For me, mc is absolutely disappointing in reacting to caleb. Cant always be 1 with her but the whole story she reacted wrong for me being devot all the time and just eating all with no further things. Hungary Grand Prix, 2023.

Max wasn’t feeling like himself.

The car upgrades were supposed to be great, not to make him struggle and happy a shitty day, which meant shitty questions, passive aggressive press conference trying to not look so annoyed, but it didn’t help that the press was painstakingly working to get the worst angles with furrowed eyebrows and waving off strangers trying to aggressively approach him.

Of course, it didn’t help you weren’t there to hold his hand walking around the paddock, forcing his blue eyes to focus on your calming smile and the inevitable lovestruck expression plastered on his face. 

And yes, he was letting out the fact he didn’t leave Monaco in the best of terms. He’d grown accustomed to you tagging along to most races, but when you informed him you wouldn’t be able to make it to the last two races before summer break he didn’t take it the best way. 

Yes, Max understood you were needed at your job and deadlines were way more difficult to meet with changing time zones, bumpy flights and noisy paddocks and hospitalities, but it didn’t change the fact that he needed you and his selfish self really needed you cheering for him, even if you’d seen him win enough times already. 

In conclusion, it was safe to say he didn’t really feel like putting on a genuine smile or goof around with interviewers who’d ask the same questions while Christian tells him off for looking unapproachable. 

The only thing that turned the corners of his mouth was a WhatsApp attachment from you, Jimmy and Sassy sleeping with the F1 channel on full display on the TV. 

It wasn’t long until Twitter and Instagram fan accounts came to the conclusion you weren’t there with Max, creating a small discussion with some people arguing that it didn’t make sense you’d tagged along to places like Baku or Melbourne and not go to a race less far away and arguably one of the most popular tracks of the season, while other people defended you saying you had your own life apart from being Max’s girlfriend, you had a job, conferences to attend amongst other things, so it was ridiculous to expect you to be there for every race, no matter how much you loved Max. 

You don’t know whether it was the fact you didn’t post a story on Instagram celebrating Max’s win or the fact Max hadn’t been his best self, struggling with the car, losing control over the tiniest thing and just losing focus overall the fuel for some fans to start speculating about the status of your relationship.

Last race before summer break meant most people on the paddock were a turmoil of emotions between the desire for the weekend to be completely over and wishing to do the best possible job before the break.

Max convinced himself he was coming into the weekend relaxed, knowing he’d have to put his best strategies, talent and focus for Spa, but a few free weeks were right around the corner so he could recharge with you, staying in bed for the entire morning before getting up to get ready to go out, maybe arriving back to the apartment drunk and giggly only to regret everything during the morning, but with the knowledge you were going to do the exact same.

He was facetiming you when he came across lots of fans wanting his attention, asking for pictures, until someone asked for you and Max pretended he didn’t listen, not wanting to answer things about his relationship, and the woman that asked wasn’t even sharp enough to catch your face on full display on his screen. 

Had Max known the chaos it would ensue not answering the simple question about you, maybe he’d reconsider, especially since Lando and him jumped from the paddock to a helicopter waiting to take them to the closing night of Tomorrowland where Martin Garrix was closing the last weekend.

You were sitting on your bed when Victoria sent a thread on Twitter (or X? or Threads? it’s confusing) pointing at every proof and detail about your supposed break up, ironically asking if you had something to inform the family since Max hadn’t said anything. 

With widened eyes and unable to contain the urge to see what people were saying about Max and you, two hours later you were still reading gossip sites and didn’t even hear the door of the penthouse opening with both Sassy and Jimmy running away from the feet of the bed. 

“Is this the welcome I get?” Max’s voice announced his arrival, catching you by surprise and throwing the phone in the air. 

“Fuck, Max! You scared the shit out of me, I hate you!” You laughed, finally realizing he was right in front of you and kneeling on the bed to attach your arms around his neck, allowing Max to grab you by the thighs and spin you around while you left small kisses on his cheeks.

“What were you reading? You looked very focused,” Max carefully placed you back on the mattress before throwing his body and groaning at the feeling of his muscles relaxing.

“Did you know we broke up?” You questioned your boyfriend whose blue eyes opened as much as they could, eyebrows raised and slightly moving his head in confusion. 

Max was confused but still demanded an answer on what was going on as he watched the corners of your mouth lifting and quiet giggles leaving them. 

