Moira)
Another interesting bit: Dominions are noted as fearing Galactus and The Phoenix as possible threats. The Phoenix of course can use human-mutants as hosts.
Hmm, it ends with a Namor quote. Interesting...
That was a Good and Dense one ^v^ I'll have to think about it for a bit, but I'm getting the feeling that, basically, the Mutants are working on a way to achieve the same sort of "transcendence" as the machine-society path, but their own way, and mechsocs fear this(Phoenix).
Also I'm curious how the Celestials fit into all this. Mutants are the result of thier experimentation, so could it be that they are a sort of forerunner of a biological second option to the more common machine-ascendancy, which mechsocs wrok hard to prevent arising again?
The idea being that there are at least two paths to "transcendence"; one biological, communal, andindividual-preserving through pseudomagical "mutation"/self-directed evolution/cybernetics, and the more common machine-intelligence-consumption route.

Left in Darkness Prologue Xmen evolution Fanfiction
submitted by: wildtsukai He remembers waking before the sun rises that morning. He remembers noting it’s rise into the sky, turning the darkness of night into a faint blue with golden rays stretching out. There were birds somewhere in the trees, making their morning calls. As he ran through the tree lot, he took it all in. To him, this was the height of life. And this is what he first recalls when he comes to. How the day began. How beautiful it had been. A direct contrast to what he see’s when he opens his eyes. At first, he see’s nothing but darkness. But his eyes soon adjust. He see’s the stone walls, the dirty floor. Pipes run vertically across the ceiling. He can hear water dripping somewhere. And deep thuds from above. How did it come to this? There had been a call for the team to get together. Magneto. He was enacting a series of events at a anti-mutant gathering. There were too many innocent people at risk. They had to intervene. They had to do everything they could to protect those people, regardless if they wanted to be saved by mutants or not. There had been chaos but their training had enabled them to keep a clear head. Still, Magneto’s Acolytes gave everything they had and more. They didn’t care about those around them. Or the chaos they were causing. In fact, there were a few of them that seemed to enjoy it. Regardless, he and his team mates did not back down. They fought as hard as they could. Did they win? He doesn’t know. He hopes they did. He hopes they were able to keep lives from being lost. And secretly, he hopes that their actions changed a few of those people’s views on mutant’s. He also hopes they are close to finding him. There must have been clues or something that will lead them to his location. They can not be far now. Closing his eyes, now recalls how he ended up in this predictiment. It was the woman with an injured leg. Some rubble was about to crush her to death. He had teleported to her side the second he saw her and then teleported them to safety. She thanked him. But not in English. No, she used his native tongue. German. He turned to her but to his surprise, she changed into the last person he wanted to see. His birth mother, Mystique. She said something else in German before quickly injecting him with something in his neck. As the drug quickly worked it’s way through his system, he stares at her in disbelief. For what she had said was ‘I’m sorry it’s come to this.’ It was a strange thing for her to say for she never truly apologizes, rather she blames her actions on something other than herself. But here, she hadn’t. And if he hadn’t loss consciousness, he would have been very alarmed. But he is now as he hears a door open. His eyes narrow when he hears his name spoken quietly, barely above a whisper. “Kurt? Son? Are you awake?” “I’m not your son,” he hisses out. He tries to shift, but whatever his wrists are pinned to doesn’t give so much as an inch. The chains around his ankles shift painfully, biting into his skin. “Fine. Kurt, then. Kurt, I need you to listen to me,” Mystique tells him, casting a glance behind her as she silently decends the stairs. “Save it. You have had your chance for this heart to heart talk before…” “This is different! You are in danger Kurt! You have no idea what they are planning to do to you. No one here is an ally Kurt. And your team mates will not be able to find you if you stay here. I…can get you out of here. Before they put their plan for you in action,” she tells him. “What do you want in return?” Kurt asks with an eye roll. “Nothing. Kurt, I know how you must feel about me. But right now I need you to set that aside. Please, trust me this one time,” she pleas. “Forget it Mystique. I don’t know what you are after or what you intend to drag me into, but I will not be used by you,” Kurt states firmly, wanting nothing more than for her to leave. “Kurt…so be it. I tried,” Mystique replies before shifting into a black cat just before the door opens again. Kurt watches as she runs behind the stairs as a few men walk down them. Kurt see’s her jump up between them and quickly runs through the door before it closes, leaving him with these older mutants. Suddenly he wishes he had accepted her offer as they smile at him, cracking their knuckles. When they leave, he is in terrible pain. Like at the anti-mutant gathering, they didn’t hold back. He knows he has some cracked ribs. Every breath he takes in is pure agony. They didn’t care. They didn’t care that he is just a kid. Nor did they ask him any questions, in an attempt to gather some information about his team. All they cared about was hurting him. And that they did. Now he is hanging from his wrists, his battered body blending into the darkness around him. He struggles to recall the memory of that morning. When he closes his eyes, he see’s not the trees but fists. He doesn’t see the sky growing lighter, instead he see’s darkness. Instead of the birds, he hears the