Have you watched the new castlevania nocturne season?
Yes!
(Spoilers)
IT SLAPPED
My primary difficulty with season 1 is I didn't feel like I had enough time or reason to get attached to Richter, since he didn't get to do much in-depth character stuff while he was busy repressing the hell out of everything, and I think this season absolutely corrected for that. He's very lovable, and the animators even make him adorable sometimes, which is nice.
Annette! Queen of the season! She and Mel Medarda are shaking hands in the gold-trimmed magical girl transformation department. The way they portrayed her journey through the spirit world and the gods of her people was incredibly beautiful! The idea that, no matter how far away she is, the people she loves and the culture she hales from are never more than a step away. Gorgeous.
Vampirism is colonialism! Bathory claiming Sekhmet's power is colonialist appropriation! Drolta refused to leave her dead and at peace and became one of those who desecrated the tomb! The themes are incredibly simple and yet rock solid!
Maria's extremely understandable emotional breakdown in the beginning half of the season managed to avoid being tiresome, even though she was mostly causing problems because of it. I loved the scribbly animation of her dark portals, and the way they animated her eyes when she was really lost in it.
The narrative reframing of Big Badass Superheroes Kick Ass into a more grounded "we're just small people doing our best in a big, cold world, and the first battle is against our own despair" narrative felt extremely solid, and strangely comforting. Might just be me and my headspace, but I hate it when I'm stuck with a bad situation I can't brute-force my way out of. It's oddly reassuring to be reminded that even larger-than-life heroes in stories they're the main characters of can't just Gumption and Badass all the world's problems away in one fell swoop.
You can tell Alucard is kind of thrilled to be actually Old and Ethereal and Wise now. He was faking it so hard in original Castlevania.
They watched a SHITLOAD of DBZ before choreographing this season and it shows. Like. I'd say parts of it are explicit homage. Drolta getting bisected and her POV splitting in half Frieza-style, Richter and Alucard getting trapped in a timestop midair, and we even got Bathory being briefly sketchy-whited-out by a massive energy attack.
On that note, choreography and fighting styles! Richter fights in a completely distinctive way to everyone else, and I think they intentionally minimized his use of the whip to distinguish him from Trevor. Richter Throws Hands. Half his moves are boxing, and it felt like he was channeling Street Fighter whenever he got in close with anyone. You don't often get the combo of a spellchucker AND a brawler, and it was extremely rad.
He fucking volleyball-bumped Alucard's meteor attack. What the fuck. Hell yeah

The misconception here is that those who don't like the anime are just pissed because its not EXACTLY the same as the canon games. At least for me, this really isn't the case.
We've been through this before with the reboot DMC game. Even though it broke hearts... it didn't really try to be traditional Devil May Cry aside from using the name. It worked with the general idea of the previous games while also TRULY doing it's own thing. Adding original characters that were decent, while also having great gameplay to back it. Concerning gameplay alone it is my second favorite game from the IP. Even though it was very crass at times I think overall its a solid game. It's just not traditional DMC. Why this anime is rubbing many fans the wrong way because it can't commit to either being a traditional Devil May Cry story OR being its own unique thing. I feel like I just watched a MAGA-bro's dumb fanfic that was backed by Netflix (I am not shitting on fanfics I have read exceptional fics in my old age). It's just a shallow, redundant story that reminds me exactly of Sonic Adventure 2 meets Castlevania (the anime). The story alone does not hold up, and if you don't have a good story you don't typically have a good product. The animation was rough in some spots but overall I thought it was decent. All I've gotten from this anime was, 'insert character cameo 10x even when its irrelevant, add some haha funny moments and quotes the fans expect from each character'. That's it. This anime isn't even hate-able. Its just mediocre. Its perfectly fine people like the anime. That's an inevitability. There really doesn't need to be a rift within the fanbase over it. However, I feel like these entertainment giants are giving us slop like this is because people will eat it. There is a lack of conscious consumerism globally in ALL applicable aspects, and that's why we keep getting low effort bullshit like this. Nothing but remakes or reimagining's these days. Nothing original or good because these giants KNOW they don't have to. Their goal is to garner attention and therefore money, and nothing more! They get away with it because people lap up the pigslop from the trough gladly. Many of the positive feedback I see about this anime are from people who haven't even played the games, or people generally indifferent to the IP. I expected this. No one is wrong here. To me, this anime is just another low effort release. They could've done something great with how elusive some of the canon lore is in DMC. And it was totally squandered for some 'alternate universe' that isn't even interesting in its own right. Goddamn, even the story they had for this could've been done way better than it was. It adds nothing to the series; all it has done is add more money in some pockets. That's why I'm mad. At least the reboot helped pave the way for a better gameplay experience for DMC5.

Finished the second season of Castlevania: Nocturne and loved it! Spoilers below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Angry boi PROTEC HIS MAN!!!! Just his running to Mizrak, so worried. Even interrupted his revenge. I just love that his serpent form came back T-T And multiple times!!!
The fight scenes were so good!!! Just so many amazing ones!
ALSO WHAT DOES ADRIAN MEAN NOT THE FIRST TIME YOU SAVED MY LIFE???? I AM-!!!!
(So happy they know each other and I think it's hilarious my fic could potentially be a prequel now alkdjalkdjaljdalj)
Everyone cute. Annette and Richter were just awww. Glad Edouard and Annette get to stay together, and Edouard can go home and get his bass player :3
Also so many gorgeous Adrian bits. Truly. Him coming out of the river was so mmmm. Also loved all the magic he got to use XD And the music was fun!
Also loved all the Egyptian stuff. The soul count was a little... (I was like why are you saying just 2 or 3, there's more than that...?), but apparently the # of parts has changed over time (it's not just 4 or 5) and it's you know, vampires during the French Revolution, so sure, whatever. The trip to Duat was fun! And Ammit's form was pretty cool.
Poor Tera. Bye Emmanuel, no one misses you.
Loved that we got some dragon fighting. Also that the dragon didn't die. Was worried. Though I will say, Sekhmet punching it was kind of funny aldkjlaj I felt sort of bad when Juste, Richter, and Maria were all boosting its breath like, "That can't be too comfortable for the dragon..."
Just think it's funny we have animated Robespierre joining forces with the son of Dracula to defend Paris from a crazy Hungarian serial killer noble who believes she's the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian goddess lol
The return of Drolta was really fun. I was sad she was in so relatively little of season 1. This was really great.
For historical things, I appreciate that they referenced how folks in France sold and bought food to watch executions. I also appreciate the reference to the trend of European obsession with eating mummies.
