Do you write for other characters like bi han or tomas?
i do! i'm just mentally ill over johnny LOL
lin kuei trio > caught
the boys can't keep their eyes off of you! what're you gonna do about it?!
warnings: idk nothing much tbh, i guess a little nsfw at the end of smoke's part but nothing crazy, controversial bi-han take? kuai favoritism <3 & google translate
notes: pretend that bi-han's betrayal doesn't happen for his part. i rewrote this twice bc i kept accidentally clicking on notifs and forgetting to save. third time's the charm :3 also pls admire that i specifically made gifs of each man making eye contact w you teehee
masterlist <3
♡
bi-han >
•let me preface this by saying i heavily disagree with the headcanons of most of his fics. this man is ASS at verbalizing affection, and probably wants a trad wife to serve him. he won't call you "princess" or "doll," and PDA is not his strong suit. he'll love you of course, he just wouldn't show it with flowers and cuddles.
•that being said, all he could do was eye you down as you opened the front door, coming face to face with him, his brother kuai liang, and the fire god liu kang. your jaw opened and closed rapidly, trying to make sense of the two ninjas and man with glowing eyes.
•"uhh, there's no hunky ninja-themed bachelorette party here tonight," you say, raising an eyebrow. "try two houses down. lord knows they're a couple of freaks—" before you could close the door on them, bi-han reaches forward and sticks his foot in the door. liu kang, the primary voice of reason and supposed leader of the situation, asks to enter your home. you don't feel like you're in a position to decline.
•kuai liang wanders your living room, tracing his finger across your shelves and leaning in to inspect your paintings. liu kang stands in front of you, giving you the whole "earthrealm, fire god, tournament, chosen one" spiel, we all know how it goes. but you're struggling to focus, struggling pretty hard actually, because bi-han is literally standing like a statue at your kitchen island a few feet away, his icy glare seemingly stabbing through your skull. perhaps he's just intimidating you into an agreement. it works.
•you really hope that bi-han's staring ends there, but you are a damn fool.
•you train alongside the other recruited earthrealmers, taking a short break when you see a now-familiar trio stroll through the training grounds. yellow, grey... and blue. and even though their destination seems well past your location, bi-han literally could not tear his eyes away from you as you sat under the tree as you try to relieve yourself of the ruthless heat of the sun. he drinks in your damp form, and the way your hair sticks sweetly to your forehead. that is, until kuai liang gives him an obvious playful jab to his side, making bi-han snap forward and continue to lead his brothers, not before shooting him a nasty look. icy frost is noticeable on his fists as he clenches them.
•are you losing your mind? why the hell is the grandmaster of the lin kuei eating you alive with his eyes alone? you try to confide in your earthrealm partners, but raiden shrugs, kenshi's at a loss for words, and kung lao and johnny just laugh boisterously at your oblivious nature.
•finally, you're accompanying the lin kuei trio as they wait for instruction from liu kang regarding the soul stealing beacons. smoke and scorpion sit on the bench while sub-zero paces endlessly. each time he faces your way, he locks eyes with you. what is this guy's deal? it literally looks like he wants to skin you alive.
•kung lao and raiden permit them to enter liu kang's meeting room, and bi-han immediately struts off with a noticeable tinge of pink on his face. as the other two follow, you stop and grab kuai liang's shoulder gently, making him face you with surprised eyes.
•"pardon my hindrance, scorpion," you say with a quick bow. "but your grandmaster has been eyeing me down since as long as i've known him. is... is there something i did? something he is displeased with? i find it quite unnerving."
•kuai liang's face freezes, and then very clearly fights a shit-eating smirk. it's not typical for him to be as amused as he is now, but how could he resist when he could literally see what was going on? he chuckles for a moment.
•"bi-han thinks you'd make a good wife," kuai liang replies, a smile tugging at his lips. "please forgive his harsh expression. he couldn't shake it if he tried."
•with that, bi-han's younger brother turns on his heel and enters the mission debrief, leaving you beet red and suddenly completely understanding the signs after the fact.
•when the trio returns successful, you stop noticing his eye contact, because you're too embarrassed to even glance in his general direction. doesn't stop him, though.
♡
smoke >
•you were an initiate of the shirai ryu following its formation. disgusted by the betrayal of your former grandmaster, tomas and kuai liang beckoned you to carry on a new oath in a new chapter of the close-knit clan. you had not seen them much prior to this, but they didn't think to question your dedication.
•since reforming the clan and being given a higher position rather than a lowly grunt, your uniform changed. the once all-black, full-body uniform became something you could design. you opted for something a little more... breathable. think mk11 mileena.
•shut up i know ninja uniforms are like that for a reason just bear with me
•you decide to debut said outfit at a meeting over tea, strutting in and taking your seat with grace. tomas nearly chokes on his damn tea, a single puff of smoke shooting from his lips as he coughs. he wishes he had his mask on right about now, so he could conceal his reddening cheeks. you, his brother, and harumi look at him with partially perplexed, partially amused glances before moving on, hoping to save smoke from the embarrassment of being confronted.
•every time you leaned forward to point at the map centered on the table, tomas's eyes were glued to you. this poor man doesn't know what to do with himself when you're just so pretty! taking a gentle sip of your tea as kuai liang asks tomas about the new recruit, that hasashi boy, you glance up past the cup and realize tomas is quite literally giving you heart eyes, completely entranced. you chuckle to yourself. it is quite cute when he looks at you like that, lips parted and eyes gentle.
•"grandmaster," you say calmly, turning toward the pyromancer. "it seems your second-in-command missed your question. would you mind repeating yourself?" as you ask, tomas seemingly snaps out of it and tries to conceal his devious thoughts, putting his palm over his mouth and leaning on his elbow on the table.
•kuai liang groans to himself before repeating the question, one that tomas answers quickly and a little anxiously. he flashes you a sheepish smile. harumi giggles and look at the two of you knowingly.
•a long evening of training kicked your ass, and you decided you deserved a good rest in the nearby hot springs. fully confirming you're alone in the moonlight, you strip of your uniform and dip into the hot water. your tense muscles unravel at the warmth and you let out a pleased moan at the relief. the water reaches just above your breasts and you're about to lean your head back and close your eyes, letting the comfort of the water encapsulate you.
•that is, until you see a faint trail of smoke creep out from behind you and dip into the water around you. you smile knowingly, not even bothering to turn around.
•"tomas," you say, a hint of playful displeasure in your tone. "for a ninja, your stealth skills are starting to fall apart."
•your trained ears hear him freeze completely and let out a little gasp. tomas slips out a curse in his native language. now it's time to toy with your food.
•still in the water, you spin around and prop yourself up against the ledge of the hot springs, looking up at him seductively. tomas breaks from his deer in headlights pose and faces you, looking down and trying so incredibly hard to remain focused on your eyes, but it's just so hard when your breasts are right—
•"i've seen the way you look at me," you confess in a sultry voice. "i'm not a blind fool. it's incessant."
•"i-i didn't think you were," tomas stammers out, crouching down to be more eye level with you. "i meant no offense, you're just so... so—"
•"none taken," you chuckle, tilting your head. "were you going to be a peeping tom, or join me, then?"
♡
kuai liang >
•since being recruited for earthrealm's part in the tournament, kuai liang has paid more visits than probably necessary to run into you during your months of training.
