Brook only wears the absolute grooviest of clothing at all times.
Brook only wears the absolute grooviest of clothing at all times.
Brook only wears the absolute grooviest of clothing at all times.
That’s just gonna have to be there 👆 tumblr likes to glitch out my posts.
Dont give chopper caffeine. He’ll either have a heart attack or operate on 5x speed, its a gamble every time.
robin and franky love watching home improvement shows, house hunters, how its made, myth busters, and other technical shows together.
When Luffy shows robin memes on his phone, she takes out her reading glasses and holds the phone like a mom does. Ya know that squint. You know.
Jinbei used to be a trucker and had a convoy with s bunch of his truckin’ buddies. They had matching leather jackets with “the sun truckers” embroidered on the back
Franky has a wig closet. It is vast. If you went in there you'd think you were in Narnia or something
Chopper is BEYOND CONVINCED that Sabo is a vampire.
One day, sabo volunteered as an assistant in a medical class chopper was taking. He was acting as chopper’s patient as he was learning the patient procedures of a checkup.
It was all going fine, chopper got all the patient identification out of the way and next was to acquire blood pressure, breath count, and heart rate. But the stethoscope and pressure monitor wasn’t working, and it make it seem like Sabo,,, didnt have a pumping heart,, or blood,,, or really breathed at all(he doesnt take very visible breaths).
Chopper was stricken with fear at this and assumed the absolute worse as he looked in horror at Sabo’s naturally pale complexion and long canine teeth. Chopper simply jotted down the average count of each recording instead of getting new equipment, and tried not to think about it, but
“huh, all of those numbers are usually lower than that. Maybe all that Special Concoction™ i drink is finally catching up to my heart rate.”
“how much have you.. drunk?”
“like for today? Or since I woke up.”
Chopper is fucking horrified. Sabo woke up to being a vampire and drinks blood as a special concoction. He cannot believe this.
”Never mind, I don't need to know, its all normal, you're normal.”
“Wow… that's the first time a medical practitioner has called me normal. My brothers are gonna get a real kick outta this.”
CHOPPER IS FUCKING HORRIFIED. HE HAS BRETHEREN??? Chopper just keeps his head down and finishes up the check up practice as Sabo remarks he has another class in the blood bank, which was lemon in the paper cut for chopper.
For a month or so after that day, Chopper didn’t see Sabo at all, and he forgot about his fear for a little while. However one night as chopper was hanging with Luffy and a few others in the straw hat friend group, there was a knock at the door. Chopper happily said “I’ll get it~” as the rest of the group continued in conversation.
Chopper skips over to the door and when he opens it, he sees the figure of Sabo standing in front of him. Tall and opposing, smiling a big toothy grin with bright blue eyes shining from the overhead lighting. He’s wearing a long trench coat with the collar popped and an ascot was wrapped around his neck.
What chopper was seeing before him.
Was the vampire.
He let out a scream right out of a horror film and promptly fainted.
A minute or two later, he awoke laying on the couch, feet elevated and vest unbuttoned, to his friends looking at him from the foot of the couch.
He goes to stand up, but a strong gloved hand stops his movement and guides him back down
“Don't get up too quickly, little man.”
Chopper looked next to him and saw The Vampire. What was he doing in his house?!?!?
“Are you alright, bud? You opened the door for me, screamed in my face, and then passed out.”
“I’m fine, thank you,” Chopper said with the highest voice-crack to word ratio in his entire life.
“Right. Well again, dont get up too quickly, if you need water or anything let your friends know. I just came here to pick up Luffy cuz some family stuff came up. Have a good night!”
“…you too, and thanks for taking care of me…”
“No prob!”
“One last question?” Inquired chopper.
“What's up?”
“Did someone invite you in?”
the end
PS: Sabo's "special concoction" consists of Red Bull and Espresso. He hasn't slept in 72 hours. This will have lasting effects on his health.
thats all for now! thanks for reading~

Being Hughies Supe Sibling Would Include:
Requested: hi!! i hope you're doing well 💓 can i request maybe an fic/headcanon where the reader is supe and hughie's sibling who hasn't seen him in years because reader stayed with their mother? (and the reader meets hughie when their father dies). feel free to ignore, but i thought the idea was interesting. Thanks!!! 🫶🫶🫶 - anon
A/N: I love this idea!!!! For this sake, I'm picturing Hughie as late 20s, making reader mid/early 20s. Thank you for requesting!! I hope you like it my love!!! Feedback is always appreciated 💕
Hughie found both you and your mother at your father's bedside. You were asleep, your head on the edge of his bed, your mother watching over the two of you
He's shocked. He hadn't seen either of you since he was a little kid. You were even younger, a toddler
He remembers very little before your mother left and took you with her. There's a clear line of before and after in his memories. Before you were a regular family of four. After it was just Hugh and Hughie, eating pizza rolls and watching TV reruns
He wants there to be a spark of recognition when it comes to you, he really does, but when he looks at you he doesn't see the baby sibling he begged for. The baby he played with. The toddler he read to, taught you everything you knew, and spoiled rotten with toys and candy. He sees a stranger
Hughie pills your mother aside, unsure of what to do, wanting to say so many things. Where was she? Where were you all these years? Why did she take you and leave him?
He learns the answer not long after: because you're a Supe. You were injected with Compound V as an infant, but your powers didn't appear until you were a teenager. Knowing it was her decision to give you the V, that Hugh would never have said no to her, Daphne took you with her, realizing that whatever happened to you, however you ended up, would be entirely her fault
She was even more depressed after you were born and, wanting to save you from this depression, from a life like hers, she thought the V would help
Hughie and Daphne talk out in the hall, not wanting to wake you or your dad up
"They missed you."
"Do they even remember me?"
That definitely hurts Daphne. She raised you knowing and loving your big brother. She brought pictures of him and made sure you knew he loved you. Because of this, you'd idolized him
When your mother found out your father was sick, she took you back to the city
It's not like you never wanted to reach out, but you could imagine the hurt your mother leaving must have caused. You didn't want to rip open that wound again. And, you feared, Hughie would hate you because you were a Supe
You followed Annie online and knew all about their public relationship. Even before then, you'd stalked him online and made a fake account to keep up with him. You even knew about what happened to Robin
It's not like Hughie forgot about you. You were his baby sibling, the best thing to ever happen to him. He didn't know you were a Supe, though. And, angrily, he assumed your mother chose you over him because you were too young to remember the family she broke up. You would love her because you didn't know anything else
Once you do wake up, it gets awkward
You're not sure whether to hug him or shake his hand, so you end up doing some weird thing in the middle before deciding to sit down again
Unsure of how to break the ice, you bring up Annie. How cool you think she is, how you've been following her since she was initiated into The Seven. Not knowing any better, you tell him how cool it must have been to visit Vought Tower
Immediately, he's turned off. He wants to be kind, be cool, but he can't think about Homelander and Vought while his dad is dying
Your mom leaves for a few hours, letting you two "catch up"
It's definitely painful conversation. You don't want to talk about your childhood, knowing it's a sore subject, so you go on to tell him about the semester you have left at God U and the internship you have because of it
"You're, you're a Supe?"
"Dad. . . didn't say anything?"
You sit quietly again before you find an excuse to leave (bathroom break, getting a soda from the vending machine) before you come back
"What, what can you do?"
You don't love how you became a Supe, but you love being a Supe
You show him, keeping things quiet so as not to disturb anyone
When he has to leave he promises to come back the same time, hoping to see you again
It's hard at first, but before you know it your dad is awake and the four of you are reminiscing about the years you were all together
Your dad loves hearing about the life you've had. When your Supe abilities appeared, your time studying at God U, all the good memories you have with your mom
When Hugh passes, Hughie holds you, taking on that big brother role like no time has passed
You know he's busy (with what, you're still not sure) but he promises to keep in touch and see you as much as he can
When you and Hughie and Daphne go on the tour to spread his ashes, you meet Annie and all their friends
They're more than welcoming, sharing funny stories about your brother, trying to make you smile on such a hard day
Annie heard little about you from Hughie besides the basics, but she falls in love with you immediately
You're not sure whether to tell you're a Supe, so you keep it to yourself. That is, until that asshole yells at Annie and Hughie tells him to fuck off. You get so upset on their behalf you end up showing your powers
"Hughie didn't tell us about that. . ."
After the memorial, you make sure to reach out to him, wanting to keep in contact
He's pretty vague, but he urges you and Daphne to get out of the city
You stay though, sensing something is off. You tell your mom everything is fine and, for her safety, you promise you'll be with her in a few days, you just want to see more of your brother
You follow them to the end, when they try to split up and say goodbye, after Butcher gets the virus
Keeping a safe distance, you follow Hughie and Annie's car. You're stopped short by a woman with a shaved head and men in tactical gear
When Hughie is dragged into the van and Annie flies off, you're handcuffed and sedated, your hands bound with Vought technology so you can't use your powers
"Y/n?"

so I have noticed some people think Ben is boring (trust me I’ve seen it)
so I am here to talk about everything ben and try to explain his character!
This won’t be the best character analysis
as English is not my first language and I'm trying to bring more attention to stuff that's not talked about often.
So I'm going to split this into 6 categories to try to make writing this easier for me so bare with me.
Things I’ll go over!
personality
looks
hobbies
past & current
relationship with family
relationship with friends
This is going to have a bunch of stuff that are headcanons I'm only including them to show ppl if u can put some thought into it u can get some reasonable ones.
1 | personality
I see a lot of ppl reduce his character to only music and being mute? which really upsets me because he soo so much more,
but making his entire personality music makes me so mad
most headcanons I see are all the same PLEASE I AM TIRED of hearing what kind of songs he listens to that or all ship headcanons titled as Bens
he's a shy awkward guy we all know that cuz he really just stands in a corner awkwardly scratching his neck most times and he also doesn’t like horror or anything scary (eps 11)
hes a protective older brother not overly like Tyler where hes more protective of Tay from other people ben is more chill going and more afraid of what life throws at Lily, there’s not much here cuz more points I have fit in the other categories :)
2 | looks
he looks kinda of basic nobody can deny that so I won't, but because of his past I imagine he would have a bunch of scars ik he doesn’t and that’s a bummer cuz I really wish he had 🥲
After he lost his voice he became super facially expressive but also really good at hiding his emotions so it’s either really easy to read him or really hard no in between. also because of his past bullying, I assume it affected him and the way he presents himself that why he sticks to basic outfits and look,
overall trying not to bring attention to himself even after therapy he stuck to his habit but if someone gave him a little push and helped him he would drop it and start putting thought into his looks,
saw this somewhere I don’t remember where they said he would have curly hair as a kid but his mom didn’t know how to take care of it so they ended up shaving it and i think curly or wavy haired Ben would be so cute also he would look amazing with an eyebrow piercing %100 and uhh I genuinely don’t remember him smiling genuinely in canon so i imagine his with a downturned smile I may be wrong about that idk
3 | hobbies
did I make this a separate category just to talk about him being an artist? yes I absolutely did 🙂↕️
I fear most people forgot about it n honestly and that is criminal
there is not much said about it in canon but I’ll work with what I have,
he probably didn’t have much artistic skills when he was younger and only started doing it as a distraction and a way to calm down n he probably made himself draw
I feel like red projected onto him in that ifykyk😭
but from the picture Ben draws based on things that happen so he diff draws a bunch of random things he sees and thinks its cool, he would draw everything and everyone and I feel his art style would be more realistic tbh
but Ben also plays guitar, plays piano
, fight, used to sing, and the medic of the group like what else he do?? he is literally perfect what more can I say here but most of these are not really hobbies but skills he had to learn for the sake of his life
4 | Past & current
I’ll talk more here about how his past affects him currently,
I love to think he has a fear of fires because of the fire that burned down his house more of a headcanon tbh
see the pan he burned in that official art? it took him half an hour in his room to calm down his heartbeat and gathering around the campfire is the opposite of relaxing for him
probably hates turtlenecks with his being
and I want to talk about his voice as that affects him the most what really bothers me about the fandom is that a lot of people ignore the fact that he probably will never speak.
I see plenty of ppl benlor shippers say
“he would sing for —-🥺“ “he would whisper to comfort—🥺“ n it makes me wonder are we even talking about the same character???? which is absolute bullshit if he did that he is the one that’s gonna need comfort like please. he would probably never speak unless he sees someone's head gets ripped off there body.
It's said flat out in episode 27
That he has the option to speak but he doesn’t why? Because he hates his voice and if he hates his voice sm he chose to not speak for yearsss what makes u think he would speak for the sake of someone else's comfort when doing that only pains him? he is selectively mute for a reason I'm not saying he doesn’t have a voice but at least if u headcanon him to speak in the future at least let it be for his own sake instead of doing it for someone else or make it about ur ship.