men laughing. But he doesn’t give up. He keeps trying. And just before he passes out, he manages to draw that memory out and plays it before his eyes. Upstairs, a man with wild dirty hair, squeezes through the front door. He passes the other mutants in the room and makes his way up a set of stairs. He ignores the black cat that hisses at him before dashing off. Soon he is standing before the door of the room he had been summoned to. He takes a deep breath before opening it. Inside was once an office space. But due to either some tragedy or negligence, the walls and ceiling were gone, leaving the space open to the elements. Hovering off to the side is the one that has once again called him into service. “You have need of me?” “That I do Mastermind. I need you to attend to a young man we have here. I need him to talk. Then…as requested…he is to serve. I prefer he does this…willingly. If he needs to be broken, then break him. I assume you can do this?” Magneto questions. “Your first request can be done easily. However, your second one…is extensive. It will take time…” Mastermind replies. “But it can be done?” “Yes,” Mastermind agrees. “Good. I want you to begin right away. I want my answers by tonight,” Magneto tells him. “As you wish,” Mastermind replies before taking his leave. His fingers flex. He has not used his power in this way for some time. Strangely, he is excited by the concept of having such an opportunity to do so now. It only takes him a few minutes to have the blue furred mutant talking. He watches as Magneto asks his questions and the X-man answers with an emotionless tone. His yellow eyes are dull and staring straight through Magneto. He listens to the questions and answers with boredom. He has no interest in the improved security at the institute or the powers of the new mutants or the routines of Wolverine. All he is interested in is diving back into that young man’s mind. He already has a plan to fulfill Magneto’s wish. It will take time. Weeks. He could do a quick job but the results would be sloppy at best. No, with this he will take his time. It will be his best work. And with such work, it guarantees his freedom from Magneto. He feels a slight bit of guilt. The young man he is watching had done nothing to earn what is about to unfold on him. Nothing other than daring to oppose Magneto. Still, it is better that it is this young man that suffers than himself. There has to be a payment in such things. Sacrifices. So he will allow this young man to be that sacrifice so he can finally be free. Magneto’s shadow covers him, gaining his attention. “You may continue your work. I have the information I need,” is all the man tells him before taking his leave. Mastermind watches the powerful mutant fly off into the night. Then he looks down at the youth in question. He is still sitting on his knees but now staring at the ground. There is a look of confusion on his face. He walks over to the X-man. His eyes glow as he reaches out. The blue mutant let’s out a gasp when he see’s him but doesn’t move. It’s as he had put into his mind, to remain in place when he see’s the man in the long coat. It makes things easier. Tonight will be the first session. His goal is to erase the memory of the past week except for the memory of his capture, then convince the mind that a whole year has passed instead of a day. A year spent in excruciating pain and anguish. And training. Developing such habits as to avoid eye contact with others and to remain in the shadows when not needed. He ignores the strangled sounds the youth is making as he works. When he finishes, the X-man blinks then lowers his head. The first session is a success. But it is only the first step. He will wait a week before commencing another session. In that one, he will make the X-man lose all hope in his team, believing his betrayal in giving Magneto those answers is the cause for his team to abandon him. And another year will have passed instead of a week. The third session, with another implanted year, where he will lose his voice, becoming a mute while also being completely submissive. The fourth and final week, he will make the blue furred mutant forget his name. He will obey any and all orders, even if it results in self harm. His mind being reduced to that just barely above a docile beast. Yes, this should please the Master of Magnetism. It should give him his freedom once and for all. It will also please those grunts on the floor below them. Again he feels some regret. But in these times, even heroes can fall.

Know It All: Xmen evolution fanfic  Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Title: Know It All
Chapter Three
Nightcrawler fanfic (I do not own the X-men or the gif).
The bus's small window fits the picturesque landscape of overlapping trees and emerald groves. The tranquil squirrels and deer drift carefully along the thick branches and bubbly bushes. Evan's pointing finger drags everyone to shoot to the windows, a breath of relaxation washing over us once our eyes meet the mirroring water of the river running through jagged, copper rocks. "It's beautiful." Kitty sighs. "Yeah," I answer so quietly as if part of me was too proud to admit it. The bus swerves gently around the path until we reach an opened dirt entrance with four cabins surrounding it. A low chime comes from my phone informing me of my lack of service. Luckily, I packed a hotspot box, but part of me still felt anxious about not having access to my files. I feel... vulnerable, more than usual. A sudden stop jolts me forward, signaling the others to get up. I am the last to step out and fall into the line formed at the side of the bus.
A grizzly man walks in front of the long line of students, "You will be taking 20-mile hikes, rappelling 200-foot cliffs and crossing treacherous water with no more than a rope and all the courage you can muster! Do you read me?!"
"Yes, Sergeant Hawk!" the students yell out.
"I said do you read me?!"
"YES SIR, SERGEANT HAWK SIR!"
"Scott sumner!"
