Agents of SHIELD Rewatch Season 2B (ep. 11-22)

It's been months, but the rewatches are back!

Here's my commentary on my rewatch of Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episodes 11-22. This may not be the best commentary since these are just the thoughts and opinions that come to my mind as I watch the episodes rather than a full-blown analysis, but I'm just having fun with it!

2x11 Aftershocks

This is also the first set of rewatches on Disney+, and you can't skip the recaps, so I get to watch Trip crumble to pieces TWICE in one episode. Making me cry this weekend, why don't you.

Baby Gordon! Also, this flashback scene takes place in 1983, which means it's probably not that long before Kora dies. It's crazy to look back on this scene after s7, knowing that Kora currently exists in that flashback.

Also, JIAYING!! She's still one of my favorite characters.

I want Jiaying to hug me and comfort me and tell me everything is going to be alright.

"They would be lost" as it cuts to Skye😭

AND THERE'S the second Trip crumbling of the day.

Skye... why are you wearing shoes in bed?

Just gonna say this now, Chloe's performance in this episode is *chef's kiss*

I remember watching this episode for the first time and just being absolutely devastated we didn't have Trip anymore. I'm still devastated.

So, why was Raina going on a killing spree in the temple?

Also, I miss big sister Bobbi with the quarantine survival kit.

Skye's heart monitor is literally going off the rails, signifying that her heart rate is dangerously high, yet no one heard or noticed?

The plan for Bakshi to "escape" is both ridiculous and hilarious.

Okay, but what would have May's version of the plan been like?

Also Bobbi just casually wheeling her motorcycle out.

Okay, I understand where Jemma is coming from and her fears surrounding it, but I feel like she shouldn't have blown up in front of Skye, who was affected by all of this. Again, I totally understand Jemma's reaction, I just feel like talking about this as an epidemic and something dangerous isn't something to be said in front of someone who is affected.

Ooh, Raina, don't call his daughter a bitch.

Cal's little happy dance😂

It's sad hearing Cal talk about his plan, knowing what we know about Jiaying later.

"I can't live like this" "Then don't" Damn, this got dark quick, and it's just gonna get darker.

Props to Ruth Negga for putting on amazing performances while having to deal with all those thorns.

Hunter is a better spy than the show gave him credit for. Sure, he's made pretty shitty choices, but he's pretty good at the job. He was suspicious of Bobbi and Mack the whole time.

Also, the only part that makes this season hard to watch is the whole 'Real Shield' thing and the way Bobbi and Mack are around the team, which sucks cause I love Mack and Bobbi. They're literally my favorite characters after Daisy and May.

Oh Mack, you do so much more than just 'working on Lola one day'.

Again, talking about putting Raina down in front of Skye? I understand Jemma, but there are just some things you shouldn't talk about in front of someone who was just traumatized due to the same experience as said person you want to put down.

Did anyone else notice that the music Skye is listening to on headphones is the same score used during the Ghost Rider pod in season 4?

300bpm, that's 5 beats per second. For reference, my resting heart rate at this current moment is 90bpm, which is 1.5 beats per second. Skye's heart rate at the time of the collapse was roughly 3.33 times faster than my current heart rate.

"That's inhuman" we love to see it.

Again, can we not tell Skye that something's wrong with her?

I made a post about this a while ago, but besides the fact that her powers may have just been exposed, Skye might have been nervous about the broken glass because of what happened with the crystal decanter she broke at a foster home, which she mentions in like 6 episodes.

Also, I love these soft May moments. The way she goes from comforting Skye to freaking out in a protective manner over the fact that she's bleeding.

The way Trip's mom just knew😭

If you follow me, you know my opinions on Fitz and my disdain for him, and I don't agree with the fact that Fitz kept telling Skye to hide her powers as she could have gotten help sooner, but "You're just different now, and there's nothing wrong with that" will forever be one of my favorite lines from the show.

2x12 Who You Really Are

Welcome back, Lady Sif! I loved seeing her in Loki, and I really hope we get her back in Thor: Love and Thunder (was it ever confirmed that she was going to be in it? I can't remember).

The May and Skye sparring scene... *chef's kiss*

"I didn't want to hurt you" and then May's gesture that's just like "You think you can?"😂

Also, THAT transition

In canon, how did they get that picture during 1x15?😅

Why did they have to make the Kree's weapon look like a mallet you would beat meat with? lol.

So, now the ICERs are dangerous? I don't remember them saying dangerous for some reason, and now I feel for Skye with the after-effects after she shoots herself later in the episode.

"I can" Love that May is crushing on Thor. And just Coulson's face after she says that haha.

"I learned this as a child, did you not?"

Agents of SPOOF has forever ruined the scene where they find the Kree cause I can no longer watch this scene without the song "Blue" going through my head.

I love the parallel they make in s7 of Kora's gun quaking apart to Skye's in this episode, even if Kora wasn't the one causing the quakes.

I love how Sif was about to explain the concept of a key to Coulson.

Yes, Mack is a pretty boy.

The zoom in on the water glass. The way water glasses have become something of a symbol for Daisy's powers!

The way May just knew the shaking was from Skye and that something was up all along.

Love how May and Coulson don't even think twice about grabbing Skye and standing in front of her.

Why Bambino for the name of the "I know what it does" weapon?😂

Mack just goes from "we'll decide what she is😠" to "Tremors🤩" and I love that.

May grabbed her and ran, and then she took a knee and got on Skye's level, just as a special someone had once told her to do🥺

No one talks about the May and Daisy scene in this episode enough. Just the way May says "Skye" tells you everything about their relationship and how much they care.

It's there for a split second, but the way May just softly touches Skye and moves her hair😩 (I'm obviously touched starved, can't you tell? lol)

Ugh, I always hate that line from Mack given his and Daisy's amazing relationship later. You can see the regret on his face when he sees her though. Ugh, can we just move on from the painful parts, please?

2x13 One of Us

"I'm stopping them before they start" Oh, Skye, baby. If only you knew what you were doing to yourself.

May's thoughts: "Is he really asking me to contact my ex right now?"

And there he is, Dr. Andrew Garner, the husband blueprint.

Also, Andrew is a great therapist, laying down the rules for treating Skye.

Love that Lian May still likes Andrew and invites him over for dinner despite her daughter having been divorced from him for years. I mean, I would too.

This is an Andrew Garner appreciation blog.

Here's one of the one-liners we get of Daisy's past in the foster system. Never will forgive the writers for just forgetting this major part of Daisy and having the characters treat her like she didn't have this trauma as well.

Also love how even Andrew grew a soft spot for Skye/Daisy as time went on.

"I'm not suicidal" UGHHHHH SEASON 2 WHY YOU GOTTA DO ME LIKE THIS. SEASON 4 IS COMING UGHHHHHH. Glad they care for her this season. You will hear from me more on this when we get to s4a cause I have A LOT to say about how they treated Daisy.

Did we ever establish EXACTLY was the photo on Andrew's desk?

Love how we found out that May can't cook and just ran with it in fanfics😅

Fitzsimmons gossiping about May and Andrew is such a mood.

That kid filming with his iPhone is the only realistic thing in this show.

NOT THE BIRDS

Mack, imma have to disagree with you on that. I actually like pineapple on pizza.

As much as I absolutely love the 'May and Coulson are Daisy's adoptive parents' fics, where are all the 'May and Andrew are Daisy's adoptive parents' fics? Cause the way Skye talked to them, convincing them to let her go, just gave me 'daughter talking to her parents' vibes.

Skye's shaking can be because she's scared and it works, but given that you can see everyone's breath, it was probably, no doubt, freezing cold when they filmed the football field fight.

I totally forgot Bobbi was hiding under the bleachers. That made me laugh😂

THAT👏🏼 MAY👏🏼 POWER👏🏼 WALK👏🏼

Again, I JUST WANT TO HOLD BABY SKYE. She's over here watching the people she cares about the most destroy people who are gifted just like her.

Can we talk about the May and Coulson Worried Parent™ running?

2x14 Love in the Time of Hydra

You know, I really liked this stretch of episodes without Ward. Now, he's back. Gross.

I also just feel really bad for Kara

Look at that, the only time the MCU actually might have looked at Bruce's mental health and how he might actually not want the Hulk. Did we all just forget about how he said he tried to kill himself in The Avengers?

Not Fitz talking about being glad that certain people don't have choices the better themselves.

Watching May and Coulson talk about taking Skye out of the picture so she can better control her powers, knowing that something is up with Bobbi and Mack, is really neat. They were always thinking ahead.

"Off to see the wizard"

There are so many parts of this episode, I honestly have no idea what's going on lol.

The team canonically had karaoke nights.

The whole 'Real Shield' thing is so frustrating. Like, I understand some aspects of what they are saying, even Coulson later agreed, but their execution is just terrible.

Wait, so Jemma knew that there were going to be repercussions of the casts she made for Skye?

Thinking about all the flashbacks Skye was having when Coulson told her to "pack a bag"🥺 You can just see it in the way her face totally drops and the shaky breath she takes.

LOLA BACKSTORY

I will never get over May's voice coming out of Skye's mouth. This whole scene is just weird and creepy😣

I'm just tired of Ward justifying everything he's done wrong on his past when Daisy had gone through a rough upbringing as well, and she came out the most selfless person ever. She didn't become a little murderer.

"You seem so well adjusted" EXCUSE ME. DID YOU JUST SAY THAT ABOUT WARD???

Not gonna lie, Ward and Kara breaking into Talbot's base does make me laugh. It's just so chaotic.

Talbot's soldiers have to go through so much haha😅

"If there is one thing I cannot stand, it is a spy in my house" and the cut to Mack OMG.

Does Mack really think he can outsmart THE Melinda May?

Kara punching Bakshi was very satisfying.

