[tentacle] The monster under the bed
tentacle!monster x human!Reader Good to know: somnophilia, a bit of dub-con
Summary: Your aunt's house is not as empty as you thought.
A/N: For kinktober 2023, I have a new town full of monsters. Here is the masterlist.
The change in the air is thick and heavy after you leave the Welcome to Grimbrook sign behind you. You feel it in your core. It's cold and silent. For a second, everything goes quiet, and the time seems to stop. The rumbling of your car gets muffled, and the colors of the lush, green forest at your sides fade into a milky fog flowing above the ground. You can't see the tall mountains and their sharp edges in the distance anymore. The clear blue sky turns gray, and you can't find the sun anymore, either. Just a few dim rays shine down on the road in front of you, showing your way to the village next to the sea.
As you get closer, you can smell the salty scent of the water even through the closed windows of your car. It's heavy in your nostrils. The sound of the waves gets louder too. From the top of the uphill, you can see the village with its old stone buildings and the sea behind everything. It seems colorless, merging into the dark sky at the horizon. It is beautiful and terrifying at the same time. There is something in Grimbrook that you can't pinpoint but freezes your insides. The only light you can see comes from a lighthouse at the edge of a cliff. It emits a soft, rhythmic beam of yellow light that cuts through the heavy fog, casting eerie shadows over the still village. Seagulls glide through the mist above the white seafoam, waving across the dark surface.
"Okay," you hum, forcing your eyes to go back to the GPS on your phone. The blue line clearly shows your way to the house you have to reach before night falls. It leads you out of the center of the villages until you reach a small suburb with Victorian houses standing in a long row with grand iron gates and gardens.
The monotone voice of the GPS informs you when you reach the right house, and after sitting in your car for a few more minutes, you have no other option but to get out and make your way up to the porch. The wooden planks creak under your steps as you look around a bit better. The house is old, with tall walls, characterful windows, and a dark green door with a golden knocker in the middle. It's cold in your hold as you knock it against the door.
You don't get an answer, though.
The door opens, and you find yourself facing a narrow foyer with stairs on the right side. Pictures and paintings hang on the walls in dark wood and golden frames. You can see the entrance of the kitchen at the end. And on your left side, there is an arch that leads you to the living room.
"Hello?" You break the silence. Your voice is hoarse and quiet. You have to force your legs to move and not turn back to your car and leave this place immediately. "Somebody?" Your gaze lands on a small table in the corner next to the entrance door. There is a letter with your name on it.
Dear Cat, I'm sorry I can't be here when you arrive. Make yourself at home, and we will talk tomorrow. Delilah
"Great," you sigh, letting the paper fall back onto the surface of the small table.
For a second, you think about searching for a hotel or something similar to spend the night, but to be honest, it doesn't sound much better either. You know you should leave the town to feel better, but it's not an option. So you close the door behind you and wander further into the house.
You got a call a few weeks ago about your aunt you met long years ago. She died, and now you have a house. You can keep it. You can sell it. Whatever you want.
The house is old, with a lot of wood, dark colors, and golden details. There are still newspapers from months ago on the coffee table in the living room. The rug under you is faded and thin. The floor creaks every now and again. There are two rooms and a bathroom upstairs. The bigger room is still occupied with your aunt's belongings. The scent of her perfume still lingers in the air. You remember her when you were a kid. She came to your grandmother's funeral, and you never saw her again. Nobody really talked about her in the family. The only things you know are that she was kind but preferred her own company above everything else. She lost her husband in her late twenties but stayed in Grimbrook, barely leaving the town.
The guestroom is much more bare than the other parts of the house. A bed in the middle with two nightstands and a lamp. There is a drawer in front of it and a mirror on the wall. The window is slightly open, letting in the cold autumn breeze. You have a view of the street from here. It's calm and empty. The only reasons you know you are not the only person in the town are because you can see a few cars here and there and a dog barking in the distance. The fog is thick and heavy. You can't see the end of the street through it.
After wandering around the house some more, you decide to call your friend until you have no other option but to change and try to get some sleep.
Climbing up on the bed in the guest room, you settle under the thick covers. The scent of the linen is faded and mixed with dust and the night air coming through the window. It's dark outside, not counting a few lamps on the street. Their orange lights filter into the room. And everything is quiet. So quiet that your ears almost start to ring. You are not used to it. You live in the city with constant noises.
When sleep takes you, it's restless and everything but relaxing. You fidget and turn, trying to find a comfortable position as you balance between the darkness and the real world. Your head feels just as foggy as Grimbrook, and at some point, you can't decide if you are dreaming or not.
You are on your back, one arm on your stomach, and the other is next to your body. The autumn breeze caresses your skin, moving up from your feet to your ankles and calves. Shiver runs through your spine at the feeling. You want to reach out for the blanket, but even though your arms move, they do not obey your command. Something pets the thin skin of your wrist. It's soft and barely noticeable. You feel your muscles stretch as you reach up to the headrest of the bed, but you don't even know why. The cold moves up further on your legs. It curls around your flesh, spreading you in the middle of the bed. Your heels dig into the mattress. Your body tenses when your limbs don't do as you want. A frown deepens between your brows.
"What?" A hoarse grunt leaves your lips. When you open your eyes, you meet darkness, and you are not sure if you are really awake or not. Your eyelids are heavy, and not even a second later, you fall back asleep again.
The bottom of your pajama slips down on your legs. The waist stretches around your parted legs. Something slides up on your stomach under your t-shirt. It is slick and soft. A gasp echoes in your room when it flicks your nipple. The thing curls around the flesh of your tits, groping and caressing. Your nipples harden under the strange touch. Saliva? A tongue?
Where are you?
And there is something else between your legs. The muscles of your thighs tense, and the hold around you tightens.
"What?" You groan again into the silence. As you look down on your body, you see your t-shirt around your neck. Your breasts are bare. Something dark and purple curls around them, squeezing and licking. The teasing on your nipples is almost painful. At the back of your mind, you want more. Your head falls back onto the pillows, and you are asleep again.
The tentacles between your legs move up and down on your pussy. Your panties are ruined between your wet center and the slick touch of theirs. One of them flicks your clit. Your back arches at the feeling. The cold night air hits your aching pussy when the thin fabric is pulled aside. One of them stays around your clit, flicking and rubbing the hard bud. The other one goes straight to your hole.
You want to move. To get closer or farther away, you can't decide. The tendrils don't let you go anyway.
You break the silence with a sudden moan. The limb enters you slowly. It slips into you easily, stretching your walls until you can't take another inch. It fills you up.
"Fuck," you groan.
Your breasts are soaked. The slickness on your skin shines under the dim streetlights. The tentacles play with your flesh, rubbing and pinching your nipples. The pain takes your breath away every now and again until you feel dizzy.
The others between your legs move without pausing even for a second. Your clit throbs, and your walls flutter. Pleasure flares inside your veins, rushing through your body with such force you never felt before. Your lungs burn for air, and your muscles ache as you lay taut, panting.
When you open your eyes, you see the ceiling and the old lamp hanging above you. You want to force your mind to think, to panic, to do something, but your senses are full of pleasure. The only thing you can do is moan and grind against the tentacle inside your pussy. It pounds into you, reaching every spongy spot inside that makes you see stars and beg for more. The sheet under you is soaked with your mixed juices. You can feel it dripping out of your hole.
Fuck, you want to shout, but you can't find your voice. You just shake and tremble in the hold of the limbs keeping you in place on the bed. Every nerve in your body is on edge, and when it snaps in your lower stomach, you can't remember how to breathe. Your climax forces you down and stops you from moving. A thin layer of sweat shines on your bare skin. Heat burns you from the inside, and your pussy flutters and sucks on the tendril inside you. It still moves in and out. It twitches and rubs against your walls. And doesn't stop even when the darkness envelopes you again.
When you wake up the next morning, you need a few minutes to remember where you are. The sun shines through the window, casting an orange hue over the old rug in the middle of the room. As you sit up, your t-shirt falls back over your torso, but your pants are still around your knees.
"What?" You grunt out. The question is barely louder than a whisper. Your hand shakes as you reach down between your legs. Your pussy is wet, sensitive, and swollen. A moan escapes you when your fingertip slides over your slit.
Your dream is still vivid in your mind. You can feel the tentacle in your pussy, using your hole and rubbing your clit. Your center starts to throb with need at the memory. And your breasts. Your other hand grabs one of your tits. Your nipples are still hard peaks through the thin fabric of your shirt.
"Hello? Cat?" The sudden noise snaps your head up to the door of your room. The voice comes from the entrance of the house. "It's Delilah." "Hey!" You croak out. You are not even sure if she can hear you. "I will be down in a minute." "Great!" She shouts back. "I will make some coffee, and we can talk about your plans with the house." Your fingers sink into your hole. You are still stretched out. You move in and out of your pussy easily.
Yeah, you think, you need a few nights if you want to decide about your plans.

Ugh, Whimsical!reader x James (not together yet) where anytime she says something he just has the most lovesick look on his face and Sirius is like “we’ve lost him, boys” but then reader quips back with something about looking at those you’re comfortable and friendly with boosts your seratonin and you’re glad to have James look at you if it makes him happy
Thanks for requesting babe!
James Potter x whimsical!reader ♡ 932 words
“You seem like you’re feeling better today, Remus,” you say, passing him a cup of tea. You give one to Sirius, too, then James. It’s got a couple of little flowers floating on the top, James notices. Adorable.
Remus looks a bit caught offguard. “I am, thanks. How’d you know?”
“Your aura’s looking less gray than usual.”
Sirius snickers. “Just like you to have a gray aura, Moons. Boring.”
You settle on the couch beside James, crossing your legs underneath you. “I don’t think Remus is boring,” you say, voice soft and airy as dandelion fluff. “His color often just looks a tad sapped. It’s bluer today.”
Remus seems to perk up a bit at your appraisal. He does look well, James thinks, but your noticing improves his color even more. Remus doesn’t like being viewed like a helpless, afflicted lamb, and you never have treated him like one, save whatever you put in his tea (it takes a few minutes longer to make than the rest of yours, though James pretends not to notice).
James watches you watching Remus, and his heart gives a happy little throb. You’re so kind, considerate in ways which you play off as incidental, but he can see the effort you put into taking care of the people in your life. He doesn’t know how you know half the things you do, but you’re always looking out for them. He’ll be waiting for Sirius to come home late at night and you’ll text to ask if everything is okay, or Remus will be having one of his worse days and you’ll show up unannounced with chocolates and juniper bound with twine to “cleanse” their flat, whatever that means. Or when James was sick with the flu a few weeks ago, and Remus and Sirius both swore they hadn’t said a word to you but he’d woken from a nap to find you sitting beside him with soup and a very strong elderberry tea. He’s fairly sure your presence had healed him just as much as the sustenance. You have that effect on him.
“Do we all have auras?” Sirius asks, and James comes out of his reverie to find his friend watching him with a poorly concealed smirk. He supposes he’s had that look on his face again. Lovestruck.
“Of course.” You give Sirius a funny smile, like this should be obvious. “Everyone has an aura,” you say, “we just can’t all see it all of the time.”
“What’s yours look like?” James asks.
Your lips part in surprise as you turn to look at him, your knee bumping his thigh. “I can’t see my own. I’d have to ask someone else.”
“What about mine?” Sirius asks.
You turn back to him. James feels the loss. “Right now, it’s mostly orange.”
“Right now?”
“Yours shifts a lot. A couple of minutes ago, it was pinker.” You tilt your head, considering. “You’re very sunset-y today, Sirius.”
Sirius grins, and James knows that whatever his friend may think about auras, he’s going to carry that compliment with him for the rest of the week. “And what about our Jamesie? What’s his aura like?”
“Oh, James’ almost never changes.” You look over at him with a small smile on your face. Maybe James is flattering himself, but he feels as though there’s a faintly secretive quality to it, like some part of your smile is just for him. “His is always yellow. Though I have been noticing a bit more red than usual lately.”
James isn’t sure he can speak with your eyes on him like this. You’re so lovely it’s choking him. Thankfully, Remus comes to his aid.
“Is that a good thing?” he asks. “It shifting, I mean.”
You don’t turn away from James like he expects you’re going to. You hold his gaze, that smile broadening just slightly. It has all the soft radiance of moonlight.
“I don’t think so,” you say. “It’s not making him any less himself, it only means that something has changed.”
“Good god,” Sirius stage-whispers to Remus. “Look at him, we’ve lost him completely. Bet it gets redder every time he looks at her.”
“It does, a little.” Your eyes flit upwards, presumably to colors which he can’t see but he imagines his face is starting to match. “It might be the serotonin boost. Looking at people you care about will do that.” You set a hand on top of his, thumb stroking over the knuckle of his pinkie finger. James’ mouth is a desert. “I’m happy to have James look at me if it makes him happy.”
Sirius lets out a short laugh. “I’m sure it does, sweetheart. He’s—”
Remus must elbow him, because he goes blessedly silent.
“I’ve been wondering,” Remus says mildly, “do you give us different kinds of tea? They always look different from each other.”
“Oh, yes.” You finally break your gaze away from James’, but your hand stays atop his. It’s hardly a whisper of a touch, and yet he’s very concerned you’re somehow absorbing every thought and feeling he’s having through some freaky osmosis. It doesn’t seem wholly out of the realm of possibility for you. “I make them with different ingredients for each of you.”
Sirius quirks an eyebrow. “In that case, can I try a new one next time? This one tastes a bit like dirt.”
You shrug, nonplussed. “If you like, but it might not do as much for you.”
“What do you put in them?” Remus asks curiously.
You take a sip of your own tea. “Just what you need.”

