I wanted to create a version of Frara/Squeezo in your style (which I really like) along with a possible form for the Dark World. I’ve made three versions of the same drawing, but now I don’t know which one to choose, so I’d love your opinion or advice as an artist. (I draw on physical paper because it’s easier for me that way.)
There’s not much to say about the "Light World" forms; I simply took the sprite of Frara/Squeezo and adapted it into a drawing. There are a few differences, but I’ll briefly mention them:
The color of the fringe changes: in the first version, it’s rainbow-colored because I thought it looked nice; in the second, it’s gray as a sort of contrast to the first one; and finally, in the third, it’s red, like the classic fringe of Kris and Frisk.
The color of the pants and socks, some details of the sweater, and the hairstyle also change. Lastly, in the third version, there’s a visible eye (to avoid making it look too much like Kris) and a kind of pseudo-nose (which I’m not sure came out well).
The Dark World forms are more interesting:
In the first version, I was inspired by a simple knight, and I used all the colors I had available, thinking it would look good that way. The skin is gray to resemble a doppelgänger in fantasy games (since Frara/Squeezo is a kind of "double" of Frisk/Chara).
The second version, on the other hand, is inspired by a dark wizard (it seemed cool), with white and gray hair. The cape resembles Chara’s shirt as a sort of parallel, since Frisk has a cape with colors similar to Kris’s shirt, and vice versa.
The third version is inspired by this image:
(Doppelgänger from Forgotten Realms).
In this version, I added a weapon, as I realized I hadn’t included one in the previous versions. If you’re wondering why I chose an umbrella as the weapon, it’s because I found this fan art during my research:
(Credit to: @Art-in-heart4va)
I thought it was a cute idea. Finally, I added a few minor details.
Bonus: If you’re wondering why there are red cross-outs on the drawings and why I scribbled on them, it’s because I didn’t want to ruin the drawing.
I tried to come up with a made-up name for Frara/Squeezo. In the first version, he was called John (literally the first name that came to mind...). In the second version, I called him Ulan (because it was the first name that started with “U” that came to mind. Why the "U"? Well, take the first letters of the names Frisk, Chara, and Kris, put them together, and you’ll figure it out (; ). Finally, in the third version, I gave up and still haven’t decided on a name for him...
P.S.: I’m sorry for writing such a long text, but these drawings are very close to my heart, and I wanted to specify every single detail.
Hi there! Thanks for showing me all this art and going though your thought process behind it. I couldn't help but cobble something together on my own, based on all these concept pieces. You might find bits from all designs in there. Also played around with the colors a little, because I do like me some color theory.
Anyway, I REALLY hope you don't mind! I don't wanna undermine your work!

1. your fic is absolutely amazing. Have been bingeing it and I’m literally obsessed. The way you write just itches my brain in such a good way, literally cannot contain my love and appreciation for your work👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 cheers to you!!! Can’t wait to keep reading
2. As I was reading I found out you also deadass drawing the art to go w/ the fic?? Literally you’re living my dream 😭 plus your art is so so so well done!!!!! It’s added so much joy to my reading experience
Cannot wait to see what else you have in store!!’ Hope you have an amazing, AMAZING day, week, year, etc.!!!! 💞🙌🏻🫶🏻
OMG IM GONNA CRY 😭😭 BAHAHA U SENT THIS AT SUCH A CRAZY MOMENT cuz i just checked my ao3 comments and was down about a rude comment i got, and then i come to tumblr and like, a few mins later/literally AS i was venting about it, u send this BAHAHA your choccy senses were tingling. IM SO GLAD U LIKE IT THO AND THAT YOURE ENJOYING IT (and my drawings, even if youve defs seen spoilers by now BAHHA) hope u have a good day too, u defs brightened mine!! THANK UUUU💖💖💖
@kaviary-blog this looks so funny bc i censored u just to keep it (mostly) spoiler free BUT AW THANK U DAMN IM HONOURED THAT MY FANFIC WAS THE ONE TO MAKE YOU CRY?? IM SO HAPPY HOW INVESTED YOU ARE 😭😭💖💖 im also super happy with that chap and its so satisfying like you said to finally be able to tie of all those threads so IM GLAD IT WAS WORTH IT💖
@lovesicklovermia ONE DAY???? OMG. FIRST TWO DAYS NOW ONE?? ITS JUST GETTING SHORTER AND SHORTER. next thing i know someones gonna be like yeah so i took some highly experimental drug that lets me read at 1000% the pace of a normal person, and i finished ur fic in 2 hours 😍omg loved it!!!😍😍 BAHAHAHA but omg i totally see what u mean, they do HAHA. AND THANK U💖💖 IM GLAD UR LIKING IT💖
YEAH so in my fic fifth years are 16, and by the time things get....explicit....clora and seb are 17. im not against consuming media with teenagers depicted in sexual situations like euphoria or riverdale or w.e else bc i get that its fiction and these are just real things that happen so its fine to write about them, but their canonical ages of 15 was still too young for me and i wanted them to be 17 before it got the E rating (which is why clora and sebs birthdays end up being so close, bc i was RUSHING for them to turn 17 BAHAHHAA)
BAHAHA clora and seb secretly being together is like the most poorly kept secret in my fic, like im sure her parents technically KNOW, but due to old fashioned traditions and whatnot (and it being 1891) seb wants to be able to propose properly and with a proper ring, bc clive is intimidating and he doesnt wanna just be like "yeah so im dating your daughter and weve already fucked and i plan to marry her" LOOL he wants to do things properly and be with her with her dads permission(even tho its a bit late for that HAHA) BUT WE CAN JUST PRETEND. tldr its basically just out of some sense of chivalry on sebs side, a fear of her dad, and wanting to do things right LOL
ALSO WAIT OMG STOPPPPP I WAS LITERALLY JUST ABOUT TO POST THIS BUTI HAVE TO INCLUDE THIS NOW
YOU SAW MY POST AND IMMEDIATELY DREW THIS AS A RESPONSE WHILE IN CLASS?? BAHAHAHA IM ACTUALLY SO TOUCHED RN IM TEARING UP WTF THATS SO SWEET OF YOU WTFFFFFFFFF THANK YOU SO MUCH😭😭😭💖💖 (NOW PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS!!🤬🤬)
#ask#rude comment?? forgotten. coke zero?? SLURPED#the irony of drawing CLORA in class bc she would disapprove and want u to pay attention BAHAHAH

2 things! 1-Do you play HSR (Honkai Star Rail) and 2-No pressure or anything but when is your story coming back?
I played a bit of HSR but I’m nowhere near as far along in it or as active on it as I am in Genshin. The last character I got was Boothill lol (I live laugh love Boothill).
It still astounds me that people actually enjoyed reading my story haha. I know it’s been a while, but with school and everything it’s been hard to even find time to write. I think I mentioned before that I’m kind of revamping literally everything—so I also have to find the time to draw the chapter art. So many characters are being scrapped/added/changed to help facilitate the storyline a bit better without me having to be so long-winded with it. The problem I was having was I would just write and write and write without really taking the story anywhere. I want to have a bit more structure to it so that it’s easier for me to get chapters published and easier to read as a whole. But, I won’t be able to do anything until school gives me a break 😭
It takes a bit of time to plan out a story lol. I also don’t wanna be like Chris Colfer and have inaccurate timelines and stuff 😔
I promise it won’t be away forever, but since you’ve been so patient, I’ll give you a couple things you can expect in the new version:
1. Further fleshed out backstory lore for Aurelia (and her mother 😒) along with her and Cyrus’s father (people who know about him seem to like him a lot don’t worry)! But why does Aurelia have light skin and gold hair if her biological father has dark skin and blue hair?? Something’s going on there…
2. More Negative content in general since he seems to be a fan-favorite. He also gets a new underling/sidekick! And when I say more Negative content, I also mean his role in other worlds and what that has to do with his identity and his overall plan. OoooOoOoOoOooOo….
3. Actual Demon King stuff (and he’s updated too) 👀
4. Cyrus’s home world is almost fully fleshed out so seeing some of that too! Probably a lot of that too… I might include a small fetch quest there to give you all a tour. I plan on making a completely separate story for that world (that does not have Cyrus as a main character), but that’s A LONG WAYS AWAY and not fanfiction so 😔
5. Some new characters who are projected to be fan-favorites too. Such as Vincent. Y’all might know who Vincent is, but, if you don’t, trust me you will. We will also be exploring more of my fanon backstory for the Demon King and how it connects to Xanthous as his reincarnation. The Demon King himself WILL be an added character (I’m so excited to actually do a art piece of his new design)! This is gonna be fun.