At the time of rewatching this episode, I had rewatched (again) all of season 1 and prior episodes of season 2 (just so it says I watched them on Disney+), but I never noticed in 2x02 how Coulson told Hunter that there were people he trusted that vouched for him and that 'people' was Bobbi.

"I'm just trying to fix her!" UGHHH THIS LINE HURTS EVERY TIME. SIMMONS WHY? I LOVE YOU BUT THE XENOPHOBIA HURTSSS.

Not the edible arrangements😂

Again, feel so sorry for Kara.

2x15 One Door Opens

THE WAY BOBBI BUSTS THROUGH THE DOORS. YES QUEENNN!

I wish we got more Hartley before she died.

"The path we've chosen, makes you forget your lines sometimes" is one of my favorite bloopers.

Gotta hand it to Coulson's quick thinking.

Love how Bobbi knew it was safer to just break through glass than to voluntarily fight May.

Also, May and Bobbi fight... *chef's kiss*

When did Bobbi and/or Mack have the time to put a monitor in a fire extinguisher that's out in the open?

I don't understand the logistics of the casts. Like, I know it suppresses the powers, but like, what makes it so Skye feels woozy? Like, that should have been something to note.

As someone who hates horror movies, the very not-that-scary horror-esc scene/buildup did kinda scare me the first time I watched haha.

If I opened my front door, and some guy like Gordan was standing there, I would have screamed and shut the door right then and there.

Gordan is aware of exactly who Skye is, right? I wonder if he knew her during the few months before Whitehall. I mean, he had known Jiaying since at least 1983, and she wasn't born until 1988.

Also, I wonder if Gordan ever thought about Kora during those moments with Skye, a girl who was scared of herself and didn't have an idea of how to control her abilities.

SMART GIRL JEMMAAAA

They don't want secrets, but they're willing to break into a base, potentially hurting a lot of people? Again, Real Shield frustrates me.

Skye discovering new aspects of her powers will always be my favorite part of the episode.

Fitz and Simmons holding hands and being there for each other after Real Shield invades is sweet.

And people don't understand why Skye wanted to stay at Afterlife more than Shield. May wasn't able to finish, so Skye believed all of Shield was after her. Then, of course, she was chased through the woods and shot at.

May is the dictionary picture of loyalty.

Why is Coulson being sent down that elevator so funny?😅

Damn, I really hate Calderon.

Again, Skye only attacked to protect herself. SHIELD ATTACKED FIRST.

Love how much Bobbi still cares about Skye. The scream of her name was pure terror for her.

And there's the quake shield! Shame we only see her use her powers like that again in the series finale.

So, does Skye just not remember arriving at Afterlife? Did she like pass out as soon as she and Gordon got there?

2x16 Afterlife

Thank you Coulson for icing that guy cause that actor (the car salesman) is a pedophile (I know this cause he was the dad/grandfather on Andi Mack and they had to cut him out of the show)

What was the point of having Skye in two pieces of cloth?

And there's Mr. Battery Pack Lincoln Campbell.

Thank you Bobbi for defending Skye.

How would you have been invited IF COULSON DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

So Jemma and Fitz made their plan pretty early on given that Jemma didn't have much of a reaction about Fitz "packing his things"

The little foreshadowing to the following episode with Bahrain!

Hunter waking up like that is a mood.

Hunter is a whole mood this whole episode actually.

So, those shield agents were there with the battering ram for an hour? I'd give up after like five minutes.

After season 3, I know that Daisy and Lincoln weren't ready for the relationship they could have had at the time, but I will admit that they're cute. He's the one who convinced her that her powers could be a good thing. It's nice to see someone caring about her.

You mention Trip, and I will start crying.

AND THERE'S JIAYING

Skye knows there's a connection between her and Jiaying.

Is Lincoln aware of the relationship?

That scene hurt knowing that Jiaying lost Daisy, but watching this after s7 and knowing she's also hurting because of Kora, it hurts even more. UGHHHH WHY DOES THIS SHOW MAKE ME FEEL FEELINGS.

Hunter just wants to go to Mexico.

2x17 Melinda

May and Andrew were such a good-looking couple.

THEY WANTED TO HAVE A FAMILY AND HAVE KIDSSS😭😭

"Best Security System in the World" yes she is.

Thinking about how Coulson wanted to bring May onto the Avengers Initiative with him.

Okay, but how cool/emotional/sad would it have been if we got a young Eva Belyakov in season 7 when they went to Afterlife?

The fact that Skye is still trying to justify SHIELD and blame herself when Jiaying is trying to make her see that she had every right to fire back IN DEFENSE. And people wonder why Skye """turned""" on SHIELD.

The Quake theme when she causes the avalanche. Ugh, I will never not get emotional when I hear that theme.

May's smile when she first sees Katya😭 WHY DOES THIS EPISODE HAVE TO HURT!!

I really feel bad for Raina.

The water glasses is making me season 7 emotional. (7x10, why did you have to be so sad???)

Another reason I love this episode aside from the Bahrain backstory is that it actually touches upon Daisy's trauma with foster care and abandonment and actually acknowledges what it has done to her character instead of ignoring it and treating her like shit.

*26 Skye. You're 26. (Though Chloe I'm pretty sure was only 22 or 23 when filming this episode)

JIAYING KNOWS YOUR BIRTHDAY SKYE!!!

"You were born on July 2nd." And I'm going to go cry now.

Dichen and Chloe's acting and emotion in this scene is just phenomenal!!

"I was too afraid to hope"

Why did the universe allow people to hurt Jiaying and Daisy?

"Shield is not authorized for any action" *one second later* "Go"

"Bio always works" foreshadowing for 4x14!

The whole "Get down on her level or grab her and run like hell" scene is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, and seeing this happen in 2x12, ugh I really love this show.

"Do good Melinda, but come home"

I know I haven't said too much on the Bahrain flashback, but I'm just so invested in it. Seeing the famous backstory of May come to fruition... it's all so amazing and painful all at the same time.

I always have and always will love May, and I understand May being upset that Coulson was keeping secrets from her, like seeing Andrew for counseling about the alien writing, but I feel like she was a little too harsh with him given the secrets she kept from him last season. I know that was for his own protection, but still. Again, I still feel like May has every right to be upset. Just the way she went about it just felt like an uncalled for reverse of last season. Just my opinion.

Were they trying to have some sort of romance thing between Gordan and Raina? I don't know... the whole "I can take you to amazing places" just gave me that vibe.

The connection between Jiaying and Bahrain is so chilling every single time.

AND THE KATYA REVEAL. There are so many moments from the show I want to watch for the first time again, and that is one of them. The realization for the audience and both May on what has to be done. Again, CHILLING.

I'm a more casual Philinda shipper, but I still love their friendship so much. The way Coulson ignored the Bahrainian forces and pushed past them when he heard the gunshot and went in for May. You can just see that friendship so clearly.

If I'm remembering correctly, Daisy must have been AT LEAST over six months old when she was dropped off at the orphanage. I'm pretty sure she was more. A six month old is very different from a newborn baby. How did they mess up her age by A WHOLE YEAR??

"He is a monster" "He was good once" THE FACT THAT THIS ALSO APPLIES TO JIAYING!! I feel so bad for her. Jiaying deserved better.

AND RAINA IS THE TRUE CLAIRVOYANT *cue the That's So Raina clip from Agents of SPOOF*

Way to go, Hunter. You've made it to Mexico!

I don't think I said this last episode, but I loved the Coulson-Hunter teamup.

2x18 Frenemy of My Enemy

The way Hunter is just avoiding eye contact with Fitz when Ward is mentioned lol.

Sad watching Cal like this, knowing Jiaying wants to send him away.

Again, was Lincoln aware of the relationship between Skye and Jiaying prior to this?

The Bobbi and Mack sparring scene is pretty cool too.

The "Simmons, what did you do" had May giving a hard Mom Face™

"Hey, baby😏" "Hey, sweetie😃"

That little interaction between Kara and Mike is so funny to me for some reason.

The whole Coulson wanting to use TAHITI on Ward still confuses me. Like yeah, Ward won't remember he was bad, but what about him being wanted?? Did Coulson have a plan for that?

I understand Jiaying has reservations against Raina, and rightfully so, cause of what she knows from Cal and Skye, but it still rubs me weird that she is questioning the existence of her gift knowing that anyone can be the first of their kind like Gordon.

From this point forward, the rest of the points are written like a month later cause school sucks, but it’s summer vacation now, so I have time finally!

So have Kara and Ward just been planning revenge on Bobbi for like a while or something?

Yes, Ward. That house is your last.

We love Mike cock-blocking them cause... gross.

I love Cal. Just want to say that again.

I want more of Cal and Jiaying's love story. But then again, it'll probably make the whole thing even more sad than it already is and make me cry even harder.

Also funny how Skye was going to be brought up in the same state Coulson was born in.

“And I empathize" IF THIS DOESN'T EXPLAIN DAISY'S WHOLE CHARACTER I DON'T KNOW WHAT DOES.

SHUT THE FUCK UP WARD

I sort of kinda like Fitz and Simmons relationship in these later episodes of season 2 and the trust they are willing to put into each other.

JIAYING WANTED TO BE A DOCTOR😭

Cal wanted Skye to go to a charter school. Fun fact: I attended a charter school. Honestly, don't know what makes a chater school a charter school, but to me, my school was if you mixed a private school and public school and it was K-12. We wore uniforms, but there wasn't a tuition and it was opened to the public. You just had to be put onto a waiting list and you got in by lottery. I got in in 5th grade and graduated high school from there in 2019.

This scene reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean scene for some reason.

So, no one saw Mike's gun come out and go back in?

Cal complaining about capitalism is a mood.

“I'm kidding... sort of" about the liquor.

