I don't make it a point to learn choreo, but I can typically pick up the chorus choreo after watching it a few times. vity's groovy, vanner's performer, and ini's hana are ones that I do dance along with in the car

I need to unstan Jinyoung

I've been a Jinyoung stan way back JJ Project debut because I knew he was the cute guy I watched in Dream High 2. I fell in love even more when I found out that he's debuting in a new group called GOT7.

My ex-boyfriend, who was still just my good friend back then, also loved Dream High, JJ Project, and of course GOT7. Long story short, GOT7, particularly Jinyoung, was one of the reasons we got close. We always looked forward to their new songs and we bonded a lot over their music videos and variety show guestings. He knew how much I love Jinyoung and he supported my fangirling. Jinyoung has been a big part of our relationship... Until we broke up.

I continued being a Jinyoung stan and I didn't realize it until today because it felt natural ever since, but everytime I see Jinyoung, I remember my ex. I have Jinyoung's photo as my phone wallpaper, and every single time I look at my phone, I also remember him! The ex! I am reminded of everything about us ㅠㅠ

I think I might have incorporated my feelings for my ex to the way I supported Jinyoung. It's like the love I can no longer give my ex was all channeled to him. And now I realized that the reason I cannot move on from my ex was because of Jinyoung. It's messed up, I know ㅠㅠ

But I really wanted to move on. It's been 5 long years. So, I thought maybe I should lie low as a Jinyoung stan... for now. It literally feels like another break up but I have to do this ㅠㅠ

omg seunghun .... all i can say is he's SUCH a gifted singer. my video isn't very clear bc i was in the feral 21+ section of the theatre you might say with the VVIP tickets but he sang if i ain't got you by Alicia keys and we were all like .... collapsing in our chairs when he was singing and when he finished lmao for his solo set. they're all just incredible performers and i got to get a snapshot with yonghee (i don't know a lot about the members, my friends bought us the tickets and i just told her to get me a snapshot photo for literally anyone who was available) and he's sooooo stunning and shy and sweet and it made me feel a little bit delusional. bae jinyoung is one hell of a performer but mostly really only when he's in the center, I'm still learning abt a lot of the members since i was so casual before but seeing them in concert is making me want to do the deep dive !!!

oh my god, i’m SOOOOO glad i was apparently DEAD ON with my first impression of seunghun, which has just solidified itself over time, and is being proven here once more! like, that really is such a gifted singer and what business does he have to be that good in a group like cix, like for him alone i wish they’d be so much more well known… all that talent hidden AWAY. 😭 singing if i ain’t got you is so vocal lesson 101 too, omg, i cannot help but simply ADORE this man, whenever i see seunghun i just get happy. such a guy. such a VOCALIST!!! and we all know how much i love vocalists. like, he was the first thing that caught my eye and ear about cix, i heard him riff and was like i HAVE to know who this man is.

i just once again realized that the entire group, except for byounggon, is younger than me so maybe that’s why i have a hard time getting into them… that said, they are sooooo fucking talented. i love what i’ve heard of their sound, and especially as performers they seem super talented. i know bae jinyoung is their stan attractor cause he was in wanna one (cause everyone and their mother was in wanna one… nu’est rip hybe you will pay for your crimes, lee daehwi make some noise) but i am pleased to hear that he has the skills to back it up. he really reminds me of a very traditional center in the way that he knows when to shine and when to dial it back. not necessarily a bad thing tbh, we don’t all have to go to the exo kai school of performance, we are not ALL built like that and we don’t have to be!

anyways, i’m soooo glad you had such a great time, and if you’re doing the deep dive, you are always free to hit up my inbox with recommendations or just thoughts, because cix is one of those groups that i feel like deserve way more love but i never quite managed to get into them! also, random but i feel like their songs do not necessarily need raps cause they’re all good singers… another thought i’ve usually had. don’t mind it either way but i wonder if they’ve ever considered to go way more in the direction of highlight/shinee as in prioritizing singing and performing. anyways. thank you!! i hope you have a great night/day/wherever you are!