Here’s some questions that hint at lore drops:
What the heck is going on with Aurelia and why does her mother scare me?? Why does Indicum work with her but seem to be on Cyrus’s side?? Is it maybe because Aurelia’s true intentions are not what we think they are??? 😦
What is Negative’s secret ambition that makes him side with Aurelia? Why do his hands always hurt?? Why does he also have the ability to travel between worlds?????
Xanthous has got some insane lore! What’s going on with his underworld (and what’s going on in the aboveworld??) Why is he so secretive about the demons?
Where is Elrik? Where did he go?? Somebody must know! (Somebody does indeed)
Why is Cyrus’s scepter starting to talk to him?????
What does the design on the back of Cyrus’s neck mean? Is it a continuation of his tattoo?? Doesn’t seem like it. Why does he have such a bad reaction when that mark is hit??? And why can hear a voice in his head reacting to it too?
And finally, does the Inamoratos Grimoire actually exist? If so, who has it? Who made it? Why? What does it have to do with Xanthous and Cyrus specifically???
Well there you have it: Some fun things that are in the works! Thank you again for being so patient.

The semester had barely begun and yet you were already failing one of your classes. It could be the complexity of the subject or it could just be the professor who was distracting you; the professor who you thought about most nights while you touched yourself before you fell asleep, wishing it was his hand instead.
Regardless of anything he has called you to his office for a meeting about your failing grades so early in the semester and now as you sit waiting for him to enter the room you look around nervously at his books and personal items.
“Hello… I’m sorry about being late.” He opens the door making you jump a little.
“It’s… it’s fine, I was probably early.” You try and joke.
“You’re always early to class, yet somehow you’re failing.” He continues. “I wonder why that is? Especially as you’re so enthusiastic in class… you always know the answers and can articulate yourself very well…” he sits on the edge of his desk facing you. “So it bothers me that your tests and papers have been below parr.”
You sigh and run a hand through your loose hair “I… I really don’t know.” You lie and shuffle in the chair. “It’s like I draw a blank when it comes to testing or writing papers. No matter how many notes I make.” You half laugh and keep your eyes averted, stealing glances at his crotch when you look around.
“Well I know that can’t be it because your other studies aren’t affected the same way.” A wry smile playing across his lips as he folds his arms in front of him. “What you need is some extra credit so I don’t have to fail you… I’d hate to do that anyway but so early on….” He shakes his head.
“What… kind of extra credit?” You finally look up to his face and realise he’s been looking down your top, probably the entire time. A top that had you dress coded earlier in the day and that you had refused to change.
“Well…” he stands up and heads over to the door, locking it and pulling down the blind. “I do have an idea that may work for you.”
You lick your lips, a small surge of confidence running through you and making you sit up a little straighter in the chair; your breasts becoming the main focus of your seated stance “oh?”
“I think you have the right idea.” He nods and looks over you as he resumes his position against the edge of his desk, his crotch barely a foot away from your face and his suit pants not hiding his growing bulge. “I do see you watching me in glass. I’ve caught your art work on hidden pages under your notes. They’re very good by the way… maybe you want to get a better look…?”
You run your hands up the sides of your neck and into your hair, pulling it back into a rough and messy bun.
“Good girl.” He says quietly and watches intently “we’ll have to keep the noise down of course, people are studying nearby.”
“Of course…” you nod and slip yourself down off the chair and onto your knees in front of him, slowly stripping your top down to sit around your waist with your bra.
“Now there’s a view..” he swallows thickly and places his hands either side of him on the desk edge when you reach up and slowly undo his pants, helping them down his legs and gliding your hands down the same path then back up again to the waist of his underwear; You pull them down his legs to sit with his pants and wrap your hand around his cock making him gasp.
You had often thought about what he had looked like, his size and girth and you had to admit to yourself you were impressed with what you saw; he would definitely make you gag.
The professor lets out a shaky breath as you jerk him slowly; your hand working along his shaft in a smooth rhythm. He has to hold back a moan when your glossed lips touch the head of his cock and begin to suck lightly. His skin was soft against your lips but equally hard as a rock when you took him further into your mouth until he hit the back of your throat.
You hear panting from above you and feel his hand go into your hair and grip lightly when you start to bob your head. His hips move in opposition to your movements, pushing himself into your mouth with just enough force to make you gag around his cock, make you drool over your tits and make you quietly moan at the taste of his pre cum on your tongue.
“Oh god… on your feet…” he whispers through a groan “I need more from you…”
You pull away slowly and look up under your lashes at your professor “yes, sir.”
“Ooh I like that..” he licks his lips and helps you stand, his hands moving to your jeans and unbuttoning them. He pushes them down with your thong and makes sure they’re down around your ankles for you to step out of. “Hands on the desk..” it’s an order, a command and most definitely not a suggestion alone.
Placing your hands on the desk as directed you push your ass back to him and spread your legs wide to give him a good view; he runs a hand over you from behind and hums “you usually get that wet from sucking dick?” He asks close to your ear and you shake your head “I don’t usually like it but… yours tastes so good.”
“Very good girl. You ever tasted yourself?” He pushes two fingers into your pussy and curls them, thrusting slowly.
You shake your head again “no, sir…” gasping quietly and rocking your hips to his fingers; he scissors them and stretches you out before slowly slipping them out of you and moving them to your lips “open..” you do so and take his fingers into your mouth, tasting your juices on them and moaning quietly.
The professor guides his cock into your pussy and rocks his hips a little deeper on each thrust until he’s fully seated inside you. He lets out a shaky breath against your neck and starts moving his hips; keeping his thrusts slow and deep, making sure his entire cock fills you on each thrust.
He removes his fingers and uses your spit to coat his thumb too; moving to tease over your ass, adding just a little pressure over your hole to test the waters.
“Oh god yes..” you whisper and nod enthusiastically at the sensations, having to cover your mouth and hold back a moan when he pushes his thumb into you and alternates the thrusts of his thumb with his cock in your pussy.
Your mouth hangs open in pleasure and drool falls onto the desk below you as your professor speeds up his thrusts, slamming into you on every movement and panting heavily “that’s a good girl… just go with it.” You bite your lip to stop any noise and push back to his hips, you can feel him hitting every spot perfectly and you know it won’t take you long; you can’t last much more of this onslaught.
“Cum for me… I know you want too..” he breathes out and grinds his hips making you shake, you cover your mouth as you tighten and pulse along his length.
He pulls out of you and turns you around, pushing you down to your knees and jerking himself until he explodes over your tits with a choked off grunt. He stands with a heaving chest and licks his lips “god fucking damn…”
You look up at him and wipe some of his cum from your chest, licking it from your fingers seductively.
He swallows hard and smiles “if you uh… need more extra credit I’m sure we can organise something…”
“Maybe a regular study date?” You put forward.
“Most definitely.” He nods in agreement. “Because that extra credit work was exemplary.”

So I was looking at your work. How the heck do you know when to add more weight to a certain line?
I’ve been trying to improve my style since seeing your videos on your original channel (before you had deleted it) and I always admire you mainly because I hadn’t seen a art style like yours and you have a very unique art style and I loved that!
I’m working on improving the way I draw hair and I’m super confused looking at your art for inspiration I just wanna learn how to do stuff better. Some artists confuse me on how they explain stuff but you don’t. (Idk if this is making any sense)
Sorry for the late answer oops but I honestly don’t know how to explain how I do line weight 😭
My version of line weight is very sporadic, nonsensical, and sometimes just nonexistent too. It’s also already apart of most of my brushes so I don’t have to do much but draw normally. Regardless, I’ll try my best to explain under the cut:
Using this 30 second doodle to help visualize things better…
There’s lots of ways you can do line weight but I primarily like doing thicker lines where shadows are more likely to form while thinner lines would be near where light hits.
For example, you’ll sometimes see me using a bigger brush size for lines that connect and form corners in the hair. Meanwhile, loose strands or finer details in the hair are much smaller sizes. And when the hair thins out at the ends, I’ll be doing sharper, smaller lines as well to show it.