I will be thinking about Mizrox's future. I feel bad I'm mostly happy Olrox survived the season lol I like Mizrak just fine, and I like that Olrox likes him, but my priority is Olrox, not Mizrak, sorry lol Clearly they have some things to work out XD Should be fun (for someone, I hope). Someone else pointed out they never talked about the animal/soul stuff, and it was kind of just... Mizrak getting over it (or side-stepping it) and not apologizing to Olrox about it. And Olrox just... kind of accepting that the guy he's in love with is like this. I think it's funny that after having written You reluctant demon back in 2023, where they do have a conversation about it, I completely forgot it as a thing I wanted to happen lol Cause in my mind the matter is settled. Like the show, quite frankly, feels like neat fanfiction to me at this point (that's not what it is, but that's how my brain works, it's part of why I wasn't as anxious about season 2 releasing as I was for season 3 of the first series releasing). It's great in all the things it does, amazing stuff I never could have thought of, which is far better than a lot of the stuff I did in my fic (and those fight scenes, dang). But yeah, I do agree, they should have talked about it. And they don't. And it's... mm...
Another thing is that Mizrak maybe still has some racism to unpack. There's that line Olrox has about when his people were massacred by the Spanish, and Olrox says, "And our terrifying gods could do nothing to save us." And Mizrak replies, "Perhaps your gods were the problem," and it's like what the fuck Mizrak lol I don't know if it's part of his struggles with his own faith, which is very obviously happening, how if a god exists, they're allowing all this stuff to happen, that Emmanual failed so hard, and believing in a god - which is his issue - is causing so much of his issues (it's making him believe his affection for Olrox is false, that Olrox doesn't have a soul, and/or it's not saving him from what he believes is a wrong attraction, idk). Or, from a semi-logical standpoint, that Olrox's people were attacked because they weren't Christian, and that the Spanish wouldn't have attacked Olrox's people if they were Christian. Or simply that "well it's your fault for not being Christian", I have no idea. It's a weird moment. We have really not moved past the "animal" conversation all that much. Olrox is very, very forgiving. And I am way more forgiving because I forgot I resolved most of this in my fic over a year ago lol I don't know, relationships are messy, I enjoyed what I saw of them. Olrox running to Mizrak's side was a lot and I loved it. The way Olrox is like, "I thought you wanted to know" killed me.
ANYWAY though... it was a good season. Really, I liked it.

Can I make a request of yandere Vlad Dracula from Castlevania love letter x gender neutral reader. Please ❤️
Tumblr media
My immortal love,
I write these words to you with a heart immersed in darkness, because even though I am a being of the night, the light of your love illuminates my existence like no star ever could. From the moment I first saw you, my immortal heart was captivated by your unique beauty and radiant soul.
My soul was consumed by a fiery passion that burns fiercer than the fires of hell itself. I feel compelled to protect you from all the evils of this world, to ward off any threat that dares to come between us. My eyes watch your every movement, every smile, every tear, like a vigilant predator, ready to devour anyone who dares to harm you.
In every beat of my dark heart, your name echoes, like an eternal song that resonates through the centuries. How can I express in words the depth of my love for you? How can I describe the longing I feel when thinking about you, even when I am shrouded in the deepest darkness?
You are my light in the darkness, my hope in a world of shadows. Every night, when I sink into the depths of loneliness, it is the thought of you that keeps me sane. I dream of the day when our souls will be united forever, when our destinies will intertwine in an eternal dance under the moonlight.
May this letter reach you wherever you are, and may its words warm you like the heat of the sun that is so denied to me. For, even in the icy immensity of the night, my love for you burns like an inextinguishable flame. I can't bear the idea that you could be touched by someone other than me, because you're mine and I'm yours. I promise you my eternal loyalty, my unwavering devotion.
With all my love,
Vlad.

I FUCKING HATE RINGS OF POWER
On fuckass adaptations (i like the castlevania anime) (heavy ranting below)
This is ASTRONOMICALLY random as it’s barely about Castlevania and more about something i normally don’t post about but I’ve been keeping this topic inside me for far far too long.
I fucking despise, as much as i am humanly capable to bear pure hatred, Rings of Power. I always see people complaining about the “Netflixvania” adaptations being terrible, and I do agree that they’re not accurate to the games, but heavens gracious those people have NOT seen what an actual bad adaptation is like. Sure, Castlevania got an inaccurate adaptation, but at least the adaptation, considered as its own piece of media, is decent. good even. Not the greatest thing ever written or that I've ever seen but it was, objectively, well written and animated.
Unlike that jackass shit filled abhorrent abominacion by goddamn Amazon DestroyingArtPrime that is Rings of Power. I don’t mean to hate on people who enjoy it, not at all, but to those who do, I am begging you please raise your standards, honey you deserve better than that. So. So. SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER MAN.
Every single thing about that series pisses me off in ways I wasn't even aware I could be pissed off until my parents forced me to watch it with them because “well it’s lord of the rings!!”. I did enjoy spending time with them (though i was literally, physically coerced to do so) but i so fucking wish we had spent it watching something better cuz the whole experience was beyond frustrating. The fact that it no joke is the most expensive series ever made? Are we being for real?? One. Goddamn. Million. of dollars went into creating that fucking insult to not only Tolkien’s poor dead ass, but to cinema and the art of moviemaking itself. Every single scene is so obviously, clearly edited and oversaturated with after effects and I could count on one hand the scenes that were recorded without a greenscreen. The costumes seriously look like Halloween and Carnival props a single mom on a budget would buy to her kids and I’m not even exaggerating I so very mean it it’s true just LOOK AT THEM VRO SOME OF THEM HAVE PRINTS ON THEM PRINTSSSSSS THEYRE SO OBVIOUS AND THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE HEAVILY INSPIRED BY MEDIEVAL CLOTHING DAWG I CAN'T DO THIIIIIIIIIIS. Do you think it ends there? NO IT FUCKING DOESNT IT GETS SO MUCH WORSE. If the visual aspects of it were the only thing bad about it i wouldn't be here dumping a textwall but good god merciful above the writing is genuinely enraging. Like its not just personal pet peeves or small stuff level of frustrating, no it’s ENRAGING. Every character is both incredibly arrogant and rude and fucking stupid, yes even the good guys, EXPECIALLY the good guys, actually. The plot is as compelling as one of Jeff Bezos’ shit stained ass hairs and the dialogue is so dogshit and senseless i dont even know how delusional and self centered you have to be to sit down, write that, hear it being acted out and think “ah yes this is a great script”, that goes for the making of the whole series as well.