1. I'm going to see CIX! I still don't think I have fully wrapped my head around it because I cannot fathom it. Like. Me??? Sharing oxygen with CIX??? Buckwild because I will probably hyperventilate. Moving on though, I have got to say I was surprised to see you mention Jinyoung's hands! I was fully expecting the usual "thigh" thirst (so valid btw) but you went with hands. +1 reason to love you sm because my hand kink is a forever problem for me sfjdadda let me find some pics of his hands real quick. For science.

Very pretty hands to be sure. I suppose I've never looked at them properly before because I was expecting them to be large or have long fingers, but they're actually just so pretty and delicate looking. Definitely something special about them. I can see why you'd be worried about staring at them! I will personally be trying not to gawk at Hyunsuk's everything and Seunghun's beautiful smile (+ abs that he keeps talking about... pls show us king I beg).

2. You are preaching to the choir about this oh my god. Pentagon affects me in a way that should just not be allowed. Part of it is because my ult of ults is in this group but really just the ENTIRETY OF THE GROUP is perfection. They somehow radiate a sexy, mature energy that makes you feral while also radiating this pure, childlike energy that makes you want to take care of them and make them so happy. Ugh. I love them. I hate "chores" and I would do their dishes, their laundry, ANYTHING just to see them happy and comfy. And as long as they fuck me stupid regularly I've gotta know who gets to you the most though. Please do tell.

3. Ok I gotta be honest here, I know almost nothing about Kim Wooseok </3 I know his name well and I’ve seen him before (he’s very pretty) but I probably can’t contribute much of substance unfortunately. I DID however look up pictures of his waist for reference and I found these absolute gems on twitter.

I need an opinion on whether or not bana twt is any good? I've followed a few on there and two followed me back lol but I haven't been that deep in bana twt to actually see the discourse/interactions regarding the split and those "ot5/jy forever" tweets. I saw on your answers (I am so sorry if it seems like I'm stalking you but you're literally one of the only ones who show up on tumblr when I search B1A4 hsjdhs) that you don't use twitter but for those who do? Should I do it? I'm doing it half to join once twt and half to join bana twt but only coming back bc I really missed stan twt (marvel b4). Anyways yeah I'm really just letting all of this B1A4 bana energy I've been keeping in and burrowing for so long that I just really want to find my people (cliché lol) and so far bana tumblr seems like the better bet bc it's a small tightknit community where many have solid opinions on the split and have a firm drive to see A3 succeed no matter what huhu I honestly just miss being a cnu bias and I'm glad he has the best intentions for chandeul as their hyung like the way he said in one interview that the songs he writes are for b1a4 and b1a4 only made me think "the shade towards jy omg" but also so soft because his songwriting is finally shining now? I mean I didn't like Nightmare at first listen back in 2016 but revisiting it now (w/o knowing it was cnu who wrote it yet) I found it so well written? Also Seoul? Basically just went through their entire discography in one week the past week and whenever I heard a bop I was so happy to sometimes see cnu in the song credits because the way he wrote/composed them is so full of heart and sincerity like he really puts it all out there and I feel so proud to be a cnu bias since the start like wow I have good taste.

Rambling again omg. But anyways Gongchan's growth from having like 4-6 lines in A Lie to being the opening to many present B1A4 songs is just so cool of cnu to give to him and for Gongchan to let himself have like we have Mr. Falsetto and Mr. OST here but Gongchan is SHINING in Origine like wow I only thought he was visuals back then but the split gave this positive shift to the group tbh. Like for sure I'll miss Jinyoung's hit bops and Baro's very very cool raps (A Lie was so cool I'd honestly do the hand-go-down-beat-drop things in the hwandang part of his rap like wow the power lol) but seeing B1A4 grow with CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan going forward feels just right? Like I can imagine their songs still being hits and them being a legendary "surviving" band if they continue as 5, but the way the 3 of them now just fits? But tbh it's really sad that I don't see much raving about them as much as I did back in A Lie PLUS the fans who are clawing for ot5 like damn please show some respect? The 3 of them are great in their own subunit-style way like I really love seeing them coping with the split (even if it's been 3 years I bet it hit them again when the 10th anniv happened), and the way that you can clearly see CNU trying his best to keep it together and them together for their and the fans' (the real fans) sake. Also I hate how he has to apologize for not being able to keep them as 5 like no please don't carry the burden of the other twos' personal decision like,, I get he's the eldest but it just hurts to see someone blame themself for something that couldn't really be stopped (I read that the two of them brought it up unexpectedly) also about that unexpectedly part the least they could've done was to inform them at least a few months prior?? Like isn't that the meanest thing you could do to people who see you as a brother? Like yeah it might've broken their hearts during a comeback/fanmeet to appear as 5 but know that it won't be the case two months later... so from what I understand, I think we have a closer knit group here on tumblr vs. twitter. I think there's also more overall freedom in expressing opinions here? But I think users @cybercnu and @banacafe are fairly active on twitter and can give you a better idea? (lol sorry Emma and Chrissy to call you guys out haha I just really have no idea what the fandom is like on twitter since I only go on to get updates 😅-- or if anyone else is more active on twitter please feel free to respond for anon!)

