how do i say all of the above without sounding insane. lmao i love these so much though and love thinking about the psychology of what would keep a character awake at night. she’s not really known for getting enough sleep in general tbh, even before ub's arrival. kira definitely has some obsessive compulsive tendencies. not only in how she operates professionally (she needs reports completed a certain way & she is also the only person who does them the way she likes so... you know what she'll just stay extra late to make sure it's done right oops). she doesn't need that much sleep anyways, she tells herself. after getting kidnapped by murphy and injected with stuff against her will kira develops a mild form of germaphobia kind of as a trauma response. fear of needles, being infected with something foreign, certain diseases, etc. so a lot of her anxieties and nightmares come with an icky feeling of being infected or like there are bugs under her skin, a very physical panic response. & then she would just stay awake, either working on paperwork or probably doing hella crossword puzzles. her & N bond heavily over that in the beginning of their friendship. funny enough, she's not off put by the idea of any of ub biting her for any reason because she does not see any of them as monstrous. she would literally spill blood for her chosen family & she loves them all fairly unconditionally

What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led them to making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on?

hmm this was a tough one ngl! i think i’m going to go with a more general answer & say the worst mistake kira’s made is not treating herself & her body with the respect it deserves. when she was younger she equated sex to love. physical proximity was the same thing as intimacy to her, but never fulfilled her the way she wanted & hoped. she was very unattuned to her body & did not know how to listen to it, or to parse her needs from her wants, which did a lot of damage in the long run. and it was of course not a healthy dynamic between herself & her partners. by the end of b3, kira is finally able to kind of see this for what it is, for the first time, and decide to change her behavior; to try and stop the cycle she’s been falling into her whole life. for the first time she can very confidently agree that she is in love with A, who she wants, while also accepting that their treatment of her thus far is not what she needs or deserves. so she is willing to let them go. even if it goes against her heart. so yeah, i like the idea that her biggest mistake has been in her treatment of herself largely! love to see the growth!!

Do you feel Taro should have been the last real Showa Ultra from his time?

cause Leo and 80 doesn't really looked like Final Showa shows compared to what Taro offered

I remember I see in somewhere that one of the writers that thoght Taro should had been the last Showa Ultra but it seems that it was the broadcaster that at the time wanted another Ultra series and so Tsburaya was kind of forced to create Leo

Tbh im alright with there being more Showa shows after Taro. The Showa Era itself is just simply ultraman shows that were produced during this period of time

Not to mention, the other showa series after Taro have also gone on to inspire subsequent series as well. Its also for TsuPro at the time continue to explore other themes like Leo with its martial art-focused theme and 80, being the more "humanized sensei", and to make their early expansions into other media like Joneus with its animated series, along with Powered and Great for their international productions. So TsuPro themsleves were still just simply exploring what they could really do with the franchise at this time

Not to mention these subsequent series continued to serve as part of the fundamental concepts for Ultra shows that were then adapted and improved on in subsequent series after the Showa Era

(But ngl i still hate 80, not only because of how he looks but how weak he was protrayed in his own series, frequently being totally knocked down by simple projectile attacks for example)

But speaking of at least major changes from Taro to Leo, i do rmb reading in either the Taro or UB Super Complete Works was that they did purposely dialed down the powerscales from Taro to Leo and onwards as it was pointed out that Ultras are getting way too powerful

This was very noticeable with feats in every subsequent series like Choju were established to be leagues beyond normal kaiju from Ultraman-Jack in Ace, which then in ep 1 in Taro, the kaiju are now suddenly one shotting choju (Astromons ate Oil Drinker in a single gulp iirc) to establish the new powerscaling

Now this was quite significant as i pointed out before as if they were to continue scaling upwards from Taro, theyd eventually write themsleves into a narrative hole due to powerscaling, which back then i pointed out which is what dragonball is suffering from now.

This is also especially prevalent in the NG era, as except for obvious exceptions like Fusions or Movie+/++ forms, all NG are relative to each other, with the UB at least being "shown" to scale with their max forms (tho iirc my calculations actually have them scale at pure trinity fusions, being around 10 000x stronger than NG)

At least TsuPro till this day still actively only acknowledges the "Ultra Brothers" as the firsr 6 Ultras for modern (post-Mebius/Zero) on-screen appearances

Hey hey~ I have this random idea. Hear me out:

What if Riddle's father is Azul's step dad and Riddle's parents are divorced because Riddle's father hate how his mother treated Riddle. So instead of son of two famous doctors of Queendom of Heart, Riddle is the son of a famous doctor and a lawyer!