"Summers, Sir."
"Well, Summers-"
I tap along my phone, trying to tune out all the yelling until I feel an elbow jab me. Evan looks down at my phone and quickly to the side, warning signs in his eyes. I follow his eyes to the grizzly man who is staring at me with rage.
"It was clear that there are to be NO electronics allowed." he towers over me, the shade from his hat cooling me down.
"Oh no, no. I'm not with them." I smile pointing at the others.
"Oh, so you're with the other team?" Sergeant Hawk asks.
"Other team?" I glance over and see the brotherhood composed of Lance, Pietro, Todd and bob all looking as pathetic as the files I have on them.
I snort, "No, absolutely not with them."
Sergeant Hawk snatches my phone. "In that case, Xavier didn't mention anything about the Queen of England coming, so you are to fall in line like everyone else!" his spit lands on my face as he turns, my phone locked in his grip. "Oh okay, you just hold on to that one then!" I groan with a fake smile. I kneel and unhook the second phone from the side of my boot.
"As I was saying . Because of Scott Summer's scholastic achievements at Baville high, he will be your team leader. " Sergeant Hawk stares at me again, wide-eyed as I tap along my backup phone. "Did you not hear a thing I just said?!" He gets in my face again.
"Sir, I'm sure Charles Xavier sent you an email about my the extent of my 'involvement'. You can even use my phone to check! I promise you that I'm not involved in all," I flay my hand around, "This."
Sergeant Hawk raises his brow, the lines around his mouth weighing down.
"I mean this place is quaint, with all your dirt," I shift my foot, accidentally sprinkling some onto his boots, "and uh... you."
He yanks the second phone from me, "If I see another phone come out of god knows where your entire team is doing 500 sit-ups. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!"
My brows narrow and I wipe the spit from my bare shoulder, "Transparently."
"You have 10 minutes to stow your gear in your cabins! Go, go, go!"
"Ugh, I'm not going to last one day here!" Kitty complains, sitting on her luggage.
"You?! I'm a city boy, I wasn't built for this." Even joins.
"What did ve ever do to deserve this?" Kurt groans.
"Enough complaining." I stomp ahead, my duffle bag swung uncomfortably over my shoulder, " let's just get this over with."
"Here, let me get that for you." Kurt rushes over and gently removes the duffle bag from my arm. I glare at him, " Next time you convince me to go somewhere, make sure it has wifi that I can actually use."
"Sorry." he mutters.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"You will be racing to the top of Mt. Humiliation to retrieve a flag I had placed at the top. "Cakewalk!" The silver-haired boy steps up, "You watching pretty girl?" he turns and winks at me.
"Ugh." I groan. If all of these exercises weren't enough, Pietro's constant flirting was driving me near insanity.
"Not if I get there first." Kurt smiles proudly.
Mutants are all the same. They think just because their abilities allow them to cheat through life that everyone else is stuck with the short straw.
"Everyone in your team needs to make it to that mountain!" Sergeant Hawk growls, "And I want a picture as proof!"
"Like, that's if they don't cheat first." Kitty hisses at the brotherhood.
"Hey, we could beat you guys without our powers," Lance shouts, mostly directed at Scott.
"Alright, a fair game, no powers. Come on, guys!" Scott shouts.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
We all run for miles along the mountain, until gradually we slow to a jog, "Sooo, like what's my favorite food." Kitty asks me.
"Are we still playing this game?" I huff, weaving the sweaty tangles out of my hair. "Come on! It's like so boring."
I sigh, giving in, " Hummas and pickle quesadilla, as bizarre as that sounds."
"Ooh, do me next." Rogue chimes in.
Before I can answer Jean interrupts, "I don't get what so cool about knowing all our favorite foods are."
She walks past me, bumping into my shoulder nervously.
"Is it that hard to impress you... Miss. Phoenix?"
She stops, "how did you-"
"Trust me, I know more about you than you ever will." I return the hostile bump and walk ahead of the girls, trailing behind Scott, Kurt, and Evan.
"Kurt pop up and see if the flag is still there."
Kurt turns, smiles briefly at me and then at Jean who is distracted, "Are you sure Jean will be okay vit that?"
"Don't you want to win?" Scott persuades.
"Figures." I butt in, scraping the dirt from my painted nails.
Scott and Kurt look at me with drooping eyes, "Oh am I in your way?" I ask and raise my wrists.
"If you could just step back like two feet," Scott asks nicely or at least tried to.
My eyes narrow and I realize... this is why Xavier wanted me to come here so badly. To neutralize them. Like I care if they cheat.
I take a giant step back and signal for Kurt to teleport.
"The flag is still there," he shouts as he reappears within seconds.
"Good," Scott hands Evan a rope, "forget climbing, spike this up."
"Uh, you sure?"
Scott glares at Evan.
"You look sure to me." Evan steps away from me and hurtles a spike into the cliff above.
Jean makes her entrance and glares at Scott as he hands her the rope. She climbs freehand and the others follow, taking their sides with Jean or the rope. I stare at the top that distorts as my vision blurs.