Skye's pickpocketing skills!!!!

Skye got the neopolatin ice cream sandwich. Love that for her.

See Lincoln, you could be a spy.

Hunter referring quantum entaglement as torture has the same energy as Scott Lang thinking of quantum entaglement as something sexual.

I find it weird that Cal wanted to show the tools used to put Jiaying together. It might just be me, but I would be creeped out.

Does Lincoln have any previous fighting experience? Cause he acts fast and knows what to do with his powers.

Also, despite everything, Skye still has faith in SHIELD and knows its Hydra.

It's cliche, but Skye falling on top of Lincoln is kinda cute.

Ward is still obsessed with Skye if he willingly followed Coulson like that.

I'd be a little pissed if I saw someone I trusted with Ward too, not gonna lie.

The way Skye was going to reunite with Coulson before Gordon got her🥺

2x19 The Dirty Half Dozen

Excited for this one. One of my favorite episodes from this season.

Jiaying has such a maternal feel to her, which I love, but I always find it funny when she comforts Raina knowing that Ruth Negga is actually older than Dichen Lachman (only by like a month though).

I understand Jiaying's anger towards Cal after he revealed Skye's identity and relation to her when she had wanted that hidden.

Were there always those bright lights in the Cage? Cause it was always dark in there.

“I like seeing my Bus" I just remembered this is the last episode with the Bus, which continues to be my favorite SHIELD base/aircraft.

User-Friendly Cal™

I totally understand Jiaying's fears, but there are also the "never leave a man behind" values that Skye has.

So Mike and Lincoln are in the same cells that Wanda and Pietro were in, right? At least the same facility.

Love Mike's sarcasm.

Having to say "Hail Hydra" after every phone call must be annoying.

“Dazzled"

Coulson translation: "I'm taking my og team cause I love them and they're mine. Except for Ward, he's more of an inconvenience, but I need to use him"

There are windows other than the cockpit of the quinjet?

Don't worry Hunter, I'd be nauseous looking at Ward and Kara together.

Can May beat the shit out of Ward again? Please.

My Team™

I realized I haven't said much about Gonzalez. Is there even much to say?

I don't know if Coulson really had to tell May about seeing Andrew. Yeah, it hits a more personal nerve, I get that, and May can be upset, but I understand Coulson not wanting to discuss his own medical records.

Don't like Gonzalez saying the agents going on the mission are worth the risk, saying that they are more expendable than Bobbi. Bobbi's not expendable either, but I think you get what I'm saying.

THE OGs!

Jemma's first question being "Are you making friends?"🥺

I love the entire team death staring Ward.

“I'm still happy I shot you" ME TOO.

Jemma, Fitz, AND MAY agreeing with Skye is a whole mood.

“Ward, just no more talking to people" Yes, please shut him up.

That little comment about needles was all Kara needed from Bobbi.

Thinking about how they all had to pack their belongings from the Bus aka Skye's first real home.

And goodbye Bus. You were a great part of the show, and I will forever miss you.

“Really starting to wish I hadn't eaten that Hot Pocket earlier" is such a random line and I love it.

Also thinking about all the chaos the cast had while filming this scene. Between Chloe and Clark with the fart machine and Brett doing a little too much when they were "falling", I just love these cast moments.

Also an appreciation for Ponytail May.

Ward's confusion with Skye's powers will always be funny to me though.

“So that's what happened in Puerto Rico."

I also always think about how StaticQuake was a little interesting and weird for Chloe as she has a younger brother who is actually named Lincoln.

Ward's confusion and sass are enjoyable in this episode. A little. Only a little. Like a smidge.

ALSO THE ONE-SHOT FIGHT!!!

Chloe deserves all the recognition for that fight scene, especially since she broke her arm during it.

“Either come with me now or you're next" "Okay, after you" Always listen to Melinda May.

Bobbi and Mack's happiness when the mission is a success is nice though.

Skye staying with Lincoln is giving major Sousa staying with Daisy vibes.

I wonder if the man's son Raina talked about eventually did go through the mist. I mean, he must have if Raina saw it. I'm just wondering when.

Oh yeah, this is the episode that introduced the monolith, that damn thing.

Okay, but why did SHIELD decide to keep the monolith from Hydra instead of, you know, destroying it.

People always are harsh towards Skye for siding with the inhumans for a bit there and uses it as an excuse to hate on her, but the way May and Coulson are already taking about the inhumans, asking "are they people" could give Skye the impression of what they may view her as. They kinda throw away her connection to the people and not listen to her when she tries to explain why she trusts them. Honestly, Skye has no reason to trust SHIELD right now as they chased her through the woods not too long ago.

I don't agree with Skye throwing Bahrain at May like that as she knows the trauma May has with it, but people also use it as another excuse to hate on Skye. May was egging her on, telling her the inhumans were dangerous. Yes, they were scared of the monolith. Another example of no one listening to Skye. Again, I don't think Skye should have thrown that at May, but I don't exactly use it against her overall character when May and Coulson were putting all that onto Skye.

Here they go with the Indexing. This is the part I don't agree with Coulson one bit. Indexing those with powers is a violation, and the show itself shows why it's a bad thing during season 4 with the Sokovia Accords.

I'm always indecisive if Gonzalez going in instead of Coulson was a good idea. Coulson is too close to the situation with Skye, but Gonzalez's views of these people are all wrong.

That "May" and Bobbi leaving scene was way too quick that the signs weren't there and may for an interesting reveal.

And here's Mack's first attempt at quitting. Wait til he finds out he's Director in 2019.

Fun fact for those who may not know, the actress who played Alisha (the multiplier), Alicia Vela-Bailey, is also the stunt double for Bobbi and her husband (I don't know his name) was the stunt double for Ward, so the fight between them in the finale is essentially a husband and wife fight.

I love May, she's my favorite after Daisy, but her totally disregarding the fact that Gonzalez did in fact send agents to contain and possibly kill Skye rubs me the wrong way. Does that count as gaslighting? Another reason Skye was more inclined to side with the inhuman than SHIELD.

“I hope your mother was everything you wanted her to be" always hits me, especially when Daisy brings it back in 7x10.

The turn with Jiaying almost feels sudden, but the episodes leading up have small clues. Also, she's right. Her scars from Hydra are much deeper and painful than Gonzalez's.

There's a certain type of feeling hearing Jiaying, a victim, quote Whitehall, her absuer. It's creepy, but you know shit is about to go down.

I see so many reactors and podcasters call Skye stupid for siding with the inhumans, but from her side, it looks like SHIELD shot at Jiaying. She had no way of knowing. Given SHIELD's record at this point, I'd probably have the same reaction.

2x21 S.O.S. Part 1

Lincoln's little slide to Jiaying is funny to me. I don't know why.

I'll never understand Jiaying's order for the inhumans to fire on themselves. That is literally getting your people hurt.

And now the blame for "SHIELD" hurting the inhumans is all put on Skye. Someone please just tell this girl that none of this is her fault.

And a SHIELD agent literally shot an inhuman right in front of Skye. People really need to stop saying Skye chose wrong. She has no reason to believe SHIELD.

To be fair, Skye chose based on how people have been treating her.

Surprised Jiaying didn't have much of a reaction to hearing her daughter had been shot before. She was literally on the verge of death.

As someone who hates needles, Ward putting those needles in Bobbi's fingers always makes me feel sick.

“It's her usefulness" Don't really like Skye's value being her use.

“There's always someone else to blame" And there's Ward's entire character arc cause he can never take responsibility for his own morals and actions.

Also, Jiaying, say bye to your daughter cause you just lost her trust.

This was the one time (I think) that Jiaying called her Daisy by her birth name in front of her.

I'm about to theorize about Jiaying's power. We know she can drain life, but then season 7 comes around, and it is implied that she can give life to heal others. So basically, is Jiaying like a holder for life? Like a container? She can drain life, but she hangs onto it, causing her to not age, until she is needed to heal someone else? Just a thought.

It's always small moments of May's expression going really soft that really show you how much she cares about her team. I love that she shows her love for them through her actions, but these small moments are really nice too.

I wanna know more about specialists like May's medical ability as May seemed to tend to Bobbi on the way back to base. Obviously, I feel like CPR is must from all agents, but like, to what extent at Operations were they taught medical treatments?

Jiaying is such a great character. I constantly feel sorry for what has happened to her and who she eventually became.

Would just like to mention, Seasons 4 and 7 might be the most enjoyable seasons for me to watch, but season 2 will always have a special place in my heart. Not just cause Daisy is my favorite character, but being Half-Asian myself, seeing a Half-Asian character like Daisy discover herself and really dive deep into her heritage is something that’s just so special to me. I could go on and on how Daisy has made me feel seen and made me want to connect more with my Filipino heritage, but there just aren’t enough words to describe it. Just wanted to leave this here about why I love season 2 so much.

Finally managed to watch the final season of Agents of Shield. Truly a time travel adventure worth waiting for, although I would have prefered to have seen it on actual TV and not “Disney Plus”.

It’s definitely a season that understands its finality, opting for a jaunt through SHEILD’s history with the not-so-subtle aim of getting some more fun references and bringing back old characters. Indeed, the first three seasons get a lot of love, with the return of John Garrett, Jiaying, and even the Malicks and their wacky squid cult. There’s also another Koenig, more Hydra, Shield and Chromicon agents than you can shake a time drive at, along with some guy from Agent Carter. (Also: fun alternate title sequences, including a fully fledged 70′s style sequence.)