5 | Relationship with family
Starting with his parents I don’t think they are bad parents at all they tried to help him as much as they could but they couldn’t so they opened up other options and let him move away and heal even if he’s not with them I think what the did is a good choice for their situation and their relationship would still be great tbh considering the distance
now onto Lily
I honestly can talk about them for days. I love them
Their relationship is so sweet the way Lily is stuck to him every chance she gets and ah also used to sing to her can you imagine how she felt seeing her brother coming home later and later covered in bruises not singing to her to sleep anymore watching him sneak out
she basically watched her brother spiral down and then leave she was probably too young to really understand what was going on fully so now she just wants to spend all the time she can with him and he tries to make up for lost time :(
now Aiden
most people probably forgot Aiden is the closest person to Ben and the same goes the other way around.
Aiden is a life long friend of Ben’s
he literally trusts him, follows him everywhere and lets him decide for him
they spent most of their time together since Ben moved in they live together there stuck together.
Aiden probably helped him a lot mentally helping him try new things and be more carefree
Ben also probably helped him mentally and physically patching him up and looking out for him overall,
I see some Aiden fics that are like “Oh no Ben’s gonna be so upset at me 😖” and they make him act like a nurse, not a friend and he just bandages him up then leaves as if nothing happened and someone else comes and in does all the comforting
like I can count all the fics where Ben acts like a decent person and I'd still have more fingers up than down,
it’s so upsetting how ignored their relationship is in this fandom they deserve so much more honestly.
6 | Relationship with friends
he is definitely the therapist friend
He is that kind of friend that you can tell everything to him going from weird food to the worst time of your life and won't even realize it
his friendship with Ash is very chill not the closest I'd say,
they're really just trying to keep their peace lmao
his friendship with Taylor
I imagine them as gossip girls tbh Ben being a quiet kid while Taylor is popular they definitely know some good gossip
his friendship with Tyler is something he used to find him irritating but then he realized they have a lot in common especially when Tyler was teaching him guitar which was precise since he was the one who offered
and his friendship with Logan
it's really sweet Logan would try to teach him gardening while they talk about their interests
and be absolute nerds together lmao
overall the friendship between all of them is really sweet ik I didn’t give it justice here but the found family trope and the way they find comfort in each other is just everything to me
And I'm done yappin hope u enjoyed that because that was over 1,5k words
if u have any questions feel free to ask 🫡

YOUNGEST SULLY ii
summary the youngest daughter of the sully family is just two years younger than tuk. just how the sully family treats her!
pairing sully! reader x platonic! sully family
note this is not proof-read!
a/n it's been months since i paid attention to my stories lmao. i'm so sorry for the late post! i hope this is good enough for all of you
part one | part two
jake shared a special moment with each of his children, and he wants to make one with you
out of the siblings in their younger years, you are the most adventurous, even more than lo'ak
you had the knack of throwing everything everywhere and jake wanted to turn that into a hobby
what's better than archery?
jake brought you to a small pond that he brought neteyam when he was just younger. now that he's fifteen, he's more focused on his warrior duties. although they are small, neteyam always exceeded in his tasks. he secretly hoped that you shared the same passion as your big brother.
"daddy, look! this fish has blue and green on it's skin!" you exclaimed, your face nearing the water.
"that's beautiful," he smiled. jake made sure to note what the fish looked like to avoid hitting it with the arrow. just as he was about move closer, all the arrows he had on his arms fell on the ground. groaning, he picked them up. "so, sweetie. here's the plan for today…"
jake began explaining without even taking a glance at you
you were fascinated with the fish, until you weren't
the sounds of leaves ruslting in the forest made your ear twitch, looking at your father to see if he recognised it, but he didn't
you pondered over your decision if you should follow it and alert your dad, but you knew he would say no
you learned a lot from your big brother, lo'ak. he says, "dad will always say no, so learn how to do things secretly."
jake continued to explain the basics of archery. of course, he told you how archery was your mother's and neteyam's forte and how it could become yours too— he wishes you do. "you ready, babygirl?" he asked with a grin presented on his face, however, it quickly vanished when you weren't there.
"y/n?" jake yelled, running through the forest.
he trailed back to the path the two of you used, but you weren't there. the area close to the lake was clear too. distraught, he gripped his dread locks. where could you have possibly gone? or perhaps someone took you at his vulnerable moment? what if something happened to you? oh, jake wouldn't be able to forgive himself.
jake then ultimately decided to get back home to inform neytiri about what's happened, and then call his warriors to go do a search for you. just as he was about to turn back, the sound of your giggles caused his ears to perk up. he quickly rushed to the direction he heard your voice.
"y/n!" he called again.
"daddy!"
jake assumed, from your heartily laughs, that you found something intriguing again
like a flower with colours that you have never seen, or a baby pa'li that lost his mother and you brought it home with you to make it a family pet (jake had to make a dramatic story about how it left because you didn't want to let it go)
but to his horror, you were playing with a palulukan
he stood frozen in his place as the palulukan guarded you from him, hissing
"y/n, come here."
you furrowed your eyebrows. "but, why? it's luka!"
it was jake's turn to look at you with confusion. "a what?"
"luka!" you groaned and rolled your eyes like it was supposed to be the easiest thing known to pandora. "he found me days ago when i went to the forest alone."
"you went to the forest alone?"
you nodded proudly. "uh-huh! when no one was watching!"
it took a while for luka, the palulukan, to let his guard down around jake
apparently, you created the bond with luka a few days ago
you didn't think it would be a big deal. you've seen your mom and dad bond with creatures, why can't you?
jake started to regret describing palulukan as creatures who only acts to defend themselves in a heroic way to you because who knew you would bond with one?
he's just glad that you were safe
when jake finally convinced you it was time to go, you hugged luka by the head and he only nodded his head
the plan he had now were long forgotten, the first thing he wanted to do was tell neytiri how their youngest daughter, who was only 5 years old, tamed a palulukan
their little palulukan makto <3
neytiri never imagined having a big family
she thought that she would stop with two children, but as her children grew, she realised that she wanted more until she didn't
five was already enough for her
each of her children had distinguished personalities that separate themselves
neteyam is responsible and composed. truly what the eldest should be
kiri is connected to everything around her, yet she could be mischevious at times
lo'ak is famous for his rebellious attitude
tuk is charming and funny, well expected for her age
but you, however, are different. you were a well mix of your older siblings. you could be responsible sometimes, scolding tuk and even lo'ak for the things they did. you tamed a palulukan at a young age! and you love walking around the forest, something kiri loves to do everyday. most of the time, you would engage lo'ak in his activities and get scolded by your father together. and tuk, she's your partner in crime.
neytiri thanks the great mother every night for the family she received
"mama," your small and soft voice calls for her.
neytiri hummed, her eyes staying on the top she's weaving for you. recently, you complained about your top being old and repetitive, so she decided to make you a new one.
neteyam and lo'ak were out with jake for warrior duties, kiri was with mo'at for her tsakarem duties, and tuk was with her bestfriend. you didn't feel like playing with anyone, and stayed at home with your mother.
"i want to be like you when i grow up."
"is that so, little one?" neytiri smiled.
"yeah! i want to be a mother."
neytiri's eyes widened, instantly her gaze left the work from her hands and to you. you were smiling up at her innocently. she thought that when you said you wanted to be like her, she assumed that it would be a great hunter.
"a mother?" she repeated, still flabbergasted. "why is that?"
"because it's beautiful, don't you think? you and papa raised us, we turned out great. neteyam's recognised as a promising future olo'eyktan, kiri is connected to Eywa than grandma, lo'ak's outgoing nature makes him easy to talk to, and tuk makes anyone feel special. i want to raise a family as great as ours, mama! but maybe it's because you did a good job though…" you trailed off. "doesn't matter! i'll do a good job too!"
neytiri only watched you with tears welling in her eyes
of course, she knew she did a good job. she sees it everyday and was told by jake with any opportunity he gets
but to hear it from one of your children, moreso youngest?
you paused when a tear fell from your mother's eyes, trickling down her cheek
"mama, is everything okay-"
neytiri placed her hand on the side of your head, smiling fondly, her thumb brushing your temple. "you have grown too fast," she whispered. she leaned closer and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
you smiled brightly at the action. "did i grow taller?"
neytiri laughed, "oh, yes. really tall."
"do you think i would grow as tall as neteyam?"
and one by one, her children came back to their home
neteyam and lo'ak were first. tired from their duties, lo'ak didn't waste his time to sleep on his mat while neteyam joined them
kiri and tuk were next. tuk joined the circle and began telling her adventures with her bestfriend today
because of the noise, lo'ak woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. neteyam beckoned him to join them, because he didn't have a choice. he begrudgingly joined the circle
soon, the kids were lively and conversing with one another
neytiri observed them, her smile never leaving her face
she sighed happily, "thank you, great mother."

(resending because it looks like some of my asks got deleted)
[Im uber excited to read more your fic btw!]
I'm glad that you're excited for the fic! I'm going to split up the story arcs into their own fics and turn it into a series! book 1 will feature Wukong's journey and following isolation up to a hero is born.
[...Peach chips at least dont seem to trigger the worst of his food adversion though, the crunchy chip texture seems to cancel it out.]
at least he can still get the flavor through the chips
[...So the idea that MK potientially remembers Wukong from this time is a huge shock to him.] + [MK, clueless: "Umm... their hair was a warm orange-y color. Like the sun. And I think their eyes was this really shiny yellow, or maybe amber colour? Oh! And they had this round stomach - I remember hugging it..." *gets kinda wistful* "I don't know why I'm not with them anymore, but hope they're doing ok if they're still out there."]
upon learning that MK kinda remembers him Wukong def feels guilty about not being able to raise himself, especially with the fact that MK doesn't hold anything against his "birth mother" for giving him up.
but then MK being a monkey comes out of the bag in s4 and MK and Wukong actually get to talk about it. it's a very emotional conversation, with Wukong having come to terms while in the scroll about all of his reasons for not being able to raise MK, and MK just being the sweetest most understanding boy ever, even if he wishes he could have known sooner. they come out of that conversation stronger.
what if after MK learned he was a monkey when he and Macaque go into the scroll to get Wukong they stumble upon a memory of a tiny baby monkey that looks like his monkey form cuddling into Wukong's stomach like MK remembers doing with his "birth mom" and that's how he realizes that Wukong was the person he thought was his mom. when he faced the scroll's curse he got flashes of his life before the noodle shop, but nothing that revealed anything about his birth mom except the small flash of Nuwa, so the sudden, proper reveal still takes him by surprise. he also stumbles upon the memory of Wukong crying as he makes the decision to and give away MK.
[Wukong def was hit hard by Ao Lie's passing. It pains him to give the godparent title to anyone else...]
In a way, giving the title to anyone else probably feels like the final straw of admitting that Ao Lie really is truly gone. but admitting that finally means learning to let go, allowing Wukong to grow and heal from his grief which in turn will lead to him isolating himself less. character development ya'know, and in the end he probably feels like moving on is one of the best things to honor his late brother's memory, Ao Lie would want him to move on and find joy in what he has now.
[...PIF just looks over at Red Son, alive and healthy, and just hugs Wukong the next time she sees him.]
Wukong is def very confused when he and DBK go to tell PIF that they have a plan to stop the bone demon but it involves giving the fire back to Red Son, and before he can even say hi she has him in a bear hug. he isn't used to this, he is very confused.
[And when Yuebei is born having "imprinted" on Wukong's yearning/love for Macaque...] + [Both monkey parents are sobbing, especially when they learn that Yuebei was unconciously trying her best to look like Macaque's baby with the limited genetics available. Wukong has multiple centuries of love to dish out, and Macaque is catching up fast.]
Macaque, as happy as he is that she looks enough like him that he can pass as the baby-daddy, def feels a bit guilty upon learning that the only reason that is is because of how how much Wukong missed him after he left. he loves being a parent to Yuebei, but as much as he loves people assuming that she is his their likeness also serves as a reminder that he wasn't there.
he has a lot of time to make up for, and he plans on getting right on that.
[PIF: *seeing the baby's dark fur and glowing ears* PIF (whispering so not to wake the baby): "I fcking knew it." Macaque: *is too tired/proud to argue with her* "Yeaaah..." :')]
Macaque is honestly just happy he's allowed to be involved in baby's life.
[Red has no idea what to do in response to all this baby talk, so he just; tries to apologise to SWK for setting him on fire a bunch as a toddler??] + [Mei, PIF and Jiuweihuli get talking and soon Wukong is looking at a baby shower akin to a red carpet event.]
hey, it was a delicious cake. though Wukong is pretty sure cakes aren't supposed to be spicy.
the attention Mei and the older ladies are giving him over the pregnancy is honestly a little overwhelming at times due to how unexpected it is. especially from PIF and Macaque's adopted mom figure, he'd thought the two of them would be far more mad about mac dying then anything else. he does apologizes to Jiuweihuli about bonking her over the head that one time when he was hormonal and stressed when they get a proper chance to talk.