•he'd be all like "omg heeeey what are youuuu doing hereeee" knowing damn well of your schedule (i'm lying i'm just in love with this yummy little s'more).
•though he would get into the habit of taking late night strolls around the wu shi academy to clear his mind. it was happenstance that you enjoyed the same habit.
•this man is huge and hunky, giving you comfort and safety as you navigate the moonlit paths of the land. he finds you to be a sweet conversation partner, carrying yourself with elegance and kindness that perfectly compliments his humble, noble spirit. you speak of a passion to fight for what is right, so focused on speaking and gesturing that you don't even realize kuai liang is staring down at you with utmost admiration. his heart warms (more than usual) at what a catch you are — for the tournament...!
•"tell me, scorpion," you speak up, looking up at him with eyes that could melt. "are you the only of your family to harness the power of fire?"
•"it is a long running ability in my family," kuai liang replies, confidently but with a gentle tone. "the methods in which we harness this power are a well-kept secret."
•"even so, scorpions don't burn," you reply quickly with an amused tone, grinning up at the man. you realize he was already looking down at you with a mirrored smile. "what makes you a scorpion?"
•"my strength and sting," he says as if he were reading a script. then again, he's probably been asked this hundreds of times. his brothers were icy sub-zero and hazy smoke, his name didn't exactly fit the narrative.
•as you part your lips to continue your conversation, a gust of wind makes you shiver and you let out a little gasp, instinctively wrapping your arms around yourself. kuai remains unfazed but takes note of your chilliness.
•"are you alright, xiǎo huǒhuā?" he asks with a hint of uncharacteristic concern. your face warms momentarily at the nickname, only to be reminded of the bitter cold with another gust of wind. it wasn't the first time he said that unfamiliar phrase, but you just never thought to ask about it. reflecting on it now, you're realizing it's a pet name. you rub your arms.
•"just... cold," you reply with a trembling lip. "times like these i wish i had your power." for the first time in a while, kuai liang breaks his gaze from you and looks down at his hands, debating whether or not to speak up. he didn't want to push any boundaries with you, as he genuinely enjoyed your presence. still, he decided he's only got one shot.
•"it's a power i'm willing to share," he replies lowly, sticking his hands out palms-up. you look up at him, hesitant about his offer. another gust of wind, harsher this time, pushes on your back and pulls you toward him. you catch yourself on his hands. they're so warm and inviting. they're not necessarily soft, but they feel comforting and... god, so warm. as you sigh with relief, you look up again and realize that, just like every time beforehand, kuai liang was looking down at you with a soft smile. he was just always warm as a pyromancer, heat creeping through his skin no matter the weather.
•you two had successfully broken the barrier of touch, and you continue to walk down the path. kuai holds both of your hands in one of his, the other wrapped around your shoulder and rubbing up and down your arm to keep you from being too chilly. it's a sweet embrace, one that neither of you want to fully unpack yet, but it's a step nonetheless.
•"why is it that every time i look at you, you're already looking at me?" you ask quietly, enamored by his embrace. kuai tenses up momentarily, feeling a little sheepish at the direct confrontation. he soon relaxes after finding the right words.
•"because you're beautiful, xiǎo huǒhuā," he replies gently, squeezing your arm and hands tenderly.
•"what does that word mean?" you ask, face flushed and entire body no longer concerned over the cold.
•"...little spark."
•and so, you two continue to walk down the path in the moonlight, now in his comforting, toasty embrace.

Jacob & Sam talking about queerness in IWTV.
A compilation of stuff they've said in interviews.
(Long post!)
A.V. Club
Q: The show is being hailed as unabashedly queer as compared to the film adaptation. Why was that important to both of you and the show’s creators?
SR: It’s what’s written in the book. We’re doing the book and it’s the way it’s supposed to be.
JA: It’s true to the story.
SR: It’s true to what Anne wanted and, yeah… it’s time.
JA: It would be rude not to.
SR: Yeah.
Comicbook
Q: How important was it for the two of you to get this aspect of the story (the queerness of the books) not only correct, but to tell the full breadth and aspect of this very unique relationship?
JA: (…) For one, we have to acknowledge that the books are very queer. I think that IWTV Louis is not talking about it, at least in terms of Lestat.
SR: Until you get to the second half of the book. By the second half of the book, Louis does sort of start to acknowledge that it was something more, which I think is such a cool… (…) I think the relationship, the way Louis describes it in the beginning is sort of like, is it subtext or has he acknowledged it or is he just angry with the way it worked out? But I really feel that as we go on, the text is the text. It’s very clear that they’re in love and that they’re in a romantic relationship. I don’t think we would be doing the Anne Rice universe or doing the Vampire Chronicles if that wasn’t the case. I think it would be something else. And it would be a waste of time for us too because the fun stuff comes from the complexities of the relationship and the dynamics and all the detail and nuance that they have. If we’re doing a “will they won’t they” or, like, subtle glances across the room then you spend all the time on that tension rather than the really complicated toxic dynamic that exists between the two of them.
JA: Yeah, and then also playing that off against that tension and the aftermath of some of those fights. It suddenly rebuilds this sexual and emotional tension. Like you said, you get to explore the breadth of a relationship. But yeah, they’re each other’s endgame, aren’t they? In the books, they always come home to each other. I think it’s telling that that seems to be the denouement or the end of a lot of the novels: Louis and Lestat being petty and in love.
Esquire (Sept '22)
Q: The 1994 film adaptation of Interview With the Vampire shied away from depicting the romance between Lestat and Louis. Your adaptation is very explicit; at one point, we even see Lestat and Louis have sex while levitating. Rolin Jones described this series as “an excitable, aggressive, toxic, beautiful love story.” What did that mean to you, finally getting to tell the story in its full, explicit sensuality?
SR: I was very happy it was going that way, because it wouldn't be Interview With the Vampire if it didn't. It’s really important that we explored that, because a big part of their relationship is this intense connection. Anne Rice describes drinking each other's blood as incredibly erotic, almost like having sex. So how do you translate that on screen? I guess nude levitation translates quite well. I think it's really important that we don't shy away from it, because if we spend the whole season going, "Will they? Won't they?," we don't get to the really interesting parts of this complex relationship. Getting straight down to it means we can look at the dynamics of this pair—how they hurt each other and how they build each other up.
JA: With the levitating scene, we talked a lot about how you need those moments of joy and excitement and romance so it's not all about tortured Catholic guilt. We've seen vampire stories told that way before, and like Sam said, you then can't get into the messiness of their relationship. You have to really believe. You have to know that these two people are in love. Being in love is complicated and beautiful and messy.
IFC Center
Q: Sam, from the beginnings of the vampire traditions in literature and theatre, there’s often been a gay subtext. But for this adaptation, subtext becomes text.
SR: Yeah, I would say it’s not subtext, cause in Anne Rice it’s pretty damn clear. So it’s not subtext becomes text, it’s just text is now being text. And I think, fuckin’ yeah, it should be. If we’re going to do Anne Rice, we might as well do Anne Rice properly.
