"ken-chinnnn" the leader of the toman whined at his taller friend. draken rolled his eyes in response, "no mikey, drop it."

"come onnnn-" the said man pouted exaggeratedly, "what did i do wrong?"

"nothing." the delinquent replied taking his wallet out of the pocket of his jacket, "you just don't need to eat twenty-five taiyaki."

"sorry to bother you but there are a lot of people who are waiting take their orders so if you could-" daiki, as it was written on his name tag, tried to cut them off from behind the counter.

for the past ten minutes, the two delinquents were arguing about their order. draken wanted to buy mikey five taiyaki, while mikey wanted his friend to buy him twenty-five of them.

draken turned his head to the cashier, "yeah, so five taiyaki and-"

"twenty-five taiyaki." "damn you-"

"hurry up! unlike other people, some of us have important things to do!" a customer yelled from the back of the line.

manjiro snapped his head to the back of the line, narrowing his eyes at the older man who had just yelled at him. "see now you're making people angry, mikey. 'm not gonna spend ¥5,272 on snacks."

"i need to eat a lot if i want to be taller!"

"for the last time. you won't get taller! you are at your maximum height!"

"alright! i'm not going through this again." a soft voice cut both of them before they could start the same argument they had 2 minutes ago. "daiki, i'll pay for their order- just make his goddamn snacks, please."

when manjiro turned to look at the person who 'saved his life', he felt like he has just died and miraculously came back to life as he made eye contact with you.

you were... pretty.

his eyes were set on you, taking in every single detail he could as if he was scared to forget how you look the second he'll look away.

"thank you, but that's not necessary!" draken politely thanked you as you grabbed your fidelity card of the small shop.

"don't worry about it! after all, those fidelity points have to be used for something." you waved him off, looking back at daiki, "could you also add my regular oder with that, please daiki?"

"o-of course, (y/n)!" the young worker quickly tapped your oder in the computer, a red hue covering his cheeks when you smiled at him.

"mikey, what do you say?" draken looked at his friend, hinting him to thank you, but his words fell into deaf ears as mikey kept looking at you like you hung the moon and stars in the sky.

"mikey?" He nudged the said man's shoulder trying to snap him out of his thoughts, only to be ignored once more.

the tall blond dropped the smile as he turned to his friend hitting the side of his head, finally snapping him out of his thoughts, "mikey!"

"um? what?" mikey barely glanced at draken when he responded, his heartbeat increasing when you looked back at him with your receipt in hand.

"i said, what do you say to the girl who just bought you your snacks?" he replied, glancing between the two of you clearly wondering why his friend was acting weird all of the sudden.

"marry me."

ken ryuguji never whipped his head to look at his friend so fast in his life. What the hell did he just said?!

you felt your face warm up at his words, chuckling as you walk past him, placing your hand on his shoulder, "do you ask every girl who buys you snacks to marry you?"

manjiro felt like he was in heaven when you stood closer to him. how can someone be so pretty and be so nice and smell so good and be so pretty at the same time.

"what?" toman's leader came back down to earth when you handed him the box filled of taiyaki. "did i say that out loud?" manjiro mumbled, frowning to himself. before looking back at you, just to see you making your way outside. "hey- wait!"

he tossed the snacks at draken jogging to meet you outside of the shop. "w-wait!"

you turned to look at him, the soft summer breeze sweating through your hair, leaving your face completely out in the open, "yes?"

"you're (y/n), right?" he asked remembering how the cashier called you when you were ordering, "i'm mikey..." he wanted to say something else but the words got caught in his throat when you smiled at him.

"nice to meet you, mikey" you replied before your eyes drifted behind him to the small group of guys that were looking at the two of you intensely, the 'ken-chin' guy from earlier standing with them. "i think your friends are waiting for you"

manjiro glanced back to see his best friends looking at them with knowing looks on their faces, "never mind them- this is- you are more important."

you looked away from him, his intense eye contact making your face feel warm, "you really know how to talk to girls you know?"

"thank you for earlier... the snacks and all..."

"that was 2 months worth of fidelity points- you better eat every single one of those taiyaki" you playfully warned the gang leader.

"don't worry about that..!" mikey replied knowing damn well that he will inhale those snacks. "can i walk you home? it's going to get dark soon- wouldn't want my wife to get attacked or something!"

wife?!

you suppress a smile at his words, "of course, wouldn't want it to get dark at 2 pm, and then get attacked by who knows what next to a bakery."

"exactly! let's go, wifey!"

takashi mitsuya

"what did you say you're brother's name was?" you asked the crying girl in front of you.

"...t- taka-shi" the small girl sobbed in your shoulder as you gently patted her head.

"alright and what's your name?" you gently asked as you scanned the area trying to find someone who looked like they had just lost their child.

"i- i- i'm mana"

"you have a really pretty name, you know?" you smiled fondly at the girl as you whipped the tears of her face with your thumbs.

"really?"

"heck yeah! it's a badass name!" you felt relief wash over you when you saw a smile spread across the kid's face, "i'm (y/n) and i'm gonna help you find your brother alright?"

"thank you..." she mumbled quietly.

"you're going to hop on my shoulders and tell me when you see your brother okay?" the girl looked up at you with stars in her eyes, you pulled mana on your shoulder, her small hands on your head.

you walked for a good 15 minutes before mana tapped your head with on hand while the other pointed toward an unknown man in the crowd of person, "they're there! that's draken!"

draken? wasn't her brother's name takashi? you wondered as you put mana to the ground your hand grabbing hers just in case she got lost again.

"mana!" a little girl's voice called out as you arrived next to the very tall guy with a dragon tattoo on his head. the small girl that looked very similar to mana hugged tightly the younger girl.

"mitsuya! ' found her" the tall guy called out for someone else behind him. the 'mitsuya' guy appeared from behind the 'draken' guy not long after he called out from him. the purple haired teen practically attacked his sister with a hug, sighing in relief.

"don't ever do that again, mana." he gently scaled his younger sister, "you could've gotten lost and we would've been really sad, al-?"

"it's fine! (y/n) helped me find you!" she pointed her finger at her. mitsuya ruffled his sister's hair, before straightening up to thank the person that help his mini-him, "thank you so mu..."

he felt like the world had stopped moving. like it was only the two of them in the middle of the festival. takashi mitsuya was in a trance. he was simply mesmerized by the sight of you.