This creates a sense of depth to your work and the more drastic the line weight varies, the more exaggerated the depth feels. This is also why I like adding a shadow to the neck of my characters during lineart. It gives it a 3d look, almost. Like you can tell that area’s meant to be extremely dark.
And from all that, you can just repeat this process for everything else in your drawing :P
So basically, my lines are thicker for big and heavy shapes to emphasize them. Meanwhile smaller details, whatever that might be in my drawing, will be light and small.
It’s in the name: Line weight. AKA lines that differ depending on the subject’s weight! Either literally or metaphorically. Line weight is a way to convey how heavy the fabric of a character’s shirt might be, or how thick the texture of their hair is, or what you’re trying to make your audience focus on primarily like their face.
That’s kinda why it’s hard to explain line weight to me since I just sound repetitive 🫣
My lineart also tends to be thicker for outer lines while inner lines are thinner. You’ll notice this mostly in the face area and clothes. The brush size I use for facial features and fabric patterns/clothing seams are significantly smaller than the size I use for the overall head and clothes. Some artists like to exaggerate the outer lines and it gives off a very cartoonish look. I like doing this tactic primarily for chibis! For example:
Again, this is a great way to emphasize certain parts to your art!! I hope this helps :D
#꒰ v’s answered asks ꒱#Bro really just went ahead and doodled Curly for this bye#He has a chokehold on me atm sorry…

THE pinned post with info
Hello there, it is I, the Fluxxation. It’s like 1 AM and I really need to make this before I fall asleep so here goes nothing.
Me (Basics)
- He/Him
- Technically an adult (18) but no NSFW stuff please
- Exclusively an English speaker
My Interests
Above everything and always I will be a robot enjoyer. I love violent robots, funny robots, detailed robots, cute robots, anything but sexualized robots, please don’t do that.
As for current games, I’m very very big into my Nine Sols brainrot era, somewhat moderately playing Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero whenever they get content updates, and will always be a Souls and Armored Core fan. I know of Rain World, I wish I could get into it more, but I know of it. Oneshot holds an eternal grip on my heart as well. OH AND ULTRAKILL I FORGOT TO MENTION ULTRAKILL EARTHMOVER AND GUTTERTANK MY BELOVED I NEED MORE GUTTERTANK PLEASE. Also the entire risk of rain franchise im just adding games when i think of them now tbh.
As my previous games show, my interest is generally in difficult souls/souls-likes and narratively strong games, though I’ll play just about anything if it has a lot of robots in it or just outright looks appealing.
My music taste is horrible, I listen to VGM, Djent Metal, lofi, anything electronic, and everything in-between. I will always take song suggestions if you want to offer them. I would say I have a music addiction if 160k minutes on Spotify Wrapped says anything.
Creatively, I’ve always been best at writing. I’ve tried my hand at music, am beginning to finally learn art, but words have always been my forte. I’ve used this passion for writing to do quite a lot of online Roleplaying, generally in style of typical DnD, but also in more narrative-driven formats. I’ve made OCs for a good chunk of years of my life, having made short stories for my favorites and such, some of which I may share here someday. I wouldn’t even begin to say my writing is anything special, but I like to do it, and the people I’ve shared it with seem to think it’s alright.
Outside of my online degeneracy, I enjoy tennis and pickleball. I’m pretty active, loving to hike and climb/clamber. I greatly enjoy primitive camping and the outdoors regardless of weather, almost finding it more fun if I’m with the right people when the conditions are less than optimal.
Why I’m on Tumblr
I’m almost ashamed to say the reason I found Tumblr was the glorious Nine Sols Shitpost tag. I finished the game and my hyperfixation was so bad that I just started scouring the internet for any ounce of content I could get my hands on. Given my background with roleplaying stuff and shitposting, coupled with my new obsession of a game interest and a desire to start digital art, it was a perfect storm to get me to both join Tumblr and start drawing.
Now I’m here to keep up with those goals. I wanna keep providing comedic content on shitpost blogs, working on general art skills so that at the very least I can make decent-enough references for my often complicated roleplay-centric projects, and most of all, looking at content for games I enjoy, hopefully making some new pals in the process.
Oh, and reblogging cool robots / horrible shitposts
Current Projects / Goals
- Work on my Nine Sols AU (Ancient War Machine)
- Continue to practice drawing
- Befriend a few people on here (yippeee)
Asks / Contacting me
Feel free to ask for art requests or whatever else, I can’t guarantee anything close to speedy or good, as my art quality and time management skills are both as far from the word “good” as you can get, but I need the practice so..
I don’t have any other socials really aside from Discord. If you’re a mutual, or think you might as well be, then by all means hit me up and I’ll give you my user (even if it’s close enough to this account that you can probably guess it in a reasonable number of tries). FAIR WARNING, I am very socially awkward and will talk to you like we’ve just bumped into each other at random without any knowledge of who the other person is.
Thanks for reading allat, here’s a star for your efforts!

Are you an artist? If you are, can you share some art of your characters from Byoldervine?
I would LOVE to
Gonna show everything in the order it was designed and go nuts rambling about it because I can. Just note that none of these are finished designs and are very much still concepts rather than what I’m sticking with
It all started with Kennedy; she’s always been the one I had the most specific mental image of. She’s only been getting a couple tweaks here and there, so there isn’t a huge lot to say. My requirements for her were medieval fantasy vibes, a sleeveless waistcoat, some level of green and her three brooches on her lapel
I moved on to Sy next for a number of reasons; first, I know exactly how I want Sy’s hair to go, so that was helpful, but mainly I didn’t know which of the main five to pick, so I used Sy as an exercise instead. Sy is the kind of character who would be the only one to change their wardrobe in a cartoon. They do their own fashion design, so I’d have to work on my (lack of) sense of style, but Sy is also non-binary, and I’m very much unused to designing non-binary characters and their outfits, especially ones that fit the theme of fantastical royalty
I’ve been quite set on the trousers for a while, which is why I kept reusing them, but I’m sure that in future I’ll try dress designs with Sy as well. In an older design somewhere on my laptop Sy wore trousers like those and also had their designer signature up one leg in a sort of loopy golden embroidery or something like that? Can’t remember where but I’ve seen that done somewhere else and it looked like just a pretty design and I loved it
Top-wise I’m trying to figure out Sy’s style still, I don’t wanna make it too masc or femme but realistically Sy could go either way depending on whatever outfit they feel like. I think red would suit them well, both to go with their hair and to emphasise their royal status. Pretty settled on red being Sy’s favourite colour
But yeah Sy is just my experimentation character to have fun designing rather than attempting to settle on anything specific
Enigma came next, and for the first design I tried to follow what I wrote like years ago about what I wanted her to look like - and quickly realised she needed an update. Persephone is pretty athletic and energetic, she loves gymnastics and parkour and stuff, so I wanted Enigma in something practical that would allow for flexibility and a range of movement. The poofy trousers ended up being a lot cuter than I expected, I actually love them now, and to add an extra pop of colour I added that red thing going down from her belt (I have no idea what it’s called but I love it. And the torso? Absolutely amazing, adore it. I found a reference on Pinterest that I copied and it came out so much nicer than I expected. I think everything is so much more well-balanced now
The requirements I had for Enigma are her lower face mask, her hooded cloak that splits around the small of her back, the dark greys and other dark colours, her utility belt and a necklace similar to Katara’s from ATLA with the seal of Nexus on it (you can see it in the first one but the other ones have it hidden beneath her mask and hood)
Angelus is an interesting one because he has two hero looks; he has the altered Guardian armour that he wears initially to go to stop the breaches from Paracosm - which I’m not even gonna attempt to draw, that’s a job for Hero Forge - and then the slightly more casual look he has while travelling through Paracosm. I didn’t have a major idea of how I wanted this to look, so I experimented a little. And I’ll admit that at first I was kinda reluctant to draw a mostly white outfit since that would mean I’d have to colour the template
Until now, Angelus didn’t actually have his own style since he was always wearing Guardian armour, so it was fun to experiment with giving him new colours. I loved how the coral and blue worked together, but ultimately the coral clashed with the gold and I had to prioritise his main accent colour. In the end I went back to the white and gold, and leaned into the armour idea again because I feel it just suits him
The thing about Angelus is that he’s a very showy person who tries his hardest to be grand and ethereal and… well, angelic. But at the same time, giving him a cape or cloak to billow dramatically behind him would impede his wings when he lets them out, so I settled with long flowy sleeves and the flowy train coming down from his belt. I think it created a nice compromise between style and practicality
#this has been so much fun#I love working on these and figuring out more about the characters as I go#I’m currently working on Lazulai and then it’s on to Connor#thanks for the ask!#writing#writers#writeblr#bookblr#book#writers on tumblr#writerscommunity#writers of tumblr#writer#creative writing#character art#original character art#art#character design

Hi Timie !