A dance with death (and her wife) (Part 8)
You struggle after Rio and Agatha disappear from your motel room
Word count: 5500
Warnings: murder, sex, oral, strap-on, sex toys
A/N: thank you to everyone who read this fic and I really hope you guys are satisfied with the ending!
It’s been a month since you’ve last seen them.
It’s been a month since they fled your motel room and left in their respective cars, going somewhere, because they either thought you were serious about catching them, weren’t entirely sure, or for some third reason unknown to you.
You can’t believe they would just leave like that. Leave you like that. After everything, they thought you would just betray them?
Blood had boiled through your veins that night, anger at having come so close to what you think you’ve always wanted, and you had swept through the room in a tornado, throwing flowers and shoving papers off the table and banging on the wall. Tony tried to get you to calm down but you had snarled and he had looked at you like you were a feral, rabid animal.
Maybe you were.
You grabbed your keys and stormed off to your car, leaving Tony to deal with the dead body. Lead foot on the gas pedal, you drove hysterically to Agatha and Rio’s house, pleading and begging and praying that they would be there.
It didn’t even look like they had come back. You turned the place upside down, out of rage, out of fear, out of hurt.
You had sunk to your knees and hadn’t moved from your spot on the floor the entire night until you felt a hand on your shoulder after light was breaking through the windows.
Looking up, a pinch of hope in your heart, you were incredibly dismayed to find that it was only Tony.
“Come on, kid,” he had said. “Let’s get you home.”
You had numbly agreed and two hours later, you were on the jet with him flying back to Miami. He had told the Westview PD that you had gotten far too entangled in the case and that for your own safety, he was pulling you off it. Plus, it seemed that the killers had left Westview.
You couldn’t bring yourself to reveal their identities, even though you knew it wouldn’t be hard for them to piece it together with Agatha and Rio gone too.
When you had landed back in Miami, you had attempted to resume your normal life, but the memories of their mouths against yours and the thrill you felt with them haunted you.
The cases in Miami were boring, even when it was a female killer. It was as if all the colors in the world had faded and everything was just a dull gray now.
Tony made you go to therapy but it didn’t help. And you kind of had trust issues with therapists now.
You would wake up, go to work in a zombie-like state, come home, and sit in the dark until you dozed off, hoping you would wake up to find them standing there.
They never did.
Two weeks after coming back, the bags under your eyes were prominent and you looked racoonish, you were hardly eating because you couldn’t taste it, and you were getting maybe two hours of sleep a night. You spent the nights now pouring over the database, trying to find new cases that could be them in case they were trying to send you a message.
Nothing. The Witch and Lady Death, Agatha and Rio, had completely vanished.
They had brought you into their life, made you remember what you did, made you into a murderer, and then left. You were supposed to be with them right now, wherever they were.
It was funny, you hadn’t been completely sure you wanted to go with them until you couldn’t.
The irony left a bitter taste in your mouth.
“Agent, you need to stop all this moping and crying,” Tony had finally snapped at you one day, about three weeks after you’d been back. “They’re gone, they got away, let it go. You’re going to kill yourself if you keep this up.”
You had clenched your jaw, your resentment at him being the reason why you were here coming back with a vengeance. It had dissipated a little, but now it was a roaring fire in your head. “I quit,” you had said, and his mouth had dropped open but you were already putting your badge and your gun on his desk.
It has been a week since that, and you’ve spent it curled up on your couch, staring into space.
There’s a knock on your door and you stumble toward it. The pizza guy is standing on your porch and you take the box and hand him a $20 before slamming the door in his face.
You’re not sure when the last time you’ve actually said a word out loud was.
Maybe since you’ve quit.
You know you’re in a depressive episode, it happens sometimes, but this one feels worse than all the others.
And then the sadness turns to anger and how dare they do this to you. Do they not realize that they’ve completely fucked up your life? Are you ever going to see them again?
When you get to the bargaining point soon after, because apparently you’re going through the five stages of grief, a plan begins to form in your mind.
Their murders brought you to Westview. Maybe you can bring them here.
For the first time, you let yourself go into the suitcase of clothes they gave you. You reach into the small pocket of it and pull out a vial, one you took from their house on the last night when you had torn through their house. One of Agatha’s “potions.”
And you finally feel life starting to seep back into your bones.
Now you just had to figure out who. Could be a random person, it would definitely be easier that way. But you need to draw attention to yourself, need to make sure that they see it.
Your doorbell rings and you shove the vial back into the bag and go see who it is.
It’s Tony. You swing open the door and he breezes past you into your living room.
“Come on in,” you mutter sardonically under your breath, your voice sounding hoarse.
You can hear him scoff and then the curtains are drawn and you wince when you realize just how dark it’s been in here. The sunlight burns you and you take in the mess that your house has become. Plates with half-eaten food and cups still mostly full litter the coffee table and bookshelves, stuff you couldn’t even be bothered to clean.
Tony points to the box of pizza. “Early lunch?”
As if you know what time it is. “Yeah, something like that,” you shrug. Did you order that today? Or was that from yesterday? The day before? It’s all completely blurred together.
“How are you doing?” He asks and you almost snort.
How does it look like you’re doing? “I’m hanging in there,” you say and he forces a smile. There’s an awkwardness between you and the man who used to be a father figure and you know it’s all your fault.
“Why don’t you come over for dinner tonight? Pepper’s out of town and it’s just me, so let me cook something for you. I want to make sure you’re eating, I’ve been worried about you,” he admits and it tugs at your heartstrings just a little.
You nod. “Yeah, okay, sure. What time?”
He checks his watch and you can see 11:31 am on it. You could’ve sworn it was some time in the evening. “How about six? I can make some pasta? Chicken alfredo, your favorite, how does that sound?”
“That would be great,” you agree, trying to ignore how much it hurts that he remembers.
“Okay, good,” he says.
A silence stretches between you and you rock back and forth on your feet. “Um, can I bring anything? Dessert or a side or something?”
He smiles for real this time and chokes out a laugh. “How about that crumb cake you used to bring to all the dinners? Remember when Happy ate almost the entire thing and then pretended he hadn’t?”
“Like the crumbs weren’t all over his mouth and his suit,” you finish the story, chuckling. Back when things were simple. “I can whip one up, don’t worry.”
“Excellent. Well, I guess I’ll see you tonight then?” He says and you purse your lips in an attempt to smile. Did you forget how?
“Yeah, thanks,” you confirm and he dips his head before making some excuse about why he has to leave. You lead him to the door and then close it after him, exhaling for a long time.
A random person being killed might not get the attention of Agatha and Rio. But the director of an FBI branch?
That would most likely do the trick.
Now you just need a few more things. It can’t just be a sloppy kill, you need it to be direct, exact. You need it to be so much like their murders, need it to look like The Witch and Lady Death followed you back down to Miami, that they know with one-hundred percent certainty that it was you.
You have the drug. You have a knife that can be used to cut through his flesh. You have some bleach, but you don’t have the hydrofluoric acid for clean-up or a purple azalea.
It will be tough, probably impossible, to get the acid so you drop that. Even if it appears to be a copycat killer, the result will still hopefully be the same.
Or they won’t come and you’ll get arrested.
It’s a risk you’re willing to take.
You go to the grocery store to pick up the things you need for the crumb cake and then stop by a florist to get the flowers. It’s a smaller one, a little further out of town with no cameras, so it will be harder to track down whoever bought the flowers soon to be at a crime scene. When you order a bouquet of purple azaleas, the older lady at the register coos.
“Aw, honey, whoever you’re getting these for must really be a special someone. These are beautiful flowers,” she tells you and you smile wistfully despite yourself.
“Yes, they are,” you agree, talking more about the people being special than the flowers being beautiful, but both are true. The sickly sweet honeysuckle scent has become a pleasant smell to you, whereas before, it made you want to throw up.
She hands the bouquet over to you and you pay in cash. Then you drive back to your house, put the flowers in a vase, and bake the cake.
An hour later, when it’s ready, you take out the vial and douse the top with it. You shouldn’t feel a thrill, shouldn’t feel a burst of adrenaline run through you, but this is the most alive you’ve felt in a month.
You put on a dress, black for the occasion, and do your hair and makeup. It feels like you’re on a death march, walking toward something inevitable that will either make or break you. If it doesn’t work, if it doesn’t bring them back to you, you’re not sure what you’re going to do.
Spend the rest of your life on the run? Rot in prison? Or –
No. You’re not going to think about that, not even going to count that as an option. It’s going to work. It has to.
And then it’s time to go. You wrap up the cake, put a blazer over your dress and slip the knife and a single flower into the pockets, grab cleaning supplies, and get in your car. You’ve been to Tony’s house a few times for FBI Christmas parties and the occasional dinner with Tony, his wife, and a few other colleagues, but you still remember which way to go. It’s complete muscle memory, you don’t even realize that you’re driving until you get there.
Your heart rattles against your ribcage, but not from nerves. It’s from excitement.
God, you’re really fucked in the head, aren’t you? You tell yourself that it’s not because you’re about to kill him, it’s because you’re going to see them soon.
It doesn’t take long for Tony to open the door after you ring the doorbell and your breath is already coming out short and shallow so you have to slow it before he suspects something.
“The cake,” you say, presenting it to him and he rubs his hand together before taking the pan from you. He leads you into the kitchen where you smell the pasta he’s been cooking. It makes your mouth water and for the first time in a month, you actually want to eat.
The dinner is nice; pleasant conversation, good food and wine. He catches you up on some cases the FBI is working on, but there’s no hostility in his voice. You laugh and smile and do whatever is appropriate, just killing time until the main event. You haven’t been able to stop thinking about them, about Agatha and Rio, and your fingers twitch against your leg in anticipation.
Tony goes and gets the cake and your breath stutters in your throat when he unwraps it. “Do you want a piece?” He asks, cutting himself a big one.
“No, I’m pretty full,” you say and he shrugs, accepting it without a fight. You watch him with wide eyes as he takes his first bite and you swallow hard when he goes back for more.
“Mm, this is so good,” he moans with his mouth full and you can’t help but wonder how long the drug takes to work.
You don’t have to wonder much longer, because after the fourth bite, he coughs. You can’t breathe when he sets his fork down and reaches up to loosen his tie. There’s a change on his face and it absolutely delights you.
He slides his chair back and you jump up.
“Is there something in this?” He asks, but he sounds weak, tense. You walk around the table as Tony slides forward out of the chair and onto his knees. You bend down and tilt his chin up with your fingers. He’s struggling to hang on, little gasps slipping out of his mouth, but your eyes gleam as you take in the sight.
The skin on his face tightens, shrivels, and dark lines etch into his face as his cheeks start to hollow out. You’ve got to give it to Agatha, she knows her way around chemicals.
It’s only another minute or two and his body goes limp and slips down to the floor. The heat inside you is back, the ache floods through you, and more than anything, you wish they were there to take care of you.
They will be soon.
You just have to follow through on the rest of it.
Standing up, you stretch your back just a little and then bend back over and grab onto his feet. You’re stronger than you look, but it still takes a good amount of effort to drag him into the living room. Agatha and Rio didn’t seem to stage their crime scenes per se, but no body was ever found in the kitchen, always on the floor of the living room.
You straddle his body, unbutton his shirt, and pull the knife out from your pocket. Taking a deep breath, you hold it over where his heart is, grip the handle with both hands, and plunge.
It goes in easy. Blood oozes out, but honestly, not as much as you thought. You remember reading that once the heart stops, the body doesn’t bleed as much, but since he just died and you’re cutting near the heart, there might be a little.
That must be why Agatha and Rio had a relatively easy clean-up.
You grunt with the exertion, dragging the knife in a circle. It’s harder than it seems to break through the bones of the ribcage, but you’re finally able to reach in and grab it.
Pulling the heart out makes power rush through you and you squeeze it just to know what it feels like. It’s squishy almost, and more blood spurts out.
And then you grimace. What are you supposed to do with it? You could leave it, but then you risk your DNA being found. You could take it with you, but you have no need for a heart.
An idea crosses your mind and while it’s not a great one, it will definitely take care of the problem. You take it back into the kitchen, stuff it into the drain, and put a plastic container over it before turning on the garbage disposal. You have to hold the container with two hands so it doesn't fly off from the sheer force of the disposal destroying the heart.
When you finally stop hearing resistance, you wash the container better than you’ve ever cleaned something before, making sure to get rid of any trace of chunks of heart and blood.
And then you run out to your car to grab the bleach, gloves, and sponges from your car and get to work, scrubbing the floor until there’s nothing left. And then you put the purple flower into the gaping wound of his chest and you’re gone.
When you get back to your house, you call the police and leave an anonymous tip about the sound of a struggle coming from Tony’s address, too impatient to wait for Pepper to come home and find him.
And then you bide your time.
A day passes. You turn on the news to see a special report about the director of the Miami FBI branch being murdered in his own home by seemingly the same killer as one from New Jersey.
Two days. There’s a nationwide manhunt for the killers. You wonder if you’ve made it even more unsafe for them to come get you.
Or maybe they’re just not coming.
Three days.
You’re back on the couch, in a cocoon of blankets, coming to terms that maybe you’re just never going to see them again. You wear the clothes they got you, anything to make you feel like they’re still in your life, and spray their perfume over you and over the blankets and over the pillows until your entire house smells like Thanatos.
On the fourth day, you decide that you need to eat something or you’re going to wither away right there. You trudge your way into the kitchen slowly, a quilt wrapped around your shoulders, and you’re opening the fridge when you hear something.
Your door is opening.
Forcing yourself to calm down, you grab leftover chicken alfredo you took from Tony’s house and turn around. The container slips from your hand when you find Rio and Agatha standing there on the other side of your island.
“Hi,” you breathe, feeling like you could cry tears of relief.
Rio takes out a knife, twirls it between her fingers, and stalks over to you. You step back against the refrigerator and she presses the blade to the center of your clavicle and you should be scared.
But then she leans in and sniffs up your neck like Agatha did in the evidence locker that day and you’re just excited.
The older woman’s eyes watch the two of you carefully and you meet her gaze, seeing the heat in them.
The knife digs into you, piercing your skin, and you can feel blood dripping down. Rio’s eyes dart down and her hazel eyes are dark when they flick back to yours.
“Hey, doll,” she says, voice husky. “We saw your little stunt.”
A smirk pulls at the corners of your lips. “Did you like it?”
Agatha walks over, trailing her fingers on the surface of the island. She invades your space and swipes up the blood from your chest and holds her finger up to your mouth. “We sure did, superstar,” she says and you envelope her finger with your lips, sucking your blood off it.
And then Rio sticks the knife into the waistband of her pants and draws you in for a hot kiss. She moans when she tastes the metallic flavor on your tongue and grips your waist to pull you in even closer to her.
Agatha yanks on your hair, dragging you away from Rio’s mouth with a strand of saliva and then her lips are on your swollen ones, tugging and biting your bottom lip.
While her tongue slides into your mouth, Rio kisses down your neck and over the slight puncture from her knife, soothing the sting.
“I didn’t think you guys would come,” you confess against Agatha.
Rio bites down on your collarbone and it makes you hiss. “We just wanted to make sure you actually wanted this,” she says hotly. Your chest flushes and she takes out the knife again and swiftly cuts through the silky fabric of your shirt.
“I do,” you say, pleading for them to believe you, pouring all the emotions you’ve felt the past month at the thought of losing them into your tone. Rio kisses down your breasts, nipping at you through your bra and it makes you gasp.
Agatha pulls away from you and steps behind Rio, moving her hair and pressing her mouth to the younger woman’s neck. “Poor Rio was so upset to think you would betray us like that,” she purrs and Rio nods, pouting mockingly. “I think you better make it up to her first, show her how much you want this.”
The double meaning is clear and you are only too eager. You flip her around so her back is against the fridge, maybe a little more rougher than you need to be, and sink to your knees in front of her.
You fumble with the waistband of her pants and she tips your chin up with her knife, reminding you of the night she did that with her gun.
“Do a good job and we’ll reward you,” she says.
Your hands finally drag her pants and underwear down and you smirk. “Ask your wife if she thinks I did a good job last time,” you retort and Agatha chuckles darkly from behind you and grips your hair before shoving your face into Rio’s dripping pussy.
Rio gasps and Agatha holds you in place while you flatten your tongue and drag it through Rio’s folds. Her hips jerk on your face and you look up through your eyelashes to watch Agatha kiss her wife.
Her scent invades your nose and her flavor fills your tastebuds and you moan, losing yourself in her. You lick around her clit until she’s practically shaking and she has to wrap an arm around Agatha’s shoulders to stay balanced.
When you finally give in and suck on her clit, Rio keens and you can feel her growing even wetter on your chin. You see Agatha grip Rio’s throat and the sight makes you groan from how hot it is. You can hear Rio’s messy breathing as she starts to rut her hips against your face and you pick up the intensity, lapping harder at her cunt.
Your jaw starts to hurt but you don’t dare stop because when you dip your tongue inside and curl it up, licking up against her walls, she clenches and the prettiest sounds you’ve ever heard fall out of her mouth.
“I’m close,” she pants and Agatha, still sliding her lips against her wife’s, reaches down to rub Rio’s clit, her finger bumping against your nose while you keep thrusting your tongue inside Rio.
Rio’s getting tighter around you and her breaths are more constricted until she finally lets out a loud moan and her whole body jerks and her walls clamp around your tongue as she rides out her orgasm.
Agatha steps back so you’re able to rest back on your heels and you smile up blissfully at them, the entire bottom of your face soaked.
“Did I do a good job?” You simper and Rio’s hand grips into your hair and pulls you up. It stings but it only makes you more turned on.
Rio cleans your face with her mouth, taking extra care to suck on your lips. She nips and you breathe out sharply. “You did acceptable,” she says haughtily and you grin.
“Let’s go, superstar,” Agatha says, leaning in to kiss you and then Rio, wanting to taste her wife. “Where’s your bedroom?”
You point down the hall and you follow them to it. You can feel the pool between your legs and each step puts the tiniest bit of pressure on your clit, making you squirm while you walk.
“Please,” you whisper. They seemingly ignore you and tell you to sit on your bed while they root through your room, maybe looking for a wire or a camera or something.
But then Rio chuckles when she opens your nightstand drawer and you know what she’s found. “Look, Aggie,” she says, holding up some of your sex toys that you keep in there. It’s been far too long since you’ve used any of them and you clench involuntarily around nothing.
Agatha walks over and pulls out a harness and a dildo and shows them to you. “Do you want me to fuck you with this, pet?” She asks and you nod eagerly, practically drooling.
“Agatha,” Rio says in a hush, holding up another toy, a small egg vibrator and a remote. When she thumbs at the dial on the side, it turns on in her hand. “Wear this so I can control it while you’re fucking her?”
You let out a filthy moan at the question and the older women laugh. “Seems like we got our answer,” Agatha says, making quick work of pants and underwear. You shrug off the tatters of your cut shirt and quickly take yours off too, the cold air on your sopping pussy making you shiver.
Rio kneels down and kisses Agatha’s thighs and then mouths at Agatha’s cunt for a few seconds, before sliding the toy into her. Agatha lets out a small groan and your jaw drops open. You might cum the second you feel her skin on you.
The electricity is back, for the first time in forever, and it races under your skin, lighting your entire body up. You’re hungry, so hungry for more, and Agatha steps into the harness and Rio helps her fasten the dildo into it.
Agatha climbs onto the bed and you scramble back to lay against the pillows, legs propping up and spreading.
“So eager,” Agatha tuts, positioning herself and rubbing the dildo against your entrance, coating the toy with your wetness. She drags it up and down and presses against your clit until you’re sweating under her, your hands coming up to hold onto her hips.
She pushes the tip into you and your walls bear down around it, clenching and trying to drag it in. Agatha chuckles at your desperate state, but it quickly turns into a moan when Rio turns the dial on the control and she jerks forward violently, pushing the toy all the way inside you in one motion.
Your head drops back and your back arches, forcing your hips up even more so you can somehow feel her deeper. “Fuck,” you curse, the fullness exactly what you need to satiate the ache inside you.
Agatha takes a deep breath, fingers digging in tightly to the bed next to you, when Rio turns up the vibrations.
“Pet,” Agatha says in a low voice, slowly starting to shallowly thrust inside you like it would hurt her to pull out more. You sharply inhale when she curves into the spongy spot each time and your heart is beating so fast you think it might explode. It feels so good already that tears are pricking in your eyes and Agatha leans down to capture your lips as she picks up the speed.
The vibrations from the toy inside her are so strong that it’s affecting the dildo inside you and you’re reduced to a moaning mess. You tilt your head and through your hazy vision and the fog settling in your head, you can see Rio with a hand between her legs, watching you get fucked by her wife.
“I wanted you guys to come back so badly,” you practically sob, hips rising to meet each one of her thrusts, each motion of the cock in and out of your body rubbing against your clit and making you gasp.
Agatha chuckles breathlessly above you, the exertion causing a slight sheen of sweat to perspire on her forehead. Her cheeks are red and she tosses her hair over her shoulder so she can see you better. She’s biting on her red lip as she takes you in. “We know, superstar. We missed you, too. But we’re never letting you go now.”
“Good,” you say and you pull her down for a kiss. Her thrusts are getting sloppy now, losing rhythm and her hips stuttering, but you don’t care because you’re already so close.
And so is she, by the looks of it. Her cock fills you perfectly, and you can feel the veins on the toy dragging against your walls, and she’s panting into your open mouth, both of you exchanging hot air between the two of you. Your senses are heightened, on fire even, and you’re on the edge, tingles, fireworks, spreading through your body. You’ve never felt this alive in your life and you crave more before you’re even done right now.
And then she puts a hand around your throat and it’s like all the air from your lungs dissipates. She squeezes lightly and you moan explicitly, feeling like a livewire is running through you.
“Agatha,” you whine.
She huffs and somehow speeds up, and she lets out broken whimpers when Rio turns the vibrator up even more. “Cum for me, pet, cum with me,” she says and presses on your throat to constrict your airway ever the slightest and you do.
You slur incoherent words while you orgasm, the dam inside you breaking and pleasure floods through you like nothing you’ve ever felt before. Agatha slumps on top of you, her hips convulsing inside you involuntarily as she rides out hers too.
She lays there for a minute or two, your walls twitching around her. And then she pulls out and flops on the bed next to you. Rio comes over and gingerly takes the strap-on off Agatha and pulls the toy out of her.
“You both okay?” Rio jokes and you both nod, thoroughly worn out.
“What now?” You ask and the two of them look at each other. You cannot survive them walking away from you again.
Agatha props herself up on an elbow and brushes a sweaty hair off your forehead. “What do you want, superstar?”
“You two.”
Rio chuckles. “Good, because if you didn’t say that, we brought gasoline and we were going to set your house on fire.”
You gape at her and look back and forth between Agatha and Rio. “For real?” They both nod solemnly, although you can see Agatha trying not to smile. The wheels in your head turn. A fire started this whole thing, fifteen years ago. Maybe it makes sense that fire is what ends it. “Do it,” you tell them.
“Excuse me?” Rio says, clearly taken aback.
“Set my house on fire, make it look like I’m dead. I have the azaleas downstairs, we can scatter them outside and make it look like The Witch and Lady Death killed me. My death is faked and we go off the grid. It makes sense. You guys followed me from New Jersey, took out my boss, and now you took me out, too. The last two connections to your case.”
It’s a good plan, even they have to admit it.
So Agatha goes and gets the gas while you pack up a small bag of things. You leave Rio’s knife and the empty vial from the drug in the living room so it looks like The Witch and Lady Death burned in the fire too.
You douse the kitchen and trail it to the front door so you have an easy escape. Rio hands you the matchbox, and it makes the same sound it made when you strike the match on it as the last time. You take a deep breath, look at them, and they nod.
You flick it and a brilliant blaze of fire erupts, quickly spreading through the whole house.
And you don’t even look back on your way to their car, the three of you sliding into it.
Agatha pulls out of the driveway and you smile to yourself.
You don’t know where you’re going or what will happen, but you’re with them now, so everything is going to be okay.