"it's no problem, really! " you softly smiled at him, "your sister is a real angel-"

anything else you said after wasn't even registered but the delinquent in front of you. he was usually so good at this- talking to people was what he did best so... why couldn't he utter a single word for you.

his cheeks were red, his palm were sweaty, why was he anxious?- he was hanging on everything you did. even if he felt like he had forgotten how to speak, your voice felt like melody to his ears.

he snapped out of his trance when someone nudge his shoulder. mitsuya glanced at draken beside him, suddenly remembering that they weren't alone and that you were talking to him.

you looked at him with a puzzled look, "are you alright?

your question made him overthink about everything that happened in the last 2 minutes of your meeting. Did he look like a creep?

"i- i- great."

the hell was that takashi? he cursed himself.

darken cleared his throat, holding back his laugh. he brought his fist to his mouth faking coughs as he muttered a small, "real smooth, mitsuya".

you chuckled at his friend's comment, making mitsuya straighten up, you pulled out your hand for him to shake.

"let's start over, alright? i'm (y/n)... you're takashi right?"

draken stepped up clearly expecting his friend to be to lost in space to answer you, "he prefers mitsuya-"

"takashi's fine!" the said man interjected, as he quickly grabbed your hand to shake it, sending one of his pretty smile in your direction.

"i-"

"are you going to marry my brother?" he couldn't catch a break could he? luna asked you with big eyes.

you chuckled softly at her words, "how about this... i will give my number to your brother. then we'll go out to eat something to talk about marriage alright?"

"yes!" the girl tightly hugged your leg as you said that.

"does that sound like a plan to you, takashi?" yes!

mitsuya hurriedly started to look in his pocket for a pen, when draken pulled one out of his pocket with a piece of paper and handed it to the purple haired boy, "there you go, casanova"

takashi handed you the paper and the pen, before you wrote your name with your phone number on it.

"see y'a soon, taka! bye, mana don't get lost again alright?"

as soon as you were out of sight takashi turned to draken with a stern look, "not a word about this, alright?"

"you're crazy!" draken crackled putting his hand in his pocket, "i'm going to tell everyone!"

"draken!"

"as your wingman i feel like it's my responsibility-"

"no it is not!"

chifuyu matsuno

"hurry up, chifuyu!" takemichi yelled at his friend. they couldn't be late. not for that.

"how come you are slow as hell during a fight, yet you sprint your life on a sunday at 8 am?" the blond joked as he calmly walked behind takemichi with not a care in the world.

"come on! we're gonna be late!" he repeated hurriedly before stopping abruptly while looking around him.

"late to what?" chifuyu yawned, before looking at his friend, who stood there looking around, up and down as if his brain had finally snapped, "you alright?"

"alright stand here and don't move." takemichi moved the delinquent around so that he would stand in the middle of a park- an empty park.

"did you finally snapped or...?" he asked when the time traveler started to back away from him, "are you going to kill me? is this really how it's gonna end-"

"watch out!"

a voice yelled, but it was too late.

a ball directly hit his face, knocking chifuyu to the dirty ground, his eyes closing due to the shock.

it took him a couple of seconds before finally opening his eyes again, only to realize that he was in heaven. the prettiest girl he had ever seen in his life held his head in her hands, her index and middle finger pressed against the front of his neck just below his jaw- making sure that his heart was still beating.

"oh- thank god! you're not dead!"

"are you an angel?" chifuyu mumbled placing his hand on top of yours- making sure you were real, "am i in heaven?"

you let a breathy chuckle at his words, "you're cute- but no you're not dead... i kicked a ball in your face- unintentionally of course!"

his eyes finally focused on you, remembering what had happened. he blinked a couple of time, his eyes scanning your face- a pretty girl's face... so close to his face with her hands on his face and his hands on her hand-

what?!

chifuyu's face became as red a tomato straitening his posture to apologize for touching you without your authorization, "i'm so sorry-"

his head came in contact with your head, making you pull back immediately from the blond. "ow! i told you i didn't do it on purpose!" you groan holding your head with your hands.

chifuyu gasped in horror at his own clumsiness as he placed a hand on the back of your head. hopping that the coldness of it would help you a little, "i'm sorry! i swear i didn't mean it! please hit me again so that we're even!"

...what? now why would he say that?

"what? what's wrong with you?! do you get turn on by getting hit or something?!"

chifuyu panically looked around to search takemichi so that he could help him. when he finally spotted him, hiding behind the swings, the time traveler was smiling proudly with his two thumbs up in the air.

his action making him recall a conversation the two of them had a couple of weeks earlier.

"so... am i married in the future?" chifuyu asked takemichi as he bit down the sandwich he made himself for lunch.

takemichi raised his brows at the question, "yeah-"

"really?!" the blond gasped, with heart in his eyes, "do i know her?! no wait- that'll ruin the surprise- is she pretty?! no wait- of course she's pretty you idiot!"

the time traveler chuckled at his friend's words, rubbing the back of his neck, "do you want me to tell you how you met?"

"no! it has to be a surprise!" chifuyu refused, "wait am i going to meet her soon? is that why you said that?! takemichi?! answer!"

"nah- like you said it has to be a surprise~"

"takemichi!"

"if it makes you feel better- you embarrassed yourself in front of her"

"how would that make me feel better?!"

that sneaky bastard.

"i'm sorry! i don't know how to talk to pretty girls..." chifuyu mumbled looking to the ground, but his face snapped back at you when he realize what he had just say, your eyes round at his words, "i- i mean not that don't know how to talk you! wait- not that you're not pretty! you are pretty- beautiful even! but that is not the point! i don't need you to hit me! just please don't think i hurt you on purpose- i don't hit pretty girls! no wait- i don't hit girls at all! but you being beautifully-pretty is just a plus you know! an-"

you smacked your hand on his mouth, stopping his rambling, the butterflies in your stomach flying way to much due to his words. "please stop-! you're too cute..."

takemichi titled his head at the scene in front of him, clearly not remembering that part of the story your older self told him in the future about how chifuyu and her had met-

but... mission failed successfully... i guess?

had so much fun last time I wanted to do it again

Satan is so smart, but has issues doing basic math and refuses to admit it, like he can’t figure out fifteen plus seven without his fingers or a calculator (is this me projecting? maybe)

Belphie bought himself and Mc matching house slippers. Mc thought Beel felt left out and made Belphie buy a pair for him too