I won't sit here and explain why exactly it all sucks as i said cuz there’s plenty of youtube videos that do so (sadly some of them are fucking filled with bigotry i want to shoot myself) and i will instead move on to what pisses me of the most.
Some lunatics are actually, seriously saying that RoP has the same vibes as Peter Jackson’s movies.
Yes the same movies that are considered a cinematic masterpiece and classic, the same movies that won awards over awards over awards, the same movies that inspired every single fantasy movie that came after them. I’m well aware they aren’t accurate to the books either, but again, like Castlevania’s first anime, they are GOOD. They are great in fact, and no one can say otherwise without being objectively wrong. That trilogy’s vibes will never ever be reached or equated again, for the very simple reason that art and passion are fucking withering away in today’s world. The costumes for that set of movies were hand manufactured and weathered by the actors themselves CLIMBING UP MOUNTAINS. The weapons used were REAL. REAL, METAL FORGED WEAPONS. VIGGO MORTENSEN ALMOST GOT AN ACTUAL DAGGER THROUGH HIS FACE BECAUSE THE ORC’S ACTOR MISSED. AND YES HE DID BREAK HIS TOE BECAUSE THE HELM HE KICKED WAS REAL, EVERYTHING THAT COULD BE REAL IN THOSE MOVIES WAS. BOOKS, MAPS, EVERYTHING. ALMOST EVERY SCENE OF LANDSCAPES WAS SHOT IN NEW ZEALAND, A REAL PLACE.
Tolkien hated the idea of someone adapting his works, yet i am certain that if he would have seen the Peter Jackson movies, knowing that they were made out of sincere passion and love for his works and as a tribute to it and him, he would have appreciated them. He certainly is rolling in his grave because of RoP though. It’s not just bad, it's soulless. Completely hollow. Filled to the brim with sfx and fake props, even the musical score composed by the same composer who made the Lotr trilogy’s score just sounds plain, not because it’s bad but because it so clearly belongs to something better than that. RoP wasn’t made out of passion for Lotr it was made for mere profit. One of the directors fucking made fun of a Silmarillion fan who simply asked a question about the goddamn Fëanorian crest, in public, for everyone to see. Those people aren’t Tolkien fans, they're soulless evil corporate pigs, they’re everything Tolkien, and I personally, despised and despise.
It genuinely makes me so sad that, as badly recieved as it was, many series and movies AND HELL EVEN BOOKS AND GAMES are eerily like RoP these days, the death of art we’re witnessing is soul crushing and concerning.

Alright, so as part of a private project to literally condense everything (Meaning lore and history) Castlevania related into notes for my own reference when writing fanfiction. (Or even just talking about the series because I feel like some of y'all will eviscerate me if all I knew was the Animated series...) I get to look through a lot of the old game manuels. Most the time any narrative that those old games had was in the manuel and not the game itself. (Kinda just how games back then worked because I know Fallout even did the same thing. Granted there still WAS a lotta lore in the game itself but there was a whole lot more in the manuals/books and such but I digress...)
Now most of these manual are just as I expected. Really fun and campy writing. More or less aiming to set up the reason why the game is happening however something about CV 3's manual- cracks. me. up.
Tumblr media
Just in case the quality drops and you can't read it...
"The time is 100 years before Simon Belmont's birth. The moon burns red overhead and the black clouds loom large on the horizon. All is still and quiet. Only the call of a distant crow stirs the cold night air. Suddenly, thunder roars out of the Morbid Mountains and into the village of Warakiya. Like the yell of an angry giant, the terrible sound shakes homes and shops as if they were sapling branches. But no one blinks an eye. The village is dead calm. For all the people have fled after receiving warnings from the Great Beyond that Count Dracula has assemble a mighty army of evil, and they're poised to march up from the Valley of Graveyards to bury mankind in a Tomb of Terror. Unfortunately, there's no corner on Earth that won't be gobbled up by this bloodthirsty legion of Swamp Dragons, Slasher Skeletons and Forces of the Undead. The last line of defense is you, Trevor Belmont- the forefather of Simon Belmont and the origin of the Belmont Warlord Chromosomes. But your chances are slimmer than Jim. In fact, the only real edge you have over this fang sharpened freak is your power to transform into three different partner spirits: Grant DaNasty, the ferocious Ghost Pirate. Sypha, the Mystic Warlord. And Alucard, Dracula's forgotten son. Each of these spirits will confront you as you fight through 17 possible levels of never-ending fright, including the Haunted Ship of Fools, the Clock Tower of Untimely Death and Curse Castle. You must also possess the strength to wield the mighty Battle Axe and Mystic Whip, which were given to you by the Poltergeist King. So go forth young Trevor into the cold black night, where death lurks around every corner and evil lingers on every stone. And remember, if your courage and cunning are any less than magnificent or if you fail to choose the correct Paths of Fate, you'll be banished to the world of the undead, and zombies will rule until the end of time." - Pg. 4-5. "How to Play Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse"
Tumblr media
Once again... if you can't read the text,
Trevor C. Belmont - "Trevor the infamous forefather of Simon Belmont- the mighty warrior who pulverized Dracula in Castlevania and again in Simon's Quest. Trevor has a number of oldie but goodie attack items that have been given to him by the Poltergeist King. These include the Mystic Whip, Battle Axe, Banshee Boomerang, Dagger and Sacred Water. Trevor is also the master of special items. Including a Pocket Watch, Invisibility Potion and the Rosary." - Pg. 8, "How to Play Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse"
Alucard - "As the son of Count Dracula, Alucard once tried to prevent Trevor from accomplishing his mission. However, he reached a point where he could no longer abide by his father's evilness, and is now looking for a partner to help him put an end to his father's wicked plans. A resident of underground tunnels, Alucard attacks with a Ball of Destruction, which he can also fire in three directions (if he captures a special power booster.) Alucard's primary strength, though, is his ability to turn himself into a bat. However, he cannot attack while he is airborne and will turn back into a human form if his wings are clipped by an evil enemy." - Pg. 8, "How to Play Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse"
Grant DaNasty - "Count Dracula used his sinister powers to turn this Pirate Captain into a ghost. And as one of Dracula's gruesome gang, he will attack you from the top of the Clock Tower of Untimely Death. However, if you can defeat this scoundrel, his spirit will join you. He's small, nimble and has a strong spring in his step, so he's able to jump up onto walls or ceilings and stick to them like glue. Grant's primary attack weapons are an axe and a dagger. Another of his weapons is his skill to scurry along hidden routes not accessible to Trevor. Unfortunately, both his body and ego bruise easily." - Pg. 9. "How to Play Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse"
Sypha Belnades - "Sypha, the Mystic Warlord of Warakiya, is also a vampire hunter who walks quickly and carries a big stick. Rumors of his death were spread throughout Eastern Europe, but in truth he was captured be "Cyclops", the one-eyed Ultimate Evil. Sypha uses his Warakiya Staff to attack. Other attack favorites of his include flames, frozen crystals and lighting bolts. With these, he can destroy evil enemies before they get close to him. However, his skin is very thin and blisters easily when blasted by grotesque enemy attacks. To score BIG, Sypha must attack before his enemies find him." - Pg. 9, "How to Play Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse"
This game did NOT take itself seriously in the manual. The text feels like someone had a list of keywords they had to hit for each character (They probably did) and the framing is so... campy. I ADORE it.