But yeah, compared to Jinyoung, I think CNU divides the lines up much more evenly which has been great in allowing Gongchan to really step up and get his much deserved time. They've had so much growth though, so I think a lot of the 'ot5' comments you see on twitter come from the fact that there's more 'casual' fans on there that haven't followed closely the statements that CNU and Sandeul (and Gongchan, to a lesser extent) have made regarding where they stand with the split and how they felt blindsided by it.

There's been a few statements they've made about the 'unexpectedness' of it, Sandeul literally went onto the fancafe within hours of the initial news breaking that he basically was just as confused as the fans and was sorry for not being able to clear things up. And again during the fanmeet before CNU's enlistment-- they expressed how shocked they were with how things turned out so 😕

haha but you're in good company with the 'protect them at all costs' mode we def are all like that here as well lol and I think they'll be going strong now for a loooong time hopefully 🥰

WEEKLY ENCORE 2022 – Week 2 (January 10-16)

Hello Birdies! Hope you had a nice week. It seems our boys did. While not as crazy as the first week, the boys have been keeping themselves, and by extension us busy. What have they been doing you say? Do not worry, I got us covered.

This week we had our anniversary, yes. But before jumping to that, lets visit each boy's week individually.

While keeping relatively quiet, Jay B had a few important moments this week. One of which was sharing his babies photos with us. His adorable little fluff balls seem to be keeping him busy. I can only imagine; my one and only cat is very attention demanding himself. Five cats must be a fun challenge.

Thank you for showing us your cats Jaebeom, we are honored.

This week had a food theme going on from Bambam’s live where he was eating dinner to Youngjae’s mukbang… Bbomdi had a whole night dedicated to food, specifically ramen. It seems he was on a diet but all the talk about food made him hungry.

Bbomdi also said they were thinking of a live on 16th but it was hard to arrange since all of them are in different places, plus the Covid restrictions. He essentially spoiled Bambam’s surprise but it is bbomdi. The only thing he doesn’t spoil is GOT7 comeback much to ahgases disappointment.

JayB also donated 50 Million Won to Goyang City Daycare Center in his hometown through the GreenUmbrella Children’s Foundation. This man has such a golden soul, giving back to the community. It makes my green little heart so proud for stanning him.

Thank you for setting such a good example to us best friend.

Mark revealed release date and title for his next single: it is coming out on 21st. Since none of us knew the title, nor we even thought to Shazam the song, the title is “My Life” and it is depicting a part of his life and hardships. But, as it was with Last Breath, he wrote it in a way that was relatable for everyone.

There is something so delicate about Mark’s lyrics. It always makes me so sentimental.

Jackson.

Talking about personal songs that makes us cry, Jackson just released a song named after himself. The music video and lyrics tell his life story from his fencing days to JYP trainee to idol and Team Wang’s CEO. There are quite touching parts, you have to watch it to see. The animation itself was also so fitting and Jackson’s expression throughout the video is so melancholic.

Jackson was also revealed to be the cover of Cosmopolitan China’s February Issue. He definitely looks stunning in those photos!

We all know Jinyoung likes to ghost us. Last year we lived by pixel Jinyoung most of the days and got one update from him each month. While he seems more active on the social media front this year we still have less information on him than the others. It is okay, we know how busy you are Jinyoung, just remember to sleep too.

However we learned the script reading for Christmas Carol took place in 15th, and from all accounts it seems it was quite emotionally charged. I can’t wait for the actual movie to come out and bawl my eyes out.