SR (about Lestat’s otherness): He’s come from some pretty intense experiences where he’s learned the history of vampires and things like that. And Lestat has come over from Europe to get away from the catechism of humanity and the way that’s kind of slapped on top of the vampires. That it’s all about self-flagellation in Christianity, Catholicism, that we’re all monsters and as a monster you have to serve Christ by being a servant of the Devil. You’re a monster: wake up and serve Christ. Which is what he’s discovered in his past. And Lestat thinks “That is garbage, and I’d much rather have a good time and I’d much rather celebrate myself.” Because he didn’t get a choice, he didn’t get to choose to become a vampire, he was forced into it. And I think we comment on it on the show, that all vampires are born out of trauma and that’s why people identify with them so well. Because they are traumatic, painful beings – often there’s sexual trauma in it as well. So he’s come to New Orleans to get out of that, to start his own new life, really. I think his bisexuality, his pansexuality has always been a part of that character when he was human, before he was a vampire, and I think that’s something he’s always embraced. It’s also something that’s quite heavily embraced in the vampire world as well, so it’s a nice space for that to work. And then once you become a very powerful being, the mess of humanity, all of these rules and things, they don’t matter.
io9
Q: Why are vampires associated with queerness?
SR: It’s being an outsider but also owning it, and owning a space. And they’re sexy and cool. They’re awesome.
JA: There’s definitely as well something about growing up marginalised, and sometimes (…) you feel like you relate to the monsters more when you grow up othered. You feel like “Oh, this is supposed to be scary but this creature’s being treated the same way that I’ve been treated sometimes”. There’s just something very welcoming and comforting about that and I think those ideas exist together.
SR: And they also live life by their own rules, define their own terms. It’s their own space, it’s not within any conformity. And actually, in our show, we do that a lot, like “Why are you so interested in this bullshit human existence?” I mean, there’s so much more than being confined to one thing or being told that you’re one thing by society.
Pride.com
Q: In this version, the queer subtext is out the door, it is fully textual. Why do you think that was important for this version?
SR: I mean, it’s funny when we talk about subtext because, like, I was a fan of the books previous to being a part of it, and I can see why, particularly in the first book, it could be considered subtext. But I feel like, especially from the second book or even the second half of the first book, it’s really text. And so I feel like it wouldn’t be Anne Rice’s IWTV or Anne Rice’s universe or Vampire Chronicles if that wasn’t properly dealt with and addressed. And as soon as you get through the fact that they’re in a romantic relationship and that they love each other very deeply, then you get to really look at what the hell this relationship was about, what are the nuance and the complexities of it, cause it’s not as straightforward.
ScreenRant at SDCC 2022
SR: I’m really excited for Anne Rice fans to actually get to see Louis and Lestat in a romantic relationship, and we’re not shying away from that in any way, shape or form at all, and don’t even bother… It’s straight up from the very beginning.
Q: Can’t say they’re besties?
SR: Never. No, it’s love at first sight.
JA: They actually kind of don’t like each other. They’re just very in love.
SR: Yeah, very in love. I mean, it’s love at first sight and Anne was very clear about that, for Lestat at least. Had to do a bit of wooing to get him there, but he gets there. So I’m excited for people to see that, because everyone deserves it.
TV Guide
SR: You can see these two monsters, these two men, kissing under Jesus Christ like they’re supposed to be and like they’re valued and important in the eyes of God, and they’re loved; or like they’re the antichrist and they’re here to burn that church down.
TV Insider
Q: Sam, Louis and Lestat’s romance is made explicitly clear in this version, and other than it being loyal to the book, why do you think that’s important for a modern series?
SR: I mean, it’s what exists in the world. Sometimes you hear people say that we’ve made the subtext text when actually we’ve just gone back to the text. It exists. So it’s important to honour that because that’s what was written and that’s why a lot of people love these stories. This love story exists and it’s a complicated love story and they’re complicated monsters who are in love. It would be a real shame if we didn’t honour that.
Vanity Fair / Little Gold Men Podcast(June ’24)
Q: I know a lot of queer viewers who have been drawn to this show, because it’s telling this really unabashed and fluid queer story that’s also […] this bizarre melange of tones and ideas. That feels like something that this community hasn’t gotten a whole lot of, and I think that’s one of the reasons it’s resonated so strongly.
JA: And that’s what I mean. If there were people that didn’t know that we could do this, didn’t know that this existed, that there was this space. That’s where I’m excited for more people to watch it. I don’t want to generalize about areas of America or the UK, but there are areas where you don’t get access to it. I think we can be very London-centric, LA-centric, New York-centric, and only see that. I would love it if there’s a kid who really needs this and sees it and is like, “I’m going to do my own thing,” or that’s just like, “I’m going to go out into the world feeling a little bit more comfortable in my skin today.” That’s beautiful.
Time Out (August ’24)
Q: It’s a LGBTQ+-centred story. Is it important to you to be a part of queer narratives?
JA: It’s unapologetic about its queerness and that’s beautiful. I see so many stories that skirt around things because they don’t want to offend anyone. My character is a Black creole man and he’s queer and he’s kind of awful, but those things aren’t all tied in together. For me, that’s the dream of representation: that our behaviour isn’t entirely tied in with our identity.

SPOILER WARNING FOR AOT JUST SOME OF MY RAMBLES
English is not my first language please don't be mean okay thank you <3
honestly I didn't hate eremika as much as I thought I would- both of them are emotionally immature idiots who feel a lot but have no idea how to deal with said feelings. their relationship is definitely a lot of wasted potential but idk they are cute in their own imperfect and somewhat uneasy way. was that ending scene weird definetly but like eh gothic romance fan I've read and seen much worse things and called it peak romance so it's like weird but like okay also im very drunk slightly tipsy and I just finished aot just cuz I wanted to feel something and man I feel a lot of things also I think there might be a cultural difference too because in the west it's all like gulululu sloppy kiss gulululu fucking and like I grew up with old Bollywood romance where mfs don't even kiss so stolen glances and flushed cheeks and "ill always wrap your scarf over and over again" means wayyyy more than an infinite number of kisses. I get why people don't like it but yea I like them they are so fucking embarrassing and stupid. Eren's randi rona (hindi phrase exact translation is whore crying but semantics is probably bitch whining) was so funny and pathetic i've never laughed so hard but it is embarrassing in a way that makes so much sense for this suicidal maniac. I thought I would hate mikasa because I linger in the subreddits because social media kalesh and lafda is something I feed off of like a vampire sucking blood after escaping the coffin that held them for centuries (kalesh/lafda is hindi for fights) anyways so silly goofy fun idk what y'all are on about she's so kool not really a Mary Sue because she sucks at emotional intelligence and as a leader like definitely too driven by feelings but tbh I love that about her and her bond with other characters is so precious to me. I get why she's unlikable she is so flawed but idk I love her. the fanfic writers are so mean to her like oh my god why is she always this weird obsessed stalker that gets in the way of eren and y/n and historia is always someone y/n is insanely jealous of like please why can't we all be best friends and braid each other's hair
A little something about erehisu too- tbh I don't think its obsessive desperate fan behaviour like it's a very good ship imo. I have mixed feelings about it but idk lowkey makes sense. not in a "these people are great for each other and will be so cute as more than friends" way but more like a "oh wow they have a lot going on, they are good friends and the people they love are people they can't be with so it would make sense if they both are emotionally vulnerable enough that they end up doing something" kinda way. would've definitely made it more interesting because I thought sidelining a character like historia who had so much potential would hopefully have a bigger meaning and some greater part of Eren's plan but no bro is an idiot who has no idea what he is doing.