“Look, it’s full of theories because I didn’t attend the last races and after you went with Lando to watch Martin, some fans started drawing their own conclusions!”

“Are they insane? Speculating about other people’s love lives is so rude, and just because I didn’t answer a question about you which I never do? People are crazy!” Max exclaimed on an irritated tone, but quickly caught your eyes, making him realize the people commenting were doing the exact same thing as you, just on a larger scale. 

“Baby, I think this time we are the drama…” You stated before the bedroom became quiet.

It was just Max and you staring at each other, recalling every time you eavesdropped a conversation that clearly wasn’t meant for either of you to hear, or discussed different theories on who had cheated, who had broken up with whom, why some partners were so young or looked almost identical. 

“Schatz, I am not going to lie,” Max started with a frown and serious face before continuing. “I am very proud of us” After letting it out Max started laughing, his cheeks flushing and placing his hand over his mouth to try to stifle the sounds. 

“Baby, this definitely means we made it!”

It was bound to happen, you were meant to eventually become a source of spectacle if you enjoyed gossiping about other people’s lives so much. 

After laughing to the brink of tears, Max kissed your lips; softly, slowly and sensually, making it hard to separate but he stared right into your eyes and asked you in all seriousness: “Should we feed the gossip? Wouldn’t it be fun?”

im watchin the vod of what jaiden is saying and i fully understand her decision qsmp can be very overwhelming on the audience so i cant imagine how heavy and how pressuring it can feel on her as a creator. im so glad she gave us qjaiden in 2023 and dedicated so much time to it.

imagine being Shen Jiu while Qing Jing Peak was burning to the ground. He quickly notices the smell of smoke from far away. its a scent he's intimately familiar with. Then comes the smell of burning bodies.

He escapes the fire of course, he's also extremely familiar with doing that and perhaps maybe he even searches for Ning YingYing. Completely unaware that shes on the side of the people burning down Qing Jing Peak.

He panics when he cant find her, finally he sees her outside right next to a face he hadn't seen since the Immortal Alliance Conference 5 years ago. To his relief Ning YingYing is there too, maybe watching the flames with a glazed over expression.

Then before he can really process anything, he's taken to Huan Hua palace and put on trial.

He sees another familiar face at the trial. Qiu Haitang. When was it that he realized it was all over for him? That he could no longer be saved escape? Was it when his peak burned down? Was it when was taken into trial? Was it when nobody defended him against the crimes he was being accused off? Or was it when Luo Binghe dropped Xuan Sus shards Infront of him?

For how long did he believe he could survive?

I think he realized when Ning Yingying turned on him. That’s his little girl, his baby. He raised her, he indulged her, he never raised a hand against her. And for so long she was the only truly good thing he could come back to on Qing Jing. But now she chooses the beast over him? She doesn’t smile at him, doesn’t tug his sleeves?

And when the accusations of misconduct towards her were brought up, I think Shen Jiu came to the conclusion that he should be dead. That everyone at this trial was right to point fingers, right to call him the scum that he was. I think if he could have he would’ve swallowed Xiu Ya right there if he could.

lu guang is the character that makes us question our morals. which is great. he's our protagonist, but he also does things that are "evil" to save cxs. i remember someone saying he's amoral. i agree. and its ok to support him.

but it's also ok to despise him after a certain answer from a recent interview that . it depends on every person. i have to admit, i also despise him a little.

in a recent interview, the director (i believe) said that changing the timeline caused emma's ending and ltc's appearance to change.

perhaps this is bcs i was thought it this way, but bcs ltc appearance changed, it implies that it affected qian jin, chen bin, liu min, etc to change too. (i was thought event 1 can become the cause to event 4, 5, etc... maybe thats also the butterfly effect? idk!)

now i want to focus on emma's ending. if emma dying is caused by lu guang changing the timeline, its normal to be mad at him! heck, maybe u might even hate him. like i imagine being in emma's parents' shoes. imagine someone one day reveals that a guy who changed the timeline for their lover caused ur daughter to die, i'd be so mad! yes, its unintentional. but as a human, it's normal to get mad at him! how dare u change the point in time where my daughter's fate will change?