But it means instead of fully human, Riddle is actually half merman. His mer form is quite unique, since he looks like a goldfish. You know, the aquarium, man made, kind.

It also means Riddle is Azul's step brother. But because of this marriage Riddle finally got a good mother that will spoil him. Since we don't know when did Azul's mother divorced and remarried, it makes Riddle's friendship with Trey and Che'nya to be questionable depend on the timeline of this marriage.

Either way, I want to see whatever stupid things that happen during their childhood. Heck, it can means two OB didn't happen in canon if it happen!

NGL, I imagined Azul's step-dad to actually be a Shark mer(tiger shark specifically bc yes)... Like a big, bulky, absolute UNIT of a man with scars and all that... Funny thing... I've made a smol repartition of mers in twst, mostly bc of those NPC sprites. So unlike most expectations, as appearance... In this specific scenario, Riddle would fall in the same box as Azul, which means a lot more human like features rather than fish, but still not at obviously as top fully human and bottom fish. :v

YES! He would be a goldfish... But more leaning onto the gradients and spots variations of black and white on that bright red. He might just have one big black spot on his eye in the shape of the heart as a treat (fun fact, those goldfishes are names Kalico or Shubukini(hope I spelled it right)) ;3

Maybe the divorce in between the og Rosehearts couple happens after Riddle's 8... Mostly since around then his mom finds out about him Sneaking out to play. And while his father fully gave his permission for that, it was clear that a big ass argument broke down and here we go with the divorce papers. :v

Poor lil Riddle didn't have any idea why his papa suddenly said they will go on a trip to grandma, but he never saw grandma so he's curious to see big shark memaw.

I imagine first the grandma nagging Mr Rosehearts since 'I told you that woman was no good! Thank God the child has your genes!'. Yep... One belt later and she's ready to tare down the ex-Mrs Rosehearts to shreds. :'3

I don't know why, but I want Romanian like memaws... Like they take no shits and would destroy anything in their path if you ever dare to make them mad. Also in most cases they make good food and gib you money.

And that's how lil Riddle meets lil Azul, who was also on a trip to his grandma. They bond over the fact that 'My parents fought and now I'm on a trip here.' 'No way! Mine too!'.

And that's how Mrs Ashengrotto and Mr Rosehearts meet. And bc my man fought to hell and back for his custody, he decided to help out Mrs Ashengrotto. (more like this octo-lady yanked him and put him to represent her in court and that's when cupid decided to act)

Riddle also doesn't really grasp that well the general mer culture at first. So when he first saw Azul his mind went like static before he decided 'Yep... I'm gonna talk with this guy! He looks nice!' meanwhile Azul had a crying fest since 'who tf is this guy and why is he so nice?!'. Riddle thought he scared him so he starts crying as well and that's when the parents first meet and realise what exactly went down in between these 2.

For now, I imagine bc of their previous wrecks of a marriage, Mr Rosehearts and Mrs Ashengrotto have an engagement period. But like it's so long and both are so comfy and natural around each other that everyone just assumes they married in a more private way. Sometimes even Azul and Riddle forget about it. They once asked Mr Rosehearts where it was his wedding ring and man looked for it for HOURS, just cuz he bought the genuine question.

And school... Oh god school... Just having one overly bullied kid and one kid who never even knew the concept of public schools is just asking for disaster.

First day: 15 kids got collared. Riddle had one kid bite his arm and he couldn't bite back cuz the teach came in. When asked about it, Azul said that those guys picked on him and made Riddle 'smol'.

Later they also meet the twins. Mostly since Riddle and Floyd picked an epic fight and some snitch just had to tell the teach. Azul personally wanted to strangle them, bc he made a bet with Jade on who throws the table first.

But they bond! Both twins find Azul very interesting (and squishy), so they declared they will stick with him. Even though Floyd and Riddle fight daily. Like by now it's the norm for them to square up. It's their love language. U-U

Probably the twins are very confused at the parents situation for the 2 since 'they live together but they aren't married, but still they still kiss in the morning and we call them mama/papa and they don't seem to mind, but still they aren't married.' like... Their lil 10 year old brains can't wrap around that.