Mixed feelings about historia too- I liked her arc but the amount of plot armour that surrounds her kinda pisses me off. also the irl jaegerists and incels on reddit are so annoying they've made her into chaderen loser's trad wife who sits at home with the baby and shakes her head with a disapproving pout when he returns home after genocide like I know for a fact canon historia would be disgusted by this narrative. also oh my god the lengths these people go to prove that her relationship with Ymir was just a one sided obsession and not a lesbian romance is insane. like yea historia doesn't have to be lesbian she could be bi but that relationship was definitely mutual and romantic
I have sooo much more to say maybe when im sober ill organise everything and make it pretty but im in my senior year of high school with like no time on my hands so idk will see please stick with me but always thank u for reading meri jaan have a lovely day/night :))

Digimon Girls Festival (Image Songs)
It's been awhile since I've done a post about "audio-only" Digimon media. Digimon has so many of these!! If you're curious this site seems like a good place to see all the info about the albums out there. Digimon-Basic is where you're going to want to go if you want to download the albums, but most of them are on YouTube too. I gotta say, this fandom is nothing if not super well documented! I'm impressed.
Loving the cover art for this (why do they all look like they're going to different parties though?) As you can see, this is a collection of image songs for all of the girls from Adventure, 02, and Tamers. No Frontier, unfortunately :'( With most anime, characters get 1-2 image songs, with Digimon they get like 5 for some reason (spread across different albums).
Image Songs
Ruki Makino - My Style (Listen here subbed)
A very fitting song for Ruki in terms of the edgy rock n roll style and her singing about wanting to stay true to herself. I found her singing about wanting wings to be pretty random though. I feel like they just stick that in anime songs cuz it sounds cool lol (I think one or two of the other image songs talked about wanting wings).
Favorite line was "I don't want to imitate anyone, I want to be me." I feel like what Ruki is struggling with is that she does care what people think of her a lot (hence her angsty facade) but really wants to break free of that and be her true self.
The lyrics were kinda poorly translated grammatically, but I've tried to translate Japanese song lyrics before...it's super hard. I feel like some things just end up sounding dumb in English and it might be better to go the localization route instead of direct translation (if this were an official thing).
Miyako Inoue - Yamato Nadeshiko Panic (Listen here subbed)
Damn, it's a good thing I know what a yamato nadeshiko is or else this song would seem pretty weird. The subber decided to translate yamato nadeshiko as "japanese woman" which...sort of makes sense but it leaves out so much context. To be fair...it's a tricky one (as I said in the previous bullet, translaton is hard!)
Anyways, this song wasn't super interesting. It was basically Miyako singing about how she wants to be an elegant, "ideal" woman. Low key trad wife vibes lol Nothing wrong with wanting to be a good wife/partner, it's just not something I relate to 😅
I feel like I never fully got a grasp on Miyako's character. The only thing I remember is that she was a fangirl and kinda boy crazy. There was an episode about how she's really outspoken I think?
Sora Takenouchi - Sky-Blue Wind (Listen here subbed)
It seems like a lot of these songs are about not being honest with yourself. It's all very Japanese lol. Sora is singing about putting on a brave face for the sake of her friends. I guess that's fitting since we did see her run away when she was upset in the anime.
She sings that she "likes her role" as the optimistic one...reminds me of Ted Lasso and Waymond from Everything Everywhere All At Once. I can't tell if this kind of outlook is admirable or deeply unhealthy.
Shaochung Lee - My Future (Listen here subbed)
This one was disappointing because I liked Shaochung. It was a super unimaginative song about Shaochung wanting to grow up. Like...I guess that makes sense, but it's a very obvious and lazy choice (with her being the youngest). Maybe she could have sung about her relationship with her brother or Lopmon/Terriermon?
I did think the "I can't see the after-10pm world" line was pretty cute/clever
Hikari Yagami - Reflection (Listen here subbed)
According to fandom wikis, this is a response to the Takeru song Focus which I wrote about here. I still feel weird about these two songs. Why would they depict Takeru and Hikari as a couple when that wasn't in the source material (imo)? I don't remember the 02 epilogue saying anything about them being together! Maybe the image songs aren't canon lol
There's something funny about Hikari calling Takeru's eyes beautiful when I just picture them as generic anime eyes. I guess blue eyes would be something to sing about in Japan. (I actually think Hikari's light brown eyes are prettier).
Juri Katou - The Color of Someday (Listen here subbed)
Sheeesh this one was dark (I mean...to be expected). It sounded to me like Juri was singing about being depressed and anxious, unsure how to live a "normal" life. The color in the title refers to that "normal" future that she wants to achieve.
A lot of the song seemed to be about masking and being afraid to show any vulnerabilities to the world. She also says she doesn't understand what love is or how to love (probably cuz of her crappy parents).
Looking back on it, I kinda wish they had foreshadowed Juri's darker side better in Tamers. She started out as such a goofy, comic relief character that her breakdown felt less real to me (also, I cared less because my brain had already categorized her as "generic background comic relief girl."). If they had shown a tiny hint of a crack in her facade sooner, it probably would have made her more interesting.
Good morning/Goodnight Calls
(These should be easy to find, they're in the same playlist as the videos above)
I don't really know what the point of these are, going to be honest. The album contains random voice lines (around 20 seconds each) of the girls saying good morning and goodnight. It reminds me of those Vtuber voice packs. Personally, I'm a big fan of Japanese oddities like this, but they seem very niche.
I thought the appeal would be to pretend that the characters are talking to me, but in the first voice clip Ruki is addressing her grandma...guess I could pretend to be her grandma lmao
Okay, Sora's wake up/goodnight call literally sounds like waifu bait (very breathy)...which is strange considering she's an elementary schooler. Who was this made for?
Some of these would make decent alarm sounds, if you're into that sorta thing. I think it would get very annoying very fast to have an anime girl yelling at me first thing haha
Sora and Miyako's were so vague and general that they could have been from any series. No mention of digimon or anything like that.
Why is Mimi showing up now but didn't get an image song? Wasn't she the singer of the group!? (Her voice lines were very shrill, my ears are bleeding lol)
Hearing cheerful!Juri after listening to her song feels...uncomfortable
I wonder if these were just improv'd on the spot. I want more backstory.

Rules: Put your On Repeat playlist on shuffle and post the first ten songs that show up.
"Moon Sign Gemini" by State Faults - been really getting into these guys lately. Chaotic post-hardcore that has really strong melodic moments to break up all the noise. This song is only like a minute long so I always have to listen to it like 4 times in a row, it's so good
"We Know the Score (feat. Pain of Truth)" by Stand Still - maybe my favorite song off the debut Still Standing LP. They're from Long Island, NY and they SOUND like it -- that really strong, melodic hardcore inflected emo that bands like The Movielife and early Brand New. Super fun, very catchy, still aggressive.
"Maybe It's Me" by Four Year Strong - speaking of melodic hardcore! "Easycore" if that term doesn't make you cringe out of your skin. The new FYS album is bold and weird and really, really charming. This song has one of the most infectious riffs of the year, imo. Can't get enough.