Okay, Daniel Sousa isn’t just some guy, but as with all these big interconnected things, the whole “look it’s the guy“ bit doesn’t work if you don’t know who he is. However, the season does a lot to make sure he’s a fully realised character even if you don’t know the backstory. In fact, the whole Daniel/Daisy relationship subplot works pretty well, considering it had to fit into ten episodes between other things. You’d think adding in a new team member in the final season wouldn’t work, but it did. Sousa has his whole “out of time“ deal going on, but he’s also very ernestly good, even in the face of the wacky Agents of Shield problems. Like the time loop episode. Daisy says there’s a time loop and Sousa is like “well how are we fixing this“.

Really if I had to pick out a weak point for this season, it would be the villains. The Chromicons’ motivations are a bit weird, since you’d think with all this time travel and advanced technology they could do a better plan than “retgone Shield and take over the new timeline“. Also, even with all their fancy predictions, they basically lose constanty. Eventually, they have Natheniel Malick as an ally, who trades in his old fate for being Alveus bait to become a discount Mr. Sinister for Inhumans. And also a Quake knock-off. I think he lacks a certain menacing presence, and really he gets narratively side-lined by Kora, Daisy’s not technically evil half-sister. Kora herself mostly works, but her whole plotline would probably have benefitted from another episode or two of space, since she goes from “grr, Daisy and Shield bad“ to “actually I love my new sister“ pretty quickly. Her motivations are little shaky, but that does line up with how she clearly didn’t have long term plans that involved being alive at the point where she was introduced.

The rest of the team also continues to move forward. Coulson now has to deal with being a robot, May gets weird empathy powers, Yo-yo has to deal with her (newly introduced) Backstory Issues and Deke uses his time travel knowledge for good rather than self-enrichment. But also for self-enrichment. Also Mack’s parents die in the alternate timeline. Oof. As always, the cast has a lot of fun interactions, with a lot of different dynamics. Then Enoch dies again and this time it’s a lot more sad. It all leads up the very last “where are they now“ scene, where we see that everyone who survived got their happy ending. Yay!

Also there’s a Fitzsimmons baby! It seemed likely when Malick did the evil mind-meld, and became incredibly obvious in the final episode. Not much Fitz in this season incidentally, but it got an in-universe justification which is nice. Hooray for the dorks in love. Best ship, OTP and all that.

All in all, Agents of Shield is still probably the best live-action superhero show I’ve watched. I like the characters (even Deke), I like the stories, and honestly I like how it became its own thing detached from the MCU. Season seven provides a cool conclusion to the show, with a happy ending that the characters earned.

Fitz didn't survive almost drowning

Ward wasn't recruited by Garrett, but by literally any non-Hydra agent so he is a good guy

Coulson and May listened to the agent telling them to not send May in at Bahrain, heaven knows what happens there

the government gives the Avengers more than a week to go through the Accords, so they all get to the enhanced-people-have-to-wear-trackers, giant-underwater-prison, enhanced-operatives-can't-investigate-politicians, no-trial-for-enhanced, no-investigation-for-enhanced, etc sections so they all decide to not sign and just don't care what the government says

Loki comes to Earth and becomes an Avenger and all but only ever introduces himself as DB Cooper. Thor doesn't ever come to Earth, so everyone just thinks DB Cooper found the secret to not age and just showed up to save people. he disappears for stretches of time & everyone stops being confused bc he was in hiding for decades of course no one's gonna find him (he is actually on Asgard)

Daisy/Daniel Fic

Daniel learns about Jiaying and her connection to Daisy.

Daniel heard them first. Raised voices, one belonging to Daisy and the other Simmons. Last Daniel knew, Daisy had still been unconscious, and despite the circumstances prompting the raised voices, he felt a rush of relief. At least she was feeling well enough to yell.

“I have to go after them! You know what happened last time SHIELD agents went there.”

“You are in no state to go anywhere,” Simmons said, her voice stern. “And besides, we’re here before. It’s safe.”

There was a pause, and Daisy said, “Before? You mean-”

“Yes. It’s before Whitehall.”

There was another long pause, and Simmons said, “You can’t see her, Daisy.”

“I wouldn't tell her who I was,” Daisy said, her words coming out hurried. He could feel an urgency behind the words that he didn’t understand. “I would just say I was with May and Yoyo.”

“Do you really think she wouldn’t see through that? Daisy-”

“What year is it? Am I even born yet?”

“It’s too risky. And besides, you can barely stand on your own right now. How do you plan to get yourself to Jiaying?”

Daniel recognized that name. Jiaying. It was the same name that Daisy had been mumbling after Malick experimented on her. And then he remembered what else she had said. About it not being the first time that happened.

Daniel felt someone’s presence behind him, and he turned around to see Mack approaching. The Director gave him a slight nod as he passed, his voice booming a few moments later, “What the hell is going on in here?”

“I know where we are,” Daisy said. “I’m going to see Jiaying.”

“Daisy, that isn’t an option,” Mack said.

“May and Yoyo went.” “Yes, but May and Yoyo aren’t her daughter. You cannot see her, Daisy. That’s an order.”

Daniel heard the sound of something crashing to the floor and then Daisy strode past him, a blur of blonde hair as she headed back toward the living quarters. He hesitated before following, wanting to give her distance but also inexplicably drawn to her. It was as if their time in the barn had bonded him to her in some manner, and he couldn’t be settled himself until he made she that she was alright.

She had closed her door with force and when he knocked on the door, she angrily returned, “Not now, Mack.”

Daniel cleared his throat and said, “It’s not Mack. It’s Daniel, actually.”

He heard movement behind the door and then she opened it, looking up at him with red-rimmed eyes.

“I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”

“I’m fine,” she snapped, her voice softening when she tacked on, “Thanks, though.”

“Yeah, of course.”

He could tell that she wanted to be alone, but he found himself rooted in place. Maybe it was because he was concerned that she would still try to see Jiaying against Mack’s orders. Or maybe the simple fact that it was comforting to see her up and alive - even if she was royally pissed off.

Neither spoke for a moment until Daisy said, “Um, do you want to come in?”

Daniel was surprised by her offer and his first instinct was that it wasn’t proper, but then he remembered they weren’t in the 1950s anymore. And besides, what was propriety even on a time traveling spaceship? So, he nodded and stepped past Daisy into her room. She closed the door behind her, leaving them alone in the room. Daniel looked around, taking in the ordered chaos that seemed perfectly in line with the room’s inhabitant.

“Hey, I wanted to say thanks, by the way,” Daisy said. He turned to face her and she added, “You know, for before.”

“There’s no reason to thank me. I’m sure you would have done the same.”

Daisy nodded. “Sure. I heard Malick brought a house down on himself?”

“Yeah, he did.”

“Good. I only wish I was the one who brought it down on him.”

“You and me, both,” Daniel said in a low voice. He thought about what he heard in the medical ward, and after a moment said, “You don’t have to answer this, but in the barn when you were saying it had happened before, you were talking about your mother, weren’t you?”

Daisy looked surprised initially, but then said, “I’m guessing Simmons and I were yelling pretty loudly?”

“It wasn’t exactly a private conversation.”

Daisy sat down on her bed, tucking her knees into her chest. She was quiet for a moment before she began to talk. She explained how her mother had powers, like her, and Whitehall experimented on her. Daniel sat next to her, listening quietly as Daisy recounted her father putting her mother back together from scraps, and the irreparable damage that followed. Throughout it all, she spoke in a measured voice, almost like she was recounting someone else’s history rather than her own. When she was finished, Daniel said, “I’m so sorry.”

“And she’s out there. Right now. She’s out there before Whitehall got to her, and I can’t do anything. And I know they’re right. I can’t see her, it’s too risky. But-” her voice cracked, and she cleared her throat before thickly saying, “It doesn’t stop me from wanting to.”

Daniel noticed that the bandage on her inner arm was blood-stained again and without hesitation, he took a hold of her arm to have a better look. Daisy looked down and said, “Shit. It must be from where I tore my IV out.”

“Do you need Simmons to look at it?”

Daisy took a deep breath. “Don't worry. She’ll find us.”

Daniel looked at her in confusion and then there was a knock on the door, Simmons coming in a moment later and saying in a terse voice, “Daisy, I know that you’re upset, but you are stillmy patient and right now you need to be back in the medical ward so that I can monitor your condition.”

“Okay.”

Simmons was clearly surprised that Daisy agreed so easily, and after a bit of recovery, she said, “Okay. Good.”

Daisy stood with some difficulty, Daniel helping her along the way. He offered to assist her back to the medical ward, but she said, “I’m okay. Really.”

He could tell from the careful way she moved that she was not, in fact, okay, but he only nodded in response, choosing not to correct her. Instead, he watched her and Simmons walk back to the medical ward, thinking that her stubbornness was reminiscent of someone else he used to know. Although, that was where the comparison ended. In truth, Daisy Johnson was unlike anyone he had ever met.

I'm trying to puzzle out what was Fitzsimmons' original plan for the mission. In the recorded message for Fitz in 7x08 Simmons mentioned that the mission hadn't exactly gone as planned, and Fitz was surprised by the fact that Jiaying was dead and that Kora was with Nathaniel. I'm guessing that the time stream does not do very well with human emotions and unpredictability. Fitz wouldn't have been able to predict it any better than Sybil could.

Bear in mind that it's all wild speculation with my shipper goggles firmly on, but I'm gonna go on a themed tangent here and suggest that Fitz did not take into account that Daisy and Sousa would hit it off.

There are two points of divergence from Fitz's plan that I can see. First, according to Simmons, the mission hadn't gone exactly as planned as early as 7x06, when the time drive started malfunctioning. Maybe it was because the ship was never hit, and it was never hit because Mack never made the call to abort the mission to flood the Lighthouse. And that was done either because the Chronicoms didn't know to abduct his parents, or the timeline of Daisy's hacking the security system was different. Now, why wouldn't the Chronicoms know not to abduct Mack's parents?

