in firefox you can use youtube extensions to: disable ads, reenable the dislike button, and block videos or entire channels from showing up in the search results.
you can also use an extension call tree style tabs which is the best damn thing since sliced bread for anyone who keeps a bunch of tabs open.
PLUS, there are many extensions for dyslexia and general ease of reading.
ADDITIONALLY, it is a more secure browser over all. It keeps your cookies seperate from each other and if you turn on the master password feature, you can lock down your saved passwords even if someone gets into your computer.
FURTHERMORE, your saved passwords can update between multiple devices because they're encrypted (makes sure to generate your reset key and put it somewhere safe cuz if you forget your mozilla account password, it nukes your passwords to keep you safe and this is a good thing i promise, i work IT.)
AND LASTLY, your boommarks are accessible between linked devices, and you can send a tab directly from one device to the other.
The most popular browsers in different countries in 2012 and 2022.

Guys how do I make a post about the fact that the outcome of the Haruka Suicide situation only goes to send the message that disabled people are inherently expendable while also making it very clear that I think it's really dumb to assume things about someone's moral compass based on how they vote in an anime music project while also also making it clear that Milgram is a piece of media meant to criticize the audience for their decisions and the consequences for them and what that ultimately says to the characters and narrative as a whole?
#tw: suicide#{ ⚖️ after knowing all I wonder. can you really forgive them? 👁️}#milgram#milgram project#haruka sakurai#sakurai haruka#milgram haruka#it's weird cause like I think it's something that should be talked about#especially given the reasons why concern for Haruka was so easily thrown away in the first place basically being down to (to my knowledge)#“this high school girl is a super horrible person and must be condemned and punished”#But it can very obviously be interpreted the wrong way and I want to approach the subject with as much open-mindedness as I can#Cause the last thing I want to do is sound like those people who are like “you are clearly abc because you voted this character xyz”#because I think those people are stupid and I don't want to be like that#Am I overthinking this? I dunno I haven't gotten any sleep

it is genuinely amazing sometimes, to interact with other people and then have your brain light up with joy. I mean---you're telling me that I spent the last couple weeks mired in ennui, generally full of malaise, and this whole time I was looking for a long, rambly conversation with 3-5 people, punctuated with laughter and asides, about why you might enjoy a plot-driven vs. a character-driven novel??
what incredible bullshit. how has science not cured this yet.
#once again very disgruntled to discover I am subject to the human condition#celestial emporium of benevolent knowledge

ugh my cousin is a med student and she keeps complaining about the workload and i could feel sorry for her but she keeps bringing up stuff like very complicated words, like elements of anatomy that a regular guy would just never hear of and all that stuff, during her complaining so it feels like shes just trying to complain and show me just how much dumber i am cause i dont know this stuff 🙄
#idk it feels like shes doing it on purpose cause why else would she CONSTANTLY bring up these subjects when shes talking to me like#i have no fucking idea what shes talking about#so it feels like shes just making fun of how stupid i am or how little knowledge i have#idk i have no interest in this stuff so its mostly just annoying cause i feel like shes being kinda mean by using me to make herself feel#smarter idk#WHY else would she use one billion buzzwords man i know she doesnt want me to ask about them or anything its just meeaaannnn :^(

I will not speak to AI art as a disability accessibility tool but I WILL say that most of the arguments about AI making art 'accessible' aren't about providing assistance to the disabled but rather making it more 'accessible' to break into the art market and make a boatload of money without having to. yknow. learn how to make art or anything about the creative workflow
#spitblaze says things#i am not speaking on it as accessibility tool bc im not disabled and frankly dont have enough knowledge on the subject#to come to a good conclusion#but i can say with some certainty that the most vocal supporters of ai art are all grifters. so#anyway its funny that they think that art is such a lucrative moneypit of a field#none of us are here because we think we're gonna be rich lmao