"Are you okay?" Scott grabs my hand.
"I'm not exactly a fan of heights."
"Oh." he looks at the steep cliff and then back at me. "Come here."
I watch him bend down and unexpectedly hook his arms around the back of my knees, pulling me against his back. "Hold on tight."
He didn't have to tell me twice, I nearly choke him as he begins to climb, nails digging deeper into his chest. He never complained though, but by how Jean snarled at me I can tell she wasn't too happy about this predicament.
"You are too kind, Scott." I thank.
"Anytime, Violet. That's what a team is for."
I am taken back, absolutely speechless.
We reach the top and Scott lowers me down softly, holding me steady until he's comfortable my queasiness is gone.
"HELP!" screams come from ahead, jolting us to investigate. I watch from a distance as the X-men rush into action, pulling the brotherhood out from a crumbling mine, being told to keep my distance several times. Their powers working in perfect sync, all unique... all useful.
A hand shocks me out of my depressive episode as Rogue pulls me to follow the others to the top of the mountain.
They all thank each other, leaving me in the distance to regain my breath. "Violet!" Someone shouts. They are all posing for a picture, signaling me to join. I cautiously squeeze in, arms folded, leaning away as the flash blares.
"Hey! Its the X-jet!" Evan yells pointing at the blackbird hovering above us. Storm walks out, "The Professor needs your help!"
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Snarling and crashing comes from the danger room as we all rush to stop The Juggernaut, both Brotherhood and Xmen. We jump through a hole in the wall watching as Wolverine dodges the Juggernauts attacks. I watch as Kitty and Rogue lift each other up to unhinge the Juggernauts helmet, failing the first time. Kurt teleports onto him, successfully unhinging one latch before being flung to the wall beside me.
"He's too strong!" someone yells.
I place my hand on Kurt's head as he regains consciousness, "I'm okay." he groans, leaning into my touch.
"Sorry kid." Logan's raspy voice comes from behind me as he forcibly flings me across the floor, right underneath the Juggernaut. I scream and block my face as he readies to strike me.
The giant Iron rod in his hands causes him to tumble back as all his strength is drained by my bands. "Impossible." he roars, staring at his hands and then at me. Suddenly, Pietro, Scott, and Logan tackle him and remove the helmet. Logan grabs me and slides me rapidly across the smooth granite floor away from Professor Xavier.
I turn back seeing the Juggernaut passed out and everyone begin to cheer. It takes me a moment to get up and without warning I stomp over to Logan who looks at me confused, opening his hand to apologize. "HOW DARE YOU?!"
SMACK
The blood in my hand pumps from the sudden sting, Logan's face in shock as he touches the perfect red handprint across his cheek. "You have the AUDACITY to throw me into danger like a ragdoll?!" I scream, the Xmen and Brotherhood taking a step back. He grips the side of his cheek, "That hurt a lot more than I thought it would." he groans, chuckling.
"And YOU!" I point at Xavier, "Don't you ever use me as a tool to neutralize your students again! Forge better have a lead on how to get these damn things off because I want out of this Horror House!"
I stomp off hearing only silence from behind me.

Know It All: An Xmen Evolution Fanfiction  Chapter 6
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: Know It All
Chapter 6
Nightcrawler fanfic (I do not own the X-men or the gifs).
We sit silently in the car as we drive away. I engage the security setting of the mansion again from my phone once we are far enough so as not to raise alarm. "You sure you don't want to do this tomorrow?" Bronco asks as he drives. I look at the neon numbers on the radio. 3:28 a.m. "No," I state. "Thank you for coming so soon," I say quieter. "Anytime, Boss. Plus, not like I was doing much, just trying to fix the weather controls in Sanctuary while Nisha follows up on a lead." his Russian accent grows deeper at the end of each sentence.
"Yes, she told me about going back to London to follow up on witnesses of the shooting."
The conversation dies.
The city starts to morph into landscape, crooked trees with leaves scraping against each other and the low mummers of wildlife. I look back at the clock. 3:54 a.m. Is someone in my room? Have they noticed I'm gone? I inhale deeply and hold it in my chest. The cold air from the crack in the window tingles my skin, making me rub them violently. "Go a little faster," I demand. Bronco does not protest and the car's sudden exhilaration wacks my hair on the headrest.
"You sure this isn't a trap?" Bronco asks, fidgeting with the steering wheel.
"Of course it is."
"Then why go?"
I growl, "Becuase I want to see her."
The car slows to a stop and we both exit, the cold air sending tears to line our eyes. The road is empty and the car's headlights are the only thing keeping us from going as blind as the bats above us. "This is the place you picked?" Bronco asks reading the stone sign.
"You should know, I always have a failsafe."
We walk into the cemetery, lunging over dead flowers and tombstones. I take a look around seeing dozens of graves surrounding us, soft soil destroying our shoes. I keep a distance from Bronco just in case he needs his powers.