Half asleep past midnight ramblings because I saw a pirate AU mentioned and I know you like Jade so like
Yuu drops stuff off the edge of a ship and into the ocean by accident - maybe some kinda mushroom-shaped pendant idk. And jade ends up catching it and misinterpreted the exchange as a courting gesture somehow. And now Yuu keeps on getting dragged out to deck by the rest of the crew because this bigass mer with bigass teeth keeps jumping aboard and snarling at anyone who approaches him except for Yuu for some reason
And Yuu just keeps having to drop what they're doing to nudge what seems, to them, like quite a placid merman off the deck and back into the ocean, wondering why they specifically have to do that and not believing the rest of the crew when they describe Jade as 'A hissing monstrosity that tried to take a chunk outta my arm!' etc. etc.
Anyway they have a collection of random ocean trinkets that Jade keeps giving them or something. And also Jade saves them from drowning. Floyd follows Jade to the surface once and then there's an issue with TWO mermen tryna hang out on deck but only tolerating two specific crew members and one is the angry redhead who ends up looking super amusing trying to drag a slippery, troublesome eel to the edge of the boat so he can get back to whatever he should be doing
Sorry about the rambling - and sorry if it isn't coherent. My brain needs something to do since I can't get to sleep rn lol.
I don't know a whole lot about pirates other than what I know from my video game...but from I am aware! They spend at least weeks if not months out at sea! I like to think that it takes Jade sometime to watch and actually fall for someone, while Floyd is the one more prone to love at first sight fight
When you guys are around at sea, slowly making your way to the next port, you're not super surprised you've been followed by a pair of merfolk.
They're known to be curious, but unless they're sirens, they're likely to keep to themselves.
But these two have been following the ship for quite some time now, like they're after something specific.
They're practically identical, just a few things like their gray strands of hair and their bi-colored eyes that help with differentiating them. The more excitable of the two seems to be most invested in chasing after your boat.
You can't understand the clicks, chirps, or squeals he makes, but you do notice how excited he gets when your friend Riddle, a crewmate who ran off from home, is on the deck. Riddle seems annoyed and will often yell at the merman, telling him to go away and stop following.
Though the big guy just looks so happy to see Riddle that you think he isn't able to understand human speech. If you had to guess, you think he was following after Riddle. Not sure why though.
You almost forget about the other one, with how quiet he is. You encounter him after dropping a cute little mushroom pendant that you got from a port shop a while back. The moment it plopped into the dark water in the dead of night, you were absolutely devastated. You even took some spare rope and wrapped it around your waist in a tight knot before scaling the side of the ship to carefully make it down to the water.
Hoping and praying to whatever sea god lorded over the current waters you were in that the water was shallow and pendant not lost to the deep, you failed to notice the soft teal aquamarine glow emerging from the water.
When you finally do turn to look at the water, you just about screamed at the upper hand of one of the mermen's face staring at you. Pressing yourself against the wooden hull of the ship, you stared back at him, not even daring to blink, as if he would suddenly lunge at you if you looked away.
Not an unwarranted fear; you and the rest of the crew had seen the way those sharp teeth and claws torn apart large tuna and annoying seagulls.
You think this is the more quiet of the two, based on the lack of reaction and the strand on his left. He seems more quizzical than playful, compared to whom you think is his brother. His eyes flicker down to watch the way your chest moves up and down as you try to calm your breath. He stares for a bit before flickering back up to your eyes, where he resumes his chilling stare.
What felt like hours, but was probably minutes, passed as you two played what was essentially a staring contest. Eventually, made due to boredom, or maybe he was satisfied after studying you so long, his right hand came up from the water clenching something. He gently opened his hand to reveal the golden mushroom pendant, complete with your gold chain and everything.
"Oh! You got it, uh, can I have it back?" You asked, pointing at the item in his hand.
The merman slowly rose up the lower part of his face and upper chest now visible. Looking at him up close, you could understand why they cautioned sailors to keep their distance from all sea folk.
Such pretty faces, it's no wonder people willingly drown themselves just in an attempt to be with one.
The teal colored merman watched as you carefully reached for the item in his hand, only to jerk it away and make a laughing sound. You think it was laughter, based on the smirk and squinted eyes he gave you. You huffed, reaching for it again, only for him to swam back again. His laughter was growing louder, seems that he was just as mischievous as his brother, just sneakier about it.
It almost sounded musical to your ears, too bad you were too focused on getting the pendant back to admire it. Eventually, the creature was far enough out of your reach that you were barely touching the ship with the tip of your toes. It seemed like he wanted you to fall into the water as he playfully splashed at you with the tip of his tail. You knew he was playing, if he really wanted you in the water, that tail had more than enough strength to wrap around you and drag you in.
But still, you wanted that damn pendant back! He seemed fascinated by the mushroom itself and the detailing on it. His claws kept tracing over the ridges and he was studying it intently when he wasn't staring at you. He's probably never seen one before. That's when a brilliant idea popped into your head!
Gesturing him to wait, you climbed back up the rope, turning back every time to check and see that he was still there. The big guy seemed a bit annoyed, disappointed even, that you were leaving. No matter, you'd be back soon enough with a bargaining chip.
It takes a moment for you to finally make your way back up, huffing and your arms straining from pulling your self up. Riddle, bless his heart, had rushed out after hearing your scream earlier and was pacing around the deck waiting for you to return.
"There you are! I saw you with one of the mermen, did you get hurt? Do you need medical attention? Come to the infirmary, I'll check you up—"
You waved him off, struggling to undo your knot, blurting out something about you being fine and needing to trade. Finally managing to stumble into the sleeping quarters and to your cot, digging against your blanket and bags to finally find a small pouch.
Smiling at your victory, you ran back up to the deck to find Riddle struggling with the rope and one of the mermen. You're pretty sure it's the other one: his strand is on his right side and he's a lot more vocal as he tried climbing up the side of the ship using the rope and digging his claws in the hull.
Poor Riddle was struggling to get the merman's arms off of his, the latter's grasp tightening the more he struggled to get out.
"Damn it Floyd! I told you! Leave!" A kick. "Me!" An inhumane yelp. "ALONE!"
The merman looked almost disappointed as Riddle finally managed to kick him in the face and crawl away from his grasp.
Riddle was heaving as he glared at the pouting merman, watching as he finally lost his claw grip in the wood and slid back into the water with a loud splash. You helped your friend up, checking him over for any stratches or bite marks.
"So it is you that they're following! I'd been wondering way they were so focused on our ship, but how do you know his name?"
Riddle sighed, nodding his head. "I apologize. I was hoping that he wouldn't remember me from our childhood, it's been so long, but..."
He dragged his hands over his face in exasperation. "He has a perfect memory when he wants to. He used to visit the reefs near my hometown, I ended up meeting him there when I was younger. He was so annoying! Liked to poke and prod at me anytime I visited the beach, I thought I finally managed to get rid of him when I left home, but it seems that he's found me."
"How can you understand them?"
"Ah, they can speak and understand common tongue. They just choose to feign ignorance." Riddle muttered to himself as he slipped off his now soaking jacket.
You watched your friend as he wrung out the water in his clothes from who you now know is Floyd. Pursing your lips, you looked toward the rope, now splayed across the deck, and move toward it.
"Do you know the other one's name?" you asked, tying the rope back to your waist.
"Hmm? His twin? I think it's Jade, why do you want to—what are you doing?"
Riddle suddenly stood watching in horror as you slipped over the ledge of the ship once again.
"He's got my pendant, gonna get it back—"
"No! You going down there is how Floyd got up, get back here!" Riddle marched over, stomping his foot and reaching for you just as you jumped. "I'll get you another, one with rubies in it—HEY!"
Using the momentum from the fall, you planted your feet against the hull as you landed against it, looking down at the water again. This time, both mermen were watching you as you climbed down, though the one you though was Floyd looked upset and bored, swimming up to the hull to make small crying noises to Riddle, you assumed.
As you got closer, the one called Jade came closer, apparently interested that you returned. Once you were finally within each other's reach again, you gestureed for him to come closer.
By this point, his brother was behind him watching curiously as you held up the pouch in your hand, opening it and revealing a white button mushroom.
Jade perked up, looking between your pendant and the mushroom in your hand. You pointed at the pendant in his hand, before remembering what Riddle said.
"Oh yeah, he said you could understand me." Jade didn't betray that he understood you, though his ear fins twitched as you spoke.
"Uh, if you give me that—" you still pointed to the pendant, just incase he was wrong. Though Riddle rarely was. "—then I will give you this!" You pointed back to the white mushroom in your hand.
Jade looked excitedly at the mushroom, nodding as you two traded. Sighing in relief, you pulled the chain over your neck and tucked it into your shirt. You readied to climb back up to the ship again before glancing at Jade.
He was poking at the mushroom, turning it round in his fingers. He seemed almost childlike in his wonder with the fungus, it was almost cute. Right up until he tore it in half and dropped it into the water, watching it float.
"What, no!" You whined, startling him as you gestured between him and the mushroom.
"No! No, no, no! That's a waste of a perfectly good mushroom! Do you know how hard it is to get those at ports? You're supposed to eat it!"
Exasperated, you opened your pouch again and handed another to Jade, though this time he eyed your hand warily.
"...What? Do you think I'm gonna posion you? Look—" You tore it in half, like he did earlier, and popped one half into your mouth. "Shee? Yummy!"
He still looked doubtful as you chewed. Rolling your eyes, you extended your arm out to his face, making him jerk away again.
"Just, try it! Come on!" You pushed against the hull again, on your tiptoes, as you held out the mushroom towards his lips.
"I'll even feed it to ya! Say 'aaaah'."
Jade looked at your open mouth and, you swear on your soul, blushed before looking away. He thinned his lips, eyes flickering back at you again with an almost shy expression. Floyd, in the background, was staring curiously, before making a chirping sound. Jade made a similar sound back, before looking at you between his lashes and bashfully taking the mushroom from your fingertips.
You tried not to jump from his teeth scraping you and his cold lips brushing against your skin. Instead, you stilled yourself, holding your breath as he chewed.
"It's good, right?"
Jade paused swallowing and slowly nodding before opening his mouth.
"Yes, it's quite...nice." You were surprised how smooth and human his voice was. It as almost soft, a stark difference from his sharp ends and edges. Pleasant.
You shook your thoughts from your head. You refused to be one of those lovesick sailors.
"Right...well, thanks! I'll be, uh, heading back now."
You actively chose to not look back as you climbed up, though perhaps you should have. You could have seen the way Jade watched you, like your were Aphrodite emerging from the sea foam to the land.
"What I tell ya Jade?" Jade continued watching you climb up, eyeing the way Riddle dragged you to the boat, though he flicked his ear fin towards Floyd. "I told you that the lil shrimp was just your type!"
Floyd giggled as he swam on his back, circling his brother. He paused to listen to the way Riddle was yelling at you. So cute.
"Aren't you glad you joined me? I get my Goldfishie, and you'll get a little Shrimpy out of it! Mama and Pops will be so happy when we bring them back home!
"Yes...we'll have to do it soon though." Jade smiled as he watched you and Riddle peer over the edge. You waved at him, and he back at you. His smile grew as you excitedly waved even harder speaking to Riddle before your friend dragged you away.
"The farther we get, the less time we have to return to Azul. His water-breathing spell will only last so long."
"And whose fault is that?" Floyd scoffed, flicking water at his brother in annoyance. "I wanted to take my mate and his friend since day one, you're the one who wanted to 'study' them and stuff. I know you best, if I tell you that the shrimp is perfect for you, you oughta listen!"
Jade glared at Floyd, who stuck his tongue at him, before softly laughing.
"You're right Floyd, of course you know me so well." Jade stared back up at the ship, as if his gaze alone would beckon you to return to him. "The water's warm, there's a storm coming from the east, where they've been traveling."
Jade dove into the water, his brother following him.
"The storm is large and coming soon, and the wood over here is damaged." Jade gestured to a part of the hull that was starting to rot, water slipping in. "If we cause the ship to take in more water, it will sink. They only have a few of those smaller boats, and much too many crew."
Floyd grinned as he caught on to what his brother was implying.
"Everyone will probably be scrambling to get on them boats—"
"Precisely, and with the chaos of a storm, will be much too busy to notice two of their crewmates snatched by a pair of mermen."
The twins shared a conniving laugh, following the ship into an unseen storm in the dark of night.
Something that few people ever mentioned, as it was quite rare, was that once a merperson fell for someone, they also were determined to drag them into the deep, never to be seen again by the people of the surface.

Imagine...Discovering Soldier Boy's Secret
Pairing: Soldier Boy x reader
Warnings: language
_______
You were exhausted when you finally got home. Work had been long and stressful. On top of that, you’d needed to hit the grocery store afterwords since you were down to basics. You were so flippin’ tired though that the second you had everything put away, you pulled out your phone and ordered a pizza with some sides.
You had a good thirty minutes before it’d arrive and you figured you’d put on something relaxing, maybe find where Ben was. His car was in the driveway and all his shoes were by the door so he was around there somewhere.
Five minutes later you were in a pair of joggers, a bralette and one of Ben’s black t-shirts. The man only wore black, gray or navy blue shirts and jeans when he wasn’t in his uniform. You couldn’t blame the guy too much for not caring about fashion but you were hoping someday he might spice things up with a little color.
While in the bedroom, you noticed the bathroom door was shut which was strange. You always left it open unless someone was taking a shower. But you didn’t hear anything going inside.
“Ben are-” you said, pausing halfway with the door open. Welp, you’d found where he was.
Which was apparently sitting in your large soaker tub with a mountain of bubbles surrounding him.
He was taking a goddamn bubble bath. Your Ben. Your Soldier Boy. Your favorite arrogant asshole.
He seemed stuck, eyes a few fractions too wide, unblinking as you stared back at him, the scent of lavender and vanilla filling the room.
“Are-” You stared when he shot his hand up out of the water, pointing it at you like you you’d just run over his puppy.
“Not. A. Word.” You knew better than to aggravate him, at least right now. You slowly closed the door and went downstairs, throwing on a home renovation show. Ben didn’t appear until after the food came, decked out in a pair of flannel pajama pants and a red t-shirt. Okay, it was more maroon than anything but still. You’d bought it for him six months ago and hung it next to the other dozen colorful shirts you wondered if he’d ever wear.
You stared at him, Ben ignoring you as he slapped three slices on a plate, plopped down on the couch and started to devour his dinner.
You flipped open the food on the coffee table, filling up your own plate, giving him another look, his own fixated on the screen playing before you.
“Stop staring at me,” he growled. You sunk back into the cushions, eating a few fries before you couldn’t help it.
“So.”
“Y/N…”
“Bubble baths.” He audibly growled, giving you a stern look to drop it. “You know, John Wayne took bubble baths.”
Ben was silent, angrily ripping off his crust with a large bite.
“Even if he didn’t, I think it’s nice.” Ben looked ready to bolt away to avoid this conversation but somehow he forced himself to stay seated. “Listen. I know this is going to sound stupid but it makes me feel good knowing you do something for yourself when I’m not around. It makes me feel like maybe you listen to me about the whole you’re deserving of nice things even though you’re a guy.”
Ben’s chewing was less infused with anger, all you’d get out of him that he was actually practicing a bit of self-care.
“Want a beer?” you said, standing up. He grunted as you walked around the couch, ruffling his damp hair. “You look handsome in that color.”
The corner of his lip ticked up for a split second but you caught it. He was happy, at ease and that was more than enough for you.