"fleahouse" by Static Dress - so everything from 20 years ago is having a comeback and emo-influenced metalcore (or metalcore-influenced emo?) is no exception. Of all the new young bands peddling this brand of nostalgia, I think Static Dress might be doing it the best. Perfect ratio of clean to harsh vox, very melodic but still hard enough to get you headbanging a little. Could have been a Taste of Chaos band in '08, for sure.
"The Joke" by Coheed and Cambria - you know what let's not talk about this one
"You're Part of It" by Ben Quad - been getting really into Ben Quad lately! As well established by now, this has been my emo renaissance year. Ben Quad are a lot more midwest emo influenced, great noodly guitars. This song goes pretty hard. It's got such an incredible build-up, I keep this on repeat sometimes just so I can get to the end again and again
"Puntería (feat. Cardi B)" by Shakira - Absolute certified jam- fun beat, lyrics that make me blush even though i'm not fluent enough to translate everything, makes you bop around every time it comes on. My family's mexican, I'm from a very Latino neighborhood - when there's a new Shakira record, especially one as drama-laden as this, you hear it. Super fun
"Vigilantes" by Angel Sword - FINISH HEAVY METAL. I was fucking obsessed with this record for like all of July and a good chunk of August. Just fun, grimy, greasy trad metal. Jean jacket music, you feel me? The riffs are very bright and melodic and I really love the vocals - kinda rough around the edges in a way that's really charming to me. This song is 100% perfect, wouldn't change anything about it.
"The Peopling of London" by Maritime - got back into this album this year. Fun little indie rock jam from 2011, a band made of guys who used to be in The Promise Ring and the Dismemberment Plan.
"I'm Content With Losing" by Underoath - 20th anniversary tour for They're Only Chasing Safety is this year and I'm soooooo excited. It's been a fun record to revisit, very nostalgic and rewarding now this far away to see HOW big an impact it had on the scene at the time. I mean, that Static Dress song further up the list sounds the way it does BECAUSE of this band (fun fact: they're opening that tour lmao). Anyway, good shit. I love it.

Reading Wrap Up | October - December 2023 + 2023 Recap
One more year has gone by, I almost can't believe it and yet it's already time to review how the year was.
[Jan-March] [April-June] [July-Sept]
Code: books read in English are in black, books read in Spanish in red, books read in French in blue & books read in Portuguese in purple.
OCTOBER (3)
West With the Night - Beryl Markham -> 4/5
Desencajada - Margaryta Yakovenko -> 3/5
Death and the Penguin - Andrey Kurkov, trad. George Bird -> 2.5/5
My favourite was definitely Markham's: as a British woman in colonised Kenya, I was wary of starting her memoir, but it actually was a really pleasant surprise. Her love for the country where she grew up in was palpable with each description of the land and the sky, and her life as a rancher, horse trainer, and chartered pilot was fascinating and full of adventures. Desencajada was a good insight into the life of a second-generation immigrant, but it was too similar to Supersaurio (by Maryam El Mehdati), which I read earlier in the year, to offer anything different. Kurkov's book was curious, but not enough for me to really recommend it.
NOVEMBER (4)
O Alquimista - Paulo Coelho -> 2/5
The Intimacy Experiment (The Shameless Series #2) - Rosie Danan -> 4/5
Greek Mythology: The Gods, Goddesses, and Heroes Handbook: From Aphrodite to Zeus, a Profile of Who's Who in Greek Mythology - Liv Albert (ilustrado por Sara Richard) -> 3/5
The Housekeeper and the Professor - Yoko Ogawa, trad. Stephen Synder -> 3/5
Coelho's was for a book club and it was as simple and as bland as I expected, but it was my first ever book read in Portuguese so yay for a landmark! Rosie Danan's was great, and I actually added her new book to my TBR because in just two books she's become a trusted author for romance.
DICIEMBRE (7)
A Viagem do Elefante - José Saramago -> 3.5/5
Infocracy: Digitalisation and the Crisis of Democracy - Byung-Chul Han, trad. Daniel Steuer -> 4/5
My Roommate is a Vampire - Jenna Levine -> 2.5/5
Demigods & Magicians (Percy Jackson + The Kane Chronicles) - Rick Riordan -> 3/5
In Bed with the Stablemaster (The Rogue Files #6.5) - Sophie Jordan -> 2.5/5
¿Para qué sirve realmente la ética? - Adela Cortina -> 2/5
Le Testament Français - Andreï Makine -> 2/5
December was very good in terms of numbers but not in terms of quality. Infocracy was super interesting and I do really recommend it as a good intro treatise on contemporary debates about democracy and information. Saramago's was also fun if a little overlong, and as usual Riordan is a good comfort read. But the rest of them? I've already forgot what they were about, definitely meh.
As usual, if you want to have a chat about anything I read just send me a message!
Yearly Recap
[Hello 2023 post]
Reading (at least) 55 books [59/55]
12 books in French [4/12]
12 books in Spanish [12/12] [Plus several books translated into Spanish!]
12 non-fiction books [11/12] [So close and yet so far...]
12 LGBTQ+ books [3/12]
12 books by European writers (excluding British ones) [10/12]
12 books by African/Afro-Caribbean writers [1/12]
12 books by Asian writers [3/12]
4 books by writers from Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, etc.) [1/4]
4 books by Latin American writers [4/4]
Okay, so I didn't do THAT great in my goals, actually. A couple of them were reeeeeally close, but some others were so far away it's actually a little embarrassing. But oh well, we live and we learn, and we try again...
I'm actually fairly happy with how my reading year went, even if I didn't manage to read one single 5-star book in the whole year (something to improve for next year for sure!). I think that after a couple of years of stallment and block, I'm really getting my groove back and I'm really excited for what the new year will bring! I have also been curating my TBR this past month to make sure everything on it brings me joy, and now all of my picks excite me. I can't wait to get to them in 2024; you can follow my reading adventures over in GoodReads if you want to take a look at my shelves :)
I hope you all close out 2023 in style and have a wonderful start to 2024. May it bring happy adventures and many good books!

Stars of Chaos 杀破狼
Vol 2, Notes 3, pages 63 - 87
Another ten pages of notes!
Like I've posted before, Priest has more plot than I have reading comprehension, but, after a few rereads, I think I know what's going on.
In case you are in my same boat but you can't read my handwriting: Fu Zhicheng was originally a bandit, so the emperor at the time (the previous one) was worried (with good cause); but Fu Zhicheng was still given command because there was no other option at the time -- no one else was strong enough to hold the area.
土地公. Soil God. Local god.
I learn all my Chinese Mythology and Religion via trying to understand Priest novels.
静虚 Silent Empty. It's a very good name for a Daoist monk.
穿一条裤子 Wear one pair of pants. Isn't that super evocative? :)
And yet another place where I feel that the original paragraph break would have been very helpful for reader comprehension.
"Consolatory" = to console him on the loss of his mother.
It's the same poem referenced on page 54.
In the version I first read, the implication was that the wooden bird was there the entire time, and you only noticed it as it was flying away.
望穿秋水 look, penetrate, autumn water ( autumn water = "trad. description of girl's beautiful eyes" according to mdbg.net).
Nice way to describe looking at/for something really intently, yah?
Yet another sentence that was not in the (pirated) online version that I read. It doesn't really matter, I know, but I lived in that book for a year, so, well. It wasn't there before.