Are we sure demons are even mammals? Their human forms are for hiding among humans, so they might not have the less obvious functions. We know Lucifer had 12 wings, but his angel form only shows six, implying that that is at least one more "truer" form, which could also be the case with demons. The truest form of a native demon might use an alternate method to feed their young.

this actually got me thinking more about it, so I started to think about their demon forms since that would probably give more answers,

so lucifer and mammon are birds, peacock and crow, so they would tend to eggs, so no need for breast feeding birds

levi is a serpent, yes there is sea life that are mammals, but sea snakes are def not one of them, so fertilizing eggs in bunches doesn't require breasts even after hatching.

asmo is a scorpion, I have NO CLUE how scorpions work when it comes to their young but i know for a fact that anything with an exoskeleton.. most of the time isn't a mammal. so again, eggs.

and beel is a bug, I forget if its fact that hes a cicada? thats just what I remember, and cicadas arent mammals so again, eggs

now i tried to search for what satan is since its really unclear(at least to me), if he was a bird like his dadmom then he would probably have wings, but he IS wing. and when I searched I was told unicorn and wolf(ofc his rebel teen emo ass would be a wolf) and obviously belphie is a goat/cow thing, so technically the anti lucifer league should be mammals just going off of their demon forms,

but again no nipples, belphie makes sense cause again, former angel, popped into existance, no mommy for him, but satan was born from lucifer.. technically organically...? (still cant believe mpreg basically happened) but lucifer probably was never intended to have kids from his own body so no nipples, and again satan came from wings, which yeah would all make sense, but then again I circle back to Dia

and I can also imagine that demons dont have a big powerful form like a "be not afraid" angel does, so lucifer and the brothers prolly had a down grade in the scary physical form factor. prolly another layer to their punishments. (ofc demons still prolly have a big scary demon form, just not as big as a flaming swords with wings and eyes and a booming voice)

and going onto other demons, I can imagine reproduction is very diverse in the devildom. demons who are more reptilian, demons that are birds, cold blooded creatures, anything that wouldn't give live birth would lay eggs, do silly little dances to attract mates, look pretty to attract mates, ect. and obviously demons that are goats, cows, deer, cat, dog, would give live birth. so maybe nipples with demons are like freckles? some people have them and other people just dont.

BUT, then again, demons could have only 1-2 animals that relate to their sin, demons of Greed could be crows and foxes, envy is snakes and sea creatures, ect. but then again mephisto is a thing, and he's a demon of pride, so that would make him a peacock like lucifer, but with a lack of a canon demon form its hard to say, but mephisto already shares a hairstyle and boyfriend with lucifer so it would just be mean to have him share even more with him. but than again he could also be a lion? but I dont think that would fit that little gay rich boy at all. But I think it would just be more interesting if a demons form isn't always directly related to their sin so they can be any animal.

all in all, the only thing I think I could come to a conclusion with is that angels aren't mammals. and ofc they wouldnt gain nipples after becoming demons cause how odd would that be? "NOO MY SISTERS DEAD AND IVE BEEN CAST DOWN TO HELL- what are those things on my chest." and with demons it could probably vary from being mammals and not being mammals. but I could imagine its like, 80% of the devildom lays eggs and the other 20% doesnt. but all in all I think demons can do either or, it just depends on what they want to do, get freaky and then give birth or lay an egg and sit on it till it hatches, but I'm sure no demon would willingly give birth if they had the option to just pop out an egg.

On that note, it fucks me up imagining that the Krang situation would make his brothers come to the bone-chilling conclusion that like, oh, Raph actually has a lot more strength than even they might have been aware of. Like I write Leo in particular after the movie as realizing that Raph has very much been purposefully holding himself back in combat situations, because he knows exactly how much damage he could do with that amount of weight and strength on his side.

Like, okay, you could say that it's born from them having to learn that sort of tactic in order to take him down in sparring, but it really says a lot when Leo's fight against him in the movie is mostly Leo either borderline desperately going on defense or just getting flung around like a ragdoll. a while ago i made a post joking abt how americans are waiting for a booth with clipboards to sign up for the revolution, but now i have an actual term for it.

there's been lots of conversation around Kendrick's performance at the superbowl, and i cant lie, i really enjoyed it. After digesting it a little bit and listening to some other people, I do wonder about this performance being a state sanctioned revolution.

I wonder how this famous and historical moment will play out in history books. I wonder how Kendrick's message will be (or already has been) sanitized to deny how dire the situation is. Just like they do with MLK, Malcom X, and other revolutionary leaders.

