AU where Buck and Tommy didn’t know each other well, but they road tripped to the big city together, talking about anything and everything on the way there. And maybe there’s something there, but when they arrive in LA, they go their separate ways, try not to think about it. After losing contact for a few years, they run into each other again. And they keep running into each other. And eventually they exchange contact info, texting and calling, hanging out, going to dinner. They bicker and they drive each other crazy, but they’re friends. They can’t stay away. Something keeps pulling them together. One or both of them is always in a relationship, and they don’t talk about it. Marriage, divorce, and everything in between, they are friends. 

Until one day Tommy realizes oh, it’s you. And that doesn’t go over well because they’re friends! They’ve always been friends. They’ve never been more than friends.

So they don’t talk. They don’t see each other or contact each other. They learn things here and there from their mutual friends, but they can’t talk to each other directly. And Buck wonders what if? He thinks maybe. But he can’t -

Then on New Year's Eve, Buck is at a party. He’s miserable and thinking about leaving, but then Tommy’s there. He’s there, he showed up. 

And Tommy “romcom lover” Kinard hits him with: “I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your cologne on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

Buck kisses him because yeah. Yeah, that’s it. He wants the rest of his life to start right now. Without a doubt, he knows he wants this for the rest of his life.

Can the parts of the Wiki, be outdated or either incorrect? I mean the Wiki for your world and character, just clarifying.

First off I want to state: The CQ wiki is not run or moderated by me. It is a great work of fans who take the time to catalog the lore & art that I share about my characters & world, and sometimes if something slips my mind, I feel safe enough about it's state to refer to the wiki. It is something I greatly appreciate and I feel so lucky to have such dedicated fans.

That being said, yes there may be some outdated facts on some pages. How much or how little I do not know, as I only visit it occasionally. But anything outdated would be because of one of two things: Either A) I have not shared more recent changes/lore to the public, or B) It just hasn't been updated yet.

TL;DR, On occasion yes, here and there. But the best way to see to it that it becomes more accurate is to ask me what you're curious about.

You know, the reason why I'm sceptical over communities on Tumblr is because I think the issue is not how it was lacking in a community feature but how there seems to be a lack of a community mindframe for a lot of the userbase. There's only so much you can do when a lot of people have devolved into only ever using likes rather than actually getting in touch with others -- and there's only so much conversation you can withstand when every new addition equates to reblogging a post in full and potentially annoying your followers with "walls of text" (since, let's be real, this isn't a text-forward website)...

Hi, I really like your takes and I wanted to get your opinion on Talia al Ghul, cause I really don't like her and I'm curious about your opinion on her.

There's really been nothing in anything I've seen to present her as a remotely likable character. My main gripes with her lay in the fact that she slept with Jason, which, given their age gap and Jason being 17-19 while being even younger mentally, is statutory rape and the fact that she hid both of Bruce's sons from him. Also, from my perspective, she doesn't seem to actually love Bruce or Damian, she's in love with the idea of them. Bruce isn't Bruce to her, he's Batman, the world's greatest detective. Damian isn't her precious son because he's her son but because he's her ticket for her father's approval.

I want to hear your take though, and I apologize in advance if I come off as rude.

honestly, i don't have much of an opinion on talia, purely because i haven't read enough about her to form anything solid. i've never read anything focused solely on her, and when it comes to women characters that's kind of a must for me (too often have i seen women badly mischaracterised because they're only a prop in someone else's story). i don't want to speak too much on her as a character because, like i said, i don't really know her too well.

one thing i do feel kind of confident in saying, based on many posts i've seen and the few appearances of her i have read, is that rarely ever is she allowed to be as complex as she seems. it's all a little madonna-whore to me, i think. like. she's either this perfect mother who has never done anything wrong in her life, or she's this cruel, emotionless woman who's only ever out for her own gain.

but from what i know (and again, that's not a lot), she's a person who has been manipulated and used her entire life. she's often defined by what she is to someone else (damian's mother, ra's' daughter, bruce's ex, even jason's whatever). she is a mother when she is kind and she is a woman when she is evil. she's never really seen as much of a person in her own right, you know??

i also think that there's a fair few double standards thrown around that bug me so bad (e.g. "talia is so awful for allowing her son to be raised in such violence. thank god the white man who brings children into his war on crime is there to save him!" (i am saying this as the number one bruce defender)), that automatically make me want to defend her to my dying breath. (also: "you can't judge this character by this action, that was retconned! oh, it's talia? never forgive, never forget.")

i do understand where you're coming from, though. the jason thing was weird, as was the way her relationship with damian was written. but i've also seen other comics about her and damian, and her and bruce, and i do think she loves them. she seems more along the lines of "i was raised in a way that makes loving people difficult but i will do my best regardless" than "i do not love at all".

but again, i must stress, i don't know her very well. these are just things i've picked up via osmosis and minor exposure, so if there are any talia enthusiasts who'd like to correct me or add on, please feel free!!

The sunrise is beautiful. Somber darkness bleeds through to reveal a mellow orange in the skies above. The frosted mountains peer down upon the sleeping city nestled in its valley. Its presence blends this newfound light with a gentle blue hue, finally bringing life to these muted layers of snow. How peaceful it seems. Each role is fulfilled with such grace, nearly untouched by human turmoil. The morning wind bites. Its teeth fiercely graze Kai’s cheeks. Every inhale aggravates his scarred throat, still sorely scraping against his lungs after sprinting to the Chidouin residence. Tending to the family within had allowed him a brief reprieve, but standing in the crisp air again lights the tender wicks aflame. Once the door behind him opens, a familiar stride hits the wooden patio and echoes through the hollow floor beneath—for as deliberate as it appears, Kai notes a slight weight upon the right leg. A hand suddenly meets his shoulder, and only then does he glance beside himself. Master Chidouin settles at his left side, finally resting his briefcase before the stairs. With his hand free, Hikari pulls out a cigarette pack and takes one for himself, offering another for his assistant. Shaking his head, Kai instead asks: “Is Atsuko ready?” “Just about,” and the words scarcely leave his lips when he ignites the lighter. “She’ll be alright,” Kai promises, tentatively raising his hand to rest upon his elder’s—firmly clasped upon his shoulder, as though he fears to lose his support. Ever slightly, Kai inclines his head Hikari’s direction. “In a half hour alone, she has regained her strength.” Hikari exhales, letting the smoke trail off in a bitter whisper. The acrid taste stings Kai’s tongue, though he quickly suppresses the rising cough. It disperses into the cold dawn, its source clear as the day to come: this is the second seizure Atsuko has had within four days, meaning they cannot hold off on their intended appointment with Asunaro any longer. It is only natural for Hikari to rely on this habit more than before, even if it betrays the unspoken worry eating away at him. The sight is a painful one, knowing aloud the most he’ll ever allow is: “I know.” Though the phrase exists as an effort to reassure, those few words plant an inexorable dread in Kai’s chest. Even so, when Hikari lets go of his hand to bring him into a half-hug, Kai finds it difficult to cling to anything but the warmth of his embrace. “Asunaro’s got it handled.” As if an ember has broken from his hearth, it burns upon Kai’s chest with abrupt guilt. His fists curl around the railing.

i am evidently extremely normal about their interactions few and far between. one of the only chapters that hikari is still alive...