Another possibly different version, plus different ways to translate 冷笑 (if that is what was in the newer edit given to the translators).
In the version I read, there is no mention of facial expressions; Chang Geng just acts.
If Priest added a 冷笑 (I think that phrase has been used with Chang Geng before), then I would translate that as a Bitter Smile or a Cold Smile rather than as a sneer, since, in my head, only yucky villains sneer, and Chang Geng is a super elegant handsome symmetrical graceful mastermind who sadly but frequently lifts the corners of his mouth without any warmth reaching his eyes.
绊马索 trip horse rope.
Top:
男鬼 male ghost/monster/zombie (some type of supernatural being, derogatory)
...pulverizing the double layer of iron. Those mech-suits are Thick.
Bottom:
远在天边,近在眼前。 Far as the side of the sky, close as in front of the eyes. <3
And that's another ten! Just 44 more to go... :)

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers!
tagged by @rongzhi, thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? A cool 137 works! I have about 80 more on my ff.net account.
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 1,614,083 yoooo
3. What fandoms do you write for? I write for a lot of different fandom because I like to write one or two pieces for every show/movie/manga/anime I enjoy. These days it's mainly BLs and Naruto.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Flip the Coin, Naruto. 37 chapters - 329,138 words - 9,296 kudos
We'll Make a Home out of it (Brother to You Part 1), Naruto. 5 chapters - 20,825 words - 5,808 kudos
Ajar Hearts, MDZS. One shot - 7,421 words - 5,006 kudos
You Were Born Today (I'm Grateful) (Brother to You Part 2), Naruto. 7 chapters - 25,934 words - 4,596 kudos
It Takes a Village (To Make a Village) (Brother to You Part 3), Naruto. 7 chapters - 55,154 words - 4,557 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do respond to every comments or close to it, usually with a few days/weeks delay. I like to get replies to comments, so I give them out too. Usually the reply matches the length of the comment. I like this link with the readers and I want them to know I'm out there haha.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably These Violent Delights Have Violent Ends since it's a Malec Romeo & Juliet AU... Slightly different ending but still terrible.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Most of my fics have happy endings since they're just one shot of people being happy after all the angst. But I guess it would be Ending, Beginning since the whole point is to write my ideal happy Naruto epilogue.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not consistently. I've had a few repeated offenders on Naruto fics and the occasional not very polite comment, but nothing major.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Not at all, I never have. It usually fades to black, or it's very tame. Like sex does happen in some of my fics but it's never explicit.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? The only proper crossover I did was Stranger Things x X-Men with Eleven attending the Institute.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I have, someone started to post Flip the Coin on ff.net at some point without mentioning me anywhere. Was warned by a reader. There is also an audio version of it in spanish on youtube for some reason, I never went to the bottom of that...
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, a few! Mostly some Malec stuff in Russian, and some Spanish too. And I translated some of my own fics myself between French and English.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, never. Did some RP though does it count.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? The ship of my heart is Naruto n Sasuke 4ever, otherwise my faves vary.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? The one I'm most torn over is Start Digging because I was really into it and had quite a bunch planned, but the fandom deserted my heart for some reason. If I get back into MHA I might pick it up, but so much happened since then... Otherwise I don't write a lot of multi-chaptered fics and I tend to write one shots in one go and post them immediately so I don't have that many WIPs.
16. What are your writing strengths? Big Feels I think? And emotional dialogues. That's what I enjoy anyway.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Fight scenes because I hate them. And also I feel like my vocabulary is not very varied since English is not my first language, sometimes I have the impression that I use the same words ten times in one fic...
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I do it if the other is not supposed to understand it, I like it. But I only ever did it with language I had a grasp on, it would feel strange to just google trad some stuff. If I can't and it's not that relevant I would just put "they said something in that language" or something like that.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Weirdly enough it was the manga/anime Get Backers. I went on a deep dive in search of this fic since I deleted it from my ff.net account a long time ago, and thus abandoned this post for several days, but I can't find it sadly. It was a self-insert.
20. Favorite fic you've written? I like my work a lot and reread it frequently. The ones I enjoy the most vary with time, but I have to say Flip the Coin for the sheer size and work that went into it and the audience it got. A true accomplishment in my book :)
Tagging @convenientalias, @morathicain and all the writers passing by :)

hey i’m an artist just starting out and i was wondering if i could use your art as ref/practice? i won’t post it anywhere it would just be for help, but i know some people are uncomfortable with that, thanks xx
hello! i'm not really comfortable with that, i appreciate that you like my work but i can't control what you do with it once you've copied it and thats a little dicey but what i Can do is give you some recommendations
firstly if you like my art you'll probably also like a lot of american traditional tattoo art, which is a Fantastic source of reference material for 2 reasons - 1. since the dawn of tattooing artists have been using this exact same set of images and reworking them over and over to the bone, so you dont need anybody's permission to copy the classics directly/add your own spin on them - check out sailor jerry or ed hardy for classics, and you can find about 10 billion artists on instagram/wherever repeating the same trad images in new+different ways
2. trad gives you a pretty solid sense of how to stylize and simplify any subject, see it for its underlying shapes, and translate those shapes into your own shapes
having an art style is basically just about translation and shapes - as you develop a style you start to understand the types of shapes that are satisfying to you technically, and you learn to see references for the shapes they're made up of, and you translate those shapes into your own style. the sooner you develop the ability to do that the better off you'll be as an artist
i wish u luck and good art making

So I can't help but notice an overlap between pro-ana content and so-called "trad" stuff (using the term trad loosely here). Not only is it worrying but it baffles me how the same girls who claim to respect femininity and fertility would encourage other girls to starve themselves. Like, don't eating disorders lead to infertility?
Most tradies are larping, anon.
Deep down, they aren't about that life. Ask yourself why people sheeting about modern society & technology are stuck on their phone/social media 24/7... They are the biggest NEET and would be the lower barrel of society if the internet wasn't there to cope out of their absence of personality by LARPing an entire identity.
It's like those NLOG seething about male emasculation/getting "effeminate" (male cosmetics, softness, etc.) but frown upon women not shaving. Sorry bestie but you can't seethe about men caring about their appearance (calling it an anti masculinity agenda, whatever) only to turn around and look down women not doing their nails or not shaving.
Radfem are totally right when they say what's 'naturally' reinforced onto women (make up, shaving, spending ridiculous amounts of money and time on external appearance) is seen as ridiculous, shameful and insulting for men - it's really messed up when you're thinking about it. If make up being shoved onto men is an "agenda", what are the beauty injunction for women...? Those trad nlog will never answer that question.
They pretend to love nature and authenticity but HATE when any of this translate onto the human body.

Heyy! How are you doing? Something that I wonder a lot and I see different angles floating around.. do you see Alucard as old fashioned, able to keep up with the times or a mix of both? In the manga he seems to be a mix but I would like to hear your thoughts... like he seems to keep up with technology but Im wondering when it comes to language (would he know the trendy words), would he watch Youtube, how would he court someone hes interested in (would he be the trad gentleman), would he play video games, would he wear more trendy clothing in a non professional setting, etc...
Ohhh I love talking about this subject!