Thank you to @pr0ximamidnight for letting me scream about this & to @the-wild-wolves-around-you for always being the best support - and to you, if you’re reading this, thank you so much ♡
The sun hangs low against the sky, painting the world in a soft orange creamsicle shade. Sliding your shoes off, you sink into the soft sand and walk the shoreline.
You love your aunt and uncle dearly. But having such a large get together at their house to meet the neighbors and their friends just got too much. It’s why you politely excused yourself and ended up here.
The crash of the waves, the peaceful quiet of the thankfully vacant beach, it all settles you while you walk aimlessly getting lost in your thoughts.
Until a sharp deep growl pierces the air.
The noise sounds close, electrifies your skin, and makes you stop. That’s when you notice trickles of blood in the water.
Petrified your eyes follow the trails.
Then you come across a sight you can’t believe.
By the long stretch of rocks leading out from the shore into the sea, a man sits half up on the rocks.
Older, distinguished in the wrinkles around his face and beautiful grays in his curled hair, his skin however seems drained of color. There’s also a huge gash against his side as if he was impaled.
Even though he’s partially out of the water, you notice, the skin at his hips don’t lead to legs. Your eyes go wide.
Another snarl of a growl comes and you realize it’s this man. His face fiercely stares you down in menacing terror.
“You’re hurt!” You blurt out.
“Get the fuck outta here!” He howls, even has an accent of someone from this area.
“You’re bleeding out too fast!” You don’t even know medical conditions that well to know this isn’t good.
On your walk here you noticed a few beach towels left vacant on the shore.
You immediately turn around and bolt.
The man screams out a curse, yelling at you to stop, but you don’t. Thankfully you don’t have to search too far down the beach to spot one of the forgotten towels. Quickly grabbing it you then rush back.
The strange man is still on the rocks, but it’s obvious he tried sliding down them in an escape. However it opened his wound up more.
“Wait!” Now you cry out. “I know this isn’t much but this can stop the bleeding for now!”
You offer weakly that you could maybe try to get medical attention, but even weary his eyes go wide, and he snaps out a fast sharp no.
“Then you need to wrap this around the wound or press into it.” You offer the towel.
“Y’don’t think I know how to handle this, ya dumb human?” He snarls.
Human. So he isn’t human like you suspected.
“Your wound is getting worse.” You urge now, promising you won’t get others but have supplies that can help.
“Do what ya fuckin’ want.” He snarls.
Gingerly, you place the towel down on a rock then scramble out of the water and head back to your family’s beach home. Thankfully everyone has moved upstairs, allowing you to sneak in, grab a first aid kit, then leave.
You just hope the man hasn’t left or gotten worse.
The sky grows dimmer. The sun almost vanishes beyond the horizon. And thankfully, the man is still on the rocks.
Yet his eyes flutter in and out of consciousness.
Keeping the first aid kit as dry as you can above the waves, you rush into the water towards him.
He’s barely awake, might not even fully notice you’re beside him now. But quickly you unpack things fast on the nearby rocks and tend to the wound as best as you can. The man hisses a half growl at the padding you place to stop the bleeding. Then you use an embracing amount of large bandages over the wound.
The bleeding doesn’t seep through the wraps and it’s enough for now. You’re afraid of leaving him here, but you’re more worried about moving him. So taking the towel you grabbed, you delicately drape it over his body, keeping his face open.
He seems human enough from his upper body. This mystery man is also handsome, scarily so. But the sky is getting dark, and you need to get home. Gathering your things you return to the beach house.
“Hey, where’d ya go?! And what’s with the first aid kit?” Your mom says a bit surprised.
You explain with a half lie that you went walking on the beach and helped a guy who got cut.
“Well look at you! What a hero.” She grins warm and her words feel soft.
That night you barely get any sleep and think of the man on the rocks. Earlier, when you were panicking trying to tend to his wound, you didn’t have time to fully look into the ocean at his lower body. But you caught a glimpse.
You saw a partial marine like body, a sea creature like tail even among the cloud ocean water.
A merman, you had possibly helped a merman.
Now you just hope he makes it through the night.
Scrambling awake the next morning, you make an excuse of wanting to enjoy the beach bright and early, and head to the rocks.
Of course he’s gone.
You almost knew he wouldn’t be here. A piece of you did hope, faintly hoped, he would be. Even the towel is gone.
Out in the ocean a loud splash, like someone slapping against the water, arrives.
There floating in the waves, only seen from the chest up, is the mystery man. He’s okay. He’s here. He’s alive.
“You’re alright.” You exhale relieved.
This man glares at you fiercely. It highlights his weathered wrinkles but also intensifies his handsome features. There’s an intimidating and hardened nature radiating off this gorgeous creature.
“Why did ya save me?” He flat out asks, and you’re stunned.
That’s what he came here to ask you about?
Your face even scrunches up slightly confused, but you tell him the truth.
He was hurt. You had to try and do something.
The answer does soften his features. If anything his eyebrows furrow harder.
“Y’fuckin’ tell anyone about me?”
For possibly being a mythical being, this man does speak very human. You shake your head no, promising you didn’t and won’t ever tell anyone.
He scoffs, distrusting.
With sharp narrowed eyes, he gives you one final look before slipping back into the water.
You sit on the shoreline for what feels like hours, but he doesn’t return.
A bit dejected and quiet, you head home.
Later, trying to get your mind off everything, you decide to enjoy the time you’re here and head into the water.
The wind provides a nice breeze, and the sea swirls around you. Slowly you trek deeper into the ocean letting the water rise. Eventually you comfortably float and glance back towards the shoreline. Your mom lounges in her lawn chair with the recent book she just bought. The sky, beautifully soft this morning, now seems dimmer with all the clouds moving in.
A wave crashes over you from behind.
Powerful and large it drags you under. You were so focused on watching the beach you didn’t even see it coming.
Now you’re under the water, caught beneath the sea.
The saltwater stings your eyes as you try swimming against the current. But you’re a bit disoriented and even trying to just float back to the surface seems harder.
Suddenly warm solid hands are on your hips pulling you up. You’re guided up to the surface. Sweet air fills you and you cough through the stinging in your lungs. You’re kept above the water, held up.
You whip around trying to see who helped you, but there’s no one around.
Someone screams your name frantically. Your mom and your aunt on the edge of the water shout for you.
Weary from the waves you slowly swim, practically float, back to shore before your family scrambles to help you out. They rapidly ask if you’re okay, covering you with towels.
“We saw you go under and didn’t come up for so long.” Your mom explains still very worried.
“Did you guys see that shark?!” From behind by the beach house, your uncle calls out as he comes running.
“Wait, shark?” You blurt out.
Your uncle rapidly explains how he saw the fin poking out of the water around you.
“Could have been a dolphin.” Your aunt offers.
“No, definitely looked like a shark. Thank goodness you got outta the water.” Your uncle playfully ruffles the towel over your head.
A few bystanders sitting nearby ask how you’re doing and also comment how they swore they saw the ominous shark fin swimming around you.
A shark. It doesn’t make sense. You felt strong very human hands on you. You knew a guiding force saved you.
But then the thick cotton clouds above pop and the rain comes. After heading inside and deciding to rest for the day, your gaze stays watching the harsh waves. The storm and ocean move in tandem. You wonder about the man you met, if he’s safe in the water.
Maybe it’s all the talk of the supposed shark in the water, but before you end up fading into a nap, you swear you see a fin swimming in the current.
- 𖤓 -
“You gonna be okay with us heading to the museum?”
For the millionth time you reassure your mom you’ll be fine staying back and getting more rest. The rain from yesterday’s storm stayed, a quiet downpour thankfully not as strong. After everyone heads out, you see this as an opportunity to head out to the beach.
With the rain, the shoreline is vacant. So with your umbrella you head to the beach. The murky water under the dim sky seems more mysterious and your eyes scan the waves, maybe waiting for something to appear.
“Glutton for punishment or somethin’?” The familiar twanged voice.
Immediately you snap your gaze to the side. There in the water, closer to the edge of the shore, is your mystery man.
You blurt out how worried you were about the storm and about him. His eyebrows furrow.
“Ain’t nothin’ I can’t handle.” He answers muttering.
“And you,” he asks, nudging his handsome chin towards you. “Y’doin’ alright?”
Your heart jumps in your chest. He came to check up on you.
Nodding firmly, you thank him gratefully. You knew it had to be him who saved you in the water.
The man simply nods.
You swallow hard then blurt out if he’s seen a shark.
His face hardens confused. It’s actually adorable with how curiously his dark eyes shine.
“A shark?” He mumbles.
“Yeah, thought I saw a fin in the water.” You don’t want to tell him your uncle did as well.
“Wasn’t a shark.” He answers gruffly, almost a scoff.
You want to press more, ask if it was a dolphin instead when your stomach instead growls loud. Your eyes go wide embarrassed.
One of his eyebrows raises.
“Sorry, need to grab some lunch soon.” You sigh embarrassed.
“Then head inside, lil’ minnow. Go get somethin’ to eat.” He says firm.
Before you can reply he’s sinking back in the water. But as he swims away that’s when you catch it faintly -
A sleek fin towering out of the water.
The shark creature is him.
Also…you realized he just called you a little minnow and for some reason, you find it oddly affectionate.
The next morning a mess of crabs clutter the beach. Even the neighbors besides your family’s place head to the shore to admire.
“It’s like the sea wanted us to have a crab bake.” Your mom laughs.
“They normally don’t wash up on the beach in this many numbers, it’s odd.” One of the neighbors explains to your uncle.
While everyone eagerly moves to get the crabs, your eyes stay on the water hoping to spot a fin among the waves.
At night, once everyone is asleep, you quietly slip out and head to the beach. The patio lights from the beach homes cast a soft illumination. The crashing waves among the abyss beyond are strangely calming even with the darkness of sea and sky stretching out wide.
Patiently you sit at the edge of the water, not even knowing what you’re truly doing here.
“Persistent one, ain’t ya?”
His voice emerges from the darkness and your soul almost jumps out of your body. This time the mysterious man flutters up from the waves and is closer than before.
“Why were there so many crabs on the beach?” You ask quickly and curious.
“Don’t know. Crabs are fuckin’ weird little shits.” He replies bluntly with a hard grimace.
A part of you thinks he does know why.
“How’s your wound?” You ask.
Gingerly he lifts himself closer to the shoreline and then goes to rest halfway upon the beach allowing you a sight of his torso.
The area where the wound is healing up nicely and you even grin relieved.
But him being half out of the water onto the shore also allows you a better glimpse at his lower body.
Tail. He has a tail.
It’s sleek, a deep stormy gunmetal gray, that in this dim lighting almost seems like a lovely rich blue. Faintly you can even see the dorsal find at his lower back.
It’s beautiful.
He’s beautiful. Lovely sun and age spots pepper his skin. His bare chest is broad and seems strong. This man from the sea is burly, solid, and aged, a force of the water that speaks of his power that’s weathered the tides
You don’t even realize you’ve said something, much less called him beautiful, until your mystery man responds.
“Y’think I’m beautiful?” He sounds terribly confused.
“Weirdest god damn human I ever met, lil’ minnow.” He adds muttering.
“I have a name.” You huff back, gently teasing.
“Yeah?”
Your lips twitch at his reply, and you give him your name. This beautiful merman stays quiet.
“And you? What’s your name?” You ask cautiously but hopeful.
No reply comes. You’re worried you’ve pressed your luck.
“Joel.”
Until he answers, and you discover this merman’s name is so lovely.
“Don’t normally see ya around here.” Joel comments.
You perk up asking if he lives nearby.
“More or less.” A cryptic answer.
You explain that you’re here for the summer. After finishing up for the semester you and your mom decided to take a break out here.
“Younger than I fuckin’ though.” Joel says harsh under his breath, and annoyance bristles in you.
“Probably not as young as you think.” You argue back, even explaining you’re just starting grad school so the break was needed.
Joel scoffs, not looking convinced.
“Maybe you’re just an old barnacle.” You fire back, teasing.
Surprisingly, this man from the water snorts amused. The sound is precious. You want to ask him more, learn more about him, but a tratorious yawn escapes you.
“Head to sleep, lil’ minnow.” Joel mumbles.
“Not tried.” You huff, but another yawn betrays you.
“Mhm.” Joel hums, and you think you see a twinkle of amusement in his deep eyes.
There’s so much you want to say, maybe even ask when you’ll see him again. But rising up off the sand, you hear a splash in the waves.
The spot where Joel rested is now empty. A wistful ache settles into your chest.
However the next morning though, an impressive mess of clams and oysters are on the beach. A bright bubble of a laugh almost escapes you.
When the night rolls in, you again sneak back down to the beach. This time you bring some of the leftover sushi from dinner.
You don’t wait for long before Joel swims onto the shoreline.
You greet him with a warm grin. His focus however is on the container on your lap. His handsome scrunched up face seems grumpier.
“What’s that?” He rumbles.
“It’s just fish and rice.” You explain opening the container. “Thought we could share.”
“It’s sushi.” He flat out says and your eyes go wide. He knows what sushi is and you even admit your surprise.
“Yes I know what sushi is.” He replies a bit crabbier. “Don’t live in a fuckin’ damn cave.”
“Where do you live?” You ask now.
“Somewhere.” He replies flatly not answering, so you don’t push it.
Instead you return to the meal before you.
“Since it’s fish, thought you might enjoy it.” You offer.
“You…brought me food?” His voice sounds steeled, cautious. You realize how suspicious it sounds and how hesitant he would be.
“It’s fine, I promise.” You reassure and even prove it by chomping down on one of the California rolls. Trying to ease the tension you ramble about the different types of sushi you like and those you don’t care for too much.
You realize now you must sound ridiculous. You’re about to clamp your mouth shut when very cautiously, slowly, Joel reaches over and grabs one.
It’s like feeding a stray cat and not wanting to scare it. You can’t help but turn to stare and see his reaction. He plops it in his mouth and cutely chews thoughtfully.
“Well?” You ask a bit hopeful.
Joel simply shrugs, almost bored, not even speaking on the taste or if he likes it.
But you do notice he reaches for another one.
In the quiet night, you and Joel simply sit enjoying this space together. You try to ask more about him and about his world. But the dry unamused look he gives his answer.
Joel instead is the one asking questions about where you live, what are you studying for, and one question that knocks you out surprised.
“Y’dont got a mate.” It’s more of a statement than a question, but you still almost choke on a sushi roll.
Stammering, you ask him what made him say that.
“Don’t have the mark humans wear that they’re taken.” Joel comments then moves to point to his ring finger where a wedding band would sit.
“Some couples don’t wear bands.” You argue back.
“Oh? Ya one of ‘em then?” He challenges.
Deflated, you mutter out a low no.
“Why?” Joel asks direct.
“Why what?”
“Why don’t ya have a mate?” He questions serious and his thick voice crawls over your skin.
You shrug, not knowing how to fully answer. Instead you half heartedly tell him you haven’t found anyone yet.
“Don’t sound like a good enough reason.” Joel replies.
Now you’re annoyed, even feel your face scrunch up at his casual tone.
“Why do you even care?” Your question comes out a bit sharper than expected.
Joel shrugs. “Just don’t make sense why a young thing like you is alone.”
Immediately you fire back that you’re not alone. You have friends and family that love you.
Now you stare at Joel hard and fully annoyed. His dark eyes scan your face while he stays composed, unable for you to read.
Your phone chimes with a text notification breaking the moment. You decide to call it a night. Joel is quiet when you move to leave.
The air hangs thick and tense. Internally, you try reasoning that you’re literally talking to a mythical being. This merman was bound to have a strange view of human customs.
You simply tell him good night and walk back.
Before you head inside, you turn around to the shore unable to stop yourself.
Joel very visibly is still in waves. His upper half floats among the obsidian sea with his dark eyes hyper focused on you. However once you spot him, let your eyes lock into his, the merman sinks into the water.
That night you dream of a man from the waves so handsome and real in your arms, but it feels as dangerous as a storm.
The following morning, instead of creatures fit for a seafood restaurant waiting, the most lovely shell sits on the sand.
“Oh that’s pretty.” Your mom even coos. It is.
Cherished and still in awe, you place the shell on your dresser.
Later that night you return to the beach again. This time time with a bag of chips.
Joel arrives hastily.
“The shell is lovely.” You tell him.
“Don’t know what you’re talkin’ ‘bout.” He answers simply, but his gaze stays eyeing the chip bag. Your heart warms even at his grumpy reply.
Opening the bag, Joel wrinkles his nose.
“Smells salty as hell.” He sneers.
“Says someone who lives in saltwater.” You snort munching on one of the chips.
“That’s sayin’ something if I say that shit is salty.” Joel huffs.
“They’re delicious.” You clarify holding out a chip to him. Joel’s face scrunches up even more, you laugh.
“What’s with all the sudden human food?”
You shrug. “Just a nice late night snack, thought we could share that’s all. Let you maybe just try more human food.”
With a cautious hard frown, Joel leans forward to the chips in your fingers and moves to bite it. In the process though his lips slide over your fingers.
His mouth is hot, wet. You even feel the brush of his tongue against your fingertips and try not reacting.
Joel makes a face as he chews, maybe not aware of what he just did. Your heart however rages fast and you ask if he liked it.
Now Joel’s eyes flicker to yours. You notice him swallow, notice how thick and bare his neck is and how you want to kiss it already.
He shrugs. You’re learning that’s a very common Joel answer and can’t push for more.
“Your mother. She seems nice.” He suddenly says.
You’re surprised he noticed her earlier out here. She’s been enjoying reading while you stayed inside enjoying a nice nap.
“Yeah, she’s pretty great.” You admit with a soft smile.
“Just you and her?” He presses and you agree happily.
“Where’s your father?”
You didn’t know you’d be discussing this with him. But you explain gently that your dad passed away when you were younger.
“Oh.” Joel’s voice pops a bit. “I… I apologize.”
You reassure him you’re alright. You were young, a child then, and appreciate his sympathy.
“Besides my mom always told me if I ever missed him, I just had to look up.” You tell Joel.
“What?” He asks and you turn your gaze up to the sky.
The stars are faintly out but so sweetly twinkling in the dark.
“My mom said my dad sits with the stars now, watching down and always shining bright to remind me he’s always with me, even when I can't see him.”
The words still warm you to this day.
Joel stays silent.
“And you? What’s your family like?” You ask returning your eyes back to earth, back to this son of the sea.
Joel continues to stay quiet. His focus now falls to the sand where you sit. You should’ve known he wouldn’t respond to something so personal.
“Got a brother, but he doesn’t live too close. He’s gotta pod of his own now.”
He has a brother. And they call their families pod. This information warms you, feels precious and rare.
“I had a pup.” Joel admits.
He had a child.
“Lost her many years ago.” He mutters soft.
Your heart shatters deep in your chest.
“Joel, I’m so incredibly sorry.” You tell him earnestly and sympathetic.
You gently ask him what her name was.
“Sarah.” A lovely name.
You glance back up at the sky. You don’t know anything about merfolk culture, how they honor those who have passed. But you can at least honor her the way you know how.
“Sarah is definitely up there too among the stars, watching over you.” You say reassuring.
The stars seem to twinkle back.
Again, Joel stays silent. You’re worried you might have stepped too far.
“Thank you.”
But in the soft breeze of the night, you almost miss his kind soft whisper of a reply back.
You and Joel sit in a soft silence for the rest of the night.
Waking up the next morning, from the view of your bedroom window, another shell sits on the beach.
This goes on for a little over a week. You sneak down to talk with Joel, even teach him how to play tic tac toe in the sand and discover he’s a sore loser.
Then beautiful trinkets arrive on the beach the following mornings.
Some were dazzling sea glass pieces you want to find a way to make into a necklace. Once he even left you a weather and a very old waterlogged broken compass.
You cherish it all.
But then one night, Joel doesn’t show. You wait, and wait. But no appearance of your merman. And no new seashell or trinket sits on the beach the morning after.
Again you head down to the beach at night. Still no sign of Joel.
You try not to get wrapped up in worry. But soon a week passes.
Now you’re worried, fully wondering what could have happened. You don’t even know where he lives to say you can simply go check on him. You feel a bit helpless, frustrated.
At the week’s end, your aunt wants to take you and your mom to a nice dinner in town. That night enjoying the nice meal, your eyes still drift to the view of the sea. Watching the soft waves, the dreamy sea, you simply hope Joel is okay.
When you get back, you head straight to bed and wonder if you’ll see your merman again.
In the morning, you almost don’t look out the window, like you’re trying to slowly detach yourself. But you do.
On the beach sits a new shell.
You practically fly out of the house and down to the shore.
Later that night, Joel this time rests on the edge of the water - waiting for you.
He’s never looked more beautiful in the moonlight.
You exhale relieved, welcoming him back. Joel’s eyes seem endless as he stares at you nodding
“Sorry, had some things I had to sort out.” He explains, even apologizes. You don’t even want to press why or get upset that he simply vanished.
He’s here and he’s alright. That’s what matters.
“I know it might be too personal, and you can tell me no,” you begin weakly. “But where do you live around here?”
You rationally explain it’s simply to see and make sure he’s alright. You even vow to keep it a secret.
“Worried about an old ass barnacle like me, lil’ minnow?” Teasing, he’s faintly teasing.
But you do worry about him. Even tell him that. Joel doesn’t reply for a moment.
“Tomorrow, come ‘ere early. And I’ll show ya.” His voice is as steady as a river.
You barely get any sleep that night. Before the sun even reaches over the horizon, with the sky faintly showing signs of waking up, you head down to the shore.
Joel already waits for you. He’s ethereal in the morning light. The soft cotton candy sky paints him in a delicate glow.
You walk along the shore while he stays in the ocean and you follow his lead. The guide of his fin from the waves would look menacing, the sign of a terrifying shark in the water. Yet you follow it without hesitation. Thankfully the pace is easy and you enjoy the fact that you simply have him by your side in his own way.
Slowly you walk further away from the familiar beach homes and down towards a more secluded part of the coastline. The houses begin to dwindle. Those still standing houses seem older in their style, rickety and abandoned.
Compared to your family’s beach home that sits further back on the land, these homes sit right above the water.
Weathered from their location, they seem like ghosts watching you. Eventually Joel leads you to a home that’s collapsed.
Halfway in the water, halfway in the sand, it is a cluster of debris and scattered remnants of a home
You watch Joel swim into it from the sea.
So this is where he stays. You find a small alcove to duck under and then step in. Surprisingly, the beach house had collapsed into a father cozy like alcove.
The echoes of the ocean softly swirl all around. When you glance out the opening, it gives a clear sight to the sea where Joel must freely swim in and out hidden by the cover of this remnant.
He’s made a home out of these hollow bones. He emerges out of the water, and his freshly slicked back hair has always made his face seem sharper. But here in the soft atmosphere he seems even more dreamy.
You earnestly thank him for showing this to you and even admire its coziness.
“Y’like it?” His voice is gruff as you continue taking in the space. Yet you feel eyes on you the entire time.
“I do.” You admit truthfully.
That’s when you spot the towel you gave him. It’s crinkled up in a ball, still covered in some dried blood. But he kept it. That reality gets logged in your throat.
You go to sit down on the sand and slide off the bag you brought. You didn’t know how long the trip was going to take and trying to add to the lie you told your family about going to search for sand dollars, you added the bag.
Now it proved handy as you pull out the box of assorted fruits you packed.
Feels like it’s been so long since Joel and you have done this.
Handing him an orange slice, he bites down on the whole thing not even letting you finish explaining not to eat the peel. You shriek a bit panicked, but he mumbles about you worrying too much.
“Well, someone’s gotta worry for you.” You huff back.
In this seemingly short yet expansive time you’ve known him it’s like you’ve become completely bonded to this strange man.
In very common Joel fashion, he settles into silence. Playfully taking an orange slice, you put it in your mouth then smile at Joel.
He snorts a faint type of laugh and it’s everything.
This time you also notice how close he rests on the sand next to you now, closer than he’s ever been before.
“Y’know…” Joel begins soft. “Never got to thank ya for savin’ me.”
His tender low rumble almost mixes in with the crash of the tide. You think of the blood stained towel still here.
“It’s okay. And you’re welcome. Plus I think we’re even now at this point.” You gently tease.
A deep hum comes.
“Ain’t like any human I’ve ever met.” He says even lower than before.
Something indescribable claws in you, and you glance at him. Joel is undeniably gorgeous, the most beautiful being you’ve ever seen.
His usual slicked back curls are starting to dry, highlighting their light fluff, and you ache to brush back some of his strands. However his intense gaze bores unflinchingly into yours. It’s like his eyes spark a fire in your chest burning everything in its wake.
Before anything can be said, Joel suddenly snaps up sharply glaring out to the sea.
“Need to get ya home, lil minnow. Gonna storm soon.”
The sky looked so clear on your walk here. Even now it doesn’t seem like a storm approaches. But you trust Joel. The minute you reach the beach house, thunder rolls in the distance.
Later, in the shower, your mind drifts to Joel. Your thoughts have been with him so much. But now they cross into a more sticky territory.
Joel resting beside you earlier was the first time you had ever seen him fully out of the water. Your eyes snuck as many glances as you could trying to commit the sight to memory.
You knew his golden skin bled into the color of his tail. But his tail, now that you fully saw it, was magnificent. Strong, sleek and sturdy, it speaks of how much power he holds as a son of the sea. Yet you can’t stop wondering where his reproductive organs were.
You knew he had a daughter but you also don’t know if maybe he adopted her. You didn’t want to ask about merfolk procreating, but your mind swirls with thoughts of it. Thoughts of something slippery slick, simply Joel’s, slithering in between your legs clouds your imagination and your throat goes dry.
You’re so caught up in those thoughts, you don’t even head down to the ocean that night.
Instead you dream of merman and the taste of saltwater on your lips.
-𖤓-
The beach is crowded today. You should’ve known the weekend would bring in more crowds. The amount of people must have deterred Joel away from leaving a gift.
You admit you were a little heartbroken when you didn’t see anything on the beach this morning, but you understood.
Now you sit peacefully in the water and search for more shells in the sand to add to your growing collection.
Eventually a soft beach ball gently bumps onto you.
“Sorry!” The splashes come, and off to the side are a pack of three frat boy like guys.
“Kinda got away from us.” One of them says bashfully.
“It’s okay.” You reassure.
“I like your swimsuit.” The guys smiles, and you thank him.
“You wanna come hang with us? You look lonely.” One of them asks then takes a swig of his beer.
Politely you decline, but thank them for the offer.
“Aww,” another says, swimming a bit closer. “C’mon. Gotta be better than just sitting here doing nothing.”
“I’m fine.” You kindly try to stay composed, but you already don’t care for how persistent they are.
“Man just leave her, she looks like a fuckin’ prude anyway.” One of them laughs, and your gut feels uneasy.
Fucking pieces of shit.
You don't even reply, not knowing what else they can do. Skin feeling tight, you want to get out of the water now, and hope they leave soon.
They snicker and laugh with each other, talking amongst themselves. It makes your skin crawl even more. Now you really decide to leave.
Suddenly a horrified scream comes.
It’s male, pierces through the air with pure agony.
You whip your gaze around and find blood spilling into the water. One of the guys that was just speaking to you is the one screaming, holding his leg swearing something attacked him. Another one of the guys then collapses into the sea as he screams. More blood colors the waves.
“There was something in the fucking god damn water!” One of them yells.
Off to the distance someone yells ‘shark!’ and terror fills you fast. The panicked commotion arrives. You frantically scan around.
The fin barely moves above the waves, but you catch a glimpse before it dips below the water.
From the shore, your mother screams your name begging you to get out. You return to land but are determined to find Joel.
“I’m gonna take a walk, clear my head.” You tell your mom.
“There’s a shark in the water! Just stay inside for the day.” She urges.
Promising you won’t get in the water you even reassure her you’ll have your phone on hand. With an apprehensive sigh, she nods.
You practically fly down the coastline.
Even in the middle of the day, no one pays you a second glance. Thankfully further down the beach the commotion trickles down until it’s just you and the sea. Approaching the decayed and vacant homes, this time they feel like guards keeping you safe.
Immediately you slide into Joel’s alcove. You’re not sure it was him, but something inside just whispers it was.
You discover a sight.
Joel sits halfway out of the water and snaps his face up to you. His eyes are what you notice first. Even with how dark they are, his pupils are now slits, reptilian like. Then when he spots you, they expand and dilate as his face crumbles.
He mutters out your name.
You spot his hands - now instead claws with faint traces of blood staining them.
Before you is an apex predator, a true hunter of the waters. And he’s glorious.
The blood seems to confirm it was him in the water. He attacked those guys.
“Go home!” He barks, a fierce growl.
“Did they hurt you?” You ask softly, approaching him with hesitant steps.
He repeats his words, roaring at you to leave, but you don’t. Even with how fierce and terrifying his voice rages, you move, almost possessed, to kneel on the sand beside him.
“Are you hurt?” You repeat again gently.
He pauses before barking out a quick no.
“You were in the water?” You question low.
“I…” you’ve never heard Joel hesitate like this. Your eyes stay on his claws.
A moment passes.
“Always try to swim nearby when y’get in the water.” Joel admits, like he doesn’t even register yet that he's speaking.
Your heart gets tangled in your throat.
“Normally I stay far away and deep enough, but those fucking boys… the things they said.” He snarls disgusted and vicious.
He attacked them because of you. That reality rearranges your soul.
You now gingerly reach down to the water and gingerly grab his hand. Reflectively he almost draws away.
“What’re y’doing?” He mutters sharp.
“There’s still blood.” You whisper back then start pouring water over his hands, cleaning him.
The emotions surging in you feel too deep and strong to describe, but they consume you. You rinse his hands, being cautious of the sharp edges, watching the water fade away the crimson more and more.
It’s quiet in the alcove. Just you, him, and the soft sound of the waves. When his hands are free of blood, you gather one in your grasp. His talons are sharp. He’s dangerous, and you adore him. You gently draw it up to your face.
He doesn’t stop you. You even worry this might be too much, possibly overstepping. But this feeling in your chest is so raw you can’t stop.
You lean into Joel’s palm and gently kiss the center of it as your eyes close.
“Thank you.” You speak, barely recognizing your soft voice.
Suddenly you’re jostled. Your eyes snap open petrified thinking he’s shoving you away. Only to find he’s instead swiftly pulling you closer.
You’re only allowed to process that in a blink before his lips crash into yours. You inhale sharp but eagerly scramble to grab onto him now.
He tastes like the sea, of something deep and ancient but beautifully Joel, and your mouth opens up to him wide and greedy.
You can tell he hasn’t kissed recently, or maybe kissing other merfolk is different, but he’s messy. Teeth clink and crash, but it’s fierce, truly him.
Like the surge of a wave Joel moves against you unleashed, and you draw him closer now moving to rest back against the sand.
Joel shifts moving over your body with a clumsy but earnest ease as he continues kissing you fervently.
Your hands run up his broad and strong shoulders while his hands, claws no more, now map your body out.
“So god damn soft.” He says hoarse and deep against your lips. Then Joel burrows his face against your neck and inhales.
“Smell s’good.” His voice trails off while his lips begin kissing and nipping against your skin.
Your body reacts, rising up to grind against him.
“Joel.” You whisper out his name and he growls. The vibrations of it rumble against your skin rattling your bones.
“Wanna mate ya.” He mutters low, as if smoke leaks into his voice. “Wanna make y’mine.”
“Please please please.” You beg him dizzy and clawing at him.
Joel licks at your skin, and your eyes close in bliss.
He’s a force, dizzying and consuming like the sea itself, and you happily fall under his current. Your swimsuit top is discarded and Joel makes quick work diving down your body to your bottoms.
Without warning he shoves his face into between your legs, flat against your pussy and inhales deep. The most powerful groan rattles the air and you whine.
“Wanna taste, want more.” He mutters possessed, clawing at your bottoms that you shimmy out of.
Now you squirm a bit self aware, very hyper aware, of how intently Joel pokes and strokes around your folds with eyes focused.
You even shift your legs hoping to close them when he growls.
“Don’t hide. S’mine.” The possessive nature leaking out of his voice makes you drip.
That first lick he takes against you, you almost come especially when he groans debauched.
“Taste so fuckin’ good, knew y’d taste so fuckin’ good.” Joel mumbles.
What he lacks in his full knowledge of your body, he makes up for that in how fervently he lets his tongue explore and dive into you. It drives you mad, and your hips trash trying to press into him more.
When you come, he moans loud.
Lips wet with your essence Joel crawls up your body in a daze kissing you as much as he can.
Now he grinds down into you and you feel a very new sensation, a hard bump against your core.
Joel draws back and you now fully see the new raised area against his front torso. His hand palms it, the same way a human would, and he hisses. You ache to touch him.
“Wanna make you feel good too.” You mutter.
Joel blinks back at you, still hazy in his dark eyes. But he leans down and bumps his head against yours soft.
“Starlight, y’sure you want this?” You sure you want me, is what you hear.
You nod and kiss him soft on the lips.
A part of you wanted to be afraid, to not face the growing desire for this creature of a man. But when Joel and you become one, it feels as if the world becomes whole. Like this is what it’s always meant to be, you and him.
Your legs sliding against his tail, his teeth biting into your neck with an aching promise wanting to break the skin, you discover a crescendo of passion like no other, a crashing of the land and sea.
He is yours, just as much as you as his.
Now curled against him on the sand, your merman keeps you in his arms tracing his fingers against your shoulder. Every inch of you feels sore but in a delicious way. You enjoy resting against his sturdy frame.
“You’re still so warm.” Joel mutters a bit in awe.
“And you feel nice and cool.” You smile wiggling closer to him even while being practically glued to his side.
“Can I ask…” you begin hesitantly, and he hums a rumble of a noise that sounds like he’s giving you the okay.
You ask him why he suddenly vanished for that week.
Joel sighs, dreary and deep.
“Didn’t wanna face how… close I was gettin’ to you.” The reveal makes your heart flutter.
Softly you rub against his solid chest then lean to kiss it.
“Glad you came back.” You tell him, and he simply nods.
However even in this soft afterglow, a small doubt trickles now in.
“Joel.”
“Hm?” He sounds as if he’s falling asleep against you.
“Is this… Are you sure this is okay?” You ask delicately.
Joel snorts.
“Yeah, s’okay.” He reassures you. “Been practically courting ya this entire time anyway.”
He says it almost casually, like if it’s an afterthought. Your mind however skips over itself.
You bolt up to look down at your merman still lounging on the sand. His face scrunches up pouting at the loss of your body next to his.
“Wait? Courting?!” Your voice shrills.
Joel rolls his eyes and tugs at your arm trying to get you back into his embrace.
“What do you mean courting?!” You continue sqwuaking.
“You sound like a seagull.” He deadpans. You swat at his shoulder urging him to please explain.
You even stare at him determined. An adorable almost bitterly bashful expression colors Joel’s handsome face. Those deep eyes of his dart away from your stern gaze.
“S’nothin’. Been takin’ care of you same way you’ve been takin’ care of me, that’s all.” He replies gruffly still seeming embarrassed.
Suddenly it all clicks.
A few semesters back you took an ecology course for a science credit. You faintly remember a lecture about how different species mating behaviors. Your professor even made a comparison of a man winning a game of billiards against another guy to establish himself as a strong opponent.
In essence, sometimes mating rituals were about proving you were a strong provider and protector.
Joel had been doing this all along. The way he protected you on the beach, the various seafood critters left on the beach, the way you also fed him, along with the beautiful seashells and trinkets he left -
It had all been his own way of showing his affection and intentions.
Your merman opens his mouth to say something, but you pounce on him quickly. You kiss him pouring in all your devotion you can, and Joel welcomes you greedily.
Eventually a text from your mom comes asking if you’re alright and it gently bursts the bubble you’ve been happily sheltered in. Begrudgingly you kiss Joel many times goodbye. He of course swims by your side the entire walk home.
Later that evening, you sneak back out to the shoreline and kiss your handsome myth of man so many times under the moon's watchful eye.
“So you’re mine?” You ask quietly among the crash of the waves.
Joel nods firm and steady. “Just like you’re mine.”
You float in a dreamy bliss and wish more than ever you don’t have to leave him for the night.
“Don’t worry, lil’ minnow.” He reassures you with one last soft kiss. “I’ll be in the water.”
It’s a promise, a vow, as true and beautifully ancient as the sea.