Jinyoung also got praise from fellow Hi5 actor Yoo Ah In and the director Kang Hyung Chul as well. There is reports that he got applause on set. Our actor Park has done so much, don’t touch me I am emotional. I can’t wait for what else he has in store for us!

As I said before this week had a food theme going on. The weeks Vlog is Youngjae’s mukbang. The staff arranged quite a few meals and snacks that are popular among mukbang youtubers. I’ll stop here not to give any more spoilers but beware, you’ll feel quite hungry after viewing. Get your snacks ready.

We also got a Coco vlog this week. Talk about cuteness overload! Ahgases are already feeling full and happy this week. There is something so infectious about Youngjae’s warm content just like his laugh, it makes me happy.

For Bambam, as expected he has been quite active on socials. It is Bambam, what did we expect!

It was revealed earlier in the week that Bambam will be the first artists to be futured in Thai documentary “Men in Light”. The show gives insight on artists journey through stardom and their struggles behind the scenes. We are still waiting on the details but this will be another touching if not heartbreaking episode into the boy’s life.

Bambam has been keeping us on our toes with all the revelations. He is endorsing crypto currency Popcoin, and he is still actively posting about the NBA All Star voting for GSW. We also got behind clips for ‘Who Are You’.

Bambam has been quite busy with lives this week, three lives to be exact. He has chatted with fans about his albums and what to expect. During one of his lives an ahgase asked for a bite since he was having dinner. Bambam refused of course, throwing a jab at JayB and his ‘just one bite’s all those years ago living in the same dormitory. Our leader-nim was surprised Bambam still remembered this after so long when an ahgase brought it up during Bbomdi night.

On his last live Bambam also give spoilers on his album, played parts of his songs and even gave us a tiny dance performance. Ever the sweetheart, he also explained everything in three languages: Thai, English and Korean. No ahgase felt left out, he is so precious.

As active as Bambam was, his bestie Yugyeom was quite. We only got a selfie in stories from him. We don’t know what he is working on behind the scenes but we are happy to see him. I hope you are having just as fun as we are with all the content the boys are giving us. don’t forget to rest and take care of your health too.

Now we all know it was anniversary week, everybody was anticipating something. Did the boys deliver? Yes, yes they did. We got our OT7 live. We were all anticipating this, but we were also convinced that we were clowning. Because what is life in Ahga-Land if not clowning every other business day, right?

But we did it, we got our GOT7 live we wanted. For some of us (ahem, me) it was the first time seeing them together in real time. Nonetheless we were all so emotional and internally screaming at seeing Jaebeom go live with Jinyoung on his side, Maknae line joining, Mark hopping from facetime to the live, Jackson trying to live on Bambam’s phone while the mug holding the phone kept failing him.

How was the live you ask? It was chaos, it was fun, it was… something hard to describe with my words.

JayB and Jinyoung kept freezing due to bad connection, maknae line kept laughing at them and making fun, Mark, despite just woken up, looked happy, and Jackson in middle of a schedule halted everything as much as he could.

Each member gave little bit of on what they were working on and a little message to us ahgases; too bad Jinyoung’s was sabotaged by the wifi monster. At this point we are sure that pixel jinyoung is a curse.

While talking about their projects Bambam said he was done spoiling anything about GOT7. Sure Bambam, of course. Just like how we won’t snitch when you do.

After ‘The Live’ JayB, Bambam, Mark and Yugyeom went to Instagram and twitter to post their debut picture, celebrating their 8th anniversary. Youngjae also used the much-debated anniversary hashtag, thus ending all the fight. The boys do bring peace wherever they go, even within their own fandom.

Youngjae also arranged an online fan chat on the morning of the 16th on Universe app.

Jackson also went out to eat rice to celebrate the 8th anniversary.

What can we say, ahgases were well fed and happy by Sunday evening.

— first time i heard of them: my exchange sister introduced me to them in 2017 :)

— when i became i fan: i was a casual listener in 2017 but really got into them in 2018!