I'm not fluent in Japanese, but between the official translation and the sub's dialogue, Alucard varies between old, formal speech patterns to crude, modern patterns, sometimes in the same scene. In the English version of the manga, and to a lesser extent, he uses shorthand words like "Do ya wanna come with me?" to Seras and "What are ya gonna do? Chew me to death?" to Anderson. His fashion sense is an interesting example of hybridization over the years, too. I posted about this earlier tonight, but he's usually in an upscaled state of dress, with a lot of influences from the (then) newer goth subculture. His short hair is very 80's goth, now called "trad goth". When it's long, it's usually long, straight, and sleek which was very typical of goth hair goals in the 90's. He's typically in black and red, and almost ALWAYS in a trench coat of varying styles. And then you have his leather gimp suit.
But to answer a specific question in your ask, I think he probably has a hard line between his taste and trends. I think he would flat out refuse to wear jeans and a t shirt, or Satan forbid, a hoodie or track suit. No trainers/sneakers. I do think he'd wear a less formal button down with a leather jacket, modern trousers and Docs. I'd pay good money to commission someone to draw him dressed as such.
His glasses are antique climbing glasses, polarized and designed to keep light out of his eyes. His crimson duster is very Victorian inspired, but his double breasted suits are VERY 90's and in fashion. In 1943 he was en vogue as well, and his Thompson was also very modern. His .454 Casull is custom designed based on a 1911 Colt pistol. He knows how to dial long distance, has the Hellsing manor phone number memorized most likely, he knows how to fly a top of the line fighter jet. I think it's safe to say he is ahead of the curve on military and warfare technology, but I think it's reasonable to expect him to be able to use most household technology. I have a persistent headcanon that started out as a joke that he finds entertainment in computer games that let him build and construct things, then break them down on a catastrophic level. I think each example of these sort of games would be entertaining only as long as it took for him to build something really well and then destroy it. There's a youtuber that makes videos of all sorts of insane ways to slowly kill a household of Sims, and that's the kind of energy I think suits him and video games, but he definitely wouldn't play them very often. And don't forget his fever dream constructed entirely of modern American action film callbacks. I bet he LOVED Fifth Element, but then I headcanon he probably thinks sci-fi is pretty fun, too. I don't think he watches Youtube for entertainment, but anything he can't figure out himself he knows how to find on Youtube and he picks up on instructional things very quickly because of his intellect. Even as a human, he was a gifted strategist.
I think while he's adaptable to the times, he has a high appreciation for a lot of older things. I wouldn't say traditional, because he's anything but. I can see him being comfortable at high end lounges, pubs, or modern nightclubs. Men dressed like Alucard frequent goth clubs pretty frequently, too, so I don't think he'd be out of place there either. I think he'd enjoy the vibe more than a trendy nightclub.
He's probably pretty capable of casually picking someone up at a modern nightclub, but serious courting is probably very old school. His (now) Romanian culture has survived in some aspects; he always shows up to pick the object of his affection with spirits, flowers, or food.
He opens doors and covers the check unless the other party(ies) insist otherwise. I would say he's very non-traditional in that he sees himself as the submissive party or servant to his partner's whims or pleasure. Serving his partners gives him great satisfaction, and he would never try to instill any level of control over his partner. So, really I guess based on my own experience of phasing out of youth culture, I imagine he cherry picks things he likes from different periods and there's probably some habits he's retained from his long life even unconsciously. But he's smart, and definitely capable of adapting to his surroundings within reason.

Can Say
Stuff around, candles, random old photo.
I can be proud of myself. Getting some writing down, some sent to the ancient computer. Things look fairly well. I'm trying to get back into the regular habit of writing. I'm not an author or a writer but I have something to share. My new therapist is very interested in hearing more. Though, he's very young compared to me, probably about 15 years my junior. Maybe more.
Well, it's weird - it seems like ppl are getting into the muertos again! Is it a phase or genuine curiosity? I'm*dying* to know! 😅 I'm silly. Anyhow, maybe ppl will get more into Ouija boards, seancés, automatic writing, clairvoyance? Dunno. Things from the 133.3 section of the library. 😊
I'm doing great with my magic work, for a client. I haven't lost my touch! Got hired on for longer work. Results are good! 💀I have another job lined up. The trabajo figo candle I used worked fantastic. I love Botanica Mas Alla. I have the best & most timely response from their products. The site is in Spanish. I think there is a translated portion, but I prefer Spanish.
I can't say what my work is for now, but I'm using regular candles in glass, fixed with my oils, herbs & blood. The outside has special sigils created by me & my muerto. To enhance the job. I do a lot of things that most witches of today have no clue about unless they read books made out of *paper.* Lol! And books that were written more than 40 years ago. 😊
These books are alll 50+ years old.
It's not airy fairy bullshit. It's before that trend took over. You may find these at a used book shop like I did. I just happen to find all of the good old books. 😊 My first collection was better. This one is okay. I used to have books on Trad Craft which was cool. I'll get them all back, someday.
Lol. These writers are really good. The shit now looks like a freshman in high school wrote it. No offense, but the grammar of today is terrible and remarkable for being inadequate & poor.
So, I'll be writing here sometime here soon, today or tomorrow & I'll be sped. It will likely be a lot of words!

This is something I can't shut up about no matter how alone I am and how much of a fucking nobody nuisance I am.
I started crying in rage NOT LIKE THAT ITALIAN PIECE OF SHIT "BOXER" when I saw the picture of Imane. This fucks me up on so many levels. I'm hormonally intersex as well and I love boxing as well. In fact I have boxing training, MMA. Boxing, Muay, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. But I always loved boxing the most because I love Muhammad Ali, THE GOAT. THE HEAVYWEIGHT GOAT, THREE CONSECUTIVE TIMES HEAVYWEIGHT LINEAL CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. STILL UNRIVALLED. THREE TIMES WORLD CHAMPION. AND DEFENDED THAT TITLE NINETEEN FUCKING TIMES. CLARESSA SHIELDS IS CURRENTLY THE HEAVYWEIGHT GWOAT (AND SHE PREFERS THAT TITLE BECAUSE MUHAMMAD ALI IS HER INSPIRATION). 29 YEARS OLD AND SHE IS ALREADY THE ONLY PERSON IN BOXING HISTORY TO HAVE ALL FOUR MAJOR TITLES (WBA, WBC, IBF AND WBO) AND HAS TITLES IN FIVE DIFFERENT WEIGHT CLASSES. FIVE. FUCKING FIVE. AND SHE'S VENTURING INTO MMA NOW AND ALREADY KICKING ASS.
I'm fucking shaking in rage this really is personal. My favourite matches to watch are obviously heavyweight and my two faves are the above, but I also like welterweigt middleweight and lightweight (look that up I can't now sorry it demands translating weights and those vary from men to women). I'm an actually transmasc intersex person and I am also forced to conform because I can't come out it's not safe for me in a poor family in a rural background in the mediterranean. This fucking hurts to see. I am not saying Imane isn't cis but WE ALL KNOW THAT THIS WAS DONE TO PERFORM TO THE MASSES BECAUSE OF THE BULLYING AND THE VILE HARASSMENT THAT COULD HAD ENDED UP WITH HER KILLED IN HER HOMELAND. And I'm in the closet for safety reason so I relate and this hurts really badly because I love boxing and I loathe that white bitch the hatred with a thousand burning suns and the destructive force of a million atomic bombs. God she is affiliated with politicians that's why this racist transphobic piece of shit sore loser was there to begin with. She said she'll quit boxing AND GOOD but the damage is done. And you want to know what else?