[You'd honestly be more afraid of that baby.]
absolutely.
if the infamous "god killer" is set to show up and then you learn that the god killer is the child of the Sun Wukong, menace to the heavens, and earned her title before she was even out if the womb, that is terrifying. imagine what she'll be like when she gets older and starts combat training.
[like turning the Medusa's head into a shield.] +[Her staff being a gift from her parents that has no inate magic ability beyond the fact that she puts her trust in it as her first "real" weapon.] + [I can imagine she uses a glamour/quick magic to put the skull/mask on (like Dr Facillier in "Friends on the Other Side") as a way of saying "You're f*cked" to her opponents.]
the medusa comparison is awesome and on point!
I love idea she puts so much trust she puts into the staff because it was her first proper weapon. I feel she also puts a lot of trust into it because it's from her parents.
I love the Dr. Facillier comparison, I was thinking of her swishing her mask on like a miraculous lady bug transformation.
[I'm excited to see how your drawings go!]
I'll be sure to share soon!
[Wukong and Macaque are def panicking, though its more an excited kind of panicking. Nezha and MK are def screaming. Guanyin is the only one with a cool head the entire time.] + [Pigsy is good at pretending he isn't worried, but he ends up tearing apart the campsight's kitchen in a hurry to make enough food for everyone.]
everyone is panicking, just to different lengths. Wukong for his own sake is trying to keep his excitement to a manageable level, Macaque is notably not, portaling warm blankets and pillows and water and towels to the campsite or wherever the end up settling for Wukong's labor to play out (i like to think Guanyin takes everyone to the south sea). Mei and MK are shaking each other and screaming while Red Son tries to calm them down, Ne Zha is running around doing everything Guanyin asks of him to keep himself distanced from hyperventilating. Tang is torn between trying not to be sick and writing about what's going on, Pigsy is already tearing apart the kitchen, and Sandy is politely calling the Demon Bull parents to let them know where they are, that they're all safe, and that the baby is on the way! while keeping LBD's host preoccupied.
[Especially when DBK and PIF realise what's happening, and are posted incase Wukong's baby causes as much trouble for him as Red did to them.]
the bull family are on their way the second they hear about what's going on. they aren't missing the birth for anything, and they wanna be there for their family. also they need to check in on Red Son
[Guanyin has a secret stash in the Southern Ocean of all the letters and tapes (and even some drawings of what she might have looked like) Wukong ever made for Yuebei, in case he wasn't able to give them to her in person. Yuebei ends up finding them when she's a moody teenager, mad at her baba for something stupid.]
Guanyin is there to go through all them with her, Yuebei is amazed at much her baba loved her well before she was ever born, even if it becomes a little bittersweet after she learns that he could have died for her to be born and was willing to go through with the pregnancy anyway, for the sake of the baby he loved so much he may have never been able to meet. when she goes home she gives her baba a big hug. Yuebei: *walks into to the house* BABA Wukong: *not expecting her back so soon* oh! Yuebei, are you okay, I'm sorry about the fight earlier I was- Yuebei: *tackles him into a hug, muffled talking with her face buried in her Baba's chest* m'sorry, I love you. Wukong: *a little surprised but happy* love you too little one ps: what do you think Wukong would use as an affectionate nickname for Yuebei in this au? also, at what point do you think her name was decided on.
[Pre-series; In absense of any other godparent... I bet Wukong would have trusted Yuebei with Guanyin if possible. The goddess would have gladly taken the infant had Wukong not survived the birth, though it would pain her for many centuries to come.]
they absolutely would, even if looking at Yuebei would always be bittersweet long after it stopped actually hurting whenever she saw Wukong in her. I feel like in the event she was left in Guanyn's care, Guanyin wouldn't hide her parentage, and the first time Yuebei asks about details at like 10yo or something and they spend the next few hours going through the things Wukong left for her (except for anything specifically for certain dates/milestones).
[Once the relationship between Wukong and Mac improves, so does the baby's reaction to Mac's voice (symbolism). She finally starts to associate the "bad" voice with her bama, and soon it's not a "bad voice" anymore. Though there probably is a weird bridge-point where Mac has to put on silly accents/voices when he baby-talks to Yuebei or else she'll get mad at him.]
Macaque def cries at every big relationship milestone between him and Yuebei (and him and Wukong, seeing how much Wukong has changed for the better makes him very hopeful they could have the life they promised each other, but seeing how much Wukong has also been hurting he is very grateful he has the oppurtunity to make things better. ultimately, he is very grateful he made the decision to stay and not squander the chance). but there's def a period of time in there where anytime Macaque and Wukong get in a fight (because healing and reconciliation isn't linear) it sets his relationship with Yuebei back a couple squares.
I always thought that Macaque having six sensitive ears and being a theater performer would make him a killer at vocals, and he can change his voice pretty much at will to something completely random, someone else's voice if he hears them, or mimic the sounds of animals and/or other non-living objects that produce sounds. so he would absolutely nail and accents and voices he needs to do to keep Yuebei appeased. he probably at some point mimics Wukong's voice in order to calm her down, because out of all her "good sounds" her baba's is the most "safe".
[Yellowtusk immediately notices and warns Azure to let the cub down so she can at least crawl and inspect her new surroundings. Peng laughs at the thought of letting "the hatchling" decide the terms of her imprisonment.] + [Then Peng feels a tiny, but powerful, hand grab their wing feathers...] + [Yellowtusk leaves before the carnage reaches him.]
the brotherhood assumes Yuebei is also Macaque's kid like everyone else, and because of this Peng def is not above teasing the already fussy infant monkey. Yellowtusk is looking at his brothers either ignore or "torment" the infant of at least one if not two of their other sworn brothers. he realizes in that moment that the other two aren't who he thought they were, or at the very least they aren't anymore, but most importantly they aren't the type of people he wants to be involved with. the change of heart leads him to not feeling to bad when leaving his brothers to their fate when Yuebei has enough for the sake of his own safety.
(dont worry you asks didnt get deleted, Im just very lazy/bust with college)
referencing this previous Slow boiled au post.
[I'm glad that you're excited for the fic! I'm going to split up the story arcs into their own fics and turn it into a series! book 1 will feature Wukong's journey and following isolation up to a hero is born.]
I wait with bated subscribe button.
[upon learning that MK kinda remembers him Wukong def feels guilty about not being able to raise himself, especially with the fact that MK doesn't hold anything against his "birth mother" for giving him up. but then MK being a monkey comes out of the bag in s4 and MK and Wukong actually get to talk about it. it's a very emotional conversation, with Wukong having come to terms while in the scroll about all of his reasons for not being able to raise MK, and MK just being the sweetest most understanding boy ever, even if he wishes he could have known sooner. they come out of that conversation stronger. what if after MK learned he was a monkey when he and Macaque go into the scroll to get Wukong they stumble upon a memory of a tiny baby monkey that looks like his monkey form cuddling into Wukong's stomach like MK remembers doing with his "birth mom" and that's how he realizes that Wukong was the person he thought was his mom. when he faced the scroll's curse he got flashes of his life before the noodle shop, but nothing that revealed anything about his birth mom except the small flash of Nuwa, so the sudden, proper reveal still takes him by surprise. he also stumbles upon the memory of Wukong crying as he makes the decision to and give away MK.]
THIS WHOLE IDEA!!!
Wukong doesn't want to tell MK the truth cus he think's he'll hate him for having to give him up.
When MK and Mac see the memory of a baby monkey demon hugging (a much more sad-looking) Wukong's stomach, the memories all come flooding back to MK about who he thought was his "birth mother" . Even though he knows the Monkey King isn't really his birth parent (glaring at Nuwa), he knew that the choice to raise MK fell on his heavy shoulders. Even if MK is a *little* upset when he finds out via S4 Memory Scroll-ing with Macaque that he's a monkey demon, MK understands that the Monkey King was simply unable to care for him while he lacked a support system. Wukong wanted MK to have a "normal" childhood that he was denied, and that simply wasn't possible on FFM at the time.
Ultimately MK is glad that Wukong had the good judgement to leave MK with Pigsy all those years ago, no matter how much it hurt.
They find the memory of Wukong standing outside in the city streets, affixing a strong glamour spell to the baby's head, and sobbing as he forces himself to stop holding them long enough to disappear and make a noise that alerts the pig chef inside the shop. It's very Meet the Robinson's esque.
The first thing MK does when he reunites with Wukong, is hug him tight and say "I never blamed you." Wukong is confused until the realisation that MK was in his memories kicks in, and he starts sobbing too.
[In a way, giving the title to anyone else probably feels like the final straw of admitting that Ao Lie really is truly gone. but admitting that finally means learning to let go, allowing Wukong to grow and heal from his grief which in turn will lead to him isolating himself less. character development ya'know,]
Yeah, even if the decision to give DBK the title of "Godfather" was pretty rash in the moment, Wukong eventually hits a point where him and DBK end up having a talk about the monkey's "late younger brother" when Wukong hesistate to make it official.
DBK is understanding of why Wukong finds it hard to move on from Ao Lie's passing. He wouldn't know what he would have done if he'd lost his Xiandi all those centuries ago. DBK is patient enough to let his little bro come to terms with this emotional hurdle. He just wished he had more time to know this odd, horse-like dragon that Wukong adored as a brother.
The convo probably happens at the same time they decide to give Red Son back the Samadhi Fire + PIF giving Wukong's an unexpected hug.
[Macaque, as happy as he is that she looks enough like him that he can pass as the baby-daddy, def feels a bit guilty upon learning that the only reason that is is because of how how much Wukong missed him after he left. he loves being a parent to Yuebei, but as much as he loves people assuming that she is his their likeness also serves as a reminder that he wasn't there. he has a lot of time to make up for, and he plans on getting right on that.]
OH you better believe post S3 Macaque is running up that Dad hill full sprint to be there for Yuebei. Even if him and Wukong take a while to confront their issues, and have a fight or two, Mac ultimately wants to BE THERE for the King who missed him so much, and the cub that changed it's appearance to reflect that.
S4 is Macaque busting on through, resolving any petty fights him and Wukong had in the past, saving his mate and cub, and developing a fatherly attitude towards MK. This is THEIR happy ending, and Mac's not gonna let Azure take that away from them.
Fun fact; since Stone Eggs are able to "steal" the Dao of others, it ws common in Stone Monkey days for widowed monkeys to start the egg-making process while buried next to their mate in hopes that both of their traits lived on in the baby. It's influenced a lot by yearning/want of the parent for their mate (the supernatural "other parent").
[the attention Mei and the older ladies are giving him over the pregnancy is honestly a little overwhelming at times due to how unexpected it is. especially from PIF and Macaque's adopted mom figure, he'd thought the two of them would be far more mad about mac dying then anything else.]
Wukong is def confused but amused by how much PIF and Jiuweihuli are adoring of him, but are shooting Mac the stinkeye. PIF has already declared herself the baby's Godmother in partnership with her husband's title, and Jiuweihuli is treating the situation as if she's expecting a grandchild. Even when Wukong explains that Mac only "started the process", that doesn't deter the demonesses.
Wukong is ofc overwhelmed by the positive attention, and scurries away for a break once the womens' backs are turned. Red Son offering him a confused, but tasty spiced cake is like a breath of fresh air.
[if the infamous "god killer" is set to show up and then you learn that the god killer is the child of the Sun Wukong, menace to the heavens, and earned her title before she was even out if the womb is terrifying. imagine what she'll be like when she gets older and starts combat training.]
Yuebei, aka "The God Killer" toddles into a fancy heavenly party and all the Celestials scatter like they saw a tiger enter the room. The infant monkey just jumps on the banquet table and starts chowing down on the hors d'oeuvres like her baba before her.
[I love idea she puts so much trust she puts into the staff because it was her first proper weapon. I feel she also puts a lot of trust into it because it's from her parents. I love the Dr. Facillier comparison, I was thinking of her swishing her mask on like a miraculous lady bug transformation.]
Yuebei and her big bro MK share the trait of "I believe, so it is", and that includes her super-cool FIRST STAFF that was probably made from a completely normal stalk of bamboo by Wukong and Mac as a birthday gift.
Ooo I like that Ladybug idea for her skull-mask. Magical girl transformation except she's dressed to reap souls. >:3
Oh gosh now Im thinking of little Yuebei being obsessed with Sailor Moon. XD
[everyone is panicking, just to different lengths.] + [while keeping LBD's host preoccupied.]
The campsite is just a warzone of panicking found family members as they scramble to get things ready for the baby's arrival. I love the idea of Sandy having enough sense to call DBK and PIF on the phone to give them a heads-up.