The look of the character too are just so... stereotypical too. For example, Alucard there? Like I knew that this was his original design but something about viewing an actual PDF of the manual with the corny description just made me smile. Smug bastard. Trevor and Simon basically have the same BarbianTM look. Grant was ripped from being a deckhand and Sypha is so covered it really managed to keep the fact she was a girl till the very end of the game when she lets her hair down. I both adore this and found a new gratitude for the later re-imaging of these characters.
Tumblr media
Last little tid-bit is this incredibly classic monster art on page 20-21. They are so goofy! I'd see them in a Goosebumps book! I love it!
The link to the PDF used.
Also found this site that lets you play CV3 in a browser. Probably common knowledge for those of you that have been around for awhile but... I figure I should share it anyway. The only problem I had with it was the audio was a tad distorted.
I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

III. Moments between
He paces up many coiled stairways, clawing carelessly at the wall with one taloned hand.
Why did you do that? You’re leaving, you sounded undecided but you will probably follow, and he’ll never see you again. He could barely keep himself from telling you all the things that sprouted like poison from his heart in those moments, but he tried, tried to be the friend you needed.
Because he is a fool who waited for too long, and in the end, he does wish you well.
Adrian slams shut the door to his chamber, wondering how he ended up here as he gazes long at its darkness, its barrenness. With clipped movements he discards his coat and boots and slowly walks forward, dropping unceremoniously on the bed with his head in his hands.
He's a fool, yes, and an idiot besides, because the pain of the tiding you imparted tonight is only surpassed by the sweet, hot silk of your tongue on an inch of skin.
He rises again, walking to and fro like a trapped animal in a cage.
Why the hell did you do that? You're not the kind of person who would toy with another, and yet... he couldn’t read the look in your eyes. He sits back down, wanting to both cry and scream, not brave enough to go back there and ask you. And why, to make things worse? He's come to know you and he most certainly has come to love you in so many ways, and hell knows he respects you enough to not intervene in such an important moment of your life.
And still, the most basic instinct curls like a cornered wolf inside him ready to pounce, shattering those honorable thoughts; the wetness of your mouth won't leave his mind.
Lying on the bed, he breathes in, breathes out, trying to shut it all from thought. He tries, but his body won’t listen. He tries, even as he slowly undoes his belts and trousers.
He shouldn't, he has no right to use the memory of you this way.  Adrian growls low in his throat, arms falling at his sides. While he can gut night creatures with his bare hands, the guilty pleasure trickling like nectar from the warmth of your tongue makes it impossible to win here.
He'll be selfish. He'll have this, at least, for his own. He slides his trousers down his hips and takes himself in hand, and his fingers are soon sticky with his slick. He’s never been easily affected by these things, but now he's so sensitive it might consume him alive if he doesn't do something to ease the pressure and it doesn't take long, either; the thought of your closeness and the conjuring of his imagination is more than enough, and he strokes almost spitefully, until he's shivering and groaning, spilling himself over his hand.
Panting, he stares up at the ceiling without seeing it, lying still with his trousers undone and his shirt in disarray.
At least he can think now, but that is no improvement, apparently. His low, bitter laughter fills the silence. “Pathetic...” Adrian shakes his head, eyes closing against tears that mock.
Tumblr media
He does his best to avoid crossing paths with you for the following days. He fills his time with every chore possible and roams the forest at night, running with the animals that see him as their own when he shape-shifts. His feelings fall in the background in that state, which provides much needed respite as the time of your departure approaches. Even though he tells himself he can't and won't be there, come the time, he's on the battlement high up, watching the cart he knows is yours depart on slow wheels.
He's not even said farewell, and you hadn't sought him out, either. It's better this way, Adrian keeps repeating, close to doubling over from the grief drowning the shores of his spirit.
He walks away when the caravan disappears from sight, descending towards the laboratory and library on a known path strewn with many memories, berating himself for his cowardice for a while, but concluding with a sigh at the futility of it all.
“You're here.”
There is no greater absurdity than the sound of your voice. Has he gone mad? But then it’s accompanied by the sight of you, sitting at one long working table, a vial in hand and a tome in the other, looking straight at him.
Adrian goes rigid, a million conflicting thoughts pinning him to the spot. “... so are you.” He dreads asking, and he's never feared anything in his life before. “Why?”
You cast your eyes down. “I decided to stay,” you say, raising your gaze to his. “Here.”
He can't quite grasp it yet, merely waiting for you to continue.
“The gist of it is... I thought long about it: about what I want, and what I don't want. Matei and I spoke... we parted amiably enough.” You sigh, closing the tome.
If you're miserable for your choice, he's the lowest of beasts for the relief bursting through him. “You're staying.”
“I'm staying,” you repeat, not quite smiling. “And you've been avoiding me.”
Adrian takes a step further, then another. “I had to.” Damn his heart, choking on the words. “I needed to,” he admits.
“No,” you rise and near. “You don't need to explain yourself. I'm sorry for... I didn't think that night, I didn't mean to...”
Damn this. “You didn't?” He looks down on you now, taller as he is, because your face shows... vulnerability, the kind he's never, ever seen before, but now he can’t stop whatever pushes him.
You're staring at him strangely. “Adrian I... you don't know... you don't know...” You turn away, hiding your face from him and how he wishes you wouldn't, because this feels like cleaning a festering wound: necessary.
He nears you, daring to place a hand on your shoulder. “Will you tell me, then?”
Your shoulders rise then fall. “I stayed for myself, yes. I stayed because it would be such a shame to throw away my purpose... but I also stayed to be near you. I couldn't imagine myself... so far away from...”