Miracle Children
For as long as you could remember, you were always surrounded by white walls. Sometimes you got lucky and came across a gray wall. You were surrounded by children your own age, all of them just like you were sick, or that's what the doctors told them.
When you were not old enough to recognize that the children and the few adolescents around you who went crazy were not because their illnesses became complicated.
But you realized that too late... All the children of the ark, the name given to the place where they always spent their childhood, only knew the doctors and nurses, with their monotonous colored suits and serious attitudes.
You considered all the walls that surrounded you your home, with the other children who became your inseparable friends and then your family, a term that a child tried to explain to them, he had found a book hidden somewhere and read it with curiosity, You remember when he ran to their shared room where he excitedly told them what he had discovered.
A few weeks later he was taken by some nurses, like the other children, and they never heard from him again.
You tried to smile, be a happy girl, play with your friends, but the pain became more and more a part of your life, the needles filled with strange liquids made your veins burn, you writhed in pain more and more.
Until one day while you were playing with some of your friends with their stuffed animals, some nurses entered the room, everything around you stopped, as they walked, getting closer and closer to where you were.
They dragged you away from your room.
You ended up somewhere else, this time with gray walls and a bed on the floor.
Your life took a big turn, no one talked to you or played anymore, now you were just locked up, sometimes receiving different treatments from doctors, other times eating in a large room, where there were a small number of children that you had never met, some were even older. .
Something was common in everyone, even in you, they were emaciated, they trembled, without strength, they were no longer children who rarely received their treatments, now they were young people, who spent their days in a laboratory, where they were injected with liquids for hours, or pills rarely.
You couldn't go on like this anymore, they were... they were finishing you off.
That boy who couldn't continue and went crazy before taking his last breath was right. Their screams that these people were slowly killing us.
You ended up lying on your poor quality bed, hoping that all the suffering your body was going through would stop, you wanted to close your eyes and not feel pain anymore.
Hands grabbed you and dragged you through the dark and lonely hallways.
You couldn't move any part of your body, even though your mind told you to run away, fight, because something bad would happen to you, you remained like a lifeless corpse, letting them do what they planned.
You were thrown into a strange place, your eyes were cut off, the light of this great place was very strong, there were many colors around, even if they were dark, they were colors that you had never observed. Where you were lying was a hard place, your skin itched, something pricked it.
You watched as the men took something out of their pockets, a strange metal thing, which pointed at your head.
You saw how another teenager was dragged towards where you were, but the difference was that this one did fight, kick and scratch.
When I got to the floor I tried to continue fighting, I managed to hurt one of the men, you saw how this angry man took the object out of the hands of one of your escorts and pointed it at the boy.
A loud bang and the young man stopped, a red liquid gushing from his body, which always came out of their bodies when something bad happened. His lifeless eyes watching you brought tears to your eyes.
You were scared, you saw how the boy had just left, you... you didn't want that to happen to you.
Not at the hands of those people who brought you nothing but suffering since your childhood.
Anger came to the surface, you didn't want to continue like this anymore, die just because they could finish you off.
The memories of what happened next were vague, what you were sure of was that among that darkness that surrounded them, some animals came out and attacked the men, and continued towards the facilities to attack the others.
Other boys, who had strange abilities that you had never paid attention to, came out, bloodied and agitated. You waited until some boys claimed they were the last, some holding small children in their arms.
They were the oldest, those who were still alive.
One of them nodded towards a boy, the next thing was seeing the entire facility in flames.
The same animals that entered came out before the entrance became useless, they ran to where you were.
A fear invaded you, you thought they would attack you, so you put your shoulders on your face to avoid seeing your end.
But they just licked your face. An entire pack of wolves and a panther surrounded you.
Along with a large group of children and adolescents, who had now begun to live for the first time in their lives.
The miraculous children experiment was a project that a government scientist put into practice, with the help of a millionaire, so when the great authorities stopped supporting him to preserve his humanity and morals, the scientist continued with his great new project, after doing participated in cloning.
Although the project ended after a fire that killed everyone involved, including the project leaders and their sponsors.
This is how the surviving children sought revenge, to kill all their attackers, directly or indirectly.
Of course it wasn't all, the majority tried to live a new life away from all the suffering.
You were one of the few who stayed in a neutral group, where you took care of the younger children and helped those who sought revenge as much as you could.
That's how you thought until you saw in the distance how a fight was breaking out between your companions and the scientist along with his army.
You were on the sidelines watching the fight happen, until the heroes you had discovered really existed appeared and started fighting.
Only it was not with you but against your friends, as you were the danger.
They never hurt anyone, they were always obedient children even if it meant they would be hurt, no one ever saved them but yourselves, and now they appear protecting criminals, they just wanted to return the harm they caused them, but here they were preventing them from doing that.
You got angry...
Nothing could calm you now.
You walked towards the great commotion, shaking with anger, they believed themselves to be saviors, people who do the right thing.
But they never got them out of their suffering, in fact they want to continue causing them pain, they found out about that when they sent some of your companions that they caught to a place where they would be locked up forever.
They couldn't stay, that's the way it was.
You raised your hand forward. You waited a while while receiving confused looks.
A large stampede approached, many wild animals ran in your direction and began to attack with great speed the man's guards that they were trying to hunt.
Things turned in their favor again. Even more so when one of yours started broadcasting the battle live, who would want to see heroes hurting children and animals.
You took advantage of that moment and looked for the man, seeing him flee, you ran towards him, avoiding what was coming towards you, luckily a panther who became attached to you, let you climb on his great back, while he ran at high speed towards where you were. you asked.
A few meters away you jumped off his back, with claws that one of the boys from his base had designed, you scratched the man's neck.
But that wasn't enough, you dug your claws, over and over into his chest, no matter how much he screamed and begged, you kept going, he deserved it, even if that wasn't enough of what he had to go through.
“Retreat, the target was eliminated” you shouted, which made all your companions stop.
They launched a few attacks and approached a girl who was maintaining a barrier.
You did the same, all the wild and scary animals that received your call scattered, disappearing in a matter of minutes.
A portal created by a boy opened where everyone began to cross, no matter what attacks the heroes gave them, they couldn't catch them.
You saw all the heroes for the last time, they would no longer fight directly, this man was the last big shot on their list, only the little ones were missing.
But one person caught your attention, a boy, his appearance was the same as that child, although he was older, it couldn't be him... they had taken him from the ark and no one ever heard from him again.
But here you see him with eyes as blue and bright as when they were two little children who played happily and ignorantly.
You smiled at him, it was good to see him, still alive, but now he was your enemy and you had to be careful.
You passed the portal next to the panther who rarely left your side.
The new organization of criminals was a new threat for the heroes, they became difficult for them to control, a real challenge.
Which they expected to control with their protégés, what they did not expect is that just a new presence would change the game and they would once again have the odds against them.
See the new character, a girl with delicate features, a peculiar parascience... but vaguely known.
Many saw your smile, although it was not directed at them, they had, when they saw it only one thing came to their mind, familiarity, it was the same one that someone always wore.
Luckily the man who had died managed to take a little of your DNA.
Something that made it possible to start an investigation that would bring them closer to the new criminal group.
Oh that's what they thought because they never found anything.
Just a DNA that was equal to that of one of the leading heroes.
That puzzled everyone, as well as the bat of the night who noticed the familiarity he had with one of the criminals.
new idea, it wasn't mine @blueberry19000, thanks for the inspiration and idea.

Author’s Note: any and all comments are appreciated <3
x
Another day, another eight hours spent in this mansion. This is a place you can never see yourself living in only because you can’t ever think to make as much money as your boss does. From what you know, he’s the CEO of two companies, has investments in other places, and is just really smart about managing his money. You don’t see him often since he spends most of his time in his office or not at the house at all, but he did hire you to clean his mansion. He pays you generously, more than you have ever made in your life, twice even.
He’s very generous but you hear he’s a cold-hearted bitch. He’s the most respected and most eligible bachelor this state has ever seen, but he can be as cold as ice. You’ve walked past his office before and have overheard him yelling at people more than once. You do not want to be on the receiving end of that cold stare, so it’s best if you keep your head down and clean as best as you can without getting in his way.
You walk into the kitchen carrying five bouquets of bright and colorful flowers. Dean doesn’t like to keep color in his mansion--only black, gray, and white--so the flowers stand out beautifully. He doesn’t seem to mind since they don’t move once you put them up. Before you get started cleaning, you replace the old flowers with the new ones and toss the old ones into the trash.
Normally, you connect your speaker to your phone and use music to pass the time, but you promised to call your best friend once you got here because of what happened last night. You grab the cleaning cart from the closet and start with the kitchen, and you call your best friend on FaceTime. It’s better than keeping the phone to your ear or putting in uncomfortable headphones in your ear.
“Bitch, you will never guess who just sent me a DM,” Gen says when she answers.
“Who?”
“Isaac.”
“What did he say?”
“What do you think? You rejected him last night and he thinks coming to me is the next best thing.”
Isaac used to be your boyfriend. You were blind to the red flags in the beginning of the relationship because you thought you were in love with him. He said all the right things, did all the right things, and made you feel special. He complimented you all the time, showed you off to all of his friends, and never laid a merciful hand on you.
That is, until about a year into the relationship. The red flags became so apparent that you couldn’t ignore them any longer. He became possessive, jealous, controlling, and more violent. He has never hit or slapped you, but he has grabbed you hard enough to leave bruises on your arms. You broke it off a month ago but the bitch won’t stay away from you.
He keeps showing up at your house telling you to come home and that you’re being overdramatic. He’s there when you go get coffee in the morning. He’s there when you visit your sister (he’s friends with her husband). He’s there even in your nightmares. You’re shocked he hasn’t shown up at your work. You’re not sure how Dean would take to having someone like Isaac in, on, or around his property.
“The best thing to do is ignore him. He’ll go away,” you sigh.
“I don’t think so. He was pretty adamant about getting in touch with you. My husband would have kicked his ass if he came over.”
You wipe down the counters with a sigh.
“I’m sorry this is happening to you.”
“I think you should call the police.”
You roll the cart into the living room and get started dusting the surfaces.
“He hasn’t trespassed onto your property, though. What will they do?”
“He’s harassing you, Y/N. He keeps coming to your house uninvited. That’s trespassing. He was bad enough as your boyfriend, but now he’s crossing the line into psycho territory. He hurt you, Y/N. The bruises may be gone but those emotional scars are still there.”
You replace the duster and stand in the living room in thought. She does have a point but the bruises are long gone. That’s physical evidence you don’t have to use against him. He hasn’t laid a hand on you since the breakup. What will the police do?
“Yeah, I know but they won’t do anything if he hasn’t done anything. If he does, I’ll make sure to call you.”
“Yeah, I’ll fuck him up.”
You giggle at her eagerness. “I gotta go. Got lots to clean.”
“Yeah, for the hot bachelor.”
“Him being hot has nothing to do with him being a bachelor.”
“Still, you’re lucky to see that all day.”
“I rarely see him. He stays in his office all day which I’m not allowed in, by the way. If he’s not in there, he’s at his office building in town.”
“You’re single and he’s single. I’d tap that if I were you.”
“Imagine if Isaac found out. He’d kill Dean.” You roll the cart into the bathroom. “I gotta go, though.”
“Call me later.”
“Will do.”
Like you told Gen, you don’t see Dean the entire day. If it weren't for the initial interview you had with him and the short passings you’ve shared with him, you wouldn’t think he’s real. There is one thing that Gen got right. The man is hot. Gorgeous, even. If you two saw each other at a bar, you’d definitely be trying to take him home. Bright green eyes, tank skin, freckles, bow legs, and muscles for days. The man is the whole package.
After doing your eight hours, the sun is already going down. You leave the invoice for Dean on the kitchen counter as he requests before returning the cleaning cart and packing up your things. You walk across Dean’s lawn to get to your car but pause when you see someone standing in your way.
“What the hell are you doing here?” you hiss at your ex. “How did you know where I work? How did you get past the fence?”
“I know everything about you, baby. I’m here to see if you’re done being dramatic.”
“Being dramatic? You’re a psycho!”
“I call that determination.”
“Okay, Isaac, I need you to leave. We broke up and this is highly inappropriate. Plus, Dean isn’t going to be happy when he finds you loitering on his property.”
“Who the fuck is Dean?”
“Isaac, please leave. I don’t want you here. I don’t want you in my life anymore. Show up uninvited again, and I will call the police.”
You try to walk past him but Isaac isn’t taking no for an answer. He grabs your arm so tightly you think there will be bruises there tomorrow.
“If I were you, I’d get your hand off her.”
You and Isaac turn to see Dean standing about twenty feet away.
“Who the fuck are you?” Isaac snaps.
“The fuck person who owns this property. Get your hands off her.”
Isaac listens and you move your arm to get the blood flowing again.
“Come on, Y/N, let’s go home.”
“No, I’m not going anywhere with you. Just leave me alone.”
“Are you deaf? No means no.”
“No offense, dude, but she’s mine, okay?”
“Not on my property, she isn’t.” Dean narrows his eyes.
“Your property?”
“Yes, touch her again and I’ll decorate your remains across it.”
“Whatever,” Isaac scoffs. “Call me when you’re done being dramatic.”
Isaac turns and leaves until you can’t see him anymore.
“Did he hurt you?”
“No, I’m fine.” Dean doesn't believe you but he’ll let it go for now. “I’m sorry about that.”
“No need to apologize. It’s not your fault, but you’re not going home. Come on, you’ll stay here for the night.”
Dean turns and starts walking back toward his house. You don’t know what to do but you feel yourself following him. It’s like your legs have a mind of their own.
“No, it’s okay.”
“I’m not a man who takes no for an answer, Y/N.”
Damn, that’s hot. You’re definitely thinking with your vagina and not your head. You should get in your car and go home but something compels you to stay here with Dean.
“Would you really have scattered his remains across your lawn?” you ask when you catch up to him.
“Which answer would make you feel better?”
“Never mind. Don’t answer that.”
Dean chuckles and leads you up the stairs. “Do you have a friend you can stay with?”
“Yes.”
“Good. You can stay with her tomorrow. Isaac won’t be a problem much longer.”
You’re too scared and too turned on to ask follow-up questions. He takes you to a spare bedroom and opens the door for you.
“Thank you, Dean.”
“Anytime, sweetheart. I’m right down the hall if you need me.”
He leaves you alone, but you’re not sure what to do now. In less than twenty-four hours, you’ve gone from working for Dean to sleeping in the bedroom next to his. He’s now on Isaac’s radar but you have a feeling Dean can take him out before he even knows what’s happening.