And poor Bai He. Just got over being possessed for x-amount of months by an ancient world-ending demon, and now she's just swept up in the chaos that a baby is coming!? She probably "heard" things while being piloted by LDB, so she knows "someone" is having a baby, she just doesn't understand the context. Especially considering that the monkey demon couple (one's the Monkey King?!) have been tending to her like parents the whole trip home. and- "Is that lady Guanyin?"
Bai He def has a "she's so cute!"-moment when she sees Yuebei for the first time. She's cuter than a kitten! :3
[the bull family are on their way the second they hear about what's going on. they will do what they have to for their family.]
The second that the Bull Couple learn that Wukong is ok after LBD's defeat, they're flying over to see if their Xiandi is ok. DBK has to be reprimanded for almost getting into a fight with Nezha over their protective instincts towards Wukong in this state.
[Guanyin is there to go through all them with her, Yuebei is amazed at much her baba loved her well before she was ever born, even if it becomes a little bittersweet after she learns that he could have died for her to be born and was willing to go through with the pregnancy anyway, for the sake of the baby he loved so much he may have never been able to meet. when she goes home she gives her baba a big hug. Wukong: *a little surprised but happy* love you too little one]
OOOOUHHH!! Yuebei having the realisation in her teens about how much Wukong sacrificed/could have lost to ensure she was born safetly!! Yuebei def stares at the tapes Guanyn provides in silence, tears rolling down her face as she sees and hears her Baba in different eras, telling his baby that they may never meet but that he loves them no matter what!!
Yuebei would feel so guilty for running off after a petty fight with her Baba! Especially if one of the things she yelled at Wukong was along the lines of; "You never do anything for me!"
Wukong is just relieved that his daughter came home safe and sound. Guanyin def did the divine version of a text message telling Wukong that Yuebei came to her island, but Wukong was still worried.
[ps: what do you think Wukong would use as an affectionate nickname for Yuebei in this au? also, at what point do you think her name was decided on.]
Wukong's nickname for Yuebei is "Egg" much like MK in the TMKATI au. Hard to get rid of the moniker when Wukojng had been using it for almost a thousand years. One of the rarer nicknames he had for her was "little moonlight" whenever he was particularly wistful.
Macaque calls the baby cuter things like "starlight" or "sunspot" cus she's "a little Sun" (pun).
The name "Yuebei" aka "Lunar Apogee" was only decided in the later months leading up to her birth. Wukong had wanted to wait until the Egg was born to decide. And ofc with his "moonlight" finally back at his side, Wukong's brain went towards moon-themed names...
[they absolutely would, even if looking at Yuebei would always be bittersweet long after it stopped actually hurting whenever she saw Wukong in her.]
Guanyin would 100% refer to herself as being Yuebei's "grandmother" in the scenario that Wukong had not survived/woken up. Little Yuebei would have grown up on Fragrant Mountain in the Southern Oceans as beloved as any creature under Guanyin's protection. Safe from teh eyes of Heaven. Wukong knows he would have made a good choice.
[Macaque def cries at every big relationship milestone between him and Yuebei (and him and Wukong, seeing how much Wukong has changed for the better makes him very hopeful they could have the life they promised each other, but seeing how much Wukong has also been hurting he is very grateful he has the oppurtunity to make things better. ultimately, he is very grateful he made the decision to stay and not squander the chance). but there's def a period of time in there where anytime Macaque and Wukong get in a fight (because healing and reconciliation isn't linear) it sets his relationship with Yuebei back a couple squares.]
Macaque and Wukong I think would have had a fight just prior to S4, likely over how MK is being trained as Wukong's successor - Wukong want's to be careful and soft on the kid, while Macaque was more the mindset of preparing MK for the worst-case scenarios. It caused the two to be on not-speaking terms, even though they were still both technically co-parenting the baby. Wukong had walked out on the most recent fight, and taken Yuebei to the old stone palace to decompress when MK found the memory scroll.
The subsetquent hours is Macaque fellign like sh*t for making Wukong hate him again + Yuebei crying when Mac raised his voice. He's convinced that he F-d Up Big, and that Wukong would never trust him again- oh hey a text from Mei.
Mei, texting: "Scroll thingy ate Monkey King!! *shocked emoji*" Mac, on an ancient nokia: "WHAT!? Where's the baby!?" Mei: "Being babysat rn. Don't worry, we're on the case!" *thumbs up* + "100 emoji" Mac: "oh thank buddha."
Macaque still goes to Water Curtain Cave to see whats up... only to find no Monkey Kids, and the smell of a familar lion...
[I always thought that Macaque having six sensitive ears and being a theater performer would make him a killer at vocals, and he can change his voice pretty much at will to something completely random, someone else's voice if he hears them, or mimic the sounds of animals and/or other non-living objects that produce sounds. so he would absolutely nail and accents and voices he needs to do to keep Yuebei appeased. he probably at some point mimics Wukong's voice in order to calm her down, because out of all her "good sounds" her baba's is the most "safe".]
Macaque canonically can nail voices and animal sounds! He pretended to be Mo meowing when he split the vans up.
I can just imagine him setting a fussy Yuebei down for sleep and trying to read her a story like;
Macaque, normal voice: "Bustopher Jone-"
Yuebei: *gives him a stank face* >:(
Macaque: "Oh ok, little miss high-standards."
Macaque: *clears throat*
Macaque, now in a goofy falsetto ala Ed Wynn: "Bustopher Jones is not skin and bones— In fact, he's remarkably fat. He doesn't haunt pubs—he has eight or nine clubs, For he's the St. James's Street Cat!"
Yuebei: *delighted giggling!* :D
Wukong: *secretly watching from the doorway, falling in love with his Warrior all over again*
[the brotherhood assumes Yuebei is also Macaque's kid like everyone else, and because of this Peng def is not above teasing the already fussy infant monkey. Yellowtusk is looking at his brothers either ignore or "torment" the infant of at least one if not two of their other sworn brothers. he realizes in that moment that the other two aren't who he thought they were, or at the very least they aren't anymore, but most importantly they aren't the type of people he wants to be involved with. the change of heart leads him to not feeling to bad when leaving his brothers to their fate when Yuebei has enough for the sake of his own safety.]
Yellowtusk is the only one of the Brotherhood trio who recognises that people have changed in the last few hundred years.
The Pilgrims are dead and gone, and their decendants are far different from their originals. Brother Bull is a family man who would do anything for his wife and son.
Brother Wukong is, from what Yellowtusk overheard, has become far wiser and more cautious. And not to say the acts of heroism he's heard attributed to Brother Macaque! (Defying and saving the world from the icy bone demon that resurrected him is no mere feat - it was the talk of the celestial and demon worlds for weeks). Not to mention the tiny dark-furred infant monkey that Azure holds, squirming in his grip...
And he also recognises that his own two companions have changed... but not for the better.
The selfless leadership once held by Azure Lion has become warped into a form of tyrany, one where their new Emperor holds their sworn brothers' infant hostage and openly fantasizes about taking Brother Wukong as his consort.
The curt bluntness he had appriciated in Peng's words have become needlessly harsh and tormenting. Even towards something as small and blameless as the infant they hold hostage.
Yellowtusk recognises that perhaps even he has changed. Being made to relive your mistakes throught the Scroll can do that. He realises that he should have said more to defend his shyer brothers, and wishes that he had the foresight to know that the Jade Emperor would have succeeded in their haphazard coup.
Yellowtusk is Wise because he recognises that the best option is to jump this sinking ship now while there's still time.
He goes to take the hostage infant away from Azure's grasp when the little girl suddenly grabs hard on one of Peng's flight feathers, the gold plating crumbling away in her grip...
Yellowtusk backs out of the throne room as the child of Sun Wukong destroys the two grown warriors like they were toys to be broken. He's thankfull that his calmer treatment of the infant only leaves him with a sore trunk from the little monkey tugging on it to guesture that she was hungry.
Sorry it took so long to answer! I've been very lazy over xmas :3

The Generals Love
A/N: Hi! This is my very first fanfic, so please be nice to me. I take constructive criticism because I want to become a better writer. I made an OC named Octavia, she’s Azriel’s younger twin sister and Cassian’s mate/wife. She has healing abilities that she discovered when she was older, but she’s a professional seamstress like Rhysands mom. She loves her Hubby and her family and doesn’t talk very much but she has a few lines in this story because she kinda needs to talk. I hope you enjoy it! Also sorry if some words that have a ‘y’ in it, my key has been a bit wonky since I got to college.
Word Count: 1,936 words
—---------------------------------
Octavia had always been a quiet female, like her twin brother: Azriel. They both lived in that dungeon together and both suffered greatly. Azriel did take most of the punishment though, he could bear to see her hurt the way he was. On the days their mother would be allowed to visit them she would give them both so much love, even if it was just for an hour. Their mother was always so warm and kind. There were times where the three of them would talk for the whole hour and other times they would just sit in silence, enjoying each other's presence. They were the only good memories she had of her childhood before meeting Cassian and Rhys.
She could remember the day she met them, her father had dumped the two of them at a training camp. Azriel was accepted immediately due to him being a shadowsinger, but Octavia was seen as a bit of an anomaly. Her wings were really big, especially for someone of her small stature, and it made everyone at the camp look at her strangely. Her and Azriel didn’t have a home so they traveled around the camp hoping to find somewhere warm to sleep when they came across an Illyrian woman with wings walking with two boys about their age and a young girl.
Octavia was admiring the woman, not only was she beautiful, but she still had her wings. She had never seen an Illyrian female with her wings still attached, Octavia was still lucky enough to have hers since she hadn’t bled yet. She assumes that she had been staring too hard because one of the boys looked over at her and matched her stare. He was a bit bigger than the other one and his hair was slightly longer too. He got the females attention and pointed towards them. They must have looked desperate because she walked over to them calmly and asked if they wanted to come get some food. Azriel was a bit hesitant; he had never spoken to another female besides his sister or mother and Octavia had never been one for words, but she took the lead by grabbing Az’s hand and nodding.
From that day on they found their family. The woman they met was the Lady of the Night Court and her children, Rhysand and Astoria, along with another bastard named Cassian. The twins loved their new family, they were fed, dressed, and cared for beyond anything they could comprehend. Octavia wasn’t able to train with the boys, but she was able to learn a lot from the Lady of the Night Court. She taught her how to read, write, and even how to sew. It became her favorite thing, aside from flying. She had sewn the boys' leathers when they ripped them in training, and helped to bandage their wounds too. It’s how she got to know Cassian the most, he was always fighting hard and that resulted in some injuries. They had gotten so close that by the time the mating bond snapped for them after the first war with Hybern and Rhys’ ascent to the Night Court throne. They had not seen each other the whole time, Octavia had a healing ability and was vital to the war in healing soldiers and Cassian had been stationed at a different place than her. When it was all over and they reunited the bond snapped and they have been together since then.
—---------------------------------
Octavia had not seen Cassian in a bit. He was sent to Windhaven 3 weeks ago to review the troops and check on the camps. Octavia didn’t usually go with him since she hated being there, but she was seriously reconsidering her decision. She had finished up all her commissions for gowns and finery and decided to fly to Windhaven to be with Cassian. She didn’t know how much longer he would be there for and didn’t know how long it would take before he came back. She flew up to the House of Wind and packed some of her warmest clothes. It mostly consisted of dresses with fur lining in them, and the occasional pants and jacket. Octavia loved wearing beautiful dresses, nothing too flashy, but beautiful nonetheless. She also made sure to pack her dagger as well, Cassian had taught her how to use it. Even though she wasn’t a soldier she was still able to defend herself.
Once she was done packing her things she let Azriel know that she was flying to see Cassian. He offered to got with her, but she declined saying that she could fly herself there on her own. She said goodbye to him and the shadows before taking off to Feyre and Rhys’ home to inform them as well before she left Velaris for Windhaven. When she arrived she found Feyre in the garden with baby Nyx, she was painting on a beautiful canvas and Nyx was laying beside her looking at the clouds. Feyre heard her wing beats and turned around with a wide smile.
“Via, what are you doing here?” Ferye asked.
Octavia still wasn’t one for talking, but she was comfortable enough with feyre to talk to her.
“I came to let you and Rhys know that I’m going to Windhaven to be with Cassian. I miss him.” Octavia said gently.
“Okay I’ll let Rhys know. Have a safe flight.” Feyre said while giving Via a warm hug. Before she left she picked Nyx up from the soft blanket he rested on and gave him a hug and kiss on the forehead. She placed him back on his blanket and took off to the skies.
—---------------------------------
The flight to Windhaven wasn’t long since Octavia was a fast flier. She landed in front of the home Cassian had bought for them in case of extended stays there. She brought her key up to the lock on the door and let herself in. When she opened the door she found the house in a bit of a mess. There were clothes and weapons lying around, some of the candles were burnt out and the fridge was running out of food. She felt sad for her husband, she knew that he must have been struggling as much as her. Cassian wasn’t the most organized person, but he would never let it get this bad if he wasn’t missing her as much as she did him.
