PARADISE LOST ☾
Tumblr media
INFO: 664 words, blade x gn!reader SYNOPSIS: your memory is only a spectre in the waking world and the world of dreams and nightmares. Blade chooses to suffer to hold a morsel of your existence once again. AUTHOR'S NOTE: ik i said blade was grandpa-core but like hear me out on this one (desperate men). also this is an old draft i just edited. 2 works in 1 day is absolutely unheard of for me don't get used to it. i want sleep but sleep don't want me.
Tumblr media
Blade dreams of paradise and eternal damnation.
That’s what you are to him.
Memories of you were the sole melody of his nightmares and his dreams, haunting him like a vengeful ghost in his fitful slumber, wiling away his voice of reason. In his dreams, your eyes are effervescent, and you reach out at him. To follow you, to help you, he doesn’t know. Doesn’t care. He just wants you to take him.
In his nightmares, you do the same. Your gaze wanders behind him, yet when he turns, nothing trails behind. You wade in murky, knee deep waters – lukewarm, not cold – but you never smile.
Or do you?
Recollection of your face becomes lost in the endless fog. He grapples at it, falls in the water, recomposes himself, but he can’t find your face again.
Your memory becomes a spectre in the back of his mind, and he simply can’t find it in himself to let you go. Those final wisps of rich laughter and warm touch would be replaced by the cold of your absence.
Cold, rigid. Rigor mortis, or lifeless.
Tacky with the blood drying, crusting, riddled into your skin with a sadistic artist’s eye. Your eyes were nearly as cold and distant as your touch, focused on some point beyond – and yet if he looked close enough, he could see the cosmos reflected in them.
Was that where you were now? Watching this pathetic farce of his from the heavens?
Blade hated himself for it. This pining thing he’d been reduced to.
He knew that short-lived species such as yourself could only exist through memory, lest they leave such a profound mark on the galaxy that the history books permit their names. Humans. Your bones and blood could crumble so easily.
He supposed he was the same way, another lifetime ago.
And even with what he had to endure, a million blades pointed at his own heart, he takes it upon himself to remember you.
There was also bone splitting in his dreams. Always resonant, always  deafening, but never resolute. It echoed through the prison of fog where he desperately scrambled to find you again. Almost taunting. Not quite. Those slivers of your memory were his anchor.
The thought of bringing you back had crossed his mind, however – he ached for it as a sick man to a remedy, a sinner awaiting repentance.
He craved your life like a drowning man, like the bound souls in graves craved solace and the desolate craved restoration.
But you were fading. Fading, like he was.
He just didn’t realise how short of a time it’d be.
He didn’t realise just how cruel the sands of time were, grinding while your corpse decayed until all that is left is a hollow set of eyes in a skull of aged ivory.
He didn’t realise exactly how fragile you were, when your cold, freezing fingers brushed his own, and he realised he was too late.
Mara stricken, they called it.
The fates were cruel in their verdicts.
Blade knew he would face a death of the same mechanism, corpse disfigured to the point of no recognition, but he didn’t care.
Anger gnawed at his conscience like the beast it was, raised its hackles as guilt fuelled its ferocity.
But your voice seemed to haunt him even in his waking hours. The wistful tones of your voice plaguing him like the mara stricken’s malady. Sometimes, he wondered if it was finally his time, at long last. Your voice would become so real, almost tangible – as if he could reach out and your hand would be waiting for his, your pulse thrumming beneath your thin skin.
There was light, too, in his dreams. Light that promised home and salvation and a cure.
But it didn’t matter. Not without you.
There was no light in the chasm of his mind, but your memory kept him sane. Eternal damnation, a spiral of malady, until you could finally be found again.

hii girllll i love you blog❤️🩷
a question here. you like bakugou?
I fucking adore Bakugo, like, he was my first anime crush — when everyone was hating MHA for being cringe, I was one of those girls who heard the "oi oi oi" song and may have kinda watched all of MHA for him (and Dabi icl).
I genuinely love Bakugo though — my initial reason for liking him was his voice but my main reason now is his determination. Characters like him who are always pushing forward, their ideologies firm, are ones I love the most, and I also see him as like the great husband material sort.
I feel like he's a very devoted lover, he'd fall in love ONCE and that's him set for life. Don't like him back at first? That's okay because he's set on making you fall head over heels for him- Ah, now I'm tempted to write a ff like this.

