So guys, I'm reading this webtoon "My comeback as the youngest member" and I love it because literally regressor idols is my favorite genre (oddly specific I know) but...

One of the things I like the most is when they reference real idols and I'm there like a kid picking on the reference, names, songs, mvs, concepts...

But usually is not that blunt like, it's recognizable but not the literally name.

This one time however:

Vanner's leader is Lee Taehwan, so his name starts with the same 태 as Taeseong... And I know is mostly only a coincidence rather than a reference but as a vvs (vanner's fandom name) this was so weird 😭 I don't know how to feel. Taehwan is such a cutie pie btw, this was just weird 😭

There is a glimpse of where all of this relentless work might lead in “Jung Kook: I Am Still,” a new documentary/performance supercut focusing on the youngest member of BTS, who last year became, in disorientingly short order, the most commercially successful K-pop solo star in American pop.

BTS is the ne plus ultra of Hybe plan — this film is one of several that has focused on the group or its members. It captures, sometimes just barely, the frantic eight-month stretch in which Jung Kook was thrust into solo stardom before enlisting in South Korea’s mandatory military service.

This is what all the hard work of being in BTS was for, ostensibly — a shot at extending his career beyond the very wide boundaries of the group’s accomplishments. Or put more plainly: more hard work.

To the extent that “Jung Kook: I Am Still” is a film at all — as opposed to a slapdash collection of casual moments, behind-the-scenes fan service clips and music and concert videos — it is a film about labor. Or more precisely, the inextricable relationship between labor and glamour.

Like “Pop Star Academy,” it is decidedly unromantic. Jung Kook is alternately enthused and depleted. Even his purported private moments are commoditized: At one point, he’s shown sleeping on a plane. He has a strikingly lithe and sweet voice that’s well-captured on his album “Golden,” a frothy debut that smoothly yanked Justin Timberlake’s comeback lane away from him.

But if Jung Kook is thrilled to be at the top of the charts, he does not show it. Instead, he doubts his vocal range and his natural dance instincts. If he celebrated his ample successes — including a No. 1 single and No. 2 album on U.S. charts — the cameras were not there. If he acted out or pushed back, we’ll never know.

Like many K-pop entertainment companies, Hybe is vertically integrated, and exerts a significant degree of control over its artists’ public presentation. It also builds the metanarratives that become fan manna.

But with success comes courage, or something like it. Not long after NewJeans posted the video about their label concerns, Jung Kook appeared to offer them a measure of support with a pair of cryptic koans: “Artists are not guilty” and “Don’t use them.” Sure, the words appeared on an Instagram account for his dog, but it was revealing — and perhaps indicative of table-turning to come — that they appeared anywhere at all.

This was actually a better article than I was anticipating. The journalist is fair and he cleverly insinuates that k-pop idols don't have much control, if any, over their careers. You can tell he's not a fan of the k-pop model.

Jon Caramanica knows Jungkook's meteoric rise to fame and unbelievable records were just that - unbelievable and entirely manufactured. But nobody in western media, or Korean media, for that matter, is willing to call out HYBE's fraudulence. It drives me crazy.

Anyway, I am grateful to see a music journalist also questioning the ethics and appeal of the Korean k-pop idol model. It's just bizarre that Bang PD thinks western artists are clamoring for complete label control, being overworked and underpaid, and almost zero creative control over one's music.

They were pretty big when they debuted. Young, talented and handsome boys full of dreams and endless bursts of energy, everyone thought they would reach fame in no time... But the industry is known to be the worst kind of environment for youngsters, so harsh, so ruthless.

Mu Qing used to lash at their stuff, he'd get soo angry after hearing them bad mouthing their group, his reputation was in ruins after that.

Feng Xin suddenly appeared with a woman who was pregnant??? HOW?? the boy who feared being near women?? no way. As you can see, it was a BIG SCANDAL.

Xie Lian was framed. He was the it-boy, so beautiful, with the voice of an angel and the charisma and stage presence of a star. Everyone loved him... well.... not everyone. Lots of other idols were envious of him, so they decided to ruin him, making him seem that he was involved with drugs and the mafia. It was absolute chaos.

Nobody knows what happened to Red. He was the youngest and the most silent of the four. Some fans believed he wasn't even part of the group to begin with. So, when he disappeared nobody thought about him.

It was really bad, but you know what they say, time heals everything.

Mu Qing became a famous model, with lots of contracts and brand deals, his face EVERYWHERE. His attitude didn’t improve but being in the fashion world, it was expected from a top model, so people didn’t care anymore.

Feng Xin re-started his career as an actor. His new fans didn’t care that he was a father at such a young age. In fact, it was celebrated if you know what I mean (hot actor daddy? oh.)

Xie Lian didn’t know how, why, where, WHEN, but a happy accident that was captured and uploaded in twitter went viral, MILLIONS OF VIEWS. It was incredible and catched  the attention of an agency managing youtubers. He ended up being featured in lots of Chuu Can do it videos. Those two were a sight to see, people loved them and the channel grew lots.

There was this new soloist, people were going crazy, LIKE INTERNATIONALLY. Hua Cheng was a really tall and handsome guy, with a strong presence and killing voice. He was mysterious and out of reach, his fandom was getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. HE WAS THE PRIDE OF THE COUNTRY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. but, nobody knew about his beginnings…

Well, everyone was surprised (to say the least)  when they heard that THE famous Hua Cheng wanted to be featured in one of xie lian's shows.... oh, what’s going on??