She decided to get to work and start freshening up their home. She knew her fair share about weapons; her husband is a general, of course she knows about weapons. She started sorting them and putting them away in the weapons room and locking the door before she started cleaning up the armor and leathers. She would have Cassian wash them later, right now she just wanted them off the floor and in the hamper. The next thing she did was handle the food situation, but it seems that Azriel sent some shadows with her because when she went to check the fridge and cabinets she found them full of food and a happy shadow rubbing against her cheek. She kindly thanked the shadow and sent it back to her brother with loving pats.
Now that the house was all clean and stocked with food she was able to properly get to work. Usually she and Cassian made food together, but she knew he got tired when he was training the Illyrians. She made all of their favorite foods and made a beautiful chocolate cake for them to share. By the time she finished cooking it was already nighttime and Cassian would be home soon. Octavia decided to get a shower and put on one of her favorite red dresses. When she finished getting ready the front door opened and she heard her mate stomping around. She could hear his questioning tone, inquiring about the amazing smell coming from the kitchen and lack of weapons on the ground.
When Octavia made her way down the steps to her mate she saw him turn around faster than lightning. When he saw her, his face split into a wide grin and he ran towards her for an embrace. He picked her up and spun her around, saying her name over and over again. Once he put her back on the ground their lips connected beautifully. It was one of the best ones she ever received from him. When she pulled away to look at him she saw how tired he was. Bags were starting to form under his eyes and they didn’t have their usual spark in them. She placed both hands on the sides of his face and ran her thumbs along his cheeks. Cassian preened at the attention and nuzzled into her palms.
“I’ve missed you so much, sweetheart.” Cassian’s voice was barely above a whisper, but Octavia heard him.
“I’ve missed you too, my love. So, so much.” she said, returning his affectionate look. “Why don’t we sit down and eat dinner? You can tell me what made you look so stressed out.”
“Yes please.” Cassian said eagerly, excited to eat his mates' amazing smelling food.
They both sat down at the table, Cassian pulling out Octavia’s chair for her, and piled their plates with food. Cassian had been so happy to see his love. He had been missing her so much in these last three weeks. Every time he thought he would be able to leave, something always stopped him. It was getting on his nerves, so he was happy that Via came. They talked about everything and nothing, sometimes there would be a lul in the conversation and they would just eat silently in peace.
When they were done eating Octavia took Cassian upstairs and got him out of his leathers so he could take a bath. The tub was big enough for their wings, so big that it could fit both of them together. She put lavender oil into the bath so it would help to calm him down, but not too much cause it could trigger his allergies. Once he was in the bath he begged her to join him. Even though she had just gotten clean she couldn’t resist her sweet husband and, after taking off her dress, got into the bath with him. They helped each other clean up and exchange gentle touches. Before long they were all clean and ready to rest for the night. When Cassian had on his sleep pants and Octavia her nightgown they crawled into bed together to cuddle. Via had her head on Cassian’s tattooed chest and he had an arm around her waist, pulling her close to him. Eventually they drifted off to sleep, happy to be in each other's arms again; for the first time in three weeks, they could finally have a good night's rest.

Why am I anti SJM?
I've previously mentioned this in posts before but decided to make this to clarify my thoughts. Look, I didn't go out of my way to become anti SJM when I started reading her books, I actually had been looking forward to reading them!
About... 3 years ago I think, I convinced my mom to get me Throne Of Glass. After reading through a few chapters I realized I made a huge mistake in getting that book. And sure, it was my fault in not looking into it before then. I'm not familiar with YA books so I had no idea what to expect, as a teen I skipped over to adult books like from Stephen King. I always wanted to read romance books though so I thought it would be good to try new things. Well, lesson learned.
I felt guilt for wasting both me and my mom's time, can't even bring myself to tell her that I hate the book that I convinced her to buy for me. So I hoped if I found a way to read ACOTAR (which was what I originally wanted to get but couldn't find it) that I'd feel better and, well, I actually enjoyed that one. It was like glorified Disney's Beauty and the Beast fanfiction (seriously, tell me that Feyre isn't just Belle, Tamlin is the Beast, and Rhys is Gaston) but I found it fun, I thought that I just had the wrong impression of SJM with Throne Of Glass.
I decided to glance through ACOMAF as I was considering buying the series later and wanted to make sure that ACOTAR wasn't just a fluke. Then I read it... it's hard to describe how disappointed it made me feel. I wasted my time... again.
That's when I decided instead of feeling sorry for myself I'd use SJM's books as a learning experience and how to avoid the same writing pitfalls as her.
Reading through other anti SJM posts also helps me feel better, feels like I'm not crazy for hating these books.
I know besides the writing there's other problems with SJM but I try to not bring up anything with her personal life. The only time I would bring it up is if it's tied to her writing in some way (like for example how she writes siblings, found out she has a brother which makes me wonder why she writes sibling dynamics in such an odd way in her books because I assumed she was an only child before).
I'm a bit... mixed on her prose, sometimes it's fine but others it's bleh. Y'know how people think of characters as "I can fix him/her"? That's what SJM's books are like for me, I want to fix them so much. I see where things could've worked if it was rewritten, I'm not going to do it myself though, I'm just going to nitpick them instead.
Anyway, if anyone was confused on why I'm still going over SJM books even though I hate them I hope this explains why I'm still reading them. I do plan to go over other authors (maybe YA authors as they seem to be pretty bad from what I can tell) I'm just being a bit slower going over SJM.

Jagged Peak sucks too
And I'll say it actually. Gray Wing's anger is completely fucking justified. This has nothing to do with Jagged Peak's disability, this is because he's completely irresponsible with the well being of children
This isn't the first time he lost track of the kittens when he was in charge of them, either. Last time this happened they had to mount a rescue mission.
We see Sparrow Fur get painted a lovely shade of red in her own blood because she ran off on her Father Quest, mauled by One Eye in her goal to reconnect to her mother's domestic abuser, while Gray Wing trusted his brother with ONE JOB to make sure they didn't do something ridiculous
Gray doesn't know that Sparrow looks like a Children's Hospital right now, but he does know she's missing. And he learns where she is from OWL EYES
JAGGED PEAK SAID IT WAS OKAY
FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S CHILD
TO RUN INTO THE FOREST
TOWARDS A GROUP THAT IS HARBORING A WIFEBEATER
AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO BE THE ONE TO TELL GRAY WING THAT HIS ADOPTED DAUGHTER IS NOT IN CAMP
It gets worse. Gray Wing calls him over FURIOUS and Jagged Peak plays stupid
"IS THERE A PROBLEM THAT I LET YOUR CHILD GO LOOKING FOR HER ABUSIVE BIODAD IN THE WOODS, UNACCOMPANIED?"
Jagged Peak started to look uncomfortable :(((((((((( "im sowwy i thought it would be okey :( after all the wifebeater is HER FATHER, gray wing, guy who was mates with turtle tail and is the only paternal figure the kittens have ever known. i thought you wouldnt be a little bitch about it because she's big enough that a fox could eat her in two bites instead of one."
THESE KITTENS WERE BORN IN SUMMER. IT IS CURRENTLY AUTUMN. THEY ARE, AT MOST, 6 MONTHS OLD. That is assuming that they were born at the start of summer and this is the end of autumn.
Most likely scenario is that we are looking at 4-month-old kittens, and Jagged Peak said it was FINE for Sparrow Fur to run off on her own into the Oh So Dangerous Woods
How many stupid pills is a lethal dose?
You do not, under ANY circumstances, "GOTTA ADMIT HE WAS RIGHT"
EVERY time I believe that this arc has scraped the BOTTOM of the barrel, I hear the sickening crackle of wood and peak over the rim to watch them scooping out splinters.
"all three of them wanted to train with the man who got their mom killed, gray wing. so i let your 10 year old run off into the woods. 10 is old enough to make their own choices gray wing. come on man. c'maaaaan"
Then he starts gushing about how HE is going to be a dad, because that's just fucking GREAT, Jagged Peak. You've really proven how responsible you are and how much you can totally be trusted with children.
RE: This has NOTHING to do with Jagged Peak's disability. None of that is a factor into LETTING CHILDREN RUN OFF INTO THE WILDERNESS UNSUPERVISED
But then The News reaches the Moor cats. Sparrow Fur has been mauled and she is hanging on for dear life. What a turn of events!! No one could have seen this coming!!!!!! Gray Wing rips into Jagged Peak.
All THREE of you suck. NONE of you are okay people. You are all BLIGHTS on my eyeballs and I wish all three of you fell into a meat grinder at the end of this series
Gray Wing downplaying Clear Sky's role in everyone's pain and torment. AGAIN
Clear Sky "ohhh I feel dreadful :(" good. die.
Jagged Peak: "im sorry b-b-b-b-b-BUT your daughter was INSISTENT, so, you have to forgive me for letting her run into the woods alone--"
Before you go ahead, go on back up. Read that again. Sparrow Fur was put in danger because of Jagged Peak's STUPID choice, and he can't even FULLY take responsibility for it. "I AM sorry, I should have checked with you................................ BUT."
Always, ALWAYS in this series, a character who is angry is treated as JUST AS BAD as the person who hurt them and mustered up a shitty apology.
You expect me to take Gray Wing FINALLY expressing anger towards the shitty people in his life as a bad thing?? You think I'm supposed to see this as an expression of ableism???? TWICE now Jagged Peak has let children wander off, they have been KIDNAPPED in the past, and now Gray Wing is faced with losing ANOTHER family member. All because of Jagged Peak being an irresponsible manbaby who couldn't say no to an "insistent" child
His leg had NOTHING to do with this. Jagged Peak is the same reckless kid that charged out of the mountains and forced Gray Wing to follow him to prevent him from becoming eagle food, not thinking about anyone else besides himself, but this time he isn't a kid anymore. He's an expectant father.
Fuck, I'll bet you that it's why he let Sparrow Fur run off into the woods alone in the first place. "I did it and turned out fine!" When he's always had GRAY WING behind him to save his ass
Is this harsh? Yes.
Is it deserved? ALSO YES. Jagged Peak should take this shit to heart and THINK about what it means to be a parent before his children come into the world and have to deal with having HIM for a father
TEA.
A BOSTON HARBOR FULL OF TEA
I hate that the only time this arc ever lets Gray Wing fucking unload onto someone, it has to go and try to make it a big shameful thing that he's NOT being a total doormat. He's RIGHT.
Jagged Peak needs his wife to jump in and stand up for him because he can't face the fact that his stupid, careless decision put Sparrow Fur in danger and his brother, NOTORIOUSLY A PUSHOVER, is rightfully losing his shit with him
Jagged Peak, I hope it felt just as good to smack your brother as it did to call Bumble a fat slob before you stood by and watched her get dragged back to her domestic abuser. The same one you let a kitten run to. I hope your paw falls off.
But before it does, I hope you learn to take responsibility for your actions. Loser ass.
And before someone tries to clown at me about "Oh but Gray Wing was legitimately ableist to Jagged Peak in the past so actually it's not okay that he's yelling at him even though he's totally right!" Do you mean the time he prevented him from running towards a forest fire, the same one that also permanently disabled and ends up killing Gray Wing himself via complications, that everyone could only barely escape from with a lot of jumping? Or do you mean when he told him to defend the camp instead of joining in on the First Battle Murder Party, when Clear Sky was indiscriminately slaughtering people?
Or do you mean when Clear Sky was insulting him in public by calling him useless and Gray Wing was out here trying to insist that he IS useful? Which is its OWN bucket of problematic worms, but no, NEVER in a way that was meant to insult Jagged Peak for his ability or lack thereof.
This is completely new. He has NEVER snapped at Jagged Peak like this.
In fact I even point out in the link above that Jagged Peak shouldn't have to "justify" his existence. His life has value (even though he treated Bumble like hers didn't). That doesn't mean he can't face criticism for what he just allowed to happen to Gray Wing's adopted child. That doesn't mean he'll make a good dad if he doesn't smarten up. That doesn't mean Gray Wing shouldn't be fucking pissed at him.
Shove off, Holly. Shove off, get lost, play in traffic, suck an egg. You should take out your pain on the person who is responsible for sending a child to an unsafe camp with her mother's abuser where she got mauled, actually. That's completely fucking reasonable.
Holly x Jagged Peak FOREVER. HAND IN UNLOVABLE HAND. YOU CERTAINLY DESERVE EACH OTHER, IF NOTHING ELSE
Disclaimer: This is not a Gray Wing defense post. All three brothers are terrible. Clear Sky remains the absolute worst. Jagged Peak is the "least" bad but he's still fucking awful.