SHE IS ON THE VERY LIMIT OF THE CUT OFF BETWEEN LIGHTWEIGHT AND WELTERWEIGHT. SHE IS SIX KILOGRAMS HEAVIER THAN IMANE. LET THAT SINK IN. SIX KILOGRAMS HEAVIER THAN A REAL LIGHTWEIGHT WOMAN BOXER. IMANE'S ONLY ADVANTAGE IS REACH AND HEIGHT WHICH ANY BRAIN DEAD IDIOT WHO KNOWS THE FIRST THING ABOUT BOXING KNOWS IS PART OF THE STATS. PLEASE LOOK IT UP IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME. SHORTER FIGHTERS ARE USUALLY INFIGHTERS MEANING THEY FIGHT CLOSE TO THE OPPONENT INSIDE THEIR REACH TO GET RID OF THE REACH ADVANTAGE. BUT THAT MEDIOCRE LOSER HAD TO PULL THAT BULLSHIT.
And just to end this fucking thing.
Here's Claressa Shields.
And here's me. (Junior Featherweight based on AGAB)
Why do they always want us lighter and smiling? Don't bother answering. I know why. And I'm pale because they fucking ran out of melanin or something. My brother is darker than Imane and most people in my family are dark-skinned.
TERFs can all go to hell and explode. Their feminism is the same ideology as the INCEL ideology and they can fucking choke on it. Just because you're a "female", doesn't mean you get to repackage your trad wife, "women of value" bullshit and call it feminism. Fuck you.
That is all.
so terfs are basically saying, women need to wear makeup at all times, especially before Olympic level boxing.
which is a very feminist viewpoint, btw. women really need to wear makeup, a thing which is designed to make you look as white as possible, before sporting events, before going outside. God forbid you look like this before OLYMPIC LEVEL BOXING

Τύχη (and 3)
Dear Caroline:
The Wheel of Fortune was a very popular meme in the Catholic Middle Ages, which you'll probably remember well from your trad background. In this regard, I highly recommend our poet Juan de Mena and his masterful Laberinto de Fortuna. Perhaps it has a decent English translation.
Luck is sometimes depicted as an excuse that the lazy and the risk-averse coin to justify their lack of success. I don't quite agree with this: while it is generally used in this manner, there is some truth to the fact that very small chance events have a disproportionate amount of influence in most of our outcomes. Things like talent and hard work go a long way to hedge our bets, but nothing is ever guaranteed in life, no matter how much one thinks one deserves it.
I bring this up in this concluding post of three because you had a singularly bad turning point that has affected you ever since. I suppose you have tormented yourself a lot with thinking what might have happened if Sam hadn't opened up in that fateful cafeteria meeting in which he broached the topic of Alameda, or if you had done some previous 'due diligence' and heard Tara Mac Cauley and the other EAs about what was really going on in the business. You very probably would have continued for some years in Jane Street, perhaps until now, and might have started and effective charity of your own, or been involved in one. It is difficult to imagine that you would have been worse off in the choice of partners, sentimental and professional, and would probably dedicate very little thought to how you had narrowly dodged the bullet.
Sadly, this one Caroline that lives under the collapse of this universe's wave function has found herself where she's at, and there is no point in crying over spilt milk. And perhaps you haven't devoted any thoughts to the what ifs, which might be all for the better.
You will have thought, though, about how previous Carolines would be judging and contemplating your present with terror and disbelief. If March 2014! you couldn't understand November 2013! you, I doubt any of your pre-2018 selves would be very forgiving and understanding with your Alameda self. And yet in a way, they can't complain of a betrayal, as they are you, and they ended up making your own exact decisions.
You know I have my skirmishes with consequentialism, and have some faith in a relatively stable self. That includes my conviction that core-Caroline is a wonderful and virtuous person, and that whatever errors and temptations moved her from the right path, she will find her way by just following her natural inner compass, and pass from Inferno and Purgatorio to Paradiso. Don't we all lose our way to some extent or other?
Quote:
Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura
ché la diritta via era smarrita.
Ahi quanto a dir qual era è cosa dura
esta selva selvaggia e aspra e forte
che nel pensier rinova la paura!
Dante, Canto I

Article on a C33 Laurel with a Mine's ECU fitted. Text translation first followed by pic caption translations.
Computer This is a stylish CP / trad tune Laurel's top grade club / L tuning car has been released. Laurel's normal car, which can be expected only from Mines, who has a good reputation for computer tune, is a traditional car that is a bit different from Cefiro. What surprised me when I saw the test drive was that the tires are the same Pirelli PZERO as the F40, and the base car that was prepared in front of the normal appearance is subject to tuning, so of course Like, "I just thought that it was Club S. However, surprisingly, the level of Club L, which is the highest grade in Laurel, is also super normal. It is exactly the trick that CP tune can do. Especially the fuel (map) I was wondering if the low speed range had been sacrificed because I was sick, but I was able to control the fuel really well. The movement did not show any jerky movement at all. The main mechanical components such as the coming acceleration power / engine have almost the same relationship. However, the tuning was done by Mines, who has a good reputation for CP tune. It may be an early point to do it. What kind of tune is applied, I have to actually run, so I decided to rent a car and run it. It is gaining popularity. Cefiro. As for the Laurel, which is a sister car of the Cefiro, a tuned car using the Si Laurel has already appeared. The most delicious area is the maximum excess from 3500 rpm where the turbo excess starts to be applied. It will be around 7000 rpm which reaches 0.9% of the supply pressure. The engine, which had been snorting in traffic until then, woke up at once, and I was able to enjoy the feeling of acceleration as if my buttocks had been kicked. As always, there was a metallic noise after 6500 rpm, but this is the same for the normal car. Taking full advantage of CP tuning's good points The engine's response gives the impression that it's one step better than normal. Mr. Arata of Mine's, who worked on this, said, "Please look at the upper part from the middle range in particular." Unfortunately, in this test drive, I couldn't attack the winding, but if it's the usual Hakone, I can enjoy the delicious taste around 4000 rpm. Moderately light menu. Mochiron, CP tune also includes release of rev boost speed etc. It's a very simple tailoring, but it's a finish that makes you wonder if the turbine was replaced. Anyway, I'm riding, and I can't think it's a normal car, and I can't think of it as a tuning car. A stylish trad tune that makes the most of the features of the CP tune.
This is the magic small box "COMPUTER VX ROM" Speed limiter release / Boost cut release Rev limiter release Ignition timing correction Fuel control is done. 96,000 yen The cool thing about the computer tune is that it powers up the appearance of the RB20DET. As for the tires, the Ferrari F40 is shining as standard. The Pirelia ZERO 205 / 55ZR16 wheels are attached to the left side under the BBS keyhole, which is HKS's EVC (ELECTRONIC VALVE CONTROLLER). 92,000 yen. The right side is an idling sensor. It's amazing that you don't know that it's warmed up. Tune Bar Laurel's top-class car club L with normal horsepower! The electric sunroof of the OP, the front and rear spoilers, and the blackout grill make it a fearless one.