heyo!! 😋
🥭 Rank from most enjoyable/fun to write to least: Fluff, Smut, Angst, Crack.
Angst (literally the best u put on sad music and wallow and make the characters suffer a little for the plot LOVE) Crack (like i said i like my fanfic absurd icl. i like things that would never happen in published books bc it's not "realistic" that's why i read fanfic! i had regulus inject sirius with a paralytic and pilot a plane across the atlantic. why? idk bc i could! Love!) Fluff (kinda makes me cringe to write sometimes but it can be cute!) Smut (some of us grew up catholic and still blush writing smut 😔 (even though reading it is a different story lmfao) but also i'm too caught up in the technicalities and the pacing of it and i delete and rewrite and delete again so it's not the most fun for me tbh)
q's from this ask game!

omg girl I love the one where she falls asleep on him and he gets bored so he does an Instagram q&a to pass the time 😭 it’s not cringe at all and I was literally trying to find it the other day to reread… and the Photo Booth one where they kiss for the first time 🥰 don’t talk your old writing down so many of us love it 🤍
icl the photobooth one was probably one of my favourite ones to write. i just think bc my writing has changed so much and is a lot better reading my old stuff makes me ill bc it’s definitely not up to that standard and could definitely do w some work. i do apologise for deleting stuff i just like to be annoying

just curious, when did you start writing? you're one of my inspirations when it comes to it but i don't have any experience in writing stories and i can't reiterate my thoughts well ;-; everytime i read your works i can't help but be awestruck at how creative and immersive your stories are
awww you’re so sweet 🥹 i’ve been writing random nonsense in journals since i was a little kid but i wouldn’t consider that writing because i was just trying to get ideas down!! i started officially writing (ex coming up with full plots and typing them up on google docs) in likefebruary/march of 2021ish?? right about when i first watched aot!! it was def rough at first icl i had to private some of my stories from back then because they make me cringe looking back but sticking with it is the only way to get better!!
i have this post where i go more into depth abt my writing process and whatnot if that’s something you would want to read hehe but i think my biggest advice boils down to just write!! even if you think it’s terrible, it’ll help you get better, and the more you write, the more you’ll be comfortable with it. plus, there will always be people who love what you write, even if you think it’s horrible. we’re our own biggest critics and i’m sure you’re 10 times better than you believe yourself to be 💖

THAT SNIPPET
baby Harry content!!!!!
SIRIUS
Sirius
BEST MATES MEETING WHAT
oooh Marlene is this what I think it means?! 🤩🫣
LOL he stuck his finger in sirius’ mouth idk why that’s so adorable and ugh
I feel like you’re gonna make me cry by the end of this short story icl
It’s not you - it’s a feeling that automatically correlated with your writing bc it’s so damn angsty even with the fluff 😂😭
Do you recommend a particular chocolate to bear the pain?
I’m so glad you enjoyed the snippet.
While writing it, with all the baby Harry goodness and sulky James and amazing godfather Sirius, I was getting some serious Abditory flashbacks.
Harry having a best mates meeting with James and Sirius makes my ovaries want to burst.
Yes, Marlene. Definitely some Blackkinnon action. You already knew I loved them from Kalopsia!!
Babies sticking their fingers in your mouth is equal parts gross and cute at the same time. Like you just cringe but it’s endearing how that’s how they want to learn.
You’ll definitely hurt and cry for this new story. If you done, I’m just throwing in the towel and I’m going to stop writing. 😂😂😂
Get some chocolate with some peanut butter in it. That’ll ease the pain!!

Morality just wants to be cool
i’m v aware that I’m not funny thanks, fite me
God, writing this made my brain hurt.
@princey-and-hottopic and @prinxietys y'all I could tag you so I’m gonna do that
((this was originally supposed to be an angst but I’ll write that later))
Warnings: None (if I missed something make sure to message me!)
————
Morality really missed the old days.
As the oldest to appear in the mindscape, he had been the one to greet each new side with open arms and plenty of cookies!
But things have changed. They never sat together for meals, they barely talked anymore, barely even saw each other.
Morality just wanted things the way they used to be.
So, he did what anyone does when they want to know something. He grabbed his laptop and searched google.
“How to be a cool dad??” Was the first search he typed, waiting for the screen to load and give him his answers.