#this arc is going to give me an aneurysm#How do you have three children and all of them come out with their own unique flavor of awful#NIGHTMARE blunt rotation#tw ableism#tw child abuse

Have you ever posted about what about Mormonism first caught your interest and why its stuck as such a major interest?
I've been asked this before, but not for a while, so I'll answer again.
I've always been pretty interested in religion and religious history, I think part of this comes from growing up with a few very different religious perspectives in my extended family. I was raised Episcopalian and so was my dad, but my mom was raised Catholic and my dad's older sister and her husband are born-again evangelical Baptists. I was very much a type of kid who paid attention to and noticed stuff like this, so when I went to Catholic mass with my grandparents I would pick up on both similarities to and differences from what I was used to at the church my immediate family went to, and have questions about that. And my mom talked with me when I was still pretty young (late elementary/preteen) about why she left Catholicism and issues she had with it, and I also remember talking with her about how my aunt and uncle are creationists and what that meant and creationism versus evolution versus intelligent design and how to avoid arguments about this when we visited them. So I definitely grew up navigating having very divergent religious experiences and perspectives in my family and how to engage with people respectfully about that, and I was always curious about how different groups worship and define themselves.
I had a couple different phases as a kid where I was very interested in researching religious topics, like I got very into Ivanhoe in fifth grade and read a lot about the crusades and medieval Catholicism for a few years, and then later in middle school I first became interested in religious extremism and cults and I used to watch 19 Kids And Counting and read a lot of Time magazine special editions about Heaven's Gate and similar topics.
I didn't really know a ton about Mormonism until I was an adult because I didn't know a lot of LDS people and I don't remember learning anything about Mormonism in my US History classes in school. When my brother and I were in elementary school, one of his best friends was a boy whose family was LDS so I had been over to his house several times and played with his sister and stuff, but I don't remember him or his parents really talking about their religion at all and I don't think I asked any questions either of them or of my parents. (Though I do remember my mom explaining that his parents didn't drink because of their religion, and I also remember reading the titles on their living room bookshelf and seeing a lot of books about Brigham Young and assuming he was my brother's friend's dad's historical blorbo essentially because my dad had multiple biographies of Abraham Lincoln and I thought it was a similar circumstance.)
About three years ago when I was living in Boston I was reading a fair bit about the Nation of Islam because a) Louis Farrakhan grew up in Roxbury where I worked and there's a main street in Roxbury named after Malcolm X, and I remember thinking that it was ironic that Farrakhan was the local but the street was named after Malcolm X and wondering if that pisses him off b) the Nation of Islam is fascinating to me in general. So I watched this Hulu documentary about the Nation of Islam and then Hulu recommended me a documentary about FLDS and I watched that too. I felt like the documentary didn't really go into enough detail about the historical context for modern Mormon fundamentalism, so I checked out the book Under the Banner of Heaven from my local library, and then I wanted to know more about early Mormon history in general, so I checked out a few more books, and then I got hooked and started ordering some of the ones the library didn't have online.
I can't entirely explain why my interest in Mormonism has stuck around, because I do tend to be very fixated on special interests and sometimes that kind of feels a little arbitrary, especially when that sort of hyperfixation intersects with and becomes genuine investment in academic scholarship (which it doesn't always for me, but here it did). I am interested in women's history in general and always have been, so I initially really found polygamy fascinating, and wanted to learn more about the dynamics of polygamous households. Specifically, the fact that early Mormons created a very controversial social order that wildly diverged from the norms of their culture, did this essentially from scratch, and were able to maintain it for roughly 3-4 generations of polygamist families despite significant external pressure and initial internal opposition is really interesting to me. I also think Mormonism is a very American religion that has also sometimes been at odds with American mainstream culture despite that and that's a very fascinating dynamic to investigate. I think I've also often been interested in attempts to create a new, utopian community or culture and the ways in which these experiments often fall short, which has been a constant in a lot of my historical interests like the American Revolution, the Soviet Union, and Mormonism as well.

I know that YunmengJiang and GusuLan seem to emphasise on courtesy names but what about LanlingJin, QingheNie and QishanWen? From the Wen clan i am only aware of WN having a courtesy name but for the Nies?? I have no idea. I read somewhere that the Jin use generational names instead like 'Zi' for JZX's generation and 'Guang' for JGS' generation. I would love to know your thoughts and how canon supports them about the naming conventions of clans!
P.S. When we talk about eligible bachelors of a generation and people born in the same generation, what do we mean? like how many years apart can people be born to be considered as the same generation??
I think it’s safe to assume that all the boys and men in the story have courtesy names even if we are never told them. We know the Lan have courtesy names because of Lan Wangji, Lan Xichen, and Lan Sizhui, but we never learn the birth names for Lan Qiren or Lan Jingyi despite knowing they must have one. We know Jin Ling’s courtesy name is Rulan, which is what includes the new generational character, but if that is the case, that would mean that we do not know the birth names of Jin Rusong, Jin Zixuan, or Jin Zixun. And we don’t know anything about the QingheNie courtesy/birth names at all. I think ultimately that whether or not we know both names of each character doesn’t matter because the names we are shown are given for a storytelling purpose. They are vehicles of information, such as Jin Guangshao giving Meng Yao a “Guang” name to show how much he rejects Jin Guangyao as an heir, or finding out Lan Sizhui’s birth name is “Yuan” to foreshadow his connection to little A-Yuan, or Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji calling each other “Wei Ying” and “Lan Zhan” to denote intimacy. The details of the naming conventions matter less than what the names we are told have to tell us about the characters, themselves.
Idk how many years apart a “generation” is considered in China, but in America, the generational cutoff is 20 years. A person who’s been on the workforce as a legal adult for 10 years could be of the same generation as someone who just started their senior year in high school. There’s a 4-year difference between me and one of my younger brothers, but he’s a zoomer and I’m a millennial. Generational divides are kinda fake, but the way “generation” is being used in those two phrases is not the same.
“Bachelors of their generation”—generation is being used to denote the peer group, so that “everyone born in this x amount of years” categorization, but in the story, this is just the generation of the clan heirs (and Nie Mingjue who took over early) who are all only a few years apart from each other in age, anyways.
“People born in the same generation”—if this was referring back to the Jin naming conventions, then this is a different “generation” categorization which goes by your placement of birth on your family tree. For instance: your grandparents are one generation, your mom and her siblings are the second generation, and you and your siblings and cousins are the third. Your mom and your mom’s sister are still of the same generation even if there is a 30-year age gap between them, because they are both your grandparents’ direct children. Your mom will never be of her nephew’s generation even if they were born in the same year, because your mother is a direct child of your grandparents while her nephew is the grandchild. Age or birth year won’t ever change those placements.
#mdzs asks#yiling-laozu-is-loml#I’m answering the other two together#but this one seemed less research-intensive so#decided i could just get this out separately

1-8 for Echo North, 11-15 for Rose in Bloom, 16-18 & 20 for Eight Cousins, and 1-4 & 16-20 for Wingfeather, please?
Echo North:
1. What got you into this story?
I think I stumbled across it by chance while looking for something to read on Libby, and it sounded interesting.
2. Describe it in one or two sentences.
A Beauty and the Beast retelling that draws influence from Eros and Psyche, as well as other related Beast-as-Bridegroom stories. Magical, mysterious, and romantic!
3. Quickly list 3 things you like about this story.
I ended up really liking the main character (which is pretty rare for me these days with YA), the worldbuilding is absolutely gorgeous, and I liked its take on the “Beast.”
4. assign this story a hyperspecific genre name.
Beast-as-Bridegroom casserole.
5. Do you have a favorite character?
Probably Hal/The Wolf, though I was fond of Echo’s brother, too.
6. Do you have a least favorite character?
I wasn’t very fond of Echo’s father. WHY on EARTH did you marry that woman??
7. How does the story compare to your initial impressions of it? Has it surprised you? How?
To be honest, it’s been awhile, so I don’t really remember my first impressions. But I did love being surprised by just how many influences and references to other fairy tales (and fairly obscure ones, at that) there were throughout, especially the Tam Lin reference near the end. But it also had some really nice worldbuilding and story that was entirely its own, I don’t want to undersell that.
8. What questions are or were you most excited to learn the answers to while experiencing the story for the first time?
I was really intrigued as to how it would handle the Beast/Eros figure, and I was NOT disappointed.
Rose in Bloom:
11. If you were put in the main character’s position, how well would that go with you on a scale from 1-5?
I’d say a 4? I’m not as social as Rose, so parties would be interesting, to say the least, but otherwise I’d think I’d do pretty okay in that environment.
12. Assuming your loved ones would be there, would you want to live in the world of the story?
Why not? I don’t have a particular hankering to live there, but I’m certainly not against it.
13. Tell me an out-of-context piece of worldbuilding or lore.
Technically Eight Cousins lore, but Alec was in love with Rose’s mom (before she was Rose’s mom, of course), and it took me till my THIRD REREAD to pick up on that.
14. How likely do you think this story is to break a person’s heart?
This isn’t an inherently heartbreaking story, but because it’s fundamentally so cozy I think the reader is in some serious danger of being caught VERY off-guard by the ending of Charlie’s storyline, especially if they haven’t read Alcott before and aren’t familiar with how she handles serious subject matter.
15. What time are you most likely to be found reading/watching this story?
I don’t really have a specific time, but I do usually reread this book at some point every year.
Eight Cousins:
16. Do you think this story has broad appeal, or is it meant for a very specific audience? If it’s more niche, what kind of person would enjoy this story?
Fairly broad, I think? This story doesn’t have any romance, so I really think it appeals to anyone who’s just looking for a light, sweet read.
17. Compare this story to your usual tastes. How does it differ from what you’ve already enjoyed?
My usual tastes are either fantasy, mystery, or Alcott/Austen/Montgomery-style, and this definitely falls squarely into that last camp. I will say though, I don’t usually read books that are as episodic in nature as this one is—the only other one I’ve really read and enjoyed was Partners in Crime by Agatha Christie.
18. Compare this story to your usual tastes. What parts of it are exactly the kind of thing you’ve always loved?
Found family (though in this case, also actual family), the story has a strong moral backbone, and it’s very dialogue-heavy.
20. What’s the WORST thing about this story, in your opinion?
I do wish we could’ve gotten a little bit more about Will and Geordie—they feel a little underdeveloped at times compared to the rest of the cousins.
Wingfeather Saga:
1. What got you into this story?
I’ve listened to Andrew Peterson’s music since I was practically an infant—he’s one of my dad’s favorite artists—and grew up on his and Randall Goodgame’s children’s album, Slugs and Bugs. I didn’t find out he had written a fantasy series until I saw the first book in my youth minister’s living room when I was a preteen, and me and my youth minister’s daughter read it around the same time.
2. Describe it in one or two sentences.
One group of siblings’ trip to their village festival kicks off an epic quest for the redemption of their family, their homeland, and the world.
3. Quickly list 3 things you like about the story.
It is undeniably beautiful and hopeful but also unapologetic about talking about evil, the true ugliness of it, and its consequences, I absolutely love Janner as a main character and relate to him so much, and I love its poetic language.
4. Assign this story a hyper-specific genre.
Hopeful tragicomic family fantasy epic.
16. Do you think this story has broad appeal, or is it meant for a very specific audience? If it’s more niche, what kind of person would enjoy this story?
I think it is very clearly appealing to those who already like fantasy (especially Tolkien and Lewis), and while it’s a “children’s” series, I think it’s meant to appeal to all ages. It is very obviously a Christian story to me, but I do wonder how easily it might fly under the radar from a secular perspective? I think it could for the first book or two, at least.
17. Compare this story to your usual tastes. How does it differ from what you’ve already enjoyed?
I don’t normally love stories that end like *REDACTED*. This is an exception.
18. Compare this story to your usual tastes. What parts of it are exactly the kind of thing you’ve always loved?
The epic fantasy, the redemption arcs, the strong coming-of-age story—really, this whole series is EXACTLY up my alley.
19. Pitch an idea for a sequel or a spinoff novel for this story?
I’m trying to avoid the VERY obvious sequel potential here about *REDACTED*, though I desperately want it…lemme think…
Personally, I think it could be really interesting to see a story about Kalmar and his rule as king, picking up in his mid-to-late teens.
Alternately—a prequel about Esben and Artham. We all want it! We all want their antics and adventures! We all want to see Artham in his lady-killer era!

For your writing advice series: how much character backstory is too much? Too little? How do you balance that in a fic and in your books? I always struggle with this.
Great question!
Note: I'm going to primarily answer this for characters that the audience/POV character don't know, so whether that's an OC or you're writing a fic that wants to be accessible to people outside of the fandom. The simple reason for this is that if you assume all readers and characters have all the canon context for everyone's backstories, then you won't be dealing with this very much, if at all.