What if Sousa didn't do the fake fiance act, didn't rescue Daisy from Gideon Malick's creepy come ons, didn't follow her into Freddy's windowless office, didn't steal the gun, and Daisy didn't have it to use it on Nathaniel? They would have had to defuse the situation a bit differently, maybe with Quake powers, which would ensure Nathaniel's fascination with Daisy's Inhuman abilities, but would not give the Chronicoms the idea to use loved ones as insurance. Or, alternatively, Sousa either would not go with Daisy on her mission, or (more probably) he would, but they wouldn't waste so much time flirting over cell phones and Daisy comforting him over his time-displacement. Daisy would work quicker on her hacking, be able to unlock the checkpoint quicker, let May and Coulson advance on the mission before Nathaniel caught on, and Mack maybe wouldn't have the time to see his parents on the screens before the mission was complete. The base would be flooded, the Chronicom ship destroyed, the Zephyr would not be hit by the missiles, there would be no time loops.

What would still happen: Nathaniel would gain his powers, Daisy would survive (with or without Sousa, because I believe Nathaniel would not have touched her more than he already did because he already got her powers. She would have eventually recovered enough to rescue herself, or else Mack and the others would have found her, because Coulson would still be around, and Mack would not be traumatized), and Sybil would have still restored herself and reached out to Nathaniel to form an alliance.

I believe the time drive jumped to the eighties because it was programmed to do it, to jump to a time when the coded transmission was supposed to go out, to when all the 0-8-4s were supposed to converge in the speakeasy. Mack and Deke's year in the eighties was not necessary to the overall plot, but the Zephyr would have stopped in the eighties regardless, if not only for this exact purpose.

The second part of divergence is Jiaying's death. The part about Afterlife is tricky. Would Yo-yo not being able to use her powers be enough for them to venture into Afterlife, if the time drive was not malfunctioning? Perhaps, knowing the plan, Simmons would suggest it, or perhaps Daisy, knowing that Nathaniel was out there, would bring it up, and the events at Afterlife would play out as they did. Nathaniel would save Kora and attack the rest of the Inhumans. Jiaying would be brought to the team, but Daisy would stay well away, as Sousa would have no business suggesting that she talk to her, and she wouldn't trust him enough to have her back during that difficult conversation. Nathaniel and Garrett would still come for Simmons, but Daisy would not be with Jiaying when May called her, so she would probably stumble on Nathaniel on her way to her mother, but without her to witness the confrontation. Jiaying would not learn that Daisy was her daughter, would not die protecting her. Nathaniel would probably taunt Daisy about having a sister (to advance whatever plan they cooked up with Sybil involving Kora and her 'I wanna be an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. bullshit), May would still interrupt the quake-off, Nathaniel would make off with Garrett, Simmons, Deke and the Zephyr (and, assuming he had not died in the nonexistent time loops, Enoch).

Coulson would bring Kora to speak with Daisy, but Jiaying would be alive, a new drama would unfold, eventually Kora, Daisy and Jiaying would bond, as Fitz predicted, perhaps Kora would be used as an insider to retrieve Simmons? Why was Jiaying pivotal? Perhaps their combined powers would be needed to fight Nathaniel. I'm unclear on the plan here. Any ideas?

I'm also unsure if Enoch was supposed to have died: Fitz was surprised that he had told Daisy about the future, but was not surprised that he wasn't there. Perhaps Enoch was supposed to have died protecting Jemma on the Zephyr when Nathaniel got her? Without ever revealing the future to Daisy and Coulson? Perhaps that's why he was programmed to kill if anyone tried to remove the implant?

In any case, with Nathaniel (and maybe the Chronicoms) gone, the team could jump through the quantum bridge. I feel like Sousa would volunteer to stay, to help restore S.H.I.E.L.D., perhaps become the next Director (he would have been the perfect candidate, really), because Fitz was completely unsurprised when he suggested it. Fitz was, however, 'whot the helling' quite a bit when Deke interrupted and offered to stay himself. I feel like Deke would not have volunteered to stay if 1) he did not experience the eighties, and 2) if he did not want to play the hero and have Daisy be happy with Sousa.

Alternatively, it's possible that Fitz predicted that Sousa would be into Daisy, would help her, save her from both Malicks and stay on the Zephyr for her, but did not predict that Daisy would fall for Sousa in return. He did not take into account that she would flirt with him, possibly causing the time drive malfunction and the time loops, fall for him harder, hard enough that she would listen to him when he suggested she talk to Jiaying. Even if the time drive was always supposed to malfunction, but Simmons didn't know it (maybe because the implant wasn't properly fixed after the EMP), without falling for Sousa, Daisy would not have talked to Jiaying, and Jiaying would not have died protecting her. Without her death hanging between them, Daisy would have bonded with Kora, and it all would have happened according to Fitz's predictions.

Instead, Daisy and Sousa fell in love and threw a massive wrench in the meticulously planned outcome. I find this delightful.

TL;DR, my personal headcanon is: Dousy was such a wild card that even the time stream did not predict it.

After 7x09 and 7x10 I feel like they're definitely setting up Daisysous to be endgame, but then I'm also very aware that there are only 3 episodes left to wrap everything up (and also, a huge chunk of that time needs to be devoted to Fitz!)...what do you think will happen in the next episode, do you think there'll be time for any one-to-ones/heart-to-hearts with Daisy and Sousa, or do you think it will be mainly action/plot-focussed from now on? I really want them to have another 'first kiss'!

Uh yeap, you and me both. I was already swooning over their convos in 7x10, I think I would physically combust if they gave us another first kiss 😭🤯

As far as what's happening next ep, I'm not sure how to gauge it yet! Last week my expectations were super low. I figured since they blessed us beyond belief in 7x09, that this week would have for sure less Sousa, and probably not another heart to heart or anything. BUT I admit I was very wrong. And I'm not mad about that 😂

What I will say, though, is that Daisy right now is hell-bent on revenge. I think realistically, heart eyes and mushy conversations are the furthest thing from her mind.

On the other hand, she is about to run into about a thousand brick walls at once. This will be Sousa's time to shine as he fights beside her to hopefully take down Nathaniel. Sousa has quite a few bones to pick with the guy too, and I know he will do whatever he can to support not only Daisy but the whole team. He watched Jemma be taken right in front of his eyes, helpless to stop it. Once he hears what happened to Jiaying, he's going to be on the warpath right alongside Daisy. He seems really close to the team already, I know he's going to throw himself headfirst into the fight, however he can.

(Sidenote: Has Sousa adopted the team, or has the team adopted him...? It feels like both 😂)

I've said for my season 7 wishlist, I want a Will-and-Elizabeth in PotC type of scene where Dousy are in the middle of a battle and also in the middle of a desperate kiss. But ya know, I'm keeping my expectations low. Still trying to manifest it or whatever, though 😂

More realistically, I think we'll get another kiss and/or heart-to-heart "for luck" either before Daisy flings herself straight into the Zephyr to tear Nathaniel apart atom by atom, and Sousa just watches, stunned and in awe. OR, probably after the fight as they find each other again and they have a really sweet we did it, thank God you're alive scene, in which I would be a sobbing puddle of tears and happiness.

I've set my bar higher now, as far as how much the writers can deliver in a short time. And yes, we will need a ton of time for Fitz (my boy is coming back!!!!), but that doesn't mean there can't be more Dousy scenes, once Daisy is actually emotionally capable of processing anything other than revenge and anger. They're 100% endgame at the point. I will accept absolutely nothing less.

3 episodes is long enough in AoS time, to make a huge dent in anything they want to show. I have faith (not complete trust, but a good amount of faith) in the writers and their skills, and I know they love Dousy as much as we do. Thank goodness they only have 3 hours to torture Dousy if they feel the need to, and not 6 seasons like they did with Fitzsimmons 😭

I'm hoping for a really nice ending montage where Daisy and Sousa ride off into the sunset, but I know it might be more complicated.

But keep your hopes up, expectations decently low, and cross your fingers! Dousy is my ride or die, and even if (by some stroke of evil that I will never forgive) they don't make it, there will always be 7x06, 7x09, 7x10, and all the fanfiction you can hope for 😄

But I'm not worried about them! We've been blessed before, we'll be blessed again! They literally wrote Sousa into the show FOR DAISY. The one and ONLY concern I have is if Daisy would decide to go back to Afterlife to rebuild it and lead there. And I've also been predicting Sousa will take over as Director of Shield in the end. But even then, like I said in another ask, I can NOT see Daisy leaving shield forever. I think if she starts up Afterlife, she'll split her time between there and helping Sousa run Shield. So I'm not too worried about that either!

....Oof, I really have to shorten my answers 😂 Thanks Anon, and don't give up hope for our very favorite crack-ship yet, LOL

Home is where the plane is

Honestly no idea what this even is, nearly 5K of Daisy and Daniel just cause?

Wrote this out in an afternoon and haven't really gone over it, so may have some errors.

A sharp knock on her bunk door drew Daisy out of her ravine, from the constant time looping to the way in which they had been able to break it had drained her physically, but even more so mentally. Once the others had been debriefed, more by Coulson than herself, she had slunk out for some peace, Enoch's words still screaming at the back of her mind.

"Yeah," Daisy answered evenly, unsurprised when the door opened, and Sousa entered.

"Just wanted to check in on you," he explained, taking in her quiet demeanour as she sat on the edge of her bed, legs drawn in close to her chest.

"Of-course you did," she shook her head, catching sight at his furrowed brow to her words, "it's just very time-loopy of you, well I guess, very you of you."

"I'm sorry about Enoch," he brushed past her odd comment, sitting alongside her in quiet comradely.

"He said this is the teams last mission together," she spoke after a few minutes, stretching her legs out as she turned her head slightly towards him, a sadness to her expression as she continued, "that we'll survive but the team won't."