Just wanted to say that I LOVE your writing so much ! Like I never realized that the reason why I didn't care for so much reader self-inserts was because it lacked the representation and different body types or what have you. But then stumbling across your blog and reading your stuff, seeing how friendly you are and interact with other writers, not to mention how just inclusive you are and support / say with your chest out that your writing is for the black girls....it's just so- ahhh I'm really thankful to have read your work and see your art ! It made me enjoy self-inserts because it felt like I was actually there ! So you've definitely rekindled a love for self-inserts 🥹🥹
I also wanted to say that you're truly an amazing person and really inspirational in getting me back into drawing and writing ! This is my first time exactly posting any of my work anywhere, all it normally does is stay in drafts or my notes. I’m a rather nervous person in general and I get pretty self conscious about my work, so if my work is up one day and gone the next that’s why. I enjoy writing/drawing for myself but am not apposed to taking requests, they just may take some time to get out.
I mostly write/draw stuff base on my current interests but that isn’t always the case. I enjoy a lot of different things and I love learning about other medias, so please share them if you want:]
I will mostly post my writing on here, sometimes my art, but if anyone has any requests or ideas they wanna share I would LOVEEE to hear them. I know I already sorta stated this but I wanted to give its own little things. I also will take requests on drawings just those will definitely take sometime, especially since am dealing with art block rn.

Hi! I wanna say I love your art first of all! I just read the message under your last post about Kevin’s art video and you said you’re mostly self taught - I’m curious about how you get into that? I’d love to learn to draw but have no idea where to start!
Sorry for getting back to this so late I am not as active on Tumblr. And yes, I am mostly self-taught because of my circumstances growing up. To those who don't know, I am SnowfallWarning/Big Jimbo and I am currently an animation student. I do 2D animation, concept art and character design and I graduate this year (hopefully). I am disabled both physically and mentally which is why I mostly do digital art. I have a coordination disorder (dyspraxia) and am blind in one eye but that doesn't stop me. For my entire childhood I was discouraged from drawing as I apparently wouldn't go anywhere with it or that I was terrible. Where I lived most of my life had no opportunities for someone like me so I had to leave to continue pursuing art. Because of the poor access, the only things I had was notebooks, school supplies and an old iPad mini to draw with growing up. I learned everything I currently know now from using those. I don't know what got me into drawing still, may have been Warrior Cats and dinosaurs. Like what Jose said in Kevin's video, art comes from the soul. It is human expression and we've always been doing it. Anyone can be an artist and we all start somewhere, trust me. Here's some stuff I usually tell people because I do get asked this often (I'm also not the best teacher): 1: Experiment. Find what works for you. Be messy with it, not every piece needs to be perfect. If you are a digital artist then also trying different programs can be helpful too. Maybe you're better at drawing landscapes, characters or abominations that defy God. 2: Use references if necessary. Not sure why for a while it was considered "cheating" to use references. Everyone in the industry uses references, I would know. If you also want, you can try tutorials but I found I learn more from references. 3: Take inspiration. I'm always adding things I see in other people's art to my own style if I like it. Though try not to copy them. 4: Tracing. I believe tracing is okay for learning purposes. It's how I learned to draw humans after doing exclusively furry art for years tbh. I tend to stick to real-life references for this, this is a great site for practice: https://line-of-action.com (if you're not okay with nudity then do remember to turn that off). "But where do I even start?" Grab a piece of paper and pencil (or open a blank canvas on a digital art program if you prefer that) and just start doodling whatever. If you have an idea then go for that as well. Every class I've had in college so far has started with drawing and rendering a bunch of shapes to see where everyone was at and to get a feel of our styles. So maybe try that too. Draw random shapes with different materials/brushes, colour them in and add details like shadows and highlights. I know it seems ridiculous but I do it every once in a while to experiment and try different methods. You probably won't improve overnight. Hell, it took me 7 years to get to where I currently am. A lot of people quit because they think they're not good enough when pretty much every artist is only proud of about 10% of their work. Definitely the case for me. Not every piece is going to be a masterpiece and the imperfections can be what makes it special, so please don't be so hard on yourself. Don't be discouraged because other artists may be better than you either, they've probably been doing it for longer. So please, if you are dedicated enough, keep trying. I'm sure you will get somewhere :) So basically, - Use whatever material you got and draw what comes to mind, even if it's terrible it is a great start. - Experiment with your style and/or materials. - Reference, take inspiration and trace for memory. - Don't give up but do take breaks to avoid burnout. - Try not to be intimidated by other artists, we also don't really know what we're doing tbh (and just as afraid of you as you are of us).
I hope that all made sense and was somewhat helpful :)

Roast Chicken Dinner with Julia Child’s Asperges au Naturel [Boiled Asparagus], Sauce Mornay, and boiled potatoes
Recipes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking used in this meal:
Sauce Velouté (57) Sauce Mornay (61) Asperges au Naturel [Boiled Asparagus – hot] (436) Roast Chicken pan sauce (242) (ack, never mind!)
Other recipes:
Ina Garten’s Perfect Roast Chicken
Frontmatter: So here’s a confession: I’m pretty hopeless with sauces, and a real dummy with carving a bird. I’ve been playing at roasting birds for 15 years, and making a complete cock-up of the final presentation the whole while. I’m afraid to cut into bone, and while I can roast a bird to perfection, the second I try to cut between the leg and the whatever, the drumstick bone rips out, or I shred the breast meat, or do some other stupid crap and then I lose my place and just start hacking away at the poor bird, and it all just looks like a giant pile of carrion remains in the end. And everyone’s really nice because it still tastes great, but then I get scared off it for a bit, and in my head, and then try again in a few months, and watch Jacque Pepin carve a bird, and a dozen other videos on You Tube, and look at old diagrams and drawings, and I come to my perfectly roasted and rested bird with a new plan and e voila, I fuck it up again and we eat a weird pile of delicious meat that looks like a drunkard shoveled it out of a gutter before it was attacked by wild dogs. Again.
Oh and I have no idea what wings are for or why anyone would care, so those just go in my next batch of stock. Which seems like a waste. But like who wants the wings off a roast chicken? Anyone? Someone must.
And I’ve never mastered the basics of sauces, so I follow recipes, but they’re not building on skills or knowledge. Every sauce is its own thing, not, oh it’s an ‘x’ but with vinegar instead of lemon juice. Like I can remember cocktail proportions that way. I know my Mai Tai in relationship to proportions of a Margarita, replace half the orange with orgeat, etc. So I know my brain can do that. But I’ve never learned my basic sauces, and so I can’t do it with sauces. Yet. Enter my cunning plan.
It’s to get better at stuff. My cunning plan is to learn shit and get better at stuff.
So, I’m going to spend some time with the OGFC, Julia Child to try to learn her basic sauces to build from there.
Toward that end, tonight I’ll attempt TWO, eh like 2.5, JC recipes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking: Asperges au Naturel [Boiled Asparagus] (peel that shit, the JC way, whether I think it matters or not {and I don’t}), a Sauce Mornay out of a Sauce Velouté which I think will be nice on asparagus and some simple boiled potatoes I’m making. I’m also going to roast a chicken, but I’m not going to do one of Julia’s roast chickens. Look, they sound great, but require basting and turning like constantly (like, I don’t know how you keep the oven temp up you’re basting it and turning it so much), and Ina Garten’s roast chicken turns out incredible for me every time and it’s a real leave-it-alone-and-let-the-magic-happen kinda deal which works for me when I’m trying to learn a basic ass sauce that everyone else already knows how to make. Plus I gotta lemon, head of garlic that’s getting old, and some fresh thyme I really wanna shove up there. There’s a certain catharsis to it. But I’m gonna use Julia’s pan sauce method instead of Ina’s gravy, which means adding carrots to the pan I’m roasting the bird in, then sauteing minced shallots in the pan juices while the chicken rests, deglazing with more chicken stock, reducing, and adding butter.