A short list of YouTube videos popped up, the first being, “the coOOL DAD LOL!!1!!¿!¿”
Huh.
‘That seemed like a creditable source!’ Morality thought while he clicked on it, the transparent bubbles of the YouTube loading scroller rolled around his screen.
When the video loaded Morality immediately cringed at the bad quality. Everything was fuzzy, but he would gladly go through that for his kiddos.
A man in shiny gold parachute pants ran out, a snapback on backwards and shutter shades over his eyes. He ran into the crowd of kids and dabbed, neigh neighing away slowly as he kickflipped on a skateboard and rolled away, still dabbing, shouting “swag, yolo” and other various slang terms as he went.
……..what?
Morality was in complete shock. Is…was that really how “Kool Kids” acted??
Well…….uh….okay?
If that was really what he was supposed to do then… That’s what he would do.. I guess?
Still a little stiff, he toddled over to his closet, digging through the depths of the area to find his old clothes.
–[next morning]–
Anxiety stumbled into the kitchen, nearly tripping over his own feet as he walked to the coffee maker, pouring it into Prince’s dry bowl or Coco Puffs.
“Okay MCR, that was my bowl. “Prince said from by the fridge, the gallon of milk clutched in his hand.
Anxiety grabbed a spoon, taking a big mouthful of the coffee-cereal wreak with a smirk."Get over it Aurora. Unless you like extra caffeinated Coco Puffs, it’s my bowl now. "He hefted himself onto the counter, taking another large bite to spite the fanciful side and sagging his shoulders against the microwave.
Logic was the next to enter the kitchen, grabbing a couple eggs from the fridge and starting to make himself a couple fried eggs. "I hope you didn’t use all the coffee to create your abomination of a breakfast."Logic muttered, casting a slightly irritated and disappointed look at the nearly empty coffee maker.
As the three made their respective breakfasts, it wouldn’t occur to them that this was the first time in weeks they had all been in the same room for more than a minute, or that Morality had yet to arrive.
But they were about to notice Morality. Oh boy were they about to.
Morality made a mental note that skateboarding on carpet was difficult, the wheels sinking into the plush rug underneath him. Slowly but surely he scooted his way to the kitchen, checking to make sure the baseball cap he got from Thomas was just perfectly crooked.
When Morality skated (when did he get a skateboard??) into the kitchen, Anxiety choked on his cereal.
The father figure was wearing a pair of silver hot pants with a tank top, snapback flung backwards over fluffy and wild hair. He had a shark tooth necklace and his normal lensless glasses were replaced by shutter shades.
He looked like a love child of the past and future fashion styles and honestly Anxiety was unsure how to react.
"Mo?”
Through shutter shades Morality dabbed, giving Anxiety a fist bump. “What up my wiggity whack dude bros??” Morality asked, doing a quick cabbage patch before swaggering over to the fridge and pulling out a dank box of frozen waffles.
“My Krazy Kiddos just chillaxin in the digs?” He asked in the same over the top voice, dabbing twice.
“Morality what the hell has gotten into you??” Logic said, surprising them all. The teacher looked at Morality incredulously, his eyes wide.
“Some krazy Kool kidzs spirit!! I’m your cool pops, you whack dad!!” Morality proclaimed, ju-juing on that (non-existent) beat.
With that, his waffles popped and he rolled on out of the kitchen, leaving the rest of the sides to stare in horror.
Okay, Morality was becoming an issue, Logic decided.
He started to show up that way to videos to. He was screwing Thomas moral compass up and worst of all he kept using those stupid slang words.
Logic rarely understood Morality when he spoke, but this was too much. What did dank even mean???
This he spent much of his week avoiding Morality and plotting with Prince and Anxiety on how to get remold Morality back.
They approached him one day while he was in his room, spray painting slang words on his walls.
“Morality, we need to talk-”
Morality spun around, wearing four snapbacks at once and a mullet. “What’s up muh krazy kidz? How can your kool pops-icle help you out??”
Logic cringed, Prince taking over the conversation.
“Morality this is getting out of hand, why did you change yourself like this?? Why won’t you stop?”
Morality frowned, Prince was being super un-rad about this. “It’s all for you my special Bois!”
All three blinked. “What?”
Morality swagged up and down, a funky fresh beat all up in his noggin.