— favorite (and least favorite) title track: this is so difficult because so many of their title tracks are so good! but my favorite has to be "not by the moon", and i think my least favorite would probably be "last piece". last piece still goes so hard it was just not nearly as good as breath and doesn't compare to some of their other titles imo

— favorite (and least favorite) bside: okay i developed such a strong emotional connection to "wave" that i HAVE to go with that for my favorite bside. i don't really have a least favorite off the top of my head but i usually end up skipping "Don't care" </3

You Abstain From Alcohol

JB

Okay so I want to start the ball rolling by saying all of the boys would be super understanding that you are t total. They are never gonna force you to do anything you don't want to, because that would make them shitty people and we do not stan shitty people. Anyway, JB would be very curious as to why you abstain from alcohol. When you explain to him that it is because of family reasons then he wouldn't be the type of person to ask any more questions, he'd wait for you to talk freely. JB would definitely be conscious about not drinking in front of you, because he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable.

Mark

Mark is an inquisitive bean, and nothing really gets past him. The first time you went out with him, he noticed that you hadn't been drinking the entire night, and he was a bit worried that it was because you didn't enjoy being there. But when you told him that you don't drink alcohol for personal reasons, Mark would be a little bit shocked. He’d definitely ask you why you agreed to come on a night out with him if you knew that there was going to be alcohol present. “I can still party without alcohol Mark, it's not that hard. Besides, I just wanted to spend time with you…” Well that's one way to have a permanent place in his heart.

Jackson

Jackson is a social butterfly, but I also think that because his image is so important he needs to be very careful about how he acts in social situations. So the fact that you don't really like being around people who drink would prove to be very beneficial for him. Since you guys started dating Jackson hasn't touched a drop of alcohol, and in honesty he kinda loves it. It is doing his health wonders, and the fact that he is always sober means that he won't make mistakes that could be headlines in tomorrow’s newspapers. And it also means that any love he shows you is completely sober thoughts, so you know it's true.

Jinyoung

Jinyoung would be absolutely fine with the fact that you abstain from alcohol, you're a free person and it is your choice. However he might worry about the fact that you don't like to be around people who drink. Korea has a lot of drinking practices, and Jinyoung is expected to follow them. Unfortunately he wouldn't be able to just stop following them, because then he would be seen as very rude. Instead he would make sure that he's always taking a step away from you before he takes a shot or anything. And he's definitely making sure that he is aware of his limits, and knows when to politely decline.

Youngjae

Am I the only one who gets this vibe that Youngjae is not a massive drinker? There’s just something about him that gives off a different vibe to the rest of the boys. So the fact that you have chosen to abstain from alcohol really wouldn’t affect Youngjae like it would the rest of the boys. I’ll let you in on a little secret. Youngjae is secretly glad that you don't like being around people who drink, it means that he can keep you to himself more. Instead of dates where you go out clubbing and drinking, you guys spend the night having takeaway and watching films. Youngjae is much happier with this arrangement.

Bambam

See with Bambam I get this feeling that he is a very big social drinker. Maybe because there is this thing about him that seems like a bit of a party animal. The irony in this whole situation is that would be how you two met, at a party where you are completely sober just minding your own business, and Bambam is standing next to you, very drunk and talking absolute nonsense. If he wasn't so cute you would have ditched him that night. When Bambam finds out that you don't drink, he would really try to cut down on the amount of alcohol that he consumes around you. But then he moans that he can't blame his cringey comments on the alcohol.

Yugyeom

Yugyeom is kinda like Jinyoung in the sense that it would be very hard for him to stop drinking, because to reject a drink is quite rude. You two would be mature adults about this, and you would sit down together and he would explain the meanings around the drinking etiquettes, and you would explain why you don't like being around people who are drunk. You both would come to a very nice agreement that Yugyeom wouldn't drink around you when it is just you two, but if you are out together and someone offers him a drink then you know that he should accept it. It's all about compromise!

My "bias" usually doesn't change and this is applies to other topics as well, I tend to like the similar options, tastes, colours, foods as in the past so I am going to say my "biases" from other favourite groups of mine as well.

I started liking SinB a lot, the whole TWICE is very dear to me, especially Sana.

Astro's Eunwoo, Sanha, Sejun of Victon(Victon as a whole, I cannot choose between them), Yeosang of Ateez are really important to me, not just some biases, in fact, all these groups hold a special place in my heart, there's no one that is superior to the others, I love them all so I cannot really pick because I relate with Victon, Ateez.