Soulaa, Upria is where I was raised but Brooklyn NY was where I was born to my wealthy mother Julia Anya Martin who owns one of the top 5 flower stores in New York and my father James Sean Martin who is a Science Tech At NASA ( Instrument Design) . While living Soulaa, Upria it taught me so many things about my culture that has shaped me into the person I am culturally at a very young age. My childhood was filled with happiness and laughter and I was very spoiled, it came with being the youngest out of my two sisters Yasmine and Sapphire. It was the best thing ever because I got literally everything I wanted until my younger sister Xyla and brother Tymir was born. My love for kpop came in very young because my mom loved T-ARA and Girls Generation so the obsession was bound to come. But what really inspired me was the day I watched the “y si fuera ella” cover by jonghyun and I never looked back. I did Volleyball, Majorette and Gymnastics until I was about 14 years old so I have a lot of trophies so I had a lot of dance practice ever since i was little and it’s where i get my flexibility. Singing and Dancing was something I always had a passion for and was always very good at it but I have stage fright and when I get nervous I mess up. I got into my training under “StarLight Ent” when I was 16 by sending my audition tape of me singing Bruno Mars’s “Talking To The Moon” and was a trainee for a year until i was selected by the big 3 “JYP,SM, HYBE” i then sent my audition tape to me singing “I’m Yours” By Jason Mraz and dancing a hip-hop choreography to “Exchange” by Bryson Tiller to JYP ENT which was accepted so when my celebration was over we took a flight straight to South Korea. On the flight there my dad was teaching me some Korean so I can get familiar with the language then he said he would get the best Korean tutor that money can by and also enrolled me into school which is where I met Hyunjin, I.N and Eric for the first time. I still wasn’t 100% confident in using Korean so while I was a trainee I didn’t really talk to people because I didn’t really understand them and I couldn’t really speak it fluently. While I was a trainee I did stay in the jyp dorms a lot and I roomed with Yuna and Yeji from ITZY and we got very close very fast and created so many fun and funny tis also where I met majority of my idol friends and mentors (from jyp). Three years later on November 12 2018 day I was chilling eating my food and watching YouTube with Hyunjin at his house and I had got a call from Chan saying that he wanted both me and Hyunjin to be apart of his group which Hyunjin had accepted at first but I was a bit hesitant because I still wanted to take my gymnastics seriously but I ended up saying yes and became the third and only girl member of skz.

the met gala wasn’t a new occurrence to you after your first invitation when you were freshly eighteen. back then, your attendance made headlines as you had become the youngest guest to attend that year. even more headlines followed when you were handpicked by karl lagerfeld as a muse for the house of chanel. over the years you became a known figure within the fashion industry while dominating the western music industry. the level of success you’d reached in a few short years was recognized by numerous awards, accolades, and several gold and platinum album titles to your name. even with the musical success, you never forgot that fashion was really your claim to fame many years ago. hence why you graciously accepted a met invitation every single year. 

to many, the met gala is a star studded night where you get gussied up in clothes from top designers in high fashion, meet other A-list celebrities, and do whatever the hell you do inside because nobody seems to know. in reality, it was waking up at six in the morning then getting ready all day, walking a red carpet, answering the same 5 questions from reporters who hopefully remembered your name, then sat through what felt like the world’s longest and most awkward dinner. the only highlight of the event was finding out that one of your friends was only two tables away from you, rather than the usual five or six. overall, the real fun started at the afterparties which you always ended up being roped into attending then drunkenly leaving hand in hand with some supermodel you met that night. 

you sat in a suite on the 15th floor of the iconic Mark Hotel as your stylists, makeup artists, and management and PR team bustled around to make sure you were ready for tonight. the theme was Karl Lagerfeld, the designer that picked you as his muse years ago. your outfit was a handpicked piece designed by the esteemed german courtier. originally worn by linda evanglista in the Chanel Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 1991-1992 in Paris Fashion week. the entire morning was doing small interviews for Vogue and other fashion media outlets that get most of their press from this event. there was a smile on your face as you told the camera before you, “i’m super excited for this evening because i don’t think many people know i’m attending the event. i’ve been trying my best to keep it on the down low, but i think people are going to figure it out before i get to the carpet.” there was a small laugh followed by your words that trailed off on the end, specifically because you knew of a certain someone that was hoping just this once you wouldn’t show. 

“unnie, did you see the headlines?” the thai idol asked with urgency in her tone that made her member’s heart race. the older woman hesitated to answer, but she went silent as she read the headline that appeared over the banner at the top of her screen:

jennie stared at her phone and lisa cautiously prompted, “are you okay?” jennie took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before saying, “why wouldn’t i be? it’s whatever. she gets invited every year, i don’t know why this would be any different.” she paused for a moment then abruptly commented, “i have to go. i’ll talk to you later.” the younger woman gave a weak smile, “okay bye, i’ll talk to you later.” in a sudden bout of frustration jennie tossed her phone across the room onto the bed then brought her hands to her forehead as she mumbled, “fuck…” there were light taps on her hands as her makeup artist silently chided her not to mess up her perfectly made up face. for the next hour she remained silent until she had to put on a smile for the cameras and fans that swarmed the porte-co·chère of the hotel down below. 

the car ride to the carpet was dead silent as jennie tried to soothe her nerves before enduring the next eight to ten hours on her own. through the deeply tinted glass jennie could see her security team waiting for her to step out of the car. one of the staff members assigned to her for the evening warmly assured her, “take as long as you need, miss kim.” she gave a curt nod and a hushed thank you before holding the door handle for a moment. one of the security guards pulled open the door and held a hand out to assist her out of the large black SUV. 

cameras flashed and fans shrieked and screamed as they desperately tried to earn jennie’s attention from their barricaded sections that flanked the entrance of the carpet. the idol waved and smiled for the cameras as she’d been taught to so many years ago, her smile turning genuine when she laid eyes on a familiar petite brunette. the young influencer passed jennie a mic and asked enthusiastically, “how are you?” with her eyes glued forward for a moment too long, jennie replied, “i’m everywhere. this is my first Met…” emma asked in slight surprise, “first Met?” the korean singer nodded and continued answering the quick questions on her current feelings. she laughed as the younger girl somewhat awkwardly yet genuinely shared the same thoughts of being nervous and anxious before such a large event. for just a moment jennie glanced to her right thinking she saw someone she knew. her blood ran cold when she realized she did know the person- you looking her way with the same narrowed gaze that dripped of venom and honey that had her spellbound from the first time. 