“My three favorite bros had been all separated which was v un-rad my broskis. But now that I’m hopping and popping you’ve been spending more clock wags together than in a long time babes. ”
It took a brief moment for them to decipher what Morality had said. Anxiety stepped up, pulling Morality into a hug. When he let go and stepped back, the snapbacks and mullet cane with him, Anxiety throwing them to the side.
“Morality. Dad. I’ll admit, I’ve been a but distant recently, but this is over the top. ”
Morality nodded dankly. “Yeah, i’m picking up what you’re throwing down. I just wanted it to be like old times, ya know?? When we would at least be chillaxin on the couch with a poppin movie and some hot corn…..”
They all stepped forward, embracing Morality tenderly.
Prince was the first to speak. “How about this, we can have movie and dinner nights??” Morality nodded softly, squeezing Prince’s swol bicep comfortingly.
Anxiety was next. “I’ll….. Hop and bop out of my room more often, how about that?” Morality nodded excitedly, a peek of his old self appearing behind the six pairs of shutter shades.
Logic finally stepped up. “I can make time for you all between my researching sessions…. I suppose. ” Morality squealed, grabbing all of them and pulling them into an embrace, a couple pairs of shades falling off.
“You guys are my baes…. And my ultimate fam.”
Just this once they rest decided to let that comment go, as it seemed to be affectionate.
But dank Morality would never be returning.
Ever again.

NO SHOWS - NO MONEY?: How can you make money through music without live shows?
Tumblr media
NOTE: the information below does not constitute legal advice. The following are some general suggestions on how matters could be handled for those in the music, creative and events industries who have been effected by the implications of the Corona Virus.
During times when artists have no shows it is recommended you look at any other ways you can make an income.
Firstly it may be worth considering other work. Trust me I whole heartidly understand creatives and musicians so I am cringing as I write this.  BUT remember this would be a temporary measure, it would not be your career or instead of your career but just a short term means of getting by until live shows are more regular and going ahead again.
You can of course also look at other ways of making money from your music career. For savvy artists you will be doing this anyway so now is the time to develop this further, add new possibilities and maximise on existing ones.
For some this is an area previously overlooked so will provide an opportunity to maximise income ongoing into the future.
Suggestions on other ways to make money through music include:
*Joining the Music Artists And Industries - Unite (MAI-U) Group on Facebook for support, work opportunities, ideas to make an income.
https://www.facebook.com/MusicArtistsIndustriesUnite/
ARE YOU OWED MONEY?
*If you are owed money chase up on this immediately. No matter how old the invoice/money owed to you may be call it in, you need it.
*Check if you’re owed performance royalties from entities such as PRS for Music. If you are not already registered with PRS now is the time to change that so you aren’t missing out in future. That time you would have spent doing a live show this week, well use a fraction of it to go onto the PRS website and register. Even if you aren’t already registered if you are quick you may be able to claim royalties back to the start of this year.
https://www.prsformusic.com/join
DOWNLOADS ETC
*Ensuring your music is available to buy online on as many platforms as possible. Promote the fact your music is available to buy on line and use this time to get creative with your promotion. CD Baby, Spotify, Soundcloud, iTunes, Discogs, RDio.
*Submit Your Music to a Record Club – services like Feedbands.com stream your music to their listeners, they plant 1 tree for every 100 streams, get enough streams and they start paying you. It’s not much but you’ve got nothing to lose.
*Give Away Your Music for Free – this may sound like an ineffective thing to do but for some artists it can really work, sites like NoiseTrade, offer full albums or samplers for free but give listeners/patrons the option to tip. Given the option to choose how much you tip rather than being told what to pay can have some usefully surprising results.
LIVE
*Host live listen/watch party’s such as those on Facebook and provide/promote a link whereby watchers can pay a donation for their favourite requests of your songs, you then prioritise playing/performing these. For interaction and to gain more viewers do Q&A’s from the comments inbetween songs. Here’s an example: https://www.facebook.com/134366399928348/posts/3117307551634203/?d=n
Also check out this document for advice:
https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/11wWL_7I4BG76t0V2kw1a4yIeWxUSfGwMQFYdUWAgSnA/mobilebasic
*Host live listen/watch party’s whereby you play the songs of other up and coming artists and provide constructive critique on the songs. Music producers are particularly keen users of these set ups. Hosts tend to get long waiting lists of songs sent to them that they are requested to play. Hosts provide/promote a link whereby those who have sent songs can pay a small donation for their song to be bumped up the queue and prioritised to be played before those that haven’t paid. So if you have paid, your song gets heard first before non payers songs.