"What do you think he meant by that?" he watched her closer as he questioned her statement, pushing aside the desire to pull her close and hold her tightly, he knew that it was not his place, not yet anyway.

"I, I don't know, maybe something happens, maybe SHIELD is different and doesn't let us stay a team, or maybe we change something and we don't even know each other when we get back to our time," the scenarios that had been running through her mind spilled out, her concern at the options evident as she fidgeted.

"This team is closer than most families, I'm sure whatever happens, you'll still have each-others backs," he told her optimistically, neither really had any idea what type of future they would go back to, especially not someone who had ever been there.

"They're the only family I've ever had, this plane, it's the only home I've had, I don't know how to give that up," her words breaking the little self-control he had, as he reached a hand across to hers, her fidgeting stopping instantly.

"They'll still be your family even if the team doesn't do anymore missions together," he tried to reassure her, stroking her hand with his thumb as he filed away the little bits of information she had let slip out amongst her statements.

Staring straight ahead, she could feel his eyes on her, watching, making sure that she was okay, as always. Maybe it was watching her friends die over and over, or watching her friend die for real, but it gave her a need to live in the moment more than she usually would, to take a risk she wouldn't normally – sure she had acted more freely in the time loop, but she knew that would reset and he wouldn't remember. There had been a type of power in that, that she could see how he would react, how she would feel, when she questioned him, all while knowing and receiving the same response, a power that allowed her to be more open with him than normal.

Turning to him, she saw the question in his silence as she leant toward him, her hands reaching his collar as she chastely kissed him, drawing back almost instantly to give him a chance to take her move in, after all he didn't have memories of their loop conversations like she did. The surprise in his eyes turning to hunger just as quick as the time before, as he pulled her closer to him, hands already on her waist before she had realised he had even moved them, initiating a second, deeper kiss, one that wasn't bound by the same time restraints as in the loop.

"Probably fair to tell you that that happened in the time loop," she told him as they paused for moment, "only once, that I remember anyway."

"Anything else that happen that I should know about?" he chuckled, his wrist resting on her should as he played with the hair he had messed with his hand.

"You died, but we all pretty much did a number of times," she threw out nonchalantly, the memory still fresh in her mind, along with the memory of him once again sleeping at her side in the reset; alive and well.

Using the hand still on his collar, she practically dragged him back onto her bed, his hands slipping under her black top, leaving a trail of fire on her skin at the contact, the new position allowing them to sink deeper into the kiss. He pulled away slightly, to her annoyance, until she felt his lips on her neck, the shift in focus giving her a chance to work on undoing the buttons on the blue shirt she had spent a little to long in the loops appreciating.

They both jumped at the sound of May's voice coming through the ship's speakers, requesting everyone's attendance to a team meeting, Daniel straightening up so quickly that Daisy couldn't help but smile. -----------------------------------------------------------

"We didn't interrupt anything did we?" May asked with her usual even tone, as they entered the lab, the glint in her eye gaining her a glare in return from woman in question.

"What's going on? Daisy asked, brushing past the question as she looked around for the next issue at hand as she stopped alongside the labs bright table, "what time are we in now?"

"We look to be just a couple months from when we last jumped," Simmons spoke up, a tablet in hand ready to show her workings should anyone want further information on her statement.

"Which means that we…" Yo-Yo trailed off, glancing to May for help in explaining the situation.

"Which means what?" Daisy questioned, glancing between the two women that seemed to be at the forefront of her summoning's, "what are you all not saying?"

"I promised Jiaying that we would help with Nathaniel and Kora," May informed her, the older agent spoke in no major hurry to elaborate.

"Obviously, we would, clearly he has teamed up with Sybil," Daisy pushed in an annoyed tone, wishing that they would be more direct with her, but also apprehensive of where the topic was going, a slight glance to Sousa who was standing quietly next to her told her that he was unsure as well.

"It's just that to do that, she'll have to come onto the Zephyr," everyone's attention turning on Daisy the moment May got to the point, watching, waiting for what her reaction would be.

"Can't you just meet up with her on the ground? Or on the quin jet?" Daisy questioned, the unease at the idea bristling under her skin.

"We've already given them the co-ordinates," Mack spoke evenly, his tone and crossed arms leaving no room for further discussions on the topic.

"So, this isn't you guys asking me, this is you telling me," Daisy stated, her tone level and cold, gaining her a hint of surprise or concern, or something else that she couldn't quite pinpoint from the man still standing a fraction to close to her side.

"If there was any other way, but we just can't risk it, I don't have to tell you want happens if she dies," Coulson explained with a bit more tact.

"I won't be born," the young agent sighed, knowing it wasn't a fight she was going to win.

"That's not a risk I am willing to take," Coulson stated warmly, his head half-cocked with a small smile as he attempted to bring her on board with the plan.

"Bringing her on here could risk that still," Daisy countered, raising her eyebrow as she stared him down.

"The chances are better this way though," Simmons spoke up as she continued playing with the screen in front of her, "they've just arrived."

"We'll go get them," May stated, nodding for Yo-Yo to follow, figuring some familiar faces would help the situation.

"You guys really couldn't give me more warning?" Daisy asked, crossing her arms as she leant forward to talk in a quieter tone.

"They were worried you would talk them out of it," Deke told her before he realised what he was saying, his eyes going wide when he backtracked in his mind.

"Deke," Simmons exclaimed, glaring her grandson down before putting on her fake, supposedly calming smile and turned back to her friend, "we didn't have the time too."

"You only had, what, two minutes to tell me, was five too much to ask for?" Daisy hissed back, her words lacking any real anger as she had already accepted what was happening, not that she got much of a choice, as she uncrossed her arms to lean on the lap table instead.

"Play nice," her best friend shot back with a laugh, glancing up towards the door to watch their incoming arrivals, clocking the way that Sousa placed a gentle hand on the Daisy's arm in comfort.

"And this is the team," Yo-Yo explained, catching the unease in the air as they joined back with the group and hoping their companions would not.

"Hi, Jemma Simmons," Simmons jumped to greet the guests, her politeness pushing aside any of the room's bad energy, "and this is Deke."

"That's Mack, Phil Coulson, Daniel Sousa, and –" May continued the introductions, hesitating for a moment, realising there could be an issue with giving out the final member of the teams name to the past version of her mother.

"And I'm Skye Sousa," Daisy smiled politely, using the first thing that came to mind, the team's eyes flying to her and the man she had just roped into a marriage with her; his closeness to her and his hand on her arm playing into it enough that her statement wouldn't be questioned from the apparent strangers.

"Thank-you all for this, we were starting to worry we might not hear from you again," Jiaying told them, unfazed by the team's demeanours as she got to business instead, "but from the look on all your faces, you have had your own worries to deal with."

"You could say that," Simmons responded, nodding at her words, "but we did honestly come as quick as we could."

"Where exactly did you come from?" Gordon pressed further, unhappy with the lack of information being shared.

"It's a long story," Mack stated firmly, putting an end to the questioning.

"I've seen a lot in my time, but nothing like this plane," Jiaying moved on, understanding the tone of the room as she looked around it, her eyes settling on the younger woman across from her, "Skye, you have powers as well?"

"Yeah," Daisy drew her answer out hesitantly, making no move to demonstrate.

"Your friend was very tight lipped about where she got her's from, but you, there's something about them, you got through a diviner and a Cree temple didn't you?" Jiaying getting to the outcome quicker than the team liked, especially the one in question.

"Not by choice, but yes," Daisy responded honestly, trying to keep the bite from her tone as she instead tried to focus on the reassuring lines that Daniel's thumb was drawing on her arm.

"That has not been done in a very long time, it must have been very difficult to locate, how did you manage it?" Jiaying exclaimed, genuine interest and amazement blocking her concern for the tone to the responses she was gaining.

"It's complicated," Daisy stated coldly, bringing a silence over the room, and ending the questioning.

"Right, so we have been trying to locate either Kora or Nathaniel but not having much luck, any ideas where she might have gone to lay low?" Simmons switched the subject quickly, giving her friend a gentle smile.

"No, but I also never knew she would turn to the dark side so easily, I have spent her whole life trying to protect her," Jiaying responded, accepting the change with a polite ease.

"Maybe she needed to be taught to control her power not to fear it," Daisy stated evenly, knowing first-hand what it could do to you when the thing you feared was yourself.

"I tried, but everyone else was getting more and more afraid of her, which made her worse," her mother reasoned, the care and concern in her voice just working to anger Daisy further.

"Did you ever think about taking her away from Afterlife?" May cut in before a response could be voiced, a firm stare given towards the younger agent.

"Many times, but as I'm sure you all would know, people are either afraid of us or want to use us as weapons," Jiaying spoke sadly, she might not yet have been fully against everyone not powered, but for the team that knew her future they could sense the anger and hatred under there even now.

"Well we were designed to be weapons," Daisy stated casually, catching the eye of the man next to her, knowing he was paying close attention to the whole conversation and remembering he knew very little about any of the inhuman stuff.

"Some powers are more dangerous than others, but it is a gift, not a curse," the un-aging woman's sentence coming out as if she had said it a million times.

"That doesn't change the fact we were literally meant to be used for weapons, even your powers, they might seem harmless enough, but you can drain the life out of people," Daisy informed her matter-of-factly, she had after all felt those powers first hand but she knew it best to leave that particular part out.

"How do you know that?" her mother's tone went dark for a moment, the knowledge of what she could do troubling her, before she regrouped herself and continued, "regardless, that's not the belief that we choose at Afterlife."

"It's not a belief, it's just a fact," Daisy shrugged, turning to her team for support.

"She's right, the Cree who created the mutation in the first place told us," Coulson backed her up.

"You've met the ones that started this all?" Jiaying questioned, her interest peaked at the new information.