a smirk tugged at the corner of your lips after seeing the affect you still had on her after she supposedly stopped caring about you. for the fun of it, you shot her a wink before turning around and kissing the cheek of the interviewer that was speaking with you. jennie flinched ever so lightly then laughed awkwardly in a futile attempt to play it off. she quickly thanked emma for the interview then rushed off to the usher that was to guide her along the carpet. the remainder of the carpet went by in the blink of an eye. largely in part to the fact that she disassociated for the entire thing, only regaining awareness of her surroundings as she was ushered inside. 

jennie followed the usher to her table where her placecard was sitting daintily with her name handwritten in elegant calligraphy. she sat down gracefully beside another supermodel she’d yet to learn the name of then introduced herself politely. as more guests filed in, she couldn’t help but scan the room in search of you. the open seat beside her with a placecard that read a simple RESERVED made her stomach twist into knots. underneath the white tablecloth she bounced her leg anxiously, desperately hoping nobody around her noticed the soft clicking sound around the table. another usher made their way to her table and she took a breath of relief when she saw dua lipa approaching with a warm smile. however, the feeling was short lived when the albanian singer bent down and kissed her cheek with a slight pout. she explained quietly, “hi love, i wanted to come over and tell you myself that they’ve moved my seat this evening. but i’ll catch up with you later, alright?” jennie tried to answer as quickly and politely as possible to get in her question of who was taking dua’s place. 

the question was answered before it could even leave jennie’s lips when she heard you speak from over her shoulder, “thank you so much for understanding, babes. have a great evening and we’ll chat later!” you sat down beside jennie and greeted the other guests at your table which you were seemingly familiar with to some extent. the idol shifted beside you and you gave her what appeared to others as the warmest and welcoming smile, “jennie it’s been a while hasn’t it?” the woman saw through you as if you were made of glass, yet she refused to cause a scene at the Met Gala of all events. so, she plastered on a smile and hugged you back, “it has, how have you been?” she humored you in conversation and did her best to wiggle her way out of exclusively talking to you by roping the other table guests into the conversation. however, no matter how much she tried, you always managed to turn the topic exclusive to the two of you. jennie wondered how nobody else around her could see the lack of genuinity in your eyes, that you were intentionally toying with her like some game. but then again, why would anyone suspect you, a known sweetheart, of such a thing. 

you smiled to yourself as you did small things to get under jennie’s skin and give her the attention you craved. wether it be a hand trailing along her thigh or lightly hitting her foot with your own beneath the tablecloth. seeing her clenched teeth and smiles that faltered for just a split second were all the reward you needed to spur you on further. the moment that you all were dismissed to look around the museum exhibit, jennie was on her feet and eager to leave your side. you made no effort to follow her immediately, instead you found a handful of familiar faces and did your rounds to those you both did and didn’t care for…you did have a reputation to uphold anyway. an hour passed and you finally had eyes on jennie once more, she stood alone in front of a mannequin with yet another vintage Chanel piece. you watched her from afar, taking in the way she stared at the clothing with a genuine admiration and curiosity. the sight made your heart flutter as she reminded you of the first time you both met years ago. 

the feeling of warmth that bloomed in your heart ran cold when you saw some random man approach her. from his outfit alone you knew that he was someone’s plus one or an influencer that purchased his own ticket for the event. the way he stared at jennie with almost a sense of hunger and desperation made your skin crawl. you slowly made your way across the floor, wondering if she would actually need someone to intervene. her smiles were polite but you could see the way her eyes flitted from his with nearly every word she spoke as if she was searching for an escape. the stiff mannerisms of hers came to a halt when the guy attempted to place a hand around her waist, making her flinch out of surprise. without hesitation you rushed to her side in less than three strides. 

you slipped your arm behind her waist with ease, the familiar feeling bringing a genuine smile to your face. turning towards her you kissed her cheek, “hey beautiful i thought i lost you back there.” she looked up at you, a flash of fear still lingering in her gaze prompting you to pull her closer to your body. the guy in front of her tried to continue his conversation but you cut him off, “she’s with me. i expect that you’ll be returning to your table now, yes?” if looks could kill the young man would have been gone yesterday. he grew nervous with you, of all guests, standing over him, so much so that he couldn’t even utter an actual apology before literally running off. 

jennie continued to stand in your hold with her hand toying at the heavy gold belts wrapped around your waist. you remained silent as you lightly took her shaking hand into your free one, “jen?” she continued to stare at the same spot on the ground as you prompted once more, “jennie?” the idol snapped out of her trance and pulled away from you, “thank you for that…” she watched as your features softened in a way that made her heart beg that she cave into you and give you the type of attention she used to. your tone changed with the next words you spoke, this time they were genuine, the same way you used to speak to her, “yeah…of course, Nini.” her heart raced at the last word, so familiar and nearly made her crack but she internally put her fist down. she wasn’t about to start this, not now and especially not here. she backed away from you as if you were a burning flame that was moments from losing control. the singer straightened her posture then said coldly, “don’t call me that.” she turned on her heel then hurried off to go talk to another A-list supermodel that probably didn’t remember what group she was actually from. 

throughout the entire rest of the night jennie avoided you like the plague, no eye contact, no words exchanged, it was like you were invisible to her. the main event ended and the after parties were getting ready to begin. one of your managers found you and rushed you to meet your stylists where you were changed for the second look of the night. keeping with the theme, you wore a long sleeved white tweed top, black pants, and a large gold chanel belt. the look was worn by beverly peele in the chanel spring 1993 show. chunky gold bracelets adorned your wrist while the belt quite honestly felt like wearing a weighted hula hoop. nevertheless, you were guaranteed to be the talk of the night once again. 

