Pt2 to this post

Steve wakes up to a true mountain of deafening noise right underneath his window. He groans; the sun hasn't even fully set yet, and when he glances at his alarm clock, he sees that it's only 7:50. What the hell is going on?

Then, he hears the screaming – or singing, Eddie always gets mad when he calls it screaming – and jolts up in his bed. He wonders if he's still dreaming.

“You, with the sad eyes

Don't be discouraged”

'What the fuck?' he mutters under his breath as he basically lets himself fall out of bed and opens his curtains.

And there they are: not just Eddie, but his whole band with him, playing a completely surreal metal cover of one of the most cheesy pop songs ever made.

Steve can only stare, completely dumbstruck, as Eddie screams his way through the lyrics at the top of his lungs.

“I see your true colors, and that's why I love you”

He sees his neighbors' curtains on the other side of the road wobble suspiciously, but he doesn't even care about that. All he cares about is Eddie underneath his window, throwing his all into the performance, dramatically dancing around with his guitar and singing without any shame.

“Your true colors are beautiful like a rainbow”

He drags out the last syllable with a growl and lets Gareth end the song with a completely over-the-top drum fill.

'Steve Harrington!' Eddie shouts after the last low bass tone dies out, with his hands around his mouth for extra dramatics. 'Roses are red, your ass is damn fine! Will you be my Valentine?!'

Steve can't help but laugh at that. He doesn't say anything, but steps away from the window to race down the stairs. When he opens his front door, still wearing only his boxers and an old swim t-shirt, Eddie is already running towards him over the lawn with an inhumanly huge bouquet in his hands.

Steve catches him as he crashes into him full-force, getting the flowers slightly crushed between them.

'I'm sorry for yesterday,' Eddie says in a breathy voice. 'I was being a total dick. So we decided to move the band practice a couple hours – and a couple streets.' He shoots Steve a sheepish grin as he presents the flowers to him with a bow. 'The stores weren't open yet, so I got these from some of your neighbors' gardens. I think the ones at number 14 saw me. I'm pretty sure they still think I'm a devil-worshipping murderer because they looked terrified.'

Steve carefully places the bouquet on the drawer behind him in the hall so that he can finally embrace Eddie properly. He wraps him tightly in his arms, taking in his familiar scent and placing a kiss in the nape of his neck.

'Of course I'll be your Valentine,' he tells Eddie. He doesn't even care about what happened the other day anymore – the goddamn serenade and the stolen flowers are plenty to make up for that.

Eddie smiles at him so widely that Steve almost gets concerned his face will split in two.

'Good, because I have a whole day planned out for us. You should get dressed, put on some warm clothes, we –'

'Are you wearing a button-up?!' Steve interrupts him, suddenly completely distracted. It's an all-black button-up with tiny silver skulls as buttons, but still. Definitely a button-up.

Suddenly, Eddie is looking shy. 'Found it in the back of my closet,' he admits. 'Back from when I had to go to this wedding a couple years back. I was surprised it still fits.'

In all honesty, it fits Eddie barely, but Steve isn't one to complain about that...

'It looks amazing on you,' Steve says with a smile. 'Eddie-chic. I love it.'

When Steve is all dressed and ready to go, he lets Eddie wrap him into a big scarf and drive him to whatever it is that Eddie has planned for him.

They stop at the ice rink at the edge of town.

Steve grins at Eddie. 'You really outdid yourself today. Cyndi Lauper, flowers, ice skating...'

'Oh, and that's only the beginning,' Eddie says, wiggling his eyebrows. 'Ready to show me what you got, big boy?'

Ice skating turns out to be the perfect date: it's the kind of crisp winter day that makes for ideal ice skating weather, and they get to hold hands under the pretense of Eddie being afraid to fall (even though he's actually surprisingly graceful on the ice).

'I got something for you,' Eddie says when they're warming up at the side of the rink with two huge mugs of hot chocolate with whipped cream. He pats himself down, rummages around in his pockets for a while, then hands Steve a slightly crinkled cigarette pack that seems to be empty.

'What's this?' Steve asks, a confused smile tugging at his lips.

Eddie raises his hands in an apologetic gesture. 'Again, the stores weren't open yet, so it was either robbing the jeweler or improvising with what I had at home,' he says.

Steve tilts the pack above the palm of his hand and a ring falls out. It's not at all a fancy one: it's made of some kind of dull metal, a broad band engraved with a slightly uneven triangle pattern. Steve studies it attentively.

'It's one of my old ones, from before I upgraded to the bigger ones,' Eddie explains. An unsure look crosses over his face. 'I know it isn't really your usual style, and it's kinda shit quality, so you don't have to wear it, and I can get you something new when –'

'Eddie,' Steve interrupts him. He reaches his hand out – the one that isn't holding the ring – and squeezes Eddie's. 'I love it. And I love that it used to be yours. Makes it even more perfect.' He slips it around his ring finger and is surprised to find out that it actually fits him perfectly. 'Thank you,' he says earnestly.