Beel has a huge green thumb, and takes upon himself to save plants he thinks are sad or lonely. He buys the dying plants from the store to bring back to life (partially inspired by the chat where someone, forgot who, told beel that if he talked to plants they would grow faster my precious baby)

Lucifer is the best cook at the HoL, but rarely has time to cook. Beel is the second best but usually eats the ingredients before he can make anything with them. Mammon is probably the worst because Levi can make food from animes almost perfectly

Asmo once almost set a store he was collaborating with on fire with his rage alone because they spelt his name wrong

Beel probably needs a new toothbrush every couple weeks. Belphie probably gets toothbrushes mixed up and uses ones that aren’t his

Lucifer and Solomon like prune juice haha old men

The one thing Luke and Simeon have seriously disagreed on is if raisins belong in dessert. Michael likes them, so Luke does too. Simeon thinks they’re awful but never directly says it, so Lucifer usually says it for him

Despite always being online, Levi had not once checked his RAD email. He has 9,999+ emails, probably a lot more because 9,999 is where it stops counting

Mammon collects cool rocks and keeps them in a box under his bed

Satan’s hands are always freezing, so he sticks them under Mc (or a cat) when possible, or uses a charmed hot water bottle from Solomon that stays warm for days at a time

Solomon and Asmo have had matching bracelet sets for as long as they’ve known each other, and since they didn’t make them anymore, they got some custom done for Mc so they could also have them

For about 1,000 years, Thirteen though jelly beans were an actual kind of bean and Solomon never let her let it go

The first food Mc and Mammon ate on a date in the human world together was Taiyaki, so he made it a point to learn how to make them to surprise Mc (even though he’s a terrible cook) (I might make this a fic since I like this idea so much)

Diavolo once went to the human world in his demon form for,, reasons, and accidentally got written into ancient mythology because he got spotted by humans

Barbatos had a home garden for cooking and sometimes lets Asmo have leaves from some of the plants to make homemade skin care products

Mammon probably has lots of earwax. Don’t share your earbuds with him unless you make him clean them afterwards

Belphie has a really large water bottle that’s always on his side table. He wakes up randomly though the night, chugs an ungodly amount of water and then passed out again. In the mornings he has to piss really bad but is too lazy to get up and actually do it, so he just sits and complains. Even Beel isn’t sure how he’s able to drink that much water in a short amount of time

Satan likes waking up early to enjoy the morning air and read outside for a while since mornings can get hectic with his brothers

Thirteen’s favorite torture device is the Iron Maiden. She had her own that she bedazzled. Even Asmo is jealous and wants her to make him one too

Mammon introduced Diavolo to Gatorade, and instead of sneaking behind Lucifer and Barbatos’s backs to drink Demonus, they have secret Gatorade meetings

Diavolo and Lucifer definitely both had a hidden Dialuci stash of things and probably clash trying to collect limited edition things online

None of the Obey me cast took birthdays or passing of years seriously until Mc entered the picture and suddenly time was precious, and they actually kept track. Because of this, nobody is really sure how old the twins are

Osaka Noutei Tora no ana: fan report, Sep 23/24 2023 - Kaoru's talk event!

First I just need to say, I consider myself very lucky to have been able to attend and take part in this event!

I arrived at the venue at about 11:30pm, there were already a lot of fans hanging outside, and almost immediately a staff member of one restaurant opposite the venue building approached me and asked me in a shocked tone what on earth was going on with all these people here!😂 I told him it was an event by Kaoru from Dir en grey, and he just had no idea at all, asking, 'Is he Japanese??' 😆

Some fans were saying then that they saw Kaoru pulling up in a taxi and waving as he walked past them to go inside earlier...damn, I was too late!

After entering the building and lining up, I was eventually THIRD LAST into the venue! My ticket number was twice as high as last time..agh! It made me realise how close I was to not getting a ticket at all 😱 so I was grateful, but I was also stressing, because as my ticket number was so high, I was worried I wouldn't be able to see or hear anything from right at the back. In fact, I WAS right at the very back, there were no tables left and only one lonely chair left, but thank the gods, from that chair I had a clear view of Kaoru the whole time!!

Having said this, I did end up with a bit of trouble...in being handed a bunch of stuff as I entered (q&a paper, coaster, drink order token) and having nowhere to put anything, losing stuff, panicking, and then after that having to balance my drinks/food on my lap all night, but HEY, I could see and hear fine, so its all good!

Again, as far as I could tell, I seemed to be the only person there who was not Japanese. If any other foreign fans were there, let me know!!

The talk started with Fujieda and Takabayashi coming out for a quick greeting before calling Kaoru to join them. For some reason, Kaoru didn't immediately come out when he was called, and the audience ended up having to do encore style clapping before he actually came out 😆

He was wearing a black shirt, khaki shorts, a beanie, and glasses.

Kaoru and the managers got their drinks pretty quickly and Kaoru tried to raise a toast, but as us poor folk at the back still had no drinks, Kaoru decided to delay making a toast until we all had drinks (which, I must say, probably took another 30 mins or so). I'm so grateful he waited for us! 😭😭😭

To start, Kaoru talked a bit about how things had been for the Tokyo exhibition. That big collage board was also propped up on the stage next to them, and he explained a bit about it.

He also talked about his drawing of the Genesa which was on display in Tokyo. It was his original idea for how he wanted the guitar to look.

They then talked about how they came down to Osaka and brought all the art by car the previous day(Friday). When they got to the venue, the people who they had hired to help them set up everything didn't come, so they called the company and it turned out the company had mistaken the date, and thought they were due to set it up on Saturday instead! Thankfully, it was still all ready by the end of Friday, just a few hours later than expected. Kaoru said that while Takabayashi was on the phone seriously trying to sort out the problem, he himself went to the nearby convenience store, Mini-Stop, and bought ice cream. He really likes the ice cream at Mini-Stop 😆 This reminded them of how they occasionally had to go out to DIY stores for extra supplies during the Tokyo exhibition, and Takabayashi bought taiyaki while he was at one of the bigger stores. This made Fujieda jealous, as he loves taiyaki. Fujieda then told everyone that once during Tokyo run, Kaoru bought all the staff donuts from the store JACK IN THE DONUTS.

Kaoru said that he needed extra space to paint while he was creating all the art pieces so he rented a seperate apartment for the short term, just to paint in...but he heard a lot of noise there from people shouting in foreign languages next door (.....or something like that).