((Please don't hate me. I was reading a Midsummer nights dream when I wrote this. ))
“You mean to tell me that you’ve combed through every inch of that footage? That you have tried tracking her suit and you’ve-”
“YES BARNES! YES!” The surveillance employee snaps, snatching the glasses off his face and rubbing the point between his eyebrows. Never, not once, had Eric Micheals raised his voice at a higher man. Let alone the Winter Fucking Soldier.
But he didn’t know how else to say it. They combed through every piece of evidence, every second of footage and all the villages nearby. They. Found. Nothing.
“How does someone just disappear? Are there any blindspots in the-”
“Even if there were blindspots in the footage we would have seen her somewhere.” Eric snaps, and Bucky feels his fists clench, an unnatural anger pounding in his chest. Rationally he knew that the kid was just doing his job, but he felt like he couldn’t breathe without you. “If she left that building then we would have seen her.”
“We combed through the building to find her-”
“Enough.” Steve sighs, stepping between Bucky and his target. “We know Y/n got out. But she apparently didn’t take a natural exit.”
“Then how did she-” Nat begins but Steve cuts her a quick glance to silence her, turning back to Bucky. “We’ll figure it out, Buck. She’s out there-”
“I know she’s out there.” Bucky snaps, rolling his eyes as his flesh hand travels to the ache in his chest. “I can feel her, she’s right here.”
“You can feel her?” Tony scoffs, shooting everyone else a ‘can you believe this?’ look as Sam steps forward.
“Then we keep looking, keep brainstorming ways to find her.” Finally Bucky lets out a breath, walking to his pal with a calm expression. At least someone here was in his corner.
-
There was a thick feeling in your chest, one that you could not quite explain, but you knew it was there. Like a cord was wrapped to your ribcage and pulling, and no matter which way you turned or walked you just couldn’t seem to shake it.
The woman you were staying with often watched you closely, watching as you shuffled around her home in an attempt to ease the pressure, if she thought it weird she didn’t say anything on it. But then again it was already weird enough that she had someone in her house making plants grow at the speed of light and not have a clue as to who she was.
But that didn’t stop her from taking care of you. She fed you a hot meal morning and night, gave you a warm bed to sleep in and often carted you around town to help with her work.
She sold flowers, and ever since you had gotten involved she had never ending line out the door to buy your once in a lifetime flowers.
You felt powerful and endless, and though you had no clue who you were you knew you had never felt this kind of power before. And even with all that you still felt…. Empty. Like you were missing something very important.
Never ending, the pressure in your ribcage only tightening more.
Like today, walking behind the strange woman with a hand on your side, following her around the market as people all stopped to turn to you with shocked expressions. You understood their expressions, and had been shocked yourself when you saw how long your hair had been and the vines growing around your arms that you just couldn’t seem to shake.
You looked like a goddess.
You just wish you remembered who you were.
-
It was not long before the people around you figured out that just a touch from you was a healing spell, and soon enough everyone was desperate to touch you. People calling for you as you pass, screaming out a name you didn’t know as the stranger who saved you snatches your wrist, jolting back when the gray of her hair darkens back to the original color and some of the wrinkles along her face disappear.
You can only stare, blinking slowly as she snatches her hand away quickly. And though you had no memories you knew what you had just done was wrong. A wave of panic fills you and you find yourself yearning for something. The smell of black coffee and spearmint filling your senses as she mumbles an apology.
“I didn’t mean to scare you.” She mumbles, the russian accent heavier from the adrenaline. “Come. Come. We go before they find us.”
“I want to heal.” You croak out, showing your hands before gesturing to the groups you had left behind you. “I can help-”
“Okay. Okay.” She mumbles, slowly leading you back to them, this time careful not to touch you.
You try not to be stung by that, and that heavy feeling in your chest dampens more. You were missing something.
-
He had to find you, he knew something was wrong.
If anyone were to hear him talk about it they would think he was crazy, but he felt it. The lack of energy and the heavy feeling in his chest. It was like he could feel your pain even while he was away.
“Buck.” Someone calls and he has to turn to find Sam walking to him, a small smile on his face. That was another reason Bucky knew something was wrong, he had NEVER seen Sam so sprightly.
It was like you had completely healed every single thing. Something he had never seen you do before, sure you helped in the med bay sometimes but even that was simple stuff that took most of your energy. He remembers all the times he had come in himself needing stitches.
-
“You know I heal fast, right doll?” He laughs, watching as you blush and not make eye contact while you continue stitching him up.
“This will help heal you faster, and I would very much appreciate it if you would stop getting shot so much.” You try to smile, eyes widening as he gasps out to scare you, realizing what he had done a second later. “Don’t do that.”
“I’m sorry,” He laughs, reaching his flesh hand up to swipe at your cheek. “I had to, you know it. You’re so anxious and I’m not gonna die on ya dollface.”
“I’m not your dollface right now Barnes”
“You’re always my dollface, even when you’re mad at me.” He smiles from ear to ear. “What time is your shift over, we can head over to the diner later.”
“Oh, I’m just helping out right now.” You smile and he blinks.
“You’re helping out? Doing all this and not getting paid?”
“I’ll let you buy me dinner as payment.” You smile, giving him a wink and then walking off for your next client.
It still amazed him how you convinced Stark to take public patients to allow better access to medicine and tech that the Avengers could provide.
-
“Buck? You hear me?” Sam calls, snapping his fingers.
“What?” The soldier asks, blinking slowly as he tries to snap you out of his thoughts for a second.
“I asked if you wanted help watering Y/ns plants.” Sam repeats himself, moving to grab another water canister as Bucky thanks him and gets back to working. His thoughts go back to the clinic you had been running, something he checked on everyday to make sure it was still running-
“Y/n.” He gasps, snapping to Sam.
“What?”
“Y/n. I know how to find her. I know how to find my girl.” Bucky laughs, dropping the water canister and splitting from the room with Sam hot on his heels. He dashes to the surveillance room, shocking Clint and Natasha on their shift.
“What now Bucky?” Clint groans, turning on his hearing aid as Nat slaps his arm.
“I know how to find Y/n-”
“Barnes, we have been through this. We’ve check-”
“Check the news for towns near the compound we rushed. Check for any healing activity.”
“Healing activity?” An intern laughs. “Like ibuprofen sales?”
His metal arm is reaching out quickly to snatch the shirt of the intern, pulling him up. “You about to make fun of the one person in this building who made you a specialized medicine for your mothers chemo therapy?”
“N-No man-”
“Sir.”
“NO SIR!” The kid cries out and Bucky releases him, rolling his eyes as the kid dashes past. “The Y/n I know would find a way to help anyone near her. And if she can heal Sam down to the lungs then she has enough energy to perform some miracles.”
“You don’t even know if she ma-”
“My girl made it out. And my girl is definitely out there making a change so let’s go.”
-
There were a lot of sick people here, from asthma to cancer to allergies. And they all wanted your help, which you were more than happy to give.
Child to mother to stranger to another child. Over and over they all kept coming.
You did what you could, touching their forehead or hands, some of them asked for a kiss on their head.
You did as much as you could, and hadn’t even realized when you started bleeding from your nose until the strange woman ushers you away, still not touching you herself.
“Melina.” Someone calls, and a younger woman with blonde hair appears before you, eyes wild as she taked you in. “Is it true.”
“Yelena.” The brunette stranger warns, and just like that you had two names but there was only one stuck on your tongue.
“Bucky.” You blurt and both women snap their attention to you.
“She is a god.” Yelena blurts and Melina shakes her head.
“A curse.”
“I’m lost.” You murmur, but they don’t seem to hear you, too busy arguing over each other.
-
“She went through the earth.” Bucky smiles, looking at the basement where they had lost you. Now unflooded and easier to search it was clear how you had managed to get out. You had quite literally gone through the earth.
It was like you had sunk through like a soft mattress, in a moment of panic you drew from the earth.
“Barnes.” Nat calls, red hair appearing quickly. “We got a hit.”
“We did?”
“You won’t believe what town we found her in.”
-
There was a heavy commotion, the sound of heavy wind and the next thing you knew everyone was dashing to hide, which made your instincts snap out.
Turning to look you see some of the dust rising up before you blink and see Cornell there, a silent scream tears through you as you dash for shelter as well, bare feet scraping against the concrete.
You had lost Melina and Yelena that morning, and now you wish you hadn’t strayed as you make a mad dash through the area, hearing footsteps follow you.
A small thud is heard to your right, a soft curse of a man, and when you look back to see you find a taller male with metal bird winds dodging from rocks being thrown by children. He ducks from their rocks, calling for them to calm down before the kids all yell out and run, when he removes his arm you spot a look of shock over his face.
Before you can even realize what you had done you see vines grow quickly, snatching him by the ankles and throwing him up before he could retaliate.
He searches around for the source, spotting you with a shocked look. “Y/n, IT’S SAM!”
But you were already dashing, the bottom of your foot scraping before it heals in a flash as you dash up a fallen post before a blur of red hair fills your vision and you are lashing out once more to protect yourself.
Cornell had come back for you, you knew it. This was the end of it all.
The female is blocked by a tree and another figure with a bow and arrow is pulled into the dirt as you dash up the post and climb into an abandoned building, moving to find a space to hide.
-
“Jesus, she’s gone wild.” Clint gasps, trying to take his foot out of the quicksand you had formed under him while Nat moves around the tree to help him.
“This is my fault.”
“You know I love you, but right now I’m gonna have to agree.” The deaf man gasps as Steve and Bucky speed to them.
“Which direction?” Steve asks, but Bucky is already passing, almost like he could already sense where you had gone. Steve follows close and Nat gives one more look to Clint before he shakes her off and turns to Sam for help.
“We should have brought the witch.” Clint snaps, allowing Sam to coach him out.
Steve and Bucky take cover by the wall, looking to the post you had climbed as Nat takes the lead, being the first to climb up.
“Never thought we would be hiding from Y/n.” Steve whispers through the comns.
“It’s not Y/n, she was panicked and scared and mumbled something about Cornell.” Sam grunts.
“She said Cornell?” Bucky blurts, a little louder than intended .
“No. I just gave you misinformation for fun-”
“Shut. Up.” He snaps, using his metal arm as leverage up the beam to get to you faster. “Y/n!”
The ground beneath the building shakes a bit, and he hits the floor of the building to hold himself stable, taking a moment to review his surroundings. No gun in sight, and no weapons shown. You were an enemy but you were also still attacking.
“Y/n!” He calls again, the ground shakes more.
“Barnes!” Nat calls, lunging in with Steve.
-
“Y/N!” Cornell calls, but you couldn’t stop, you were running. You were free and there was nothing that was going to stop you now.
You were no longer his pet.
A shot rings out as the forest branches tear at your skin, and you don’t recognize the pain until you step on the leg that had been shot and a scream tears through your throat as you hit the floor, pain filling your body.
You try to silence yourself, you really do but there is nothing that could stop the sobs as you try to pick yourself back up, you had to do this. You had to save yourself.
There is a blur in the corner of your eye and you were sure Cornell had caught up, so you pull the strength to stand and keep running.
-
Once you hear that name, the name you recognize as your own, you can do nothing but run.
There are people running behind you, but you don’t risk a look back, and you don’t have enough energy to fight them so you focus on running.
This was something you knew, you were going to be free.
There is a blur to your right, and you realize that you are running against people with superspeed and can’t really fight that. So you turn to the left, only to be tackled by a figure you hadn’t even seen.
“Dollface.” Someone gasps out, the feeling of metal and flesh wraps around you in a soft embrace as they try to slow you down. “Cornell is not here. Dollface I swear it.”
-
The blur had caught up, holding out his hands to you in a calming manner, doing his best to ease you down from the very tightrope you had formed.
“Cornell is not here, okay? I’ve got ya. I’ve got ya.” The stranger hushes you, getting closer and closer.
You recognized it now, you knew him. This was your closest companion. He had saved you from Cornell and he had come for you.
So you take a deep breath, turning to him with tears in your eyes as you try to calm down, trying to remember how you had ended up here in the first place.
“You came for me…” You whisper, a sob escaping your lips. “I’m sorry I ran.”
“It’s okay.” The man holding you eases, letting go of you slowly. “We’re here for you dollface.”
“Thank you….” You cry, missing the confusion on his face when you turn away from him. “Thank you for coming back for me Stevie.”
“I’m Steve.” The blonde stranger smiles, rubbing your shoulders. “But my friends call me Stevie.”
“Stevie…”
-
Bucky is at an absolute loss of words, feeling you rush from his grasp to jump into Steve’s arms quickly, a pang of jealousy crossing through him when he sees Steve wrap his arms around you and kiss your head.
This can’t be real.
He doesn’t know what to think, he doesn’t know what to do.
Everything in him is screaming to grab your attention and bring you into his arms, apologize for ever ignoring you and taking what he had for granted. To promise that he will never leave you again and beg you to forgive him.
But you are sobbing into Steve’s chest and before he can act on his thoughts he catches Nat’s eyes. But when he was expecting a warning from his friend he was mistaken, instead he saw a devastating jealousy written over her face as she watches Steve hug you.
There is another sinking feeling as he realizes, finally, why Natasha had been so firm on protecting him in this situation.
“You both are so wrapped up in each other that you forget to breathe without each other. Codependency hurts more when it’s forcefully torn rather than willingly.”
Natasha had gotten attached…. To Steve.
-
Tony is waiting at the landing pad when the quinjet arrives, nerves in his stomach rumbling. He hadn’t received a confirmation from anyone, and that was never a good sign. So he was the first out, watching as the ramp door opened and his team was revealed.
A relieved gasp escapes him when he sees you, curled into a blanket with vines covering your arms and legs, a bit of green smudging your cheek and the tips of your fingers. He takes a couple quick steps forward, ready to greet you, until he sees Natasha storm down.
“What’s going on Widow?” He asks, only for her to rush past with Clint on her heels. Sam follows, rubbing the back of his neck with a saddened expression.
Bucky walks up next, jaw tight and his fists tense as Tony looks at him.
“Why aren’t you with Y/n?” He hated Bucky, but even he knew this was unsettling.
“Ask. Stevie.” Bucky snaps, shouldering past Tony as he finally looks back to where you are holding on to Steve’s hand, just like you had the first time he brought you here.
“This is a mess.” Steve whispers, leading you to the door. “A mess I don’t know how to fix.”

Words: 3.1k
It may be true that your apartment is closer to work than Eddie’s trailer, but your car always seems to have a mind of its own when you’ve had a bad day. You’re pretty sure that your car takes over and brings you to your boyfriend’s place without you even being conscious of it. Today was no different. You’d forgotten your lunch at home, been late because of traffic, and worst of all, been passed over for the promotion you know you deserved.
It all led you to sitting in your car outside of Eddie’s home, his truck not in its usual place in front of the trailer. He should be home any minute, but every second that ticks by grates on your nerves like a broken bow on a fiddle.
The moment you see—or rather, hear—his truck come into the trailer park, you yank your key out of the ignition and get out of the car. The squeaky bucket of bolts careens into its usual spot, then falls silent. The blaring metal music stops, and the engine dwindles down until it’s quiet. The driver’s door opens before you hear it slamming closed.
“Hey, baby,” Eddie says as he walks around the front of the truck. He takes a drag of the cigarette he’s been smoking, then tosses it into his empty garbage can out front. “Been here long?”
“Not really,” you say, instantly attaching yourself to his side once you’re close enough. “Missed you.”
“Missed you too,” Eddie says, ducking down to press a kiss to your head. “How was work?”
When your only response is a sigh, Eddie frowns, the subtle wrinkles by his eyes becoming even more prevalent. He tugs you over to the front door and ushers you in once he’s unlocked it. You watch as he takes his hair tie out, shaking his mane free. The wild brown curls cascade down to his shoulders. Unable to help it, you reach up and play with the hair framing his face. It’s something that’s always calmed both of you; you playing with his hair. It can relax Eddie to sleep and have you forgetting all your troubles of the day. Wrapping a single curl around your index finger, you notice the start of some gray at his temples. It makes sense since the lack of color has been popping up more and more in his beard and stubble lately. You don’t think he believes you when you tell him how sexy it is.
Eddie leans down, cupping your face in his hands, and presses a soft kiss to your mouth.
“Rough day, baby?”
You nod and he instantly wraps you up in his arms. He hasn’t even changed out of his greasy coveralls yet, but you couldn’t care less as you bury your head in his chest. His large hand strokes up and down your back as he presses sweet kisses to the top of your head. When he goes to pull away, your fingers tighten over the zipper of the coveralls, silently begging him not to let go.
“Don’t want me to make something for dinner?” he asks. You shake your head against his body. “Want me to order takeout?” You shrug. Eddie sighs and squeezes you against his body. “How about this…” Eddie pulls back just enough so he can tilt your chin up, forcing you to meet his gaze. “Why don’t I call up to get some Chinese food delivered—I know, I know, Golden Palace is your favorite—and I’ll get changed and hold you in my lap until the food gets here.”
“I’d like that,” you tell him. Satisfied that he came up with an agreeable arrangement, Eddie smiles and presses a kiss to your forehead.
He makes his way into the kitchen, balancing the phone receiver on his shoulder as he searches the fridge for the magnet with Golden Palace’s phone number on it. “Want your usual, sweetheart?”
“Yes, please.” Kicking off your shoes, you nudge them over to join the tiny pile of Eddie’s near the front door. As he talks on the phone, you make your way down the hall to his bedroom. The starchy blouse and pinching skirt you’ve been wearing all day have worn out their welcome. Slipping them both off, you drop them on the chair in the corner of Eddie’s room. Spotting your favorite pair of Eddie’s sweats hanging out of a drawer, you move to go get them before freezing in place. No, you decide, you don’t want to wear them. You’re content in just your bra and panties.
Eddie’s bed is one of your favorite places in the world. And here and now? It’s just about irresistible. Climbing on, you lay back against his pillow and take in the messy room around you. Clothes are strewn about everywhere, despite his hamper in the corner being empty. There are a few photo frames on the walls now, which makes you smile. Before you, there’d only been posters of bands and movies. Some are still there, but now there are also photo collage frames on the walls featuring the people he loves. His uncle is in a few of them, as well as his buddies from his old Hellfire days. There’s even some of you that you begged him not to hang up, but he said you looked so good in them that he wanted to look over at them whenever he wanted. But your favorites are the ones of you two together. One of them is from when you’d gone to Chicago together and got caught in a snowstorm. Another is of you standing on the corner of a dock at Lover’s Lake, where you forced Eddie to hold onto your hips and recreate the Titanic pose. He’d rolled his eyes, but who’s laughing now that he put the picture up on his wall?
Eddie steps into the bedroom and stops when he sees you only in your underwear. “Babe, you can borrow clothes. You know that.”
“Didn’t wanna,” you say, making grabby hands for him. A soft smile comes to his face as he sheds himself of his coveralls and climbs on the bed next to you.
“What do you want?” Eddie asks. He’s pretty sure he already knows, but you both know you’ve got to ask for it. His suspicions are even further confirmed when you just look at him from beneath your eyelashes, fluttering them at him. “Tell me, princess.”
“Want you to make me feel better,” you say in a hushed voice. Not looking him in the eyes, you trail your fingers over Eddie’s thin gray t-shirt. “Want you to take care of me. Like only you can.”
Before Eddie, you barely had any sexual experience. But with the limited amount you did have, guys could never make you feel good. They were lacking in multiple ways, actually. Not only could none of them bring you to orgasm, but they couldn’t even distract you sufficiently when all you needed was to get out of your head for a little while. Eddie had gotten you into subspace the very first time he’d tried. Never before had you trusted someone so much, felt completely safe, which only added to the hazy feeling that came over you. You’re pretty sure Eddie was made specifically for you. Funnily enough, he thought the very same thing.
Eddie nods, laying one of his large hands on your stomach. His calloused fingers rub against your bared skin, leaving goosebumps in their wake.
“I can do that,” Eddie assures you. “Let’s get you more comfortable, okay babydoll?” At your nod, Eddie slips your panties from your legs and you reach behind you to unclasp your bra. Once the garments are tossed somewhere on the floor, Eddie crawls on top of you, nuzzling his nose against yours. His nose trails down to your throat, but that’s not the part of him you want there. Eddie notices the barely there whine that escapes you as he places a hard kiss against the soft skin of your neck.
“My princess wants my hands, doesn’t she?”
“Yes, sir.”
Eddie shrugs himself out of his t-shirt and unzips his jeans. He might as well take it all off now because he doesn’t want to have to stop for a single moment once he’s got you going. Finally shed of all articles of clothing, Eddie lays one large, tattooed hand on your hip. Ever so slowly, he moves the hand up your body. Over the softness of your tummy, over the small tattoo you’d gotten on your ribs, just below your breast, that you decided to get after admiring Eddie’s ink for so long. Finally, his hand trails over the swell of your breast, only pausing briefly to flick a thumb over your nipple, before slipping over your collar bone and halting on the one place you wanted it. The pressure Eddie applies to his hand on your throat isn’t enough to impact your breathing, but enough to feel the possessiveness in the gesture. Waiting until your eyes slip closed, Eddie tightens his hand just slightly, causing a hitch in your breathing. This is your sweet spot, he knows. Right where you start to feel your worries melt away.
“You want me to fill you up?”
“Y-Yes, sir. Want you t-to fill me up, please,” you say.
“Gonna fuck my baby girl so hard,” Eddie says as he nudges your legs apart. “Won’t be able to have a thought in her pretty little head that’s not about me and how good my cock is making her feel.”
Resting back on his knees—but not too far back, keeping the pressure on your throat—Eddie spits into his free hand before working his saliva up and down his cock. Seeing you already relaxing, legs spread, eyes closed, and his hand on your throat? Eddie didn’t need to pump himself very many times before he was clamoring to be inside of you. Running his fingers through your folds, grinning in satisfaction at how wet you already are, he mixes your slick with the saliva on his cock. He lines himself up with your entrance, eyes focused on your face as he pushes in. Your brows pull together, just a little, and a low breathy moan escapes your lips. Eddie leans over you, bracing himself on the forearm of the arm that’s not holding you around the throat.
“How’s that, baby?”
“More.”
“More, what?” Eddie asks, raising his eyebrows.
“More, please, sir.”
“That’s my good girl.”
A groan tumbles out of Eddie as he bottoms out. He thrusts his hips, sliding himself in and out of you, picking up the pace just a hair each time. The pressure on your throat increases as his hips snap against yours.
“Wanna tell me what happened at work? What’s got you so upset?” he asks as he keeps a steady pace.
Keeping your eyes closed, a sigh escapes your lips. “Out of all the p-people who started working there around the same time I did, I-I’m the one who’s most qualified for—.”
“Ah,” Eddie cuts you off with a tut. “That was a test to see if I fucked the stress out of you yet. And I failed.” At that, he begins pounding into you even harder, the headboard against the wall sounding like a jackhammer. Whimpers start to fall from your lips, and when you open your eyes, a few tears slide down the sides of your face. Eddie pulls out of you, releasing his hand from your throat and you groan at the loss of both sensations. “Come on up, baby. I want you on your hands and knees.”
Letting out a small whine, you turn your head to bury it in his pillow. “M’comfy, sir.”
“Up, princess,” he orders.
He slips his hand underneath you and pulls up. Complying, you move slowly, letting Eddie know that you're headed in the right direction. Once he’s satisfied that you’re in the position he wants, —and has admired the view—Eddie pushes his cock back inside of you. He gives it a few thrusts before his one hand grabs your hip hard enough to bruise and the other gives a harsh smack against the soft plush skin of your ass.
“That’s one, baby,” Eddie says. “Want you to count them for me, okay?” When your only response is a nod, Eddie gives your ass another smack. “Okay?”
“Y-Yes,” you whine. “That was two, sir.”
“Good girl,” Eddie says as his hand rubs over the area he just struck. With no warning, he pulls his hand back and gives another stinging slap.
“Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Uh…”
“Come on babydoll, what number are up to now?” Eddie asks.
“I don’t remember, sir,” you admit with a whimper.
That’s the answer Eddie wanted, though. Your brain was slowly turning to mush, which meant he was doing his job. It almost meant that he needed to get you on your back again, since he knows that’s where you get the most enjoyment out of subspace.
After one more smack to your ass, Eddie reaches forward and wraps his thick fingers around the front of your neck. He guides you up until your back is pressed flush up against his chest.
“How’s my princess feeling?” he asks as he slips out of you. The sensation causes a whine, bringing a soft smile to Eddie’s lips. “Shh, just changing positions, sweetheart.” He carefully maneuvers you until you’re lying on your back again. Before you get fully down though, he slips a pillow under your hips. One, it’ll support your ass, being sore from the spanking. And two, this angle always allows Eddie to hit your sweet spot.
Hands holding onto your hips, Eddie slides himself back inside of you, causing your face to scrunch up in the most adorable way. He lowers himself to hover over you, his dark curls curtaining his face above yours, like the two of you are locked together in this private moment. Your eyes blink open, sleepily, as he starts pounding into you again. Eddie’s wish was coming true; there was nothing in your head besides him. Heavy eyelids drooping, your gaze shifts down to his scruff, making Eddie let out a breathy chuckle.
“Looking at the gray again, baby? I don’t get what you find so sexy about it. Like the fact that I’m old, huh? That I know what I’m doing and know how to take care of this tight little pussy of yours? None of those boys your age know how to handle a woman like you, do they? No. You need me. I know what you need, baby girl. I know what makes you feel so good.”
Eyes becoming too tired to hold open, you let them close again. Your mouth opens slightly, and Eddie doesn’t hesitate to run his thumb along your bottom lip.
“Such a pretty girl.” Your eyes open again, the fucked out expression a sign of victory for Eddie. “Aww, look at you. Got my smart girl all nice and dumb, huh? My cock that good, princess?”
Whines begin to fall from your lips, your brows tighten up. Eddie can read your body better than he can read The Hobbit, so he knows you’re very close. It’s a good thing too, because so is he. Whenever he sees you this blissed out, it hurtles him towards his own release.
Supporting his body with one arm, Eddie reaches down and rubs tight circles over your clit. “How’s that, babydoll? Does that feel good for my baby?”
There’s an imperceptible nod of your head, but Eddie sees it. Feels the way your walls are starting to clench around his throbbing cock.
“Let go, sweetheart. Let me make you feel so good.”
Your body is limp, the only movement is the rapid rise and fall of your chest, and your hips as they move against Eddie of their own accord. The moment your body tips over the edge and into your orgasm, Eddie feels his. Feels the way you soak and clench his cock. It has his hips stuttering, letting out a string of moans and curses as he releases inside of you.
“Fuck, princess,” Eddie says as his body comes down from his high. He looks down at you, eyes open but glossy and relaxed. Mouth curled into a lazy smile as you look back up at him. You’re spent and so is he.
Taking a deep breath to try and get his breathing back to normal, Eddie pulls out and flops down beside you. He knows sometimes it can take you a little while to come back to him when you’re in this state. But he also knows that holding you while you’re in this haze is your favorite part. Maneuvering the blanket on the bed—which he now needs to wash—he tucks it up to both of your waists. Slowly and gently, Eddie manages to get you to turn over and holds you in his arms. Your face nuzzles into his neck, your sweat and his blending together.
“You did so good for me, baby girl. You’re always so good for me. I’m one lucky old man.”
The soft giggle against his skin lets him know that you’re still there with him. He rests his head against yours and runs his fingertips up and down your bare spine. “Why don’t we take a bath after this, hmm? Nice warm bath, then curl up on the couch. You can pick a movie to watch while we eat dinner. How’s all that sound?”
“Good,” you say, barely audible. Your arms slip around Eddie’s waist, and you pull yourself as close to him as you can in your floaty state.
Eddie gives you a gentle squeeze in his arms. He presses a kiss to your forehead, and you look up at him. Gazing into your eyes, he can see that you’re coming back to him bit by bit. Once you relax your grip on him, he’ll go get you some water to drink and run the hot water for the bath. But right now, he’s going to lay here and enjoy the cuddles that you both need. He knows you’ll thank him for this when you’re fully returned. And he’ll tell you yet again how you don’t have to thank him for it. That he loves being with you like this. The fact that you trust him in this way. Seeing you go from majorly stressed to being totally blissed out was more than enough thanks for Eddie. He feels honored that he gets to help you in this way. His perfect little girl.
“How you feeling?” Eddie asks softly.
“So good,” you say dreamily, making Eddie chuckle. “I love you, Eddie.”
“I love you too, princess.”