After they've had their fill of ice skating, they continue their date at the petting zoo, where they hang out with the fluffiest sheep Steve has ever seen in his life – and where Eddie gets adorably excited upon discovering that there's a shed full of bats' nests, even though there's not really that much to see there.

Then, Eddie drives Steve to the cinema for a special Valentine's screening of Sixteen Candles, which Eddie had always made a point of categorically refusing to ever watch in his life, no matter how hard Steve tried to convince him that it's genuinely a good movie. They're on the very last row, surrounded by straight couples, and in the darkness it feels safe enough to hold each other's hands through the whole movie.

After the movies, they end up in a warm and cozy corner of the tearoom downtown. The place is filled with couples that only have eyes for each other, which makes it relatively easy for the two of them to sit much closer and touch each other a little bit more than they'd usually do in public while they drink liters of the disgusting bright-pink “Valentine's Day Special” tea.

Around dinner time, Eddie brings him to Enzo's. Steve had suggested going there for a date night once or twice before, but Eddie always held that off, saying it was too fancy for him and he'd be stressed the whole night. And he does look out of place, even in his button-up shirt, but Steve helps him pick the right fancy wine and patiently guides him through the proper use of cutlery, and sometime during the main course, he visibly starts to relax.

'You know I would never wanna make you go here, right?' Steve says. 'I would've been just as happy to go to the burger place.'

'I know,' Eddie says. 'I just wanted to go somewhere Valentine-appropriate.'

Steve feels Eddie's foot nudge his underneath the table.

'I just – I wanted everything to be right for you, Steve. I'm sorry for yesterday. I should've realized that this shit is important to you.' He pauses for a moment. 'I don't really know how to do this, you know,' he continues, in an even softer voice. 'The whole relationship thing, I mean.'

There's a vulnerable look in Eddie's brown eyes, but Steve smiles, gently pushes his foot against Eddie's.

'You're doing a pretty great job, love,' he says.

'Got one more surprise for you,' Eddie tells him when they get to the trailer. He unlocks the door – Wayne is away for his night shift – and swings it open with a grand arm gesture.

'Tadaaa!'

'What the hell, Eddie?!' Steve shouts out.

Eddie's face drops. 'Not really the reaction I was expecting...'

'This is a total fire hazard, dude! You can't do that and then leave for the whole day! You could've burned the whole fucking trailer park down!'

The excited twinkle is back in Eddie's eyes. 'Relax, Stevie, I let Max set it up about an hour ago. She'd keep an eye on the place 'till we'd get back.'

Steve lets out a relieved sigh, relaxing into the touch of Eddie's hands on his shoulders. He has to admit that it does look beautiful: the whole trailer is covered in the soft shine of candlelight and there's even heartshaped confetti scattered all over the floor.

'Come with me.' Eddie grabs his wrist and Steve lets himself be guided towards the bedroom, which is covered in even more candles and pink confetti.

Something in the atmosphere changes when Eddie turns around to stare at him with those beautiful, huge eyes of his. Steve swallows. They're all alone in a romantically lit bedroom, on Valentine's Day, and Steve can hardly wait to let his fingers wander over Eddie's very tight button-up and unwrap that last present, skull-button by skull-button.

But Eddie steps away from him and turns around. 'Just one moment,' he mutters, pressing some buttons on his radio until the intro of Lionel Richie's Say You, Say Me fills the room. Eddie turns back around with a wide grin on his face. 'I made you a mixtape.'

Eddie's face is pale in the candlelight, dark curls casting shadows over his cheeks.

Steve steps forward, wraps his arms loosely around Eddie's waist.

'You made me a Valentine's Day mixtape filled with cheesy pop music?' he asks in a soft voice.

Eddie nods, eyes wide, and Steve gently brushes their lips together.

'Fuck, you're perfect,' he whispers against Eddie's skin. He's close enough to hear Eddie's breath catch, and he moves his lips across Eddie's cheek towards his ear. 'I love you. This was the perfect Valentine's Day.'

Eddie hums, leaning into Steve's soft touches like he's a cat. 'It's not over yet, you know,' he murmurs in a low voice.

'Good,' Steve whispers back. ''Cause there's only one thing I wanna do while listening to that mixtape of yours.'

What was it that made you a Charles fan last year?

Hey! So my first exposure to F1 was through a few friends here who were very much into F1 and big Lewis fans. I didn't really know anything about Charles till I watched DTS in August I think because I was curious about what the whole hype was about.

The last season they had shown on DTS back then was 2022 and as sensationalised as the whole thing might have been, I was actively rooting for Charles to win the WDC while watching the show. I really liked his passion towards racing and the whole mythos surrounding Ferrari as a team. It seemed like something that was genuinely worth rooting for.