They talked a lot about the mangas they all like, as Kaoru had had some of his fave mangas with him on his desk at the exhibition. Fujieda said that as well as being a huge fan of Dragonball and Slamdunk, he is also a huge fan of Death Note. Kaoru found this kinda funny, and asked him if he'd seen the live action remake of Death Note, which Fujieda said he hadn't. This also reminded them of the recent One Piece remake, and then Kaoru remembered the Dragonball Z live action remake, saying it was astonishing...in a BAD way 😂 He even mentioned how Akira Toriyama had refused any association with it.

Speaking of watching things, Fujieda and a lot of the audience have been watching the new VIVANT TV drama recently, and they couldn't believe that Kaoru hasn't been watching it. (I haven't been watching it either, so this went over my head a bit!!😆)

Kaoru said if he could take any manga to a desert island, he would take Kochi Kame: Tokyo Beat Cops, as stuff like Dragonball etc is already all in his head.

During the first half of the event, a screen was lowered behind Kaoru and the managers, and they used it with a kind of overhead projector to showcase some of the new art. Kaoru used the exhibition pamphlet to project images of the art onto the screen behind, which meant we also got a lot of closeups of his hands and arms ☺️ There were also plenty of spoilers for me, since my ticket for the exhibition is for after Tora no ana 😆 (Again, I still feel lucky there, because I heard some women near me talking in the line that none of them had been able to secure tickets to the exhibition at all.)

Just like when writing music, Kaoru said he also ends up with a lot of duds/write offs when he is painting too.

He started having ideas about putting on an exhibition after the completion of Phalaris, but started the actual painting in January this year.

Fujieda and Takabayashi both revealed their fave pieces from the exhibition, and those works were then discussed in more depth.

It was around this time that a woman in my row at the back started bravely calling out comments and questions to Kaoru, which he was replying to! Im fairly sure I recognized her as one of Kaoru's more visible online fans. Oh, to have her courage!!

Ive totally forgotten how they got onto this topic, but at one poInt Fujieda started talking about how he used to regularly get brazillian waxes when he used to be a bandman. And these days he also waxes his nose hairs...you're welcome for the mental image!😂

It was well past 2am by the time the break was announced. Kaoru dissapeared back stage for around 15mins, and by this time I was also kinda drunk.

After getting restarted, there was a bit of casual talk for a while iirc, and then the Q&A section began.

Once again Im going to start this part of the report by saying my question and name were read out!! BUT with hilarious/tragic results!😂 My question was concerning Kaoru's old band Charm, since he had displayed the flyer in Tokyo, and I also asked if he could expand on his pre-Dir band history in general.

Fujieda was like, "Ok, this question is asking about Charm, what kind of band was it, and stuff? I can't even understand the rest of the question..", and then he promptly announced my name to Kaoru too! I'd be lying if said I didn't feel slightly dead from embarrassment at his last remark! 😂 But let me clear things up here! Remember I said earlier that I was practically last to get inside with no table? Well, I knew I had barely any time left to scribble down a question when I got in. I had mentally prepared the question in my head in advance, so I had to write it as fast as I could with one of those flimsy plastic clip/pencil things, resting on my knees, in a totally frantic state, and in VERY poor light...in my second language! 😂 My handwriting was certainly rushed and untidy, and knowing me, I probably made errors and missed out words etc in my haste. I was actually shocked that it was picked up at all, considering its lack of readability, and the fact that so so many of the other question sheets just got passed straight over. So after some consideration, Im taking this as win! 😂

As for Kaoru's answer, he basically said he has nothing to say about Charm, as if HE was embarrassed to talk about this topic! So yehy, I managed to embarrass us both!! 😆😆 Again, Im taking this postively, you only live once, and I will never forget this! 😂

As for the other questions, he was asked various things, includIng firstly which of the other members is most into exercise? To this he said probably none of them, since none of them are actually inherently sporty.

One question congratulated Kaoru on Hanshin winning the series (the whole audience applauded this), and asked for his alternative suggestion to diving off the Ebisu bridge in Dotonbori. (This practice has been banned due to people getting hurt/killed while jumping off the brige in celebration) Kaoru sarcasticly suggested diving off Tsutenkaku tower instead...the audience was audibly shocked 😂

Another fan asked about how the other Dir members refer to Takabayashi, since Kaoru always calls him Tōru. Apparently the other members call him Tōru too, except Shinya who refers to him as 'kimi'(you). But then again, Shinya refers to Fujieda as 'kimi' as well.

About half way through the Q&A Kaoru introduced some of the merch available at the exhibition, using the overhead projector to showcase it.

Another question asked the dates for the fan trip next year, and Kaoru confirmed it will be on the 16th and 17th of Feb. He already has the location decided and the venue booked, but he couldn't say any more for now. The only hint was that is was nothing like all the suggestions considered back in March. The official announcement will be made next month.

Someone also wrote something suggesting that Kyo and Kaoru do should a shared birthday event, because they didn't like having to choose bewteen Kyo and Kaoru's seperate events. Kaoru was reluctant to do this, because 'its him, right?' (i.e We all know what Kyo can be like when he feels like it...or not!) 😅

There were a few other questions about the usual things, food, baseball etc, and after the Q&A was finished, Kaoru declared he was gonna give away a signed nouteikarano2 poster to one audience member. He asked everyone who wanted to win it to stand up, and then started a game of rock paper scissors, with him against the audience. In the end one fan was remaining and she was called to the front where Kaoru handed her the poster! Obviously I lost against him, but I'm just happy to have played!!😄

As the event was coming to an end an audience member quietly ordered two rounds of tequila shots for Kaoru, and the managers! The were kinda surprised, but still drank them! (Tonnes of food and drink which the audience had been ordering for them was still left over though!)

To end Kaoru stated that the streets were still full of weirdos at this time in the morning (4:30am)..so to be careful (Like, its dangerous, but off you go anyway! 😂). Takabayashi confirmed that, yes, the clubs are still very much in operation at this time. So I avoided the backstreets on my walk back alone! Haha.

Much more was talked about in addition to the above of course, he talked the night away! Despite my blunders, I do feel very lucky to have been here, and it was joy to be drinking till morning with him! Next...the actual exhibition!😅

P3R Collab Stuff in Japan

I was in Japan this past week and FUCK YEAH I did cringe P3R shit.

Gigo Taiyaki

There were custard cream taiyaki being sold of Koromaru, Aigis, and the protag at the Gigo arcade. I got Koro and Aigis.