A pause. Elation. He feels like a jester whose cunning has been strangled out of him by a mad king. “I'm happy you stayed,” Adrian says simply. The admission hangs in the air, a fragile bridge spanning the chasm between you.
You turn your head, and in your eyes there is horror melded with surprise. Your hand goes involuntarily to your chest, and he knows what you're reaching for. “How so?”
He's dangerously close to shattering, but speaks anyway. “The night I gifted you that pendant, I wanted to ask you something, but then… well.”
You swallow a tremble to your voice when you speak. “What did you want to ask, Adrian?”
You’re standing there, closer than you've ever been. Everything is turned on its head, his sadness melted by the cinders of hope. “If you’d join me, if you'd go away with me, on a trip. Just you and I, together. I know a path, I’ve been… I’ve been going for years, at around this time. It involves a lot of trekking, but the sights are splendid, worth it.”
“Just you and I?”
You’re tilting closer, a hand on his arm.
“Yes. It’s safe besides.”
“I'd feel safe with you anywhere,” you murmur, your lashes heavier. The speed of your heartbeat rouses his blood.  “ And I really didn’t mean to… last time, but I…” Your hand reaches for his, and he can but watch with bated breath as you hug it to your chest then kiss his palm, eyes closing. “I couldn’t help it.” And as if to prove it, you gently nip at one finger.
There are times in one's life when a single moment separates a chapter from another, but it may be so short that one breath of hesitation is enough to chase it away. No, Adrian thinks. Not this time.
His finger glides along your lips, pausing midway. “You didn’t answer,” he follows gently, bathing in the sight, scent, and sensation of you.
You seem trapped by the gesture, lips parted as Adrian slowly wets his thumb on the lower one. He’s beginning to see, to understand.
“Yes,” you utter, eyes lowering just as his fingers wrap around your chin and he dips his face to yours.
You fall into him when he takes an eager taste of your mouth, and Adrian thanks his innate balance but lets himself be happily affected, an arm wrapping around you as he props himself against the nearest shelf. Your hands are on him, your body leaning into his with complete trust. And when you break apart, it’s with a clarity that overwhelms him, starved and haplessly relieved.
“Sweet, sweet girl…” Adrian soothes, running both hands up and down your back; you shudder, and the rush he feels at that is beatific. He doesn’t dare speak it aloud, not yet.
But there are steps, voices.
You both quickly tilt towards a more secluded space, wrapped around each other, watching a study group walk into the library.
Adrian closes his eyes, reminded of the time then looks at you, placing a short kiss on your forehead. This is far from over, you need to speak, there are so many things … you both need.  “... My chambers?”
You nod without hesitation, coiling your arms tightly around his neck.

I absolutely fucking love Castlevania: Nocturne.
It's fun, it's bloody, lots of anction and lot's of soul, like in the original.
I love every single character. I love having my boy back, even though he looks younger after 300 something years. Love my new ungreatul wanker. Sypha would have been proud of him and Maria. Annette and Edouard? Are you kidding me? If the show was about them, I would cry every episode. Turns out, I don't hate opera that much.
But let's agree, Erzebet Bathory doesn't measure up to Dracula. (Who's Dracula?) And her motivation also really doesn't. Carmilla held the same broad goal as Dracula did: Revenge. Compared to that, power about power for vampires isn't as fun. To put it nicely, Bathory lore and Sechmet lore seem so far from each other.
And what's up with Drolta? Don't mind me, she's fucking gorgeous. But she's also an eyesore. She goes from a very glorified owner of a goth club to a Baldur's gate succubus type character. Yeah, she has that dress, but it is also not...anything time appropiate. Glad she's dead. Very curious to see what Tera would look like as Erzebet's apprentice or whatever.
The whole Abbot thing is fine. I'm glad he's suffered. Watching Mizrak's world crumble with Abbot's integrity was very intresting. I hope Mizrak doesn't die. I can't handle thinking about loneliness Olrox endures.
So, yeah. I would forever detest Netflix if this one doesn't move on to the second season and many more after. As if i'm in love with Netflix, but still.

Memories Of Happiness
So this is basically just angsty sad thoughts about the end of Castlevania season 2, because I just watched it for the first time and bawled my eyes out, and also didn't want to move on with the show without writing something about the tragedy of the Tepes family. So anywayyy enjoy!
The first memory Alucard has of his father is of making him smile.
He doesn't know until later in his life that usually, babies don't remember their first moments on this earth. But he remembers. He remembers being held by warm arms. He remembers opening his eyes to see a man leaning over him, a man with tears streaming down his cheeks...only, when he meets Alucard's eyes, his tears dry up, and his face breaks into a smile. An expression of pure happiness.
This is something that continues, as strange as Alucard's childhood is. He doesn't think that a little boy is meant to go from six to thirteen in the span of two years, but it happens to him. It never seemed strange when it was happening.
He has a very cozy room. He thinks of it that way because it always seems to be storming outside. He remembers, once, having a dream that a monster was chasing him - and then he woke to the sound of crashing thunder, and lightning striking a tree outside his window. He waited for his mother to rush in, but then remembered that she would be working late that night. And then he burst into tears, thinking for sure that he was going to die.
But as immediately as the tears had come, Father was suddenly there - entering the room like a very comforting shadow, enveloping Alucard in a hug that lasted until Alucard didn't feel frightened anymore.
Father stays with him until he went back to sleep.
Until he's an adult, Alucard doesn't know anything about his parents besides the fact that Father is always there, and Mother is doing very important work to save humanity. Father used to tell him that, when Alucard pouted because Mother wasn't home for supper.
Your mother is the town's hero, Alucard. She is at work saving many people - saving humanity!
And he tells her that, too, when she arrives home looking exhausted, but happy to see both of them.
Hello, savior of humanity! Father calls in his deep, rich voice as he sweeps her off her feet.
How many people did you rescue today? Alucard remembers asking.
Oh, stop it, you two, Mother says, but she's smiling. I rescued several people. She rushes to Alucard's side to give him a kiss on the cheek and ruffle his hair. I see someone still hasn't finished his soup.
That's cause I was waiting for you, Alucard says. He glances at Father, who looks a little sad - and then he realizes he hasn't really been grateful for all the time they've spent together. Father's soup might be better than yours, though.
Of course it isn't, Father says, but Alucard knows he's just saying that so Mother feels better -- and behind the pretend scolding, Father smiles. Alucard always seems to be able to make him feel better.