♡What MV concept would you like to see?

I would like to see a music video inspired by Shakespeare's "A midsummer night's dream".

Also, scenes inspired by greek mythology, like "Narcissus" from SF9 or "Siren" from Sunmi.

Anything gothic or related to the concept of duality, like the sun and the moon.

Since "The little prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is one of my favourite books and Onewe's "Regulus" is inspired by it, I would absolutely adore to see a K-pop music video based on it.

♡Have you ever had a dream with any idols in it?

I never had a dream with a "celebrity" in it.

I usually dream about reality, people that I know but mostly nightmares.

♡If you could spend a day with a member, who would it be and what would you do?

I would visit a botanical garden with either Seohyun (Girls Generation) or Eunwoo (Astro), then, let them pick what activity they wanted to do cause artists are overworked, they are tired, spending a lot of their day practicing and entertaining so, I would love to see what they would want to do if there was no pressure on them ^^

Why these two people?

Well, I resonate with them a lot, from their way of thinking, to how they act to the fashion style.

It would be an interesting dynamic for sure.

There are other artists that I appreciate too but I would really like to know if I would get along with these two since we are so similar.

Wooyoung from Ateez (and Seonghwa, especially!!!) and Sejun from Victon, maybe Hanse and Subin.

Or Youngjae from GOT7.

Either someone very soft, shy that comes across as a bit strict and rules oriented or a chaotic loud sunshine, someone sarcastic yet cheerful ^^

Jinyoung (GOT7), he is so savage and I think that maybe our personalities would clash cause I am pretty sarcastic as well and I keep a lot to myself, I don't open myself to everyone.

correcting misinformation regarding bts

I watched affectaed’s video the mistreatment of bts and was appalled by the misinformation in it. I posted a comment on the video but I also understand that a lot of baby armys have similar misconceptions, so I thought posting this on tumblr could gain more traction.

When I first got into BTS about three years ago, I found myself ensnared by a ridiculous amount of falsehoods and presented those lies as facts to others. I know that this experience is common and I just want to help others avoid this struggle. The source linked in the video’s description does not cover all the information in this video so I cannot verify credibility but a twitter thread is not exactly the pinnacle of ethos. I try to be as factual as possible by linking all my sources but even then I might get some things wrong here. Please do not hesitate to correct me.

Please do not send this video or this creator any sort of hate, mistakes happen and I highly doubt they had any sort of malicious intent.

"Big Hit wasn't a large company with great connections"

This is partially untrue as, at the time of Big Hit’s founding, Big Hit's CEO and founder Bang Sihyuk was a friend, former employee, and former roommate of Park Jinyoung, the head of the Big 3 company JYP Entertainment. JYP even loaned artists for Big Hit to comanage like 2 AM to help them get on their feet. So although the company was small, they did have rather large connections.

"Their music bashed so many different forms of society and they were trying to thrive with that raw meaning in their music in an industry that was incredibly superficial."

Although partially true, this is a blanket statement clearly intended to discredit and dismiss the Kpop industry as a whole. The generalization renders this entire claim false. Even though they were the minority, many artists did create music with an important message. Back in the 90's, Seo Taiji and the Boys, the first kpop artist, wrote a multitude of socially critical songs like Come Back Home and Classroom Ideas, both of which went on to be covered by BTS. Gain, a member of Brown Eyed Girls, the oldest still active girl group, released Fxxk You, a song addressing rape and domestic abuse, just months after BTS's debut. Yoon Mirae, a rapper RM collaborated with on the song Bucku Bucku, discussed racism on Black Happiness all the way back in 2007. And those are just a few examples. While BTS is absolutely one of the larger artists that brought attention to important issues, they were not the first. 

This is a point regarding the graphic of the music chart at 1:17 (shown below)

It may not have been intentional, but showing this 2015 chart is a bit manipulative considering it was surrounded by details from 2013. I will, however, note that this achievement was still quite impressive considering BTS is one of just two non Big 3 artists on that list.