Wendy's

The best item on the menu was definitely Aigis's mango tapioca. The protagonist burger was seriously just a baconator with a flag on it lol. Mitsuru's spaghetti kinda had a slightly spicy aftertaste? The fries were fun too - you shake the bag around to spread the seasoning.

Sea Paradise (S.E.E.S Paradise?)

We bought the special Reload entry pass which gives you an all day pass plus a SEES Wristband and a stamp rally card. The stamp rally took you to multiple sections of the park where you would go through the exhibits then find stamps and they had a syllable there for the keyword you put together. For completing the stamp rally, you got a random sticker; I got Mitsuru and traded her away to friends and wound up with Aigis and Koromaru.

One of the things for the collab was that Aigis made multiple announcements around Sea Paradise - some of them were outside, one was at the viewing tower, and she also narrated the sardine show. I laughed at the sardine one because she's like, "Omg look at the power of the bonds between the sardines!" Okay, Yu Narukami, chill.

There were also large cardboard cutouts of the characters located around the park. E.g. Protag and Ryoji were across from one another in the dolphin exhibit and Liz was in the back (she is babysitting those gays, 100%). Also, some little kid was throwing hands with Fuuka in the aquarium.

We also happened to be there at the same time as Mitsuru's JP VA, Rie Tanaka, who was as disappointed as we were when we realized they were sold out of the cute collab art merchandise lol.

I googled Raindrop Cakes and holy shit that's gorgeous. Also yeah...I think the flavor of real mango is really mild but perhaps being American, the iterations I most often see are like watermelon candy is to actual watermelon. I'm used to it being super duper sharp if it's a mango flavored thing, versus using real mango.

I think while he's a very practical man, he'd enjoy something that clearly came from the heart, too. I think it's a hard feat but a good way to make him soft. Something, perhaps, that he can see in his personal space and remember your care.

Konan:

Little things. A rock you think she'd like. Things you made with your hands, just so long as it isn't too clearly laborious or time consuming. (Thinking about when she made an origami rose for Jiraiya)

Tobi/Obito:

THE WORLD No, I think anything that demonstrates you're giving him the time of day on your own free will out of love. I bet he melted anytime Rin so much as shared a snack. He can see through your intent like glass, though, so its less about what is actually done and more what you mean by it that'll matter.

Zetsu:

He might be the hardest sell, I don't think gift giving is a love language he accepts easy. Maybe *gives*, because humans are weird and it's an easy way to express affection or admiration, but to *accept* is different. I think he'd more or less have the same placid, pleasant expression regardless of if you gave him a flower or bought him a house. You'd have to attach some sort of context to the gift to make it matter more.

Hidan:

Personal headcanon: for as much as he talks about how he feels or thinks, he does not know how to express affection with his words. He gives gifts if he likes you. In my fic, he gives the performer a loaf of bread and because she's starving, she wolfs it down, and so every time after he's like "wow I guess she really likes food" so he steals gets her food.

Appreciate his faith or demonstrate your own. He'll catch on if you only give him things with the Jashin symbol just for the sake of it, though. After the first few times he's going to get the idea that you're not actually putting any heart into it, like the equivalent of buying anything you see that has a frog on it because your friend said once that he likes frogs. It's only going to take you so far if you're using it as a shortcut. Get him a prayer mat, some candles, maybe a free coupon for the human sacrifice warehouse.

Kakuzu:

This man is NOTHING if not pragmatic. The gift needs to be worthwhile, for one, and for another, because he ultimately sees where every bill comes and goes in the Akatsuki's hands, he is going to want you to spend it WISELY. Don't buy this man anything gold. You're basically handing him his own money back to him in a different, less liquidated form. Be thoughtful, pay attention to the kind of things he tends to use, or tends to need and never seems to have enough of. It matters most how your gift serves to improve his life. Better ink for writing, an updated bingo book, a meal he forgot to eat. Things that fill a space that is already open, not trying to forge one and pretend it is needed for its own sake.

Deidara:

You need to make the gift. I don't know if anyone could ever think there'd be a different answer than this. It needs to be made in some form or another with your own two hands. He wants to see your fingerprints on that ceramic, hear the quiver in your voice when you sing him a song. Don't be mistaken: home made will not necessarily mean less expensive. He's gonna notice if you cheap out on the materials, and then he is (while not intending to be ungrateful) going to critique you on that. Save yourself the lecture.

Also: let him watch you make it! That'd be the best part.

Sasori:

Also needs to have artistic purpose first and foremost. I think he'd love things in resin, honestly. Preservation of something beautiful, especially if its the kind where you go in with a needle and position everything before it solidifies. But mostly, purpose is secondary to beauty. It needs to be beautiful or otherwise obvious in the delicate nature of its craft. Also, if you have the kind of relationship with him where he is showing you how he builds his puppets, a demonstration you've learned what he's taught would be phenomenal. Give him a lil puppet and let him do a critique. The time in his day to do that is the most meaningful gift he will give in turn; it is a hard one to earn.

Kisame:

He strikes me as an "experience versus physical object" kind of guy. Take him out for something fun! Go to the boardwalk, the festival, a hike, fireworks. He's not necessarily social with strangers, but he's more than willing to be around them and handle stares to go live life and enjoy himself. Of course, it's all the better if you're there with him to share it.

Itachi:

Easiest to gift for, even if everyone thinks otherwise. Just because he doesn't always smile doesn't mean it means nothing to him. If you went to the store and got him any gift basket of body care items, he would reserve a space in his heart for you till the day he dies. On that note, I do think he'd like body care items a lot, things that are perfumed, make his hair softer, let him relax for a second. He may not be able to sleep, but a lavender scented bath is a pretty close imitation. I also think he's the type that would genuinely be touched if you donated to a charity in his honor.

Mika: Ehehe~ There were so many things that I wanted t’bring them over all at once so it ended up like that.

Oshi-san, come ‘n take a look at the flower accessories Anzu-chan ‘n I made ♪

Shu: Hm, it seems like the little girl is expecting to be praised. Well, since you came all the way to Paris… I think these accessories are serviceable. From what I see, you two haven’t wasted your time.

Mika: I will keep workin’ harder so Oshi-san will praise me more! 

I also brought the fabric that Oshi-san wanted. What’s next?

Shu: The clothing designs were revised to take into consideration the disposition of each model and the change in exhibition location. After I check them again, we can continue working. Since we have to make outfits for the four of you, we need more of the accessories that you made earlier. 