So they drew the conclusion that 'oh no, they be cheating with each other!'. Cue another long talk and explanation on why this is fine.

Besides fighting in academics, Riddle and Azul would have a competition over almost anything when smol. They would annoy each other bc they live for that. Also blackmail galore. Azul can't go out bc Riddle would snitch on him about the lipstick incident, while Riddle can't go out as well bc Azul said he will tell about who ate the last piece of cake... Yep... Fun times :'D

As they still get older... They still forget that their parents are 'just engaged', so there is A LOT of confusion in between people when these 2 introduce themselves and mention that they are brothers as well. Like there is some mental gymnastics in here and some may assume the worse. :'3

First time on land is also some hilarious thing bc poor Riddle forgot again that bc since he's half human, he can switch in between forms without potion(his downside is that he must avoid water at all costs). So Riddle just stays on a rock and looks at Azul like he's about to grow 2 heads or something.

"what are you waiting for?" "I don't have a potion..." "You need a potion?" "RIDDLE I SWEAR-"

NRC is also not ready for these 2.

They get in different dorms and since they knew their pops went to NRC, they also ask in Which dorm he was. Watch them ask 'were you in Heartslabyul or Octavinelle?' only to be hit with a 'I was in Ignihyde'. :'3

Also Trey is stunned to see Riddle in here. Mostly since their connection got stranded since that day the ex Rosehearts couple fought and divorced.

Still, Azul and Riddle often eat lunch together. Since the only ones who are actually classmates are Riddle and Jade, the twins also tag along.

One time surely Floyd got a punch in the stomach from Riddle and bro went all giggly mode since apparently... Out of all the possible ways of showing affection... Raw violence was their way... No one knew of this except Azul and Jade who find it enderdaining. But at least now savanaclaw dudes know they shouldn't be picking a fight with the red shortie :v

Unlike in cannon, Riddle becomes Dormhead in his second year, Azul becoming in his first. So first year was establishing the monstro lounge (and getting that sibling discount).

I imagine that in order to learn to share, their parents gave to Azul and Riddle a jar and went all like 'you 2 will share all the money in here. You gain money? You put it in the jar. You take money only from the jar.' Currently, the Jar is hidden under Riddle's bed, since the twins somehow cracked Azul's safe code for the valuts(it's called a hammer, Azul...) and weekly these 2 go over the income.

Second year is when the whole cannon thing happens and hoo Boi.

Riddle first catches Grim and contemplates if maybe he should use the Raccoon-cat on the twins. The headmaster said no tho :<

And then the freshmen... Oh the freshmen... No collar can seem to even hold down Adeuce. Jade suggested homicide and Riddle took it into account.

Azul came once to visit only to see Riddle chasing down Ace and bonking him with his staff.

In chapter 2, Azul also calls Riddle like: 'look... Kingscholar wants to sabotage my boyfriend, but he also is paying me some good ice cold cash for it... So I'm giving you half of the money if you bust him.' 'Give 65%'. '55% and dinner privileges...' 'Deal...' 'also... What did Shroud do?' 'it's Malleus-' 'SINCE WHEN YOU SMOOCH DRACONIA-' beeeeep! 'ASHENGROTTO GET YOUR ASS BACK ON THE PHONE!'

Yeah... Azul would never hear the end of THAT...

And while Riddle's ob doesn't happen, mostly since he got distanced from his mother, the source of his strictness and messed up view on the rules... Azul still had his piece of bullying, no matter what. Soooo :3

Chap 3 is more like Riddle realising that Adeuce messed up bad. He tries to talk Azul out of this, but it falls on deaf ears. In the first year this seemed bearable, but Riddle drew a line this year since it became messed up. That's mainly why he helped Yuu in here.

It gets messy, but that's Azul's wake-up to reality. At least he mends things first with Riddle, mostly cuz siblings! Yay! As if they weren't at each other's throats minutes ago. :D

By the end of the chapter, Riddle treats Yuu and Jack to dinner with money from the jar, knowing full well those are Azul's money as well. >:3

At the start of chap 4, when everyone is leaving for winter holiday, the braincell gang find out that Azul and Riddle are some kind of sibling and that's why Riddle's staying in. Adeuce's collective braincell just let out a big bang explosion at that info. Since Riddle didn't go with them at all to the museum (he tended to dorm duties), Adeuce were pretty much 'Dormhead is a fish?!'

