yall it actually breaks me whenever I think about how *scarred* jasper is. she has these teal splotches over her form from corruption, she has stripes that are cut in half from being shattered, one of her horns *that she got from corrupting* is SNAPPED in half. like fuck. she's been through it and it's permanently etched into her form. she's so prideful that if she could take them away, she would, but they're still there.

these are two COMPLETELY different characters. in season 1 she comes to earth as a decorated war hero. someone respected enough to lead the mission to earth when gems were suspected to still colonize it. and in a couple years (which are like SECONDS to her!!), she suffered in a codependent abusive relationship, she fused with a corrupted monster just to try and regain her sense of strength, she gets SHATTERED. that decorated war hero? stuck on earth. scarred to hell and back. reduced to tossing boulders because there's no one worth fighting, the one thing that gave her some semblance of purpose.

maybe I'm a sucker for deep intimacy but all I want to do is just... trace her corruption scars. listen to her talk, about the war, about homeworld, about anything on her mind. I let my hands wander to her hand, the one covered in dark teal bruising, and kiss her knuckles softly. I let her be still for once.

Book Fiyero: *immediately recognizes Elphaba and stations himself at the backdoor to prevent her from evading him, stalks her halfway across town to her aerie (even though at that point in time she was only a college friend he hadn’t seen in five years), insists on seeing her again, instinctively goes to comfort her when she first cries, gets sucked into increasingly deep and fraught conversations with her about collateral damage and freedom fighter terrorism, calls her the “most individual, the most separate, the most real” DURING AN ARGUMENT, says he adores Elphaba’s looks IN THAT SAME ARGUMENT, doesn’t understand Elphaba’s “being born with a talent or an inclination for goodness is the aberration” comment because (implied) he sincerely believes Elphaba isn’t evil, changes his mind about the plight of the Animals all by himself but doesn’t mention it to Elphaba because he is afraid she would distance himself from him, buys scarves for both his wife and Elphaba even though only Elphaba likes scarves, is so concerned for Elphaba and her dangerous Lurlinemas Eve mission that he stalks her instead of staying at his club or just leaving town altogether, and is so worried about her that he returns to the aerie just to see her*

WHEW! Here it is! My favorite shots from over the year, one for each month (or... close enough!) I love putting these together it's such a fun way to look back and I'm always stunned at what I was up to at the start of the year. Odette started the year surrounded by friends and she ended the year surrounded by friends! How lucky is she. I almost had enough Skeleton shots for the first six months of the year, but then I got to March and actually gasped when I remembered how we all played Mermaids together! That was such a fun time!! Man, I have so much fun taking my little screenshots!!! It has led me to some of my favorite people!! I'm so grateful I still love this hobby and screenshots.

This year I had more than enough shots to do a second Gpose Wrapped (and then some) featuring my friends' OCs! That's wild!! These aren't in any particular order and one of them never made it to Tumblr. But I had so much fun making these and sharing them with my friends!! i am so obsessed with how like. taken as read the ot3 are at this point. like on the one hand it feels like they've been building up to this for ages but on the other hand it kind of feels like i blinked and we skipped right past some Major Turning Point where everything got spelled out and we're just already in firmly Established Relationship-land. obviously tarvek is too well-protected for anyone to assassinate openly, look how angry his boyfriend and girlfriend are at the idea of anyone threatening him. at this point i'm half-convinced agatha's just going to refer to her boyfriends in passing to someone else and no one's even going to comment on it until van finds out twenty pages later and immediately starts making everyone pay up

i'm thinking abt fig and specifically "the second you see her you're gonna feel like yourself again. i get it, your girlfriend's out of town, it sucks"

it's like. fig's fear in the nightmare forest, that everyone loves the illusion of her and not the real her, that no one wants to hear a bass player solo. the one person in the world she has irrefutable proof that that's not true for, who she saw sees the real her with her own eyes, is ayda. ayda, who is gone and traveling across time.

and in the meantime, fig doubles down on helping her friends. she focuses on helping kristen and cassandra, helping riz with the mystery, solving things for the bad kids. she becomes a paladin because she's so devoted to her friends. that conversation she has with sandra lynn where she says she feels nauseous when asked about herself but so excited about other people. "i don't even wanna exist." sandra lynn suggests she asks the bad kids what they think of her and fig says no, she doesn't want to. it's scary to her.

and it's just... fig doesn't want to think about herself and she doesn't want to try to figure out what her friends think of her either. she's so content to focus on them, and almost everything she's done this season is for her friends. in rp and also mechanically-- becoming a paladin, focusing on mystery and fucking with ruben in the downtime, even just... going to school. she's doing that for the bad kids.

and she looks at ankarna, who has been corrupted by the things other people wanted her to be. the bad kids' influence on fig is positive, but it could just have easily been not, if she had different friends. if she was dedicated to people who weren't trying to do good.

there's one person fig knows for a fact has always seen through the illusions of her, and sees something worthy of love. and she's out of town. so she gets it. it's hard.