Mika: Ngah, I remember this shoot’s inspiration is the image of flowers swayin’ in the breeze, as if they're murmurin’. We need t’ capture that kinda natural softness, right? 

The costume design is simple, but the flower accessories were added here ‘n there so that it can blend into the site of the shoot naturally while preservin’ that concept? 

So that means me ‘n Anzu-chan have important work t’ do. I won’t disappoint ya, Oshi-san!

透明感 (toumeikan) means transparency, but can also be used to mean fair skin.

ふたば通りのたね庵 (futaba-dori no tane-an) is the taiyaki store “tane-an” on the street “futaba-dori”. Futaba means seed leaves/sprout, and tane means seed of a planet. There’s probably some kind of leafy word reference here, I think…? But I am not going to risk it, so it’s mostly kept as is.

things from these days i loved #7 🧡:

soooo today i really really wanted to check out a photography exhibition at tokyo station despite desperately needing sleep (but it was the last day!)

i thought i would go alone but then both a. (the girl who told me i look like a wes anderson main protagonist 🥹) & j. (absolute bestie along with f.) texted me asking for my plans, and despite the warnings of me being super slow at galleries & the like, they decided to join in <33

the exhibition was at tokyo station gallery and it was centered around the work of yasui nakaji; it was also an excuse to finally go to central tokyo, i hadn't been there yet! and it was very different from what i expected. it felt a bit like being in the matrix, everything was spotless and so clean, the skyscrapers so high, everything looked fancy & expensive & quite unreal lol I really want to go back at night!

the exhibition was absoluutely lovely and im starting to reallyyyy get into photography history and film photography <3 and im so lucky to be in japan for it <333 no pictures were allowed so that saved a. & j. from seeing my worse side (tho i was still the slowest lol)

we were done at around noon and looked for cheap places to eat around the station (big mistake, it's quite a fancy businessy area). we ended up somewhere underground, underneath some office buildings and the place was quite fancy; but we got the fixed lunch menu and it was fine for the price! and the quality was great <3

then we visited the imperial palace gardens, which are kinda next to the station. the contrast is quite something and very much unusual but they were lovely and we want to go back for a picnic eventually <3

then 💖💖💖💖💖 i had the time of my life because i took the both of them shopping and it was SO.MUCH.FUN. <333333 they were both so into it, i bought a lovely dress and some t-shirts, a tamagotchi❗️❗️❗️ the cutest pair of sunglasses and pokèmons to hang from my pants (these are quickly becoming my favourite way to accessorise and a staple in my wardrobe); I can't explain how much fun I had and both a. & j. want to go back soonish (also for the okinawa trip preparations - a. has joined!!!) and my heart is soooo happy.

also japanese fashion is unmatched. nothing to add. 💖💖💖

I also got my first film camera!!!!!!!!!!! it was a disposable one and I used it all in one day and now I can't wait to go develop the film <3 I really want to buy a camera before the okinawa trip <333

we shopped until dinner time basically and then we met up with f. for dinner at shinjuku so i could introduce him to a. and ask if she could join the okinawa gang <3 eating out when you're more than 2 people in tokyo is SO HARD because everywhere is super small and busy at all times and we were 5 people 🥲 we ended up at a katsudon place that made me kinda sick but that won't stop me from eating katsudon <3 we then also walked to a taiyaki stand and i had my first one ever and it was SO YUMMY AND DELICIOUS 🥹

as for monday, i kind of had a chill self care day <333 i went to lessons, got accepted in ALL the courses i wanted, got rid of the ones on friday afternoon so I can take weekend trips with the others if I want to AND deep cleaned my entire space, did 3 rounds of laundry and now ill do a longish skincare routine and catch up on some school work (maybe ill meet j. at his dorm for that)

tomorrow im going to the cinema to see the newest detective conan movie in 4D!!!!!!!! my japanese buddy invited me and im taking f. along. my buddy's the sweetest person ever i was so blessed to be paired with her <3333

A World Without Memory

'When the day began, Conan was vaguely aware of the plague of amnesia that was spreading outside of Japan. One that would erase every memory you ever had and leave you a confused, blank slate of a human. When the day ended, Conan wished he could've stopped it.'

Hour 1

24 "Good morning, Conan-kun!"

The little boy yawned as he stepped into the kitchen, still dressed in last night's pajamas and still recovering from his own grogginess.

"Mornin', Ran-neechan..."

The teenaged girl beamed at Conan as he rubbed his eyes, her body positioned over the counter as she got to making breakfast.

Despite not even being fully awake, he could easily deduce what she was making.

He could hear something sizzling in the pan she wasn't even bothering to cover up, and the air smelled like cooked meat, with tinges of crispiness and butter.

On the counter next to her, she also had some red bean paste-filled taiyaki packages sprawled around, with a crumpled up plastic bag in the kitchen trashcan.

"Making bacon and serving taiyaki with it, Ran-neechan?"

The girl nodded as she looked to the pan and used a spatula to ensure the bacon didn't stick.

"Un! I thought it would make a fun breakfast, especially after the stressful night we had last night."

Conan sighed. He honestly couldn't blame Ran for thinking that. Last night, they had went out to dinner and, in a shocking move that surprised absolutely no one, someone died.

In fact, three people died, one after the other. Conan had to practically work his ass off so that Kogoro didn't jump to the conclusion of a terrorist attack.

Thankfully, after 3 long, exhausting hours, he was able to pin down the culprit. Sure, their food got cold in the meantime and Ran had lost her appetite, but it was definitely better than having to deal with the police arresting the wrong guy or creating a state of emergency.

Still, it meant Conan was very, VERY spent.

"Thanks, Ran-neechan..."

He groggily sat his behind on a pillow on the floor next to their little table. Like most traditional Japanese families, the Mouris usually ate while seated on the floor.

However, a unique part of their little traditional setup was the TV that sat adjacent to him. It was an old box that Kogoro had bought around when he left his wife, but it worked.

Knowing his food wouldn't come for another 10 minutes or so, he grabbed the remote laying flat on the table and turned on the TV. While he was hoping for some news about the Black Organization to show up, he knew it would be much more reasonable for a murder to show up than news about them.

However, as the little box *bzzt*ed itself to life, Conan was surprised to be greeted by neither. Yet at the same time, it wasn't just typical news.