TipToe by Jason Derulo blasted over the speakers in one of the many rooms within the multi-million dollar mansion owned by some uppity tycoon on the Upper East Side. the lights were off with the exception of burnt orange neon lights that barely lit a damn thing in the room. despite the windows being open, the entire house felt hot as hell with all the sweaty bodies of drunk and high supermodels, singers, and A-list actors. you watched who danced alongside you, trying to avoid meeting strangers with wandering hands and lustful gazes. as you skimmed the crowd around you, a tall blonde dragged a small black haired woman to dance with her. once again your interest peaked at seeing jennie in the perfect place for you to make another move. 

the bass of the music thrumed throughout your entire body as you danced your way over the now cluster of girls with jennie. you threw an arm around one of the women’s shoulders and shouted over the music, “Kenny!” the supermodel turned to face you and her face lit up as she pulled you into a hug, “Y/N!” jennie slowed her movements to the beat of the music as she watched you talking to the girl next to her. the nerves only lasted a minute because a second later she was pressing herself against Hailey Baldwin with her head resting on her shoulder and wrapping the blonde’s arm tighter around her torso. the unsuspecting model simply laughed and kissed jennie’s temple as she swayed to the beat jennie set. just as you began to look away, jennie opened one eye and smirked when she saw your dissatisfied expression  and pretended you were invisible all over again. 

you grew impatient and slowly slipped between Kendall and Hailey which they welcomed without question. jennie tried to keep Hailey against her but your arm slid between their bodies and Hailey switched positions with you to dance with Kendall. jennie began to make a move to leave but you pulled her back flush against your front. the gentle touch of your fingers ran down her arm making goosebumps form on her skin. you chuckled lowly and said into her ear, “come on now, dance with me.” the warmth of your body against hers was a feeling she thought she’d forgotten but now it was as if you’d never left. she turned to face you, gaining some control back before she attempted to make her leave, “i don’t want to dance with you.” her voice was saying one thing while her mind and body said another prompting you to ask, “are you sure because the way you’re holding my arm on your waist is telling me otherwise.” 

jennie glared at you through those cat-like, chocolate brown eyes and thick black lashes with a gaze that made your heart race. she watched as your eyes crawled over her body with such a hunger that she would have gagged if it was anyone else. you pulled her closer to you, closing the gap between your bodies and for just a moment she almost gave into your touch. once again she backed up and swallowed thickly, “i’m doing just fine with my friends here.” you stared at her unfazed then glanced over to Kendall and Hailey who were lost in their own offbeat two step to Alone by Kim Petras. god, jennie wished she could kiss wipe that stupidly perfect, coy smirk off of your face. a few people around you both noticed that you were no longer dancing and instead standing in a confrontational position before jennie. she looked at the hand she was still holding to her body and sighed as she turned back around, dancing against your front, “i’m just not trying to cause a scene.” you laughed lowly into her ear, “whatever you say, angel.” 

you held her slender waist to your body and the hand that rested by her leg into your own, lacing your fingers together with a smile. jennie slipped her hand out of yours and you tsked quietly, “and about your friends- you know goddamn well none of these girls give a fuck about you, they just care about the title you carry. they’re all up on you just to take a picture and use it to get an extra million likes and comments. you’re wasting your time staying around them because after tonight it’s gonna be like you two never met.” the idol hated to admit it but you were 100% right. when it came to western celebrities, they heard the name BLACKPINK in tandem with one of the members names, and they were immediately trying to befriend them for clout. it was evident in the way they called jisoo by the wrong name, never pronounced rosé with the proper accent, just plain forgot lisa’s name, and how at least 12 people tonight called jennie ‘jenna’ instead. despite that, she was completely used to it by now and expected ingenuity from the celebrities that she met overseas. 

the singer shot you a side glare and you frowned to mock her, “don’t give me that face, just admit the fact that you know i’m right.” jennie rolled her eyes and asked in annoyance,  “and what if you are? why should i care about any of that?” you answered simply, “because you and i both know you aren’t enjoying this right now.” jennie swallowed thickly as your breath ghosted the shell of her ear and she lied straight through her teeth, “i don’t know what you’re talking about, y/n. i’m having a good time.” this time your tone was slightly harsher but in a way that made her stomach erupt into butterflies, “jennie cut the shit, i know more than anyone what you look like when you’re enjoying yourself.” heat rushed to her cheeks at the implication of your words, memories filling her head only making her blush deeper. 

you felt the way her body began melting into your touch and she slowly started giving into what she both desperately wanted and knew she shouldn’t do. she shook the thought from her head and turned back to face you, once again fighting internally with herself to walk away. the way your eyes transfixed on her was no help but then you uttered the words, “come on mama, let me show you a good time…for old time’s sake.” jennie clenched her jaw and you leaned your forehead against hers, without even realizing it her arms ended up over your shoulders. the feeling of your fingers trailing up her mini black dress made her stumble, making you wrap an arm around her waist once more. her voice was weak when she tried to reply with confidence, “i-i don’t think-” all you had to do was raise one eyebrow and give that same damned smile to get her to cave, “just for tonight.” immediately you smiled the million dollar smile the world fell in love with as you led jennie through the crowd to find a place in the 32 rooms of the oversized mansion. she held onto your hand until you rounded a corner and pushed it open before pressing it closed with her back against. she hated how easily she gave into your wishes but she couldn’t help it with the way you felt her up with ease, making her get lost in all that you were, making her feel like you did all those years ago.

HI. i just washed up and made myself comfortable so i could divert all my free time & attention to this post right here bc OH BOY do i have a lot to say

although i'm not particularly sure how he became my bias? i dont even think he was in the running until one day i was watching the second season of show me the mwm (the episode where they have to find their symbol in a morning mission) and seoho straight up ate xion's lollipop. i remember thinking oh. he's the one!!

i think the main thing i like about seoho is how effortlessly he makes me laugh?? we all know he's kind of shy but at the same time he's not afraid to make a fool out of himself and just does whatever feels right and somehow it works... i faintly remember him talking about wanting to be a comedian as a kid, because he loved making people laugh and everytime i have to catch my breath after another one of his silly antics, a part of me hopes that he knows that's exactly what he's doing right now.

and yeah he's incredibly funny but also really fucking smart and his out of the box thinking often blows my mind. his big brain is sexy as hell and i love how he just keeps me on my toes and surprises me with something new every single time!! and with every single new thing i learn about him my heart grows in size. there's galaxies in this man's mind that i can't WAIT to discover!!