But I’ll try to carve it for the I-don’t-knowth time after watching Julia and Jacques and a bunch of other videos and I’ll see if it goes any better this time around.
So here we go!
Barefoot Contessa aka Ina Garten’s Roast Chicken
Sidebar: Links to my favorite relatively fuss-free roast chickens:
This one from Ina is great too, but Luke doesn’t so much truck with fennel, so I don’t do this one anymore:
If you don’t want to stuff your bird full of the aromatics, try Jacque Pepin’s Skillet Roasted Chicken with Natural Juices
Jacques Pepin’s Basic Roast Chicken | New York Times
or Matty Matheson’s easy-ass no-truss bird that cooks in like 45-60 minutes.
Matty Matheson: Winner Winner Chicken Dinner | It’s Suppertime for Munches / Vice: (7:19 for the roast chicken)
Just go to her site. It’s really one of the easiest and most consistently good recipes for roast chicken I’ve ever tried. Are there better out there, yeah probably. If I’m making simple sides, I’ll experiment with something more fussy, but this is the one to make if you want to focus on your sides or if you’re making other things that need to be watched closely.
I added some carrots to the pot, and I use the carrots and onions to lift the chicken off the bottom a little bit. Then I usually add a ¼ cup of water or stock to the bottom of the pot when it’s got about 20 minutes to go. Oh, and the cook time in my oven is usually about an hour 20 minutes instead of 30. That’s when my thigh temp hits 165.
Bird goes in the oven, 425 for 80-90 minutes.
Boiled Potatoes – no recipe!
The last of the garden baby potatoes for the year were starting to sprout. And these only lasted this long because I think they were small russet potatoes and the skins were ugly, so I peeled those, boiled them in salted water, threw in some butter and salt, chuffed them a little, and stuck a dish towel over them until ready to serve. Just tossed in the microwave for 45 seconds so I could get these out of the way early to focus on the other stuff. Served with some minced parsley and sauce mornay. Could have done without the latter, but we’ll get to that.
Asperges au Naturel [Boiled Asparagus – hot] (Child 436)
Julia says “We have tested every asparagus cooking method we have heard of—peeled, unpeeled, boiled butts, steamed tips—and can say categorically that the freshest, greenest, and most appetizing asparagus is cooked by the French method” (435). So…. There ya go.
Sidebar: Yeah, that wasn’t working, but the peeler did fine. Maybe not on really fat asparagus, but then just do another couple of passes on the super fat end. Have a good peeler, use that shit. Made quick work of it.
To do this, I have to peel. Julia says the peeler will do me no good as it doesn’t go deep enough. She says “hold the butt end up” and “peel off the outer skin with a sharp, small knife, going as deep as 1/16 of an inch at the butt in order to expose the tender, moist flesh” (435). Then “gradually make the cut shallower until you come up to the tender green portion near the tip. Shave off any scales which cling to the spear below the tip” and then wash the peeled spears in cold water, and drain.
Then you line them up so the tips are in the same place, and tie them in bundles of about 3 ½” with string in two places, and cut off the butts to even everything out. But leave a couple spears out of the bundles so you can test for doneness. (Which I forgot to do.)
And if you’re doing this ahead of time, which I am, set them upright in ½” of cold water, cover with a plastic bag, and refrigerate.
HOLD UNTIL THE BIRD IS RESTING.
Then in a pot big enough that you can put the asparagus bunches in horizontally, in enough boiling salted water to cover the bundles:
Sidebar: Uhm, I did this for 8 minutes, and I still think I over-cooked them a little. Can’t imagine what nearly twice that would have done.
Boil slowly, uncovered, for 12-15 minutes, until a knife pierces the butt end easily. The spears “should bend a little, but should not be limp or droopy. Eat the loose spear to test for doneness” (437).
Sidebar: Yeah, this was genius. I mean, I’m always scrambling to get green veg done in the end so it doesn’t get cold. Will use this again for sure. Probably could have worked for the potatoes too.
Cut and remove the strings. If not using right away, they will keep warm for 20-30 minutes covered with a napkin. Put asparagus on a platter, then place that platter on top of the water you boiled the asparagus in, then put a napkin on the asparagus. She says.
Sauce Velouté, medium consistency (57) and Sauce Mornay (61)
The great sauce journey begins here. Bear with me, I’m learning, and I’m trying to learn with Julia.
The White Mother Sauces “stem from those two cousins, béchamel and velouté. Both use a flour and butter roux as a thickening agent but béchamel is a milk based sauce while the velouté has a fish, meat, or poultry base” read: stock (54), which is the version I’ll be doing today.
Thin Sauce or soup 1 Tb per cup of liquid Medium, general purpose sauce 1-1/2 Tb flour per cup of liquid Thick sauce 2 Tb flour per cup of liquid Soufflé base 3 Tb flour per cup of liquid
And then the mornay sauce is a medium consistency velouté or béchamel with swiss cheese, or a combination of swiss and parmesan mixed in after the original sauce is completed.
2 T butter 3 T flour 2 cups boiling stock Salt and white pepper
Instructions for Sauce Veloute from Mastering the Art of French Cooking (57):
Sidebar: Maybe my low heat is lower than Julia’s. But I had to turn this up to a medium-low to get anything to happen here. Or maybe the time here really depends on the kind of pot. I was using an enameled cast iron pot, so I upped that temp a bit. Eventually there was some light frothing, but it took forever to get there at low.
1) In a heavy bottomed [at least] 6-cup saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Blend in the flour, and cook slowly, stirring, until the butter and flour froth together for 2 minutes without coloring. This is now a white roux.
Sidebar: Is it supposed to smell like butter cookies? I’ve heard popcorn, but mine really smelled like cookies. Hmmm.
2) Remove roux from heat. As soon as roux has stopped bubbling, pour in all the [boiling chicken stock] at once. Immediately beat vigorously with a wire whip to blend liquid and roux, gathering in all bits of roux from the inside edges of the pan.
3) Set saucepan over moderately high heat and stir with the wire whip until the sauce comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, stirring.
4) Remove from heat, and beat in salt and white pepper.
Now we’re gonna turn that into the Sauce Mornay with the addition of the following:
¼ cup swiss coarsely grated ¼ cup parmesan finely grated Pinch nutmeg Pinch cayenne (optional) 1-2T softened additional butter (optional)
1) Take the sauce veloute you made, and right after it has boiled for one minute, while it is still hot, remove from the heat and beat in the cheeses until melted and blended with the sauce.
2) Season to taste with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and optional cayenne.
3) Off heat, and just before serving, stir in optional additional butter a bit at a time, if using. (I didn’t.)
If not using right away, you can pour a thin layer of melted butter, or stock over the top to keep it from skinning over.
Julia’s Pan Sauce for the roasted chicken (242):
½ Tb minced shallots 1 cup chicken stock Salt and pepper 1-2 Tb softened butter
1) While the chicken is resting, scoop the onions and carrots that are left in the roasting pan out, leaving as much liquid as possible.
2) Remove all but two Tablespoons of fat from the pan. Stir in the minced shallots and cook slowly for 1 minute. Add the stock and boil rapidly over high heat, scraping up coagulated roasting juices with a wooden spoon and letting liquid reduce to about ½ cup.
3) Season with salt and pepper
Sidebar: This is where I fucked up and just scrapped the whole thing. I was distracted trying to carve the bird, and added the butter in all at once with the pan still on the heat, and it never came together. Looked like a nice reduction until I added the butter. So yeah, do that part slowly or you’ll have a broken fatty mess. I did not serve this.
4) Off-heat, and just before serving, swirl in the enrichment butter by bits until it has been absorbed.
5) Pour a spoonful of the sauce over the chicken, and send the rest to the table in a sauceboat
It’s off the menu. Let’s say no more about it.
Carve my damn chicken.
So I think I watched all the videos again today, plus a few more. And I think I know where I’ve been going wrong, but I was focused on the task and didn’t take any pictures.
But here are my favorite videos for learning:
Jacques Pepin Techniques: How to Carve a Roast Chicken
But here’s the thing: so easy, so fast, watched it a dozen times, but honestly he goes so fast that I need some more help.