A rustling comes from ahead of us and two figures stand, shrowding the third. "Darling." She says in awe, pushing the bodyguards apart. Her auburn hair is darker in this light, or maybe she darkened it herself. I couldn't tell whether the wrinkles around her eyes and mouth were new or if she had had them earlier. She wore a pantsuit, lined with yellow and orange trim, her cuffs lined with silver like aluminum foil.
"Mother," I hum, "How longs it been? Two years, going on three?"
"You mustn't think I don't hear the sarcasm in your voice."
"At least you can recognize one thing about me."
"I did not call this meeting so you could scrutinize me for taking over the Platform and managing our armies."
"Your armies." I corrected. I wanted nothing to do with my father's proposal of opening up the Platform, an entire city dedicated to his private troops and war machines. My mother took that position for power and it cost her more than two years of my life. I sigh and fold my arms, "So why did you call this meeting?"
"Your father is worried, Darling."
"MY FATHER!-" I stopped and rolled my shoulders, "My father... opened fire on me and left me to rot in a jail interrogation room."
"He thought you betrayed him when that bullet hit him. He didn't know that the bands were put on against your will. Considering your argument before the events occurred can you blame him for thinking that?"
"So his initial reaction is to order the death of his only child?! Are you honestly content with that?!"
She is silent, the darkness making it hard to read her, "Your father knows best."
Four words I know all too well.
She steps closer, "We know you are will the Xmen and cannot openly go against them, but know this: they cannot help you."
"And you can?"
"We can find Moriarty, get those things off of you and back to Purgatory. We just want you home."
On instinct, I remember the event before I was kidnaped by Moriarty. My father went mad, demanding my radio be handed to him, then I think of what Xavier said. If the band's technology were to fall into the wrong hands...
My father definitely classifies as 'wrong hands.'
I take a step back, "The Xmen are onto something. I think I'll take my chances."
Bronco and I jump as a loud beeping comes from behind my mother and the back of a truck destroys the bushes. The metal shutter shoots up and I look into the darkness at the holding cell within.
"Unless... this isn't a request." I frown.
My mother's face is unchanged, "get into the van, Violet." she demands calmly as her hands clench, a frothy flame igniting her forearms.
I sigh without a second thought, "Bronco,"
He straightens his posture, "Boss?"
"Wake them up."
He nods, walking in front of my mother and bodyguards who are ready to light Bronco up in a flame or bullets. I take a few steps back and watch as Broncos eyes roll to the back of his head, his arms rising from the force of his power.
Patches of dirt and wet grass fly between us as hands claw out of the ground, the inhabitants of the cemetery stumble together like vermin. The walking dead groan violently as the launch themselves at my mother's forces. The smell makes me gag and the deformed humans limp passed Bronco and I. Bronco signals me to run the opposite way, maintaining distance as we bump into more undead. I turn and see my mother's flames burn through them effortlessly as we escape.
I remember her once, promising me something: 'I'll never use my powers against you, Darling.'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Bronco stops a few blocks away from the Xmansion, careful about making eye contact with me.
"You don't have to say anything," I say, reassuring that he is not entitled to make me feel better. "They've made their side clear. Perhaps when these things are off, they will just want me for a hacker, not a death tool." At this point, I am mostly speaking to myself.
"You sure that you want to stay with the Xmen?" Bronco asks.
"At this point, they are my only option."
"Keep us updated, Boss." Bronco grabs my hand, "We worry about you."
I smile weakly and get out of the car. He drives away as I head towards the mansion.
The sunrise comes slowly as I reach the gates. Pulling out my phone to disable the alarms my neck scrunches back. The alarms are active. I open the gate quickly and see the turrents blown to pieces. There are nets scattered and small lawn fires puffing like violent candles. "No." I gasp shoving the main door open. "Kurt?!" I yell, "Xavier?!" I run farther into the mansion scoping the rooms with toppled furniture, broken glass, and wood scattered along the stairs. "ANYONE?!"
The sub-basement is empty. My monitors are shattered, but one is still active. I search through last nights footage and see the students sleeping normally until several giant orbs burst through all directs of the walls and collect them all. My hand barely touches my face as I gasp. It couldn't be my father. It was too soon.
There has to be a way to find them! I tap along my keyboard to find a signal, something the orbs could have released into a frequency. I look closer at one of the orbs in the video. "Complete metal?" My eyes widen and I run to Xavier's study.
"Telepathy can't be the only way to locate you," I mutter to myself as I tap into Ciribro's database. "If you link your head to this it should be able to find you like..."
PING
"A beacon! Xavier your giant head just saved your life." I send the coordinates Ciribro gives me to my phone and rush to the garage.
Most of the cars had been totaled except Scott's sports car.
I zoom out of the mansion, checking my mirrors and follow my GPS, hoping- praying- that it anyone but my father who took them.

Know It All: Xmen evolution fanfic Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Title: Know It All
Chapter two
Nightcrawler fanfic (I do not own the X-men or the gif, I do not claim to own any Marvel characters ).