i think.. when it comes to seoho it's very easy for people to lock him in the box of the "silly hyung who loves joking around and often acts like the maknae" and throw away the key.. stereotyping idols happens a lot, and when shit hit the fan, people said some things that i vehemently disagree with when it comes to his role as the oldest in oneus. first of all, i don't think that role means as much in their group as it does in others bc they treat each other as equals to begin with? but it's crazy to me how people look at seoho and don't see how much of a support/pillar he is to his members.

seoho, reliable 민이형 who makes sure dongju doesnt fall short of anything he needs (even if he doesnt know it himself) and gladly indulges the youngest in all his passions and interests even if he pretends to dislike it.

seoho, the one hwanwoong goes to late at night for comfort because he feels like he's the one who understands him best. the first two rbw boyz who share a deeper understanding.

seoho, keonhee's twin. i may be biased but these two have so much in common and constantly feed off each other in so many ways. they're often giggling by themselves, share the same deep passion for singing and music (exhibit A: every single one of their vlives), and hwanwoong mentioning how the roommates are getting more and more alike as time goes by in their recent vlive just tells me how close they are even if we don't see that much of it on camera. (this was supposed to be a paragraph about how seoho takes care of keonhee but of course my keonho biased ass ended up here). what i meant to say is i think seoho, as keonhee's roommate, provides both those "need a boys night in with some beers and a pinch of crazy karaoke" kinda vibes as well as the guidance and understanding keonhee might be in need of. i think they match each other's energy well.

seoho, geonhak's (i dare say) best friend. a day without seodo banter is like going a day without water. seoho has geonhak's back like no other. you mess with gh, you mess with seoho, and he's not afraid to let you know either. the "we stand shoulder to shoulder" line in the top gun medley is actually about them.

and to think people don't see seoho as someone who can adequately care for his members is both beyond ridiculous and sad to me. just bc you can't see his love language doesn't mean they can't.

AND THAT IS NOT TO MENTION THE SHEER TALENT this man posseses but i won't get into the way his voice gives me chills and he often leaves me shooting heart eyes at my screen after a performance. i also won't elaborate on how amazing a dancer he is and how he somehow also is great at sports and how his talking voice is so soothing and comforting i sometimes put on old vlives to ease my anxiety (i'm literally listening to his last bubble live as i'm typing this. it's my fav so far.)

i also won't mention his pretty smile and his beautiful eyes and his amazing hands and the little freckle on his cheek and the shape of his lips and when he goes :} and how much i love the sound of his laugh.

i'm probably missing sooooo much but i've been going at this for over an hour and it's been a long day so i just want to say i love him a lot and i would pull down the moon for him.

Chapter 11

Back Again

Three months had gone by and school was starting up again. Keita was a trainee, he didn't make it through YG treasure box. He took it surprisingly well. He's still chasing his dream. Ricky went back to China right after graduation. Jiwoo became and idol, debuting in a group called Nmixx. Yunjin also debuted in a popular girl group known as Le sserafim. 

Ever since Keita and Jiwoo left, my life is been pretty boring. Yunjin is barely ever here because of her group schedule. The youngest member of her group, Eunchae, also recently started attending SOPA. She's really funny, and we're the same age, so that's cool. My days kind of go by in a blur. It's not that they're super busy, just that there is nothing to fill them. I no longer have my best friend by my side, I really only have Yunjin as my best friend these days. Its pretty lonely and quiet in the dorm because Yunjin moved out. Wow... how did I just now realize that I literally have the whole dorm to myself... jeez, I need something to get me living again.

"DUDE?!? Hana, are you here?" The door slammed and Yunjin yelled at me loudly.

"Yeah I'm here, what's up?"

"It's time for class."

"You came all the way to the dorm just to tell me that?"

"Yeah, I wanna walk with you. It's our last first day of school. WE'RE SENIORS, we gotta make it special."

"Ok, ok, fine." 

I finished my breakfast, grabbing my phone and backpack, heading out the door behind Yunjin. We silently walked to our next class. Everyone was rowdy because it was the first day of school, especially the senior. Eric, Seungho, and Aaron came to meet us. We were the only seniors left in the 'it' group. Eunchae was also welcomed into the 'it' group, after all she was a debuted artist. 

We all walked into our advanced dance class, which was first period. Standing there was one of the last people I ever expected to see in this school again. Next to our dance teacher was... Keita?

"Hello class! Today you have a special assignment. You will be pairing up with each other to make a dance for a grade and the K-pop music festival. Since the top dancer of the summer has yet to be revealed, we will do so now. The top dancer will be pairing with Keita for the festival, and will be graded on your performance and choreography. Each group will get a theme from this bowl."

Everyone murmurs, already thinking about their partners. We were all excited for special assignments, especially getting to perform at the K-pop music festival. Some of the biggest names will be there. 

"Alright, our top dancer is.... Akahana Adams." I wasn't really surprised to hear my name, I had been top dancer since I started coming here. Now I just had to think about dancing with Keita. 

"Come get your theme." My teacher directed. I walked up to the front, digging my hand in the bowl for a slip of paper.

"S-sexy?"

My teacher laughed at the look on my face. Keita also did. It was kind of weird because we haven't seen each other since right before he went on ygtb a few months ago. I had watched it live as soon as it came out, but we had yet to talk. We communicated threw very few texts. 

"You two get practice room one, go have fun!" My teacher instructed us.

We silently walked to the first practice room. I didn't know what to say to him, and I assume it was the same for him. When we got to the practice room, I still didn't speak. I only stretched silently. 

"You're not going to talk to me?" Keita asked, moving my hand to his shoulder for stability as I stretched my quad muscle.

"I-... no. I just don't know what to say to you."

"Oh come on Hana, we're best friend! You always know what to say to me."

"Yeah well, we also haven't really talked all that much, let alone seen each other in a few months."

"Exactly, you should've jumped into my arms the moment you saw me, or at least have done it by now."

I rolled my eyes at Keita playfully. I knew he was half expecting me to, so I jumped into his arms, hugging him tightly.

"I missed you baby." He spoke softly into my shoulder. I let my legs slide down from around his waist, laying my head against his shoulder when my feet were safely on the ground.

"I missed you too Kei." 