Chris Carves a Roast Chicken | From the Test Kitchen | Bon Appetit
This one may have helped me the most this time around because he really slows down to show you the parts where you’re exploring the joints with the knife to find those connection points.
Then there’s this:
At 21:26 you can see how a Fak carves a chicken, I guess.
Here’s some notes. I let this bird rest for 20 minutes, and I think it could have gone another 10. It was still very hot, and I rushed my pan sauce and fucked it because my bird rest timer went off, and I could have ignored that and saved my pan sauce. So 30 minutes is not too long for a 5 pound bird.
Dinnertime
Roast Chicken Dinner with Julia Child’s Asperges au Naturel [Boiled Asparagus], Sauce Mornay, roast chicken pan sauce, and boiled potatoes
So, how did it all go?
Well I think the chicken carving turned out way better than usual. I wasn’t serving it to a bunch of people, and Luke and I both wanted thigh and leg tonight, so that’s what I plated, and I didn’t bother to separate them, and I think it doesn’t quite look like a drunken monkey did it. The breasts came off fine, though perhaps I still left a lot of scrap behind, and the meat shredded a bit. The breasts were slightly overcooked as I let the chicken go in the oven the full 90 minutes, when I knew from last time I should have taken it out at 80. Not a huge deal. They sliced up nicely for leftovers.
Chicken was fucking great, even without the pan gravy. Good job Ina and good job me.
The asparagus was good, not great. I’m not sure why I would peel it, but Julia says it’s best that way.
Here’s the thing: we’ve improved vegetables a lot, even the ones we just get at basic ass stores. Has the skin on asparagus gotten less tough in the last 50 years? I kinda think maybe. I think I’m going to stick with sautéing nice thin asparagus in oil in a really hot pan. I’ll try this again when I can only get big fat asparagus. Or I won’t because I don’t love big fat asparagus.
The mornay sauce was pretty bland. I tasted it, and maybe it needed more salt, or maybe more cheese, but mostly I think it wasn’t a great pairing with the asparagus, which needed something with more vinegar I think. I thought the swiss would work with the asparagus and potatoes, but it didn’t taste like swiss. It seemed on the sweet side, and still smelled like cookies. I’ll keep working on it, and try to bring the leftover sauce back and incorporate it into a pasta with cheese, adding more cheese. Not sure what to use this sauce for, or if I made it right. But it wasn’t quite right for this.
I watched a couple videos. I don’t think my roux was cooking hot enough. I think I needed a more vigorous cook when it was the flour and the butter, but Julia said low, so low and slow I went. I’ll keep learning, but this wasn’t the shit, it was… I swear it was cookie dough. Luke thought maybe I used his Krusteaz pancake mix which we did totally have in an unlabeled Tupperware under the counter, but I know I filled my flour container from the bag and labeled it with my OCD labelmaker. Still, it was weird. And probably wrong.
Potatoes were perfect, and because they were tiny russet babies they soaked up all the chicken juices, just parsley and salt and butter. Great little potatoes I grew. Good job me again.
Nice fucking dinner, basically. But the asparagus and the mornay sauce were meh at best.
New Segment
I’ve been working on a sort of post cooking project emotional check in on a four point scale based on how motivated I feel to treat, challenge, or punish myself in the end. It goes like this:
4: Feel great, up to new challenges. I’ll make a new cocktail I’ve never tried before, and document it in another post here.
3: Feel pretty good, but not especially inspired. I’ll make a classic comfort cocktail I know by heart. Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Negroni, etc.
2: I’m OK, but whooped and can do no more. I’ll have a glass of wine or a beer, a straight whiskey, a Rum and Coke or a G&T.
1: I’m really feeling pretty fucked up about the whole thing and not good about myself at all. Like I don’t deserve good. I only deserve bad. I’ll take a shot of Malort. And I’ll have a good long think about what I’ve done.
0: I’m actually dead. The recipe finished me off. I can drink nothing and have put myself to bed. Done because me chefed too menny.
Tonight I had a beer. I wasn’t whooped, but none of the experiments turned out great. My chicken carving went better than ever before, so that was pretty dope. I still don’t know what the deal is with chicken wings.
Goodnight!

Sadly I don’t know how to animate but I would love to try eventually.
I would green screen any over complications (like the sparkles and Lava lamp) and if I couldn’t I would just omit them (I do appreciate the critic of Beelzebub, I might change her neck ruffle as it’s always a pain in the ASS to draw and was my attempt to make the weird lava hair work)
That’s Satan/Iblis for the tattoo guy. I don’t wanna call him Satan as I feel like it’ll confuse him for Lucifer too much (so I chose Iblis since that’s also another name for Satan anyways) I added tattoos for the aesthetic of the strong man but I can imagine if I made a wrap for the tats I could probably paste in post? I’ll have to make dedicated tatts as these were meant to be placeholders.
The dots are just buttons, they keep the suit in place since I used real animal tamer coats to inspire it, also yes I wanted him to look more rooster like! I used concept art of asmodeus for it lol.
Belphegor’s arm band ironically wasn’t intentional, but I’m now gonna just say that’s what it is. Thank you so much for the compliment on the chair, I had to find several irl wheelchairs and it’s inspired by a newer model with a motor!
Mammon is the design I struggled the most with, so I can see where he hits vivzie territory because god it was hard to make his whole thing work. If anything I might actually do another draft to simplify some areas since I have a few more ideas to actually work with. Mammon is just really difficult to research in general so yeah I thank you for the honesty /Gen
Levithan’s horns working as tentacles actually slaps as an idea, might actually use that. But I worry that leviathan can’t be read as feminine which worries me a bit, I guess I should take it she’s very gender nonconforming but regardless I’m glad she’s not overdetailed as I was worried the dots and beads would clutter her design.
Overall this helped me understand how to view the designs which is why I’m glad I asked for critique, I have a bad habit of over designing myself and I try to make sure I don’t overload myself.
Hiya I wanted to genuinely ask if my sin designs are easy to animate
https://www.tumblr.com/helluva-murder-pros/737740668192079872/the-line-up-of-the-sins-baybeeee-i-really-wanted
I have a hard time gauging what’s too much and wanted to see for sure
Howdy!
The first question I should ask is are you actually going to be animating these designs?
Because if they're just going to be drawn, then you are free to keep the designs as they are.
The reason why designs for animation are simple is because you're going to be drawing them thousands of times.
When it comes to drawing for illustration, the average person does not draw them thousands of hundreds of times. When drawing for animating, you draw them so much so it would be nice to keep them simple.
Anyways, to answer your question, I took a look at each of the designs and here are my thoughts:
This design (I assume is Lucifer) is really good for animating! The only thing I'm a bit iffy about is his purple and white tail/cape/idk exactly what to call it. But I'm sure you can just use green screen or keep it relatively simple. Either way, it's a solid design
For your Beelzebub design, I admit I'm a sucker for warm color palettes so I instantly liked this design. I assume you're going to be animating the lava lamp thingies with green screen (and not hand drawn because if you do I feel bad for your wrists)
I did do a simplified design of it, although I kept the abdomen as it is.
Now I don't know who this one is (Apologies for that) but this is another solid design for animation! The only thing I'm worried about is the tattoo but it's not too complicated, so nice work!
(I assume this is Asmodeus)
I freaking love this design. You made him look more like a rooster (which HB failed to do) and its not as complicated as the HB design. My only nitpick is the small little dots on his coat. Is there a point to those or do you put it there just because it looked cool?
(Love this lil guy)
Okay, so I like how you made their armband look like a heart monitor. I don't know if that was intentional, but I applaud you for that because that's so freaking clever. The wheelchair is complicated enough so that the average viewer knows what it is, but it's not too complicated that its a pian to draw. Nice happy medium there. Great design!
Mammom!
I like the colors, the green that the og had was an eyesore and made my eyes bleed. Love how his hat has a M for Mammom there. Here I admit that the details are starting to get close to what I call Vivziepop territory (where the details are starting to complicate the design) its not too bad, so you don't have to worry.
I'm guessing this is Leviathan?
Okay, so I really enjoy this design (I know I said this a lot. But your designs are very pleasing to look at.) Love his tentacle hair thing (I like to imagine it's like Entrapta's from SPOP where he can control them and uses them as extra limbs)
But yeah, this design is good for animating! Nice work!