As Alucard grows up, he figures out that he's something called a vampire - which is technically a monster, although he looks human, because Mother isn't one. Father's a vampire, too, which is why he just tends the gardens and the castle and doesn't do big important things like Mother. Because people would try to kill him.
But even as a young adult, Alucard can't understand why anyone would want to kill his father. One day a man comes to his mother, who has the reputation of being Wallachia's best doctor. He has tuberculosis, which after a time was usually a death sentence; but within a few weeks, he is completely healthy. Then the man returns, not happy at all, but furious. He accuses her of cheating, using witchcraft and consorting with "that freak."
Mother loses her temper. She shouts at the man for several minutes, calling him a moron, ungrateful scum of the earth, someone who would have been dead if not for her, and that she might consider never helping anyone again - and eventually he apologizes and leaves.
Alucard is almost as furious - he has nothing good to say. Father hadn't done anything wrong; or if he had, it was a long, long time ago, too far back for anyone in their town to remember. He is the gentlest person Alucard knows.
No, Alucard is too angry to help in that moment.
In the end, it's Father who calms her down. He makes her some tea, just as she likes it, makes her sit down, and puts a blanket around her shoulders.
"It's all right, Lisa," he says. "I'm not offended; even if they don't know what I am, I know what they think of me. And I don't care. Why would I?"
"Maybe," Mother says, her voice tight, "because they're all morons who don't the first thing about science, and I am trying to help them, partially with the knowledge I've learned from you, and you don't get any thanks, you - you -"
"I do not deserve thanks," Father says. "I did terrible things to them, a long time ago; and it's you who helped me to see that they were, in fact, terrible things. What did I even have then? I had insatiable bloodlust, and monsters who followed me, and a population of terrified people, and a dark castle. Now I have you -" Father puts an arm around Alucard. "And I have my son. I don't need anything more."
Mother's shoulders slump.
"You're right," she says. "I'm sorry - to both of you. You shouldn't have heard me say those things; I do want to help these people, really. I would never stop. It's just - I felt so angry -"
"It's okay, Mother," Alucard says, feeling the need to validate some of her fury. "To be honest, that idiot deserved it, and you may have been too kind to him."
Despite what he'd just said, despite everything, Father smiles.
Alucard smiles back at him, and everything is okay.
There is a day that Father stops smiling, and never does so again.
Then there is a day when Alucard opens his eyes to see his father's face stricken with sadness. Tears are streaming down his face.
"I'm killing our boy," Father says, and Alucard has never heard him so distraught, so wracked with sadness. He has never heard anyone sound that way. "Your greatest gift to me, and I'm killing him."
Alucard's instincts were right. Father is already dead.
And there is only one thing Alucard has left to do that will make his father happy.

Netflix Castlevania is a REAL doozy! Our protagonists, the Belmonts being treated horribly by their so called friends and love interests, but it's always depicted as a joke at their suspence, never being the one to beat the grand big bad or have their most greatest power (The Morningstar whip) being treated as useless, gets paired with the female love interest who doesn't treat him with much respect and is inconsiderate of his feelings and all? Check. They even had one of Dracula's generals go through severe abuse, r*pe, torture, locked in a dungeon, tricked into being magically bound to his female abuser/r*pist, mocked and demeaned in by his female abuser to other vampires, and yet be the one to apologize to HER and fall for HER that he cried when she took herself out when she loses her powers! 3/5
Part 1 part 2 part 3
I have watched castlevania (though it's been a while) so I can definitely add a lot of input here.
I see where you're coming from with the way the narrative treats Trevor Belmont's situation and trauma (I do partially agree here) we are first introduced to Trevor in season 1 episode 2 where he is visibly drunk and gets into a fight due to his family crest. From that whole ordeal in episode 2 we find out a few things:
Trevor is from the Belmont family
The Belmont's don't have a good reputation in Wallachia and were thought to be evil people who dealt with dark magic and evil beings
Trevor is homeless
Trevor is the last son (person) from his family
Tumblr media
So the things we have learnt about Trevor aren't any good and it's already implied that there's a lot surrounding his backstory and trauma in general.
(I do think that season 1 and 2 so handle Trevor's, alucards and Hector's trauma quite well my problem stems at the end of season 2 till season 4)
The later half of season 1 we see that Trevor's social skills are significantly lacking with the way he fails to comfort sypha when she watches her grandfather and the other speakers leaving and from that we are revealed to the fact that Trevor has been travelling on his own for quite a while meaning that he has never actually made a long term human relationship in years and that sypha is his first one in a long time. No we are aware that Trevor does have regular human interactions since he does go to a pub or an inn from time to time but they're incredibly brief and sometimes outright negative interactions at worst and neutral interactions at best. So I think there's a highlight about sypha being his first positive human interaction in quite a while and one where both are experiencing a lot of various emotions together (I did hope that the show might of made a bit of emphasise on Trevor's loneliness and how he was a lone wolf for quite a while)
Tumblr media
Early season 2 we get a lot more information about Trevor and his backstory. We got news that he for one couldn't actually read
Tumblr media
(I don't think he ever learnt to read in later seasons either) and that he lost his home and family when he was 12 or around that age. I do like the fact that there is an emphasis on the fact that everything seems to be a blur to Trevor since he physically can't remember what age he was when all of his family was excommunicated by the church or what age he started to travel alone. The show at least allows for both sypha and alucard to be genuinely shocked by this information and even have alucard make an offer handed comment on how he had a longer and much more stable childhood than Trevor did (I do like this and I think it actually shines a lot on Trevor's past).
I think the whole memory loss thing with Trevor can be linked to two things :
Trevor resorts to alcohol to forget or feel numb about what happend to him as a child
Trevor's brain couldn't physically handle all the trauma so it just blocked it/made him forget it to protect him
Tumblr media
The end of season 2 gives trevor a nice conversation that I personally enjoy and one that actually addresses his behaviour within season 1 and season 2 when sypha asks him to accompany her and travel with her.
I do think that they shouldn't of actually defeated Dracula in season 2 but season 3 ( I wanted more of the trio and honestly I still thought that they were massively under prepared when it came to fighting Dracula). When it comes to Trevor not getting the main spotlight when fighting Dracula that's something I get why and honestly I still do think that alucard should be the the main one to fight and take down his father as it's much more symbolic that way (alucard is Dracula spelt backwards and alucard literally defined himself to be the exact opposite of his father it's something that's a part of him and something that he needed to let go of after the fight)
Tumblr media
However, Trevor does get his time to shine considering that he fought death itself in season 4 and survived!