So then I checked the results of the latest race around that time which was Monza. I was hoping that Ferrari has finally got their shit together. As they were in contention for the WDC last year, I assumed that they would have learnt from their mistakes and built a car that was able to challenge Red Bull as they obviously had the technology and skills to build a car that was fast. Charles had come P4 iirc and I was like maybe that isn't so bad after all. But then I checked the results of the rest of the season and well, we all know how that went lol.

Singapore 23 was the first F1 race that I ever watched and I think that a Ferrari win gave me slightly unrealistic expectations about how competitive they could be. However, that race was also a Ferrari strategy disasterclass and I was just sitting there wondering how the hell Charles was staying with a team that couldn't handle two drivers being competitive at the same time.

Over the rest of the season I watched Charles drag the SF-23 to the front row multiple times and that was something that was impressive to me. Yes he wasn't able to match the Red Bulls in racepace. But even coming P1 in qualy is something that isn't easy. I can't imagine Max not wanting to start P1 even if he knows he has better race pace and can make up the positions later in the race. And it wasn't like Carlos was able to get the same results from the car.

Multiple people say that Max is what makes the difference as a driver in Red Bull, it's not just the car. Similarly it is Charles who was making the difference in Ferrari and not Carlos. The funny thing is that he was getting absolutely slaughtered for it by the media which is just?????? Any other driver was being hailed as a miracle for being able to challenge Max at all but when it was Charles it was somewhat taken to be a foregone conclusion. The bias was astounding.

Las Vegas as a race genuinely impressed me not just because Charles came P2 but his attitude throughout the entire race. Despite the fact that Max had won the championship at that time he still wanted to win the race and I don't think it was just wishful thinking on his part - he genuinely believed that he could win it. Looking at other driver's interviews throughout the season, I always got a sense of inevitability. That no matter what they do it's going to be Max who wins. Also if Max would overtake them once over the race it was over. Not many people would think they could challenge him again. But in Vegas, Charles kept trying multiple times and it was that tenacity that impressed me. He didn't settle for P3. He overtook Max just before he pitted the first time and overtook Checo on pure race pace on the last corner and that is something that showed me that he was a driver worth rooting for because he's not afraid to take that extra risk.

Also, in one of the end of the season interviews a reporter asked him how it felt to finish ahead of his teammate and his answer was that none of it mattered if he wasn't finishing first in the WDC. Now that's what a winning mentality is. I don't know how anyone can say that he's not serious about being a world champion when he keeps saying things like that.

Also, Charles also seemed to be a genuine team player with how he was trying his best to help get Ferrari P2 in constructors last year. To me it did showcase a fair amount of maturity and growth and being selfless enough to look out for the team instead of just himself as an individual.

Also all the fan interactions that I would see on social media were overwhelmingly positive which is a huge green flag in my books because at the end of the day not all celebrities are kind to their fans. But Charles always seemed to make an active effort to be polite and kind and just not take that love for granted if you know what I mean? Lastly, it's obvious that his fellow drivers respect him so much. He's someone who is considered to be both a safe and fast racer which isn't something that you see a lot.

Ultimately, he's a tiofoso and a Ferrari driver who wants to win the championship and I think that's something that's worth supporting. I also don't think he's just blindly loyal to the team and it's all just emotion. He has been firm enough to put his foot down where it actually matters like getting Fred at TP and classy enough to not be messy in the media. 26 is not old enough to even consider him being washed. Ferrari has given him one of the longest contracts ever for a reason. And I personally don't think he has reached his full potential as a driver yet. I can't wait to see what happens when he does. So yes the season as a whole wasn't the best for Charles but I see great potential in him and I intend to stick around to see him live up to it :)

uyguyiuyg I wouldn't call my previous posts on them an analysis since it was 100% fueled by made up scenarios, but my friend showed me two very small canon panels of them in the same room recently and now I can do an actual analysis of them! (Albeit, a very very short one.)

Right off the bat, is easy to tell Akane dislikes Natsuhiko, he got his arm crossed, the frown, the clear distance. He doesn't need to say a single thing, you can feel his disapproval even in the low-resolution panels.

This boy isn't vibing.

I am assuming this is the first time they've seen each other, cause no one seems to know Natsuhiko. He is just a 'hot senpai' as Aoi had put it.

The background girls also don't call him by name, asking Natsuhiko something as basic as what year he was from. So despite being the kind of person whose looks would get him popular easily, he isn't recognized by anyone in the most rumor crazy class of Kamone School. (which is suspicious as hell, it feed my believe he is not a student at all)

So considering this seems to be Akane and Natsu's first meeting, and they don't seem to have spoken with each other, I'm impressed by how quickly Akane decided "oh yeah this boy is shit''.