"BTS were nominated for Rookie of the Year at MNet Asian Music Awards. However, even though they were the best-selling rookie group of that year, MNet refused to give them that award"

Sales success does not automatically entitle an artist to a win. In contrast, BTS won Artist of the Year in 2016 despite EXO having over 600,000 more album sales. To claim BTS deserved to win Rookie of the Year and Artist of the Year would be hypocritical based off of this sales criteria.

“In 2014, a year after BTS debuted, they attended their first real variety show.”

Ignoring the descriptor of a “real” variety show because who can really define a variety show as being “real,” BTS appeared on After School Club on September 25, 2013, over half a year before they attended MNET Beatles Code 3D (the shown variety show). In fact, they appeared on ASC twice before the Beatles Code 3D episode aired (not including Jimin and RM’s appearances the day after the airing).

“BTS won their first Grand Prize award at the 2017 M-net Asian Music Awards”

 This is completely, blatantly false. BTS won their first Grand Prize, better known as a Daesang, in 2016 at MMA for Album of the Year for their album HYYH: Young Forever.

”As the industry came to realize that there was no stopping BTS, a lot of agencies tried to buy them from Big Hit Entertainment.”

I do not actually know if this is wrong because I’m having a lot of trouble finding any sources for this claim.

”SM Entertainment bought the boy group Infinite as soon as they started to become a threat to their boy group EXO.”

SM did not buy Infinite, they merged with Infinite’s company Woollim.

”The Kpop industry had no part in BTS’s success considering how they were the ones trying so hard to shut them out.”

The words “no part” render this statement entirely false. I find it appalling that, so quickly after (rightfully) bashing SM for reducing the KPop industry to a series of generalizations, this video turns around and generalizes the Kpop industry as hungrily claiming credit for BTS based on Lee Sooman’s comments. That is textbook hypocrisy. Additionally, it is outright false. Yes, the industry did significantly hinder BTS’s success, but it did not have “no part” in BTS’s rise. A majority of BTS’s original fans, the ones who got the group off the ground, were established Kpop stans and products of the industry that supposedly did nothing for them. More than that, BTS was on award shows early in their career when most artists never get to perform at any award shows. They performed at 2013 MMA mere months after debut. They even had a massive collaboration stage with Block B, a huge group (who were friends with RM predebut), in 2015. More than that, BTS won several best new artist/rookie of the year awards in their very first year. That’s more than countless other artists receive in their entire lives.  So even though the industry wasn’t exactly kind to BTS, they absolutely played a part in their success by granting them a platform on some of the biggest stages in Kpop exceptionally soon after debut when considering their company’s small size.

Not all of the information in this video is incorrect but there are some egregious errors that undermine the point of this video which is that BTS suffered a lot on their rise to the top. Which is true. BTS has the most incredible underdog story in KPop. They are my role models and have gotten me through the toughest moments in my life for years. But that doesn’t mean we can just invent struggles, not when they had so many legitimate ones. In 2016 alone, there was EXOLs mass petitioning that took down the Blue House website after BTS’s MMA win; there was the Black Wave at MMA and GDA; and then there was the infamous May “Terror” Month. All of these moments were results of targeted harassment (although there is some debate over what really happened at GDA) and are entirely factual.

a/n : i really don’t know why i’m writing this because i’m vegetarian HAHAHA (fellow vegetarians or vegans i’m so sorry) but i thought of it while watching the show law of the jungle! it’s a korean tv show where different celebrities (a mix of idols, actors, athletes, models, etc) go somewhere in the world with the “chief” kim byungman and survive however they can by battling the environment, building their own shelters, and catching their own food. this specific scenario is inspired by law of the jungle in patagonia! the show is really fun, i highly recommend if you are interested in survival in the wild. also, reader is a celebrity, obviously, but it’s up to you what kind of celebrity you are!

“oh no…” you whined. after eating nothing but wild berries and wild berry jam the whole time you were in patagonia with the tribe, you were exhausted, discouraged, and absolutely starving. you were sitting next to the fire, making more jam with the wild strawberries you picked when the hunting team came back. the chief and kangnam held a net in their hands, most likely holding some type of fish or sea creatures, while jinyoung held some sort of bird in her hands and bravely led the other three men towards your shelter.

being crazy hungry, you thought you’d have to wet your lips and stop yourself from drooling if the hunting team did come back with your next meal. but instead of drool, all you got were shivers down your spine. your heart broke when you saw the bird flapping around in jinyoung’s grasp. it had probably come from the trap you helped the chief and the others set up earlier that morning. the poor thing…

“(name), you’re hungry, aren’t you?” yoon park asked you.