He takes a moment and drinks his own tea. "It is an extreme risk having you here. A girl with no powers, but yet has complete control over all of us here. And then there is the issue of how you found us and how you know all about each of my students and myself." "I'm a girl of many talents." I simply state. "It appears so, but to the matter at hand if the wrong person were to get their hands on your technology," He points at my wrists, "We could be looking at a catastrophic event for mutants all over the world." Somehow I feel like he is talking to himself more then he is to me. I watch as his eyes begin to wander into the ripples of his tea; strangely his stern look reminds me of my own father- well Dominic to me now. I swallow hard, trying to deal with the situation step by step without melting into a pool of tears. I bring the cup to my lips in the hope the scorching water will shock my composure back into place.
Charles Xavier's eyes flick to mine, "But if you were to stay here...." I choke slightly on my tea, "I beg your pardon?" "Hear me out." He offers. "If you stay here in my school perhaps we can both achieve what we desire. I have a student here by the name of Forge, he may be able to put a dent into those bracelets of yours." "I hope you mean figuratively, I have to admit chopping my hands off are at the end of my list of attempts." I sarcastically laugh. He joins me in a laugh, "I must request that you limit your time around the students, at least when they are in training sessions." "Of course. Funny, I have a request of my own." "Oh?" "I have a... business, all handled online. As long as I have access to it from here I will comply with your rules and stay locked up here. As long as you do all you can to get these damn things off me, of course."
He ponders for a moment.
"Alright Miss, Ashbourne." he sticks out his hand for mine, "You've got a deal, welcome to the X-men."
"Woah, let's not get ahead of ourselves, I didn't even bring a resume."
He chuckles lightly and rests back in his wheelchair, "But I must ask, what is this business of yours? I must know if my students will be safe."
"I completely understand your caution and if you must know I am a hacker. I work within channels, gathering information; a keeper of secrets if you will. "
"Earlier... you said you're 16?"
"And you're the most powerful mutant of all?" I chuckle before continuing, "I have a Ph.D. in programming; my age is simply a means of a host. Point is, what I do is dangerous, but I am very careful in how I handle my network and will ensure that your students will not suffer the consequences of my business."
Xavier nods and begins to wheel away, signaling me to follow. We begin to walk into the foyer and towards the elevator, "You'll be able to set up in the commutations room down in the second sub-basement."
We step into the elevator and I feel my arm pulled gently as he examines the metal, "it is extraordinary."
"It is a means to an end," I state and walk out as soon as the doors open again.
Once down in the basement, Xavier guides me through the silver halls with doors lined with Xs. I felt an urge to discover every room, but withstood the temptation as we are greeted by a young man dressed in a sweater vest and slacks, "hey professor," He stares at me with bubbly eyes for a moment, "uh-."
"I hope you don't mind, Forge, but Violet will be setting up her station down here with you."
"Wait, what? I- hi- no offense, but this place is cramped enough as it is," he protests, trying to get in front of the professor as he wheels in front of a large circled projector in the center of the room. Behind are several monitors, a walkway with a railing and an empty room just to the left of it. "Professor, I just got these monitors installed and ready so-"
"So I will make good use of them." I smile.
Forge turns to me, annoyed that I finished his sentence without his consent. "Who the heck are you?" he asks sarcastically, easily showing he didn't actually care.
Before I am able to introduce myself Xavier wheels next to him, "This is Violet Ashbourne, she will be working with us as we help her with a personal dilemma."
"Oh, what are your powers?" The way Forge's domineer changed as he asked that question irritated me as if I had to be a mutant and nothing else. "Knowledge." I simply say as I swallow my pride.
"So, like, you're super smart?"
I roll my eyes and walk up the small stairway up to the monitors. "This will do nicely professor." He nods, "Perfect, you may take the room to your left and Forge will temporarily bunk with one of our other X-Men."
"Do I not get a say in this?" Forge stares at me.  I couldn't tell if he was angry or shy. I lean over the railing, the blue, transparent light of the circle projector highlighting my face, "I will be as quiet as I wish you were, do not worry."
"Huh, that's comforting, I think."
Xavier spoke up, "The others will be here soon-"
"I'm not an X-Man, introducing me to them will not be necessary," I state plainly, looking back at the monitors.
"We do not know how long you will be here and I would rather them be aware of a power neutralizing girl in our basement. Plus, you said you would abide by my rules."
I sigh, remembering what I had said,"Yes, the boys especially, I assume, will be the most interested."
Xavier chuckled as he noticed Forge staring at me with goo-goo eyes. "Ehem."
"W-what?" Forge asks hazily.
"Catch him up on your problem, will you? I must contact a friend."
"Is it Logan?" I ask hoping for a reaction.
As he wheels out of the room, he stops in the doorframe, "you outta be a telepath."
I grin and look back at Forge who is still stuck between annoyance and boyish hormones. "So, you're not a mutant?"