And again, as you said, snippet doesn't have a name, because Helldiver got such a traumatic blow about their death that it rewired them. (Kind of). Like.. IMAGINE not even remembering the name of the person you put your hope on. That would personally drive me crazy, speaking of experience too.

Now, moving onto the softer stuff, I'm glad each helldiver has something that reminds them of how they are alive, human. Living and not (yet) dead.

-I think that Boddho is an empty nesting eldritch mother. That she either is like... Illuvatar from Silmarillion (from what my husbands told me) where she came or grew from earth and wanted to make specificslly humans, but made the worms and brides and shabnaks first at her version of the Valor, or their job is to prepare the world for her true children (humans). even as "excess materials" shabnaks excess bones, worms excess muscle, and brides excess blood. But she didnt expect them to grow out of their need for her. Steppe life does eventually evolve towards integrating with the settlement and she resents creations who can create towers to heaven without her. Hence plague. But again, boddho creates creatures who are individually sentient. Even some of the proto kin seem rebellious. So I imagine the plague too, is sentient with its own ideas and goals. Poor boddho seems a bit immature and frustrated that yes. Eventually, even the plague and kin will want to grow and elvove without her.

-or shes already dead. Love the dead boddho theory, thanks andrey stamatin. That maybe everyone who hears boddho is just hearing her talk from centuries ago cause shes to unfathomable and eldritch creature to speak to. Neat! I think it doesnt hold up in 2, since you see her (someones?) Heart beating but cool.

-i do think the proto humans have preferences but dont know what a preference even is. Theres obviously (in p2, i know p1 was more an obvious patriachal straightfoward thing) brides who prefer townsfolk and brides who prefer the steppe. There are worms who like the city people they make friends with, and shabnaks that feel fear but aspire to grow ans meet and learn langauge.

Daniil Dankovsky

-trans daniil just makes so much damn sense to me its stupid like its perfect. At first I thought maybe he was amab and experiencing gender envy at the women in the town, coming to a conclusion he's in denial of why he favors their company or feels a sort of kinship with. To me, women are to Daniil what children are to Artemy. His bound in 1 as the uptopians is eh to me, but yet anytime he is speaking with Lara or Yulia, even Aspity, there is a understanding, condescending, even familial, protective frustration he has thats so complicated.

-to me that works so well as his journey as afab. Only child. Born to a young dead mother and a military man who didnt want much to do with him.

-I imagine him pursuing college and medical school for a year before his father dies and he drops out to transition. Ive seen other fans of transkovsky say he invented hrt himself, but if I think about how medical was approached or even philosphized about in patho or the older days I think he approached it by killing singular nerves and doing invasive surgey. They werent super great at the hormone or brain level and its just more... danils style to think to himself "i will literally kill what i dont need or want" (and then wearing uterus trophies on his neck because he cant brag out loud)

-which leads me to my other headcanon that this secret invasive self experiments and his success at splicing himself gave him a bit of cancer or a debilitating "mystical" disease he refuses as mystical. While i do love daniil being pompous about defeating death just cause hes pompous, I also love the idea that he wants all his cake and flowers. He succeeded in defeating gender, birth, orientation, and now its making him die? How unfair. How horrible. No one will steal his time at finally being himself not even death.

-thanatica I see as a mask over that research, too. Cause he can not come out and show himself off to substantiate his achievements. The medical world would be too distracted by the social ques to care that, hey, I've stopped cell generation. I've propugated cells. I've made parts of a body grow that stopped in the womb. Its a breakthrough he cant discuss so hes hauling in dead bodies and reanimating skin with the same methods or stacing off tuberculosis with the same technique hes using to stave off his death disease and it give him all this internal, unvalidated, seething frustration that he cant just scream what a fucking genuis he is. (He does anyway but without that to back him up)

-I think he joins the military for a year or two and assumes the identity of a dankovsky son. And the military stupidly, weirdly, validates him in his identity but also hardens him the way war does. The way death does when you have soldiers dying on your medical table. Then goes back and finishes his degree before opening thanatica.

-i hc Daniil as a messy bisexual. I think pre transistion he was always attracted to women actually, and that also motivated him to a smaller degree of well, why not get married to a lovely lady. Why not be the head of my household. Why not conquer society and genetics and death and enjoy things I could not myself feel comfortable to portray, but want to covet.