One thing I think about a lot is that when your POV character is meeting someone new, they will know NOTHING about them. Backstory trickles out of people very slowly, and in an order that doesn't make sense. For example: I made new friends when I moved to where I live now about 4 years ago, and we've been super close for at least 3 years. Here are things I learned about them and how:
M - I found out about a year into our friendship that her mom died when she was a kid. I learned this via her telling a story about how someone was reading her palm and freaked out when they had to tell her one of her parents was going to die young. This was a funny story to her, and the context was not for her to share her trauma, it was about laughing at the horror in this girl's eyes when she read that in her palm! I didn't know until M told the story that her mom was dead. I thought she said it happened when she was 8, I found out like 6 months ago that she was 21. I was like, OOPS.
A - She mentioned in passing conversations from pretty early on that she spent some of her childhood in Panama (we're in the US). I've only put together from bits and pieces of what she's dropped how long she lived there, why, and how it intensely it impacted her. I found out 2 months ago that she went back when she was 15 by herself and like, had sex, etc.
If I were writing our friendship in a fic or novel, it would be so easy to have M be like, "Today is really hard for me because it's the anniversary of my mother's death. She and my dad divorced when I was little, and she remarried someone horrible and abusive, and then she died when I was in college. It's so complicated to remember and miss her as my mother, but also as the person who introduced these really toxic people into my life."
Or for A, it could be like, "I was in a restaurant with my new friend A, who surprised me by ordering in fluent Spanish. When she saw the look on my face, she said, 'Oh, I spent a lot of my childhood living in Panama. My parents were both in Doctors Without Borders, so they brought us all down, and then I went back to study abroad myself in high school. It was a really complicated experience, sometimes I feel like I missed out on an American childhood and a Panamanian childhood, like I had neither. The whole thing really changed my relationship with my parents, and my brother, and I'm not sure I've even processed it all.'"
Those are boring! That's infodumping, and not how real friendship or relationships tend to work. Maybe if you're online dating and you Go On A Date and say Tell Me About Yourself, but most relationships grow more organically.
If this is something your POV character needs to know, for example they're trying to date M and we need the reader/POV character to know that her mom is dead -- then ask yourself:
When would she tell the POV character about it? Early on, to get it out of the way? In a big reveal towards the end? Dropped casually in the middle in a way that she doesn't thinks is a big deal or want to be a big deal? The big question is: will M share this BEFORE there's a situation in which this information is helpful context, or AFTER? After is usually what I choose in fiction, because it keeps things more interesting for the reader and the POV character. This means we can wonder "Hmm I wonder why M had that reaction, that was weird," instead thinking "Oh I bet she reacted that way because of her dead mom."
What is an in-character way for M to share that info? Is it through a monologue? A funny story about palm reading? An anniversary? A picture falling out of her wallet? We may actually learn more from this—the way M wants to share this—than from the content of what she's sharing.
Does she want to talk about it? Is it something she brings up frequently? How does she respond to questions?
Does she want to attribute things in her personality to it? Very few people say, "The reason I'm like XYZ is because of ABC experience I had at age 8," but that's pretty common in fiction or movies. But people are complex. How does M see the impact of this on herself, and how does the POV character see it, and if those are different, what does that mean for POV character? That's fun, potentially!
What is her tone/mood when she's talking about it? Sad? Crying? Pretending to be fine? Actually fine? Totally over it? Jaded? Telling a joke? This tells us SO MUCH about M.
FUN BONUS QUESTION: Does she realize she hasn't mentioned this before? Does she even know this is the first time she's told you her mom is dead, or has she forgotten who she's told and who she hasn't? Her NOT realizing it's the first time is a super interesting thing for your POV character to go through.

ahhh i’m sorry for my poor english in this request, but i wanted to let you know your stories have been a big help in learning how to speak englsih more naturaly if that makes sense. i wanted to request a Reese Wilkerson x reader where he stands up against the girls rude boyfriend when he sees them arguing at school. i loved watching this show ! thank you💗
What You Deserve (Reese Wilkerson X Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: Reese knows his best friend deserves better. Y/n realizes her best friend is what’s better.
A/N: Your english is great! I’m so glad to know that along with just being something fun to read, my stories help people in a way :)))
***
“Reese, I’m done talking about this.” Y/n groaned as she and her best friend walked to school.
“I just don’t get what you see in that guy. He’s an asshole!” The boy retorted. The guy in question was Y/n’s boyfriend, Billy Davis. In the past month they had been dating, Reese was very adamant about making his feelings about the guy known to her. “Especially to you.”
“That’s pretty hypocritical, Reese, considering you’re an asshole to basically everybody.” The girl jokes, trying to ease the tension. It didn’t work well.
“Yeah, but I’m not a dick to the people I date. You guys argue all the time over the dumbest stuff.” Now that was true. One of the main things the couple argued about recently was Reese. Billy was a very jealous person and didn’t truly believe that Y/n and Reese were just best friends.
But Reese didn’t need to know that.
“Just drop it, Reese, please. I’m happy with him.” That was a lie. Over time, Y/n had gotten more annoyed with her boyfriend than anything else. But she thought they were just going through a rough patch in their relationship.
A rough patch that’s lasted for half of their relationship.
“Fine.” Reese finally dropped the topic. “Can you help me study for that trig test we have next week? My mom will probably make me sleep in the yard if I don’t pass, and Malcolm won’t help me.”
“Yeah, of course, man. I’ll come over after school.”
Soon, the two reached the school and split up; Reese went to talk to Malcolm, and Y/n went to Billy.
“Hey, babe.” She greeted him, kissing his cheek. She caught him rolling his eyes and became confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Why did you walk to school with him? You know I would’ve given you a ride.” Y/n sighed, searching for an answer that wouldn’t start a fight.
“I like walking, Billy. And Reese’s house is on the way here, so we walk together.”
“Then why wasn’t his brother with you? I’m assuming they live in the same house.”
“Malcolm gets here before us because he’s in, like, every extracurricular this school has. Why are you interrogating me right now?” Y/n was starting to get pissed, worries of starting a fight long gone.
“I’m not interrogating you; I just don’t get why you’re always around that guy.”
“That guy is my best friend, Billy.”
“You okay, Y/n?” She jumped at Reese’s sudden appearance. She turned around to see him staring at Billy angrily. She then looked at Billy, who had the same expression.
“Yeah, Reese, I’m fine.” She watched nervously as Billy took a step closer to Reese.
“Trying to be her knight in shining armor or something, Wilkerson?” Reese tilted his head at the comment.
“Why? Is there something I should be saving her from, Davis?” Reese asked, looking up and down at him. Billy tried to think of a response but couldn’t. He gripped the strap on his backpack, slowly walking backward from Reese.
“Whatever.” He turned his attention to Y/n. “You’re coming to my place after school, right, babe?” Y/n felt as if the universe hated her right now.
“I can’t….” She trailed off, knowing there was no avoiding telling him the truth. “I’m going to Reese’s house after school.” Billy rolled his eyes and scoffed.
“Figures.” Then he just walked away, not even saying goodbye to his girlfriend. Y/n groaned, planting her face in her hands.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Reese asked, placing a hand on her shoulder. Y/n couldn’t decide if she was annoyed that Reese came over while she and her boyfriend were fighting over him, or flattered that he cared this much about her well-being.
“I’m okay.” She patted his hand in thanks as the bell rang, and they walked to their first period. Billy drifted away from Y/n’s mind for the rest of the day until she saw him after school.
She wanted to get through Billy’s head once and for all that she and Reese were just friends. She was dating him, and if he wanted to keep it that way, he would have to learn to stop his jealousy.
But when Y/n looked for her boyfriend, she found that he didn’t seem to want that anymore.
Across the quad was Billy with some girl, holding her tight in his arms. Y/n didn’t think too much of it. He was allowed to hug whoever he wanted, but then one of his hands went to her face and pulled her into a kiss. Y/n sped over to them, pushing him when she got close enough.
“I can’t believe you! You kept getting jealous over me being friends with Reese, and then you go and kiss another girl? What’s wrong with you?” Billy tried to come up with some lame excuse, but Y/n stopped him before he could get a word out. “We’re over, asshole.”
Y/n turned on her heel and walked away. Behind her, she could hear the girl Billy was with start to yell at him for keeping the fact that he was in a relationship a secret. As she walked to the school’s front entrance to meet with Reese, Y/n realized that she didn’t really feel sad about breaking up with Billy. She was angry but also relieved. She couldn’t believe that he had the audacity to continuously question her and Reese’s friendship and then go and cheat on her.
“You look angry,” Reese said, eyeing her expression. “What did he do this time?” Y/n grabbed his wrist to drag him toward his house, wanting to get away from the school as fast as possible.
“He was kissing another girl.” Reese was quick to free himself from the girl’s grip. She called after him, but he ignored her as he ran to the quad.
When Y/n caught up to Reese, he was already yelling at Billy and pushing him around. She kept calling his name but kept a distance from the two. She wondered how a teacher wasn’t running over to separate them, but knowing Reese, they probably wanted to stay out of it.
“I knew from the start that you were a dick, but cheating on her?” Billy stumbled when Reese shoved him. “You never deserved her!”
“And you think you do?” Billy shot back. He got close to Reese, lowering his voice slightly so Y/n wouldn’t hear. “I’m not an idiot, Reese. I know you like her; why else would you hang around her all the time?”
Y/n didn’t know what Billy said to Reese, but it seemed to really piss him off because suddenly Billy was on the floor, clutching his jaw. Reese started to run, grabbing Y/n’s hand so she could follow.
“What the hell was that, Reese?” Y/n tried to catch her breath as they reached the Wilkerson’s house. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“He deserved it,” Reese muttered, heading to his room. She followed him, watching him drop his bag and sit on his bed. She sat next to him.
“What did he say to you?” She asked softly. Seeing him tense, she put a hand on his shoulder. His muscles slowly loosened under her touch.
“It’s not important.”
“If it has you this pissed off, then yes, it is.” Reese looked like he was about to say something but shut his mouth. He reached for his bag and pulled out a math textbook.
“Can we just study for a bit?” Y/n knew something was very wrong. Reese was willingly ready to study instead of talk about Billy, who he was always willing to talk about. She took the textbook, still looking at him.
“Tell me what he said, and I will.” She could see Reese debating it in his head. He must’ve figured that she wouldn’t let it go because he sighed, looking at everything in the room except her.
“He said…” Reese cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable with what he was about to say. “He basically said that I don’t deserve you and that he knows that the reason I hang out with you all the time is because I like you.” Y/n was silent for a bit, unsure of what to say.
“Was he right?” She asked hesitantly. Reese groaned, seemingly frustrated.
“I don’t know! I guess! I mean, yeah, I like you, but that’s not why I hang out with you. Well, that’s kinda why, but that’s not the only reason!”
“There’s other reasons?” Y/n asked, her lips slowly forming into a smile.
“Well, duh. I mean, for one, you- wait.” Reese looked at her, confused. “You’re not freaked out?”
“Why would I be freaked out?”
“I just told you that I liked you. And we’re supposed to be friends.”
“Well, what if I don’t wanna be friends anymore?” The room was silent after Y/n’s question. Before fear could stop her, the hand on Reese’s shoulder dropped down to his hand, resting on top of it. “What if I liked you too?”
Reese processed the questions. Realizing they weren’t really questions and were more statements, he looked at her.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked, scared that he was somehow misreading the situation.
“Please.”

I Love Yoo Timeline Part 1/4
The Evidence Part 1
This is part 1 of 4 of my I Love Yoo Timeline as of Episode 241.
Part 1 and 2 consists of laying out all the detailed evidence with descriptions, screenshots and episode number.
Part 3 consists of explaining the evidence, connecting the dates and some math because the I Love Yoo universe (or as I like to call it, Yooniverse) uses letters instead of numbers to represent official years.
Part 4 is the I Love Yoo Timeline.
----
Seeing Nessa alive in Kousuke's flashback of his highschool graduation day made me question everything I though I knew about the timeline so I have read, reread, and re-reread this webtoon; I've researched old reddit and tumblr posts, Quimchee's old Curious Cat answers, the wiki, and so much more.
(Just in case someone is worried, all information presented is free and publicly available. I was told that in Quimchee's patreon I could possibly find more exact information but I decided against looking there since I wouldn't be able to share my findings outside of patreon and my goal is for everyone who is a fan of I Love Yoo to be able to see this mega post.)
Because of the huge ammount of information I've decided to split my original post in 4 different parts so it's easier for everyone (including myself) to come back and find the information without having to endlessly scroll.
I encourage you all to go read/reread I Love Yoo with the new information you learn with this timeline in mind because oohhh boy does the story hit different. (Also take that opportunity to like all the episodes to support Quimchee!)
----
Turns out there's a lot of information in a 7+ year old, 240+ episode long webtoon; who would have though? Not me!