We stood there hugging for a few minutes. The warmth radiating off of him was something I hadn't felt in so long. I remember being addicted to his hugs when we were younger, I would use any excuse I had to cuddle close to him, or wrap my arms around his neck so he'd wrap his around my waist.

"Kei... I think I'm gonna go home when I graduate."

"WHAT?! But Hana, why would you leave? Isn't it your dream to be a dancer in Korea?"

"Well yeah, but nothing's happening for me Keita. I don't have friends anymore, I live alone in my dorm. I haven't seen my mom and dad in 3 years. My days blur by because they're empty. I'm just... I'm lost Keita. I'm losing myself. I got caught up in this dream that I thought I could achieve, but it's taking me nowhere and... I-... I'm lost."

"Well... write songs with those lyrics... damn. And wait... you live alone in the dorm?"

"Yeah Hayoon and Jiwoo graduated remember?"

"Yeah but what about Yunjin?"

"She debuted Keita. She's in Le sserafim. She moved out."

"Damn... she's at BigHit?"

"Yeah."

"You're actually alone in that huge ass dorm?"

"Yes Keita... I don't even really have friends anymore. There are 4 seniors left in the 'it' group. Yunjin is never here because of schedule and that leaves Eric, Seungho, and Aaron. I'm friends with Eunchae, the macknae of Yunjin's group, but like Yunjin, she's barely here. I kinda fell apart after you left."

"I'm so sorry Hana. I promise I'll talk to you every day from now on. And please don't go home... then I'll get to see you less."

"I'm sorry if these let's you down Keita... but I don't know if I can stay. Nothings going right for me right now and I just-... I don't wanna cry anymore Keita."

"No babe, I get it, but look at me. I kinda hate to use myself as an example but... I wasn't even really all that close to debuting with Treasure. I'm young and inexperienced compared to the others... so I didn't make it. But the point it, I'm not giving up. I'm a trainee at a different agency now, and I'm gonna keep going until I make my debut. Your slaying at this school. Your top of your class at academics, and top of your ADVANCED dance class... AT A FREAKING FINE ARTS SCHOOL. You're not always gonna be the most experienced, you're not always gonna be the best, so if you cant handle it while you are the best... then you gotta toughen up Hana."

"I-... okay. What if nothing happens for me though? What if I stay stuck?"

"You're literally a dancing prodigy. Something will happen for you. How about we just focus on the dance for now, kay?"

"Okay." I agreed.

We began the long process of choreographing a dance... hopefully we'll do good.

Group Dorm - MAX1M Entertainment

Today is YUM1E's debut day, all the members were looking forward to their debut with the single: Dream World, the MV has already been released and now they are officially a loop group, ready to handle a big hit.

- Finally! Our group debuted! - said Brighie - Long live YUM1E!

- Alive! - said the other members

Everyone cheered, now they were happy that their years as simple trainees were over and they were now a real group.

- Our trainee years were horrible - said Vicky - every humiliation we went through to debut

- Especially for you two, isn't it? - said Miah - Sophie and Lollo

The aforementioned were very sad because their teachers humiliated them a lot because the two were not of the Korean beauty standard, because the two they were foreigners, hence more and more prejudice.

Flashback - Sophie's Mind

A flashback in Sophie's mind, showing her and her youngest sister Lollo, both in the practice room, creating a super difficult choreography that the teacher had passed, but what saddened Sophie, was the fact that whatever mistakes they had, but charges for "perfection" they are.

- Did you get it wrong again? - said the teacher - she had to be a foreigner, if she were Korean she wouldn't make a mistake.

- I'm sorry ma'am - said Sophie - I'll try harder

- You will never be good enough, neither you nor your sister who is also a negation - said the teacher - I admire that the CEO still accepts foreigners in the auditions, I don't think there should be this global audition joke, K-pop is for Koreans, not for foreigners. Back in position!

Sophie returned to her position, and practiced that choreography for hours, it seemed that being a foreigner, no matter how hard she tried, it would be worthless.

Sophie came out of the flashback relieved and now as a K-idol, she will prove to her sister and her group that they can be a success.

Sunny was in her hangar with her headphones on listening to a K-pop playlist, ranging from 3th generation groups (Super Junior, Girls Generation, EXO, Big Bang, 2NE1, 4Minute and others) to current groups of the 4th generation (IVE, æspa, New Jeans, NMIXX and others), but then a song Sunny had never heard, Dream World by YUM1E.

Sunny started listening and immediately fell in love with the group, with the music that was contagious and pleasant to listen to, with the members who were very beautiful and by the fantasy concept, totally different from anything you've ever seen.

- What was this? This song is wonderful! - Sunny said replaying Dream World - I need to hear it again!

Sunny listened once, twice, three times and hundreds of times, she didn't stop anymore, the music became bubblegum in Sunny.

After Sunny's wonderful encounter with Dream World, she got to know the group and its members in depth, not to mention that she was now part of the group's famdom, and of course, Vicky became her Bias.

- I need to show this to the girls - Sunny said - I'm sure they love Dream World as much as I do!

Days later

Sunny called her Super Wings friends to listen to the song and give their opinion, they all loved it as the musical Super Wing already predicted, They started talking and getting to know more about the group and each one of them had their own bias.

SHINee member Key has returned with a fiery music video for his new single ‘Killer’.

On February 13 at 6PM KST, the idol unveiled a powerful music video for ‘Killer’, the lead single of his new re-packaged album of the same name.

The new visuals follows Key in the aftermath of a car crash as he continues to feed the flames. In other scenes, the K-pop star performs the song’s choreography from an underground tunnel while clad in a glittery jacket.

“I’m the killer (Killer) / After a cruel breakup / Pull the trigger (Trigger) / I broke your heart / Like a thriller (Thriller),” he sings in the chorus of the new synth-filled single.

‘Killer’ is a re-release of the SHINee singer’s sophomore studio album ‘Gasoline’, which he released in August 2022. The 11-track record was led by its title track of the same name and included the B-side ‘Another Life’, which was named one of the best K-pop songs of 2022 by NME.