"Along with the monster meant to lead us to battle," Simmons shuddered at the memories, her tone enough to drop any further questions from their guests.

"Even if that is what we were first meant for, it's up to us to decide what it means now," Jiaying fell back to her almost cult sounding words.

"And that's not always the right choice," Daisy fired back.

"Alright, how about we all get some rest, I think we all need it," Simmons put a stop to the conversation at hand, deciding it best before something was said that might trip them all up, "May, if you could be so kind as to show our guests to their rooms."

Watching them leave, Daisy moved towards a closed laptop nearby, waving off Sousa as she did, she needed a moment to herself, to process and the best way she knew how was to hack. She could feel her best friend watching her closely, a warmth to her mothering that she couldn't help but wonder if she would feel once the mission was done and Enoch's truth came to light.

"That means everyone," Simmons scolded her with a soft smile.

"I'm just going to run through some of the cities networks, see if I can get into any," Daisy explained, returning her smile, "and then I promise to leave." -------------------------------------

Opening her bunks door, Daisy stilled for a moment at the sight of Daniel lying on her bed, flicking through some files he must have come across somewhere. His eyes catching hers as she entered, and she held back a head shake at the fact he was once again, always there.

"Mack told me to stay here, you know, to keep up your lie about us being married," he explained his presence, watching her carefully, not fully sure where they stood with each other right now.

"Right, sorry about that, I didn't think she should know my real name, and I didn't know what else to say," Daisy rambled her excuse off, smirking at him as she lowered herself down next to him, "though, really you started it by telling Gideon you were my fiancé like a decade ago."

"That would be a very long engagement," Daniel agreed with her reasoning, eyes narrowing as he asked the question that had been bugging him the most, "why Skye?"

"I went by that for a long time, I didn't know my real name and the orphanage gave me a terrible one, so I made my own," she told him after a moment, quieter than she had been and pulling her legs to her chest as she spoke.

"It's a nice name," his words kind as he focused on the positive, knowing she had gone through too much the last few days to want to delve into the rest of her statement.

Humming in response, she stared at the files he had been reading, her mind to busy to be able to focus on them, but after a few moments of silence, she turned away. Taking the hint, he went back to his reading, far from wanting to push her into anything and just thankful she seemed willing to let him stay, willing to let him be there for her and part of him wondered just what they had discussed in the time loops; at the very least, what had made her kiss him, not that he was complaining.

"The last time I saw her, my father killed her because she was trying to kill me," Daisy broke her own silence, the words coming out before she had decided if she was ready to share them, "she wanted to kill a lot of people and thought I would help her."

"That's horrible," he placed the files on the bedside table and reached for her hand, her fingers wrapping around his slowly as if she wasn't quite convinced that she should reach out to him.

"She had a lot of terrible stuff done to her, and I've always tried to convince myself that that excuse was enough, enough to explain how she was when I met her and what she did to me, I mean she apparently searched for me my whole life and yet was willing to kill me," she found that once she started talking, she was struggling to stop, he was just too easy to talk too, "but I have had terrible, terrible things done to me, and yes, I've done bad things, but I've always ended up doing the right thing, or at least I hope so, and I mean it just makes me think her excuses don't quite cut it, you know."

"And now to learn she had another daughter, that I've got a half-sister, one that she actually raised, and that one jumped to the wrong side so quick, and it makes me wonder, am I just fighting a loosing battle? Am I just one bad thing away from switching sides too? Deke's future knows me as the Destroyer of Worlds, so maybe it's not that big of a jump," she kept talking, "I've done some real bad things Daniel, you have no idea, maybe I'm not that much different than her. But seeing her like this, seeing her as a good, nice mother, it just makes it so much harder, maybe I was the one that come into her life and ruined it, that is my specialty, so how can I claim to be one of the good guys?"

"You are a good person, Daisy," he stated soundly, he had wanted to interject so many times through her rambling, but he could sense that she wasn't looking for a response, she just needed to talk.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to just unload on you," she sighed, refusing to meet his eye, but relishing in the warmth from his hand holding her tight.

"Daisy, I'm pretty sure you're the strongest person I've ever met, leaning on someone else doesn't make you weak," he told her honestly, squeezing her hand as if to back his statement.

Blinking away the tears that had started to form, she turned to him, her eyes trained on his as she tried to determine if she could believe him or not. Leaning forward, she closed the gap between them, kissing him firmly, a part of her hating how needy she could feel she was, but she needed this, she needed him, more than she could admit to even herself.

He rolled her onto her back, his lips never leaving hers as she set about undoing his shirt, his hand wrapped around the back of her head, tangled amongst her hair as his other slipped under her top and to the side of her waist, her hands dropping down to help him lift the plain black top up and over her head. She used the extra space the move created between them to push his now undone shirt off his shoulders, humming in annoyance when he used the space to pull away further.

"Are you sure you want this? You don't seem like you're in the best head space," he questioned, slightly out of breath, but ever the gentleman.

"Not sure if you've noticed, but I'm never really in a good headspace," she smirked back at him, nodding at his question nonetheless, pulling him back down to her level.

"How long have you been up?" Yo-Yo asked, entering the gym with May following close behind, the two having planned a sparring session the night before that Daisy recalled had, while doing her hacking, overheard them fight over the start time of, won of course by May.

"I was checking on my hack and saw Jiaying heading to the kitchen, so here I am, hiding on a treadmill," Daisy huffed out a laugh, slowing the machine down to a walking speed.

"You seem in a better mood today," Yo-Yo grinned at her, whether implying something or just glad that her friend was happier, Daisy couldn't quite pinpoint.

"It was the first time in what seems like a very long time that I've woken up – " Daisy started, only to be interrupted before she could complete her response.

"We don't need to know what you woke up to," May smirked at her, her words catching an odd look from Yo-Yo as she tried to unpack them.

"That I've woken up not in the time loop," Daisy glared back, not playing into the older woman's trap, she could admit to herself that waking up next to Daniel had definitely also added to her good mood, but she was not about to admit that to her current companions.

"What is May talking about?" Yo-Yo asked, switching her focus between the two as she came to her own conclusion, "has she been doing her creepy empathic thing with you and Sousa?"

"Wait, what?!" Daisy near yelled, suddenly worried about what exactly her friend meant.

"Oh, come on, everyone can see the way he follows you around, and that you don't seem to mind," Yo-Yo explained her reasoning, smirking at her friend as she chose to ignore the bigger question for her statement regarding May.

"What did she mean May?" Daisy stopped the treadmill completely, feeling the dread come over her that she could only imagine was how teenagers felt when they were caught by their parents.

"It's okay, it doesn't reach through to your room," May let her off the hook quickly, shaking her head at the thought.

"Why not?" Yo-Yo asked, confused at the turn of events, but more interested in the answer.

"My room is lined with stuff to stop me from causing issues on the plane if I lose control of my powers again, so I'm guessing that stops your empathic stalking?" Daisy grinned, relief flooding over her as she started the machine back up to a light jog speed.

"Yes, thank god," May shared in her relief, she would have been feeling it had she been able to feel and it was refreshing for the emotion she felt to be fitting to what she was thinking.

"How do I get that? I told Mack and he's now traumatised," Yo-Yo exclaimed, making a mental note to bring it up with Simmons later as she quickly realised that although the other two knew of the lining, they weren't the type to have questioned what it was.

"Good, that would be too weird," Daisy smirked, making no move to dispel any beliefs that they had formed regarding her and Sousa, something not lost on the other two, "you're like my mum."

"Plus, I've seen you have nightmares, I don't want to feel those," May deadpanned, turning back to square up with Yo-Yo.

"Real supportive May," Daisy grinned back, expecting nothing less, but thankful now that those nightmares had gotten her at least some privacy.

"May, supportive? Feel's like we are interrupting something," Coulson joked from the doorway, flanked by Deke and Sousa.

"Yo-Yo was wanting to do some redecorating," Daisy stated quickly, making sure to get in first before any comments were made as she smiled in greeting to the men, her eyes resting on Daniel's for a moment longer than the rest, his trailing over her as she ran, gaining him a smirk in response.

"Oh, well if you want me to pick you up anything, actually here to see if anyone had anything they wanted added to my list as I'm heading out for a supply run," Deke informed them, missing the shared glare amongst the women.

"Jiaying's making breakfast," Coulson told them, his eyes narrowed on one in particular.

"I saw, hence the early morning workout," Daisy nodded, making no effort to hide the fact she was hiding in a gym.

"There are a few things you could get me actually, Deke," Yo-Yo stated as she stopped the sparring with May to write a list.

"Make sure to put some things for Daisy too," May told her, a grin on her face that put the woman in question on edge as she once more slowed her treadmill down to a walk.

"Oh, no, it's fine, she already told me," Deke brushed it off quickly, the underlying conversation of the room completely lost on him.

"Did she now?" Yo-Yo looked up from her writing with a smirk, sharing a look with the other two women.

"Yeah, I've got the sniffer devices and the list of the locations to plant them, it's like basic level hacking, super easy," Deke rattled off the information as if she had drilled it into him.

"Oh, right," Yo-Yo responded as she returned to her list, biting back a chuckle.

"See, I knew you three would be up to no good, what's going on here?" Coulson questioned them all, clearly not buying their poor attempt at hiding the previous topic.

"If you must know," May started, glancing between the two women either side of her as she could feel one's worry and the other's amusement at the turn of events.

"I don't think he does," Daisy stated quickly, her eyes narrowing on the older agent.

"My new empathic abilities, well, they have some side effects, and turns out I can also feel other people's, you know, alone time together," May explained with a grin, watching as everyone around her went dead still and slightly pale at her words.