“yes, i really am,” you replied with a nervous laugh. you didn’t want to show that you were upset after all the hard work the tribe had gone through to catch food to feed each other. you were unbelievably grateful, but the bird just looked so scared.

the whole tribe erupted into cheers. “hey, (name), you can continue making the jam and we can eat it with the turkey!” jinyoung said. you nodded and smiled. everyone looked so excited, and you didn’t wanna bring the mood down by expressing your sadness over an animal’s life being taken. you never felt this way when you ordered chicken at home, but having to be a witness to the actual killing part made you feel sick.

the chief and the others went off to start gutting the turkey and the trout to get them ready for your meal. you continued cooking the jam and winced as you tried your hardest to ignore the turkey’s cries for help. you made eye contact with the law of the jungle staff, and they chuckled at your distressed expression. you couldn’t help but chuckle back. why were you acting like this?

“it’s gruesome,” you said, making eye contact with one of the camera directors. he nodded in response, sympathizing with your feelings.

you felt a presence near you, and looked up to see bang chan from stray kids watching you make the jam. he had a fish skewered through a stick and you tried not to look at it as you patted the spot next to you, inviting him to sit. you were on good terms with everyone in the tribe, but you had the least chances to speak with bang chan out of all 6 of your tribe members, so you were still curious about him. especially since he was the youngest out of all the men in the tribe.

“i have a dog named berry,” he told you with a smile as he pointed at the jam you were making. “do you have any pets?”

“i have a fish,” you said with a blank expression, looking at the dead chilean trout on the stick he was holding.

“ohhhh…” chan said awkwardly, glancing down at the fish he was holding. “i’m sorry.”

“no, no, it’s fine.” you grinned.

“oH MY GOSH IT’S SO BLOODY-“ you heard kyunghwan shout. chan laughed next to you.

“kyunghwan sunbaenim looked so funny trying to get the turkey out of the trap, you should’ve seen-“ chan turned towards you and saw how disturbed you looked. “hey, (name), are you okay?” he saw your eyes get watery and a worried expression appeared on his face immediately. why were you acting like this? you kept asking yourself why you had to ruin the mood like this.

“i’m sorry, i was excited to finally get some food other than berries, and i feel bad being upset when everyone is so happy. i guess i just didn’t expect the real thing to be this… sad to me,” you explained. chan nodded understandingly, which you appreciated. you made eye contact with the dead fish and shuddered as he placed the small trout on the makeshift grill that the chief had made, being nice and tactless enough to move the grill as far away from you as possible.

“WHY DOES THIS TURKEY HAVE FAT RAMEN NOODLES FOR INTESTINES?” kyunghwan shouted again and you groaned, making chan giggle cutely.

“i feel so guilty…” you pouted.

“it’s okay,” he reassured you. “it’s nothing to feel guilty about. it’s not easy to handle, no matter how hungry you are.” chan placed a comforting hand on your parka-covered shoulder, and you thanked him as you took the pot of jam off the fire and placed it on the ground. “circle of life, right?”

“circle of life,” you repeated back to him, starting to feel a little better.

“(name), does your pet fish have a name?”

you and chan talked for a few minutes, getting to know each other until the rest of the tribe came over with the freshly gutted turkey and the other trout. you winced again.

“the jam is ready, so (name) and i are gonna go get more sticks for the fire if that’s okay,” chan said. the chief nodded, immediately realizing that you were uncomfortable watching the animals, and sat down to cook them. “don’t worry, i gotchu.” chan smiled as he patted your back, standing up and offering you his hand.

you felt extremely grateful for the kind boy, and got up to go collect more sticks with your new friend, starting to actually look forward to your first real meal in days.

a/n : yay! my first work on this blog! i kind of lost motivation to write without even having written anything, but i finally started to get some ideas. this one was really short and kind of a mess of an idea, but i am working on a longer work, possibly one with chapters. please look forward to it, especially you sky castle fans (the kdrama!) and you hyunjin stans! 💕