Usually, even a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other elements of this world, about the motion and orbit of the stars and even their size and relative positions, about the predictable eclipses of the sun and moon, the cycles of the years and the seasons, about the kinds of animals, shrubs, stones, and so forth, and this knowledge he holds to as being certain from reason and experience. Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking non-sense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn. The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of the faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men. If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books. For then, to defend their utterly foolish and obviously untrue statements, they will try to call upon Holy Scripture for proof and even recite from memory many passages which they think support their position, although "they understand neither what they say nor the things about which they make assertion."
St. Augustine, De Genesi ad Litteram, emphasis mine
#listen. i know some theistic evolution proponents like to point to this text and try to claim Augustine as one of ours#and i know that's disingenuous#he was writing in the fifth century for crying out loud#what i AM saying (and what many who mire discerningly point to this text are saying i think)#is that it's important to consider the how Christian knowledgeablity and intellectual honesty is viewed by the secular world#for every YE creationist proclaiming that the fossil record is unreliable#there's someone with knowledge on the subject scratching because they know that's simply not true#and subsequently writing Christianity off as a religion of dogmatism and ignorance#now listen. this isn't to say that Christians shouldn't hold controversial positions regardless of what the world says of them#but if you're going to hold those positions around secular folks who may be open to the gospel#you had darn well better think about how you're representing Christ and His Church#that's how I read this passage#and I see it as a serious warning to anyone (me) who wants to talk about Scripture and the mechanics of the natural world in the same breath#all truth is God's truth#pontifications and creations#these tags are riddled with typos but fixing them would be a real pain sorry

Believe victims, sure, but also question serious allegations toward one of the most prominent Jewish celebrities made in the midst of some of the worst global antisemitism in decades. A Jewish celebrity who has had no allegations or even bad words said about him in his near forty years of public life. Not one thing. It is suspicious.
Oh believe me, I've already seen people bring up his "zionism"
not against you anon, but I will say he has done problematic things in his past, like racefail '09 and his marriage to amanda palmer

Y'all listen just because you learned something in school doesn't mean everyone else did. idk how y'all got this idea in ur heads that we all learned the same shit when literal book bans are happening in schools across the united states and certain subjects are being banned from ever being talked about. (do not even get me started on the fact different countries have different curriculum too) Like you cannot say "You guys obviously just didn't pay attention in school and are stupid because we all learned this" like you are ignoring like 50 other options as to why people may not have learned this ranging from poorly funded school to disabled kid getting shoved into special ed classes which are often notorious for mistreating their disabled students. I'm begging you all to understand the nuance of why certain skills and abilities aren't as widely spread as you assume they should be.
#text#some of you are creeping a bit to close to ablism and it's getting real ucomfortable#'everyone learned media literacy in school' except in the schools where they just told you what to think.#except in the schools where they didn't want you to learn critical thinking so that they could push an agenda without you questioning it#except in schools where books or subjects that would require this skill got banned and thus it was never learned#unless the school was underfunded and couldn't afford the proper materials to teach it#unless your teacher was bad and didn't bother to properly teach you#unless your teacher and school was ablist and refused to teach you#unless your schooling was disrupted by a sudden pandemic that may of forced you into an environment that made it more difficult to learn#unless literally anything else besides 'you didn't listen and are thus stupid' because i can assure you we were listening#maybe instead of blaming a huge portion of the population of suddenly becoming stupid or not paying attention in class#maybe you could realize that this is a failure on the American school system as a whole#at some point you can't keep blaming the students for failing when it's this many students#at some point you gotta realize it's the system and blaming the individual does nothing#btw i didn't talk about other country curriculum because I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how good other school systems are#but i know more about american school systems and how much they suck and so many of these ppl complaining mean american schools anyways#but i am aware of other countries having wide variety of curriculum and how weird ppl get about that especially with usa centrism online#i just dont feel like i can give a good enough commentary on that that other non-usa ppl haven't already given 10x better than i ever could

My favorite genre of book is the “list book,” where the contents are essentially one long, cut-and-dry list of information, organized in alphabetical order with no embellishments whatsoever, other than diagrammatic pictures which show the meaning of something. This includes dictionaries in English, foreign language-to-English dictionaries, encyclopedias on various subjects, toxic chemical transportation handbooks for truckers, etc.
#I — like my great grandmother — read the dictionary for fun so much I became a walking encyclopedia#It stands to reason that whatever is wrong with me runs in the family ABSBDJDNDJDKD#I have no interest in stargazing through a telescope; but do I have an extremely detailed book about how to photograph our Sun? Yes.#Because I like to know things about a broad range of subjects so I am prepared for when I am in a situation that requires knowledge#No information is useless information. Even if it doesn’t seem like it applies it may spark creativity in another area#For instance: knowing how to draw enabled me to do art tutorials for a bunch of emotionally-impaired children#to have them all sitting at the same table peacefully learning a trade instead of smashing each others’ skulls in like they usually did#And you’d be surprised how well infodumping a bunch of random facts about Latin and Hebrew linguistics can deescalate violence