"What now?" Deke asked, shuffling uncomfortably at the new information and wishing he had not been in the conversation at all as he looked between the unmoving Coulson, who was opening and closing his mouth as if he was actually lost for how to respond, and the small woman across from them, amused by the control she had over the room.

"They really don't want to know this May," Daisy stated sternly, giving a slight shake of her head to the now frozen Daniel, clearly very unsure of how he should proceed.

"So, I picked up on Yo-Yo and Mack's reunion and that's why Mack won't make eye contact with me anymore," May told the group, deciding to leave out the part about Daisy and Sousa, as she thought he might actually be good for her.

"We did not need to know that," Deke stated, turning, and leaving the moment that he got the list from Yo-Yo.

Simmons voice coming through the intercom interrupted anyone from commenting further, the break in the rooms focus gave Daisy a chance to mouth thank-you to May, before grinning at Daniel as he took a visible breath. Stepping off the treadmill, she made a move to follow the small group out of the room, falling into line next to Daniel with a quiet 'I'll explain later', she watched the team merge into one big group, one big family and couldn't seem to shake the tinge of sadness over Enoch's warning.

Agents of Shield Rewatch 7x10 Stolen

I don’t even know what to do with myself after that last episode whew. But the show must go on.

They got the most out of this bar set for real

I think James Paxton did an amazing job of not just trying to copy his dad, but really trying to get the essence of John Garrett

Ohhh, so I didn’t catch this the first time, but the implication here is that if Kora is alive Jiaying would have never met Cal because she wouldn’t have left Afterlife at all

So it may be Daisy would have had a hard time being born in this timeline regardless

I mean was their plan was to make sure Kora got killed so Jiaying would want to go get it with Cal?

Obviously they didn’t have a plan but eh

Nathaniel is so manipulative and Kora deserves way better

Although interestingly it looks like Kora can both give and take life with her power

Also, this is clearly done with nothing expected in return

We also get a chance to see that Sousa, while fitting in very well with this group, clearly has people he wishes he could have said goodbye to. I know a lot of people just went “OH PEGGY” which I’m sure she’s part of it, but this man had an entire life with family and friends and he just disappeared. Granted, he would have been dead so they would have missed him anyway, but still.

Also his offer to bail her out is peak Sousa, but also it must remind Daisy of what he said to her in the time loops

Ok, I think Jiaying is saying two different things here. The first is you seem so familiar. Like clearly she is vibing on half of her DNA in Daisy. And then she says she recognizes Daisy’s gift because of Nathaniel.

I adore Sousa slowly noping out of there when he knows he’s no longer needed

This episode managed to raise my hopes then dash them all again. Womp. We have a 100000/10 on the Dousy scale for supportive talks and bag carrying. Awww. This episode also gets a 10/10 on the Younger Versions Seem to Be Cooler scale because for real, John Garrett, Gordon, and Jiaying were all better in their younger iterations. This episode also rates a 10/10 on the What a Tweest! scale because it turns out they were after Jemma all along!

Well, we’re back in 1983, so we’re back to 80′s music. This episode’s song is “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads.

Ok, here is the rant I said I would do. Notes, I’m not going canon divergent on these events, this is simply an analyses of how SHIELD’s actions directly impacted Daisy. Which also explains why in my portrayal the only person of the main team that she fully trusts is Mack. She loves everyone else, sure. But when it comes to her powers, when it comes to the inhumans, she knows she can’t trust them. That they won’t end up using her at one point because they need her to save the world or a loved one, without even thinking about how this will personally impact Daisy.

how shield ruined daisy’s entire life

part i, pre-canon

First, we must talk about how shield (and here we bring up peggy, fury and all the other higher ups) allowed Hydra to rise in its ranks and take over the operation. This eventually led to Daniel Whitehall’s release from prison (which was ordered by Alexander Pierce). SHIELD had been founded after the Second World War, after they defeated Hydra, but it failed to recognize it had grown again inside of its ranks, filling various important positions. Whitehall learned that Jiaying was alive because shield agents (who were operatives of Hydra) had found her location and noticed she was still young. Whitehall than kidnapped and tortured her.

During this time, Daisy was taken by a group of shield agents who were, I’ll give them that, trying to do their best for this baby who was supposedly being hunted down by monsters. Except, those monsters were her parents. Let me ask you -- if Cal and Jiaying had found Daisy when she was still young, if they had time to heal from what happened, would they have become the broken people we met? Probably not. Sure, Jiaying would still be willing to do anything to protect the inhumans, but she would have a bond with her daughter (the same bond we saw she had with Kora). Jiaying spent twenty years thinking she had lost another child.

SHIELD kept moving Daisy around, constantly, to protect her. And once again, yeah, they were trying their best. But they didn’t have the entire information, they didn’t know what was really going on, so they stole her from her parents.

This led to her being raised in an orphanage where she wasn’t exactly well treated. And because SHIELD constantly kept her moving, she was never adopted, even when people wanted to take her in. So she thought no one could love her. And while she later learned the truth, this was something that stuck with her. That she could never be loved, no matter how hard she tried to please people, they would eventually leave.

part ii, the monolith

Now, I’ve already talked about SHIELD’s incompetence with Hydra. I’ll just add, that it meant that Daisy’s commanding officer was actually a hydra agent who betrayed the team, hurt her friends, and emotionally manipulated her. Great work enviourment, guys!

Moving on, let’s talk about the Monolith, an item that SHIELD was scared of and kept under lock and key because it was supposedly very dangerous. It was briefly under NASA’s control as well, and they also had no idea what it did. You know who knew? The Inhumans and they fought hard to get it back. They risked their lives to get the item so they could properly store it (unlike SHIELD which decided to... uh... do experiments on it? Geez, and they say the scientists are smart. Maybe listen to the people who actually know what they are talking about instead of doing it yourselves.) But I digress.

"I'm guessing it's dangerous." "In the wrong hands, lethal to our people. It's better we have control over it."

The Inhumans knew it was dangerous. The whole battle on the ship was because they were trying to get it back. And instead of, I don’t know, killing Gordon and everyone else, they could have seen the desperation in them and understood it was something that was specifically dangerous to inhumans. But no, they took it back to the base and swallowed Jemma.

Also, just a note, Gordon’s actions in season 2 were not aggressive until the end, he was just picking people up and taking them to safety and instead of going “huh, this group of people who are clearly not exactly human have a teleporter and they try not to interact a lot with humans... let’s track them”. Like, I’m sorry. Just from mistakes made - SHIELD brought on several disasters and the only thing we saw from the Inhumans that we could blame them for was the incident in Bahrain.

Which brings me to season 3 and all the mess with Hive. Hive came from the monolith. They opened it (to save Jemma) without any care about what they were bringing back and what the risks were. And what they brought back possessed Daisy and made her addicted. It destroyed her from the inside and just when she didn’t have anything more to give, her boyfriend sacrificed himself to destroy it.

And during this entire mess, in a very american move, they allow the cooky doctor who was helping Hive to just.... go back to his normal life instead of imprisoning him. Which consequently brought us the Framework, which was... actually it was Fitz’s fault because SHIELD did tell him countless times to stop. (but, not that the narrative holds him responsible.... which he absolutely was... and also for torturing Daisy, but we aren’t talking about that right now). Once again, Daisy had to suffer the consequences of SHIELD’s actions.

She suffered because of Hive’s actions.

She suffered to save everyone from the Framework.

And let’s remember that SHIELD (Coulson) gave Jiaying’s journal with all of the inhuman blood lines not to an inhuman who was going to protect them, but to Andrew, a third party (who was actually hunting them down and killing them). All those people Daisy met, all those people her mother protected, gone.

Because of SHIELD.

*I do wanna say, yes Jiaying did fake the attack to get everyone against SHIELD this is war but after being tortured by HYDRA (and SHIELD and HYDRA were the same thing in the eyes of the inhumans) and seeing Gordon hunted down by SHIELD, and literally the years of bad experiences they had, they were protecting themselves. Their actions didn’t come out of nowhere, they knew what was coming (and let’s remember that two years later Stark and his group tried to push the Sokkovia awards which would have forced them all to register in a list and be constantly watched by the government??)

Agents of SHIELD - s7ep11: Brand New Day (WARNING – SPOILERS (obviously))

- So straight off the bat, reading the tagline, looks fun - “(in order to win against Sibyl/Nathaniel) they’ll have to get creative, and maybe even a little out of this world.” Intriguing. Looks like we could be in for some fun stuff this episode, but I’m really wondering how we’re going to turn this all around in just three episodes (counting the finale as two), so I’m guessing there’s gonna be a big thing to happen that’s gonna end it all. Like, someone’s gonna die, I’m just gonna say it, it’s gotta happen?

- Also, because I can’t restrain myself, I have been on Tumblr and Twitter today, and I haven’t actively stopped to read what I’ve seen, but because I am rubbish at avoiding it, I have figured out that we’ve got some flashbacks this episode, which appear to have Fitz in them??? I bloody hope so gosh.

- Right, I’m gonna start it. Deep breaths.

Uhhhhhhh so this is problematic. I mean, by all accounts, they could just leave this timeline and go back to the OG one. I mean, there’s a canon timeline where Steve learns early that Bucky is alive, Loki has the Tesseract and Steve just told a elevator full of Hydra agents “Hail Hydra” (so a highly chaotic timeline, that the avengers just left) so they could just leave but like, that’s unethical, i guess???? Oh well.

It really is the end, huh.

The finale will make me cry. There’s not many SHIELD episodes that have made me do that. I think the one that made me cry the most was the spy’s goodbye. And I seem to remember crying when Fitzsimmons were at the bottom of the ocean, and then laughing through my sobs bc the shot of Fury coming down from the helicopter, arm outstretched like Jesus was the most hilarious thing I had ever seen; but other than that? Not many.

I’m excited and terrified at the same time. I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF. HELP.