Hii , can you do a bf Vinnie x gf reader. Where reader is colorblind and tells the house about how much she hates it, a few days later they surprise her with those colorblind glasses?
wait i love this sm ahhh!!!
pairing: bf vinnie x gf reader
warnings: none just fluff
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
“Babe, I need help.” Y/N whined as she stood in front of the closet looking at her clothes.
“Yeah baby?” Vinnie asked as he walked behind her, hands going to her waist as she let out a sigh.
“What color is this shirt?” She asked, pulling the hanger off the rack as she held it in front of her.
“It’s purple with little blue flowers.” Vinnie responded as she slowly nodded her head, sniffling lightly as she tossed the shirt on the dresser next to her.
Vinnie furrowed his eyebrows as he turned her around, concern filling his face as he saw the few tears travel down her face.
“What’s wrong love?” He asked softly, bringing his hands up to carefully wipe the wetness off her cheeks.
“I just hate this.” She breathed out. When she was 6, she realized she couldn’t see certain colors such as purple, green, and sometimes blue. The colors all looked the same to her. After going to the eye doctor, they confirmed she was colorblind.
When Vinnie and her started dating last year, she felt embarrassed because of it, not knowing how to tell him. He only found out after she picked up what she thought was a green balloon for Jett’s party, but it ended up being a purple one.
From then on she always had Vinnie to tell her the difference between the colors and he was always more than willing to help his girlfriend out.
“I know. But I promise you I’m always here to help you. I love you.” He spoke, gliding his thumb over her cheekbone as he placed his lips to her forehead.
“I love you too.” Y/N whispered back, letting her eyes flutter close at the small action.
~
“So you can’t see the color of my shirt right now?” Jordan asked as Y/N shook her head.
“Okay what color do you think it is?” Evan leaned forward as Vinnie sighed, rubbing a hand over his face.
“Guys enough please.” He spoke, not wanting his girlfriend to get upset or feel like they’re making fun of her.
“It’s okay Vin.” Y/N assured, rubbing her hand over his arm that was wrapped around her neck loosely.
“To me it looks a mixture of blue and gray. Your shirt, the plant over there, and Hera’s mouse toy all look the same color.” Y/N explained, pointing to Jordan’s light purple shirt, the plant by the window, and Hera’s blue little mouse toy.
“Interesting. I thought people who were colorblind only saw gray.” Reggie spoke up, making Y/N shake her head.
“No, I can see other colors. Like I know Vinnie’s shirt is red.” She pointed out, turning to give her boyfriend a small smile.
“Have you ever looked into those glasses they sell? I heard about them a few years ago.” Evan asked as he leaned back in his chair.
“I have. But they’re just too expensive. Plus I have Vinnie here always helping me.” Vinnie smiled, leaning down to plant a kiss on her head.
~
Vinnie paced back and forth around the living room of his apartment. He was waiting for Y/N to get home from work so she could open the gift he got her.
He wasn’t sure she would like it and it made him incredibly nervous.
Suddenly the front door opened making Vinnie stop his anxious pacing as he saw Y/N walk in, looking beautiful as always.
“Hey!” She smiled at him, setting her purse down on the counter before leaning down to pick Hera up as she came running up to Y/N.
“Hi…” Vinnie spoke, slowly walking over to her.
“You okay?” Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, noticing the way he slowly walked.
“Mhm!” He responded, giving her a slight smile as he leaned down and pecked her lips.
“I got you something. Now…please don’t hate me for this.” Vinnie hesitantly spoke, grabbing the small box from the couch before handing it to her.
“Okay? I don’t think I could ever hate you though.” Y/N said, looking up at him. Vinnie just nodded his head as he gestured to the box.
Y/N stood behind the counter, using a kitchen knife to slice the tape. When she opened the box, her eyes met the smaller white box. She took it out, flipping it over as her eyes scanned over the words.
Enchroma Glasses
Y/N blinked her eyes a few times, making sure she was reading it right before her vision got slightly blurry from her eyes filled up with tears.
“Vin…I…oh my god.” She spoke out softly as she shook her head.
Vinnie walked over to her, wrapping an arm around her middle as she leaned into him.
“Why?” She asked, looking up at him.
“Because, you deserve to see all the colors in the world. Plus if I’m not here you can still tell the difference between colors.” He explained, watching as the tears fell down her face as the words left his mouth. He reached up and wiped her cheeks softly, pressing a small kiss to her forehead.
“I love you.” She spoke, looking into his brown eyes, a color she was always blessed to see.
“I love you too. Come on, try them on.” He patted her hip slightly as she turned towards the box, opening it up to see the pair of glasses inside. The lenses had a slight blue tint to them and Y/N let out a breath before putting them on.
She let her eyes adjust as she looked around the apartment.
“Okay. What color is this?” Vinnie asked, holding up the light blue throw pillow on the couch.
“Blue.” She spoke, Vinnie’s eyes getting bright as he smiled.
“Yes. Um…okay what about this one?” He grabbed her purple water bottle from the counter.
“Purple!”
“Yeah baby!” Y/N felt so overjoyed as she ran to her boyfriend and attacked him with a hug.
“Thank you.” She spoke, her voice laced with sincerity.
“You’re so welcome, my love.” Vinnie responded, leaning down as he connected their lips together.
“Can we go on a walk so I can look at everything?” She asked, bouncing on the balls of her feet as Vinnie smiled wide.
“Of course. Let’s go!” He said, holding out his hand for her to take as they walked around the city, Y/N looking at all the colors she couldn’t see before.

But headcanons of what snow (old) would act like if he saw the granddaughter of his first love that he betrayed or something , like she looks exactly like her and she’s been chosen for the games
Reminder of His First Love | Coriolanus Snow Headcanons
Warning/s: Old!Snow, mentions of death, possible grammar and spelling mistakes
Author's note: OMG THIS IS AMAZINGG!! I really tried and I truly hope that I did this justice it deserves and I'm sorry if this is not what you had on mind. Enjoy!
So you're a granddaughter of one and only songbird, Lucy Gray Baird.
After she escaped form Snows clutches, she made it look like she was dead just so he could leave her alone forever.
Her heart broke from his betrayal.
She moved to the furthest part of the District 12 once she returned back home.
She tried to live her life to the fullest after everything that happened.
Later on she married a nice man from her District and they had a son.
She sadly passed away not long after.
However, her spirit lived on and passed itself upon her dear granddaughter who she sadly never met.
She would've been proud if she knew you.
Your father always told you that you were your grandmother's clone.
And boy was that true.
Your face, your hair, your voice, the way you carried yourself... everything was just like Lucy Gray.
Your mom always used to joke that she was reincarnated in came back as you.
And just like your grandmother, you got picked for the Hunger Games as a female tribute from District 12.
President Snow was sipping on his tea as he watched the reaping ceremony and he could swear that his heart stopped beating for a moment once he saw you in a colorful dress as you stepped up.
He tried to not think of Lucy Gray Baird for a long time, now imagine his shock when she stepped onto that stage once again.
Once the interviews came and you were interviewed by Caesar Flickerman a usual question came up.
"What is your talent?"
You stopped to think for a moment and answered without hesitation.
"I can sing." You smiled at him and then looked at the crowd. "I know that it may not help me much in the arena, but I'm really good at it."
Snow thought that you proved that, alright.
You formed alias whith Foxface in the arena.
As she died you held her in your arms as you sang her to sleep.
"No, nothing you can take was ever worth keeping..."
Snow was frozen in his seat.
During the games, he found it hard to watch them somehow.
It was perfectly clear that Lucy Gray came back to haunt him and destroy him.
And boy did she do exactly that.
He never would have thought that Lucy Gray's daughter would become the leader of the rebellion.
He should've explained it, though.
The rebells won and you were supposed to be the one to execute Snow.
The words that you told him once you met up with him before his execution echoed in his mind until the moment he died.
"I am absolutely repulsed by you."
With that, Lucy Gray's clone left him speechless.
He couldn't believe that after all those years she still affected him.
But you now what they say, you never forget your firsts.
Pretty soon he was tied up against the pole as you stood a few feet away from him.
"You're as pure as the driven snow." You mocked him before you let the arrow fly, ripping through the air.
It seems like Lucy Gray's mockingjays did harm him after all.