Tumblr media
I think what bugs me the most is how when it comes to Trevor and his trauma (basically his trauma is very integral to his character it's literally influenced his actions IE drinking a lot and an overall lack of self care or self preservation) the idea of the show using trevor and having sypha and alucard be disgusted at themselves in a way that reminds them of trevor rubs me the wrong way and I can't fully comprehend or articulate why.
I think it's the way the narrative tires to play it as a joke where Trevor ends up being the punching bag maybe that's why it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's that because I do think that those moments could be used as a way to have the characters get closer and understand Trevor a lot more and vice versa.
Tumblr media
Now moving onto alucard I think the whole thing he went through with Sumi and taka was unnecessary. I really hated the fact that the writers chose to break up the trio after season 2 and I hoped that we could of seen both Trevor and alucard rebuild their childhood homes together and both of them heal from their trauma while also dealing with the other vampires and hoard left. I think we should of gotten a sypha pov where she is somewhat torn about going back or staying behind with Trevor and alucard (in the end I do think she would go back to the speakers to meet her grandad and then come back to complete the trio)
I think the thing is alucard already had enough trauma there was no need (in my opinion) to add the whole sumi and taka thing + him being so lonely that he literally made dolls of trevor and sypha (that broke me). Like I would of enjoyed if the show took its course focused on alucard processing what happend to both his mother and that fact that he had to kill his dad and he now resides in that exact house with everything still there and fresh. We could of just had alucard grieving and sypha and Trevor there to support him (every single time I remember that sumi and taka may of reminded alucard of Trevor and sypha and that maybe why he let them be so close to him I tweak) there's also the fact that you could have alucard go through a bit of an identity crisis and not knowing how to fit into the vampire world or how to help stop the hoard and what maybe left of Dracula's army.
In the end I dont know I just think the whole sumi and taka thing + Trevor and sypha leaving him behind was unnecessary and unfavourable. This is more so especially after season 4 proceeds to introduce Greta and somewhat not fully explore all of the trauma alucard receives due to the whole SA situation with Sumi and taka. Sure I think it would be interesting for the show to have alucard be incredibly hesitant of trusting Greta but having alucard silently yearn for trustful and valuable human contact and interaction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, I do like the way the show went about exploring the trauma alucard had in season 1 and season 2 with sypha being the one to make a lot of the connections and even having the show display alucarda conflicted feeling about his mothers death and his fathers rage thay got him injured.
(like I said I haven't watched castlevania in a while so there maybe some mistakes but this is my take on all of this)

FARLLEE WHY ARE THERE SO MANY
Tumblr media
okay first off, lao huang from xenoblade chronicles x! yes, we're back to xenoblade. the brainrot is so real, farllee. mr. sad dad, mr 'this damn weather, somebody fix this!' himself. this is more of a canon divergent case, though. i won't get into details, but the new content for xcx definitive didn't quite get to follow up on a cliffhanger at the end of the wii u version in a satisfying way, possibly because of issues with lao's original seiyu passing away, so if i were to write him, i'd want to follow up on that in my own way.
Tumblr media
how's it poppin'? back at you again with more fucking xenoblade, i have yet another x character: alois bernholt, a backstory character from the wii u version who gets to take center stage in the definitive edition's new epilogue. when i first got to the epilogue i wasn't sure what to think of him, but now that i'm done? i love him. al xenoblade, the man that you are...
gun to all of your heads please play x it is so so so so so so so so so good. it's one of my favourite games of all time, p l e a s e.
Tumblr media
rika furude from higurashi no naku koro ni is one of my favourite characters in the history of anything ever. i can't get into it without spoiling the mystery of the series, but know rika is my baby. my precious princess. and higurashi is one of the most amazing stories i have ever experienced.
the first chapter of the sound novels is free on steam if you wanna check it out, alternatively go for the manga! those are the two best ways to experience higurashi. watch the 2006 anime if you must, but it's rushed and gets a lot of details wrong and cuts a lot of important character moments. avoid studio passione's gou and sotsu, though. those are kinda bad and ruin the original series' perfect ending.
Tumblr media
finally i'll give you juste belmont from castlevania: harmony of dissonance! i'm primarily thinking game canon here, but i'm not about to turn down the netflixvania sad old man incarnation if i gotta. i've always loved how different juste is from the rest of the belmonts, being primarily a mage like his ancestor sypha, and idk. i just think he's neat. he's my babygirl.
potential muses.

Castlevania Nocturne 2x1 Musings - "Monsters" & Souls
Lowkey the Abbot is ticking me off.
Tumblr media
Effed up as it is, I LOVE what they're doing with Erzsebet & Drolta.
I effing HATE when people claim that monsters like vampires are soulless amoral animals, just cuz they're evil. As flat & hollow as Erzbet was in S1, CLEARLY she has a soul.
Tumblr media
The Abbot said it himself: "You're GRIEVING." But his stupid arse still insists that it's impossible to turn Drolta into a Night Creature or whatever, cuz she has no soul since she's a vampire--this effing moron. After his own wife JUST told him that although she's a vampire now, she still loves their daughter Maria.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even after he'd JUST spoken to Edouard:
Edouard: "I'm sorry that all your friends are dead." Abbot: "How can a creature like YOU be sorry?... You are Devils from Hell. And when the times comes, you will see me there."
It had already been well established that not all Night Creatures are soulless mindless demons. And it's not just Edouard who's "special" or whatever just cuz he can sing and has an OP character design--these other Night Creatures seem like they can THINK & feel, too!
Tumblr media
It's not that humans have souls & vampires & Night Creatures don't. It's about the CHOICES that they make. A big part of Christianity is FREE WILL. Will they choose to follow their base impulses & act on wickedness, or will they fight those impulses and choose to do good?
Maria & Alucard were discussing their p.o.s. fathers, and Alucard was SO right: "I've known human men who were FAR worse [than my father, Dracula]." We got that whole iconic convo in OG S1 from the crooked priests who were read for filth by NIGHT CREATURES for being corrupted a-holes who'd SOLD heir souls for power.
But although I get where Alucard was coming from, as of right now I highkey disagree with him about how "If anything can redeem anyone in this world, then yes, love probably can."
I thoroughly doubt that Erzsebeta's capacity to love Drolta will cancel out her being an evil heifer who can't be redeemed & deserves to die. We've gotten NOTHING from her that justifies WHY she's even doing ANY of this stuff in S1 & S2. She's just evil for no reason, and IDC how much she's grieving Drolta--who's not a good person either, btw.