Yep... Someone ace was kicked through the mirror that day.

Scarabia arc is mostly unchanged at the base. Just add in some smol Florid moments and Jamil losing his shit a bit less, since Riddle was at least a good student and if he rubs on Kalim, that may be beneficial.

Pom pom arc is also the same. :v

But then we have chap 6! Hoo boi... Chap 6.

Just Riddle losing his shit, mainly at Malleus cuz 'what do you mean your boyfriends got kidnapped and you are sitting here like a plant?!' Malleus just shrugs. He knows they would be ok. :3

Trey thinking finally Riddle would not chase after danger again, only to be meet with Floyd coming in since apparently Riddle desemned him to watch over Heartslabyul while he's gone.

Trey is both hurt and concerned as fuck-

Just Idia receiving a full slap across the face he plummets into the ground.

After the whole ordeal, Riddle tells Azul that he has very poor taste in men. And that comes from someone who's dating FLOYD of all people.

I imagine that there is a serious time gap in between chap 6 and 7, so that's where I'll pull the actual wedding in between the parents. So it comes like a big shock for everyone when they find out these 2's parents weren't actually married.

Idia having war flashbacks about the wedding, but Azul told him his parents want to meet him and Malleus. Now it's worse. Doesn't help that Riddle gives them the side eye after the whole STIX ordeal. :3

I imagine Idia probably going more whiter than is biologically possible when he sees Mr Rosehearts. Like man is towering over him, being taller than Malleus too, and you tell him that man is the biological dad of the red shortie-

Malleus tries his best to make a good first impression. He fails because he can't get social cues... :'3

And you bet Riddle's just poking at Azul like 'You can't go back into the pot... Mama expects both of us to be here'.

Skin Color: Moreno. Neutral undertone. Beautifully sun-kissed and proudly brown, after long hours under the sun, whether it be from toiling in the fields or wading in the waters.

Historically, mestizo/a* is used to refer to Filipinos of mixed Spanish blood. These days, it generally applies to anyone that appear foreign, if only by way of their fair skin.

*Grammatical gender is just not a thing in PH languages, even after integrating Spanish terms. As to the use of the term Filipinx, here's some great commentary by a PH linguist.

While I'm aware that fair-skinned Southeast Asians exist, fair-skinned Piri does not match up to how I view him spending the vast majority of his time outdoors & only wearing clothes that fully cover his limbs for formal occasions. No way is he going be white as non-existent-in-this-tropical-climate snow after 1500+ years in the fields and the seas and the wars in-between.

I, the artist behind all this terrible lore you all must suffer, may pass off as mestiza but the Philippines’ story encompasses many, not just the (mestizo) educated middle-class folks like me. I think that’s a fair (haha, ironic) enough representation.

If it means anything, Piri will rather eat papaya, not soak in it.

I did not think we would ever have discourse about skin whitening trends, but apparently we did. tl;dr unpack that sh*t.

Hair Color: I hate rendering pure black hair so there will always be a subtle brownish or blueish undertone. In Piri's case, I use a warm and very dark shade of brown as the base color. Like the grains of Balatinaw black rice grown in the Cordillera terraces, or the liberica beans cultivated in the Batangueño lowlands.

While I have joked that Piri disappears from the chapters because he has been at the salon getting his hair bleached, I personally wish that that last-minute change in detail never occurred. Upgrades to color palettes are all a natural part of the art glowup, but tossing that in the middle of a story arc ended up selling so weird to me. I live in the metro and you are bound to bump into Filipinos with bleached hair (I, myself, did so if only to nab my dream pink mane), but even people who dye their hair are rare still. You're more likely to encounter those who opted for brown highlights instead.

The ahoge is a surprise because it isn't in the Dec. 2020 teaser sketch, and I figure it's an allusion to the American influence - or maybe it's that Himaruya quirk of giving characters ahoges. Ngl, without the ahoge, Piri will look like a stereotypical BL manhwa uke.

Hairstyle: Side-swept hair with a fluffy & layered fringe.