"Breaking news: Reports from Paris, Madrid, London, and Moscow are coming in about an epidemic that has quickly begun spreading around the continent of Eurasia. While there are no reported cases in Japan as of this broadcast, it is spreading rapidly, with France experiencing the brunt of the epidemic, with over 2 million infected."

Conan's eyes went wide as the feigning reporter tried reading through their lines, her face obviously trying to hide the immense amount of panic that was overwhelming her. Epidemic? 2 million?

"As of November 12th, 2002, WHO has estimated over 4 million people have been affected by the virus causing this epidemic, with scientists claiming it has achieved the highest recorded basic reproduction number of any disease in human history. However, WHO have also stated that the disease is not lethal and catching it seems to not have hazardous effects. Research is ongoing, however, and the disease is currently unnamed."

"Moh, this sounds pretty scary."

Conan turned to Ran, tuning out the panicking news reporter as she caught a glimpse of her face. It was now absent of the smile it used to have, now only replaced by a worrying frown.

Knowing all he was doing was just worrying Ran, Conan turned off the TV and turned to her, putting on that cutesy little childish smile he used to accentuate his kid act.

"I'm sure it'll be fine, Ran-neechan! The reporter's probably just exaggerating it. You know how reporters can be."

Ran was a little startled by Conan's attempt at calming his surrogate big sister (and girlfriend) but was comforted nonetheless. And soon, the frown disappeared under the smile she was wearing before.

Conan's fake smile softened into a real one, relief infecting him as he felt accomplished calming his childhood friend's worries.

Despite the news report seeming scary, Conan wasn't afraid. And, as Ran finally lifted the delicious bacon off the pan and onto a plate, Conan couldn't help but forget the majority of what he saw.

It wasn't like it was going to affect him, anyway. And besides, he had school, as mindnumbingly boring as elementary school can get considering he was actually 16 years old.

"Enjoy, Conan-kun!" Ran announced as she placed the plate of bacon on the table along with some taiyaki, the fish pastries now free from their boxes.

"Un! Thank you, Ran-neechan!"

Conan then clamped his hands together and they both announced their partaking in the delicious food with a quick, "Thanks for the food!"

And soon, Conan was already wolfing down his bacon. The delicious meat and grease dancing on his taste buds with good bacon-y deliciousness.

Conan ate and ate until his portion of the bacon was gone.

Completely unaware of what was happening elsewhere in the country.

Business men going to foreign conferences, families taking a vacation in a domestic city, drifters traveling the world.

On those funny little things called airplanes.

However, at this very moment, a man arriving from the depths of Paris was sick.

He didn't know it, but he was.

He had visited his best friend only hours before the flight, unaware that his friend had been in recent contact with a carrier who was friends with patient zero.

And, unbeknownst to the population of the Japanese archepelago...

He has brought with him the end of memory. And with it, the end of will.

I got back home from Japan on March 16!! It's been such a busy time since then. I left again on the afternoon of March 18 to attend a work event in St. Louis, Missouri, and I just got back home again yesterday evening.

I was surprised to really enjoy St. Louis. I didn't know anything about the city before, but it's a beautiful place. There are so many flowering trees all over, and lots of green space with Forest Park. The Arch and the Wash U campus are impressive.

The work component of the trip was exhausting. I worked 7 AM - 7 PM every day, and it was very social. Between colleagues and other members of the public, I was literally talking to people for almost the entire time every day. Caffeine kept me going. Still, it was a positive experience. I got to meet my organization's staff in St. Louis, and they're really nice people. I also met dozens of other people who were very interested in the work we do.

But it's so good to be home. I've been gone pretty much constantly from March 7 until today. I missed the comforts of home, and Derek, and Westin.

Highlights of my last few days in Japan,

Visiting the massive Todai-ji Temple in Nara and the surrounding temple spaces. My visit in the morning lined up with several dozen students taking a trip there, and it was cute to see them so excited and enjoying the experience as well, ringing the bells at the temples and lighting candles and incense offerings. I lit an incense stick in front of the Great Buddha with them. :)

Matcha latte at a cafe overlooking Nara Park, as the deer harassed people for food.

The deer!! They were so cute! I saw baby deer too.

Walking up to Kasuga Taisha Shrine and exploring the surrounding areas, finding the deer on the way.

Walking in the old Nara neighborhood of Naramachi, where I bought the best strawberry daifuku I have ever had, and ate it while sitting on the banks of a lake.

I felt so very sad about my last evening in Gion, so I made it a special one with dinner at Gion Duck Noodles, dango, and the most delicious hot taiyaki filled with fresh chestnut cream.

The last thing I did in Kyoto was a shibori silk scarf dying class at the Kyoto Shibori Museum. It was a 1:1 workshop and the instructors at the museum were so kind and hospitable. I'm thrilled with the scarf I made!

My last afternoon in Tokyo was a chill one. I got a foot massage, went out for dinner, and visited my beloved sento public baths one last time. The peak relaxation of those baths ended up being one of my favorite Japan experiences. ❤️

I did some shopping on Saturday before heading to the airport, and it was a smooth 11-hour direct flight home. I'm glad to be home with my family and friends, but I miss Japan. The food, the ease of public transport, the public baths... My heart was happy there. The vibes were good. I felt sadder upon leaving Kyoto than I ever have for any other trips.

I've wanted to go to Japan since I was 12. I'm so happy I finally got to experience that dream come true, and I still hope I can go again someday and explore more of the country. ❤️

Travel Blog - Dokomi 2024 - Sunday

Last day of Dokomi, and last travel Blog. A completely new character to premiere... Howard Link! I had very unexpected meetings and the time was running out so fast as it was also... travel day.

As always my day started super early, I had to park my car at the local grocery store as the parking lot of the hotel was full the evening before. Therefore I went there in pouring rain to hope to move the car closer now as I didn't want to carry my luggage through rain.

While I was at that... yes... I checked my engine in full cosplay and also bought a pretzel JUST FOR THE JOKE that Link is german and seriously what is more german than a german pretzel?

Again quite early I left for the con, it was still raining but I got a good parking spot bc it was so early. I decided to leave the coat on as it was not that cold but with the rain it would cool down more and Link only had that longsleeve... so... stealing Nea's coat here.

I decided just to run around a bit before the halls opened I didn't have much hope to be recognized as Link is a rather unknown character here, the series never got a release of the second season here not to mention Hallow was just randomly streamed, the Manga is treated very poorly by the publisher and yeah... it's not a well known series anymore.