I sigh and begin to explain in a quick, simplified matter, "A bad man kidnaped me and attached these metal bands to my skin. These bands neutralize mutant powers with a kind of interference, I do not understand the complete technology considering I was in pain for the entire process. Point being: I need you to get them off."
"Why did he do that to you?"
I thought for a moment, "That will remain my business."
"Oh, uh okay. Let me just finish some stuff and I will take a look."
I agreed and went to the monitors to pull up my mobile access to Sanctuary. I immediately see a message from Nisha, 'Moriarty has gone underground, we can't find much of his whereabouts.'
I reply harshly, 'I want him found at any costs I don't care how many of his men you need to kill.'
I lock my messages, not caring whether or not she had answered.
I need to find him before he can find me.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The information running across my monitors prove extremely interesting. I hear Forge's muttering as he tinkers on the other side of the room, next to the door, on his workbench, cramped between the boxes of my things. I glance behind me to see his back to me, hunched over. I stare at his arm that switched from one form to the next as he constantly blew his shoulder-length hair to the side. I watch the brief video of him appearing from a room in Bayville high, accompanied by a blue figure. I tap on my keyboard to the next X-Men and find Katherine- Kitty- Pride, Jean Grey, Scott Summers, Evan Daniels, Anna Marie (goes by rogue, I'll have to remember that) and Kurt Wagner-
"Will all X-Men please meet me in my office." Professor Xavier's voice blasts through the speakers of the mansion, interrupting Forge and I. The door opens and closes as Forge walks out, but I scramble to take the opportunity of privacy and call Nisha and Bronco.
I use my free hand to sneak a small bug into the mansion's system, locking the door at my will to ensure no one interrupts me.
"Boss, what's going on we were waiting for your call." Nisha says as Bronco tries to squeeze into the frame.
"Looks like I will be bunking with the X-Men for a while. In the meantime follow my experimental instructions and send me the information on how our newest citizens are adjusting."
"Are you sure being in a house full of mutants is a good idea, especially because of your situation?"
"I have a plan."
"Don't you always?" Nisha smiles, siding with me. Bronco steps toward the camera, "The subjects responded well to the training and setting of the city so far. To be honest I think they are just glad to have warm sheets and good food."
"Glad to hear it. Sanctuary is to be a place for the people, not tyrants, make sure you use our funds wisely and feed as many mouths as you can."
"I have to ask- how are you raising all this money, boss?"
"Information is as valuable as a life and there are those who offer their souls for it."
Nisha speaks up, " Be careful, boss, you have enough enemies at the moment."
Before I am able to answer Bronco sighs, "Speaking of offering up your soul- how is the search for the Admiral?"
I frown, "Unfortunately, I've had to put it on hold. The information I acquired from the commander is enough to keep our heads above water for now. We will continue the search once the matter with Moriarty are dealt with and I can return home." They look at each other with concern as I finish my sentence as if hiding something. "The radio, is it safe?" Bronco asks.
I fiddle with the chain of my necklace, "Completely."
"And what of your father? You think he will let you back into Purgatory after what happened?"
I hear the door behind me beep, "Huh? Did she lock the door?- Professor!" I hear Forge whine after he attempted to open the door.
I turn back to Nisha and Bronco, "I have to go, my lock isn't going to hold for long. Contact me through my computers, not via cell phone. Nisha I want Moriarty found and tabs on my father. Bronco, I want Sanctuary filled with new subjects."
"She locked the door." I hear Forge whine again.
"Boss, don't you think one of us should be there-" I cut Bronco off and shut down the call as soon as I hear the door unlock and slide open. I turn to see the professor followed by a group of teenagers, "Something wrong with the door?" he asks sarcastically. I make my way around the ramp and step in front of all of them.
"Must have gotten stuck," I answered coyly. The professor smirks and I look at the X-Men, mostly at the fuzzy faces of the boys. "Nice." Evan simply whispers to the blue-haired boy- the only one I didn't recognize, but my, was he handsome. A red-headed girl steps in front of the others, "Nice to meet you I'm-"
"Jean Grey." I finish rudely, leaving her in shock. "Do we know each other?-"
I begin to point at each of them, obviously bored, "Scott, Kitty, Evan, Rogue-" I stop as they all stare at me, "Forgive me, I just hate introductions."
I glance at the unknown boy, "But I must admit, I do not know your name." My voice is more flirty then intended. He just stared at me, slack-jawed until Scott elbowed him, "Ah! Ja, My name is Wagner- Kurt. Vell Kurt is my first name."
As he rambles my eyes widen and I glance back at my monitors, "You can change your form?"
He seems to get a bit fidgety and uncomfortably embarrassed, "You know how I look?" He said it so quietly that I could hear my heart break from how self-conscious he sounded.
"Only from what I've seen in cameras."
"Cameras?" Kitty perked up.
"I can gain entrance into a lot of city cameras, even personal ones if I want."
"No way!" Evan smiled, moving Kurt to the side a bit.
