Arcane Characters as VTM Clans

Singed - Tzimisce. I don't think I have to explain but I will. Because not only have we seen Singed do fucked bodyhorror shit on screen multiple times, but he's also a scientist and a scholar in the way the Tzimisce are scientists and scholars: feared, respected and left alone to do their stuff.

Silco - Caitiff. Because I feel like Silco is the type to get abandoned by his sire. I don't think any of the other clans fit. The way he was outcasted and then forcefully reentered Zaun seems more like "mistaken embrace" than "thinblood". And also why he was so willing to accept Jinx, another outcast, into his crew.

Vander - Brujah. Sure, Singed is almost surely making him into Warwick but that doesn't make him a Gangrel. Vander is heart to a fault.

Ekko - Nosferatu. Because the Firelights protect their home the way Nos protect their clan and the warrens. Ekko has that "family first" energy but in the Nos way rather than the Hecata way. And also the Firelights as a whole give me Nosferatu energy with the masks and the zipping around and the hiding.

Jinx - Hear me out. Jinx is a Toreador with a derangement. Jinx is a mad scientist and a tortured artist. She's obsessive and creative and definitely committed to the theatrics. I also think Malkavian masking as a Toreador would work for Jinx. I just feel like Malkavian by itself isn't right, idk.

Vi - Also a Brujah, because she wears her heart on her fucking sleeve. And she's a rebel, even in her Enforcer era. And because Vander is her sire.

Caitlyn - Ventrue. The whole Kiramman thing plus the rich as fuck, plus the pig righteousness, plus everything in her attitude. Also because of the audacity.

Jayce - Tremere because. Just because. No but like he just reminds me of the Tremere and because he has and will backstab people to accomplish his goals. Jayce also has a lot of enemies... very Tremere of him. And the whole scientist thing. Yeah, Tremere.

Viktor - Also a Tzimisce, though I feel like there are definitely other options for Viktor. But like the hexcore body shit is very fleshcrafting vibes. Singed could totally be his sire, but like the bond has def faded.

Sevika - Banu Haqim because she's so so deadly. Definetly a warrior. And because I feel like Sevika lives by her own personal moral code and that is very Banu to me. Also also because I have a soft spot for this clan and for Sevika.

Mel - Toreador, except instead of fans she has "her people", the people of Piltover and my god does she revel in their adoration and approval. And also she is an artist, a painter even though it's not a super prominent thing. She's just so Toreader coded, the outfits, the makeup, everything.

Ambessa - Lasombra, because she is ruthless and noble and because you know Ambessa Medarda definetly has Potence 5.

Heimerdinger - Heim really reminds me of a Tremere, but I don't think he is one. I kinda wanna say Ravnos because I feel like Heim has Chimerstry, but also Heimerdinger has fae vibes and might not even be a vampire.

I just want you to know that I was rereading the PDMDZS comics yet again, and I finally caved and watched Legally Blonde because you're like a puppeteer that draws things and I'm like "well, guess I have to see it now." Now, after watching Legally Blonde, I must tell you that Elle Woods is love, Elle Woods is life, Elle Woods is everything to me. Elle Woods would have been able to save Wei Wuxian from the Jins all while looking sparkly and fantastic as she does it. (Obviously with her hype girlies in the background)

Funniest reason to give for why save Minthara: After objecting to Halsin asking to kill a Drow and being told 'yes, and you guys love killing each other' and going through the underdark where he certainly didn't let other drow live....

Bad things always seemed to happen in pairs. Eclipse knew this, it wasn't the first time his life was turned upside down. But it still hurt all the same.

First it was his son, Dally, deeply injured by wounds from battle. Eclipse couldn't let him see how worried he actually was. When Dally died from his wounds, Eclipse kept a smile on his face the entire time.

And then he was gone.

Days later, still in morning, Eclipse's grief deepened when his daughter Lilith died of pneumonia. Some dad he was, he hadn't even known she was sick. What kind of father was he, when he hadn't even been aware she had been struggling?

Both of them had been adults, Dally was 54 and Lilith had been 51. But to him, they were still his babies. Especially since those two had been the first ever kids he had ever rescued and adopted. The beginning of the Red Arms Rebellion.

Eclipse had always know this day would come. All his kids, including those two, were mortal. He could see it in the way time changed them, how wrinkles grew around their eyes and their fur turned grey. But it didn't make the pain any easier.

Now he couldn't do anything.

Over the years, Eclipse had created a village for himself and his adopted kids. Every time he found children who had been orphaned, he brought them here. Eclipse wasn't naive enough to think he could fix everything or protect them from the flame creatures that were slowly destroying the planet, but their little village was a little haven. A bit of safety.

But that didn't mean they were safe from death's cold fingers finding them.

Dally and Lilith had been his first kids. The very first. And now they were gone.

Eclipse knew there was so much he needed to do, things to check in on but how could he? He had raised and fed and protected and loved both of them dearly, but now they weren't here anymore. His beloved first kids were dead. Gone. Just like the rest of his adopted kids would be. Some day, all of them would be dead.

And he would still be here.

The thought was enough to keep him in bed, his only company his misery and grief. He had already burned through his rage and anger, attacking some ruins of an empty city until it was gone and there wasn't any excuse for him to ignore this part any longer.

Some of the older kids came in looking for him, tried to talk to him, but he couldn't entertain any of them at the moment. Eclipse just wanted to be alone with his sorrow.

Until he heard footsteps coming toward him. And a deep, calm voice said, "Eclipse."

That was enough to make the darkling sit up in surprise. Because Shadow was standing there.

It had been years since the last time they saw each other. In the past, that was because of how much they fought, arguing over every little thing. Now it was because of how busy they were, Eclipse was caring for his village and massive family, while Shadow was on Angel Island.