In addition to ‘Killer’, the record now includes new B-sides ‘Heartless’ and ‘Easy’, on top of the original songs in ‘Gasoline’.

In December, fellow SHINee member Minho became the final member of the boyband to go solo with his debut mini-album ‘Chase’. In an interview with NME, the idol shared how the members of SHINee inspire each other in their solo work: “There is a mutual desire among our group to constantly be better than ourselves. There is a bit of a healthy competition, of motivating and almost instigating each other to try hard and evolve as artists.”

- Never thought about being a K-Pop idol until Lilia signed up Malleus, Sebek, Silver and himself up for auditions

- Tamagotchi ambassador (the Roaring Drago Tamagotchis made a comeback thanks to Malleus, and they sold out in a matter of minutes)

- Doesn’t really understand who or what “stans” are; he asked Lilia once why their fans were all named “Stan”

- His grandmother, the esteemed Queen of Briar Valley who’s lived thousands of years, is now a K-Pop stan and always buys Diasomnia’s merch and albums

🦇 Lilia Vanrouge:

- Eldest member and oldest K-Pop idol in the history of existence (no one knows his real age, not even the company)

- Lead vocalist, dancer, sub-rapper

- Goes through different hair colors every month (not because the company told him to, but because he wants to)

- Plays rock guitar in his free time

- Tries to cook for the group members but fails HORRIBLY. Also appears on cooking variety shows with Jade

- Lilia collects his own group’s albums and merch just to get more photocards of Malleus, Silver, and Sebek. Sometimes Lilia likes to go to K-Pop stores incognito with a fake mustache to pretend that he’s just a huge fan of Diasomnia

⚡️ Sebek Zigvolt:

- Main rapper (all that shouting and praises for Malleus came in handy) and dancer

- Somehow has time to lead all Malleus fanclubs and cupsleeve events (which are cafe or restaurant events held on idols’ birthdays)

- Establishes himself as Malleus’s #1 fan

- Sebek cries whenever his own fans praise him and give him gifts

- Hair gel and shampoo model on the side. One time Sebek posted a picture on the group’s Magicam with his hair down for once and FANS WENT CRAZY

- WILL argue with a fan about being Malleus’s “biggest fan”

⚔️ Silver:

- Maknae of the group (even though Sebek is technically the youngest member at the moment, Silver is going to be younger than Sebek at one point due to Sebek’s half-fae slow aging. Thus, the company and the group decided that Silver would be the maknae)

- Main dancer and sub-vocalist (dancing keeps him awake)

- Always asleep during Live Magicams with the group

- Appears in a lot of mattress commercials as a model and ambassador

- Too naive and dense to realize when a fan is flirting with him, but when he smiles at how excitable fans are, OH BOY (the fans literally faint)

- Lilia is still his adoptive father and Silver still calls Lilia “Father” sometimes during Live Magicams. Fans just think Lilia’s like the parent of the group and don’t think too much of it

SUMMARY | when itzy and nct dream meet on weekly idol, one member of itzy catches a certain maknae’s eye.

your palms become sweaty as you nervously sit in the chair, the makeup artist diligently working on your face. wannabe came out about a month ago and the overwhelming popularity and support came flowing through, especially with ryujin’s shoulder part in the beginning. 

itzy’s fandom grew and so did the group as a whole, the six of you continuing to learn more about being an idol. 

but the one thing you were lacking in was interacting with other idols. 

itzy debuted in early 2019 giving you guys a little interaction with others like your brother group, stray kids. but when the whole pandemic hit, causing you all to isolate in quarantine to protect each other, talking to others outside of your company became rare. 

you were extremely awkward when it came to other idols. sure, you could talk to fans. you knew how to act and talk to them since that was a part of your training. but talking to idols, another person who wasn’t a fan, was different. 

unfortunately for you, on the episode of weekly idol you are about to appear on, another group was going to be present. and of course they just had to be one of your favorite boy groups of all time: nct dream.

you’ve always looked up to nct as a whole, but nct dream has always been your favorite because they were young when the six, originally seven, first debuted. you were twelve when you saw their debut stage. dancing has always been a passion of yours. it made you feel free and alive. music has always been a part of you as well. you taught yourself how to write songs and produce them, even releasing music on soundcloud under an alias. 

so ever since you saw nct dream debut, you decided you wanted to be an idol too. three years later and you’re in itzy, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. but now that you were going to be in close proximity to the people you’ve looked up to for so long, even talking to them made your head hurt. 

ryujin bumped your hip teasingly as the six of you prepared to go on screen, knowing how you felt about nct dream. she was casted during a got7 fansign so when she first met them after her debut, that girl was a statue (though she would never admit it). 

“don’t worry y/nnie, i won’t mention your crush on park jisung.” ryujin slyly said before moving to escape your wrath. 

“ryu!” you whined, trying to smack her moving body. your face flushed, the heat rushing to your cheeks at the mention of the older boy. though you’ve never said it outloud, you’ve always had a thing for the maknae of nct. how could you not? he’s tall, polite, has a really good voice, and is the main dancer just like you. his style and the way he moved was beyond impressive, causing you to fall for him even more. 

the girls found out about your so-called “crush” (quotation marks to make you feel better even though you’re head over heels for him) when you saw nct dream in an award show. yuna saw the way you blushed and how your eyes strayed to the tall then pink haired boy a couple tables away from the six of you. since then they’ve all teased you about it whenever they can, making you whine in embarrassment every time. 

you shakily wipe your hands on your outfit, a stylist making a sound of disapproval before you turn to give her a small smile. moving towards a small mirror, you examine how you look with a worried face. your pale blue paper bag jeans were slightly baggy and you cringed knowing you were gonna perform wannabe in those. you adored the flowery top you had on though. it was white with tiny black flowers printed all over, the puff sleeves adding to the look. your hair was slightly curled, the blonde highlights peeking through from your jet black hair. 

you let out a worried breath as the management ushered you to hurry. showtime, you thought to yourself as you anticipated for the words “action”. 

in the middle of the room was the iconic white stage where weekly idol have always held their episodes. on one side was itzy waiting to enter and on the other was nct dream. 