-you know and he gets to busy to actually finally indulge in that and then gets to town on ghorkan and meets artemy burakh and is like, wait, no, stop, this isnt the plan dammit.

-but I do think also that's complicated when it comes to sex and love. I can identify aapects or a gradient of a sexuality to him. Not necessarily demisexual, but his identity and his mind can get in the way of desires or even, that it takes a specific amount of vulnerability that he avoids. So maybe it's trauma or his being on the spectrum. So in his journey of self-discovery, maybe he's been a lot of whatever "labels." I think so much of labels and identity play into his vast acknlowdgement of philosophy too. Why talk about sex at all if we arent also talking about society and death and culture and etc (que daniil stopping his one night stand mid sentence to lecture about the differences of breeding expectations in different economic structures or population.)

-I ship daniil with Burakh mostly, (stamatins and block too at times) but I also ship him with the Marble Nest bride at the stillwater, who I guess is like a projected OC of mine. (Shes a special model, one of the only ones wearing jewelry and also one of the only kin whose sweet to daniil? She also seems critical of her own culture "weddings are a sad thing for us". I have a million headcanons and ideas for them two, who I think he names her Theralydice (thera for theraputrix the assitants to aescluipis or healers, therayl for feral or wild, and dice for custome or law as well as a common form for femininenames) Something heretically latin and inappropriate and artemy shakes him stupid for naming a bride at all- "but how will I refer to the only reasonable one burakh") but I wont bore you with all that crack.

Sorry this has already gotten so long so ill just list random other stuff.

-I think burakh is a man of little words not cause he's shy or reserved but because hes very smart about his town. He knows that information and gossip spread like wildfire. And stating his ideas, thoughts, plans, TO ANYONE so plainly (as dankovsky does) means in another twenty minutes 6 other people might find out and stop him. It's in his best interest to act stupid and complacent. It's the best idea to shrug at young vlad and go "idk maybe" because saying yes or no would maybe mean making an enemy.

-I think there are two eldritch horros now one. Aside from boddho i think the mistresses are hearing something else out there in the ether. Same as those whispers to peter about building the polyhedron. Boddho from this planet or not, something in that void is wanting to come in and use her or the earths power to its own end. Town on Ghorkon seems like an open battery everyone wants to suck dry. And while the kains can talk a big talk about plans for nina or simon, I wouldnt be suprised if someone or something kicked their souls out and took over for itself.

-I 1000 percent think Aspity is the first outbreak in human form if that wasn't already established. But I also dont think clara is. But I do love the idea that it's possible to do. In the same way, maybe annaAngell occupies Willows body? Hmm.

-also all yes to everyone is just actually dolls, but then wheres the fun in hc-ing the world lore???

Wait why is it that in the famous “bthump” page the panels are put together in a way that gives the illusion that guts and griffith are facing each other when griffith’s heart goes bthump. We know guts is fighting zodd at that moment he cant be having a staring contest with griffith he has his back to him anyway. I feel like if u show that page out of context to anyone they’ll assume the two are looking at each other. Or am i going crazy? I mean i usually wouldn’t read too much into such a thing but i feel like miura actively uses paneling to convey certain messages throughout the story. He still could’ve just had a silly moment there idk

Because Guts is what's making his heart go bthump!

I have a post about the paneling specifically here, actually, but I'll get into it again because I feel like that explanation could be more detailed lol.

So basically they're positioned like that, Guts on one side of the panel, Griffith on the other, as a parallel and contrast to the final panel immediately before that page:

Griffith is on the left, fetus is on the right. Fetus is Griffith's theory, or hope. I came here to test my heart and make sure I don't have feelings, and oops looks like I just failed that test while watching Guts fight a stronger opponent, notably similar circumstances to the first time I ever saw him. Hmm gotta be that fetus, surely these feelings aren't real.

This is a conclusive counterpoint to Griffith's argument, stemming from reality rather than Griffith's thoughts. It's the final page of the chapter so it has greater weight than Griffith's fetus theory. It's composed similarly, Griffith on the left and the other possible source of feelings on the right - but Guts right there, and the fetus is only Griffith's thoughts, so Guts has more weight in that sense too.

And that final "......... bthump" is the perfect capstone, because it's essentially saying that Guts is causing that heartbeat. The final word of this chapter is Griffith's heart beating when faced with Guts.