A long sigh comes from the professor as he reels in their attention, "This is Violet Ashbourne."
"How do you know who we are?" Scott asks as he towers over me. I smile, "Trust me, just assume I know everything."
"Okay, what is my power?" Kitty asks.
"You have the ability to phase through solid matter."
"Are you sure you're not just a telepath?" Jean asks.
Uncontrollably, I glare at her, "Some people have to work to gain information."
Jean is taken by my sudden hostility and Xavier quickly notices, changing the subject almost immediately, "Violet is a human, skilled in hacking and other talents."
I stand up straight, trying to look proud of my humanity. "Violet I was hoping to convince you to go to a summer camp with the students, perhaps bond a bit."
Xavier took me by surprise, "I'm sorry, come again? I told you I have no interest in being anyone's friend. The sooner you get these things off the sooner you can be rid of me."
He is silent and motions for Forge to come forward. He examines my wrists, "man these are wedged on here pretty good."
"I'd be disappointed if they weren't, considering all the pain I had to go through."
Forge holds out his hand, I didn't understand what he was doing. he looks at his arm and chuckles uncomfortable, "oh yeah, no powers."
"Makes you feel vulnerable, doesn't it?" Part of me regrets how I said that as soon as the others look a bit hurt.
The professor took the others back upstairs after seeing my reactions and Forge spent hours examining and writing notes. Soon after midnight, he had receded upstairs to sleep and left me alone.
I can't sleep, I can barely breathe easily without thinking of how much betrayal I had recently endured over a course of these past days.  The black Monitors are the only thing keeping me company. The more I keep analyzing it the more I feel like a knife is stabbing me in the stomach. Finally, I get up and make my way upstairs, trying to find the kitchen based on the blueprints I hacked a few hours ago. Soon after finding the kitchen I quietly rummage through the cupboards and find a kettle and bagged earl grey. Not my favorite, but under circumstances is doable.
I sit alone until the stove and microwave clocks read 1:43. Dozing off became easier the later it became until I got startled by a gust of wind and cloud of black dust, followed by an overpowering scent of brimstone. Kurt, the real Kurt, yawns lazily in front of me, unaware of my presence. Payback came quickly as I spoke, scaring him out of his fur. "So that's how you look, the cameras only show so much." His embarrassment bounces off the silence, "Violet, You're still up?"
I nod, looking into the murky water in my mug.
"Can't sleep?" his accent becomes sweeter.
"There's a lot on my mind," I say, receding into my antisocial bubble.
It was so quiet after a few minutes I thought he had left until a cup was set down next to me. Kurt hopped onto the stool and swiveled a bit to adjust himself, "Zhen it is lucky you don't need beauty sleep."
I raised my brow and look at him, amused.
The fur around his cheeks turns a slight tint of pink as he sips his tea. "You know what would go good with this?" he gets up before I can guess and reaches into a cabinet, pulling out a package of untouched cookies. "I managed to hide them from Evan." he places them between our mugs as he returns to his stool. After a while I give in and take one, munching on it as I listen to Kurt swallowing his third one. "You know everything about me?" He asks.
"As much as the cameras can show. Creepy I'm sure." I admitted.
"Have you seen how I look?" he laughed self deprecatingly.
I really didn't know what to say, or how to lighten the moment, I've never spent so much time engaged in a conversation with someone my age.
So instead I said nothing.
"How did you become so powerful?"
My head snapped to him, "Trust me, I'm not even close, but one day I will be."
"I hope so."
"Why?"
He stares at the cookie in his three-fingered hand, "because humans are just as powerful as mutants."
My chest begins to heat up, amazement running up the thin hairs of my arms.
"Are you coming with us to camp tomorrow?" Kurt asks completely changing the subject.
"I don't think it is my place," I say truthfully.
"It might help you clear your head if you take a step back."
I thought for a moment.
He has a point.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The next morning I can't believe what I am doing. With a duffle bag and fading nostalgia from last night, I am facing a grinning Xavier and a loading bus. "I am so glad you changed your mind about the camping trip."
"That makes one of us." I groan as my eyes meet Kurt who is helping to load the bus. Xavier, without turning smiles smugly, "Or two." he mutters, referring to Kurt. "I am just going on this trip because I need to clear my head. The moment I get back I expect Forge to be making progress."
"It is our top priority."
I stutter angrily, "yeah, in case you forgot."
Gripping my duffle bag I carefully hand it to Kurt who gently lays in with the other bags. I can't help but stare at how the maroon shirt complements his skin tone, not to mention his toned arms. While he is in his human form I feel less comfortable, like it isn't him from last night.
The moment the bus begins to leave the school grounds I am reminded of how much I missed from high school. I spent most of the time studying and learning, because of my family's low social status I had to ensure my financial aid and scholarships paid for my degrees. I never went on field trips or sat with a boy on a bus. That was, of course, before I found The 'Commander' and the radio.
The X-men are considerably accepting towards me and converse the entire time, well, all except for Jean.