“today is a very special episode for we have two awesome groups joining us today!” one of the hosts exclaimed excitingly, adding on to your nerves. lia sensed your distress and reached to give your hand a reassuring squeeze. 

“give it up for the hottest girl group of their generation, itzy!” the other host yelled before the six of you partied onto the stage. each of you had an excited expression on your face as the two hosts continued on before introducing nct dream.

“let’s warmly welcome one of our favorite teams to have on this show, nct dream!”

your heart raced as you saw the six of them walk on stage goofily, trying not to laugh at how awkward jisung looked. as if he sensed your eyes, jisung’s gaze met yours causing you to look away in shock. suddenly the floor became more interesting than the boy you’ve been crushing on for almost a year. 

“all in us! hello, we are itzy!” the six of you greeted towards the screen. unknowingly to you, the boy you were caught staring at was looking at you too. 

❝ baby you’re like lightning in a bottle ❞

jisung likes to think he’s a simple boy. he doesn’t like breaking the rules and is mostly a good kid. but gosh from the moment you two made eye contact, the brown haired boy was ready to run away then and there. you were pretty. like beyond pretty, and he’s never felt this way before.

sure it was a little creepy and slightly concerning for his image seeing as he currently has heart eyes for you while the cameras are rolling, but jisung couldn’t help himself. that flowery top of yours made you look soft and small, as if he could scoop you up in his arms like a child. jisung knew he was tall but dang, seeing you from afar made him think he was extra tall. the boy chuckled under his breath seeing you wear boots, knowing that gave you an extra boost.

she’s so small, he thought, smiling a bit.

renjun nudged him, noticing the younger was spacing off before following his eyes to a certain member of itzy. the elder smirked a bit as they all did their introductions.

“to the world here is, nct.” 

the boy smugly looked at their maknae who was currently blushing at being caught by his hyung for looking at you.

young love, renjun thought before turning his attention back to the hosts. 

❝ i can’t let you go now that i got it ❞

“so you guys have two main dancers in itzy right?” one of the hosts asks as the 12 idols sit together on chairs. yeji nodded and spoke up.

“yes it’s me and y/nnie but y/n’s a better dancer than me.” she replied, pointing a shoulder to you. you quickly rebutted and waved your hands in disagreement.

“no way~” you denied, turning red. “yeji unnie is the best.” you replied shyly, an awkward thumbs up to try and back up your claim. 

everyone cooed at your shy face. although you were the second youngest in itzy, 4 months older than your maknae, yuna’s much taller than you which made you look like the youngest. because of this everyone, including yuna, tended to child you because you were just so baby. 

“weren’t you a part of a highlight reel?” the other host asks you, once again embarrassing you. the girls laughed, the other six boys looked at the host in confusion.

“y/n unnie was apart of bts sunbaenim’s love yourself highlight reel!” yuna exclaimed. although she too was in the highlight reel, yuna always thought you were much cooler because you got selected for your dancing skills. 

everyone gasped in surprise (the hosts a bit more fake since they already knew that) at the revelation. 

“i was able to dance with j-hope sunbaenim and jimin sunbaenim for that highlight reel.” you responded, smiling a bit at the memory. the boys were beyond shocked knowing this must meant you were good. 

“how was it?” a host asks.

you marveled at the thought. “they were such good dancers and really really nice!” you said with a happy expression. “i would definitely love to dance with them again if i were given the opportunity.” the look on your face was clear you loved dancing and loved working with the pair. 

“can you show us the dance?” the host asks and just like that you immediately become a shy mess.

“o-oh um i mean yeah i could do that.” you stuttered as chaeryoung softly pushed you off your chair and into the middle of the room. she smirked a bit at your timid form, knowing what she’s doing. from the moment you walked in, the maknae of nct seemed to be head over heels for you and she knew he was the main dancer just like you.

i swear if they don’t end up together after this i’m suing, chaeryoung thought as she looked at the starstruck boy watching you expectantly. 

❝ and all i need is to be struck ❞

jisung wasn’t surprised to hear that you were one of the main dancers in itzy but to hear that you worked with bts’s j-hope and jimin? he was beyond impressed and (though he would never admit it) was lowkey really excited to see you dance. 

he watched as you timidly walked towards the middle of the stage, calming down your nerves. jisung watched with a faint smile until the music started playing, and just like that he was a goner.

the way you moved, your technique, your facial expressions. everything was mesmerizing. the whole room watched in awe as you danced to the routine you burned into your mind as a trainee, knowing that this was one of your biggest projects ever. in that moment jisung completely fell for you, and everyone in the room except for you knew that. 

“and that’s the end of today’s episode of weekly idol!” you all cheered with the hosts, jisung’s heart beating fast knowing he wanted to talk to you after this episode but not knowing how to. 

“cut!” the director yelled out, a little excited to know what was to come. they of course noticed jisung’s lovestruck expression and the way your eyes lingered on the boy, and of course they didn’t catch it on camera. knowing you two were young and idols, they didn’t want to ruin what you two might have since they were all rooting for you two. 

“if you don’t talk to her i swear i’ll tell her embarrassing stories of you.” donghyuck threatened. just like the others, he too noticed jisung’s attraction to you throughout this whole episode. the boy’s eyes widened in shock, yelping as chenle pushed him towards your way with a small smirk. 

“unnie no.” you cried out, beyond terrified as you watched jisung walk towards you. as soon as the episode ended you were pulled away by the girls who quickly explained to you that jisung “had the hots'' for you (ryujin’s words, not yours). 

your mind was going at a million miles per hour, heart racing as jisung came closer and cleared his throat.

“h-hi.” he said, his voice never not taking you by surprise. jisung was towering over you, looking down at you nervously.

“h-hello.” you smiled and jisung could’ve sworn he melted just a little. 

“get together already!” lia and jaemin yelled out together, making the two of you blush and unconsciously lean closer.

“wanna hang out sometime soon?” jisung asked, his sudden confidence taking you and him off guard. you bit back a smile before holding your hand out. 

“give me your number.” you replied, jisung’s smile he let out making you fall even more for him.