The panel is composed like this despite not reflecting how Griffith is viewing Guts in reality, imo to hammer home the point that Guts specifically is the source of feelings. It's not the excitement of the fight, it's not Zodd, it's not even concern for Guts' life necessarily, it's just Guts, and the raw intensity Guts exhibits in the middle of a fight, the same thing that drew Griffith to him when they first met. This panel especially emphasizes their gazes - Griffith is gazing at Guts, but Guts isn't gazing at Griffith - but this could also suggest that Griffith would like Guts to be looking at him like that, with that same intensity.

It also parallels the two of them, the way they each get one half of a face. In the context of Griffith's singularity as The Absolute, and Guts' own tempation towards becoming a monster that becomes especially pronounced during fights, and the constant emphasis on power dynamics and the two of them wanting to be equals throughout the story, this arguably suggests the potential for the two of them to still be equals in ways that actually matter, despite Griffith being a god now. Guts humanizes Griffith here by making his heart beat, Griffith monsterizes Guts by enraging him.

And to be perfectly honest, I don't think it's a coincidence that Guts looks particularly good in this panel either lol. Guts here is essentially what Griffith is imagining he looks like as he faces Zodd. And it's something Miura does regularly imo. Characters become more attractive when they're the objects of certain gazes. I have a long post about Griffith from Guts' perspective here, but Guts also gets this treatment from Griffith's perspective during the rescue. There are probably heterosexual examples too, but I don't recall them offhand because that's not what I'm reading Berserk for. That second one is arguably half heterosexual anyway lol.

So yeah, basically imo the reason is: to emphasize Guts as the cause of Griffith's feelings, to parallel them, and to add some homoeroticism.

Gregory, a man who used to be a dragon (fairy chimera in the shape of red dragon, to be exact) who Veronica and Charlie had a duel with, came to Rene's house after the duel to have negotiation with and also to meet Veronica and give her a gift - an extremely poisonos flower, trapped in a glass ball. Very extravagant and expensive gift...

He said something about the flower being as beautiful as dnagerous, just like Veronica (i dont remember the exact quote lol). Because during the battle at the duel Veronica was able to notice his weak spot on his neck and was attacking him furiously there, so he probably thought of her as a dangerous oponent (he didnt know she was almost out of blood points and probably wouldnt last long unless Charlie hasn't unleashed the demon from the sword he had but shhh)

In The Stronghold

The smell is bad. The feeling of your skin is next to hell. Especially since all the bugs left itchy and bleeding skin. You sigh again as the orc that took you here runs a rag with cold water over your back, shocking the bites and scratches into not feeling like something was still hurting you.

You shiver, and he is unable to help you unless you want to itch and scratch again. Last time he left you alone, you itched until your leg started bleeding. The feeling stopped but now you had a bigger gash that the orc fussed over, grunting and scraping his teeth as he wrapped your hands in cloth and covered your injuries again.

Another orc comes in, yelling at him about something. You cant understand but he yells back, placing a hand on the pelt you lay on.

Is it about you? Why are they yelling so much? Their voices start to hurt your ears, so you put your head on the pelt and cover them, hoping you arent why they’re fighting so hard.

“Rak’ka, where is- why is the human restrained?” Shwola asks, blinking emptily at Rak’ka as the human pouts at the wall, shivering lightly.

“It was itching again, and almost started scratching the muscle from their bone. So, for now they sit with; how do you say, mittens?” He smirks a bit, liking the word.

“Rak’ka, the human is already fearful, why would you do that?” “Because it will hurt the injuries again!” “You can put salve on it!” “Human skin is different!” “That doesnt mean it deserves to be restrained!” “It isnt! It can walk and talk and move freely!” “But it shouldn’t have-“ they stop, hearing a whimper from you and seeing how your arms cover your head.

The orcs stop fighting, not knowing what to do so Rak’ka pokes you in the side, soft and curious. When you look up with red eyes and wet tears on your lashes, he does it again. You jolt lightly as he wiggles the digit on your waist, almost trying to cheer you up.

The only thing it does is scratch at your bug bites, so you dont stop him.

“It is supposed to laugh. Humans do this with one another.” Rak’ka muses, still trying to make you smile. Shwola smirks, trying to do the same. “No, you are doing it wrong, the most common point is here.” He pokes at your stomach, and you jolt, confused instead of happy.