As for Natsu, he is only focusing on fetching Nene and flirting with the girls here, he doesn't seem to have even registered this random dude visibly disapproving of his flirty behavior, so is hard to tell what he would think about Akane if he actually noticed him. But I personally don't think his reaction would be as strong.

in my opinion I don't think the shinsengumi would of had the right to be placed in the four devas arc because that arc is mainly focused on kabukicho, the people who live there and it's four devas. The four devas run their city full of outlaws and already have their own yakuza who "maintain order" so I don't think the shinsengumi would of fit in that arc because they would of interfered in business that wasn't their own. So honestly no they wouldn't of had space to appear sadly

But I do think if they at least added Hijikata, Sougo, Yamazki and Kondou in the kintama arc it would of been interesting!!!

I know Kintoki would of ate mayo to gain hijikata's loyalty, plus Hijikata would of definitely still got of on the wrong foot "meeting" gintoki for the "first time" again.

but yeah the I think the shinsengumi would've had the space to appear in the kintama arc because I know they would be amazing in the fight against kintoki because Gintoki has already helped each of them out, the bond they have with him would of been one they wouldn't of hesitated to fight for :)

My favorite song by Tally Hall has to be ‘Spring and a Storm’.

Around the time I first started listening to it, I had first started talking to my partner @satisfiedskye .

Granted, it was really the first time I started listening to them period. But that song, really struck a cord with me /positive.

I had this animatic in my head for a OC I had for their universe. My oc Percy was originally made for that universe (long before Batman lol). She was a mother of two who had gone through a mutation due to radiation, and sought out Skye’s OC for help. My little pea brain was like “omg what if I shipped her with him that would be so crazy”

And I did, in my MIND.

Because of the story my partner had laid out for their character, my oc and her oc couldn’t really be canon, but it was something we enjoyed nonetheless amongst ourselves.

Anyways, the song.

It played out in my head like she was trying to find him in a storm. In more ways than one, not only does this connect to the characters, but it connects to me and my partner as well. I used to think that Tally Hall’s song ‘Haiku’ was more about us, but I realize that’s not the case. ‘Spring and a Storm’ to me is something hopeful. It’s about battling struggles. Something me, and the character were going through at the same time (excuse me for my self indulgence).

For the animatic itself, considering that it sounds like a STORM. The beat, the tempo, the pacing…as you listen, it begins to FEEL like the sound of hard falling rain.

Then it’s calm for a moment.

Then back to intense downpour.

This was the initial idea for the animatic. Her walking through a wooded area as it starts to drizzle. Various parts of her life flashing the more she walks, the cracking of lightening at somepoint makes her pace faster, as if she’s following the storm. Then there’s a clearing, it’s peaceful. She THINKS she sees her children, but as she approaches, a crack of lighting hits a tree beside her, causing her to start running.

By the end of the animatic, she finds the place shes looking for, laying on the steps of the porch, just as Skye’s character is walking outside.

That was just a base premise, and I have no idea if I’ll ever go through with this animatic idea. But someday when I have the energy, I’d love to work on it. For now, I’m advancing the character into the Batman universe (and possibly altering her character SLIGHTLY for my partners own universe) where I have more stories to tell and share with her/them.

tbh im no expert on starting on tumblr hehe. i started almost a year ago (aug ‘22) and tbh i started just bc i got an itch to write again and specifically for f1 and i knew the community existed so i just tried it out really !

ive been very lucky to have made mutuals w some really sweet people and tbh its all about reaching out and interacting ! i loved reading other ppls works and appreciating them (reblogs, tags, comments). its a perfect way to make connections. also i would say to not be shy and to reach out to the accounts you like (it helps if you wanna talk about a common interest, their posts, etc to ease into it) ! everybody ive talked to so far even if its in passing is so sweet. my dms are also always open if anybody wants to start a chat <3

as for writing ive been writing on and off since middle school, but ive always loved language and literature class. i would say a good way to start writing is to first read what you enjoy and the writers you enjoy. once you have kind of a grasp i would say to always just start giving it a go ! there are so many prompts available on tumblr as well as accounts giving writing tips. two accounts i can recommend are @corvase (for prompts and tips) or @novelbear (for prompts) !

for more technical-ish tips i sometimes search up words in the thesaurus, google way things are described, to get a better grasp as to what i want to say and how i want to say it. i also write differently depending on what i want to say/convey.

writing takes time and this includes your style, the way you express yourself, so don’t limit yourself (also your writing at first might not be the same as you envision it but its okay! you slowly get there).

sometimes, writing is also about patience, i have so many times taken countless of hours to write things to finally get it to where i want (and sometimes i dont get there at all).

at the end of the day writing should also be for your own enjoyment so take your time and write what makes you happy <3

idk if these tips are the best, but i do hope they help at least a bit, as always my dms are always open for a chat 🥹