Anyways, there's so much information scattered all over the place and everything is so connected to everything that it was hard to organize it.
The evidence and information is in ' Whatever Order I Remembered It' order , but even so I tried my best to keep it organized by categories.
----
Episode 222 News articles
Here we got a lot of information in the presentation of news articles. So I'll keep this information as it's own category.
Let's read them up close.
Let's start with "Randulph Hannesson appointed as temporary Chairman of Hirahara Corp"
In it, it states how in March 27, 20WZ Rand gets appointed as temporary Chairman of the Board. At the same time, according to the public, he is "seeing" (dating?) Yui. Before becoming temporary Chairman of the Board (which we know he became permanent) he was CFO of Hirahara Corp. And before that he "founded a successful finance firm, Hannsesson Finance, which Hirahara Corp. has since acquired."
Now let's focus on the newspaper that's right under. In it, it talks about how an ilegal immigrant woman was found dead (assumed to be suicide) and her son is no where to be found. All arrows point to this woman being Nessa, Nol's mom.
It doesn't have a title but it does have a date. Newspapers normally publish these type of news the following morning from which the news happened meaning that Nessa died December 21st, 20XP
No wonder Nol hates his birthday week.
On the US Asia Daily Herald newspaper, "Chairman of Investment Giant Hirahara Corp to Step Down." When Rand was still CFO he was one of the witnesses that helped Young-Chul Kim be held accountable for all the SA he did. So that's where Nol got his sense of respecting and standing up for women. And that this happend in Octobre 31st, 20WY
Not really adding information to the timeline but just in case someone doesn't know, Yu-Jing has the police department interview transcripts for Nessa's death investigation
Lastly we have "Prestigious Prep School Closes SA Investiagtion With No Charges Filed" where it states that on March 20XW the 16-month long investigation of 50 years of SA with over 100 cases was basically dismissed.
Right before Nol was sent to the mental facility
Episode 150
Episode 150 starts with a flashback right after the brother incident where Nol is getting locked up in the mental facility ambulance. (This is confirmed in episode 210 because the dialogue matches up with the one in Kousuke's flashback)
And right after the flashback we get this news article that Yu-Jing has. "Troubled Child, Aftermath of the Hirahara Extra Marrital Affair."
So now we know that the brother incident that got Nol into the mental facility happened 1 year after the supposed marriage reconciliation between Yui and Rand.
Episode 210
We see a glimpse of the immediate aftermath of the incident.
It happened at night while raining.
Kousuke doesn't know what happened.
Yui's hand is bruised.
Nol is taken directly to the "Hirahara Mental Health Institute"
I'm very proud of my following discovery
The trees have no leaves.
Why is leafless trees so important and why am I so proud of my finding? Because trees lose their leaves during the Fall and by Winter they are completely leafless. This whole scene has all trees leafless meaning that it's winter. But hold on, it can't be winter winter because it's raining and not snowing. Bingo. It's early winter. And winter starts December 21st.
Episode 239
The pain I felt reading this after I figured out when in the timeline this happens.. my heart hurts.
This is the brother incident (at least the start of it).
Nol had no prior connection/relationship to the Hirahara's before this (he used the address on the letter's Rand send his mother to find them)
Nol went to Kousuke's house because he needs help, because he has no where else to go because his mother is gone.
If you're having a hard time keeping up, all this basically means the night Nessa died Nol went to look for Rand and his other family for help which is also the same night the brother incident happened which got Nol locked up in the Mental Facility which is why in both news articles Nol's whereabouts are unknown, because he was immediately taken away. (and all of this happened on his birthday :D).
After Nol got out of the mental facility
Episode 99
Nol presents himself using the name Yeong-gi.
Dieter and Nol met on the summer right before their first year of highschool.
Dieter met Nol before Soushi did.
At this moment in time it's been 5 years since Nol last saw his mom.
Episode 157
Nol was trying to befriend Soushi at the same time Kousuke was still in college.
Episode 155
Nol got out of the Mental Facility "roughly 6 years ago"
Nol spent "almost 2 years" inside the mental facility.
Kousuke mentions that the Yeong-gi name was something he started using after he came out of the Mental facility.
Episode 205
A while after Nol got out of the mental facility, Nana arrived.
"Until recently, I've been by myself."
Episode 129
Nana and Yui met for the first time after 5 years

Saw you were lookin’ for some asks dont mind if I do 👀
To start off, I’m such a big fan of your writing! I genuinely look forward to every single update of yours and find myself rereading a lot of work in the downtime. You are such a good writer!! My never ending praises aside, here are some asks!
-You incorporate OC’s into your fics so seamlessly! They feel so natural in your fics that I legit get excited anytime they show up (srsly can’t wait for Lou Jitsu vs Hidden City, Sal’s my boy) lol how do you find the right balance when introducing and maintaining OC’s in your fics? I feel like that’s a particularly difficult balance beam to tread but you absolutely crush it.
-A previous ask you answered about Cass and Raph in LSoW got me thinking; how do the brothers handle humans crushing on them? Would they be receptive or dismissive? Do they develop crushes on humans- and if so, how is that perceived (by family or the general public)? The drama 👀
Last ask, I promise:
-I absolutely loved your crossover with Empathy is Learned! Got anymore crossovers planned in the future? Oooor if you could do a crossover with any other fic, which one(s) would it/they be??
Thanks for taking the time to even look at this! I hope these are some fun asks for ya :) I hope you have a lovely day!!
Omg thanks so much... I'm so happy people enjoy my writing it's crazy to me. I've written before, but it's always been just for myself so I never really know if it was good or not. (Years of text based DnD is to thank lol.) (Okay I got carried away answering this so sorry in advance.)
On OC's:
I got a lot of comments on LSoW from people who say "generally I don't like OC's BUT-" which is so funny and flattering. Because I am absolutely one of those people who don't care for OC's in fic.
Let me be clear: I LOVE that people write self indulgent self-insert of OC based fic, where they make the craziest off the wall story etc. Every time a fifteen year old writes a story about the cringiest Mary-sue/stu self insert, or non canon character, an angel gets its wings and I mean that one hundred percent. It makes me so happy I literally grin when I see it. I HOWEVER generally filter out the OC tags on AO3 when I'm looking for something to read myself.
So when I started posting LSoW I was expecting to get maybe like, 100 kudos MAX, maybe one comment or so. Which is great! I love writing niche fic just for me, and one other person who I assume I must be drift compatible with. I just could not figure out a way to write the story I wanted without a few OC's- Rise didn't have a big enough character catalog for me to draw from!
When I went to write the OC's, I knew that they had to have a very simple backstory, that was also very fleshed out. (Xander and Sal have full family, Dr. Heo and Carter have full jobs and history together, etc.) For another contradiction I wanted them to be interesting enough that someone reading wouldn't just be skipping ahead to when they weren't present, or just simply plowing through to get past the part where they were doing exposition. They had to be enjoyable! While also forwarding the story!
They also had to be distinct. Anyone who's ever watched a Whedon show or movie (Buffy, Firefly, Avengers-) knows what I'm talking about. It drives me nuts when the characters in a show are constantly the funniest person in the room, with the same personality traits, and the same girl boss/badass tendencies.
(Fandom challenge Impossible: Give a female fan favorite character another trait besides 'girlboss/mom/lesbian'. I'm dead serious.)
(Also a disclaimer: I LOVE making jokes and doing bits. I FANCY that I'm pretty funny, and I love making people laugh. But you can do that without making it a character personality trait. For example: Xander doesn't really crack any jokes in LSoW! He's just funny because we the reader know more about the situation and his thoughts than he does.)
But the BIGGEST THING I kept telling myself while writing the story, was DO NOT TAKE AWAY FROM THE TURTLES. Because the whole point of the story is the turtles! And Yoshi! The OC's are there to facilitate that. It's a hard balance to hit. I have all sorts of touchstones I keep in mind while I'm writing, and that's a big one.
(A SUPER good example of this done super well is @faiakishi 's Bella from Dawning of the Hour. She's a great OC that's super interesting, and a super important narrative element, but she never detracts from the main story. Big Bella fan here lmao. There's also the rest of the OC's/interpretations of franchise characters (TIGERCLAW), but Bella stands out as truly original.)
On the Turtles dating Humans:
(CW: CSA mention, SA mention, non graphic talk of minors dating etc.)
I actually talked a lot about this to @/tangledinink in feverish discord chats lmao.
When the boys were growing up they got a very detailed talk from both Yoshi, and their Doctors. ONE: Because nobody will know better than themselves if something was medically wrong with their bodies, TWO: The boys are all intersex (minus Mikey) and they had to understand that there was nothing wrong with them on TOP of the turtle thing, and THREE: Because Yoshi knew the boys would be getting a lot of attention, and you never know what kind of attention that form will take.
THE BEST WAY to protect children (any child) from being sexually assaulted or abused, is making sure they know what that abuse LOOKS LIKE. You don't have to make them terrified of being sexually assaulted, but them knowing how their body works, and also how to say NO and set boundaries, will combine to help make them safer.
Yoshi didn't know what would happen in the future and in a perfect world the boys would never leave his line of sight, but that's not always how things happen. (In a Short Season, Xander parroted Yoshi's instructions before going out to make sure the boys knew what to do if someone grabbed them (in any way) and it was to bite and be loud.) So the boys grew up knowing their bodies, knowing how to say 'no', and knowing that there was probably going to be people out there who would treat them as a novelty, and who wouldn't be appropriate to them as celebrities OR non-humans.
(Remember Emma Watson having to deal with that countdown to her turning 18? Or any other amount of child stars who had to deal with adults being predatory to them.)
But ALSO THIS IS HAMATO YOSHI. His sons are HANDSOME and HEARTBREAKERS! Leo has dated a lot but never anything seriously, and his inability to be intimate with anyone but family kind of puts a damper on any more permanent relationship. (He is gay.) He's the number one turtle people ask out because he's the most approachable. Because he made himself that way!
Donnie is in a sort of relationship with Kendra. (THIS WILL BE A FIC I'm working up to it lmao.) I have a head canon that Yokai and other empyrean based creatures are capable of having rivalry based relationships. IE Yoshi and Draxum in the canon show, the unhealthy dynamic between Yoshi and Big Mama, etc. (Caliginous relationship) Donnie is in a puppy love version of that with Kendra, while also lacking the context of yokai society to understand why he wants to punch her very badly, but also if anything happened to her he would die. They hate each others guts and also she was his first kiss. She is not a nice person I am not a Kendra apologist she's terrible I love her. (Donnie is bi!)
I know a lot of people head canon Mikey as ace, but he is a thirteen year old child you don't have to be head canoning him as anything. it is the very rare 13 year old who knows their orientation, and even if they DO I bet you donuts to dollars it will change eventually. This is normal and healthy. Mikey in LSoW has had puppy crushes on boys, girls, teachers, Violet, the mailman, Adam, and Rupert Swaggert. (Eugh eugh eugh.)
Raph is absolutely irresistible to the entire student body and is completely unaware of it. He's not stupid but he's face blind and bad at picking up subtext in conversations. He's gone to multiple people's houses and spent the whole day with them, without realizing they were trying to make it a date. (Raph is bi.)
All the boys have considered identifying as girls since their Dad is the martial arts equivalent of David Bowie and Fine With That, but have settled (for now) on being boys (age 10 the last time they considered this) because quote 'Lou Jitsu and Jupiter Jim are boys and they're awesome' unquote.
They don't get any fucking privacy for their relationships, and Leo in particular had a very bad experience that closed him off from dating big time. (Stamps 'THIS WILL BE A FIC' on this as well.) But also, as of the LSoW canon they are like, 12-14 and not doing a lot of dating ANYWAY. They are BABIES.
(Enter Casey Jones)
ON CROSSOVERS:
I have one crossover with my white whale of authors (you know who you are) I have pecked at with them that I think everyone will go fucking nuts for and love, but I won't mention it in case we can't get it off the ground! (A completely okay and normal thing to happen lmao.) I think that one will end up happening though because I am too excited about it, even if it's not any time soon.
I am super open to crossovers and cowriting, especially since writing with Li because I learned SO MUCH it was like speed running improvement.
The thing is it has to fit! There's some crossovers that wouldn't have a lot of substance because there's not really a lot to cover. When it came to EiL for example, there was PLENTY to cover and do, it was so fun! But other fics might not have a lot we could do for each other. (At least, not until I get some more world building done.)
That being said I do love talking crossovers with other creators it's so fun...
If you guys ever want to use my OC's feel free, just ask me in advance! I don't mind pings.
THESE ASKS ARE FUN THANKS FOR SENDING THEM I feel like you just threw a steak into my zoo exhibit. I am recharged and rejuvenated my crops are watered my skin is clear. This felt very pretentious to write I am mortified.