So paint me surprised that mere minutes after entering the area I came across kyomaru_ko (IG) who just right away asked "ARE YOU HOWARD LINK" and I was so baffled by that, we chatted over 30 minutes and wow, it was so so nice to meet you. Please let me know if you really plan to do a Noah Cosplay Group again I am so in for that TAT

This was the whole vibe of my day to be honest, it gave me so much positive energy. Wow.

Next up was exploring the gaming hall and the j-fashion hall. I stumbled upon Dollce's booth and saw increble work across the hall.

Then I found the other booth, the one with the BJD Eyes. I just said "Hi" and the vendor said "Hi" and then we eyed each other for like .. a minute without saying anything. And her helper was like "wtf is wrong with you two" ... then she asked me if I was Seiji and I was "... yes" and then I finally had a second to progress the crafts and of course. The vendor is my very dear friend Sarah. I haven't seen her since 2019 and wow. I am still so happy I was able to see her again and I am sad I didn't take a photo WITH her. We talked very long and I asked her how she recognized me (I changed a lot since we saw each other and I was in Cosplay.. I mean I was blonde when we saw each other in Lübeck but Cosplay is Cosplay) and she said "... it was your beautiful brown eyes" .. I almost cried. The day overall was so wonderful already and this was the sugar on the cream. Really.

I then finally got to eat my morning snack. I tried Taiyaki the first time :D I was not that brave to choose a exciting filling... went for Nutella XD sometimes simple things are good.

The rest of the day was just me vibing here and there, i checked out some more of the halls, finally visited the friends/artists I got to know at the alley for the day, fetched my last bubble tea ...

and then went to the park. Time was passing so fast...

Still can't get over how pretty that park is, seriously.

Met some friend again and even FINALLY the people I was looking for on friday. I learned there was another Lavi and on Friday even a Mana ... which would have been perfect as I was Nea. But we decided to just arrange a meeting point the next time.

But I found a Cross (Hizashi.kun (IG)) and short before I left I found scarlett (Allen from the LBM) aaaaand Alice <3

The day was ending soon I settled down with another snack to end the day before a long drive home. It was a roll with veggies, hummus and the like, it was not very filling though :') but I still had my little snack box and the cinnamon roll so I decided it was enough.

I opened up the blind boxes before I left though as I was curious which I got (oh and watched a little perfomance before I found Alice).

And I GOT EXACTLY the ones I wanted to have??? Wow?? Like?? The Cabbage and Pumpkin dog and then the Clown on the carousel horse. i am usually not that much into the blind boxes but I tasked myself in buying something every day.

I quickly got the wig off then and headed home. Ate inbetween in the car and the overall drive went quicker than on the way to the con ... if it wasn't for the fact there was another construction side and I needed 5 hours... again.

I made a stop for some fries and a mc flurry (yes I was just curious how the white twix one is as I don't have a McD/have to drive 20 minutes for one).

The last thing that day was unloading the car and just fall into bed. The day after I lasted until 10 then i felt how dead beat I was and I just tried to somehow survive, good thing I had it off.

If I go for another time I surely need to get back on monday, this was originally my plan but due the Euro Cup hotel rooms were expensive af and there was two matches in Düsseldorf on Monday... I didn't need that.

Overall this was a beautiful convention I didn't have a single bad mental health moment (aside that quick scare with the claw), I didn't feel alone as I was able to send VMs to my friends, I had the courage to do so many things and had quite the confidence boost in several regards.

What a beautiful way to end the first half of the con season for the year. I have 4 more to attend.

The next one will be the Nipponcon in Bremen and I have already teamed up with KandaxMusa to do a partner cosplay there.

Hello Nohr!! :D 🩷 it’s not too cold here today, most of our snow has melted again, but it’s been SUPER windy! Some transport trucks were blown off the roads up the coast from where I live. I’ve been traveling on the bus today and thankfully we have not toppled over 🫡 And I saw that it’s been cold your way!! I hope your heater gets fixed, it’s too cold!! 😖

Ouuu!! For a song, “Put a Flower in Your Pocket” by The Arcs reminds me of being in art school, especially like. 2016-2018. Same with “Bassem Sabry” by of Montreal, my professor had it in the figure model drawing playlist.

For an album, I was a HUUUGE Avril Lavigne fan when I was a kid. I think my parents bought Let Go for my older emo sister, but she didn’t like her so I ended up getting it. I was 5 years old LMAO. So Avril was pretty much the soundtrack to my early years.

crème caramel ー describe your favorite breakfast

I was going to say pancakes— which I do love so much— but I just had the memory of eating toutons at my Nan’s house and. Yeah. Toutons are pan fried bread dough and you eat them like a pancake, with syrup or molasses. When I was a kid I would eat them with syrup AND sugar. Now I just have em with syrup. It’s been so long since I’ve had them but now I have a craving 😩

I also love an open toast sandwich— scrambled eggs and avocado and cheese… it’s all gooey and then the bread gives it crunch so it isn’t sensory hell. Loves it!

so today was a lot of fun!! the cupsleeve was crowded and loud and i kinda wanted to leave but me and my bff stayed just long enough to get freebies and dip lol then we went to a couple of kpop gift shops :3

and that’s where i found these~

then we went to a grocery store and i found pokemon candies with my baby sobble on them 🥺🥺🥺 my bff was like “you’re really gonna buy candy just bc one of your fave pokemon is on it?” and i said “people do that with kpop albums all the time!” so i think i was in the right 😌

oh and we got taiyaki ice cream but i forgot to take my lactose intolerance pills so my stomach started to hate me after a couple of bites 😭😭😭 but it was sooo good 😔 hehe i briefly daydreamed about taking you there and feeding you my ice cream 🥺🩵

then we went to a bakery and i bought some egg tarts! i just had one and it was so good! i was looking to see if i should buy anything else and realized i was looking with you in mind 😭 recently i’ve been shopping like i intend to come home to you and being you a little treat djshhss gift giving is one of my love languages >< i like the idea of getting you something just bc i was thinking of you~

overall today was really nice!! i wish i was spending it with you but at the same time i would not wish being in this heat on my worst enemy walking around was so miserable we tried our hardest to stay inside of air conditioned buildings all day sjshhs so i’ll have to come to you instead. make room for me honey~ save me from this disgusting heat and allow me to seek refuge in your loving arms 🥺🥺🥺🩵