Overall, I really liked your designs! The colors were pleasing and nice to look at, the designs were really good, the details are simple enough (for most of them) but you didn't go overboard with the detail to the point where it makes my eyes bleed haha.
Your designs are good and with some tweaks, could be good for animating!
Thanks for the ask!

what is funny about ad Reinhardt and yves Klein? i want to be let in on the joke
so yves klein was a color field painter, also known as those guys who just paint a canvas blue, all blue, all the same color of blue, and sell it for a shitton of money. actually when it came to blue, yves klein was kind of The Guy.
BLUE
but back before all the fame and the blue, he made “yves peintures,” which was a catalog of his monochromes, pictured here:
the joke is that it’s bullshit! it’s just squares of construction paper glued on the page with little titles written below them. even the preface isn’t a preface -- it’s just horizontal lines that he had a buddy of his sign with his name. one time yves klein and his art pals all hyped up a big big gallery show that he was opening. a solo exhibition! very exciting! all the critics and fancy motherfuckers showed up -- three thousand people came. with great drama, they were led into a completely empty gallery. “welcome,” yves klein said. “I call it THE SPECIALIZATION OF SENSIBILITY IN THE RAW MATERIAL STATE INTO STABILIZED PICTORIAL SENSIBILITY, LE VIDE (THE VOID).” he was, in every way, a total fucker who loved bright colors and pranking the art world.
meanwhile, ad reinhardt -- what’s ad reinhardt’s gig?
ad reinhardt’s gig is BLACK
more specifically, black-on-black grids of very slightly varying shades of black, applied in a very matte, powdery way that left the paintings with almost no sheen. it’s a pretty cool effect in person (if vantablack 2.0 had been a thing in the 50s, ad reinhardt would have busted a nut)
unfortunately, the way he did the paint makes the paintings incredibly difficult to maintain. if you touch one, the oils on your hands will immediately stain the painting, and it can’t be cleaned or repaired.
“no prob, bob,” ad reinhardt said to the flustered museum curators and collectors. “if you mess it up i’ll just replace it.”
“but what about our original ad reinhardt!” said the curators and collectors
“yeah i’ll replace it,” ad reinhardt said, “with the same original painting but not fucked up.” this caused some consternation
incidentally, he also made this small comic, which never fails to tickle me:
YOU, SIR, ARE A SPACE TOO!
one of my real favorite artworks in this vein is by robert rauschenberg, and i’m going to include the story of it because it makes me very happy. rauschenberg was an insane post-modernist -- one of his most famous pieces includes a taxidermy goat with paint thrown all over it and a car tire around its neck, that kind of thing -- and i love his piece titled “erased de kooning drawing”
so willem de kooning was the husband of elaine de kooning, who painted sick abstract expressionist portraits and was slamming hot
wow
willem was also an artist, and kind of a big deal in his own right, and friends with rauschenberg
one day rauschenberg calls him up like “hey i have an idea for a collaboration between us two art bastards. i need you to do me a drawing, in pencil”
and willem said “why”
and rauschenberg said “wouldn’t you like to know”
and willem said “why”
and rauschenberg said “because i’m gay, give it”
and willem said “that’s not a reason”
and rauschenberg said “fine, i wanna make a commentary on the value of art even after it’s destroyed and palimpsests and ephemerality and shit i guess, so i need a drawing by a famous dude to erase, and you’re famous”
willem de kooning said “okay” and proceeded to find the wettest, most difficult to erase grease pencil in his studio, which he then used to make several drawings until he came up with one he liked and sent it to rauschenberg
and to his credit, rauschenberg erased that motherfucker. he put in the effort. in a spectacular show of spite countering spite, he very nearly got rid of it all. look at this shit:
if that almost-blank piece of paper isn’t a work of art, i don’t know what is
#modern art: it's all hilarious!#all conversations written here are my own dramatized versions#rauschenberg was absolutely a giant gay though#and i don't like to speculate on the love lives of public figures but#i strongly speculate that he and jasper johns were a THING back in the day#i couldn't find confirmation of this but when i learned about yves peintures#the prof said the paper he used was paint chips from the local paint store#full cheeky fucker style#and don't forget the time yves klein made 11 identical blue canvases#put them in a gallery#gave each one a different price tag#and told everyone to find the one that spoke most to their heart#Anonymous

I did it!
I really actually did it!
I drew part of the elevator scene in Chapter 4 of Poor Little Meow Meow on Ao3!
The idea of Killer being a smug-as-f*ck asshole (even going as far as saying “you’re welcome”) after destroying the elevator panel was HILARIOUS and stuck with me even after Chapters 5 and 6 were released/added to the story!
It was something I HAD to draw and have a visual of, lol.
Here’s 63 layers of Killer, and 30 layers of elevator!
FUN FACTS!
•I hate drawing shoes when legs are crossed!
•his legs, shoelaces, socks, the ring in his SOUL, and the top of his head are all different shades of white, even though you probably can’t tell without zooming in a WHOOOOOOLE lot!
•I had to cut Killer up (heh) a bunch of times to fix his proportions (first he was too wide, then his torso was too long, then his jacket was too wide, then his arms were too long for his new body, then his arms were too thick and puffy)!
•this started out as my oldest child posing the way I wanted, and I traced the photo to get all the areas that would be shaded in marked!
•Killers body was drawn, re-sized, and colored in one piece of art, and then he was cut (heh heh) out and pasted into a whole other artwork so that I could fit him in the elevator background the size I needed him!
•I must have attempted close to 30 times to try to get the sparks right, and I’m still not completely enthused (but I’ll tell ya, it makes the time-lapse video of this artwork being made [posted on my YouTube - link to video below] kinda spectacular and look like it’s actually sparking, so whatevs)!
I could NOT decide for the life of me where to put the text, how much text to add, or if I even wanted to add text in the first place, soooooo THAT was a nightmare (no, not nightmare with a capital “N”). That’s why I’m posting a couple versions of it for your viewing pleasure!!!
And yeah, I know it’s kinda dark in the elevator, but in the story it said the lights were flickering, so I muted the colors so it would reflect that easier. IT’S ARTISTIC LIBERTY, GIMME A BREAK!
I ALSO heard, maybe, possibly, probably… that another person may have helped to work on ideas for the elevator scenario… sooooo shoutout to both @lady-of-disdain (the author) and to @calcium-supplement for instilling upon me this brain-rot that refused to go away until I could puke-out a decent image. Go support them!
It’s kinda funny which parts of a story stick out in every individuals mind… and this was just one of them for me.
I can’t WAIT to draw more for this story! I’ve still got ideas, and you just keep adding MORE ideas with every chapter you release!

Family Cuddle Pile
a/n: I actually wrote this a while ago but it was perfect for the request. Theirs like, no content for this ship an I love it so much! Thank you for reading :) @arodynamic-enby
Pairings: romantic Anxceitmus and kid!Patton also super background Logince
Warnings: tattoos, less than ideal parent mentions, food mention, and light cursing
Word count: 1,844
-----------------------------------------------
Remus flopped out of bed, throwing his body carelessly across the room. He hastily threw on his clothes. Short shorts, ripped fishnets, a vest that was more patches than original material, really big clunky shoes, and a ripped up band-t. He also hooked his favorite bone earrings in his tattered earlobes.
He stomped into his apartment’s kitchen. He grabbed a stale piece of bread he soaked it in coffee. Yawned and grabbed his bag, racing out the door.
His brother was waiting for him at the tattoo shop, sketching a new idea. Unlike him, Roman only had a few tattoos, including not one, not two, not three… but three Disney quotes, a frog on a mushroom, a rose on his arm, and a constellation. Most of his tattoos were covered by tasteful burgundy overalls and a white button-down shirt.
Remus’ tattoos were also mostly covered by his clothes. But he had a tattoo sleeve depicting the garden of Eden, a matching frog on a mushroom, a quote from one of Roman’s books, medically accurate bone structures on his hand, a realistic spider on his neck, and a snake wrapping around his non-sleeved arm. And those were just the visible ones.
Suffice to say, the twins were very different.
Remus threw his bag onto the floor in the backroom, “Ro, when’s the first appointment!!” he yelled. “Your’s? At 11. FYI, Jan n’ Pat are coming over at 12, for motivation” Remus smiled, fuckin’ superb.