Cuz like, love redeemed Dracula--even Alucard acknowledged how Dracula realized he loved Alucard during their final battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IMO he was 100% valid for wiping out Wallachia--yes even the peasants, cuz they all stood around and watched as Lisa was burned at the stake for "witchcraft," when they all knew good & well that she was just a healer who HELPED THEM. But god forbid she be a fangbanger! DEATH! So even though Dracula was 100% justified in killing the Wallachians, he went way too far when he was like: I'm just gonna start a war & destroy ALL of humanity now. Like...?
Realizing you're capable of loving someone doesn't stop you from being effing evil & deserving to die. And Dracula knew that too. But I was HAPPY when DracuLisa were reborn and got to be together again, so Dracula could EARN his redemption by traveling the world with her and learning to HELP people. He CHOSE to stop being a big scary vampire, and using his powers for good. He knew Alucard was right to kill him, and didn't wanna waste his 2nd shot at life by making things hard for his son again.
But Erzsebeta doesn't have any of this foundational character development--I'm supposed to just feel bad for her cuz she's sad that Drolta's dead? Esp. cuz I have a baaaaad feeling that Drolta's gonna come back even WORSE, cuz of whatever it is that turns Night Creatures into demons. And all this talk about being her "servant" is rubbing me the wrong way, like Drolta might end up ROBBED of her Free Will if she comes back wrong--Erzsebet's already a colonizer stealing African secrets to boost her own powers, so the last thing I need is for her to have Drolta as her frikkn SLAVE. (She SEEMS fully cognizant at the end of the ep, so I hope this means she's ok.)
So I think Erzsebeta & the Abbot are 2 very interesting case studies wrt the degree to which love can redeem a p.o.s. person. I fully expect the Abbot to (try to) be redeemed, at least for the sake of fleshing out Maria's arc. But I think Erzsebeta's just going to get worse, thinking that her actions are fueled by "love," when it's really just her own shortsighted selfishness.
Time will tell!

I'm very glad you love it. There is one scene I had in mind for him taking a blow to the head that doesn't take out his internal speakers but does gouge open the side of his helmet. Meaning it's no longer sound proof for non super hearing people and those around him can hear the music flowing through his speakers. Of all things, he's currently listening to Beethoven's Virus. Which is an amazing song.
As for his speakers being fully turned off, I like that idea. Perhaps something similar where he takes a blow to the head and is now stumbling and tripping over his own feet? It would definitely be infront of the other members of the JLD, who have no idea he can't fight without music. They just see Dancing Belmont take a blow to the head and when he gets up, his visor is cracked and glitching and he can hardly walk a straight line. He tried to fling his whip at the enemy only to sweep his own legs out from under himself and take another nasty looking fall. He lays there for a few seconds before getting up and trying again, not hurting himself but missing by nearly a foot (due to Tim being mostly blind thanks to the visor glitching tf out.
I don't think they would just let him vanish like he normally does after a fight and is whisked off to the Watch Tower because he's clearly seriously injured. However he is violently protective of his helmet and even though he was just nearly limp in WW's arms to be carried there, the moment someone touched his helmet he starts swinging his fists. They have to sedate him and he's so glad he wore a domino under his helmet today.
Or maybe he doesn't have the domino and instead of connecting him to Robin, they connect him to Tim Drake. The Bats find out because they have programs in the watch tower that scan for any use of their civilian names Just In Case.
Yeah! I am super curious how everyone would react to his identity reveal or even just the secret that he needs music in order to utilize some of his skills. He's still scarily competent even without music. He just can't use the whip. Does the music help him recall information, or is it primarily about the fighting style?
I'll have to give that song a listen to when I'm not at work, lmao
It also makes sense for him to be protective of his helmet. Does he enchant anything on it (idk remember the magic setup of Castlevania, but that would work for DC magic)?

Either a Tekken anime series or animated movie series. I think Tekken has better potential as anime though. You can expand the story there and the character's arcs. their families and clans as well as other things. You can't do that much in a movie series although the animation would be better than what you'd get with an anime. Which do you think would be better?.
I think an anime - but for the love of God just make it about the games, not an adaptation (COUGH COUGH, NETFLIX)
I didn't like the Netflix Tekken anime, and I will make that very known - I didn't like really ANY of Netflix's animes. Tekken and Devil May Cry (I'm not going to shit on anybody who enjoyed the DMC anime, I just did not enjoy it), I haven't watched Castlevania but my dad says it's okay.
An anime, that actually is centered around the story, with actual canonical relevance would be great.

given that you are definitely not a vampire, what are your favourite vampire movies?
OH GOD. UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH I AM NOT A VAMPIRE I AM ALSO NOT A MOVIE WATCHER. IN FACT I HAVE NEVER WATCHED A MOVIE IN MY LIFE
everyone who talks to me regularly will tell you that i am notorious for not watching shows or movies. this may surprise you given the amount of show or movie content i reblog on tumblr dot com. however i have about four of each and it really caps out there. i am dying trying to remember any vampire movies that i have like. ever watched ever.
sinners was FANTASTIC. sound design... story... cinematography... gorgeous gorgeous film in all aspects. (<— girlfriend took me to see it)
nosferatu was a pleasant watch i enjoyed it! had a great time dressing up for it mostly (<— friends took me to see it)
have seen renfield! fine movie. not my favorite (<— my father was watching it and i sat in the room)
i have. seen. what we do in the shadows. it was funny. not much else to say about it unforch
saw vampires vs. the bronx. don't remember it very well but i think it was alright (<— family put it on during dinner)
i started bram stoker's dracula once but the characterization of lucy made me immediately so upset that i turned it back off
i can't remember any other vampire movies i have actually seen that aren't kids movies like hotel transylvania or the littlest vampire (which is actually rlly good i think. haven't seen it in a while.) i have been going through a wikipedia list of vampire movies i just don't watch movies though
have been meaning to watch the lost boys and a girl walks home alone at night and the iwtv movie forever? if that means anything?
crimson peak is a vampire movie. to meeeeeee (joke. i was really hoping it was vampires when i watched it... fantastic movie though i wanna watch it again. i am so enamored with the blood ghost)
in terms of shows. i enjoy. buffy the vampire slayer (liked the angel spinoff more though). castlevania (first couple seasons. hated everything after that. for what they did to my favorite vampire. haven't watched nocturne). amc interview with the vampire. um. vampire in the garden is short and gorgeous and heartbreaking. penny dreadful is fucking fantastic. and my favorite anime that nobody else likes (record of grancrest war) has a vampire king who appears very briefly to serve cunt and not really do anything else