It’s a trending hairstyle you’ll find with guys around here, albeit with an undercut instead of the unswept hair being combed down (in Piri’s case as I draw it). For formal occasions, all he has to do is slather the hair gel onto the fringe.

Piri was long past his 90s/early 2000s kachupoy phase.

I struggle with describing hairstyles through words (this is why I vibed with comics as a medium). I have recreated IndoPhil in my Sims 4 game there as closely as possible to how I imagine and the hairstyles I have given them are exactly what I have in mind.

Eye Color: Dark brown that becomes a fiery amber under direct sunlight. Glimmering like precious gold beneath the rich earth.

Any "color changes" are just reflections from light sources (ex. for scenes/illustrations where I let his eyes go gold, it’s playing on how dark brown eyes under direct sunlight can appear amber). I’d demonstrate with my own but I rather not burn my own eyes out for the aesthetic, so I have pulled out these images from a Google search instead.

Other headcanon colors I’ve seen (pearl, ube) are cute! I use pearl eyes for the diwata!Piri I've drawn (not sirena!Piri, because his shiny golden tail is already a huge, enamoring de...tail 🥁).

Nonetheless, I’m also content with the eye color I started with.

Height: I imagined him around 5’5” since the beginning, so I’m keeping the canon number. To quote one of my favorite nonfiction reads, the Philippines is not a small country.

Physique: Now I vehemently deny Himaruya’s canon for this. Maybe it’s on me growing up in an urban city littered with gym boys, but trust me when I say that Piri is absolutely THAT bakla who will use a photo revealing his well-built upper body as a Twitter profile picture.

I declare myself a twunk Piri artist. Some references I would cite are:

1). The UP Oblation statue.

2). Swimmer bods (if you don't believe, just look at the Free! anime)

3). Josh Dela Cruz!!!!!!

Piri did not earn his canon (modified) navy uniform nor go through a history book’s worth of revolutions, only to come out of it all a twink. As a Gemini, he’s full of physical adrenaline and that all has to go somewhere (chatting it away will not be enough).

He is of a swimmer build (think of the boys of Free!), with lean, softly-defined muscles, wider - if not broader - upper body (shoulders, biceps, back), narrow waistline, and fairly plump thighs. He also has what one will describe as a cute butt.

Piri is definitely not as beefy as Indo nor as chiseled as Thai (and hopefully I’ll sketch out the other SEAnigang too to explain this better). Admittedly, I also think it is ten times sexier to best know how sculpted Piri is by feeling his body (abang Indo, take notes!!). So yes, I have given my country abs, because if Hima won't I will he dasurvs it.

As a fun extra comparison, both Piri and Indo are the heavy eaters (in more ways than one, too) of the SEAnigang. Both will happily finish the leftovers from barkada eat-outs. Piri remains slim because he has higher metabolism.

Scars: He has a couple from bullet wounds across his collarbone. There is a nasty, large burn scar on his right side. His back has clearly taken multiple hits, and they have left quite the damage to the tattoos that have come before.

To me, nations can take hits and physically heal up just fine (the rate of recovery honestly varied). Some things simply leave a lasting mark.

2023 EOY In Advance

2023, where do I start.

I turned 30 this year.

I learnt that the moment we leave our twenties, you're naturally held a lot more accountable for your actions. You're no longer entitled to be "exploring in your twenties", and decisions now have a different sort of impact - heavier, if you will.

30s is also the lifestage where you see your childhood heroes differently. You see clearly for the first time the crinkles quickly increasing around their faces. Should the time come, you may even have to see the light fade slowly out from their eyes.

I faced my first very close death this year - my grandmother's. It was truly the biggest heartbreak for me, ever. Yet, as with Christian belief, we know we'll get to see her again and that she's in a better place now. I also got the offer of my current job at one of my dream agencies on the very morning right before her cremation. That was definitely... Truly and I hope, once in a lifetime experience.

I think I almost cried too upon learning about the death of Matthew Perry. Chandler Bing has definitely gotten me out of more than many crappy seasons across the years.

Moving on to brighter things.

Ed and I bought a house this year. We also got married. The journey of barely getting over a death, going through renovation, prepping the house AND doing probation is seriously just, what in the world HAHAHAHHA. I am so appreciative of him and everyone who has checked in on me, cheered me on, and all things that were truly supportive in any way possible. Especially Ed, who basically coordinated the entire renovation and delivering of our items to our house because I was in the midst of my probation. Can somebody please give my husband an award already? He accepts no less than a giant alpaca softtoy minimally.