*If you have the means you could host live online concerts on a pay per view basis via private link or join a group that organises online music events such as this one: https://facebook.com/events/s/covideo-19-live-stream-fest/848080308998804/?ti=icl
DISTRO & SYNCH
*Look at distribution and synch opportunities. You may want to look at offering your music for Direct Sync Licensing. You’ll need to make connections in the TV and film industries and work out deals to license some of your music to them. But right now you have the time to search for those connections and reach out and do this, don’t be afraid to ask others who have done it for their advice.
*Create Music for Video Games. This also involves reaching out to make connections  in the video game producing industry. But there’s no time like the present.
* All Media sync licensing will extend your license to all forms of media, like commercials, TV shows, etc. Look at singing up for All Media Sync Licensing with a Library. CD Baby makes this possible through a partnership with Rumblefish.
*Produce Music for Commercials – easier said than done but maybe not as difficult as you think. Start by looking at smaller and local businesses nearby you who make online commercials and videos to promote their business. Rather than them uses the same old typical video/commercial backing music that everyone else’s uses give them the opportunity to have their own bespoke music for their commercials. Or let them listen through you existing songs and negotiate a license for them to use it.
*Get on Shazam. Ever heard a song somewhere on TV, on an advert, in a shop etc and wondered who it’s by? You’ve probably already heard of it but you can use Shazam to identify that song for you. But it relies on that song being in the Shazam database. Getting in the Shazam database is a must if you you are expecting your music to be used on a TV show or commercial. CD Baby can help you get into the Shazam database.
WEBSITES
*Set up an online shop or a link to a set up where people can buy music and merch online from you. If you have the skills to use Facebook then you’ll most likely have no problem building your own website (if you don’t have one already) that you can sell from or provide link where people can buy your music and merch from.
To build your own website you can use a fee service such as WordPress, Wix or check out something more involved like HostBaby. CD Baby and alike are is a great places as a marketplace, but remember not to rely on them for all of your promotion.
*Join Amazon, ITunes and CD Baby’s Affiliate Programs – If you are already selling your music through these channels you can then make some commission for your efforts. The affiliate links need to be placed from your own website. Join CD Baby’s affiliate program.
*Be an Affiliate for Music Companies/brands. Endorsement deals can be hard to obtain but you may be able to sign up to receive an affiliate commission. These kinds of set ups mean you receive a commission every time someone makes a purchase from the company/brand because of you. Sign up with https://www.gear4music.com/information/affiliates-program
Also try with Musician’s Friend
SELL ‘YOUR’ MUSIC
*Sell Video Recordings of Your Live Performances, this could be done via your website or social media channels.
*Offer Acoustic Versions of Your Music. It may be an option that you can record acoustic versions on your music. You can then offer your fans a different version of your songs and you can promote it just like you do with any new songs you make.
*Offer Your Single as a Ringtone. Your fans may love your songs so much they want them as as their ring tone. You can create your own ringtones and make them available on iTunes.
WRITE
*Write bespoke songs for people - they pay a fee, you write a song for them
*Write for a Music Publication. Contact all music publications and magazines with details of your music background and expertise. Include a sample of an article you have written (it doesn’t have to have been published) to show that you can write. Even if they don’t have any paid opportunities if they have enough readers and allow you to include a link to your website/socials, or mention your music that you’d like to promote you may be able to get a monetary return than way.
*Publish a Book. Write a book on a music related subject. Contact publishers to try to get it published or look at self publishing.
https://selfpublishing.com/self-publishing/
*Create a Blog to Promote Your Music. Blogs are super easy to set up. Try Wordpress, Tumblr, Wix to see which you prefer for setting up your blog. Don’t forget to include the links so readers are directed to where they can buy your music and merch.
*Start a Music Blog and Help Other Musicians. You can start a blog to include articles (rather like this one) to share your experiences and advice as an artist. As you build up the articles on your blog and attract more readers you can eventually package up your advice into guides which you can sell online.
*Monetise your blog. You can use the affiliate suggestions above to help monetise your blog.