"What are you doing here?" Eclipse asked, blinking a few times in shock.

Shadow came toward and sat down on the edge of the bed, "your kids are worried about you. One came up to the island to get me."

"Who?"

A that, Shadow only shrugged. "Not sure. But he said you're not doing well."

Eclipse thought about lying, about snarling and snapping and telling Shadow to leave, that he didn't need his help. But that was something he would have done when he was younger. Now, things were different. A person couldn't survive all alone.

"Dally and Lilith died," he muttered.

As soon as she said that, something changed in his brother's expression. And then Eclipse was in Shadow's arms, sobbing against his shoulder.

In the village, he had to be strong. He was the leader, the dad, taking care of all his kids. Most of the time, he enjoyed it and didn't mind. But at times like this, Eclipse realized how badly he just wanted his big brother to comfort him, to say kind words and take care of him for once.

Years ago, they wouldn't have been able to do this, the two of them had been so wrapped in fighting over stupid shit. But now, they could just be brothers.

The decades had mellowed Shadow out. He was never going to be a cuddly person who looked for hugs, but he no longer reacted like someone was electrocuting him every time he was touched.

"What happened?" Shadow had known them, after he first adopted them, Eclipse insisted on his kids meeting their new uncle. But it had been a while since he had come to visit.

Eclipse wiped at his eyes, "injury and sickness." His voice broke. "None of them are immortal like we are... they'll all go someday..."

His brother released him, "That will happen," he said quietly. "And it will hurt. But that just means you loved them. And it's better to have those good memories then to not have those moments at all."

Taking a deep breath, Eclipse looked up at him, "you're sure?"

A nod. "I am," Shadow stood up. "C'mon, we can hold a funeral for them and set up a grave site."

That sounded painful, but not having to face it alone made it a bit easier. Being able to bask in the competency of his older brother would soften this painful blow. Swallowing, Eclipse got to his feet. "Can you stay a few days?" That was a hard thing to ask, since Knuckles died, Shadow had taken over watching the Master Emerald, leaving it for long periods of time was not wise.

Shadow patted his shoulder, a look of almost amusement on his face. "Of course. Where else would I be?"

Indigenous Americans did very much breed and develop their own distinct types of dogs but iirc to date there's not much evidence for a separate domestication event of wolves in america. DNA sampling has traced the geographic areas of highest genetic diversity and the likely origin of domestic dogs points to Eurasia. Maybe there could have also been high areas of genetic diversity in america before getting replaced by colonizer's dogs, but genetic analyses of pre-columbian dog remains show closer affinity to eurasian grey wolf and old world dog populations than to grey wolves sampled across the americas.

I definitely believe in the revised narrative of a pre-clovis human presence in the Americas, there could probably be bias in the research but i think all of the oldest precontact dog remains hover around that ~10,000yo mark. it's also possible dogs arrived in a subsequent wave of migration.

im no archeologist though this is just what i've absorbed online, maybe dogs arrived much earlier or even have a new world origin, that would be very cool

Aahhhh... Bigger Than Love... because who doesn't love an Arranged Marriage Trope? 🤭 Let's Get Into It!

So this was Like Real People Do before I had the bright idea to turn it into the absurdly long fest of angst that will end with one single kiss 😅 but it has since pivoted to be what I hope is a fun twist on the Arranged Marriage trope.

It'll be set about 2-3 months post-canon, so feelings are still fresh all around. Wakanda and Talokan are both on the verge of civil war within themselves, and the alliance isn't going exactly the way leadership might've hoped. If you know me, you know I don't believe in doing things the easy way, so Shuri is still mad (and a little homicidal), Namor is unwilling to work with anyone other her, and M'Baku is ready to fully revert Wakanda back to T'Chaka levels of seclusion (Talokan and Western Powers be damned).

In all of this, our leading duo have found themselves as unlikely friends and equally matched sparring partners. There's just one rule though— no politics. They spar in the training arena, by the riverbank, in Okoye's backyard... but under no circumstances do they discuss the growing tensions between their two kingdoms. What happens in the throne room, stays in the throne room.

Until it doesn't of course...

Things are looking bleak for the alliance, and even finding moments to spar has become difficult with the pressures they're both facing. One night, Okoye jokingly suggests a marriage alliance might fix all of their problems. They both laugh it off, but when he's alone, the thought won't leave Attuma's mind. Peace matches are arranged all the time in Talokan; he's the product of one such marriage himself. Would marrying Okoye really be so bad? She may be a surface dweller, but she is the first equal he's met in far too long. But worries still linger: if they do marry, can he accept the potential risk of losing another so dear to his heart?

Okoye keeps trying to convince herself that she was joking. She couldn't possibly be willing to get married again— not after W'Kabi. But the more she thinks about it, thinks about him, the more she finds herself wanting. Her uncle has not relented in his quest to see her remarried, no matter how lacking she finds her suitors. Attuma wouldn't be marrying her for status, or money, or connections to her uncle or the crown. Theirs would be a mutually beneficial arrangment— the treaty could finally be formalized, they'd have peace in both their kingdoms, and maybe, just maybe, Attuma might end up wanting her too.

I've surprisingly enjoyed Daemon's arc this season, but the conclusion felt ... lackluster. I thought that his visions of young Rhaenyra would make him realize how much he has infantilized her and how selfish he has been in prioritizing his own desires over hers. The ones he encouraged her to have. The fact that he only changes his mind after seeing the future in which she is queen and their descendent rejuvenates House Targaryen cheapens that to me. If everything is preordained he doesn't actually have to put any faith or trust in her, just in prophecy