Asides from Ed, other milestones included completely breaking past my pre-injury climb grades, attending a 10 week climb bootcamp that led to my knee recovering 100%, attending my very first proper graduation ceremony (for uni - look ma, I have a local degree! To think back in 2017 I thought SUSS turning into a local U was just a rumour, and I only applied there because dad made hella noise about school fees if both kids went to UB at the same time).

As usual, looking back at 2023 now, it truly has been quite an outstanding year. It was a LOT, ngl. Not very sure if I'd recommend to do it all over again heh.

Nonetheless, I'd like to take this time to say thank you to everyone who took time to grief or celebrate all my milestones with me this year. Literally. I don't know what I did to deserve all of you, and I hope it was because I left some impact or humour in your lives.

OKAY THIS MAKES ME REALLY HAPPY :D

when i make anything with choux pastry i use this recipe. at first i would make eclairs bc they’re arguably prettier and seem fancier, but i prefer making cream puffs instead. rather than having an ugly crooked eclair, you get a cute little dollop!! and i’ll just use a star tip when piping to give it ~texture~ and add just a little bit to it. also it freezes very well after baked. i usually have a bag of pre-baked puffs in the freezer. when i need them, i just stick them in the oven for a few minutes so they can crisp up and then voila.

also this is going to sound douchey and i swear i’m not a snob, but i really do recommend mixing the eggs into your choux pastry by hand. and if you need a bit more egg than what your recipe calls for, then add it slowly. the recipe i use calls for four but sometimes the eggs are small or maybe i dried the flour clump out too much on the stove idk. but i’ve learned to just trust my instincts (obvs these must be developed) and drizzle in a bit more egg when necessary. and then if you have a bit of egg left over, you can egg wash (i never do that lol) or if you’re like me, eat scrambled eggs for dinner.

now for my pastry cream, i started off with this recipe. as a standard vanilla cream, it’s lovely! ngl i picked it bc it had the least amount of egg yolks required. some require like five yolks and that’s just too many egg white omelettes for dinner for me. 

anyway, i’ve since started playing around with that recipe as a base to make different flavours by infusing the milk at the beginning. when i want to make earl grey, i add maybe like three tea bags and let that sit when the milk is coming to a boil.

and then over the holidays, i was making peppermint bark but then my dumbass seized the freakin chocolate so i ended up with a clump of hard gritty minty chocolate. there’s not much to do with seized chocolate lol, but you can add it into something where it’ll be 100% melted. so in this case i added it to the milk!! um i added prob like 1/2 a cup of it and it made the cream a bit thicker. not that i’m complaining. but just saying.

i seized some chocolate like last weekend bc apparently i cannot do something as simple as melt chocolate. i’d like to try using that to make maybe a mocha filling? so i’ll just melt the chocolate when the milk is coming to a boiler with some instant coffee. 

i’ve been asked to bake earl grey cream puffs for my friend’s wedding. i was thinking of giving her a few flavours, one of which might be ube. one of my coworkers has already insisted on being my taste testers. my mom suggested using ube jam, but i think that might be a bit too strong, so i might make a basic pastry cream (sans the vanilla or maybe with just a dash?) and then mix the jam into that. idk i need to test this. fortunately the wedding is still in june.

these brown butter chocolate chip toffee cookies are delicious. i never have flaky sea salt on hand. also i’ve never made an effort to find it. i have shamelessly just used coarse. 

this is the almond biscotti recipe i’ve been using. i’m still trying to get all the bake times down properly. man do not cut the biscotti without a hefty first bake. it’s just a mess if the cookie is still too soft. i’m a dumbass. but i learned my lesson!

i like this macaron recipe bc it’s fairly foolproof and if anyone has ever made macarons before.....yeah. my first time was good. my second time they were chocolate and just ended up looking like little swirls of shit lol. they tasted good though!! but yeah i find with that recipe the cookies are always nice and chewy. i also find that they don’t really crack. rather, they stay true to the form that they went into the oven with. i’ve upped my egg white to about 75g, but i do want to see if adding some more will changed how it all turns out. 