Screaming about the fact that 'I do' is about Alyah because what Reneé is describing is literally queerplatonic feelings like oh my god I'm dying here.
This is the bit from the interview:
Like everything she says here screams queerplatonicness to me.
And here are some of the lyrics if you're not familiar:
I've barely explained my thoughts about this bc I'm not feeling super coherent tonight but like yeah guys Reneé is a queer icon, out here representing all kinds of queerness. gn.
#renee rapp#alyah chanelle scott#I do#snow angel#queerplatonic#queer#also I think the reason I've explained this poorly is because I am definitely not the authority on qprs#so a renee fan that has more knowledge abt this subject pls feel free to fill in

for a cautious starter . // for Anira maybes? || @kismetwilled!
it was wicked of him, he thought. to mistrust one of the people his fate was so securely intertwined with. ellis' whole life, he had been fed story after story about mages. they were bad luck, nan would say. they were the maker's punishment for man's hubris. ellis cared very little for what the maker had to say anymore, but some things were not easily unlearned. despite the warm light of the fire between them, ellis' arm hairs stand on end. he can't quite meet anira's eye.
" when's the last time you left your tower? before all this blight business, i mean? " ellis thinks he may know the answer. but all his answers seemed to fall short of the truth. all he knew of mages were in theory - he had met very few in his life. it was difficult to grasp the thought of them being locked away in a tower for their whole lives. surely there was someone on the outside that knew her, missed her. maybe she missed them too.
it was important to try & understand her, even if he couldn't trust her. she looked like a person. breathed like a person. bled like a person. the power at her fingertips made his stomach turn to think of. maybe if he could make her more person than sin in his mind, it could be easier for the both of them. their lives may depend on it. he says the next words like they're a joke. they have to be, " surely you've got a story or two to tell. "
#kismetwilled#kismetwilled: anira#v. main#YOOO#thank you for this i am so excited for the ememes u sent me#i hope this works but if you need me to change anything i definitely can#ellis: convinced she is a demon but wants tot hink shes just a Person#it's that sweet sweet paranoia / lack of knowledge on the subject#i was thinking this was pretty early in the blight#tho i tried to keep it open to interpretation

me whenever someone gives me unsolicited opinions about myself:
#thinking about the time a friend of mine did this#and she does this a lot bc she's older and ofc sees herself as 'more knowledgeable' or w/e#which hey sometimes she is#mostly i take her opinions with a grain of salt but she said something to me recently that just#idk it rubbed me the wrong way. and i keep thinking about it.#ider what we were talking about but somehow we got on the subject of romantic relationships#and i basically said i'm not opposed to one but i'm NOT looking. like at ALL. not even a little bit.#but if something happens someday great!#she proceeds to tell me literally right after i say this#that i should work on my appearance then because i'm 'a little plain'. not ugly or anything just...plain.#which hey i know already btw and it doesn't really bother me#i wear make up and am not against it at all. i think it's amazing to see what people can do with it tbh.#and if people wanna wear it i'm all for it#i personally don't like the way it feels on my skin so i use as little as possible#just enough to cover things like my acne scars or other imperfections that i feel self conscious about#i'd love to get to a point where i feel comfortable NOT wearing make up actually#and that's not even to say that i'd NEVER get dolled up or whatever#it's just not something i enjoy doing on a regular basis ya know?#and honestly? any future partner i have should be aware of that bc you're gonna get plain ol' non-makeup-wearing me 99% of the time#and if that's a problem with them then i don't even wanna waste my time on them#so yeah when she said this to me i was annoyed#bc fr wtf does that have to do with me not looking for a partner??? lol#*sigh* ik she was probably just trying to help in her own way but like#just don't k? k.#/rant#sorry i had to get that out somewhere lmao#it's been driving me crazy#ignore me