You came to the conclusion they’re trying to figure out how to eat you. They were arguing, and now they’re soley focused on your stomach. This is bad.

Rak’ka rubs at his chin, not seeing any positive signs you could show to have happiness as Shwola continues to prod and try to tickle. The visible marks and scratches in your soft skin almost painful to imagine but the orcs remain unbothered as the prodding continues.

Your fear escalates and finally you cover your shrinking stomach with your clothed hands. Shwola pulling back reluctantly as the two look at you. “I bet it’s hungry.” Rak’ka smiles, looking around before handing you a raw potato.

Orcs dont need to cook food, but sometimes they do. Most of the time, they dont have the safety or security to cook for long periods of time. So, they only ever try while they’re in the stronghold walls.

Shwola seems skeptical of the ordeal, but his opinion stays silent as Rak’ka tries to handle you. You wait for a moment before trying to take a bite of the potato. Chewing and swallowing roughly, the taste seems wrong and texture is hard as you knaw, but Rak’ka seems to be happy.

This only reassures you that they’re fattening you up for later.

The blandness of the potato sticks with you as Rak’ka holds his hands out and smiles wide at Shwola, almost saying ‘i told you so.’ Of course, you dont know that. You dont know what they plan to do with you.

“Rak’ka, either way, it needs air. You can’t keep the human in your hut forever.” Shwola crosses his large arms as him and Rak’ka return to speaking with one another. You held the potato with cloth covered hands and slowly rotate the food item. Soon enough, you notice the rough skin pulls on the fabric, loosening a few places and letting your fingers wiggle again.

“It is fine, once the human gets accomidated, we can-“ “we?” “You found it too!” “I didnt say it was a gift and drag it to the stronghold, did i?” “Fine. I will show it how to help out and it could be a real member of our clan.” “Good luck.” Shwola turns to leave, stepping heavy as Rak’ka makes a grunting noise and looks back at you.

Thank you for the pain on main answer!! i am just... thinking, non stop about the implications and the angst on all sides- and i LOVE how you once described the batfam as having no room currently for empathy for Danny- treating him like an enemy, because theyre in survival mode- Because for Danny, and his allies- it was probably the same back in Amity. Ghost attacks were not about Danny wanting to be a hero- it was about surviving. Everything he learned was trial by fire and a refusal to stay down. There wouldnt be much room for much else- and I don't know what Sam, Tucker, or Jazz's places in this au are, but considering everything theyve gone through- I cant imagine them having much empathy for Jason or the batfam here just as the batfam doesnt care for Danny. Because like you said- emotions ARE WEIRD. they are NOT logical. Even Jazz in all her "adulty empathy" is NOT exempt to this. If I was a sister who spent countless nights patching my brother up and watching him get shot at and burned and electrocuted- only for a group of strangers to treat him like a criminal who did this to himself on *purpose?* To look into him and act as if theyre a hairs breath away from ruining his life for something he never wanted?? Yeah. No. I wouldnt give a fuck about them. But Danny is... at least semi out of survival mode, if this is post canon events- if the worst is behind him- he's healed. He isnt facing the consequences like jason is. Hes not in the thick of it the way Jason is anymore. If it was in the middle, maybe hed get defensive when being called an asshole, I dont know, but hes not in the middle- hes out of it and trying to move on, and now heres someone who CANT move on because of HIM and wow- the guilt would be crushing. This is all so delicious. I am so pleased to have created this reaction in someone with just my words.

In all reality, I'm thinking of these things so so so so much. Danny has been throwing himself in front of everything and acting as a shield for Amity for years. "This is fine" while everything is on fire. And despite the rejection, he's just stuck on "this is fine", because he has to be fine. If he isn't fine, then what? What can he do then? Be angry? When being angry is a gateway to being Dan, I imagine he's just so averse to letting himself get any sort of worked up - even in self defense.

When I was early on in the brainstorming, I was trying to nail down what benefits Danny and Jason get this. Because as you have so wonderfully pointed out, there's so much hurt. But soulmates are all about making the other more, right? So why? Why would the universe throw Danny and Jason together?

And I came to the conclusion that it is... For Jason, Danny shows him how to say 'fuck it, I'll live no matter what'. For Danny, Jason shows him how to live for himself, to stop making himself bleed for others.

For Jason, it's to live even if it hurts and everyone tells you 'no', For Danny, it's to be selfish by finally learning to value himself.