ok so my mom loves cheese tarts and i love my mom for her birthday last year i got her half a dozen (that’s generally how they’re sold) from three different places and we kind of ranked them to pick our fave. love you uncle tetsu but i’m still sad that you closed your matcha store i loved those matcha madeleines so much. anyway, i made these tarts for the fam and everyone seemed to like it. i did find the filling to have a bit of a grainy texture. still delicious though. tbh i haven’t tried recreating them yet. my friends gave me a set of mini tart pans for christmas though so i’ll try again soon.

and madeleines!! ok plains ones are nice, but frankly i find them kind of lacking. my personal favourites are ones that have a good hint of lemon and some icing sugar dusted on top. i haven’t made them in a while, but i definitely have a phase. if you ever want to and you need to buy pans, i recommend not giving into the temptation of buying the baby sized ones where the madeleines are like the size of your thumb (prob smaller). they’re great, don’t get me wrong, but the i think the full sized ones are way better. also since they’re virtually little cakes, i have shamelessly put the mix into a greased muffin pan or tart pan lol. i ran out of space in my madeleines trays and wasn’t going to go through a second round of baking. my utilities yo.

and these chocolate cookies. a very simple recipe but somehow everyone i’ve ever fed them to absolutely loves them. they’re like brownies. also i’m a lazy fuck and will not be bothered with rolling out the dough and making shapes. i literally just make little balls, press my thumb into them, and then move on. and if i feel like making them pretty, i melt some chocolate, dip the cookies in that, then dip them in sprinkles.

AND TRES LECHES. i fucking LOVE tres leches cake. ok i don’t remember what recipe i use, but i want you to know i love it.

How do you feel about the Canceled Ultraman Mebius & Ultra Brothers 2 movie?

It was going to be the actual sequence to Mebius & Ultra Bros instead of Superior 8 with Taro being the main character and having Higashi Kotaro Returning as he didn't returned in Mebius series neither the Movie.

The complete script actually does exists and it's AWESOME but it just wasn't turned into a Movie cause of Chaiyo problems, Budget and etc so they decided to go with Superior 8 which in my opinion is inferior

Ngl I never heard of this but it seems that this came from the 2009 Mebius Super Complete Works

This was definitely a love letter to the Showa era with just a shit ton of references to various episodes in the Showa series with the antagonist being Grand Tyrant, which I'm sure every veteran ultra fan has seen before:

I can definitely vibe with the whole plot since Taro was my first series I watched when I was 5 and he's my favourite ultra of all time as well so ik what happened with Kotaro and this plotline definitely did him justice

It definitely seems like it would've made a better movie than Superior 8 indeed (it felt so random iirc, not to mention it taking place in a parallel world).

Just certain aspects of the plot seemed too extreme like Marie getting the Hipporito treatment (tho it did somewhat made it into UZF s2 lol), Ken being kinda hands off, Leo, Astra, 80 and Hikari being not as involved etc as well as it seemingly having too much content to fit into a 2h movie (which tbf, made sense since they are trying to fit bascially a homage to 9 series into a single film while weaving a homage-based plotline, which is very difficult anyways)

Probably the only thing Superior 8 did better was the Giga Chimera's design lmao (I love the figure so much), Grand Tyrant just seems so cluttered

But also yes, the whole Chaiyo drama with the UB and Showa series lasted for 12 whole years before it was resolved, staggering TsuPro's progress greatly during that decade+, but thankfully TsuPro seems to have recovered from that but they're still facing some issues with BlueArc in China as well as the last bits of resistance from Chaiyo

It is incredibly disappointing though, and you have every right to be upset. All I can say is, if something hurts you, don’t invest your time and effort into it. jiaerrs: dude i totally get it if you’re having a hard time. one of my ubs fucked up in a similar way last week and blatantly ignored black fans who were sending him messages to educate him. while i can’t understand how painful it is firsthand as an asian woman, i understand completely if you’re feeling conflicted/upset/etc. over what mamamoo did. ngl, i was very disappointed when i saw them do blackface again after i was starting to get over their last incident. even with rbw stepping up and issuing apologies for multiple instances, it doesn’t seem genuine because it keeps happening. seeing the amount of people justifying it because bruno mars wasn’t black and bringing up sexist double standards to absolve the girls from their fuckups is a headache to deal with. whatever you feel is totally valid, and it’s fine if you’re not excited or maybe you are. i just hope no one gives you a hard time for doing either or!