He busied himself in collecting the ink and preparing the tattoo gun. The client wanted a fucking orange on their wrist, it should only take an hour or two but Remus was not excited to do a frickin’ orange circle.
The prissy orange bitch came in and Remus got to work. They didn’t move much and only cried a little bit when the needle started jabbing at their skin. Remus liked this part of the process, stabbing people consensually was his favorite thing ever… also the art part but stabbing people!
Almost exactly an hour later the door jingled open. “Dada!!” a tiny voice called back into the store. “I’ll be there in a minute patty-cake” Remus called from his spot hunched over the client's arm.
He added the final touches to the fruit and helped the orange bitch off the chair. Roman swept the client away, Remus practically ran to greet his partner and son.
Janus wore a leather corset over a black collared shirt and baggy pants, their long platinum hair framed their face under their signature hat. They were holding hands with a toddler wearing mostly pink and blue, his blond hair (that matched Janus’) was a mop of curls barely held together by a few butterfly clips.
“Dada, Dada!!! I got you a flower” the little boy cried, letting go of Janus’ hand and stumbling towards the tall man who scooped him up. Patton giggled and held out a sweaty flower clenched in his chubby fist.
Remus accepted the flower with a gasp, ”this is really for me?” he said joyfully. Adjusting the small boy in his arms Remus turned towards Janus who was looking at the pair with a disgustingly sappy expression.
“What are you lookin’ at hot stuff?” Remus teased. “Shut it you,” Janus said, pressing a kiss to Remus’ check. Patton made a noise, “icky” he said pushing Janus away. They laughed, “yes darling, we’re very icky”.
“When’s verge-“
“he’ll be home at 4”
“Dope”
“Stop by the Sleepy Café before you bring Pat to the apartment?”
“Can do scootal-lo!”
Remus turned back to the little boy in his arms, “looks like you're stuck with me squirt”. Patton beamed and snuggled into Remus’ chest. Janus smiled again, “I’ll see you, boys, at dinner,” they said, ruffling Pat's hair and peaking Remus on the lips quickly so as to not upset the toddler. “Bye-bye Janny!!” Patton called after Janus as they left for work.
“Righty-o,” Remus said, carrying Patton into the back room. “I know Ro’s got a couple coloring books, wanna do those for a bit?” Patton nodded and reached towards the ground to be put down. Remus plopped Patton on the couch and pulled out the book and pens as well as a sketchbook off his own. They sat together coloring and drawing until Roman came back to hug Patton.
“Ah, my favorite nephew!” Roman said, scooping up the little boy. Patton laughed and pulled Roman’s hair. “Roro, can I color your arm pictures??” he asked, pointing to Roman’s rose tattoo. Roman plopped the toddler back down on the couch and handed him a pen.
Patton went to work on the rose, scribbling reds and pinks and greens across his arm. Roman gave him complements each time Patton paused, and each time Patton shushed him and went back to work. Remus finished up his sketch, adding it to the pile of tattoo ideas they were eventually going to put up-front, and sat next to the toddler.
“That’s really good pat-”
“Shhhhhhhh”
Remus nodded and mimed zipping his lips. He liked spending time with the kid. They weren’t biologically related but who gives a fuck about blood, unless it’s outside of your body, then it’s fun.
---------------------------------------------------------------
“I don’ wanna” Patton wined his dad sighed “I know bubbles but we gotta go home to Papa and Janny, isn’t that fun” Patton considered this, “but Roro’s pretty arm picture” he argued. Remus scratched the back of his neck, “Pffffff- Ummm, how about this, we go home now and I’ll take you back to the shop tomorrow after pre-school”
Patton brightened considerably, “ok” he chirped. “up please” the toddler’s chubby hands reached towards Remus who obediently scooped him up with a coo. After all who was he to say no to uppy hands.
“See ya tomorrow, have fun on your date with the nerd” Remus sang as he snatched his bag juggling the still fussy Patton in his other arm. “Fu- Frick off Re. Say hi to your partners for me,” Romans said affectionately and waved as his twin left the building.
Remus happily trotted out into the road. The tattoo shop was located on a quaint little street in the more commercial segment of their town only a short walk from Janus’ job.
A light drizzle floated around them and the air was warm and comforting. Patton squealed as a large drop of water hit him in the head, prompting a laugh from Remus.
A jingle sounded through the peaceful cafe, the brown room was illuminated by those cool old fashion lights and a lovely array of pastries made the air smell of chocolate and blueberry scones. But the scones, as delicious as they were, weren’t the snack Remus was here for
“Hey babe- Remus why are you soaking wet”
“Puddle” Patton screeched.
“Kid’s right, Puddle.”
Janus pinched their eyebrows, “ya know what, I’m not even surprised anymore. Just make sure Patton doesn’t catch a cold” they scolded.
Remus nodded and saluted in mock seriousness, “yes captain” he said and pressed a kiss to Janus’ face over the cash register, “I’ll see ya in a bit” Remus grinned and led Patton back out of the cafe.
Janus sighed lovingly as they watched their boyfriend and son turn to cross the street, Patton’s hand clasped around Remus’ happily. “Stop looking so happy, you're scaring the customers” Remy teased from across the counter. “Ha, Ha,” Janus glared and went back to work”
Janus’ apartment was a cute two-bedroom space on the fourth floor of the building. The furniture was an interesting combo of vintage and things from the side of the road. The vintage parts came from their parent’s house, their father had died two years after Janus’ had run away and hadn’t thought to write them out of the will.
The three of them had made a date out of customizing the few pieces that Janus wanted to keep. The customization mainly included darkening everything and adding more gothic touches. Virgil had done the fabrics, Remus the painting, and Janus moral support/ director.
The three partners had also painted the kitchen/dining room/living room black with one yellow wall. Janus and Virgil’s room was dark purple instead of black with highlights in the same yellow. Patton’s room was the only one that didn’t look marginally like a cave.
The walls were a cream-yellow that lit up in the morning sunlight. After Janus announced that they were going to have a baby Remus had spent three hours painting the grey ceiling with white fluffy clouds. It was one of his favorite projects.
Patton of course had no regard for the work put into the entirety of his home and was the usual menace of a toddler. And today a toddler with cheerios, truly a sight even god would tremble before.
Remus plopped down next to Patton who was pushing cheerios around his highchair tray with an intense focus. He smiled at the little boy and flicked on the tv, “got any requests pip-squeak?” Remus asked. Patton looked thoughtful, “dead lady!!” he cried excitedly hitting the tray with his fists, cheerios flew everywhere. Remus nodded, understanding, “Corpse bride coming up!” he picked a few cheerios from the couch “you really are Verge’s kid”
When Janus got home Patton was curled up on Remus’s chest. Both slept soundly despite the dead folk on the screen in front of them singing about the wedding.
Janus smiled, their family was fucking adorable. They slipped off their shoes and snuggled up into Remus who hummed happily and pulled Janus into the hug still asleep.
----------------------------------------
Three hours later Virgil trudged up the four flights of stairs huffing indignantly with each step. Of course, he could take the elevator… but it might break down and he would be stuck for hours. Or someone could get into the elevator with him and he would have to interact with a stranger. So stairs it was.
He rummaged around his baggy hoodie, running his fingers through his dark purple hair in annoyance when he couldn’t find the key. Once he found it Virgil carefully (as he did everything) opened the apartment door. His combat books clunked satisfyingly against the hardwood floors as he entered his house. Virgil felt the tension leave his muscles, he was home. He glanced across the room, looking for his family.
Virgil’s face lit up like a god damned Christmas tree.
Across the room, both his partners and his son were curled up sleeping happily. Drool covered Remus’ face and Janus was snoring, they were the most precious thing Virgil had seen all freakin day.
The three of them woke as Virgil wrapped his arms around them, Patton squealed in excitement. “Hello, darling” Janus mumbled sleepily into Virgil’s arm. Remus just groaned and nestled into the hug. The toddler wriggled between his dads squealing profusely. “Shhh, s’ sleepy time” Remus mumbled, rolling deeper into the cuddle pile and shutting Patton up.
Virgil smiled and pressed a kiss to his partner’s cheek. “Mmm, love you” they purred. “Love you too Jan,” Virgil said, nestling his face in their neck. Virgil knew he would have to start dinner soon but that could wait, for now, cuddles.