Chapter 1: Welcome Home

summary ~ Hired by the elusive Aemond Targaryen, you arrive at Harrenhal House to care for his niece and nephew. Things go bump in the night.
warnings below the cut for your convenience
warnings ~ spooky ghostly stuff, angst, mentions of death, loss of a child, blood, wound care
note: and so begins our spooky adventure! I hope you enjoy it!
banner made by the ever lovely @ewanmitchellcrumbs, ilysm ange!
Harrenhal stands on the edge of our world atop lush, green hills. The God’s Eye Lake is the biggest in the country, more like the sea than any landbound body of water you’d ever seen before.
As the Uber driver creeps along the bend of the God’s Eye, the old manor begins to come into view. A thick layer of fog seems to cling to the bricks; gray tendrils creeping onto the driveway and spilling onto the lawn.
“Are you a long way from home?” your driver asks, meeting your eyes in the rearview as he attempts to strike up polite conversation. You assume it’s because of the rather rough start you got off with him.
“Harrenhal House?” he had asked, face red, eyes wide, “That place is cursed.”
Not exactly the warm welcome you had wished for when you arrived in the Riverlands. Not exactly the impression Aemond Targaryen had given in his email when he offered you the job. The interview had been completed over the phone. His voice was cold, words clipped as though he wanted to find someone qualified and quickly to care for his niece and nephew.
The car pulls up to Harrenhal, tires crunching against the gravel of the driveway. The iron gates were open as you’d driven up, expecting your arrival. Hedges and statues covered with moss decorate the path toward the main house. The car slowly creeps closer. Your driver clutches the wheel as though the house means to swallow him whole.
Harrenahal stands out like a stain against the clear blue sky. It is an enormous manor, with shutters, and brick the color of pitch. The terrifying eyesore of the Riverlands. Crows have made their nests in several of the gables, their beady black eyes watching intently as the car comes to a halt.
A murder.
Of course, you’d done your research before accepting the position. Both on the home and on your host.
Harrenhal had a grizzly history. Your driver wasn’t wrong when he called it a cursed place. But the dead didn’t scare you. You had ghosts of your own.
Aemond Targaryen was a different story. Second son of Viserys Targaryen, whose recent passing was still hot news in the corporate world. Not that you paid close attention, but you’d heard there still had been no decision on the naming of the new CEO of Fire & Blood Co.
The death of the patriarch seemed to trigger a chain reaction of devastating events. If Harrenhal was cursed, so was the Targaryen family tree. Wherever the silver-haired blue bloods go, tragedy seems to follow.
The death of little Jaehaerys is the most tragic of all.
You’d yet to see a child-sized coffin and desperately hoped you never would.
They’d whisked Helaena Targaryen away from the boisterous streets of King’s Landing rather quickly after the funeral of her first son. After her accident.
You didn’t know what had happened, it was omitted from the press. Even the tabloids had only guesses. You doubt there are many limitations to actions caused by a mother’s grief.
Jaehaerys left two siblings behind; a twin sister and an infant brother still too young to toddle. Aemond Targaryen was hardly ready to be a father. You’d researched him as well and read about his ascent up the corporate ladder.
The boost of nepotism couldn’t have hurt, but from what you could tell, as you hunched over your laptop in the darkness of your hotel room, Aemond Targaryen had worked hard for his success. A tragic accident when he was a child left him blind in his left eye, leaving it cloudy and sightless, though nothing more was disclosed online about the incident.
There were other Targaryen siblings; an elder sister from a first marriage, a party boy, and another brother backpacking through the eastern continent. You flipped through countless articles and stalked the Instagram pages of the elusive family.
However, Aemond Targaryen did not have social media.
What he did have, was a marriage announcement, followed soon after by an obituary.
A handsome young widower. Not even thirty.
The deceased wife was much older. You’d browsed through Google images while slurping cold pad Thai, though there were hardly any pictures of them as a couple. Aemond seemed to avoid the press at every chance.
There weren’t many photos of him; just candid shots here and there—a dark suit, a flash of silver hair. You had shut your laptop after that, feeling suddenly self-conscious, as though Aemond would know you’d read about him the first time he laid eyes on you.
Your Uber driver helps deposit your bags onto the gravel, shutting the trunk with a grunt. He turns to you, eying the manor nervously, as though it's a living thing waiting to open its jaws and devour you.
“You be careful, love,” he tells you, nodding towards the house.
“I’m tougher than I look,” you assure, awarding him a wry smile.
The smile he offers in return is more of a grimace, and he is quick to return to the safety of his vehicle. You grab your carry-on and the handle of your suitcase, gazing up at the manor. A crow caws, alerting the others to your arrival.
A group of crows is called a murder.
You walk up to the doors, knocking once, twice. There is no answer. Turning the handle, you stepped into the grand foyer. A large staircase is the first thing you see, though you’re distracted by the man walking down the steps at a leisurely pace.
Aemond Targaryen is more intimidating than the candid photos you’d hungrily browsed. He’s tall, with broad shoulders and a slender waist. His long, silver hair is braided into a bun resting at the nape of his neck, a few tendrils ghosting around his face. Pouty lips, sharp jawline, high cheekbones, and a beautiful straight, pointed nose.
You’d always had a thing for noses.
Seven hells. Stop that. This guy is your boss, your employer.
His eyes. One blue, the other milky and lifeless. The gash of a faded scar running up the side of his face only served to make me more handsome.
He greets you with the title of Miss, the gentle timbre of his voice floating down to you. It’s so formal, as though you’ve walked through a portal into a Jane Austin novel. He doesn’t smile, just watches you, sizing you up.
Fucking hell, he’s even more handsome in person.
The man could be a model if business doesn’t work out for him.
You swallow the lump in your throat as you watch him descend the steps. With his hands in his pockets, and white button-down sleeves rolled to his elbows, he oozes an air of cold confidence as his eyes trace over you. He doesn’t offer a hand to shake, despite his formality. Even when he removes his hands from his pockets, letting one drag slowly down the railing.
“You didn’t arrive with any other baggage?” Aemond quips, the fingers of his left hand uncurling from a clenched fist.
You blink, before glancing at your suitcase, at the carry-on bag beside it, “No…?”
Aemond hums to himself, lips pressed firmly together. His face gives nothing away, an emotionless mask of disinterest.
“No estranged boyfriend who’ll be coming looking for you?” he asks pointedly.
Your cheeks warm at his statement. You should have guessed he’d be direct. He didn’t ask you in the interview about a partner; just made sure you were able to commit to the position for at least six months.
“No,” you tell him, “No boyfriend.”
His eyes, both the blue and the milky sightless, hold your gaze intently before he nods.
“Follow me then.”
Aemond gives you a tour of the house, showing you all the rooms you’ll have access to. Mysteries are hidden behind closed doors that Aemond doesn’t acknowledge, including a closed door decorated with paintings of vines and flowers. He omits the majority of the west wing of the house which includes the location of his study.
A man has his secrets, you suppose.
What he does show you is the kitchen, along with the nursery and the library. Despite the age of the house, the kitchen is large and modern, with cabinets painted a deep forest green beside stainless steel appliances. A gas stove houses a tea kettle, ready and waiting.
He shows you to your room last; on the eastern side of the house close to the nursery. You follow him down the hallway, the sound of your footsteps echoing in the silence. Aemond has not attempted small talk throughout the tour of the house.
Aemond has stayed silent unless he is informing where he is taking you next, his hands clasped behind his back. It almost looks uncomfortable, the way he holds himself upright, his spine straight as an arrow.
“Your sister lives here as well, right?” you ask absentmindedly looking at the tapestries that decorate the hall.
Aemond stops in front of a door, turning back to you. Those cold eyes stoke a fire within you, setting you ablaze with each glance. He is silent for a moment before he opens the door.
“This is your room,” he continues, ignoring your question, “There are extra sheets in the lower drawers, and on Sundays, the housekeeper comes to strip the beds and tend to the rest of the house.”
He opens the bottom drawers of the large oak dresser. A large mirror rests on top of it accompanied by a dark jewelry box. The dresser matches the rest of the furniture in the room; all dark stained wood as though each piece was dunked in ink. A large four-poster bed sits in the middle of the room, the green comforter is warm and inviting. You can see God’s Eye from the large arched window; the water sparkles with the afternoon light cascading across the surface like diamonds.
“I hope you’ll find it satisfactory,” Aemond says.
You turn to face him, standing in front of the window letting the warmth of the sun on your face.
“It’s more than satisfactory,” you tell him, “Straight out of a Shirley Jackson novel.”
Aemond shifts awkwardly from one foot to the other, seemingly perturbed by your praise. He purses his lips, glancing at the carpeted floor. You swear he’s smirking slightly.
“A backhanded compliment.”
“It’s not meant to be,” you assure him, your face warming with embarrassment.
“Yes well,” he says, clearing his throat, “Let's hope that’s how the buyers feel as well.”
“I didn’t realize you meant to sell,” you tell him.
“It’s ours for now, but I mean to relocate to Summerhal,” he comments, “This house isn’t held long.”
That’s all he says on the matter. You don’t ask him to elaborate. You doubt he would anyway, he seems keen to ignore your curiosity. Aemond leads you down the stairs once more and out through the kitchen onto a stone patio. The view of God’s Eye is spectacular, it’s close enough to stand at the edge if only you run down the hill.
A garden disrupts the spacious greenery and you walk beside Aemond, struggling to keep up with his long strides.
“She’s here, she’s here!” a small voice calls, followed by a young girl bursting through the doors and out onto the patio.
“Jaehaera!” a woman calls, chasing after the young girl.
She races down the steps to where you stand with Aemond in the gardens. Cheeks rosy, smiling brightly, Jaehaera Targareyn boldly walks up in front of you. Her blue eyes are wide and she holds out a fist full of daisies.
“I’ve picked these for you,” she declares and you kneel to meet her height, “Talya said I needed to wait.”
You take the flowers from her, pressing them against your nose and inhaling their sweet scent. You’ve always loved daisies.
“Which you did not,” Tayla says, catching her breath as she arrives, “I’m sorry sir she didn’t-”
“It’s fine,” Aemond quips, arms tucked behind his back, “They needed to meet anyway.”
“It’s nice to meet you Jaehaera. I love your dress,” you tell her, and she twirls letting her baby-blue skirt billow around her.
“You’re much prettier than Kepus told me,” Jaehaera says, eyes drinking in every inch of your face.
“I told you I hadn’t any idea what she looked like,” Aemond gently corrects.
You smile, chest feeling warm at her kindness. You tell her your name and her nose crinkles.
“I’m going to call you Miss Gevie,” Jaehaera declares softly, “Because of how perfectly lovely you are.”
“Someone’s been practicing their High Valyrian,” Aemond remarks, “Have you had your lessons today?”
Jaehaera sighs, a very small sound, “Kessa kepus.”
“Syz riña,” Aemond says, a small smile appearing on his face before glancing at you, “You’ll have to meet Maelor as well.”
“Though he’s rather boring,” Jaehaera interrupts, “He only sleeps. I told muña I wanted a sister. I already have a brother.”
Your stomach flips at her words and you glance at Aemond. His expression is stoic, though Talya pales beside him. She steps forward, kneeling next to Jaehaera, who is busy counting the petals of the daisies you now hold.
“Jaehaera,” she says, forcing a small smile.
“What?”
Tayla grimaces, placing a hand on her shoulder, “We’ve talked about-”
“I want to see muña,” Jaehaera interrupts, shaking off Talya’s comforting hand. She glances at Aemond for help, though he offers none.
“She’s resting now….”
“I want to see her!” Jaehaera insists, louder this time lower lip wobbling.
“Why don’t you say goodbye to Talya first,” Aemond says, “She’s been very kind accompanying you here.”
“You’re leaving?” you ask the woman.
“I’m needed elsewhere, this was a very temporary arrangement,” she tells you.
“She works for my mother,” Aemond clarifies, nostrils flaring slightly, “She was unable to make the journey here.”
You remember reading about Alicent Hightower. You don’t see any of his mother in Aemond’s features. Where Alicent is soft, Aemond is sharp; nose straight and long, chin prominent. The word lethal comes to mind.
Aemond has looks to kill.
You shake your head trying to clear your thoughts.
“Can I show you my room?” Jaehaera asks, smiling once more.
“I’d love that,” you tell her, letting her place her small hand in yours and lead you back towards the house.
You glance behind you, watching as Aemond and Talya converse before Harrenhal swallows you once more.
“Miss Gevie,” Jaehaera asks, tugging her comforter up to her chin, “Are you going to stay with us for a long time?”
You stop picking up some of her toys from the floor. You’d been playing with dolls since after dinner and had just settled down to read a story before bed. You smile, sitting on the edge of her bed.
“I am,” you tell her, “Your uncle is working very hard and needs a little extra help.”
Jaehaera nods, taking in the words you speak. Her blue eyes watch you carefully, seeming wiser than her years.
“I like you,” she says softly, “Kepus likes you too. I can tell. He just doesn’t say so.”
You smile at her. Aemond was clearly softer in the presence of Jaehaera. He’d been more pleasant at dinner than when you’d first arrived. Helaena was absent from supper.
“You’re not going to leave? No matter what?”
You stroke some hair from her face, “I am not going anywhere, any time soon.”
Jaehaera scoots down, laying back against her pillow. You stand, pulling the covers up when something catches your eye. You reach under her pillow, removing a doll that was hidden there.
“Who’s this?” you ask, staring at the doll.
It’s barely a doll, more a stick of melted charred plastic, warped from the heat. You can see remnants of legs and arms, the path a flame must have licked up through the plastic; the hair burnt to the scalp. The face is unrecognizable.
Jaehaera reaches up, closing her small fingers around it.
“He stays here,” she tells you, “He likes to stay inside his castle.”
Geez. Creepy or what? You force a smile, letting her take the weird Barbie.
“Okay,” you tell her, “Goodnight Jaehaera.”
“Goodnight Miss Gevie,” she sing-songs.
“You know, you can just call me by my name,” you remind her.
“I like Miss Gevie better, it suits you,” she insists, yawning.
You find yourself yawning as well, and head to bed. The manor is quiet as you make your way to your room, tucking in for the night.
Sleeping in a new place can cause strange dreams.
A bloodcurdling scream tears through the halls of the sleepy manor, its icy tendrils ripping you from your dreams and back into your bed. You awake with a gasp, sucking in air as though you’d been held underwater, just breaking through the surface. Hand clutching your throat you sit up, hair sticking to the back of your neck from the layer of sweat that covers your body.
The house is quiet once more.
Breathing heavily you sit up in bed for a moment, trying to calm the rapid beating of your heart. You rise on shaky legs moving towards the door, and the ancient doorknob groans in protest as you turn it.
The hallway is dark, moonlight shining through the window at the end painting the floor with streaks of silver.
Maybe you were still dreaming.
But then, a low groan begins, the guttural sounds of a mourning mother’s wail. It washes over you like ice water and your stomach turns as the scream reaches its highest peak. Despite the alarm in your mind telling you to turn back into your room and hide under the covers, you race down the hallway towards the sound.
With each and every step toward the western wing, the screaming gets louder, broken up with deep sobs. You quicken your pace, bare feet padding against the carpet as you reach the source. The door you’d passed earlier, painted with flowers and twisting vines is open now, yellow light pouring into the hall from the lamp.
Aemond holds a girl in his arms--not a girl but a small woman; she’s frail, elbows poking against flesh like a starved baby bird, tears streaming down her ashy cheeks. Her silver hair is damp with perspiration, clinging to her face and neck as she clutches Aemond’s forearm. They’re in a heap together on the floor, Aemond’s arms tensed around her as he gently shushes her.
“Helaena…it's alright, it was just a dream,” he assures her, his voice softer and warmer than you’ve heard since meeting him.
He glances up at you, acknowledging your presence but saying nothing; his entire attention is on his sister.
“It’s never just a dream,” Helaena wails, nails digging into Aemond’s forearm, “Or maybe it is, maybe I’m asleep even now.”
A chill runs down your spine at Helaena’s words.
“Maybe I’ve been sleeping all along,” she continues, eyes glassy and her voice hoarse, “I could feel him, Aemond, it was so real.”
“I know,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss into her hair.
“I could feel him…in my arms….against my breast like when he was a baby…feeding, it was so real,” she says, her voice dropping into a whisper.
Helaena’s lips trembled, parted in a silent sob. The hand that does not anchor her to Aemond rests atop her breast, as though she can feel Jaehaerys against her chest even now.
“It’s alright dōna mandia,” Aemond murmurs, still stroking her hair. He rocks back and forth, starting a gentle pace to soothe her, “Go to the kitchen.” His voice is directed at you this time, your eyes meeting his. The tone he uses is still soft, and when you don’t move, he gestures toward the hall with a nod of his head.
“Do you hear him?” Helaena continues, “Running down the hall? Jaehaerys! Māzigon kesīr dōna valonqar!” (Come here, sweet boy).
“There’s no one there, Helaena,” Aemond soothes.
“I hear him,” she sobs, turning her face into Aemond’s chest, “Why can’t you hear him?”
Helaena’s sobs and questions are still ringing through your head as you leave the room, heading downstairs.
You make your way to the kitchen, standing in the dark, shocked for a moment before turning on the light. Helaena’s cries and pleas still echo in your mind as you fill the kettle left on the stove and turn on the gas burner. Searching through cabinets you find an array of handmade mugs, choosing a purple one with a twisted handle.
You rummage through some more drawers until you find some herbal tea, setting it beside the stove as you wait for the water to boil. You tap your fingers against the counter, a nervousness curling in your belly as you gaze out the window that leads to the backyard. You had known Helaena wasn’t well, but you didn’t realize just how serious it was.
You inhale a deep breath trying to steady yourself. It’s shaken you up quite a bit, hearing her agonized screams. Your hands tremble and you press your palms flat against the counter. A door slams from somewhere upstairs and you glance at the ceiling.
You look out the window once more, peering into the darkness. The God's Eye is just a still pool reflecting the light of the moon. A shadow moves behind you, reflecting in the glass and you gasp turning around.
“Seven hells!” you curse as Aemond walks into the kitchen, “You scared me.”
He doesn’t say anything, he just watches you for a moment, chest rising and falling with his breath. He must have also been asleep when Helaena’s terrors began as he’s clad in a black t-shirt and gray sweatpants, silver hair loosely braided down his back.
Ruby-red beads of blood blossom from the crescent-shaped marks on Aemond’s left forearm. You watch them swell into ruby marbles against his porcelain flesh before he grabs a rag on the counter, covering them.
“Are you alright?” you ask, as Aemond sits in a chair.
It’s almost like he doesn’t realize you’re talking to him; he takes a moment to process before he nods. You watch him as he stares at the table, tension rolling off his shoulders. The kettle begins to whistle and you quickly remove it from the stovetop, turning off the flames.
You pour your own mug before moving to the cabinet where you’d found it, retrieving a second. This one is green with gray streaks. Another handmade treasure, you’re sure.
You make Aemond a cup of tea, placing it in front of him before taking the seat next to him. His eye flickers toward the steaming cup. Though he hesitates for a moment, he wraps his long fingers against it, pulling it closer.
“It’s hot,” you tell him, as he lifts it to his lips.
“I don’t mind,” he murmurs. You’d likely burn your lip if you didn’t wait a few minutes. Aemond sighs contentedly, violet eye meeting yours.
“Thank you,” he says softly, “I should have told you…”
“It’s alright,” you assure him, “I figured she was grieving. You’d mentioned she’d been unwell.”
“The doctors say it's night terrors,” Aemond comments, taking another sip, “Due to the trauma she’s experienced.”
“That makes sense.”
“I’m meant to speak with her psychiatrist later this week,” he says, “She’s begun a new medication to help her sleep. I don’t think it’s been doing her any good.”
“Sometimes those things take time,” you tell him, trying to ease some of his distress. He merely hums in response, as though he’s heard it all before. You glance at the rag on his forearm, biting on your lower lip before deciding to speak again. “Do you have a first aid kit?”
Aemond nods, bringing a hand to his face, rubbing the bridge of his nose, and squeezing his eyes shut.
“Above the fridge,” he murmurs, not looking up.
Rising from your seat, you retrieve the small kit, and place it on the table in front of you. You reach out toward him, tentatively moving the rag from his forearm, revealing the crescent-shaped marks. They’ve begun to clot, and you fold the rag into a small square, placing it on the table beside you. You dig for a few bandaids settling for the smallest ones.
“She had nowhere else to go,” Aemond says, more to himself than to you as you place the bandages on his arm, “Jaerhara, and Maelor they need to be with family. There’s no one else. Nowhere else.”
“They’re lucky to have you,” you tell him, pulling your hands away. You reach for your mug, placing your hands around it and letting the warmth seep into you.
Aemond hums, not answering, though he seems unconvinced by your statement.
“I mean it,” you tell him, “I can see how much you care about them. And your sister.”
Aemond meets your eye once more, his gaze softening.
“She is the best person,” he tells you, his voice even and calm, “The best mother….the best sister.”
There’s pain hidden behind the words that he speaks; you can hear it coating his voice.
“She’s just in one of her hard times,” he assures you, “She goes through phases. Not..not wanting to see Maelor…it comes and goes.”
You reach for his hand. In the heat of the moment, you’re not sure what else to do. There are no more words of comfort to offer him. Your hand fits in his perfectly, resting on top of the table. His palm is warm, the skin surprisingly calloused. Your lips part, a soft gasp slipping free at the feeling of his hand in yours.
Eyes wide, you smile softly at him before squeezing comfort into his hand. Aemond doesn’t squeeze back, but he doesn’t pull his hand away either. You sit like that for several minutes, neither of you moving.
“Your tea will get cold,” Aemond eventually murmurs, breaking the silence.
Your hand slips out of his grasp, the sudden emptiness making you shiver. Clutching the mug, you bring it to your lips, sipping carefully.
It’s already cold.
How long have you been sitting here?
Aemond is watching you still, as you lower the mug. He stands then, taking both mugs to the sink.
“It’s late,” he comments, “We should get some sleep.”
You nod, standing. Aemond pushes into your chair, walking beside you back upstairs. He turns toward the western wing.
“You’re not going to sleep?” you ask, unable to help yourself.
“I am,” Aemond says, turning slightly, “I prefer to stay in my study.”
“Oh,” you comment, “Well ... .goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he says before disappearing down the hallway.
You return to your room, lying underneath the covers trying to get warm when you come to a realization.
That was the first time Aemond had called you by your name.

𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ teen!nanami headcanons
love my emo king so i decided to make headcanons for him because love himso sosooo MUCH <3 I am obsessed with nanami I am sorry guys for the amount of nanami but he is my beloved and my hyperfixation wooooooooooo
lmk if i should make an emo teen nanami as ur bf headcanon ill gladly do it sweetie pies
He is much quieter as a child and rarely speaks. I believe he will be more reserved as a teenager, not because he is shy, but because he dislikes talking to strangers. He is distant, but not unfriendly.
Haibara is the only person who is allowed in his room, and I do not make the rules.
Owned an iPod/iPod touch (even though Nanami is the Samsung king) and he would stream his little emo bands.
As a teenager, he appears to be more immature and irrational, displaying difficulty in controlling his emotions sometimes. Despite his calm exterior, he is still a teenage boy so he has regular outbursts here and there.
HATED IT when he tried one of Shoko’s cigarettes; he most likely took one puff and began to cough as though he was going to die.
Sassy king who rolls his eyes and emo hair flips at least 7 times per second, 24/7.
“Nanami, can you do that thing?”
"Do not bother me at this time, Gojo."
“OH MY GOD YOU DID IT.”
"What did I do."
"The hair flip thing... hahaha you need to cut your bangs."
"I prefer to keep it this way so I can focus on you with one eye and spare the other from seeing more of your face."
Haibara is an extrovert who encourages him to attend events and socialize with others.
His backpack is tidy. His books are neatly organized, and his papers are not crammed together.
He was forced to go to karaoke rooms with Shoko, Geto, Gojo, and Haibara, where he would sit and listen to them sing loudly.
"C'mon, Nanami... sing!"
"..."
“Please?"
"..."
It turns out he was singing all along, albeit softly and quietly, while they sang along loudly to the screen lyrics.
He spaces out a lot when people talk to him because he just wants to go home.
Haibara is subtly affectionate towards him, wrapping his arm around his shoulder like many guys do. He doesn't push him off, but the other guy freezes and maintains some distance.
He once woke up from a nap and found himself wearing eyeliner, black nail polish, and eyeshadow. He immediately ran out to scold Gojo (it wasn't just him) (but he secretly liked it).
"Gojo, what the fuck is this?"
"This is your culture!"
"Please refrain from touching me while I am sleeping."
“Hey! Who said it was only me?”
“Jesus Christ.”
Probably got a double helix piercing (that eventually healed when he became an adult) (sorry guys).
(Though he still has his earlobe piercings as an adult, he just never really wears earrings anymore. Though you can see the various holes.)
Geto accompanied him to get piercings, and despite feeling nervous at first, he ended up loving the experience and feeling badass.
"It feels good, right?"
"Oh, yeah, I suppose," he mumbled, trying to suppress a broad smile. As he arrived at his dorm, a dorky grin spread across his face. He stood in front of the mirror for several hours, hyping himself up.
Listens to My Chemical Romance, Nirvana, Van Halen, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Linkin Park, Green Day, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, and Paramore. And more. :)
He would probably like gothic characters from cartoons or shows, like Raven from Teen Titans.
If you quietly make your way into his dorm room while he's listening to music, you'll catch him singing out the lyrics to his beloved emo songs. As the music moves him, he'll start air guitaring and air drumming with fervor. However, if he catches you witnessing his private performance, you'll see a flicker of embarrassment cross his face.
Gojo once tried to dye one of his hair strands purple or blue, but he failed. Instead of turning the strand the desired color, it only lightened his hair slightly, resulting in a lighter shade of blonde that looked like gray hair.
"Gojo, you made me look like a grandfather. I should've done it myself.”
"Looks great on you, Nanami! Fits you too since you kind of act like a grandpa.”
"Oh you, son of a—"
He secretly owns a Tamagotchi named Helena after remembering it is a My Chemical Romance song.
Wept when they split up.
Has secretly attended several concerts, raves, and gatherings, enjoying the kindness and energy of the events.
Has previously used an Ouija board with Gojo, Geto, and Haibara, and the "spirit" liked him.
He goes to the Japanese equivalent of a Hot Topic to get his clothes.
He smells earthy and musky because he is emo, and he probably has a cologne fragrance bottle shaped like a skull.
He rarely posted on MySpace, and when he did, it was only about his music and book reviews.
Likely wore a fake lip piercing, a silver skull necklace, and one of those spikey emo bracelets.
Read Scott Pilgrim comics for a while.
He was not too dry, so he used emoticons like "-_-" "-.-" "._. ".-." "^_^"
In his spare time, he enjoys reading books about horror and mystery.
Owned a black Nintendo DS and always handed it to Haibara so he could play with it. Was not upset when Haibara accidentally dropped it in the water, but was sad that he lost his Pokemon progress.
Never had a genuine crush on someone, though when he does he becomes shy and awkward around the person he has a crush on, often finding himself avoiding them like the plague. Whenever he catches sight of them, uncertainty clouds his mind, nerves all over the place.
Despite his efforts to suppress his feelings, they only seem to intensify. This is his first experience with a serious crush, and his initial reaction is to try to shake off the emotions, but he soon realizes that he can't - he's simply head over heels in love.
Whenever he sees them, he does a cute, dorky thing - he goes to his mirror, fixes his bangs, and hypes himself up. He sprayed more cologne than usual, coughed a little, and made sure his skull necklace, helix piercings, and slight eyeshadow looked good. He gives himself several minutes for a pep talk because he still gets so nervous.
He fidgets a lot, constantly finding ways to occupy his hands even when he appears outwardly calm. It's as if he can't help but engage in some form of repetitive movement, whether it's tapping his fingers, twirling a pen, or adjusting his sleeves.
He also stammers a bit sometimes especially when talking to someone he likes.
Talks to Haibara about how he feels most of the time. Out of everyone he trusts Haibara.
He draws on himself when he is bored. He intended to get a tattoo, so he drew on himself to see how it would look.
He has a journal, emphasizing that it's not a diary, where he writes down his emotions. He finds solace in jotting down his innermost feelings as he often struggles to express them verbally.
In his journal, not a diary, he vents a lot. He is frustrated with himself because he is so bad at expressing his emotions. When he wants to, he can't, and he just pushes people away, which he despises.
"Sometimes I wonder why. Why do I have to be like this? I do want to talk to people and express my emotions to them, but I could never. It genuinely scares me, and that is something I want to fix about myself."
Owns several band shirts and wears them to bed. When he is older, they're smaller on him. I wonder why.
When he's out with Haibara and the group, he always wears his headphones and drifts off while listening to music.
“NA-NA-MIIIII!”
*pretends not to hear gojo*
In the modern world, he would be the quiet student who consistently gets top grades, sits at the back of the class, and rarely participates.
When someone shares the same interests as him he tries not to look too excited but ultimately fails.
As a teenager, he adamantly refuses to pursue a romantic relationship but secretly desires one to fulfill his need for affection.
Thus, he spends his time reading romantic novels, gaining insights into how the male protagonists treat their significant others. This newfound knowledge inspires him to learn how to treat his future significant other.
Even though he is mature for his age, he sometimes wishes he had been raised differently. He genuinely feels like he is wasting his youth by not spending more time being a teenager.
Converse + Vans are his specialty and they’re all beat up.
He sees Geto as a fashion inspiration because he is another emo king.
When he's not in uniform, he enjoys wearing oversized, tucked-in T-shirts paired with sleek black pants and a studded belt. His fingers are adorned with multiple rings, and he complements this look with a sleek black watch.
He always spends an extra dollar to buy someone something from the vending machine. Need a soda? He gotcha.
He always seems to be munching on something, whether it's the crunch of Doritos or potato chips. However, he doesn't seem to have as much of a sweet tooth.
an emo king who deserves the world
a/n: i love my goat

Miko, Rag, Jack with predicon , liked predicon holoform is human but it best describes as an old person who have highest authority in the Yakuza/Mafia, as the kids comes over to visit the autobots the predicon made traditional Japanese food and helping them with work and also telling them if they all get a B or higher in their test they'll get something nice for them as a reward
Like any grandparents would
Hmmmm, i love this. Let's hope you enjoy this also.
TFPKids x Predicon Reader
When (Y/N) joined team prime, it was quite the surpise. Especially for the kids of team prime. Since meeting (Y/N), she has become a second guardian for them.
When ratchet finally developed a device that makes Team Prime have human forms, also known as HaloForms, the kids got to see (Y/N)'s haloform.
What they weren't expected was an old lady who looked in their early 60's, had a sweet voice and gray hair, and seemed to already have candies that only grandmas have. (If you know, you know)
Even though (Y/N) was old and not able to help Team prime with fights, she helped out by watching the kids. She did not mind one bit, though.
When the kids get to base, (Y/N) asked them about their day, checks their grades and helps them with homework that they have.
When they are sick, (Y/N) offers meals she knows how to cook. Soups that haven't been heard before that went known from the years of people passing it down or forgetting it.
(Y/N) was called dragon granny. She was happy with that name and took it with pride.
Jack
Jack came to base after a long day.
He was stressed and exhausted, and he failed a history test because he just couldn't understand how Rome fell.
When (Y/N) noticed Jack acting different, she asked what was wrong.
When he explained, (Y/N) told him none worries and offered to teach him.
By teaching him, she means taking him back to her cave were she has artifacts from diffrent points from human history.
There, she showed diffrent artifacts and the story behind them while explaining the story behind Rome.
Jack passed with flying colors when he retook the test.
Miko
When miko came to base, she started ranting about an old Japanese soup that haven't been made in thousands years since people forgot how to make it.
While she talked to bulkhead about this, (Y/N) over heard and asked Miko if she ment the soup oden.
Miko explained she wants to learn it since only a selective amount of humans know the recipe and it's slowly disappearing from history.
(Y/N) explained that she knows how to cook it. Since she has been on earth since 25BCE (don't correct me because I actually don't know if that's a real date so.)
For the next 3 days, (Y/N) showed miko how to make oden and made sure she remmbers.
Miko was so happy about it that she taught her parents back home.
RAPH
Raphael went to (Y/N) when he found out (Y/N) has been on earth so long she has seen the rise and fall of all civilizations.
Raphael asked questions about China, Japan, India, Europe, even Mexico.
He asked about how the civilizations back then acted and what they used in everyday life since he wanted to compare today's items
(Y/N) told she can just show him and brings him to her cave.
There, she shows him all the swords, old pots, armor, foods, etc. That was from back then that were offerings to her.
Since back then, people thought she was a god.
Raphael wrote down everything and definitely made his day.