katypery: i don’t know the details on how this scandal unfolded since i haven’t been following it but when i heard it i was extremely disappointed with them. i’m not a moomoo myself so i don’t follow their activities but i do hope they learn from their mistakes regardless. i believe you have the right to be hurt since this situation affected you directly and probably most of their black fans as well so it’s totally understandable if you don’t feel like enjoying this comeback! i personally don’t see anything wrong with you feeling that way so don’t go hard on yourself and support them only if you feel comfortable.

sunjis: first of all, i’m not black. honestly when a situation like this happens i don’t even get surprised anymore, which is sad, i always expect the worst to happen sooner or later but when it does i still get disappointed. regardless of being an idol i like, my relatives, someone from work/school, i just hope the person learns from their mistakes and keep an open mind when they hear critics. i got really surprised by rbw apology, but what saddened me the most were some fans reactions, defending them and therefore proving themselves of being completely ignorant. if what happened made you sad and you don’t feel excited anymore, it’s fine, really. it’s not worthy giving more chances to something that makes you feel bad and it’s not your or any fans obligation to educate them, sometimes we just have to get away and do what is the best for ourselves.

Like if they don’t bring you joy anymore you shouldn’t force yourself into it. Maybe it will pass with time maybe it won’t. I know that it must be sad and disappointing when your fave group fucks up and looses its magic for you because of that, but if it really bothers you shouldn’t feel obliged to accept it. I know that there is a certain pressure in kpop fandom to accept idols’ mistakes and that some fandoms are really nasty to people that can’t forgive their faves but this fandom culture is toxic and you primarily should focus on what makes you happy. Myself I was never really a fan of mamamoo and I won’t become one now.

1krystaljung:when mamamoo first did it i was rly dissapointed and upset of course… but then they apologized so soon after which was really surprising and i wanted to forgive them & believe they had really learned from their mistakes. like i don’t think i’ve seen many idols apologize when they’re in situations like this, so i thought it was great they were aplogizing and i believed it to be genuine and that they were really gonna grow and learn from it! but then… they jst went and did blackface again so shortly after lmao… like i really thought they had learned and listened to what people had to say but i guess the apology was just to save face and wasn’t really genuine at all lol?? so the whole thing is really upsetting to me and i lost a lot of respect for them, especially now that they’re caught up in the controversy of them wearing bindis… like……. do they not learn??? it feels like they don’t really care like at all lmao. aaaand that’s my opinion on that. sorry, but i don’t really have much to say on “working past it” because i was never really a mamamoo stan, i just listen to some songs here and there. if you decide to work past it, good luck, i know it can be kind of hard to work past something like that, especially since it wasn’t just a one time thing :/ and if you decide to drop them that’s totally understandable and i wouldn’t blame you

yoonbomis: i’m sorry that the situation has made u feel this way :( the situation did make me upset and quite shocked?? (since i’m not a big fan of mmm, i didn’t really expect it) and i’m glad that fans’ rightfully upset/offended/perhaps betrayed? feelings to it was able to get a least, an apologetic response out of mamamoo and their agency (if i remember right, they said things along the lines that they were going to aim to educate themselves on it?) but it is still something that is constantly in my thoughts whenever i think of or see mamamoo, so it did hinder my opinion of them. however, i still listen to their music, although not with the same enthusiasm as before. i’m sorry if i’m not too much help or comfort ;; (also because i am not a black woman) but i hope u are able to find a way to ease ur pain in a way that makes u comfortable and happy ^^

monoka: as a nonfan & someone who was never interested in them i have to say i avoid them as much as possible, because i got tired of their problematic antics. They have done so many things multiple times and still NOT learn. Their ignorance is amazing.

seulge: what bothers me the most is that mamamoo fans are quick to pretend that these girls did absolutely nothing wrong - or most of them at least. i will never forget seeing on twitter this one moomoo who was giving out false translations to protect mamamoo’s reputation or some bs. i do not like mamamoo as people anymore, and the fandom is equally toxic imo, so i stepped away a long time ago. i might check out the mv when it’s out and if the song is good, so be it. i’ll listen to it if it’s catchy.
