in firefox you can use youtube extensions to: disable ads, reenable the dislike button, and block videos or entire channels from showing up in the search results.
you can also use an extension call tree style tabs which is the best damn thing since sliced bread for anyone who keeps a bunch of tabs open.
PLUS, there are many extensions for dyslexia and general ease of reading.
ADDITIONALLY, it is a more secure browser over all. It keeps your cookies seperate from each other and if you turn on the master password feature, you can lock down your saved passwords even if someone gets into your computer.
FURTHERMORE, your saved passwords can update between multiple devices because they're encrypted (makes sure to generate your reset key and put it somewhere safe cuz if you forget your mozilla account password, it nukes your passwords to keep you safe and this is a good thing i promise, i work IT.)
AND LASTLY, your boommarks are accessible between linked devices, and you can send a tab directly from one device to the other.

Guys how do I make a post about the fact that the outcome of the Haruka Suicide situation only goes to send the message that disabled people are inherently expendable while also making it very clear that I think it's really dumb to assume things about someone's moral compass based on how they vote in an anime music project while also also making it clear that Milgram is a piece of media meant to criticize the audience for their decisions and the consequences for them and what that ultimately says to the characters and narrative as a whole?

it is genuinely amazing sometimes, to interact with other people and then have your brain light up with joy. I mean---you're telling me that I spent the last couple weeks mired in ennui, generally full of malaise, and this whole time I was looking for a long, rambly conversation with 3-5 people, punctuated with laughter and asides, about why you might enjoy a plot-driven vs. a character-driven novel??
what incredible bullshit. how has science not cured this yet.

I will not speak to AI art as a disability accessibility tool but I WILL say that most of the arguments about AI making art 'accessible' aren't about providing assistance to the disabled but rather making it more 'accessible' to break into the art market and make a boatload of money without having to. yknow. learn how to make art or anything about the creative workflow

Usually, even a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other elements of this world, about the motion and orbit of the stars and even their size and relative positions, about the predictable eclipses of the sun and moon, the cycles of the years and the seasons, about the kinds of animals, shrubs, stones, and so forth, and this knowledge he holds to as being certain from reason and experience. Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking non-sense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn. The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of the faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men. If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books. For then, to defend their utterly foolish and obviously untrue statements, they will try to call upon Holy Scripture for proof and even recite from memory many passages which they think support their position, although "they understand neither what they say nor the things about which they make assertion."
St. Augustine, De Genesi ad Litteram, emphasis mine

Believe victims, sure, but also question serious allegations toward one of the most prominent Jewish celebrities made in the midst of some of the worst global antisemitism in decades. A Jewish celebrity who has had no allegations or even bad words said about him in his near forty years of public life. Not one thing. It is suspicious.
Oh believe me, I've already seen people bring up his "zionism"
not against you anon, but I will say he has done problematic things in his past, like racefail '09 and his marriage to amanda palmer

Y'all listen just because you learned something in school doesn't mean everyone else did. idk how y'all got this idea in ur heads that we all learned the same shit when literal book bans are happening in schools across the united states and certain subjects are being banned from ever being talked about. (do not even get me started on the fact different countries have different curriculum too) Like you cannot say "You guys obviously just didn't pay attention in school and are stupid because we all learned this" like you are ignoring like 50 other options as to why people may not have learned this ranging from poorly funded school to disabled kid getting shoved into special ed classes which are often notorious for mistreating their disabled students. I'm begging you all to understand the nuance of why certain skills and abilities aren't as widely spread as you assume they should be.
#text#some of you are creeping a bit to close to ablism and it's getting real ucomfortable#'everyone learned media literacy in school' except in the schools where they just told you what to think.#except in the schools where they didn't want you to learn critical thinking so that they could push an agenda without you questioning it#except in schools where books or subjects that would require this skill got banned and thus it was never learned#unless the school was underfunded and couldn't afford the proper materials to teach it#unless your teacher was bad and didn't bother to properly teach you#unless your teacher and school was ablist and refused to teach you#unless your schooling was disrupted by a sudden pandemic that may of forced you into an environment that made it more difficult to learn#unless literally anything else besides 'you didn't listen and are thus stupid' because i can assure you we were listening#maybe instead of blaming a huge portion of the population of suddenly becoming stupid or not paying attention in class#maybe you could realize that this is a failure on the American school system as a whole#at some point you can't keep blaming the students for failing when it's this many students#at some point you gotta realize it's the system and blaming the individual does nothing#btw i didn't talk about other country curriculum because I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how good other school systems are#but i know more about american school systems and how much they suck and so many of these ppl complaining mean american schools anyways#but i am aware of other countries having wide variety of curriculum and how weird ppl get about that especially with usa centrism online#i just dont feel like i can give a good enough commentary on that that other non-usa ppl haven't already given 10x better than i ever could

My favorite genre of book is the “list book,” where the contents are essentially one long, cut-and-dry list of information, organized in alphabetical order with no embellishments whatsoever, other than diagrammatic pictures which show the meaning of something. This includes dictionaries in English, foreign language-to-English dictionaries, encyclopedias on various subjects, toxic chemical transportation handbooks for truckers, etc.

Screaming about the fact that 'I do' is about Alyah because what Reneé is describing is literally queerplatonic feelings like oh my god I'm dying here.
This is the bit from the interview:
Tumblr media
Like everything she says here screams queerplatonicness to me.
And here are some of the lyrics if you're not familiar:
Tumblr media
I've barely explained my thoughts about this bc I'm not feeling super coherent tonight but like yeah guys Reneé is a queer icon, out here representing all kinds of queerness. gn.

for  a  cautious  starter . // for Anira maybes? || @kismetwilled!
it was wicked of him, he thought. to mistrust one of the people his fate was so securely intertwined with. ellis' whole life, he had been fed story after story about mages. they were bad luck, nan would say. they were the maker's punishment for man's hubris. ellis cared very little for what the maker had to say anymore, but some things were not easily unlearned. despite the warm light of the fire between them, ellis' arm hairs stand on end. he can't quite meet anira's eye.
" when's the last time you left your tower? before all this blight business, i mean? " ellis thinks he may know the answer. but all his answers seemed to fall short of the truth. all he knew of mages were in theory - he had met very few in his life. it was difficult to grasp the thought of them being locked away in a tower for their whole lives. surely there was someone on the outside that knew her, missed her. maybe she missed them too.
Tumblr media
it was important to try & understand her, even if he couldn't trust her. she looked like a person. breathed like a person. bled like a person. the power at her fingertips made his stomach turn to think of. maybe if he could make her more person than sin in his mind, it could be easier for the both of them. their lives may depend on it. he says the next words like they're a joke. they have to be, " surely you've got a story or two to tell. "
